"I've heard there have been some very, very, very, very, very, very, very preliminary like, okay, we could let more like talks about talking at some point in the future, but some openness to a deal there. And you know, beyond that, I think there are mixed opinions internally and, you know, frankly, externally the opinion I get most often is the rocket should not give him an extension. Well, I mean, look, he locker room issues, including one final outburst, got him out of Cleveland. That's why the rocket's gone for nothing. What happened last year, he left it, he left. Yeah, basically he had a temper tantrum, left the game at halftime. Got to spend. Yeah, it gets to spin and forget. And the one thing I will say about Kevin Porter junior, everybody I talked to in the rockets front office with the rockets coaching staff. They like him. They nobody claims that he is perfect, but they think that they don't think he is a bad guy. They think that, you know, doesn't always react to adversity well to say the least. But they think he's a good guy who, again, doesn't always react to adversity well. And then the other question with him just from a basketball perspective, what exactly is he? I don't think, and nobody I've talked to thinks that he is a legitimate full-time starting point guard for a team that's going to have, you know, for a winning team, can they take that role away from him, bring him, you know, most people that I talk to think that he is, hey, maybe he's like a 6 man type of guy. I don't know if you can transition him back into that kind of role. So I can tell you, he don't want to hear that. He does want to hear that. Exactly. And it's hard to do that when you're the team that said, hey, we want to make you a full-time point guard. So again, I think there's a lot of questions there in terms of fit, reliability, and so on and so forth. By the way, they also we should mention Tori Eason, who they got with the 17th overall pick, which was done. They have Tate, they have Josh Christopher Deshawn Nick garrison Matthews was a big signing. The Kenyan Martin junior thing is really interesting because there's been some reporting that he wants to trade and he's a solid player who's shot league average or better from three the last two seasons can jump out of the gym and defend a lot of positions and they have a cheap team option on him for next season. They're not going to trade him for nothing. I don't care if he's got to fight for a minute. He's an interesting little player. Your point about Kevin Porter junior, you know, I called him the wild card of all this. For exactly all the reasons you said, what position does he play? Is he going to ever defend? Well, well enough to really anchor, not anchor, but be in big, big games. What about his distribution? His shot or past decision making, all that. All that stuff is like, that's real. It's so early, man, that I'm just excited about what they have. And I think what their bet is is point guard schmoyer is Porter green as two kind of combo guards and shenguan is a playmaking center. Does that all kind of add up to a regular NBA point guard and as a bonus we have two, I think green is 6 5 Porter 6 6. They're both long. We have good size, good shooting, Kevin Porter, junior. I think had the best shooting percentage on catch and shoot threes in the whole league last year. Smith is, we'll see what he can give them, but everyone loves that kid. He's the least. He's at least a shooter and a long floor spacer who the expectation is he's going to be a big time plus defender, which makes him kind of the most natural fit of the top three guys if you're looking at I think green shin goon in particular is the core pieces you expect to be in place there for a while. Eric Gordon will get traded at some point for whatever they get. I thought it'd be by now, but they'll get a first round pick for him at some point. And once that happens, they have no one on the roster that makes over $10 million until 2025. And all this pick equity coming in, their own pick is going to be valuable for at least one more season. They could get another top 5 pick or if they get lucky, who knows. Next year, they're just aren't many teams that are this well set up for the future in the whole league. They are ready to be a cap space player as early as next summer, and they're in a market where free agents are going to look at them. This is a market we can draw free agents like this team, Rafael stone, the whole front office, they've gotten lucky in the lottery and all that, but they have pivoted incredibly fast to a situation that I think most NBA fans outside of Houston aren't paying attention. This team is now a sweeping giant in free agency starting next summer and could go from bad to interesting really freaking fast. Yeah, I mean, next summer, they could have up to two max slots available in free agency and whether they end up the plan a

