"How good this team is right now and how much they should have been upgraded from where you had them to start to season. Yeah, I think it is, again, the number one factor here, here we are in the middle of October. And I'm not sure really how good Syracuse is. On paper, they beat NC state, be Purdue, a couple of solid teams, maybe borderline top 25, even in a Vegas power rating. But then you dive deeper into those two games, Purdue was really banged up, specifically running back and wide receiver in that game. Still Purdue should have won the game. They all gained Syracuse by nearly 200 yards. And if not for a couple of dumb penalties after their last touchdown, Sergei probably doesn't score there in the final seconds. And then last week, yeah, I mean, if somebody's not paying attention to who was in or out of a lineup, I mean, Syracuse controlling it NC state by that kind of score seems very impressive, but the fact that NC state was down to a backup quarterback and Devin Leary in my opinion as a guide is probably worth at least 5 or 6 points to a point spread. And then I throw this one in there too because if you're looking at full season statistical averages, I mean the Wagner game and a very bad FCS team. We're talking bottom 5 FCS team. Syracuse out gained them by nearly 600 yards. You do the math when you played 6 games. Your yards per game average goes up a hundred yards per game. So I have my doubts on just how good Syracuse is. And you know what, pay attention to the postgame last week. I think dino babers might have tipped himself off a little bit. He mentioned bulge ability last week. Big win for him. But he's like, it was important to get the ball eligibility. Why has he mentioned that? I think it's two fronts. Number one, I think it was very important for him to get the ball eligibility this year if he was going to still be the Syracuse coach in 2023. But also, this upcoming stretch for Syracuse, night and day difference in terms of strength of schedule. They will be an underdog and possibly four, maybe even 5 of their last 6 games. We will not only find out just how good Syracuse is on Saturday, but also a daunting stretch of opponents here, even though it's only the ACC coming up for them. Brad, you mentioned that Wagner game, and if you look at what Sean Tucker has done this season, this isn't disparage anything. He's accomplished on the football field. His average is basically jumped from a shade more than 80 yards per game against FPS opponents to averaging more than a hundred yards per contest, and he did that in a shortened game nonetheless. Against the Wagner Seahawks and when you look at this Syracuse orange offense, Garrett Schrader has been outstanding. I think he deserves full marks for the improvement he's made. Robert and I is coming in the offensive coordinator and having the same impact on Schrader that we're seeing the negative impact that Brennan Armstrong has gone through is starting quarterback of Virginia. Rendez Gadsden has paced the receivers, but even last week in the win against NC state Gadsden 8 catches 141 yards and two touchdowns, the rest of the receiving room 8 for 69. And pain, I bring all that up to ask this question. When we look at the Clemson defense, we thought this could be one of the best front 7s in all of college coming into the year. Now, in my opinion, they haven't lived up to those expectations, but there's still time to get right. And you don't win national championships in the middle of October. Do you see a path to success for Syracuse to stay in this inside this number with their offense against the Clemson defense? That's just now starting to get a little bit healthier. I think that's the great question. What Clemson defense are we getting? The one that we thought was the best in the country or the one from last week. And I know people will look at the 34 14 score at one point in the FSU game and think that that was an absolute blowout in the reality was there was about a three minute stretch where Clemson outscored Florida state by 17 points. But if you look Florida state had drives of 75, 93, 44, 76, 60 and 94 yards. Clemson's defense was 24 tackles against FSU and you look at floor states offensive line. It was beaten and battered. They created 3.7 line yards per rush, more than 2.6 yards before first contact against this Clemson defense. You look at all of those things that translated to a positive 0.55 EPA per rush. Effectively, any time F as you read in the ball it translated into more than half a point per run attempt more than 56% of FSU's runs gained 5 plus yards. This was a game where Clemson defensively was near their healthiest all season. That was the talk. You have Nick Eason, Clemson's defensive tackle coach. If you listen to his presser on Monday, he was fired up because of how poorly Clemson performed in the trenches. And the quote from the presser was stopping the run comes down to how bad you want it more than your opponent. It starts inside your heart. I'm not The Wizard of Oz or Jesus. Some things you need to be born with. We have to get back to basics, techniques, and fundamentals. Star ratings don't mean shit. I think they're going to be a little bit more fired up this week. I don't know if we're going to get the dominant Clemson defensive front. We thought they could be at the beginning of the season, but they're healthy. They've been called out upfront Syracuse, their role lines played very well. They lack some depth, but four starters return from a really improved unit last year. The queues are top 25 in line yards and opportunity rate. Sean Tucker to your point has been good. Third in the country in yards per team play. And that's measures basically efficiency and volume. So he's been a stud there. Garrett Schrader, we've talked about him being upgraded a little bit. I think clearly he's been good for the Syracuse quarterback position. No doubt. Still don't know if he's good enough as a pastor to consistently attack Clemson where it's been vulnerable this season. Clemson right now outside the top 40 and EPA per pass allowed. I think you have to hit some passes to open things up for Sean Tucker on the ground. Now, if the cues can get their ground game going, not as much pressure on trader. But ultimately, if Schrader can hit some passes and soften some things up for Tucker, I think that goes a long way. Clemson is also played some mobile quarterbacks with Jeff Sims and Jordan Travis last week. So I think that helps here when thinking about Schrader's mobility. Listen, the 13 point spread is really interesting perceptually. You have two unbeaten. I think the casual fan is thinking, how could that be? Our core number on the game's actually 14 and a half. The line is high for a reason. And I think all of us on this podcast were pretty high on Syracuse relative to expectation. The team was projected to win three and a half games. But this is a different animal on the road and Death Valley. And I think as Brad astutely pointed out, you have to make the manual adjustment for Devin Leary being out. And across the board, Syracuse strength of schedule really poor 87th. Just one top 40 win and it was at home against an undermanned Purdue team. That required the game winning drive. Wagner, much to our chagrin because we laid 53 in that game and thanks for bringing that up. Canceled.

