Volpe's first career grand slam powers Yanks to 11-3 rout in sweep of lowly A's

"There were a few hitting stars as the Yankees crushed the a's 11 to three to complete a three game sweep. Rookie Anthony volpe launched his first career Grand Slam to highlight a 7 run 5th. I knew I got a pretty good bud. Honestly, never know. But it was nice to see you over. There are some Bader three run Homer, put the yanks up four nothing in the first, and Aaron judge reached base four times for three hits in a walk, scoring twice. Starter Johnny bruto fell two out shy of the victory. Jimmy Cordero retired 5 to get the win, and David Garcia picked up a three inning save, losing pitcher Kyle Mueller allowed 6 runs over four plus innings. I'm Dave ferry.

"The foreign relations committee in the House of Representatives. Did a hearing on our withdrawal, our botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. And it was emotional. It was jaw dropping, there's nothing that was maybe newly revealed, but to listen to how this administration failed, the men and women of our military and also our allies was pretty stunning. Take a listen. This is video cut 6. This is a marine sniper sergeant Tyler Vargas Andrews who gave testimony yesterday. Take a listen. When he got to me, he dragged me to safety and immediately started triaging me tying tourniquets on my limbs and doing anything he could have stopped the bleeding and start plugging wounds with the help of the other marines. I was awake through most of it, screaming, moaning, and cursing. Please ask, I ask you to please ask me about getting shot at the tower in Abbey gate and how no one wanted my report post blast. Even NCIS and the FBI fell to interview me. Asked me to elaborate on my ordeal post blast and asked me about this one little girl and her family that I reunited. Our military members and veterans deserve our best because that is what we give to America. The withdrawal, the withdrawal was a catastrophe in my opinion. And there was an inexcusable lack of accountability and negligence. The 11 marines, one sailor, and one soldier that were murdered that day have not been answered for.

Matt Boyle is here. You can give him a follow on truth social at real Matt Boyle and Matt, thanks for being with us and welcome to America first. Hey, thanks for having me. It is great to have you now. You sat down with Kevin McCarthy and I know this is a two parter, right? There's going to be more information coming, but I was really happy to hear he says that these tapes are going to be available to the public, not just to Tucker because those really are our tapes, aren't they? Yes. So look, there's a whole ton of other stuff that we talked about during the interview. That will come out of the coming days and weeks. It takes our team a lot of time to make these perfect and get them all ready to roll. We talked about all sorts of things like that ceiling China immigration, the cartels, all sorts of stuff like that. All that stuff's coming. But the big thing we had to get it out immediately because this is in the news is that this is the most in depth interview, the speaker's done since he made the decision to authorize the release of the capital security tapes from January 6th. The surveillance video to Tucker Carlson. So I asked him, you know, for the logic and the reasoning why he decided to do so. He argued that it's in the interest of transparency and the public deserves to see what happened there and whether or not it fits with the narrative that the January 6th committee is putting forward or that they put forward. They are defunct committee now. They're totally shut down because the new Republican majority ended the thing. But then in addition to that, I also asked him if intends to release them publicly. And he said they do. There's 42,000 hours, he said, which is a lot more than the $14,000 that the committee staff said. Last Congress that there was. So they're going through all the footage right now. And they're removing things like secret doors, security reasons stuff, right? Like they can't release that stuff, totally understandable. We don't need to know where the leadership gets taken in a crisis or something like that. Probably probably a better thing that that stuff doesn't come out. But everything they can release, they do intend to release to the public. And

How Chicago elects a mayor, and why a winner may take weeks

"Chicago was holding an election today for mayor, but it will likely take weeks and a runoff election before a winner is declared. 9 candidates are competing for a chance to be Chicago's next mayor. That includes current mayor Lori Lightfoot seeking her second term to win the office outright a candidate needs to receive more than 50% of the vote. That's unlikely with such a large field, so the race is expected to go to an April 4th runoff between the top two vote getters. The election is officially nonpartisan and has not considered or called a primary, though all the candidates call themselves Democrats. "He's just got to hope that come January 7th that Davis is successful against Garcia as we've talked about, not the easiest fight in the world. And by the way, he may have kind of come out of nowhere Garcia, but he is undefeated. He was an Olympian, and he's got, like you said, two great upsets in a row. That people didn't really give him a chance to win. And he's earned the shot about Davis. I mean, against Davidson, what I like about Hector Luis Garcia is that after he beat Gutierrez in this past summer, he automatically right after like within days of that fight