"Sam backs him up then everybody else along with Gandhari brea, and they all say, yes, then says actually the north will remain independent, so, you know, no, no worries brother, but we're going to be up here. And then Tyrian says, all hail brand the broken for his name brand asks Tyrian to his hand. Both tearing aren't happy about that, but brands like, hey will our brand is like, hey, it's shitty job. So it's kind of punishment if you have to fix all these things that you fucked up, which they seem okay with hand of the king. So. Yeah, I think that the thing with, with brand I've seen this pointed out that brand is the first POV chapter in the book. And so it sort of is the kind of thing, George Martin would do where like the very first character eventually is going to be the last carrot and his name brand builder. There's a lot of interesting interesting, lower power, though. I don't know how you got a name. So I guess you get a name because the person they're just names. You like why was he brand the broken while he was named after neds older brother brand title, the broken that's just because he's crippled? I guess because he would like for Tyrian to just call them brand. The broken. I know I saw some people joking about this on Twitter, ladies and gentlemen, brand the broken. It's just it's just brand. Probably band. Please. Maybe we can talk about the whole title thing, you know, there could be there could be other maybe names. So this strikes me, as something that George Martin told the show runners and they needed to get here, and then they were for both some, it seems like some logistical reasons than some creative reasons. Just unable to carry brand the distance that he needed to go over the course of the show. Like like you said he was gone for so long. He came back. Also, the actor grew up so significantly and became different looking. They just wound up with this strange other kind of character and, and other kind of an actor playing the role in a very strange way that only really kind of came together for the spinal season..

"Action. Not a great start read the room almost takes quill right to the temple. And he's like, hey, listen crazy day, I know you've out here shooting arrows, I was just in the feast that sex is in the air, the musk of love which rocked up and ready to go. And guess what happened Danny the dragon clean is like you wanna be able to. So you can actually be my actual lady. Now what he say, let's get hitching and he goes down on one knee. Does he goes all it as brutal to watch? Agonizing. It's like one of those faked stadium proposals. The ones that were they hire the actors, and they do and the and are is like now being my wife be the way of storms on that was his mistake. I think if he would have framed it. I'm not saying she would have said, yes. But I think if you would have framed it in a language that more evinced partnership and agency and freedom. I think she's still would've said, no. But it wouldn't have been a hard. No. Because I think that lady language is frittering the only proposal that she accepts here is here's a key swing by whenever you wanna fuck, but go do your thing today. Only invitation even accept that one. Honestly, I I I don't need a key to get it on my off. He's also like I got the best of you. And honestly like I was like this is it this is what people are talking about. It's not great. You know, it made me think about the moment when a length. Is sharing her sexual history with Marjorie, and she's saying the only thing he wanted was what I'd given him the night before. Like, that's the vibe you get from Gandhari against if fiend for just ruined him. Yeah. He's other women. He's absolutely decimated. So the other thing is like he really cares about her. It is a very ultimately sweet and tender scene between two people who have great affection for each other and a lot of shared history. But ultimately are not on the same path moving forward. And the thing. That's so cool about the scene is that guess what that's fine, and are is not afraid to say it because that's a choice. She's made the choice to be who she is. She leans down 'cause he's still on on nape. Fucker kisses him, very tenderly. And then kind of like pulls him back up, which is hopefully when he knew that it's like the moment on the bachelor right before the dudes about to take the ring out of his pocket and the bachelorettes like stop Kendra. That was the moment. When injury now is very rough. She says you'll be wonderful Lord any lady would be. To have you. But I'm not a lady I never have been. That's not man. It is a callback to her foundational season one exchange with her father Ned. That's what game of thrones is good at now. Call backs call only Bax this is what I enjoyed when they're talking about brand what brand future is after injury and are asked her father. Can I be Lord? Hold fast. And he says you will marry a high Lord rule his castle on your son's, she'll be nights, and princes and lords what does she say? No, that's not me. And that's an idea that she echoed when she came across Nigeria in season seven and tried to convince nightmare to go north with her. And then realized of course, the wolf her wolf just like aria wouldn't do someone else's bidding anymore and said, that's not you. This wasn't aria in season. One isn't aria. Now, she's not going to conform or live her life based on social norms or with somebody else wants, and this was really refreshing in this episode because. Amid all of the other choices the characters are making..

