"Sports show where we explore the big money issues in the world sports. I'm Michael Barr. I'm scarlet food. And I'm Damien smash hour. Coming up on the show today, we are talking with cofounder and CEO of athletes unlimited. A network of professional women's sports leagues about how they're looking to grow. We earn an age where athletes have increasing resonance and increasing power and they should be centered really at the core of what any new league is trying to do. That conversation with John Patrick off the cofounder and CEO of athletes unlimited straight ahead on the Bloomberg business of sports show, but first, the NFL playoffs are in full swing, but the season has been marred by some serious and scary injuries. Yeah, Michael, I mean, this follows an unfortunate trend for the NFL, who has been in the news far too often lately because of concerns with player safety. I'm thinking to Mark Hamlin to and there was another scary scene recently with the Tampa Bay Bucs involving live receiver Russell gage. I got a chance to sit down and talk with Bloomberg pursuits deputy editor Jim gatti and Bloomberg businessweek contributor, Michael Crowley. And they have an article featured in Bloomberg businessweek magazine the year ahead issue about how the NFL is looking to reduce injuries using machine learning. Let's take a listen to a bit of that conversation I had with him. I'm going to start with Michael. Tell us more about what your article is all about. Yeah, so I was alerted through a source that, you know, one of the things the NFL has been doing for some time now is really focusing on lower limit dreams and that research is actually an outgrowth of the research related to concussions. And one of the things we in the reporting that should be reflected in the article as well is that this was a bit of a surprise to them, you know, because the NFL television is every single game. They have filmed their video on every single injury that has occurred in the NFL. And so they started to understand that if they could start studying those collisions specifically for concussions, then they started looking at other than they realized they could look at other things. And that's where the artificial intelligence and machine learning starts to come into play. Because now they can start analyzing all that data, which we would call video. They can start analyzing, I don't know if they would put it this way, but say the angle of a collision or the way that a foot response to artificial turn versus natural grass. Jim, in this article, is the damar Hamlin injury. I wonder if there is any way to prevent an injury like that he went into cardiac arrest, and it was one of those freak things because it was a normal hit. And T Higgins he didn't do anything wrong with the hit at all. It just scared everybody who was an NFL fan and obviously the Buffalo Bills. Yeah, you know, I'm not a doctor. But I feel like that was judging from the reactions that I've seen from football players. You know, it seemed like a freak thing that there was really not much you could do to prevent that, but what I will say is that the action plan that they had in place to resuscitate him. That is an absolute outgrowth of the research they've been doing over the last few years. And that is a plan that they put in place specifically for a freak accident like that. And I'm thinking 15 years ago, 20 years ago, that action plan is not in place. I remember seeing Tony Dorsett, and he was playing. I believe he was a Monday night game. And one of the greatest running backs in the league, and that was back in the time when we went to see big old hits. So he hits head first into a defensive player, and it literally knocks his helmet askew. And now today, Michael, he's dealing with concussions. And thank goodness the game has changed. With all of this stuff, and by the way, folks, I need to explain something to you in the article. They create an AI player. And I know you've seen the commercials where you got the person and they were in the ping Pong balls and this and that. And it's cute and you get a chuckle on it. But Michael, this is something that is really serious for the NFL and they have taken it to the n-th degree and good for them. Yeah, I mean, I think some of the stuff that they're doing is actually to be commended is actually pretty cutting edge. So they started a number of contests where they're giving out funds for companies to develop new products. So the helmets, the helmet challenge was the first one that they did. And they got, I mean, one of the most interesting companies that sort of came into that was a place called in presario tech, which was actually a medical device company that was working on spun research. And sort of when you're as you get older in the age of sort of spine injury, they had developed this sort of the best way for us to understand and be like a Jell-O, you know, Jell-O that you put in between your spine that was like a shock absorber that would sort of help leave and alleviate pain. Well, they were one of the companies that won some money by jumping into the helmet technology challenge. And I think that the machine learning and the AI stuff is really interesting. And one of the coolest insights that we could put into the article is just that, you know, we may not recognize it, but they've changed our kick-offs are done in part to sort of slow down collisions, which is a direct result of the research. But another thing that they think will change at some point is like, they'll have all this data. And so eventually, the way that they do punts may change, like you may not be able to double team a gunner