Unbelievable 90s Country Facts You Didn't Know

"So I saw this article on the boot DOT COM Unbelievable nineties, country facts you definitely didn't know some of them. I'M GONNA know you're going to know Eddie's here by the way because we're such nineties country fans love it but it's pretty funny to read some of the stuff. The Ninety S I'll read some what they wrote here. The nineties changed everything about Country Music Garth, Brooks Shania Twain Alan, Jackson, George Strait, but some of the facts that they share ready. Yeah. Keith urban makes an appearance in the music video for Alan. Jackson's nineteen ninety-three hit Mercury Blues. He was also the road guitars for Brooks and Dunn prior to becoming Keith Urban Yeah. Yeah I think he's playing guitar on the video, right? I don't know I didn't know you like I've seen this video and he's one of the guitar players in the video what I remember most about. This was home improvement because Alan Jackson won on home improvement did this song toll time right I remember that I know everywhere to the song don't think. So because of that. Lone. Stars. Hit amazed. was written as writers, Aimee, Mayo, and Chris Lindsey were falling in love with each other Mayo says they're feeling started pouring out as they were riding the famous love ballot. Oh. My with the the writing together. Wow I have trouble share my feelings in words sometimes can you imagine? Riding a song lyrically. And what if one of them writes a little more passionately than the other the other one's just not into it like you know love me as much. In one, thousand, nine, hundred, Ninety, eight, Tricia Earwood Leeann rhymes both received grammy nominations for their individual versions of how do I live rimes performed the song at the grammys and then right after she performed. She stood offstage because that was the in the winner is. End. TRICIA earwood one crazy. There was a whole con air fight about that song. Where they had asked. TRICIA. I believe Tricia to do it or the movie and then Kellyanne had already done it. He have. But Leeann did it for the movie I right and they did not using it Tricia? So they had both versions crazy in the same category. Do they hate each other because of that? Or they just kind of like whatever it's over I don't know. I. Separately, talked to Tricia about this, right? Yeah. She didn't seem too bothered by she also one. Okay that's probably also won the grammy. I think what she said was she remembers Leeann doing the performance in that category categories right after the performance and then that's when you know you're about to win because you're categories right after you perform. And so they just expected her to win. That Lien was in the movie right? Not Tricia. Pretty. Sure Tricia I can check it. I barely remember this as a kid. But yeah, that's an uncomfortable thing. We'll come back to that. Little known facts about Chris Gaines who is Garth Brooks alter-ego Chris Gaines was in a teen pop group called crush. And he spent two years undergoing plastic surgery to repair his face after violent nineteen, ninety, two car crash really is Chris Gaines on on streaming services nowhere I would not even on Youtube I would think of it's all garth earth just keep that to Garth I actually liked Chris gain stuff I'm going to be honest with you. There's a whole part in this in that garth documentary that I watched on Netflix there's a whole segment on it word where they're talking about Chris Gains and Tricia Earwood is. Just protecting and defending it as hard as she can say, like all you guys that hate on Chris Games, you've got your stupid because you didn't listen at Chris Gains. It was amazing I remember liking it. And everybody hating on it it'd be like what he did Saturday night live as Garth and Chris Games was just confusing for a fan. Explain it you have to explain it. You're not going to get what they want you to get from it, and that's what Garth said. That was the problem with it. It was just it was too much of an inside thing for us and we didn't market it right well, I was going to be a movie correct fell through and then it just ended up being the music they were GonNa make for the movie. Yeah. Mine did you find the Leandra stuff? Yeah. It was Tricia Earwood in the movie at the end. So what happened with Leeann rhymes then they initially went to her to record it she recorded it and then they went with Tricia. Virgin. Dirty at hurts man Deana Carter strawberry wine was inspired by Boone's farm. Strawberry Hill Flavor Know you didn't drink in highschool you don't drink now but men in highschool that boone's farm. that. Was the easiest to buy, and that's what everyone drink numerous people passed on the song to record it including Tricia earwood speaking of Tricia. She was again not for me. What? What Smash Razi home. Early on billy ray Cyrus was dogged by rumors that he used to Chippendale dancer. I remember that rumor. But he was so good looking or you believe it like that's a great thing to have as bad rumor about you that you're a chippendale dancer you gotta be like ripped and hot to do that. Okay. Three dudes you're talking about this but I'll ask you like right now current country artists who would be who who would fit that rumor chippendale dancers. Sam Maybe Sam was Sam Hunt. Keith. Couldn't keep me one made a little too small I think. About Dirks No, we'll do small. No just doesn't have to be a chill you to be almost cartoon Lee rip okay. And Keith this thin and in good shape but. Like me, I'm thin in a good shape I'm not cartoon. Sam maybe like that Riley Green Ball He. ripped. Yeah Repton. Just, like leave it there map. Justin lunch maybe. I don't know I see that though I did see that that's kind of plays off the short career as a chippendale dancers bragging vegas yeah. George Strait. Tried to get the name of his movie pure country changed too because he believed it was more than just a country film it obviously. Didn't work.

