The Inspiring Story of Raido GM Barb Yoder
"General manager of the radio station that carries our show in the Tampa Bay Area, really our flagship station since I live in Florida now full time, barb yoder is a pretty amazing woman. She's the general manager of AMH 60 the answer she runs the cluster of Salem radio stations in the Tampa Bay, saint Pete Clearwater region. And she's a pretty remarkable woman. She's a cancer survivor. And as somebody who has followed her for years and worked with her, that was pretty tough for all of us, not to mention what she went through, and yet she beat it. And when she beat cancer, the journey she was on was inspirational to anyone who knows her because being the strong person of faith that she is, she never, ever expressed any doubt or reluctance to embrace the idea that God had this that God was in control no matter what the outcome God had this. And you know that about people of faith, you know that deeply spiritual believers. Understand that no matter what adversity you face, God has this. It may not be the outcome you want, maybe it will. And thank God in barb yoder's case, it was exactly the outcome that we had all been praying for. She beat it, she is fit and healthy and ever smiling and a great presence in my life.
Doug Welcomes Stem Cell Expert Dr. Vincent Giampapa to the Show
"Today's gonna be a great episode. It's one that I've been fascinated now for a while and the things that we're gonna talk about aging stem cells, the advancements in technology, how we deal with our health and our bodies and it's just something that everybody deals with. We're all the time here talking about different issues on the Doug Collins podcast from politics to life to every day. And this one is one I've been excited about for years and as someone who has looked into it, look at how stem cells, the usage of them and also our in our bodies, how we can help make our bodies better. It's been something that I've always wanted to dive into deeper, but also have somebody that can actually be an expert on it in this today is exciting because we have doctor Vincent GM pop on. One of the leading experts in this field. He's been nominated for a Nobel peace, a Nobel Prize Peace Prize probably if he got this all right. But a Nobel Prize on his work, but also many patents, and just in an exciting kind of comment today, we're going to have a great time discussing this. So doctor Jim papa, welcome to the show. My pleasure, Doug, my pleasure. An amazing topic because the model of medicine today is a model that is antique and really can't handle what's going to happen in the immediate future. That is a growth of the aging population on a global basis. You know, today's model of medicine treats symptoms with medications, but not the origin of the diseases we all suffer as we get older. And stem cell therapies are one of the key ways in order to really make a major difference in people's health as we get older, quality of life. And can dramatically drop the cost of healthcare in the future too.
Elon Musk Thumbs His Nose at the SEC Again With Twitter Stake
"Here's how Alex Sherman and Laura Kalani at MS excuse me could be but NBC what is a CNBC Report on Elon Musk doing something really for freedom I hope he does I hope he's able to have a very positive impact there And makes a difference because he's one of the few people who's quite capable of it I believe And of course Biden doesn't invite him to the meetings when it comes to electric vehicles He brings in GM and Ford and the others because Elon Musk is non union Of course we can't have that You know my view is union non union We'll take them all but that's not Biden's view of course because he's for democracy and against autocracy So CNBC covers it this way Elon Musk thumbs his nose at the SEC again with Twitter stake And you know it's so pathetic Would that be the same SEC now that is demanding that people comply with climate change regulations I hope they're litigated up the wazoo on that They have no statutory authority to do that whatsoever The SEC disgusting It is disgusting how they march us in this country violate our law abuse these bureaucracies abuse our children it is disgusting the whole damn thing

Brian Flores Files Discrimination Lawsuit Against NFL
"Most interesting story of the afternoon was Brian Flores. Late last afternoon on the West Coast. It's early evening on the east coast. I'm starting to do my show prep, and I see Brian Flores, who was head coach of the Miami Dolphins for a couple of years, has just unloaded on the NFL. Alleging discrimination against black coaches. And he shot at the NFL and his complaint, and he hit it, but he really took out Bill Belichick. Because Bill Belichick thought he was texting somebody other than Brian Flores. And he was texting, I think Brian did all telling him. Hey, the fix is in. Don't worry, there's the paraphrase I don't have in front of me. Don't worry, Brian, you've got this job, you're gonna get this job. They told me you've got the job. Good for you. You're gonna do great with a giant Brian Florence was in the about to head off to interview at New York Giants land. He had to go through a charade because of the Rooney rule. The Rooney rule requires that you hire at least one African American. You interview at least one African American for every opening for GM and head coach. I think that's the Rooney rule. Now the browns have actually lived by the Rooney rule. They had Hugh Jackson as their head coach. They got the amazing Andrew Barry, who's maybe the best GM in football, both black men who are great professionals. You didn't do so well. But but you can't pretend. And I think Brian Flores, we've got to payday

It Is True That Larry O'Connor Drives a Tesla and Here's Why