"I can't I it seemed like it had been at least a couple of days with some of the dead bodies failing. Maybe like forty eight hours overnight like it's always hard to get the time signature for these because they showed a couple of dead bodies. They've they look pretty dead. But thought the gaming so already the smells not great. And you know, what else doesn't smoke? It is when you burn like twenty thousand of the dead bodies at the same time. It is you know, that had to ban. I would say the most I mean game of thrones the mail order show to begin with not a lot shower deodorant perfume. I mean, we we're really paper holding our noses on a lot of suspension of disbelief kind of stuff here. Yeah. But that many dead bodies the way that the they died, and however long they were out there. You're not giving speeches? Joe's those standing there convene, everybody's convened within you know, thirty or forty yards of these bodies, and we're all going to stand here. So it. It is stench. It's the worst thing you could ever smell were program to not be in the presence of of our dead brethren. Yep. Good points. Yeah. Johnston trying to win an EMMY. And meanwhile, there's twenty thousand dead bodies in the wind's blowing toward everybody you say, here's one more toward the there that guy can we burn the bodies. So I always thought the worst smell in the show would have been the dragon breath. This dragons like they're just eating what are they eating? What are the dragon Z? Kyle. Cows and goats and she got right slash dragons. I'm surprised out of all the pets smells. That's not my number one in the same way that our dogs. Eat terrible. Terrible things. Let me say hot fire breath. Oh feels like it could be a cleansing agent. Whatever it is that Glaus them, debris the fire could have the effective producing. That's interesting. You think it's so hot it burns all the germ antiseptic. That's good. Well, either way it doesn't smell bad as a twenty thousand dead bodies burning. So they decided to follow that up by having a giant feast. As you do what makes you hungrier than the burn smell of twenty thousand burning bodies. You know, let's have some food and subject or would they did win the war? Yeah. It was. A celebrate Tori fee was sell Pretoria. There was definitely a cell Batori feel you had the sarcastic remark. I'm glad they turn the lights on for this episode. That felt like a day. Definitely. It's good to see people's faces for more than than four and a half seconds. Did you like the glasses? They were drinking out of because every time they bring those out on game of thrones hours. I was feel like I want like twenty of those I the big horn glasses. Well, they had those cons you like to drink flagons now. Probably not right. Yeah. Something like that. They probably did have flag. There was a whole array. There was a whole variety you like a real marketing opportunity here the game of thrones tricking collection. So very festive people busting balls. The bearded guy torment he's going around being doing stuff. Getting cock block. That was. Yeah. Well, you see make sure everybody does shots doing shots. He's spilling beer all over the place. Gingery Genry Ghengis gingery. I think we're going with Gandhari Gandhi. So he became a lead. Storm house guy, this cost Drayton stone. Now, he gave him the lead the the head of the storm PM some head of the storm. So they gave him some new title. They made him gingery brethren gingerbread out the gave him dragonstar something gate, but his sakes, they gave him an accolade..

"Don't necessarily agree that picking aria because it's like surprising is the best logic. But she's also not the worst choice that they could have made you because we're doing a little like a pre show conference. And you mentioned that it's interesting that they went with something that's entirely contained within their show universe. Like Mela, Sandra? In a show. Only prophecy uttered like you're gonna shut Brown eyes and green and blue forever. And then you know, they instead of all the different prince that was promised Princess. It was promised or a high the last year all the different mythologies and prophecies that seems like Martin was setting up to kind of predict who is going to be the last year the prince's promises going to the in the long night along night part two they just decided to stay within their universal. Like, hey, you know, what we was do you think that was like a safety because I like that prophecy was well before season six did you think they created that as? Well, George gets another book or some more bullet points and fits. We can always go at that. But hey, we've got the aria shutting blue eyes forever and our back pocket, and she's a super train supernatural assassin. This is this. This is our this is our get out of jail free card that we're embedding our own universe. No. I mean, I think that I can see the case for that argument. But like, my gut check there is that like they they changed up adrift storm storyline. So they had Gandhari be like the child instead that Melissa nder needed. They stuck meals on during the river lands, and like wrote in a kind of cool scene with her and REO like like Brown eyes. Green eyes blue is just the color that people that people have I think that I think that that was them transcribing her future as a faceless, man. And all the people that she was about to kill because she already had a couple notches on her Kila belt, but she didn't really start diving into that until after the red wedding and in season four. Stats stats ballooned after that season. Yeah. And I think that your yeah. What you said was spot on which is like they. You know to to take their analogy. Like, they looked at the pieces on the board. And they specifically chose those two two scenes that they had invented for the show for aria like the Melander scene. But also that quote from Syria, ferrall is not in the books. He doesn't he never says. There's only one God and his name is death. And there's one thing we say death. Not today. Benny often have talked about that. Also, there's a there's a book that HBO put out in two thousand twelve called inside game of thrones. They really need to mix up what they call these segments. Because it's like inside the episode. The game revealed inside game of thrones. There's this book and Benny off in that he's asked what scenes or dialogue. He was most proud of writing. And he specifically said that cereal for L moment because he thought that that was like a perfect showcase of how collaborative game of thrones was because like George Martin invented REO aria and Serio, but he didn't write that specific scene..