"Never lived in Mississippi, but I've been here a lot. I grew up literally on the line for I know the importance of oldness and how much of the lane kiffin the lane train show. How does that affect what happens here just in terms of perception? Well, in reality, Paul, it's like living in two different worlds. Right. You know, you have the Mississippi state world where everything's everybody's all aboard the pirate ship and then just a short two hour drive to the north you have where everybody's all aboard the line train, but they really don't mix to me during the regular season until we get to that fateful week in November, every single year. But when we get to that week, those sparks fly. Yeah, I mean, they're hired at the same time too and lane has two wins in the egg bowl. It's something that people have circled here. Even if leach goes out and wins 8, 9, ten games, and he has a loss in that egg. Well, that's something that people are going to remember. And three to start Deadpool is not something that people here treat lightly. Yeah, it just seems, because I mean, I think it's pretty established. I covered the iron ball. I made a well, I don't know if I made a career. Oh, I guess I did. But I think this is much nastier today than the I don't think the iron ball is even nasty anymore. Sabin has ruined the iron bowl. I mean, it's not even, yeah, there's some Epic Games. We all know, but this thing is just, I mean, I don't know if I want to be in the same within the same time zone as the egg bow on Thanksgiving. We say it every year, no matter the record of the two teams. You have to go in thinking it's 50 50, no matter who wants the real determining factor is who shows up that day and wants to win worse in every egg bowl. That's the way it's been and I grew up here. That's the way it's been all 21 years of my life. And I'm new to it. I mean, I'm from Indiana originally. I moved down here last August and end right away. I mean, that's something that I talk about that people always mention is the Ebola. It matters. I grew up just outside Chicago where people are rooting for the bulls, the White Sox cubs rivalry is what it is. I mean, there's no professional team here. It's old miss or Mississippi state. And it's going to matter, even if you're no one 12 in a season, they're going to remember that one game that you lost in November. So this year, in the egg bowl, it's an Oxford apologize for me. Me not being a Magnolia state official. I mean, I should know that. If it doesn't go well, meaning a loss. Does that take away from everything else? Is it that important? To the fan base. Yes. To the administration, the athletic department, I'm not as sure. But to the fan base, absolutely. When Joe moorhead was a coach at this team, I specifically remember people saying, yeah, they might not have won as many games as we delight during the regular season, but they won the egg ball and that's the big one that matters to this fan base. Yeah, and I mean, leech got a two year extension. You know, this past off season. I think he's got the support of John Cohen, the athletic director here, and some others around the athletic department, some donors and things like that. But like you said, I mean, it's hard when the egg bowl is the last game of the season for it to not leave some kind of a sour taste when you go into the off season. Of course, we missed a year because of COVID, but the last time I sat here about this time, Joe moorhead was sitting across from me and I will tell you it was one of the more forgettable injuries of my life. It was very difficult. It was, it was, it wasn't contentious, it was just awkward, because everyone knew he was on short time. Well, and you know, it's funny that you mentioned that because I know for certain there are definitely a lot of fans that would like to forget the Joe Moore heads on your ear. At Mississippi state. Yeah, no, and Paul, you've had my good friend, Ben Portner, and a couple times cover South Carolina now. He was here covering more. We went to Indiana together. So I remember talking to him a lot while he was here covering state. And it was just kind of interesting because you see them get those big wins. Everyone remembers that bowl with the dog urinating celebration. Everyone remembers that. And it's so weird that it was so certain that moorhead was going to be gone. It was really weird tenure that he had here. And like you said, I really forgettable one. Yeah, and I think that one egg bowl, it's got sweeped out and swept out excuse me. I'm just a I was homeschooled. And then more hit loses the bowl game, right? And he's gone. Well, it was the real. Yeah. And the real nail on the coffin was what happened leading up to the ball game. Garrett Schrader was actually the quarterback of that team and you see what he's doing at Syracuse now. There were good players on that team. It was just a matter of an athletic, the athletic department saw it too of changes needed to be made at the top. Long term it was in the solution. It was never going to be. No, and I think those things happen and I remember when leitch got the job, I mean, there was quite a buzz, and then was it just winning the press conference. I think he's obviously shown guys that he's won more than the press conference. Yeah, I think people knew right away that he was going to bring the humor and things like that to those press conferences, like you mentioned, but at the end of the day, I think people saw, as I mentioned earlier, that's a guy that had been his previous stops for about a decade or so each place. That's what Mississippi state really needed. I think they saw