"The the the future dentist coming through as did. Today are so much more involved in dentistry than any of us in the class of ninety seven where like that like like but it also i also see it in the courses that we that we do here you know. It's predominantly definitely predominantly ten years or less out and it's really almost five years or less out and they want the skill set early and had i not had a mentor. That pushed me to implant the minute. I got out of school Like i'd be like the rest of my. I look at my dental school. Classmates like there's a couple of the place implants and They just they never learned yonne like many of them. I swear to enough see aegis to to maintain their license because it's like a ways to the end in like that's not all of them. Trust me but like today. Like i don't i don't see any of these asda. I don't see any of these dental students anything like we did. You know like they're in it. Well you know they have such a network that we never had opportunity to have you know All the social media that they do all the cases they see they see other people in real time doing things that they would potentially think they couldn't do or shouldn't do okay or or don't have the access to and i find it phenomenal The stuff that that can encourage somebody to go on and get more education that is just in your daily Social media blog blows me away. I look at them. All right. you just met Steve or holt in here like he posts complications out of that clinic every day. You'd be surprised how many people it'd be like like like that's crazy. Like i've seen that before was like well like he's he puts it out there because it's era every day and it's in his great content and you know you might pick up like a little pearl right out of like how he managed that or how he stitched that up or like. There's something there's something about that like. i'm proud to say. I went to dental school before. Cellphones i remember getting a pager was a big deal like that. Was technology savvy picking on because you went to school with cell phone. Yeah there are cell phones. Pagers to we were on call their pagers brick. It's fun to see all the social media and it's actually I can say it so. I've been posting my work for the last maybe five years. And it's improved my own dentistry. So much and development i for dentistry where you know i would see anti-turkish before and think wow that look good. Because they're all white now you look for those nuances in color and detail and same surgery. I mean you. Can you just learn all of that on the daily posts whoever's willing to share be vulnerable that information but i also think that it's helping that's i think it also helps bridge a little bit of that You know gp super gp specialist deals like. I bet a third of the people. I follow our period on us and surgeons and processed on us. Because why do i follow him. 'cause like they do cool stuff like make you say your your your deal here in a minute like they do special things right and i wanna learn or i wanna learn where that resources that i can have my patient that needs that. Have that done. You know so I I did commission friends since facebook group. message boards just like. Hey listen like. We're gonna have dan on the on the show what you know. What do you want to ask you know one of the predominant things you know that people are talking about today on social media is like okay should i or should i not re- renew my ad membership because there is a there's an undercurrent out there that feels that the ada didn't do anything or didn't do enough for them or whatever that is and i think the two of you have a very unique perspective on this. And that's where. I want to kind of shut up and let you guys talk as i. I know in my art. That the that the amount of time. Which i want you to speak do that you that you put in through all these years of getting to where the presidency and the amount of time that you've spent through this covert thing and chris in you know you've been active in the state board and doing the same thing on the state level because there's two different levels they're like you the ada and then you have the states and for me being licensed in multiple states like you know the state level is really like what is important to my license like that. I mean that's an important piece of maintaining my license. How practice in that particular state. So dan give us a little perspective or some context on how covert hit the ada. Wow that we have another four hours and fifty minutes on this. Podcast so Mike mike iraq interesting stuff One of the things. I do and i always done particularly in any leadership role absorb material and news and stuff like that and so when the sole things started in wuhan. We were watching it relatively carefully In the president-elect kind of at that time was the president-elect president-elect assists the president and a lot lotta times the president preselected. Ed will travel together. And we visit a lot of people. And i i Specifically remember kinda watching this thing progress and when we saw come into washington i said I'm a little bit curious as to where this is going to go. And to be honest we were at that asda meeting in march. Those telling you and we had already started ramping up anything. We could do from an educational standpoint. Our our goal at that time was to provide as much information as we possibly could regarding the disease is disease possible and we had Really pretty inadequate. Faq's and things like that so we push push push in the a phenomenal science basis and so the science guys and their research. People were doing everything they could to find everything about it. So we put that out okay But it came home to me because i remember sitting And asda and that was wynn washington The dental school in washington said they sent out an email and says we are stopping any aerosol producing procedures And i happen to be sitting next to the ed and next to the president. And i said this is going to be a phenomenal problem Because that tolley shuts down dentistry as we know it because once an educational facility makes a determination like that they're considered expertise and therefore it's going to spread. I said how. How do we React to this And actually one of my good friends is ray chimaera the current dean at. Oh you know railway. Yes absolutely and in fact i was talking to him last night and so you tell them you're coming on.