on the edge during a pond because they see that that's going to create more sort of injury models. But it may be even something long term where they want to get out in front of us where they may sort of like maybe the quarterback snake goes away. Maybe bootlegs go away. I mean, there's a real possibility that strategically how you play the game besides and going for them fourth down are going for two. But actual formations may be outlawed or actual play calls could potentially be outlawed. I mean, it's hard for them to sort of say that that will happen. But as they get more data and they can sort of see that there's a causal relationship between a certain play top and certain injury types, they're going to go away from that. There's just a natural thing that will happen. The other thing that they can do eventually that's going to be able to do probably within 5 years, if not less, as they can go to certain players and say like, look, based off the way you move based off the way you run, based off the way you come out of brakes, you need to use this shoe. Or you need to change your gate or the way that you operate because it's going to make you just making up a number here. 6% more likely to have a knee injury. Like that's how that's how deep the data is going to go to Jim's earlier point. This goes far beyond just like pumping up more threes during an NBA game. It's going to really come down to like really trying to figure out how to keep these guys on the field because I don't think anybody believes that they're not going to go to 18 games eventually. And Michael, you brought up

"Like building the game in 94. To me, the Met have one of the most aggressive owners in all of pro sports. Women's sports has become much more high profile. There's been a lot of focus on it. TV networks have made a killing off of college football and they will continue to do that. You have a very motivated owner which the Padres do, which the Phillies do, which the Yankees do, you spend. I think sports may be driving some of these streaming services as they go forward. There's a shelf life to be internationally. You have to figure out what the pivot is going to be. "A volume game with them. So James talked to the CEO of Sotheby's about their whole luxury strategy, which is really evolved in the past couple of years. It's interesting because for a while, quote unquote luxury was something that was very much less than less prestigious, less interesting, less volume, less room for growth than art for a lot of these auction houses. And they realized relatively recently that actually this was a huge growth market that they could really tap into. And that coincided with of course a lot of people bored at home during COVID buying stuff. And there was a supply shock, right? Yeah. If everyone all of a sudden has extra money because they're not spending it on travel or restaurants and everyone decides that you know what they're going to treat themselves to a fancy watch. Well, there's only a finite number of fancy watches out there as Chris can talk about. So ultimately, auction houses became a major beneficiary of people realizing that if they wanted a fancy watch they were going to have to buy a used one. And that has become not only a source of growth for these auction houses, but as a real strategy for the way that these auction houses are charting their course over the next couple of years. "The good news is it's there and it's not going anywhere. Well, speaking of something that's there and finally back is the Venice Biennale. Long delayed due to COVID, you got to go there as well. How were the themes this year in terms of how they're thinking about the year? Let me just say that the Venice Biennale is why I have stayed an archer list. It is absolutely the most fun because they turn over the entire city of Venice to art. So you get to go into these private homes. You've got to see all of the most cutting edge artworks which countries from around the world have brought. You get to traipse through the giardini looking at these different pavilions filled with different national efforts. It's a huge deal. And beyond it simply being fun, it's actually super, super, super important because what it does is it charts basically the way that the rest of the art world is going to go for the next several years. It's a way of seeing what's going to be next. So for a while, the R world had been really inward looking, or maybe not even inward looking in the art world itself, but inward looking on the people who are making the art. Very much about identity politics, very much about nationality and background and biography. That has really begun to change. First, it began to change in Venice, and now we're actually seeing it change in the art market itself. In Venice, it was all about the future. It was about ecology. It was about climate change, very, very interesting because it was trying to take an artistic perspective and really apply it to something that affects everyone. And sometimes it was successful and sometimes it wasn't, but it was very different than what we've been seeing for a while. There is one story I want to get to that you did. This past year, James, and I feel like this is near and deer also too, Chris, and this has to do with watches, Sotheby's, Pablo Picasso. So Chris first of all, this story, I mean, watches, you guys do a lot of coverage. We know you love them. But they have become quite the investment. Watches have had a kind of up and down year this year. They became huge in the past couple of years on the secondary market, which is people buying pre owned watches online or at auction. And that