"And said Larry O'Connor is is it true that you drive a Tesla It is true that I drive a Tesla Hear me out for a minute A great American made car high quality stuff by the way made by one of the most accomplished African Americans in our history Elon Musk And Biden hates him by the way So that's got to be a good thing right But hear me out I did not get a Tesla for any political reason or environmental reason I honestly couldn't care less as to whether it ran on electricity or gasoline I'm actually a little annoyed at the big I come from Detroit I was born in Detroit originally right That's why I'm so excited about my wolverines beating up on the Georgia dogs tomorrow night in the Miami orange bowl there I come from Detroit and I'm annoyed that Ford or Chrysler GM couldn't put together their engineering know how And design a car as great as a Tesla It is a fantastic car And again I couldn't stick a V8 in there and I'm all over it all right So just so you know When I come home from driving on all that disgusting smarmy clean energy the one downside of the Tesla is there's not nearly enough carbon emissions as I go I miss my carbon emissions The smell of those carbon emissions are intoxicating So I get home to my beautiful home and my wife Meredith and I if it's wintertime we go right to the fireplace and we start burning stuff We just throw logs in there We throw away you will find a cat in the neighborhood and throw it in there Anything to burn more carbon It's our carbon offset If it's summertime we'll do a fire pit in our front yard And it's insane We just burn whatever We find some old tires at a junkyard and we burn the tires and just start smew a black smoke everywhere We live in Maryland so no one really notices okay And that's just you know that's just Baltimore be in Baltimore right It's about all there goes another CFS a CVS up for grab sits what's going on So we do our own sort of carbon offsets When we come home from driving the clean energy vehicle to Tesla So I don't want you to misunderstand who I am or what I

"At LinkedIn dot com slash advantage. That's LinkedIn dot com slash advantage to post your job for free. Terms and conditions apply. Yeah, definitely. That's a pretty good way of looking at it. Good good stuff here on the final app weekly with Quinn Howe. I don't know if you've ever seen the incident tracker at Toby Christi dot com. The conversation sparred from your Texas incident getting to pit road last year, that's actually what caused me. That was the catalyst of what started me tracking instance each week. A lot of people were critical of you and Brad Keselowski mentioned demoting drivers who were involved in a lot of bad accidents. Brett Griffin was very vocal about you specifically. The incident was bad, but I didn't see anything that weren't a demotion. Do you know where you fell on the list of drivers with incidents last season? It has to believe that Texas was my last incident and I should be one of the drivers of the viewers. Yeah, yeah, you are. So on the list, you have 27 ahead of you with more incidents, and you were tied for 28th with several other drivers with just 7 incidents last season. It's just something I found interesting with all the conversation about potential recklessness and your driving style being called into question. I just found that interesting. With the Texas and his family down a bonehead move, there was so many things that went wrong from communications standpoints and the mirror on the window net side falling off earlier in the race. And I was just put in a perfect storm to fail. And I failed. And it was a bonehead move, but however I came out and said that. And I was up front with that and I didn't try to hide from that. But at the same time, I know I'm not the first driver to have ever done that. And I'm not the last driver to have ever done that. It was just my job to take credit. For what I did wrong and go back to my theme and figure out what went wrong, you could make it never happened again. And that's what we did. And the fact that the media or other names went to come out at me, they're trying to make mistakes too. It's all human error. We're out here running 405 106 hundred mile races for 30 at least a year. Shot by side, you're going to have accident and I understand what being a rookie that you're going to get picked on a little more than others. On every little mistake you make. And I just have to kind of put that behind me. And being in the Cup Series you're on your own a spotlight or pedestal if you go that people are going to pick at you and that's just because you're one authority and you need to gain that respect and say that you belong. And that's what kind of strive for heading into the remainder of 2020 and I felt like we did a good job doing so. And that's what I kind of attitude ahead towards it going into 2021 as well. All right, Quinn, one last question with your new 8 ball whisky sponsorship. What activations do you guys have going forward? Will there be some sort of special Quinn half deal where if you finish in a certain finishing spot, fans will get a certain amount of the bottle like a discount or anything like that? You know, we're working on a lot of cool things with 8 ball as far as promos like that obviously we're going to have a bunch of cool apparel with the 8 ball logo. We're going to do some hero card giveaways. We're working on doing a deal where like we said if I finish in a certain position, we're going to try to help out some of the ease disabled racers and getting them the equipment they need to be able to race online. And we're just going to continue to add stuff in and grow as it becomes bigger. And I'm looking forward to going out west where they're based out of here. And meeting all the great team that they have and all the great places that they've already become very popular. And I think it's going to be very beneficial as they come across the U.S. to grow with me and be a part of my team and looking forward to seeing where the things take us. I mean, the sky is the limit. And it's just something that's refreshing to be able to have that support behind you to be able to have a company that believes in what we're doing. It's awesome just to see new companies come to the sport regardless. Quinn, good luck the rest of the season, and thank you so much for taking time out on the final app weekly. Yeah, appreciate it. I've been saying that. We got the magic 8 ball in the car hopefully we can turn our left around, but I appreciate you having me on. Like us at Facebook dot com slash the final lap. Like us..

