Python Apps That Scale to Billions of Users
"Julian welcome to talk by enemy. Thank you it's great to have you here. We've got a bunch of fun stuff to talk about. It's really interesting to think about how we go about building software at scale and one of the things it just under a how you feel about reading your book. I feel like you must have some opinions on this. But when i go to a website that is clearly not a small little companies. It's obviously a large company with money to put behind professional developers and stuff in you click on it and it takes four seconds for every page load. It's just like how is it possible that you're building the software with so much. This is the face of your business is sometimes they decide to fix it with front frameworks. So then you get like a quick splash of like a box with owi and then it says loading for four seconds which to me feels no better. So i don't know. I i feel like building scalable. Software is really important. It's still people are getting it quite wrong quite often. I'm in it's all it's all also. There's a lot of things to do when you do that. Which lie right kober call for sure that also going to be able to mature everything like win there. Somewhere the be It's not easy bar like writing code and facing berg's is dominant. We all know to do that. But then if we are asking us up to one of the things that i as an example with profiling. While if i were to ask you more like i want you to tell me which parts your code is using some of the view. You're gone gaz. Uganda probably do a good gas. Most of the time but for real you don't know you have no clue until you actually look at. The data was profile or any two for being that will give you information.
Tennis Player to Watch: Evan Furness
"Guy. I want to talk about today. Who i think has been if not the best player one of the five best players at the it level since the start of the twenty twenty season. And that's evan furnace who you look at his career trajectory for those of you. Who don't know about edmund furnace furnace twenty two years old going to turn twenty three in the frenchman had a career high in the junior rankings of number thirty six so again. That's not gonna blow you out of the water right. Furnace was in this junior slam champion. Who much was expected of. Yeah he made a third round of junior wimbledon in twenty sixteen lost his devan. ac- pass. Yeah he made you know play. A bunch of the junior slammed had good enough results to become a top fifty junior in the world. But how many top fifty. Former top fifty. Juniors in the world have never heard of pro circuit. The answer is quite a few and you know for furnace. It was steady linear progression. You look at you know. He played his first pro tour match all the way back in two thousand fourteen when he was you know a i think sixteen or fifteen or sixteen years old played. One match. Didn't win it. You know you start to look at as he went through the years in two thousand fifteen he was able to play twenty matt or twenty one matches when eleven and ten. That's he's in twenty sixteen. He goes sixteen and thirteen. You know so again. steady progression. His first full season as twenty seventeen. He goes forty two and twenty eight in pro events during that season now he did not believe make any pro finals at twenty seventeen season but pretty quickly found himself making the jump off to To playing a full time to schedule you look at what he was able to accomplish. A four evan furnished during his first few seasons twenty eighteen he makes his first two It finals he bought ends up winning in portugal. Next up david gaz in cameroon. In the end of november he ends up losing two skandal mansuri than hong kong. He ends up knocking off. Julian lens makes another final during the twenty thousand nine hundred season although it is safe to say twenty nineteen you look at the results. Furnish was able to put together. That season You know relatively unsuccessful compared to previous years human thirty three and twenty nine during that twenty nine nine season now during that twenty nineteen season. I believe he also played his largest amount of challenge matches and challenger level events. He really struggled during one thousand nine hundred eighty play you know. You look in his career in his cert- currently six thousand nine hundred nine in challenger events during the course of his career during that twenty nine th season he played i wanna say ten challenger matches and i believe he went to in two hundred eight in those ten challenger matches so that's why his record fell a little bit. He started to try to make the jump at the end of twenty nineteen but then in twenty twenty in the midst of a pandemic given it was very difficult to find playing opportunities. And if you were in the vomit zone three hundred five hundred which normally you probably get into challenge qualities given the limited playing opportunities. You're lucky to find futures events to play last year. That's what a furnace had to spend a lot of time doing and guess what that is. Where evan furnished thrived. You look at what he has done. Since the start of the twenty twenties

