Delayed Umbilical Cord Clamping After Birth
"Before we dive into the interview with her, we're going to continue our little. Introduction. Birth plans series we've talked about preparing for your GB as test. We've talked about Bernie we've talked about all sorts of different things and today. I'm just going to touch on delayed cord clamping because it is something. So as a Dula. I started practicing in Vegas years ago, and at the time, not one provider would do it and it is something that is very beneficial for your children. And now more research is coming out saying that it is. Something that you should definitely consider putting in your birth plan and talking to your provider about so. According to. The. Pregnancy Association. It. Can Be very beneficial when he will allow the cord to. You don't clamp right away and you allow it to pulse for twenty five seconds up to five minutes after giving. Birth it allows blood to transfer from the placenta to the baby. Sometimes increasing the child's blood volume by up to a third there's tons of amazing iron stores in there. which is really good for healthy brain development also according to the a dot Org, which is the American College of obstetricians and gynecologists. It talks about how? DELETE UMBILICAL CORD clamping increases haemoglobin levels at birth in improved iron stores in the first several months of life, which may be very favorable for developmental outcomes. It can prevent NIMIA. A lot of kids can sometimes be Nimick in the first six months of life and with delayed cord clamping. Less and less, but with any decision you're making. It's also really important to know Not only benefits but the the potential risks and things like that. The only downside that they can see is that sometimes there is a small increase in John. Indus that might require therapy. In a certain group of infants. So there's the benefit of getting all that extra blood in iron stores and that helps with brain development and preventing anemia. But there is a very slight increase chance of having jaundice. So I can actually say in all my years practicing for anybody who has done it I have not seen jaundice case but I know that that research is out there that does back that. So as long as you have the information to. Make the best decision for yourself and for your family and have this conversation with your healthcare provider that to me I feel like is what counts I know that something that we're planning on doing it's a standard practice where. I am delivering so and we do touch on it. Next week a midwife is going to be on and she's going to just touch on it briefly, but I just wanted to go over the. So few are making your birth plan. Definitely look into delayed cord clamping I'm going to leave the links to these articles. In today's show

So congrats to future most of high off life starting some was actually driven by streaming tippety with sixteen thousand of its first week coming from album sales and those sales were largely driven by merchandise album. Bundles sold via futures web store. And also some signed albums that he was selling through the same store and unlike last week's number one album Now's good intentions. Which we talked about on last week's show which had one hundred merch bundles. Helping its first week. Future only had a handful relative handful. Just seventeen helping his first week so congrats to future and next week. It actually looks like another rap. Album could lead the list At least in terms of early forecasting it looks like Ghana's new album WANNA might start atop the list and if it does start at number one it would mark gunness first number one album. Would you call that a number one for Ghana a WANNA GONNA a one hundred WANNA on never mind? Oh boy. I like that album a great deal. Well let's talk about rain on me. Man. It came out last. Man who recorded Ahmaud Arbery shooting charged with murder
"The Georgia bureau of investigation has made a third arrest in the shooting of a mod armory he is the a black man who was shot dead while jogging in his neighborhood yesterday authorities charged William Bryan with felony murder he's a fifty year old man who filmed and later posted video capturing operates death earlier this month two other men Gregory McMichael and his son Travis were both charged with murder and aggravated assault they are being held in a Greene County jail CBS news digital journalist as Mitchell is joining us now to give us a few more details about the case in the latest information you were at the Georgia bureau of investigation's up press conference what did you learn there good morning and Murray one of the things that G. B. I. director Vic Reynolds pointed out is that in this case Brian is being charged with felony murder and that is because he was also being charged with committing a felony at the time that someone died that other felony is the intent to commit false imprisonment and he wouldn't speculate as to why we are seeing this just now happening two months more than two months after the actual death of Ahmad armory however he did point us to some warrants which we are expecting to get today and that will go into more of the facts of the case we do know that the G. B. I rated them in Michael's home earlier this week and then this arrest was made just yesterday so we are starting to put together these pieces we do know that there is more video that we have not seen and director Runnels would not say exactly what is in those videos but we're expecting to learn much more as things start to unfold such as he has Brian's arrest come as a surprise was a tornado's attorney had been pretty vocal about his client his client's innocence having nothing to do with it is calling himself it appeared on various networks including our own was a surprise I sat down with Kevin god William Roddy Brian and his fiance a couple weeks ago and they were adamant that they had nothing to do with this and that Roddy simply saw Ahmad running past and then the McMichael's chasing him in their truck and that's what prompted him to start recording this video and something very interesting happened because Kevin got has been very vocal as you said just yesterday he made a post on Facebook saying in part that we can expect to hear a big and no comment from him if we try to inquire further about anything and that he said if with all due respect if you continue to call for comment about the case I will not only block you but I will also delete all contact information not for you but for your entire news organization please don't make me do that and he made that on a public Facebook posts a couple hours before the arrest and then when the arrest was made two hours after the arrest he said he does not expect to be hosting any news conferences and he has hosted news conferences as late as ten PM over the past couple weeks can you just sort of talk a little bit about the video in the timeline and what it shows could because it was the release of this video the leak of the video that really was a turning point in this case so Ronnie Bryant recorded this video and turn it over to police as soon as the murder happened on February twenty third but the public didn't see it until three weeks ago three weeks ago a separate attorney from Brunswick who is not on retainer by anybody in this case released the video saying that he was hoping to clear his friends Gregory in Travis Nick Michael by doing so and it from there sparked protests across the country people have been running for a mod to show their support and their we've been in Brunswick for the past two weeks seeing protests and rallies outside of the courthouse demanding justice but that was really the catalyst for the attention and the GB I was brought in just days after that video was released to the public and that was on may fifth at the GB I started their investigation on may seventh they arrested the man Michaels and just yesterday they arrested righty
Man who recorded Ahmaud Arbery shooting charged with murder

How to Transfer Pokemon from Bank to Pokemon HOME
"The Nintendo attended the S dos. Go Online and sending ten years ago. Launched these other original web service called Pokemon Bank which is like the predecessor of pokemon in home. So what they were able to do now with pokemon home. They have fool compatibility with Pokemon Bank. They have restored the puck him among banks service which you can now use for thirty days for free if you want to transfer all year old pokemon you better hurry because in theory it's free for thirty days so you can get all those on the. Maybe you caught in the days of the Gamecube and through some steps and there's GonNa be. There's youtube videos that maybe there's one then the Mike Or putting the Mike as the link so please put in because it's so fascinating You can transfer them from the from the Gamecube the GPA from the GB later than intended the s from the nintendo Ds to the original Pokemon Bank service and from the banks service. You can go to the three eighty s which is the successor to the D. S.. And then from there you can put them in parliament home and from Buckingham home if you want to. You can transfer them into the switch games so what talking here. Four five generations of consoles that are there now have some basic form of transfer between them for pieces of data. Because if you think about it. The pokemon is essentially a piece of data with the code and some abilities. And like Doc. It's it's a piece of data that can travel in time from the days of the Cuban the all the way to parliament home now and I think it's just incredible that you can do these any. It's complicated it gets complicated. If you WanNa do this whole thing you will need cables and old original hardwood but you can do it and in fact I am doing it. I still have my gb in my Nintendo DS and the three D. S.. I don't have a key again cube but I was able for example to get a my Pikachu Mike from Pok Mon yellow so this is the the virtual console version version of pokemon yellow of course That I had on the three D. S. that Pichu is now in my book him on home and I can transfer to him on sword and shoe that AH see. You went from the Three D. at some three D. S.. There's a a Nintendo made these. Utd called pokey he transferred Hooky. Transfer is basic emulates. What the Diaz was doing it recognizes if you have virtual console games installed on your the device and it says okay? Do you WanNa take these from the virtual console games and you WANNA put them in Pokemon Bank and then from there you just do the bank to home transfer So I have to get my three s now. Get your free the download pokey thorough and poking and poking mom bank you can find them on the shop Buckingham Bank. You can use as for free for thirty days again and then you just go from there. It's it's really remarkable to hear and it's so unusual because you know most of the time Vegan again companies they don't care about backwards compatibility but this is like next level. I mean there are a lot of like the issues with this which isn't perfect right and people are upset about and like some ways of wild some ways I do actually do understand but but just the idea that this exists like we need to step back and realize how incredible is that Nintendo in the puck among company are enabling this kind of thing because it's wholly unnecessary but amazing so yeah and just to give you a frame of Reference Pokemon Coliseum which was intended Gamecube game came out in Europe and America in two thousand and four so that's a sixteen eighteen year old game that in theory I mean in practice you can if you have the proper equipment you can transfer data from that game all the way to your I phone with the with the home app or to your Nintendo switch which is frankly. It's just a remarkable technical

