"Room so people can pull over if they've been to get a flat tire I think there's only so much road you can put a shoulder on I I think that's kind of what they're doing right now but I agree with you I mean because if you do get stuck like you said you can't just turn around it's an interstate you can go in the opposite direction you can't trust the media and go sell do are you a because it's a vendor so you can't do that so I sixty five so yes it would be helpful. before sixty five is is. yeah there is closing down for sixty five as we can. one of the red wine. look around. there is war no there's more construction for sixty four yeah sorry about your look you're beech Grove southeast side right now we're going to be losing at south bound for sixty five with about four sixty five you know I kind of looked around turn into westbound lanes that's gonna be shutting down tonight at nine PM from I seventy eight I sixty five this big time especially with a particular race coming into town this weekend man for about a week and a half of paradise they got everything your on your able to commute it was a wonderful life was good on the southeast side as ice cube would say nobody even got into a Walmart fight today was a good. but now you're telling me that we're gonna have to do this crap all over again that's right yeah yeah and this is at least on my radar here the moon with a skin all this change but this is the last major major major closure of the construction season that I have right now that that doesn't matter. bear in a by the way all those red lines are coming back to all those lines no I'm yeah this is the last one of my radio right now but that doesn't mean we're not going to be doing we can work because they're still going to be going on but as far as major closures this is this is a big one too I mean whatever I remember when we did this a couple weeks ago on the other side we're doing the other side of the interstate now I mean the side streets were just a mass like Raymond in them or send and all those of people tried to go when years just to get around this closure is gonna be the same thing you can imagine my favorite thing is when that closure happen the first time around if you had to take the side street on Raymond if you are fortunate enough like I am every single time a train will stall. so not only are you logged backed up into traffic you gotta wait for this damn train sold on the tracks and thanks to the court ruling you can't even complain about. Mister Garfield park train right there it is man all right so all joking aside we are one full work week basically into the red line here everybody had Monday off but we're about a full work week into redline traffic how's it been honestly this week has been better I mean this week has been better than when they're actually trading let's say that because that's what we had all those wrecks on capitol Avenue with everything else but this week I mean yeah the congestion there but it's going to be either it's it's not going anywhere originally we thought these were gonna be construction zones maybe get a leading backer to that's not going to be the case this congestion is going to remain in the red line zone so you know we have one of challenging capital in meridian that a little loop you're downtown with the transit center there and Fletcher Avenue on down to university of Indianapolis so yeah the I mean Shelby street so you know we have lots of these going on here at the moment can judge is going to remain the thing is we have to stay safe would margin on the capitol Avenue that means everything because that's where the northbound bus that is what about. boss is going the wrong way down a one way. is that so mad if your somebody that's.

"Worlds votes along Cicero. A you know, there's so many. Options. We have a great part system. We're very close to downtown. Just stay sat and you. Amazing to see the skyline almost reach out and touch it from. Yes. Yes. And that's I think what I think a lot of Chicagoans and people who might be listening right now. Are surprised and baffled? I mean when you see the Garfield park conservatory, and you know, how many tourists come through there. We just walked over there. And you see all the people coming out that that aren't living in the neighborhood, and you can reach out and touch and you've got the green line right here. You would think that this would be prime location for. I don't wanna say gentrification, but development. Yes. Why not? Yeah. And that's the thing. I think it just comes down to priorities. I think that the city has not had a habit of actually investing in an area until people are displaced, and that's one of the big charities. The land is valuable the homes are valuable. The question is always whether the people are valuable and so long as the people are not valued by the power structure by city government that you don't see the kinds of financial and economic investment, they could be truly transformative. But if he did it here mean, it would work like we have everything that we need to make this thriving and vibrant community while you're you're sandwiched in a way to as as the green line rumbles passes as we talk between oak park. Downtown. Yes. And there's something that I guess I it's a rhetorical question. But you just wonder about just when it comes to discrimination in areas when it comes to our economy and our housing to see this is a primarily black neighborhood and to see on the other side so park or downtown which would be primarily white neighborhoods or white businesses. They're getting development of the wazoo. But.

