A Prayer to Ease Worry

"Friend, if worry is gripping your heart and it is leading you down a dark path, may I remind you that we aren't meant to carry the weight of this world. Our minds, hearts, and physical bodies will literally collapse under such weight. That's the test we were never meant to withstand the constant knowledge near submerged in on the daily. Ecclesiastes one and 18. While we are to seek wisdom, we must control what we ingest by guarding our hearts and minds. The truth of the matter is that our hearts will be troubled in this life. We will encounter trials of all sorts. They can be certain of that. First, Peter four, 12 to 14. But we have hope as the lemurs that tucked within our worry is a pathway to peace. We are called to stand firm in that truth. Let's pray. Heavenly father, you are a God of peace. We are so thankful that you give us the ability to come to you with our troubles, worries, and concerns. And you love when we grant us a piece that goes beyond our own understanding. While we know we will come into places that bring on sear and worry, we ask that you stay with us and draw us close. Remind us that you will see us through. They are safety net in times that bring on confusion and lead our hearts back to the promise of sound throughout your word. We invite you to help us see areas in our lives in which we need to create safeguards for our hearts and minds. Guide and urge us to focus on what is pure wholesome and righteous. Lord, please give us a calm spirit as well when we receive news that is troublesome. Help us find resourceful ways to heal or anxious heart. Give us the will to seek your wisdom in these times and pour your unfailing love upon us. When our hearts want to wander off the pathway, when seer and worry wants to consume less, get us the courage to seeking and give us discernment. Help us trust new loan and remember that you have a special plan and purpose through our lives. We know that we were created for such a time as this and want to glorify you. So we ask that you make a fast Jeremy's rather strange time. And plant a sense of peace that will carry us through. We ask this in Jesus name. Amen.

"Provided a double double while playing just 24 minutes of the bucks one 30 94 trouncing of the spurs. And tanta kupo sat out the entire fourth quarter after scoring 31 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. We were able to get some amazing ones in transition, get some open threes, get downhill, just move the ball. He helped Milwaukee expand its lead in the east at two and a half games over Boston. Bobby portis and Chris Middleton added 19 points each for the bucks who never trailed. Middleton also had ten assists while portis had ten rebounds. I'm Dave ferry.

Ram Ahluwalia Catches Us Up on Credit Suisse

"Where I want to start is sort of a little bit of a catch up on Credit Suisse. And so maybe first, we could talk a little bit about what happened over the last week. We're recording this on Monday. I think that's extremely important for people to know, because I think it'll come out on Wednesday and who knows what will transpire in the next 48 hours between them. But I think it would be really helpful to have sort of a short primer to help ground us in terms of understanding how much the things going on with Credit Suisse were credits we specific versus symptomatic of larger problems. And so maybe if we could kind of just start with, you know, what happened with Credit Suisse, you know, what the resolution was, and then maybe we can try to understand and piece through what the causality was. Sure thing. So let me frame it up. UBS and CS were the two top wealth managers in Switzerland, CES, sometime around September, October of last year, their share price took a dive as kind of floating around $3 or so. And the main issues there were around arca ghost, which was a hedge fund blew up that creditors had lending exposure to. And then also just a litany of issues around CS and compliance and open litigation around that. Now, fast forward to call it the last one or two weeks, CS started experiencing runs on the bank. They had deposit flight and the regulators were trying to broker some kind of transaction with UBS and CS was also in a parallel path looking to raise equity capital. So their largest shareholder, which is Saudi Arabia, declined to invest more than their 10% ownership interest in CS. They share that news, I believe it was Thursday of last week. And the reveal of that news caused further loss of confidence in CS and accelerator with the roles. So that was the principle event. That really accelerated the demise of CS. So what happened yesterday, there is an announcement that UBS will be acquiring select parts of credit Swiss.

