"If marsh had said what he really feels and to be candid, I have no doubt. The Jesse marsh of Racine Wisconsin, a U.S. international and probably let's be honest, future United States manager on the men's side. Who's the most trusted player spread that I went to the Tyler Adams boost or anything? I said, I have no doubt that this man is rooting for the United States as loudly as I am. But you know, if he said that, yes, the United States, the headlines in the Yorkshire evening post, the mirror, the tabloids. It would have been like America first. They just write themselves. Let's be honest. So Jesse essentially was saying no story to be had here lads. While we're on the topic side issue, love you asking, why would Jesse even want to become U.S. manager? You know, being a Premier League coaches ten times bigger than international management, which is true. I'd agree with that in every single case. Bob being U.S. manager in 2026. When you're not just a manager of the national team, but you'll be the de facto face of the game on the men's side in the United States at a moment when the whole sport is going to go ballistically next level. Just remember that because this opportunity who will lead the team into 2026 really is as a job on the football side for an American once in a lifetime. By the way, that makes his possible answer even more complex because if you're right and Jesse marsh does want to lead the team in 2026, how does he really want Greg berhalter to do in this World Cup? Of course he wants to see his boys do well. Of course he wants to see the U.S. win, but he doesn't want it to go so well that berhalter is still in the job in 2026. It's just wheels within wheels within wheels roger. Okay, wolves, nil, arsenal two, despite the reported stomach bug going around the gunner's dressing room, a patient arsenal performance was rewarded with two Martin odegaard goals the Norwegian opened the scoring in the 54th minute providing the finishing touch on a fine arsenal move that culminated in a dinked cross from the byline by Fabio Vieira 20 minutes later, a zinchenko cross from the same position on the byline eventually wound up at odegaard's feet who fired it past Jose saw once more the Gunners go into the World Cup layoff top with a 5 point advantage that will keep them top at Christmas. They've got super Mikhail Arteta Raj. Top versus bottom, a game which began with Shaka. It's joined up his lunch over the course of the first 15 minutes. He had to be replaced by Fabio Vieira. The young Portuguese who essentially, I don't know how he felt having to really face his own national team. First half. A bit of an anti climax. That's not a lot of the ball, wolves discipline in three banks across the field denied them any space really held them at arms length by one Gabrielle Jesus cut inside and dry which flicked the bar 11 games without a goal now, but who's counting? You still magnificent. Oh, a few strikers look cuter with that. I just miss sad face and Jay-Z, and he didn't score, but again, he was everywhere, was at the heart of the move, the diddly to the breakthrough Dave. We had to wait a long time for it, but when it came, it was magnificent. Yeah, Fabio Vieira doing good work, the sub down the left. And knocks the ball back. And there he is, oligarch, a man is looking forward to his 6 week vacation rod, puts it in the back of the net. Yeah, it was Jewish, we should know who played that beautiful slipping ball to find old Fabio seems to take a heavy touch. But up stepped over to guard, finish from close range, stunning moment, a team creativity and wonder. And incoming wars manager lopetegui looking in from the stands, tried to shuffle in a few manic changes, but to no regard. Arsenal, they just kept charging forward with VRV, confidence, flicks, and tricks in chenka. Oh, causing menace, ping ponging shots, finished by odegaard with a rifle of a finish. What a player Real Madrid let going in. Oh, and arsenal credit to them for giving him the platform to ruthlessly thrive. He charged off with swagger and it hit me David. This arsenal started to feel a bit a bit less in that we keep waiting for them to wilt. And they haven't. This was a mature performance also with challenged. Yet remain patient, they never looked in trouble. They just had to wait for the chances to come. They knew they would, and when they did, they took him. Yeah, well, Leicester, if you remember, always kept on doing it on the break that was just unprecedented. Arsenal do it with possession, and they just grind you down, grindy down, grind you down. They have so many weapons so many people who can hurt you, they play with such confidence. They play with such togetherness. And it's never that exciting to see a team play wolves, even when they're spanking them because of, as you said, the banks of three, the multiple banks of three that wolves lay out. But oh my God, it was just wonderful to watch the way that arsenal ended up cutting them open at the end roger. Yeah, wolves from a rooted to the bottom of the table up at has got his work cut out officially. He starts work today. But yeah, I think the strengths that can be drawn from this performance organization, the beginnings of discipline, so there will be some positives to build off even after defeat, despite just 8 league goals scored all season, but arsenal. Car bless you. God bless you ask the fans. They made their best start to a league season. In the clubs a 135 year history, 5 points clear at the top of the table. But that Turner effect, Dave, it continues. Yeah, it certainly it certainly did. That's it. It's the Matt Turner effect Ross, that's the only way to explain it. Yep, no team has had 37 points after 30 games and not won the league. We can say this, osler bin, by some stretch, the best, most consistent football team in English football over the course of the first 9 holes of this strange season. This strange wonky cherry rig season. The first 11, we know David can win the league. The question mark is really, can they all stay fit? Can you handicap a chances as we go to the back now?

"Young young do I need to tell you what that is that is wrapped duo Bama Yang lifestyle featuring second time and let's take the next question. What's up Anthony davo from crown point? Big, big governor. I just have a huge question. Once we beat Chelsea, because it's inevitable, how long until people start taking our small seriously for actual title runners for the Premier League. And solidifying second, big fan, love you guys. Anthony yellow gorgeous big love you're asking the question of the season and I believe the answer is let's chat 9 a.m. Sunday morning. I want to be clear I do believe in this arsenal team. I think they are fantastic. I love watching them. More than any other. Their movement, the team play, the collective idea of their football, it's fascinating actually to hear Muhammad elneny talk about how all of it results from the firing of Uber by Arteta, which was a moment everything just seemed to click inside that arsenal locker room, partially by losing his ego, oversee gave that bit implied. I think, but I'll then he said, after that moment, players were quote scared to step out of line. Arteta thrown down a gauntlet he showed he demanded what he wanted and the level at which he wanted it that could be now underperforming from that moment on. And the challenge for arsenal is they can't just be good. They can't just be good to watch. They can't descend to this. They're going to be borderline bloody perfect to beat big teams to not switch off against lesser ones to out physical grinders and to win games when they play badly. All those hallmarks that we know are true winning teams because they're battling Manchester City, which is as close as football will get to the chess world's big city, face Fulham. This weekend and I do believe this is a massive game for arsenal for uros or this Uber moment. It's going to be cathartic if they can win. You know, to be candid, if I was Graham Potter, I would not actually put over anywhere near the field, especially after that BT sport commercial just a sideshow that you don't want, you don't need, but for arsenal, they're young warriors. They are on a hero's journey, make no doubt. I do not know where it ends. But this will truly be a moment they will celebrate and it will mean a lot if they can emerge with three point Arsenal fans. I know I know you keep telling me you chill that Gabrielle Jesus has not scored in 8 long games because he does so much hard work in all the areas of the pitch. He's creating his decoy in his tracking back. He's tackling his Mikel Arteta talking up Gabby Jay. That's going to change you know he's getting the situation is getting the chances is contributing to the team. I know a lot has happened to win matches the way he competes to a revolt to every single action is incredible and that will come. And he needs to be patient. He's been through that in the past and he needs to learn those lessons and don't stop doing the other things and he's been so well because that's going to maintain the level of him and the team. Go that sounds loud with your rule B if Jesus re summons that goal scoring touch in this one though. Statues will be smelted. Roger, the FIFA World Cup trophy is coming to New Jersey. Raj in Rochester New York. Liverpool fan. Deep question. Can I test this up the cost of having a service to come in and remove all the sharp objects in my home after a weekend match? I'd like to know if my content would like to know too. Timmy, Rochester, big love to you all. I adore the festival of lilacs. Yes, Tottenham played Liverpool Sunday 1130 M Eastern Time on peacock. Some game. Really, which manager needs it more. Let's look at Liverpool first. The question is really which Liverpool will show up. The team who beat Manchester City and Napoli midweek are the one who wilted to defeat against lowly nutty and forest and the united Liverpool team chaos hard to believe, honestly, Tim, it was only 5 months ago that I tweeted, I think Liverpool were going to Wembley for like maybe the 87th time give or take last season. A 20 something like, why do Liverpool fans just get all the fun of these big days out? Look so fun being a Liverpool fan and it's so well to me. You've experienced in which joy this past couple of years, but it certainly feels so bloody cold so miserable like you were all basking in the sun on the beach at a storm, a terrible storm just rolled in out of nowhere, safe. At the beginning of a white lotus season two, if you know what I mean, Liverpool, they are in enigma.