"Not to, but bring them in, put them in there, maybe behind Schroeder and green and Porter and those guys and you'll see what you got, the rest of the season. You really have nothing to lose. So I like this, you know, because guaranteed, it's minimum money, probably after year one. Yeah, absolutely. And so that's something that can obviously if it's a low risk potentially what medium reward here, where if it works out great and if it doesn't, it's not costing you that much. I mean, it could be even higher. It could if he's a super late bloomer, you know, somebody could really really late for them. But yeah, they in just the mechanics behind how they're doing this. They still had a good chunk of their non taxpayer mid level left. So that's what they're going to do. They're going to give a large amount of that to Nick's here as a upfront. This is the second guy now that they've done this with this season because garrison Matthews went this road and Armani Brooks kind of sort of that one was a little weird the way they did the transaction ordering with him. But he was unfortunately waved at the trade deadline. But this does open up a two way spot now for the rocket, so they'll be able to bring somebody else in for the rest of the year there. All right, speaking of two way spots, Caleb Martin gets converted from the Miami Heat. We knew this was coming. Right. Yeah, but still a nice for him catching on somewhere and Miami. He's shown flashes for them. Hey, were you a GI Joe kid? Did you have cartoon? Yeah, I mean like I watched it. It's not like I knew every character or anything like that, but it certainly was. If I was more of a Ninja Turtles guy and before Ninja Turtles, it was he man. So those were kind of like my big ones when I was a kid, but GI Joe was definitely it was definitely in that orbit for me. Do you remember tomax and zeeman? They were the twins. They were businessmen who worked with destro and cobra commander and they were kind of bad guys. I don't, I don't remember that. Okay. So anyway, they were twins and if one got punched the other one felt it. With this. Here's where I'm bringing this up. I promise there's a connection. Caleb Martin right now is out with Achilles soreness. Cody Martin is also with Achilles soreness. Just a little weird, right? To two twins. And if you ever see, this was a thing when they were on the hornets, you had to know which one was which number. Because they look exactly alike. Even more than the worst twins. These two look exactly like. So but yeah, Caleb Martin to swing it all the way back around to him getting his standard deal. 9.5 points this year, shooting 51% from the field 38% from three 4.4 rebounds per game as well. Pretty solid for the heat. So just another guy that he kind of pick up and get in their system and then he pops. If one starts getting hot from the field and it's ready for a heat check, can the other one take it? I don't know. I don't know how they have that kind of a connection. Is that work? They feel each other's pain. You should be feeling each other's good times too, right? So yeah, if I was the hornets and I'm playing the heat and did Caleb's role and I'd get Cody out there or vice versa..

"Him around, I don't think he'd be getting any minutes because you see these short, short benches that email is running during some of these stretches that I don't agree with because if you're a desperate need of shooting, throw Sam Hauser out there for a few minutes throw a hypothetical garrison Matthews out there for a little bit like it would make sense, but I think I would be ripping my hair out if garrison Matthews is on this team because I don't think he would be touching the floor as frustrating as it is. I just think that's the way it is. But I totally agree with you. I think that was an awful decision. And I think it makes no sense. I think there's an element of the Brad school of thought in this front office where like let's stick with the vets. Let's go get a guy like jabari, keep him in there. What is your party Parker do for this roster? Nothing. Like, what does he do? Sure, he'll give you a couple of microwave minutes every two weeks. That's great. That doesn't do a thing. I don't understand keeping him over a versatile shooter. You're not making decisions at the beginning of the year to maximize your two best players. And come halfway point of the season, you're not maximizing your two best players. It's correlated. It makes sense. So I agree, I don't think there was a lot of great decisions being made. Again, it was a weird off season with not a whole lot of flexibility. So I'll be very curious to see what they do. This coming off season because I think that will be the more telling one in terms of how Brad is going to be as a GM and kind of how he's going to go about trying to utilize these guys around Jason and Jalen because it has not been good. Just taking this point to tank, trying to get Paulo, let's get it over with, you know? Hey, like, Jade and ivy is awesome. Tom western home and I have been yelling it for the rooftops. Jade and ivy is great. I think there's a lot of use in the Ted can get this point, but it'll never happen. Yeah, it's Barry Smith, you know, chat, while I was like my dude, but that was fun. I haven't seen it. I haven't seen a lot of jabari Smith yet. Everybody's been talking about it. I got a new spork on that. Jabari Smith is the clear cut number one in my brain right now. He is impressive. Well, we have gone way too long this point. I've kept him from far too long, but I want to think my buddy Chris Fred him here. He is the best for joy to me here on social sort of notice. He is a guy that you can follow on Twitter. Give out your Twitter handle there, Chris. Yeah, just at Chris Brown and you can find my stuff on Forbes and everything on my on Twitter page. So just at Chris Brown. Yep, good. Go there. He put out an article this morning about the game last night. I read it really quickly. Just to scan to make sure I didn't miss anything that he wrote last summer. Make sure.

