September is back to school season guys since suicide prevention month, which means you suicide prevention is on my mind more than usual. As you know, I'm a licensed art therapist at Clark county educational service center in Springfield, Ohio, helps schools meet the mental health needs of thousands of students. Most people think of suicide prevention with youth means focusing on trauma and handling and handing out hotline information. And of course, sometimes you do those things, but my favorite suicide prevention program, and the reason I'm writing is called sources of strength. That is a youth led suicide prevention program. It has been used in schools across the U.S. and Canada, and Australia. Sources of strength are things like positive Friends, mentors, and mental health. These are some of the protective factors that we can rely on when we're stressed or to help us get through a crisis. And for the past year, I've been trying to get sources of strength in every single one of my county schools and with funding and support from the Ohio, suicide prevention foundation and prevention first with an exclamation point. Schools in Ohio can implement sources of strength at no cost. So if you're listening, he just won a grant for like ten grand or something like that. His genius grant? And it's interesting to me. Because and i've talked about this a bit with with our coast before raise feel like women's basketball and women's wrestling have seen a similar growth trajectory over the last few years and seeing where the wnba has risen over. The last few years is exciting because it's setting foundations. that are going to help it. Catapult popularity wise and really build it into the mainstream sports zeitgeist for long time. I mean everything from what they've been able to accomplish this year with the w twenty five campaign and even just new. The new uniform rollout and excitement there. You know everything on top of that. And i think with with wrestling no. I've been watching wrestling. Cincinnati six classic. Who recruit a. kid i was. I was seven years old when that was happening in wcw. And i remember watching that and getting really caught up in it. And since i was a kid i was pro. Wcw and so. I thought you know. And i so i grew up at a time. Win women's wrestlers. It was a real estate of flux. How they were treated how they were promoted on the show. And especially if you go just a few years after that and and what ariza's those came into these last. Several years have been really really fun to be a fan of women's wrestling because we went from a time when it seemed like Would we be able to get for mainstream promotions or would be able to see women featured heavily on a strong card and now we're in an era where from one standpoint you're looking at two wrestlemainia main event matches featuring women which has been fantastic. Obviously you're an impact which is no stranger to featuring women heavily on the card. I mean you can go back to the gail. Kim awesome kong days even before then where that's been a stronghold but i guess this is all just me setting the stage to ask. What do you think is really kind of led to this resurgence in almost women's sports in general over the last few years. We're we're starting to feel. It's not even a buzz anymore. It's just a pure movement And what do you feel needs to be done to continue pushing that forward so it can into new on the mainstream. I think one hundred percent spot on with the correlation between the growth of the wnba women's wrestling kind of taking a step forward in the last five to ten years specifically When i first started watching wrestling yeah. There were a lot of women that i did not look like on tv. It wasn't until you know. I saw beth phoenix than natalia. In austin con- like you mentioned. I realize own. You can be strong athlete and do this. You don't have to be you know swimsuit model because that has never been me will never be me and you know. It's kind of like earlier. Where i saw myself in d. where i was allowed to really embrace and be confident in being competitive and fiery and you know emotional on the court and caring about it and you know understanding how hard it is to be great as an athlete and great at anything You know that. That was kind of that moment for me in wrestling when i saw myself in.

Don't have a problem with that for me. I thought that remember when we were going over match predictions i dealt with the card as offered at night and they had slated in their thunder rosa. I i know you guys recall that. So i actually said thunder rosa. Had i known thunder. Rosa was not going to be in this. No i would not have gone with chelsea green. I would have gone with genocide. I guess he really loves him. Some lady frosts. And taryn terrell kaz. He he's yet to switch over to the other cameraman. What the hell's going on strike and it was like that for just five minutes reaches had that one angle with lady froth in tarrant rail and they're interacting in everything and lady frost just. She never glad up on her character. She just continue to play around. And and everything. I don't know she even knew what was going on there but she just stayed with it and i just geeked out at that i loved. I laughed. I geeked out at that. I i loved it. Yeah but i mean really. Despite those two little technical hiccups everything else was still pretty much good For the most part they're still pretty much good so one to ten. I'll give this pay per view. A i would give this just looking at the matches here again. And they all were pretty damn competitive. All of them were pretty much worthy of being on this. Pay per view car to I would probably give it a respected. I'm gonna give it a eight out of ten. I can't go any higher. I won't.