"Put Myself Self on the team. That's pushing for playoffs. excetera running for the end of the season and I'm finding out what's going to happen for me next season's if I was Andrews. Yeah it's tough. He's had injury problems and I'm just wondering whether he's in his mind carmelites season off. I mean the three months left to their season. I'll L. Rehab get myself back to get myself fully fit fully repaired and not risk further injury and whether he'll just sit recipes more. Hope is that this you know. Complete the cats and Devakula. The royals hasn't put him off planning in the love to see him back. In a reputable respected franchise next season slinky huge amount if the British basketball. Okay we're GONNA jump onto the next question now and we're GONNA have a look forward to the BB L. Trophy final so the semifinals semi finals have been aligned out fly against the catch drills eagles against the Phoenix Let's jump into that. I mean final I but for the main question is she want to jump into probably that will culminate with is the question to you is who are we going to see a trophy final. That's bad save. I've been any question side side so you got one. That has nothing to lose within Solan going up against a team. That's taken a hard loss within the COP. The united went into grind and feel like they have something to prove and they have the ability to revive wrong within Bristol. Then you've got the other side of the coin. You have a team looking to get back into silverware. Are they'd your comment. Last last week was the that's the first semifinal that like might in in how many is four years Yes for club that so dignified insist subpoena. They should that you wear a silver shirt for we got so much in the trophy cabinet and a going up against the teams where I don't no matter how many times you have to watch these these guys but it feels like have to have paper bag to brief for because it's absolutely exhausted watching how this team is able to operate and beat these bigger. The teams beat these teams together and win and they have no fear. So I think you've got four. You could have two teams that would dominate and take this very easily over two legs or you're going to see an absolute. I have no idea. Flip the coin action on both semi finals. It's a real. You've summed up you the position. These teams don't brilliantly that because they all have their own reasons for the flyers How important is it that they bounced back from the come on height to use the word but embarrassment was close at times? They read where the second thanks for the entire game and again they've got up an honest getting in front of their expected to win this guy for most new fans but anyone that knows the game and watches anything from Division One. Sullen kestrels Ohio. They aren't GonNa win everything this season. They'RE GONNA go in Division One probably unbeaten. I'm for the entire season scoop. Everything up plan out on the flip of that you know. We're not able to say who but by the sounded they're going to pick up additional import pledged just for these games. Yes because then now allowed. Because they're playing in a BB okay. Division One the only allow to imports. Now they move out for BBC competition and three this. I'm not even going to pick the winner between the flyers and the kestrels. I'd say the flies a slight favorites. Because they're going to be you know they're not gonNA have a new play coming in. It's going to have to jail quickly. that's a tough one. I think flies a slight favorites. Maybe flies in the Final Eagles Phoenix flip a coin. Eagles won both the group games the PB L. Cop then Phoenix hammered the eighteen eighteen. You call so I. If I'm honest I'm a neutral. This wanted to go. I want it to be a fire. Phoenix final. If I'm honest I'm sorry fans I'm sorry so fast because I think that that match up is probably going to be the most compelling to watch. If I'm completely honest I similar to what we thought. The flyers was to fund. It was going to be in Birmingham things going in second. Who would you like to Neko? Who Do you think's going to be the most interesting fun for the neutral? Mahatma is at the southern I started off with Jimmy when I was very young and they took me in with Bevin everybody so I've always got that haw and I love to see that Goliath story arc and both ways you get the story 'cause Nikos Absolutely join numerous against the running rebels. That are the Gods Cheshire Phoenix Right. Now so I would always done such a great job. They built the club as much as they candu and both sides of that coin as well as the same as Bristol. But I'm hopwood waistcoat with Matt and solar because the level has for the club. But DO I. Yeah I can do over two legs. Maybe it's a one off game for sure I think he's. He's he's talented enough to win. Both games or keep it close when the second leg away from home. He definitely won't fear that because that solid team has have the way to win. They they don't really do lose in it's not in their DNA. Tonight the moment and I don't really know how to you know if they do bring in that extra player is that GonNa Shake. It isn't GonNa make you know. Is he going to shake the pilots or visit. Is it make reason stronger. which would be a little bit more scary and a little? Something Bristol has to worry about but I can see on the day Bristol getting the upper bridge not by many but anything but my heart will always otherwise slightly routine soda on the other side of the coin. I think the speed maybe the speed the shot making ability and I don't think like gettys has signed. I don't think they said you know the only unpleasant I think. Come rock that team if he comes back and if he's back in time. We'll be glasgow that to punch with Fletcher and Glasgow. Actually it can actually overturn mockingbird etc as well as that Texan Cartwright's so. I think that they can turn that ability that they have to move the ball. The speed the Cheshire play but I can honestly see like you going down to it. Been Cheshire Bristol final and an absolute shoot out. The thing goes in you know on the flies Castro side like I said I've done have the emotional attachment you have. I think flies probably just have have the edge. They also have a massive motivation and appoint to prove right. That's another big one off the winning the COP. I'm thinking well. Maybe that bullet now maybe the civil air in the in the bag not so important I think flies probably just have the semi final on the other side of the Bracket Eagles Phoenix six. I fully the eagles team. They fully Phoenix team. But are you going to see. That are not sure you're going to you. Know and this this is where Phoenix ability to push teams to breaking point. You know they stretched too and harass you and and just shove you snap and I think Potanin. Yeah I think think potentially eagles might make that might get through on that but yeah. I'm certainly not going to put him on the on the Eagles famous game it should be an absolute wonderful game. I didn't I can actually win. Semifinals let me find was all this. That should be a good one looking at some of the fallout from the semifinals. I if flies were to lose to the KESTRELS. How much damage does that do to their season season? Is that an absolute soul destroy. Could that really knock him off a chance of. Maybe you know fooling out the playoff race. Even I think it will because it can actually be mental thing because even even if they go in and destroy them the this put themselves back in the position but they say makes them going easy and then then they start doubting themselves because they know they can't overcome the big hurdles. I think that could really you know. Put a cracking cracking foundation a little bit especially with the unit. That's on the floor floor. You see how easy it was in the final two although Bava them force them get them out there on rhythm. If it's if it's versity that's GonNa do that to hugh that's something that I ever. After overcoming perfect is a perfect example where they have to do because after play a lower division side so that pressure will always be there when there is no pressure. Technically you go into the skype so I think yes. It could really hurt them if they do lose it but if they win it and they move onto the final I wouldn't be. I wouldn't be surprised if they actually win the whole thing. I don't think that yeah. I think that might be the case for me a lot. WHOEVER COMES OUT THERE EAGLES PHOENIX semifinal? is potentially the favorite in the funnel. If I'm honest I it just seems a stronger side flipping it now to that slide Obviously Eagles wind be happy. How season's gone so far picked up another loss this weekend Y Name Worcester can be wrong. A lot of teams have been losing to Worcester. That's the shoe the with regards to the situation and semifinal if they don't make it through to find a pulse Phoenix does put some pressure on coach McLeod. Not Maybe for this season going forward. I mean the one thing you have to do. Debate Chester is play. Both ends of the floor. You can't let them scores ECON get get ripped The last couple of guidance Definitely been the case with Newcastle. They showed is too much easy. One past one show offense fatigues and that also comes down to what we do everyday practice to an allowing staff a built in so there is a focus point on the coach coach to be out to a justice. Because now you know if you've played them three times again you know what's coming at you. You know this dog another gritting ruggedness. You know you go to break down. You know you've go to probably deny monitor the ball for a long period of time. Try and get somebody else to school. Tried to play a different type of tempo with them or something in that you have to be very very very good on the pick and roll basketball like in the run. The God and I don't think the moment new causal even with the change change change. It keeps on happening the moment I don't think still concrete enough for me to say that actually locked into anything I know what you mean is A bit of a fluid situation for them Okay well that gives us the trophy final. The final question I want to jump on to is probably the biggest moment in British basketball history is coming coming up this week It could be the first time the GBI team ever actually qualified Olympic Games Unbelievable you know unbelievable unbelievable achievement. The GBI Women's team into the Olympic qualifying tournament in Serbia. This weekend so Thursday morning they face China Eleven. Am Korea AH eleven. Am on the Saturday and they finish off on Sunday seven. Am in the morning against Spain. question I have for you is how important is it for Gbi women to qualify for Tokyo twenty twenty massive GB women advocates. It's a an also. There's some point of view that she believes I can do this. This is well because not only just with the talent they have on that team but also the talent coming through. It could be massive and not just for women's basketball for Basketball General. This is no joke of a tournament that qualify in Florida. The best twelve teams in the world. Go into this one. It still as premier if you think about it in a League international sport that is the premier competition possible. Still was good as much as the world. Cup is coming into things because it is the best twelve teams in the in the in the world that go go at it. It's really big.

"Welcome to make him take him back again to wrestle with the big British possible questions of the week once again. I'm joined by Chris Chris. Hey Bob very very good We may have got. What's the end of free agency and the BB L.? Let's defense but this week's been a bit crazy So what about questions is going to jump into that. We're going to look forward to the trophy fallen. Oh I'm GONNA look on the international no seen as well as a big big week for British possible this week internationally But I with the cost of this free agency kind of chaos so it had in the last week or so the question go go for you Chris Saunders. Mba on neighbor which signing we'll have the biggest impact. It's all about potential. Isn't it with this one but I think straightaway knife is going to have the bigger impact in in Plymouth. Plymouth to just simply because even just watch well ee. You obviously did have a bigger impact finally WanNa get you the season for the first time in the league. He had a pretty big tax and he stopped taking that seven to one in really definitely. Did unsettled frazier lot. WHO's been killing this season so far but I think within the rosters and everything like that? He's he's the one that actually blends back in you know. They've got rid of Daniels in Johnson. I had the news maybe a little bit of a problem. You know you think about it. Not only just neither but the last sign in this well with US Smith they brings in now. You're looking for a better balanced. The Plymouth team that has more or experience is more into what Paul wants to do I think he more or less kind of completes an eight-man rotation within that I still think a little little bit. Look a little bit weak point opposition if she goes down. But there's definitely a guy that you can play from twenty thirty minutes and get consistency and a little little bit of structure together. Not so much often down Yoyo class. I in AD three. Maybe I think he's the one that said she going to make the biggest impact to settle down that team. Yeah I know what you mean. He's funny had the immediate impacts. Not only did they win a game. They won it on their worst road trip of the season. Where the head all the way up? Yes that's an absolute trip to making. Obviously they I imagine there's still fly up there. They used that for a fact with you tonight. I I agree with you. Think he's going to have a big impact. I also think is going to have a little bit of shakeup because for me Has Been kind of resting on his laurels. A little bit Now this arrival of of bumped him off the Stein Five. Suck him down on the bench. Do you think that's going to be a positive negative reply lockers. Fantasy GonNa step up or we expect in. That's going on settling. I'm thinking of a Google play for this league. If I think he always needs needs a coat co-partner to be very good. He had it last year as well. Hassuin plays very well. Don't get me wrong this thing you can do it all on his only needs to support in cost us so having neither around maybe taking him back off the bench and stuff like that is kind of an good for him just to reset and say okay. I don't need to try so hard. Don't I don't need to try and put the team on my shoulders and a half to his Nothing's really that comfortable. Doing that. Definitely needs other people around do that again. We'll come save a lot of experience. Experience within the League now is being in a few clubs. Also pulled before Bena Plymouth for four. So it's GonNa Jelly back into maybe some older times now because they do they do look so much better with him has signed together as well a Smith so he had to me. I think he will take it as a positive. I don't think you'll cross any fraction because let's face it if you go set six games games on the bounce that I've lost you know that's an unsettling feeling in its own so maybe having him on the floor they win. It's an adjustment straight away. Yeah I know what you mean. And then he took a plan is up to galls. Got Apply but it it felt. That's the best