"Special. He leaves me presents on the floor. Every day when I get home, all right? And we let him out, we take him for a while. He's getting older. What? He's getting older. He is getting, but he's been doing this his whole life. That's not an excuse. Like, he's never learned and then what happens is we put him in a crate. We were like, you know what, we can't do this. He's pooping in the house. We're just gonna put him in a crate while we put him in a crate. He like breaks his teeth and stuff, 'cause he was chewing at the bars while we were gone and then he poops. He pees, he pukes in the crate, and then he rolls in it. So we get home and he's a poop dog. And we got to give him a bath. So it's better just to pick up the turds when you come home. It doesn't even try to eat it too. Oh yeah. Yeah, sometimes you'll see like a tiny little turd and you're like, gee, I want to wear the rest of that one. Remember when my dog picked up your dog with her mouth? Yeah, that's what happens when you have a 60 pound dog and a ten pound dog in the same house. So neither of my dogs really give kisses copper dog. He never gives kisses. Maybe like twice ever I've gotten kisses from him. He just doesn't give anybody guesses. And steal occasionally well, but yeah, neither reminder really kissing dogs. You're on the 48% side. Yeah. I guess so. All right, jump into fantasy time. We're gonna do a little stardom sitting for I can't believe we're already at week four, almost a quarter of the way through. I guess that's different now because we're what 17 games. But my start at quarterback this week is going to be someone I probably wouldn't have guessed to start the year. It is going to be Marcus Mariota. And it's solely because he has, in my opinion, some of the better young weapons in the league. Cow pits, finally got the ball a little bit last week. Calling for him to get the ball, the previous couple of weeks, and then I said that the rookies are down, the exception to that is Drake London, Garrett Wilson, and Chris olave and Drake London happens to be on the falcons and is having a monster a year. And Cleveland is a bottom third past defense so far. I think there are ranked 20 seconds. So my start is Marcus Mariota. I have something to support that that sounds pretty wild, but would you believe that the second highest over runner of the week is Cleveland at Atlanta?

"Gotta see it. Got to see it. And we've got to see why he was chosen second overall. Gotta see it. Gotta see him. Hitting his back foot and getting rid of the football on time. Gotta see it. Gotta see him, rolling out. And creating problems for the defense because that's what he can do and Joe Flacco can't. Gotta see it. Gotta see him, they can come back like Joe Flacco didn't week too. Gotta see it. Gotta see him. Hitting the open receivers so they can get the yards after the catch that this offense is built to provide. Gotta see it. And gotta see him play all four quarters. Gotta see him get out of bounds when he should gotta see him slide when he should got to see it. And gotta see it now. We do preach patients on this program, how many times I say we're a marathoning, we're not spreading. But this team drafted breece hall, and he's putting in some nice work for the first three weeks. We haven't seen Jonathan Taylor likeability, words that I heard during the draft week. And subsequently, but we'll see. Seeing Garrett Wilson become a difference maker, week two that come back wouldn't happen if it was in fact Garrett Wilson. Oh, aging in the face of the browns fans. Saw that, got to see that again, got to see Elijah Moore still doing what he's doing, got to see it. Yes, got to have block in up front. Yes, you got to have the receivers running the routes. You got to have the running backs hit the holes and you got to have the defense plane way better than they're playing sauce gardener. One of our favorites. It's made a lot of rookie mistakes. A lot of rookie mistakes through the first three weeks, a lot of blown assignments from number one. In your program, number one in your heart. We're marathoning. We're not sprinting with the rookies, but Zack's not a rookie anymore. The guy has played some. And he has watched a lot. And let's see what he has learned watching a lot. Let's see if we can find the ceiling being mahomes as Tony Romo said, man who's known for calling his shots accurately. When Zach Wilson was drafted, it's time. And I'm excited, and I just can't hide it. Yes. I went that way. You know, you know, you know, and you think you like it? Well, I'll find out. Okay. Against the Steelers team that's putting Mitchell trubisky out there again. Many buy did not shake Mike Tomlin off his belief of its trubisky's offense and it's going to get better. And he seemed better plays. On offense, he's seen better execution on offense, not seeing points in the end zone, I guess, but it's apro sure part two didn't go very well in part one with Matt Jones and the Patriots coming to town. Now here comes Zach Wilson and everything that we jets fans dreamt of at the draft with breece hall being added and Zach Wilson having now Garrett Wilson, another Wilson on the offense. It's time to see it. We're going to see it and I can't wait to see it. And it can't be a struggle. Can't be a struggle, can't be this kid can't see this, can't see that. Because guess what? Year two, Trevor Lawrence is certainly come out of the box nice and fresh. Offensive player of the week? Oh, I didn't see that. In the American football conference? Nice. Trevor Lawrence just took three weeks for him to have that type of performance. And I know Zach, this is just week one for him. I'm not saying I need to see AFC player of the week type material. I just need to see better. And I'd like to see a win. I'm gonna lie. The team with an alpha. Who's offense would you take? accuracy on that Sunday. I would take the jets. And that's a manhole cover that man just threw around right there, folks. I would take him too. So they got to win the game. And the defense has got to show up. So, with all due respect to coach solid saying what he just said, which is it's more of a team effort, true fact teen game got it. There is no eye in jets. Understood. Again. It's time. Here we go. You got a tough division. You could say the two best teams in football are the teams they're looking up at in that division. That's an argument that could be posited and backed up through three weeks. Got to go. Unless you just swallowed it, it's just another year that we're just going to, we're just going to have to see what's what? Because I'll tell you what. Wildcard is wide open through three weeks in the AFC. Wide, open. Through three weeks, AFC west isn't nearly as tough as everyone thinks as it appears. And the AFC south, second place team is one one and one. The 8th seed right now. Okay. And you look at the AFC north, that's a tough spot. That's a tough division, but if you can go two and two in it, which the jets would, if