"I'm going to go with walker. Kyle walker. Now the reason I'm going to disagree with it is that unless you see Kyle walker as a center back, if Kyle walker plays right back, that means Trent Alexander plays left bench. And I don't want that because I think tread Alexander is really good. But now you're going to already where we've gone with the guy. I thought we were going to go with a dead certainties we could both agree on. I'm saying a dead certainty for me would be walker because he's the player that so often gets the two center halves out of problem. So you're dropping Trent Alexander Arnold. Personally, I think he's a great crosser of the ball. He's a great passer of the ball. He can not defend and he has no defensive mindset whatsoever. And if I was a manager, I couldn't go into a game, playing him at right back. I could play him as a right wing back. Even though he doesn't play as a right wing back. He doesn't play as well. He could play, he could play as a right-wing man. The formation is a right wing back, would suit him perfectly. Don't have to do too much defend. As long as walker was in behind him as the right side he'd send her off because the problem, the problem you run into with that, again, is if you play him as a right wing back, then you either play three 5 two with no lingers, which doesn't seem very clever for that one because they have a lot of options out wide. And they don't have necessarily too outstanding center forwards. Or you have to place three four three and I don't know that that fits the Gary Southgate mindset play three four three because why wouldn't it? Because if you've got Harry Kane, because he's very conservative. You should join to play a back three and then two defensive midfielders. And then wingbacks. That's what you could do. And he seems to like Phillips and Declan rice as a combination in that midfield. You could have Alexander as the right wing back, the left wing backs more of a problem than bench. If he's fully fit. And then you play two players either side of or off Harry Kane. Sterling, sanjoy, whoever's fit. And they can play that role because they've played that role for arsenal. They've played that role for Manchester City, Sterling's adjustable across the front line. And then you play walker with two center backs. Yes. And the center backs, I'm not a great fan of stone, so I think he's good enough on the ball to make up for his defensive deficiencies. Harry Maguire, I've always been a fan of his. He's had a bad season. Obviously lost confidence, but we saw him at the European Championships, the outstanding. He's got to get back to that form. And if he can get that form back under ten hog, he'll be a definite pick. Okay, are your goalkeeper still Pickford? Yes. Only because I'm not a pick for Pickford, I don't like goalkeepers that remonstrate every time somebody has a shot at them that they're a bit like look as though they're losing the plot slightly. He was at fault for the goal the other night. He makes mistakes. But he was a better keeper. Do you know what? I haven't seen enough of Pope to say, yeah, he's a great goalkeeper. He's consistent. Now I'd have to go with Pickford, he's the man in the role at the moment. Yeah, I think Pope is poppy is very good. Maybe he's even a better keeper than Pickford. I do think because Pickford's been part of this system for so long. Because Pickford's, I don't even know if he's but I assume he is better than Pope with his feet, but it does seem to be part of what he wants. I don't think Southgate wants a goalkeeping controversy. No, plus Pope's going to be in the championship next year or this coming season. I mean, I would assume Southgate is going to say, all right, but let's Pickford has a nightmare. It's big for his job to lose, which is fine. And also, I think he's going to look at somebody like Aaron ramsdale and perhaps judge him to be a little too green for it. Fine. Yeah, I go back to what he said before. The three four three, if we believe that he's willing to play that set up in that way, that is the best system to cover all aspects of the pitch because you've got a midfield four. You've got three. The players are spread evenly over the pitch. So it doesn't leave you short up front. It doesn't leave you short at the back. It doesn't leave you short and wide areas. It's the safest system in some ways, three, four, three. And you can do stuff with your wide players in the sense that you can have more traditional window types. You can have Grealish coming inside. You can even get the right players, maybe even if you want to make game even more comfortable, try to replicate a little bit the way spurs play. Get somebody to impersonate someone and somebody to impersonate them. It's not easy, but not easy, but I think it's the European Championship, a Sterling. It was the best he'd played for quite some while. He was outstanding making runs beyond Harry Kane. Okay, so I'm feeling a little bit better about England. Can we also put Bellingham potentially as an alternative in the ES? Those two in midfield. But you're going to certainties, Declan rice has to be a certainty. All right, so let's recap on the surface. Yeah, yes. Okay. So you've sold me on walker since we're going three four three. So we have Cain walker, Declan rice, and we've gone with Pickford as well, aren't we? I suppose. I unless he falls apart. Yeah. I've gone with Maguire. Is that just because of a lack of alternatives? I would say so, but I think Maguire, when he's full of confidence. And I think he'll have a good start to the season. I think he's nightmares probably behind him now. I think Gareth Southgate loves him as a player. Loves him as a person. I think he'll do a good job next. I think the question with Maguire is what is he like