"You <Speech_Male> <Silence> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Music_Male> can just go <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> figure <Speech_Male> out <Speech_Male> what ten <Speech_Male> things you can do. <Speech_Male> I don't know about that we're <Speech_Male> watching zoo <Speech_Male> shows tempo. <Speech_Male> There's an animal <Speech_Male> pops up that <Speech_Male> we had never heard <Speech_Male> of or a new one that <Silence> we didn't know the name <Speech_Male> of <Speech_Male> and now dad <Speech_Male> google it i <Speech_Male> said what did you just say to me. <Speech_Male> He's a google <Speech_Male> i was. I know <Speech_Male> i'm not googling. <Speech_Male> It god damn it. <Speech_Male> What do you say. <Speech_Male> Where does <Speech_Male> didn't you say <Speech_Male> he asks a less <Speech_Male> alexa things. <Speech_Male> Yes he does <Speech_Male> no. he doesn't ask <Speech_Male> alexa. <SpeakerChange> he gives alexa. <Silence> Instructions <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> gives her orders <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> so Yeah <Speech_Male> to <Speech_Male> to greg. <Speech_Male> If that's the <Speech_Male> that's the <Speech_Male> reason. I think <Speech_Male> i think the sticky <Speech_Male> stuff was was <Speech_Male> a massive <Speech_Male> reason. Why <Speech_Male> strikeouts were <Speech_Male> astronomically <Speech_Male> up in the beginning <Speech_Male> of the season jay <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> publicly that <Speech_Male> it certainly did affect. <Speech_Male> Look at his numbers. This number's <Speech_Male> were complete dog. Shit <Speech_Male> he also <Speech_Male> said he <Speech_Male> also said he gave up on <Speech_Male> last season like literally <Speech_Male> he was like. I just wasn't <Speech_Music_Male> mentally. I gave up. <Speech_Music_Male> They <Speech_Male> took away my ipad. <Silence> I gave <Speech_Male> up. It's <Speech_Male> like you don't take <Silence> away. My technology <Speech_Male> a <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> three game series against <Speech_Male> kansas city. Before <Speech_Male> heading to fenway. <Speech_Male> We'll <Speech_Male> obviously talk before <Speech_Male> that series. So <Speech_Male> we'll we'll sort of <Speech_Male> preview the series <Speech_Male> on maybe friday fives <Speech_Male> but i think that's a massive serious <Speech_Male> look forward to like <Speech_Male> i said i'm <Speech_Male> eyeballing these <Speech_Male> these alias <Speech_Male> games more than more <Silence> than these <Speech_Male> out of <Speech_Male> division games you <Speech_Male> have to but again <Speech_Male> the reason why <Speech_Male> these additives <Speech_Male> are important and just winning <Speech_Male> games in general is important <Speech_Male> is because if <Speech_Male> there is a team that's front <Speech_Male> of that's losing you better <Speech_Male> damn well take advantage of <Speech_Male> that <Speech_Male> If you're going to happen. I <Speech_Male> mean if you're going to five hundred <Speech_Male> against these teams. <Speech_Male> You need to <SpeakerChange> win when they <Speech_Male> lose. <Speech_Male> One of franco's <Speech_Male> being called up this is <Speech_Male> a kind of an <Speech_Male> unorthodox moved by <Speech_Male> tampa <Speech_Male> like they <Speech_Male> will usually <Speech_Male> slow play <Speech_Male> to maximize <Speech_Male> value <Speech_Male> for their prospects but <Speech_Male> they might be seeing <Speech_Male> their season starting <Speech_Male> to slip and <Speech_Male> then they're doing something <Speech_Male> in order to turn <Speech_Male> that around <SpeakerChange> by calling <Speech_Male> up franko <Speech_Music_Male> i also <Speech_Male> think he's he's <Speech_Male> the <Speech_Male> world player. <Speech_Male> Yeah number one <Speech_Male> prospect in baseball <Speech_Male> kids. <Speech_Male> I saw this <Speech_Male> comment i was. I remember <Speech_Male> doing a preview at the <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> guy in tampa. <Speech_Music_Male> And <Speech_Male> i think i'm <Speech_Male> perfect on my <Speech_Male> prediction for tampa. He was <Speech_Male> very wrong. <Speech_Male> Never see peralta <Speech_Male> this year. Never see <Speech_Male> the kid. That's <Speech_Male> that's up your pitching <Speech_Male> the prospect. That came <Speech_Male> over both <Speech_Music_Male> fulton play <Speech_Male> good. So you're <Speech_Male> good at making tampa bay <Speech_Male> rays predictions but <Speech_Male> number could about making. <Speech_Male> I'm a. I'm <Speech_Music_Male> good at making the ones <Speech_Music_Male> that come against <Speech_Music_Male> the yankees like that's something <Speech_Male> bishop up for sure. <Speech_Male> Tampa bay rays. <Speech_Male> Get rid of export. <Speech_Male> It doesn't matter. <Speech_Male> There's go plug in the next <Speech_Male> guy which <Speech_Male> i said <Speech_Male> that might fourtou have like <Speech_Male> a pinch. Hit go ahead <Speech_Music_Male> double against the yankees <Speech_Music_Male> at some point this season. <Speech_Male> Probably it'd <Speech_Male> be later in the season. What he <Speech_Music_Male> learns the system <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> whatever. <Speech_Male> That system is <Speech_Music_Male> going to do <Speech_Music_Male> it for this