they beat Pittsburgh, that's not too shabby. So you have to figure of the three wildcard spots in the AFC. One's going to go to whoever doesn't win the AFC east. And the other two, up for grabs, totally, and completely up for grabs. And if you're battling for a 7th and final playoff spot, come top of January 2023 and you could put on the table a tie break against the Pittsburgh Steelers, got to do it. This week, let's go. Richard 7 seed if the playoffs started today. Buffalo Bills. And you know where they'd be playing this weekend? At your two seed, Jacksonville. Okay, very good. That's a snapshot. Let's see. If in 14 weeks, it's similar. I will, I will proper to say it is not. All right, let's go to break. I wouldn't move. Don't move. Don't move. There's no dial, even if you had one, you wouldn't touch it. Deion Sanders is about to join us. And I know wherever he is. Whatever, you know, whatever media tour he's doing for restore, he knows whatever he whoever he's talked to before and wherever he's about to talk to on this media tour, it will be nothing like the conversation he's about to have and he knows it. He feels it and he's going to bring it and I am ready to defend my baldness ish because he knows I'm also wavering. Which is not a way for me to prepare for this thing. Oh gosh. Wavering. Rich. 8 four four two O four rich being the number dial, brockman staring a hole in me saying the bald brotherhood. This man is a traitor. Why would I talk to a traitor? We've already had one, Brian or walker. Deion Sanders coming up next one of my favorites. Don't move. Let's talk sleep number people. My sleep number setting is 60. My wife's is 70. "So I did that episode. I recorded what I had. Here we are recording part two of that episode. Today I want to go through each division in the AFC and I'll share who I believe is the best team in each division. It's a fun exercise member. The Aussies and moves are now basically all done rosters are pretty much finalized. We got a couple more moves that will happen in the next couple months, but I want to set our expectation levels now and then for the next month and a half roughly we'll dive into film and do a lot of film analysis content. And then early early August end of July, roughly we'll start getting into pre season predictions, but let's set our expectations now. These are the teams that I think are the best in each division in the AFC. Let's start out east. Who is the best team in the AFC east? I think the answer is rather obvious. But let's take our time getting there, it is not the New York Jets. I like what the jets are doing. I think they're headed in the right direction. And honestly, I feel kind of bad for the jets because I think they're scheduled is brutal. They're a young team. There's a lot of exciting young names. You got Zach Wilson, Elijah Moore, Garrett Wilson, Quinn and Williams, John Franklin Myers, Jeremiah Johnson, and that's just a few of the guys to be excited about on the jets roster. But let's be clear. Despite a couple of exciting names and maybe hope for a couple of years from now, everyone knows even jets fans, the jets are not the best team out east. Now, what about Miami? Miami is interesting. They got a new coach Mike mcdaniel. They've got a new star receiver tyreek hill. He's going to be paired up with jaylen wild two as a quarterback. We got a new offensive system. Miami's intriguing. I'm really excited to watch mamie, but excited to watch them. It's different than they're the best team of the division..

"All right, so Drake London is so good. He can compare himself to a car. Matt Miller is so good, he can compare us, compare rookie wide receivers to veteran wide receiver, so let's do it Matt, take some of these draftees and go through them and make a pro comp. Starting with that aforementioned Drake London. Yeah, I love Drake London. He is my top receiver in this draft. And I see Mike Evans, especially Mike when he was coming out of Texas saying him. If you remember, he was this player that lined up sometimes in the slot. Sometimes outside, but was a super sized wide receiver prospect. Drake is great at the catch point. He's a weapon in the red sun as somebody. People will say, oh, he doesn't separate, you don't have to. You could sky point the ball you could separate with size and with that leaping ability. So I do think like Mike Evans, he's going to be a red zone nightmare in the NFL. And somebody that I think will make a day one impact wherever he's drafted next year. Now one of the most polarizing players who got a Ben Simmons comp from my tea is Derrick stingley junior who I come to Marshawn latimer. Remember Marshawn had some injury concerns coming out of Ohio State but had that great final season where he flashed ball Hawking skills. He has the speed to mirror and match with wide receivers down the field and in somebody that I think can become some of the flips of field in the NFL has the instincts, the awareness and the timing to really be a shutdown corner when healthy. So stingless ceiling is absolutely through the roof and I do think he could be that first corner drafted. Now the player we're talking about is potentially the number one overall pick. It's hard to find a cop for travon walker because he is 6 5 two 71 and ran a four 5 40 yard dash. We don't see that very often, but I think we'll play style perspective. Frank Clark, somebody who uses his link very well. Someone who can stun past blockers with his first step quickness now travon has more inside ability we'll see him kick inside and rush from a three technique at times, but if he's playing as a true four three defensive end, I think someone like Frank Clark with that link and first step burst is what travon walker hopefully can be. And finally, we can't do comics without some quarterbacks. Can you pick it? I see some of it could be light Kurt cousins. He's never going to have the strongest arm in the NFL. He's never going to be the most mobile, but someone who can get it done from a rhythm based offense with his underneath accuracy. I think Kenny actually is a little more athletic, a little more mobile than Kirk was especially coming out of college, especially where he's at now in his career, but I do think Pickett in the right scheme guys could be a productive starting quarterback if he has some weapons around him like cousins has in Minnesota. And cousins are certainly made himself plenty of money along the way. Can you pick it with? I'm sure love to follow that path. Let's stick with the quarterbacks. Matt, you only have two of them going in the first round of your latest mock draft is now out today. That would be the fewest quarterback shrapnel in the first round. Since 2015, might as a panther is trading back to pick ten, collecting Kenny Pickett there and then Malik Willis going to pick number 20 to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Matt corralled with the next quarterback take. And that'd be the sea auction second round