was calling out tank Davis. I'll go up to one 35 and fight him. If he wants to come down to one 30 and challenge me for my title, no problem. He's wanted this fight as soon as he got that belt. He may have even wanted it before he got the belt. So he's motivated and hungry for this fight. He also knows the kind of chaos that he can deal out to these guys if he derails javonte tank Davis. Yeah, it's not the same thing, but there could be a little beeville Canelo vibe to it in a way. Like are we discounting Hector Luis Garcia coming into this fight? I mean, Garcia physically is the bigger guy. Not that that's ever been a problem for tank before, but he's not coming in this undersized guy who's just gonna get swarmed and overwhelmed. I think this is a good fight. I'm looking forward to it on January 7th. All right, last weekend, we had a terrific fight on showtime. Frank Martin, he beats Michelle Rivera. This was viewed Dan coming in as a 50 50 type of fight or maybe 60 40 in favor of Martin. It was like 95 5 in favor of Martin when it was over. He drops Rivera in the 7th round. He wins. A lopsided decision. I thought it was an incredibly impressive performance by Frank mard that made me believe he's ready for a lot of a lot of things next year at a 135 pounds. What did you think? I agree with everything you said. I've liked Frank Martin for the last couple of years since I've seen him on some undercards going back, probably two years ago. I've been impressed by him. He has a good amateur background. He has obviously a good team behind him, you know, training with Derek James and being at the side of aerospace and Charlotte in the training camp. So he's got that going for him. He's also not 22 years old. He's already like 27, so he's as a person more mature. And it just looked like when you watch him like this guy's going places in a pretty good way that they didn't have to give him 2025 fights to get him prepared. He was still in the teens in terms of his total number of bouts, but they're willing to move quickly. He wants to move quickly and he showed against Rivera that there was a reason for that. And by the way, Rivera, who's younger than he was, you know, didn't shy away from taking this kind of fight either. So I give both guys credit. Listen, Frank Martin, when it was all said and done, he did exactly what he said he was going to do.

"So let him go get his, you know, his skills sharp, sharpened up in the gym and, you know, do the roadwork getting shape and focus on Davis and fight that big mega fight in April. He doesn't need to fight in January, just for whatever reason, just so his promoters can make some money. Yeah, if this fight was going to be at the 136 pound limit that the tank Davis fight is scheduled to be at. I would understand it to a certain degree. It could almost operate kind of as a staging ground for Ryan to get ready, make that weight in a healthy manner. And then do it that way. But this was going to be at a full fledged one 40. And so there's no upside there. And as far as the finances go, Ryan's not going to miss that money. Ryan's not. Ryan makes a lot of money outside the ring. He's not going to miss whatever he was going to make for the Mercedes Benz to fight. He's doing just fine financially with everything's got going on. Outside of social media following alone generates a lot of money for him. So it's not an issue of money for him. And look, if he and Joe goosen believe it's better for him to stay in the gym for an extra couple of months to just hone in on javonte Davis, then I'll take their word for it. I agree with you. I think Davis deserves all the credit in the world, not just for taking a fight before a mega fight against Ryan García. But for taking on someone as challenging as Hector Luis Garcia, I mean, it's a guy coming off two big wins in 2022. He beat Chris Colbert. He beat Raj Gutierrez. I think bob Santos, his trainer has a case to be made to be trainer of the year this year. This is a real fight for javonte Davis on January 7th. One that could derail a multi multi-million dollar fight against Ryan García, but he's going through it and do it with it and deserves credit for it. But at the same time, I'm with you. Ryan doesn't deserve any criticism for saying he doesn't want to fight. My issue with tank is this nonsense. He keeps spewing about Ryan testing Orion being on PEDs. Like you can't just, you can't just throw that shit into the universe. You can't. Like, more importantly, like not only is Ryan said, I'll do advanced testing for our fight, golden boy said the same thing. There still is no contract yet for Garcia versus tank in April. That's still in the PBC side of the ledger. But when that comes through, both golden boy and Garcia have told me that they want advanced testing for that fight. So I don't know why. It's like tank sees one picture of Ryan on social media and he's like, all right, well, this guy's definitely doing something. I don't even know where that came from because, you know, you and I both know there are certain guys where the rumors are always been that maybe they're using and maybe it looks like they're using. Ryan García was never one of those guys where like even, I mean, you never know for sure what goes on behind the Jim doors or whatever with any of these guys. But he was, he was not somebody that would come to my mind that was using PEDs. I just don't, I just don't buy that really. And but to bring that up with zero credibility or shred of evidence is low class and not called for. You want to insult his mother or tell him he's this or he's not.