team they've had. Oh season yes you know what I mean which easy to say but it feels like there's more I still think they're a little bit like white in the back court. If it goes down engine engine again Paul that problems I still think they need Khanna reinforcements in the back. Court will wait and see jumping onto the other two guys that we talked about in the question so so under for a star for me again. It's not going to be the biggest impact because he's moving into a team. The has Talamo has a lot of injuries. At the moment for Newcastle I could see goose with a roster. They've got to actually being in the playoff fine With regards to that. juicing eagles a done now she thinks saunders is the los piece of the puzzle for them and it's just coming to get visas on this. You know what he does is he makes new causal even bigger as well in in size sizes stature. The finglas on this you know now that they definitely gonNA white probably for clause go 'cause they did make that move on Lucas that we were speculating on the week before. So or maybe Guinness definitely waiting for that fever south with him a helps them out because he can play without the ball in his hands and but on the other hand and this team has to find him the ball fund him with the Bulls at. He's that type of guy that can actually spread the floor. Keep keep the size imbalanced. He's he's he will do not come at short. He wouldn't be surprised. Sometimes he hits five or six in the guy is just the way new She used this thought. And there's still some you know waiting on for other players ever seen my diet. Just seems they could site that could have could have rusted win at all or they could just ended up teaching it out again. Yes south once. ECOZONE does only played limited minutes this weekend. The only played twelve minutes neighbor. Play thirty if you actually extract. Those numbers Out that he got he got five points four rebounds he's pretty much contribution. Exactly what Navy did down at Plymouth. That saunas brings new costs when the massive benefits. And you call so. He's he's excited. We talk about versatility because the issue they have is they have really strict plays. I've got about court players and guys up front court players and you've got you've got a slice likes gray area but not really I think. Saunas enables them to you. Know in real time switch to play maybe a bit bigger or smaller depending on how they want to things. That's a huge huge benefit that he brings kind of the final client within off three matthew. Brian Manning down sorry now interesting that they've made this move you've hit another huge move for them on one that we didn't see Tommy. They have lacked a big man room. Protect talked about in previous weeks. Therefore for is Brian Manning the kind of patriots coach is this. What you say that they need but is he the one that they need? I mean he demands a lot of attention on the floor of the floor stuff like this. Is he the guy that is willing to sat lynn and be able to impact where he it needs to impact if he is Dow. Because you know he's going to average over fifteen points a game Rebounds a game within this tide is going to open op. He's GonNa demand paint the pipe pressure which opens up the floor for shooters such a scholar why etc the game can get bit Lucifer. Him At the moment he's right there but it's you know sometimes when you look at the the right club to hits. Yeah yeah absolutely absolutely the has to be brought about it. You have to give the Guy Credit. He's very very good boss Latte but he also has to be in the situation and you're wondering tiny check some of the ego at the door. Yes I'm actually. Contribute to. The team plan is the plan from Crayon and again the other question I have. Is You know we talked about it. But they kind of did well. When they were the underdog status and they were starting to find some kind of rotational overbalanced? On how they're playing. The game sells the arrival. Brought them out in almost back to square one where they're trying to work out. What is vegetation and how they play the game? What's next exactly in the WE'RE GONNA go away from Satan to actually did work? WE'RE GONNA lose ourselves in ourselves because we're trying to give somebody the full more than we should do when she looking in the bigger picture. So it's a big big signing for them. I just hope it is the right way that they're trying to evolves that team but in some people jumped into quick some people go to these studied guy is and is it really what you need to be or do you need a couple of workhorses but definitely with him he is going to attract pressure in the paint. which will free up other people? It is just hard. Numbers will match up to what the what the expectations will be in his first game. Numbers are good ten points five rebounds two blocks twenty seven minutes of action. I again like I said. I think this is just one Kenny into a team ethos and to. What is the score just team now? You know. They've played that game up in Sheffield Without Taya personal personal situation. You had to deal with some serious hawks out to to that But I you put into the mix as well lost by five to Sheffield's does. Does this make them. Obviously it's a bit difficult for them to do this now because I've lost quite a few games but does this potentially push them into a toxic team. Does this make you know scorch is not lock is talking for the playoffs. His it could be a very. It's a very good luck to be into the playoffs. And it's also if they do get it right it. S A horrible team. They WANNA face number seven or eight if you're the top to the league because you know if they do this right it's only going to grow his impacts going to be more more and more okay just want to look at these replies. OC We've put them in the context of the teams. I've actually joined and said you know who's going to have the biggest impact on that team. If I was just to say okay you pay per now g. m. you'll to head coach which these who's who's I in your kind of signature if you're going to build a team from scratch the first name down for you on the line off. I'm we're in trouble. I mean trouble for Saunders will be the first to me. My reason being is just civility. You know what I mean. He's the kind of guy that COMPLA- probably pushing down to a to a plan to a full and I think that's a great way to stall you'll kind of roster build build. That's the rationale for me. I've been with me. You put the guy you want to work around especially in professional sports because you already as good as your best player you know and the first Italian happens because what happens because of him so your direction in your versatility always becomes because of the best player that you have on the floor Saunderson a neighbor have that versatility in both of them because they can bow stressful as they can both create mismatches. They can both play a defensive. HIVER matchy are so I think to me when you do. It's very weird for me seeing that. Sorry coming at this point bringing in a play with some stature and now it's because of recruitment bodies etc where he wants to be in the money's and before but sometimes bringing in that guy that everything should feed around at the middle of the the season can really disrupt it so. If I was starting with you I would away start with the bigger player and look into bringing bringing the spicy things to help. Help us out the other question. I've got I've got one final. It'll show now obviously a lot. The world's players announced signed in different places will make them move the one that I'm really interested in is Andrew Lawrence g think will say him sign in the BPL or is he going to sit. The rest of is the season or do you think he's looking to make lost last minute. Dash somewhere else for me. I I don't see a point of being back here unless you're if the injuries more than what it was or if you know if it's unstability can't get the court time I would stay here if not I would take a trade back if I was. Andrew Lords. Put Myself Self on the team. That's pushing for playoffs. excetera running for the end of the season and I'm finding out what's going to happen for me next season's if I was Andrews..

These Are The WORST Games of 2019
"The worst games of twenty nine thousand nine all right and definitive. This is definitive and we played any of them. You and I have played one of them. Okay Yeah I wonder if I've played any of them I know I haven't I bet which means I did. Good Yeah you chose wisely. That's true we put up an article on this This week the article was very specifically the worst reviewed games and it was based on the metacritic scores. Because the truth is allow. These games idea doesn't even review because if it's a game that no one's ever heard of it's not doing anyone much services say hey here's a game you've never heard of. It's really bad. That's a good way to not very useful information information. But there's some high profile games from high profile Delo developers and publishers like squaring and left alive. Whoa you remember that one? No and it's Square. Kleenex live weight in review. We did that one. Yeah okay so we're only talking about the ones. We reviewed. Okay well there might be one gender Eh. Critics gems Yeah this is actually our lowest score the year three point eight. Wow that's as low as we got got. Yeah that is a rare the score for us. Yeah let's have. Some people were interesting. Because it used the artist that used to work a metal gear so the art was sort of reminiscent of Medicare but Kulik Kulik pinky like kind of style. Yeah Okay in our view. Call The creek creaky and frustratingly broken mix of stealth action. That's just what you want. is frustrating frustrating stealth any game. That's the worst combination possible so three point eight is as low as got. It's been a long time since we've given out like a one. I looked. Yeah I think two thousand and five what was it. It was like Elf bowling but it was ever boy it was elbowing one and two one. One carts yeah. That's really when you what about like bowling was free as like a flash game that you played free. But you'd rather pay for it. You WanNa play on your Nintendo DS. At least a two. If there's two games in their oneplus exact maybe it was one zero or two point five. We were in a meeting where a pair told us there was zero given even out and we said what was it for immediately. Should the name of a hockey game that we've never heard of so. I don't know if it's true or not I want to say I don't know if I want to say it was a an Olympic game it was it was a hockey. We're all right. It's both of them. They re released that year is hockey game and the review is zero and it says when you make a new game will write a new review. Yeah it was just. It was last year's game with new box art which I think happened with Viva this year actually on switch. But that's in their the twenty legacy addition addition for that was a switch version and I Jeans Review. I think it was Simon reviewed. It said this honestly no genuine reason. I could give you to purchase fever. twenty-nine switch if you already own fee for nineteen on switch which we gave it a four and even nineteen was matic. Simon should have given it zero that wouldn't really reserves Zeros for like utterly broken. I can't barely low the game. I'm not confident. Giving his era wouldn't break something on energy. I if I were I would make it my goal to make a game that I would review and give zero two. So how would you so that you can get the Guinness World Record for quickest failure. Well I think the point it would be a lot of copies because it's bad that because we get attention women get attention because it got zero. I'm picking up with SAM. swigging down what. He's saying. Novelty like Munib on twitter. Actually broken game generally ignore Games we get us to review it the slap slap on like marvel on the title thanks Star Wars. And you just can't let expensive license and zero game. Sounds like a really bad journey an evil Virginia's that Evil billionaire genius. And that's exactly what it's been my time doing or if it came from a studio well-known studio that we typically review games from either they can throw all their money away and with crash bandicoot literally crash like it just crash crash. That's the only way to get zero. A Contra game came out this year a new Contra Game Longtime Damon forced me to play we did play it and play. We haven't talked since looks like we're talking to each other right now but I'm actually talking to Tina Justin only Samsung even in the room. It's weird record. Santana San Spread separately. So who do we play. Cj I think to the three players top down Contra game and to be Fair Contra has had top down segments before entre three the alien wars. Yeah but it's just it wasn't didn't feel like a contra game but it was like Okay Schutte top down thing gave it a four. That's not okay okay. It would be a sick Sam but but I didn't review it giving it a sick I play enough to review withhold judgment. It was pretty bad and it's just like honor consciousness in a very sad state of affairs over Konami right now so it's been a long running beloved game series. It hadn't seen a new entering a long time Hammond Hoof. That was not what people want. Can you imagine being the artists digital the metal gear art and then being like I'm out of here and getting your game review as a three point eight or do you think contras a good candidate for getting unlike the God of war style boot like take it very seriously. Lemur cinematography version just like lean into the seriousness of the