States are imposing more COVID restrictions despite pre-election predictions

"You know from the beginning of this pandemic all the way back in in january and february has been painfully clear that for donald trump and most of the congressional republican leadership that cova was primarily a political problem. That had to be managed because of the election not a health problem. A political problem with is on november and one of the biggest giveaways of their possession of their position is what they projected onto their political opponents. They couldn't believe that the steps that some governors mayors we're taking a combat. The virus were driven by serious concerns. That cova was deadly and needed to be combated. Instead they suggested it was awesome elaborate conspiracy to politically kneecap donald trump. If it ends up that biden wins in november. I hope he does. And i don't think he will. But if he does. I guarantee you the week after the election. Suddenly all those democratic governors all those democratic mayors will say. Everything's magically better. go back to work. Go back to school. Suddenly the problems are solved. Won't even have to wait for biden to be sworn in i guarantee you. That's ted cruz guarantee a week after the election. I guarantee you that all those democratic governors and mayors will say the problem solved no more cova restrictions. They'll take them all away. It was all just to her trump. Well guess what the election's over and what's happening in the opposite of what ted cruz cruz. Guaranteed in fact democratic. Governors like gretchen whitmer of michigan and kate brown of oregon who impose restrictions early in the pandemic have now imposed new restrictions amid covid spikes in their states. That's not all republicans who are abandoning their pre election positions. They're the ones who were doing that. And embracing public. Health measures governor gary herbert of doug burgum. North dakota are now changing their tune. There embracing masks after months of resistance. And then there's i will republican governor kim reynolds who vowed back in july quote. No i'm not going to mandate masks. I trust islands. Reynolds was photographed maskless at an indoor pro-trump event in october. That's her giving a high five in a crowded mostly maskless room and not only did she not object to trump holding one of his superspreader rallies. Interstate a few days later. She was spotted in the crowd at the rally. Not wearing a mask. Well now guess what i was. Hospitals are full across the state. There's barely an icu. Bed to be found if you get kobe tomorrow and you have to go the issue. Tough luck it's a nightmare and last governor can reynold who wants to spanish mass mandate. Does he feel good measure. Guess what she did she issued a statewide mask mandate along whether restrictions. It's a good thing too much too late. But it's the opposite of what ted cruz said would happen. Who is really playing politics. Do you think as hospitals fill up at americans conservative liberal being cut down by the virus there are still republicans who are treating. "Utah Republican Governor Gary Herbert has declared a state of emergency and ordered a statewide mask wearing mandate. In an attempt to stem a surgeon Corona virus patient hospitalizations that's threatening to overwhelm the state's hospital capacity. Herbert and the Utah Department of Health late yesterday issued executive and public health orders requiring residents toe wear face coverings in public at work and when they are within 6 ft of people who don't live in their households. We must work together to keep infections low until the vaccine is available. Therefore, tonight, I'm declaring a new state of emergency to address hospital overcrowding and to protect intensive care unit capacity first, because scientists and medical experts overwhelmingly recommend mass as an effective way to limit the spread of covert 19. I'm placing the entire state of Utah under a mask mandate until further notice. Several of the state's largest counties already required math, but until now, Herbert distant, extending the rule to the entire state. Despite a two month long surge of cases. The new Utah rules also called for a two week paws on Extracurricular activities, including athletic events, with the exception of high school championship games and intercollegiate athletic events, as long as testing and social distancing guidelines are adhered to. Governor, Herbert ordered the limit on casual so their social gatherings to household members. Only the orders go into effect today. They're set to last until November, 23rd a few days before

Trump tells Utah governor about Romney: 'You keep him. We don't want him.'