"I'm not making that up I'm a David. Both beautiful in terms of the writing and also visually just what it looks like to great size. It's a great way which really is pretty true of all the men in blazers books. Let's just say they serve a lot of functions beyond just reading. David just kept shouting as we were doing it heft. So what the heck, man? And I will say the illustrations by the incredible Nate kitsch made this but what we always dreamed of it being when we began to talk about this four years ago, we wanted a really gorgeous object worthy of any coffee table if you don't have a coffee table pre order your coffee table now and they are hopeful so that it's readable for kids in the same way as many of you who have kids will know the book good night stories for rebel girls. If you see for that book, I'll be honest. They're kind of wanted this book to be something that a family is could save her and just dip in and out of and find a real marvel together. If you have a moment, dear listeners, add a review to Amazon, I know it sounds crazy, even if you just go and give it 5 stars. It is crazy how much that silly little act helps bring in a book out in 2022. That is a silly little act in our time. Our day or age. Bringing a book into the world is such a bloody mad thing to do. My wife always says, when I finish a book, I always turn to her and say, God, I'm never gonna do that again. And then like sexy beast for some reason I always get dragged back into doing it and I do love books, but they are works of passion. This book is very much a book of passion. We're grateful to each and every one of you supported this act of creative love, creative madness, big, big love courage. There will be a surreal appearance on the Andy Cohen show watch what happens live this week by tomorrow hours truly. Yeah, we're gonna be on good morning football this week. Yeah, a bunch of other TV periods. Morning Joe, tomorrow morning. Early 7 40. And including in the where's wall though of the television landscape, there is going to be an amazing appearance by roger on a Dave on a certain Devo produced TV show, so. Yeah, rumors of me becoming the new host are greatly exaggerated. Okay, rodge two the football. And this is pretty surreal as well. Arsenal, three, the new arsenal three. The new Liverpool two, less a football match, more of 5 line poem on the human condition arsenal started the scoring in just the first minute, roger, Martin odegaard, with a straight ball Gabriel Martinelli with a diagonal run, or its geometry and just like that, it was one nil, but then it was that striker slash evolution enthusiast of Nunes who leveled things up, but just before halftime. But also ahead again at the far post, dictionary definition judge Ivor Bennett time goal roger changed the entire halftime speech of both managers right after halftime low as if the game wasn't joyous enough. Bobby chompers who came on as a sub made his way onto the scene lashed one home while looking at the ball to level things, but with 14 minutes remaining after Thiago appeared to have made some contact. With Gabrielle Jesus, Michael Oliver awarded a penalty that sucker so coolly converted and is that an Arteta in your pants or are you just happy to see me Arsenal fans? The Gunners win it. Three, two. What a game. What a team. I love them. They stay top of the table. Just reliving that introduction gave me the tingling all over again. The levels, the layers of this story. Remember 7 years in the day, this game came after klops appointment and almost a year since Klopp and a frustrated, beaten down Mikel Arteta had that real argy bargy or pushes and the racer waves and overweight and teeth and hair helmets just flying everywhere on the sideline. And suddenly Liverpool walked out arsenal, a very different creature, a humble, confused being. It felt really like a must win for them to fend off just the season of panic meltdown feelings that are starting to swirl around a seismic 11 points behind arsenal out of touch of the legal leaders before kick-off desperate to prove themselves to themselves their previously well oiled machine. The degrees of precision lost in every single area and suddenly teaching, really, House of Cards in danger of falling down. Their vulnerabilities, obvious to all, you saw it in the pre game ceremonies just a bewildered Trent looking like the coolest kid in class who can't quite work out why he's the one forced to wear the kick me post out on his back and Klopp talked about wanting defensive solidity and attacking unpredictability before the game. That defensive stability, David. It lasted all the 58 seconds, holy crap. It was actually a little less an amazing move from arsenal so much speed on the counter so much swinging the ball from one side of field to the other. And older God, you know, when he gets the ball in the middle of the opponent's final third. You feel like he can put the ball anywhere to anyone in any possible way with any part of his body. He just made a beautiful pass straight down the inside of Alexander Arnold. Not being too defender Y at that point. And there he is, Martinelli, just whap it home. Before the game, my newsletter on Friday, I wrote about this game being all about how the hunter would become the hunted and what ensued was pretty well the worst scenario of what even I in my devious evil could have had in mind. It was only God that slide pass in between my tip. Beautiful. And poor Trent and Martinelli's finish was true. Delirium pandemonium Emirates just a live and then some arsenal really had just scored a goal that was ripped straight out of the Liverpool 2019 20 playbook. Clinical counterattack breathtaking and even more so when you realize it was their first goal against Liverpool in ten hours and 5 minutes to play. And