"It's just it's really tough to be able to indicate whether or not that piece of debris is in the way are going to cause any problems during the race. And the situation is based on a 500, it wasn't like this is a breed that I hit was just laying on the racetrack. It was being thrown off by a car that just didn't have stuff secured well. So and they had tried to buy 5 from what I understand the 24, but he was still out on the track by the time things came off. So it's just some of those things that are happening at such a speed that NASCAR can't control. And you can't really point fingers in a new body. It's just part of racing. You're going to have some revenue and some vendors get loose and they're going to come off and it's just a judgment call on the officiating side of whether or not those pieces are debris are going to be impeding the racing surface. That's understandable. Now you're a guy for whatever reason you have a lot of detractors. I think a lot of people feel that with the lack of NASCAR national series exposure you had going into the Cup Series that they felt that you didn't deserve your ride even though that's really ultimately not their call. Is it painful for you to try to prove those people wrong and end up with such bad luck to start the year? Yeah, it's really tough. Like you said it's our sport is interesting because there isn't a defined regulation or a ladder to say when someone should be eligible to run at what level. And ultimately, as a race car driver, it's my job to get to the top level and get the best bang for my buck as far as for my sponsors and exposure on the budget that we have to race on. And that's kind of what I did. I worked diligently with NASCAR coming through the artist series and next Friday series on what qualifications I needed to hit to run what size tracks. And I stayed in touch with them on a week to week basis to see what we could do next. And once the opportunity opened up and I contacted NASCAR and started running cup just because that's where everybody wants to be right. That's leverage drivers ultimate goal is to do one of four year running in the Cup Series and I just try to get there as quick as I could. With the sponsorship budget I had to try to solidify myself in the sport and I understand some of the some of the backlash of it, is there some experience that I probably should need as a game before I got there? Yes. But at the same time, how many talents and how many drivers do you see that spend too much time at a lower level and never get the opportunity to go to the couple because of the funding goes away because the sponsorship or whatever other reason. So getting to the cup level, I feel like for a guy like me who is on a limited budget and didn't come from a racing background, it doesn't have the name. It was really keen for me to get there as quick as I could and be a part of that garage to make my name known. And I'm very humbled to be able to do so. And I feel like I have the ability to do so. And obviously there's been teams that have decided that I could be that person for them and I'm very grateful for that. And no one could predict the pandemic at the same time. During your rookie season, you're now forcing rookies to learn underground circumstances. And that's very tough. And these guys are the 40 best in the nation and mistakes are going to be made. We're all human. There's human errors all the way up to the best drivers in the series. So I'm not going to sit here and shy away from my mistakes. I'm going to make mistakes and I'm going to learn from those mistakes as well as just labs and experience, you know, at these road course races is something new to me. And I know that experience I can get and I'm going to have mistakes and I got to learn from them and the data center course was obviously very tough because we lost a lot of experience. And that's just something I have to learn from as a driver. Heading into the season that we got 7 more road courses lined up. So I understand like you said the tags that have been put on me, but at the same time, I'm not going to shy away from it. I feel like I've done everything as a driver that I needed to do to get to this level just like any other driver is trying to do at any level right now. And now it's that I'm here, I just have to prove and continue to gain experience and continue to show that showcase the talent that I can be here and a plan to do so and obviously having a team and having sponsors that believe in you is really all you need and that's the people that I have in my corner and those are the people that I'm going to continue to work hard for..

"Know if it'll happen again. And is it finally? I know this question is asked of these guys all the time. Is it finally sinking in that he is the champion? Yeah, definitely. I think now that we're here in Nashville, it really starts to sink in, especially you have all of our team here and some friends, and family, get the dress up, I think tomorrow and give a speech. It's all it all said and then I never got to go to New York and stuff like that. But Vegas was fun, but it really feels like it belongs here in Nashville. So I've enjoyed my time and all there's a lot of fans here that are enjoying themselves too. So before we go to commercial how'd you know? What do we do? So I wanted to bring this up. Jeff Glock, friend of the show, a longtime friend of ours. He zoo goer. Yes, who go? Yeah. So he actually took video of these things. While it was all happening out there, although burnouts and stuff like that, and he compiled them and made a video for TikTok because he figured his body and said, would love it. It got flagged for unsafe behavior. And it was public street. That is hysterical. Yeah, he thought that was pretty funny. He posted that to Twitter. He was like, my video got flagged. Well, it is kind of unsafe behavior. It is although the police break stop the street, traffic and everything, and allow it. So it's kind of funny that it got flagged for unsafe behavior. And these are kind of professionals. All right, well up next, we've got a double shot, two in a row back to back. Of what do we call these encore interviews? Ryan Vargas, and Quinn Hoff, not sure which order yet,.

