Bloomberg radio My extra special guest this week you know him you love him you've read all of his books bestselling author Michael Lewis He has written so many seminal books so many seminal tomes on Wall Street from liar's poker the new new thing The big short flash boys the premonition on and on and on it goes he is out with season three of his podcast against the rules and he also created a series of short discussions about liar's poker which celebrated its 30th anniversary right before the pandemic you can get that either as an audiobook the print book or listen to the audio companion that he's put out on other people's money Michael Lewis welcome back to Bloomberg Good to hear your voice Same here same here So for the people who may not be familiar with you let's just do a brief background You graduate from Princeton and you head to Wall Street to make your fortune where you are pretty much rejected you don't get by Lehman Brothers but eventually through a crazy story you tell and liars poker you end up at what actually is the hottest firm in the world Solomon brothers how soon after you arrived at Sally did you realize this is a really unusual place Well I'll tell you I tell you two stories and you can decide which one is true because I actually don't remember The first story is I told myself I thought I told myself look I know I want to be a writer but no one's paying me to be a writer And I can get $90 an article writing for The Economist of The Wall Street Journal op-ed page or I can go take this job for a huge pile of money I can make some money And then figure out how to be a writer I think that's what was on my mind But I walk in I knew even before I walk into the place that it was a really interesting place I mean if you just go back and look at how much at Solomon's profits compared to the rest of Wall Street in say 1983 84 it was like they made more money than all the rest of Wall Street It was just that you were clearly in some other business even if you didn't know what it was you'd say something's weird is going on here And I get there And it's raucous I mean it's crazy that the training program is a frat house that the trading floor isn't even better for our House It's intellectually stimulating It's actually the false kind of presentation of Wall Street at the time was that these investment bankers that people in the investment banking department start out as analysts then become associates and work their way up to vice presidents They are meeting with CEOs and they're doing the M and a transaction and all that That that's where the actual intellectual life was That if you were a really good student that's where you went And if you were like just had greasy elbows you went to the trading floor You had already published a column at The Wall Street Journal while you were working at Sally that got you into trouble that had the most hilarious resolution tell us about the compromise that was reached when you published under your own name Maybe a year and a half into my journey there I published an article in the op-ed page of The Wall Street Journal Arguing that investment bankers were overpaid And it said at the bottom Michael Lewis is an associate at Solomon brothers in London I was so excited I was in The Wall Street Journal I thought when I came in the next day people would be slapping around the back going wow You got to teach the journal of that I thought I thought everybody could be happy for me And I roll in to the London office in the next morning And Charlie McVeigh who I had adored who ran the whole Solomon brothers international and had been the one who hired me was waiting at my desk Ash and faced And he hadn't slept And he said we've had meetings with the board of directors overnight about your piece Because it's being apparently going to be reprinted all over the country and people are talking about a client And he said he said you can't I mean my God you've created a crisis And now you would think oh Michael you're fired there as the next line But actually this is the backstory I was in a very odd position I had at that point maybe the second or third biggest customer of the whole firm who would speak only to me And the guy who ran money there thought it was amusing He said well nobody knows anything You want to at least try to sell me stuff As long as you don't try to sell me stuff he said I'll do my business through you And he made me like the most successful salesman in the London office overnight He was just channeling a huge volume through me and would refuse to speak with anyone else at the firm including John goodfriend the chairman when he would show up in London You could say I only talked to Michael I had this situation where he was generating $10 million of profits for Solomon brothers They weren't going to fire me because of him And so it was sort of like how do we deal with this problem The.

"It was pretty funny words. Yeah, it was pretty obvious to me. I thought also very interesting that She always knew Gronk was going to come back. We kind of thought that he was only gonna come back and he was with tongue. But she thought that no matter what He was going to come back. It just was a dependent. We're just gonna depend on how many years he took off. So that's kind of interesting that when he left the Patriots, his intent was always Come back to football, especially. Yeah, I mean, that's thinks. If you're wrestling things that certainly seemed like he was transitioning that way, Pete. But What's odd about that? Is her saying, No, that she was only shocked about it. Only being a one year where look, we saw Whitney come back. If they're one year in the broadcast booth, where I kind of feels like, if you're not going to come back after one year, the longer you're away from it. Forget your desire to come back. How many teams? I mean, If Frank's gone to three years or teams long enough to sail, we gotta bring crock back because the longer you're away from the game, that shelf life kind of drives up where teams think you could still bring it? Yep. No, it's kind of weird to think that Gronk would've been retired this past season. And then come back next season like playing. We're staying two years away from the game. We're three years away from the game, but She said. So I mean, let's let's be honest. Gronckle left, Gronk retired because He was sick of the Patriots. He wanted to still play football. He had to give his body a rest, but he wanted to still play football. He just didn't want to play for Bill. That's the obvious subtext there. Of course. Now look, his body was taking a beating. And I'm sure his body did one arrest. But what do you have taken that rest with his body? Had he not been basically drained? By the bill. Bill checks stuff up, or he could take off a year or two. But he was not gonna go back to New England when he returned to football. He was not going back to the Patriots. So let's just say Tom Brady retired last season. Or let's just say wherever Brady went, they didn't have the cap space for Gronk. He was not. His choice is not to go back to the Patriots. That's for damn sure. No, no. And I will say about Garak. It has to go as I was not aware this part of it that she was a patriot cheerleader. Probably a lot of people were aware I never knew that she was. It just feels like that. It's