"Being gauged it'd be ready to learn Okay The district also adopted a new CPS local school wellness policy in June of two thousand. Seventeen the policy says lunches should be served between ten AM and two PM in accordance with annual scheduling guidance issued by the department of teaching and learning Mariam Prater an incoming senior at Westinghouse college prep. High I'm Franklin boulevard in. East Garfield park says her. Schools earliest lunch period begins around nine fifty as. Well Westinghouse twelve hundred and thirty eight students currently enrolled and light lane is a selective. Enrollment high school were relatively small school compared to, lane but we have four lunch periods and they're spread out throughout four periods on like lane, Westinghouse doesn't have an open campus while she personally hasn't been assigned to a nine fifty. Launch she has friends who have and she sees them bring extra food to school because once their lunch is, over they have to wait about five more classes before the days over to eat a full meal. Again so they're going to bring extra food because they can't survive on just the third. Period lunch Prater says some teachers at Westinghouse are okay with students eating a snack in, class. But Really depends on the type of class the teacher I know one of. My teachers whose policy was really really good you could only have healthy food in the class but it also, depends on which room you're in so if you're in the chemistry room science room there's no food. At all in there but language class there's a a more lenient policy so so the. Teachers are are are saying you can't eat this and you can't eat that in the, class Can only healthy stuff, somebody's challen down on a Snickers are they gonna get a detention Now We never had. The I just don't remember my. Schedules, we we had a. Weird you, know if you look up old If you look at all An old? Luther north schedule like what what it. Was so weird and confusing it wasn't like they, had these, things called quads I think were they called Maybe. Somebody who wants to lose the north like around, the time I went from, seventy nine? To eighty three and they had the. Schedule was just really weird they had they had. Made up like these time Frames And the. Schedule if you looked at your, schedule I it looked like a puzzle of some kind like you're trying to figure. Out, well wait a. Minute I'm what class of my in here and they split the timeframe like fifteen minute time, periods I. Think and you were in a classroom like three fifteen minute time, periods and then you'd switch over to. This and I think they were called quads like the time period now near, scheduled, Dan was? It was it just like a? Regular here's your schedule from one thirty to two to one thirty two to fifteen year in this, class, blah, blah, blah so. Forth, right. Right, yeah it was, a you, know a because the school they start at seven. Fifty the next period would be start at nine o'clock because it would go seven fifty, two eight. Fifty and then you get a few minutes to run back to your. Classroom things like that Forget. What the you know and then eventually it all Shaked out because we, had very short Did you have a combination launch an homeroom. No we had a combination lunch so that was our that was one period during the, day all I see twenty minutes to eat your launch and then. And that's. When. Your. Home what. Happened, and then you'd, get twenty minutes to be home row I see okay okay I see yeah I don't, remember but, we had was just a it was the set up was I think the setup the schedule. The way they scheduled it and how they. Figured out the time line and they use these this turn called quads, or something like that I think that was unique to Luther north Yeah I've never heard, of that and it was weird I remember just be and. You know I remember when incoming students would like new students would come in they'd go, what the hell is this they get their scheduling look and we. Were used. To. It. You know. Like, after freshman year, like halfway through freshman year you're you're like okay I get the quad at the time, system and, I may be getting the terms wrong I'm not sure 'cause you know obviously I went to, school longtime ago but if anybody who's a. Luther north graduate and you remember the weird Scheduling that they did just very odd scheduling and these things called quads or whatever. Time periods they. Called and and, you if you looked at your schedule, it just didn't look like a regular schedule like you go this way And it was just weird Texters and caller said it was. Called. Modules at Luther north, okay so, maybe. My modules we're quads quads maybe where you're, like a detention qua- oh you, know what would make sense but he's. A. Quarter, of an, hour, yeah well I guess yeah I guess I don't. Know what they're saying modules I don't know why the word quad. Is stuck in my, head but, if anybody else you know has this strange sort of memory about the very unusual in weird scheduling process that used, to happen at Luther north I love to hear from. You but it always, turned out, that lunchtime was at a regular time again we were small school so we didn't have to accommodate nine thousand kids So all right let's take a quick break we'll come back and we'll. Talk more about this if anybody was Lutheran, earth, graduate or, went to. School around the time I did and and has more clear remembrance of the weirdness of the time schedule? You can give us a call three. One nine eight. One seven hundred and what do, you guys think about this kids eating at nine fifteen in the. Morning, or nine fifty and that's supposed to be their lunch I don't know I mean I guess? Sometimes you got to do that to. Accommodate what's happening Yeah so I just think it's. Weird three one two nine eight one seven two hundred is the. Phone number, we'll take a quick break and we'll come back after this.