"Anything else from being at the event in the same airspace as these guys that we might want to know about? Well, I was over petty shoulder there and everything was going good. It was just interesting. Richard Petty has not lost a bit of his wit and his charm. He walks into a room and everybody just lights up. It's like, wow, there's Richard Petty. It's awesome. Right. And so I think from that aspect, he brings a lot to the table for this team. Mari Gallagher, obviously, is going to be the bank roll at this point for the team. He's very frugal with his money. It was funny that Mike beam who came in with GMS on this. On the performance side of things, was kind of making fun of Mari. The owner, because he was wearing new balance shoes, and they were just standard white ones you would usually mow your lawn. And so it was just funny. I look at his shoes. Come on. It was just funny. They're all having a good time. They're joking around. Mike bean has been with petty for a long time. Before he got with GMS. There's a lot of entertaining there. A lot of these guys have worked together a lot in the past. And I think it's going to be really good for everyone. It seems like everybody's very comfortable with each other. Very cool, very cool. All right, we've got some other news to share with you. The 54th snowball Derby went down. It seems like the last ten years has been the 54th, but whatever. At 5 flags speedway in Florida, the 2021 truck series rookie of the year Chandler Smith took home the victory over Derek Thorne, who dominated the event for the second year in a row, Thorne finished in second with most laps led ever at two 87. Cole butcher was third followed by Ryan Preece. You know him from NASCAR, Sammy Smith rounds out the top 5 other NASCAR notables include Carson hostivar in 7th. Eric Jones tenth time of Jessica 11th and grant and finger 19th. Anything else? Well, this was a heartbreak for Derek Thorne. If you watched the whole thing out all played out throughout the week, you won the poll for the snowflake 100, let every lap in the snowflake 101 that thing. The pole for the snowball Derby looked like he was going to lead every lap and win this thing, but they had a late caution for competition purposes, which is, I mean, I don't feel good about how they threw that caution for no reason towards the end of this thing. He had the field covered. So two 87 or two 88 I guess it was Chandler Smith on the restart decides, well, my chance is to run through him. He ran through Derek Thorne, sent him up the track got by him and led the closing laps to Chandler smith's credit. He had to do what he had to do. It's for the snowball Derby. I understand his point of it. But for Derek Thorne, this two years in a row, he's let a lot of laps and he's never won this race. Dude, he led almost every lap in this thing. You just had to feel really bad for him. You could see all week long. He was just pumped and excited and it seemed like he knew this was his chance. This was the time he was going to get at one. Of course, he's a longtime West Coast racer. And for him to come over to the east and have this kind of a car two years in a row and to walk away with no trophy to show for it, it's got to be a bomber. And I feel really bad from the crowd was not happy either. We've got a video on Toby Christie's YouTube channel of the crowd reaction when Chandler Smith was cheering was celebrating in front of the crowd. They were none too pleased. I saw that. Yeah, so bummer for Derek Thorne. It was cool to see Ryan Preece have such a good run chain their Smith. It's good to see him win. You wish it would have been a little cleaner than that. But he didn't wreck the guy. So from that aspect, it's all kind of fair with racing. It's just a really big bomber we seek eye 287 out of 300 laps on that win the race. Yeah, for sure. Now, what's going on here with Chase Elliott doing even weirder racing? Yeah, so he's doing some nitro rally cross over there. Kyle Busch ran this a few weeks ago and actually made the finale. And finished, I think, fourth or so. Chase Elliott was in this thing. He was battling Tanner Foust in one of the qualifying sessions on the way up through there. He actually passed Tanner files for the lead of the checkered flag for the win, but then on further review the race stewards handed out a penalty to chase Elliott for too much contact, which gave the win to Faust. But I don't know, man, so when I look back at it, I thought that was kind of a rough deal because he did make contact with him, but he didn't really knock him off the track or anything, it's dirt. Rallycross racing. I expected a little contact was Formula One involved at all. I mean, it feels like it, which is weird because natural Rallycross is the thing Travis Pastrana is running everything you expect things to be a little wheels off, but yeah, so I was kind of surprised they handed out the penalty for one because of chase Elliott. You expect a little bit of favoritism there from officials because he's pretty popular. But secondly, Faust didn't leave him much room and there wasn't much he could do in that last turn other than that. I think for what he was given to work with, I think he made a pretty decent move, and I think as far as Rallycross goes, I think it was decently clean. All right. All right, well, that's me, I don't know. If Travis was in the car, I think we don't get a penalty there. No. No. All right, last week was champions week. It went down from Nashville, Tennessee. The highlight for me, of course, is always the burnouts, mainly because I didn't get invited this year and I didn't actually watch the awards.

"Dot com. We are in the thick of the off season, but mass. Let's go on still. It just doesn't stop. Literally there's no, there's no break. There's no vacation. It's just continuing to hammer us over the head with work. And it's great. I like it. I, of course, every year at this time, we have the top 16 driver countdown thing that I use to fill time. And I haven't even thought about writing it yet. Yeah, I feel like we might not get to it this year. The way things are going. I basically my game plan for off season stuff is just go until it dries up. And then do the top 16 thing. So if we get to your top 16 thing, it's going to be later than usual because things are things are pretty hot and fevered and crazy pace right now. And then I mean, it seems like the season doesn't start until later, but technically it does because of the whole downtown LA thing. Right. And then the testing stuff going on. Yeah. We got another test coming up next week. I'll be there. Right. So, I mean, maybe we'll do top ten or not top 16 or something. Yeah, maybe we'll just do top one. The champion. Wow. Well, that's cool. That's good news, because I was kind of worried about this particular off season because Phoenix, I think, ended a week early, and then it seems later for the Daytona 500, but like I said, we've got all this other stuff going on. So it's good. It's good. I think I planned my move at a good time for us. I think it helps me kidding. Wow. I mean, it is just, I had no idea how in the thick of things you would be. Like you said, as soon as you hit the ground, you hit the ground running. So that's cool. Yeah. I'm here, might as well do it all. It's all right across the street from me. Why not? Exactly. The commute is easy. That's for sure. It's very low. Although I had to kind of smirk to myself, Toby moves all the way to Charlotte to get in on the inside stuff and then Stewart house racing says, oh, we have a big announcement. At Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Come on, guys. Drive? Of course the PRI going on that makes sense for that announcement to be there because that's where PRI is happening. But yeah, still funny. I was like, yep, great, cool. That'd be a good one for here, probably, but you