so like drunk represents, like the high school player in the NFL, right. Like every big athlete we do in the NFL. I mean in high school, right that like classic dating the cheerleader. It's as if Kerak was back to being a varsity athlete. New England had the date the cheerleader. I'm glad they are happy, but it's just like if you were to tell me any player in the NFL ended up dating a cheerleader of their NFL team isn't drunk. The obvious answer? Yeah. Feels like rock is like a swollen blown up high school job shoves us nerds in the lockers, right? I'd get a wedgie. It feels really she's really bright, though, and really fun to talk to. You know, I heard some interviews with her before, so I knew that she was quick and she was She was smart and everything like that, But I mean, even have her here on the show. Tell those stories. He's got a good background, a good story, and I like that idea that she kind of pitched herself to Sports Illustrated, Cause you could only imagine. Model agents that battle with s I editors to get their their models on the cover, because I mean, that's your life is set. Your career is set. Your money is set for life if you were in s I swimsuit cover model. And she pitched herself. That's pretty cool. That's really close. That's a cool back story. How about her mom? Not believing in her and being a lacrosse player? My mom believes in me after every wedding Fort. I mean, come. Yes, Mom won't even believer that you proves it goes in comes Captain wins the championship. It's unbelievable. It was pretty cool. The On on Evans since he was get the ball back to half you know, what are you doing? Just let them run the clock out. You get the ball back. It's an eight point game. You could tie it up you realize was the first time in Super Bowl history. That a Team scored all the touchdowns of players that weren't on the previous year's roster. I did not know that make sense. Yeah, it was the first time you said there's a lot of first and that's where the something's about circles is. It's a unique game outside of almost any other scope. But, yeah, that was the first time in Super Bowl history that you had Touchdowns. All your touchdowns were scored by players that weren't on the roster the previous year. So you had two from Garak. You had one for maybe, and then you have a letter for net also or touch, and I didn't even think about that. Yeah, even on the roster at the start of the year. Like that's that's how wild that is. None of the other grand quest, But when did he joined was a right away was early on. He was before the train is unfortunately camp. Okay, so he was the only one that was like, early on. And then? Yeah. Leonard Floyd letter for that was later And then maybe he was like, mid season, right? Yeah, That was the first time it was also as well. You know, we'll get into a little bit later on in the next segment. More so about the pressures it was the most pressures ever on opposing quarterback is suitable histories. "Is like not like, um, funny guy for said. He's just really funny to be around. Um, like he'll say something that's like not funny at all. And he'll just start cracking up at his own joke and so like you're not really laughing at what he said your car just laughing like his laugh. Um, but he just had so much energy and he's so he's such a joy to be around. Um, you know, I love me and his team mate this year and super thankful and happy that way brought him in Tampa Cavern break talking about the guy whose personality is larger than life and who's a very happy man to be back with Tom Brady trying now to win 1/4 Super Bowl here today. Welcome back to the Super Bowl edition of NFL Preview alongside Tony Boselli, Scott Graham and Tony. I know you had an opportunity to talk with Garak this week. Yes, God. Not only is he a huge personality, which we all know The guy brings tons of energy, and he brought it to Tampa this year, and he brought in the interview. It was great catching up with them and talking about why he came back and his new perspective on the game of football. You know, I love the game of football. I love playing the game of football and, you know, I just need new. I need some time off. But while that time off, I mean, Gotta stay busy in life. You gotta be. You got to do things in life. You gotta keep grinding. You gotta keep working. So I was doing all that stuff on the back of my mind. I was, like, you know, I'm not gonna let that opportunity slip because I still am young. I can still put the game of football s so you know, I'm just always gonna have him back my mind Like just to stay in shape. You know nothing too crazy. I was playing so many other sports. I didn't even touch a football for a year. Actually, I was just you know, I was still running out point valuable hockey, Street hockey, basketball. You name it, Cornhole, you know, just working out working my core working my can I coordination but, you know, so it was always him back my mind like, Hey, Rob, Like, you know, if you feel good, I feel up to it. You're still young enough to come back and play Stay in shape a little bit. Just in case If you do want to come back because you did love playing the game and That's how it brought me back to where I am. Well, you're the first five times you hear there's a patriot, but you were with Tom Brady with Tom again this year. Obviously, what's it like doing it with a new team with the bucket? Here's a bunch of guys who've never been there before. And what kind of advice have you guys been giving him along the way? You know, I feel like these guys have been ready for this situation. You know, there's really not really too much advice to really give because these guys have been just working hard week in and week out. You know, it's like it's different if you know somewhere slacking. You know, some guys weren't really concentrating messing around. But like that's not the case like everyone's been, You know, having that same goal, and that's to win every single week and get you know to the next level the next game. To get to the Super Bowl so that the advice you know is just really tighten it up even more we can and weak out like, you know, learn even more like, get even better, like no, your play even more like that every single week. If you want to keep on going But just overall it's been a different type of challenge just coming here, But it's been a great challenge. It's been a challenge that I have embraced. Learning a whole new system. Learn a whole new playbook. Coming down the Tampa the weather has changed. You know, you're not in the freezing cold weather. Not anymore. You're still practicing. It's 75 hours. You gotta keep on Your hydration going, but it just overall just has been a great experience. And I want to trade it for anything. You talk about the journey this year. You know, you guys started up and down offensively. What do you got to the bye week? And since the body where he has been pretty dominant? What changed? It was just a matter of you guys getting on the same page. Get used to playing together Or was there one or two things that happened during that bye week. That kind of set you guys up for success down the stretch. You know, I would say at first, I mean, just getting to know each other. No one really knew each other coming into training camp. It was like all right here. We got