"Welcome to I said no gift I'm bridger Weiner. Here we are at the beginning of the podcast I'm coming in with a new energy that I don't like. I don't know what I'm doing with my voice right now or how I'm communicating with you the listener and I apologize. So I think this is just a result of waking up 20 minutes earlier than usual today, which has thrown off my rhythm entirely. I've tried napping twice the caffeine consumption is all over the map. I haven't had dinner I've had a third of a granola bar, please bear with me. I'm glad you're here. I hope you're not involved in any illegal activity or committing a crime. But if you are, now this podcast is keeping you keeping your cool and allowing you to commit the crime in a way that you won't be caught and you'll be able to get whatever you need. Okay, here we are. It's the beginning of the podcast, as I said before, so we should introduce the guest. I love the guest. I think the guess is so funny and you're going to love the guest. It's Chris Garcia, Chris. Welcome to I said, no gifts. Bridget, thank you for having me. I for one love this energy. Kind of like an air from the 20s or something. It sounds very like your Friends are The Great Gatsby. It's a nice energy. And I think you wear a well. You wear it quite well. Thank you for having me. Oh, I'm so happy to have you. And yeah, I usually wake up about 7 o'clock and today I think I woke up at 6 30 and the effect it's had on my entire personality, just the way I've operated throughout the day, it's been chaos from beginning to end. So it's nice. See someone who's, you seem like you're in a better place than me, right? Maybe. We'll see. We'll see about that. What have you been doing with your day? Well, jeez. I woke up. Let's see, I woke up at 7 ten today, so it's not a competition, but competition, I got an extra 40 minutes. You know, I rode the peloton for an extra 5 minutes than I usually do that at ten minutes. So actually 20. So I have that type of, I feel like it's kind of changed my energy today to 5 extra minutes on this low impact ride that I did today. And then just wrote and hung up, I have a new baby hung out with a baby a little bit. And that's about it. Nothing too crazy. Nothing too crazy. This sounds like a lovely day. And we've got two things, however you want to discuss. I want to discuss the peloton. I want to discuss the new baby, let's start with the exercise. What I have yet to be on one of these machines. How long have you had yours? I've had mine for about a year, maybe two years now? No, maybe a year and a half. I'm losing track of time. A year and a half, got it at the beginning of the pandemic. They were on back order, so it took 6 months. I'm saying it's not this past summer, but the summer before that. Okay. And has it been an enjoyable purchase? It's been hanging clothes a lot, and it's been, I was really excited about it, like it was going to be like a life-changing thing. I've yet to accomplish, I think my hundredth ride, which is not like I use it very much, but in the last two weeks, I've resolved to use it more. And so I'm getting back on it, and it's been I'm doing three or four rides a week, and it's been okay. Just getting a little exercise has changed my mental health for the better, I would say. Right. A thing with the peloton for me is I have no idea where in my home I would put it. Where are you keeping yours? Right