"With cancer will all touch on the latest government guidance and what it means in practice for people living with cancer. If you are asked to attend an appointment, please do keep it and feel confident in doing so we'll also be hearing some updates from Mandy things that keep you connected with people. It's not the same as in person, but it is a good substitute if these are your circumstances now, we know that these recent changes page. Make some people feel very anxious and worried. Please have a listing back to episode 2 of the podcast if you're looking for some guidance and helpful tips about managing your mental health during the pandemic. We're McMillan and we're kicking cancer Rosie and Mark welcome back lovely to have you with us now as in the other episodes we've recorded. I'm going to time stamp this and we're recording this on the 23rd of October 2020 and all the information that we talked about is correct at the time of recording in episode one we discussed what people can do if they're struggling with the new often virtue of two ways of interacting with GPS Specialists and Healthcare professionals, the millions support line team are still receiving some calls about this. So I'd recommend that anyone worried about that particular issue liquid back to episode one for more information loads of great advice there. However, for some people physical appointments and treatments in hospitals GP surgeries and pharmacies are going ahead but Standardly people may be feeling very anxious about the safety of this while covid-19 is still very much present Rosie what precautions are in place in hospitals and Health Care settings at the moment and how are they making these environments as safe as they possibly can for patients? Yeah. Thanks emigrate to be back. Thank you very much. And as you say we talked about some aspects of this last time obviously, it's totally natural to worry about going for appointments. All of us are anxious at the best of times where when doing this but of course now, there's all the added concerns and Logistics on top of that but you know, he was telling me that actually they're really reassured by all the precautions that they see once they arrive. So again last time we did talk about that shift from not quite so many face-to-face appointments and some telephone or video. So that does actually help because that means there are actually less people going through the hospital and of course when you get there, you'll might have a timed entry you might be asked to log In your vehicle until your appointment time and some places are even giving page or alerts out. I know one of our McMillan information centers that same close to one of the hospitals. In fact, right next door. They've opened up their car park to allow people to part there and indeed if you aren't traveling by car, they're also allowing people to wait inside and the hospitals just buzzing straight across when they're ready for the patient off. And of course, there's all the cleanliness precautions Jetta at the doors PPE and for the staff in particular and then the red and green channels in the hospital so areas where cancer patients would be kept well away from potential infection risk and deep cleaning is just going on relentlessly. So I suppose I'd say there are so many precautions in place. The most important thing is that if you are asked to attend an appointment, please do keep it and feel confident in doing so and one last thing just following up on some of the conversation we had last time about the challenges of not being dead. Take someone to your appoint. Yes. Yes. Some of that is lightning up a little bit in some particular circumstances not across the board, but it it's really important so do ask because it might actually be possible that you can take someone to some of your appointments actually from a personal perspective a friend of mine one for her yearly check-up post treatment for breast cancer yesterday and the situation about taking a couple had changed so so she was able to take somebody with her not all the way. That's great. You make sure you ask. Yeah. Absolutely you did just touch on that lightly not everybody is able to be picked up from the front doorstep and dropped at the at the door of the hospital her many people public transports. The only way they're going to get to these appointments and that has its own level of risk and its own level of anxiety as well. What steps can patients take to ensure they are traveling safely themselves really understandable that you're going to be worrying about this and actually you might be worrying about it and feel I really can't bother people. Hospital or my health care teams to talk about this but actually you absolutely should it may well be that there are options that they can do to modify something simple like Changing Times of appointments. So you're not traveling that busy times and might be able to actually organize things so that for example a blood test might be closer to home. So so please do ask if there are any options to explore if you do have to travel then definitely follow the guidelines travel in a bubble where possible if you've got to travel in a taxi, for example where a mass can open the window and not follow the guidelines which you will find online and I know also that some of our McMillan information centers have been linking locally to see what transport services are available. So again, just whereas to assist with this if you're worrying about this ask there's so much talk of what's online and there's so much information online and I know for for some people who maybe don't have access to computers job Or a little bit older and there are people on the end of a phone on there at the hospitals at appointments that and people are willing to talk and explain through the processes that you might have to that. You might expect them very definitely again. I can only reiterate that on that men and support line. Is there also and we'll be able to answer these queries a direct you to any of our local services. So absolutely people are available at the edge of a phone be that your health care team or indeed the mcmillans support line. So absolutely you don't have to go online that there will be someone at the end of a telephone line. And so please pick up the phone and asked I think you know, when you have a cancer diagnosis, it's again creating levels of anxiety. Very basically though. How does the shielding measure that one place in lockdown Mary with these the the new three-tier system that's been introduced by the government recently. So, I think the most important thing is that you do need to check the local restrictions and guidelines. For your area and if you've got any specific concerns about this, then do check in again with your health care team. They might be able to advise about any adjustments and be able to reassure you about precautions. We are advised that there will be a letter coming from the government to people who are on the extremely vulnerable list and to explain to them what advice they need to take and that length is is immanent but I think it's really important at the moment with the rapid change. We're seeing and different geographical areas that you make sure that you're up to date on what the local advice is Margaret. Yes, Rosie mentioned obviously for pharmacies across the UK the changing restrictions and tear system is meaning that you guys as well having to be quite reactive quickly to to make the experience of being able to get along bonuses or access to information from you guys available quickly and safely. Yes. I am I Rosie it is confusing isn't it? And t as in England firebreaks lockdowns in in school? Northern Ireland and Wales. It is very important that you stay close to the local guidance and guidance on travel but for pharmacies are open as as they have been all along through this pandemic and and we continue to be open for advice and you can access your medication and there are rules and support on on doing that. So so feel free not only need to access them physically on the High Street, but also ring ahead and to Rosie's point, you know pharmacies are available to advise. If you have any questions on on how to access medicine or get them delivered or how to help order your prescription with your GP too. Lovely. Thank you. If there was one starting point that people can go to what's your advice about.