a team. We got great talent. Here. Here you go. You got four weeks, five weeks to put it all together and play. You know, it's not the game of football isn't just about talent. You know, That's why it's any given Sunday. It's about scheme. It's about working together. It's about coming together as a team. Yes, we knew we all had a lot of talent. But it's just all about finding you know how the work with each other and how the Come together as a team, so we're up and down throughout the years, which is kind of like for every team in the NFL. It's rare just to see a team come out and look like they have every single piece put together very well. But that's also what makes this game of football. So gray is that any team can win any given Sunday. In. Everyone knows that you see it over every year. But then you know, we start putting it all together, and that's what was crucial. We knew that time was going to run out eventually that we had to put it together that we had to keep working. We have to keep coming together that bye week to also house because when you play football for I don't know. 13 weeks straight. You need a break from football. I mean, it drains you, mentally and physically like, even if I'm what you ever loved the game. You got to take a little break from it like and after having that break, everyone recuperate ID. You know you came back fresh, and we've just been on a roll ever since. Glad you're back play. It's always fun to watch it and good luck Sunday afternoon. Man. Thank you. Care dog. All right, dog. Let me bounce one off you last game. We saw Rob Gronkowski not involved at all in what happened in the game, and if you went to sleep on him, then you did it at your own peril because it came up with a really big play late in that game against the Packers. Is it more likely that he is an impact player in this game? Or is it more likely that the impact he said, has been on his team in his presence throughout the year? I think both, and I think it's a misnomer to say he's not impactful. It may be that the passing game like he once was. But he is a very good run blocker. And if you look down the stretch why this offense has had success in my opinion, they started run the ball they got, you know, letter for that going, Ronald Jones going there dedicated to it. Office line, playing really well, Rob Gronkowski and even camera break big part of that. And if you look down the stretch at the end, you know his whole career, but he was a dominating run blocker. Start off a little slow, but he got the ball back up. Got big again what was stronger, and I think he's really good run blocker once again. "Hear signals when they go up to the line of scrimmage. And now for a good extent, they can. I don't know how many fans if any, they will be in Green Bay. But it is something to consider. Of course, we all know about the The weather factor, which should favor overall. The Green Bay Packers. Yeah, Brady has experienced playing in the cold does that does Garak and a few other players, But you know, for the most part of the Tampa Bay as a whole, does not. I used to love the when they used to. And then you say, Well, Green Bay is only 27 when they play in temperature below 32 degrees. This is you know, a long time ago. Well, yeah, because they were only 27. In most situations. They didn't we very much in those days so that I think they made a bigger deal out of that step. And it really is one thing that is interesting that I would I think I pointed out in the in the column, and I'll point out here is you go back over the last eight years, and the home team in each conference has won their games. In other words, the home team has swept the conference championship game six times twice. The road team has swept the conference games. Uh, in the price about me out of the eighth last eight years, so I don't know if it has anything to do with this week, but it is sort of interesting that for the last eight years, we've not had a one in one split. If there's going to be a one and one split this year, I would think it would be most likely Green Bay winning at home and Buffalo losing on the road, and we could talk about that game. We'll talk about that one in a little bit, but I think the key for Ah, I actually like I like the under in this game a little bit more than I like. The Packers had 3.5 right now you can buy it down to three. That's that's what I would recommend. But I think But the way that Aaron Rodgers is playing we saw, I think in the column, I may be the reference that you know. Last week we saw Brady get his revenge against the New Orleans team that who that had humiliated him and the Bucks baby had one of the worst games of his career. And that 38 to 3 loss well. Rogers did not have a very good game in that in their in their mid season lost to, uh to Tampa on. In fact, if I recall correctly, Roger and I think that was the only game which Rogers did not throw a touchdown pass, and I think I just mentioned had two of his five interceptions in that game, and we know how Rogers can be when he was extremely motivated. You're real similar to to Brady and he showed that last week. Um the key to me is whether or not Tampa Bay Well, the key is the key for Green Bay is to have some sort of success running the ball because that's where camp obey has been strong. They allowed something like 81 yards per game during the regular season. The number one uh, the number one defense in the league against the run and a very highly ranked defense. Screen based defense was pretty good, too. And I think that The numbers that both of these teams Tampa Bay and Green Bay put up on defense are overshadowed by.

We'll cook. One was five weeks old. And then another one was six weeks old. And so, folks because of Christmas. I know you're not. You're in no matter who tells you how many times you, Ted. Go buy pets for Christmas presents because it's a unique experience. And I really believe that the dog whether it's a dog cat, Ah, guano, whatever they hit each other out, all right. Please. Please, guys, I don't puppies A really cute but don't pick out any puppy. I don't bring home any puppy under eight weeks and a story because especially five and six weeks is a huge Don't you run You run like your pants are on fire because that is a backyard breeder, and all they want to do is take your money and you know here. You deal with all the problems of not being with the mom and the litter mates alright, was gonna be a lot because when you get him in 56 weeks, they don't learn by inhibition. So they're very bully. Jumpy, snappy, Pushy dog or they're so scared of the world because I lack confidence, But you see, they're just more pushy. Right. And then now, seven weeks, But eight weeks to 10 weeks as the best time to get a puppy, where they've been with the litter mates in the, uh, the mom, there's just more social well rounded. They know how to take a licking and keep on ticket. And I just worked with a dog that was given up at 1.5 weeks old. So they bottle fed it, dog. God bless his soul. He's a black lab. Beautiful, but the thing is, is that he is Lot of dog and he's really not right for this gal. I really wish that we could fight him a good hunting home because he'll make one heck of a hunter. Yes, but anyway, but she what she's got going in her life. But anyway, so