"You need around jaylen Brown and around Jayson Tatum to maximize their skill sets to give them the space that they need to really raise that ceiling. Purchase is a great guy to have off the bench. He's not going to get into the teeth of a defense like a guy like Dennis schroder is, but you see what happens when you have a guy that gets into the teeth of a defense on his own. That doesn't help jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. Like, that's not really what you're looking for. You know what I mean? And so I totally agree. Marcus smart, he has been really good over the last month, and he is a good point guard. I don't think he's being put in advantageous positions for him to maximize himself at all either. He quickly turned him into a shooting guard in some of these lineups and he's going to play like a shooting guard. That's just the way it is. He's not a great shooting guard. He is a pretty good point guard. I like him as this team's point guard. So I think if you can find a way to keep him as that point guard, then there is something to be said about him having some gravity here with this roster. But it's a small number. I definitely agree it's a small number and I stick with the fact that I think everyone outside of Jalen and Jason needs to be available come this off season. It's just ridiculous. And at some point, do we have a conversation about the front office that people are in the front office? Because everybody's making a big deal about the Desmond Bain thing and like we all knew at the time this was going to be just like everybody saw it, probably doesn't mean it's going to be good because Boston drafted him only to trade him to Memphis off a contract, right? Like we all saw this coming and everybody, like everybody loved death had made pre traffic. The Internet is really right about something, but it seems like the Internet was right to debate. And good for the criticisms are often their fun to watch after them. Don't get me wrong. But like that one hurts. Letting him go. Here's another one that's even more recent than that. Garrison Matthews was out of the team..

"Are we just completely out on like hachimura and Jackson as in Kobe white? So Kobe white was next for me, actually a Kobe white ahead of Nikhil Alexander walker. I had Kobe white, it looks like Kobe white ahead of like Nick claxton. I'm intrigued enough with what I've seen, but I think that, again, he's one of those guys where it's just really, really hard. It's really, really hard. To be that kind of player and make it work in the NBA. And then hachimura, hachimura ended up just being like, for me, the tiebreaker was, hey, he hasn't played this year. I don't know what's going on there. This is a weird situation, it seems like. I'm just not going to go with it. You know what I mean? Darius baisley is another guy. Jackson Hayes has shown some signs this year, like over the course of the last month. And then Caleb Martin, like Kevin Porter junior is obviously in the news for the wrong reasons right now, but it's got office talent. Yeah, I don't know what to do with Kevin Porter junior and Terrence Davis. But once you start once you start to mention like Terence Davis, like, okay, I think we're good here. It might be time to move forward. I'm trying to think if there's any other undrafted O shape or set, had a nice playoff game last year. Garrison Matthews is actually been really good for Houston. Taylor Horton Tucker, but I think the idea of him is still much better than the product we've seen. Yeah, like garrison Matthews, I think I would legitimately take in the top 30. Yeah. He's been really, really good. I think also, I would be remiss and we're gonna end on this note. My dearly beloved. The king of my heart. Max Scherzer. Yes. I was hoping that's what you'd say. There you go. Just the best. The most important person in the NBA masters. He could be. He could be your stunt double. I love max stress. I love him so much. Seth, tell the people where they can find your work. You can find me on the athletic at Seth partn. On Twitter and I am starting a new show actually in about three minutes. And where else the day takes us. Ben Taylor is just the best. I need to get Ben on the podcast. Just a, is there like, it's funny. I mentioned Ben Taylor on the podcast regularly. Like, is there a better person talking about basketball than Ben Taylor? I don't know if there is, I love him. This certainly the most reliable this will be a good conversation people around. Just like such a good person to talk to. Like, I don't even like have like I'm not nearly as close as Ben with Ben as you are. But just the best. Just such a good person. Seth, this has been fun. "Right. That's probably more doable. If he's on board with that, if Philadelphia is on board that, you get a third partner in there. And then when you roll out, he somebody that we talked about offline that can be one of these connectors. And that's what they probably need. It's like the criticism of Ben Simmons is he doesn't want to shoot in the games. The criticism with jaylen Brown and Jason Tatum is all they want to do is shoot at the end of the game, so it is kind of a marriage that could work between those type of guys. I'd like another point card too. I thought maybe Josh Richardson would slide into that role a little bit. I'm not super