character and like introspection inspection of his past bill and bringing all sorts bill. That's a good point. It's already a knockoff of Terminator Alien. Yeah so it's like like just maybe those franchises should make a game but I know alien have some pretty good speaking of all that this is a this is a tangent retake a strange corner I I just think new term bombed at the box office new Rambo bombed New Alien bombed last year or two years ago. I just wonder if like that. That's sort of the eighties. Installed your wells. Drying up or nine hundred installs franchises for very cheap and make a game that would get scored as zero journey. The silliest Yes yes exactly yet they did blade runner sadly also later honor which I thought was a good movie credible movie I loved that movie. Okay moving we on bad games worst games. WWE K twenty which has been pending? It's been bad for a long time to have a fever and w beyond there that are like that rejected by their audience is in that bad is really really crappy. Because as we're like the heights of their franchises either Games Assira could give that a four point three really really botched. WWe This year Mitchell. It's a buggy mess though buggy mess but his game play also feels notably worse than previous years. Remember this stretchy people running around doing so. I mean if you look at it as a comedy game. It's a nine awesome. See that's the thing if I had it for you that game aside from and not knowing anything about WB. I think it gets and pleasure out of it because it was just so stupid. Able there's vibrating through the ropes simulator. You Guys Know Avalanche Studios. What do they make you mad? Max and just 'cause yeah yeah they put out a game. This year called generation zero. No one knows that I know nobody knows that but it they put out a game and we gave it a four okay. I know it's crazy. You would think Max okay which is really good and just goes but they put out this generation zero game who've pretty bad and then there's Wolfenstein Wolfenstein Wolfenstein cyber pilots we didn't that's the VR game. We actually didn't review it but it has a fifty on metacritic in there. Much of the criticism is directed at It's a very short story. underwhelming comment combat in general lack of content. So it doesn't make everybody universally puke. nope is that would be a really cool. VR game another goal of mine all those people that play VR. And they're like Nah doesn't make me motion sick. I'll make in my next game. You want the badge for that. A terrible kind of a bad year for Wolfenstein youngblood didn't make much of an impact either. I didn't play it but I wanted to play it. I still want to play. That's that's impact. Can you believe the latest leisure suit. Larry the reviewed very well. It has a fifty if lead is Larry hasn't been good or popular appealed forever and had thirty years of games. Like how do you reconcile that. Who is making it an exchanging license and buying it and making more games? I just I don't get how it happened. I think it's the original guy critters. Don't make Larry Yeah. Speaking of Terminator there was a new terminator game called Terminator Resistance. We gave it a four. Don't remember that that might not just came out wrestling okay. What I was going to share leaser shoot suit? I can't say that leisure suit. Larry how did you just do that. And a lot of the original game had very body content and and so a to ensure that no kids played it. You had to answer trivia question when you booted the game up about that. Only adults would know what was the name of Presidents Reagan. President Reagan's Blah Blah Blah. Pretty good. I'm pretty good or like what were those jokes and Shrek that you didn't get when you were a kid that would be like. Yeah well you know whose voice of Donkey and Shrek where you can watch Shrek. Shrek on the gameboy advance. That's that was top of mind can watch it. Yeah Movie Gameboy. Advance video is a thing and it was striking another movie. That was two movies. He's on one cartridge. Maybe it was worse than trek. Yeah it was clearly. Yeah you're blowing my mind right now. Blew my mind that cart yes we we absolutely solution bag. Gb and it's not a game it's the movie is on only that but there was episodes of Nick toons shows and episodes of PLO. Come on and they were like thirty bucks for two episodes. They played on the kids. Like just 'cause there's laboratories on the size of a postage stamp uh-huh uh-huh isn't that crazy. That's crazy I never knew that. Yeah Super Interesting Oh crackdown three. That might be the most one of the most high-profile a high profile games on this list. We do it overall for but we gave the multiplayer component. Oh No I'm sorry. Overall got five the multiplayer four okay for my GM. Crackdown game. No crackdown was so good to not so good Shinmun three. That finally came out the one of the worst games this year. Five point nine now so just on the cop stats cusp of okay. Yeah Mediocre I think for five point nine nine runs down mediocre
Hundreds Protest Washington NFL Team Name in Minneapolis
"Taking a strategy I got involved because I thought it was so critical that we defeat a man who is actually review this country apart for USA radio news on Chris Barnes hundreds of protesters chanting we are not sure mascot have marched in Minneapolis against the Washington Redskins team name demonstrators rally to head of the Minnesota Vikings game against Washington the protestors called the team name racist and degrading to American Indians Minnesota lieutenant governor picky Flanagan told the crowd the mascot de humanizes our people Flanagan is a member of the white earth band of GB also speaking was U. "gb" Discussed on The Autosport Podcast
"Way here or the remnants of it and that will always welcome here though isn't it in person you mean spirited no. I think that it looks it looks really mixed. I think not necessarily going to be full on rate. I'm sorry take a bit of Baruch and going on from the soul over here. They need to leave the building agree with a ten year old. It's not difficult it's not I think the weather will be it will be one of those situations where you'll probably court and a heavy shower or you could be okay so that's just another thing to add into the mix but it's not quite the same as on tarmac but like we saw in Turkey. A real heavy shower can really affect your stage if you're caught in the wrong place but as well as the rain you know we've got tons on Saturday night last time that was in two three years ago. We saw a real big changes in terms of the folk coming down it goes. I think there's maybe that higher but it's very high folks a huge issue. There isn't it comes down yeah wants to do we ready can through to Campbell Elvin wish to go go. Oh yeah good point no. I think another challenge in GDP. We don't get many were nice stages anymore. True nights days default can really show who's WHO's up for the the fight in whose son is going to be a critical point in the championship for the three guys pushing him for the for the overall victory and for you know there's a handful of people that could win here. I think rallies and you you can kind of guess or not guess but you can have a strong feeling on who might do well but where it was always where it's really difficult to tell is. Alvin amongst those yeah of course I'm not even being biased. He's got former. He's he's won the event before in tricky conditions that year he wanted there was a nice stage that was incredibly foggy in came out and that was where we will worry thinking. You're going to drop all the time he's done a little hard to get this lead and he came out there and said it was one of the most difficult stages of his life to drive but it paid off but you have to take huge risks to be able to. Do you know this weather in this. This time of the year is going to be big challenge for for everyone. It is so much of this event is about conference. Isn't it an understanding the grip reading reading the road knowing and being able to commit to to what you can see because it changes from corner to corner so so dramatically in terms of of what you've got under the car but Alvin as got that you know and that's one of the things I've seen this year is okay. He's been out for the last three rallies but he's a different guy. Now you know he's got the experience and he's he's backed himself. Wasn't he really sold I in seventeen when he wouldn't I w round and now the self belief that an I agree it's very difficult for any driver to go wait for three rallies and comeback but on your home round where you've got that extra belief system was a real shame trail because he was a point where he was coming up to every rally and we were all thinking you know we can actually get podium necessarily saying we're GONNA win everything but we can get to me. We're in the fight for a good result in an interesting strong rally and then where this disappointment where he's at the missed three rallies and now you come back you get back into mind frame right. We need to be one hundred percent focused on this because we can do oh here and you know like you said in the conditions here pretty bespoke to this rally but at the same time izzy right ready to go we could increase annoyance million. We let him go and we can do. The actual departure live on alternate sports. Should we do that. I way Dr going out on your own guys. Are Are you going on your own. Do you know where you're going. Hey I you know I asked him. I asked Alvin earlier. What do you need. What's best. There is a perfect answer. I said what do you need to setup. You liked what he said darkness and he's just bang on July and he certainly wasn't the reason needs to be a mechanic is because so he insane now and just shout and what do you want to cause. He ain't going to get out. Well actually well. He's well waiting for him to go talk through rich waltz he actually. GonNa do what can it. How do you justina where's the adjustment in here so they can go pitch down yep. It's the main adjustment to be honest and they will be you can make some noise now but he'll be basically really wing uh so that's actually quite a tricky place to get out. Isn't it at the wrong by trying to know Jerry tone. I I won't be the pressure. That drive is good at taking instruction ought clearly so you mentioned earlier. the the championship three drivers. Tannock seventeen points ahead of Sebastian on J. WHO's thirteen points Terry novell where does reach maleness money Eh Australia who's going to win a tear. He's more than capable of winning a championship and but I think he has probably the hardest job left in the position now. This is not the most straightforward award. He's isn't the most straightforward because I said this is. Well you know in hindsight made it clear that they need to win the manufacturer to address it in some ways after different outlook. Maybe for the team team but for teary as just flat knacker is nothing to lose nothing to lose but you have to in fact if you didn't get a manufacturer point so an pressure should I of see that's been made Clay Andrea. They need to do well this so that's hard for him. That's another added challenge for him said. You should never underestimate said we've seen it before you know before Turkey. It looked like he was down now. In some ways he's bounced back with a win. Hold this whole thel hole this hole championship. Just something that's almost more interesting championship. Tell me about Oh gee I told you last week and we talked. GB and he said Saturday morning it was probably before tena had gone out but he said suddenly he realized he had to do. He had to push like how. What was it like because I was he was he was in your team. Was it like at that moment when he said this is. We've just got to go. You know what you WanNa hear because you know you drive up front and ready to go in and his instant thing thinking and saying something like that the whole not right right come on what is it now. We need to concentrate. We need to do this and you know he's somebody who can say that and you know he can back up what he's saying so I think when you have support kind of words that from a world champion you you do what you need to do and I think that's why you should never underestimate him because if he's focused in what he wants to do he can certainly do what he needs to do and and we shouldn't take him out in the championship battle. You shouldn't and I remember Sunday morning. There was a there was a real it was almost electric shook into place when we could see what he could do and you know going into that final day. Last year there were four drivers ten seconds or something and it was a huge fight right but then the one thing I keep going back to watch him. What you want is the last stage which of the past age and then great all aw Celestino Jay Gray all testicle. Actually I came here to do some media stuff on the way so I was listening to on the Radio Nick. There's no like watching what I was doing into Cox bonkers because I was like getting closer and closer and then I think Gary came through I yup and instead came through that through afterwards and they were like four point two seconds quicker. Whatever maybe the great. Let's do that in the cardiac. It come on we can do this. We can do this second runner this morning. Two point four seconds different stages to you know when you have someone that can do that fantastic so I mean that final run was just the across the cavs there was nothing left in in Iran round the gray the other night 'cause I should've could've come with you. Slay down