mentally, not so much with England, but when he goes back to unite, what if Eric and hogs is, yes, your American I've watched the videos of last season. I didn't like the way you played. No, or even just to start some preseason. And he says, I like varan and Lindelof. I like veron and say these signed timber or whatever, right? I mean, it could happen. In absolute terms of variety's fate, we agree with Iran is a better player than the wire, right? Yeah. So that's one slot. If then united go and spend big money on a center back, all of a sudden, I mean, South Gate might have the dilemma of, okay, he's not playing regularly. Do I still do I still pick him? And then I think because we attach so much relevance to the captaincy. I know there's been talk. He's going to put it up to the wires a leader on this team and that's just going to create a whole bunch of other issues and more psychological baggage that for Maguire to deal with. I have to dealing with a ton of it last year. That would be my concern there. But yeah, I look at this, I think it's fair to say England are in better shape in Germany. Yes, I would say so. And another player that doesn't matter how he's been playing for Manchester City, when the big games have come around for England, Sterling has always been picked by south cape, and he did the European champion because going into the European Championship, Sterling was totally out of form. He was the player that everyone was saying, he had probably been left out the side, all these other players were going to come in Sancho was going to come in, saka was going to come in. And they did to a certain degree. But the player that played every game and played very well was Sterling. Okay. So we were a bit vague on the two wingers, right? There's a lot of options. Sterling, Sancho, Grealish, Foden, who I think is perhaps the best of all. Mount who's not really a winger, but would have to adopt inside. I mean, actually, the word I'm out. Does he get kind of, is he kind of the odd man out because you don't want him in the two in front of the back four? In front of the defense. If you're playing a three, so three, four, three, you don't play with you can play without an out white players up front, but you're not going to because the wingbacks would particularly if it was true. Alexandra Arnold gets going to come inside. He's going to come and accommodate me. Absolutely. As he probably plays for Chelsea quite a lot of the time. But narrower for Chelsea. And you could do the same with Sterling..

"A bit more disappointing, I guess, because you still need Garrett Bella is best for that team to do well. Well, you say this is the greatest generation or the golden generation. I mean, you go back and I mean, I remember, I think the 58 team is a team that qualified for the World Cup. They went to the World Cup. They drew all three of their group games, and then they lost to Brazil. Brazil, by the way, that when Brazil won their first World Cup in 1958, again, I wasn't around for that. That looks pretty good to me. Yeah, yeah, no. I mean, I think back even to the team, I think it was before the 94 World Cup when they were playing Romania. I think that was a team of you had Neville southall. Yeah, yeah. It's getting older, but had been one of the very best goalkeepers of the world, I believe you still had I'm going from memory here. So I could be all wrong. Feel free to correct. I think you still had rush and Mark Hughes. I'm just pretty good, right? And then they miss a penalty. It's a penalty off the crossbar, which would have given them a win over Romania and then Romania go and score at the other end. And they get knocked out. So by the way, that was a 2014 World Cup, right? 1994 or 94 was the first one 32. But it's a different, so they've had it. Here's one that's come together, and it's come together for three major tournaments. And I think that's absolutely huge. Looking ahead to the World Cup, now we know what this group looks like. It's United States. It's England. It's Iran and its whales. So, you know, I hate predictions, but trying to have to do that because we can talk about the makeup of the group now, which we weren't able to do. Ahead of the draw. On paper, I think it's England to England can only screw it up, right? Yeah, yeah, they have to be favorite to top that group. And then it's open. I'm going 90% for England. I don't see how they would have to really, really be something major. After that, do you put those three teams on the same level, the U.S.? Iran and Wales? Yeah, you can say that maybe. The U.S. because of that generation coming through, but the lack of experience can make them slightly ahead of the other two but Iran have had a lot of experience. They have really good collective, I think, identity. And then for words, as we say, Gareth Bale is fit and in his best form, he can he's a world class player in those three teams is the only world class player right now. Iran, the USA have potential work class players in the bay like politic and raina and all of that, but right now they don't. There's not one more class player in that you can say, okay, it's world class. Bailey still wore class player. So maybe for that, where is a slightly ahead? I don't know. I find that really open between the three of them for I think the dynamics of this group are going to be really interesting. And I think back to the Euros of England's group stage, where remember they had that draw with Scotland, right? I think obviously whoever gets the point is. We can look at it and say, they should win all three games. But it's Gary Southgate, England. It's a psychodrama. The fact that when England play teams where there's familiarity, as we saw with Scotland, sometimes it doesn't go so well. Yeah, it will be with Wales. You.