confident confident comfortable or confident with Marcus smart always kind of taking the ball end of games. And yeah, Ben Simmons would be an attractive piece. I don't know if there are more would go for what our poo poo platter of picks and prospects would be. I don't think that Daryl morey would, but I wonder if there's a world where you can involve like four teams. And you know, can get like a mishmash of things together with other players going elsewhere and kind of things like that and just kind of trying to make it happen as much as anything, but I don't know. We'll see. I think that the Celtics are in a very difficult situation now. The other thing is that they could really upgrade themselves by getting shooting. And I don't think shooting is that hard to find on the market, like the rockets became a much more viable team. Just by playing like garrison Matthews and Armani Brooks and like spacing the court out and actually deciding to play cope here in competent offense, right? And by the way, the Celtics cut like this is salt in the wound because the cell dick Scott garrison Matthews trading can just twisting twisting the light too. He's exactly what they needed. Maybe the answer is playing Sam Hauser, but I don't think Sam Hauser is the kind of movement shooter that cares the Matthews. Yeah. It's just crazy how like the bounces and rolls go with it too. They were talking about this here now. A couple years later, were we a fluke Gordon Hayward injury away from being in the finals and making room for it? Does that make Kyrie less of a malcontent when he was in Boston? Does that, but now sudden we're picking up the pieces and saying, we messed up cutting carrison Matthews. Yeah, that's basketball that's pro sports. Just quickly. Thank you for the front office. But you have to do something. You can't sit in your hands too because beyond that, it's been a tough a tough product to watch it has. And there's a lot of casual Celtics fans that close self expands out there that like I can't watch it, especially in the fourth because you see it slipping away. It turns into one on one basketball. There's not movement because you don't have one of those connectors. So it becomes this side isolation, sidestep three. What are we doing here? We don't defend. We're not fighting through screens. And as much as Marcus smart, I get it that maybe it's time for him to move on. Why people resonate with him in Boston because he plays so hard. He cares. He'll step up for chargers who Dodge loose balls. Does he take some crazy jump shots three times a game where it's no no no yes, yes. Absolutely. Right. But I want guys to kind of bring that intensity more..

"That we might be able to get into a dentist trade segment a little bit here. But like Schroeder is not as good of a three point shooter as Pritchard is. Pritchard extends the geometry way out beyond three point range. So if you're going to and this is eventually where Boston I think would like to go is to have both knee Smith are one of nee Smith and prichard out there with the Jays, they give them more space to operate. That's why Al Horford three point shooter is excellent for those two guys because, you know, again, if he comes out of the three point line, the center just can't sag in the middle of the lane and clog the paint. He said about respect Al. And if Jalen and Jason can expand their playmaking a little bit, there's wide open three pointer potentially there without warfarin. So again, if ideally if those two guys are kind of a Boston needs, right? They need two guys that can really shoot threes. And the hard part is just watching garrison Matthews shoot like a 1 million % from three. With more opportunities somewhere else, like that one that one hurts too. So yeah, the COVID protocols has allowed these two guys to get some more rhythm and more run. And they look good in those times. It's just like, you know, at some point, you gotta be at the competition. And obviously, with its prior history with eBay, he may go with Josh Richardson in rich to display. It's not like Richard is playing terribly, but it doesn't allow for nee Smith to fund any consistency. So basically needs and it's got to be like, oh, yeah. Let me come in and be unconscious off the bench every time you need me, which is like maybe three minutes a game once a week, which is like, yeah, how is anybody supposed to get any rhythm at all whatsoever doing that? Again, this team clearly is in need of a trade somehow. They have to find a way to open up spots. The thing is, Dennis gives them something they don't have. A guy that can truly be guys off the dribble. But Dennis does 18 other things a game that make you want to pull your hair out. And again, I am slowly fading towards that side. However, I will. He's also not going to be back next year. So if you can get something for him, that's the idea there too. So I love Pritchard and his development last year was a huge storyline of the entire season. I mean, everybody in myself included a little van of lead ish, you know? Kind of with the way he could come in off the bench and run an offense and occasionally throw up 20 points. And I'm not talking now, family announced on unbelievable player. But early van fleet, when we weren't sure what he was yet, there's that kind of potential there, and the guy shot 50% in college from 3.3.