here between, we're getting a little dead and the wall. Oh my God, it was in the room the whole time. I feel like it's been eavesdropping. Yeah, it's listening in. But also got you a gift. Yeah, it's definitely not a sexy place for a peloton is in your bedroom. But we have a small place and we're working, we're working with it. Yeah. It kind of makes I feel like anytime you see a peloton ad, it kind of is in the bedroom. But maybe I'm wrong. That does, it feels like a place you would put it. I mean, you don't want it in the living room. I mean, unless you're someone who has just so many rooms that they can just throw exercise equipment into a random room. You've got to kind of make a choice of it being kind of this bike that's just sitting in the middle of a room at shouldn't occupy. Got it right, better jokes before I get a peloton room, I think. I got it. Eventually you're going to have that room and you're going to have just a whole line of pelotons to choose from. My own studio. My own studio will be fun. Now, when you're on this bike, do you listen to your own music or is it like, are they deciding on the music? I'm at the mercy of the peloton instructor, which could go either way, and I always forget to check. So I got a two red hot chili pepper and an uncle cracker. The other day. That's Jack FM. That's very Jack at them. And it was torturous, but I have decided that I'm not going to change. Once I get on the bike, I'm not changing the ride. I'm just going to stick to it. As almost like an exercise in mental toughness. So I've done that, right? I also did Christmas music last week by accident. And I just sat through it. And I was like, you know what? I'm just going to play it as it lies. And I'm going to do that. But sometimes a peloton instructors are want to be DJs and DJs are bad enough, but someone that wants to be a DJ, and they can play some pretty terrible stuff and for some reason I haven't been listening to my own music. I think I'm just trying to let go of a person that is growing as a person allowing someone else to make that choice for you. The Christmas one is the peloton instructor dressed in like Christmas clothes? Yeah, no, that's Santa Belfort. It was called a stocking stuffer or something. And I was like, I didn't really even pay attention to it. But that's not like the preview like the little image had like an elf on it or anything. That would have tipped me off, but I should have known by it. No, it's called a stacking stop for a stuffer. And I was like, I don't even know what this means. What does that mean? Stacking stuffer? Well, I guess it's a ride you could stack with other rides. And I was like, oh no. And what sort of are they playing like Bing Crosby or is it like high energy? Pretty much binge crust. It's like you're just walking around the Americana, but you're trying to get trying to lose a couple LBs. Just walking around the fountain. Yeah. Oh, that sounds deeply distressing. Music when I'm working. I go to a gym once a week and sometimes the music is, I feel like they're putting it on to convince me to beg there are moments where I'm like, if I paid you more, would you stop playing this music? Like the last time I was there, there was like a metal cover of Lady Gaga's bad Roman. And it puts you in the worst possible mood. And I'm already feeling bad. I'm already kind of angry that I might have been there. It's a.

