"Armstrong and Great, man. Yeah, I know a guy who still has a closet full of a record. Like he probably has no no exaggeration. He probably has over a thousand album, but no record player Tom to give them me. I'll definitely mention you to them and see just so you also had some comedians on and one of the ones that kind of money. I know where you're going. Why doesn't yeah, if you didn't know where I'm going course, I would of course, he was about Bob Nelson. Well, so also the fact that she looks so freaking old and he's my age but you looking for Rodney Dangerfield for eight years my friend and you come back and we'll see what you look like. All right, we open from Rodney fix years. Wow. Yeah, I usually eight or nine years something like that before Rodney got his TV show going with dice and Tennyson. All right, that was such a great episode then so yep. You'd like to the Morton Downey days, right? That's when you know what Bob Nelson and Kennison. Oh God, they're so great to laugh back then but what got me about Nelson in your interview is he's a Massapequa boy, but wage people I grew up in a town to Two Towns over and they've been claiming him as one of their sport since I can remember since I was a teenager, we're all told Bob Nelson's a co-pay guy. He's from Co pay and now I learn these in Massapequa. I'm kind of upset about that and I don't want to break people from Copiague heart that he's not right to smell the fake news people, but I got the man I tell you the truth, you know, but he's still working long. Does he still work at all? I don't think so. He said that there was a local theater that had made a little stage set that he was going to try do something with before covid-19. Today it's more than ever comedians into right? Right, right. They can't just rely on material and back when he was doing it. You could milk a set that he had for several years and not have not to do a whole new hours. I don't think you change the material that much and I think that's probably why his career is he's not working so much anymore. He's just not writing. Yeah. Yeah, I think you're probably right but he's right settings of right. So we'll see. I I think he sounded like anxious to get into that setup and do is, you know start creating again. So what what what inspired you to go after him to get as a guest. It's funny that I did a bunch of cameos. So I see no Cameo. Yes. I wanted to talk you about Cameo if you want to bring it there now, but he was one of the people I was like a V and was like, who do I want to watch my shows name? Nobody knows who I am, right? So who do I think would a cools a basket? Right? So I wrote a little Zappos thing right had them say great googly moogly and or if she said a couple of Zappa things and Bob was one of the people Was affordable and you did it and it was great. You know, I also had Gary Holt from Slayer. I had gave it Hasselhoff. I had Gilbert godfried right outside of Marky Ramone. Like, you know, my wife to kill me buying all these areas, but it was fun and was a way to kind of get someone to you know for me it was funny watching them to Zappa things. Right? So it was Alonzo bodden like I think it's one of the best comedians in a modern time, but you know remember him from he was on that reality show with the comedy reality show but regardless really funny guy and he was obviously didn't know Zappa but he's you know, you read the regular Emoji. Yep. I just said Mako like it was it was really funny, you know, make myself laugh and try to you know, yeah just having fun man. So Bob came from who did The Cameo and then I reached out on his website. I get a feeling for someone. It's like I woke up on Facebook see where they're at. They put something out recently and then go to the website and then see if they have a publisher or if you just Reach Out directly and you know, and that's it. It's dead. Next thing, you know, boom. I have the original lead singer of ACDC coming on my show this weekend. Wow, that's pretty cool. That's definitely true school was a fucking guess for me brother. That's like have you done any Australia any Australian know I've done Germany I have so a singer book in Scotland. I think that's it's mostly been in the states. Mostly. Yeah. It's I've had probably about 20 so far back and forth from Australia, and I've only done one the other way to Hawaii. I got another one coming up in for Hawaii next month. I'm interested in that but that's a long way. So I think and again I know forty-five I'm trying to get guess where you where your frame of references on this, but I remember the days where if I were going to call Australia just on the phone and be on the phone with them for an hour. I have to mortgage my house. I would have to take a socket hundred bucks a hundred bucks, right? Oh, no way more than that. Did you talk to Australia for an hour? You're talking thousands of dollars off? Like now that's not the case, you know, cuz I wouldn't be doing it. Right and so but now we talk live face-to-face television streaming for nothing and it's just it blows my mind when I think of it and things like that cuz I grew up with you know, it would pick Tracy with this watch phone and TV phone where you could see people on his watch and stuff and that stuff was all science fiction and now it's part of life in a very it's a very strange so the the wise guys going out to the pay phone to make the call when they couple of quarters and they came back in. Yeah. What happened? Yeah. What happened to that song Like The Cameo thing I wanted to talk you about because I I again, I'm in a stickler for stuff and and stuff gets them and I don't let it go and you're right. I do need to let it go. You're right. I do need to let him know but the Tamia stuff feels cheap to me. It feels like because they're willing to it's nice to get a greeting from a celebrity and if I knew a celebrity to have and I knew off. New one that I'd say, you know what it Mike's birthday is coming up. Could you give them a call and say happy birthday to him? I think that would be a great thing but when it started it started right, but when they charge and we'll do it for any length of It kind cheapens it a little bit it feels a little bit like prostitution to me in a way like sell myself out. So you spot you you read sponsors out right before this month. Yes. So were you were there John over they go junk. Yeah. Well a little bit. Yeah, I got you. I got you but know what especially now I think it's different but pretty covid-19 one sitting at home. And so they're not making money, right? So they're celebrities are certain level. Like, you know a Floyd Merriweather doesn't need it. But you know Bob Nelson Mike, but but Floyd Merriweather Sunday just has a higher price. But someone is Bob Nelson might need that 50 bucks said, you know, what if he gets ten a week that can make a difference in his life. Right? Well that hurts my heart to even think that well, but that's the reason why yep If I could not be so cynical. Oh, yeah, and I got to me. I don't know the reason I'm cynical and it worked this way. I reached out to a celebrity somebody who was a comedian and magician but I'm saying too much already and I asked I asked him if he would be on the podcast and I got just do an email and I got a wrong email back saying who the fuck are you? Do you realize who I am? Why would I give you the time of day as I call it? Crap man? You can just said no and I wrote that back. I said a simple no would suffice and then he came back with an even uglier meaner. And I was like man, you're so full of yourself. And then I saw him on Cameo doing things just happy birthday for 65 bucks. And I was like, are you kidding me? You're selling yourself for 65 bucks, but who the fuck am.

