"It is 6 42. This is Alabama's morning news. I'm J T. A interesting story may have been following this just but there's a 22 year old girl named Gabby Petito has gone missing. And what happened and what's happening now is a bit of a mystery. Joining us now for the update on this Jeff Manasso is here at Fox correspondent Jeff Good Morning. Welcome. And thanks for being here. A J. T good to be with you. He knows something that from the family of 22 year old Gabby Petitto, who was a cross country road trip with her boyfriend, 23 year old Brian Laundry. So Petito was last seen August 24th checking out of a hotel and sound like city. The last phone calls who were family was August 25th from Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. Before laundry, returned home to Florida in potatoes van without her on September 1st potatoes. Mother reported her missing 10 days later. And desperate for answers, the laundry and his family. They're not saying a word to anybody. He has since lawyered up. Wow. Not speaking a word about this. This is not looking good. It wasn't there. An incident between the two Brian and his girlfriend, Gabby at some point where police were brought around, and nothing ever came of it. Yeah. Police in Moab, Utah, saying that they responded to an incident involving the couple on August 12th two weeks before Pitino vanished. According to the incident, report, officers were called to the moon flower. Community co op in Moab. It's locally sourced food store. A bystander reported seeing the pair arguing over a phone, telling police that when laundry got into the couple's fan, he saw what appeared to him as Gabrielle hitting Brian in the arm and then climbing through the driver's window of the van that Brian and apparently locked her out of she was trying to trying to find a way into that van. The officer later located. The couple notice Gabby kind uncontrollably, she apparently told the officer, According to this report that laundry became embroiled in a fight that was fueled by some sort of mental health issues. There's some things that are redacted in this report. Um in this is maybe a bizarre coincidence, But investigators have also not ruled out a potential connection between this case and the double murder of another couple, Crystal Turner and Kylian shelter. They were last seen August 13th. They were found shot to death outside Moab. Five days later, he worked at that moon flower coop. And empty. It could be a bizarre coincidence. I don't know, but it's part of it's part of the investigation. The FBI is on the case and you know they're searching toll cameras, gas station cameras, credit card receipts. Uh, you know, cell phone tower pings anything and everything that can help them try to piece information together because Brian Laundry is not saying a word to anybody. Oh, my gosh. Well, they left you New York and then they You know, this was what last July, and they made this cross country trip stops in Colorado and Utah. And they were on their way, I guess to the Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone, Wyoming. Do they have any idea Along that truck from New York out that West where along that route, she went missing her. They still not sure where. Well. Gabby's family is in Wyoming right now, and they are searching the Grand Teton National Park. That's that's their focus right now. Gary's mother, also saying that she received a final text message from Gabby. Which suggests she made it 800 Miles west to Yosemite National Park in California. That text which reads no service in Yosemite. Potatoes. Family believed that that was a forgery. Forged text. Uh, this is not looking good at all. So he's not saying a word. They they've got him now as a person of interest, At least have they ramped it up to suspect at this point, Any comments from him whatsoever? Is it immediately. Lawyer not speaking. Yeah, well, so the police in north Port Florida, where he lives with his parents should do potato apparently lived with him as well. Um, they totally lured up. Um, his his lawyer, his his defended his silence, he says, my experience intimate partners are often the first person law enforcement focuses their attention on in a cases like this. And in the warring that you know, any statement made will be used against you is true, regardless of whether my client had anything to do with Miss potatoes, disappearance. Potatoes family issued another statement in which they call them laundry. You answer questions about about potatoes have disappearance. They referred to as silence as reprehensible. They're begging him to do the right thing to say something, but he's not going to Yeah, well, I think we all know where this is going to end up. It sounds like another episode of, uh 2020 or deadline. Um and, yeah, they'll get to the bottom of this at some point. No doubt I'm with the family and that, Jeff, you know, it's so sad at this point. You know, come clean and let us have our daughter back. You know, she's 22 years old, and they have no answers, but, uh, praying for decent outcome? Yeah, Jeff, thank you so much. I'm so glad you're back on the program. Uh, first of all, let's start with Paula Jones. You've got interview with her, and you have a little bit of history with her. I do indeed. Yeah, I did the first interview with Paula Beck in 1998 as she was Uh, suing President, then President Clinton for sexual harassment and turned out We actually were speaking the same day the settlement was being root root reached, so it was a crazy, intense time We're talking to her again