It's lovely isn't it looks fantastic. Doesn't it right the two point? Six Challenge beasted passed me a little bit but I did sponsor my good mate. Tom Fairbrother who as Parvati marathon on a treadmill dresser tiger on Sunday I saw that and this this was Paul now Union me Martin. But I think London marathon kind of repurpose their charity fundraising for Sunday as part of St Point six challenge. I think the actual the twitter handle was actually the London. Marathon st-andre wasn't then they changed the name so I think yeah they all yet fully behind this out there. This is like their thing. They are in fact. There's a group with a mass participation kind of providers that came together but yes London marathon. I think we're pretty much leading on that now. Coming weeks as well as his great and he's is. It is a huge issue for charities London marathon race. I think last year sixty six million quid was raised for charities. Linda not to go. You know and you've you know got your child's storm break and you know I work closely apartment. I work closely with Alzheimer's research. Uk and they're like these charities that is their day like that is very fundraising day of the year and to have it taken away so damaging so this two point six challenge was created. Where people could I really liked about it was that you could be really creative. Some people could just go on a treadmill among twenty six points. Find other you guys got super creative. And we're doing twenty. Six monkey swings in twenty-six bounces on the trampoline a two year six kilo all Sunday the opening day. We got this from fundraising. Uk The two point six challenge raised over five million quicker. It's opening day the day. This is London. Marathon was due to take place. The challenge event was launched earlier. This month by mass. Participation event organizers including Part One London Landmarks Virgin Sport and under Maratha events to support the Chow tease would have benefited from London. Marathon currently postponed until the fourth one. Toba they asked people to help their chosen out by coming up with an activity based around the numbers two point six or twenty six distance in miles of the marathon instead to fundraise or donate to save the UK's charities via the two point six challenge website so nice creative way to an hopefully it will carry on for the next couple of weeks and raise a decent amount of money and and hopefully those charities will get through it yet. If you're thinking of doing something we will link to two point six challenged the UK on this week's show notes. That was because the London marathon of course was supposed to be on this past weekend and is probably like many of you listening was supposed to be doing it. Yeah we're supposed to be running right. That's right yeah we're supposed to be running. Us quite looking forward to it with SAM to the end of go get to do it and it got me thinking about. Oh holy and I discussed the show last week. All the things we miss about race we can. Everything involves much more than just doing the marathon and we all excited about well okay. Great we're really looking forward to it all happening again in October. Then I saw a piece for sure. Guard Sean Guardian Sean. Ingo should they just brilliant coverage for the Guardian about that under marathon where I think he'd spoken to Hebrew to the race director who had refused to rule out staging the event as a leak only race in the autumn. If social distancing rules make it impossible to run as normal Brazier told The Guardian? That while organizers still hope to hold the event on the fourth of October they when they're scenario planning for a red head other options gracious at the flame is still burning and There is still hope but you have to do it for right for society. You've usually got seventy five thousand seven hundred fifty thousand people out in central London watching forty five thousand runners is also medics and volunteers and the transport system says the law take into account when making any decision. That decision will be made by the back end of all at the latest explained Brazier and it will be based on government guidelines What we think and what we think society is right and what feels right at the time. So we'll have to wait and see. I think that already been canceled. And that's in September Tokyo elite Lynch. And see what happens now and look. The big thing is and we're getting this every day part one. What are you going to reopen? Or Win Wins. I can the big the only thing we know right now with everybody is. Nobody knows what's coming up. Said nobody knows when events are GONNA come back nobody events what knows what the guidelines are. GonNa be when they do So it could be. It could be anything I mean. I think I'd be surprised if if it went down. Only only route. Just because I don't know how if social distancing was implemented such you can never mass participation event. I'm not quite sure how it would be spectators. Yeah I mean if it would probably be. Let's say they did in the League one on a racetrack. Let's say like the the original was breaking thing you could do that and I think you might see some for example without spectators. I just don't think you could do that on the streets in London even if it was just an elite makes. I'll be surprised if they ended up like that but we are not now so be interesting as the the wheat. So let's go just marathon or park run. That's every single gathering of people isn't it? Yeah I've reclosing every corner. We everything choirs churches. Everything that gets together you have to wait until therein. That's meant for for those to reopen again. Gas Bamford.

