In the crotch he got and seated himself and the dogs were yelling all around it, and there he set I and them as quiet as a pond in low water. A greenhorn friend of mine and company reached shooting distance before me and blazed away, hitting the critter in the center of the forehead. The bar shook his head as the ball struck it, and then walked down from that tree as gently as a lady would from a carriage. It was a beautiful sight to see him do that. Then I told my neighbors on that Monday morning, name in the day that I would start that bar and bring him home with me. Or they might divide by settlement among them, the owner having disappeared. Well, stranger on that morning, previous to the great day of my hunting expedition, I went into the Woods near my house, taking my gun and bowing off along just from habit, and they're sitting down also from habit. What should I see? Getting over my fence, but the bar. Yes, the Obama was within a hundred yards of me. And the way he walked over that fence. Stranger, he loomed up like a black mist and he seemed so large. He walked right towards me. I raised myself, took deliberate aim and fired. Instantly, the var wield and gave Yale and walked through the fence like a fallen tree wood through a cobweb. And before I had really gathered myself up, I heard the environment grown in a thicket nearby like a thousand sinners. And by the time I reached him, he was a corpse. Stranger, it took 5 men and myself to put that carcass on a mule's back. An old long hair's waddled under his load, and if he was foundered in every leg of his body, and with a common whopper of a bar, he would have trotted off and enjoyed himself. Wouldn't astonish you to know how big he was. I made a bed spread of his skin. In the way it used to cover my bar mattress and leave several feet on each side to tuck up, would have delighted you. "In my opinion, this is one of the greatest moments in American literature. Dog at sees the bear with Bayonne surrounding him. He can't tell if the dogs had him hemmed up and caught or if the beast just didn't care that they were there, but he declares wasn't he a beauty, though. I loved him like a brother. You'll hear me and Steve rinella talk about this later, but Thorpe's insight seems beyond his time. This is also when the reader begins to see that the big bear of Arkansas is more than an uncultured barbarian. The hunt continues. "Trust you so much that you were like, hey, let's make a video. Yeah. Because that was in the 90s was when people started getting affordable home video cameras. Correct. And people were starting to film hunts and everybody was wanting to film their hunt. And so here you are undercover wildlife agent and you're like, hey, welcome. How I got him to do that was I had him film me first. You know what I'm saying? But you do the film. I want to be in front of the camera, you know, which is that what I wanted, you know. So we've done this several times, but on this particular day, we always narrated our hunt. And it was talking about it. He said, we had to do Kiki run today, because we bust them up in February or early March. And then we called back. We had these two turkeys and he goes, yeah, so we got two, and he was both Jake. He's holding them both up. Let's get out of here for the game we're going. And I'm thinking, where do you ain't got no idea? Hey, this is no joke. I currently drive a Chevy truck, have almost 200,000 miles on it and have never done anything to it, but change the oil, change the brakes, change the transmission fluid. RT said in the first episode that chasing men for this period of his life replaced his love of chasing animals. It was stuff like this that had to be a major dopamine drop. He knew that in court this type of evidence would be unbeatable. All he needed now was a lot more of it and oh, would he ever get it? Here's an interesting part of RT's ruse. What about his choice of weapon? We continued hunting and a hunt with a 22 rifle. Okay. The my excuse for that one. I had a 10.2 river with a scope on it. And they said, welcome to you there. Nice. Don't crack right loud. And I said, got scoop one, and I'll shoot him in the head and he ate like a shotgun. But it also helped me miss Ethan. Which I did. Yeah. 'cause you heart with these guys for too long. You don't miss many birds with a shotgun. No, no. And if a bird comes in on your side, you know, shoot it. If it comes in on my side, not, don't shoot at it. Something wrong. With the shot again, your chance of hitting that. If you miss that bird, you know, more than once it's like, why is this guy missing this patronage? Exactly. So I used a 22 for that purpose was like missed what that hard to explain. And I did miss two top, but they never questioned me missing. It gave him a good excuse to miss. That's really pretty brilliant. And that's interesting because it sure seems like Brit Reeves misses a lot too. Anyway, the old 22 and the 22 mag used to be, I don't know if it is anymore. The poaching weapon of choice back in the day. So RT was even breaking the law by the type of gun he was using to kill illegal turkeys. Man, this dude was a bad poacher. But let's carry on with operation red bud. I have a question for him. De poachers get jealous? So you hunt with him for as many as 40 to 60 illegal hunts. Over in one spring. From February till turkey sleeves. I mean, y'all a hundred every day then. Yeah. And so you were just his buddy. You were his I wasn't even running around with no. You ditched this. Now did that hurt his feelings? I don't think so. I'd go back with him every once in a while with, but I mean. Didn't. It was a mentor as well. So it was kind of cool that you were hunting with the guy and they all both had this friend. And we all hit, yeah. And I hung out with. Which I did not hang out with. I hung out with in a whole different type of relationship. Again, RT is emphasizing that he didn't just hang out much with target one, but his relationship with target two was different and more personal. So, now RT has, let's just say around 50 documented illegal turkey kills with target number one and another 50 plus with target number two. So what's he gonna do now? They've got to shut these guys down and I want to hear about the actual bust. You now have all this evidence. You got video. You got your testimony against the guy. You got everything against this target subject. And