with pick 40 and then three picks later, the falcons select Desmond Ritter. So let me ask you, Sam, do you think that Malik Willis last until pick number 20? It feels like such an obvious match between he and the Steelers. It looks like a perfect match. I don't know if he'll last all the way till 20. You look at Malik Willis, and what do you get frustrated by? You say, okay, man, he played old miss. The biggest game of the year. We all had that game circle. He got sacked 9 times. All those sacks, they run his offensive line. You turn on the other games, and he's dominant. He's making place. He's not the tallest, like biggest guy, but when he moves, he moves like Ben Roethlisberger, a hard guy to bring down. Then you talk about his accuracy. He's an accurate quarterback. He's got great touch, especially down the field. So it's a great fit for Pittsburgh. I just don't know if he will last all the way till 20 Matt. I love to hear your comments. I want to hear Matt's comment on Malik Willis. That'd be something I should have asked him. We'll get there in a second. Earlier in the earlier block I should ask. My team, what have you got? Well, what's so interesting about this year, I see Kenny Pickett going 6 to Matt rule, who he recruited when he was the head coach at temple, and when Matt rule thinks about I either have Sam darnold or Kay pick up maybe Baker Mayfield. That's why I think Kate Pickett goes 6 now, maybe they can trade back. I doubt it. And then Malik Willis at 20, that's a massive drop off, but right now most teams don't think they have to trade up for a quarterback, and I don't see another team that needs a quarterback between 6 and 20. So it's a very unusual year to see just two quarterbacks go at the top 20 and such a big divide between going all the way from 6 to 20 to seeing that next quarterback go. Yeah, Mike, I think that is probably one of the most interesting points in this draft is where just the run on quarterbacks happened because if the New Orleans Saints surprise us and take one at 16 or 19, will that run could star earlier? Does the team try to trade back into the first round to get the 5th year rookie option rookie contract option on a player like Desmond Ritter or Matt crowle or even Sam how from North Carolina, whose name was generating a lot of buzz. So we're sitting here two days away and trying to figure out where the landing spots are for these quarterbacks. That is what makes this year really unique. And Sam, I'm glad you asked because I went Jalen hurts with the Malik Willis cop. We could get into it off air because it's a longer conversation. You know, it's interesting Matt though, when you look at the history of the 32nd pick, teddy Bridgewater, Lamar Jackson, two quarterbacks at one 32nd overall. I agree with you. I think the last pick of the first round will be a quarterback. Now, assuming Detroit doesn't take one at the top of the first round, I think they take one at 32 or a team maybe in the mid 30s comes up. For exactly what you said, Matt to get that 5th year option, which is so immensely valuable for a rookie quarterback. By the way, if you're looking for more on Matt Miller's quarterback comparisons, you can watch the SportsCenter special highlighting all of the quarterbacks at 7 p.m. Eastern Time tonight. Here on our ESPN networks. Matt, let me go back to you though on the Atlanta Falcons after I get my shameless plugin. Devin Ritter, you had them taking 43rd overall. Is there any consideration for you at pick 8 for the Atlanta Falcons and how strongly do you feel that they are going to have to walk away with at least one quarterback in this year's draft? If Mayfield 8 is too rich for Desmond red or a player I like, you know, a player that we had on this show, not that long ago. So I do think that he can become a starter with the inaccuracy issues have to be fixed. So drafting him at 8, you're saying, you're the future of this franchise. I haven't seen that from him. I would feel much more comfortable in the early second round. I will throw out there. We get closer to the draft. You have to keep it on the Tennessee Titans and Desmond redder though. Mike vrabel's best friend, Luke fickle. Head coach at Cincinnati. So there's definitely some connection points to where it could be a surprise late first round pick with Ryan Tannehill 33 years old and only one more year on his contract currently. Yeah, I'm really excited about that. It'll be interesting to see where Desmond rider goes. Obviously people have talked about Pittsburgh within the other conversation is people know that Pittsburgh is excited about Willis. I just want to know what's going to happen. We're two days away from this draft. And there's so much conversation. We've had these conversations about trades that may or may not happen. I can not wait to see what happens in T minus what do you say? 48, maybe 50 hours, something like that. I wasn't there, Sam. I think it's the quarterback, the quarterback of the quarterback. What happens? We know the first two are going to go, but do two more sneak in, Ritter, corral, to Sam how make it make it 5. I think it's fascinating that as Matt said, we're 48 hours away, and there's massive question marks around the quarterback. Can not wait to see how it all shakes out. And a reminder that NFL live, the entire crew heads out to Las Vegas tomorrow, Laura, of course, holds it down and anchored the coverage with our entire crew and I am being told, 51 hours till the 2022 NFL Draft, ESPN has the coverage. "Days to be more specific, 52 hours until the Jacksonville Jaguars are officially on the clock from lost, Vegas. And with that, we say hello, welcome to NFL live. Say macho in person right next to me, I am field yay, great to have you here. Good to be here. Good to have someone right next to me in studio and good to have our crew left to right. Diane rossini, Mike tannenbaum, and Matt Miller, a packed show over the next hour. And we are so close, Mike. We can feel the buzz of the NFL Draft. And I want to know which pick you are most excited to see come Thursday night. Oh, feel for me. That's easy. That's Jameson Williams. The talented wide receiver from the university of Alabama field in the biggest game of the year before the championship game, the SEC championship game. He was unbelievable. Georgia couldn't defend him. He changed the game, and if he was healthy, he could be the first pick in the draft. I still expect him to go maybe in the top 12, but to me he is the next tyreek hill when healthy. I'm excited to see what the Houston Texans do at number three. Yes, they also have number 13. They could make some moves, but they need some help on their defensive line, specifically 28th overall defense. Last year, could Trayvon walker be available at that number three spot, if not, could cave on timbo be available at that number three spot, guys who can get after the quarterback, guys who can affect offenses. I'm excited what Houston does. I can not wait. There