"Well, you know at this point I had been with my high school sweetheart, my husband. We've been together for like thirty years and. Had A son together and I have to say he did an amazing job of helping of supporting me while I got back on my feet and But there was just this. Polling to to leave to move out on my own and there wasn't anyone else in mall there was. This sense that I needed to be out on my own and sheriff's custody of my our son, and so that's when I went out on my own, and lived a couple miles from him so that it was easy, and we've remained friends to this day, and then a year and a half later is when I met Gary Holt who's the the the one physicist who went out into the outbound. That's when I learned about the aboriginal healing secrets, and about the amazing aboriginal remote people and how they're living in the. Fifth Dimensional Existence sheltered from people so that yeah I but I had to go through that it was difficult to leave that marriage then. Leyshon, ship, but I just knew we were growing apart, and if I leave things, would not, they would deteriorate. So you asked and we're. You're listening to the angels at that time or were you? Back Kim leader. Gary Yeah when he came so when he went into the outback. As scientists, right everything is black and white. It doesn't exist if you can't prove it to me you Mac out of that out up. Outback totally changed. He knows a lot of gray that you can't explain. He ended up. He had healing abilities. He had the ability to be telepathic to people thought he could see and communicate to the other side of the Vale, and so we describe all that in the secrets of Aboriginal awakening me is really interesting. When he comes back from the outback and realizes he has these healing abilities. And he can communicate to the other side, so he opened me up to the fact that he would. Tell me. What's going on? WHO'S GUARDIAN ANGELS THERE? What they had to say and I really didn't become a wear that I was medium until he died He he was originally given six months to live when he went into the outback, and then he lived for another twelve or fourteen years and. He started showing up every morning at eight o'clock. He's very punctual man. Who Married? A woman who is not right? So, he we do show up at eight o'clock, not eight Oh one and not seven fifty nine, he choke eight except one bring when the time had changed, and he was an hour off, but he started showing up every morning at eight o'clock, and then when I started realizing how to connect to the other side was through. Gary and you stay with me? was like his energy. You could feel it. You can communicate with him. He had this energy pattern of. It's like an eyeball. You could see it. with your eyes closed. It's like. My sister saw the same thing, and I didn't know he was saying the same thing, but it's a very distinctive pattern It's like an eyeball and the whole, and that would show up at eight o'clock, and that any I had seen that before when he was working on me when he was still here when he was alive. I would I be washing my hair in the shower and I'd have my eyes closed and I'd see that I bought and I know Oh. He's Gary's working on me and the other room and so that's how I knew it was him, and then kept showing up, and he kept communicating telepathically, and it just kept growing and growing and growing, and now he's part of my healing team. and he's really opened me up to. Just gifts that I didn't know where their abilities didn't know were there? And we all have a healing team. Like the all have so if you could describe like what's the difference between a spirit guide and a Guardian Angel Spirit guides are they haven't Carnegie? They have been human. Probably several times, and they will come and go depending on what you're doing, and if you need when you need them, but angels have not in Karnataka they can, they can. Briefly take on a physical form of they need to, but they don't need to come to this earth. School. We have There's a distinction between Guardian. Angels and regular angels or archangels and. Everybody, no matter what your belief system has at least one guardian angel, and that Guardian, Angel is by your side from your first breath to your last breath, and then you get somebody different every time because you're you're you're growing, but that Guardian Angel is there to make sure that you are not harmed or killed or injured the if it's not something that your soul intense for you to experience that's why it's called the Guardian Angel and they're there to ensure that the sole desires are carried out in that regard. How comforting to know that there's.

"I think it's a it's it's rock music but I think they directly. Yeah exactly I mean I it. It traces more to like the seventies and rock startup. Like guy like started. You know of like Zeppelin or any of the bands. That were that. Were just up there where you can be an audience member. But they get there and do that. You're just arrested. Yeah they're immortal right exactly. They're rock gods and they dressed the part and and that's fine and they they keep that mystique and that's part of the thing now in what happened very clearly in in thrash and punk was that it was being played almost by the same level. It's like the same age of the audience and the performer. And if not the same age certainly that wearing similar address and the idea is it not above not above the other beyond the other. And it's like if you WANNA to the inspiring thing is. You could get up and do that. That's the idea. If you're an audience member you could do that. Yeah Yeah and they did and they did. So so there's that first wave and remind me who is that. I way you know. Obviously everything stems from exodus. I think I'm not really such a musicologist as much as some other folks. I've said this a lot. I'M GONNA keep saying that. I don't know who the keeper of the Big Four of thrash metal is because it's really should be a big five and that should include excess. I don't know how you keep them out. But whatever some somebody this out too. Big For being Metallica Megadeath slayer anthrax slayer and anthrax right and I think I mean right in. Their exodus record came out bonded by blood. And I just think it's it's seminole record is any of the other things that are came out so And as influential and everything. But you know you sort of in the bay area scene you have a bunch of bands sort of get going and they start up. This is one of the main bands. Metallica comes to town and that kind of adds fuel to the fire because it kind of both doing the same type of thing not long afterwards slayer shows up and they're doing it but faster and along the way they would be happy. I mean one of my favorite quotes in the movie is Gary Holt of course of exodus. And he he. He says screen thing and he goes Egos. The Bay area was the epicenter of thrash metal. And if your own area meaning if you came from some other part of the country a world was not welcoming of you we would be so he say like if you were playing this kind of music someplace else and you couldn't nobody would listen to it and nobody care because stretched music which was pretty often Came to the bay area. You had an audience. We welcomed you and and so. That's that's a pretty bold statement so you had bands like there was a band and I don't really know their music. Well but I know there's a band like exciter and there would be banned from the from the east coast and all these bands from out of town. They could come play. You'd probably be. I just look at the playbill. The flyers that exist. And it's like it's basically like exodus playing with the headliner and yeah come on and open for sure. No problem yeah definitely. Yeah Yeah but that was important so that band was able to come to town and play for a crowd own Enron. Yeah by their issue. It's yeah it's no fun. I played some bills because my ban was decidedly. Not Hair metal. But at the same time we weren't we weren't Thrash E we were doing a funky kind of metal thing and you know we had to play with all those pretty boys and you know and it wasn't fun it was the crowd was like that. That's not what we're looking for until we got to the point where we could start headlining the whiskey in the in the Roxie and that sort of thing and we'd have short crew so it's exactly the same sort of thing But this was a full community in in a space. And so then we have to talk about you. Know like with with with with the other movie of you know in the bunkers. They had Gilman Street. You know the the the thrash meddlers had ruthies right so I you again as a documentarian you make make a choice. I wanted to make a film to play around ninety minutes. I didn't want to make a long film. I also didn't have money to make a log film so I mean if Netflix wants to pay me to make a four hour documentary thrash scene. Yeah call his my number. But it's like I knew it should play like this that it'd be a tight movie to play fast the music itself and it should be something that's just you know that's really about this. This scene so of course there were many clubs that contributed to the national scene. We mentioned a few of them will Bohai Gardens on Broadway of the stone but the one that kept in discussions and also a film comes from a book called murder in the front row with all these photograph. The one that seems to have the most kind of the most kind of paths crossed through. It was these in which was great club in. I guess in Berkeley it. Certainly in the East Bay Berkeley Aloe Avenue and it was like it seemed everybody. Kinda revolved around their the most stories. And so I was just like I really have time to just spend some good time on ruthies. It had the most interesting story to me. The one of the most fascinating parts of it was was the guy who booked himself. He didn't own the club but he booked the club. And he's a man by name of West Robinson and less Was African American. He was a jazz aficionado and he came up listening to jazz and one day in about nineteen eighty three or four books exodus to play in there and then he keeps bucking thrash metal bands to play and he