that. The question was, was the array going to work in the SEC? Obviously, you come out, you break all the records in that first game against LSU. You beat the defending champs, but then you go on from there. He had your struggles at the end of year one. You had some struggles in year two, but there seems to be some consistency. Obviously having a guy like Will Rogers who's been here now is third season running the show helps. But the recruiting is there with quarterbacks too. There's belief that it can continue. Before you go, leech will be here in a minute. Obviously we know the record against lane, there's been struggles against Pittman two. How big is tomorrow? It's huge for this team because I think we've already passed one turning point for this Mississippi state team in this season and that was at LSU. They go into that game and there's not many times that Mississippi state is going to go into Baton Rouge favored by a lot of people to win. So I think on the flip side of that coin, it's not many times you host, you know, a Texas a and M here, and then an Arkansas team here that's your favored to win.

"Root for him, but I can't imagine how it's not going to work out for him in Philadelphia. And the conversation has been since he got the gig there is that he's not a long-term threat at quarterback in this league. I hear that so many times. Like, what is it, is it his size? I told you what I think it is, what it is, is what happened in college to him. But I think that's proving that that was a weird outlier because tua isn't this all world quarterback. Right, and he still lost his gig to him. And then he sat behind him. And then he goes to Oklahoma and doesn't win the Heisman Trophy because everybody did that for Lincoln Riley. And then he's chosen second round by the eagles and they overdrafted him. That's the way I'm thinking it. Because you're looking at him and his skill set is remarkable and maybe it's the fantasy versus the reality world. He's a pro bowler in the fantasy world. That's for sure. He's going to win you a fantasy league. The question is, can he win you this regular league? And he counted for 73% of the offense for the Philadelphia Eagles in Detroit. And they now got him not just any wide receiver. They got him a Pro Bowl wide receiver who, as you just heard, he's known for a long time, and he's been tight with for a long time. AJ Brown and he didn't just shake hands and meet for the first time. He was on the phone with him on draft night to make sure it was happening. That it was going according to what he was hearing was the plan. And the eagles offense has not seen a receiver like him in some time. I guess, like I said, earlier this week, all Shawn Jeffrey, is that the big tall, wide receiver that they physical wide receiver? I mean, they want a Super Bowl with him. So the Heisman thing too is so weird. You know who he lost the Heisman to? Oh, only the greatest college quarterback season ever in Joe burrow 60 touchdowns. Here's another thing I think that the reason why there's less than an again, I know I got a tweet from somebody who's on their locally saying, I don't watch their games, he didn't perform very well down the stretch last year, but it was the end of his first full year as a quarterback in the NFL. And not everyone again comes out of the box like mahomes and Lamar and Herbert. But the eagles have had tons of draft picks in their back pocket for the following year just in case they want to draft somebody. Yeah. So they've been, they've been hedging a little bit too. Could you imagine could you imagine if he does blossom into what we're seeing? And what I'm positing, could you imagine he does that? And then you start using those draft picks to protect him and add weapons on defense as well. We thought they were into Sean Watson landing spot. Correct? Because of all those picks. Or the landing spot for another Alabama quarterback. Going to be Bryce young, CJ Stroud, JJ McCarthy, when he's a very? Stex and Bennett. Let's go. Let's get some Heisman love for that kid. Garrett Schrader? Shout out cues? All right, we'll take a look at more of the weak two schedule for you when we come back some games that I've targeted that are interesting to me. And you guys said, I have not heard this sound bite yet. Buck showalter on social media. Correct. Just in case you're thinking, I guess the way that you've been telling me how buck was talking about it. It's great. The fact that there's a very tight race with a lot at stake atop the NL east because either you get a week off or you don't. To kick off the playoffs, either you get to set your pitching the way you want, or you don't. And you've got to play against a wildcard team that's hungry or you don't. I guess it's not getting to the skipper of the metropolitans. That's for sure. So that's all next before miles Garrett of the browns and the brilliant dick ebersol who's got a new book out joins us an hour too. 8 four four two O four rich being the number to dial here on the program. "To Brad's point verse has all the potential in the world to be special. He is the one true pass rusher. Florida state has. But he's young. He played it all, but it's a big step up. He doesn't really have a secondary move. All three of those guys need to play well here. LSU's receiver group with Butte and neighbors. I think they could give Florida state trouble. I am actually very nervous about Florida state's defensive backs. They're either really young or they're older guys that have battled injuries and haven't played well. Florida state's number one corner. Marion Cooper missed the opener, didn't participate in warm