And that's why it's so crazy it's like we can spend all these time talking about adjustments and these and it's like yeah bobby. Portis scored six straight points. Because he hit a three rebound. It's not just the shot making but it's like the defenses are are actually playing well as crazy as that sounds. It just seems so sophisticated at this point and so good at getting to what they want to get to. It's been the defensive day. I think about eight and trapping. Chris middleton pick and rolls and then having to recover back into the paint against when he's supposed to be guarding janas. This stuff is just very high level. The margin for error again is just like a hair right now. I also want to say one more thing about drew holiday. Because i think this happened either earlier in the fourth or sometime in the second half where the bucks missa shot. I think devon booker has the ball under the who like defensive rebound and like holiday. Just kind of sneaks into the paint and ball. I remember like literally like saying on press row like like an old immigrant data. I was like what a steel. What a steel like. Just so india just foreshadowing like he was going to do that later. He's been so good and so exciting to watch and good for him after the offensive struggles in listen. I was the dude who wrote after game too like hey. Pat coniston. Listen he's having this series of his life. He shooting fifty percent from three. I think he's fifteen of thirty. And i think he's gonna lose some switchers but he's won some two he competes. Yeah and he'll draw fouls and he's been tremendous on the glass and the offensive glass in particular and he looks super confident hitting those threes and brin forbes is basically out of the rotation now and so they need pat cottage. Histories has so. I think the question you're kind of getting at is that that ice. Oh look i mean. I think the sons themselves were kind of you know upset with their lack of ball movement. That was a theme that emerged from their post game. Press conference where they were talking about. We need more ball movement. It's tough because i do think to a degree. That's also the nature of playoff basketball. Right you're going to hunt guy until the coaches forced to adjust and this game. It backfired because drew came in. But i mean what drew picks up to more fouls etc you know. Put the box in a high pressure moment by forcing them to play drew with those two fouls it just so happened to work out. I mean he's also very smart player. He had a funny moment after game. Five were he was asked about playing those two fouls and he was like. I knew i just had to be smarter. And he was like my first foul. Whatever is my second foul on coming around to screen and booker stops and falls. That's a foul. But i knew like i have to. He was basically insinuating. He knows that he he can avoid those ones. A little bit more easily. moving forward. so yeah i. i don't know that. I hate that strategy because to a degree. I think. That's a huge part about play basketball. I mean if you think back series ago we're kind of or throughout the playoffs right. We're always like why aren't teams hunting. Trae young like what's going on. Like why are they. Get out of your offense to hunt this one defender. So did they strike the perfect balance. Maybe not maybe if they're running too many book 'isolation but if they're not attacking the mismatch maybe we're calling them out for that you know. Yeah i i personally don't have an issue mismatch basketball in the playoffs. I i think super smart. I think the bucks have done a really good job of it with khris middleton. They've done a really good job of it with when janas the pick and roll ball handler. Brook lopez come up to set the screen and he goes at like crowder. Whoever on it's like they bring Usually it's mikhail bridges through. They're attacking but they have in. Its campaign when campaigns in the game or chris paul but like they have a plan in place they want. They know who they want to set the screen and has been just kind of. "The fact that he only played thirty five when you look at some of his teammates to get Devon booker plays forty two eight and we just said played forty five basically and then you look across the line and it's like ju holidays. Playing forty two janas plan forty. Chris middleton plan forty five pat connotations playing thirty four. So it's just like chris. Paul is pat cotton playing practically the same number of minutes in a final great. That's pretty wild so you know. He did play the entire. Fourth quarter chris. Paul did and as you said. He was excellent in it but he was drifting throughout the game and in those minutes when devon booker is on the bench at the start of the second quarter. Chris falls on the floor. And so you would well. They haven't been good with in the solo. Paul minutes in this series and that's a huge change from what it was like during the regular season when the suns had a positive net rating when paul was on the floor and booker is not. Obviously the finals is a different level of competition. But that's made a huge difference for them. They can't win the non booker minutes. It's been a theme. I