So, Paul, please. Please don't take Eddie. I have a boxer dog that is five years old and I have a Abbas Indian. And he is, um that seven years old, Okay? And he is that he's gone to the vet and everything. And you know I haven't excellent. Excellent bet. Okay, but I start. My dog eats raw and I've been to the vet and, you know, it's been a lot of money. I spent that I that and I'm so, um, he never really quit. Growing up. And he can sew, you know, on our after eats, and he always threw up. You know, you give him that We were talking about the cat or the dog or the cat? No. Okay, the cat. Epiphany Exact. Okay. And I'm he'll throw up all the time. He has been two years now. It's storing up in that, you know, God put my plate so okay. I started feeding him wrong. Okay, along with my dog. Yep. He doesn't throw up any more. Dain Dain Dain Dain Dang can do that is you hit it, And that's what I'm gonna tell you, Doc. Cats are not supposed to eat dry food dry because they come from the desert. They get their moisture from what they eat. So if any cat out there is throwing up even once a week You get a migraine free canned food or you get him on a raw food formulated raw or plain raw, you know, but with no cat should be eaten any dry matter whatsoever if they're totally indoor cat And the cold blood and the cold. Can cat food you know, the higher the quality try to stay out of the big box stores with the grocery stores. That's the lower end of it. There's a lot of sugar to those But anyway and then if you give raw hamburger Garak get broad, canned chicken. That's great for the cats and for the dogs, you know, so there's so much out there that we could do and especially cats. When they start throwing up, folks, I'll tell you it's from Dr Food. Don't do it. I tell everybody pride for two weeks. The great free canned food or mixed in with some wrong stuff like that. And if that cat throw once he's totally on it, no dry whatsoever that cat throws up once and I'll eat. I'll eat it just because, like I said, unless he's there, six it but anyway, so but that the is that how important getting all the cats off of dry food it It's just huge guys. "Being honest about his relation with Tom Brady, and that's the reason why he's getting another chance. Thomas my boy, one of greatest leaders to be around, you know, he's encouraging. Always inspiring being out the best in people around him. You want the best for everyone around him means you created quarterback on time. 90 I've done in the past matter. He always getting better day in and day out, and, uh I just learned a lot from you know, I hae trains. I take care of so professionally. His discipline is work Get there. His approach has been a great guy in my corner and one of my post friend Antonio Brown also said he not only received advice and help from Tom Brady, but also from the help guru. Known as Tony Robbins. All that stuff sounds great toe have himself as believable as possible in front of the media, courtesy of Zoom. I'm glad that he went and received help. But I hope it sticks because I love watching him play. I know what he's done at the football field. I know he's been a knucklehead on the football field. At times, I get it, but he is a gifted wide receiver. But that's not overshadow the fact. That even with those transgressions that would lead people to stay away from Antonio Brown. Tom Brady was not the only one looking to save his NFL career. Russell Wilson tried to do it in Seattle, Lamar Jackson tried to do it in Baltimore. But if Antonio Brown is going to make this work and not have a repeat what we've seen from him Lately in the NFL in he needs to be that dude that played like he had something to prove when he got from college, and he loved the game for the game and not just what the notoriety could do for him. In the back field. You've got Ronald Jones. You've got lemon for net. You've also got bond for the third round draft. That got a Vanderbilt are brother Coachman, Vandy. I mean, your young man is a player you've got Mike Evans. You got Chris got one. I know they've been banged up a bit, but got Scott Miller. Still Scotty Miller's leading the team in receptions. He's playing a little bit. I know O. J. Howard is hurt. But that guy Garak is playing pretty well break is another weapon, a tight end. Did you really need to bring Antonio Brown in? Sure, If some is good, more is better. Well, here's the kicker again, and that's why I say our tower. If I'm Bruce Arians. We've known Bruce Arian since he was in Alabama. As an offence, according to the late nineties. If I'm Bruce Arians, I'm looking at Tom Brady going. All right. This is your call. For the moment. One misstep. One hiccup one me moment. It comes to Antonio Brown. He's gone because this on Tom Brady with it is fails or succeeds in Tampa Bay because Tom Brady sold him and Mrs Brady and Tony Braun's good in our household. Me with all the weapons. We just rattled off, right? This to me Feels like a Tom Brady call like this. This is the one player the 11 guy. We were that puts us over the top. But if I'm Bruce Arians One..

"You want to be a part of the program. Our friend passed Darryl. Scott remains with us. He's got a brand new book out nothing to lose unlikely allies in the struggle for a better black America. We've talked at length The president ran on a slogan for minorities. Well, you got nothing to lose. Is they didn't they? They make all the promises every two years. Every four years. They tell you Republicans are racist and sexist and misogynist and homophobic and xenophobic Islamophobic and they won 30 air and water and they pulled out of the Paris climate of court. Well, you know, the the Paris climate of court recognizes China as a third world country so they don't have to pay what we pay. How about we stop and get out of it for that reason? Which is nuts, But the president did something Barack and Joe never did for minorities in this country created opportunity zones and in places where neighborhoods and Americans have been literally denied opportunity. The president was the one that funded for the longest commitment. Largest amount of money to historically black colleges. Criminal justice reform wasn't Barack and Joe. It was Donald Trump Prison police reform. It was not Barack and Joe was Donald Trump. Record low unemployment for African Americans. Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans, women in the workplace, youth unemployment, African American youth unemployment. Donald Trump did that not Joe and not Garak. It's amazing. Their economic record was atrocious. I mean, it's amazing to me the mob. The media will never point any of these things out to you. They just they just refuse. I'll give it 30 Million more Americans food stamps. Increase the people the number of Americans on food stamps by 58%. Eight million more Americans and poverty After eight years of Joe on Barach, that's over 43 million Americans they left in poverty. Lowest labor participation rates since the seventies 95 million Americans out of the labor Force under Barack and Joe African Americans out of the labor force was 18.5%. The worst recovery since the forties. One in five American families didn't have a single member of their family in the workforce, one in six men and those important work years of 18 to 24, either in jail or living at home with Mommy.