"It's red and dreamed and blue purple starter. They're letting him go deeper into games at is. It was surprising but now over his last five games. He's only averaged for under five innings. A start and that's just putting more pressure he's given up seven home runs in five starts so during our hormone has kind of come back down to earth a little bit and He had been on such good run. So it's one of these things like we were kind of all expecting it. Well also we've. We've seen her mind be really good in you. Know months a two-month spurs he's been he's been that guy but he's also a guy just hasn't had a ton of work load in a long time so i'm sure there's some there's some fatigue here he's got almost hit another gear to get into The rest of the season so would it. Would it surprise you if we saw tired arm. Ten ten ten day. I l stint for d'amico her mind so that he could get his body going again. Just rest rusty arm and then see where they land. We're not super. Nothing would surprise me tired arm. Tired arm is the easiest thing for pitcher because the dead arm business that are that are what are you do. There's nothing to say. there's nothing to see. That was always the allston joke when starting pitcher was struggling. It's like he's got a dead arm. He's gonna miss two starts like mental reset visits those cl- classic in the mid two thousand and the fact that the fact that they could go for a. Let me ask you a question. Do you think that any sticky bowl stuff has something to do with carmont. Struggles specifically binger. Hermann yeah i mean it's definitely release that guy this guy guy this guy. I don't think it's this guy that guy thinking in general offense has been up the last couple of weeks directly correlated. Yeah it's direct runs per game or up since the sticky stuff has been talked about took a direct correlation to why i know what you want to say. No you go get identify who you who you think was affected by its. I think everyone's getting affected. Because i think we learn the more we learn about. The sticky stuff is that it was it was throughout the league. it wasn't us slated to one one or a few guys. It was the entire league using some form of sticky substances. Maybe some guys just preferred the rosin sunscreen or the pine tar and sunscreen like tyler. Glass lied about. Or maybe some guys. We're using the trevor bauer stuff. That was sticking to the palm of his hand that he posted on instagram. Like i i. Don't i don't know what they were using. But they were all using something. Yes so we'll see there's a there's going to be a It's now the pitchers to figure out in the middle of the season. I didn't get to talk about the glass now coming out from last week i feel like i still have. I still have things to say you wanna do. I think that when you're when you're going back and i was. I was listening to the interviews and you see the headlines on what he said. You're like oh come on. What are you doing but then when you go go back and listen to the entire interview and listen to the context of everything not just what the headlines grab from that he's i i don't think he's necessarily blaming it. He's just using he's telling you the whole situation and what happened and then the fact is that he. He stopped after he stopped using it. Things were changed. I understand to a point. The mean the crux of the situation is that this happened. Because i can't you know that's not really what he was saying. He was saying. I had to change my grip and some of the way that was pitchy because it wasn't the and because of that i had fatigue and then and then all of a sudden went so endo facto. You know there was my my now. My elbow is now shattered for because the sticky stuff was not given. I was not able to use it. So i understand what they're saying. They've been able to use this for however long whatever substance he was. Talking about Rosen and scroll frogs sunscreen which has been used for ever forever and the fact that they give you a rising bag out there. I mean there's the whole clay buchholz thing putting it in his hair. Lathering at oliver's body the rosins already out there so they just do a little mixture and then rub their hands and now you have that now you have it. You're good and you could get a better grip on the ball. you can. You can feel it with your figures a little bit more. And the reason they're complaining about it is because the balls come out so slick. There's never been a problem with guys. Scuffing a ball up a little bit. They want a new ball. They like it. They don't want like when the umpires are changing in and out because you get a new ball it is slick. I understand that. There's a working of the ball so that you could get to a comfort point. It's when you start adding those other elements. I understand what they're saying. I do because it's been fine. Everybody's been it's been accepted for so long. Oh i hate the argument that that this is when people say this has been around forever known aroun- despite attack has not been around for. It's not spider tech is just one of the things that's coming out though. Okay but time the bullfrog and the rosin and now even so i don't think so bullfrog and rosin and pine tar use has been around forever and we've never had a problem. So why are we having a problem now. It's because they weren't just using bullfrog in rods. I understand that a lot of using. Yes of course. Something else and tyler glass now whether you believe them or not or garrett cole or on everyone say mcgarrigle flat out said that he used it right so i don't. I don't see a picture. I don't believe tyler glass. Now that he only used the bullfrog and rosin. I don't. I don't believe him when i when i was watching him. Talk about it. It just it's either way whether you were you. Were not what whether you believe them or you don't act like they were telling the truth for a second here and if it was us even that anymore so that that's why it's a pro. It's why you see league-wide more spread. Because not i don't know what percentage of guys are using something like spider attack or you know something that gives you that that that type of grip or how many other guys were just using enough to get a little bit of a grip on the ball so that it's they control and it's not this slick baseball. I don't know what the percentage of the extreme users the guy take advantage of it and then the guys who were just like living within the parameters of what's been okay for a long time. Those are two different stories for me. I asked but the reason why you have the extreme. Why we have the the the the baseball came down on. This is because of the extreme. It's always happens. It's the guys that ticket to the next limit. The guys that that always look those are always the and that's always going to. That's what i talked with. Jeff bloom and david tuttle about to former players and they. Their argument was baseball. Always has this problem. They need to just create a substance that is legal for pitchers to us. And thank you but my answer to them was. Why do you trust that players won't push that envelope because they wish every envelope they'll always gonna no matter what so we're just going to be back here to square one but know what this is is at least that would be baseball saying we acknowledged we understand you empathy empathy. I but what good does that. I walk us. This is like the the the sales approach for everything salesperson empathy. I overcome the barrier. And then you're giving them something. That is a compromise. So you think that what you do is you cut down. You're trying to say okay. You guys are using that. We're not going to give you that because that's way too big advantage entirely too much. But i assure you that the baseball's lick they when they come out because they are forever people been scuffing them up making sure that there's dirt on you do it in little league spit on your hand. You do what you can't get a grip on the ball. That's major league baseball everywhere forever. Always and even when you're in the field of playing softball i'm spitting on my glove. Data a little bit of tackiness. Because when you have dirt and slick leather. That shit is slippery. It gets slippery. So you're making a compromise. Understanding is this is the nature of what it is. You play in dirt. And that's leather combined swick slippery slippery stuff. Nobody wants to get drilled in the head with one hundred dollars fastball. Get grip so you compromised. You make substance that is workable and you police it from there and that's what you can do at least you're finding a middle ground so that hopefully some of these guys that go the extremes understand. There's something that able to use the allows me to get a grip. Maybe it's not as much of a grip as what i would normally use. But at least there's something there's a compromise now. You have harsh harsh penalties for people that go above and beyond and take advantage of it. You can police this..
Fresh update on "gary sanchez" discussed on The Bronx Pinstripes Show - Yankees MLB Podcast
"We if gary is going well gotta go and now we see some offensive output. But yeah he's he's he's playing. Well third at the yankees. That's a very good sign for this yankees or short at these third for reason if third hold on let me let me rephrase that these third based on the numbers that he's putting up showing that he should be batting third. Not we've seen we've seen roof at or door hit third for the so. It's not always indicative. Is what i'm saying but for the season he's got an eight twenty oh. Ps we also all signed up for eight twenty pm. June for gary sanchez on the season. So yeah i know the the games are looking great but even for the season he's got respectable numbers right and i think that's what we've seen with him even when when the test is telling you the gary sanchez is not doing well. The production numbers seemingly are there that he he doesn't often these other these other opportunities. the whole runs. Our numbers have been there. Yes the homeless. But we even talked about at i. I've talked about this rela. But you and i talked about this. The at bats gary sanchez in the first month of the season even though the numbers were not there the at bats looked better whereas last year yeah he had like i think he had ten home runs in the shortened season. But if he wasn't hitting a home run it was a noncompetitive at-bat completely embarrassing to look at and that's not what we've seen this year. So the numbers. I think are starting to catch up to what the is what. My eyes were telling me watching him at the plate. Early season when you're talking about it. It did not look like the gary sanchez of last year. It just didn't look like the same guy. He had a better approach. Not flailing pitches But it's clicking for him right now. So i'm gonna live in the moment and love it now. The question is when are you gonna start catching garrett cole. Well that's your question. i think. That's that's your questions this week i. If you if you have a guy going like this you you need to do it. As you guys had a precedent you got to set the tone understanding that. You're not taking this guy out of the lineup. With the way that he's hitting and that garrett cole higgins relationship well you respect it working relationship great fine. Do you need to be able to work with the other guy considering this guy. This is exactly the moment exactly the time when. You can't take gary sanchez out. You need to work. you need to work. Yes he's going to need an off day but switch it up so that they can begin to build this canes begin to build this relationship so that later in the season it does not become an issue when all of a sudden garrett cole you need to win the game and you have a tough left handed pitcher coming up and you need gary said just in the lineup. You can't have that be a problem and you can't have him sitting and you can't. You can't have him at d. h. as a workaround for that either he should be in the lineup. Because then you have your out or own zach guy who should be in the lineup as well. It's just not smart to d. h. Your catcher when you've got when you've got because then you only have two catchers have one guy goes down it's just it's just not smart. It's it's asking for a disaster to happen yet darren. Boone was not even an error. Boone thing though. That's any manager knows not to do that of just listen. Carried three catches. What's kratz doing these days. I know he's the seasons of the season. That's probably what's going to happen. You'll you'll you'll see three catches on there. So that gary. He gets on on days where he's not catching so would not surprise me. The end of the season that that's happening but again this all of this is about the whole personal catcher. Situation is all about for me for me at least not being not having to sit a guy because there's no relationship there's working history when you come to the end of the season at the moments that matter the absolute most if you don't have the ability to play who who needs to play then that's a problem and that is something that's avoidable also with the way the season is looking it. Looks like they're gonna be playing a one game. Playoff with garret cullen amount. I want gary sanchez. His bat in the lineup. I don't want hickeys bat in the lineup on that one. No figure it out figure out the reason. Why just figured out you got that. If he's going well of course you need that back in the lineup. So it's it's it's really it's really just plain and simple. It's very very easy. So you buy the resurgence. It sounds like you're buying the resurgence. I am when i when i see them. Go and take three from toronto. And then and then a triple play to come out of the oakland series to win two three unbelieving loving. I'm not talking about the team. I'm talking about gary specifically because this is the best looked. This is exactly what i said. Okay as gary goes. This team goes is the best. Gary sanchez is looked for this amount of time since two thousand seventeen it's been about one hundred and twenty plate appearances. That looked really good. That's not a massive sample but it's also not tiny. You've got over one hundred plate appearances you've got almost a month of baseball. That he's been their best offensive player and judge went to a little bit of a mini a mini slump and guarantees looking much. Better now yet. But gary sanchez is the one who really picked it up. And he had the go ahead double to right center field on sunday. Like like the everything about his approach at the pre the plate right now. That was two. We had called out early in the season. When you see gary sanchez hidden hidden singles to right field. Even if you're not seen the numbers where they need to be you could tell that. His approach is just different. Like those are the things i remember. Tweeting it up in probably may when we saw there was an app at where he he took a ball to the right side. Basit like that is exactly the thing that this guy should be doing when he's when he's hitting the ball the opposite way and with power. He's going he's right that he is in the right spot. So so yeah that's a. That's a really.
Urshela Takes Shard in Eye, Then Hits Go-Ahead Homer