"Great Jack temple to close this show with the most important question in every regard. They may or may not be back, but I hope he is for this one because this is right in his Wheelhouse. Hey guys, thanks for having me. Jack here from San Diego. Yeah, come in with a heavy hitting question here. And in fact, I actually think the color is living coral, which I actually have ironically have a mug from 2019 with pantone's color of the year. But I was wondering, living coral is this a Devo color or a Raj color? You're talking of course. You should explain what you're talking about. I love the way you just got right into living coral without explaining what you connecting it to for the other listers, which I respect in every regard. They know. They would know. They saw it. But yeah, I was kind of curious about maybe a fan had run nearby the field on the sidelines and the touch box, but it turns out it was actually triple G rocking a living coral colored, very casual T-shirt and the sidelines of a major game or a friend. Can I ask you a question? How different is melba to salmon? And my color blind, do I feel like they are? Are they cousins, Melbourne salmon? I've never heard of Mel B I apologize. It's probably my Midwestern original ignorance, but I think it's living coral. I'm pretty sure I've locked it down. I got a pantone swatch. What did you do professionally Jack temple? I'm a Doc. Doctor. I just love a dog. It's got a sophisticated read on the pantene chart. You know, if you come at me with living coral, ultimately, it's one of those arguments which are often happening in footballing circles where someone comes research a confident point that the listener just backs down and she says, yeah, yeah, you're right, Jack temple. You're right, yeah, it is living coral. So I'm going to see that point to you. That it is the living coral. And then the B side of your question was, is it more a Devo color or a rod color and a believe we basically got incredible technical problems, his Internet is down and he's just facing just first world national do you hear me though, roger? What would you pack up your bag? And I have strong and I have strong opinions about this. Because I really learned, I never knew that coral was a color. Until I spent 18 years old, 1718, I was playing a tennis tournament in France. And I'd lost early as I did in many of the tennis tournaments I played on red clay. And I went to this little bathing suit, because I wanted to go to the beach, and I bought a pair of swim trunks. And they were this color that I would have described as melba, roger, or orange, or light sort of faded orange. And the woman in the store said, we cry, which is the French word for coral. And that's what she described them as kohai. And I do think that that shirt that Greg was wearing is quray. It is coral. I think that melba is a little bit more, has a bit more color to it. I think it's a bit more pink or a bit more orange. It's a more vibrant color. This is this faded color of the underwater coral. So I think that's a perfect description of that color. There was a pocket T-shirt. Very low neck, I mean, respect, it was a bit of maybe rag and bone, almost certainly from one of those sort of Instagram ads that comes up and 80 saw someone wearing a sporty T-shirt. I thought I could make some bounce passes in that. I'll look good on the sideline. I've never seen any manager anywhere in the world, where a coral pocket T-shirt on the sideline. So it was a new thing for me. Yeah, I think Greg's got this idea that it gives his team a sense of when he speaks to his soldiers, he fought with Joan of art. It's every soldier. No matter what the odds were, no matter how afraid I was when I went into battle with Joan of Arc, when I looked at Joan of Arc with her broadsword, just her confidence emitted an incredible sense of belief and I knew when she was with us, we couldn't lose. And I think I believe Greg has taken that philosophy on that. He believes if he's the most affable, manager on the sideline is players will be like, um, Greg's too sexy for his shirt. And the other manager looks a bit like a duffer, then they're going to play hard. Like, Gary Southgate, you mean. Yeah, who would you rather, you know, you would, essentially, football players are very base human beings. They spend 90 minutes, run up and down the field, just thinking, would I? Yeah, would. You would, wouldn't you? And so which manager would you more at the two? Would it be Gareth Southgate? That's a terrible choice. This is a terrible choice. Before and after chart. And the waistcoat. Oh, and this decency is middle these middle England decency, or would it be? Who's the other one? I don't know each other. I've been taking the year required manager. Oh my dean's fourth official. What? My eyes. My retina completely burnt out. I come home. So here's what I would say to pull it together. I did have a point on this issue. Oh, this is it. So the Financial Times. One of the joys of booth of our weekend, right? Yeah, I love it. I love the Financial Times weekend edition..