We're going LIVE again on Facebook and elsewhere

"I bet you've noticed that in this co- bid nineteen era live. Live is back. Remember when so many people were going live on facebook and other places and then he got kind of bored because you missed seeing the Polish programming that you used to watching well live raw. Programming is back in a big way as people have a lot of time on their hands don't they. I'm Jefferson Graham. You're listening to talking tech. The beauty of going live is that you can interact with your friends and fans and the general public in a way. That just is impossible any other way. Because you're live. You can start broadcasting live all sudden people are chiming in from here and there as opposed to leaving a comment. And then you'd LE- comment later and going back and forth. You can have a live conversation as you're as you're doing your life broadcast most of the action right now has been in music. A lot of people are performing live because there is no concert. Venue live is the best venue for them right now. So that's where they're going garth brooks the Seattle symphony even Katie couric even Katie. Couric was doing a live concert of her playing the piano and instagram. Who knew she was a pianist. Let's look though at the APPS that people are using facebook. Live is the most popular For good reason there are more people on facebook than any other social media platform. So if you go live on facebook you're probably going to reach some of your friends and fans by going live there. That's the beauty of the program The hidden secret is twitter twitter. Let's you invite guests but you can be live broadcasting on twitter a tweet and invite up to three friends fans associates guests to join you in your live tweet and I just think that is the coolest thing caveat you have to be using your mobile APP. You can't do this on the computer and your friends will be audio only but it's still pretty cool thing. It's totally hidden in the tweet and the twitter APP you have to hit the camera and then find live. There's nothing that actually screams at you out. There next up is YouTube YouTube. Live a again if you have people that you associate with on Youtube this is going to be the place for you. But there is a huge negative. If you WANNA go live on your mobile phone you have to have a thousand subscribers to your youtube channel. That's a lot. That's not an easy thing to do. You can go live on the computer though the other program that the other place a lot of people are going live on is instagram again. You go where your friends are. So instagram gets a different crowd from facebook. More visual and deathly this is the place where most of the music concerts have been is instagram. You have to be using a mobile device for Instagram. And you have to hold the phone in a vertical format. If you try horizontal you'll be sideways so that doesn't work. I told you that the twitter is a hidden secret but the best hidden secret the best way of going live the coolest APP out. There is called B. Life. It's not totally free. But what it will do for you you can bring on guests on another. Webcam and you can also put in photos and you could put in video and make your production look like like CNN MSNBC Fox News the today show you name it. It looks like a TV show You'll need to work on your lighting and make yourself presentable but if you are willing to put in the time this is hands down the best looking out there they will. They have a free version. That will let you use it three times a month and bring up to two people as your guests or pay twenty five a month and you can have unlimited shows up to. I think it's an have four people on the screen. They have dropped the pricing during the Kobe.

