"Ten 22 a gateshead man is under arrest accused of trying to kidnap a middle schooler this morning. Montgomery county police say a group of students was standing at the bus stop around 7 20 a.m. at the intersection of town crest drive and town crest court in Gaithersburg. That's when police say 30 year old Jamal Germany grabbed one of the kids and pulled them toward an apartment building. Other students tried to stop Germany, the child was able to break free and get on the bus on harmed physically. Germany is charged with attempted kidnapping. Montgomery county public schools is telling families of students at redland middle rest in elementary and magruder high schools tonight that there will be heightened security at the impacted bus stop tomorrow. Stop is used by students at all of those schools. The fentanyl overdose death of a baby in fairfax county has now led to the child's parents being indicted on serious charges. Charged with involuntary manslaughter and child cruelty resulting in serious injury are 19 year old Juan Olivia Ruiz and 23 year old chance artillery. Their 11th month old baby allegedly found the fentanyl pill on the floor of their home in the Alexandria section of the county and ate the pill, then died. This happened in June of 2022, the couple faces a third charge of child abuse and neglect connected to another child in their home that has been removed. Commonwealth's attorney Steve disco says, we know that fentanyl overdoses are on the minds of our community members and our office is working closely with law enforcement to prevent future tragedies like this one.