guys do what you need to do. Over here, mooresville, really like 5 minutes for me. But you do what you want to do. Exactly. Exactly. All right, so this week, you had a chance to go to the NASCAR Hall of Fame. We heard about the big petty announcement, but now there's even more details. Yeah, so now it's official. We know what the team name will be. We understand what the team numbers will be. And we understand the process and structure of the team itself. The big news coming out immediately when we got there when they unveiled the cars is that it will be the number 43 car, which we already knew, which was the petty aspect of things. That would be weird if it wasn't. Right. But the GMS car, which was number 94 going into this merger, is now number 42, so they're bringing Lee petty's car number back to the family team. So patty now has the 42 again. Wow. So what is the, who's going to be driving the driver of that? So ty Dillon, middle school be ty Dillon for the 42 Eric Jones for the 43. Gotcha. Okay, so what is the feeling? What is the sense? How hands on is, uh, is richer going to be in this whole thing? So I ask that tomorrow Gallagher because obviously Richards minority interest in this thing all of a sudden. Right. But Richard is kind of the face of the sport. Exactly, so. He said they will definitely be leaning on him as far as his thoughts and what he thinks they should be doing as far as performance things go and stuff like that. He'll still have his personal endorsement deal. Where he'll be at the tracks and have appearance schedules and stuff like that like usual. So none of that will change for Richard Petty. He's not declining his involvement at the racetrack. He's not slowing down at all. He's actually going to be speeding up a little bit. Richard Petty seemed very energized at the press conference. He was very excited because he even mentioned that some of his partners in the past. I think he was talking about Gillette and Andrew Murthy in the latest investor that was with the team. We're more interested in trying to make money off the team instead of performing on track and being a race team. I think he has confidence that the guys at GMS Mike beam on the performance side of things are going to definitely do what it takes to be a competitor on the track. And I think he's energized the fact this is going to be the most competitive of the 43 team. And now the 42 team have been in a long, long time. That's good to hear because the first I heard of the announcement was like, oh, I guess he's scaling back. He's finally retiring, or whatever. That was the first thought that popped into my head and that doesn't seem to be the case. So if that's good. Yeah, no, so Mario Gallagher outlined it. Richard Petty has not lost any of the interest he had in the sport to begin with. So the exact part of the company he owned is still intact. The only thing they did was buy out Andrew mercy and medallion. So they've taken that exact spot. It's the exact same company. Nobody's been laid off. Erik Jones is not in jeopardy. Nobody's in jeopardy that was with the company before. They're just continuing it. And now they're going to actually do it with a focus on improving the performance. Eric has got to be pretty thrilled. Yeah, so you go into a situation that did not look very favorable a year ago. And I was like, oh, man, this could be the beginning of the end for Jones. Now it's hold on. This could be the beginning of something big. But now he's in the iconic 43 car. There's an effort at concerted effort to make sure this team actually excels going forward. The team that has bought into this team has a performance background in the truck series where they've been champions and they've won lots of races. Yeah. I would feel pretty good about this if I'm Eric Jones compared to where he was a year ago in this deal..

I believe i need to say i'm going to use it for the entire campaign water now granted. That's like anything else. I thought halfway through at drove me bananas. I couldn't i couldn't use it. I had to quit and go back to my old way because it was causing a problem at the table is confusing myself from my players so i scrapped it If that happened no know. Sean knows how i would come back there or somebody else. In the forms or discord is using like pink coders using trello. Excuse me or the people are using facebook groups you know. I don't use facebook of that stuff if you're doing you're doing it successfully. How're you doing it. Asking other people who are are having good luck with it like folks. Our community is a good way to get tips and tricks because practice made perfect in some cases. But sometimes it's much easier to learn from somebody else's mistakes the bang your head in a law firm frontier campaign and you know feel like a fool type of thing cool. I'm i'm really curious to see what other tools people are using and There may be fine. I know there's a finite set that were we'll hear about by also know there's a ship stuff out there right in a I'm really more and more interested in the electronic app stuff. That was your level play and that was one of the cool things about dungeon crawl. Classics ibn remiss. If i didn't bring that up is that you start out as a plea you just some punk per new person and by the time you're done through the funnel whoever you have left that's what they are right. That's your character type of thing. That's so there's something cool in that when you instead of having somebody well i. I always play the healer unless you really liked doing that. You know doing something a little bit different having a different approach to it. I like that. That's that's a good way to break a person. A players perhaps natural approach slash trope that. They've built for themselves like that thought. I thought you said it's a little clunky there. But i keep adamant if that's working for you and having a good time with it i bet you could home that particular character-building tool and can really make something out of it. "Without knowing anything. You've ever adventured through this. You know maybe after characters are done and generated. When do you think is the end of a campaign for you and your player character. Yeah when when what satisfaction. Yeah is it that you know they'd be like wow. I don't know what it's whatever you call it. A day sean. No i mean is that the death of your character. it's done is it. They sail off into the sunset. Is it getting the big artifact. What what is that for you. What would fulfil that. Hey the campaign has completed in my is now could change granted like much knew i would be interested to find out because i wonder how many different types of responses you would get and what type of campaign that would turn into if you were to say this might blair character dies. I'm done another person would be like i want the big epilogue at the end. What regardless of what happens right now. How many people's asks the gay master for their star zhang wishes right. Yeah right is that no not be mony. Anybody who doesn't but there's another player at the table and that person's the game master in some games as we talked about this before. There's some games where that line is very very blurred or nonexistent different roles and approaches but Sometimes the the gym's like you know. I would really. I love what this group is doing. I would like to see what they would do with this challenge right and if that challenge is in in your list of things that you thought would make your character complete. Maybe it was the game thing that would make the game complete for that person. So there's a lot of give and take a lot of take stars of wishes a game master supposed to participate. Oh awesome very there. I mean. I didn't know that. Yeah they're just another player but it's completely different angle right. I could take back and just suck it all up..