had been booking like jazz and blues in there but he books these bands and he keeps doing it even though it's pretty clear that they raise hell with her in day like you know just two very different than jazz exactly much more two-parent inexpressive question. But I love that this guy. Wes could see in the thrash metal that it was kind of the edge of the envelope and of what music was doing and in some way must have registered with his his understanding of Jazz. That itself was the edge of an envelope on in a different way. Yeah and so he was able to keep doing it now. That provided a very important place for these bands to to grow and of course the stories coming out of ruthies well legendary. So we really. Yeah we that a lot of loving attention in the movie and I think people have enjoyed the ruthie segment a lot. Yeah Yeah not only the ruthies bit but also the fact of big O. Tires Max Dr. Almost the polar opposite of what you what you get with Ruth. See no but that was the place to go and hang out before and after the show and Get Get your head together if you will before at three in to the the mayhem. I just loved see. This is the SO-CALLED BIGGER RETIRES IS THAT BIG O. Tires is a parking while it's a it's a business. It's a tire company across the street from ruthies and everybody would number one. They parked there but also as you said get their heads together. They party a little bit before going into ruthies and and the bands would be right out there in the parking lot. Right along with the with the People because the club is so packed so tight that it was claustrophobic in there and so you couldn't stay in ruthies all day from what I gather. Now here's the thing that's another point where I think people could identify from everywhere because I didn't have a big O. Tires but I sure know a lot of parking lots that we pulled party have failed to people. Remember that leaving lines of of of beer bottles lined up across the parking lot if not broken and just just you know partying and then just taking off and of course everybody on the lookout for the cops they would swing by so I think a lot of people can identify with that. In this case it was big O. Tires yeah and then out out of I think this comes out to ruth easing correct me if I'm wrong but is this really fucking cool story about the scalps. Now that now believe the movie starts off with Kirk looking at the camera and say no fuck in posers. Posers Mush die. That's I gotTa tell you. I didn't put him up to Kirk Hammett when I was rolling here. You you know it clap slate to just to just lineup. He just said wait a minute. I started to pose my first question. He just shut me up but he was like he had something to do So posted the size of quote that comes from the the immortal Paul. Bela Bela by two thousand two. Yeah Yeah Yeah Paul was was the front man of Exodus Kirk himself recruited him founded at a party. Apparently he was the most die-hard heavy metal person you could ever want lived and breathed it and our very own East Bay. LemMe Yeah he was that he was that guy and was a bit of John Belushi thrown into on. Since you know that that that energy and that humor and so he would go on these rants. I mean his stage patter was he gonNA rant about killing posers. And he was by the way the keeper of the quail. I mean he decided who was opposed. Who wasn't and so the famous stories. And it's not told by one person has told the collective memory of this activity was if somebody came into ruthies or anyplace else that Paul was and was wearing what he deemed to be a hair metal t shirt and that has been described again. This is all subjective to Paul Hayloft. It was described as rat crue motley crue. Bali can yeah. It could be warrant. I'm sure that a poison t shirts probably writing all destler and so he would literally literally cut the shirt off the kids back. Take it off. And then he would cut strips out of it. He tied the strips around his wrist. A worm as these war trophies and and there's photograph great photographic evidence in the book and in all the photos of the day of Paul with all strips lining his wrist which had to come from somebody shirt who lost a shirt and he didn't care he would go right up to you and take that thing off and you know. Obviously he was such a forced me. Nobody would challenge them on it. They just be like well okay. It's either that or die one of the two shirt. Yeah you better go get yourself either next to disturb. You're gonNA shirt that night so anyway it was pretty it. Just I love that story. Because it just kinda attested to how you know how energetic and rough the sea could be but you know what on the other hand. I mean now by qualifies bullying on the other hand. I never had rather that he owned blood involved right. Yeah he never really. I never heard that he'd be intimidated people short but he never there was never full on where he like. Beat somebody down. Now as I watched that movie turned around. I mean does seem like there was more of that. Violence happened in the in. The scene in the scene in the punk scene was in on the punk scene in the violence there was from agitators. The agitators guy like the skinheads these kids having to defend themselves than anything else and now in the La punk scene the hardcore scene Yeah the the violence was sometimes internal in short. I remember was a part of that as well. So but but very different up here. in fact it's it's in a in a weird sort of way. The East Bay punk scene is very young scene. It's it's you know it's it's actually gravitating towards a real teenagers and things like that whereas the thrash metal scene you know pretty much. Everybody's in their twenties here so you know the other thing that we have to talk about is the fact that you know how metallica gets out. Here METALLICA is really really formed in San Francisco as opposed to L. A. While James and lars come together in La. It's really cliff. Burton that forces the issue and says Nah. I ain't gonNA fuck and go to La if you want me you gotta come up here right so I mean that's that's an incredible part of the stories cliff and this is just well known entail cluster The Great Bass player before Metallica. Use it a trauma using a couple of local bands. Actually and from everybody's talk talking about it. He was clearly the standout guy I mean he was. You just knew that. Like wow that guy. So most sons in abandoned watching the race plays Fill Line. Or somebody you know or or squires these big names right right and in this case you're watching the Bass flair and he's not singing and it's like so you know he he you know laws in James sculpt him out they were like he should be in our band. I think he pretty much outgrown trauma and.

"Although smart he's witty and and and Certainly has lived the life and so that was that was a thrill to do one of their book before. Did raising hell just to give you. The full history was a book on agnostic. Front's Frontman Roger Merete. Who You know was a big part of the hardcore scene in New York and helped nurture it and develop it and really was one of the kingpins of there's a recent documentary done on On the band called Godfathers of hardcore which was on showtime and which is been really well received. My book came out shortly before that But it was clear that they had a good following. Having Been Pioneers of of hardcore and Roger just open it opened up and and you know told me all about his abusive childhood and and his years selling cocaine to try to keep the band afloat and his time in jail having been caught dealing cocaine and what it was like to be behind bars for eighteen months. Really tense stuff you know. Kinda like Art Is the new black type. You know material There are a few others that fit in that cat categorized Wayne Kramer from the MC five a similar story. You know. It's not a unique situation but I you know and that is i. Think a threat in the in the new book as well in that You know These guys have a persona of being incredibly dangerous and on the edge and you know not totally like that no no but but a lot of them have lived that kid in a candy store kind of experience. And that's what I wanted to get across with the new grazing. Hell I had already done a history of metal book and my favorite parts. Were kind of crazy story so I thought what if I did it? Book just on all these wild stories things because through the years. I've just heard so much stuff and I thought if I cherry picked a bunch of guys who I knew had those stories and had lived Wilde's You know indulgent lives and lived to tell about it and we're willing to tell about it that I could really have an interesting book here. Yeah and It it it worked out I was able to get marquee names You know guys like Corey Taylor from slipknot. E Snyder from from twisted sister of course Gary Holt of exodus and slayer and he. He actually wrote the forward to the book which I was. Very very grateful and flattered about So you know it. David Draymond from disturbed so there are some really big names. But then I also wanted to tap into some guy's all the way you know reaching from the top and going down to the scale and the scale So you know. This is an awful lot of people from the thrash era of metal who have really interesting stories to tell like the death. Angel guys You know they're doing pretty pretty well. Now they've maintained a career through decades but they were right there on the ground floor as teenagers when Metallica were becoming rockstars and they were pals and San Francisco seem. Yeah TALLEC has little brothers. So they were taken to these these wild parties after shows it ruthies and They were able to regale me with with stories of things that metallic talk about any more Like You know at one point. They were at this party and James Hatfield and the singer of exodus. Paul bail were were just all about destruction so they smash someone's pinball table Game you know the glass and I guess started trashing the rest of the house in your house. It all sucks. It's horrible thing but a lot of that did go on. Destruction was par. For the course with the excess. And Indulgence of metal