"So I think you're right. I think that there's more variety in the game now that it was at the Copa América when the loss to Argentina. And maybe like any previous worker before. Yes, to me, that would be another reason maybe not to have the packet in there, but I'm in the minority here. Just all right, let's go with the front three now. Obviously this is the hardest Miguel. Doesn't think Neymar is going to be in the front three because he's going to have it, he hasn't been midfield, but Jules, what's your front three? I love Gabriel Jesus unlike you. I think he's having already a great season. I think it can be so much value for the squad, even if he doesn't start, but for the physicality for everything that I bring, the press and the counter press, especially. Because I think he does it better than richarlison. But I think the train has gone now. And I know disagrees. I don't think they would call him for the World Cup. And I think it would be rafinha, which Addison vini, with probably Pedro, coming off the bench, being another option on the bench and having other players on the bench like Rodrigo, for example, we can also come and play different positions and variety, but I think for both Martinelli and Gabriel, I'm afraid I don't think it's good. So your friend three is just remind me. I name our midfield. And Neymar has a free road. He's been playing. And you're also going with the Ezekiel eye lineup of one proper midfielder and then pack it and name it. Certainly for the group stage. Then I think if you play a much bigger team like a frontal like an Argentina, you might need more solidity in midfielder and in that case, like we saw Vinny now starting against Tunisia, for example, and you could easily have rafinha no starting and play four three three with Fred and Casimir and Neymar a packet Neymar higher up the pitch. Luis Miguel, what's your take on Gabrielle Jesus obviously you have a clear idea and why he's not here and you don't think the door is shut on him. Yeah, well, I mean, it's very difficult to argue when you listen to the beautiful French sounds of Jules. But I do, I think that I just take the words of what teacher said when he announced the roster of these friendlies and Gabriel Jesus was part of that and he said, look, this is just my opportunity to give other players a chance. Me thinking, you can not not take every other Jesus. You can't do it. It would be not never mind the work that he's done for arsenal already. It's already the body of work that is delivered for cheat sheet. My only thing, the only thing that I would say from what you were saying is that with all this beautiful artistry that Brazil is going to create, you need a big man up front. And I feel like Richardson will probably start and then you'll have been a junior on one side and then rafinha on the other one. So I don't even got real Jesus would start, but not taking him at all would be, wow, kind of a big move from Chi Chi, but I do think that richarlison has earned his right. He's earned it for a while, by the way, because you need that kind of final product at the end. That physical status to do something. So I think it will be Charles on one side. Vinnie junior, and the other one and then repeat. Okay, so you guys have the same front three. I'm not super sold on rafinha in the sense that I don't know if it was right now, yes, I don't know that this is his level or he can keep his level. All season long. I still think this is a player who's developing a little bit. But I do think rafinha venetia is as a pair of wingers, obviously in opposite sides. They really suit this and Richard lesson through the middle. I just think it's more a question of work race. It's a question of presence. He's got the areola ability, which Gabriel Jesus doesn't have. I'm sure Gabriel Jesus will be in the squad. I would imagine. But it seems to me that this is the setup that makes sense if the World Cup were to start tomorrow, which of course that's remind ourselves, it doesn't, we got another 6 weeks to go, 6 weeks to change. More broadly, I want to take it back to Neymar to rob things up. I've told this story before, I remember going to Confederations Cup 2013. In Brazil and I'm in my hotel room and I flick on the television and there's a commercial break where they'll show like 7 or 8 commercials in a row. And I'm not kidding 6 of them featured name ad. And that's when I come to understand to fully understand how more pressure is on Neymar than I think probably any Brazilian player in a very, very long side. Even one of the other countries because we're not in your left when he was younger, right? And then he said what he was kind of already a star when you come back. But obviously this is a guy who stuck around in Brazil, only left when he was just 21, I think. I had the Santos thing going on and all these things and he's been coping with this and he's been living with this and different people absorb pressure differently. Some people crack. Some people give them adrenaline. I'm guessing in Neymar's case, it gives them adrenaline because he didn't turn bad. But it does feel like a great way. And I want to ask you guys, I mean, you lose me together, somebody who's watched Brazil very close to you. First few jewels who obviously, you know, you see him with Paris Saint-Germain. We know it's a more productive Neymar this year, he's playing some of the best football this career so far. Is he different in other ways? Is he more cognizant of his age of the fact that the window may be closing in terms of World Cup? Yeah. I think he's hinted before that this could be the last one. And certainly Lewis said earlier, this would be the last one when is that kind of level. I think he might play again in four years in North America and Mexico, but it would not be, I mean, I would be very surprised if he was at this level again in for Istanbul.

"Last part. Yeah. That's all you need to know. People will say, why are you playing audio of a goal? We can't see. Well, because if you think of Marco van Basten but from the opposite side and with the left foot, that's what you got. How good is that goal, Andrew? He's 19 years old. I mean, ridiculous goal. Ball over the top over his shoulder, volleys it with the left, the inside of the left foot into the fire top corner from just an audacious angle. One of those goals that gives you the fields. Yes. It really did. It really did. JJ club football returns with a vengeance. This weekend. What a weekend. And it begins Saturday at 7 30 in the morning. Just a little North London Darby. Hello to set you up at the Emirates arsenal and Tottenham. And then Sunday at 9 a.m., a little Manchester Darby, with man city and Manchester United. Both of those matches, I find incredibly compelling. A lot of teams coming in, feeling very good about themselves and some of whom obviously will be walking out of this weekend, feeling not so much. Yeah, it's a great set of games. Those two in particular, how are you feeling about the Derby just a Northland and Derby? I mean, look, let's get the vibe from the Andy man. It's almost hard to remember through this international window. Last week we saw from Tottenham put in like a 14 minute hat trick, Tottenham, absolutely smashed Leicester City to bits. So it was really, I mean, we've talked a lot about Tottenham's performances this season and how uneven they've been. It was probably their best performance of the season so far. So obviously that's what you want to be going into a game like this on. Players in the high confidence. I've seen a little bit of some of Tottenham's players on the international break sun scored a couple, I think, for South Korea, including a really nice free kick. So maybe he's kept some of that going. I got to believe he'll be back in the starting 11. I would think. I mean, I know he came on as a sub for that hat trick against Leicester, but I think if clearly Conte rates him as he should, as he should, he's one of the best players in the league, so I think you go with your best 11. And so I think sun is back in it. But that's all for Tottenham. At the Emirates, that's always a tough one, obviously. That's sort of how this rivalry works. The great game for Tottenham to really show up for the first time this season, in a 90 minutes complete performance. But it won't be easy. This arsenal team is has been very good. So far this season, obviously, like we've talked about. I don't know. It's a tough one to call. I mean, look, my hunch is that this rivalry will kind of stick to form. And I think that's a tough place right now with arsenal as good as they've been so far this year. I don't know if I can predict three points for Tottenham. And the Mac Derby is going to be a battle of the shaven heads. Ten hags, shaven brand versus the shaven brain of pep Guardiola. I'm actually looking forward to that one. Because I really, there's an element to ten hags performances that's a little bit saltier ball. And Guardiola hit will hit that. So I am curious, united in transition. This could be for people who like watching matches. You know you did on the break. This might be a big game. One more thing before we go. Sure. Gunnar tweeted this out with pictures. Hey ES port, is there a particular reason why arsenal's players and manager look so inaccurate in your new game? Are you not allowed to use their likenesses or something? Genuinely curious, feel free to DM. And I thought, oh, this is just some fan having to go. I've looked at Arteta. I've looked at, I can tell it's Arteta because he's wearing civilian claws. So he looks like a manager. Otherwise, I wouldn't know. It's weird. And the other three players, I don't is one supposed to be Gabrielle Jesus is one supposed to be zinchenko. I don't know who the other one is. They are literally just their pro evolution soccer players when they didn't have the rights. They just don't look like anybody. And it's weird because this is the same game where I've seen still shots of messy. I thought he was right beside you. Yeah, and it did not look like a CGI figure. It looked like the real thing. So I don't know what happened there. I don't get it. It's a little strange. It's a little bit strange. I mean, I had to check. I mean, are they real? And then I'm looking at all these articles, mirror, Arsenal fans fume at FIFA 23, player ratings faces. And Michelangelo's appearance. They've had a dirty arsenal fans can't believe FIFA 23 screenshots daily mail. So it's not just, it's not just the twitterati. They're terrible. And whoever did them, seriously. Was this like, you know, when you were when you used to work college jobs and you didn't really care about the job. And it was like four 30 or four 45 on a Friday evening. And all you can think about is get no for our happy hour, happy hour, happy hour, happy hour. And you just the next phone call or email or piece of work you had to do was the worst thing that's ever been done by humans. The most half assed effort in the world. I mean, this must have been four 45 on a Friday evening. I'd like to think the guy responsible for putting in arsenal's faces in this game would not have that feeling about it. That feels like a pretty big job. If I ask a lot of people are going to play with that team. If I asked you to sketch, Michelangelo I could do better. Yeah, I could do better. Last one for you, JJ, and I'm trying to get the details on it as you're speaking. I wasn't ignoring you, but I was trying to multitask. So somebody tweeted at me, Matt, tweeted me the video of a free kick panenka. I think it was from Nico gaetan, a free kick pen and a free kick penalty thing. Well, here, I'll play it for you. All right, okay. I'll be the judge. So you can react to it. Because let's see. Oh no, you just clipped it. That's a clip. Okay. There's a lot of people. But it's really good. He slipped it. So like football tweeted, tweeted it said, I didn't even realize a pane of free kick was possible until I