"And I also think that I mean, I'm not a superhero movie guy. Have I think I've seen two of the now Twenty-two marvel cinematic universe movies? And it's. I just like I think that the same weekend as arguably the biggest movie ever comes out with them. Sure epic battle scenes and epic. You know situations and the culmination of eleven years of movies ending the same week as arguably the most hyped television battle of all time one being significantly better from what I hear to this one. I think that really hurts it as well a lot. I'm sure those universes crossover at some point. Sure, there's plenty of people that watch both. And I can imagine the people that were so blown away by the vendors were very disheartened by what we saw Sunday, I had major ventures problems too. But that's another conversation for another time. I'll how dare you cry. What was it was great for the I thought it was fantastic for the record. And I'm not gonna say anything of consequence here because you'll end up. Shady Alexa, and I were walking around Home Depot yesterday like just running some errands, and we were talking about Smith. Venture stuff as we walked in. And I was like I don't want to stop talking about this now because I would be so angry. If I was out of I was at Home Depot, and I hadn't gotten the chance to see the movie yet and just some random person gave away a plot point as I was at Home Depot. And she thought it was crazy, but it's perfectly reasonable. Yeah. See like, I don't want to. So I will not I will not make any reference to anything to give anything away. I thought it was a fantastic movie not without its falls. But the last thing I want to talk about a with this game of thrones thing before we move onto our next segment here is Genry because obviously has not been very big character up until this point. He he's had an interesting season. So far with one of the more uncomfortable scenes that I've ever seen on game of thrones. Which is insane. Yeah. It was just consenting adults. The situation is somehow more skeeve skeeving than brother and sister. Do you disagree? No. No, no. I totally agree. I'm I'm not here for aria being involved in a dull relationships. No. I'm here for killing the night king. I'm definitely not here for the other stuff. Yeah. I know maisy Williams is like twenty two or whatever. But she's forever twelve she Arias forever twelve. So it's just it's not. Okay. But whatever God bless, it's they all thought they were going to die. So be it. But let's talk about Gandhari will Gandhari be confirmed as the son of, sir. Sea lions ter- Bethesda has yes at plus three hundred no at modest five hundred confirmed is the son of, sir. See, yes. This is the big plot point here. This is the big theory that he is sir sees illegitimate child or Robert's illegitimate child. Now fused will this asks will be confirmed as the son of, sir? Sea lions ter-. Well. No. But but I do think I do think that it's all going to eventually come out. I mean, he already spilled the beans to aria he told her who is other people. I'm sure half to are going to be able to figure this out. I mean, it's. He seems so insignificant like as far as time on screen throughout the series that for him to somehow emerge is the number one guy and end the series in one big Barath, Ian time as a flat circle situation. I I find it really hard for that to actually happen. I would actually see this news coming out and either either Jamie or. Jamie were Danny taking him right off the right off the earth as quickly as possible, you think Jamie's in the killing people like just killing in this criminally business anymore. I feel like Jamie's kind of moved onto the I'm kind of hero again business. He wildcard. Now. He's he is wildcard. Because now again, we kind of touched on earlier..

"I did like about all the bastards. And I liked blackwater. A lot other battles have just been so uninteresting to me because it's just you can't tell what's going on. Yeah. I like those two as well. I I'm with you on hard home, not being I don't love hard home the way that a lot of people seem to love hard home. But I like I like him when the stakes are established and when there's crazy shit happening. I mean, it's a lot of this is a very visceral effect, right? It goes beyond. Just conception is just the horror and shock and thrill of watching. Unbelievable things happening and. Yeah, that that does work for me at least in some of the shot of drug on flying through the air with thousands of zombies falling off of him as he. Tries to shake them. I mean that was crazy. And just the way they were stabbing him was really like that was that was horrifying. So. Yeah. So basically, this is when we entered the last stand phases. Very drawn out sequence that for all the fact that I knew how it was going to end at this point. I pretty much figured that. The only people who would die where the people who are protecting someone else if that makes sense like during the last stand montage, we kinda put it in quotes intrigue as trope. No one's really going to get killed right before the, you know, the big events saves everybody like, you, don't, you know, Jamie isn't just going to randomly get stabbed during this. Or if he does he's going to survive, it's more like everyone has to look like they're about to die. And then as we saw the only people who actually die or people who are making a sacrifice for someone else in this case, Giora and theon. So this sequence just kind of cuts. How they should have died seasons ago, which is which is yet. Again, why it felt so I'm impactful because both of their time said come like like Giora had fucking gray scale that was magically cured somehow in that inexplicable thing, and then and theon has been through so much. I love the character. But like really he should like two seasons ago realistically. Yeah. Yeah. It's they're not the most impactful loss. Yeah. The crypts in the crypts that head start to come back to life. As basically everybody predicted. They would win the night king casts. His spell to raise everybody. He also raises the dead down there and everything totally goes to shit and everybody in the crypt starts getting butchered, which is horrifying conceptually means a whole bunch of mostly unarmed people who aren't trained fighters, though, I've believed that I don't know if any named characters die down there feeling the next we may find out about some people who died that we didn't know about. And it'll be you know, they'll find somebody's body. Like, we didn't see misunder made it through I believe Varis anterior and Sanga now, we would've seen them tie onscreen convince about that. I think there may be a couple of not only they'll be major deaths, but I think maybe padraic maybe Gandhari, maybe Misawa, I think there could be some people like grey worm finds misunders body. I think that could totally happen or pre end Padre buried under a bunch of corpses. And he's dead seems like that could happen to to a more minor. But. Still character we care about. But anyways, there's a lot of fighting happening down there. I really really liked the scene with Tyrian and Santa kind of hiding behind crypt. They just sort of look at each other. And they're both like fuck. I don't know. I was able to Santa no I like their like their interactions, and I liked both actors, and I think I like in a scene like that. I'm able to sort of put myself in their shoes and try to imagine what that would feel like I think that scene just did a good job of allowing viewers to do that. And it was clear like they're just like you could die at any second. I mean, if one reanimated corpse sees you you're pretty much dead..