was partially fueled by the crypto craze. It was very much like a speculation and also a pride thing. And prices have softened in the second half of the year, which is good, I think. But Christie's and Sotheby's in the other auction houses have really started focusing on luxury because the whole secondhand market from bags to cars, to watches, to jewelry, has really, really boomed. And they don't make as much money on a particular piece, like a patek is not going to go up for as much as a Picasso, but there's a lot more protects out there than there are picassos and it's easier to play a volume game with them. So James talked to the CEO of Sotheby's about their whole luxury strategy, which is really evolved in the past couple of years. It's interesting because for a while, quote unquote luxury was something that was very much less than and less prestigious, less interesting, less volume, less room for growth than art for a lot of these auction houses. "Not done. In his mind, it's not, but it feels pretty complete when you get there. What's not done about it in his mind? I think that so he didn't have a master plan. So he, as he got more money or as he got any money, he would periodically update it and expand it and it would grow. There wasn't a sort of overarching strategy for it. And I think in his mind it can keep growing in a sort of organic way and he can keep modifying the existing parts of it once it actually continues to expand. That being said, a lot of people seem to feel that it's done. And being there myself, it definitely felt like a cogent sort of clear work of art. And sorry if you want to go see it, what this year, because she can't. Well, so a couple thousand people applied in the first week that it was said to be open. 6 people can visit at a time no more per his instructions. And something for the masses, everybody. Well, you know, and it feels like it should be, but I understand. Yeah, the thing is that you want to be there by yourself. The minute that becomes an amusement park is the minute it doesn't have this kind of otherworldly sense of contemplation. Where's it cost that to go see it? Around a $150 for general tickets in theory, but currently they're not really charging anyone anything to show up. And anyone in the surrounding counties can go for free. All right, I would love to actually just keep talking about this, but I do feel like we have to go from those massive monuments to the elite buildings known as co ops. A different kind of monument. In some people's minds. Tell us about this story. Well, how come co ops, Chris? This is a bit of a city and country special. We've reviewed two hotels. And Michael heizer's artwork is called city. And so we thought, really, let's get into commentary on the city and then let's do our own commentary on the city. And these are perceived to be relics from a different time. So just generally speaking, the kind of best co ops in New York City are on the upper east side and on Central Park west on the west side. And they are places that are owned by their shareholders, which means that everyone who lives in these buildings has a financial responsibility to maintain them. And what that has ultimately led to for decades is super, super, super restrictive, entry requirements to actually get in. And the co op board can just say, no, they can't be a part of our people heard stories. Like it's nuts. This is a thing that people outside of New York City have no idea how they work. I mean, we're talking about buildings where you have to pay in all cash in order to actually buy a place there. And you're not even actually buying the place. You're buying shares in the building. And to be clear, all cash to the tune of tens of millions of dollars and oftentimes there's a requirement that you have tens of $1 million left in your bank account. What's great about that is what's great about that is it comes with all these amenities usually, like a brand new pool, a state of the art gym. Right? Right? Yeah, terrorists. None of that. Wait, what? No. Central air all the time. That would be that would be reasonable. This is insane. This is completely crazy. It didn't co op turn down Madonna one. Yes, the bears for things. Right? Famous. Come on. That being said. This is not a piece about how awful co ops are. This is a piece about how co ops very, very slowly, have sort of woken up and realized that they are being left in the dust by super high end condominiums where you just simply own your apartment outright. Very different, less restrictions. And co ops have basically decided that they are going to lower the intro requirements ever so slightly in an effort to not only raise their property values, but also get a different generation of people inside. Hence the co op flip flop. Say that 5 times fast. Hey, we only have about a minute or so left. Chris what else is in I know there's a place Tim is dying to go to. So I'm not going to be able to go. Okay, so we have two hotel reviews. The first is wildflower farm, which is a new auberge resort upstate, which is a, it's a sort of a working farm, you can go feed chickens, you can go feed pigs, or Jim gatti, went and reviewed it and said it's very luxurious. You can send a $1000 a night to feed those chickens. And then Hannah Elliot, who is, as you know, the coolest person in the world who's also nice. We had her fly from LA to review the Chelsea hotel, which is which has been resurrected. It's still full of ghosts. It's the famous hotel where Arthur Miller stayed Leonard Cohen, Patti Smith and Robert and Robert May before were roommates there. It's been closed for many years and being Ben renovated. It's been a $100 million renovating it. And now it's this kind of combo of glamorous and also kind of crappy. It really feels like it should be. And Hannah loved it, and rooms there start at about $350 a night, so it's a little cheaper than the wildflower. Oh my God. What a great section you guys really loved it and loved reading through it. Thank you so much. Yeah, big thank you to Bloomberg businessweek arts columnist James Tom and Bloomberg pursuits editor Chris rouser. Thanks so much guys. And that wraps up the weekend edition of Bloomberg business week from Bloomberg radio. I'm Carol master, thanks so much for joining us. And I'm Tim snyk, be sure to tune into