"And he puts his arm up when judge hits the home run and they showed that on the broadcast through those. I do remember that road trip to. That was a road trip that that chris carter put his eyes closed and dropped the ball at first base and that was like the final straw for us but that was the road trip that i had a start to believe in that team because they were it was like along west coast road trip and they actually played well and we were like. Let's see how they play when they go out west and now i'm kinda the opposite with this team i'm kind of i. Don't care how they play against at least teams at this point because they've been so bad against teams. That's why the sweep of toronto was huge. And that's why the upcoming weekend series against boston is going to be so big because the yankees have put themselves in a position with s- with struggling up into this point in the season where they have to win all these alias games. Because you have to jump over these teams if you're gonna make the playoffs so it's great that they took two out of three from a good team in oakland and they have played well against some other non alias teams. But i'm just kind of focused on these division games at this point because but at the same time to win. Would you see tampa dropping six in a row. You better damn. We'll take care of business while that's happening as well. And that's what they did so they this past week has been so good for the yankees one if you look at the standings compared to where where they were After the philly it's in day what happened here a big week. I should go to more. I should go to the vegas whole more often. Really good takes happened. Yeah so. I mean back from playing toronto sweeping that series making these comebacks also in toronto and in oakland. I talked about last When they lost that first game to the phillies. And if you remember. I was looking for bright things. I was looking for positively coming from in some capacity and what got circled was did come back. They fought back and weeks ago. We would not have seen this team have that type of fight and while they did lose the game moral victory be damned then the next day like seventy the next day but look for just looking for some positive looking for some energy and like things you could take out and the team did fight back and what are we see this entire week. Team fought back team came back six lot of comeback. So i believe what you can see these small signs of a team and see the way that they're going and while it didn't result in the victory on that day i do believe there was a mentality shift. Okay we can do this. We can come back. We can fight back in these games and they did it against toronto and they did it against oakland and they came out with us. We seasons or i'm sorry series sweep and then a series win. That's five of six since that that philly set so you could look back at that and say something changed. Something clicked with with their mentality and now backs against the wall. Got a gotta well. And that's what's happened. Do you think though that something has changed his team. Because we've been fooled with this this set of players before this season we've been fooled and they've reverted so do you think. These comebacks are indicative of the fact that the team is starting to rebound and on the upswing or are some of these comebacks fluky sort of like triple plays and that even though they did come back yesterday they had a chance to put a couple insurance firms on the board and once again they failed to get runner in from third with less than two outs. So how how are you You know harm looking at it. I'm still seeing the team. The problems that existed on this team last monday. I think still exists on this team. Is it good that they have gone. Five and one while tampa has gone owen six. Of course it's good. It potentially saves their season but or prolongs the inevitable. What however you want to look at it but has something actually changed or are we just looking at a slight reversion. And then we're going to be back where we were in mid-july with the team still hovering around five hundred because the same issues exist. I mean it's so point we we definitely have dodged offense is going to click. The offense in the regular season is going to be much improved. Gonna look better get much worse and but there because of that because the firepower they have on this team. They're going to at some point and they're going to the numbers will probably look closer where they should at the end of the year. A lot of a lot of the habits but when you look in those microcosm those those those small silos of of the bad times. It's hard to see how they can come out of that. And then yes. I understand how some people are like. Okay not going to be not going to be tricked by fool's gold. But i saw a lot of bay sets. I saw a lot of the the homerun was there but there. Also you know hitting gaps. They're extending innings on the base paths like. They're actually doing some of the right things. Festively when i see that when i see the offensive side of the ball actually doing the right things and it's not only coming from the home run. That gives me more hope. That gives me the thought that you know. The the approach has has changed a bit in the sense that these guys are just trying to get back on ball. Make things happen. You put the ball in play. Good things will happen. That's what we're seeing. I do think they are making adjustments as as replaying here. It's a matter of when this team hits ahead with the pitching and the offense and where they level out right now. Offense is is in a good spot. I think it's ironic that the player who has sort of been at the forefront of this mini turnaround has been gary sanchez. Who in his last. Twenty games is hitting three thirty nine with six homers. Twelve rb is an over one thousand opie s and i find it ironic because gary sanchez is kind of a microcosm for what this team is right. 'cause gary sanchez in spurts can look so unbelievably good. He can look like the all star caliber catcher that we all know he has the talent to be and then at times he looks completely lost doing stupid things at the field. He can't he can't even come close to making contact. He looks terrible behind the plate. And that's sort of how the team has looked at types. So i kind of using gary sanchez is like and the yankees. The one in the same here. It's like are you. Are we buying this resurgence from. Are we buying this turnaround from the yankees team. Or are we going to be sitting here with gary sanchez and the yankees a little in three weeks from now being like we were duped once again now. I love the fact that he's playing well again. I think one of the biggest things that we talked about forever was with gary. Sanchez is where he's at between the ears in a good place as he confident in how he feels the that he's playing and when he gets that spot. When you start seeing the ball at the plate the guy you know we. We've seen the prolific ability that he has behind the while hitting and i think everything starts with his confidence. It seems like he's in a really good spot so yeah i think he's an engine. Not only you're you're kind of using him as like a microcosm of what this team is. I'm saying that when gary's going well people feed off of that. I think people feed off of your catcher list. Your goddamn right when that guy is going well. The catalyst stands catalyst up. Because i think there's there's some expectations there but if gary's going well again we're like we know what he can beat. The guy was. Britain's is best and at his worst. He was insert player here. When he's going well everybody else aroused. We gotta take advantage of this..