"A good time. Well we'd we'd love to see you in attendance at one of our fantastic webinars just go. What a dentist advisors dot com sign up today for the next one? Thank you very much. Let's go into some thoughts and ideas asked you to think through on some of the biggest issues that you've learned in your time as a practice owner you also Just kind of throw the sitting there and you did start a very One one of the more influential facebook groups orthodontist called Ortho Pearls. You guys have an annual event the event. It's the mother of Pearls Conference Prince this year it was in Scottsdale next. What's in California in Southern California Newport? Yeah this year was in Newport. I should know because we were there. It shows how much I've traveled. Warm weather warm not resort me and Ryan have injected with that lately like I was in an airport the other day and I was on a plane right and I didn't know what I was that much like where are you I'm like I literally don't know right now I think I'm in Arizona. I yeah sure anyways so next year that conference is GonNa be in Minneapolis. You've had to do a lot to get that going and build the practice and you've continued. Have you dropped all your associate days like remind me if you're done on all your associates. Now yes so I still go out to L.. Kill so okay okay. You're still grinding away. See that's why like I was hoping you hadn't yet but I love it there. Yeah I honestly like I love the relationships there and I'm now treating you know parents of the kids. Their kids are on treatment you. I've been in there six and a half years so I really enjoyed doing that. Ah enjoyed going sometimes. It's probably like do you like the drive every once in a while. I love the draft. That is self driving car get stuff done. Yeah hop pop a podcast Eh. Pop An audible books. Do some work email I can do. Some Ortho proves the up on the quite as time your life. It's not that I the drive. Yeah well if we look back at all this experience I wanna hit on a few things you feel like your biggest takeaways. What are the things that have helped you kind of carve out success in your career right now? Your practices doing really well. You guys are expanding. You've since the time that you joined. I mean the practices obviously a lot larger now continues to grow. But you've done Ortho pearls and that's become I think there's I don't know how many members of that group hundred almost six thousand now that's for The country only has just north of ten thousand Orthodox. So it's not like there's you you got half the market like listening to your content. I just want to kind of have you share some of your thoughts. I think will apply both. GP's specialists across the board well. First of all I think just having a passion for what you do is so important. I absolutely love orthodontics. I think about Orthodoxy reminds me of time when I was in residency and one of my business partners in Ortho pearls is Chris Peters and I went to residency together and and a couple of times a year. You go to a meeting where the go as a whole group. And it's usually a continuing education type meeting and that's kind of like your vacation vacation in residency. 'cause you're poor you don't have exactly you're when you're especially as a non resident of the state from Utah in Minnesota when you have vacation occasion time you go back home family. Vacations are few and far between and we would go to these conferences. And we'd be out you know having dinner. Whatever as a group and my friend Chris Peterson I would be talking about orthodontics at dinner on quote the case? Yeah Yeah my Buddy Sean who is still really good friend. But he's dude guys like we're out of the clinic right now. You WanNa do something besides talk about. Why are you guys talking about this and we just love it like it's just awesome? It's fascinating so number one. I'm kind of a nerd and you know I like I like what I do and so I think that's huge in having the energy to propel you do things in your field. Maybe extracurricular type things like or so. What do you think stopped some people from because I think it's easy to say you got to love what you do and you got braces thing but like you're naturally that that way? I think a lot of people that know me really well would say did your I last week. I paused on the side of the road. pullover over to record a facebook live video to answer a question on our facebook group about average how to calculate average fee waivers offers on the expense ratios on mutual funds. 'cause they're like you feel that really like that's smile. It's interesting and I was like this is cool. Yeah but like what if somebody is listening. They're like I'm Kinda just like I'm in the middle here like I don't. I've got some thoughts on this but I want you to respond to that like what if I'm not naturally interested. I'm Kinda just here functionally cal can I increase my. Can I move towards words because obviously it's better to to enjoy what you're doing really embracing your patients are GonNa Notice. Your career is going to be better. How do I move the needle a little bit? If I've not loving it. Okay Yeah I think probably number one is to develop some really good relationships in your industry. Okay I think having people that you look forward to seeing when you go to meetings is huge that that kind of gets you to. The meeting was having relationships having something to look forward to and kind kind of having a buddy to sort of follow up with after the meeting you can be like hey like I thought this is really cool. Like I'm implementing this you know. What are you doing so fide relationship basis eh kind of help you get outside of your own little sphere which can be Kinda lonely and not not get a lot of feedback in socialize is but more get inspired? You're saying right so I think that's one thing another thing I think is trying to find purpose in what you do. That's not clinical looking past this like I put braces on right right people right so having a sense of purpose. I can't remember. I saw some some podcasts or something in the last several years ago that talked about what