"If you ever fought for anyone else, he's aware that he's changed. And he knows there was the scene where you know, Ian, McShane showed up, and he kind of learned to be a better person get into it. And just points out. You know, I fought to protect you barrack turns up and he's like reenergize. Together in areas. Like fuck you guys goes lame. I'm leaving. And and leaves. She comes and finds Gandhari she's practicing with her bow. And he gives her the weapon he made. So the weapon I believe is similar to the weapon that the way fused that she fought again sort of a staff staff with two dragging glass bleeds at the end. So what those are called I plan video games that you'd think I would I would remember there's a word for it that kind of a weapon like a double bladed staff, but I think she's to Darth maul weapon. Right. Right, basically. So I think she's going to be wrecking shit with that. And then he tells her, you know, they're kind of just talking he tells her that he's Robert breath bastard, he tells the story of sort of she starts asking him about his sexual experience. He talks about the red woman how that was kind of his first sexual experience. Basically was this weird seduction and then violation by her. But then he's been with girls since then. And she kind of says, we'll will you be with me because I wanna know what it's like before I die, and it's actually a really sweet scene and they also little uncomfortable because it's hard not to think of aria as a little girl. Yeah. Like is. He how old is she even at this point. Yeah. I know. But it they they think they handled it pretty well considering I mean, I was I'm with you. It was a different kind of sex scene. But it was it was a nice scene between two characters that lane. So I'll give it to. It's also it's a world in which women do not often get the opportunity to like set their own path of sexual likening. I liked her line of I'm not taking your pants on for you. I'm not the reality. Yourselves. Yeah. Those goods so. Yeah. No, it was mixed feelings about that one. But yeah, it is cool. Also that to me seems like our is doomed like her arc is another one that is just kind of been through it all and she's the point where I think she's dead. Don't know if I agree or not because they're still Numeiri to to contend with. And I don't think going back. I think that one shot we got of her like in the woods with our other wolves was we'll. We'll be sorely disappointed. If that's the case so moving on fireside parties still going there sort of talking a great line. Now, we're Tyrian goes against his previous spate Eliza. And just says, well, I mean, we might live. You know? I don't know like we were all still alive. It's pretty incredible kind of people on this road. Keep saying, well, it's really amazing that I've lived this long Jesus survived that survived. That's pretty incredible. It's like, I'm the main character of TV shows. I wasn't supposed to die until now. But then we got maybe the best moment of this whole episode. Which is when it comes..

"Yes, I can do this. I can't be a dragon writer because it's in my blood and versus just like, okay. Well, if a dragon likes you for any reason, you can hop on and take them for ride. It felt more like hairy Potter Ryden hip Griffith. Like, it's just they're going to say trae writing gore, but okay aspirational, wouldn't it be cool to ride a dragon with your lady friend Ladan on the carpet? It's it's it could have been more. And I I feel like just light reordering of the sequence of events here could have been, but it was really really sweet seemed like it'd be really fucking cold. They're not wearing hoods wear masks. They're going going. Flight speeds in very cold air. But that freefall was fun though. Yeah. I think it'd be terrifying. Like your zero g and the only thing holding you on is gripping his dragons floppy horns. Yeah. I don't know how they stay on these things. But we'll we'll overlook that. So I think John should have floated a bit further north and take her into hot springs fucking falls not springs where it's at well. Who's to say, there's not a hot pool under those falls? It's true. You have also the hot springs are like super empty like yet one hundred thousand Wilding yet to compete with before. Now, it's just like a hot spring sex. No waiting through. All right Gandhari is casting dragon glass weapons while the hound gives him grief until our issues up, and they sort of strange mean mugs until the hound finally cracks in his respect for her still being alive slips through our then ask injury to make a new weapon as they lightly tease each other. So I mean, yeah are indoor weird. It was more in six thought. It would be. Yeah. From at least his side things because I thought the him Brian kind of shared a moment of being proud of their shared parentage last season. I thought that that might shine through a little bit more. But it's fine. I feel like we talked a lot on the incident. Kost about aria and Gingrich flirting and how we thought about that. Like, we're kind of like neutral to in favor. Yeah. I think so cute. I honestly have a hard time seeing aria with anyone at the end of this. But you know, if anyone can reassure he seems like a cool guy. The one thing that we were going to catch up on was our is mystery weapon. Yeah. What do you think? I've I've heard some reported as a double ended spear telescoping thing is still in play. I'm not really sure what to make of it or how it would be more effective than the weapons that she already has because she has. Valerian steel dagger, which we know will take out why walkers she knows that? I mean, honestly Valerian tipped spears would be about like spears were kings of the battlefield for a long long long long time. Like a pretty much up until like the invention of gunpowder and rifles and whatnot. So like having because I saw some people suggested it might be like a blow dart kinda like like, Jack and her garwood us, which would be kinda cool like a like a city flush kind of thing that you shoot it. Enormous heavy. It does seem like it. Some kind of. And we saw the trailers, of course, Arias swinging around like some kind of boast African weapon I think that we're just seeing and he's probably got some trick. Did it can split in half kinda like Darth balls lightsaber Enger and like Darth while himself can split in half and still be combat effective as found out and solo. So I think it's I don't think it's going to be like any kind of magical super weapon beyond just dragging glass. Tips fear that can transform into probably two daggers with crazy long handles. Things like, you know, like, I just think it's a reach problem. It's like when you're would you fight zombies hand to hand with like a dagger, you need a little bit more reach. So that's what it's going to. It's going to give her going to allow her to believably kinda world through these crowds and kill a bunch of white walkers zombies without putting yourself at risk make sense..