ups was seen walking with a limp last week. I don't know if he plays or not. He was on the depth chart. Let's see. The other thing that's interesting is Brian Kelly didn't officially announce a starting quarterback yet. Now, he believes it's a tactical tactical advantage. And I'll be honest, I do too. I do think Jaden Daniels gets the job. But him and Garrett nest Meyer are polar opposites. And my hunch is that Jaden Daniels is out there. He gets the first crack at it because LSU's offensive line probably has some question marks in his mobility helps that. And the one thing you do if you throw in the tape last year, Adam fuller's defense struggled at times with mobile quarterbacks. There was a three game stretch last year where FSU played Louisville. Malik Cunningham had two rushing touchdowns and a positive .28 EPA per rush following week. Syracuse quarterback Garrett Schrader 143 rushing yards when you remove sacks. Three rushing touchdowns of positive .31 EPA per rush. The week after that. Sam Howell. A 111 rushing yards. There could also be an interesting situation here. I do think we see Garret nest Meyer at some point. But what if LSU's offensive line is holding up extremely well because Florida state's defensive line is a little bit overrated. And Jaden Daniels isn't connecting with receivers. Nest Meyer is the better thrower. I think we know Florida state secondary struggled to get off the field last year on third down 94th in the country in third down conversions allowed. I am a little nervous about Florida state's secondary again. It's a lot of young kids. It's a lot of upperclassmen that have not proven themselves. It makes me nervous, right? A week before the final transfer period you're adding Malik feaster who's an FCS level cornerback to the roster. It makes me a little nervous. I think this unit's a little bit down compared to what the market believes. Brad, let's hope Florida state shows up on Sunday for paine's emotional well-being and peace of mind. Otherwise, this might be the first and last time that we have to do a deep dive on any seminal football game throughout the course of the fall, but definitely a contest worth watching. I know a lot of LSU fans believe that the program only has one way to go but up in Florida state brimming with confidence that Mike norvell can finally get this program headed in the right direction for what's been a slow rebuild, but one that I think is progressed the way it needs to maintain sustainability going forward instead of a fly by night program. Brad, I mean, if this is the first foray that you've had with the bet the board listenership, I mean, you've passed with flying colors. So if pain comes down with a sickness or anything else, we know we're in good hands going forward. Can't thank you enough for jumping into the fold. We were so excited to get you on board coming into the season. And the first episode, listening to you guys go back and forth as any indication. I know how much smarter I've gotten, let alone what our listeners are going to do to make them sharper, much more sophisticated handicappers going forward, especially as they pertain to the big games will break down also. And I can't thank you guys enough for having me. I'm sure I'll be getting some nasty text after we get off the podcast from somebody that I went after a little bit on this podcast. That's the only way we do things around here. I'm not even going to give him a chance to defend himself. I'll let you guys take that off the air. Best of luck this weekend, Brad with you, I'm sure will be north of 100 bets by the time you finish out your FCS family. Absolutely. Man, bringing bread in to get you two going back and forth and allow me to play point guard to kind of facilitate the dialog. I might just flip on the microphone, show up 50 minutes before we're set to record. And it's going to make my life a hell of a lot easier, giving me a chance to deep dive every game on the slate, even the ones that we're not breaking down. Yeah, you can't get off that easy. And then when you do speak, you just throw jabs then. There is no doubt. Having an ally now in Brad, he took to it like a fish to water throwing haymakers coming off the top rope. If you could have seen the shit eating grin on my face, ear to ear when he just decides, you know what? I might be the new guy in the fold, but I'm not gonna hold back. I loved it and it wore my heart and it's part of the reason I know both you and I work so hard to soft season you a little harder than me, not just this off season, but even going back a little bit further to make sure that Brad could be a part of bet the board and I couldn't be more excited to add another extremely talented handicapper to the fold. Completely agree. And I think the one thing probably that comes off and it's not overly accurate is we might be a little rough around the edges and have prickly textures, but when we let somebody into the family, they're in. And the one thing that I've noticed about Brad is obviously wildly talented and we do some work together. Outside of the forward facing stuff. But just a good human. And that's kind of what we want to associate with in this space. And so very fortunate to have Brad joining us all fall along for the college football element. And hey, he may be doing a stand-alone podcast some point in October when we are celebrating your eventual nuptials. I would say impending nuptials. We'll get to that and we'll share a little bit more details on that because we may do something with bet the board that we've never done before, but I don't want all of our listeners to be extremely disappointed.