"Do you find that the parents movement is vibrant and growing That is It's going to be very effective in the future I do I see no signs of it waning Obviously the COP is introduced as parents Bill of rights But you're seeing throughout the country different groups popping up I mean there is no shortage of parents that are reaching out to me on a near daily basis with issues in their school asking for advice on best approaches to handle their woke school board or their woke school superintendents and you can't get on social media or look at the news without a new issue happening and at some school board meeting or at some school district in America And certainly the weaponization report yesterday I think was a vindication for parents where you know essentially concluded that the NSBA The White House and Merrick Garland colluded on this memo from attorney general Garland two years ago to label parents as domestic terrorists really to try and help Perry McAuliffe in Virginia two years ago because this parents movement was so hurting his chances and ultimately doomed them

"In the era of mass censorship, ordinary but brave people have a lot of power. It's really an extraordinary thing. Literally billions of billions. Hundreds of millions of people have seen the content from libs of TikTok. Potentially billions. I don't exaggerate though. And try a rate check has just been posting what's happening on TikTok. That shows that every one of you in this audience can make a difference. You just do the right thing and you do it boldly and you do it courageously, you can move the overton window. We would not have the legislative action that we are seeing on the meta mutilation issue if it was not for libsyn TikTok. So try, you have a new book out, tell us about it. It's called no more secrets, and also it got protested, tell us all about it. Yes, so for the last two years, I basically been exposing groomers and predators to our targeting our children. And then the pattern of a groomer who wants to prey on a kid is to cut out the parent to isolate the child to sever the parent child relationship, and then to prey on the kid. So, you know, I was like, look, I've been exposing this for two years, and I think the time has come for me to actually put out a tool which could help parents and children to combat this and to help kids not fall into that trap. So I wrote a kid's book, no more secrets. It's available on book dot com, but it basically teaches kids Ann parents. It strengthens the family unit, and it helps create that trust between parents and kids. Where if there is a trusted adult who tells a child, you know, don't tell your parents that we can keep this between us. This is a secret between us. The child should know that that is groomer behavior.

"Delighted to welcome our guest today, Mike cernovich. He's a filmmaker, journalist, commentator on a wide range of topics. He produced the documentary called hoax. Everything they told you is a lie. Mike's one of my favorite Twitter followers to make sure to find him on Twitter or you can also subscribe to his substack. Mike, thanks for joining us. Always a pleasure. Thank you. Yeah, so Mike, I wanted to get your reaction to some of the recent kind of rumblings going on with Trump's arrest and also just how do you feel like a lot of the presidential hopefuls and other people responded to the news. Yeah, the Trump arrest was mishandled by everyone, especially I think desantis, which was unfortunate because I expected him to have better political instincts. The big mistake people are making right now is they're seeing it as Trump's arrest. Whereas most of the country doesn't see it as Trump's arrest. They see it as a way to attack all of Trump supporters. As a way to apply it on equal system of law. For example, I bring up your dad's case a lot. A lot of people don't even know about your dad's kids because he handled it with such grace and moved on with his life, but it still actually probably makes me angrier than it makes him, which is wait a minute. After dinesh for helping a friend's campaign and then Rosie O'Donnell says that she deliberately set illegal campaign contributions and brags about it and then nobody goes after Rosie O'Donnell. So is dinesh, did he commit a crime for giving a friend $10,000? Because nobody understood this stuff at the time. Nobody knew you couldn't do. It's silly. Nobody had any idea even. And then to have the full resources of the law brought on him and then of course the FBI file says he was an anti Obama filmmaker and you think, oh, okay, well that was obvious what would happen there. And then meanwhile, you have Rosie O'Donnell saying, oh yeah, I deliberately send too much money. Hoping that they don't send it back. Okay, so she's an admitted admitted campaign contribution fraud. Admit it. And of course, nothing happens to her.