on the occasion of the FX series Impeachment, the American crime story that is done from the perspective of Monica Lewinsky. Monica Lewinsky is one of the Executive producers. And so obviously it's sympathetic to her and Paul is a little bit missed because they never reached out to her. To check any of the facts. And so I said, Well, what did they get wrong? She said. Well, let me start and she goes through the list, which you'll see tonight on inside edition on Channel two, And then we started talking about the whole me two things and I've never really kind of focused on this. But she was in a way the godmother of me, too. She spoke up in 1994. And 90 nineties seven. Maybe when she filed her lawsuit, and the incident was in 94 people that speak up back then, and she makes it very interesting point, she said. You know, I've been criticized and people look at me with this stain. He came on to me. He dropped his pants. I said no and ran, she said. Monica Lewinsky didn't say no. We know what happened under the Resolute desk. It was in the Starr report. And yet she is regarded as a sympathetic figure. And I'm not, And I thought, Wow, that's actually true. And what a burden to carry so super interesting interview So, Debra, But if I'm not mistaken, Do you remember when these allegations came out the way the mainstream media that was protecting Clinton because, frankly, he was a Democrat. How they disparaged Paula Jones, calling her like trailer trash or something like that. James Carville talked about dragging a dollar bill through a trailer park. I remember that comment and the late night comics also had a heyday with her, and I asked her about that years ago, when we did the first interview. And she's like I don't live in a trailer. You know if I did fine if that was the best I could afford, But she said, I don't live in a trailer. They were just partly because she's from the South. As a Southerner. I get that we talked with a little bit of an accent. You make fun of us. I get that, But yeah, it I don't know if it was a Democrat thing. Yeah, maybe, probably, but it was definitely a class thing right? The perception was she's of a lower Socioeconomic echelon, and therefore we can be dismissive. I'd like to think that a generation later as a nation, we've we've made a little progress on that front. Deborah Norville. Well, actually, you were the first one to follow this strange story of this, Uh, young woman from Long Island that lives in Florida going cross country with her boyfriend. Now she's missing. The boyfriend. Talk to police man. Is something fishy going on here? Well, that's certainly what the family says. But it's interesting when we interviewed them and aired the story last night on inside Edition. Gabby Petitto is the young lady who's gone missing. She's cute as a button. She had been documenting this cross country. Um, vacation. She and her boyfriend were taking it. One point they were even engaged, according to her instagram. Post from a while back, and suddenly when she Entered the state of Wyoming. She called her mom said. We've just gotten Wyoming or on our way to Yellowstone. That was the last mom heard of her, and that was the tail end of August and no further communications. And then suddenly, the boyfriend ends up back home in Florida. He also is from Long Island. We believe when they went to high school together in they point point point made a point to point to point Long Island, and, um The van that they had been traveling in. He's got now that van is now been commandeered by the Florida state officials, who are reportedly combing it for any forensic evidence that might Be found. The boyfriend has has lawyered up. He has an attorney. The attorney is not making a comment. He's not making a comment and very interesting and honestly, I really I commend the parents in this terrible emotional Situation they find themselves when we asked specifically About any thoughts or concerns they might have about the boyfriend. They all said. No comment. The parents are divorced, so Mom is remarried. Dad has remarried, but we interviewed them both separately, and each of them, said no comment, which You know, they have a lot to say. But discretion is the better part of valor. They have obviously been advised that Less is more when it comes to sharing their personal opinions about this young man, especially if they want them to cooperate and tell what happened. Obviously, something happened. The giant question is what and where is she? And Deborah, can we? Can we name the boyfriend? Does he have a name on there? He has a name. His name is Steven. Laurie. Excuse me, Brian. Lori l a you laundry l A U N d r e not spelled like the like The washing machine. But Brian Laundry is the gentleman's name. He's a couple of years older than Gabby. Gabby, I think is 24. So he's maybe 25 26. So they went to the same high school. Um It's a fascinating and upsetting story, but honestly, again, kind of back to the whole class thing. Would we be talking about this missing young woman? If she weren't a beautiful, attractive, exactly, darling looking cute Little blonde, and I said, I said that to Natalie before you came on. I said the only reason we're discussing the stories because she's cute. I mean, that's a sad state of affairs of the media, I guess, but it's true. Well, The other thing too. To be honest with you is she is a prolific poster on Instagram and the photographs. That she has posted and that he has posted as well on his instagram page are dropping, You know, just draw droppingly gorgeous..