"We're headed toward fall. The weather starting to cool down just a little bit. And i gotta say i love a change in season especially if it means. I can start actually wearing cute jackets and sweatshirts again. Oh god say. I love switching things up. But you know what's not changing. Our love for hard seltzer. The first hard seltzer with antioxidant vitamin c couldn't agree more ritchie's if you haven't heard us talk about it before antioxidant vitamins. E is extracted from the osceola cherry. A super fruit. That has thirty times more vitamin c per cup than an orange. Yes so i mean. There are plenty of hard saulters to choose from of course but with eight bold and delicious dual fruit flavors antioxidant vitamin c. Busy makes the choice a little easier. It's the summer of nineteen ninety-five and mariah carey is sliding down deeper and deeper into her massive bathtub at sing-sing she's been working her azoff for the last two years trying to find a way to feel like herself. She wants some space. Some freedom but feels like tommy's got her in one of those ninja knots. That just gets tighter and tighter. The more you wriggle and mariah feels like. She's down to her last move. The one thing. She still got some control over her voice. That amazing voice that got that audience connected so excited and right now out there in the world. Outside her bathtub battle royale is underway over that voice mariah climbs out of the tub and checks her phone nervously. Still no calls ever since that concert and schenectady mariah has been way more vocal in the studio and not just when the record light is on. She knows what she wants. She knows what her audience wants. And it's not what tommy wants at all tommy's hell bent on keeping things as white and poppy as possible. Curly italian hair cut off jeans and daddy's button-down okay. Please never say gatti's button-down again but mariah doesn't want to play that role anymore. She wants to be herself all of herself. And that means more hip hop. She's looking for her. Sound a sound. that's true to who she is on the inside and she's reached out to new collaborator for help. His name is russel. Tyrone jones of the borough of staten island or as we all know him all dirty bastard mariah asked him to do a rap feature on her new track but he's been flaky and noncommittal he's like it'll happen if it happens and since then nothing not a word mariah's worried he thinks she's too soft to pop to white. She wishes she could just get on the phone with him and explain. That's not who she is not really but it's been radio silence so mariah's slips into her white silk nightgown and climbs into bed as quietly as possible. So she doesn't wake tommy. The bed is massive. Which is good. Because they're a million miles apart right now but justice mariah's head hits the pillow. The phone rings. she jumps out of bed and grabs. It and the news is amazing. Odbc just showed up at the studio. The rap happened just like that. Oh i know it did introducing dirty doggy mariah's ecstatic and lets out a little whoop tommy stirs in bed but honestly mariah too excited about the odbc score to think about tommy. So she tells the studio guy to play the rapper her over the phone down and dirty rhymes of odbc start busting through the receiver and mariah falls. A seriously bad ass move. She puts it on speaker love it. Odbc spits out rhymes like me and mariah go back like babies with pass fires whereas like a kid on christmas morning screaming and laughing and jumping up and down on the bed. This is the music from her teenage years. This is where she's been to take her music for years and it's finally happening after the rat finishes mariah looks over to tommy is head is cocked one side. And he's got a look on his face like he smells something disgusting he says the fuck is that i can do that. Get the fuck out here with that. I can do that. okay. I can just hear it. Now come on fellow old white men. Let's do some dadgum him. Hop diggity the next tommy rallies the other suits at the label and they all tell mariah this rap with od is going to throw her fan base into shock. But mariah's not going to let them tell her what her fans want. She knows better than anyone. She's right when the single comes out. It's a huge hit point for mariah because this is honestly one of my faves. Yeah our girls getting stronger. She's getting louder she's reaching down deep but what she's finding. There isn't pretty mariah's in the studio late at night scrawling lyrics for a new song in her notebook. She's been working all day songs for her upcoming album daydream and they have names like one sweet day but tonight she's writing lyrics for her alter ego. Bianca and bianca isn't sweet. She's more in line with the angry white girl. Rockers blur hot at the moment. Singers like atlantis morrissett shirley manson from garbage variety. Nbc's these women because they get to be messy in their music their style their emotions while mariah feels like.