"Well, we're gonna talk about Memphis shortly Orlando and the pelicans, the schedule is about to get absolutely hellacious. Brooklyn, Milwaukee, and then 8 of 9 on the road, so a good job banking to wins. Look, they've been really fun to watch in these last 6 games. They benched ties for the most part, started Christian wood is the only big man transitioning Jay Sean taye do I love into a four, which is the position he probably needs to play. The ty's Christian wood pairing is minus one 32 in 309 minutes. It's a disaster. My boy Shen goon gets to fly in as the backup center without any other big men mucking around. And look, it's unavoidable, and it's not necessarily a bad thing, but I don't think it's entirely coincidental that this started to happen as well when Jalen green got her to win out of the lineup. So like really none of what actually matters of this for the rockets in like four or 5 years is unclear Christian wood has, I think, finally stepped into the last 6 games. He's played much harder. He's played better defense, both switching and rim protection. You feel his impact in a way you didn't before. That's good. Kevin Porter junior actually missed the last game. If he progresses and sort of knocks some of that tunnel vision off of his game, that would help. But I'm not sure how much of this actually matters for what the rockets are going to look like at three or four years, but it's been fun. It's been good. I mean, I'm happy for Steven Silas. I'm happy for the players that it's not just the freaking drag because it looked like they had those two games against the thunder and I remember talking to people like if they're one in 20 I just something is gonna happen. You can't be one in 20. It was getting certainly 15 game losing streak that had a 20 game or last year. It was there was absolutely a Jake Fisher from bleacher report reported that there was starting to be concerned about whether Cyrus was the right guy for rebuild remember when he was hired. They were still hoping to hang on to harden. But a 6 game losing streak, that's all that's all gone. Nobody wanted to run off Steven so I was just concerned and I think like I said on the hoop collective last week his seat has gone from heating up to back to room temperature for sure. As far as what actually matters long term, you mentioned jaylen green is missed all but the first quarter of the 6th game winning streak. He did have 11 points in that quarter. But look, Janet green is a 19 year old kid who sometimes can have some good score nice, but he's absolutely lost on an MBA core right now as 19 year old shooting guards tend to be not a long term, not a long term problem. I'm happier if I'm a rockets fan, forget all that. I'm happy that he looks confident taking jump shots and that his explosion and athleticism is like holy real. That's all everything else just wake me up when he's got a couple years under his belt. Yeah, or even maybe late this year, maybe next year. Look at Anthony Edwards. He was totally lost over the last year and is a hell of a player right now. A little bit different physique wise. We're talking linebacker versus ballet dancer, but I think that you mentioned Christian wood him, them going pulling the plug on the two big lineup. We've talked about how funky the Mavs space and has been. The rockets was worse. He's flourished there. Now, why does that matter for the rockets? Does it matter because maybe there's a trade to be made with wood, going somewhere else? Certainly, maybe chit hold wins the rockets starting sooner moving forward or Paulo, I always boss just guys last name to do kid who's an absolute stud. Christian wood maybe he is in Houston for a while longer. Maybe there's a trade to be made there. Eric Gordon has been phenomenal during this winning streak, really being pressed into playing a lot of point guard as well. Eric Gordon is still a guy who can get buckets and guard on the perimeter. In switches still big strong dude who can guard. Maybe there is a contender out there who sees value in Eric Gordon and there's a move to be made there. I think in terms of Kevin Porter's been in and out of the lineup and he still hadn't shot the ball well, but he has shown progression as far as a facilitator. There are actually really happy with his defense all year long. And Jason Taylor has been a stud. I love Jason. I love Jay Sean Tate. A little mini Anthony mason. I mean, he is a 6 foot four, two 30. If he could shoot the three well, he'd really be something he hadn't. That's not come around. But this is a dude who is tough is smart is a crafty playmaker, off the dribble, especially if he's being guarded by fours. You know, granted, it was G league caliber defense, but did have a 32 point game. Against the thunder. And I wrote about him last year in ten things early in the season because you can switch. He can defend in the post because he's strong as hell and you nailed it. He's a good passer and he's a good passer. He can screen catch and pass on the move. I wrote earlier last year he could be a rotation player on a good team back then. He's legitimately good and a really good find for the rockets. And you know he's a second year in BA guy who played overseas for bit before that, but still at 26 years old for rebuilding team. He's a he's a nice piece who has I think has a bright future ahead of him. And again, if we're talking about young guys during this winning streak who have really impressed, he would be at the top of that list. And I mean, I can't believe we're going to talk about this this much. Garrison Matthews has completely changed their team. These aren't a two way deal who's shooting 42% from three. He takes a ton of threes. He draws charges..

"You're probably lost in trouble. When Herman got into the game, I love you. I'm observant. The first minute was just terrifying. I mean, first he turns the ball over. And then he slips, getting back on defense. And then he's going to be shot. It's like it's garbage time. It wasn't garbage time when he got on the floor, the first first stent. I know, especially a decent game. It was actually a decent game. He made me nervous when he's out there. That lineup made sure that this was going to be a decent game for that. 'cause he likes to shoot. He likes to shoot. Yeah, we saw him. The first minutes he had in a long time, right? He had those 5 shots in four minutes, and we're like, Herman, you know, like, pumped the brakes, buddy. You got four other guys on your team. This isn't like who scores the most points gets the next ten day contract. It's not that kind of party. It was like E major final love some content our way. And I wish he was good. Like, you know, I love the Spanish player. So it's national team. 6 million bucks, trade filler there. We love our feet tomorrow. We love those guys, you know? But I don't know. He hasn't even shown a minute of promise here. So is Parker alive? I know when the game was over and I was in one of the media rooms. He was one of the first people that went past me, so I know he's here. He's alive and breathing. By the way, no shower for jabari after the game. Hey, that's out of my zip code. But if he decided not to, I think he'd be okay. Yeah. Okay. Warmed up. You have a shower free Saturday. He's good. Speaking, speaking of Parker, I don't know if you guys have seen but garrison Matthews is killing in a Houston. The guy that the Celtics let go. With Parker. So that's something to keep an eye on around the league at least..