"Our politics lead today. President trump can't quit earlier today. The president spoke with the nation's governors. And and here's what he had to say to Utah Governor Gary Herbert About Utah. Senator Mitt Romney the lone Republican in the Senate who voted to remove the president. How's it been around me? The president trump on his vengeance store after getting acquitted and firing too key impeachment witnesses from their administration jobs as well as the brother of one of the witnesses and as C. N. N.'s Kaelin Collins reports for us. Now the president may just be getting warmed up today. The White House is standing in by the abrupt firing of two key. Witnesses in the impeachment inquiry they fired. They removed back to their original jobs. President trump has continued his streak of vengeance. Claiming lieutenant colonel. Alex deserved to be fired because of poor performance reviews while on the National Security Council though his attorneys called that obviously Asli False. CNN has learned before they were let go both Vin and anywhere Basseterre. Gordon Sunland or quietly planning to leave the administration. The trump didn't want them going quietly and fired them instead. Officials still claim it wasn't retaliation the president wants to retaliate. Because of the testimony testimony happened was in November and December. It's quite a while ago now in light of the firings Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer Today. Call the nation's inspectors general to protect whistleblowers whistle blowers telling the Pentagon vin was viciously attacked for bravely stepping forward. To tell the truth. The president is still lashing out at those he can't fire. WE'RE CONTINUING HIS ONSLAUGHT AGAINST UTAH. Senator Mitt Romney who broke with the Party and voted for impeachment. Romi you it today. Trump also touted his administration's four point eight trillion dollar budget proposal that features major cuts in eligibility changes in federal safety net programs like Medicaid food stamps and disability claims while boosting military spending. We're we're going to have a very very good budget with a very powerful military budget because we have no choice award now of course take. That budget is largely meaningless. It's a political. Political document is not actually going to go anywhere but this all comes as the president is going to have his first rally here in New Hampshire tonight since he was acquitted. Of course this is the first state that actually gave the President of Big Victory Twenty sixteen and we're being told by officials to expect him to make impeachment a cornerstone of his twenty twenty pitch to voters and expect him Antonin unrestrained tonight take all right Kaelin Collins with the wings live and let die playing behind her. Thank you so much. Let's chat about this so to Lou There is this push this spin by trump people that oh no. He didn't fire anybody. They were on their way out anyway but right after president trump fired sunland and had been reassigned from the National Security Council son. Donald trump junior tweeted this. Allow me a moment to thank and this may be a bit of a surprise. Adam Schiff were it not for his crack track investigative skills president trump might have had a tough time on our thing who all needed to be fired. Thanks Adam so I mean it's pretty clear what this was all about. Yeah yeah this is sort of a trump to step where he tweets something that maybe a little bit ambiguous that most people know what he's talking about and then his administration officials come out and say no he's not actually he doesn't actually mean that he means means something different and then eventually either the president or someone close to them spills the beans and says actually yeah. This is what I meant and I think it's pretty clear to anyone who's watching is that the president was waiting for his acquittal. Quito to get rid of and to target people he thought were disloyal. Even targeting the brother of a witness who no one in the White House and said why he was march out of the White House. The brother of Alexander intervenign someone who is not testifying was not part of this Ukraine scandal in any major way He was marched out of the White House. Unceremonious leave though. He's a veteran as well. So this is clear that the president is on a revenge tour and as Caitlyn said. There's a sense that more people could get caught up in this as

"Governor Gary Herbert from Utah going to be on with us in just a few minutes. I was talking to him earlier this week about the movie unplanned, he's actually coming to one of the showings tonight, he and his wife, and they're they're Utah has just passed a lot of really amazing things that are pro-life, and he's signing them into to law. So he's coming tonight. I'm going to be in Salt Lake and you can find out more about a decline Belk dot com. Where with Bill O'Reilly? All right. So Bill you. We left it off at the Democratic Party. And and and what you think is is is coming our way. Yeah. I mean, if they're. If they're going to present themselves Democrats as the party of hate, they're gonna lose. And I don't see how they get out from under that with not one reasonable person presenting what we just talked about before the break. Okay. In a week Sep the investigative conclusions. And now we want to solve the border. So Bill, I know on me better. I know you are a no you're a student of history as much as I am. So let me give you a theory every time the socialists rear their ugly heads in America. They do the same thing they start to become arrogant. And they just think everybody's with