and guys trash tells and trash their own bosses and dressing rooms and it's all. It's all part of the rock-n-roll mythology that really just dates back to the days. Who in Mon even before at the original Jerry Lee Lewis know in a in a gun? I'll get you some right there You Know Chuck Berry and You know in a teenager. I'll get you another chapter. So yeah I anti starts very early and just continues all through the The age of rock and roll and metal's always been about excess indulgence so Allow these guys were were cool with talking about these things especially the ones who had been there and done that and now had families and and You know kids in. They were clean and sober. And in many cases eating wants talk about their wild sexual romps but they were okay talking about their drug days and days of destruction. Some now that we're in the METOO moment Nobody moment we. Nobody was talking about their experience but asked me all about the drugs. Since most of that's leaking there is you know. Despite the metoo movement some guys did really open up In very graphic detail and I think they did so because whatever they engaged in was with. Full consensus consensual. Yeah Oh you know. I've been a musician my whole life in my early days. I got to experience some wild and crazy times and it was always more than consensual. I can in fact if anybody was the Trying to stop it would be more me than than than the other side I wrote about it so this is not your first metal Rodeo. You've you know you've you've been working on this for a long time but before I ask another question I want. I want to just get one more thing about you. What what's the first band that you discovered on your own metal band or no in general just you the first you know piece of music like you know like I. I have I had aunts and uncles and brothers. Who who like I got the hand me downs and you know the Beatles and I knew who the stones were an American things like that. But there's a very particular ban that I know that I found on my own and this was my first ban in and everything Builds from there so what was yours. Oh okay well You know my I inherited my parents. Classical music collection developed an appreciation for Bach. Beethoven Tchaikovsky. And you know all kinds of good fundamental fast. The music romantic so from also. Especially if you're going to fall into the metal world which you know probably hearkens to the classical sense is yeah but you know I was. I was seven or eight or nine in it wasn't I hadn't hit that rebellious stage yet. and then. I had a friend in school. Danny Papkin who consequently many years later started a band called candy machine. I believe out of Baltimore but He was he was a really really a nice kid. Six grade I think And he was a a music fanatic so he he exposed me to to to springsteen and the WHO Bunch of different things and Zeppelin. Of course and what? I what I heard and loved was distorted guitar but I didn't know what it was. I couldn't tell from a Beatles Song like My Guitar gently weeps to you. Know the WHO's my generation. What was that buzzing sound? So He who he played guitar is like. That's distortion distortion cool. I got to hear more. Okay and what's what's what's it when these guys like. Make these noises in. It's not a full guitar sound. But it's more like a bunch of little notes that follow each other. Oh that's a guitar solo so really I was. You know I was in the one a one level of of Discovering rock and roll and and he was the first to to push me in the direction of of that but the WHO is my first real real there we go and and I think they. They planted a lot of the roots of the Debauchery decay anger and Energy that did ended up a destruction. Certainly but that became a big part of what metal was in. It is So they're one of the first bands I can really think of it was it was explosive like that and I saw the Tommy movie when I was twelve. Maybe and blew my mind with all these psychedelic scenes and Clapton was in it. And you had Roger daltry playing the deaf dumb and blind kid So yeah I had a really special spot from for the WHO that was. When I started putting up pictures of my locker you know from there just spread cheap trick was my next love and member going to a head shop in Bethesda Maryland where I lived and not knowing what the bonds were or or you know marijuana pipes but knowing the dudes in the back of the store showed the movies on a big screen of of rock and roll gigs. I WanNa Know Me and my mother twelve year old friend as a kid named Danny CROC We went back there and we requested artists. And it. You guys have anything by Kiss Sure we'll put on a kiss video for this before. Mtc So You know we were able to to seek cheap trick on stage and cars and WHO and and it was all you know a big part of my my my formative years. I'd say the first metal band that really hit me with something. My cousin introduced me to cause I been listening to all his all this music and kiss Zeppelin and even had been exposed to rush but My first cousin goes At there at the House of Might my cousins in Rockland New New York and sitting by the Pool. Geigo pulls out his boombox he says. Hey you wanna hear something crazy and got her always have something crazy. Like how your brain did he hit the play button and it would. I hear these motorcycles revving. These guitars start chugging. Like sounds pretty pretty interesting it was Judas priest. Hell bent for leather title track from that album and I had never been exposed to that kind of metal light her a little bit black Sabbath mostly I was still in the kind of ACDC A led Zeppelin World Aerosmith. And this was a cut above the guitars. Were razor sharp vocals or screamed and everything was just repulsive in ferocious and I lost my mind I just I. This is my band. I have to discover this. I've been nobody knows who these guys are. Of course it became one of the biggest bands in metal still are for good reason But yeah that was a long winded answer. But that was I spent I totally latched into from the from the WHO Into cheap trick little side John. A little side tracks and then to Judas priest right right but There are a big part of the you know Evolution metal because really before them had black Sabbath which would the definitive footprint the stomping boot in the cement but they even had their influences. They were heavily influenced by cheer and Corinne Eminent People like Bait right and and and Hendrix but then on the other side in states you know you had blue cheer MC five the stooges and they were also generating this this loud. Almost pro metal is what I like to call it Alice Cooper but then Yeah Black. Sabbath put down the talent boot and from then on it was All the devils well I. I think it's fair that we begin with Black Sabbath and And their most famous bad boy Since all metal begins with the boys for Manchester To me it seems like the craziness within that particular ban is all about Ozzy and less so about Tony Geezer.

"Go check it out now. It'd have you ever done any Improv. At all yeah. It's so much fun. There's times when win. That's like there's there's even a part of my show I think I think I may have done it at the show that you saw where I go to. I go to the audience. It's before I tell the joke about how my wife and I met where I pick out a couple that say. Hey how'd you guys meet right. And then I I I listen to them. That's that's some of the most fun to me. 'cause I've had the easiest stories and you just have to roll with it. I don't know what the story was the night that you saw me. But give me some good ones the homa. Oh my God. There's been stories where people have cheated on each other like like. Oh I met him when I was married to my first husband or whatever and yeah there there was one time where it was a Dr Care Doctor. Patient Situation There was There was one. Oh one time I had to correct the guy because he was literally about to indict himself because he said I was a teacher she was my student and I was like over eighteen rights. And he's like yeah. Yeah yeah over. Eighteen okay. Guy was about to crime. Ah in the middle of a comedy club. No one's filming that one exactly so. Yeah we've had some weird ones But that's always fun for me because you never know you. You never know the answer in terms of how couples get together very very rarely. Is it just well. We ran a bar. She was cute. I walked in very rarely So it's always a wife I met my wife on On or I'll tell the whole story you say she's one of us. Yeah Yeah Yeah I'm at my wife. I I was working in San Francisco. California I was on a radio show there. I was burned Out from the road I decided to take a little bit of time off. Comedy decided to Do a morning radio show so we do a morning show. I had moved San Francisco to do it. I I decided 'cause I know anyone in San Francisco I know friends. I WanNa make friends so we played this game on the radio. Show called tinder or grinder everyday a flip a coin basement Lansana going either tinder date or grinder date and for those. You don't know grinders gates ender and So you would have to go on the date. Yeah added going. That's the rule. I'm what you call go-getter my friend. Okay so a day one flip. The coin lands on grindr wealth. I gotTa do this and so I mean we make a profile very quickly match up with a very tall bearded red headed man. Who tells me only to call him ginger beer? He's like that's my name. My name is ginger beer. You referred to me only as ginger bear and I'm like I cool ginger beer. You just met Gummy bear. Let's do this. Yeah so we go on and I told him I told him radio bit him out straight okay. She told this work in the porn. I feel horrible right so I and he's like yeah. Let's just go hang out and we went out. We had a great time went sports bar. We're watching a game. We're just like laughing like I'm a imagine just hanging out with your boys and it's like the best night ever then every now and then your guy but he just looks and goes you know you look really good tonight like that's what it was like. Oh well thank you appreciate that right you know and it was a great time. Then this is the fact that