I've been nice you this is the nicest I've been to anybody in my entire life. Okay. Don't shave me. She's like case given noticed I've been walking around with those giant as army for seven years. And last time I checked actually none of them eat anything. So don't worry about it. That's true too. They never do. I'm gay lesson. Everybody. Yeah. It's time for commercial. It's time for crap comedy show. So we see Gandhari doesn't it Gandhari. Right gandhari. He's like, he's, you know, he's making stuff dragon glass, and then we see Tyrian he walks over to Santa. And he's like the last time we spoke at Jeffries, Jefferies, wedding miserable. And she goes it had its moments. Everyone is based is like an old theater. Green on this show. That's what the turned into totally here for it. Oh my God. I love it. I love it. I like him in Palm Springs so for leaving so fast leaving to be molded by your father. He's like, well, you know, we all do we gotta do. She's like. Yep. We survived. I got a Han oil treatment, my hair's got an adorable. Cut him. I was given enough labral to make this beautiful dress. Exactly. And so they just have a conversation where he's basically like people didn't didn't think you'd survive and just and then she's she's like, oh, you think your sister says he's going to send an army? Yes. Do whatever. So they're talking. And then for me, what was it -nificant that they have this whole little conversation. And at the end, they like look out over the edge and brand is just the courtyard staring at them like stop it. Ran has stopped cruising brand. Okay. The dead. People are coming awkward. So then John and the bloody eyed tree, John the buddy, I treat the eyes are bleeding Guarany. Like, that's kind of how it works. So and John have this family. How did this family ever have? I know that everybody has gone through a lot. I know that this family has gone through a lot of shit on this show, but everybody's gone through a lot of shit on the show K. Find some joy in life. Everybody talks to each other in the families like Hannah's steep it headed. Just kidding. Got to hard from me. Let us have gently. That's kind of funny because area finds John at at the tree. And then they it's like she's like at first, but then they hug, and then it's actually it was so sweet because she was like really smiling. And I feel like she hasn't smiled in about five seasons. So that was really nice. But then what had loved was this, totally passive aggressive moment. That was supposed to be enduring where John's like needle, you still have that thing. She's like, yeah. After have it you have used it onset twice. She likes showing it. She's like look at meetal is like, oh, cool. Look at this.

"Even just a little gesture like her leaning down to pick up the call that was that was something that she would not have done previously. So to find them together. Now that sauna is legitimately one of the most powerful people in the entire realm in the entire route. And of course, Tyrian serving denarius himself on most powerful people in the realm where they can gaze. Upon each other across that even playing Philly be really interesting to see what that relationship is like that such a great way of framing it because while Tyrian was always kind toward sonza and protective toward her. It was because he would say this. She thought she was child he felt that she needed protection. And now she's appear more than appear. I mean Tyrian is an employee. Doesn't answer to anybody. Yes. In a sense like John is above her. But doesn't wanna be there? They're much more even than their titles imply and sons doesn't answer to anybody. So that will be very very interesting reunion. I can't wait for it. Are again very same day that was a time in Arias life when she had nobody. Yeah. And Gandhari at that point was kind of like used to having nobody and you just wanted them to like be able to stay together. And it just didn't happen. So yes, shipping them hard. That would be great very powerful match. Also, like just. Lyrically? Sure Starks and the bastard of king Robert breath, yet like very powerful batch one of the reasons I'm really excited for them to be together again is because even though when they were together REO was tough and had to remain on edge. So that she could literally say alive and avoid capture. She was so sweet and playful with Gandhari ultimately end like since that time, she has hardened so fully that I'm hoping that Genry can unlock a little bit of that the nature of her relationships has been fundamentally altered since she has been separated from Genry. Right. And so seeing her back can be I hope of source of tapping back into REM stark and continuing to move away from no one both Ganji aria. Well, gantry not so much obviously, strong virginal vibes for a lot of the show. So be interesting to see them together. John and brand yummy. Never been with a woman. So one of my favorite lines in the show. What was what's the line when Nelson just coming up, and he's like, I don't see what's so special Ed or something because yoga? Great. So John brand there's that moment in season one when at the execution when John is like don't look away father will know and John's goodbye with brand cap doesn't want him to be in that room. But John pushes through his fear because loving brand is so important to him. Just I think it'll be a real shock for John to see what has happened to brand. What do you think John's gonna make of brands three I driven? I've been like hitting the pipe. All dave. I honestly don't know. I think he's going to be really taken aback like shocked like really saddened and onward by maybe in a way because number one we thought he was dead for a long time. Didn't know where it was while he though John does know he's alive because of Sam right revealing John that he had crossed pet like it's been a real roller coaster over the course of the series. I thought he was dead disappeared the new he was alive, and they're our miss pastors and now to see him again like. This. I think will be a real a real real shock. There's not everybody's so changed. There's not a lot of people that John can be like, hey, remember what it was like when we were kids. Right. And have it be really pure. It's also just going to be such an uneven conversation in the sense that remember when brand was trying to not trying to explain that's kinda the point. When I was like, I don't understand what you're telling me. I'd understand what you and he was just like it's hard to explain. So that's what he's gonna offer to John. It's hard for me to explain who. I am. But here's literally everything you need to know about who you are. You are the air. The iron throne. Your parents are on stark in regard tar area and Gendron Mila, Sandra..