"Not really, mate. I mean, does it matter? Community shield final could be anywhere. It could be Old Trafford, Leicester could be Cardiff wherever you want to take it. The only reason this might not or a little bit is, you know, you're not going to have 90,000 fans there. So maybe instead of Leicester, the king power, could they have chosen a bigger stadium or a track for springs to mind, but no, I don't care. It's right. The community shield is not important. I know people in my country, Italy, we love to it's like the super couple. It's so important they love counting in his trophies. It's not a trophy, not a real thing. So no, nobody cares. I lost it. I lost it. 5, four, I think, or four, three against cantona's lead side, so I'm not bothered mate doesn't really count if I had a warning. I would have said absolutely it matters. Right, what's happening I'm reading the Nutella that Mike Riley could be replaced as a Premier League referees with Howard Webb as one of the candidates. Yeah, look, I don't think it's a secret that it's been a rough year for Premier League referees. Maybe even a rough couple of years. And according to the telegraph, a lot of clubs are putting pressure on the PG MOL, which is the, which is the body that supplies and trains the referees for Premier League matches to go and make some major changes. They're going to add the staffing left levels. They're going to. They're going to, I think, a psychologist, they're going to overhaul the way they the way they operate a little bit. I met Mike Riley. I really, really, really like Mike Riley as a person. I think some of the problems they've had have to do with the fact that certain referees stuck around way too long. There's no, there's no age limits in the Premier League and obviously we know that moss and Atkinson, some of these guys are moving on. There's going to be a generational change. Maybe there could be a broader change, but if I were to ask you, I mean, you watch football from around Europe. Do you think the officiating in the Premier League the last two years has been as good as the football? I think in my mind, obviously through COVID times and through new VAR times, I think these referees have had it tough. I certainly think when you watch in some of the games decisions could be better, they could be made a lot quicker. I still think I don't know if you agree gab. I think there has to be communication why that's via audio to let the fans know what's happening inside the stadium because it feels a little bit. It feels odd to me that if you're sitting on the couch indoors, you've got more information watching a game of football on TV. Then you have if you're a paying customer inside the stadium, you're not really sure what's going on regarding VAR. I don't know if that's anything that you think could be done or improved on. I mean, that I agree with you there. That's more of a procedural thing, I think, you know, it would certainly help. And to some degree, they tried doing this kind of unofficially by the broadcasters. They should explain if it wouldn't be our intervenes and makes a certain decision about why that decision was made. But I think more generally there is kind of a generational overhaul in primarily referees. I think there's been a bunch of guys who, you know, have been around for a long, long time, well before VAR, I don't know that they're necessarily suited to operating in a VAR environment. And I think the PG MOL has to be empowered to make the changes that they feel that they need to make. And when you've got a bunch of older referees, we've kind of been there done that. I think it's harder to make those changes. You're going to be more conservative. Whether you need to change Mike Riley or not, or simply change the way that PGM oil operates. That's a question above my pay grade. But for me, the last couple of seasons as a whole have not been good. Is that a thing abroad when you watch serian La Liga? You know, you mentioned there about the referees in England can play or can certainly play on and a certain level for whatever age they want. Is there an age limit in cellular genome? Yeah, I mean, they follow the FIFA guidelines, which is 45. And you've had and then the reason they have those guidelines in place is it's not so much like you suddenly become a bad referee after 45. But it has to do with the legacy of officiating. It has to do with helping to develop kind of the next generation of referees opening up spots for them. It has to do with the fact that referees not really a lifetime career. So it's always the assumption, even though the professional, that these guys are going to have other jobs that you're going to want to dedicate themselves to. I think one of the issues that once referees became professional and they could make a nice living in the Premier League, if they had side gigs, those kind of went by the wayside a little bit. And so, you know, these guys probably wanted to stick around past 45, a few more years, so that they could make some money because some of them I think weren't very clear on what they were going to do next. You know, they can't