I'm still friends with ginger beer to this day. Nice the next day. I'M GONNA go on the radio and talk about the day. We get a call all from a listener. Who Says Yeah you guys do in Tinder Grinder? You should hop on this other APP for the game it's called three-under and I'm like good. Surrender surrendered he goes. Oh that's tender for people trying to have threesomes that's the thing that's the thing I know. He got married way to quit my friend thriller. That's right now. Everyone's anyone's listening to podcasts. Their car guys like slamming on his brakes. Download this doing yet. Well here's a you know I'm not lying. It's not called threatened or any more tender sued them for copper infrigement Bridgman now. It's called Field F. E. L. D.. You're welcome This is a real APP. I went on that one matched up with two women rolling on a date together. Her one of the women did not show up for whatever reason when on date would just the other one and the other one I married two and a half years later. Why so that kind of opens the door to you know she loves women? I Love Women's although we have in common is great and she's also a AH tall. Yes go We we like to call you. People researchers she's a richer So so yeah I've done. I've done very well for myself. He's breached the field Subject Yeah there's there's been breached there there's been some there's been some region. Yeah now I it's like I said she loves women. Love women it but it's something we don't do it all the time. We're not like every day every week every month but every now and then my birthday Hey We got another nature yes bringing another reach and it just the reach and know that you're a little person. Well hopefully now because my wife is in charge of she makes the decision right terms of like hoosier and The but we the the person who's always well aware there there has never been a situation where wife comes home through the front door. Like Hey got you surprise is and all of a sudden woman goes well. We did not agree to that that that no that's weird you gotta be really Kinky. That'd be doing the three some and the little. Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah. That's a whole that's a whole new level man but So Yeah we've we've done that a few times and for anyone out there. That's why I want to try that with my partner. I say great wonderful but constant communication during Han during before checking in. What's okay what's not? Okay God Roger What what. What are rules here? Constant communication. There was literally a time when we had My wife and I went out. We met this. The great woman was down. It was all about it. We got back to our front door at the front door. My my wife's kind of looks me goes. I don't want to tell are you this. I'm just not feeling it. I'm not feeling and I went okay. I stopped when I'm thank you. I'm sorry not night if you WANNA come in and have a cup the coffee or a drink. Ginger beer ginger beer. He's locked in the dungeon downstairs. Full Pulp Fiction style blog. Yeah Yeah Yeah. But that's not happening tonight and the fact that I was able to do that means that in the future Wife and I are good. They're no one one incident. no-one act is going to be worth making the whole marriage crumble. So no I I I would say very communicative be very A and B. Very Open with what. You are comfortable with that that that is my tip for anyone who's thinking about doing that. He's also got another tip for you now. That would be the perfect spot for this podcast break and for you to go like oh well speaking of three ways group coming over or you WanNa feed them all Omaha steaks and if you feel a little sore afterwards. GDP Yoga. That's my favorite part about this podcast. And and I'm a fan of this podcast Jericho so is is when you break and Now and you go on the ranch and then you go into go right and the ad the the Omaha stay there legendary. What the best part was I always a little change in the audio like it's like yeah because I had a three so anyways broad now that we're talking about your three away but yeah I'd almost steak was on the Moxie podcast? which did this ridiculous number? And now everyone talked Omar steaks. I said those almost thanks guys vejle you do only because they got more than those monies on this one because it was something he was talking about like a drama or something that he endured in your life for trauma. Uh thanks that's right. It was the best transition as funny when you were talking. I was a friend of mine. Gary Holt he plays for slayer now he he loves slash hates these little women of Atlanta. Oh Yeah I had to look it up to see what it was called us when I was doing. It wasn't being rude but okay. What do you think those type type of shows? Oh Man Well first of all there's To cast members of the little women shows that I've actually dated really back in the day. So how many of them is there. I think there's three there's little women. La Little Women New York women Atlanta. You made a little bit of two so And I don't i. I shouldn't say the CAST members they're not consenting to for that information. ICS take a guess. Yeah but DM ME on twitter. I'll tell you yes so but those shows you know what here's how I view it. It wouldn't be necessarily something that I would do that I would wish A very close friend of mine to do but my thing is is you reach or having their fun being trashy on Reality Television Oh vision. I consider US equals. We should have the opportunity to be trashy on reality television to it's fine. It's like like I've been a big proponent of I think they should do little person. UFC fights like I think they should. Because I know some friends. They're trained like they're like they're like they're black belts in in Jujitsu like they're legit really good martial artists and I would love to have our own division. I said that once I'm GonNa Radio Show and someone called in was like that's exploitive. I'm like no it's not. It's not well you're not gonNA have like a dwarf fight Conor McGregor. You know like that that would be exploitive. That'd that'd be horrible give us their own division and who decides whether it's exploited or not. Yeah I'm glad you mentioned that because it made me think of something else I want to ask you about it released to youth hockey and it's ridiculous. I'll tell you about that but I wanted to talk about something else. That's super important for everybody listening right now. The state of your mental health and wellbeing mind and body. It's all connected and both need. It'd be in the best shape possible and I know that therapy can be expensive and inconvenient and even if you're able to afford to squeeze a weekly session in once a week it's not always enough so limited do well thankfully there's talk space the online talk therapy platform..

"An American thing and also very British thing in America why why so popular like dimension Belgium USA Egypt like what is it about your sound that that translates to a European audience Audience well the funny thing the best compliment I ever got you laugh at. This is a guy comes up to me and he goes jared when that who you play. It's like eagles fly. Fly Out of your speakers and I was like what I think that first off. I really truly believe that Guitar Rock and Roll Blues Rock. This this whole thing that we love is timeless. Yeah I really do believe that I you know no matter how many times you and I sit in the bus listening to stuff. It's timeless man and I feel like the rest of the world. They have such an appreciation for it. You know in in America I feel like they got jaded real quick especially with blues rock stuff because it was like yeah you go to any club in the south. There's some guy playing pride enjoy or Texas but I think that over there there's more of an appreciation for all arts and the thing that I noticed especially is rock and roll and guitar to to them. It is as fresh as anything and they love it now. I don't know exactly why but they love it here. I am in Cairo Dubai in in Cairo. We had like it was just me showing my guitar amp doing a jam with like a local musicians. There are five hundred people. Wow they showed up. Because Arro- There was an American Blues Rock Guitar Player. There I think a lot of these places to they they just start you know. No one goes there sometimes. So it's like when this stuff. Conserve is a big deal. But but like you said it's universally translates like if you're at a party I always say this and you have black dudes white dudes hot chicks young Jake's old shakes whoever if you took a cross section and you were trying to figure out what music on if you put on. ACDC YEP everyone would be into it it works. You know if you went to Vegas Pool of the encore pool with other players that Rave Shit you put us to DC on people just much fun because that translates it's just forty four Blues Yup rock and roll and the more I play in the more travel and you know jamming with like like you guys like most people would think to themselves. You Know Fosse me opening for fuzzy like how does that work. And I'm like it's amazing because Fosse fans totally get it right they get get it because it's not so cut and dry anymore. It's like yeah you know what I'm trying to say it's like you said it's a party sound but it's great guitar. Great like your voices. This is killer. WHO's talking to Gary Holt? Oh Yeah he's big fairy scary guy freight and we were just talking to the combination of Stevie Ray Anzac with vocals of Doug Panic from king that you really have that soul voice tune in the U.. Funny because you said like when someone asks you if you saying. Is there a little bit like yeah. You have to sing. If you're a blues man. That was the thing to when when I started the trio. You know where I was like I want to be in a trio. Oh it's like why Klatten Jimmy all you're going to rush. All great bands are and then they go well. Who's going to hanging on my? I have to say I have to be the same. If you didn't know and I think also another thing is like it's just so great for me to be able to travel and tour with you guys and just keep pushing forward you know. Yeah because like