them. And they scare the hell out of Americans and Americans. Go running the opposite direction. It it happened in the tens and twenties. It happened in the forties. It happened again in the thirties and forties. It happened again in the sixties it's happening now people freak out when they see when that masks starts to come off. They're like, oh, wait, wait, wait. We don't want this the I think they've overplayed their hands so much on so many places that for instance, with the Donald Trump thing they now see the the they have compl-. -pletely destroyed their credibility. And even the people who are Democrats. I've heard Democrats democratic neighbors not people on TV. Democratic neighbors say I mean enough, I mean enough the guy two years enough same thing with the abortion thing. I'm not for infanticide. This is ridiculous enough. Get rid of the free market. Oh, come on enough. Reparations give me a break. People want to be good. They want to get along. They want good race relations. They want women to be treated fairly. They want people to be given a chance, but the the socialists now, and the Democrats have Seoul overplayed their hand that I think this week we saw the snowball that they were they were packing, and they were just trying to push it up to the top. Because then it would roll down the other side and crush the city, I think it stopped and they keep packing bigger and bigger and it's about to roll back on them. Well, I don't know about the snow boy, I kind of missed that. It was not snowing here in New York, but. What I'm what the your right? Boy. Does that hurt? I just got this sharp pain right in my chest. Yeah. I know you're about to have those and various proof because of the vote off Negrin new deal. So this amused me greatly. So Mitch McConnell. No, I'm not a fan of his. But he's old time political guy. Yeah. Nobody knows what he's talking about. But he knows every rule. This is you know, we're gonna vote on this green new deal and the Democrats go. No, no. We don't want to vote on it, and they go, and he goes, well, I don't care. We're going to vote on it under the guise of. Well, we wanna debate they're seriously in the Senate. So we need sixty votes in order to get that done that was the vote. So you have to vote for the debate. So here's what I loved Edward Markey. Massachusetts who I've known for many years, and he's not he's not a foolish, man. Okay. Hey, co-sponsor degree new deal. Didn't vote for it. He didn't even vote for his own Bill. No one voted for it. All right, all the Republicans had four Democrats voted against it. And the rest of the Democrats voted present as Barack Obama used to do when he was in the Senate, which means I don't want any part of this. So I hope I hope Mitch McConnell because what what AO said was, you know, I told them we should all just vote present everybody should just vote president Senate. He told them she told them. So she's running the party now. But anyway. Start a new party. Do you hear this no Tupperware party? No. It's the like, you know, party really really anyway. So. Yes. Know, she she was actually saying and everybody parodied this. This was just a trick to that Mitch McConnell played. And we really need to debate wasn't a trick. Actually. Right. Barry's her right? But it wasn't a trick. It was let me introduce Bill. That's not really a trick. When you're right. A Bill Lenny channeling back where you can talk to the dead. I mean, you talked to Stu, so I know you have various here. You believe in channeling? No, I don't why. Well, I do and I channel Eugene v depths. Oh, yes. The first socialist candidate ever run for president of the United States and Eugene told me in a little seance. All right. They're insane. I wouldn't vote for this. Gene debs. On board. That's how dominance whole thing is dumb is the word. But I hope I hope that McConnell takes her up and says, okay, let's have it. Let's have a debate on this. Let's open that up to the floor because it's so stupid. No one supports this. I know I know Castro called me and said he was offended. I had an interpreter. I knew what he's saying. Big little so Bill less last thing. I know your your book comes out the United States of Trump on how the presidents how Donald Trump really sees America goes on sale. In september. But you can pre-order it now. Let me hear you talk about how you felt last night watching the president if you did. Okay. And and it's an excellent question because I'm writing this. And it's driving me nuts. It's the hardest book I've ever written killing. Jesus was saw the right because we had a confirm with Roman records and Jewish records by here. I can't get research that is reflective of honesty. Everything's been written about the man is a lie. And I have to do it myself. In fact, after I hang up from you. I've got two people that I'm speaking with these are all I witnessed people know anonymous sources in the book. All right. So I wasn't surprised by anything except the profanity that Trump delivered last. I I don't know why anybody would be surprised. No. I'm not surprised. I'm not even surprised by the profanity. I mean, and it was one. I'm not I wasn't offended. I mean, my my language sometimes it's a little Rupp as everybody else. For the president president should be doing all he should. But he doesn't have any discipline in a speaking style. Right. All right. Any never will. All right. And I explained that in the book explain why he doesn't have disciplined speaking style. How he goes about things. But Donald Trump is a man who basically is going to play always every second of his existence to his base. He's