all go into the PGM or work on referee education. Gareth Southgate has said that maybe if England had shown more confidence and quote, talked a bit more about winning the Euros from the start rather than just reaching the final, then they would have actually done it. Don, do you understand what he's saying? So get what he's saying, but how do you measure that like, oh yeah, let's talk about it a little bit more. That means that might give us a little edge and we could actually win it. I don't know how you read too much into that gap because if you talk about a competition and you say, yeah, we're going to win it and we're confident and you lose it, you look like a bit of a numpty you look like a little bit of an arrogant fool. So I understand why or what Gareth Southgate's saying, I think he wants his players to express a little bit more confidence and actually believe in themselves a little bit more for at the same time it feels a little bit dangerous. You don't want to be arrogant. Yeah, I got two things to say to this. And look, and I say this as somebody who really genuinely likes Gary Southgate the person. Number one, you want him to be more confident and believe they can win it. And hey, look, you're the national team coach. Why don't you talk about it? Why don't you seize the responsibility? Why don't you come out and say we were semifinalists in the World Cup before? I think we can go and win this. Prussia. Number two. Just as important as that, it may be in the final. Don't make a bunch of defensive changes and sit back after sport taking the lead so that you invite pressure forward from the other team. Why don't you go and try to beat them? I haven't said I kind of feel like he was way too defensive throughout the tournament. I agree. Right, Pelé has talked to Instagram to send a message to the Russian president Vladimir Putin calling for the end of the war in Ukraine and called invasion wicked. Your take gap. I find this interesting because kind of thing is 80s, right? He doesn't need to do this. He really doesn't need to do this. He can sit back and Joey's children be grandchildren, whatever enjoy the fact that, you know, he wakes up every day in his Palais. He decides to go out and talk about this. He talked about how he's met. He met Vladimir Putin at the 2018 World Cup and whatever. I know people say that athletes shouldn't shouldn't speak up about politics, or at least it used to say that. I think kinds have changed a little bit. I think a lot of people do. I think it's almost expected of people now. And well, doctor Perry, at his age, he can do whatever he wants. And personally, I like the fact that he's speaking out because I think pieces are really important messenger. Absolutely. Right, Don, that brings us to an end. Thank you so much for filling in for Jules. We're going to be back on Monday or rather. Coleman permitting, I'll be in a studio with Jules on Monday. But.

"Of course this. Get a head on it. Maybe too fast. It is the audio of all audiences. That's gonna say, I was gonna try and put you down in my awful English way and say, you sound bored, there's not a complete sound board, without a more entire orgasm. And then you drop it the Tyler gasm, you are always welcome, just the joy. I've got to say my Wednesday night. Whenever happened, my spirits are lifted by your presence in our loving arms. Is your question? Well, in the appreciate that sir Bennett, my whole question is at the very least of the presence of one Jared Bowman. And one Jared Bolton has been so tremendous this season over West Ham and his whole time to have Andre yarmulke still on the sidelines. And my question for you is, will he get that call up? Finally, court from Gary Southgate in the English national team come the next sign England have a hole gathering. Oh, it's Steiner. I'm aware of the time I'm going to let you take this beauty first and then we're going to cut you loose so that TV TV TV can go down. But Jared Bowen, the Taylor 12th eye. I've been trying to get that to catch on and it's just not catch it on. But whenever I see his little face on the television, I do think English Taylor 12 man in every regard. But what you're sent to that, look, I don't have a great feel for that. I think you should definitely delve into it more. But first I have to say, I'm glad I didn't leave before that before that whole presentation because I posted I have hosted hundreds of green rooms and I've never, I've never had the pleasure of a guest to come up with their own sound effects. That is some mind-blowing stuff. You James needs his own show. This is Andrew Jones makes this green room the Julian green room of green rooms. Well, I do do hoses show on Mondays and Fridays at noon called overall and Mark, I will be in the next room for you guaranteed all this. Yes. The Barclays sound effect, that will go down all the way with that. And real quick, what you answer. I wanted to give a shout out to John sergeant, who was at the 18th today, but probably because he was expecting his first child but not a city at the moment. That's been the things speculation with that. But gentlemen