"Level. Visiting your local trailer Trager dealer heading to trigger girls dot com slash dp show Todd has his bagel nightmare story. He just e mailed me again that he would like to tell that story. So Todd walk us through your bagel nightmare story, and I will preface this by saying. Should we be hearing this as we get ready for our meet Friday Clambake? No, it's nothing. Gross. Okay? Yeah, It's something that became very disappointed. Okay. All right. So here's Todd Fritz with his bagel Nightmare story. I have a question for us Could name the company or that could be a future sponsor. We should leave the company that is it necessary to name that? I don't think so. Like a big lie. Did send him a note yesterday complaining about the situation of experiences in my town. How about just a big old chain? Yeah, that's well known bagel chance. Okay. Okay, So I'm going home from work Tuesday. I'm having a craving for a bagel or in my case, a couple of bagels, So I'm going to the drive through and I off. I asked for, you know, an onion bagel with cream cheese. They stop me right there and saying that we don't have any onion bagels. All right, You know that happens, you run out of bagels. Sometimes it's 2 30 in the afternoon or whatever. And it's been opened since 56 in the morning. You run out of certain types of bagels. So then I asked for garlic bagel didn't have that either. This point about that, then I go to Ah, All right, then. How about a sesame and they stopped me again. No sesame bagels so kind of sarcastically, and I've been known to be a little sarcastic slash passive aggressive. Why don't you tell me what bagels you do have and we will go from there is what I said. I don't if that sounded rude, but I'm over three and the bagels. I was required ID you say I tell you what, Why don't we do this? Why did you tell me what bagels you do have it and we can. Why don't we do this is if that's like a jerky thing. I would say I was I was very hungry. And I was very frustrated that three bagels in a row. They don't have. Okay. Did say it a little second. So then I go on to say Okay, so I'll have Tuna on before I could ask for the fourth type of bagel that they may or may not have that we don't have tuna like this is like getting Ridic. I thought I was being so I said in a not so nice terms they are. You gotta be kidding me, right? That's that's a little not nice to say that. Because this a joke? You kidding me? I've asked for a sesame bagel. I've asked an onion bagel and a garlic bagel, investor tuna, None of those things they have feeling like I'm going to the pizza place. And the thing that they don't have a slice of pizza or something like that. Anyway, Moving on. I asked for those because they don't have that. So I'm like, okay, why don't you just Give me you know, I got an egg sausage and cheddar on a plain bagel, and I called it quits and go around the corner. And I said, you know, again, cause I couldn't leave that alone because I look forward to a nice onion bagel. What's the deal with the You just ran out of onion bagels? Oh, not only did they run out of onion bagels, they're discontinuing making onion bagels. So I proceeded to get even more sarcastic when I found out that tuna and onion bagels are now off the menu at this bagel place. I don't know if it's just my town or the whole chain. They're shutting down, she said. Tuna, chicken and onion bagels for some reason are not being made any more by this bagel store. Yes, but I have a quick question to set the scene. Are you arguing with the president of the company? The ordering person at headquarters hold on or of 17 year old high school girl was taken. You were a very good point. This was by a teenage girl, and I just I was just flustered, and I didn't even care who the recipient of my wrath was. And my frustration that this was going on. And I said, So, what's going on? So you have not only because because you were not making onion, bagels, anyone? No tuna and no chicken. They're all gone from menus. So sarcastically I couldn't let it go and say that. And so that the manager who was behind it can hear me. I said So. Is this like a pandemic related? What would that What would covert have to do with making onion bagels or 20? No, no, We're just nice having that on the On the menu anymore, And those are two things. I really look forward to a nice tune on a bagel and onion bagel with cream cheese, onion, bagels and tuna and chicken no longer available at this bagel place. I know that lived up to the hype of the wait was that was the story that they didn't have it. I thought they were like punking. I thought I was part of some kind of tic tac or someone was filming something that they didn't have the Sesame bagel or the Onion bagel Order. Garak makeover didn't have tuna, And it's not making onion bagels and to never again. Yes, I think this is actually just a preview of Todd's new standup. That's essentially what going to watch him do Standup was exactly the same amount of reaction. No jokes. Funny story. Well, it's It's a long story, and then there's no ending. It was absolute was an experience that I had no, no, it didn't sell it as part of a comedy with that I want to share this and I was really upset and still the whole.