and I just when you know how fast they've gone with the risk taken dates amazing to anything you know when you go and see a stage in in real life compared to on the telly. You realize quayle might they are and how how precise they are an asset. This I think is driving style thing in the last ten years. It's become a lot neater and a lot more different to how it used to be with with people throwing the cars ause around when you actually understand how precise they can be speed hold as this incredible yeah it is right. I think we're almost done. Is there any sign of Mr Malcolm Wilson as he landed. He was stuck in traffic. It doesn't like it doesn't how angry or he's quite happy because these miss this whole this whole. Shindig never stuck in traffic. Maybe he's in Burger King Binary Burger King on the guy is he really. Let's be honest. let let's finish with your prediction rally and championship who and who radio. I think tonic is going to be difficult difficult to be a now. I think regardless of radiation or whatever people may say you've seen under pressure this year he can just put times and if he needs to the are incredible nothing it has a trouble free run and he's got a real good. John's but I also think both of our remain costs have equally could at least be on the podium championship. I think thank you have to look at the where we are and tonic is probably the has the easiest job in terms of being consistent scoring points for the last three rallies like I said don't underestimate Sebastian now quite but I mean you've worked tonic for a few years. And how much would it mean to him. We saw him we will we shot movie. Didn't we AH TIME magazine to get insight into what this whole thing means to him. Last year was amazing and you know him very well. What would it mean. I think you mean everything. Take it every he's he's grown up and he's been through the serious up some serious down and safe and I think he will like anybody. WHO's driving wants to become a world challenge but I think he's changed. His person. In the last couple of years since she's left does still very very different. I you know I think direction of his career and if he wins one championship. Dow Ale couldn't win volume absolutely ability well. "A Elfyn Evans Hayden padden and spotting principal rich milner and many more so it's over to you David Hello and good evening from plan did note landed my do. I say that right did not yet. There's nothing worse than an English from trying to say Blanda Nerissa. Nothing was so welcome to 'em salt. What's Service Park we are here. This is also sports preview to run. AGP Wales Rally TV and joining me obviously is Elvin Evans former winner two years ago winner of this rally so welcome welcome home. Thanks always really nice to. It's obviously be backing unready on ready to to compete home. Obviously you know two three months ago. It was doubtful when I'd be back to be honest but obviously thankfully got the green light and obviously really happy to be an I mean it is. It's such a big deal isn't it. I mean missing. Three rallies is hard enough but the prospect of missing this one would really hurt. I think Colin onto size of the of the coin really no one obviously it's the whole family and you're too but secondly you know if you miss fall rallies and there's there's only two left in the year. You know you feel like you've made such a massive chunk. Then at least we have three rallies to together. TV Okay well. Let's jump straight in to rally. Gb I saw oh you on the on the record today at lunchtime and tell us about stages. How are they looking on the whole really really good to be honest. especially the Saturday stages are in exceptional conditions to be honest year-on-year. I think like it's the best route like dovey. especially is very very fast. Sunday stages while looking looking pretty good the first thing I think could be a little bit tricky. you know that first stage and Elsie is new everyone very technical and Nado stage so a bit of a different day for at least the start of a Friday. It's kind of Nice though isn't it very well. Elsie is a tricky. It's kind of a Parkland stage lots of much more technical twisty but then pay mcnew opens out and then you've got governor. Which is I mean? That's a classic isn't it doesn't yeah definitely is obviously slee a bit of a longer variation this again then what we had last year again really yep and then what can we what can we expect. We we saw you win two years ago an amazing victory. You know really emotional win at home. What's possible. Do you think from from you this time coming off the back of your last time you sat in the car competed Estonia in June July. Remember which what are you reckon. Let's here we go. We're doing everything we can to to do as well as we can. There's no set should have trying to bet ourselves in or anything like that way just trying to go for it and and see what happens obviously really nice to win again but obviously we know that you the competition is wholesome and everything has gone away but ultimately you have to aim for for that first place and it's upset with voting and it's kind of difficult than it because you're jumping back into the the middle of a massive championship fight. There's three guys at the front that are absolutely hammering tongs and two three weeks ago. They were doing in Turkey. Does that does that. Make could easy to jump back in or do you just forget that and just get on with what you're doing. I think we have to consider what we're doing. I detest ended last week and the feeling was pretty good uh-huh. Oh I think so long as we can find out with him and things early on then. There's no reason why we we can't fight yeah just one last question for me before vocal. Alvin has to go to satellites up. Who's firstly who's going to win the championship. I'm not going to bet against all right at the MOLINS. He's obviously very strong wrong all year but then step has this massive habit of making a comeback doesn't like it's. It's a difficult one to call. Obviously tell us right as well off any money. I probably have to put it on yeah okay now. We've got some questions from you. The readers watches viewers. Whatever Neil Perry has asked. What are the chances of a podium from your starting position? That's a pretty relevant question. Isn't your obviously a bit further down ninth on the road. Yeah I mean it depends on the conditions basically it it could work very much against as we've seen some years here whether the timesheets tumble by three or four seconds of every car that passes this. Is You know if that's the case then he's obviously going to be difficult but then last year we would also sat second overall starting at the back of the field after the first loop so you know we can't. Sir Assume that because we back that we're not going to be in with a shelter. We have to do the best job we can Let's see what happens at the end yeah okay with a nice stage and have ahead and have you been able to practice driving the dog. Yes money's not a huge amount but some training on the test the marshals were kind enough to to stay onto to let me do some driving so so yeah that was all good and hopefully we can get these set low. These lights set up correctly now than It should be okay but not there's a fascination during the duck yeah. It is a great one well you you mentioned you go off and set your lights up. Actually you're not going to do it right now because hopefully not not going to the call our but you've got a lot of stuff to crack on with Alvin. Thank you very much wish you all who is coming in now. I'm GonNa Switch Position Tame. We've got another Mike. Actually we're going to the MIC because we have been joined joy by Hayden pattern as well first question. We were just talking about hand dark stage on Saturday. Do they know how difficult table it's not with you. How difficult is it to drive staging dark. It's of course more difficult because you cannot shit at margin the long distance so you really need to draw to your base notes and on full more debase notes and that's it yeah we. I mean we've seen some really good performances from you in the past coming through the five car and and into the world car tell me about that step up from the Dr Five Wilco. How difficult is it almond event like this politics pretty big steps in to of course there's pretty good driver and the level of the early high but I will change. WFAN going all the states. He's on the limits and if you make some mistakes you can be in the next state cuts them. No No. It's not GonNa Happen and sorry sorry to say Hayden. You've taken that step in that direction. We'll card down to the five car but it's all a means to an end there isn't that the ultimate is to get back into a world. We'll rent a car next year but you tested the five car day. One actually really add to go back to the farm so so you know this weekend is really just getting smaller spec in the in the seat and I'm do some rallies again but Justin back to you know now era obviously it's a good base for the five of ca but when you get used to the the WC Kaffa so many years to come back to this is actually really really difficult. I mean that the era d-notice area much here on on this event l. a. a lot on the fast and you know not so much but day to here is generally quite fast stages and even though it's covered in mud still working a lot so you hit that benefit okay now you boys are going to do you like says well just before you go tell us about Australia. What can we expect from you obviously earn in and if he has to well rennick are in Australia what's possible. Do you think that wow just to go drive as fast McCain and enjoy it oversee when you've spent a year. LSAT lever which is going to be had the slot right back in the top obviously we want to be there but you've got to be realistic as well so just to be stroke became and going enjoy and do you think we can have whether there was good as this in. Australia really comes from New Zealand. You say I forgot about that and the quick prediction team where you're gonNA finish on Sunday six aw come on until three okay boy. You can do your lights. Thank you very much. We have missed a PETTUS. It's over four time all the time and how it but all of Pets Solberg they stemming correctly yep. We looked down that we can see facing camera. Cameras are there but that's what everybody else can say so. What should we start with. Who's compulsion before you take this enthused. You know I didn't have time. There's no time shave cooler with. Do you think does it. You don't have a bit but what Obama do. I look good site. Let's start with pass over four-time with all of this rally mixed emotions. I mean you've you kind of the farewell tour. We learned a lot about that this year but it's great to evacuate. GB isn't it well the these rallies. It's it's very special you know first of all you know to to have the first victory hair and it also renewed world championship will most racists here after a year and then they ruined last year didn't these actually it's terrible and then having. Phil Mill Sussex also local hero all these things together. It's is making this very very special you know and this is menu reasons why also and over tour hair in Rela Gbi It's a lot of pressure on you know to perform your phone for sure but we will do the best but also I mean above that you've got Oliver who we should move to all of our very briefly question Russian. It was a big week last week. Tell us tell us what happened last week. I've never been so nervous in my life. It can help you with the driving test. You know all the pressure going on already signed signed on for Wales almost trying to pass a driving test. I was very very nervous before but I made it on the second second time on the written test and then I what what do you think just we will move on from this very quickly. What do you remember the question that you got wrong. In theory. Can you can tell all of the all of the people who are watching out there. If you're in Sweden question with embarrassing because you can have the statistics after their correct on the environment I was correct on rules with the one thing I was wrong on. Will the car really thinks on the car. Yes arms and stuff seriously. That was embarrassing did you. You'd I didn't do us. Did you do a written test. Yeah the the written test that in my mind straight away your mom doesn't say after I remember I. I think I did straight away. You don't believe me but I shall. We never had these in England. We probably do now but anyway moving on. I JUST WANNA. I trust you how we've talked about the pressure the foul tool but you've also got Oliver here and you know your running behind Oliver. I'm not sure your fifty three three zero four yeah okay so I think he is. He looks looks like now at the State's Maria. You're in front. Oh me so yeah I you know I'm I'm very first of all. I'm hearing from own race for sure but I'm nervous service well. He's race and having to me I think flashing lights and they have to do the right thing. But how will it be either when you're when you sat behind a new watch him going to the stage because you have got three minutes maybe to focus on your own thing. Can you stop thinking about all of well I will do. You could raise myself to be honest with you about that. I haven't well. I'd I draw thirty days with over scarred last weekend and also made a new car for me to that the tested now on Monday online with forty-five case feel like you know to get the peso's in entrust them and really attack on it. You know it takes a liberal. I think repulsive.