Reparations May Be Given to Blacks in California

"During his now infamous trial, January 6th defendant, Jacob chansley, AKA the Q shaman, faced some very hefty sentences. These included a 5 year prison sentence and a fine of up to $250,000. In law, such fines are levied as a form of restitution in order to compensate for costs such as damaged property, medical bills, resulting from personal injury, or even to pay an opponent's legal fees. The concept of reparations is that it is a form of punishment that can also help to repair the damage that was done by the accused. It's important to note, the government can not find you with reparations out of the blue. You have to be guilty of a crime. It's good the Chancellor wasn't ultimately hit with the full amount as a quarter of a million dollars for most people can't be raised easily. People work their entire lives and still can't save that much money. It's such a large amount that even someone as gullible as judge Lambert, a man who genuinely believed the Q shaman was somehow the breath from destroying America's democracy forever. Thought the penalty was overkill. Lately, there's been another shaman in the news, only this shaman has two ends, shaman Walton is a member of the San Francisco board of supervisors. A body which voted unanimously last Wednesday to approve a plan to give $5 million to every eligible black resident as part of the city's plan to make reparations for slavery. The plan was a way to go before final approval, like every other member of the board, shaman Walton wants to see it through. He says, quote, we have to stay focused and stay together as a community, he says. Because now it is a 100% more prevalent that we can not be separated or divided. Let's stay the course. Because a $5 million payday for me is almost here. It might be pertinent to point out that shaman Walton himself is black. And something also tells me he will be included among those deemed eligible for the payout.

"Center cotton in terms of your lawyer and you're on the judiciary committee. When you see Americans lecturing Israelis on what to do with their court system, do you respond as I do, which is it's none of our business. That's a domestic issue we should not be hectoring them on either way, but if you're going to hack or at least be consistent with your position taken in the United States and the left is not doing that. I was in Israel last month. I was very clear about this at the time. I'm entirely confident that Israelis of all political persuasions can manage their own domestic affairs. They don't need the help of America to manage their own domestic affairs. They do need the help of America, however, to help broker peace agreements with their neighbors as we saw with Abraham accords under president Trump. They do need help to counteract the common terrorist threat that threatens both our nations and they certainly need help to counteract the Iranian nuclear threat. That's what Israel needs America's helps do. They don't need American politicians meddling in their own domestic affairs. I will

A Prayer for Unsaved Friends

"Be willing to go the extra mile to help your Friends receive Salvation in Jesus Christ. When it comes to praying for your Friends, be passionate, asking God to do whatever it takes for them to receive his gift of new life. This truly is a life or death situation where nothing on earth is more important for them than having their sins paid in full by the blood of the lamb. Without it, your friends will be lost forever. Ephesians one 7 explains in him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace. Let's pray, dear father, we ask you to reach out and reveal your truth to our unsafe Friends, intervene O lord in their lives today, free them from unbelief. Father, please soften their hearts towards you. That their ears be open to hear their eyes to see and their hearts to understand your truth. So they might receive your Salvation through Jesus Christ. Do whatever it takes in their lives lord to bring them to faith in you. As acts for 12 reveals, Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given, to mankind, which must be saved. Help them to understand that Jesus is the only way to you father and is able to save them completely. Living forevermore to intercede on their behalf. Freedom from unbelief your father and give them a new heart and a new spirit within them. In Jesus name, amen.

How to Fix Black America With Voddie Baucham

"Be honest, black America is broken because for more than 50 years, starting with LBJ basically, it has been subject to big government intrusion that has destroyed black families, destroyed everything that ever could help black America, but what you're saying and what I think is true is that things are bad enough in America and in black America that people are willing to look at other ideas. Yeah. And the great thing about the conference, you know, it's how to fix black America with a strike through on black, right? Because we need to fix America, not just black America. Yes. And that's really the whole point is the same things that are necessary for addressing and fixing the plight of black Americans are the things that are necessary for addressing correcting and fixing the plight of all Americans. You know, you brought up the idea of fatherlessness and it's a huge problem and we know that it's a huge problem in black America with over 70% of black children being born out of wedlock. But it's a huge and growing problem in America as a whole. And as I said earlier, you know, when we look at issues and only paint with that one brush, that sort of Marxist oppressor oppressed brush. Then you begin to look at problems like incarceration rates and dropout rates and violence and crime and all these sort of things. And if you're only answer is oppression and racism, then you're not paying attention to the fact that we know that fatherlessness, for example, contributes to these things, right? And that's something that we need to be not just aware of, but that's something that we need to be calling out.