keeps a team or employees motivated and of course pay is one of those things but another one is having a sense of purpose. Yeah so I think you know beyond clinical looking at what we do like having interactions with patients having interactions with their team members. How can we put more purpose into those interactions? Yeah you know how can we. Can we drive that. And so as North Carolina's I try and connect with my patients in a meaningful way I mean I view this as like you know what here's A. Here's he's an opportunity rather than his diving right into the clinical and sometimes we're kind of running behind and my assistant who's trying to be efficient will sort of you know talk over me at the beginning of the point where I'm saying. Hey Man Jack how you doing today man. How's IT GOIN'? Yeah and so on and start talking about what wires all know. How are you doing man? How school school-going let's connect you just to even if it's just you know pretty basic stuff? We're like you actually care about it. Yeah we're it's actually energizing to you. Yeah Yeah right where you're you're trying to connect in that way where you're sharing positive energy trying to find some purpose in what you do. It's great you know other than just like okay this is drudgery the business and doing this 'em od. Prep for her totally. I gotta fix this broken bracket. I think it's important wanted to keep that in mind. Sometimes you are the most positive like you might be the most positive interaction. Someone has had all day that the whole day and maybe could be one of the most positive interactions people have had like think about the monotony of some of the work work that dentists and orthodontist do patients know that that work is difficult right. They know that it's a grind right. You're ben over. You're moving from person to person you're getting spit on your people generally don't Come with a positive attitude to the appointment because it's a scary intimidating Eddie place to be if you can turn that kind of interaction or that kind of context into a positive experience for them. That makes them go man even in all of this challenging kind of crazy stuff that these guys have to do. I'm still getting really positive. Energy back from them like almost more than anyone. I'm interacting with. How cool what that does send a very deep message? I think to people about how to carry yourself and and the power that you know positive energy. She does have on other people's lives because it's not it's difficult place to have positive energy. Oh Yeah it's not an easy job especially when you're moving as an orthodontist honest when you're moving a hundred miles an hour in between patients you really difficult so I think that's really good. You know one thing on that. It made me think one thing that I've really enjoyed trying to tap into is being vulnerable in those very mundane interactions because we have many of those per day. Yeah hey how how you doing. How a school? If that becomes routine you lose the sense of purpose but when you're vulnerable in that and like you actually like you actually care. Yeah you actually actually are trying to get to know someone better and it's not just for business and it's not just to be courteous. It's because you actually care like you mentioned you're trying to actually make that person feel seen. Yeah make that person feel important it Kinda changes like the way you approach that sort of changes and being vulnerable when your communication like last week is a couple of weeks ago was Thanksgiving and I talked with our team and said Hey. This is Thanksgiving Week. I would really liked to see if we can think every single patient this week for being a patient of ours and the family and I tried to do that myself off disconnecting and saying at the end of each appointment connecting with the with the patient or the parent to say what we really appreciate. Oh you guys we love that you guys chose us as your orthodontic providers. Thank you so much for being one of our patients like. We're we're really happy that you're here. That's cool yeah yeah just feeling that they they actually some of my felt like we're kind of a little bit surprising. Go them right. Yeah on on one other highlighted. I didn't know that might be more obvious to people going to show you this facebook post. I did a couple of days ago. You might have seen it but this is that dude. This is me and my this facebook. Poll is this is my over bite. I when I was in Dodi started. Notice them some crowding my teeth. My my bite was off and I started noticing how you know that was changing and I've never really been a person that's been super self conscious but I. I started noticing that my bite was like kind of it was causing. demeter like have little confidence. When I was speaking more I was starting to get to a situation where I was kind of? I mean I was in dentistry as is a financial advisor. Dennis are looking at me. It was really interesting. One of my closest friends you know. Brian horsely They'd be the huge honor of helping open. Straighten out my bite and Straighten out my teeth and it was just cool to see him and a good combination of people. Chris Nilsson really talented. Oral surgeon. Brian My brother-in-law who plays my implant. I know Brian and Christian. Yeah both amazing talented people. You know like the confidence level level that I came away with after that experience was really positive you know and it really affected my life in a in a way that few people really have. I mean you know because it's a it's a major part of your perceived vow it's a major affects how you yourself perception in a significant way and your confidence level level and and how you're able to execute your your entire job and everyone's job requires you know some level if you can think about it if if every person sudden in the US could actually have that opportunity if the cost of orthodontics like imagine the opportunity that everyone has to to really make orthodontic care more accessible to even more people. Through improving your practice efficiencies driving down your cost structure improving your capacity to.