I'll be really running with Liz. Plus you guys right Iran Iraq. You kick around the House. Really Tom Williams here. We are doing good to be back for our monthly monthly ketchup. We spread the bathroom to a little bit with the show now. And so you know I don't get to speak on. The marathon took land much frequency as we used to miss me. Dino loads and loads and loads microphone gag back recently now. Was it good? You know the one. We did what we tried to do. Math live on the ground ready. Yea Funny I'm not really a normally for about fifteen years. I've been welded podcast and clearly marathon tolkien but now working from home and all the time and being in the shed. I don't really have much podcast time and I've tended to be of got people now have no concept to hate painting. My mosques to make size is being being on the indoor rower and I've tended to sort of routine is at the end of the day work day of get on the rower and watched the press conference from number ten while I well I go so. That's kind of taken. The place of podcast. So I'm so far behind on podcasts including cyberia marathon you spending your entire day in your office because you you know even getting out exercising like you just completely full. Shed we walk. We walk the kids to school on the morning. Yeah yeah that does that mean the same as we do so we walk about long and comeback. Here we talked on our you up to an hour so we'll go will normally say we have full inside inside scoop on my daily routine daily routine but we we do. I have a call to a program. We have a daily call with a few of us. seven thirty in the morning every single day. Where we catch up on what? Where's everything in Pokhran? Will Relations Corona virus so that call every morning seven thirty to eight thirty and then normally Helena sometimes just sometimes just I but normally handle i. Then take the kids out thirty for an hour's walk to school as well. I mean the the old world school was any that fifteen minutes longer than that but we walk around the block and we do that together as a four. So we've got nice little nature reserve nearby. We want around the nature reserve and come back and then I stopped my kind of working day at nine thirty And I'm doing a little bit homeschooling but not masters healthy most of that and then I tend to finish my day. I finished my day today with a comeback. Two thousand meter. Pb actually come back on the hour before we recorded the show. We're recording at five thirty. We started talking five. Do you tend to. I'm sure I've said this. Before on the show recklessness for the last decade will know that when you get into something you do get into. It is that what is that. What's happening with the with the rubber? I'll tell you what we were laughing too. I am the king. The absolute self proclaimed King of close. But not so close but no cigar. Yeah we've done Madam. Ten done ten by thirty second Max effort on the road. 92nd recovery with a good friend of the show. At Professor Andrew laying are at the end of an odd odd donate. I done fifteen hundred thirty meters or something like averaging under fifty three meters in each of the second of all I thought. Oh fifteen hundred thirty. That's not bad. Six hundred nine is a is a mine and that would be five minutes ten thirty second effort. So that's a nice little target so I made the mistake of mentioning it on twitter. Of course Andy Lane went straight on a knocked out of the park needed like sixteen hundred twelve or something. Talk really strack part. But he had he'd gone rolling starts on each of the intervals and I hadn't gone from a standing start so I'm GonNa show you so I got back home not the same day like two each got back on and I thought we got one hundred sixty one. Meat is a rap and I did hundred sixty four in the first one. I thought I'm going to smash the parking lot detonate absolutely detonated and sixteen undertake so I missed it by meter. Remind.

Payton is the Gulf right now. He's had much more practice. PEYTON manning followers right. Now keep an eye on that. I feel like it's impossible. You can go super super viral. These people don't follow as soon as it happened. I wrote down. How many four followers? So I'll let you know once I think if you're if like a- like a foreplay account you might grab followers versus a personal account. I think because when you go by somebody who will go viral now and it's just like well. That was a funny joke but I don't need to follow every day but if this is like okay. This is golf account. I'm going to get like interesting golf. It's just like an accurate. If you look at our tweets videos shout out to our producer Jake I gotta give him a shadow. That was his tweet he was. Sometimes I feel like it's him other times I feel like enhanced clearly not I'll successful dashing dashing dress very well I bet there are times when he'll duck and be like I got something maybe WanNa see about that but and but this one I also feel like maybe it is him because I don't know if if I was tweeting four somebody I don't know if I would take shots at people might not want like Peyton manning beef on his hands right. That's not to say that it's true but that's to say that like people that are connected to the the mets are hearing what you're hearing. I