go right ahead. You're a beautiful human being. Andrew Jones. Josh charging is about to have a baby. Well, it sounds newsy. Yeah, like his partner had been inspecting for a while with that and you know Dean Smith actually likes y'all sergeant in terms of his work rate. So when he was out the 18 all together, you have Quincy of U.S. and T fans freak out and say, oh, this is definitely time now for John sergeant to make the move and all that as U.S. MNT fans tend to do when things don't go tremendously well for a situation, but very well. If you don't understand Josh shawty, you don't understand football just so it is a beautiful football striker. He's a post goal scoring taker, which I'll explain, but I want to cut the great Steiner loose. You beautiful human being. You know, this inspired me the last few seconds. This might be a controversial question. I hope I'm not putting too much on the spot. No, please. Fan fantasy World Cup final. England V United States, what does Raj Bennett do? Oh, that's not. First of all, first of all, the reality is the next World Cup. I don't like to spoiler alert for anyone. But clearly Qatar are going to be in the final. The real question is who are going to be facing in the final? I mean, we're not all schlepping over there. Just to, you know, we're not keeping the whole bloody schedule. We're not, you know, celebrating a World Cup that soaked in blood, unless they have committed so much of this World Cup that they clearly are going to have to utterly commit to killing the goose and lead the golden egg and destroying all credibility. It will be guitar against somebody. The honest truth also is, you know, the answer to that story. I cheer for, you know, in a sense the American represents the early early early clashes in the American Revolution. I have cheered for one side and for one side only. And I'll say we had polar bear as the holding midfielder. So it's not a 2010 I cheered with all of my heart and all of my soul. I rode with team America in every regard. It is not even close, genuinely, my adoration and my life. I definitely have muscle memory of the England team, but it's a muscle memory synced in disappointment. So it's America in every regard. If America playing, there's not a single team that I could think of. Even if even if there are 11 Rebecca lows on the other team, a team of 11 Rebecca lose man, that's a 2020 2026 Jerry world in Dallas. We're going to rig it and we'll have we'll finally have that England USA dream final. Oh, man, you and I, you and I will be watching together hugging the bigger question is you'll probably.

"Against Jamaica. So property mistake. Yeah, but the article in The Guardian said that at that point, England would start considering protesting the World Cup and guitar and the behavior of the Qatari government. They'd mentioned to other countries have already started protesting. What are the odds that actually happens? And what are the odd international teams joined suit? And are willing to stand up and call out what's going on in that country. Ken Sykes, thank you for that question. It follows last week's green room. We're really befuddled about what team should do about what fans should do with this awful normality. And they use that word loosely but, you know, we're all like X is qualify for the cartel World Cup as if of course the World Cup is in guitar. It's an obscenity that World Cup is in Qatar. It's an absolute someone monstrosity. It's ridiculous. We should never please. The number of deaths to COVID. I remember tweeting out early when a 100,000 were broken. I tweeted out, we should never lose sight of what a number that is. And thousands of people tweeted me and said, we've already normalized it. It's already been normal. I feel the same about Qatar. People have died. There's an awfulness that in plain sides clearly about money and we should never normalize at qataris hosting the World Cup, but yes it is. And England congratulations as you question suggest qualified yesterday. They scored 52 goals in 2021. I think they scored 52 goals in the game yesterday. But this is a record for them in a calendar year and Gary Southgate. And the players to their credit have been a great pains to say that they are beginning to think about how they will protest and Qatar. I will say it's sad to me that Norway who are the team who protested from the very beginning in their footballing heaters will say a tokenistic way with their t-shirts. Didn't will not qualify for the U.S. for the Qatari World Cup. And I do wonder what these teams are going to do. You know, in the run up to the I have said this before, another green room with football has always gone to the highest bidder. It's always been a lady Olympics. It's often been a totem of propaganda, the Mussolini World Cup, the 1978 World Cup is most pertinent here. By the way, the Russia World Cup, let's be candid. We normalize the heck out of that for Putin. But the 1978 World Cup was one that was won by the generals of Argentina and military dictatorship and FIFA traitor, hand them a propaganda coup and footballers did protest at the beginning. There.