"As we left mister Boyd's house, I was most impacted by his humility. It wasn't something that was put on for show. It was just who he was, and it protruded from him with great force. I love the people of the Ozarks, and I'm not saying that all of them are humble, but the ones who live their lives close to the land usually are. As we pull away from the old house, shepherd says, dad is mister Boyd gonna be one of your friends like James Lawrence. James is a dear friend of our family. I told him that I'd just met mister Boyd, and he lives a long way from us, and that I hope to see him again, but I didn't have plans to. And shepherd said, dad, it seems like if he's gonna be on your podcast, you shouldn't just never see him again. And I say, well, do you want to come back over here and hunt some time? And he said, yes, I do. I think shepherd was impacted by being around mister Boyd. Knowing that he was an accomplished baller and coon hunter. At this stage in his life, shepherd really isn't that interested in coon hunting. Though he goes with me and he's been to more trade dogs than either one of us can count, his primary focus is basketball. But my hope is that the exposure to something so radically different than sports will have expanded his horizon, increased his real life ability to solve problems. And to give him empathy for people in all walks of life. Don't get me wrong, ship loves to hunt, but I really don't care what he does. I just want him to be a successful human. In mostly, I want him to value character above everything. And I do hope that that humility, like mister Boyd has, is a key definer for his life. The bradleyville basketball dynasty story is incredible. We've used it to explore the ideas around benefits of specialization versus being a generalist. I know there can be great benefits, but the modern narrative of extreme specialization isn't always the best option. I was never a golfer like Gary nukem wanted me to be, but later in life, I have diversified and it's paid off for me big. Maybe this conversation will make you think about yourself and your kids. "This team. He said that the boys were great, they were easy to coach, and he said, I wasn't surprised about the state. Lisa, they lost a couple games that year, but he said we shouldn't have lost dollars. Yeah, they couple they lost Leon Boyd with sick. Yes. Is that what they say? And there was another one, something like that. And then they were never playing a big school. They were playing. They be Joplin, which was a school. 2000 students. Rather, I had had 60 or 70 students in whole school. Yeah, at the blue and gold tournament in Springfield, Darrell Paul had the record for the most part scored, and stood from 62 to 1995. Finally, it was broken by and you know, they started three pointers. So in the tournament, it was a record for that tournament or for the sermon for that term. Yeah. And it was before the three point line. So he was hitting what would have been counted as real. And the Bieber beat him, of course, most of the three borders. Right. So I mean, if they said, if they had done dear Paul, he still hold a record. Well, and a lot of guys said that we're in the know and new basketball at that time that he was potentially one of the best spot shooters ever in this item. I heard that from Charlie's funeral. He said, I watched his kid plays. I've never seen anybody catch the ball and release it almost instantly. It reminds me Steph Curry played out. He probably wasn't going to step curry, y'all, because in those days, boys didn't have AAU camps on summertime. We weren't allowed to play them several times. Right. I think the real thermometer for how good this team was was in that they were beating schools that were 20 times their size. As a side note, this great shooter Daryl Paul, who played with Leon Boyd on this team. He sadly passed away at the age of 27 in the 1970s from cancer. I want to get some more from this coon hunting point guard, mister Boyd. I want to hear his story. You look like you're in great shape right now. You look like you could outrun me right now. That's probably deceiving. So you were kind of on the team that brought an upswing that kind of started this bradleyville street of about 6 or 7 years where y'all were really good. Kind of let people know where Bradley bell was. Yeah. We had a lot of fun. So you were a point guard and as I understand it, you played basketball up into your adult life, just for fun. And I hurt my shoulder throwing a coon up my tree for the dough. Did you really? Really, so you played basketball till you were 70. Yeah, I played it. St. John's. I worked at bear 25 year and paid on league at baron and then I played town team bow, you know, with guys. I like the longevity and passion of mister Boyd playing organized basketball until he was 70 years old. And if you're gonna go down in an injury, why not go down doing the other thing that you loved? Coon hunting. I think there's a plausible connection in the diversity in mister Boyd's life. The physical fitness gained by playing ball his whole life enabled him to stay active as a coon hunter, or maybe it was the other way around. And it's possible that his coon hunting might have balanced out his passion for the