"Qr code on the side of the screen and it will take you there. And by the way. Jim sitting down with the ceo of marvell technology. Coming up top. The hour on mad money are from the chips to the banks. One trader in the options market just made a gigantic bet against the financials tony saying joins us now to break down the action tony melissa. We saw massive trade here. Cross the tape. Here in financials for xl f the etf tracks of financial sector. We traded fairly actively about two hundred and forty thousand contracts traitor. In which is about one point four times the average daily volume but thirty percent of that volume from today was on a single trade over seventy thousand contracts of the december thirty six dollars puts were purchased for eighty nine cents puts that are about five and a half percent out of the money. Now we can't say for sure whether this is an outright bearish bet on the banks or of this was a protection trade against a long equity portfolio all long equity position but the fact that this trader went out and paid over six million dollars in premium outright reflects what is a concern of pullback. Here for financials perhaps bent on interest rates but just to put this into perspective the two point three percent of the value that they paid on these poets reflects about a notional value over a quarter billion dollar position if this was a protection play. Thanks to that tony grassi. How are you feeling about financials go into earnings. I mean this is definitely broken out if you look at where it is on a long term chart. It's overextended but for obvious reasons. So i thought it was a protection bet but when you hear the way tony finished up in that there's not too many people that have that on their books. I think that the financials have run pretty aggressively. And i do think they have further to run though if i wanted to tie it up from options. Actually be sure.
GM Advising Bolt EV Owners to Park 50 Feet Away from Other Cars
"General motors now advising chevy bolt owners to not park. Their cars are vs within fifty feet of another vehicle to reduce the risk of a potential fire spreading Driving around in the meantime what. Parking lot i mean. You'd better hope there some open spaces. I guess the got to be one of those great big parking. Lots ever see how people do that sometime. They think they have a nice car. You know what i mean. And they part so far he spots up so no one spots and park way for this. You got to do by necessity so you know cause a massive parking lot fire of vehicles that are there that warning comes after the automaker recalled more than one hundred and forty thousand of these vehicles due to the risk of their batteries randomly catching fire. I guess until you get it fixed. You need to do that I would assume that and now but where do you keep it. You don't wanna keep it in your driveway next to other cars. You probably want keep it in your house parked in your garage gnome where you keep all your your profile and your newspapers that you throw it out or this

"Chris ballots number one two pow. Let's go. Let's go tell us survey i if i'm supposed to reveal that you have to me now you feel about it. It's interesting that danny. And i have. Colbert and ballard flipped. Because i think i thought about it a live little bit differently in that. I don't think that i'm valuing like long term track record quite as much as which is totally legitimate. I think chris ballard had bigger problems to solve recently and has done a pretty good job of doing that. You know who also has some hesitation about carson. Once the colts you can tell by the fact that okay. They did not give up a elite level. Pick in this year's draft they will only give up. What would be a late first-rounder if once hands out unless i guess the worst case scenario for them is that he plays consistently like starts the whole season. But isn't that good because then some of the incentives would kick in. But it's pretty unlikely that even if he's mediocre to bad it's not going to have cost them an exorbitant. Amount for quarterbacks. I think the idea that like the colts absolutely think that carson wentz is going to be a surefire success. If that were true then they probably would have given up more for him. But i think one. It's obvious that ballard doesn't get caught up in situations where ends up bidding against himself. Because that's what would have been happening with if he'd been able to tell if the return for philly had been greater the twenty eighteen colts draft. I don't understand why it doesn't quite get. I don't think it's quite as good as the two thousand seventeen saints draft or something like that or some of those seahawks straps but when nelson darius leonard raden smith naim high and that is an unreal productive. Class that is one of the best draft classes in recent. Nfl history quite gets the shine that it deserves. But there's clearly a plan and then the biggest thing for me is that she was in a really really really tough position. The josh mcdaniels thing falls through andrew. Luck's retirement surprise. Retirement was one of the most seismic events in the last decade but it's multiple decades of the nfl and the fact that the colts have sort of smooth elite figured out how to remain relevant and competitive obviously will see this year through that i think is just the most impressive example of helming roster that i can think of right now. So that's why he's is that. I just think that he was thrown some tough tough breaks. He's number three cleaning up ryan. Grigson mess is not easy. But i would say that my number was number one in a second but the reason the my number one doesn't have problems to solve because he never creates those problems. But we'll get all right. I'm gonna do number six zero. Christmas didn't create the problems. No i no no. No i'm saying let's just handed the problem. I understand that. I'm saying that if you're there for twenty years and he never create a problem than you're doing something good okay so My number six is the defending champions journal manager jason life. Listen i get credit for tom. Brady coming to your franchise and seeing how good you are and doing. What was got operations. She will show or whatever people they will come. Bet defense nasty. The coaching staff is awesome. Drafting mike evans chris. Godwin alamar pet. I wore suits. You know who was awesome in his first year. Getting to come back to. That was more of a brady thing. you know it labonte. David was was basically the one guy he inherited Everybody else vida. I remember draft night. We this we did a draft show afterwards and there was some eye rolls that they passed on darwin. James will vita is an absolute