"Show, Jammu Green, Fellow colleague, Fox News contributor, Democratic strategist Jimmy. I know you might have to bolt early I want I want to get this question out to you in this sense because we're never going to agree on whose economy was better? I I I think fax on my side and Trump's side, but I want to ask you this. So on January 21st we had the first identified case of Corona, January 31st. Donald Trump put the travel ban in effect. And everybody told him not to do it. Joe Biden. Said. It was hysterical xenophobia and fearmongering and the other Democrats. They were busy impeaching the president, so they didn't have time to pay attention. Anything at all late to the game, and I can't think of a single contribution most of the maid, then they even played politics with the money. Here's my question. You say you ignore, negate the records that the president set for every demographic in terms of employment in this country that we've never seen before? Didn't happen under Biden, Obama And you just negate that now the president if he didn't act and then have a huge medical mobilization well, I would argue that one decision alone probably saved hundreds of thousands of Americans from contracting the virus. And then ultimately exponentially mathematically, then dying. Now the president could have kept that route is this got worse and worse. We now know it's the worst pandemic since 1980 But he closed the economy down for the most part, and now we're rebuilding it as we're slowly reopening. Taking care of the hot spots I said would happen. What My question is. Did you want it? I mean, did you not want the president to close down the economy? Did you not want what he did? I think you started off this conversation, saying Let's deal in the facts. So you talked about January 21st. The president was impeached in December 2019 so the trial was taking place in January. It didn't finish until early February, President Trump made that one decision to close the borders and Failed the American people. When that was the last decision he made to address this body, he make the right decision. Or was Joe Biden right to called xenophobic hysteria. He made the wrong decision by not actually shutting the economy down by leaving that up to governors and local officials. He made the wrong decision by not making sure that we had enough testing. I didn't ask, Did you make the right decision were live saved? Right? Well, I've saved because of the travel bands who are delayed critical. Well relief and additional funding. And it's because President Trump has held up a bill so that his hotel in D C will benefit every decision that's made well, Democratic wannabe. Is about how I'm going on. And I think the people have finally started to see that when you have people who are about to be evicted when you have people who will not be able to pay their bills, and the reason that the Republicans have held up legislation is because President Trump wants the new federal building built outside of his hotel in D. C. That is despicable. That is not leadership. There is no humanity in that decision, the only decisions he makes aggressive our help himself. I think I think that's a ridiculous argument. Didn't want to answer my question and whether or not the traveled there was the right decision or the medical mobilization in a sense, but that Joe Biden would have implemented Leo, I'll let you respond to that. I mean, you know, we're gonna debate one of you guys. Answer, Sean. Quit munching. Answer my question about the cynic, discrimination And whether not Joe Biden common about you ain't black guys that you got your using Democratic salty point. I want to debate you guys, but I'm loaded for bear. My point. Is it all in Sir John's question? The answer is yes. If they've life. Look at the congressional hearing these police had with Dr Fauci last week. And what Dr found? She admitted to that. What trump decisions were, he wouldn't total answer the question. Donald Trump. I'm gonna answer your question. The travel ban. I'm gonna add to your collection, but they asked one of my own. I think what he did when he said you ain't black. That was ridiculous. And Dominique shouldn't have said it Now. Will you admit that when Trump said there were good people on both sides in Charlottesville? That was kind of a dog whistle to racist? Everything? What do you know about the suburban comment last week? Was that a dog whistle to wear braces? One way? If we're gonna go about questions, I got a question. I got one when When let's see Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Bill and Hillary Clinton. They praised Robert Byrd, the former Klansman as their mentor, Joseph, My mentor. I can play it for you if you want And when integrate and he's the guy, the filibuster, the Civil Rights Act of 64 Voting Rights Act of 65 when integration segregation, those issues came up. Joe Biden was very out, spoken that he's worried he didn't want his kids toe toe, you know, grow up in a racial jungle his words, but I'll let you respond. Leah. I wear one more. We can get one more job by potential V P nominees. Joe, I was that little growing. The bus accused him directly of being a racist. So will you call about me? Don't talk about Trump in a race and the race is in your party, The Democratic Party Joe Biden as Coppola Harris. Remember the debate, Leo, but you don't want to talk about that, son. I'm sorry. Did the president's niece not just say very clearly that the president has used racist terms frequently throughout his life, But I hear you that Elsa was you want to focus on things that have been said 10 2030 years ago. There's a glowing light going on. Right now. There's a global pandemic, and President Trump is saying, Swallow life. All you young people are immune. Things are getting much better. He's doubling down on medication that doesn't work. This man is killing people in the middle of a global pandemic because he has no idea what he's talking about. I don't care what was said 30 years ago. I care about the hundreds of thousands of lives that have been lost. Because this President Lee here's my question and out of that that do we care about results? Because Donald Trump has delivered Mohr for those that were disproportionately negatively impacted by the biting Obama economy. Let's And he was there, and he shattered every record every demographic, Sean that by using other that open wide, the question added every record unemployment. He's the one that has given the largest amount of money and commitment to historically black colleges. He's the one that created opportunity zones. Not Joe, not Garak. Ah, Donald Trump's the one that did criminal justice reform. Remember was Biden talking about quote predators and and he's done all of and and also, he's done. Police reform that Barack and Joe never did After Ferguson and after what happened with Cambridge and what happened in Baltimore and other places as well, they didn't do any of this..