game of basketball, allowing him to excel. I asked mister Ori to tell me the story of his big bucks. Here he goes. Well, I was, man, my boy, he was 14 years old, and we went to a cross over here and across told down a point down on the point where I left him on top of the hill, and I said, I was going down and wrote him that Nolan blows the rat, and 7 jump up something. And I was going to climb it over a bluff and scared four deer out of a bed down, roll me, you know. They run off, and so what is these on down the bluff? There are went on down and found her beds, where I go by it. Went on down about 6500, about 90 yards. The other side of it, and I hear to rack it behind me. And I looked around and I saw this 28 point welcome and I could see you could kill one without I think a spike or they just need to pull the horns. I could see them horns I saw he had enough horns that he shoots, so I couldn't see nothing, but a spot between two trees, so I shot him in the flanks. And I thought, well, I've crippled him. And so I was shot him and he'd come right through by me and brought about and I think it's 93 yards, and he failed at right over from me. I'll be there. What did you think when you walked up to him and started counting those points? What do you think? Yeah. But I was left, man. White and got my boy. Yeah. He's 14 years old. Now how'd you get him out of there? I know about where we drove him to the creek on down to creek and talking about the creek, because we couldn't back up the bluff where I'd come from. Okay. No worse doing to him. Rigg was setting on top the mountain, so had to go back up and get it, but I wouldn't be talking down the creek and talking about the cracker and run on some hardest earned a boy that he had Volkswagen. He took us back to Riggs and hauled it up to where we could get it. I'll be darn. And then you killed another one. Now was it a few years later, when did you kill that? Two weeks later, two weeks later. I'll be darned. Same area. No, no, it was back north here. Okay. So what about this second deer? How did that happen? Checking a man's cattle and a creek here, and he is from neglect Texas and I went up and of course he did so you need one. I had my gun weapon. So he had a big pond built on and I just, I don't remember. I was just water doing anyway. This deer was this tough and I think it was that running out to there. And I saw the big horns and I started shooting a shot. I think he's 9 times at it. Whatever it takes. And the last shot of shot, he fell right backwards. He's running fast. Yeah. I think one. One of those 9 bullets hit the left main beam of the buck and almost broken in half. How he reloaded and shot that many times I do not know. But regardless, a 186 inch mainframe ten point with long curved brow tines and an inner set of matching G three times that lean into the rack with a striking pair of 7 inch drop tons, hit the dirt, creating an unmatchable white tail streak for the old bluff hunter. Being a partaker of a white tail streak of luck. Doesn't mean that the streaker didn't utilize skill and hard work. As a matter of fact, most streaks are highly correlated to these things. But sometimes stuff happens that is far beyond the control or the work ethic of the streaker. And it's a beautiful thing when someone ready, intersects with fate. I actually think that deep down humans bank on streaks of good favor and even plan for them. Like it's coded in our DNA. For the most part, we know that the work we put into our lives will yield a standard return. We learn to live off this percentage yield and we know that at any time a streak or some kind of unusual favor far beyond our

"Tracks and see if they had stolen anything. Intercept tracks of Indians that were coming south and alert villages, alert settlements of what's coming, if there was we're kidnappings or burning of buildings, they might get on the trail and follow to go get retribution. And at any given time, there were any small collection of these groups out doing like the scouting, or these groups, these frontiers would also ally themselves with the military. And when the military is going to do like a formal campaign, they're out ahead to find where their camped, to make sure they don't fall into ambushes. Same like in Vietnam, the long range reconnaissance patrollers. Yeah. They were just out in the jungle, listening, looking, gathering intelligence. When you understand that too, it helps to understand why these guys you give some context for why they were doing what they were doing. And why that these guys would be potential folk heroes, not even folk heroes, like just legitimate cultural heroes, because they were the ones that were protecting quote unquote. These whites, the first line of defense, and also delivered. A Euro American. You're a white setter at this time. Your child's abducted and someone delivers your child back to you. I mean, that's one of the things that made a boon famous. It's the most kind of like iconic hero tale. Oh yeah. Wetzel never looked back after becoming an Indian scout. Here we'll learn some of his exploits that made him a folk hero of the region amongst the whites. Wetzel, there's two times that he was documented on heaven saved somebody's wife. And it was the same story both times. He's out hunting with somebody or traveling with a man. And the woman was back home, you know, with the family. Two different times. He went back with the guy and found the cabin burned in the family gone. And usually the women were spared and the children. Also, painting an idea for just the brutality of the era, the first guy, his last name was tush. He was hunting. It was a young guy. And I don't even think they had kids, but there was an extended family there with some men in the man's new wife, and they're going to have dinner, you