game. Recor when he's healthy Devon white really good shaq barrett inspired signing. I think he he actually could be much higher on this list except to say that you know as far as great teams. It's only it's only been one you i'm with you. I have him at number five. If we want to jump right to that. Because yes. I do. I agree with you. I think you know obviously having. Tom brady is a big deal he he should get credit for signing tom brady. And it's funny. Because if you rewind three or four years. I think he was sort of on the hot seat and he's really turned around regardless he built a very good foundation and packed this team with depth and talent where to the point where brady come in and and steer it to a championship. You know what i mean. Get the guy saw believe so. I think he gets a lot of credit for building. What is a championship level team. And they were gonna probably compete for it again this year. Absolutely he hit it in all three phases like trades. Free agency draft I think you have to the reasons not hire for me is like you know. Basically what happened in time before the last couple of seasons where he's taking no. Sorry he's taking a roberto aguayo in the second round. Things like that like the bear meant just did not work for them The coaching hires were uninspired But i love the arians higher so all in all. I think he's a really good job. And this team looks really like set to be super bowl contender again this year. Maybe if not the favorite nor jason light number three for me if you love me at my roberto aguayo. You can't undeniably used to weird shit. But it's just an incredible accomplishment. There and i think it's underrated. How much of a how much that didn't just happen last season. That plan dates back several drafts and in particular i founded on one thing that i really like an gm which is the b- willingness to double up on need like you look at their twenty nineteen draft and they just went so heavy on coverage player. A lot of those defensive players became foundational for the team that just won the super bowl. And i like that. Because i think it's a combination of aggressiveness and humility. Because it's a general manager saying okay. We have a need here. We need to get better in this area also to a degree. the draft is a crap. Shoot and we're just gonna throw some darts at the dartboard. And i always have a lot of respect for that and it's really worked out for them. I mean that area. Also the willingness. To have mike evans still go. Add chris godwin and oj howard in the same draft. Like they've really one emphasized the passing game both offensively and defensively and shown a willingness to see anita and just attack it. Also tom brady all right. Light was danny's number. Five beach was nor is number five. We covered that number. Four guys. nora mickey loomis. Oh mickey women's Space time and financial currency bullet point number. One be twenty seventeen saints draft..

"Like wade phillips into brandon staley. There's a reason that the kind of i know sean. Mcvay name has has proliferated. It's because i figured out sort of cheat code on how to run offense effectively on. And i think the with brandon's daily saying that can work on both sides of the ball. So dan kelly and percents so real quick. I had rick spielman. So i basically agree with. Yeah everything that you said. On that. I think again i identify talent on both sides of the ball like he's got superstar players unbe sizeable And he's been pretty consistent about that. I i actually liked with you. I like the decision to sign. Kirk cousins I don't know. I think he gets credit. For hiring mike zimmer who is a good coach so yeah overall like i think he's done a really good job of making that team competitive. My number seventy john schneider. No i'm not a set about it. He was on my. He was on my cutlass. And i think it's just a reecey bias thing and i didn't want to sound like a total homer. I think he's a good jim. But i think he's had a tough patch. You get earned. Credit for having the best drafts of the decade started twenty nine and twenty twenty football. Outsiders did a study on that. And they said that the seahawks had an incredible return on picks routed everybody else ahead of dallas pittsburgh. The return versa capital. They said they got one hundred. Thirty five percent value picks. Now there are. Problems have had the seahawks as thirtieth in drafting first round picks at that point. But there's still hitting deacon metcalf was a a franchise rejuvenating pick on the opposite side of the ball He's one of the best receivers there. It so i think that that snyder is still good. Gm i think that you know. Do i think he's on some sort of hot streak like we talked about no. I don't think that if you just look at the big picture of his career everything's fine. Yeah i i agree with that. I think he said a few trades that fizzled jimmy. Graham trae the perc- harvard trade. Those didn't work out really in the. And i think the jury's still out on whether the jamal adams trade will be viewed as a success but I do appreciate that. He's in his big deal like his thing. They always says is creating early having a championship. Caliber team and the seahawks are always seemed to be very competitive. So like you have to respect that and the job he's done and making that roster competitive here in europe totally By the way. The forty niners giving fred warner a five year. Ninety five million dollar deal with. I think i think we all agree with that. Everyone's done seven right. Yup for six northern seattle. kevin colbert. So this is either going to be high. No he's high her saying okay. That would have shocked. He was not any less. I i again. This is another example. Of why i kind of have a little bit of recency bias. Going here consistency perennially. Good team perennially stacked roster particularly identifying defensive talent and then obviously shark with blood in the water if there is a half decent wide receiver to be had anywhere in the continental. Us probably the world. This one's fairly obvious to me. I mean i think the fact that in some areas covered has gotten a little bit more barren recently is probably why he's six and not like two on my list here by there are razor thin differences between the rankings here and these are all really really good executives. They also have they do some really good. I think solid contract structure stuff in pittsburgh shoe which i give him credit for. Definitely danny number seven. We're gonna get to colbert. Standing are both the at hobart later. Okay sounds good so much later roommates. So this is the six for me. Chris ballard of the colts who i think. Yeah he obviously is a very good eye for talent..