when I meet people it's not as if they look at us or look at me like I'm trying to be someone from the seventies or something you know it's like we're trying to just do it right now. It's like like I said there's a timeless element to all this stuff and I'm just happy to be out planet did you When you talk about plane with Skinner D- Did you get a chance to talk to Gary and Ricky? Oh Yeah Dude. Gary's daughters on tour with him right so being no just and she goes. My Dad won't stop watching your videos in the bus. That's where over there and I'm like really and then I see him as like you did this one thing man and I'm thinking to myself self. I've been in situations like that where it's like heroes genuine heroes. And I'm sitting there showing Gary Rausing ten. How I played this lick and you're like nick? Is this real life. Yeah I've that's another thing that has genuinely blow my mind even for me sitting here with you as a young budding wrestling Fan Fan Dune that was my era dude. That's cool man. Yeah I'm just saying like I get to meet and see and be around all these people that have respected my whole life or heroes Chiwetel Josue just gave you a call the other day. Yeah Love them hate them. Whatever you guys want I love him? So yes Ted nugent. I wake up on the the bus the other morning and I about six text messages and said Hey man I just gave ten New Jersey number my manager ten new Jones calling you and then go to miss calls from an unknown number. Whatever you know and I'm like what is? I'm just trying to wake up and wrap my head around what is happening. The did nugent detail edn Edward Nugent. Bill collected exactly. The heart is is when we play. When we're on tour? Everyone comes me. has anyone whenever told you. You look like Ted nugent. No never heard it in one thousand nine hundred seventy eight exactly and it's funny because I've been compared to Ted every day since I've been playing and it's awesome. It even went to the point. Where like touring Zach like? We would do strangleholds entirety just just to be like. Yeah yeah so the other day. We're in San Diego. You guys are checking and I get a call unknown number. Hello I'm looking for jared James Nichols this is uncle Ted just like holy Frat and he goes I just want to salute you for waving the rock and roll flag for everyone goes all of us that have been there. Who are there who are going to be there when we talked for like an hour? That's great it was awesome and he was so cool and like he's like I'm sitting here right now with my Gibson Bird land and and I just kept thinking to myself herself man. Some of these moments like money can't buy you know like like these are things. I'll remember forever. Yeah like when I was at that studio in Hollywood were jamming in there one night low behold the door opens and it was late at night and I hear who the hell are you and I was like who is that Steven Tyler and he goes. Hey Man we're jammies talking whatever. And and he goes eight. We're making a record in the back. Should come hang out. I hung out with Aerosmith for like three three months. You know Joe Perry and they would respect you deserve blues bands. Yeah and that's the thing. That's the common thread. I feel like between all of us. This is first off the love of the music and then the you know the respect that we're still here today like just kicking so you're hanging on for three months. Aerosmith was there must be some stories all the stories. Well the best part for me was I had like zero money so stephen would just say yeah come to the studio man. The Studio B Open at like eleven thirty in the morning till about three at night I go there all day and eat and hang out and I was like a fly on the wall. Watch literally watching to make the record. That was a music from another dimension and Stories Yeah Stephen Chicken my butt on vocals and you know Oh sing like the Senate like that you know and You know sitting there with Joe Perry and and then having Joe Loan me guitars. I'd have any guitar all of a sudden play this one old les Paul stuff like that and then flash forward meeting one JOE SON's Tony and he's right around my I age and we made the my last record at Johnny Depp's House. No kidding through the whole connection. You know it's like this whole it's like I can literally go back and be like yeah that moment when I met him. You know we sparked a friendship and that took us here that you know and I just feel like none of this would have happened if I wouldn't enough gotten in that car from Wisconsin. Yeah well that's the truth right. It's probably like something. I left my house in. Winnipeg drive to Calgary for school at Nineteen socked. Like I know he leave your friends your family behind. And no in Calgary first day you meet a bunch of you know miscreants that are in this wrestling camp and you're on your own kid. Yeah the world doesn't oh you a damn thing that's right if you WANNA go and make this happen. You gotta take a chance and I think that Everyone always you know because like you said there's a buzz now right. I think it's funny because a lot of people I meet now that are really respected or like that. I really look up to. They're like they're just trying to wrap their head around like so what's up. What's your what's this guy's deal you know? And it's like the deal is just taking every two or every chance every opportunity in really just leaving the whatever the Cisco School twos and I'm saying this from being with you for weeks on end your de legitimize guy very charismatic. And you just happy happy to be there. which have you know so happy to be in twenty? Nineteen rolling down the road and tour bus with Chris. Jericho and Bazi kick ass every night. Yeah to me like this is priceless. Like like we've talked about this too but like at the end of the day. This is a much like it's not a money. It's none of that. This is this is for the love of. What were you enjoy what you do and you're good at it and you're doing it for the reasons you'll make the money that that will come up? You know it's already coming but if you do it for the money it never goes that way one hundred percent and you know we we talk about it all the time but all the guys that we look up to you now. It's like I am just so happy like I said it'd be playing blues rock and roll into the Kickin ass on guitar every single night around the world. He toured with a couple of new wave. British heavy metal legends UFO and of course our old friends and Saxon we love biff talks jerk alumni. Let's talk about those experiences. But I wanNA talk about all the great experiences I've had with Diamond Dallas page and his DD py program DP and the D. p. y.. And changing lives for years. You know what they did for me and my back. So I'm still in the ring. At the highest levels was able to beat Tana Hashi Selena fourteen over the weekend had one of the best matches on the show. And it's why I'm going to be doing three sets with ause e and the Chris Jericho Rock and wrestling ranger at sea Z.. Part during a couple of weeks big rehearsals in Atlanta. Next week deep you can do the same thing for you get you on the path to healthier living and keep you there alleviate any chronic pains chains are soreness..

There's there's even a part of my show I I think I may have done it at the show that you saw where I go. I go to the audience. And it's before I'd tell the joke about my wife and I met where I got got a couple and they'd say hey. How'd you guys meet right? And then I I listen to them that some of the most fun to me. 'cause I've had the ways easiest stories and you just have to roll with it. I don't know what the story was the night that you saw me. But give me some good ones the home at God. There's been stories where people have cheated on each other like like the like. Oh I met him when I was married to my first husband or whatever and you're like okay there There was one time where it was a Dr Caregiver Doctor Patient Situation There was There was one time I had to correct the guy because he he was literally about to indict himself because he said I was a teacher she was my student and I was like over eighteen rights. And he's like yeah. Yeah yeah over eighteen okay like this guy was about to crime in the middle of comedy closely. No one's filming that one exactly exactly so. Yeah we've had some weird ones but that's always fun for me because you never know you never know the answer and terms of how couples get together very very rarely really is it. Just well we barbecued. I walked very rarely. So it's always a great wife I met my wife on on On or I'll tell the whole story you say she's one of US CA So how I met my wife I. "So Nicole. Yeah you feels like a very obvious because look luke is very much you'll type two eighteen. Absolutely look he is the kind of man that I was raised around the the wiry slick mouth You know very dry wit no dry witted. I guess I as you say Black man who is kind of slight own. He's physically physically slight yes But you can also tell that that he is a powerhouse that he has the he is someone that you should not underestimate just because he does not wait two hundred and fifty talents or whatever right so I look at him at is see like my teenage years. My College Years IC- familiarity is e home even though he's not southern he was raised in California But I see I see everything. Good sounds like you'll taking a nostalgic walk down historical thirst lane. Yes and what you find. There is warming your hearts. Yes amongst angst of the thing. Yes he reminds me of Andre. Three thousand you now like the builds the humor the kind of yeah kind of quiet but don't fuck with me kind of thing and there's also also is a little weird and not not a bad way but just like someone who clearly thinks differently than a lot of people and You know for some people. That's they don't want that that's that's too much. Yeah I mean I'll go a step further and and say he's more than a little weird I think. He's quite and very weird. Yeah I think about a tweet that I saw from our friends station L. Brown Who Walls Wall's kind of destroying to describe the very specific