"There isn't boxing until late in the january I mean god. It's brian garcia above. All the others in the division has the world is at his feet because of that social media following. And he doesn't he. Almost he could almost put his fights on youtube but not need linear television anymore. Or linnea media. It's it's so extraordinary. It's just it's just. I find it staggering and i think as i say failed truly woke by what he produced on on saturday night and i think it was reflected in the excitement. We all had on the broadcast and the deluge of caca phoniness noise in the major. Look i think. I think that garcia behind five by phil thanks but Yeah look i can see. I would take garcia overseas. Wants the pandemic lifts. I would absolutely start to make him a global star. No question about it jake. Let me ask you about about your vodka. Because i look at your vaunting away. In a similar way i look at loma changsha whereas at one thirty gervasi is really tough to beat. His power is legit at one thirty in the handful of times he's moved up to one thirty five. It hasn't been quite the same. And maybe that's he's not. He was going up because he was overweight at one. Thirty wasn't naturally filling up to one thirty five. What do you think of your vont at one. Thirty five because he starts a square off with garcia taffy. Mo- any of those top. Your guys even devon haney. He's going to be out of significant size disadvantage going into those fights. Yeah that's a very good point and the only the only time. I've really seen him as light. It was a very undisciplined performance against your camposano. Feel like that's a true measurement of capable of as i mentioned he's training through the holidays trying to give the perception that you know he's taken weser. I believe he is. I think he sees the superstar. That's you know in the realm within grasp especially because the fight wrangler by the same clean out winter. I'm a big fan of like if you're good at your weight you clean out that vision. He has a pathway to clean out. One hundred thirty pounds because it doesn't have a lot of options even within. Pbc birds there. I'm going to keep talking about a fight with gary russell. That's not gonna make sense unless you could do it in baltimore. Dc and you can't do that fight fans are back. So why would you put that fight behind. Closed doors in connecticut or even in texas where you know. It's not really attractions. Either guys. fan. Base although davis cantrell anywhere so i i would like to see him find a way we just clean out one thirty and then one thirty five by my drink. Scenario one thirty five is that rangel does by devin haney next. If he beats him taffy mellow pests is not sticking around at this much longer. One to to fight stops. He wants to fight three times this year. My guest is by the ears already. Fight one twenty. "As far as i'm concerned gareth what are you thinking in the uk watching garcia. Go down in that second round because sitting ringside like i almost feel the keyboard warriors. Start to warm up and right like hyped social media sensation. You guys made too much of him. What were you thinking watching that happen. Well i think apart from the fact that it was a cuff cocco phony asli remarkable performance I think in all honesty. I think if you look at the weaknesses of ryan garcia. He fights with his chin very high for a start. So it's not without kind of substance that luke campbell is not only a very tough fighter. But he's a very accomplished. Fighter is the most decorated amateur in british boxing history. And as you say he'd gone twelve very tough rounds with two elite level performance in hauling aris the brilliant venezuelan and also a vassal michenko. Who know almost too much about I think in many ways. I do agree with you and i think you said it on the broadcast and i think we we agreed with you. This was the birth of a very young superstar and his future opponents. How small the rain also saw his future. Opponents may see that chin tucked in a lot more in future and he may be a lot harder to hit when he explodes. And i think that's one of the big learning curves champions heart to get up because he was buzzed. There's no question about it and not only that. I didn't agree with you as much. I mean i thought campbell fought back vary very gamely and i gave him another round. After he'd been hurt in the fifth i think. Ryan garcia has. It's all and i think we've seen that's all students as well. I think coming in on the throne. As king aka a tyson fury against yonsei waldron february twenty third in las vegas was a very bold. Move which may have backfired. But in fact. I think ryan garcia in calling out very powerfully. Devin haney and devante davis since is proving that he ain't you know just a modern choirboy. Look kid from california he has genuine equalizing power that he truly believes in and those backing him believe it and i think we are in for an extraordinarily exciting career. He may be knocked out a couple of times but he is going to have the biggest fights on earth. He's got more followers than the best boxers in the world. Put together at the moment on social media. So i think we are in for an extraordinary rise with him. If that's enough of a of an intro online garcia let me follow up with you gareth. You're right. I think fifty seven fifty six at the time of the stoppage. I had fifty eight fifty five. If i could change one way. I framed and i think at one point that at the start of the sixth after the fifth round heard ryan was dominating he wasn't really dominant he was. He was winning on the cards on my my scorecard but luke was absolutely game in every one of those rounds. When you look back at campbell's performance was there more he could have done..