How the Aaron Rodgers-Packers Drama Will Likely End
"Strikes out. looking yankee. Third base coach. Phil nevin was irate. Got thrown out either way. We go to extras tied at four top. Ten at fluey sesa during the pitching and a three to count. That's called the ball. And gary sanchez can't believe it. The yankees are frustrated. And then they would like this. Even last two onto that zander bogart's a basic both run score and the red sox winning six four completing the sweep again. It's the first time. The red sox walk into yankee stadium and leave with a sweep in a decade prior to this series. Boston lost eleven straight away games against the bombers. Moreover the red sox have now won five straight extra inning games at yankee stadium. We'll talk more about that later. Meanwhile now let's talk about this. Tomorrow is a significant day. In the development of the aaron rodgers sodden it is the first of three consecutive days of packers mandatory minicamp in his monthly column. Packers president. Mark murphy at this to say regarding the impact of the predicament. Quote the situation. We face with aaron rodgers has divided our fan base the emails and letters that i received reflect. This fact is. I wrote here last month. We remain committed to resolving things with aaron wanting to be our quarterback in twenty twenty one and beyond working to resolve the situation and realize that the less votes sides say publicly. The better you said that again. Dominic foxworth in his monthly column. So what question media jumps to your mind. A why the hell is mark. Berkeley a monthly column. Like who cares. And also i mean can. We do a foia request on his emails. Because i'm pretty sure there is. Nobody emailing him. Angry about aaron rodgers. There is no divide. New York Yankees miss chances, fall to Jays in opener
"Let me take you to another one yesterday yankees and bluejays on a chilly day. The opener a yankee stadium. And here's the highlights from this one. Bottom of two one. On for gary sanchez and gary. Sanchez has left the ballpark sanchez. The first yankee catcher to homer on opening day in eleven years jens have a two one league garrett cole now doing the pitching and not well oscar hernandez oh no doubt about that drills one the left in the six that ties the game two and garett cold not pleased bottom nine. Same score winning. Run it second. Aaron judge of the plate. Can he be the hero on opening day. That's the question. The answer is no judge. One for five struck out twice. We're going to extras top of the ten runners. At second randall. Grischuk pool rightfielder. Aaron judge can't get it no. We can't sixty five percent was the hit probability on this. It's an rbi double. The run comes around to score and that would be the difference. Blue jays win it three two in extras on opening day. And so back to you jessica mendoza. What's your number one takeaway from the ball game yesterday in the bronx gary sanchez. I mean you've got to remember a lot of people. Were watching last year gary sanchez. You didn't think he was eating a start or be in this lineup for the yankees. Because how bad help awesome. He was offensively last year. Being one forty seven six four strikeouts tech eight teen walks. His biggest thing coming in was to be able to sit back behind the baseball. That home run. You could use feel the pressure. Come off of him. Why because there's so many other guys in this lineup. That when they struggle. It's up to gary sanchez. And he's the difference maker to me because you know when it comes down to aaron judge who also struggled with this game carlos stanton both of those guys are prone to injuries. They're not going to be in this lineup throughout the entire season and to the big piece. That's missing because by the way it is world series or bust for the yankees team. Gary sanchez has to step up. I know it's only one game but that run was huge