"Now, we're talking about a Pakistan here, Chad and before we go, I want to make sure we have you wrap up on that, but I also want to get your take on what's happening in Russia, Ukraine, IRC, Xi Jinping, visiting Russia. This is absolutely insane. All right, so just if you would ramp up what you were talking about as far as Pakistan and the ISI yeah, I mean, just I mean, this is our enemy. This is who we've been fighting for the last 20 years when we fight when we say fight and Taliban. And the truth is, we didn't negotiate with our allies. We didn't negotiate with. We didn't negotiate with the Afghan government. We spent 20 years in place. The only people we talked to when I say we, The White House talk to was the Taliban, our enemy of 20 years, and we left Afghanistan without the consensus of the rest of the world. And we had 2500 troops there. We had 2500 troops and 20 places that can name around the world. We still have 50,000 troops in Japan and 40,000 in Germany and 35,000 in South Korea. This is not how the United States strategical leaves places and it created a catastrophe. And left Americans behind cost American lives left a 100,000 Afghan allies behind and left a 40 million vulnerable Afghans including 20 million women and little girls that we raped and for the rest of their life because of this. And so it's complete tragedy. And the world is watching our enemies are watching, which leads us into why Putin invaded Ukraine because he could. Because of the weakness in our White House and he postured against the imposture and the border with a 100,000 troops. Right. Joe, Joe Biden flinched, moved our U.S. troops out of Ukraine, moved our embassy out of Ukraine, the rest of the NATO partners followed and gave a green light for Putin to come in. And now we're sending a 113 plus $1 billion to Ukraine. None of that money is making it to help those people. It's a complete catastrophe. It's only it's only emboldening Putin and continue doing what he's doing and it's incentivizing people like zelensky who are getting all this money and never in this war because why they're making veins and dollars off of it, including corrupt politics in the United States.

Veteran Uses Platform to Bring Hope

"Listen, Chad, there's so much that I'd like to talk to you about. First off, let me say this. Thank you for what you're doing for vets. And when I talk about what you're doing for Bette, people might not know this, you've been extremely transparent. And vulnerable when it comes to your own stories of PTSD, the mighty oaks foundation, if you would just talk about that briefly here because you help out veterans with a biblical perspective that have gone through PTSD, dark times, talk about the mighty oaks foundation if you would. Yeah, well, you know, it started with me. I came home from 8 deployment to Afghanistan as part of a joint special operations command task force. Had my own hardships coming home, dealt with anxiety, depression, severe panic attacks, and diagnosed with PTSD. I had a three year downward spiral that ended in me almost losing my family. And a very real suicide attempt where resulted in people coming around me, helping me to get well and of all the things that people did for me to get well was nothing was probably more profound than a restoration of my faith in the other side of that. I just felt a deep burden of my heart that I really believed God put there for me to help others. And I used the platforms that had been given through a really good reputation to special operations community, being a professional athlete, using those two platforms to broadcast the message of hope to other people struggling just like I was. And that is stored at 12 years ago with the founding of the mighty oaks foundation over the last 12 years. We really do four things. One is we do resiliency programs of active duty military. Based around the world, I've been able to personally speak to about a half million active duty troops throughout the program. Even as much as going to Marine Corps boot camp, every quarter now for the last 8 years, I've been in the Marine Corps boot camp and speaking to recruits on the four pillars of resiliency on spiritual agency and just being the warriors that our country needs them to be. Dr. G and Chris Kohls Discuss the Imagery of "Conan the Barbarian"

"A little bit about the world that was created by mister Howard and also the man who I think probably more than anybody else before the movie. Helped us to visualize this world of Conan, and that's the artist Frank frazetta. So let's put up some of these incredible images. These were actually the covers of the novels in the 60s and 70s that I think, along with heavy metal in France, kind of helped to define a whole genre. So you don't get Conan, you don't get sword and sorcery. You don't get that whole subculture of media and movies without this, his Conan, the aged Conan the king, this is a whole world in and of itself, isn't it, Chris? Oh yeah, you know, everybody in the documentary that I watched the sort of behind the scenes documentary. Talked about these images, these paintings, and back then back in like the 70s, that was a really big deal. If you had amazing cover art, you mentioned you mentioned heavy metal magazine. Yeah. They made a heavy metal movie. And I just watched a YouTube video comparing the heavy metal movie with 5th element, the movie 5th. Totally. And they essentially ripped off the heavy metal movie. Yeah. Almost seen for scene, in some cases, with the 5th element. And it had that kind of influence in the 1970s that people don't really remember. I don't think. And I certainly didn't really understand this until I got much older because I wasn't around back then. So I didn't know about it. I was unaware. So what are these things that get to lost in time? We lose our perception of the things that influence the things that we love sometimes. And this

