But what I do know is that I don't believe Stan Bowman wants to fire Jeremy collagen because if he does in his eyes, he's just looking for the next Jeremy collagen. This is a team that doesn't feel like they need to bring in someone like a John tortorella or Mike Babcock right now. I think Stan Bowman also knows he doesn't get another head coaching hire because he already made one too, right? He fired joke when well, this is his guy. So if there is going to be any changes, I do think it would be at that GM level or management level, and we'll see what ownership decides. I mean, yeah. There's a lot to consider that the team on the ice looks very disorganized and unprepared. I'm not sure whether that's the players just not being good or whether that's a coaching thing. But it looks like, honestly, a group of players, they just got together for the first time for like a beer league drop in and they're kind of just skating around after work and they're not actually a team that's been practicing and playing together. And I'm much more worried about Seth Jones and you are Emily. I think the analytics are bad. I think that I always hated Seth Jones. I haven't. I thought I thought whatever two or three years ago, he should have been worse finalist. I thought he was fantastic. I think he just doesn't he can't really skate backwards anymore, and he's getting destroyed by speed. Certainly I just think at the end of the day when you're when you look at value and just sort of look like a return on investment, it's that's That's part of the reason why the contract at this point hurts right is because Skinner's clearly not scoring at the same clip that he was, you know, in his contract year scores 40 goals, and I didn't think he would do that. I mean, he never did that in his career, but Skinner Even as he's as he's getting older, Nate, I mean, he should still at least be a guy you can count on for 20 goals. That's I mean, that's and that's what he has been in his career. 2025 goals, I think is not a lot to ask. And and all of a sudden he's got 21 goals will last two seasons. Granted, not full seasons, but 21 goals over. I don't know. 100 something games. Yeah, it was. Listen. I mean, he had a disappointing season last year. It disappointing, you know, short bubble season as well. I mean, he just Well before the bubble I should say, um, yeah, I don't know. What's Granada going to do with him? Like stop making him a defensive player? He's not. He's not Listen. I mean, at the at the rate you're paying him. If your plan is to put them on a third or fourth line, checking role, then, like, just beg somebody to take him then and then, like trade, a second round, pick or trade, something to Seattle. And just get them off the books. If that's your plan with Skinner find a way to just get out from underneath it. That's what I was wondering if it's now that Skinner is going to be unprotected. "And quite frankly, you're signaling rebuild number, whatever. Um, you're at organizationally. I do think a couple of things may have worked in Buffalo's favor a little bit. Um We're seeing a lot broader news cycle of NHL teams right now you can. You can get a sense that and maybe I'm alone in this. Maybe not. But It sure seems like the flat cap and the pandemic and all of the salary cap imaginations that everyone was freaking out about Last year, um, didn't really have much of an effect and now going into the 2021 22 season and into the expansion into the draft before that. Um, as is hearing about how far apart Gabriel Landeskog in Colorado are As is any number of other examples around the league. You know, Duncan Keith gets traded in Chicago with the trade. I mean, there's a lot of stuff going on right now, that is opening doors. I think the Capri soft news is very interesting in Minnesota doesn't sound like they are particularly close. And that is a very viable trade partner of your buffalo looking to shop and player of the caliber of Jack Eichel. Because not only do you have a team It might be able to bring him in. Um, we've seen when wind trades out of them, You know, maybe a slightly smaller scale, but No, like the max Pacioretty Nick Suzuki deal, and I think that was a three or four peace deal with mantra in Vegas pulled that off like You know, maybe maybe Vegas wants a bit of a do over. But not really. I think expect already been great there. Nick Suzuki's, But if I emerge and be one of the names of this postseason in Montreal, and you know what the Canadians only had to wait a year, and after that, for a player to really pick manifested into a top six player On the floor. So you know that that is going that is going to be out there. But I do think that the salary cap gymnastics which may have been overstated as here. I think they're a bit understated. This year. There are a lot of teams would either disenchanted players or a bunch of players that need to get paid relatively soon and look outside of Tampa Bay. People warned me all along like because I'm like 65. And I guess when I was running, I was about to 50. That is not like you know, I I see people that are, you know, six ft. And they weigh 120 running past me in the park. And I get mad and envious at family because I I would love to have that body and be able to run like that. For me. It was just like crushing cartilage. Every step, and eventually my body broke and said, Dude, you're not supposed to be running 26 Miles. Cut it out, So I'm not your guy. They weren't Overly phased. By Montreal's physicality. And then they gave it back to Montreal better than they were getting it. And even on the defensive end. It was, um Quite apropo. That the only goal that Andrei Vasilevskiy let in was on not a deflection, a double deflection. It was deflected. The shot was deflected. It was to nothing at the time. The shot was deflected like almost immediately. When it came in from just inside the blue line. Deflected and then kicks off to the left, and then it hits. Another player. I think it was a lightning player in the skate and then kicked back to the right and into the back of the net. I would say that's a pretty difficult shot to stop. If you're Andrei Vasilevskiy, as good as he is a double deflection is quite difficult to stop. That was the only goal that Montreal got all night. They tried to be direct. "Then this Don Cherry is like this old-school Canadian hockey commentator on CBC or was, he's recently misplaced from that role. He called them a bunch of jerks. He hated this like outward, fun. Quite some time, they won the Stanley Cup and I believed For they they actually want it all and since then it's been kind of tough sledding for them. So I'm glad to see that. They're back in a good spot. They're making the postseason. I don't think they'll they'll they'll be postseason Mainstays for a while. I don't think they're necessarily going to win it all any time soon, but I think they're going to be around there, going to be a tough out there. Good team, there are fun team. I like them. So that's the list. I came up with notable players that would be exposed. Larry Natural Skin, Joonas Donskoi, Nazem Kadri, Eric Johnson, Tyson, Joseph and Ryan Graves. Those are the ones that are under contract that would be exposed. To the Seattle crackin. If I am understanding the rules of the expansion Jeff correctly and I believe I am But those players will be the ones that are exposed. Don't know that there's anyone on that list and you may like one guy or another. Joonas Donskoi has been a great pick up. We talked about how important Nazem Kadri was in in more accurately how much they missed him. Due to his suspension. Valen Itu's skin has been a nice player, but certainly not one that you can't live without error. Johnson his entire contract is a complete albatross, so I think the Sakic will be begging. For Seattle to take Eric Johnson. I don't think that's going to happen. And in fact, Eric Johnson is waiving his no movement clause, which protected him when Vegas came into the league. "There's Have a massive piece of motivation that comes with that as well. So I think it could be nothing but a good thing for the Avalanche to have that pressure and expectation this season and it's not a small window. Either. You look which It's coming up through the system and the way that the ads are structured. Now it's it's it's a It's a decent sized window for Colorado toe, get it done with a group of players that they have. Yeah, and then they have players on the way that we may see sooner or later. But there's some promising players that are not going to be on the ice tonight. That could be it could play a role this season. Last year. You know, part of the absolute success was the fact that it seemed like everybody knew that Joe Sakic brought in, uh, you know, contributed it Just like Joe Sakic hit gold like five times with the additions that he made. He makes a couple this year understanding that this is not a roster that needs to be overall by any stretch. Brandon Saad Devontae Aves. You look at those two guys being the big additions. What kind of a fit and what kind of an impact do you think those two guys can have?