earlier of low Keith? And I thought he kind of nailed it perfectly. She said La- Keith. Stanfield is so so many people and each one is thoroughly convincing And I found that to be so simple and yet so eloquent about the many thinks he's done. You mentioned that he had this formidable career already here and if you go and look at his filmography and you think what he was in that what he was in that way he was in that. It's it's a constant feeling of my core has played like station says so many people each one is thoroughly convinced she went on to say. I know you're going to say Yeah that's acting eighteen. But there's something more than that he kinda transcends it. It's not just about his acting. Yeah it's about how he embodies. Yeah I find that we see that that The way the he takes control of the role in shifted away from parody in the show Atlanta which he stars in as has Darius and he's kind of this donor weird guy rights and instead of it? Just being. You know a complete like a Seth Seth Rogan Stone or person or something like that are whatever he makes something you still pay attention to him. You don't dismiss what he's saying and and that I see that particularly in episode Teddy Perkins which is the Yes you could say. The Michael Jackson episode where Darius Goals He's going to pick up a piano and he ends up in this House with this aging Former star Who has you know gone through some some some stuff in his life and so it's kind of it's Darius as episode? I think this is the first episode. Where Darius is the focus and we see the dairy is like we get hints hints of it throughout the series are already but we see that dairy is actually a very caring empathetic compassionate person and when he saying these as little quick donor things he saying stuff like I don't believe in time and whatever whatever stuff like weird stuff like that what he's trying to get at is just we're all here together? And how can I help you like. He's really trying to help out help people around him however he can and so if you haven't seen Atlanta which number one you should should because it's really interesting unusual good show But you also should watch Teddy Perkins. Because you get to see La- Keith. Really we settle into his character and make dairies. A full fully realized person right. Yeah it's just watching being him is His kind mesmerizing. He is mesmerizing. is a really good way to kind of push it. And there's a bit that I wanNA play. where he you get like the full force host of his charm and again you were saying about how he kind of he has his little stonier `ISMs But then this is. This is a full blown conversation. Shen between him and paper boy and they are talking. It's a very meandering conversation. But the core of it is Darius is OUGHTA grounded nece like he's asking these questions that make you ask the question to like Ha. I guess and that's what he does. He's a very generous performer. He's he's at the same time as the audience is Avatar hi. He's also kind of forcing US putting us to kind of with just with his face just washed. He's doing a lot of acting. Besides the words coming out and I really love the scene is is. Let's play Quick Don Spooky. Good Night Daddy. Already Nick Gone Daddy. Yes that's where man is it. Where when your girl call you on a completely different I guess yes it is I would about poppy? I know you ain't got no problem will pop and poppy. That's like cultural because it's been is now all of a sudden. They should always be metaphor bids. Call Me Daddy Mass. I'm wrong happen. We'll tell you know you're not going to see this but you assume perversion word Daddy. I think that's fear mortality. Talk would you call your gun art. Show good well listen. He's actually doing a little mini Thursday's episode in that clip. Because you're saying hey listen say something Spanish. Ah Okay. That's a little fantasy to paper boy and I just I just really liked the way. He's so confident and calm like he just he offers these little witticisms like listen. I've been thinking about this. A good amount. Allow me to present my thesis. I find it so a very funny but also I'm so drawn to a confident man and who's just like yeah what he's saying by most standards it's kind of like That's where he knows what he's talking about. He's cleared it with himself. Yes and that makes me. It makes me Kinda go Maybe what you're saying doesn't make sense kind of like night doesn't look Keith is familiar yes so many black people know him I wrote a piece a couple years ago about the widow of black comedy or black culture. And you know it was kind of looking at people like Charlie on on blackish. Oh yeah who would just a little bit odd. Yeah part of the reason why I think we love these tropes characters. "With Zach cranky about looking for the sweep of Tampa Bay we had to the fourth cardinals one nothing lead on the bright brave back out to bush stadium one side Rick suck live once again here's at me thanks so much Gregg just a pedestrian fifteen strikeouts from Gary Holt back up just in Berlin brigade to about that now you can do with that great speed about go Seigen word one yeah you're right you're you and I were talking about this a week ago you know it it it might be if you're gonna do it this feels like they do it one hundred saying that even for free to baseball now the crowd buzzing people in radio listeners right now but we wonder what's going on there it was the kiss cam here's Ozzie L. these the Lee big stopper at Lana first paid swinging any laces one into center field for a base hit Leon strike from all these and use it in with a single is second here the divisions here you had to figure that the bridge we're going to make an investment they're hitting coach Kevin sites isn't looking the store a lot more fastballs that he has then we predicted all of a sudden now he's up there looking for a fastball he got it he looks to have the office for the winter break started here with Freddie Freeman coming up and going through a tough part of the order how bees than Freeman and then Donaldson for cake is to follow one nothing cardinals top of the fourth one at first nobody out I'll be still fifty basis during the regular season righty and lefty the pitch Freeman late swinging and missing a fastball nothing in one grounded out to second his first time on rooms were not only worried about junior it is here but they were worried about the right elbow Freddie Freeman the bone spur he's had since high school he told us is the one balls in the dirt smothered by Molina one of a kind of a funny story to is is that Fred was talking to us about him being a pitcher in high school how Lana teamviewer drafted has a pitcher so don't bother because I'm not gonna pitch anymore yes high schools with I don't want to I want to play every day for the brief drafting and second rounds told you because I'm not going to pitch is that we don't want to is the one one bouncing ball of the line first file is twenty two one Freddie Freeman this is the year in year out rapid on a high school in two thousand seven his parents are from Canada as well as a dual citizen it is high school ball how did California only two strikes on Freeman I'm still playing deep understandably so against the power hitter when right sensible one to fall in the dirt stop by my leader again and go to it Freddie was talking about how important his dad was in his career going up his Daddy picking up after school he lost his mom rose merry when he was just ten years old that said you had to play both of those role for the pick him up after school to go right to the baseball field if you start out with what he called his base and that means that every ball he had to be less you he still has that bass swing today two since a fly ball to left field Ozuna back in front of the warning track stocks reaches up makes the catch back to first base those are the albums there there's one down here the top apple nothing cardinals on top and that'll bring up just on I said Freddie explain me what your base wings about he goes well I'm Michael for to put a movie to strike out two or three times if I didn't have that the swing I'm I struck out like five or six times really talked about local you junior he says once he figures out of the swing and he goes and he will he goes just wait to see the numbers that he puts a most people believe it could use the next phase of the sport he's a town sure it's the first in all these is back in service I don't know if there's a tougher combinations with a right handed pitcher on the mound to run on this one here yep not a year younger Molina throw to second base to get a clue junior in game one was one of the quickest throws from gloves submit and second of his career Mister Donaldson at the knees for called strike nothing one bigger so one six nine pop time yeah the best he's ever it was a break a bone yeah it wasn't like a fast ball wasn't like a picture the only two teams it had better numbers and shutting down the running game this year than Saint Louis where the Phillies and the Diamondbacks they got GT real boots on Philadelphia person tally in Arizona former cardinal prospect toss the personal business back in sequence leaders doing this at thirty seven nine time gold lover looks like he's gonna make that ten all of them all of the easily a hall of Famer and we talked about it when it's all said and done nobody's and where that number for the Saint Louis cardinals ever again we write the stretch the one ball popped up coffee in the back third base side behind home plate Molina navigating over towards the netting and he runs out of room once again to a little shot coming out of that padding but I've always over the netting anyway file nothing into the count on Donald we know it's not coming out of the game you know you got it will lead as the play tomorrow but he hit the loom whatever the the the little lives it's over there get that awful hard like in the five he was coming at full speed thought he had a chance and then just immediately got stopped by the order of that live back behind the plate ready to go live from the sides stew is better in