"That quote on yesterday showed dots the most insane sentence that i have already in football. I choose the player. We're going to kick the penalty. Never work like that would never work that. If i'm a greenish character. And i know i'm one hundred million poem player eventually talking i'm going in mindset shipper talent experienced. I think i'm listen. Forget nineteen year old. I'm going to take that responsibility. I agree with you jack. Relish would been more ready than soccer or essential. Roy came with similar sentiments. Saying if you'll sterling greeley's you cannot sit there and watch your. Kate woke up ahead of you. You cons jack. Greenish responding to that quote. Saying i said. I wanted to take one. The gaffer is made so many right decisions through this tournament and he did tonight. But i won't have people say that. I didn't want to take piano when i said i will. Let's welcome in showy native annuity to the show native. What do you make it at all. Sorry one second needs to show support martini. An england interesting interesting. Listen to the show. Yesterday there was some takes which you guys delivering. And i don't fully agree with everything that's being said because i understand the process which they use because i was paused that same sort formula when i was playing under twenty one thousand two thousand and and there are place who wants to take penalties but as far as it goes what they do in training even though you can't replicate that big moment fast of those matter and i think for those england players the ones who stepped forward they would understand why somebody is going ahead of them will why the orders how it was because they seen those people step up and stripe penalties. It's the same so of argument where say someone funny might step up to take a free kick from twenty yards from the outside we look and say why is this guy taken. It will reasons taken is because this is what they've practiced. This is what they've seen so it makes sense to them. And you know once once you lose a penalty shootout you analyze everything but for me the is might look at the penalty shootout. Sorry jordan pickford save the same penalties as donna rumor but because england missed missed. One more. everything's wrong with england. Everything's great for italy. And not something i don't really buy into. Stevie was your take on regarding the way in which the penalties were set up in the fight. You've got soccer. A young sir in his debut tournaments taking that fifth penalty. I have absolutely no problem with him. Taking the penalty at all none whatsoever. I do have a problem taking the first one. If it was my choice. I would have him going either foster second right because it ended a day. He's standing there thinking about this for fifteen minutes and he's he's a teenager and he's inexperienced so that's the only thing i've got no problem with. Take it but it should've taken ella. Should've taken it false. Hurricane and maguire should have been the one taken the taken. The death penalty no question. What about the argument jack. Greeley should've taken one ahead of soccer. Well well to needham's point why not grill getting asaka because is probably stop. Ten away in trenton. And said i wanted to take a penalty. I'm going to school. So you're going to run the day of and see or jack greeley. She's more experienced now. Jack vilis has taken five pounds in training and four of them but because he's more expedience. Let's make john the penalty. Why would you do that. Makes no sense ida. The kid was confident of golden from spot. And that's why. I have a problem ticket but not a number five. That's the only problem. Is the point. I think the point. She's not if somebody should have taken the penalty of somebody. Else is the point that gary southgate tells us that decide who's going to shoot owes not gonna shoot so it's nice as greece shoe gonna do no. No but i'm saying let me finish jaggery said okay. I'm marie to shoot. Don't shoot okay. Why we don't have the answer that the fifa who shot where ready to shoot him show on the doesn't say that because otherwise you would say you know what decide but they will you shoot it. The union say that six people say i'm taking it who decides who the fiber so then the coach. Tony saying he's saying i choose to shot. It was gonna shoot on not for me. I hear if you don't agree in many don't want to shoot you shoot. It does what i hear. That's the same story. If sakasi our shoot. I have no problem but it's not what i hear. I hear that some players we're forced to should or the way the reason to say. I decided we should saw frank not causing the world's going to see by the way you what he's twenty said. Who's very spoken to and i've done that my sale of us every single one. Do you wanna take one or you know it. Sure that's the question right. Exactly you either get all well one. It's either yes or if you want and then the coach cakes cd and then judging by what you've done in practice it's totally agree with you. But i don't regret any word of what i say yesterday. When i heard garry southgate the post conference a press conference after the game he said i decide who is the ticker when you say that immense. Even if they don't want they go for it. Otherwise what the point to say that. I think it's a little bit of semantics there frank. I think what he's saying is essentially taking the responsibility away from the players and look. I made the choices. This is not about players that didn't want to take a penalty and allow the nineteen year olds to take a penalty. I made the choice as to who was going to be in the order. Because of what i've served in training but you think that there is no arguments in on the original discussion. So why roy can you saying that. Why is that. it shouldn't be a nineteen year old. No experience. I go stevie. I don't have any problem than saka if he wanted to shoot. The penalty goes for. It has never taken a penalty in his life. More time to do it when you have rain turning has been in the penalty shootout short. So it means that grass gary cells. Get something to do with the takers. That each chose between soccer and british. Yeah and he's saying that's what he's saying is native yes so sorry to jump in like do some great points being made there and i think frank is the case of semantics like southgate has decided what the order would be from one through to eleven. He hasn't decided somebody won't take a penalty. Because if you're on the field there's a chance to take the penalty but vise the best lineup of players..