"Long long. I think this is a bit We have not done. Judge jimmy since At least eight years. Yeah wow but you had it at the ready zinc got all right elliot. Go first with your idea. Okay so you make people check in their phones when they go in to get their phone. They gotta pay the bill. All you know what. I don't dislike that at all. What do i let me ask you this. A line phone back because everyone's has to pay when they picked from you. Could you could you at tension. You could do it just but you could do it at the table like maybe you could still work it out. That way like you get claim. Check for your phone. I assume you're not just right now. So you have your claim check the ears. But here's a backpedal. A little bit here Because we we went our whole lives most of our lives without phones. You'd go to the movies for a phone to go to the theater without a phone I i'm having despite my own head. What if what if a child needs to get a hold of you in the old days. I guess you just call the venue or recall the vengeance. There's a problem so we're trying to solve another problem right worry about your childcare. Phone away also club. You shouldn't have children. The problem with your ideas has a phone. What if you don't have a phone well and it does occur to me that somebody might the first time they go they go through the whole rigmarole and they say i want a free meal. I'm not bringing my phone. So so that's i hear what you're saying but that i stand by my if one person a month and that's all it's going to be. Nobody wants to steal the fucking meal at a comedy club now. They're they can't even get away. Weighs you down those toasted ravioli delicious. But i when i when i was managing at acme comedy is definitely had a guy who boy he watched the whole show all night and then argued about The way he came in and and did like a new york Verbal gymnastics thing to try to get a free ticket like there are people who that's my point is that there are people who i i agree. There's people that do that but once a month isn't worth ruining every show. What if it's once back to you. What are you losing forty bucks. You're losing forty dollars and you're making everybody else happy and it's a business expense presumably. If the show is better you will get more people in the room so therefore that would make up for it. I my solution. Well actually. i want to hear laurie laurie. Each table gets its own. Ipad square device arm wrestle issue. Which one of your tuesday i wrote. I wrote down electronic because like if you go to buffalo wild wings or whatever. yeah chili's chili's has but they do have it. Yeah you just pay at the table. You don't need a human being anymore so just do that. And then if you're really worried about a lot of people skipping out then they have to show their receipt as they walk out the door people. Do they have the token there are clubs. That do you order the notches. i you pay for. And then they're brought to your table. Love it let's do it. I do like that. Squarespace dot com slash this website up and running i of course basis and hope that this. Yeah so that's where up. Yeah the square up. That's what i used to for that one time that i used to merchant you. That's what we use we use for our subscriptions for the planet we use square squares. Say slide. that's not what's the thing. that's right. Stripe yeah stripe slide you stripe circles. I came over swing set today. Member swing set swing sets a great name for something. Right named or something swing set. What are you doing comedy platform issues. We're using swing comedy. It's better than gatti's swings. That'd be a good name for for for swingers like married couples. That's an app for those guys. So it's like the of airbnb airbnb of swinging. Yeah yeah oh wow interesting. Couple of strangers strangers bring a brief somebody home. Yeah right go to the bar. Pick it up and you shouldn't corner what merch diesel. I don't sell any. I've been on the road since before the done before that i was selling a nemo pins. I was selling okay. Do people like pins they. There was a little window that people were going. Arturo Gatti vs, people were type fight where you think. So, or somebody going to fucking do the dusty Bunny and fucking snatch him? I mean, I mean it's two guys have just been around long that aren't necessarily the the Champions but are always in good fights and are just tough as fuck. I'm hungry hungry you know and and who have a lot of mileage on them but it doesn't matter. Don't mind getting their face fucking planted in age from Cowboys a cowboy fight other. You're saying, yes, exactly. And then also Randy Casa Adrian Yanez and other great fight, Ian heinisch who we had on the show. He's a guy James that he was dealing ecstasy back in a day and he was, he got caught so he fled to Europe and he was homeless in Europe, and then he ended up putting cocaine in balloon up a glass and going to Columbia and back. And then he got thrown into a prison in the Canary Islands where he became the kickboxing champion there, and they were mad. That America was goodbye champion and they threw him in Greece. Prison and became Wrestling champion, then he finally got let go and he went to Rikers Island. He got arrested at JFK because for all the stuff he did before him and he was, there was a gang that wanted to kill him or Puerto Rican. Gang an SOS which I guess deep stab on site on them and then his mom I guess he knocked out the gang member his mom put up the house and now he's in the UFC Esports for coming off a loss to cope and Gastelum but a good fighter state champ as well wrestler. So yeah,.