"But if Tanakh is out there in a four run game at eighty seven pitches, you probably don't pull him but no matter what it seemed like the last couple of years the Yankees would pull their starter at at that point right but in. But in a one run games, sometimes you gotta pull him. Sometimes, it just doesn't work out sometimes. Given release for situations lead and it doesn't give a baseball situation in a in a particular matchup. Okay. I'm fine with that that that's that's that's kind bucking what we're talking about as far as that's the exception. For overall strategy is you know that they would pull him that's the strategy. If a given situation called for something else and though and everything lined up beautifully, and you know it was it was the ideal scenario they would keep him in but that just didn't happen very often. So you said a a switch was flipped and it was kind of flipped when afoot to me a switches flip on and off like a circuit on and off. To me this was like a dial you know the digger at twenty, five percent up to like fifty per they. They turn the novel a little bit so that strategy was tweaked. Yeah, I think they probably the the nerd department probably had a formula that said on when each pitcher reaches this number of innings under their belt than you can start turning the KNOB and extra five percent ten percent seriously I think I think that the KNOB was. The KNOB was guarded by NERD. Someone else. Give a backhand to the nerds flap the nerd across the room and turn the dial. That's what I think. Okay Well Adami way turning the dial I. that's I think Phil Nevin walked into the walked into the room. Busted some people up and turn the damn now dial that's what I think. I think that with the nerd see Phil Nevin coming into the room ready to give them wedgies. They all have a panic attack and it's like someone press someone presses a red button and it just locks down the room. So Phil Nevin can't kick the door down just give swirlies to all the nerds. Phil Neville. Nightmare yes. Yes That's how the got turned in my in my mind. I on the offense I, it was. It was a little frustrating that the Yankees scored all those runs and then went to fenway and seem seem to forget how to hit for that Friday night game but they did come back Gary Sanchez I test versus nerd tests will be about Gary Sanchez Yeah we need to talk about him. You WanNa do I versus tests right now, we can talk about Gary Sanchez. The nervous back in and or. Have Bruce Confidence from Phil Nevin. Let's talk about them. So we would. You agree that Gary Inches looks a lot better at the plate recently. Yes, I will agree. So he had a huge night Friday night. He had the double in the seventh inning to get them close, and then he had the game tying home run in the ninth inning missile over over the green monster to tie the game. Probably the the most the biggest hits of his season I guess you could say the Grand Slam off of the mets and extra innings. But as you so aptly pointed out, he got three batting practice fastballs and finally connected on right That was hit. So his stats, the the NERD test back it up Gary Sanchez looks a lot better at the plate. So gimme a second to go through some of these numbers from the start of the season in July through September seventh I know I'm just picking an arbitrary date but through September seventh yet one, hundred, fourteen plate appearances cleared thirteen hits. To thirteen hits. How many walk in that time? Yeah. I mean he had a nine point, six percent walk rate, which has a walk rate isn't isn't the worst in the world but forty two percent k rate, which is astronomical. He was hitting one thirty, his WRC plus was sixty his weighted on base average was to fifty there. There's no numbers in here even as slugging percentage was terrible three fifty, I know he hit seven home runs out of thirteen hits but he didn't get any hits really. So just terrible numbers all the way around. He was trying to pull the ball so much he was pulling the ball fifty seven percent of the time. His hard hit contact was only thirty, six percent. He had nineteen percent soft contact, forty, four, percent museum contact. Going through some of these other numbers like just just terrible terrible numbers all the way around. But then in his last forty, four plate appearances since September seventh. He is he is hitting two. Oh, five th not really that much better. But he a one, sixteen WRC plus his strikeout percentage is down to twenty two percent, which shows me better at bats his exit velocity. Is actually still about the same. But when you're not striking out that means pitch recognition is better his. His hard hit percentage is up to fifty five percent up from thirty, six percent. So I just see a lot of things like still not fantastic still not peak Gary Sanchez. But a lot of these things look way better from an approach perspective from a comfort level from from everything level. And hopefully, hopefully, they continue to rise because it does I mean. This team is better when Gary Sanchez is playing and playing well, not not just playing playing well, when Gary Sanchez is showing the player that he can be yet the team is better. It's just it's been a very long time since this guy has shown in a consistent manner and forty four plate appearances when we're looking at the numbers while while better, they were coming from complete dog shit and you look at the the the better numbers and them in isolate them and you're looking at. You're looking at just those numbers like Tom Gary Sanchez was struggling in those forty four plate appearances. Compared to what he was doing. Improvement, but that's the thing like you look at what he what he has been, and then you look at those forty-four Damn. He's been struggling like what's going on with Gary Sanchez but still even though he's only hitting two five in those forty, four plate appearances one, sixteen WRC plus sixteen percent better than league average the the pay to strike out the strikeout percentage is one thing. That pops out to me when I'm looking at these numbers that you pulled is the opposite is Otto percentage. The poll percentage is about the same from the the one, hundred and forty, one, hundred and fourteen plate appearances at fifty-seven percent in the last forty four is poll percentage of fifty, five percent. So they're pretty close but the one to the big difference here is otto percentage from seventeen percent up to twenty, almost twenty percent, and that means he is recognizing those those pictures out you know over the plate or on the other side of the plate and now. He's not waving at them, but he's actually putting the ball putting the bat on the ball and you know putting those either into the stand in right field or he's actually been getting some base hits. You know going with the pitch actually recognition picking it up and and going the other way, and you see that approach with a lot of the Yankees..

"You wanna or Gary Sanchez knower loop void I mean they got a friggin football team as a base yeah I know and that's the upside of the people of the home run but it's just to me it's just it's just too much now it's across the game too many runs too many instead of a special nature out of it I've only take that street when you take a look at Kristen yell at each you don't see PVD that it does not scream people you mean evil Alonso he doesn't lie isn't a steroid guy was a regular guy looks like an old school like eighty slaughters what he looks like he doesn't look like a big jam doc type well dollars more in shape than John Kruk right but I mean he he just like I get all the good old school you know just regular big baseball player he does not look overly muscular or there is obviously something it's the ball off the bat the players will Major League Baseball had a major emphasis on trying to get more popularity in this game to younger people in there trying to grow it and all of that so I think today there might be something there that they have altered to make more offense in more home right and but don't you think that if that were a conscious decision they came out of the major league offices don't you think by now that would have been openly discussed by somebody now I don't because then it's a bit opens up a whole can of worms because then the Players Association the pictures like you're saying they're going to get past it's not something I don't know well there is there is obvious there is an obvious trend that has taken over this year and the numbers speak to it yeah I'd love to candidly talk to a picture this year about the grip on the baseball on how it feels differently and what they think is going on because when they tiptoe around it they they talk about a little bit but it's always the not dipping their toe in the water and then they back off because they're afraid of it I love to really know what they say you watch a guy like Mack shores of those doesn't seem to bother him right well the best of the best figure out a way around it that's for sure but I mean it's it's but not everybody is the best the best and then you know even guys like Jake of the crimes have in it you know it's turned around little bit but still beginning of his your hasn't been great but then you get a guy who was like a lower caliber barely in the major leagues like a Brooks pounders or whatever you throw him out there with new baseballs and the guys getting murdered self it's just the whole trickle down effect it is over in geo on the fan CBS sports network.
MLB All-Star Game starters election begins Wednesday at noon
"I did not know that there was an all star selection process until i happen to listen to multiple game so this is kinda my evening routine now i loved to listen to games on the radio and since i only get a limited number of games on my t._v. package i can get them all on the radio when i skip around so i listened to astros pirates listen to red sox white sox last night i spent some time listening to dodgers diamondbacks and every single game that i tuned into they mentioned the starters election which begins today at noon eastern time and runs through thursday afternoon so it's only twenty eight hours that's your entire window but you get to pick the starters for the upcoming all star game it's called the starters election the all-star starters election that's quite a hashtag set us up almost all of your characters on twitter so the ballot will go live either on m._l._b. dot com or you can google it simply the partnership with google maybe that's why they changed the process because they needed something unique for their partnership with google so you get and it doesn't matter how many votes the players got to this point all of that gets thrown out the window and they're on a clean slate so for instance first base in the american league luke void carlos santana c._j. krone for the twins you get to pick and it doesn't matter that voight had the most number of votes to get to this point nationally freddy freeman josh bell anthony rizzo doesn't matter that that freeman had two point two million votes he's only going to be the starter if he gets elected now if it dawned on me we already see this as a bit of a popularity contest right so gary sanchez catcher in the american league had double the number of votes of the next guy on the list james mckenna the white sox double the number of votes so it seems to reason if he's already gotten that many votes that if most of those people then show up at the the election at the bow doors the ballot box then he's gonna end up winning anyway so i'm i don't know it feels redundant but maybe that's just me so if you want to be part of the all-star starters election process you now get the chance to pick the starters and the game of course is coming up at progressive field in cleveland a couple of weeks from now let's just just shy of two