It's like a a buddy of ours, and I won't mention his name either God Almighty. It's irritating. I guess I probably could But anyway Gina and I worked for the same radio station Thie F M talk station back when it was still in business before we buried it because of us, But I and there was a guy who is constantly missing work. He missed 71 days in one year, plus his vacation. We miss 91 work days a year. And he came back and he said to Jack. So the program director, he says, because I'm looking at taken some time off next week was time off. Because how about some time off? You remember that story? Did you hear that story? And do you remember what his answer was? I believe it was in that conversation I ever look I'm here more than I'm not going to shoot a friend one of the things that he said one of the excuses that he use. I shouldn't say excuses. Maybe it happened, but one of things, he said the program director was I can't come in tonight. My dogs or dizzy. That's right. And Jack's looked at the phone and look back and say Excuse me because my dog's had operation today and they both went under and now they're both dizzy. And then he hung up the phone and he told me that story and I said, I said, You know what, Jack? I said my grandfather during World War two used to work for you guys, which is a big gas company. And then he worked during the war. He went to work for Amtrak, and his job in Amtrack was to go into Cleveland, Ohio, and to move the snow away from locomotives. And then bury himself under there on his back for eight hours and trying to figure out why that locomotive wasn't working. So it could take tanks to the East Coast and the East Coast will put him on ships and they go and try to, you know, y pounds of Germans. The Nazis. My grandfather could not call Amtrak and say my dogs air dizzy, you know, I know you have this war thing going on. I know you need tanks in Germany, but that My dog's just all dizzy delay he couldn't call in saying he was dizzy. This. I mean, this is these stories make me dizzy. I mean, I'm actually dizzy. Yeah. You know, I need a night off. I saw something up Wells up in Oregon. And you know they're always looking for a name change stuff right now, like Cleveland Indians, Atlanta Braves Thie, You know, Washington Redskins. Everyone's changing names, and I saw a thing. It was in a Fred Myers storm and was in barbecue sauce aisle and it was hot sauce, but it wasn't really that hot, and it was called sissy sauce. Change coming the sissy sauce, right? I'm like, Well, who is this for? For people who are not is cool because they don't like spicy things that make their eyes, water and there and there and and you know, and they're gonna bubble. Yeah, their innards destroyed by you know those sissies. Nowadays. Do you have to put that on armour? Hot dogs? Sure. Yeah. Short kids packets. Even that kids, Sissy kids, even kids with Garak make gun of the past. Yeah, And I think they changed that, though. I don't think they still go with him. Andi, I think they're going to have to change the chop in Atlanta. You know that Tomahawk chop on Ah, don't they don't do that at Arrowhead, do they? They D'oh. Oh, they do. Do you do the Tomahawk chop their head. They deal with it. They took the chops signs down. You know the chop is on or whatever it was, But there's a very funny comedian can't think his name but I will. And I will tackle credit him. But he said, I'll show you how racist it is The Tomahawk chop if you're going to a Ping Kong tournament, right? And everybody stood up and did the same thing. But they all went in on Mom left me a little racist. And so the time R chop I think is on its way out. I can't imagine the whole stadium doing it now, but maybe, you know, maybe they know they don't do it in Cleveland. I know they do in Atlanta. But I didn't know they did it Air ahead. Well, they did. They did when I was growing up. I don't know if there's been any sanctions on that. But, yeah, I mean, you watch the game and you see everyone doing that, Tom. Is there any pressure to change the Chiefs? I think they're fighting that. You know what's funny? I come through the news all day. And, you know, I always keep an eye on Kansas City because that's where in front. I haven't seen anything. And I know if anything, it gets lumped in with other names, but I haven't seen any headlines about the chief's changing Yeah, I haven't either. It's Ah, It's while somebody called me from Birmingham When I was in high school, our mascot was the brave Birmingham Braves and a guy called me 30 20 years after I was out of high school and says, Hey, we're putting together a big team of people trying to keep the Birmingham Braves and said the Birmingham Patriots coming come on the air and talk about it. I said I didn't give an ass about it when I was here. Why, 20 years later, when I put you on the air and fight for that I don't care if they change it, too, you know. The you know the Valley honkies or whatever it is, I could give a rat's. As you know, I have no idea what the history of these mascots are. But my middle school and high school mascots are the rebels and the Raiders. And I don't know that those necessarily are under the best circumstances. You know, I mean, right, And they might change the Vikings to herd that. I don't know. It's ah, slight against the Viking second, All right, we're live on. If I'm worn out, city workers have fanned out across the city to look for businesses not following covert 19 rules when they find violations. The workers will either advise businesses on how to comply.

"WFAN FM New York Saleh kind of back on the fan eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six so I've been handing out all night the route of you've been listening to it obviously we've been doing a lot of baseball stuff and we did touch on the football star whether chasing Garak being hired as offense of coordinator now for the giants or whether it's championship weekend which is now tomorrow as we are officially it's Saturday morning here I can't wait for the games will be more we can some of the couple buddies watching looking forward to it I already have I so so for the pics higher and what I mean picks I mean what I will actually bet on this weekend not just okay I'm gonna pick and forced pick a game so you guys can so I can pretend to tell you what's gonna exactly happens you could maybe go out there were some of your hard earned money on I don't want you to do that anymore I mean he's but I'm not going to bed a game of I don't love it not gonna pick a game if I don't absolutely love it I have a future wager that I made probably about a week thirteen fourteen somewhere around there maybe even later in the season there was fifteen the chiefs to win the a FC just when the AFC so obviously already have something then the chief just went forget about the seven point spread and I think I think that's gonna happen as we mentioned I think Tannehill's gonna have to throw the football is going to have more than said being completions to beat the Kansas City Chiefs I think the chiefs at any rate I just feel like it's their time the ravens are out of the way the pats are out of the way this is their time they almost choked last week at home and they finally kick the door open and gave those home fans at our head a terrific performance outside of first quarter in a playoff game I think the rockets I think I think right now I'm not going to bed it straight I told you I had a tease with L. issue which hit and now the other two pieces a Kansas city plus two and a half and the Packers plus seventeen laugh so I think I'm gonna leave it like that if I had to bet I'd probably to Kansas city and lay the points I think to win the game and while I want to be respectful and appreciative of what the Titans have done but I think we're able to bring great they have weapons if they need to make plays through the air can you talk about I love John Smith and the guy's a stud AJ brown is at a terrific year I just don't think the quarterback is any good I think he'll make mistakes and have ten a whole is forced to throw the football and if he makes mistakes that's how the game to get away from so I do think the cheese will win and the likely cover but I don't know excuse me I don't know if I'm gonna bet that just yet I know that I like him in the teaser and I think they're one of the game I don't see the upset in this one however the NFC that's where I see the upset I've been saying all year long Niners no question best team and I'm talkin gore going back to week six or seven I remember taking calls out either deniers are legit yeah yeah they're legit I think the best team in the NFC I felt that way from start to finish the Niners are the best team in the NFC I've also felt that they were gonna get picked off at some point I think that time is now I think they're too young and I know it's a young coach verses young coach with Shanahan versatile floor my probably favor Shanahan in that match up because of the pedigree with his father because the experience college and a hand as but a big favor or a big