"In history goodbye KFI. AM six forty more stimulating, talk Welcome back Len crush Berg with us of course we're talking. About his book spirits and stone? Glenn where do you get the. Book You get the book well of course Amazon. But if you have a good local. Bookstore you go in there and see if they have it. Or asked them to order it Like, to promote local buy local and local bookstore or did you have fun writing the book Because, I got to spend a lotta time out in the, woods and wandering around and, you know keeps me out of trouble and Some exercising fresh air When you started looking at these structures for, the very first time were you, in all I was and I I, have to say when when I made this connection with. The Drako Petra for overlook mountain I was I was in disbelief for half a day so we. Had we had an GPS specialists from the. New York state, museum Susan Sweeney She came out again probably almost ten years, ago now want to say it was two thousand eight and she did a survey, of, the, site, on overlook mountain, and documented about, forty six small Karen and sixth grade Karen to, serpent laws Excuse. Me And a couple. Of springs so she plotted all this on a topographical map and sent it. To me and when I first, saw it what struck me really were the the rows of. Smaller carriage these are the ones that are probably Forty four to five feet high and, about the same wide and they were in crested, rose just, lined up and to me that was that was what struck me is something that was interesting lesson to. About a year later that I looked plot and one of my friends Dave. Holding had suggested that maybe it, was a you know some of these stone constructions connected to. Make a star map with the constellation I was so much skeptical of this because there are so many of them up there that you could you know kind of cherry picking and create all kinds, of designs by connecting the dots so I decided, just to, just to focus on the large constructions there were eight large constructions up there The six giants or great Karen to the two serpent effigy was all of these structures are between sixty. And one hundred feet and legs decided to just plot those and connect the dots and the only possible matter possible and and when when I did I. Compared it to a chart of the northern hemisphere star charts. And only, one came anywhere close and that was Drako and it matched very closely I was just blown away by how close this configuration on the mountain of these stone constructions connected in a way that, mirrored this, constellation in the sky so I got a and I didn't know anything about. Drako you know I started researching it and found out that it, was one of the most important constellations In ancient apology it was recognized by the ancient Chinese the increase the ancient Persians state Norris all ancient cultures most recognized Drako as a serpent or snake in the sky so having made. This connection this correlation on overlook. Mountain I got some astronomy software and I put in the coordinates of overlook mountain to see what was in the sky above it and sure enough there was drako's sitting in the. Sky always above there was overlooked that and that's because as I mentioned Drako is marking celestial north and I believed overlook mountain and Petra form that was. Built on it was also a beacon marking celestial north for. Anybody in, abuse shed of this mountain which is extensive consider snapping for thirty miles in all directions So so yeah I. Was I was certainly in all of that and and it just kind of scratching my, head for half. A day say it how can this be And since then I believe. We had one similar kind of a Tiffany or discovery that's the association, I made, good dance camera point The Hudson river the mouth of the creek across the river slightly to the. North and that's, also a very important celestial relationship between that point of land on. The river and and the mouth of the creek Dance comer point was actually named by the crew of Henry Hudson ship As she was sailing, up the Hudson on his third voyage of discovery in sixteen o nine his crew, witnessed the ceremony taking place on a point of land on, the Hudson about forty, miles north of Manhattan and natives paint their bodies painted dancing and chanting, and around the ring of fires reported in the log of the Half Moon and Unscrew immediately called his devil-worshiping named it camera point which needs devil's dance chambers And but why why was this point so important, and when I found, it that summer solstice alignment with the mouth of creek right across the river I understood why this is such an important spiritual place where they would have held their ceremonies were. Some of these structures Glenn built to keep things in or keep things out Well it depends on, what those things are I think they in many cases they were a they were built in a way to be a transition between worlds so there's a lot of symbolism there Yes Connection to the to the sky? World And the underworld and there are many symbolic relationships around around many ancient cultures that have to do with You know elements of of the sky element of the subterranean. Worlds coming together and being you? Know joined in the in the plane living here on the earth's surface did they. Have any practical purpose or was it more as you've just mentioned this more esoteric reason Well I think they did. Have practical purposes I think they, they were multi purpose as I mentioned earlier I think they were In the case of the chambers they certainly had a right a shelter sure. Many of these large stones large boulders and documents. Are not just what we would call calendar stones and that they, allied with, but they're also compass stones oriented to the directions they'll have no noses or prominent faces and points that have, been you know oriented to north, south east and west usually north south north east, and west south sounds not so much documented but, a few, instances of that but knowing the directions of north, south east west ancient culture is, extremely important and