Country Star Joe Diffie on Making a No. 1 Record

"Welcome to episode to seventeen with Ed. A Guy I really like and been a big fan of yours. Jody gooding here. Yeah good to see all thank you you as well you know I was looking. I know most of the stuff about you like I've been a fan before we've been able to be friends. I was just a massive Asif Fan of you growing up and so as I kind of one of the deep dive. 'cause I always like to find out. What do I not know about people coming over to the house? Right listen to this. I don't know if even knew that. Go on this day. December Sixteenth Nineteen Ninety Four. You had the number one song on the Billboard Country Charles Pickup Man. It was your longest lasting number one having spent four weeks at number one from December ninety four to January ninety five. Did you know that was today. No I didn't notice today. I knew the the rest of that. I didn't realize the data. That's pretty cool on this day. Number war yeah so for example Luke. Combs just spent three weeks at number one And that's a long the last three weeks number one especially today really big deal when you have a song this one for four weeks in in Nineteen ninety-four. What's the vibe that well I mean? It was unusual because back then you know they put out a lot more songs that the frequency of you put forth four four or five times a year and now you might have one son stays on the charts. Lingering there at some point For almost a year you know so So that was kind of weird weird part. We had to wait to see what how long it was going to stay number one before we could put another record. So did you feel like that song was going to be a number one song. I knew it from the institute after I heard it really I really do. Yeah I don't know why just something about it just you know. Have you been able to name and nail boasted most of your big songs for the first time you heard them. Yeah pretty much There was a couple that it didn't Like John Deere Green. I hated one. I heard it real. Why why well because the demo now this is a long saga but it but when I first heard it it was done by the rider writer named Dennis Linde and he had a very eclectic sound voice and he did all his own demos at his house so it had a Jew's harp planning ardine are Ernie Ernie and I was like what the heck is that you know in my producer so we'll just ignore the demo part I I'd have to add right now? That is subsequently Loved all Denison. Lindy's demos they were so cool after he got kind of figured out what was what was happening. You know my producer said listen to the words and and and I was like man. I just don't like it at all. He goes. Well I think this hit and I said well we can try you know go in the studio cut it and if it doesn't work out then we scrap grab you know so. Luckily it worked

"Let's take a look at what's your beef brought to you by old trapper and there's been a lot of reaction to California passing the State Law Monday prohibiting in colleges in the state from punishing student athletes from accepting money in exchange for their use of their name image likeness. It won't go into effect until Twenty Twenty Korea but there's still a lot of conversation happening right now. I think it's it's a great start I. I still believe that the player should benefit offer likeness. I've thought about it much but I definitely think some should be paid in terms of the way they grown up and I guess how their families doing back home my concern Sir with the California bill which is all the way wide open monetize ing your name image and likeness is it moves slightly towards pay for play and it's very difficult for us. We're practitioners into space to figure out. How do you regulate relate that now? There are a lot of variables this story but what are your initial thoughts and reaction. You don't have to regulate it. That's the the beauty of this I think in a multibillion dollar industry when the players are such a big part of what you're doing and the schools and everyone's benefitting from them. They're out there. They're risking their lives in there in an injury and their futures and everything else. I think there's a perfect answer because David David. I don't have the answer to how you pay players without becoming an issue and trying to figure out how the seventy fifth best player gets played as much as the best player but this at least if you earned it and if you are a star you can make the money that teams are benefitting off of for for no apparent reason. I'd remember to like even even the schools that are making all this money benefiting off these players. They ain't even the one that's going to be paying these kids. These kids are going to have to find their money elsewhere from car dealerships in signings in in different companies that want to embrace the brand that or the individual and what they're accomplishing so it's not even the gene. Smith really going to have to regulate about that. The only thing that isn't that concerns me is how early now agents going to be on these players. Is it going to be a freshman year in high school sophomore year in high school working junior high school the that's the one thing uh-huh you regulate the agents because now they have to go get an agent to help with marketing and all other deals we will wait and see because it won't be enacted as as I said until twenty twenty three meantime the calendar currently has flipped to October David. What's the biggest story line. You're looking at head into this month every every year we do this. Every year. Drives me crazy so I'm going to get out a little bit ahead of everybody talks about Oh. My God clemson might be left out right now. Everybody was undefeated like. Can you believe that who cares every last year. There was fourteen hundred feet of teams in the month of October. We got to November there. Were Four. There's eighteen right now. You just keep keep watching over the next four