know? I mean, they're like coming home and they get there and they see smoke and they come and they find the dead bodies of all the men scattered about and the hogs had gotten loose. Their tame hogs and had eaten the bodies. They could just mangle the bodies. And then, but the woman is missing and Lewis wetzel. I mean, it sounds like a movie. You know, Lewis wetzel finds the tracks of a size 6 woman shoe going off with a moccasins. And so they know that she's alive. And so it takes him two days, but they catch him and kill the Indians and save the lady. And I mean, that was a common story. Hey, this is no joke. Here, chip will tell us the story showing us that Lewis's killing of Indians was motivated by far more than it being his employment. He was cold, blooded. There was a time he was living in the Marietta area, which mariette is a town right on the Ohio River. It's the oldest town in Ohio. I think it's the oldest town in the northwest territory. At one point, the people there were getting tired of the Indian wars and so forth and they decided we have to try and settle this. Make a treaty or do something. So they got a hold of a bunch of tribes and they said, let's get together. Let's have a piece of about three months and the tribes agreed. And they camped about two miles north of the river and would walk back and forth to Marietta for meetings and that kind of thing. Well, there was one Seneca chief who always walked by himself, which was not good. Guess who was living there and noticed this. Lewis. And Lewis knew that these were not hostile Indians at this time. But he didn't care. So at one day he lays for this chief and as soon as he got within 50 yards, he steps out from cover, didn't say anything, just pulls his rifle up and shoots and hits him in the chest. Of course, a chief goes down. He runs up, he scouts him, runs off, and everybody knows who is Lewis once. This guy had long black hair. He had a particular colored hat, blah blah blah. So they go grab Louis. They put him on trial, and they bluntly ask him, Louis, did you kill this Indian? Yes, I did. And he wasn't didn't feel guilty about it. No remorse, no nothing..

"Control. We need more stable households that have a deep commitment to not only making sure that young boys and girls make good grades, but that they're men and women of character. I think kids, and even adults need to have a better understanding of ecology and the importance of conserving not just individual species. But also conserving the ecosystem as a whole. But I think the number one thing that we can do in addition to exposing more young people to the outdoors is doing exactly what you're doing on this podcast and as talk about the nexus of wild things while places in can people and how these resources don't just exist to exist, but they exist for us to for us to steward them and to enjoy them and the only way to do that in perpetuity is to take care of the best we can. And some of the most remote places in the lower 48 states are in Wyoming. They have an incredible population of Elk, bears. They got everything. While means incredible place. The wild west signifies freedom and wide open spaces. These are themes that feel particularly relevant. Wyoming is the least populated state, which are like a lot. This is language that we should all be familiar with and be able to wield an intelligent ways as we continue to carve out a stable position in modern society. Remember this, the public trust doctrine. So the public trust doctrine is one of the foundational pillars of the North American model of wildlife conservation. And it is a repudiation of the European model, which is essentially that if you owned a tract of land that you also owned the wildlife that were on it. So you can go back hundreds of years ago if there was a peasant that lived adjacent to royalty or some other aristocrat. And there was some way to prove that the peasant killed a deer that came from the rich person's land, then they could be convicted for it. So some private ownership, private ownership of wildlife, yes. The public trust doctrine repudiates that. And says that there is such a universal interest in wildlife and seeing them flourish and the opportunity to enjoy wildlife that wildlife are universally owned by the public in the present and in the future. Now that would have been radical doctrine that was unique to North America. Is that right from a global perspective? Yes, that's correct. So this was something that was part of what Shane Mahoney called American genius inside of a North American model of wildlife conservation that we it's so counterintuitive too because you would think if you wanted to protect something that you would cinch it down to centralize control and not let everybody else in on it. But we're saying everybody owns wildlife. So deer on my property, even though they're on my property are not mine. That's great. Their own my neighbor and by you and by people in Nebraska. That's correct. And the context for the public trust doctrine, I think is very important because a lot of it, the broad public support for it was born out of the early 1900s when we had exhausted wildlife to extirpation throughout the country. And so from a conservation sportsman perspective as a country, we were picking up the pieces. And saying, how do we make this better? How do we not only increase wildlife on the landscape, but also ensure that this doesn't happen to the next generation. So there was a big appeal at that time there was made a ton of sense that that's what we needed to do. Are you saying that now there's voices that are saying that is not as relevant? Yeah, it has some challenges, it's met some resistance in other states. Fortunately, not Arkansas, but people are often tempted to think more about wildlife as an agricultural resource. There.