"Yeah, absolutely, yeah. That's exactly it. You can't, you it's yeah. I don't know. I don't really have a lot more to think about with this. I do think it's interesting that I apologize if you set a queer. I'm a little distracted, trying to follow up on a couple of things that are going on right now. But it is won't saying that Philly has no interest in a Kyrie persimmon swap. That also says to teams or they're just like, can we is this guy just going to up and walk away on us? Like, well, what's going on here? So it's kind of is what it is and we're not going to see people, you know, I think really, bend over backwards for Kyrie Irving at this point, just with some of the uncertainty of what is availability might look like. Okay, let's get into some of the moves. There were some surprising ones. And I've got a big picture view of this that I want to get into. But let's get into the drill down a bit here first, and let's talk about some of the moves here that have taken place. We've got the grizzlies, waving Chris Dunn. He's on the way out, so that means Jared Culver and Sam Merrill wind up making their roster. Garrison Matthews was offered a two way contract with the Boston Celtics said, no, thank you. The last couple of years on two way contracts apparently feels like he deserves a full NBA contract. And so he will look elsewhere. There are 9 open roster spots around the NBA, but I don't think many of those teams are looking to use them right now. So be interesting to see what happens with him. I mean, Keith, you're the Celtics guy, any insight into that one? Yeah, it was interesting because when he came in, it was clear, that's what the team wanted to do. I think was have that option open, hey, if you out play somebody here, we'll be happy to keep you on a standard deal. If you don't, you've got to a eligibility. We'll bring in on a two way and a very, very clear. He did not want to. Do that. And that's his right. He outplayed that status last year. I thought he became one of the better shooters in the league, he became a starter for that wizards team. As much as that the bulk of that is owed to Russell Westbrook really playing well down the stretch. When Matthews was inserted in the starting group, they kind of took off too. And then he was a starter throughout the playoffs and the play in and the playoffs both for the wizard. So yeah, I get it with garrison Matthews of, hey, I feel like I've earned a standard deal. I wonder when we're a month or two into the season? Does he relook at that? And there are guys who would rather go to the G league and stay in MBA free agent than sign on on a two way and be kind of stuck with the team. So he may take that approach too and say, hey, I'd rather have a ten day contract when they start in mid January and those kind of things versus getting kind of stuck here. On a two way deal with teams are always looking for shooters. So Matthews has got to feel pretty good that at some point, I mean, who knows? Maybe he's already hearing that a team would be interested..

"But give me the reason it might not be. If it's not the relationship between the Jays, what is going to, if something brings the selfies down this year, what is it? I think it is, I mean, it could be a variety of things. I think shooting number one offensively will be on the perimeter. They brought in a lot of guys. They can hear the ball. They did not bring in a lot of reliable shooters. Shout out to garrison Matthews, who just got that 20th man into camp. I think the odds of him are another shooter making the roster. I think are high because I think you're going to need that when nights when Schroeder or Richardson or smart or whoever is getting all the open threes they wanted and missing them. So they're going to make the team? The hazard is their jam. So he's on two way, so I think he's locked in. So you think there's room for both like a Matthews and Hauser on the face of the team? I think so. I mean, there's a couple guys. There's going to be a lot of competition for that 15th spot. I mean, jabari Parker is obviously in the mix there. But we'll see if they don't feel good about how the veterans, the more experienced guys are shooting in camp that have the question marks. I think that's where you have a shooting specialist tour at the end of your bench. So just to have that option at the end of games because even last year, I feel like who was the reliable shooter on the bench that there was no one. I mean, you wanted nismo through that guy, but he wasn't that guy yet as a rookie. It's prichard, was just a full guy in the rotation. He was already asking, I think almost too much of him at times. They were leaning on him heavily because he was the guy that can count on there. So if they can have a couple more of those guys that aren't really in the rotation, but I think our options to mix in when they need it when they're in a shootout or just want to maximize floor spacing. That's the thing. Again, Al Horford takes me to that too. There was a lot of Al Horford hype today at Cambridge. Even throughout a best shape of his career. His career, 35 years old, rejuvenated brought up the fountain of youth, making a strong case for the starting 5. And that's just the case is strong case. A strong case. So, I mean, for you, Horford, rob Williams frontline is that enough shooting in offense when you have smart.