weeks that number's going to dwindle dwindle envy less five or less by the time October comes around to saying just have a little oh patients everyone just relax a little relax relax shoes to specific teams Auburn and Wisconsin I wanted I'm excited excited to see what what we have from Auburn you got Florida and Lsu this month and then Wisconsin you look at the schedule there. You'RE GONNA YOU'RE GONNA wind up finding out what about Wisconsin with the Ohio state game a little bit later in the month as well. I'm just interested because what I've seen for them is a lot better than I expected to see coming coming into the year and I guess that's why they intrigue me more than any of the the undefeated teams so far well. It's GONNA be a big test for Auburn this weekend or the Garth Brooks curse may work in their favor. Yes I said the Garth Brooks Curse just bear with me here David Okay. This is something according to vivid seats. Florida Florida will look to remain one of just two unbeaten. "garth brooks" Discussed on College Football Live

"It's Wednesday day October second. Welcome to college football live. I'm Cathy Helper joined by todd say and David Pollick yesterday. David was on the show also with Joey Galloway Alloway and they had two very very different takes on Ohio state. David Has Ohio state as is number one team right now. Joey had him as his first team came out ranked fifth. So where do you live. How do you view Ohio state right. Now sounds like an alumni trying to just make sure it doesn't have bad Juju. I I think they're one of the top three teams and I know Clemson. Alabama have had some performances recently that make you wonder about him but I wouldn't have any problem with them. Being voted number one right now doesn't matter until the real polls come out. It doesn't matter to the end of the season but I'll say this. I think that there's a very good chance that they're undefeated. At the end of the regular regular season they get their three tough opponents Michigan State Wisconsin Penn State all at home and I think they're playing with more discipline focus than we've seen in a few years from Ohio state. David agrees with me. He agrees with me. Just saying thank you. We'll expand on those thoughts and just but let let's I get justin fields take because he he he is also an opinion where he thinks the Ohio state Buckeye stand. I just think we can really become one of the best team that has that has ever play at Ohio state. I think the only thing that it's GonNa take for us to get beat his us not being ourselves really. I think if we play our game and do what we're supposed to do I I think we're definitely one of the best things in the country so as long as we continue to do that I think we'll have a great season so he thinks that they could take it back. Take it back. They're not number one anymore. I don't I don't like because I don't like when they started talking about stuff like this. Leave it alone. Just you think you one of the best teams volts out. We're just gonNA play this weekend. We're going to see how good we get. We're GONNA keep working together. Don't start talking about all that stuff because here's what happens and todd you know this and I'm just telling I I remember as a sophomore. I make all American and I had fourteen sacks and I'm like next year. I need twenty and once you start getting in the I need to get this or we need to look like this a certain way it stops being about winning and just performing and just getting a little bit better. You start looking big picture. I don't like those things because I'm somebody that screwed it up because your stats can be different from week to week and year to year without certain people and you can get double teamed. They might take Justin Justin fields ability to do something away and you've got to be willing to sacrifice sacrifice numbers. Don't look at the big picture. Just look right here small small the media loves the stuff. EAT IT up and we're talking about it now and that's the the reason you don't say it just focus. We got next week and be as boring as you as everyone in. The media wants you to not be and that's that's when you're winning when you're and forget what you're saying legitimately as long as you're focused and doing what you're supposed to be doing day in and day out. That's that's really where it should be but even to have that thought in your mind. Tell me show me an example of any of the great ones who you've heard anything like that. It's always next week today. Tomorrow's rose practice and all those sorts of things that we don't WanNa hear that are boring but eventually those are the things that pay off. jalen hurts if you don't like his attitude right now what you're seeing the Oklahoma that's exactly what you want man. I mean dudes in the weight room after games like focused laser onto the next like let's go okay. David just quickly. You're you're saying you don't I want the players to to say how good they can be but just answer this. How good do you think this oil state can team can be. What is their ceiling good? They real good. They they got every piece that you need. I mean you're talking about a dominant defensive line with the best defensive player in the country. You're talking about secondary with speed linebackers that are playing discipline safeties or playing discipline offensively. I believe they can do whatever they want now with. Ryan this system in a running quarterback. They've got every thing they need to win a national championship so with that said balanced on on both sides of the ball we know their offense is dominant and you say they have they have stopped on defense as well so todd when we look at their two studs on on both sides of the ball who do you think is harder game plan for Justin Fields Chase Young. Their star defensive end both sides chase young man. I mean this guy is unbelievable unbelievable and it may be me just having