"When I think about the big picture of human hunting and I think about jumps and technology like going from adult adults to using rifles. I think about going from times when we did not have GPS capabilities to today when we have the Onyx hunt maps on our smartphones. Spring will be here before you know it and I'm already looking forward to getting out and hunting turkeys and bears this season. One tool that I've used for years and has helped me and my success has been the Onyx hunt app. The Hun app provides detailed public and private land names and boundaries, hunt specific layers. It is a fully functional GPS route on your smartphone, even if you don't have cell coverage. This year, I'll use it on my turkey has to be dialed in on my property boundaries and to use a track so I'll know where I've been and where I've called. Also we'll use it out west to give me security on those big deep backcountry huts that'll give me the confidence to get in there and stay in there longer. Use the code bear grease. "Road. Climb down, throw a few rocks from, I don't climb up. It was phenomenal here. And then turn around. Use it all winter ice fishing. You know, we fish on a lot of stuff, you could drive your regular like a regular pickup out on the ice. These things are lighter. You're kind of more in tune, you know? You roll down the window, you can sort of read the ice better. I pull my little ice fish and trailer behind it. It's just easy to get in and out of dealing with kids and stuff. It's a great tool. I didn't realize how much I would love and use. A can am. Until I got one. Head on over to can am off road. Dot com to learn more and check out their full line of products. I currently drive a Chevy truck, have almost 200,000 miles on it, and I've never done anything to it, but change the oil, change the brakes, change the transmission fluid. He's a lifelong turkey hunter and a good one at that. This story involves some family, the saline river bottoms, a tough turkey, and some mosquitos. Now this story happened over 25 years ago, but it was turkey's season. It was going into the second week of turkey. So he's not already killed one, but my brother hadn't, and we always did everything together. We would goose on it. We squirrel hunted, we duck on it. Any kind of hunting fish in whatever, we always did together, except. Turkey hunt. Turkey hunting was it was understood that every man was on his own. But we're getting into two weeks in the season, and he calls one night and asked me what I'm doing the next morning. Mister well, it's still turkey seasoning them turkey hunt. He said, well, look, I need you to help me do something. I thought oh my gosh. He's want me to help him work on some. It's turkey season. I guess apparently he's given up, but whatever it is, he's my brother, so I'm going to help him. I said, well, what is it? He says, I want you to come help me kill this turkey. I'm like, what turkey? He said, look, I'm going to be honest. I've been hunting this turkey every day for 11 days in a row. In 11 days in a row, I have zigged when I should have zagged. He's done everything in the world opposite of what he did the day before. If I set up on the north side of him, he flies down to the south for two days in a row he'll do that on the third day I set up on the south side he'll fly down to the north. He's doing everything he's reading my mind and the only way I think I can kill him is if we tag team him, will you help me? Well, yes. Yes, I will, help you. And all the time in my mind, I'm thinking I'm gonna kill that turkey. So the next morning, I get to his house. Well before daylight, he's got breakfast ready. And we sit and we have breakfast and we drink coffee and we discuss on how we gonna attack this turkey and he tells me then where he's at down in the river bottoms. So with breakfast that we load up in his truck and down the road we go. Now where this is at is in the Selena river bottoms in Cleveland county. There's a boat ramp there that's named after my father, my family's connection with that area, and that hunting ground is dates back to when our family helped settle that part of Arkansas before the Civil War. So it's weed to say that we've got a connection to that place down there is a very huge understatement. But anyway, we get down there. We park on the side of the road with a gravel road and there's an old dim Logan road that goes up into the Woods, and that's where he's been here in this Turkic gobble. Every morning, two or three days before the season, it started, so actually about 15 days in a row, this turkey is goblin. Tim said, from the same tree almost, on the same couple of acres anyway. So, morning number 12, we're sitting there, birds start chirping a little bit. It gets goblin time. Nothing. It gets own past first goblin time. Nothing. Nothing. No turkeys anywhere. It gets past fly down time. Nothing. Not a peak. So he said, well, let's go down the road to another spot. Let's make a big loop up through the Woods. We'll see if we can strike up a gobbler. So that's what we do. We drive about half a mile down the road. We get out of the truck and we start walking. We make a huge