"It's an e cetera england of taking it very well as you can imagine it will end is so no not again heartbreak. A lot of questions of course about the penalty takers and why in fact it was soccer. A teenager who who's at the last one is about southgate. Said i decided on the penalty take is based on what they've done in training. That's michael. it totally rests with me. We were through them in training. This is the order we came to. We knew they were the best. Take as we have left on the pitch. This was the reaction. The boys heard that quote on yesterday showed dots the most insane sentence that i have already in football. I choose the player. We're going to kick the penalty. "It right if he'd gone attacking their one this with less less of a word when you put a situation and you win the game. I don't care whether you live in people on the line if you win the game then you've done what's needed to win the game as me right. I'm going to tell you. This game was destined to return. No i'm glad high became schooled. Because the where he says t- mop is not set up to help hurricane holly he's hardly the any opportunities so far in this tournament and he gets one real one and he scores. I was glad to see that. But i'll tell you what he's not doing them any favors you shed. Eight players. hugh northern their job is to not let pasta and basically. You'll even three to go home with well because we can go to santa bikes on bike all time. So you're relying on two players. One one's a kid soccer and then of course you got staling who heard about into the season we city but in this tournament has been fantastic as he's what gone four games so having said all this still winning. Yeah and i'm betting you the team that steps on the field. The quarter-final right. It's going to be the same just out of interest if we spoke to gary southgate before the game would he said let. Here's my plan up to seventy minutes long and then introduce chat grievous. Just mix things up a little bit up top and that's exactly what happened or does that. Is that in game decisions. Well consider them the. He's done that before. And it's been successful then. It's not a bad thing to fall back on right. I mean these. Coaching staff can see you know what this team was. Stanton's good enough to win this game. Things are not going well or we need a goal only to get forward quicker or if it's some we have to do moving forward. He's the first guy off the bench again so if we look at the message you sent me frank muslim of abusive language in never never do that. They were just said boring. Yeah it was in a way as you said if you not germano english and you just watch the game you know that we say neutral way. There is no for me excitement away. But i will say that talking about what you. Just say in putting greedy sean. It's absolutely fantastic. Coach different options in the game and it was very defensive. Say it wasn't a favor for kane that's for sure but let's go back to that if we can all agree that if you don't make mistakes you won't consider goal and you will have a chance to school and and football is made of mistakes that you take opportunities for and and try to score a goal. England made less mistakes than germany today. And i will say offensively more than defensively to a to a chance the changes because you are switched clear chances for germany. Yes we when we saw three kitchens. The of the day engli- goals all those chances. It's.

Harry Maguire and Reece James sent off as England lose to Denmark at Wembley

"Harry Maguire managers are get booked twice in the space of half an hour reese James Manages to get sent off after the final whistle and England lose at home to Denmark. Chose Maguire's having a rough time. Do you blame him or do you blame the managers who keep playing him? To start. Button, ready with United Against Peres I thought that was even worse with England on on Wednesday night I mean why is going on? There's a second yellow card he tackles with his left foot right-footed. Like maybe I don't know. But even just defy. Logic of anything and he's just I think he needs a break. I think you need to stop playing for a while. I think just needs to refocus reenergize just just having breakfast just stop do something. To do something bit, don't play with united at the weekend against to. Surly doppler with united. against. Chelsea and Aston, which are the next to. Premier League. I think it could get worse. Okay. But I agree with you on the wire but should we be called? I know we all love Gary Southgate because he's not very nice guy you don't like him. Till you're going to blame him as well for. What Clearly you can see that. Lacks confidence lacks form likes pretty much everything. Much much fitness sharpness everything what you play him was you pay me in the game night. This were already you were not good against bedroom, for example and not. Even McGuire and then you play in a game like this again I i. think you need a break I think everybody can see it and I just hope you get say for his own sake I will say this about southgate because we're seeing the same film that unwound with every single previous in England coach. Everybody jumped on the bandwagon. So great it's love show good whether at the time was competitor happened with hearts and Ericsson and then all of a sudden they turn on him and totally go the other way. Observe Gab look at the last four games, your food not run.