Bodega, once dubbed ‘America’s most hated startup,’ has quietly raised millions
"We're actually going back in time to accompanied that you used to hate forgot about about and is now still here and maybe you'll hate it. I think that's the big question on my mind so I. I wrote a story this week about Bodega. Probably if you listen to this podcast you're paying attention to the news and twenty seventeen when this company but he launched they were they had essentially created a vending machine of the future on unmanned store sort of like a miniature Amazon. Go you walk up to the machine. Take what you want. Computer Vision knows what you're doing. Your credit cards already been authorized so it's very friction listen quick people had a big issue with their name. Bodega they claim amy knows culturally insensitive given the fact that maybe around the US particularly New York or run by immigrants and this was a company that was attempting to you know bite a big chunk ah their market in one swoop venture capital backing and if I were called her their logo was a cat exactly I mean Mimi and the old sense of nine idea that you know but David Cats are super cool and part of this culture and so I think people viewed viewed it as a theft and it was one of the most intense negative cycles of ever seen on twitter in a single. Although do you remember this launch do yeah it was quite something and I think there were a lot of VC's out there that were grateful at the time to not have been investors but what ended up happening is about ten months after this disaster disastrous launch. Giga announced that they had changed their name to stockwell so when that happened I think for one not that many people cared so people didn't really realize too it was less as a company that people were concerned with more the name so they changed their name and in between changing their name they raised a series a. That either wasn't announced. Her fell very much under the radar. I Mr I mean at a minimum. Yeah Norton amount of attention to that kind of part of the world's totally so then I was chatting with someone a couple of weeks ago and they had mentioned his company Stockwell and they were like yeah they've just gone backing from Google ventures. GB which I was intrigued by because I had not heard of the company it turns out that companies Bodega so I wrote a story this week kind of like going into all the money they raise a total of forty five million dollars which is a lot yeah forty five thirty five million dollars series B a big seven and a half ago and then the seat of two and a half wow so equals you you know something like forty five million so today. They've got a thousand of these things in apartment lobbies. I don't know I think college campuses mainly and perfect market for the sort of thing yeah and I people seem to be I mean I was expecting a response to the story of like we still hate this company but didn't really get

Medical marijuana now legal in Louisiana
"The Louisiana department of agriculture and forestry has announced that it is cleared the final medical marijuana product has passed all testing is is cleared for immediate release to the medical marijuana pharmacies and joining us on the line is Louisiana agriculture and forestry commissioner Mike straying to talk about this Mike welcome to the show hello no how are you doing today doing great doing great you guys announced that the marijuana tincture formulation is available now today Tuesday yes are we cleared the first batch of finals up final product in other words the product that's actually going to be patient last Thursday afternoon and so it is moving to patients but that started you know yesterday and of course the day it should be getting to the pharmacies and so you know we we clear that it did the final testing and we tested now we the first batch was forty seven hundred and sixty five units which in other words each vial has you know he is considered a unit and so that is on its way we expect our to clear the second batch which will be about forty three hundred units on the by Friday this Friday morning and so that's the timetable for that and of course there are successful and it is grown and processed in you know in the production and a batch system and so you know we've cleared it and what you know we don initially we tested the extract which we call the matrix but it's the extract and then the extract is then placed into a solution form and then we trusted that you know would you be SL Ellis you to look at THC concentrations CVT concentrations and also make sure that there weren't any contaminants and then the final solution we tested to make sure that the first bottle all the way to the forty seven hundred and sixty fifth bottle all the same so the whole genius and then we tested and certified the THC level the CD levels in them as well as to make sure that the or no bacterial contamination that you know what could have happened during the bottling process so we take in a sample random samples and then we you will open the vials we take those samples and when we run a battery of tests on them and the first batch we had we ran twenty five separate all units twenty five separate samples were tested and cleared and the second batch about twenty three that's all mathematical model that we use based on you know the the science laboratories of how many and how to do that but it's a random testing and so that they have cleared and the first batch as a matter of flavored the lecture and that product is should be and the date and the pharmacist my day I'm there's been much criticism about this process but this is what you expected in any type of liquid form of medicine that that hits you know that that is put into the stream of commerce correct well you know normally what we would call my list you don't look at the basic kind cable our legislation was passed in really June of twenty fifteen became a law in July of twenty fifteen in June of twenty sixteen so as we go full year I was sure I said I gave us written notice that their intent to be the licensee and on August twenty sixteen southern gave us a written statement that they again we're confirming that they were gonna be licenses production so they had the first right of refusal right and so he was in the fall of twenty seventeen that issue sign with GPS Alan southern sign with their first contractors they began Ellis you began building facilities are getting the building billing cycle sell these sorting all this out you know early in the spring of twenty eighteen and you know and just basically get out of the final facility bear horde facility wasn't finished no really until may or June of this year and so when you look at this you know where the this was done on the FDA it was taken eight to ten years the help from an election to final probably two to three years because clinical trials and really you have to stop when they look at when they started construction of buildings and just design a building coming sore from design construction harmony all of those things plus satisfying the state law as to suitability develop in their standard operating procedures you know putting the manufacturing facility yeah this is a growing marijuana in a in a hot house so this is making a pharmaceutical product that began in earnest in the spring of twenty eight so really in two years the under the state rules we've done what would have taken a katana under federal I think a lot of people really kind of you this is a cottage industry as though this was going to be a mom and pop kind of thing and when you have your facts and facilitate naps lately and I think you know that that was a misnomer from day one and it ended in I think there is actually good reason for because when you look into that other states there have been a number of batches that have been denied in other states for contaminants pesticides mold they have found all kinds of foreign substances there that and as a result the regulators had to reject the product right and so you know what we did we don't work very hard looking at what was going on in other states as well as good manufacturing practices are not only with marijuana but any type of pharmaceutical products so when you look at our first stage of testing we test the matrix and it is tested for things that we will have to look for heavy metals we test for pesticides I we test against for any type of Solomon improper books obstructions in a week that's from a variety of compounds you know in the initial product and then secondarily one week after that initial product is then processed into a solution then we test the THC levels of CVD levels also checking to make sure that no contaminants to there and then church here in the final stage you know we test our again to make sure that it's off that it's all the same reconfirm the THC MCV levels also check for salmonella E. coli east rolled my contractions those sorts of things so that when the patient opens it up we know that they have a safe product and you have to do this every step of the way because as as you know if you remember years ago when they were compounding injectable steroids and remember when they got contaminated how many people got sick from that yeah and well I mean we have to be very very very careful that that nothing leaves because you know I'm responsible along with the LSU GB sciences and southern and I layer of you know we're responsible to make sure that this product gets to the patient in a form that is not contaminated and about will not give out that will not harm them end up like this a base formulation this is something that it can be modified at the pharmacy level in different elixirs meaning as I notice in the article he said that the product can cost between ninety and two hundred dollars a bottle at the pharmacy depending on the formulation yes and so when you look at the the formulation here you know with the the first one with that there have is it's a T. H. C. rich one US one G. H. C. perceive the mother was a hundred fifty milligrams of each box and a bottle then they have a CVT rich twelve hundred milligrams a CD to sixty milligrams CH C. R. so then you know the pharmacist you know I'm a pharmacist has the option to modify this deluded compound or or whatever and the thing that we know is that you know different patients will will be affected differently and it comes on the disease state your trading so you have one you have the physicians and there are eighty seven I think positions as on record of oxygen that are allowed to make these recommendations they will make a recommendation to the pharmacist based on the concentration and the type of product that that they believe the patient needs and then the pharmacist will then you know make sure that's the formula that the patient needs and we do know from a lot of literature that they're you know especially in CH see if they have different effects on different patients and that's why you know specialist for off with a low dose and then you know work the way forward so you get the desired almost the pharmaceutical effect for the disease being treated same same strategy that's taken in a bunch of other different types of medicines the for treatments as well right absolutely and especially when you're dealing with this type of compound get out of the lower the dose is the better you know but what breeding a variety of diseases intractable pain on in college cases cancer HIV aka CAC feel seizure disorders epilepsy MS multiple sclerosis fastest of the severe muscle spasms Parkinson's Bacolod posttraumatic stress disorder autism spectrum disorder Crohn's disease and muscular dystrophy and it is and as a regular looking at directly at eighty four doctors that are able to recommend Mike when so Dick have we studied whether or not there's going to be enough supply for the demand well the initial discussions we had it you know what and again the board of pharmacy was to try to calculate how much plant matter we need that will make the amount of in the pharmaceutical use we would need based on the disease states that would being treated and that being said that's what the initial discussions of size and scope came about now since then of course and contents with that legislatures you see is adding additional on diseases that can be treated and so what where we're at now I wish you is in the production system they are processing and its batch process we will expect to clear again a second batch for distribution to the pharmacist our Friday morning Friday of this week that'd be about forty three hundred doses and then very shortly there after it in a short period of time they will have more batches that will be available again to the public at the same time southern is coming on line several weeks ago they planted there first you know seeds and of course they are ramping up rapidly and by this fall we expect of southern will have on the server products on the street and so it really depends on you know how many patients come to the pharmacy is that what you know how many people will buy the product what the effect will be by the patient find the products you as to the fact on their particular disease condition that they're trading and then I you know if if everything is successful then we would expect that the man would grow and they will have to increase production I own a ongoing basis to meet that demand and we're not we're not aware of in the commercial insurance that actually covers this treatment yet our our our week as far as I know there is no commercial insurance that will cover this because it is not and after the A. regulated drug under the state under the state and so that will probably be a discussion that we were here in the state legislature this year I'm sure we will have that discussion as well also as you know this is right now is in any election reform and the legislature did pass on some law that would allow for eighty eight metered dose inhaler that's not a thing that's not smoking it's one of the compound is placed into an inhaler similar to what you have for delivery of medicines for asthma or other type of you know the diseases and the reason for that is that you can get a more rapid response in the southern alternative delivery system our versus having to take it all away right final thoughts Mike well you know we're all been working hard we can continue to work hard at this point we have to make sure that the production system stays in place we're trying to get LSU and southern both at full production and everyone has worked very hard to get this in place also that they'll be no doctor shopping because there is a reporting mechanism were also keeping records on the effect of the drugs as well if there are any type of country indications and that is gonna be studied by the board of medical examiners the board of pharmacy my office and you know the other medical professionals well thank you for the update we really appreciate it and I know there are a lot of people that are excited about having this opportunity in order the treat those listed ailments as you so adequately were able to recount far better than I would have but I can tell you and we thank you for your

Sharks as big as a bus seen off California after 30-year hiatus