advantage is the quarterback play in favor the Packers in as Aaron Rodgers over Jimmy grapple where I think Rogers I think it is time to get back to another one here now whether he wins it who knows but I think the Packers going back so not just a seven point I think did not I think the Packers win the game outright I think we get the dream matchup chiefs and Packers and heck I think we get a much more exciting to bold we saw your goal I don't get a less exciting Superbowl than what we saw there with the rams and the patriots you see a more exciting Superbowl with great storylines can we get is first can Aaron Rodgers get a second more homes is it his son overall one of the best to ever do it further cement his legacy but I think the Niners we know they have a great defense we know they're getting healthy when other balance on offense I could just see a tight game in where gore Apolo makes the mistake and Aaron Rodgers makes impact I am give me a close one I think the other one has a chance potentially for the blow out there we get one blow out one closer I'm gonna pick that the agency would be the blow out or the easier victory I again if he's gonna be a closer game I think that's what we get the underdog I think Aaron Rodgers two good god doesn't make mistakes you can pick the lines because your vision in the game going one way but then when the game plays out the way that I think it's going to play out you see all boy Aaron Rodgers in this spot close game well let me ask you a close game a game with a one possession three point game four point game whatever seven point game you you trust grapple on the Niners we Tristan Rogers plus they can run the football little bit plus they can play some defense with Smith brothers and I think they're gonna be looking for revenge and Aaron Rodgers got something to prove really it's based the pick is is based largely on Aaron Rodgers but go down I'm going with Rogers so they have it chiefs although I haven't yet Bennett I think as I just talk to here in the last five minutes I'm talking myself into betting the cheese minus seven Jeez I think you're gonna win the game to get to the Superbowl and I I might bet that minus seven and if I again if I had to pick with the spread I would take the cheese minus points any other game I am gonna take the Packers moneyline and would take them with the points as well eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six criticism Westchester what's up Chris Hey sal I got to say it is a an absolute pleasure hearing you you you got some fire in your voice when you thought and and you keep me awake on about all Cleveland overnight that I appreciate you saying that because I think that's a great compliment you can't sleep I want to put you to sleep I want to keep it up what's on your mind them absolutely I'm I'm Colin about the the change gears real quick about the matter I think bill train as we got close but that's beside the point I was listening to John Hammond on Joan AT and yesterday and haven the heat to guide recall will be the new manager one of them was dusty Baker the other was David right David Ryan pull that from I don't know where you're told if he even said he thought that could happen we thought it should happen he thought that they were the two best possibilities is wired okay so I had to issue to go up on you it is David right first and foremost most met fans have nothing negative to say about it great is there anything that happened negative and was critical not metal it was anything about is personality dusty Baker is an old school guy the Mets have a young need I don't think they need an old school guy to get them in shape I don't think that has anything to do with it I think they have a pretty good nucleus currently who do you want a lot so now that that's not what I want I'm call you to tell you what I don't want I don't know what I want at least I can admit that well you does that's fine but you don't want us the no negative too much negative about dusty but I don't want David I want to yeah a look at what the I don't think you have to worry Chris and thanks for the call appreciate check in project the kind words don't go to sleep now I'm on they they right not a day he does want to do it so I don't know if they have payment in opposite respect him and ability as a reporter I mean I'm a reporter but old reports that I saw a dating back to you know a year ago whatever it was last year I forget even yeah I mean a year ago when David retired this speculation about what we want to manage one day and he said no flat out and then obviously when the opening happen even want to be a manager was a couple years ago now I forget the time one of those old ones together but anyway he doesn't want to do it so I don't think that maybe the Mets trying to get him to do it he doesn't want to manage it would be great for to have the guy that everybody law every met fan loves David right when it's delta purposes be nice to have men uniform what better face of the franchise in David right he was terrific as the face of the franchise unfortunate you said you can say all the but it's not a baseball manager nor does he want that I would take dusty Baker because I want a guy who has experience at manager and has experience winning Buck Showalter would be minimal one guy I don't see why there's negative in either box or dusty Baker I want a guy who's done it before to symbols that Tom is in the Bronx is up Tommy yeah he does a good timing how are you one the one ring you I'm going to call took about a baseball thank your fourteen you know that I think it was this talent is a million places sports in all sports and what they do when they get there a couple ways to and the sad thing about it is it is a little bit about it now it's going to happen again because people always do things into the court even while criminality people just keep doing things into a cordless sent specially for the fans because this is we're talking about it now someone.

"Through this series Hey it was a symbol for the red Sox last year it the thing is the bats are built for five game series as opposed to seven game series because once you get deeper into October there more innings to fill and when you have a bull pen that goes only really two pitchers deep that Dave Martinez stress it's going to be difficult to get all of those twenty seven outs in each game but that that's the way the nationals have to do it that is how they're built and and they hope that they can steal for games if they get past the Dodgers and make it to the World Series so with that said will we see Patrick Corbin the game one starter Houston relief tonight if there's a leverage situation I would be surprised if we did this specially when you look at the fact that the nationals really don't have a lefty out of the bull pen that they trusted a you know Patrick Corbin with his sliders the kind of guy who could be absolutely devastating up lefties if you look Nash or excuse me the Dodgers lineup especially if we get to the top John Peterson Max Muncie both left handers Justin Turner's a right hander but after that Cody Belcher Corey Seager another couple left handers four of the top five guys their line of the left handed and if you can force Dave Roberts to take any of those guys out to try to get the platoon advantage you do that Jim passing ESPN baseball insider joining us here on baseball tonight before game three Dodgers and nationals now we mentioned he was in Houston last night what were players on both sides saying about Garak Coles amazing fifteen strikeout performance last night yeah I mean essentially that he's the best pitcher in the world right now and that's saying something considering he's throwing gave to at that Justin Verlander his teammate is as good as he was this year but Cole was dominant he had five strikeouts with his fastball yet five strikeouts with his curveball yet five strike outs with the slider all of the pages were working last night and went all the pitches are working with Gerrit Cole.
