"Is perhaps the most difficult deployment you've ever been on. Well we've. We've had. been on one hundred and thirty deployments and twenty five states and nine four countries we could have we. We've seen quite a lot I'll tell you I think Hurricane Lars, gotta be there at number. Five. I mean Katrina. Hurricane Michael Hurricane. Maria and and Puerto Rico Hurricane. Doreen and the Bahamas, mean those those just sneak in ahead of Hurricane Laura. It was that's significant down there and so. We've we've. We've just had some real difficult. This this one will go down as one of the top. I mean the heat has probably been the biggest challenge that we face. We've got one hundred and ten heat index, and our chefs are working and mobile kitchens, and it gets up to one hundred, twenty, one, hundred, and twenty one and the kitchens we've got to rotate bath in and out the the heat is really been the the biggest limitation that we chased down there and our team is doing an amazing job there they're also passionate and dedicated to the call. It's just incredible. If you. Are Listening to this program and would like to contribute and I would advise you to consider. Contributing to mercy shifts. The website is mercy chefs dot Org. MERCYSHIPS DOT COM DOT COM. So Y C. H. E. F., S. dot com, and. Gerry just goes on these deployments. And just trust God for the money. I, mean, you know they're they're they're sitting there buying food and the grocery bills coming in and he's saying we need money to pay for this. Is this it ain't like they're just sitting with all this cash in the bank waiting to go spend it they are completely. Dependent upon their their donors, and that's the amazing. Kind of risk taking faith element of it that. Stands out to me is is how you do these things and you just go and expect. That the money's going to be provided to you. What you do that what you have to do I mean we get our groceries and tractor trailer trucks. I mean everybody out there knows how expensive is the go and fill up a back seat or trump with with bags of groceries imagine when a whole tractor trailer truck. Them. Full of groceries. That's that's what we face and that's what we deal with. But folks have been really faithful to us and we do believe I. Don't I don't think you can relieve you received something If you're holding onto something else you've you've got to open your hand and let go of what you're you to receive more and so with mercy chefs where that way we just put it all on the line and for fourteen years now the Lord has been faithful and we've worked as hard as we possibly can. But. But honestly the only limitation that mercy chefs face is the funding. That's that's the only barrier we have how far we can go and how much we can do. So if You've heard something that. Makes you want to respond go to MERCY CHEFS DOT COM. And Gary I won't tell you. Funny Quick Story I was driving through a stopped appaloosas one time and had some Some food there and the guy told me he said you can't go wrong with any restaurant in this town. So anyway after. That's I guess that's where Paul Perdomo was from. Well. Mercy ships is no. Different. Well that whole area down there is the land of passionate smoothies and. Generations and generations they've been perfecting the art. And it. It is an amazing place to go visit especially. Yeah. Listen. It's been great having you. Thank you God bless you sir. And what you're doing? And maybe we'll have you back sometime in the future. Thank you Gary Leblanc, for joining us. This closes out the first hour. The Tom DuPrey show. "The Supreme Court in June. Struck down a Louisiana Law that required abortion doctors to have admitting privileges at a nearby hospital. The vote was five four with both of trump's nominees. Neal gorsuch and Brett cavenaugh voting with the minority to uphold the law. The Will Louisiana law pence edge seems perfectly reasonable for anybody that cares about women's health. But this Supreme Court voted five to four to strike that law down which leads me to only one conclusion that we need. More Conservatives on the Supreme Court of the United States and we need four more years of President Donald Trump in the White House. Pence said trump has kept his word to the American people in the last election. To appoint principal conservatives to the judiciary. Pence. said on other issues. Pence noted that he became the first vice-president to address the march for life in person. And trump became the first president to do the same. We stand without apology to all of you for the right to life. Speaking boldly in support of the pro-life 'cause pence said is one reason he believes life is winning. The willingness of men and women in public life into no less extent in pulpits in places of worship. Around this country just like this one to Stanford Life Without apology is the reason why life is winning in America again Pence said. He also contrasted the administration's record on abortion to that of the Democratic ticket. Both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Dan, for platform and stand with the party that supports abortion on demand. Right up to the moment of birth. Elizabeth I think about. Our Boys. That were when they were born in. The True Miracle. Of Life. that. They brought into our lives and. How? Horrible it would be if they weren't here at this point. Well it gets back to the blessing from God. God's hand being on the situation in that situation. and. Also think about. My Grandmother who. When she was pregnant with my father. The doctor I knew she was going to have a difficult delivery in actually recommended. That, she might. Terminate the pregnancy. and. She refused to do it. Well, you've talked about that story several times on the show and I think that that it for save reason, it stays with me. It's had an IT's why you're here and I think that's one of the reasons you have such an emotional reaction to the whole subject. She died three days later after. Dad was born and. You know. I. Sometimes. Think about. Things in terms of you know life seems difficult. And I look at someone who makes a decision like that To basically end her own life. She didn't know that that's the way it was gonNA turn out but the doctors the doctors warned her. I think she knew. That's that's what I'm told. And Anyway it's some some kind of deal. Repent of democratic support or face the fires of Hell Catholic. Priests warns. Father James Altman a pastor. From. Saint James. parish in Lacrosse Wisconsin is urging Catholics. Not to support the Democratic Party which he labelled as godless. According to Religion News Service Altman's rick marks were made in a video that was published last week by Alpha News. A news outlet based in Minnesota at the time of this writing. The video had nearly. Forty four hundred thousand views. Here's a memo to clueless baptized Catholics out there you cannot be Catholic in a Democrat period. Altman asserted. Their party platform absolutely against everything the Catholic Church teaches he added. So just quit pretending