they didn't have you. Know the kind of compasses we had. Today magnetic needles they, did it more through Understanding the movements, of the sky and simultaneously And condition on certain days of the year at the sunrise sunset that allowed them to understand pretty accurately where north. East south, west with these different orientations worth and they they let these markers scattered across the land that acting has calendars, compasses so doesn't get more practical than now let's go. To the phones now west, of. The Rockies Arnie. Is, in, granite bay California go, ahead Ernie yeah hi I'm from California now but I grew up in that Huts My father had a farm in Hyde Park Like under ten I lived on and. My grandparents had a hotel and pine plains I'm sure these names are all familiar? At, Hyde Park is were. Roosevelt was, right yeah right on the Hudson in fact And I can attest to the stone structures that, were built by their. LA people because for example my father is fine the vibe wire fences followed all the stone stonewalls and a lot of. The stonework that was their. Way before that in colonial times but the the com the comment I wanted to make because I did a lot of research on the. Air Koi Indian and they're the mohawk it's lived in that area and one of? The striking things I've found I'm looking, at pictures that I could pull up on the very earliest Cama pictures of Eric why. Was they didn't. Look like the other American Indians mahogany and the air co I don't know which tribes. There was. But they have very similar. Features to Europeans and I couldn't understand that how that was why was different and. I really mused about the culture and also the statue was a little bit different? They, were they were not. Really short You've heard of the European and I it's a it's a questionnaire on the culture and where, they where they came. From but the question I had was regarding I would like to go to some of those sites 'cause I'm going back. To my high school reunion. This October and I'd like to go to some of those sites to see but the problem that I would think I would encounter because. Having grown up there no the area most of all the land is private you? Know it's not like out here in, the west where we have the public land where you can walk walk all over the. Place are those. Are those sites visible can person just go and visit them and also do you have. A tour. That you would offer somebody Yes and yes The you're right most of these sites are, on private property and I take pains in my book not to disclose their location to protect them. From being disturbed but there are a few sites that are, on DC land New York State Department, of environmental conservation and and they are easily accessed and a. Cat.

"Welcome back clump Christ Berg? With us of course we're talking about. His book spirits in stone Glenn where do you get the book You get the book well of course Amazon. But if you have. A good local. Bookstore you, go in there and see if they have it. Or asked him to order it To promote, local buy local and you know local bookstore or did you have fun writing the book Oh I had a blast because I got to spend a lotta time out in the, woods and, wandering around and, keeps me out of trouble and exercise and fresh air When you started looking at these structures for the very first time were you in all I was and I and I I I have, to say when when I made this connection with the. Drako Petra for my overlook mountain I was I was in disbelief for half, a day. So we had we had a GPS specialists from the New York, state museum Susan Sweeney She came out again probably almost ten years ago now want to say it was two, thousand eight and she did a survey of the site. Overlook mountain and documented about forty six small Cairns and sixth grade Karen to, serpent laws Excuse. Me And a couple. Of springs so she plotted all this on a topographical map and sent it. To me and when I first, saw it what struck me really were the the rows of. Smaller carrots these are the ones that are probably Forty four to five, feet high and about the same wide and they, were in, crested rose just lined up and to me that was that was what struck. Me is something that was interesting about a year later that the plot and one of my friends Dave, holding head, suggested that maybe it was a you know some of these stone constructions connected to. Make a star map of the constellation I was so much skeptical, of this because there are so many of them up there that. You could you know kind of bum cherry picking and create all kinds of. Designs by connecting the dots so, I decided just to just to focus on the large constructions. There were eight large constructions up there The six giants were great. Karen to the two serpent effigy was all of, these structures, are between, sixty and, one hundred feet and legs so decided to just plot those and connect the dots and, the only possible matter possible and, and when when. I did I compared it to a charter of the northern hemisphere star chart and only one came anywhere close and that was Drako and it matched, very closely I was just blown away by how, close this, configuration on the mountain of these stone constructions connected in a way that mirrored. This constellation in the sky so I got a and I didn't know anything about Drako enticed under researching, it and, found out that it was one of the most important constellations in ancient apology it. Was recognized by the ancient Chinese ancient Greece ancient Persians Incheon Kelsey, ancient Norse all ancient cultures most recognized Drako as a serpent or snake in the sky so having made this connection is correlation on overlook mountain I got some astronomy software and I put. In the coordinates of overlook mountain to see what was in the sky above it and sure enough there was Drako sitting in the sky always above there was overlook. Mountain and that's because as I mentioned Drako is, marking celestial, north and, I believed. Overlook mountain and this petrified That was built. On it was also a beacon, marking celestial north for