Janet Yellen Vows to Safeguard Deposits at Smaller U.S. Banks

"We're gonna get you up to speed on all that's going on in the world of crypto. Finance, and more, including some comments from the treasury secretary. Is that right? The Janet Yellen say something will. What's going on? That's right. We got a nice Bloomberg scoop to start off the day. Talk about how the FDIC is actually looking to move beyond the $250,000 ensure level for all deposits at most banks. They're looking to basically enact some pretty extreme measures in the wake of both SVB and signature bank being taken over by FDIC and also silver gate voluntarily winding down operations. There's a lot of contagion in the banking sector and they want us to have any more of that from occurring. So we're looking to ease the fears of depositors by increasing the insurance levels to what seemingly are extreme amounts. I don't know, Wendy, your take on it, it seems like this is like a pretty wild step. But it might be necessary given that there's a lot of fear out there in the banking sector. So this was this story was in regards to them using an old law from the 1930s, right? Well? Okay. So with that being said, I don't like all of these random laws that we have in our government. But at the same time, if this is going to help protect retail, if this is going to help protect taxpayers, because taxpayers are going to suffer the burden anyways. No matter what happens, if the banks get bailed out, taxpayers are going to be banks don't get bailed out. Taxpayers are going to get hurt anyway. So I guess I'm kind of okay with them using this law to help the underdogs. But at the same time, it makes me a little bit worrisome because we see them using some of these old laws and these old caveats to kind of destroy crypto and halt the growth in our industry. So I'm a little bit on the fence about it, but at the same time I do want to see retail win and I do want to see people get their money back

But this is how I would do it in this situation. In this house, as it's time to pack that house up, then make sure you have those pictures right there of this is the house that you're so excited about how much progress we've made. So this desk, do you like it better than this one here? Are you going to be willing to replace that desk? Is it worth it? Because it would be a lot easier to not even have to take it there and just sell it from this place, right? Okay, so using that as a way that with everything that is going that we're going to take with us from this house, there has to be a place for it, which they have a much better understanding now because of all the work that you've done on that house. Does that make sense? Okay. Again, nobody is saying, I'm definitely not saying that me answering your question is going to make this all easy. It is going to be difficult. It's going to be hard. But you can do it. I believe in you. And they are so blessed whether they appreciate it, always or not they are so blessed to have you. Willing to help them. How do you motivate a hoarder who won't let anyone into her home? Absolute way to not do that is shame. I'm not saying you were saying that. I'm just saying, badgering and shaming, not a motivation at all. It's not helpful, okay? So how do you? Well, you know, I don't know the whole situation here. I don't know if this is a relative who you're concerned about their safety. You know, as far as like motivating, I want you to think about how you got inspired to the point where you bought this course, okay? Like, think about, you know, what was it? Was it things just kind of you saw things come across your way? Was it your own frustration over things? Be open about your own journey. Be open about things that you've gotten rid of, not from, well, I got rid of this and this and this. That's never helpful, right? But instead like, oh man, I never thought I could get rid of this stuff from my job 30 years ago. Because that was such a part of share your own story to help them see that you really do have an understanding of how hard it is to get rid of stuff. And because you know, your question is, who won't let anyone into her home? So the first step here is being asked to help, right? So even before you say, hey, can I help you? I mean, I think about when my, I still regret this. This is like a huge regret of mine.