mean if you can't tell on my reaction right there I really. I was probably leaning towards like seventy percent. This is not true and that just swayed me to like ninety nine central inch Kevin like I feel like we had to Redo the podcast. Because I'd read the mets step right up and I feel like I was doing it almost like a little bit like funding and tongue in cheek and now I need to do it like okay. Now wait jump off the get out of the car. Get back on the Marines. I don't know but I I think I think that what we're dealing with here is is a situation where if it was five years down the line and that if this gets out there that people are finding out that this isn't going to work out and they see the backlash from mets fans they can. There's plenty of time to sit back down at the table and figure it out. There's been backlash for years Bro. Like mets screaming forever. That's Steve Cohen. Money what do you know what I just said what do you what did you hear I. I'll send you a screen shot. I can't say definitely better not be fucking with. Not If you do that. They don't know all I was told. was that someone that was actually connected to the mets was hearing got all the things that Kevin was talking about. So it's not like a pay this person this person. "I mean we are First Party in Houston was like legendary. Everyone's talking like he didn't didn't feel like a house party and all these. I think we're just getting fucked up knowing about anything suit like party that sometime in the last couple years. We've had that because we like partnered with the wrong people and rough and rowdy we did last year was not a party is rough and rowdy. It was on this year. We're like we're just GONNA blow it out and hopefully like literally like burn it down and that's kind of what we did. It just didn't get to go longer but it was funny like so many people since that first party like it's a disaster it's a disaster like this is like kind of what we we wanted it to be something that we're GonNa talk about. Yeah we wanted to report we got into. They are still ask like every time we do something big business. Wise people like all they're going to sell out or they're going to change was very apropos on the week. Everyone we're like officially made it made. It made it made it. We were like Oh. Yeah but we're still gonNA shut down like a fan standpoint. Had to have been fucking awesome. I thought we would have gotten a lot of people complaining. Email like we've gotten very little the way it's still went to like one thirty shutdown compared to other parties and open bar the whole thing like everyone got their Miami and people were legless when they were leaving leaving so but as Kelly and Danielle are out there with a whole night and they're kind of like I'll fuck like trying to do what they need to help them like. Listen at this point like we just gotTa survive in advance. Yeah we're GONNA win this wittingly withdraw try to survive. That was really the end of the game. Like let's go as long as we can but it was really just like fasten your seatbelts. Like we're just GONNA have to grit our teeth and like just hold on tight so I kept thinking about what what the celebrities were going to do you and then I see maybe the funniest most lasting image. I'll ever have in my life. Is Shooter mcgavin Chris Christie. And I think it's the same sitting sitting on like a loan chair a single chair in the middle of a fucking flood river on the phone like screaming holding other era closed. Just trying to figure things out. It was a scene from titanic. was shooter mcgavin. Pretty much down knowing. That dude is like a party booze bag animal. I didn't even know he was in the mix. Until after the fact then the shooter mcgavin parody account retweets Portnoy pulled the night that ninety nine percent on me so I I mean. Did anybody like see what became of him he might be. You might have just been. Yeah that video from one of our sales guys like one of our clients sent me this I I actually talked and I think it was. I was like dude before. It's so funny and like I want you to understand how funny video overdue I'm not sending it so you like give me some love right right right right and make sure you watch it re write back. Just that to me I I would rather have a party bomb at the end gets shut down for that image. Then it'd be like hey the bar support. He was awesome last night. I was like should I put this. Does it make it look bad. He's like right. We don't go fuck this is so it's it's everywhere by everybody. Louis WAIN party in Atlanta last year whenever you took him like kissing me in whatever I was where is is this guy just always feel us on his phone with like so instead of like his sponsor play like I did it again. I went off the rails again a sponsored and just sitting by himself. That's the I mean again by himself. Look Buddy was in there a game. He was standing by himself and I was like no one really really not right for whatever. Reason didn't recognize him and I went and got him like brought him around to like a side thing and then I just caught him. I didn't see him until that video. Nobody has ever done better with like a cult classic role then that guy. He has milked every last bit of it. But you gotTA think we're getting to the