anybody, that abuse of this mountain which is extensive You can see the snap thirty miles in all directions so so yeah, I, was I was certainly in all of that? And and it just kind of scratching my head for half a day say how. Can this be the meaning of this and since then I believe we had one similar kind of a Tiffany or discovery that's the association I made with. Dance camera the point on the Hudson river at the mouth of the creek across, the river slightly And that's also a very important celestial relationship between that point of land on the river and and the mouth of the creek Dan camera pointless actually named by the crew of Henry Hudson ship As she was sailing up, the Hudson on his third voyage of discovery in sixteen o nine his crew witnessed, a ceremony taking place on a point of land on the, Hudson about twenty miles, north of Manhattan and. Natives paint their bodies painted dancing and chanting and around the ring affiars reported in the log of the Half Moon and Crew, immediately called his devil-worshipping. Named it dance camera point which needs devil's dance chambers But why why was this point so important and when I found it that, it aligned, summer solstice alignment with the mouth of the creek right across the river you know I understood why this was such an important spiritual place where they would have held their ceremonies where some of these structures Glenn built to keep things in or keep things out Well it depends, on what, those things are I think they in many cases they were a they were built in a way it can be a transition between worlds so there's a lot of symbolism there Yes in a strong. Connection to the to the sky world And the underworld and there are many symbolic relationships, around around many ancient cultures that have to do with You know elements of this guy elements of the ABI subterranean worlds coming together and being You. Know you joined in the in, the plane of the living here on the earth surface did they? Have any, practical purpose or was, it more as you've just mentioned this more esoteric reason I think they did. Have practical purposes I think they, they were multi purpose as I mentioned earlier I think they were In the case of the chambers they certainly had a right a shelter sure many of these large stones. With the solstices but, they're also compass does Oriented to the cardinal directions they'll have no noses or prominent faces and coins that have, been oriented, to north south east and west usually north south. North east and west south sounds not so much documented but a. Few instances of that but knowing the, directions of north south east west to. Ancient. Cultures was extremely important and they didn't have you know the kind of compasses we had today magnetic needles they did it more through to understanding the. Movements of the sky, and And condition on certain days of the year at the. Sunrise sunset that allowed them to understand pretty accurately where north east south, west with these different orientations work, and they they let these markers scattered across the land and acting has calendars and this compasses so doesn't, get more, practical than now let's go to the phones now. West of the Rockies Arnie is in granite bay California go ahead Ernie Yeah hi I'm from. California now but I grew, up. In that area My, father had a farm in Hyde Park Island Like under ten I lived on and my grandparents had a hotel and pine. Plains I'm sure these names are all familiar at Hyde Park is were Roosevelt was? Right, yeah right on the Hudson Yup In. Fact Man I can attest to the stone structures that were built by their LA people because For example my father. Is fine the vibe wire fences followed all the. Stonewalls and a lot of the stonework that was their way before that in colonial times but the the com- other comment I wanna make 'cause I did a. Lot of research on the air Koi Indian, and they're the mohawk lived in that area and one of the striking things I've found I'm. Looking at pictures that I could pull up on the very earliest camera pictures of. Eric I was they didn't look like, the other American Indians mahogany and the air co I, don't know which tribe there was but. They have very. Similar features to Europeans and I I couldn't understand that how that was why was different. And I. Really mused about the culture. And also the statue was a little, bit different, they were they were not really short you've heard of the Europeans. And I it's a it's a questionnaire on the culture and where they do the Where they came from. But the question I had was regarding I would like to go to some of those sites 'cause I'm going back to my high school. Reunion this October not like to go to some of those sites to see but. The problem that I would think I, would account because having grown up there no the area, most of all the land is private. You know it's. Couldn't understand that how that was why was different and I really mused about the culture. And also, their stature with a little, bit different. They, were they were not. Really. Short better Europe You can't and I it's a. It's a questionnaire on the culture and where do. You where they came from but the question I had was regarding I would like to go to some of those sites 'cause. I'm going back to my. High school reunion this October and I'd like to go to some of those sites and see but the problem that I would think I. Would encounter because having grown up there no the area most of all the land. Is private you know it's not like, out here in the west where we have the land, public land where you can walk all. Over the Feis. Are those are those sites visible can person just go and visit them and also do. You have. A tour that you would offer somebody Yes and yes The you're right must most of these sites are, on private property and I take pains in my book not to disclose their location to protect them. From being disturbed but there are a few sites that are, on DC land New York State Department, of environmental conservation and and they are easily accessed. And canton Tennessee.