I was just on this show most recently but definitely off in on these past couple of weeks and i said see guys man. Look at the way. W has been not bulking. Leyla hirsch she's got this match. That's coming up against camille for this championship and you would swear that tony kahn. And them sought a backlash on social media. All the means all jokes that was running around about this matchup and you could almost make an argument that it was okay hands off. We're not gonna even bader promoting this less. Just do some spots there with camille and that's it. We only need a bader with layla. Hirsch which is over and done with remedy brought that up couple times past couple of weeks. I even flat out said this looks very laughable but man the way that this match was laid out tonight kudos kudos to whoever laid this match out because they made layla i eight. They totally understood the layla hirsch character. And you know he was essentially okay. Well you're on our pay per view so you're our universe okay. Yeah yeah we we kinda got. An idea had her doing you over there. But that's irrelevant that he had no no. No we're gonna build you up so good we're gonna make you look like a million bucks now. You're you're you're in really good hands over here in this universe we got you and i mean nwea. They had her looking like a legit threat to camille championship to see. Leyla hirsch notches. Use her speed. let's also use her amateur rustling background and joss german suplexes to fricken camille. Why you go to see her. Cleverly figure out ways to get camille in a submission hold. I love the fact that also. Here's one of my biggest problems with some of these matches that we get some times when we got this whole david and goliath thing. That's going on. Sometimes when he comes to david and goliath you know within ninety seconds. We fucking see goliath flat on his ass. He like the fuck. I like the fact. That leyla hirsch. In the way this match setup. Leyla hers denied instantly. Plant camille on campus. I love the fact that nana you're gonna have to do a lot more if you wanna take camille off her feet and you want her to be laid out on the canvas. You're gonna have to do a lot more than that. And that's exactly what her she had to do. right down to the point. I love the fact that hers was pretty much going low. She's doing drop kicks sudanese in and strike in like all kinds of cool. She loved it. I loved i ate it up. I ate it up. And camille was just selling like a mojo in all those probably one of my pet peeves with camille early on there is that you know okay for everything appearance wise and she sells big time but when it comes to her really selling an ass kick in some time she can come off no selling. He's been cleaning that up. She's been doing better definitely better. But this was instance here. Were camille was just really going above and beyond to really sale here you know. It wasn't overly animated by any stretch. Nothing like that whatsoever. Camille literally was like okay. This is about this title. We need to make this be competitive. Okay we hear shit that some people are saying online include neff fucking lee sanders fuck you lee sanders gas as i know i. Let's let's fucking go there and less fucking hit a home run. And that's exactly what these girls did. I i love this. I love this match. Even when camille had tried to go for her trademark. spear the first go round. Leyla hirsch jus- whoop see. "Hopefully by now. Because i know we've been talking about the a product for few months now since they've pretty much been back definitely says they've worked out this new deal with fights and everything. Hopefully you've made your business to get that fight. Tv subscription and you've at least been checking out what's been going on with nwea hopefully the potions we've been doing for you guys all over the course of the past several months as enticed you. And you've checked it out seen what's going on in everything because tonight i gotta take my hat off literally to all the people behind this. Nwea empower pay per view event. Whether it be from the people in front of the camrose or working behind the cameras definitely those behind the scenes. This was a pretty damn good event. I would have to say. Obviously obviously when you're doing something for the very first time when you're doing something where this is new found territory and you got. There's always going to be. There's always gonna be some wrinkles. There's always gonna be some things in which kinks you just gotta work it out and there's always next time okay. It'd be no different than when i did my awesome kong panel and there's a few things that i had took from that as far as the learning experience goes okay. Don't do this do this instead. Don't do that. So i mean it happens with with the best of us all so i know there are a lot of people that were complaining about the pay per view for the first couple of minutes because all we got was a black screen and we kept hearing when a mickey james song. She's a grown ass woman like yeah grown as woman but we had a blake screen. What the hell's going on here you know. That was for bow. Several minutes louder. People were complaining but nobody was really trying to take it upon themselves to find out exactly what was going off from a technical difficulty standpoint. Will it