"So probably we have 7 of the 8 forwards for Brazil already decided. Probably. And then we have matos queen from Atlético de Madrid, Roberto Firmino, from Liverpool, Martinelli, from arsenal and Pedro, who is a young forward center forward for flamingo, who plays for Flamengo in Europe. He played for fury and Dina he was. He didn't have many sexes here in Europe. But in Brazil, he's playing very well. And he's a center forward. The Brazilian head coach. He misses a center forward in this team. So today, I could tell you that Pedro is the main favorite to be the 80 forward for Brazil. But teach always says that the doors are open. Actually, the doors are open and the options for Brazil are very, very, very strong. We saw in the almost in category there, Gabrielle Jesus and Rodrigo, if you could only pick one, if you achieve, who are you going for? Well, you know what? What do you think? Well, I think last year when a simpler answer, a lot of rigo was coming off the bench a lot, Gabriel just was playing, but not in the position he has no. And maybe that was big part of the reason for mervyn was one to get out of that bubble at manset and be the main man again and two with the World Cup coming up. So but Rodrigo has been a game changer. I'm going to say Gabriel Jesus just. Just. I agree. I think I basically as an alternate striker playing through the middle. I think he's been absolutely fantastic in that role for arsenal. And provides something different from the options that he's already has in his court. Gustavo, what position would Gabriel Jesus be playing for Brazil? Because governor Jesus when he began playing, he was a center forward. But then we had the 2018 World Cup when he wasn't. He didn't play well there. He really didn't play well. After that, he decided not to play as a center forward. And he started playing the right as a right forward for Brazil and also for Manchester City. But when now when he moves to arsenal, he changed his mind and decided to play again as a center forward. So it's interesting to see how TT will use Gabriel Jesus because in the last matches, teacher was using Gabriel Jesus as a right forward, not a center forward. At the center forward options for Brazil now is Giles on the main option. Brazil also can play with Neymar as a false 9. And now we have also Pedro as I told you and a new option and also my two screen but my toes is not playing so many times here with Diego Simeone in Athletico de Madrid. So Gabriel Jesus can play as a center for and also as a right forward. STT will call 8 forwards. I think that he and Rodrigo will be in and also because they can play at two or more two or three positions the way Brazil plays Brazil's like to play in the fourth three three or the four four two. So tit has many options to build this team also always sorry always with Neymar or as a false 9 or as a player playing a little bit behind the center forward. Well, not feeling sorry for them already. I will Brazil. I'm not feeling sorry for Brazil with these options. I mean, I mean, okay, it may not be a real nut. I mean, I suppose Roberto Firmino has time to play badly or lose your form, but he's definitely lost his form over the last 12 months or so, that that is bad timing with the World Cup coming up. But there's just plenty of options, isn't there? Yeah. As the usual. As we've just seen, which begs me, Gustavo, as we have you here, our Brazil going to win the World Cup. I think that Brazil is one of the main favorites. I see Brazil Argentina, France and Germany are as the main favorite. I think that Brazil and Argentina in the last month they got too much stronger, especially Argentina, but also Brazil with this plate of plate of options. In the forwards, but also in the midfield, for example, we have drunken race playing very well. We have Casimir, who is a leader of Brazil. We have so many options in the defense, but our week side our week options are in the right back and the left back. We don't have too many options. For example, now TT is considering to take only three one right back and two left backs, not two innate position because Brazil has nowadays in the right back position. The nilo from you enters and still thinks about Danielle Alvin who isn't playing well actually he was playing badly in Mexico Emerson Royale from thought and is not an option anymore. So did you thinking about bremer ibanez from Roma to be an option to play as a center as a center back and also as a right back. So I think that Brazil is one of the main favorites. But we have some teams in this condition for me. Well, I'm glad to know you've at least got a few problems when it comes to that Brazilian national team with all those options. You've got up top. Gustavo, thank you so much for being with us. Thank you. It was a pleasure. Make

"Arsenal is back atop the Premier League table after a one day absence following a three zero win over Brentford Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta even had the luxury of sending on 15 year old Ethan one area for the final few minutes making him the youngest player ever to appear in a Premier League game And how that feeling from yesterday that in the opportunity could come that I was going to do it And I just don't Fabio Vieira marked his first league start with the goal in the 49th minute defender William saliba and Gabrielle Jesus both scored with headers in the first half I'm Dave ferry

"Next question. Hello, my name is Quentin Miller, I'm 12 years old, and I live north of Boston. I'm a huge person, and I was wondering if you think that Tottenham will finish top three. Have a good day, bye. Quentin, you king. You have made a good decision to follow spurs, whilst Antonio Conte walks amongst us. I am so bloody bullish on your Tottenham, have no doubt you'll be awake early tomorrow morning, joyfully turning on Rebecca Lowe and the gents to witness your kings, face up to Wolverhampton Wanderers, 7 30 am Eastern Time on the USA channel. And I think this is going to be a fascinating game Conte. So far has resisted the urge to start his new arrivals, but I do believe this week he'll have to Christian Romero, picked up a muscle injury during the Chelsea game, probably hyperextending his wrist while horse collaring as curls, claymore, long leg, arrive from boss alona, may start to be passes his own fitness test, but I do also expect rich Allison to be given a chance to inject his manic running into proceedings at some point and perisic to unleash those laser propelled pinpoint set pieces throughout that second half walls have been so blunt this season and they appear like second cousins at a bar mitzvah. We're just happy to have been invited, but the biggest asset spurs have, let's be on this Quentin is Antonio Conte. I mean, just listen to how we talk about football. And during the game is in a sporty way is how you live or you die. If you leave, it means that your opponent died otherwise. It means that your opponent won one a game. No wonder every spurs player interview talks about how they want to run through walls for him. I do genuinely adore Antonio Conte hair plugs and all top three is yours to lose big Q next question. Hey rod, Sam from Boston. National sport. Very optimistic. I have students doing some maturity counties as well. I actually haven't forgiven to throw me off the first pitch at a Red Sox game in a Yankees sense. But so on his way back. Just wondering how you might have to deal with first time national loses a big game that they should have won. National stand, you know, it's going to happen. Courage. And Arsenal fan for Boston, following a spurs fans question from Boston, Sam, you need to get together with the mighty Quentin for that first North London Derby that looms so large October the first. I get back to that in a minute. But don't come at me with your arsenal negative vibes. I'd be buzzing if I was a gunner right now. You swagger down to Bournemouth, Saturday 1230 p.m. Eastern Time on NBC proper. With your team attempting to win their first three games of the season. For the first time in 18 years and perhaps more importantly, to exercise the memory of last season three lost star and hill, some of that dark regret for maze to fleeting slump. And I do pity Bournemouth spotlight. You have ha land last week, Gabrielle Jesus enrapture form this one. God bless. Arsenal. What have you got to worry about? You've got Fulham villa. You united Brentford Everton before you play spurs. You know, you should be maybe could bloody probably be undefeated until you face bud. So you get no sympathy for mister Everton over here. You've got great competition and depth across your squad, things are almost zen across arsenal Twitter, which is almost unfathomable. What we don't know yes is how you will respond to losing a game. But it does seem like you've got leaders and real voices, real character across the squad now. But you also haunted that last season in each loss led to two war and when you watch all or nothing and you relive how hard it was to pull out of those nosedives, I do feel for you. As you'll remember Sam, that is the quality resilience where you fell short last season, but drink it in for now. Just savor it. Don't turn to the dark side you grew it got a contender even for