"For Paul. Of hesitating, I'm hesitant to say this, but I do not want to say better call Gaul. I do not like that. Producer Danny B force dead on me. Force that on me. 85 5 two four two 7 two 8 5. If you want to call the show, ACC media days coming up, 9 quarterbacks are going to be in attendance at ACC media days coming up. I believe it's the 20th ish. I think it's late next week for the ACC always one of the better events. And filled your COVID from Boston college, DJ ooey Angela Lake and to be there for Clemson, Jordan Travis. A guy that I think people need to pay attention to at Florida state as they continue to get better and better over the course of the second half of last season. I think Florida state is going to be a tricky dangerous team this year. Malik Cunningham, of course, at Louisville, who I feel like has been around for the better part of 500 years. For the Cardinals, Tyler Van Dyke might be a first round draft pick in Mario Cristobal's first year at Miami. He's going to be there at ACC media days Garrett Schrader who I think is an underrated player. I don't know if he's going to be ever one of the most consistent and accurate passers, but he is a freak of an athlete, a really good runner of the football. He'll be there for Syracuse. One man offense, Brendan Armstrong last year who I think was accounting for like 400 yards of total offense every game for Virginia. He will be there. Sam Hartman, who accounted for 50 touchdowns last year. And as I believe, also in his 16th year starting for wake forest is going to be there. And I think the most underrated quarterback in the country. Yes, that's right. I think the most underrated quarterback potentially in the country. Is a guy that is going to be on a top 15 team on a team that could compete for a playoff spot and could compete for a conference championship. In the ACC. And I know the fans of this team know exactly who I'm talking about, because I haven't mentioned them yet. How about this? How many guys in college football last year had 35 touchdown passes? 5 interceptions. Through for over 3000 yards, one 9 games, as a starter, how many guys in college football can say that they have Devin Leary's resume? NC state quarterback Devin Leary gonna be there. Dudes dudes of baller y'all. The quarterbacks in the ACC. I think the SEC has got the best quarterback list. That they've had in ten years, since 2013, if you go back to 2013 in the SEC, we talked a little bit about this yesterday. But if you go back to 2013 in the SEC. And you look at the SEC quarterback list, the number of players, the names that were in that in that league. Johnny manziel, Aaron Murray, AJ McCARRON, Connor Shaw, dak Prescott, Nick Marshall, James Franklin, Zach mettenberger, Bo Wallace. That was as good a quarterback season as I can remember in the SEC. Again, remember, Connor Shaw probably the best quarterback in South Carolina history. I mean, Johnny manziel Aaron Murray, like AJ McCARRON, Heisman, these are Heisman type of guys. Aaron Murray probably should have won a national title. Frankly, in 2012. Or would a competed for a national title had he just gotten a guy to go 5 more yards? People forget how close that Georgia team was to win in the whole thing. I wonder if I wonder if Kirby smart would even be there with Mark Rick still be there if they had won that championship in 2012. Point is, you look at the ACC this year. And again, I think the SEC is as good as 2013. I think the ACC has as good as the SEC this year. That quarterback roster, Jacob, Travis, Cunningham, Van Dyke, Leary, Armstrong Hartman. Is Keaton slovis the guy at Pittsburgh. There's some guys that aren't even going to be at media days that could be pretty good. I just think you look at that late that league and you go, this is one of the best collections of quarterbacks in the country. Again, tell me a quarterback. How about this? Cam rising at Utah and Devin Leary at NC state are the two most underrated quarterbacks in America. How about that? I will choose violence on a Wednesday. Convince me that you've got a name that's more undervalued than one of those two guys. Devin Leary, 35 touchdowns, 5 interceptions, 9 wins for NC state. How many seasons has NC state won double digit games? One time. One time, if they go ten and two this year, it will be the second time in school history that NC state has won ten games. Kentucky has won ten games twice in the last 5 years. That's how good Devin Leary is. Cam rising same thing if they don't screw up and lose at the beginning of the season because he didn't start by the way for Utah. They might have been in the playoff last year. Instead of Cincinnati, instead of Michigan, although maybe it would have been instead of Georgia, which wouldn't have been right, but whatever. You want to convince me there's a better quarterback? 855-242-7285 convince me. Convince me of that. How about this? Let's take a, let's talk some ACC football in just a few minutes here. All right? David Hale gonna join us. Let's do that in just a minute. 855-242-7285. My name is Braden Gaul.