"And it's enough to give you case the he GB's sharks the size of a small bus. But these critters aren't the kind that gave you nightmares after watching jaws. They're called basking sharks. And they're known as gentle giants they can run anywhere from eighteen to thirty feet long. They disappeared decades ago from the Costa, southern California, but they've been making a comeback this spring, a number of sightings have been reported off of Ventura and Santa Monica bay and Ventura County star reports that one company that varies passengers to the Channel Islands says it's been seeing about twenty basking sharks a

"Thank you very much for having me sir. Thanks for coming on so let's begin with how you how you got into curling so the story around the rink is that you and your family showed up the first day. The rink opened opened and that's when you tried curling for the first time is that true exactly more or less one of the first open days. I think that they had which was just after the two thousand awesome full Winter Olympics where team. Gb won the gold medal in the women's and just full by Bannon I and also older brother to the to the ring can Fenton's and Ken and we started playing there in the sort if beginning sessions and then moved on into the junior leagues or the junior clubs off that when did you start Dr playing so. Do you start. You said you started joined US junior club so what was junior curling like in England when you started to be honest. It's such a long time ago now. I remember too much about it but you know there. Wasn't that many players. I don't think it was an from by John Brown who is has been the secretary the tree of the authority competitions convener and president of the owner of the number of years Ondo Stephen Hindes who's played a little of kiling England. Sorry are remember them both coaching us but in general you know it was a very sort of the beginnings of I am calling in England so there wasn't much expertise in the junior ranks we just had sort of more experienced colleagues is sort of from Scotland or Canada experts to learn from and so did you just put together a team and enter as the England junior your team to to go play in the European curling championship or how did you get into the more competitive side of the game. We played for maybe two or three years and the coaches said we'll England. Don't have juniors team. Do you want to put a team. In so it was a case of grabbing full females tales about the might've been five of us and grabbing five females he pay to under the age of twenty one and putting in a team then we go absolutely thrash crash the first two years we played genius which was well not that good but also of course some kind of bug in us. I guess to keep them playing and try to get better and I think with Ben. He didn't have a sort of team of full boys into into little a little bit later but yet as junior women we we played. I think I paid four G. for juniors and it was really encouraging to see that she off dry aged out the team played with for years and went on to go to championships which was a a real testament to the progression in English kiling that sort of period and so when you aged out what made you decide to keep with kind of the competitive side of the game and how did you form a competitive women's team so I mean I I played with Hetty gagnaire. Naomi Robinson and Lauren piss pretty much from the beginning and as she she reaches genuinely really enjoyed playing together and we knew that we had a good sort of team able to keep continuing to get better so we wanted to play women's because that was a natural progression for us so we entered the English championships and we won the first year. We ended but we did one. I'm second year and then went off to Stavanger today for the European women's European Championships in the B. Grape and actually measured in the office which again was of a sort of encourages you to keep playing when when you perform well I guess yeah and so then. When did you try mixed doubles for the first time so I actually used to pay mixed doubles. Hi couldn't tell you what your assaulted playing but back in the old rose and I actually played with my older brother Sam Festival and we end to English championships chips a few times and in the end I was playing again with another partner not with Ben and then Ben One English Championships in twenty twelve and I went as a substitute to the championships of him and that sort of started off are connects doubles career together. I guess so what did you like about the mixed doubles format as opposed to the more traditional foreperson format of the game. I I really love about the full. Matt first thing is. It's actually very short fun. Ted Ends can be a real L. Drag especially when there's a little blind tens involved and you know instead of paying three hours time you're paying you know an hour and a half an hour and forty five minutes. Let's and there's just so many stones in play so you have to be ready. Tactical player is precision shops and you get a say in a of different aspects of it so there you specialize in your position as you would do in the foreperson game you get to be involved and have ownership ownership for probably a lot more than you you would you know in the past game and that's what I really really like about him so how'd defined strategy different with mixed doubles so it's a lot more aggressive obviously there's two stones placed already whereas you don't have any place in in full passing. Carling and so immediately it sort of drags play down into the into the full area and so you know you call a freeze on a on a regular basis as a normal shirt whereas that would probably be seen as potential but more risky in a full passing in game so you you do have more precision show than you probably take a little bit more risk as well because you know that anything can happen you know having the hammer also oh sorry not having the hammer in the first end does not mean that you will lose the game or have a high of losing the game like it would be in men's curling for example. Uh and I really like that yeah so I've got a question for you. I haven't played as much as you obviously but when we're playing in the English championships this here I think one of the things we noticed early on was that you really have to get shot right away. Whereas under conventional curling rolling you often try to build up end and they kind of ignore shot rock but it almost feels like there's a race for short you find that kind of your experience. That's true as well or I I guess so. We'll see if you if you don't have the hammer and you're trying to do state or a fool saddened playing right down onto the back of the PL- play stone is a good shot for trying to shrink the scoring area and giving your position a hard time and then if you obviously do you want to try and create a bit more space so you've got an option to school more than one with the Hamma among but yeah I mean you have a lot less stones. I guess you kind of need to get to the point a little bit quicker than you know. In Full Oh passing cutting eight stones at take. You need to go a little bit more of a roundabout way to get to the end goal. I guess yeah so the other thing that came up as I remember when we were done with the the final J. John Brown who for everyone who's not in English curling. He's kind of I call the godfather of English curling because he knows everything follows all the stats he came up to right after the game and said you are the only team who didn't talking about us our partnership we only team. You didn't use the power play our weekend. Why is that and quite frankly. We didn't didn't really understand the power play so we just decided to set it aside unless we needed a last band but the power play is probably the newest addition to mixed doubles and so how being used more as an offensive option or as a defensive option primarily at the competitive level a little bit of both. I guess probably more offensive in terms of you know. It's getting towards the end of the game. The the chances are most teams will score to on that power play so if you know that you have a strategy that might give you a chance to get a three then that can really kill off the game also if you've got. 'em Say you know you're you're quite far ahead in the game. You can use a little bit earlier and try and kill the game off. If you know that you've we've got the line around the corner. Gods and you might be able to score a couple you know three in it's kind of guaranteed. It could be quite helpful thing in the last end because you don't have a central garden play that for you know you more likely to be able to score award if it's just a one that you need with the hammer so kind of setup for you or perhaps if you needed to with how you going to go one place and God it so I think a little bit of both but probably more offensively but it definitely adds a new dimension to the game when you know the power play to come and you know that if you practicing practicing alot of different strategies to defend defend it well to make sure you your position only one example it can be pretty good weapon in something that separates separates the teams yes so. Have you noticed I've noticed. I'm wondering what your thought is because you're you're on tour here. Is that since the Olympics last year it seems like a lot more what call elite four person player something here people like John John Schuster and a Hassle Berg would you saw Wah have entered mixed doubles and the mixed doubles World Championship with the intention of winning so do you think there's been a big shift since the Olympics last year in terms of the caliber of players entering and how many people are pursuing the mixed doubles at the at the kind of competitive world level yeah I think so I mean obviously with Johnny Morrison and Caitlyn laws not necessarily mixed doubles specialist players but at Olympics and winning was quite a good message to a low of other teams and players. This is another Olympic gold-medal that is up for grabs so you know why would you not have have ago. I guess is positive is definitely positive for discipline because it it means that is getting a little bit more attention and it's kind of bringing the the quality of the players as well. I guess if you've got plays who able tissue eighteen ninety percent consistently however get your tactics you're probably going to be putting yourself in a pretty good position to win games uh-huh so yeah it's definitely. I think it's really positive to see these players adopting the discipline but I was thinking that there is definitely an argument facet of mixed doubles specialism and saying that from for example Morris in Canada and I'm sure we'll see ah Communist Morris while going forwards yes so what do you think the advantages are because you and ben this year at least a focused entirely on mixed doubles roles. Doing the mixed doubles tour kind of gearing up for the world championship that way but and that seems to be in general team. GB strategy that the two Scottish rush teams in the program also are focusing entirely on mixed doubles but a lot of other countries seem to have gone with call the Canadian strategy which is Kinda grab top players in the foreperson game and drop them into mixed doubles late in the season. So what do you think the advantages are of focusing solely on mixed doubles for a season. I think there are lots of advantages like as in four person colleague you do specialize in your position in the different types of shorts that you have to play and I think that as an argument full you know that being really advantageous and also I think strategy wise oversee the more times you see a situation and play out the more experienced. You're GONNA be kind of executing that in big it competition so I do think that there are clear advantages of having mixed doubles players. You Know Solo mixed doubles but I I you know it's the same comes back to the same argument even if you make all the right decisions but don't you played sixty five percent seventy percent for example putting your shooting against your eighty ninety. You're probably not going to win the game so you still have to have while clause players but with the sort of a edge in terms of tactical ability. I think that is really important as well..

"So. Have you tried to Fowler's. Get confessional now. So we send I spent a lot of time talking talking about this right. At least there's a really good shooter and kind of play with a key player of that caliber and we just said are posted. This is going to have to be an execution acution. Type Bondsteel for us is going to have to shoot our opponents. Woo had to learn some of the nuances as we played our way to the tournament to be the honest. WOSHAH game simply because we didn't see a double that we left her opponent like that's that's one of the tricks with doubles is their summary Rocks in play. There's so many wingels that you can actually just miss something pretty obvious we just lost an. Ez say an easy to win. We'd love to make double and we didn't even see it until our opponent called it. So that's part of a nuance I learned pretty quickly on whereas in traditional curling I think loosener both of the philosophy that you kind of try to build it in you. Don't necessarily have to be holding shot rock early. In an end in fact it can be advantageous to not hold shot rock and kind of set your stones ends up in good position in mixed doubles. If you're not shot or how to very easy shot to get shot you're in trouble really quickly. That's part of it and then there's a lot of warrants in terms of sweep when you have a person in the head calling line and kind of lean something to do onces of throwing a stone hopping up sweeping and kind of catching up with the stone which has its own trips to it too so I think all of those things out a bit of nuance and we're talking about kind of level curling hadn't people who are specialized skills overturn or probably GonNa get the advantage when it's everything else being equal so to speak Canada's kind of an interesting bind where the mixed doubles Gayoom isn't really all that popular yet and they don't really have many teams James yet that are mixed doubles specialist. I so Canada's bet was they would try to persuade their best shooters to kind of pick up mixed on the side. It pulled off last cycle. I'm I'm not convinced it's GonNa pay off next cycle art so getting back to the championship. It's going to be pool play in fact there's six pools the US this is in a group with Spain Greece co-ceo Latvia Poland Russia and Slovenia. They aren't a group with probably one of the favorites in Russia. Good News than it also speaks to the growth of mixed doubles is a lot of their games are. GonNa be live on Olympic channel and it looks like a few of them are even going to be available on NBC sports network so you'll be able to follow team USA as they try the bring home medal from the mixed doubles championship. I assume T S in will be airing games as well as Canada actually in probably the toughest group in this field their pool includes Japan Pan in Sweden as well as Belarus Denmark Hong Kong Romania and the Ukraine so being in a group with Japan and Sweden. I mean mean there's a