Gabriel Jesus 10/10 leads Arsenal to win over Leicester

"Gabrielle Jesus made the most of his first arsenal home game providing two goals and two assists in a four two win against Lester After scoring twice in the first 35 minutes the former Manchester City player had several chances to finish the game with a hat trick Mikel Arteta was pleased with Jesus And this is still disappointing in that resume because he said he could have a score for that as a standard as a mentality you want to go to a different level you need a mentality The Gunners like two zero and three one but they didn't put the game away until Gabrielle Martinelli scored for the second straight game

"Over on the website. Not long now then to the Bundesliga kicks off once again here on ESPN. It all starts. August 5th, Bayern Munich away against eintracht Frankfurt. Also, of course, being busy this summer Gabrielle Jesus making that big money move from Manchester City. Well, James Ollie sat down with granite shaker to talk about the Brazilian joining the club. I mean everyone knows he's first of all an amazing player, because if you don't have this quality, you don't play in this amazing club in a man city, for example, as well here with us. I heard a lot about him, the people around spoke very positive about him. I had the lunch with him as well. Very humble. Qualities and things very, very far. And he will bring something more than qualities for us. He will bring this winner mentality, day by day, weekend by weekend, and yeah, I'm very, very happy to have him and the others in our team. I mean, Jesus obviously has taken a lot of attention. It seems from the outside that he's a perfect fit. He presses well. He's a good age. He's got a good goal record. Is that how it feels early days in the camp with him? Absolutely. I mean, with him and with Eddie, we have a lot of quality now in the front as well. To have the hunger to scoring as well. To walk for the team. And Gabriel, for example, he brings the experience as well. The experience in top, top, top level. And this is what we need as well. We're going to check a speed and James Ollie who joins us now from Baltimore. What's the feeling in the arsenal camp? I imagine it's quite a buzz, isn't it at the moment, considering Jesus coming in? Yeah, it's very positive. They've spent quite a lot of money earlier in the window. The players have come back in stages. There were some of them were given an extended holiday, but they're all back together now. And so they're starting to mingle to get to know each other for the first time. And I think granite was talking there about how Zeus and the impact that he feels he can make sort of immediately knows the Premier League. He kind of does feel like the perfect fit for them in the sense of they need a proven goal scorer. They need someone who sets the press from the front absolutely fits into the way that Mikel Arteta plays and there's a lot of excitement about seeing how he's going to get on. What's a missing link though? There are no need to sort out, do you think James? Well, I mean, they've got one or two other issues. The fact that they were interested in signing rafinha tells you that they are looking for another wide player. I think they still, although they've added Vieira, they've got odegaard, they've got Smith Rowe and saka, they still probably want one more for a bit more creativity. You'd worry about them a little bit in central midfield. You feel like they probably need another one in there. And defensively, they've never been the most solid team, although that has improved under mccarter. So I think potentially in other center back or maybe a left sided center back, they were looking at lassandro Martinez from Ajax. There's now talk today that they're moving on to zinchenko. The Manchester City defender who can also play in midfield so he could kind of fill both of those slots. So I think there's still some business for us to do for them to be fully satisfied in this window. Say Steve nickel, you were an Arsenal fan. How would you be feeling at the moment? Well, I think you should be pleased that they've got Gabriel who's this. I think there'll be a little disappointed though. They have quite filled out the squad. Because I think with their start in the 11, they can give anybody again. The question