"To your phone calls momentarily. Got the ACC announcing which players will be at ACC media days, 9 quarterbacks in that conference, as I said yesterday on the show, I think it is one of the best collections of quarterbacks I've seen at the ACC in the ACC period full stop. Filled your COVID is going to be there for Boston college. Jordan Travis for Florida state, a good statement on where he's at on that team. Malik Cunningham, Tyler Van Dyke is a very good player for Miami. He's going to be there Devin Leary very underrated for NC state. Brennan Armstrong, of course, like the one man 500 yards of offense show for Virginia Sam Hartman, who's thrown like a bazillion touchdowns and started 4000 football games for wake forest, which is a record. He'll be there. And of course, Garrett Schrader for Syracuse is going to be there as well, a guy that's really athletic and fun to watch. So 9 quarterback's going to be there. The big 12. At their media days, the conference commissioner Brett your book, the brand new conference commissioner basically said, we are open for business. As it pertains to expansion. So taking all phone calls, if you've got a football team and you want to see if the big 12s interested, give the big 12 a call, give old Brett your mark a call and see if they're interested in see if they're interested in your product. Joining here. But 8 5 5 two four two. 7 two 8 5. Again, the playoff is lost in all this expansion conversation. Like we're still trying to compete for a championship here. And Alabama looks like the best football team. Georgia looks like the second best team with the best schedule setting up to be 12 and O in Atlanta. I think Ohio State's clearly the best team in the Big Ten. They get Michigan at home at the end of the year. And I have the best offense in America. I think those three are in. Barring some major upsets, which is obviously why we watch. But I think those three are in. The problem is figuring out the fourth team. It's the most difficult prediction I can remember since the playoff became a thing in 2014. I've only got a handful of teams that I would argue belong in that conversation. But you can make the case for a few different. Somebody made the case for Penn State. I'm not buying that. Somebody made the case for Clemson. I'm on board with that. I think Clemson has a very good chance. To get into the playoff. But they're going to have to be perfect in conference because they have to go to Notre-Dame in non conference. 855-242-7285 convinced me of who belongs in the playoff with the big three, Bama, Georgia, and Ohio State. Is this butler from Atlanta? Butler, welcome to the welcome to the Paul fine bomb show. How are you? Hey, hunter. How you doing? Hunter, sorry, I apologize. Yeah, no problem. Yeah, so I was just listening to the other radio and you were naming the 15 teams. You can consider taking that four spot. And you said, I heard Mississippi stayed. I heard a and M, or Tennessee, maybe Florida. I mean, I think it's hard to mention those teams. If you're not even going to mention old mess, I realize we just lost Matt corral, but lane kiffin's done and amazing job of turning the program over in these past couple of years. We got Jackson diet to replace him. We stole Zach Evans, the PCU, and I don't know if you've seen almost a schedule this year, but it is rather easy, starts out with four free wins that will help Jackson get acquainted. And then from there, it's just what did Wayne Kevin can really finalize the deal. I mean, I don't really see any big competitors, the final stretch, they go, a and M, Bama, Arkansas, and Mississippi. And obviously bam was going to be going to be a major challenge. But if any of Nick Saban's old assistant coaches can do the job, you know, I think lane kiffin be the one to do it. I appreciate the call, hunter. I think it is a major testament to the job lane kiffin has done. To look at last year's team with a historically epic productive quarterback in Matt corral, ten regular season wins, a record for olmes, to lose so much and to say they're going to be as good. And frankly, to be in a quote unquote, reloading, rebuilding year, whatever you want to call it for all this. And if they go 8 and four, I would call that a huge testament to the job that Lincoln has done. But I am not, I have all missed at like 6 place in the west. So I am not picking oldness to challenge for the playoffs. To be honest, I don't Florida is not in that group either. The only reason I said Tennessee or Kentucky is because they could finish second in the east. Again, I'm not picking any of those teams to go. 11 and one, but Kentucky won ten games last year. So let's not go. They haven't lost as much. They still have their quarterback. I think the west schedules are tougher too. So I don't think it's Arkansas Mississippi state LSU or old miss because they the schedules are too hard. A and M would be the pick. If you're trying to make a case for a second place team in the SEC to make the playoff, it would be Texas a and M but then you're asking Texas a and M not to do Texas a and M things. Which is to be perfect. In every other game, not named Alabama. And I don't know if I'll believe it when I see it. With Texas a and M I think they're ten and two. And I don't think that's good enough to get into the playoff. So I really don't think a third SEC team is in this conversation to be fair. I do think oldness is a really good program with lane kiffin and their schedule is real front loaded. They could go 7 and O and then own 5. It's real tough in November. So I still think I like Mississippi a lot. I think that's going to be a real dangerous football team. But their schedule is nasty. Nasty. 855-242-7285 ray from San Antonio ray, welcome to the show. How are you, sir? Hey brother, how you doing today? Doing well, man. Blessings to I am an Aggie class of 1980 and I'm a really try to not include any bias in this, but a and M to get over the top. It has taken step one by beating Alabama here at home, but they're really going to have to beat Alabama in the way big game. I think to really command the respect that Alabama already commands, I think that can happen. And if it does, I think a and M will supplant Alabama. Obviously, and I think that if they go take care of business, you just said it and I totally agree with you when the games that they need to win and win a big game or two, then I think they can be right there.