will be a problem in Houston. Now you guys are such suckers for the top of the draft. There's a lot more to this out of the top ten, like the Kansas City Chiefs, right? We know Tyree kill is no longer there. We heard head coach Andy Reid and even Patrick Mahomes basically say they don't really think there's gonna be a lot of difference. I don't know. I'm not really buying that. It's tough to replace tyreek hill. So what are they going to do? Are they going to move up in this draft to go get a receiver or state path there and perhaps come up with a big defender? So I'm interested to see what the chiefs decide. I'm also interested to see what the choose to die in about. How about the intrigue at number one overall? What do I have to wait very long on Thursday night to see what the Jacksonville Jaguars do potentially spin this draft around an entirely will it be travon walker? Will it be 8 in a Hutchinson, maybe a surprise, even like icky aguano, but I know we're all kind of sitting here waiting to see what actually happens with Trent balky and Doug Peterson on the clock and Jacksonville. Yeah, the first time they're making a pick as a new regime mat of course. The second straight year, though the Jacksonville leads off the draft, not as much, I would say last year we knew it was happening, right? It was certainly from the very beginning, they're taking Trevor Lawrence, but Mike, let me ask you, if the Jacksonville Jaguars do in fact draft Trayvon walker number one overall, would you like to pick? No. One production with our level of pick overall. And he only has 6 sacks and healing played 52% of the snaps of defensive end. We don't want a projection with the number one overall pick. We want certainty and there's a lot of great things to love about Trayvon walker, but certainly isn't one of them. Well, Mike T, here's the issue with that. He played 52% of the snaps because George's defense say consistently rotated their defensive lines. They have some dogs literally on that line. Guys like Nolan Smith, who is at the top number one overall, a high school athlete coming out. They have so many dominant players. So that's why there was so much rotation. Now, I don't think Trayvon walker should be the number one overall pick. I like 800 production over Trayvon walker. But when it comes to being a dominant football player, talking about technique, talking about playing all over the field, three technique, dropping into coverage, affecting the quarterback in the backfield, Trayvon walker is that dude. But the question is, can that translate to always being a Russia in the NFL on the edge? I don't know if it will at the number one overall pick. Yeah, so I think that is the biggest question right now is you're betting on upside your bedding on almost physical traits over production on the field which 8 and Hutchinson had a ton of. We look at trevon walker. Yes, he turned it on against Michigan and Alabama in the college football playoffs, but Ken Jacksonville put him in a similar situation to have success, opposite Josh Allen. They have invested a lot in their defensive line the previous regime did with Caleb on chase on also being a first round pick at LSU. So I look at this trevon walker. It's the upside pick versus the more sure thing in Aidan Hutchinson. It's tough for me to get on board with because we just don't know what type of player walker will be when he's asked to play all three downs. It's something he never did at Georgia. Not saying he can't do it, but it's definitely something we haven't seen him do. And that type of risk at the top of the draft would be really tough for me to get on board with. When you have a proven player like Hutchinson sitting right there. But walker does in fact land number one in Matt Miller 7 round mock draft, which is now available on ESPN dot com. Perhaps the biggest surprise of that draft, at least in the early picks, is Derek stingley junior going third overall in the Houston Texans. Sauce gardener has been the first quarterback off the board and a lot of mock trash recently, but Matt has garnered going to the jets. We're going to trade up in a projected trade with the Panthers number 6 overall. So Matt right back to you, why do you have Jerry singling going third overall of Houston, Texans? Yeah, I think we're mock drafts. Those of us who do these for a living, you have to always remind people, it's what you're hearing, not always what you would do. And I think the connections from the Houston Texans to Derek Stanley junior throughout the past week is something that I've heard nonstop folks at LSU told me no team has done more work on Derek Steele junior. They have an obvious need at the corner position. They really have an obvious need almost everywhere, but quarterback and left tackle right now though. So I think the Texans can stay pat and take a player who were he healthy, would be one of the best players in this draft class and throughout the process has proven he's medically ready and he's ready to be back to that player that we saw dominate in 2019. The concern with Derek stingley is durability. He's played one full season of going back to his freshman year while the talent is undeniable. We don't know what we're getting and look no further than Ben Simmons and the Brooklyn Nets. He comes over in a high profile trade for James Harden, never plays the nets get swept and the people that are actually making the decisions come Thursday night are humans and they're going to be influenced by recent events and when you talk to some people around the league, people knows what happened or didn't happen in Ben Simmons case where he wasn't available. So hopefully Derek stingley has a great career in this injury bug is behind him, but when you think about him compared to someone like sauce garter who didn't miss a game at Derek stingley, again, only played one full season. That will be a factor in determining who goes first between stingley and garda. Well, Mike T, hopefully these humans were watching film of Derek stingley as opposed to watching the NBA playoffs because if you watch the film of Derek Stanley junior, he is a dominant force when he's on that football field freshman year he was dominant literally every time he put on the tape, you just you're in awe. Like you think about guys like Patrick Peterson got who played at LSU right TRE davious white. All these different guys who were dominant. He followed in that same line. And so for me, I get really, really excited about Derek stingley junior not just because what he did in his pro day and his 40 time and how smooth he looked in his drills and being healthy, but the type of football player is a type of technician. He is his eyes are always in the right place at the right time. That's why he's always affecting the game in a dominant way. You know, who would have thought that Ben Simmons, by the way, was going to make it into NFL live, that highlight package we have cut up right there. This involved much on court.