"Really been a belly flop is second coming at Stamford Bridge. A glove that does not fit hailed by the English tabloids as one of the worst Premier League transfers of all time, where does Romelu Lukaku two rank in terms of Torres, Shevchenko, iguazu, Chelsea, hall of shame number 9 horrors, David. Baby performs under that loan, probably haven't lost insane amounts of money because he'll still have some transfer value. If he doesn't perform under that loan, it's going to be the most expensive flop in Chelsea history without a doubt because of the mount they paid for him. I mean, it's not like he's a player that I. It's tough. I'm an I don't know. And this sort of feels like everywhere he went and played is that other than perhaps Italy is that I don't feel an enormous amount of passion for him. I don't think Chelsea fans ever warm to him and were desperate for him to succeed on a human level, perhaps on a financial level, or perhaps on a sort of a level of need that you want to strike to perform. But there isn't anything to some extent as I think many man united fans would say and perhaps some Everton fans as well that he sort of leaves you a little cold on the way out. I have to love them. We were as one troop Premier League home and I'll just say to anyone who's Ginger and plays on the wing and anybody else who maybe their name rhymes with Mitchell listen, just look at the Lukaku story as a cautionary tale of what happens when you leave Goodison Park, but more on that later, a lot of change in turmoil at Chelsea, Zia rumored to be heading to Milan lots of smoke, but no fire surrounded politic and Timo Verna two raz push to become the first of 6 rumored signings we talked about Sterling at Chelsea. Last week, no longer the first choice almost trusted for pep, as reports of Thomas Tuchel being handed 250 million to spend on up to 6 players, including a pair of new center backs, among the main targets on Matias de lift, Jules Hyundai Sterling, Jonathan Claus was Mandela and king rich oldest and also floated they vote times they are a changing at Stamford Bridge. I've also spoken to a number of people who know Todd Burley and the one thing they do say about him and by the way, when I think this is common of a lot of the Americans who come in and own teams, as they look for deals, they're looking for here are the things that other people have missed. And I'm going to go and make this deal and I'm going to go and hide it under. This may not be the time for that. If you just read any Chelsea fan site right now, it's announced Sterling announced delete announced anyone to sort of get the ball rolling and feel as though this administration is really starting. I don't think it's a value market. I've got a huge amount of respect for top Burley and I spoke to a couple of people on Friday told me that man has teeth. So I know he's probably listening to this podcast and looking for transfer tips. I'll just say Michael Keane. Michael Keane, now that one down and if you want to value because I don't want to leave you hanging about 50 to 60 million call me Todd. Talking about big, big power moves, arsenal football club. I want to put a striker. I would say an elite esque striker day though, Gabrielle Jesus, who joins for Manchester City, where pep never truly trusted him as first choice. It is arsenal's fourth signing of the summer following the ovals of marquinhos Matt Turner and Fabio Vieira 8 goals in 28 appearances last season. Gabrielle Jesus Dave had the arrival of halan, squeeze him out at city. What do you make of it? Exactly. He wasn't going to play at man city. I think it's a pretty smart piece of business. I think he's going to be lively and experienced up there very good record for Brazil's national team. I like it. I really like the move. I like everything that arsenal have done in the off season. I like, I know there's been a lot of criticism for the amount they paid to re sign Eddie and katia, but I think that smart as well. So yeah, I think they're moving very much in the right direction. J two city was not always viewed as clinical enough when match against his XG, but he knows Arteta so well for miss time as assistant coach at Manchester City Arteta knows him and I think if Arteta can work out to deploy this tactically flexible Brazilian international who can play up top or on the Flank, I think it's going to be a remarkable pickup and talking about remarkable arsenal pickups God I was so moved this morning watching Matt turnout or how arsenal are already calling it Matty Turner just announced this morning why human being David one to me of the most inspirational male footballers that have ever emerged from the American game. Fantastic keeper there are going to be enough games. Everybody's very worried that he's not going to play enough. But I think there are going to be enough games and enough competitions with a little bit of resting players to get him some reps, roger. So I'm very excited to see him play for arsenal football club. And I had the chance to spend a chunk of the afternoon with him last Friday and his take on the not playing was, you know, I was playing the whole time with the revs and that was not enough to seal the first choice for the United States national team, so I needed to make some kind of change. He knows it to gamble, but the emotions he must be feeling this morning and huge love to ask the really, I think captured it with the video they drop. This is a gentleman that baseball was his true love, did not stop playing seriously until the age of 16 in in high school. Never played goalkeeper before, has been doubted at every single level. Barely got into college, his dad had to really fight to have a scout come out to watch him in a tournament and Fairfield took him in one of his first games for Fairfield. He dropped a howler, a clanger, which made him a sports center feature a not top ten feature. It felt like three season his career was over, but man, this kid is so bloody tenacious forced his way back became all confidence, but again, not drafted by MLS, had to fight his way onto the revolution, and he's now about to play. For arsenal, the team is supported as a teen and even as a rev, by the way, he'd go to support us bars to watch arsenal football club, tweeted about how much he hates the spurs. And that story, that narrative, that sense of last star fighter possibility. I'm so bloody thrill for him. He's an incredible human being. We've got a magnificent interview with him, which is about to drop shortly. Really is. And I'll say this for now. Bergen county booth on is a Beacon of light for late bloomers everywhere and I tweeted that this morning had some people saying 16 really has had a late bloomer. I was late at that. There are professionals who take the field, make their debut in the Premier League at 16 politics was already over in Germany age 60. Mat Turner had barely kicked a football before the age of 16. Godspeed to you, you make us all hope that everything is possible and I did love, as I said, ossos. Announcement post this morning. Welcome home. Matty Turner. "With your Manchester ways, rob, Gabrielle Jesus, arsenal, how close are you seeing to get this done? Yeah, I mean, that's pretty much done. City of accepted an offer of about 45 million pounds from arsenal. Personal service won't be a problem. I think it's probably already done anyway. It's something that will probably be announced very early next week. It's a good sign in my opinion, arsenal, a desperate for a striker. He scored goals at city. He's not been the main man ever at cities since he joined. He's had to compete with Sergio Agüero and a lot of other forward players. You know, you would assume that arsenal spending that money that he would go there and be the main man and it's a real test, whether he can do it, consistently in the Premier League and be that 20 plus goal, a season striker that arsenal and desperate for. Can he be that, Don? Yeah, you can. I like him me, Dan, I think. I think he's a terrific player with a brilliant attitude and can play anywhere else. We've seen that when he's been at man city under Guardiola, I think what he wants now is he wants game time. I think he wants to be the main man. I think he wants to put an arsenal shirt on every single week. Knowing that he's going to lead the line, get him in the 8 in yard box. I thought last season he looked incredibly sharp. I thought one of his best seasons last season even though I didn't get the game time when I seen him. I thought he looked really sharp. He looked at it, he was playing through the Middle East, attitude was good. He's quite sharp as well. He can take players on. And as I said, sometimes when you make a move down and you go to a new club and you think you're the man, like, hey Zeus is going to think we've all like talent playing in behind him and all the chances you'd like to think those young guys are going to create for him. If you can stick the stick to the width of the 8 in yard box and get himself central, I can imagine you'll get 20 goals next season. But what's striking there and Don kind of said that he didn't play maybe as much as he liked. He still played almost 50% of the available minutes and managed to city. He was still a key part of that jigsaw that saw them get all that success last season. Yeah, there's a lot of people out there. Oh, you know, I can set irregular. It's not easy. Again, it's setting at the moment. It's not easy. I mean, I know they didn't win the Champions League, but once again, I've won the Premier League. The other effectively, when you watch them and you look at the squad and the manager, the artifact, and people will argue with it. The best team in Europe, right? And a little bit of people who have a different opinion to that, but that's what I think. So if you can't get in regular and that team, it's doesn't mean you're a bad player. It just means it's Guardiola has decided to go a different way or use different players. But you're right. It did play when you play these code goals. It played in the way that possessions at times did a great job. I think what arsenal are getting is somebody who you wouldn't call a prolific goal scorer but will lead the line will run the channels will hold the ball up and it's done mention is attitude as false class. Whenever you watch Jesus play, it never leaves the field haven't given less than he's on. Never. Now, you might watch him symptoms and get frustrated because sometimes he tries to overdo things and over complicate it. But it never leaves you feel we're having fought and wrestled and given a 100%. So arsenal are getting some when they put that red shut on. It's committed. And if he can find his gold scoring touch again and get back into that mindset, I've been the main guy and through the medal in that center forward again, I don't really see a downside to it. I mean, you're standing in a player from arguably the best team in Europe, right? That's what you're saying in the play out. It's not a bad place to go fishing. Meanwhile, there's another Manchester City player you're heading to London as well. Reports, Chelsea very much interested in Raheem Sterling, rob. What's the latest here? Yeah, I mean, that's a very similar situation to the one we just had with Gabrielle in that he's got a year left.

"A €100 million for the midfielder. Gam, how good is he in your opinion? Well, you certainly made a tremendous impact last year and Monaco, people like the fact that, you know, he is a physical high energy midfielder with quality, but also somebody who's exceptionally mature for his age. I spoke to one scout about him and he said, you know, he could do a lot of the things that Don Bella used to do before he moved to spurs, but he has a much, much better head on his shoulders. And I think that's a big part of the appeal you hear him talk. He seems very, very mature. That fee is exceptionally high for somebody as age, my understanding is that a chunk of that is down to bonuses, some of them easy to reach bonuses. Some of them a little bit less so. And obviously, there was interest from Paris Saint-Germain and reportedly even Liverpool fortunately, but Real Madrid moving in pretty decisively, not surprising because obviously, as we all know, they're sitting on that and BAPE pot of gold, which they didn't get to spend. No, well, certainly spending a big chunk of it here, Craig, to kind of bolster midfield that we've discussed a lot, needs bolstering and needs this kind of regeneration at some stage. It has to happen. Yeah, and it's going to be it's going to evolve, but it's going to evolve still a little slowly because moderates are still playing great Casimir or still able to do a job. And Tony Cruz can pass the ball, but you've got to come with anger, who come on and purchase it towards the end of the season, look really good. Now I've got too many from Monica and talking to Jill's about them as well a couple of weeks ago, he's got a bit more to his game than came of angle. I'm going to be more of a setting medfield. Germany can do a little bit of everything. Very, very tidy on the ball, very comfortable on the ball. So I'm playing for France away in Croatia, just a day or so ago. And look good. And so it's about getting young players in. It's a big good physical players. And yeah, as garb said, the money is quite high. But if you don't go and pay the money and go to deal, you're going to go somewhere else in Real Madrid know that their squad has been a great squad for them, but it's going to need to be piped up and they've already started to do it. And this situation seems to be almost ideal in a sense you're not being dropped in straight to the starting 11 and expect to perform straight away. In that he can, as Angela, he did with can of Inge almost. Just slowly, but surely. I think that's the perfect situation for sure many coming in here. Did you mention camavinga? And especially given the club. Real Madrid and we spoke about this during the course of this season in particular, where it's all about the culture of the club, understanding what the club stands for and the players buying into that. No, at the same time, a 100 million is the kind of money you spend on a player to come in immediately and make an impact. But Real Madrid have the money, they don't have the need for that immediate impact. I think this is money well spent and it proved to be in the in the long term. Meanwhile, let's talk about someone else who looks like they could be on the move, and that is Gabrielle Jesus. Leaving Manchester City, you take a look at his stats, 13 goals per last season in 41 matches. Gab when I see a player that's been linked to a number of different clubs I have your voice almost.