actually turns out that there were power issues at the chase arena there. Yeah that she didn't know about that yet. There's actually some issues going on with the power and as a result of what was going on with the power because the power was actually out for a little bit which in turn triggered an alarm there at the arena so once everything had got die down it took several minutes for them to get the power back. It wasn't that long of a delay a lease for those of us that were watching via fight. Tv we were most likely dealing with a black screen from what i saw. We were dealing with a black screen for about. I would say six to eight minutes top so low. Bit of inconvenience right. Especially if you're you paid for it okay. So you didn't do one of those little raffle contest. So you'd be able to write you as she came out of your pocket for it. I get the complaints but now you kind of know what was going on behind the scenes but despite that everything pretty much went off without a hitch tonight as far as empower goes so you know just overall thoughts of this hour. We're going to talk about the matches. Definitely give you guys you. You kinda got an idea how we've been doing it as a late budget's overall just instant reactions to this pay per view events and i know one elephant. That's gonna be the room that we need to address. There's probably going to be those that want to maybe have me compare this to the wwe evolution pay-per-view. Let me just say off the break. That's that's an unfair comparison. Because anything that you're gonna take and you're gonna essentially compare to the wwe that's really unfair especially from just production value standpoint just from what. Wwe's able to do with their camera guys and all that behind the scenes totally totally totally totally on fair so we shouldn't even go in that route. We should just strictly look at this. Nwea pay per view and just judge you for what it's worth and i fell. Honestly they hit a home. Run billy corgan mickey. Jane's and everybody involved. I felt that they hit a home. Run with this. One was very pleased to my ears to hear that. As far as l- the tickets go at the gate. They sold out like the all the seats. They filled up so dowels refreshing to hear. I can't wait to hear specifically had to pay review by rates did for this event. I think when you factor in a lot of things you gotta just put it all in just one pot. I think that may definitely determine whether or not we're gonna get ourselves another empower pay per view event but my two cents from a distance. I actually hope that we do yet. Another empower pay per view. Because what they did tonight was definitely that damn good. No bullshit intended Or no pun intended. Whatever but Man to see medusa. Wwe hall of famer legend. Medusa pop up bad asked to see awesome. Khan i am such a huge huge mark huge fan of awesome con to see her return and just that emotional moment that she had there with gail cam. That's the stuff that you just remember for years to come and you be that wrestling fan especially a fan that follows all things women's wrestling. You just go. Hey remember back. Just you just don't forget stuff like that whatsoever you you just don't so you know funny because i remember several weeks ago some you guys reacted to my ideas and you gave me a lot of praise. Hey just saying would be pretty bad as if maybe we received trish stratus make some type of the cameo of really help put this bad boy over or hey how about. Aj lee kinda cool. I remember somebody guys were going lee. You actually thinks some of these girls would actually up. You don't think they would be upsetting the mighty headquarters in stanford connecticut by doing such. And i told you guys know. I think honestly is just a matter of what is feasible for those respected women that i had mentioned feasible. As far as one house their schedule any conflicts to given the fact that we're still dealing with this pandemic. Do they feel safe and comfortable. Enough to wanna travel lau right now sally. Or you're able to hold your head up high not an approval and say all right yet and as far as the direction of weirdo. Women's industry is right now when it comes to women's wrestling it's in a really damn good place right now. Event saw the second one miss the first day so i missed the opportunity to watch the smackdown women's championship between bianca belair and sasha banks but history-making in the situation as far as belair in banks is concerned the first black women to compete for the women's championship and the fact that two black women close the show at an event such wrestlemainia historic fantastic Bianca belair winning the championship over sasha banks. They've got themselves a superstar. Man they have. The wwe has an absolute superstar and bianca. Belair charisma off the charts very attractive. Good luck athletic. Strong very great. Great talker great on the msci she's She's got some good things man. You got some good things. Going one thing i will say about the wwe despite the fact of Some of the storyline that they have one thing that they are having a good. The good in plenty in is women. As far as the wrestlers are concerned. I mean you know. I could see some program down the road with her. Becky lynch goes back with charlotte flare. you know i think the omi they can resurrect her.