point where that movies pushing like thirty years old right like I guarantee you put that guy in front of some kids. They're not gonNA. Maybe you could explain it in the big. Oh yeah I know that but just looking at them not gonna fix carpet and he just walked right and I'm like you didn't stop shooter. mcgavin the praying jail when I mean that to me was worth worth at all but but both seeing the blackout tour revived was pretty cool. At one point I had like a moment. I was like standing with Joe Borough and the Bosa family and like fights was gone so I was pretty much by myself or at least he's not any other barstool people and was looking out. I kind of have one of those moments especially as the blackout tour like revived and I was thinking like the only reason we got here is because that like saved us when we we were broke and now it's back again and we sold and all this shit and I was just like smiling ear to ear and then it all went to shit like instantly and I almost smiled more like the about when you gave me one of the blackout. When you were sitting next to Joe Brough did you think he looked like him? I see it I mean you know what the real reason is. We both have bags under is. I don't know why he has them. I got him in my life. That have just asked her but we both have the White Guy Daddy is but yeah I mean he like he was he was the perfect example of like England fog. Whatever it's raining it's crowded like yes we're at a party fucking? Let's roll boasts. A family make both the family goes hard family. Were great they were everybody in there was just. I love the bow so heart art. I'll ride for them forever. Now people trying to give nick trouble for following accounts on all right. I'm officially a space whenever it's just right there believable to that guy. His look is just unbelievable. Take notes if you can if you can pull off that look do it because that was trying to figure out like exactly what it looks like an eye just came it. Looks like Danny. From game of thrones and the color of it but he still pulls it off somehow. Yeah that was that was that was a little section. I can't believe like see their Joe Montana show. I mean I heard he was coming and I was like hell. Oh Montana was it. Jim Kelly from the buffalo bills. They were like the nicest family ever they were Jim. Kelly was the thing is you couldn't see past like are right in front of us. They're also crowded and you have no idea vicks and I'm like Cologne said tyreek Hill. was there like the one who played in the Super Bowl. He's like what he was like. What are you doing now? The Fuck Outta here. He said this. That's hilarious yeah you know. Hang out and play in a couple of days official headcount but what it ended up being. I know that we have in an hour over six thousand three doors down because the last year we didn't promote it really until until the end because we were worried about like it was a capacity issue. There where you don't want to have ten thousand people in this kind of we could just limit. We could let as many people as we wanted right but I think it was six thousand went through the door but like inside at one time I think it was four thousand something like Geez. That's still so many on man. Whatever the cars pulled up to drop off and I saw the line was basically wrapped around the entire fire building? It was like a strap. Let's which is good because people are gonNA show up at nine o'clock in Miami nine o'clock you're sleeping still. Yeah Yeah Yeah so but now everyone came out out in droves of hundreds and you're gonNA HAVE PTSD from it. I don't want anymore those and say you gotTa do one more but just like not. How Miami's emmys the perfect city for it lightly like Shit like that and I was surprised I mean next year Tampa Vegas is there after that? No I thought I thought it was Tampa than La. Either way they'd be like like Tampa Vegas Vegas some in some order you. Are you sad that it didn't like. I was bombed the next day Eric ten times because I was like then and like that was going to be like the Walker then. I realized that everyone was like it was kind of like inside. I wasn't drinking. I wasn't like in the mix I went inside was at like right when the blackouts started. Yeah and I didn't come back until the Fire Marshal in with me at one o'clock and that's when I could see like people just kind of hanging off the every like climbing up on I was yeah I was like I saw. NBA basically couldn't get any. You couldn't get any better than we were. I feel like I had to blow dry my hair when I got back like I literally looked like went and took a shower. I wouldn't drink my newest miserable. Part of my life went rock bottom basic. Because I was I was bombed I was like man. We spent six months like doing this. I wanted and it was going to be one of those and again people are talking about it the way I wanted it to be talked about but I ended up across the street at CCA unharmed frog probably. They must've taken like a Royal Caribbean cruise ship to Miami and I was just sitting there like drinking like those stupid Dana fucking soaking oaken wet. I'll sit there with my buddy from back home and I was like dude this. What happened this weekend? I end up here based off of like millionaire millionaire in the mix. Yeah