"We first heard this one on our radios back in 1972. The song took off, so to speak, because Rocketman became Elton John's nickname. As far as song based nicknames Go. I mean, that's a pretty good one. He embraced it. Madonna, I am told is not as thrilled all these years later to still be called material girl, because I don't know she kind of needs more material in our clothes. Have you seen her, though? Sorry. I'm going to know what is she? She's in her late fifties now, right? Pull her up. You won't recognize her. If you've seen a picture of her recently raise your hand because she does not look like the same person. Wait. Who is that lady and I heard she has a much younger boyfriend, which I'm not mad at. Yeah, to each their own on that. Obviously, I guess she had to pay for a lot of work to keep up. I don't know something went wrong there. I see what you're saying. It's not actually not quite right. It's a different person. Well, summer is officially here and it looks like the volatility may be heating up just as much as the weather, PNC Financial chief Investment officer Amanda Gatti tells CNBC. Well, we definitely think that a high volatility regime is likely to dominate the near term market outlook. We've certainly seen that over the course of 2021 so far and let me just say we're not expecting record breaking high volatility like we saw over the course of 2020. When you look at metrics like the VIX When you look at the move index as a measure of volatility for fixed income markets, both are sitting at fairly elevated levels. With the exception of the two of you, Greg and Christian. Most of us have no idea what the Vicks or the move index is, but we do know that from what she's saying in that forecast, things don't sound good. Do we need to prepare for more volatility? I just want to start by saying it's interesting. Do you ever read the comments from these commentators? When these articles get pushed out sometimes So what? I actually find the comments more interesting as a financial professional. Then I do sometimes the commentators because it reminds me of when I was in college. I remember specifically taking a human resources class. At the Fisher School of Business at the Ohio State University, which is a beautiful college issue, But I remember sitting in this class and at the time I worked my way through college as a assistant GM for McDonald's. That's what I did. I worked under a franchise E and I had a goal of being a franchisees. So I was already in the workplace environment and I don't remember what she was teaching on. But I remember very specifically her talking about something that made absolutely no sense to me. From a real life perspective. Okay, so I was always very respectful. I didn't challenge her in class. But after class, I went to her. And I said I'm a manager. And what you said didn't seem right to me and again. I don't remember what it was. I just remember the situation. And she agreed that you know it's book knowledge versus actual real life, and I think that's what happens sometimes with these economists and strategists and panel Discussions and people that they just kind of pull out because they look at on T. V In some cases. I'm sorry, but you know, I said, it's true. I think I very train. It is a lot of times, but you guys on TV. So what does that why you pulled me out? They were faced. This was what we like to say. But, you know, it's interesting when you look at the real life people in the comments and I'm thinking to an article I read recently. Similar but different talking about inflation and talking about you know, will the conversation on inflation circle back to the markets volatility? Will they create volatile markets and And one of the people. Commentators on the article was mentioning how This is the CEO of a major bank. You know how consumers are in an awesome place right now, and they've got more cash than they know what to do with And I mean, just like totally out of touch. What? He was seen an article just totally out of touch, And I mean, he said, a few things that made sense, But then I'm looking at the common comments. In one particular comments stuck out. It said something to the effect of These guys can say what they want all day long, but we all know that we're paying more for groceries, right? I think that's what these scholars and in these people that know a