there's a remarkable amount of curling talent in that pool considering that there's there's forty eight teams in this event united so it'll be seated off. That's actually tough for Canada right because only three teams get out of that pool and you and what you have to get a chance of qualifying for next year's World Championship Championship so actually be a little bit of an interesting week there although I can't imagine Canada even if they somehow got relegated to the B group next year wouldn't make it out of the group next year. Maybe not but you you've got the rent figure carnitine. You're going to send the B group. That's an extra income and you're. GonNa burn with some elite players going there and especially in a year which actually does start to count for things like C. T. R. S. points in Canada and Olympic the qualification points. It would be kind of a bit of trouble for Canada there so it's it. I'd I'd be surprised that got into the group because I've got a good team but is he said Japan. Sweden living will be tough and then countries like Denmark is could could be kind of tension banana peels. We've seen in the past so you know depends on a mixed doubles is to be honest. It's a bit more random in terms of the outcome. Oh yes a random end of number generator yeah. It's you know giving up a five. You can confide very easily. You're the five will earn very easily which is going to happen in traditional curling at this level but certainly kind of mixed outdoors he'd give it a five bagger still had a chance to win. I think we saw we saw that wins gasoline and never gotten one. They're your World Cup leg. They were down five nothing after the first into pray in Rio S- in Korean Rios. I don't think scored again the rest the rest of that game. If you can get someone who can kind of get your stones locked in end after ending get steel steel steel roll thing you can definitely do that so it's it's random enough that if I was just out in charge of mixed doubles I would a remote improving until Kansas through the group face and I guess it gets to the last point before we get into your interview with Anna. She in been are mixed. Doubles specialists the other way that that kind of maybe becomes advantageous. Is You know we're getting to the point where we have fixture congestion we've kind of talked about that before but authors with with the Curling World Cup and the slams and now you throw in mixed doubles you know there's not a lot of downtime for these teams teams in its go go go and the question is how do you fit mixed doubles into your schedule. If you're someone trying to vote and I'll be curious how many of these teams like I'll be curious about whether the hassle boiled eggs and the stirs are doing mixed doubles throughout the cycle or in this case they kinda a jumped national championships because there's an open we can happen to win and take a chance to go to world's world championship when it provides itself or teams are going to be people ultra dropkin. Anderson who eventually save our best path to the Olympics in twenty twenty two mixed doubles so though decide to put the energies into that and Kinda back off the the traditional curling for the rest of the cycle yeah. It's a it's a new landscape with a new Olympic program in a new way to to get to the Olympics in curling so that it's Gonna I think it's going to be an ever revolving thing and I think that this particular quad quad is I think as we get to the end of this quad will start seeing the way curling May We've mixed doubles into into its standard schedule. I think we'll have it figured out by the end of this quad and then we'll have something kind of standardized as to what teams are going to do going forward once we start looking at twenty twenty six yeah for sure. I I'm curious what will happen I. I'm wondering if at some point we ended up seeing mixed doubles added a grand slam of curling or juniors. There's no mixed doubles junior program that I'm aware of. I'd be interested to see how soon that what happens. I know I think I think I saw where curling candidate did kind of a a mixed doubles. Championship ish thing when they had the Canadian Juniors this last time around but it wasn't I don't. I don't know the way they did. It was kind of odd. It's kind of it was kind of thrown together. It seemed like yeah so it's true they didn't have a bit of soliciting called the Youth Olympic Games where they actually send mixed teams breath up into mixed doubles teams with people from other countries that are eliminated early on and that's probably try to sell mixed doubles bother. WC after some of the incoming juniors but there's not really me opportunities for juniors to try mixed doubles so that's kind of interesting question. There is actually eventually develop a mixed extols junior championship. Will there be there is now a cash spiel circuit scientists kind of trapped by the world tour but will there be. Illu levels mixed doubles also vents. There was a big big Bonfield at John. Moores hosted out in the San Morale Berta car back in January and I was cleaning attempt to make it it is applying the kind of slam quality teams as well as a lot of the elite mixed doubles teams in the world and it's interesting to see. I think it's David was interesting especially with John Morris. He's clearly this year taking on the role or museum Bassett or for the mixed doubles format that he hasn't opted to go back to men's curling. I wouldn't say he's really gunning for a mixed doubles anymore but he started implanting schedule changing up as partners but also kind of trying to use his profile a profile that discipline if you will as far as the world championship goes I mean mixed doubles is just such a crapshoot crapshoot. I don't think it's actually worth it to make pick but I'll give a team to watch. I'll say I'll say team Estonia. That's my that's my team to watch is kind of a the country. That may be a curling outsider that I think might surprise people at this tournament. I'll put the followers because I've got back in the England program involved in it I mean I think there was created to qualify top sixteen. They've got a good shot at that and once you're in the knockout phase days anything can happen. I think in terms of favorites I'm GonNa go with Norway as kind of my pick to to win it all this year right. If if you're GONNA make me take I'll take Russia. I'll take Russia's my winter all right. That's a good pick to I'd say right so let's get onto your interview with Anna Fowler and again we think and for taking the time to talk to talk with Jonathan Talk with the podcast she'll give you a lot more insight into this event in into preparing for a a international level mixed doubles competition so so here's is Jonathan along with NFL from team England so I'm joined today by Anna Fowler whose one half of the team England mixed doubles squad. She's also a member of team. Gb Squad she's representing many times international competition so she skipped the the England women's team in two thousand thirteen fourteen twenty fifteen and twenty sixteen at the European curling championships. She also played on the England squad in twenty eleven her brother. Ben Who is the other part of the other kind of her partner on the team. played an England men's team in two thousand Fourteen Twenty fifteen twenty sixteen and twenty seven team together. They've been playing mixed doubles the last seven years. They're currently ranked at least fourteenth on the world curling tour mixed doubles standings they finished eight at the two thousand Sixteen World Mixed Doubles Championship and they represented England and mixed doubles at Twenty Inch Twenty Twenty Two thousand fifteen twenty sixteen twenty seventeen and and Anna played last time Yankee while Ben was finishing his university studies so join me today to talk a little bit about mixed doubles in advance the world mixed doubles championship and a little bit about her Kinda history in the game and her background so anna welcome to the podcast..

"Technology has changed the dynamic of people thought. So when you eight GB truly going HEB to get what you gotta get leave, I worried about. But I think because we're just so focused on the way we would communicate and how worried we are at how we will pick up somebody and some guys that are quiet. He's a good guy. Yeah, good guy when other friends knows him has known him for a couple years and she's key is nice. He's a good guy, and I would have missed the opportunity if you wouldn't have kept following up. So it's a. It's consistent, and I think it's something for ladies. Maybe consider wherever guys just saying Hello, he seems nervous. Maybe he built a lot of courage to say Hello to you and thought you should give him give him. I mean, I mean, it's people some space. Give them give them some time. Yeah, may not have dated for a while. Right? He's been out of game for awhile. There are a lot of cats may have been dated, married, divorced, and now they're trying to get back into the game, and then they. But even out of it for a long time, like how do this. Hi useful drinks and I'm at a white linen party. He was turning up in his mind. Yeah, he won in his mind. Yes, yeah. Well, he did win with you. Thank you. What you don't fuck it up to him. You sound like you know her? He's definitely talking about me. I don't know. I'm definitely. He said I, I am trying to help a a little bit more nice and empathetic I, I'll, she says this based off my interaction with other people, but no one here has seen him relationship. That's true. And there's a reason why I can't stay friends with all of my Ed says, okay, I agree with that. There's a reasoning. I kill it as a girlfriend. At the time I'm their girlfriend. But she also makes them work really hard before they are her boyfriend, which I think that that's a, you know, you put in the work to figure out who they are and then when you decide that you like them, then you all in. I'm in. And yeah. Are you going to bring up that went on that other date with other dude? Yeah. What's gonna. Okay. I you want to know are taught about it. I went on a date. Oh boy. It's the same height as him. I, I'm not mood up. So it was maybe a couple of days later went to prohibition creamery, which if you're in Austin, you haven't been. It's an ice cream place that are their ice creams infused with alcohol, and they also have a bar nice mid streets. So it's really very casual. Okay. I'm having just pour the rest of the vodka, so the handles empty. That's how this night's gonna go sore. Okay. Clear. Did. I went out with him. I met him on bumble. And he was about my height. He your short woman, though. I'm five. Seven and a half. Okay. That's the average height of one man. I think. Someone Google that. No, I know. I know. You're right. I don't want anyone to this could be making. No, he's right different though. If you're five to and your dating somebody that's five, seven it. Then if you're five, seven and your dating somebody that's five. Seven. And his frame was a little bit small. Well, he was. He was nine. Tale. I'm trying. Mr. weather. I'm trying. Hey, once little. He was a smaller frame. Gentleman, we have good conversation. Oh God..

"In twenty thirty so to put in context full fifty six zero by translates to forty iphones which is what sixty four gb poran jobs that's huge in terms of the data that's being generated let's just step back a little bit i mean it's it's great to to sort of think about we're all going to have the equivalent of eight hundred forty iphones capacity and our pocket but if we talk about the market you look at amazon microsoft you look at intel we've just gone through a big reporting period where are we in understanding big tech and the challenges regulation and costs are going to be two of the pivotal issues for twenty thousand would you agree with alan have we quite grasped that yet so let me take us to back and look at how technologists performed last three years right it's been largely by strong earnings growth and p multiple expansion here today as volatile you're right technique at a nice reborn in the last one or two weeks everybody breathed a sigh of relief exactly but but having said that there are some concerns on regulation front and also on top of the margins i also would add another risk related to trade tensions sawn regulations actually acknowledged the fact that today there are concerns about data i think regulators are looking at in europe judy pr implementation later this month in may we also have governments in china and other countries also closely monitoring what's happening with data privacy having said that from a fundamental point of view we don't think that the business models of these companies will change yes there is a moderate any impact maybe low single digit any impact but from a structural point of view i don't think that the business model of these companies will change so probably that's the reason why we are seeing a good set of results and finally provided relief soviet a nice rebound recently there's quite a bit of upside as you outlined but again the challenge that we've seen not just with privacy but the related operational costs that come with that you think about the prospects of automation which is something else that you highlighted in your report and then you think of the unions you think of all the other legal fees that will come with that as labor pushes back against them.

"No i don't think we you know i think it's it's kind of frustrating to watch because you know like you said like we were competing represent our country were competing to everything we kinda try to win a medal or to try to do our country proud but we're in the stars and stripes international ground when we come home from it you know they're like kind of okay check who's next kid coming in where's the next person and i think it said and for think for all that we do all the athletes doing all the rupture our respective sports obviously you see now there's a lot of people coming out and talking about energy bees and things that have happened in the past that need to be fixed need to be changed and gb's national governing bodies so usa gymnastics all that stuff and yeah what do you make of all of those stores it's not just because it's not just a gymnastics but there's been quite in swim abuse of young young i it's very frustrating very you aware of that when you were swimming i mean you kind of knew going on in some some instances i think you saw some of it or you heard about some of it and and i it's just it's something that that can't be brushed under the rug anymore and i think you know we have to stand up and and voice our opinions and be able to talk about what we love and what we want changed in order to do that and i think that's one of the cool things about being able to have that platform and being able to change it for our future generations who are gonna come in and take over the shoes that we walk in and it's not right it's disgusting you well we're on the subject of the governance of the olympics you know the russians were cited for doping didn't come as a huge surprise to you were you how aware were you of the of the prevalence of doping when you were swimming and how frustrating was it to you.