"Prospects? That could be gone because I think they'll take an offensive lineman if they're available. That's who I'm putting in my mock. A defensive end. Is cave on thibodeau not one of their most half prospects? Is Charles cross not want to have one of their must have prospect? I don't know who would be gone after 5, 6. So this just some food for thought. I asked Jack Android my NFL network research colleague who will be next to me at the draft off camera. I asked him, I want the longest it's got drafts have gone without a quarterback being taken top 5 top ten top 15. The last time none were in the top 5, ten or 15. In a draft. Was 2013 when EJ Manuel was the first off the board at 16, which is not the best indication of how good the quarterback draft is going to be this year, if that's how long it goes. That may be a fair or unfair assumption that's up to you. None of the top 20, the last time there were none in the top 20. 1997, there were none of the top 25 that year. Steve mariucci finally ended that streak by taking good old Jim drunken Miller. Druckenmiller pardon me. I'm a little drunk in Miller myself. 26th overall, the last time none were in the first round, 1996 when Tony banks went to the rams. In the second round, 42nd overall. The longest it's ever been for a quarterback to be selected in the draft. Could you imagine if this happens here? 76th overall in the third round when the colts took Chris Chandler in 1988 then. Those are your benchmarks. For a draft that we've been talking about for months that is not a quarterback draft and might not have one taken at the top. Of course, the Chris brockman TJ Jefferson Randolph and mortimer duke bet times 20 as to whether Kenny Pickett's a top 5 pick in this year's draft, we'll get the answer to that in a couple of days. Brockman says, yes. No, I think you're going to get the 20 bucks DJ. I'm thinking so. And it's an in terms of whether the picks matter or not. I guess we'll find out one day. The ramps don't pick until a 104th overall. Oh my goodness. Third round. It's the second comp pick that they got for the lines hiring Brad Holmes is the general manager last year. The longest a defending Super Bowl champ has ever gone without selecting a pick in the NFL Draft was your 2017 New England Patriots, Chris. When they took Derek rivers 83rd overall, that's the latest pick by the reigning Super Bowl champs ever. Just food for thought as I had out the door. "It was kind of early. I took my first visit up there and I was silently committed and I kind of already committed to a different official visit so I took that one as well. But I was finally committed for a while and I mean, you did a great job recruiting. It was never really in doubt. I felt like I felt like you kind of always knew that I was going to be a book on. Garrett Wilson here on the rich eisen show. Which of the many Ohio State receivers that are in the NFL have you had a connection with Garrett Wilson? Yes, I would say I would say Terry Ben Vick KJ hill are the ones that I'm closest with. So I played with KJ hill and Benjamin Victor. KJ's with the Chargers Benz with the ravens right now. And then Terry does a great job of talking to the young guys when we came in. So he had just graduated when I got there, but he still was around the program a lot. I always comes around and drops knowledge on the young guys. What about Chris Carter? You've never heard from Chris. Chris ever reached out to you? I think he came around one time, but I've heard from a few time on Twitter. He's always supported me. Ever since the day I committed to a higher state actually so. Yeah, he's mister ohana state. There's no doubt about that. But all right. So where do you think you're going? Give me an idea. What do you think, Gary? Where do you think you're going? Where do I think I'm going? Yeah. I can't say that. I don't know. I don't know. I know as well as anyone else knows. You know, I kind of just do my visits and put my best foot forward, I feel like I did a good job finishing out my pro day the way I wanted to. From then, it's kind of just been out of my control. I just have been going through day by day and trying not to worry about trying not to think about it too much. You know, it's a blessing to be here. I just kind of looking at it and I'm going to NFL and wherever I end up, it will be a blessing. So where did you visit then? Let me try and suss it out for you. Where did you visit Wilson? I visited a Washington Baltimore Ravens. New York Jets, what about the Giants? Not to giant. Not the Giants. What's their most function? Okay. All right, maybe the Travis. Who else? And then there's one more. Lines of Carolina. Would you have a problem playing football in the state of Michigan, Gary? The robberies on the week 12 of each season. What is a week 13? One of those weeks, we live it out through always, I don't really like the team up north, but I got to help this. I got to help my team out and if I was in Detroit, you know, that didn't change anything. Yeah, but what state is Detroit and Gary? What state is Detroit? I forget. I can never really get it. I don't remember. I just know Detroit. I mean, you know, if you do play there, Garret you're going to have to write your name and address down somewhere, like you're not going to put a red X on your paperwork, are you? So what you're going to do? So if it was game week, I would. I would actually would put a red X and just put it in my, but the rest of the week is going to be at the MI. As long as I don't have to write it out fully, I'm all right, but I'm the red X would what happened during game week. Oh my goodness, gracious. So is that part of the reason why you're doing old spice? Because there's no M and old spice? Part of the reason why you're hooked up with them? You could say that. You can say that. What are you doing with them? With old spice? Yes. Yes. You know, the big thing I'm doing is working with them throughout this draft weekend. It's a great product. It's a product I've been using since I was 5 years old, 6 years old since I started using deodorant. No one had to sell me on anything. I love the product and they got this new great product owed by sweat defense drive spray, which gives me 24/7 reputation with daily use so I can concentrate on learning my new playbook. I'm not worried about my hygiene. Okay. Being a player that's huge for you. Listen, Garrett, I've seen you play. You've disappointed me on occasion with your play on certain Novembers. I know you play like a grown ass man, but you use deodorant when you were 6. I mean, come on, wow, that's impressive, Garrett. I mean, that might have been a little bit over. When I started using deodorant, I think it was like 8 or 9..

"I think they went to spam. I should probably check that. But I checked your spam folder. Spelling sometimes rich. Even after I was in my office, there's a bunch of umlauts and till days and ampersands, and I can't read that thing either. I'm so nervous about that. I'm going to do this great performance. You'll be great. But to your point, hopefully there even is a kid and Brandon Bain didn't try some sort of last minute antics. Hey, man, just stay overnight, and you'll do it in the fourth round. That's it. Just have me, I'll be happy to be there. It is the second bill's pick of Friday night. Oh, great. You got it. Did I promise the mafia? I can't tell him a lot of things, but I can promise it will not be boring. I love it. I look forward to it, Kyle, always appreciate this call. And I do hope to see you in Vegas. That'll be fun. Give it a ride, Rick, can't wait to watch it. All right, bud. Right back at you. At Kyle Brandt, check him out of the Emmy nominated good morning football. I just decided what schrager and him on the last two days we can, you know, it's the elephant in the room. It's the Emmy elephant in the room that we're nominated for the same award. Best studio show. Indeed, good morning football, stupendous program. So let's take a break and so we're remotely on time for Garrett Wilson. Here on the program, from the Ohio State, will he be the top ten pick of the Giants as I've mocked? Conspiracy theories. Aliens. Paranormal. Bigfoot, UFO, just some of the things they talk about on theories of the third kind..