He's made good glove where he gets a short hop on this one just does not set his feet to get the correct throw to second base almost was headed is if he was didn't know where to go. Great play to this ball didn't end up in the outfield. Yeah. Beatty did lunging up a Jewish left. Then they're going to review it. The postseason one of the things that changes the chill the eight. You get an extra challenge. So to challenges instead of one Salix Cora figuring this even close. I mean, did look like his foot was on the bag and all. Once he goes to reach to even make them eating Kinzler all five ten. But I think it's close I think the point would be. Now, it is it is close. I think it's close and the point would be it's the seventh inning. You haven't used one. Give it a shot. You got nothing to lose. And remember, it's where the ball starts to enter the glove, which is. Is not as easy as when where you're used to seeing the ball go to the back of the glove. And that's where right now, they're looking in New York. To see exactly when that ball starts to enter the glove of Kimbler. I can't tell any of the replays. We've seen so far as good as contact you debase with each receiving out its second. Challenge is worth it. How do you like that? I will credit them being able to see the video because to the blind watching this straight up. I mean, he looked safe all the way this throw was so Eric in Kinsley showing the ability to keep the to- down on the bag. He Pembrey up in a Red Sox bullpen. That again. Big play right there as the Red Sox. Thanks to the replay able to grab an owl Nunez happy for instant replay off the hook judge it third Stanton. Is it first? And here's Gary Sanchez and again, Henry up in the pan. Three one yogis lead top seven. Here's the pitch outside and low. Gary Sanchez with that home run. He struck out each. The last two times up rough year for Gary this year it one eighty six at three hundred seventy four plate appearances at two ninety one on base percentage. Down and in. Six career home runs against David price. News. Definitely one that would love to see David price. Stay longer in this game. Alex Cora, super aggressive it taking price out. The two swing at events. That's yes. It's hindsight now. But you gotta give credit for making that early move because it's kept them in this game. And you wouldn't have guessed it, you almost think what stick with price because the bullpen Stephen, right? Not being able to be an arm. Rick per cell. No longer an option. The pitch swag and high fly ball well-struck that what on its way back there. And that is. Center-field? Gary Sanchez his second of the night. He absolutely crushed it over the monster seats just to the left of the American flag and a Yankees hat. Blasted it open. It is now six to one Sanchez homering for the second time to see. This is why Gary Sanchez moved up in.

Gary Sanchez Clinton Frazier and glory or the And he thought I was crazy why, would you trade Sanchez Well I heard him this afternoon and I mean. He and I've been going. Off on Sanchez since he's lazy he doesn't improve his defense he got. A big. Head because they built them up to beat us great. Catcher he's got a good I've never heard, a pitcher say anything good about Gary Sanchez well that's, where he has some deficiencies and, Bob your. Comments are, respected of course on the record and. He's tower of right now he hasn't, improved from a year ago he's got ten passed balls and I think if that doesn't lead. The American, League it's right up near the top no defensively I mean. He's not very good at this point that's fair to say not. Very good but you have seen the, kind of hitting ability and there. Aren't many catches in the game I mean you have to look at both sides and you gotta figure alright, as francesa was saying earlier today defending him to some degree but as his show went along towards we. Got closer to six thirty. I think he was less arguing with so many Yankee fans calling and more or. Less agreeing that he He I was lazy I mean. He was also defending the upside and looking at both sides of. Sanchez terrible defensively yes he was lazy, last night not running it out. And I'm and I'm poking fun here with Sanchez how does he get a right groin strain by jogging By power walking how, does that happen in oh maybe if he was running full speed and really busting the. Joke is giving the. Energy and the effort and the urgency maybe he'd be one hundred percent healthy and I'm doubtful anyway, you know because the organization. Doesn't want to say. We're benching, him but they want to bench him for ten days because he's on, the ten, day, DL so I'm a little, maybe he is a little bit bothered by a right groin strain and. The left groin is saying leave? Me out of it I'm okay but the VAR. Right part of the groin is not too happy. With Garry and Garry was not busting it and here he is changing in, the ninth inning he does not busted coming out of. The box halfway up the? Wine, going to first base when he realizes he's should be. Running a little bit harder they didn't I mean after all the. Time Ron would have scored had he been busting at any, knows it, and maybe then right there is where he screened the, right groin by changing gears going from neutral go into into fourth gear so the bottom. Line is just has. To hustle and maybe if he hustles and gives energy and gives effort and gives urgency would they, tuna pedigrees maybe he'll stay Healthy Nick, is calling for massive peak with Nick you're on the fan of New York City what's going on I was reading what's up my man I love you well thanks for being part of the. Program the whole thing what was it I called. You last night about Sanchez and I had the opportunity to listen all day, today by Kohl s is very upset I wanted to know, your unbiased if I know you're fan but without. Stick, without anything I honestly, after a day thinking, about it I'd rather see roll my behind the plate every day I don't want this guy part of the. Organization I wanted to know what you thought I. Understand what he can do on the officer side but when, talk like this comes. About negativity for the team and I think that's..

"All over, about Gary Sanchez loafing Not trying not busting it to get outta there I'm he's back on the you just can't put someone on the DL because you want them to escape criticism Did he come back too soon did he not tell you when he was feeling tight is what he told me he felt I don't think he came. Back too soon because we have, a pretty strict protocol with, that guys, have to pass through to be able. To, play and go out. On their rehab assignment so I think from that standpoint he was in good shape Just last night I think there was probably some level. Of aggravation obviously that occurred on, a play throughout the game That even by the end of the game He felt like maybe just some. Tightness and I think left the ballpark here not, thinking it, was going to be anything serious you know fast forward to this morning Waking. Up the adrenaline the game is often and we. Decided to just make sure we're really Make sure we kind of cover all our bases got him in the MRI tube. And. Having to see the doctor and it did reveal. That he does have a strain again okay he. Told me that he felt it on? That I play in the first inning and passed ball should. He have said something. To you he told me that I play with, pain all the time I was just. Tight, I thought it would go away and in truth he did. Catch for eight more? Innings, yeah. And I don't think he felt it was a big, deal should he have told sure sure we'd love love, our players to reveal everything to us but also as an athlete as a major league player you deal with little things throughout the season all the time or little bumps all the time when the course of a game that you know more often. Than not aren't that big a deal and you. Just kind of kind of fight through that I think he looked at it in that light I don't. Think he thought it, was a real big deal so much so that I saw him out after the game. And. He came in and on his own before I. Could even find them and was really accountable and. Felt like he needed to be even? Better despite feeling a little bit of tightness when this kind. Of thing happens to. A guy like Gary who people go back to, a ball when he wasn't hustling was. Benched, and all those kinds of things doesn't make it worse because. This past like that? Perhaps, perhaps. I mean you know you're citing that example and I'm, sure people all over will cite different things that have, happened in a players past and and point to the thing my challenge with Gary is to you know he's been through a lot of adversity this year and and that's okay eat meat all it's it's how you react to that adversity and hopefully. This is a chance for him to continue to. Grow as a person to continue to grow as a player with the idea that We're going to get a Finnish great product. At some point get exacerbated because he's not hitting I mean if he's sitting four hundred people aren't going crazy like this I think that's fair You know that said there's there's times, in in. The course, of. A game where if you're out there in your sound you've you know you've got. To be able to deliver from in, in every. Way. From an effort standpoint everything so but, yeah absolutely I think. It because of the season. He's he's having in some, of the struggles he's added the. Plate add to it no doubt okay one more question on Severino who said who was very down. He, was very dejected yesterday he said he felt fine but he said he wasn't sharp what you see in the last three starts because there's a lot of home runs given up there yeah I thought yesterday was actually a little different than. What I saw on his previous because I thought the stuff, was a little crisper yesterday made. Some big, time mistake the the hanging, slider to tobacco hours just kind. Of spun up there And he and he put a really good swing on it that's three runs right there That was on the heels of a. Little bit of unlock it kind, of seeing eye, and then a ball off his love that's probably a, double play ball but but yeah I think just more mistakes. That. We're used. To seeing..