lot need to remember is it doesn't matter High level what their philosophy is What the rules of thumb are. What You know, this metric says or what this chart says. It comes down to what people are feeling at home. And so to kind of get back to what your original question was, which I have to admit. I don't remember what it was. We prepare for volatility, even though we don't understand all these indexes so The commentators will say yes, there's going to be volatility. Yes, we have to prepare. Uh, there might be a commentator, saying no markets at A great place no better time than ever to invest. But what are they referring to? Are they referring to IPO stocks Are they referring to Try to intrude Stocks, are they? What are they referring to? And I I think people take this stuff as the gospel without really digging down and understanding what it is they're actually talking about. So I think we should talk about the volatility. Great. Trouble is That Sometimes it is just a book knowledge, and Amanda did allude to the vics in the move, and the vics is what we would call. It's actually the CBOE Volatility index and it's what we would consider the fear Index. It literally measures the expectations of market movement within the S and P 500. It deals with S and P 500 options. So Back last fall. Lot of people were concerned that if President Trump lost the election, and Joe Biden won the election that we would see some tremendous downturn in the equity markets that didn't end up happening, But there was a lot of fear about that, and we're glad it didn't happen. Totally. Gladwell. Some portfolio managers ran for the hills. They totally went conservative. They got out a lot of their equity positions. Other individuals were afraid and sold their stocks because they weren't sure what was going to happen what we did. In our portfolios, especially are more aggressive portfolio is we added some of the Vicks So the vics was simply shorting the market a little bit on a small scale to protect ourselves in the event that we did see a drop Now we didn't end up seeing it. We ended up liquidating our vic's holdings. And yes, those Vicks Holdings did drop a little bit, but overall, our portfolios ended up doing better than if we had gone to conservative going into that uncertain time. Of the election. The move index is the fear index essentially for bonds. So there is some fear right now that interest rates are going to go up, which spells trouble for bonds, because when interest rates go up, the value of bonds does what it goes down. Down. That's correct. So let's mix up the recipe. Let's couple that a little bit with Don't forget what candidate Biden promised. It hasn't come to flourish in with President Biden yet. But he promised an increase in taxes. That's right. That's promising. It was going to be an average of.

Andrew was a sweetheart. He he dropped out of school. But he was very adamant about his Children getting the education. Brown grew up surrounded by a large extended family. His aunt Lily Brown, Clark, says Andy Jr. As she called him was a playful kid who loved to tease and entertain his cousins. Of course, he told all kinds of jokes and some of the jokes really came out of Saying he was doing himself. He could turn it around and make it something funny, She says. Brown's mother died while he was still growing up, and a relative stepped in to help raise the Children. When he had his own Children, Brown Clark says he was devoted to all seven of them. I'm sure in his head, he probably said to himself if I ever have Children. I'm gonna be a great father. I'm gonna love them. He made sure they were loved, fed, bathed, dressed at school on time, got their homework. On time. He demanded excellence in their education. One of Brown sons, 24 year old Gerard therapy, says his dad was like a best friend. It seems like no matter what he was going through, he kept a smile on his face. You know you're never you would never know. He got a smile on his face. He loved keeping a smile on other space and he was very welcoming. You know, they'll give anybody his last explaining their decision to send a local SWAT team to arrest Brown passport. Ain't County sheriff's officials have pointed to his criminal record in a Facebook video. Chief Deputy Daniel Fog cited felony drug charges. Mr Brown with a convicted felon. With the history of resisting arrest, our training and our politics indicate on the such circumstances, they're the high risk of danger. Authorities have not pointed to any specific history of violent actions by Brown. The district attorney claims that on the day he was killed, Brown's car made contact with deputies as he tried to avoid arrest. Friends and family acknowledge. It's like an incredible experience awesome. That's awesome. I wanna before we transition to far away from work in the projects that you're working on a Talk a little bit about the happy broadcast project And i guess first of all tell listeners. What that's about in like where winded