"Have nothing in her life anymore. Olympia told me this was not the most horrific story she had heard, but that she remembered this one because of the way the mother's voice sounded. She's so cold. Her voice was so cold. She spoke like roe, but an Olympia said she would never forget it. What has that transition from being a fashion DJ to now hearing these stories as an emergency worker? Well, has it been like for Olympia? I think she's trying to learn how to kind of take on all these really difficult stories and return to her regular life at the end of the day. She says that she's falling asleep. She often sees these scenes that she's heard describe play across her eyes basically. It's like a record in my head, sometimes I have my own movie, my own horror movie because I remember everything. I remember the names. I remember every situation in details, so I have a small room in my brain where I keep all the stories for life, I don't know. That sounds incredibly difficult. Yeah, it's difficult, but one day I understood that I just need to do it because somebody need to do it and I need to help people, but she does try to find beauty. She tries to stay optimistic, actually I still try to do my hair and try to dress well every day, even she still puts on cool outfits 'cause fashion was kind of her passion before this. And she told me that when she can find flowers, she buys flowers, kind of anything to remind her that.

"But let's get to the bottom line here. Why is John Gruden not offered forgiveness because if John Gruden was worth saving, here's they would do. They'd give him a two week suspension to go to some sort of racial reconciliation camp, which by the way, that's gonna be the new playbook. As soon as all of the Democrats start to get flagged as racist, they're gonna come up with this new playbook of like, well, he went to like a fat spot to go like lose weight, type equivalent thing. He's trying to get his life right. He went to racist anonymous, so now he's back in two weeks. Yeah, okay. I kid you not, that's gonna be the new because the only way the Democrats have to find a way to exempt themselves from the very totalitarianism and tyranny that they're inflicting upon us. And one of the ways they're going to do that is create this like racist anonymous support group through some sort of like, well, he's going to take a little bit of a hiatus when he's back and he's found the deep darkest corner of his soul. And he realized he was truly a racist and now he's going to be an ally of antiracist movement. But the real reason why they had to get rid of Jon Gruden is because he's a white, Catholic, conservative, male, who speaks out and they know that that can not be supported and offered forgiveness. That's the real reason this happened. And we call this cancel culture. We call this all these different sorts of things. I can't stand the term cancel culture. What it is is it's an avenge camp. It's trying to not it's not it's a revenge campaign against a certain group of people to try and purge society from the non believers. And you go through the list of people on the left that have said, how about Sarah Silverman? Why is she giving a pass? How about Jimmy Kimmel, who wore blackface? Governor Ralph northam of Virginia never resigned, despite either wearing blackface or a KKK hood how about joy behar? No, the reason why John Gruden resigned is Roger Goodell wanted him out. Is Roger Goodell, being a little Caesar overseeing the decline of a once great National Football League, one of the most incompetent, worst sports commissioners in history. What is he earned $32 million a year or something? He wants he wants Gruden gone. And because of that, he is his life has now been put in jeopardy. Now Gruden might bounce back, but Gruden's gonna have to go to the equivalent of racist anonymous and David McCullough's biography of Harry Truman revealed one of the most courageous Friends of American Jews and blacks ever had in The White House, frequently used words, I will not say on air. He even wrote them down in a letter. Home from New York, mister Truman described the city as I'm not going to say the sun area is going to get me and also I don't believe it. Was this unfortunate yes, important? No, defining of the man absolutely not. Every person listened to this has skeletons in your closet that if resurrected would destroy your life. Stop judging people based on theirs. Hey everybody, China is taken over the world. Do you know that you might be buying Chinese meat? Yeah. Well, I'm telling you right now, you need to buy American meat. I want you to imagine a 100,000 Americans losing their jobs. Well it's happened. Since 2015, over a 100,000 independent farms and ranches in the United States have shut down. Why? Because foreign meat coming into America being labeled as America meat very, very deceivingly labeled American meat is coming in. If you guys want a box of meat, comes to your door discreetly, it's phenomenal. Good ranchers dot com. Do you know that the product of USA tag has been stolen by foreign countries? They process their meat here and laid it like it came from the United States. Because of these labeling laws, that favor foreign imported meat over 100,000 independent American farms and ranches have closed since 2015. Good.