"They were done, but I was told that archer diacono garrison Matthews and then Theo pinson was another guy that they added as well that they're gonna give they're given these guys real shots to make the team. It is still we're being told, they're still going to bring in Luke cornet at some point. As well and bring him back just that's probably one where they haven't existing relationship with him now. So he can just kind of wait there off to the side until they make some other maneuvering. But as it stands right now, the roster is full. They're at their 20 guys and we'll see you I think Matthews feels far more of a need as a wing shooter than RTD akino or pinson would for the kind of a big ball handling playmaker where RTD akino is kind of a shooting guard. Like a shooting point guard. But clearly, there's still on the lookout for more shooting, and that's the loop cornets calling card. If he comes back, is a big who can stretch the floor. So we'll see what they do. They also haven't been afraid in prior years to eat a guaranteed salary if they really feel like that's the best way to do it is to bring somebody else on. So guys like Bruno Fernando, we'll see if he sticks at the end of the roster. The other thing I was told too is Brad Stevens may not be done yet. He may still be tinkering with this roster. So they're going to really take this down, take a look at a lot of different guys. And if nothing else, handful of these guys imagine their goal is that they go play for the main Celtics of the G league. And that's what we'll see is a cycling through of guys on contracts because that's kind of part of what happens at this time of year. Right? Absolutely. There's a little bit of weirdness with the Clippers. I'm gonna save that for the last one. Let's get to the next one though. Tarik black to the nuggets on a training camp deal. Great guy. Great guy. I had an opportunity to interview him a few times when he was a Laker. Very, very awesome, awesome guy. Undersized during the darkness. Yeah, that was. But undersized center, but plays hard and competes at the basket. He's a guy who I don't know if he ultimately sticks with the roster or non has spent a lot of time playing overseas, but a good guy competes hard on every end of the floor. He winds up being a fan favorite just because of how much energy he puts into every single play. Yeah, my guess is he's probably not going to stick around. They've got to Michael green, Jeff Green, still have bulbul. They have Zeke naji. That's a lot of bigs on that team. But my guess is they're bringing him in with the idea of hey beat these guys up a little bit over the next few weeks in camp. We'll have they don't have their own G league team yet. So actually I take that back and do have their own team now. If I make sure I'm saying this, right, they do, because they have its Phoenix in Portland who don't, gosh, Grand Rapids is the nuggets GUE team. So they do have a GUE team, but we'll see if that's the direction he wants to go or not. But for right now, camp deal and he'll be there to kind of do some stuff. The Grand Rapids drive is the nuggets. They might have changed the name. I apologize. I'm a little bit behind on my G league. NASA right now. But yeah, it'll be interesting to see what they did, but I think this makes some sense..

"What the wizards this offseason Because they can build on this foundation and this is like as we've talked about more good players you know as you say they go deep now like now you will go down and it's sometimes there's that's the trick to this. How many times do i have to play a player that the really hurts me out on the court and so they have yes they have less star power but better accumulation of talent to say the least their deep man. I mean are good last year. So what does it out of course. What does it matter. I was looking at their roster last night. And i was just kind of trying to figure out the depth chart and i mean so you got herrell. Hachi more bertone's bill dinwiddie potential. Starting five bench could potentially be gathered. Kuzma kiss bird caldwell-pope netto that's five guys. What about what about holiday like. That's another to thomas. Brian at some point comes back. You know garrison matthews who played last year suddenly is way out of the rotation in so like this is a at least twelve deep in terms of guys who get nba rotation minute so i. I wonder how they're going to trim that down to nine or ten on most nights. This episode is brought to you by three m three m has always been driven to improve lives with science and innovation. "The Warriors. Cutting a little bit off there. That the Jazz taken a little money on. Good for the Jazz though because when they did the favors trade, it was looking like, are they going to pay the tax or how willing are they to go deep into the tax and then they added Rudy Gay page now traded for Pascal. I think they did pretty good. Yeah, so people are asking about the five teams trade, go back and watch the show after we're done. We already talked about that, so, yeah, exactly. So, who's left? Yes. Let's get it into, who's left on the market, actually. Let's just, let's just run through some of the guys and then took it into obviously, sure. Yeah. So point guards, Reggie Jackson, Dennis Schroder Lou Williams net. So we can take him off the board. Now, so returning to Washington, then you get into Alfred Payton, Brad Wanamaker, Frank ntilikina Dennis Smith Jr. So, you're getting down to it. They're Jackson situation is basically what a team told me today was I said