loop up through the bottoms up through the river bottoms. And we never find or hear turkey. We find lots of fresh sign, but we don't do any good. So it's now it's after ten when we get back to the truck. And we are just defeated. I just knew I was going to be the good luck charm for that, but also I was kind of aggravated that I had wasted my morning to kill my second turkey down there, helping my brother and his futile attempt with his turkey that was obviously smarter than both of us. So on the way out, he says, you know, I'm gonna pull back in and see if I can make this turkey gobble. Old Hickory nut, oh tough one. So he pulls over on the side of the road there. I just cracked my window. To listen because it's dinnertime. And for those of you that don't know, down here, we eat breakfast, and then we eat dinner at noon, and then we eat supper. So now you know the time of day I'm talking about. So he walks in front of his truck, he's got an old box column on his hand and he doesn't get to the third Yelp on that box when that Turkic gobbled out there, and he couldn't have been more than a hundred yards. It was so loud in the truck that I thought he could see it, so he was so close. And the look of astonishment and amazement and surprise and fear on my brother's face when he turned and looked at me, sitting in the cab of his truck was a look I'll never forget. So I ease the door open, grab my call and up the road. I mean, we are tiptoeing up this road as a little dim road to get away from the truck. Just far enough, and at an angle that you can't see the truck that's parked there on the gravel. So we get just outside of that truck and we sat down. And I play in had been for him to sit close and meet a set behind him or at a different angle. And maybe we could get the turkey working, and then I could take over the Colin, and he would come on in to investigate and then Tim would be close to him and he'd drop the hammer on him. But this morning, since we had no time to prep. No time to get where we initially planned to do when we sat down, we sat down beside each other. He is his shoulders touching my shoulder. Now we're staring at and through this little low bottom, and it's a hardwood bottom, but there's some undergrowth in there and there's some briar bushes, and there's a few small trees and the leaves are put out pretty good, so it's while it's open, there still is places where you could actually move a Turkic could walk through, then you wouldn't be able to see. So my brother sticks his mouth Colin his mouth, he makes little old yep in the turkey gobbles..

"I get this with some of my writing buddies where one goes, hey, man, I'm right in the middle of a business deal. I just can't talk about fun stuff. I mean, that's the exact words. I don't have time to talk about fun stuff. So we love to share, I can't wait to tell him something that I've done. With my machine, you know, I want to talk about it. So it's really fun. It's like you take a trip in people say, preparation is as much fun as your vacation. In a hunting trip, especially, you're preparing your shoot and your bow, you're getting your equipment, you're buying that. You get that's as much fun as going out there and sitting in a tree for 5 or 6 days. He's not seeing a deer, you know what I mean? So there's a social aspect out of the race to see what you say about that. But that's entertainment. And most of that entertainment, I think is survival. You know, I'm trying to survive. I'm Gary nukem. I'm trying to survive. I got to have mental health, physical health. I can just go to spiritual, and just go down the list. I need all that to be healthy and to be healthy. I can't be taken care of day and root. I got to take care of me, none of us can. So yeah. So, you know, we do things to make each of those aspects of our life stronger. You know, I want to build my image up and dance. So he will respect me more. I want to show him a picture this deer so he'll know, for sure that I'm probably a better hunter than clay. You know, I mean, so everything you said, I agree with where would you put the entertainment though? But you didn't put the entertainment in there. That's because I'm not very good, but as just even as you're saying entertainment makes me think you know a lot of times entertainment week talk about it almost has like a negative connotation. Oh, you're just wasting your time on so much entertainment or we'll go to some kind of entertainment to distract ourselves from what we really need to be doing. But sharing things that bring us joy has immense amount of value. I mean, that's really what entertainment. Is that not relationship building? That is relationships. I think that would be like a subcategory because you're not sharing entertaining stuff with someone that you aren't that doesn't have some interest in what you're doing. Absolutely. And you're trying to say, man, I need somebody that'll laugh with me today. And it's more than if social media is kind of pseudo identity validation. I get a like and I kind of feel better, but also don't. Like, rusty. So I knew that was cool. He even looked at. You grabbed me that curly beard..