Yeah that I think in the end. It's better like if you have a good part. Good story is able to remember it. You'll never forget. Yes expand forgetting Paulie. I even think about the amount of people who probably like. I bet so. Many people were like jumping into other people's Uber's survive. Who went home box and they partied together? Talk to you remember even if they go back a little bit of adversity actually kind of ratchets up the memorable aspect of it you have all the Super Bowl parties ladies. You've ever been juiced like yeah. We went to that party went to that. Whatever it's like you just talk about it again next year status? I remember obviously but I'm trying to think I don't like literally remember or like the venue and I remember like the sights and sounds. I know if there's any pineapple lovers out there who like it on their pizzas secretly fucking throw some black on their hit it with some hot sauce and tell hey girl about it later. We'll fuck it. Let's get into. It is now time for this week in food history this serious gourmet suit. Modern men and women apparently do not have a monopoly on being tired. And we've been looking team for ways to stay awake and quench our thirsts since forever. Okay so enter Polska poster post ochre. This is an ancient ancient energy drink which had never heard about until I started trying to find stuff to talk about this week. I think I think surge was an ancient energy drink to my God. It had had a what was the thing. Everybody was afraid of the yellow five or whatever I don't know there was an ingredient in surge side died now one time me and a girlfriend like drank a six pack of surge. Together like a sleepover and then we were like. We're like real horny. Thirteen year olds and we were talking in all this mad trash that we didn't know anything about you know and it was right here in airmen. That went right to our parents room house for another a year. I was not sexually active but I knew words strung together in a sentence that I thought made sense. It was like issue like sand. I WanNa see appears but serge aside. Tell me what is post post guy. So it's a mix of vinegar her salt water and herbs that originated in Greece. But it's the Roman army that actually made it famous curse so basically everybody wanted to drink wine right. But you can't drink wine all the time you're GONNA be fucked up on the battle. Yeah so this was a way to use up wine that they'd capture on too long. I e Red Wine Vinegar Mhm and then thin it out with water so it stretches farther and then they made it tastes good and that's why they served it to the army as early as the middle of the Roman Republic era so like around like five hundred. BC The military ration post guy to all of their troops along with grains and very occasionally occasionally meat and cheese so basically. I don't want to say the Roman army was Vegan. Were mostly they were definitely flexible. And that policy in the military rations considered are a continued for centuries well into the rise of the Roman Empire. And they're taking over over of the whole Western Hemisphere in just fucking throwing back Red Bulls. Oh yeah so they drink it by the barrel fall and it was said to give the military it's legendary Stamina Anna inefficiency drink's acidity and slight alcohol content would have lessened the bacteria content. which made it safer in these ancient times drinking straight water? Oh that's weird. Yeah because tainted water would take out whole army and whole cities alike so having this light slightly more acidic content would kill some of that harmful bacteria and keep the soldier safe makes sense. Yeah and in addition to that Vinegar with thought to stave off scurvy which would take out whole armies too and. You might be own stupid everybody news. It's vitamin C.. Nobody knew it was vitamin C. Not Not then Eh. US Army actually rationed apple cider vinegar to troops in the Mexican war when they were stationed on the southwest border because this was Bike confirmed scientific facts. That vinegar helped cure scurvy well into the eighteen hundreds so the Romans had been doing it since forever so we we were just biding their style with our apple cider vinegar so among soldiers and common folk post get continued to be enjoyed well into the Middle Ages so so would you drink something like this. I would try it. Yeah but like. I don't really the only caffeine consumers that coffee but I do love the idea of like like if you were to airdrop on the troops right now just by fucking red bull monster energy drink for all the that for all the truth. This is like almost like a flat can buca right. Yeah because it's a vinegary lot of the same ingredients slightly alcoholic collegue. It has some early taste to it in salt. which is good to have in your water if you're getting dehydrated if you're marching like a thousand miles in the military? I just thought this was so interesting. I would have thought that they were just drinking water. And I feel like maybe like a military presence and energy drinks kind of go hand in hand because I will say mhm they like when I drive around Los Angeles especially Texas when you see PICCO that has a US army or the Marines stickers that there's there's there's a monster energy logo pretty.