why is someone going to Jackson with their mid-level and they said we we could buy it there. Just hanging up there on the early bird contract and go. It's almost like teams are treating him a little like a restricted free agents where it's a good person would just be too cuz the Clippers can't afford to lose him, especially without Kauai. Yo not know what's going on with that situation. Speaking of he's still a free agent so as we like to say here, on the front office job, Why does things on Kauai time? Yep, so it might be September before I signed a new contract. I did this might interesting. Now, I'm a couple of interesting Wing, players Kelly oubre, Jr. And Danny Green, guys, I think could still help help teams who bury. Especially, I'm starting to wonder much, like with Dennis Schroder. Where's the home going to be for him cuz there's just not that much money left out there. He's coming off some decent money. Josh Hart restricted. Good get interesting if they wanted to do a sign-and-trade. Yeah, I think am interested in him. Yeah, good player Avery Bradley, still out there. You have solid Defender. Probably at this point, minimum may be what's left of of a big exception for from a team. It's a lot of places, hamidou Diallo, restricted, free agent, who I really like Detroit's going to re-sign him keep in in the fold with their young core JJ Redick wingshooter Wesley Matthews the Lakers off Still out there and then a couple of restricted guys. Garrison Matthews and Old Friends, V mykhailiuk own outside another shooter. James Ennis from the magic out there, just walk ins low. That one's interesting $13 team option declined and he's not getting anything near that now in this market. So my guess is he takes a minimum deal with a good wage. I don't know if it'll be a contender because they don't know that he wants to sit. I think it'll probably be a gay, a good playoff team, where he can go and get some minutes. They're up front, Paul Millsap. Still out there and the Box. The Box should be on the phone daily with oubre JR, or Millsap. Yeah, just saying you want. Do you want the taxpayer mid-level know and just say, whoever takes one plus one? Or you have, that's it. Yeah. One plus one opt out at the end of the year, great. They're both of those guys would be great for the Box. Death was Lauri markkanen still out there were strong Free agent who's been some talk. Maybe the Bulls would love to do a sign-and-trade but probably not going to happen at this point with him..

"One that happened with guys like isiah stewart last year. Where we're like. I guess people like him. I don't know and then you know he probably is one of the thirty best players going forward in that class And so i'm just you know kind of it's kind of fading myself and picking a big that. I will feel stupid about if i don't. I'm very happy. We got jackson off work. For that reason words. I do like a lot. The shot looks ridiculous but it goes in that matters. And i think on the role as you laid out in washington is very simple. He can fill like watching them. Play the section in the first round last year israel as a date have won any got hurt but they have one person who was between six six six eight and play goal where we actually want and i do. Yeah there's a lot of garrison matthews lot garrison matthews a little bizarre six foot. That i guess bert times between six and six eight i guess he counts but like okay so i guess average. Yeah yeah he. He doesn't really have that. Like wing thing has going for him. We're also worried about 'davis playing nominee contract. Yeah that's a fair concern. I think you'll be better than last year. And i think he was actually like probably not worth five years eighty last year. But i don't know. I don't know what to say about davos bertone's I do know that they desperately need help at the three and probably could use another like solid big man so nothing too crazy. Just kind of stay in the course for the washington wizards. I have the clippers at twenty five. I'm going bones highland. You could say that this is very much a reaction to seeing how important reggie jackson was to their offense and you know it is a little bit of that and i don't know of reggio beyond the team next year but even regardless of that just like when everybody has to dribble a little bit give me the dynamic six three guard Who can shoot off the catch. Shoot off the dribble. Do a little bit of everything on offense Don't know what the defense will be. But you have you know. Paul george leonard marcus morris terrence man you have dudes where he can just like guard the one defensively but not have to do everything you expect from that primary creator That often is the one So that's kind of where. I'm at with a bone thailand Yeah just gives clippers and other guy who puts the ball in the hoop which seems to be their mo. I love this. I just love sequel toll from anywhere. It's very cool. And you know. He's not quite camp thomas but he gets the line shipped on clippers operate where they have a lot of space if they're gonna continue this kind of five outlook. Yeah and it is kind of a bpa for me a little bit as well. So as soon as i realized he was available at twenty five. I'm leg-up annually consider anyone else. Maybe you could say like someone like deuce mcbride. Good fill that pat beverley role but like. I don't know if beverly needs to fill that pack. I've role honestly Unless it's like a specific matchup needs to slow down at devon booker type. So they give you a break from begging. I am the denver nuggets.