"Plan on the money line and then roll it over every single time. They went hand all good. The last seven games which they've coming with less have all gone plus one fifteen the price i paid for this guy. Like the catch is a touchdown. Says is behind the bets. The podcast welcome in the latest behind the vets podcast. The calendars turned to september. We're taping this on wednesday september. First football is here specifically college football now. We have the appetizer last weekend. But this is the full slade. Gets going actually tonight and then a bunch of games on thursday into the weekend. And it's look it's awesome and coming up in a little bit. We have aaron renting professional. Better you've heard him here on the podcasts. A few times we've touched talked nba and also college football and some nfl as well. He's a sharp dude bets. Lot and thought it'd be a good good guess for opening weekend official weekend in college football member. We have a ton of content on the behind the bets. podcast feed. So if you want to go. Listen to that. Still have shelf life like tom hart after going. Sec media days interesting. J. romano and other pro better talking about his week one place and some futures. We also have some nfl content. John murray was on the podcast a week ago. Talking about sharp. They've had from behind the counter. How they're positioning. Some needs out the west gate las vegas super book and aaron shots. Both the afc and nfc with me in the month of august. So we've had a lot of good content out there but we're gonna get into specific games. I have a handful of place right now on. Espn dot com chuck section. I've given them out daily wager. But you know we'll rip through a few here i want to start with. Ecu this numbers come down a little bit. They play thursday night against appalachian state and look. I think he's us live dog. Jay vermont talked about it as well. They have a bunch of veterans including senior quarterback and app. State's been a little shaky as well. And they have a new quarterback and chase. Bryce you might remember him. He played a key. Clemson then transferred to duke ten and a half a lot of points for team that always seems to pull games out of the hat and have crazy place at the end. I like myself getting double digits plus ten right now but still i would out jumping on on ec as long as you get double digits and maybe a little sprinkle on the money line. That could be some fun The came by actually liked the most Kinda scared about it and it's umass and everybody who listen to pod on a somewhat regular basis knows. I'm kind of the betting bully as humans. A frequent guest. Your calls me. I like to bet on bet against bad teams. Just just do it right. Like orioles season win total under. I've certainly bet against umass in the past but thirty eight is just way too many points. And i'll tell you why won't bell and umass went out and got a bunch of transfers. Their quarterback is a six foot five inch from from colorado like the university of and or colorado university of boulder. And they have two running backs that transferred in one from rutgers. So a team that was like. Fcs not too long ago or fcs quality has some real players and you only have to get thirty eight now pits good. But they're at tennessee. The following week nerd uzis not a guy who's going to run up the score. He's old school. Fourth quarter they'll bring in the is a little bit and on top of that. Probably the best handy angle. I have is the offense coordinator for pit is a guy named mark whipple. He's coached umass twice head coach. Also the most recent time was just a few years ago. This is not situation where he wants to embarrass his former program. Umass is a special place in his heart. Whipple's going to call off the dogs as well. So i just think if you can get about two touchdowns even if it's garbage time i think plus thirty eight is the play in. That game is crazy. As it sounds another game. I like is essentially a coin. Flip game and it syracuse minus one. And a half. you might remember. I've talked about it with jay motto. The over three in the win total. They're going to split time at quarterback. Babies made that announcement. I don't love it. I would prefer. Tommy devito to be the entire time but dual threat with michigan state. Sorry mississippi state transfer garrett schrader. They're just better at a lot of positions that ohio but most importantly syracuse addressed. Their offense align issues. There was a pathetic. Offense couldn't even average average about two hundred fifty yards per game. Not passing just total yards per game. The veto would be injured. A lot spent a lot of time on his back. If they're okay on the offensive line this is just a syracuse team. That's just better. No more frank. Solich at ohio. Bob cats will rotate. Quarterbacks curtis rourke. Who's obviously the brother of nathan rourke the former stud bob cats quarterback and then armani rogers transfer from unlv. Ohio's very good. They looked good last year against the too bad teams really bad teams in the mac akron bowling green. But i think use gets there which is better talent especially with vito healthy and maybe we hope and improved offensive line. Fourth play i want to talk about is the monday night or ole miss and excuse me. That's monday or sunday. I forget which one it is. But i believe it's monday. Night ole miss against louisville this numbers trickling up. I've seen some eleven's as well look lane. Kiffin is not going to miss this opportunity. He loves the spotlight and he knows the value of an island game that we talk about right. The ice standalone. Primetime game kiffin is going to do everything to just try to open up a can on monday night. In atlanta neutral site now louisville has some players. i love scott satterfield. he's now taking over offensive. Play calling duties that should improve it but remember cunningham losses. Top two white outs including to atwells just a speed burnt burner in would do all sorts of great things. They had turnovers plagued them. Expect some regression there. But i just think ole miss which went toe to toe last year put up. Forty eight on bama can hang a number. I think it'll be close about the first half and they'll pull away. I think kipness going to use this for recruiting and bragging rights and just everything he wants to flex in this game. I they win this one by double digits. So i'm laying the ten here. It's moving so if you like it. I can't wait till monday night to get in on that one. So those are my four plays are also in the column. We have other places well daily wager all week.