"Graduate. You guys got a great show, man, and thank you for making my morning more bearable. You know, getting out of bed in the morning. He's an easy, but anyway, it's about this Gary Sanchez. You know, when the game's over I listen a little to the the Spanish commentators 'cause they talk a lot about the Latin American players, you know, and stuff like that. Let players. Are they talking a lot about the guys enters Ed is kind of two big you kinda like like you know he, can't do, anything wrong you know. And and Fernando or they. Criticizing Gary Sanchez, or, they or they making excuses for. Them no no no, sort of criticizing, like like he's had his too big for like hitting one eighty nine and you, know. He, I. Think. He's. A great player don't get me wrong but you know they kind of kind of. Saying that he's, kinda, sleeping on, his laurels sort of yeah, yeah yeah, yeah yeah Yeah so basically they're saying that his head is, getting too big he's too lazy and he thinks he's better that he is that he's got to work, harder, at, his. Craft exactly and the thing with Boone is you know I think it's it's kinda hard. Nowadays to really, disciplined, player during a game because you. Know you have such, a short bench, you know if you take the guy out that means you only have one catcher. But. I'm, sure. That. If Some snow It but sometimes, I mean it was just so obvious to a lot. Of people definitely that was that was that was that would have been a learning? Session, for yeah I think that was a great. Learning session I still think there's a Nando and thanks for the kind words and making. A call I think I still think there's a chance for that discipline to. Happen tonight I do think that I mean it just because it didn't happen yesterday in game and Aaron Boone didn't fillet doesn't mean that he won't come. Down tonight that discipline all depends on how it's how this whole thing shakes. Out, tonight yeah and I. Didn't lie I don't. Say it I I don't see Brian. Cashman. Going okay, Aaron head sit. Him down I, think Erica Brian Cashman's gonna play. His ass maybe I might be trying to trade them and we need to. Play. 'em sure and one of the things I saw last night that I don't agree with was you know if Gary Sanchez hitting three hundred with twenty five homers and seventy five RBI point in, the season you can excuse stuff Who said that I saw Tun of that. On, Twitter it's you like. This was a thing. Like every Yankee fan that I saw. Was. Like guys, bent one ninety. This is unacceptable, that's unacceptable period I don't care. Who you are and what your stats are if you're gonna low flight data did. A major league baseball game the basically do a quick walk to a pass ball gimme a break but it also makes it worse when you're hitting one ninety it does.

"Is with me now all right the the big news over the weekend was the gary sanchez injury he's gonna miss three to four weeks how big of a blow is this for the yankees while look it's it's obviously moa a big loss i mean even though he was not producing at the plate you kind of hope that at some point even walls averages under two hundred that at some point gary sanchez is going to get back to being gary sanchez the yankee lineup is so stacked even without gary sanchez if it is a month that's a big loss but i mean it's type of thing the yankees are kind of built to be able to overcome the fact that he's not going to be there for a while all right half game lead over the red sox this is that has the makings of a good old fashioned american league pennant race with the loser getting this off landing of the wildcard what are the yankees have to do with the trade deadline well i mean look they they big you would listen to yankee fans you'd think that they have to do all these things especially after the weekend they had in tampa all these you know the yankee fans get a little carried away sometimes but look they have to add you would think a starting pitcher that is big enough to start at a playoff series not just the fifth starter some of the you'd feel confident if you in a short playoff series starting one of those top three games so if that's a j hap if that's a cole hamels i think those are the kind of names that you've been hearing and we'll start to hear as we get closer to the trade deadline you know the yankee fans and i mean i guess some of the media to love to think of this idea of maybe jacob degrom switching sides in the city or maybe even a madison bumgarner but it doesn't look like the are going to be trying to add that level i don't think of a starting pitcher and and really giving up the farm system to add somebody like that but outside of a top three starter maybe i guess a lefty reliever chasing shreve is certainly struggled so far and especially lately with the run he gave up on sunday so i think that those are the two areas that you're looking at it's it would be impossible to say that a guy managing a team with the best record in the game is doing a badge but but take me through how aaron boone is done almost to the midway point of his first season in the bronx well look there was a lot of people myself included who thought you know you get to a game within the world series you have this manager who every year it seemed like joe girardi was able to get more out of the team than you thought going into the year and was able to do things over the course of the year where you saw the improvement not just an individual players areas like the bullpen it would seem like every year yankees would start out with a shaky bullpen by the end of the year it would be a strength of the team but you really have to kind of give it to aaron boone there really hasn't been that many things outside of the nine and nine start where people thought all right there's a lot of things that they got a clear up at that time the defense wasn't playing that well they weren't run basis well the offense wasn't clicking at that point but really since that point what is there to complain about like this recordsetting pace even while the red sox are doing the same thing it's kinda hard to be really critical of any areas there's not really been a game outside of again that ninety nine stretch where you look at and point to individual decisions were aaron boone is made any mistakes you know coming into this year the felt kind of felt like the yankees looked at the managerial position as something that a lot of people would be able to do it well so far aaron boone is proving the right it seems like aaron boone is hit everything out of the.

"The atlanta braves you will already winners this afternoon take top three teams the braves the phillies and the nationals all separated by three games starting the day in the national league east i'm kevin winter baseball tonight on espn radio told you earlier the yankees lost in walk off fashion to the tampa bay rays they got swept game went extra innings in in the top of the tenth inning gary sanchez was trying to beat out a ground ball and he got hurt or this manager aaron boone after the game growing hip hip abductor so he's probably a deal mri and stuff here tomorrow and then get a more clear diagnosis but it's it's we think it's probably going to be a deal situation higashi yoga the guy then you would probably be the guy here and growing those typically take some time to heal i mean it just depends of the severity of it and we'll know a lot more clear tomorrow and have a better idea time line to then philadelphia phillies will be the opponents tomorrow for the new york yankees they will have three games in philadelphia and the yankees will host the red sox coming up this weekend you'll have the game saturday and sunday right here audience via radio but again gary sanchez left the game with an injury as his manager aaron boone says likely headed to the disabled list i'm coming up next what are the games youngest stars gets evaluated by one of the game's greatest.