"If you ask me, that has to know people. That would be his only red flag. Only red flag hollandaise has been said, God bless you. Oh man, all right. Story the draft going in based on your sitting at the breakfast table and here in pretty much every narrative from soup to nuts is what? What do you got? Mystery and chaos. I'm really excited for this draft rich. And I'm most excited, I think, for Friday morning. Because people are going to be so mad and so flummoxed because this is this great part of the draft process where the general fan that we love and respect, they're just convinced and they think that the mock drafts are right. They think that they're going to be accurate and mock drafts are a fun exercise. They're an exploration of what could happen, but when someone's favorite team doesn't take Malik Willis because Lance sirloin said they would and the fan loses their mind. Yes, that's the way it works. And I was just looking, I was doing a mock roundup. So even if you just look at the mocks in the NFL media group of which there are about 8, this stress is crazy because normally you know, you have the first three or four picks, you kind of know they're coming or they're leaked and you're kind of thinking as a fan. Let's get to the crazy picks. Let's get to the drunk picks. They're all talk. All 32, 9 different players mocked into the top 5. We have Kenny Pickett going to the Lions at two. We have Kenny Pickett going to the Lions at 32. Schrager has Matt corral going in the first round. Charles Davis, Desmond Ritter, Peter king has Malik Willis falling out of the first round and both Cynthia Freeland and Bucky Brooks have zero quarterbacks in the first round. It's already three Irish car bombs deep at the bar. So march must have been a major Jell-O shot then. Because this whole thing's been drunk ever since Brady said he was on retiring for two days before free agency. This whole thing has been off its axis. And you remember, you know, I'm just talking about the picks. Let's not forget if you're out having a bender with your Friends and you're just having beers or whatever. And someone has this terrible idea of, let's do some mind erasers, guys. The mind erasers in this sense are in the middle of the draft. Oh, by the way, deeper Samuel was just traded and breaking news, Jimmy Garoppolo was traded and Baker Mayfield was traded. Those aren't even the picks. Those are the minor racers that you drink from bottom up with a straw and then you pass out in a gutter. And that's not even the main course of the 32 picks. People say, oh, this draft is down. I love this dress. Well, I don't know if debo will be traded during a draft, that's got to happen in the next 48 I would assume. And I have no idea what the hell happened where some difference in debo's mind became irreconcilable. And we've all been sleuthing it out all week long. What is your two cents on the subject matter? Well, I think the simplest one is he's just making this rather garish power play just to get paid by the niners and that it's all smoke and that he's throwing a fit and he's putting messages out and just he sat there and he watched everybody get paid at his position and kind of came late in the season well after tyreek got paid and devonta and he's just throwing a fit and all the things are nonsense and he just wants to be paid and it's just a good old fashioned pay me wide receiver thing. The other thing is just something deeper that he sees himself as this other position. He doesn't like how he was being used. Look, I've heard maybe he doesn't like Trey Lance. I put all kinds of things. All I know is that if I'm trading for him and somebody sends the niners everything not nailed down to get deebo Samuel, I don't want him showing up and saying, I'm a wide receiver. I play the X out there. I know I want him to play debo. I want him to do the whole depot thing. So if he has some sort of feelings or a prerogative that this is right that I am a classical wide receiver and don't use me up in the backfield, I'm not interested. That's part of the degree of difficulty here because you have to get permission from the forty-niners to talk to him. Because you do, it's so rare you want to talk to a wide receiver to acquire him in the first question isn't how much or that question is how much it's not about money. It's about how much would you be willing to let us use you at running back because it's not because he's not a good wide receiver he's actually a very talented wide receiver who's very physical and can run away from people. It's the issue of how he's used that makes him unique. That makes him debo as you pointed out. And you'd have to have that conversation and that's all got to happen in the minute the niners actually give permission to speak to him, kind of gives up the play that I think they're going to make, which is call him up Thursday night and go, well, the draft is started and you're still with us because we're not giving you up. I know you saw Devante get what he wanted and you saw tyreek get what he wanted, but what we want is what we hope you want now because you're still here, you know? Yeah. All right, I've always said that draft picks draft picks are just scratchers. They're very appealing and they're fun and you have a bunch of them and they feel like money until you start getting the penny out and scratching them off and oh my gosh, this one didn't work. This one didn't work. This one didn't work. Sometimes none of them work. The real players are real cash money in your hands. Deebo Samuel is a proven star however expensive. You might be, I don't know if any of these guys are going to amount to anything. And that's the fun of the draft. It's not cash. It's the scratcher thing you buy. It's got cool pictures on it. You got all kinds of fun and a lot of times you end up broke. So anybody who could trade anything for debo, I'm still advocating for a top ten pick. I don't care. If you can do it, and you can pay them in the niners, say we have no choice. I would do it. Kyle Brandt here on the rich eisen show from good morning football. Smoke them if you got them for the bears, huh? On Thursday night. You know, if anything from them, I feel like they'll be trading assets. I just think we have Justin Fields and anybody else come and get them. We are going a full threat to trade, sell, beg, borrow deal, anything. The flu is loose with the head coach and he's like, if they were going to start this whole thing over, anybody but fields. If anything they'll trade back, if anything, they'll trade players. But I wish I could tell you some fiery thing that the bears are going to do. That was last year rich. And I remember sitting at the desk and watching you, you were there at the desk and the Giants logo on the bottom left part of the screen and just magically it changes to a bear's logo and all of Chicago exploded and then I think we just saw him turn into a crash test dummy combined with a rodeo clown for about 6 months and now we're trying to put something around them..