"Welcome back clump Chris Berg with us of course we're talking. About his book spirits and stone, Glenn where do you get the, book You get the book well of course Amazon. But if you, have. A good local. Bookstore you, go in there and see if they have it. Or asked them to order it Like, to promote local by local and local bookstore or did you have fun writing the book Oh I had a, blast because I, got to spend a lot of time out in the woods and wandering around and, you know keeps me out of trouble and Some exercise and fresh air When you started looking at these structures, for the very first time were you in all I was and I and I I have, to say when when I made this connection with the. Drako Petra for my overlook mountain I was I was in disbelief for half, a day. So we had we had a GPS specialist from the New York, state museum Susan Sweeney She came out again probably almost ten years ago now to say it was two thousand eight, and she did a survey of the site on overlook. Mountain and documented about past forty six small Karen and sixth grade Cairns into, circuit laws Excuse me And a couple. Of springs so she plotted all this on a topographical map and sent it. To me and when I first, saw it what struck me really were the the rows of. Smaller Karen these are the ones that are probably Four to five feet high and about the same wide, and they were in crested rose just lined up, and you, know to me that was that was what struck me is something that was interesting and listen to a about a year later that I looked supply and one, of my, friends Dave holding had suggested that maybe it was a you know. Some of these stone constructions connected to make a star map of, the constellation skeptical of this because there, are so many of them up there that you could you know. Kind of bum cherry picking and create designs by connecting the dots so I decided just to just. To focus on the large constructions there were eight large constructions up there the. Six giants or great Karen to, the two serpent effigy was so I'll be structures are between. Sixty and one hundred feet in length So, decided to just those and connect the, dots and the only possible matter possible and and when when I. Did I compared it to a charter of the northern hemisphere star charts And only one came anywhere close and that was. Drako and it matched very closely I was just blown away, by how, close this configuration on the mountain these stone constructions connected in a way that mirrored. This constellation in the sky so I got a and I didn't know anything about Drako you know I started researching, it and found out that it was one of the most important constellations in ancient mythology it was recognized by the ancient Chinese ancient Greece ancient. Persians ancient counts ancient Norse all ancient cultures most recognized Drako as a serpent or snake in the sky, so having made this connection this correlation on overlook mountain I got some astronomy software and I put. In the coordinates of overlook mountain to see what was in the sky above it and, sure enough there. Was drako's sitting in this guy always above there was. Overlook mountain and that's because as I mentioned Drako is marking celestial north and I believe. Overlook mountain and this Petra form that was built on it was also. More beacon marking celestial north for anybody in abuse abuse of this mountain which. Is extensive you can see the snappy for thirty miles all directions so So yeah I was I was. Certainly in all of that and and it just kind of scratching my, head for half a day say, it how can this be in what's this and since then I believe we had one similar kind. Of a Tiffany discovery nets the association I made this dance camera point on the Hudson, river at the. Mouth of the creek across the river slightly to the. North And that's also a very important celestial relationship between that point of land on the river and and the mouth of the creek Dan camera point was actually named by the crew of Henry Hudson ship As she was sailing, up the Hudson on his third voyage of discovery in sixteen o nine his crew, witnessed the ceremony taking place on a point of land on the, Hudson about forty miles, north of Manhattan and. Natives pay with their bodies painted dancing and chanting and around the ring affiars recorded in the log of the Half Moon and crew immediately. Called this devil named the dance camera point which names devil's dance chambers And, but why why was this point so important and when I found that that aligned, summer solstice alignment with the mouth of the creek right across the, river I understood why, this was such an. Important spiritual place where they would have held their ceremonies were some of these structures Glenn built to keep things in or keep things out Well it depends on what, those things are I think they in many cases they were a they were built in a way it could be a transition between worlds so there's a lot of symbolism there Yes and this strong. Connection to the to the sky world Yeah and the underworld and there are many symbolic relationships around around many ancient cultures that have to do with You know elements of the sky element of the obey subterranean worlds. Coming together and being you know you joined in the in the plane of living here on the? Road, surface did they. Have any practical purpose or was it more as you've just mentioned this more esoteric reason I think they did. Have practical purposes I think they, they were multi purpose as I mentioned earlier I think they were The case the chambers they certainly had a right a shelter and many of these large. Stones and even large boulders documents are not just what. We would call calendar stones and that they allied with the solstices but they're also compass does oriented to the cardinal directions they'll have no noses or. Prominent faces and coins that, have been oriented to north south, east and west usually north south north east and west south some not so much documented but a few, instances of, that but knowing the direction of north south east west, two inch cultures was extremely important. And they didn't have you know the. Kind of compasses we had today with. Magnetic needles they they, did it more through You know to understanding, the movements of the sky and And condition on certain days of the year at the sunrise sunset that allowed them to understand pretty accurately. Where north east south west will be different orientations where and they they let these markers scattered across the land and acting both has calendars, and this compasses so doesn't get more practical than now. Let's go to the phones, now. West of the. Rockies. Arnie, is in granite bay, California go ahead Arnie yeah hi I'm. From Cal, now but I grew up in that area My father had a farm in Hyde Park on island I my my bike under ten I lived on and, my grandparents had a hotel and pine plains I'm sure. These names are all familiar, at. Hyde Park. Is. Where. Roosevelt, was right Dr yeah, right on the Hudson Yup in fact And I can attest to. The stone structures that were built by their LA people because I got my African number my father. Is fine the Vishwa fences followed all stonewalls and a lot of the stonework that was. Their, way before that in. Colonial. Times but The common common I wanna make because. I did a lot of research on the air Koi Indian and they're in the? Mohawk it's lived in that area and, one of the striking things I've found I'm looking at pictures that I could pull up. On the very. Earliest camera pictures photography of Eric why was they didn't look like the other American Indians. Mahogany and. The air co I don't, know which tribes it was but, they have, very similar features to Europeans and I couldn't understand that how that was why was different. And I really mused about the culture, and also their stature was a little bit different they. Were they were not really short you'd better the Europeans and. I it's a it's a questionnaire on the culture, and where they do the OSCE where they came from but the question I had was regarding I would like to. Go to some of. Those sites 'cause I'm going back to my high school reunion this October I'd like to go to some of those. Sites See but the problem that I. Would think.