think for the entire playoffs too. Like when bookers on the floor of the offense just craters regardless if paul is on the floor not and so. I don't know what you know you can go back and look at those minutes circumstantial. But like does chris. Paul needs to be more aggressive scoring disea- need to just i don't have i do think that you can make an argument for him to look for his shot. A little bit more particularly at he was on the floor. I believe for much of that. Six minutes stretch in the second and it didn't necessarily feel like he was looking for his offense then at the same time. What's funny is i do think. Booker's part of what makes sons great is that they have so much depth. They have these shooters they. You can't cheat off them like the buxton game to otherwise they'll go nuts. You have to do something about eight. A roll man. Booker has obviously in no way i trying to say he's a negatively. Impacting this team at the same time. I do think it's fair to wonder is like what's the best version of the sons is the nights when booker goes off or is it the nights when there's a little bit more balanced with the offense. Here's all say is when we were talking to drew holiday about the steel. He said something he was like. We all knew booker was going to shoot it now to degree. That's about every team in the clutch. Right but i think there is an element of tunnel vision. He had on that last play where he also he. I don't think he ever considered. I'm going to pass the ball like i'm gonna i'm gonna create the best shot from my team versus. I'm going create the show for myself so he drives into the paint. He sees two guys he spins back but even in that moment it never felt like he was going to pass right. "It was another weekend spent in lovely phoenix arizona. Your favorite place in the world. It was under one hundred degrees in phoenix this weekend and i felt like a whole new man. What a privilege it was to be game five. I had an incredible time as you can imagine. We're all standing up on our feet watching those last two minutes. So that was incredible. Now back here In sunny los angeles you know mike. It's funny something else. I did this weekend. And i'm not trying to pick on you but people have been talking about. This might be the greatest one of the best finals of the last ten years right one of the final best finals the last fifteen years. So you know haussa. Highlights they post all. These like full series highlight school game highlights and i love to go back and watch the highlights from certain finals games and i was watching highlights from game seven of the two thousand ten nba finals. We need to cut cut. Cut everything up. It's just funny to think about because that had the quote unquote trappings of all. You know what you want right game. Seven to legendary franchises. Look at the talent all over the floor. That game was bad okay. That game was bad. It's like fifty three forty nine in the third quarter. It was a rough flight. It was a rock. That's the and. I'm not saying all rock fights are bad but it. It really illustrates how great this finals has been in terms of shot. Making the level of execution is so high that you don't need to marquee franchises in a bunch of recognizable hall of famers to have a great basketball series and this has been a great basketball series yet real quick. What happened in the last game has nothing to do what it's going to happen in the next game. If you're a Phoenix fan, the thing I mean, Phoenix has I told people this going into this. Phoenix has played some really turd ball games in the postseason. I mean, the Clippers won two of them against them, and they didn't have they didn't have. Leonard. Phoenix will throw in some bad games, just as the box have thrown in bad games. Phoenix pecked terribly last night. And the Bucks played very, very well. Devin Booker was so terrible. I still think Devin Booker's second best player in the NBA, Devin Booker played so terribly. He was benched. He didn't play the last 15 minutes of the game. He couldn't make a shot to save his life. He was nag and annoyed by the fact that Drew holiday was picking him up at the centre. Courtland. I don't think Devin Booker is going to play terrible in Game four. I still think on margin. Phoenix is a slightly better team. Than the box for the Bucks to win. They obviously everybody knew they had to win both games in Milwaukee. Realistically, I think the Bucks have to win four in a row. 11 of them. I think they have to win Game four here. You go down to Phoenix, You lose Game five. It means you have to win Game six and seven that that's tough. I think they have to win Game five Go up 32. And then I think they have to clinch it in Milwaukee in Game six. It's not like it used to be where no road teams ever win Game seven that has changed. I still think it's the hardest team for a road team to win the game to win for a road team to win in the playoffs, And that is Game seven. The Bucks did it in Brooklyn. I know that, but They got to win three more on everyone. I think that that's going to be a hard thing to be able to pull off. And I think Phoenix is going to play better, but you never know.