"All right, enough Liverpool. How about some quick hits? Let's go, God. Verona does not prove to be fatal for Milan. Unlike in years past Jules, they come from behind to win three one, that Raphael bit special, very special, but we did think at some point that Verona could prove could prove to be fatal because they were leading up to just before the end of the first half. And then sandro tonali obviously came and rescued with Rafael was amazing again. You know, sometimes I still wonder if I saw, okay, every time I think he should be, it should be a center forward. He's got everything to be one of the best strikers in the world because he can hold the ball. He's strong. He's so quick. He's so intelligent. So this is a Lana. And then he plays wide and I go like, okay, yeah, he's quite a good white. And then he creates those, he makes those goals. He makes things happen and I'm like, maybe I'm wrong then. Maybe you should stay wide and maybe not or maybe kind of a hybrid roadway can be as a center forward. It can be wide. You can be this. You can be that because I just think he's so good. There's nothing you can not do. Yeah, I think he's come on and leaves him around. The raw building was there. People were excited about it for a long time. When are you a shout out as well? Defense is because we don't play well. But fikayo tomori empirical Lulu. If you remember, after Simon Carr's injury, people were like, in the lesser Romani was in that situation with his contract, people were like, we don't have to get a defender in January. Right now, they got their defender at house, and it's Pierre colour. As well, because again, like high XG goes, he's like on the go. A bit like the one he's called. Oh, and by the way, former PSG star scores a stunner and you don't mention it. Alessandro florenzi. Yeah, of course. Yeah, yeah, that's true. That's true. I forgot. I stayed in history. Speaking of Milan garb, it looked as if they were going to be sold to the barring fund in the scope for €1.2 billion, but now that isn't done, and we have red blood capital arriving. Yeah, so basically corny to report in this corp had this period of exclusivity. And then we're told that their offer of 1.2 billion, it was 800 million in cash and 400 million in loans. That they were then going to go to the demo. We're going to go on the club. Elliott saying, yeah, maybe we can do better. Red bird capital supposedly cash only bid. We'll see how this goes for those who don't know red bird capital also involved with Toulouse and more importantly, also involved with Fenway sports group. Exactly. Matrices beat up Newcastle 5 nil to go three points clear at the top, Jules. That's one way to get over the disappointment of the veteran about. It is where we all want to bring if psychologically the defeat would hurt how they would react and they were outstanding. I mean, I think in a way, was a good thing to plan Newcastle because they're not a super defensive. That's not what idea how he's doing. You know, I think they would, they would always try to craft their right back instead of Trippier, but yeah. Yeah, but trip you came on. But you know, it's not like he did played someone who really, really would have parked the best massive and I don't think that was the new customers interest. They've got nothing to play for as well. But still city were good. The combination, the patterns of play all of that is called some really good goals. Which is great. And the good difference, let's not forget that the good difference is very important. No longer ago it was in favor of Liverpool massively, and now a shifted completely. City really good. I'm also kind of reaffirming the thing that Gabrielle Jesus is not a long-term answer at center forward. I know, I just don't see he's played him at center forward a bunch. These last few games. We do completely. That'd be tough again where I was and where I was standing next to for city anyway. And sticking with them, gab, what did you make of pape statesmans before, and after the game, the lack of all the countries all the whole country wanted to Liverpool to win blood? Again, going back to what we said about claw. So before the game, he says, because remember, this was kind of overlooked. He came out and he said, oh, if we win, people are just going to say you just won because of because of money, I don't care about that. I want people to think about what we built. So really, it shows a bit of an edge. And secondly, the fact that the country wants Liverpool to win. I think the reason the country, first of all, I am not sure the country won't live in the witness necessarily because Liverpool have a lot. Like a lot of big clubs, there's a lot of people don't dislike Liverpool. Yeah. But yeah, you want somebody different to win, you want to competition until the very end. There is, I think, with Citi, there is to some degree in Chelsea went through it as well. Blackburn went through it. When you have a team that's perceived as nouveau riche, especially a team that's owned by a controversial regime or an investment fund with strong ties to controversial regime. But people kind of got past that. People love the football that city play. I'm sure. I don't hope so. See any kind of necessary thing. If you want to talk about, you know, the old complaint that Marina said there's so many extra ripple players in the media..

"So it missed three of the last four, right? And I'm thinking, okay, if you Addison, and you know all of that, of course, because that's your pretty much, of course, like every goalkeeper. You're thinking there's no way you're going to put it again on that right hand side. Now after missing the last two, right? So you probably think, okay, he's going to maybe put it on the left. So this is where I'm ready for it, and that's actually the way he dies. But I don't think in any moment in his mind, in the whole world, he thinks he's going to have the cojones to do a pandemic now. When Karim Benzema has never ever, ever even tried a panenka in a game in a penalty before. And you're four two down aware city in the Champions League semifinal first leg. And yet you're playing at the best level of your life and you're working on water, but if you had to send surely never in a million years you think it might just chip me now. That's the psych out all the situation. That's one big brain. Against another brain. I'm saying, how do I get the edge, right? And you say, oh, sure, he's not going to put it to my right, then use double reverse psychology, and I'll put it to my right. I mean, I'm even wondering to have the confidence to take it in the situation as well. I then know that people are trained not to, you know, there's other people who take penalties on that team. Luka Modrić is converted. And I kind of do your two in his time. I thought that was remarkable. And it's one of those things like, I think, way back to the semifinal of the Euro 2000. Year 2000. Italy against Holland was a penalty sequence, and sort of thought this up and he walks past mandini and he says, oh, watch this. I'm going to do the cookie spoon. All right. And martini's like, ha ha. And then he's like, I'm laughing, and then I think to myself, oh my God. Did this crazy maniac is actually really going to do this? And I'm sure Ben Zimmer didn't tell anybody what he's going to do, but it is done. Is he done in the O 6 final as well against Buffon? Because he knew that Buffon knew him so well that the one thing that Buffon would not expect. A bit like a descent. And he nearly missed it too, by the way. You said that Karim was a better panenka to be fair because he was never in that they would go in. What was he done hit the bottom of the crossbar? Benzema's got 14 goals in the Champions League so far this season. I'm a great score at 60. Three behind the record of Ronaldo, which is 17 christiano. His XG. Depending on where you look because some websites and some data is slightly different. But it's around 6 or 7 somehow before. So 14 and four in four XG is another planet. But even if it's, I think, a brave or optimized 6.7 or 7 point something. 6 XG for 14 goals in the Champions League and a lot of those goals in the knockout stage. It's just this speaks to what we were talking about before with raman Madrid. This idea of manifest destiny. This idea that things are going to work out with us. So the idea that somebody is going to come up with some kind of hugely improbable goal or some hugely improbable turn of events or some ridiculous Courtois save that these things are going to come together and things are going to fall into place for us. And I think that's going to be the challenge for pep in the Second Life. Now, we've talked about the way that so much happened in this game that we haven't necessarily some of the lineup decisions that went into it because I think they did affect very clearly what happened. In the case of pat, just going into this. And look, when people talk about, you know, nobody's going to feel sorry for Manchester City because all the money they have and whatever. But to be fair to them, which said this before, this is not the biggest squad in the world in terms of senior players. And when you get a rash of injuries at the back, you're going to tell spa. Nathan ake out. Joel concealer suspended. Kyle walker out. John stones not fit. He started the game and he came off after what, half an hour? Which is even a risk. I think putting him out there because muscular situations, you can aggravate them. With 5 substitutions, maybe take a little more few more chances. At that point, he says, I don't have anymore right, but I don't have any more players. I mean, seriously, if one of the two is Ruben Diaz or Laporte gets sent off, what happens then? The kids from the bench. CJ Egan Riley? Yeah, that's all you have now. There was a lot of them on the bench. I thought that side of things is extraordinary. We were sure. When we reflect on massive squads and so on, let's also remember that you get to these situations the biggest game of the season arguably. To that stage. And you have to adjust and you have to make these decisions. I thought that was the walk injury was for that game. And for its importance defensively for city, it was the worst. Okay. The possibility of Gabrielle Jesus at right back and then turned out it was a joke, because I'm not going to play my right back. Which hindsight, I wonder, would it have been such a crazy idea? Obviously. With a bug three maybe. But I think the interesting thing is the way they play though is the right backs come inside and turn into additional central midfielders. You see a lot more of that than you do of overlapping full backs turning into wingers. So even the decision to start Gabriel Jesus, I think, you know, when people talk about you had to. Okay. You say you had to. But Gabriel Jesus is not a regular starter on this team. You had other players..