"And the guys do it and sweeney that's something that in spring training remember the first time we heard aaron marcus talking about controlling these on this is a new they know the they know marcus because he's been around but this is a new kind of game plan and look look what he has done with these hitters and controlling the strike zone gary sanchez said to me on the field that we had a game plan i've not swinging at berea sinker in and that's hard to do that's a great pitch for him but they were so disciplined that they didn't and that's why they got the pitch count our i think that marcus nobody talks about it but he's the one who's articulating the game plan and having them do it and it's really working it's working that all these guys are starting to get hot at the same time aaron judge had a terrific month diddy grigory fantastic mouth and sanchez after about a week or so started to get things going these are the types of times when it's okay that giancarlo stanton followed up last night with three strikeout right and that they made for errors today and there were things that weren't perfect about this because you won the game right could wipe that out these are not things that are all acceptable it's just that okay you survived it today you have time to clean it out yeah they have they have months to clean it up but now it's exactly right let me get to see who really seemed very calm afterwards he thought that this was he said this was a good performance he said he said it's so great to watch these guys working i know what they're capable of and it's fun to watch you sit there and you never know who's going deep and it's actually fun to watch he said i know i need to pitch tepe gape into the game to keep the bullpen fresh we all know that we have to do that and you know you wanna be the one you don't wanna be the guy to mess it up and he's talking about gary and you know people don't give you know we always talk about gary when when he has passed balls or when he's perceived of messing it up and said gary called a great game today it.

"And he handled it all as well as he could and he has come a long way defensively we didn't see him today of course he had the cramping last night after you know catching the bulk of the what was it two hundred and sixty five pitchers are so that the that the yankees through last night literally so he probably caught two hundred and forty of them i'm guessing i don't know i can't remember exactly when remind had to come in and relieve him but it was very late so gary sanchez with the cramped in play today and the yankees hope it's a cramp but gary sanchez defense is so good so much better this season i should say it's really good but it's so much better this season in the limited games i've been able to watch i'll get to that in a minute and ultimately think about this gary sanchez might have joe girardi to thank because joe didn't baby him through a season last year when he wasn't great defensively joe said he had to be better and it certainly appears like he took that to heart any is better so good for the yankees still getting used to the idea that the yankees now have met flake injuries and what i mean by that is the quantity of them the yankees are taking hits left and right cc of course last night with the hip drewery with the blurry ness and headaches that they certainly need to get address and we'll get addressed in terms of what's going on with him the list goes on wade has the the same illness i guess that susan said she has because you can hear susan on the broadcast i hope she's getting better it sounds like she's getting better but she's been under the weather a little bit so it's going around.

"Back back the track at the out outta here yet said our field for gary said chairs he just reached out make tax at got it right on the barrel a drove it out of here to dead center field every yankees have jumped out to a to nothing lead sanchez who it thirty three homers there the regular years shows you how strong gary sanchez zia because as you describe it it looked like he was a little out in front of it but he kept the barrel of his bat moving through the zone on the same plane as the pitch in disorder collected and good carried a straight away field doesn't look like the way this help it a whole lot so the power supplied by gary sanchez so here's didi grigory is to nothing the yankees lead at the pinch we're gonna foul straight back that it's not figured award we were during the regular year allowed twenty one homers it two hundred three a twothirds innings recovery is back in a way to get all want plueger winds and five inside this time at account is even it up you're talking about clover pitch recognition gary sanchez a hitter that really likes to pull the baseball so even they're saying that or he was maybe give it up a little bit but he's still got reward it one swearing at a rather foul force face banks off a screen with guard the yankee dugout idiots come out of the third base stuff but i just felt i mean we forget i think we talk so much about judge sanchez his special in terms of the power that he has his well but is felt like you just reached out met barrel the baseball and now is that but once you get on the ground faldo first past tony painted didi might gotten a piece of its foot he's got a shooting guard on actually a guard that protects both his xinmin and part of the foot and i think it's still got it exposed piece of a spike.

"Have to make these decisions how'd you pitch to airing judge carefully yeah i knew that vitamin by what you have to understand is gary sanchez might be the best overall hitter on this team hitting behind him with thirty three home runs of his own so i i think they'll pitch very carefully the judge but knowing that perhaps some one as dangerous or even more dangerous is waiting in the wings behind him so in those situations where there's not a base to work with aaron judge is going to get some pitches the hit the key for him obviously as always laying off that tough slider down away and when santana climbs the latter with the fastball against them how concerned could joe juror ardy b about gary sanchez defense i think there is some concern there i mean look in an especially with this pitching staff you know it highvelocity good stuff specially a lot of guys they'll bring in from the bullpen if they're gets a new a tight game rudder on third base i'm sure there's a little apprehension their years there's a little bated breath there from from the yankees in their coaching staff but they also understand there's been significant improvement from sanchez behind the play especially in the second half and down the stretch um and they know that you know his offense is so critical in in a big reason why this is an elite offense a major league baseball that they've got to have them in there and they also feel like he's done a good job this year of working with the pitching staff and continue to grow in that role erin boone joins us here baseball tonight yankees try queens in the american league wildcard game moody many believe this yankee team is a year ahead of pace in in this is a bonus getting to the post season yet in new york in the bronx wearing pinstripes you know this you've said some of us home a four hour car ride very silent back in october of all three it's not just enough to make the postseason so if your the.

"Gary sanchez he had a really tough inning there but uh you i like what you mentioned about how great explain that away his command was off he doesn't really know where it's going it's hard for the catcher know where it's going he made a nice play earlier in that inning and then had a couple more issues the couple of ones after that he's going to be a focus but that was a very hardhitting against the pitcher who was not having a very good time yeah you know today didn't and sometimes when gary has those innings is with tanaka too and tanaka has that same kind of thing goes straight down and and you don't gary we know joe says they work on him getting down more quickly and that's why the glove doesn't go down as quickly and they work on and then they work on it but when you have no idea where that paul is going to bounce it's really difficult you have to be a little more where i think it takes time died i today i sorted i almost give them a pass with this i the throwback to sunny gray was off and that was something he just rushed at i've without run are coming in from third base but tonight that was tough and and he was signing was bouncing balls afoot in front of the bag and then he was bouncing balls and they went in another direction gary was set up one place and the ball bounced away from him you know a more experienced catcher obviously might get those a little bit tonight i don't have a whole lot of problem with that because sunny talked about it he said i was all over the place i didn't know where it was going he didn't know is going either so he doesn't blame him but you know i'd sunny gray is such a professional and he's so accountable and.