My dad gary nukem was unable to come today. He loves coming up here and a lady that was ninety eight years old. That was quite influential in his career. Passed away in the funeral today and he couldn't get around coming so he went to that funeral way to bring well. No it's a celebration man celebration. Golly if you have ninety eight years old people wanna come to your funeral. You probably are doing pretty good so get but hey gary nukem. There is rumor on the internet. Of like gary nukem fan club people multiple panthers. I think it's called the black. The black parents are believers. Yeah no so. There's a couple of things. I want to bring up that some some feedback that i got in. I want you guys chime in with your commentary. So on the acre and podcast. And that's what we'll talk about. I okay we're going to get to a point where we don't have multiple episodes to discuss in every beggars render this one. We have to last beggar surrender. We had a bunch more. But i had some guys hit me pretty hard for the way i think i was. One of these people will tell me what you say. I have no problem with your use of the whether you choose to to say acre n- or acorn makes no difference to me. What i do have a problem with is the way you pronounce pronounciation. I didn't know that was a word was thought it was pronunciation. It was spelled but apparently there's a dialect. How do you pronounce okay. Yeah for many many people. Were like clay. great podcasts. Do your say pronounciation is totally wrong. I never even. I didn't hear you dare. I say pronounciation do you really. Yes you say pronunciation. Its pronunciation germ pronunciation just a few miles south of him and we said pronunciation pronunciation. No it's fair game. That's exactly the kind of feedback on need. I think i'm not going to change doctor. Dana rupe can work with you on. You would say pronounciation i would. I guess i'm wrong. Say that the way that i think about it is i. Don't i've never pronunced a word. Been worried about the way a pronuncia word until now that i have to say pronunciation. I couldn't see where i'm going with this. I thought you had a mini stroke. Because that's the thing that was one thing that came up. Hey the people came out in droves to leave reviews on itunes for us is awesome. And we i mean like i dunno sometimes like you just wanna do somebody favor just for no good reason and and it's it's helped us in overwhelmingly like positive reviews a couple couple. Not so positive buddy. Stand up for me. Not having been on the beggar's podcast. Nobody was worried about that. We think it's a silent majority. Yeah so to find those bad reviews. You'll have to go through and read all the other reviews so you're not gonna read them about your message about giving too much credit to the bad guys and the people are going to be like well. Let's leave a bad happens if you've read one and somebody's like oh yeah. I never thought that. Change my review so thanks to everybody. That's listening that gave us two interviews. I was really great acorn podcast. A guy sent me a guy from amador. California sent me a private message on instagram about this. First nation tribe called the me walks m. w. o. k. s and. There's this big. And i believe it. Sandstone i'm not sure the type of rock that it is but it's in this area that they used to camp and whatnot and a lot of the the indians in california they. There's several tribes that milled acres into flour and made bread. And so there's this rock this big rock that spent as big as the the building here that we're in and there were holes divots in the rock where they had ground acres flower four presumably thousands of years and so he he wanted to show me that and there's an incredible video that was made in the nineteen thirties making acre bread. And it was you could tell it was like a real deal. Native american lady and it was in california. I'm not sure if she was one of the me walks. But there's a. There's a video making bread from acorns. I think it's on youtube but this guy said he's friends. One of his friends is a me walk and he told his me walk good friend about the akron podcast. And he said hey. This guy made his podcast about acres. This is what his friend said to him. He said well he said i told my me. Walk buddy about your podcast. And he said thank god. I don't have to eat my uncle's acre and soup again..