"And of course, rob ends up telling her, well, I don't care. I wouldn't love. I wanna fall in love, and this is really stupid to me. And again, we're seeing more sprinkles of. Of rob. Losing the grip when he held it. So tightly of him winning this war because now fuck he wants, you know, Jamie's gone. He's going to marry this girl. Go back on the fray word, and we end up finding out unfortunately in season three what happens because of that. But until then it's happily ever after moment for Robb stark. As soon as that, we see Brian Jamie, having more of their relationship, and I love how Jamie just constantly making fun of her where they're having the conversation, and he's like hold on have you ever had sex before. Wait. You're a woman like being a total Astle, which I love very much status is now totally defeated in angry chokes out Mila, Sandra and says what happened you know, what I was supposed to win this war. And she's like, well, the Lord alight says you did and I still see your future here. And again, when you jumped ahead above me, just a little bit you brought that line where she's like, well, listen before this is over you're going to betray your brother, your family, your Bannerman, and everything, you know, love for this cause but you're going to win so come over here. And let's let's look at the light. And they end up seeing the light. And that is the end of that part. Danny goes back into the house of the undying. And we don't talk about this. Much, and I feel like a lot of people forget about this moment Christian. But we see the flashback in the future events of her walking into winter fell. Where winner has finally come or so a Macy's anyway. And then we see that great scene of her and dro- go with the baby. And I didn't realize how emotional scene was and give it to you here for you to explain it further. But drogue oh was saying, you know, even if this was a dream. I'm going to kill the guy who wakes me up, and I thought that was super touching. Yeah. The whole scenes, really great. But I think again what it is. It's a crossing the threshold for her character moment like now, she can officially say goodbye to all that shit. She's also gained some agency while being in Carthage she learned how to kind of manipulate and play that game. And so it's a really important scene. It's like what could have been what will be again like the whole show is about four in the road about making a decision. And I thought this was like a really articulate and like cool interesting way for them to kinda show that but also it's it's the last version of old Danny in a young naive teenage Danny who didn't know how to do things. This is the moment pretty much going forward where she's not that. I any more. It doesn't make a perfect. She's still flawed. She still has to learn how to to lead into rule, but she's no longer like hapless little girl. She wants was. And I just thought that was such a great touch. Absolutely. We end up finding out that winter fell is now officially burned down gets knocked out after making that great speech. I don't know if it was this episode episode eight now, I think. It was ten the iron his his people actually give him up to Ramsay wind up finding out later seasons or in the upcoming season. But for now theon is wholly loss. Winner fell is burnt down the land sorts have one. How did we go from the beginning of season two were everyone was going to defeat the Lancaster? So well, they're on top. And they couldn't be any higher with the merging of families between them and the Tyrol's, and we also see going back to aria the introduction of Jacqueline Hagar and after the three wishes are granted. Right and aria and Gandhari Haapai escapes that we see Jack in Harare changes face. And he offers the coin and tells aria, hey, next time, you.