A Renewed Focus on Women Over 40
"I am all about this like renewed focus on women over forty. Okay this is a nice list. Is it nice. Oh Yes oh my what I think is nice is that we're finally putting the final Gaz on women over forty and I say that as somebody obviously not over over from not over forty but like I see you know. I'm knocking at his door. And I really has for the past few years having been a million in meetings focus groups Press events where it's all about this we've completely thrown our brand in the trash to appeal to the millennial customer her. That did not your street. Yes everything is about millennial customer I think technically I am a millennium. Older millennial That's that's for sure but it's like guys I understand you have to be relevant. I understand you cannot ignore this. Tremendous Group of people. millennials are going to the biggest group like second to boomers something. Consumers are dying off Lovey boomers but it feels almost like slavish devotion to people who don't necessarily early give them back. You know a return on their investment. So where are you seeing. This renewed focus on women's forty in the beauty. Remember we went to that Lori. Alvin a few a few weeks ago. We sat this law relevant and they talked about how women over forty are basically underserved all your they say that we learned that seventy percent of women over fifty feel forgotten by the beauty and the ad sixty percent of them use makeup every day. Hey and I can attest to that. Having known knowing a lot of women over fifteen. Yeah like my mom wasn't getting out of the car without lipstick. No so so. The Nice thing is focusing on these and and it's like hello. Thank you coming out with a whole line devoted to this. We're all GONNA get older. I've been very reflective the past year. We're all getting older and the idea Zia of like you're no longer relevant. You're no longer visible I think you know we talk so much about inclusivity in this country right now but ageism is like like something that we're not comfortable talking about this year you started to see a twist inclusive Izzo Solorio is coming out with. I don't you can I other products. Okay they're coming out with products that are targeted for lipstick. That isn't you know it's called a perfect. Yeah perfect Foundation that covers without looking like a mask. I'm sorry we don't WanNa look like get the coverage but like highly Jenner. You know it's not about that airbrush kind of like instagram look Is there other things. Besides the L'OREAL affects the show. I'm there's you know whether or not this is really Gen. Ed Pours herself another good blog. got cannot wait to like drink freely again so There's a brand called called paws. which is all about menopause? Well aging Boswell. Instead of anti-aging he bought a brand. That's it's not necessarily skin care. I think it's supplements and I think vaginal dryness stuff. But that's taking it to another level but my point is it's normalizing the conversation conversation about aging. It's not ignoring women who honestly like some of my biggest hate. This Term Lake Ella. Crashes are women who are over forty over fifty and it just seems so crazy that we can talk about. You know inclusivity and we're still kind of like oh he's old Going Naughty starting out nice. We were positive it was nice. It's a nice. It's a nice reaction to I think and not a culture that you're looking audie in two thousand nine hundred you're starting to like together beauty industry exactly so we. Yeah we need to. We need to realize that you know people who are spending money money on makeup like they deserve more respect. I like

"Drama is drama for a reason. Drama doesn't alternately make us. Happy drama is turmoil. It's emotional it's all over the place. And when we get swept up in it as entertaining as it is from far, it's barreling towards us. And we don't want to get stuck in that place. And we know that happiness is built on pleasure and purpose and toxic people. They're not helping us with either of those components. No, no. If that wasn't bad enough already though often make you second guess your own values and goals. You're gonna start to feel like you're on the wrong path. You're doing things wrong. You're the problem. We talked about the second guessing, and we're gonna we're gonna discuss guy sledding and just a bit of of how they do this. But it just going to appear that everything you're doing is making everything worse because it's how they're playing this game is set up in that manner because you wouldn't second guess yourself. If it wasn't and listen toxicity is infectious I had an ex girlfriend number of years ago, and my friends after we broke up came to me, and we're like, dude, I'm so glad you're no longer with her. You're a different person you're back to regular AJ. And I was like what are you talking about? You know, you don't realize that's fear of influence that they have over you and the negativity and the drama you get sucked into you. And all of a sudden, you're acting on a character. You no longer are alignment with your values your piling on your this negative person. And it repels the people that matter to you. That's how this. Works. You're now driven off that path. And you're like, wait a minute. You know, why you focused and aimed in a different direction. So it's going to take getting back to that. And one of the things that we do not knock it off the subject, but I you mentioned about the fear of influence. I'm glad that we spent some time on that last week because that sets up how easily this this happens, and you get sucked up in it. And the last thing we want to talk about that happens when we're dealing with someone who's toxic is gas lighting. Yes. And I know we mentioned it last week. Let's talk about what we mean by gas, citing and Gaz lining is a term that was actually coined from nineteen forties film, entitled gaslight, and essentially it's when one person tries to make you doubt your own sense of reality. Yes..