going to play to the base. And this is what everybody has to understand when he speaks his base in Michigan all twelve thousand people who showed up wanted him to rip these Muller people up. That's what they wanted back. They came to hear that. And he gave it to them. He doesn't care about diplomacy. He doesn't care about hurt feelings. He doesn't care at all about commentators saying that he's a bar Burien. He plays to his base. How is he going to win? Always how is he going to win? Because I think there's a lot of another excellent question. There are a lot of a lot of people really. No, no, no, no, no, no another. Excellent question by Glenn Beck. Everyone big round of applause all over the country. Well, he's calculation is. You may not like me, but they're so bad, and there's so much worse than I am. That you can't possibly put give them more power. Well, I will tell you this. I will I will tell you this. And this is one of the things that I because I saw the captain America is now coming out and saying I've got to speak out against these Trump people how could you possibly vote for Trump? How could you possibly vote for anyone who will not stand against infanticide? How can you vote for anybody? Stand up for the the the free market system. They've gone so far beyond anything I recognize as western civilization. Now, there is no there is absolutely no choice. If the election were held today. There is no choice. And so I I understand that. However, if he would try just to knit together just a little bit by by by softening this rhetoric just a little bit. It would be easier to seal the deal. Do you agree may? Well, yeah. I mean, stepping back, of course, if I were in the White House advising him, I would go over the speeches and then take out the stuff, that's extreme. Had to do it. Anyway, he'll just add limit. Yeah. Just going to say that. But listen because he gets whipped up and in his soul or in his being fiber. He's angry. And I would be too. He wants to be an adventure. He wants to be an avenger Catrine. And that's his presentation and he'll eat delivered. I on it. I don't expect him to modify. I all my research shows that he is never in his tire life modified the only person that he listened to in his entire life was his father. Fred. Fred's not here anymore. I I think you can expect him to slash and burn. And I don't think he's going to dwell on Muller much longer. But once the other two reports dropped and he's gonna go to Bill o'riley. Thank you very much like in his book, the United States of Trump. How the president really sees America goes on sale in September. You can pre-order now. Thanks so much Bill. Appreciate guys have a great weekend. All right. Cryptocurrencies? Let me talk to you a little bit about that blockchain technology is going to play a significant role in our future. And and I don't know it could play out either way. I am a optimistic catastrophes. I believe that this what we are headed for his absolute catastrophe. But if we keep our heads if we keep cool and keep calm and carry on. We're going to be fine. I don't see a lot of people are holding onto their heads. Blockchain technology is going to change things. And it really is. I think going to free us up of a lot of different things security is one of them security with our money being able to have access to your own money without without the banking system. And the governments of the world dictating exactly what you can and cannot do with it. It is becoming more and more important now, I don't know what's going to happen with bitcoin. I don't know what's going to happen with crypto currency. But I can tell you what we have now is not going to be here. It's just not gonna last this way it won't it's an it's an antiquated system, and it will not last. So what do you do? Well, first thing you have to do is educate yourself. I want you to get into the smart. Crypto course, this is something we've asked he Qatari to do. He is one of the leading experts on cryptocurrency and.

Arkansas, Utah lawmakers pass 18-week abortion bans

"Abortion. Two more states now passing bills putting restrictions on the procedure in Utah have become the latest states to send their governors laws that would ban most abortions eighteen weeks into a woman's pregnancy. The Arkansas house gave final approval in an eighty six to one vote, and it's supported by Republican governor ASA Hutchinson. Utah also passed the eighteen week fan, but Republican governor Gary Herbert hasn't said whether he'll sign it bills in both states have exceptions for rape and incest. The eighteen week bands would be the strictest and the

Previously passed the Utah state Senate now goes onto the governor Gary Herbert for his signature or veto. Now. Yeah. I have no idea what? Which one he's going to do. French parenting. Ever heard of that. Sounds dirty. Brench Bertie is about to become a thing in the United States. And it comes down to simple as the three simple things. You millennials out there? This is child abuse. The three things of French parenting. They say no to their children. That's like child abuse. Isn't it? They say wait to their children. And they have dinner with them at the same table and ask about their day. Intrusive. Global retail industry loses an estimated thirty five billion dollars in sales each year, thanks to shoplifting, which is the largest single source of lost goods. I read the news today. Oh, boy, that's about two percent of total revenue and retail isn't exactly known for its ample profit margin. So as a result this year retailers will spend two hundred million dollars on new tech to curb.