"Is there to coerce us in a sense is that site to us if you behave in this way, you're going to get rewarded you're going to be valorize a hero. But if you behave in this way, you're going to be punished and is going to be bad with what seems interesting to me about that. And it's something you draw a lot in in the book is that which stories we tell and which stories will become used to telling filter the world for us. So I think there could be a tendency when you're reading a story to thank you reading some version of the truth and. Maybe it is some version of the truth. But you've a lot in the book about the way, our idea of ourself and the way our idea of our relationship to others is very culturally mediated, and the idea that stories are kind of filtering mechanism through which we get those cultural lessons is interesting to me. Can you can you talk a bit about the way stories differ from from culture to culture to to make that possible? Yeah. Absolutely say say, so you can see eye simplistically, you can see kind of human behavior happening on those two levels and the for the first level is bar logical. So so there were a things that we have been doing for so long is become baked into our brains in and that's that kind of fairy basic rules about how to how humans alone, the Darwinian all living things won't see survive and reproduce. And humans have a very specific way in which we solve that problem with as I said with this social creature that live in tribes that we do that group usually so that gives us these particular brains that that are designed to. Soave that prime minister in way, and he's a basic things like the universe. Mirella accesses selfish verses selfless for the reasons. I've just outlined what we tend to favor our group before ourselves. So these these are the very basic way. So so these are coming out is it you'll find stories sitting all across the world, but on top of that kind of basic biological level. Humans a bone with is going to semi finish brain. And we have these huge days than to childhoods. And the reason we have these extended shelves, which because the power of of our own local culture is incredibly important to who we are. So over this basic, universal human brain that we're born with we have a couple of decades in which our local culture, kind of associates own kind of power, and these the kind of local stories that we can build on top of those kind of, you know, very basic going to bar logical universal stories. So as I said, you know, all around the world, the moral accesses selfish versus selfless and the trouble for Gandhari saying be selfless. Don't be selfish. But on top of that, go, coach and coaches. Okay. It's all answering those questions in the most specific way saying, okay? If I wanted to if I want to kind of. Be kind of averge. Remember, this particular group power should I act and what I do in selfie is. I specifically look the differences between how people in the west solve that problem and how people in east solve that problem. I look at that. Because that's what psychologists have been doing so ten twenty years with very interesting results. And of course, in a nutshell in the west wing individualists. So we kind of prioritize ourselves individuals and in the east that farm will kind of community kinda group machine kind of cognition so on so for that kind of basic biological levels. We have coach going to mediate spy biology at kind of shifts its emphasis, this is something that came up in a podcast did a couple months back. Michael pollen when we're talking about both psychedelics in the structure of the human brain. But this idea that when we tell these stories when we absorb these stories that it's not just a narrative we're getting, but it actually affects how we see the world that literally affects. Structure of our brain that this is something I think is a little bit hard to grop, including for me us done a lot of reading into it. Now that the cultural context in which you grow up, it changes what we notice it changes sort of what parts of our brain what parts of our perception are really strong. And so literally does change our experience of the world isn't just a narrative..

"Do you know are you familiar with like commercial directors? Yeah. Yeah. By the way, you can stop as familiar with things you're saying Barry thing, you're like a radio guy. So I'm just wondering if you know because like you have watch television. I know about direct. Okay. Okay. So yeah. So because I watch ton of television. I didn't know some oh shoot. I thought they were all just real people pretending that they liked subway, sandwiches and stuff. Really? Okay. I know we did surprise you to know that in every commercial whoever is saying, whatever they're saying is very very nervous. They're about to get fired at all at all times. My god. Yeah. That's that kind of that's kind of hot. A possible. Fucking issue happening. I liked that. If there's ever a couple who were like holding hands or arm around each other. They've just met, and they are probably disgusted by just. That's what about the guy who lost all that waiting subway sandwiches. He is he an actor too. Because forcibly know that's one of the most recent work. I've only seen a few of his most recent things, but they're upsetting. Yeah. They are where you saw them. Yeah. I accidentally was on a weird shared drive on the silk road. Okay. You got to scrub your computer. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I have I gave it the bleach dip. Okay. So you have a white laptop. You've taken the services of a commercial director as this guy. Micheal Gandhari or something like that shell gone, dri dot, yes. I knew it was kind of like a gay pronunciation of it. And he you can say that in that manner because you are bisexual. Yes. And I don't I guess, maybe I can even you know. Yeah. You're probably shouldn't. I shouldn't. So. But I am a bisexual adult sex, man. You are a B S A SF BSA SM. That's what my other tattoo says. Because as I've progressed I crossed off sex child. I didn't have chance to get away. But once you hit I'll be getting what's what's it called after a began some after paychecks and hobby fuck in print money year. Well, I mean, those after checks they dwindle dwindle in this one. I needed to hit hot. What's going on with you? They're trying to shut down the trying to bulldoze my mom's. They're trying to pull does it. How are they trying to it seems like they would with bulldozer and do it or not while my mom is she's currently my mom and my Oakland. uncle? Change yourself to the front of our house because they want they want to pave pave it over and put up a parking lot Ono the Joni Mitchell special. What is that? I'm not familiar. So that what does she she's change herself to the house like a like a bicycle or something? Yeah. I guess like a lot of different things can be chained, but bicycles probably the best example. She's changed herself. Like one arm to one set of bay windows the other arm to right? So no one steals her. Yes. And no one can steal. And it goes all the way around the house, and you have to go through her legs to like a wheel. Oh, no. So people just Papa wheel off a bike. If you still I don't know about you. They come in single come in pairs like that movie. Call me by name. Okay. So. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. The fruit confused because you know, I'm on Kito diet. So I had no idea. So so you don't know fruits because you don't eat them yet. Because I don't have time to learn them once now, I've learned all the vegetables and shit. I'm room for fruit. Did you used to know them and they've just slipped out of your mind? Like, there's I used to well fruits, then I learned prepositions and fruits went out of my mind. "It's called forever. I think it comes out September fourteenth. Just put up Mark on that. Okay. I've started watching to shows screeners for two shows, which is unlike Alison is not something I usually do, and they're both interesting for different reasons, and I'm sure the people we'll talk about them quite a bit when they come around. The first is kidding, which I know Allison is also seen a bit of which is Jim Carey's I guess, return. I returned to television since in living color. It's a sensually a show about what would happen if Mr. Rogers had a nervous breakdown, and it's very interesting performance episodes of your directed by Michelle Gandhari. It's a, it's a choice. You know, it has a show with real style and a real point of view, and it's definitely not going to be for everybody, but it's an amazing cast. It's Franklin Gela. It's Catherine keener. It's really a high level Judy Greer with an actual part as an actual person for a change. So that's really good. And then the other one is maniac, which is Cary Joji Fukunaga's TV show is also his first TV show since true detective starring Jonah hill and Emma. Stone, and I've only seen two zones. Mixed back so far? Definitely one of the best looking television shows I've ever seen, but also very hard to understand gaffe and I'm very curious to see if he will stick with that one. Yeah. Would you say it's a vibe not on similar to sharp objects? You know, it's not so much mood as it is like a text book. You know, there's a lot of information to draw together so like sharp objects, you could watch it and just let it flow over you. This is a show that you got to keep your eye on the ball all the time, which is a different kind of viewing experience specially with a streaming show. I think that the show that I'm most curious about, I am looking forward to it alive, talked about this is Romanoff's. I just I, the idea of him doing an anthology that's loosely tied together. I've starting to get a little bit frustrated by some of the like preordained limitations. People are putting on their shows, whether it's like it's an anthology series or it's a limited series. And there never really end the Haji limited series. If one thing in it seems to click, I think, obviously it's been awhile since we've heard from him both artistically, but publicly talking about some of the things that transpired in the in in on the production of of madmen. And I'm kind of curious to hear about that. I'm curious to see about how that is discussed in the context of the show, but I'm mostly fascinated because obviously I have tremendous amount of affection for madman, and I've pretty much affection for every single person on Romanoff's in terms of in front of the camera town, some kind of just I can't see it. Yeah, I agree. I think the conversation around that show is going to be really tricky. I certainly don't really know how to handle it. I think that's probably common. I as interested, the show itself. What I'm probably most excited for to see Matthew winder with a real. Budget? Yeah, like madman for both like where they were filming reasons and just pure budget reasons. Like literally never went outside. Yeah. I mean, one block of like the, you know, the plaza hotel would be in the back what they were able to do with that budget was really incredible. But this was like seventy million dollars and filmed all over the world and like looks like a million bucks. And I think it'll be really interesting if like if the caliber of the resources matches the caliber of the writing, I think there's a lot of potential there. I had a very unfair reaction to the trailer, even though I am very excited about it and concerned about what the discourse around it is going to be in how will grapple with it. But I just wish it was a period piece which is just not fair. But I know that Matthew under knows how to make a bang-up period piece, and I'm not sure based on the one feature film he made that he knows how to make something about contemporary times. That's a, that's a very fair criticism. And this movie is obviously set in contemporary times, and I'm sure there will be some historical, Russian actual Romanoff stuff that goes on..

"I never thought of the idea of standing grid of starting grade, but that would be pretty interesting. The funny thing is that before we came in here Gord my jenness the same question. Oh, wow. Okay. You guys must be thinking about that. Yeah, you know, I, I've never even considered it for NASCAR, but I think it would be interesting. You know, I'm trying to think of another. They're mostly the stock car. Ish type of series are the ones that do rolling starts. But me and I would say the majority of motor sports majority of four wheel and two wheel motor sports. For that matter do do standing starts they do this, the tires cyst like, is it because the tires may be different in some air dynamic way to NASCAR than other other racing now, I don't even know why. I don't know. I think they just think it's more exciting because cars get going faster. I can't even imagine it would be highly entertaining to see store and start in NASCAR because there would just be mayhem. I mean, dude, spinning tires trying to get traction. I think it would be pretty damn exciting. It would be interesting to see. Yeah. Then they get into cars. It talked about the all new Mustang, what you thought about it. It's okay. Then they said, based on automating factors, latest Cup design, which one do you think it has the best looking car and then gives you the Mustang, the Camaro in the Camry? What did you put or are we not allowed to say it's like voting? I don't know. I put I put the Mustang look sweeter. I for me, it's a tossup. I kind of big the Camaro even though I liked the mustang's a car better. I like I dig the way that they made the nose on that Camaro. But I mean the center of the car looks at same. Yeah. And then the next one was based on each automatic facture is latest design. Which one do you think looks more like a stock car you would find in your dealership Camera on that one. Yeah. Well, yeah, I don't know. I mean, they'll do a good job on the nosecone. I mean, the nosecone looks like the car. It's just the middle of the car. It's it doesn't matter if it's a fusion or if it's whatever was before the tourists or Impala or alumina, or maxima, or whatever the hell Chevy uses. Monte-Carlo the Monte Carlo in these Monica, the center of the car all looks the same. So I mean, basically what they're asking which nose cone looks the most like regular car. So all they're asking you, then we get into other things. This is basically like your news rep of the weekend. They, you know, they really are like jumping around, aren't they and a weekly too, because here's the news before day. Were you aware the two thousand nineteen the name of the NASCAR Camping World truck series. We'll change the NASCAR gander, outdoor truck series. I was so hoping. When you said, are you aware?