"Bet online where the game starts. So Kevin, I've started to do tip my toe into the draft waters and I've started with receiver because I do think the Patriots have some interest in getting somebody and we talked about they don't have any receivers signed by 2023. And you would love to have a guy that you can bring in with Mac Jones and sort of pair him with him. You know, I wanted to ask you because I was listening to Chris Simms podcast the other day. And he had his top 5. He's often unorthodox, but I think he's pretty good at what he does and he knows what he's looking at in terms of talent. I found it very interesting and I wanted to get your reaction. That he all right, crystal lava sort of like a borderline top 5 type of guy in terms of at the receiver position. But he didn't have Garrett Wilson on his top 5. I think James Williams was Jameis Williams Jameson Williams from Alabama was by far his number one. Of course he's coming off the ACL. But just, you know, I know you're at least in your mock dress you've had Garrett Wilson going high just sort of year. I wanted to get your quickie thoughts on that. And he's not the he likes to Drake London was in his top 5. I don't think he's the biggest fan of Drake London but he had a couple other guys that surprised me. Watson from North Dakota. He's also high on birks. I saw Burks at the combine and I was in his workout. I was not impressed by trailing Burke's. He did not stand out to me. So, yeah, so I'm going to disagree with Chris a little bit, right? So I think that Garrett Wilson, for me, he's a three level threat. So he's quick on short routes. He needs some route running refinement, but I think he can be a good route runner. Which is going to help us intermediate and he's got plenty of speed. So good body control, a lead ability to separate. So when he catches the football, we talk about Jameis and Williams, who is an absolute not only does James Williams have great speed, but he has great burst, which creates that lethal combination, right?.

"They always <Speech_Female> call a quarterback <SpeakerChange> <Silence> trigger man. <Speech_Male> And it's <Speech_Male> and you see the replays <Speech_Male> of the alavi touchdown <Speech_Male> in the garrett wilson touch <Speech_Male> on it it's like oh yeah <Speech_Male> allow literally <Speech_Male> leaves the corner <Speech_Male> twenty yards behind that like <Speech_Male> his dust. Basically <Speech_Male> like okay. Yes <Speech_Male> a lot of quarterbacks <Speech_Male> cook complete that pass <Speech_Male> so it was more about alavi <Speech_Male> or is that more about cj <Speech_Male> stroud. <Speech_Male> So i think the <Speech_Male> way. That fox telecast <Speech_Male> handled ohio <Speech_Male> state is kind <Speech_Male> of the same way a lot. <Speech_Male> Of the telecast gonna handle <Speech_Male> them and this is a <Speech_Male> media narrative driven <Speech_Male> award. The idea <Speech_Male> that it could be stroud. <Speech_Male> I think is actually <Speech_Male> very unlikely. <Speech_Male> Even if his stats <Speech_Male> continue to accumulate <Speech_Male> four touchdowns <Speech_Male> in the first game. <Speech_Male> Can't another <Speech_Male> candidate emerge. <Speech_Male> You almost need like consolidation. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Right in ohio states. <Speech_Male> Apparently they're gonna play <Speech_Male> you running backs in this game. <Speech_Male> Maybe that ends up <Speech_Male> giving you a candidate out of it <Speech_Male> does alavi <Speech_Male> like vastly <Speech_Male> outplay garrett <Speech_Male> wilson to the degree <Speech_Male> that it becomes his <Speech_Male> candidacy <Speech_Male> that we end up talking about. Tom <Speech_Male> cornell talked about that <Speech_Male> when he came on a couple <Speech_Male> of weeks ago. He loved la <Speech_Male> one hundred <SpeakerChange> to one <Speech_Male> to win the award. That <Speech_Male> price hasn't the price <Speech_Male> by the way so <Speech_Male> the press but <Speech_Male> but he also <Speech_Male> to be fair to allow. <Speech_Male> They like he was <Speech_Male> one of the players who did not <Speech_Male> take himself out of the running <Speech_Male> for the award and week one. <Speech_Male> When so many players did <Speech_Male> he had like one hundred and two <Speech_Male> touchdowns so <Speech_Male> it just you know <Speech_Male> if this game could <Speech_Male> be settled. Something <Speech_Male> for us. It's probably <Speech_Male> not going to settle anything about <Speech_Male> oregon state's <Speech_Male> actually just way better and we're <Speech_Male> going to learn that but <Speech_Male> maybe the game could actually settle <Speech_Male> another argument <Speech_Male> or unknown <Speech_Male> thing in this game. Which is <Speech_Male> okay. We know <Speech_Male> who alabama's candidate is <Speech_Male> going to be. We know georgia's <Speech_Male> not going to have one. We <Speech_Male> know it's unlikely clemson's <Speech_Male> going to have one. We know <Speech_Male> rattler is oklahoma's <Speech_Male> who is ohio. <Speech_Male> State's heisman candidate going <Speech_Male> to be. Is the picture <Speech_Male> going to be too muddied for them <Speech_Male> to produce one <Speech_Male> or are we all going to <Speech_Male> put our eggs in the alavi <Speech_Male> basket or <Speech_Male> the stroud basket made. <Speech_Male> He looks so much better at home. <Speech_Male> Maybe that's something <Speech_Male> that happens. I think that's like a really <Speech_Male> really interesting subplot <Speech_Male> under <Speech_Male> this game is just <Speech_Male> like where do we <Speech_Male> put our attention and accolades <Speech_Male> and credit <Speech_Male> for when ohio state <Speech_Male> scores <SpeakerChange> like forty fifty <Speech_Female> points. <Speech_Female> Does it does <Speech_Female> it matter or <Speech_Female> is it a relevant to <Speech_Female> crystal vase heisman <Speech_Female> candidacy that <Speech_Female> a wide receiver <SpeakerChange> one last <Silence> year with devante smith. <Speech_Male> I <Speech_Male> don't think it matters <Speech_Male> a ton. But i think <Speech_Male> the lesson <Speech_Male> maybe <Speech_Male> maybe a little <Speech_Male> bit. I think the lesson of the devante <Speech_Male> smith season is like <Speech_Male> he needed <Speech_Male> jalen waddell to actually <Speech_Male> be injured to win <Speech_Male> and so like chris. Alaba <Speech_Male> doesn't need an injury <Speech_Male> but he just needs <Speech_Male> like there needs <Speech_Male> to be such clear separation <Speech_Male> between him and <Speech_Male> everyone else on the <Speech_Male> team and like the <Speech_Male> type of staph performances <Speech_Male> about will require <Speech_Male> will be insane <Speech_Male> like like <Speech_Male> if he has like one <Speech_Male> seventy three. <Speech_Male> Okay cool then. <Speech_Male> Maybe that narrative <Speech_Male> starts to go but like that <Speech_Male> might be what it takes and <Speech_Male> honestly maybe they <Speech_Male> do get that on. <SpeakerChange> Saturday