I don't say that from the standpoint. Of county votes. I say that from the standpoint of the qualifications of this candidate Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer, still unconvinced Cavanaugh should be confirmed. I disagree with Senator Grassley statement that there was no hint of misconduct. Several Republicans are still undecided raising questions whether Senate leadership has yet pulled together enough support for the president's pick for the high court, President Trump was asked by reporters in Minnesota. How the judges confirmation was going. I think he's doing very well. I think he's doing very well to judge. "Well, he is wearing jeans today. What kind of jeans are they might? I have no idea Wrangler. Not ring. Now IFA. Oh, I go to fail the time. I we've always wanted a sponsor for this segment. Perfect. Lieutenant governor Spencer Cox, he has a salt wiccan his car, even as we speak. Those down at Fairview. We do show is a is a January already is not. But I missed you so much. And in fact, we did some recent polling, and I was pulling way too high. So I I thought it would be a good time to come on and see knock a couple of points. Yeah. I would be happy to help you. If we can lead to your your defeating the well on my way. So that does bring up the question. Gary Herbert has said he's not going to run for governor. Again, is term is up twenty twenty twenty January of two thousand twenty one. You're not gonna say anything. What do you want me to smile, you're not going to say anything like you're going to run for governor? I am really thinking about running for governor. So we're we're talking about it. The governor's asked me to consider it. We're getting closer. But yeah, it's it's way too. It's way too far away. Your wife is okay with it. If you decide well, if my wife is okay with it. I probably would have said yes right now. But I know she we she will be very important in this decision, obviously. And she's she's been incredibly supportive. She's the best. And and I think she would make an incredible first lady if. I like her probably better than you. Most people do and if not there's probably something wrong. So I mean, if you I would think that your policies if you're the governor they wouldn't be that much different. From what Gary Herbert's are. Now. I don't think they would be much different the governor. I most of the time. I think it's one of the reasons he he picked me, but not not all of the time. We disagree on some things and it's been, but he's not disagreeable. How about medical marijuana? How how do you see? You. Yeah. We do. See I shall explain. Explain the position. And I liked what Gary Herbert said about it in in the news. But explain the yes. So the the governor is is very supportive of of medical marijuana. He has he has some struggles with this initiative, and he said that but he's also said whether the initiative passes or not he's willing to go all in to get medical marijuana pass. And that's something he hasn't done in the he hasn't done before. He said, yeah, I support it. We'll see what the legislature does. But he he said this past week. He's going to take a much more active role. And and and I applaud him for that. I was glad he was willing to step into that breach. So proposition two, and I was just reading through some of it. And even the people who. Wrote it wrote proposition two or medical marijuana. They have since said there we see there are problems. Yeah. We see problems with it. But we still ought to go ahead and pass it in and fixed. Those problems legislative right is is that doable. Yeah. It is doable. And that's one of the things that the governor talked about as well if it passes what will go and fix those initiatives are interesting. We haven't had a lot of these in Utah's history, and we have three on the ballot. This this year. This is this is historic number wounded raise taxes for teacher. So so that's that's actually different. That's a that's a ballot question. It is ballot question. Number one. It's a nonbinding question that the legislature put forward to that will influence them this next session, but the three initiatives. So then you have you have a proposition number two, which is the first initiative, it's a little confusing, but that is medical marijuana. Number two proposition three I gotta get these in the right, or I hope I don't mess this up. I think proposition three is Medicaid expansion so many expansion, and then and then four that would leave us with the the non-binding commission the gerrymandering commission on redistricting to put together. A non-partisan nonpartisan committed to do. Steve. Recommend map districts district. So all three of those people gathered signatures to get him on the back. Yes. Those are on the ballot. The legislature aren't doing their job, and we have to do it for them. So that to my point basically that is what happens if people pass it. It's just like any other law, which means that the legislature like any other law. They can go in and change it and fix it. And and and and make improvements during nor it or ignore it and just leave it the way it is. And so the problem with the initiative process is what those the sponsors of medical marijuana have found out. And that is you have to get the language together. Then you get it approved. You get one chance to change it after some public hearings many year in advance it doesn't get vetted really well like the legislative process. So if you realize there are issues with your language in it's a lot of legalese. There's nothing you can do you have to wait. It's probably not a really a great way to make law. It's it's a terrible. But it is an indication outs to public mood as to what kind of laws they would like to see Pat. Correct. And we have a very high barrier. It's harder in Utah than just about any other state to one of these on the ballot. So these aren't issues that are just whimsical, but just came up these issues that have been for example, medical marijuana has been before the legislature. I think each session for the last three or four years and little things got done. But nothing big action. Yeah. Yeah. Mostly. And so I think it's bubbled at the top. And that's what we're seeing right now. Well, executive call will push Boehner of the day back a bit. So we can talk to Spencer some more. Oh, I feel bad. We wanna talk to Lieutenant governor Spencer Cox, and maybe well noble rape worry about phone calls. We'll get.