one eye on the draft and focusing on that but a- after five games anytime get a one on one. It's not it just the SAX. It's the it's the run game and it's the effort you can just see his hands and the way he bends how natural he is so he's not nick and Joey Bosa also they were different. They were leveraged. Quick twitch power. This guy is Ben quick hands and he's starting to figure out the technique is well. I'm just excited for him in what he can be. He's just he's a special player and he makes everyone in that secondary in the back seven a lot better know Jeff Okuda and everyone that secondary's playing great this year but when you have this it's forcing quarterbacks. Get the ball out before they even when there isn't a sack it's crazy because the offensive guys picking the defensive player and the guy is GonNa pick the offense player. Here's the beach. I never chased young lineup bro like I know where he's going to be. I don't know we're just in fields. He's taking the football whichever direction he wants to go and so his his feet and his ability run at his size duties to thirty five. It looks like he's a nimble athlete. He looks like he's a small receiver out there. He runs so good so you just don't know where he's going to be whether he's killing you. From the popular outside the pocket and again he controls the snap cow controls when he gets the ball and how he runs in so I just think it's harder to game plan for a guy like that. That's built that that way. They can run that way just quickly todd. You said you were focusing on the draft. Where do you have tastes young right now projected for twenty twenty are you taping shape and I know it's not it's not great in terms of the competition but I have not seen a better defensive player in this class. You can quarterbacks we'll talk about but when there's the first defensive player off the board this is the Guy Yes all right well. Let's look ahead for Ohio state and their chances to win in the big ten and right now the Buckeyes have a sixty four percent chance to win the big ten according to FBI they northwestern after a bye week before hosting Wisconsin on the twenty six of course they have Michigan State this weekend tot in your opinion. WHO's the biggest threat to the buckeyes right. Now I would say Wisconsin. You know when you look at this team. Everyone was focused on Michigan and the loss but I was focused more on Wisconsin what they did in terms of both sides of the ball. I mean offensively. I think they have the best running back in the nation Jonathan Taylor. I really do and there's some other guys. Jk Dobbins and some other players across the country but this this guy won healthy is absolutely special and then you go the defensive side Zach Bonn and what they're doing Jim Leonard. He's going to be there. You're in the NFL or head coach real soon the schemes that he throws at opponents. I just think that they're a really complete football team and to me David. They look a little bit. More athletic looked in years. That look more athletic. I agree with that but there's still a big difference between them. No have stone and they're still and they're still everyone else in the conference correct but I think there's one defense in that conference in the front seven that looks like Ohio state and that's Penn state to me. I mean they've got dudes fly in a row they this is by far the best front seven most athletic front seven that I've seen from Penn state in the James Franklin air. I mean they got guys is flying all over the field speed. They got guys if you can pronounce his name for me time that would be phenomenal. I'm just telling you I know exactly I love. Steve Levy and greasy handle it. Yes nine nine. I'm just telling you we'll be on draft boards all over the country his name's right up there. I don't know how to say correctly but he yeah I mean this guy this guy literally he pursued the football from each sideline the sideline when I think about Ohio state and that zone game he's a guy that could possibly play balls make life difficult for Justin fields and he's not the only guy that whole front seven for Penn state to me is really really really nice well according to FBI Wisconsin has an eighteen percent chance penn state has an eleven percent chance to win the excuse me Todd's right you know what David I'm just trying something. We do okay just this weekend. Michigan Ohio States Threat Right now as Saturday night football game presented by Wells Fargo the top twenty five big ten battle number twenty five Michigan State and number four Ohio state from the shoe in Columbus seven thirty eastern six thirty central all on ABC and the ESPN APP coming up how fast bonus they both have led their teams to five and starts which one has impressed the guy's the most the answer after the break college football is presented by Mazda feel alive no one's been part of more first days of work and Carl Hart and in the same way rookies have to keep earning respect car heart never stops earning the respect of hardworking people like you from building rugged dear. That's tougher than any. I are worst day of work to reengineering the classics to outworked work the future.

Then you do at the very top of the stadium. It's all luck of the draw when you see somebody said if you're up high and you see somebody's sitting on the second row they just got the luck of the draw and computer win. That crowd is not sitting there going. Okay you better make this worth it. Never and when you get to come out to their it turns to a party like that and then the party goes all night long. It's fantastic man because you're never playing a GIG for the GIG itself you're always play in the GIG for the next time you come back. You want to be invited back. And I have shamelessly at the concerts had such a good time like in Notre Dame and just pretty much invited myself back because I'm having the best time in the arena and stadium..