"A half team thing is always interesting at least from solid verbal level and also the schedule. I think the schedule does offer some curb appeal. They play a lot of good teams if nothing more it should be for interesting. Tv with me cunningham. It was words out of my mouth third. Tv team tv. They're competitive against notre dame. They get blown out by name your team. They lose by two touchdowns to virginia like they are a. You don't know who you're going to get every week. Which again totally infuriating. If you're a football fan but in terms of looking at the scoreboard and seeing that a random game is thirty one. Thirty with four minutes left. There's a good chance louisville's going to be involved in that hundred percent against somebody bad. It could be somebody excellent. Yeah but it's it's a very formidable. Acc schedule it's clemson. It's got florida state. North carolina state a non conference schedule that inevitably will make things worse than they are because week. One ole miss the close out the season against kentucky. So it's just a lot of things are kind of working against them here. They've ucf to right. I believe so. Yeah you see yeah. Lula's ucf they have. I mean will get to. Ucf later on in this episode. But to have matt corral and dylan gabriel to open the season in to her first three weeks then makenzie melton who could potentially be really strong in three of your first four weeks coming up with. I'm not coming off of throwing a pretty bad if we're going to believe twenty twenty to whatever extent play defense. That's what it's a lot. It's a lot lot so interesting. Tv show if nothing more. Yeah vegas has the over under at six and a half for wolfville. People are hitting the overfull. I think six and a half the right number. More people are hitting the over. The under i could see anywhere from five and seven up to nine and three. Get really crazy with it. I don't believe that. I say seventy five. Oh man i say seventy five. I see too much turnover on both sides of the football. And it just not enough support for me cunningham to one higher than that. So gimme gimme seven and five over by hair and interesting. Tv but not the kind of cornerstone season. That i mean scott. Satterfield was glowing about this team. Now glowing don't i don't care about losing guys from a disappointing team and whether it's turnovers whether it's the defense giving up big plays i don't care about that as much as all. But they've been recruiting really well. Oh this receivers really been popping. This is like the next two to this is the next whatever dez short of that is very hard to see them. Winning a bunch of forty seven forty three games without those options wide without the next. Jv and hawkins without you know me cunningham. Taking a really nice step forward in terms of protecting the ball so yeah. That doesn't bother me that they lose players. I mean everybody loses players. I mean between you know declaring and graduation and transfer portal like. That's just going to be normal is just more turnover than usual normal seasons but man. Yeah really wish they'd been finding those high three star guys in florida that that pop but we'll say let me go over to syracuse. This'll be a bionic one. I'm wearing the shirt or poor. Had use i support. The cues went one and ten lashes won one game. And we've had people asking us in our cuny's shows dino should be fired now. There were a ton of injuries. The offensive line was in shambles. Didn't go well. I take it as a very bad sign that the opening handful of paragraphs in the athletics syracuse preview feature dino babar's looking to the bible for inspiration for this coming season. Now look as your staunch anti bible and continue no disrespect at all to the to the wonderful texts. That is the bible okay. I'll tell all i'm saying is if that's where they start with the preview and if it has gotten to that level for dino babies where we're now like kind of leaning on the held a bit more than we should you gotta go with whatever you can get tie though right. You've got to exhaust all i just. I took that as a very ominous sign for where where things are headed. I hope it works. I know he's a man of faith. I hope he's able to find inspiration however can ernest thing around. Because i liked a lot but i found that as a very telling symbol of where this program's at I read through the phil steele preview. Phil steele was surprised that they retained dino babar's people who've written into us our surprise as well so we'll see the a lot of money zone a lot of the over under four syracuse years. Three and most people are most people are qb though right that's something garrett schrader. Yeah remember him yeah. He was a blue chip moorhead recruit. I believe yet mississippi state. He's a big kid. You can put them on the move. I mean he's got to be better than tommy defeat. Oh your boy. Don't say that that's such army nickname that i regret. He's got to be better than tommy. Devito excuse me. I but like there's experience all over the place. This is one of those cases that you referenced earlier the ton of experience the brubeck nineteen guys now. Is that good..