"That for a second because look it's anecdotal but in the northeast area. I work out of boxing gyms and some of the guys. I work out with talk about how kids were teenagers. Want to watch ran garcia. Like i probably saw him on instagram and then gravitated towards him because his style is so fan-friendly he is and again this is anecdotal but he is bringing out. I think a legitimate new fan base. These are young. Boxing fans that are tuning in to watch him that are following him and i both know these are the fans that boxing has struggled mightily at times to attract on a permanent basis. What would a successful ryan garcia mean to boxing in your mind. I mean if he's able to not only beat luke campbell but let's say in twenty twenty one. He beats devon haney and tank davis to the top guys in hundred and thirty five pounds of his. You it's a lot to ask. We know ryan is is clamoring for that tag davis spite and evan haney is clamoring for the ryan garcia fight. And i think both those fights at least the haney fight theoretically could happen in the first half of twenty twenty one. But what would that mean for boxing. Like i don't wanna put too much pressure on the guy. But i look at him lance as being one of if not one of the rare crossover type of stars maybe the biggest crossovers having the biggest crossover potential since oscar de la hoya when della was always on the talk shows always doing you kinda mainstream type of things. It's not disrespectful to deployed or manny. They just weren't those types. We manny in part because the english. Barry jimmy kimmel stuff every so often but not not a regular base in floyd. Floyd made a lot of money being the villain right. People watched him to see him lose not necessarily to see him win. What would a successful ryan. Garcia mean for the sport. Yeah i mean it'd be huge for you. Know not just the fact that he has this existing audience. that is rising by the day. Chris and it's obviously going to build based on what he does saturday night. But like you said. I mean there's probably not a more exciting division when you look at the future of the division then lightweight when you when you factor in the names of devante davis and devin haney and even tia fema lopez being around there. Yes you know. These fights may ultimately take place at one forty but this is like this is like a decade's worth of Action to come and ryan garcia With his existing popularity has basically the opportunity to be the torchbearer and the guy who is is driving the most of pay per view buys or subscriptions or whatever it takes you know clicks on our stories because of that popularity. You're absolutely right. I mean i can. I've been approached by friends who had daughters you know. Hey are you going to a gym to see a ryan garcia. Can we tag along with you. I've got friends who have a young kids. When is that kid garcia fighting again. Because they've seen him out here In indio california. And that buzz around this kid and his awareness of of what drives popularity and the charisma that he shows is. I mean. the future is limitless for this guy. He just needs to keep winning These kind of fights and obviously it starts with the luke campbell. I think ryan garcia is the most important fighter this century for boxing. I really do because for all the reasons you articulated and it goes back. It sort of goes back to that young fan base like the nba. Sport that i cover as well..

"Nosso talk with them. They worked out a cooperative arrangement. Where the head trainer. But henry garcia is on board as the number two. And i think that's brought even more out of ryan garcia. Where do you do again. You've seen a lot of guys like how do you view garcia's talent. I think it's what's really interesting about. Ryan garcia is that he's involved in a lot of things. I mean like you mentioned the social media you mentioned like some of the are at least some of the tmz episodes that he's been involved in You know the the baby mama drama that he's involved in and all of that we say like oh us lance hasn't had baby mama drama happens. Well we sports writers. Maybe we have know Yes you know. I think the the thing is is that he walks is high wire of everything. Going on in a lot of us are a lot of the outsiders who are look at ryan garcia's are saying like. Oh he's going to be distracted by any one of these things but the truth is is that i think ryan garcia when he's in the gym. He's paying attention the boxing when he's in the presence of eddie ray now so he soaking up everything that he can possibly hear from this man. Same thing when he's rubbing shoulders with the stablemate canelo alvarez. They've built up a great friendship. That certainly ryan has capitalizing upon and listen to To become a better fighter. And you're absolutely right. I can remember. Chris being out here in southern california there were some i would say appears of ryan garcia who mentioned those flaws in his game. I can think of a conversation i had with. Daniel franko franco out here in his father. Al who trains them and they would say like. I don't think ryan's gonna make it. But like you said he'd looked he'd look. You took an honest assessment of where he was. He joined forces with eddie ray now so to make himself a better fighter and again i see with What this fight against campbell. He is a. He is aware of what he needs to do to win. This fight and i think you will see a completely prepared ryan garcia for this stiffest a test of his career. Yeah one thing. I'm eager to learn about garcia's what happens. After the first round like he's he's four no in his four fights with eddie renault so but the last two. The two toughest tests have ended after less than one round of peace. So i'll look luke. Campbell may get stopped. I'd be shocked if you've got stopped in the first round..