My mom was not a peripheral invite but it was very kind of them to include me so the two reasons i was really gung ho about going where i was psyched to be included. Really really really love the bride. Which is who we know about every other year like once. So i was psyched. I was on the list and then to orchid farm in santa barbara. I was kind of like yeah ten. I will say the one thing that was news to me was how short wedding ceremonies are the idea that you're you're seated for fifteen twenty minutes. That was news to me. I we were in for an for an hour. You know you got to get on with dancing and stuff race. I think that's great. I just i was. I was unaware so if we continue to talk about this we would spend the entire podcastone. Want everyone in the turkey question but nor wedding mailbag at some point. Let's move on it. Real quick ballpark. How many weddings have you been to think like. Oh god double digit into my own wedding double digits. i storrow. i'd have to count them up. But i certainly was when i was your age age. Yeah i just. I don't i honestly don't know what to say. Yeah speechless weddings. When you were like twenty five. I'm going to. I was going to your right. Yeah like your kids to me anyway. Okay all right let's just after. Were both until But let's do top ten. Gm so this was a nightmare for me. Because it's so much harder than coaches because we know we can say okay. If this coaching job was amazing. We know what's on field. What's off field and we can sort of divvy up credit. This to me was really hard. what do you do with a guy. I love like erica. Kosta okay we'll see a top ten. Gm we've only had a couple of dress ozzie. Newsome still the executive vice president. He still practices. i-iran. The texans had great. I i was going to study right over the past decade. The texans were one of the best. First round drafting teams became on the panthers. Right behind that. But like okay fine not only that but not only are they both teams bad now but those guys have been fired. The guys who did that show. There's just a lot of questions or danny when you're going through this exercise. What was the biggest sort of question you were asking yourself about top ten gm's well not till i completely spoil things but the biggest question for me was where to put bill belichick because he was if you should rank bill belichick right crack to rank or not to rain and we'll get to him on my list and you guys might be shocked at worry. Put it. But i think it's shocking. There's nothing shocking coming on this podcast effort relation seriously. Bill belichick has got to. Oh my gosh triple digits simple. I doubt it's triple digits. He doesn't have time for that. Nobody scheduled for it but anybody who knows him would invite him right right. I agree with that but you. It's hard to be just too difficult. You have to invite anybody who would like a bill a little bit. You have to invite bhopal. Jack the hat yeah. That's what i know. You have to see because also you get like even even if he sends a note or a gift or something. That's that's extraordinary. That's good so Danny what's up about football. Yeah yeah i mean. I think the the thing is like you said you can't separate very difficult to separate the gm from the coach and a lot of cases in belgium's casey's both the gm from like the cap management guru. The the the quarterback honestly is so important to how how well a gm is perceived. I believe and then also like i. I look at to like a lot of times. Gm's i think can get real hot in have like three or four picks hit in a season or whatever and you like all of a sudden. This guy's there is yeah. You wouldn't be talking about a janet's local to you which kelly so he's pretty. He's a pretty prime example. John schneider of drafting like four to five future hall of fame fame players within like two or three year stretch and then absolutely just sucking at drafting for the next eight years or whatever so i think it like that's an overstatement and i'm just i'm kind of like you know i'm too close to it. Obviously he's had some hits. Tk metcalf over the last few years. There's been some good. He's on my he's my. I'm i'm just saying like the thing that i had to think about when i was making my list is like i think time like matt matters so like i included a few guys that have been gm's for only a few years. I think what they've done is been impressive however you cannot like like doing this year over year over year over year over year is just so hard. There's so much so many variables. And i think that's why i tended to lean towards the guys that have been doing longer and longer track record because it's it's like picking stocks. It's like you can be good at for like two or three year period but can you do over a decade or longer Most people can't if anyone. Yeah maybe no one. Can you know what i mean. So that was. That was hard. I think i had to definitely you know. Look at the guys who've been doing it longer and there's so many questions you can ask yourself how much earn credits you get. If you draft one quarterback and then miss guys. i mean this was. I changed my order a million times. Nor before we get to your. What was the biggest question. You're asking yourself why you're doing exercise so two things. One was weather not to allow my list to be sort of a recency bias list which i ended up doing and just saying you know what i'm gonna focus more on last couple of years. I mean there's certainly examples where i gave credit for things that happened a long time ago and are still paying dividends or just paid so many that it it should count but ultimately i decided you know what i'm just.