nights <Speech_Female> possible <Speech_Female> may global pandemic <Silence> by not hurt. Either that <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> when the heisman trophy as <Speech_Music_Female> well oh <Speech_Music_Female> <Speech_Male> love <Speech_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> coming up next. Second in the SEC and tackles lost this year, 1200 tonight and disease Oh Hillary of Georgia with 12 half for him, and will Anderson have been bright spots on the edges of that defense. And wind up in the pistol to the Buckeye Still no trace sermon here. He's not gonna return tonight. Which faith Master team can I keep my fields and he's off to the races down there near hash marks and all the way down to the 20 yard line before he's run down by Kristen Harris and Patrick's or 10. That was a fake dive to master Team Fields. Captain ran Who is right on a beautiful cut back to the middle or Daniel, right. "To take it to them in a low scoring 10 6 game as the Buckeyes were able to get that defensive stop now they still remain on Lee. Four points behind here. It seems like it should be more than that, Tiki, but that's all it is a the moment missed opportunities for Northwestern, for sure. Short fields, etcetera. They haven't been able to capitalize on In the second half. But how states got 94 yards to go here and they've got to find a way to get themselves right. They have to be frustrated. I know they're fans of frustrated watching this inefficiency so far, Justin Fields out of the pistol formation will hand the back breaks free to the 15 to the 20. This may be off to the races. It's sermon of the 40. The 50 being tracked down Get to block downfield of the 40 and down to the 30 yard line. He goes racing out of his own end. Does Trey sermon at a Marietta, Georgia, the Oklahoma transfer as he just busted free right through the middle of the defense. You get this front side zone read where the quarterback goes the same way as the running back and it pulls. Edge Defender away. Patty Fisher, who was the best defensive player for for Northwestern out of the hole and Trace sermon takes off that is a 65 yard run the longest of the season for Ohio State and just their sixth game for the entire team. And obviously sermons longest run of the year. Fields on what looks like a broken option play keeps it runs right in his dad of the 20 and close to another first down. What a moment. Um, switch right through the middle of the defense. If sermon and had a touch more speed, it might Been a 93 yard touchdown. Yeah, that was a dangerous tackle. Two on Justin Fields. He hit the ground with his head. I'm not sure. I mean in the NFL you have you get concussion protocols for things like this. Someone notices that you hit the ground hard. Pull you to the sideline, but Justin Fields, this little wobbly getting up here. He's walking around in the back field for the shotgun situation here. It is a second into at the northwestern 20, Ohio State of the scarlet and gray moving left with those gray helmets, the traditional Helmet with the Buckeyes on it Field throwing right for the end zone receiver got a hand on it, but it's incomplete. He was looking long in the right corner. And again, it was Garrett Wilson, who we wanted just a little overthrown. Again. This name we keep calling Cam Mitchell on the coverage to good throw by Justin Fields is just a little bit tall for the ride receiver who times his jump a little bit awkwardly. I'm surprised TJ After that big run the house. It's slow down. They did a little bit. Pardon me third and to hear three receivers to the left field, has a running back to his left. What Western shows a four million front and they look to the sideline for the play. Ryan Day is over. They're signaling there's only two on the play clock. Now one of the play clock they didn't get playoff. That's delay of game and there are some dismayed looks on the Ohio State sideline. Play a game. Wow. Unexcusable five yard penalty will remains third. There is such a thing and I'm gonna lay it out there is over coaching. You want these guys to look over there? They were waving all kinds of hand signals, etcetera. While the play clock's rolling down you over coach it can backfire. It shows me that this Ohio state coaching staff is not confident and what they're doing offensively because you're second guessing themselves. It's 32. You have a massive front four or front five. Your offensive line. You get two really good running backs and Trey sermon has already got 150 yards on the day, turn around and hand it to him to get it the hard way. If not go for it on fourth down Buckeyes or three for seven on third down in the game of Snap here, field close, the ball is deflected and battered down by Northwestern at the line of scrimmage, bringing up four down who got a hand.

Actually going into the fourth quarter earlier in the Big 10 number three Ohio State against the country's newest football power, Indiana, right ninth fields with the ball in his hands looks to throw tosses into the end zone. Wilson's got it for the score. Nine yard pass plays Justin Fields to Garrett Wilson. The second time they hooked up for a passing TD. 34 7, Ohio State. We'll call earlier field. I am gee Ecology 34 7 lead was big for the Buckeyes because Indiana would rally. "Supporter of college athletics and premier partner of the Heisman Trophy, All right. So for Ohio State 33 seconds was the drive to plays 75 yards. Big play, of course, was fields to Wilson for 65, but then also fields to Wilson for 10 for the touchdown. Seven. Nothing Ohio State and What's wild to me is both times they were. Indiana was in Manda Man coverage against one of the best receivers in the nation. You're gonna have to bring a safety and and help with Garrett Wilson, but that also tells you how many weapons Ohio State has We talked about Justin Fields. His touchdown to interception ratio is pretty incredible. He does not have an interception this year. Yeah, and he has now more touchdown passes than incompletions. Credible. What I love though, Tom, watching him after that success has every reason to sit down and feel good. He walks down to where the defense is getting ready to go on the field, and it's getting those guys riled up, and that's leadership breeze tellers back deep to receive for Indiana. Is Ohio State will kick it off from the 35 yard line. They jumped out to the seven. Nothing lead with 12 32 to play in the first quarter. Last kickoff bounce to inside the pylon and out of the side of the end zone. If they're going to try to do the same kind of thing and keep it away. From the receiver back to the goal line. If you're Ohio State, you really have the playbook wide open defensively because you've been successful just about every which way we'll reach Taylor's gonna come run up and take this one of the seven yard line on the near hash marks for the 10 to the 15 and he is nailed and taken down the 19 yard line. That is one heck of a special teams tackled by Josh Proctor. Took him down and took him down hard. Let's send it back to Jason Horowitz in our Westwood one studios. Well, Tom Vanderbilt,.