picture Adam Wainwright one nothing cardinals topical for one on one out lady on lady deal to Donald very close breaking ball light at the knees on the outer edge Malina held the glove there for Sam Holbrook who is you said it's a smaller zone did not find and it's one X. two a lot of times we don't really worry about to try to get off the back and getting on this one we think about the power of the judge Johnson has in a game like this right now as a pitcher you said I got to have a thirty seven homers in the regular season the pitch breaking ball number back towards the motorway like loves it slowly rose to first base in time some down all these moves over the story position Adam Wainwright the two time gold lover defends his position as well as any pitcher in the game but now there's a runner in scoring position and he got the call right it would be a different scenario would come back to order with the ability to put the ball in play of the market is very easily could because out to left his first time up Braves over to with runners in scoring position in this game that was after the Swanson double Soroka anticolonial retired there too for eighteen in this series of waters exploring Malina is gonna go on have a chat with Wayne right put his right hand on the small of weed rights back as he deliver some words to all the rest of the infield since Goldschmidt will join the conversation one of the cardinals here before for me what they're doing right now is to change the signs because they know that would this be that the double they know we got a long look at the sequence that they use there I don't care what people say I mean they've got film on all of that they've got one of their nerds back in the back that is looked at whether it's second sign with the band on second whether you know it's it's first sign indicator whatever might be there already figured that out and that it already got the best were anybody at second base you know what to look for well you know what now you don't know what to look for because of that mountain the nerds obviously in a what is likely to we've got more nerds in any but absolutely heather Moser to go pretty good it it's it's with respect absolutely these are guys that can get on a computer and then twenty seconds give you all the information you need what are its second from our take is the page you might start tomorrow for the strike at the top of his own nothing in one take his thirty five years of age all star for the first time in twenty eighteen for ten in the series so far real turn Brady radio left the way right looks at second now comes a little one prove ball back towards a dislike of the outside corner nothing into and since the end another raid slant Leon single who will be season second with two down one please in short right field leroy said about zero to pitch we have stairs leading on across the spirit wanted to the postseason ERA for Adam Wainwright at home was one point seven two this game started that was the third lowest in the history since the wild card error with the minimum thirty innings the other two before she with over the top of the list in this is Matt he was a part of three World Series championship the giants won Super win right check swing a curve appealed on a third and hit Cox's knows swing and more cake is still alive this will be our a not too bad either overall postseason ERA just a shade above three in twenty four appearances twelve then starts rambling rates career reasonable soon need to be Sears in off the first base side as he considered the bill the bulls and two strikes the bridge the more tickets symbol of the lighted first found Susan soon sued the cardinals leading one nothing here before of those fourteen wins partners talked about for Wayne right this year nine and came right here at home two and a half where he was at his best was is where he's at right now big game he was six and one with any or a just over one and a half standing month of September close soon one of his best seasons in half a decade working with a one nothing lead in the forth with a runner at second into our please to to put some more tickets try that back to approval Mr outside one school the band here for market is seven it's coming the man who is on deck to we can reach please offline a third the young behind the runner at second ball lifted in the air to center field Fowler backpedaling towards the warning track on the dirt reaches out makes the catch touches the wall the inning is over second straightening the brazen left the band in scoring position we head to the bottom half of for fitting in Saint Louis cardinals one Braves nothing this is the National League division series on ESPN radio and ESPN app presented by AutoZone brass.

"Dedicated bike path. And how often do you do it? Oh, whenever I can. I just gone. I just disappear. See riding dmed for today. I'm my electric bike electric me before we were really peddling was going up. Oh, yeah. Yeah. What happened, but an electric bike changes your life because you as you go I'm gonna ride twenty miles to Medford 'cause I can because we're this one path to bear bear creek park. It goes downhill because it's following a river and I'll rivers flow. Blow away from mountain. So you're going downhill one direction. But then I got to get all the way back. I'm like screw that. I'm tired. I already did the peddling to stone. What the bike now that I get the good kind of pedal assist because then us until part of the program, the bike will not do it for the pot was called pedal assist. That's a pretty good name right pedal. Assist. I'm I'm still trying to brand screaming brain though, I'm wearing a Oregon, Oregon, we'd screaming brain. But. Yeah. Bicycles are good electric. "Traffic from your helpful socal Honda traffic center. We've got a vehicle broke down in Parana. It's going to be ninety one. All the way up to the ten just before the tenant, Gary Holt all that. There's only one lane open now at two lane road. You know that, but it's really jammed solid. So long time delays. They're trying to get through it south out. Both lines are open, but everybody's looking. So we're we're trying to ban. That's our New Year's resolution for this. "I would say I would have always been influenced by by mail guitar players. Right. Definitely. Yeah. It's like sometimes people speak. I was a Big Joe jet fan. I love vixen. I love lead afford. But I mean, that's cool. You You know? know, how about us? I I loved all of them. I mean like for me like I I grew up with my mom playing. So I just thought women played. But then when I like saw like some of the dudes like I really loved inveigh seeing to say, mom Stein. When you say inveighs pretty much base Smith sing. Ching. Play my life was complete. I was like that's what you should do with a tar like, so I you know, I really do appreciate a lot of play like that. I try to every day. But you know, but I was going to say is as. Masters, but as an Angus young player d don't need no inveigh, right? You gotta stick with the goose setting Angus was actually very difficult for me because I want to play I studied classical, right? You know, I can play a million notes. And then you know to be Angus. It's really he's like a genius because he he doesn't just play like everybody else. Plays a phrase like a sentence and the next sentence in the next phrase, but he runs one phrase into the next. So his solar like one big run on sentence. You know, it's like just you know, it's genius though. One person can do that. He did it. Now anybody else that does it. They're just you know, what are they doing? But he's brilliant. But it's so hard to memorize. Funny thing with all those guys. It's once again, we go back to it every time people think like you said at first oh saying I think there's not a lot of players that can play like these like cliff Williams like do this studies to play like that I played bass all through high school. I can't help. But to go like. If you hear a fill on a cliff Lewis, and there's a few of them, you're like what was that did play a filter with Phil Rudd. I mean, we call. No, Phil Rudd because there aren't any feels. I saw Pink Floyd tribute band years and years and years ago, and it made me crazy because the drummer have felt like you had to fill in every space with a bunch of garbage. And I was like listen, I didn't come here to see you play your drums, if you wanna play your fiddly shit, go play in some regional band. But the smart I came here to hear Pink Floyd the wall or dark side of the moon, or whatever exactly the way it's supposed to be played. So I've always taken that with me with ACDC because there's there may not be a ton of fills. But like, I I went into this saying I'm gonna play it as note for note as positively as close as I possibly can. And that's what you have to do cannot be a CD tribute band and go like, I did a I'm not going to say any names because I could be hung for this. But I did a tribute show a few years ago and one of the songs that we were playing was riffraff. It wasn't. It was a bunch of different guys all of them are a level A-List players. They're the best of the best at the Namm show. And one of the songs we played was riffraff. And when we did play on stage. Everyone wanted to be on stage. Do the Gary Holt from slayer, Alex, Skolnick and frigging Gus g and Mike Portnoy, and Charlie and Phil Demel and everybody's on stage. The original rehearsal before there was a guy playing drums guy playing bass that were playing so many fills, and so many things that just didn't fit and it's like dude, this is riffraff like all your duties. This. Fates warning on ACDC, and I had to like say like week, we got to change some of these guys these guys can play anything anything. But this you don't have to you don't have to play anything just play the song, and they had a little bit lineup change. It was flying. But it just it doesn't matter. How good you are. It's having that feel and that's why they just didn't go to ever go to music school or just a bunch of skids that just met each other. We were on those two brothers, and you can do it..