you're Catholic and vote Democrat. Repent of your par- support of that party. And its platform are faced the fires of hell boy guess. Getting into it. As almond speaks the video cuts to images of promise prominent democratic. CRAT. Even say the word Kratz including professing. Catholics Nancy Pelosi. And Joe Biden. The photo of Pelosi, shows her speaking at an abortion rally boy. And so. We can see in the many godless politicians in the godless educational system. In the godless of so many sheep polls. They are most definitely not serving him. They are not fulfilling their purpose. In Life. Regarding people who don't believe that politics have a place in the Catholic Church Altman says Baloney. Citing. Words from Pope Benedict Sixteenth. Allman. said that while the church isn't a political power or party, it is a moral power. In which they must speak out against immoral politicians. He then proceeded to denounce. Reverend James Martin. A Jesuit priest who gave a benediction. At the Democratic National Convention I guess it's okay. For James, Martin to spout off for the Democrats on their national stage. But God forbid appre speak out against their godless platform Altman said in a video. He also slammed bishops who support the black lives matter organization as well as. Planned parenthood whom he described as the most racist organization on the face of this planet. There will be sixty million abortions and counting aborted baby standing at the gates of heaven barring you're Democrat entrance and nothing. You can say well, ever excuse you for your direct or indirect support. Of. That diabolical agenda. that. Goes without saying. I see you're giving me the hook. "They're in a different country with a different language, and it's because people are interfacing with one another becomes easy and also necessary to speak the language of the neighboring country. So I mean, my grandmother. Who grew grew up in America arriving at the age of two spoke seven languages because that's what they spoke in the house and the neighbors spoke so just because of the people living around, then she spoke seven languages and perfect American English. And that's what happens when you're living in a place. So if you want to know the best way to learn a language go to the country where it's spoken in hang out a lot. That's really the best way. And I have on the line at the moment. Somebody who does a lot of traveling to a lot of places both domestic and internationally. He is Gary LeBron he is the founder and president of a company called mercy. Chefs and they are based in Portsmouth Virginia, but you will often find him and his compatriots travelling to some destination where life is stressful, and they make themselves available to prepare and present and provide to those who are suffering with some catastrophic situation truly gourmet food, which has got to be. I mean, it's enough to just get food. When there's been an earthquake of flood a tornado some hurricane some condition that has made life very difficult to get food. At all is a great thing to get food. That's prepared by gourmet chefs now, you're talking and what a blessing for those people. And I am sure. In many ways, you know, a very special gift in the life of the chefs involved because they have to. You know it. It's one thing to feel really successful. Because of what you do. But what you are doing is such a a special benevolent treat for the people. You're doing it for that has to give you some very strong satisfaction as well. And we're going to learn more about that. Because we're lucky enough to have Gary LeBlanc on the line. With me is your family French-Canadian. Occasion family from south Louisiana. I have a very dear friend whose maiden name is LeBlanc, and they are from the Acadia area of Canada. So so where you're probably related we'll claimer his family. But that's a lovely thing. And she knows all about gourmet eating. So you're somebody wanted to know for sure how did you get into what you do today? When did you found this company? Gary. We were founded in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. I went to college in New Orleans, and then started in the hotel and restaurant business and spent twenty or thirty years there where you were in Louis. Yeah. New Orleans I worked at at the mama Liana commander's palace, and Mr. fees and got the very best education, you could possibly get hospitality and culinary arts. I'll bet was living in Virginia when Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans and realize that I needed to do something to help. So I went down and volunteered with other groups. But was really appalled that the quality of food and anybody that helps I think I've lost some. But I thought there was a better way that you could see people in aftermath of a disaster. And so what you do. Founded mercy chefs nine months after Katrina dedicated the sheeting high-quality handcrafted, chef prepared meals and national emergencies and natural disasters. And we've been at it now for twelve years, and we're coming up on our two millions meal. Well, how many chefs are involved we have three chefs on staff, but it's the volunteer. Chefs that makes this really happen. We have shafts that are working with us right now in Wilmington and say Advil, North Carolina that have come in from Texas, and Illinois and Virginia and Florida and West Virginia and with more coming every day from around the country to help. I have to look up this fellow's name, and I'm going to do that right now while we're talking. Okay. I'm spelling it wrong. But God bless Google. It's giving it to me. Right. Did you mean? Do you know a fellow named Marielle low loan injure L O H N I N G E R loan injure. I don't think he was a chef at a restaurant near the twin towers, and you may recall the stories without membrane his name, particularly. That place prepared twenty five thousand meals a day. Can you imagine they were serving breakfast lunch dinners snacks? To the first responders to the people in the neighborhood who didn't move away. And that went on for three months and the guy who owned the restaurant in the building. He didn't own the building the guy who owned the restaurant had to pay the landlord. What he expected monthly and rent? They did all this thing. All everything they did they did as a charitable donation. They were getting a lot of food from Colorado and New Jersey and other farmland states in between that were sending product to them. But nonetheless, the the guy had expenses and after three months, he went bust and Marielle went back to he's Austrian. But he went to Germany where his parents were living and they own low loan angers restaurant. In frankfurt. If you're going to Frank for people go eat there, and he's a partner in whole binds restaurant in the museum whose name I can't remember. I think it's called the museum S T A D. It's right on the river there on the the mine river, it's little skinny river at that point. And so the to the Holbein restaurant inside the museum and down the street won't loan or.