"They vote, I can imagine him being really into his competitive speed ironing, something like that. Because like Craig. His name was his name with so many cheese. He wears sneakers like a horse. Yes. Manchester City nil Crystal Palace to a glitch in the city mainframe roger and it's that perpetual bogey team Crystal Palace who do them again at night. Just the 6th minute when emirate Laporte turn the ball over to wealth who eventually rolled one past Edison not very convincingly to make it one nil, the port stay went from basque to worst in first half injury time when he was sent off a bumbling over Wilfred, who was judged to be through on goal. That The O.C. extra Conor Gallagher added a second two minutes from time and city, slip 5 points behind Chelsea. What a week, the loosening of a four year stranglehold on the cannabis input pep son filled food with the missed penalty to boot and is shockingly soil in the bed at home to Patrick Vieira's super eagle so early on city coughed it up in transition. Again, that defenders bodies flew in to the countering palace, but to no avail, the ball came to Zaha, who miss hit his shot bless him, but the scuff that ensued was what allowed it to bubble and squib past a stunned dead, the silhouette of face, you don't know who I am. Crazy David. I mean, you love the palace, but did you see this coming? Palace have managed to do this a few times over the last few seasons. They found big wins away from home in the northwest. I think they'd be the city over the Christmas period, the holiday period two or three years ago the stunning andros Townsend with king at least one maybe two stunning strikes to down city. And palace have been good this season. They don't have all the points to show for it. They've lost a lot of games in the final minutes of injury time even. And, you know, suddenly they go into city and make them look ordinary. Really ordinary, fantastic result for Patrick Vieira and my side chick. Yeah, oh, an odd sluggish performance here. When you have Kevin De Bruyne Phil Foden Jack Bernardo Silva, city came at palace, which was expected. But what I admired was how Vieira had palace so well drilled to press and smother and wolf Zaha is one of the greatest outburst recipients outside of the top four. And so it would get worse for city in judge over time right before the half sahas spun away from last man Laporte who who it should be said could not cope with will fit all all day. So accidentally on purpose just fell on him, such a big brother move. Dogs out dogs own dogs, red card. I've seen that be a yellow 9 times out of ten, but at the same time, the Laporte can't be salty, can he David? Yeah, I would say more like sort of 7 times out of ten, but it was I think partly it was the accumulation of Laporte not being able to handle Wilfred Zaha that led to the straight red. And the refusal of pep two do want so many teams do against Wilfred, which is go to extreme tactical measures to deny him the ball. You know, that's not pep ball, he's not going to go and double team triple team to take away his shape in order to prevent a single player on an opponent. City had a Gabrielle Jesus equalizer rightly ruled off for offside, causing a slightly maniacal pep to clap his hands wildly over his head like a tequila the club made nightclub in lanzarote. But that was about as good as it got a sub par form for city best captured by the performance of KDB who really was there with his three initials in name but not in nature. It looks like he's, please God, it says he's still coming back from injury, but he was given the hook on the hour, pep, even less pleased when Chelsea agent Gallagher killed off the game in the embers charging late to smash home, and he was so exhausted from his endeavors he compelled celebrate. Really, an inauspicious way to mark pep's 200th league game in charge of city. How do you understand it, David? Do we show concern? Or was it just a blip? And we know city have these blips and then they go and smash everybody. Yeah, I mean, that's how I would read it. They've had those blips. You know, I still think he's he's searching to find his best lineup this season searching to find his best team. And some of his stalwarts obviously Sterling as suffered a dip in form, KDB has not been as genius as we've seen him in previous seasons. Certainly struggling a little bit to sort of find the lineup that's going to deliver and run away with the league. You know, as they did, last season. I said last month, let's revisit the right to review cities false 9 strategy on a week by week basis. What's hard, they were unbeaten since the first day debacle against spurs. They were just off kilt up, sluggish, passing off. Movement not there. Jack Grealish is creating chances, but it feels like the other chance created, that was never cities problem because that sort of so odd. It's almost makes him an expensive folly city of always created the chances. And the other players have kind of dropped off. It feels slightly off kilter, but we have to remember, this is really my top always have a result like this in them. The draw against West Brom last season comes to mind. I would not read too much into this. It was just a team of killer robots, having a slight blip in the programming, but huge respect to our mate Patrick Vieira, who was a player had a late career won the spell at city, a place he said he learned so much about the game. I'd chalk this one up as a great first audition to be Pepsi, but man four of 6 points he's taken from former clubs arsenal and man city on the road. Performances and make such great memories for Crystal Palace fans incredible, joyous, passionate bunch of fans they deserve it and more Liverpool to Brighton to a fourth minute hendo piledriver and a sadia mane had a which some tantric build up play that would have made sting proud roger. Had Jürgen Klopp's mob cruising, but after having a third vod off for a Sadio Mané handball, Liverpool got a face full of seagull. It started in the 41st minute when Zambian Enoch and weepu put and dipping curving swerving long-range power chip past alesson and in the 65th minute, natural blond Leandro trossard went hibachi on robbo cutting inside before tying the game and ultimately splitting the spoils Liverpool. They slipped three points behind Chelsea. Life comes out your fast Liverpool after four successive victories or comps. And that delirious 5 nil slapped down against Manchester United Klopp, left many pundits rating their eyebrows midweek as he started the talk about, you know, the team needs to improve their defense. We need to be able to win games one nil. We're going to stop it. This is a subtext. It's got to stop it with these 5 nil demolitions. We've got to win a grind. And it almost always seemed crazy God he all in and it's thinking the search for perfection, but it ended up being quite prophetic. Little did we know at the outset, though, hendo quickly drilled the ball home, Manet, then got his never balding head on a cross. This team Liverpool in moments can just conjure point perfect poetry and I am Jell-O and you can see on the sideline there's always a point in the game where Jürgen Klopp pounds his hands together in celebration and you can just see the week of intense game planning and agony and angst just pour out of his body and be replaced by a kind of relief and I swear. I saw it in that moment. He knew his team had just scored twice inside the first 25 minutes, still had most sellers contractually guaranteed goals surely still to come. It all felt job done David. It didn't feel like stick a fork in that seagull sausage time. Yeah, but as we've seen before with Brighton this season, they don't give up. They just don't give up. You know, when they were hammered by city, they just kept on coming back at them and running at them. They're the new leads rodge, but way more effective. Graham Potter auditioning, he must be for a high profile job and brighten just kept on coming. Brighton kept on coming. Pep said, last week, even when city were three Miller, they would not tap out bright and they had no fear. They respect just ultimate belief in the Potter passing plan triple P and he then filled a back four for the first time this season to try and smother space for Liverpool's wing backs, and Brian's false night meant they always had an extra midfield body. And one snappy cater. Limped off with injury. The red seemed irritated, confused. Didn't know who to pick up, and that boldness. It paid off first a chasse of light from a wepa cross shot across as it's known in most elite Zambian circles, the left Alison flailing.