it did it begin for you. It began like a couple of years ago in the. I'm an anxious person. Were just recording the voice but if we wearing video i will be like sweating. Blushing clammy hands and their the because you know these kinds of conversations are when i have to speak. Maybe because i'm speaking different language from you know italian or you know i have to open up about like personnel staff. So i'm very anxious person but one of the one of the thing that i realize at some point was giving me a lot of anxiety was like the news. You know The constant barrage of bad news a mongering headlines. All of you know we even now in a time in age or poussin's vacations. You know that comes from every single screen in our life on your wrist your smartphone or tablet your tv or computers were often lombardi by those you know headlines in once i realized that there was a big you know was the cool breeze for the majority of my anxiety. My furry action. Was i gonna all the push notifications. But i was like it doesn't feel right. You know just ignoring the bad things in the world is very dangerous because the only way we can prevent them from happening again is like knowing that they exist unknown jim their existence. So my second step was like okay is a creative person. What can i do. and so. And that's where the happy breath got started. Because i was like okay. I'm gonna go and find the positive news. PS5 is Sold Out Everywhere

"Tim gatti's win. Surprise you if i told you that absolutely every. Ps five is sold out. According to sony it would not surprise me. But like you say it like that. It's kinda like walls here. Twenty twenty headed for the details on this like i mean. I haven't read the article yet. So i'm stoked to hear exactly what they mean by this at. When is that going to change. So this is from samy barker at push square. According to according to boss jim ryan speaking with russian alad task quote absolutely everything is sold quote. Well there's been a trickle. A ps livestock returning to the retail channel. This week it's gone in minutes and the executive has revealed that after spending much of the year ensuring there's demand for the machine now. He's focused on getting enough devices into the market to meet demand quote. Everything is sold. Absolutely everything is sold. He said i spent much of the last year. Trying to trying to be sure that we can generate enough demand for the product and now in terms of my executive bandwidth. I'm now spending a lot more time on trying to increase supply to meet that demand and quote. We're still waiting for a press release on. Ps fives initial sales figures. But it looks like the company sold every single console. It can manufacture the challenge the challenge that now faces swiftly getting more units into the supply chain because it looks like the product is poised to be a difficult to find for the foreseeable future. So tim not many details. They're basically jim ryan studying and being like yeah man like my job. Early in the year was was to get to get demand up. Turns out i succeeded and these things are sold out. That's baseball and not a big surprise here. But you know. I would have liked to see a couple more actual dates okay by january. We'll have x. Amount more in the wild and blah blah blah. They're not ready to keep going and keep saying all that stuff. I i signed. It might have been on the kind of what he's separated or another suburb. Follow that went along with this story of somebody posted a picture that sony accidentally set the so someone so he set them up there. Ps five with an extra dual sense. Oh wow so box a separate as an accident and then a week later the got another box. There was another peo five with another dual sets. Tabby obviously had the the disc situation which. I'm surprised we did get a follow up and hear other. People have that experience because kevin had that theory of you know the disk versus visit physical of like. They're just like i. Well you know there are less. This disc list version was it. I i believe select been cavern credit. You deserve the goldstar behalf of greg's theory that makes afer this month so far Are is this is the star system back. Are we doing this again. Dhabi randomly give me stars dhabi choice disc. Liz arrived from sony on release and it wasn't a mistake that's interesting. You're the first person i've heard about having a disclose version. This is garbage giving goldstar. A- greg i establish more rules. Okay you're asking a lot of question. I'm gonna give you a gold started just quite you down. I just gave okay. I'm sorry i'm going to latin them star. I'm going to give bless a platinum started. Stop asking questions. Thank you snap dude. I understand kevin likes more than platinum. This is upsetting. I don't like this. I don't like how. This didn't go the way i thought i was going to go with. I like it in theory. Did play out. More people did put on subjects that they got descriptions when they ordered disclose really.