"We provided more than a dozen grain tubes to help real fire department safely. Complete brings in rescue missions on. And how both work if you're not familiar as it surrounds the victim and really prevents the grain from engulfing then and we know these tubes that we've donated have already resulted in some successful rescues. And personally. I can't think of anything more important than working. The lie alongside our cooperative partners to help them keep their patrons and community members safe But last year. On the whole as i look at the seats for stewardship program that i mentioned we've partnered with a total of sixteen member cooperatives on more than eighty local projects providing a dollar for dollar match for each one and for me. It all comes back to impact. Like i was saying earlier. This program just reminds me that when we worked together we can do more and we can multiply overall impact. Which again is really at the core of of what we do which leads me to my final question. Jessie what makes you optimistic about the future of rural america. Yeah i i guess i would say i am optimistic and it's all about the people. There is a special cooperative. Spirit that i think. exists in rural america. It's a fierce sense of pride and there's a sense of resiliency that's really unique to rule. American are real communities. "This is a round the table where we explore the benefits of cooperative ownership. And today. we're talking about how cooperatives give back to their local communities talking today with jesse hedrick leads the s. stewardship team. Jessie this has been a challenging year. What's different this year about. The ways co ops or giving back. Yeah mike i think you said it. It's been challenging one thing for sure. Twenty twenty has been a year for the books In terms of like different through the many twists in the many turns of the year. I think we've as the team at At just overall statistically within the stewardship department she's had to be much more nimble than ever before in our response to community needs But really the way. I look at that as it's just a part of what it means to be part of a cooperative rising to the needs of our owners in their communities including and perhaps especially in challenging times like this and you you said it best at the at the front end twenty twenty has been unusually challenging no doubt from dealing with both the health and economic effects of the pandemic Even to some of the recent natural disasters the jurado in iowa and surrounding states that damaged property and crops late in the growing season and the now recently the wildfires out west of burned homes and barns and displaced livestock Just a lot of unforeseen circumstances and challenges but We've looked at it as an opportunity to work alongside local cooperatives to really bring support to our real communities and the time of Unusual circumstances and events. You know i mentioned a second ago the wildfires out west As the fires burned more than one thousand residences in oregon were destroyed and thousands of community members were forced to evacuate and in response We came together to work alongside a number of cooperative owners Specifically up in the north to identify nonprofit groups that are providing support to farmers and ranchers and really those that are that were most severely impacted some who Devastatingly announced have lost everything. So we've partnered to provide some of the some access to the most basic basic of needs things like sheltering housing coding food and even some assistance to farmers and ranchers who light who's livestock were displaced so while twenty twenty thrown..

"Zoom another video. Conferencing tools are here to stay as businesses press pause on the return back to offices. It also means students may continue learning remotely so zoom is introducing a new feature to help keep kids be less distracted. Yeah that's right. zoom revealed. A new mode called focus and it's aimed specifically for teaching environments such as obviously being in class During the class the way it works is if when it's run through zoom and you're using this focus mode. Teachers will be able to see every student in class but students will only see the teacher. So when a student's view you'll have the usual zoom view but instead of seeing all those faces different tiles students will only see the names of other classmates in available windows but they won't hear their peers talking if there's any and they won't see any non verbal feedback or hear them when they're on muted basically just looks like it's the student and the teacher in the zoom at all times It also works to for teachers when they want to enable screen sharing so say an instructor is trying to do some kind of presentation and kids take turns presenting stuff in class. They can basically screen share with that individual child and then everybody else can focus on that. And there's not a zillion other pop ups that are there that are distracting And we've seen zoom take several steps over the last few months to shore up its platform as americans have grown more reliant on using videoconferencing like zoom a to get through working to get through school We just saw last month. Zim zum rolled out apps so basically it just merges popular productivity and entertainment services like games directly into the zoom window and they also launched an events tool to host hybrid meetings or conferences directly within zoom. So we're seeing a lot of different changes with the platform over these last couple months. Sounds pretty interesting. i mean. unfortunately we're going to be doing zoom for the foreseeable future. It sounds like in some fashion. You know whether it's school are worker. What are happy hours. Or whatever so Sounds cool

"So i'm reading more about this problem. Got in tokyo with the cova with the olympics. I think they said two weeks away. I don't have the slightest the take their word for it. That seems to be. I can't tell if it's a problem or not. They're not allowing any fans really. All the athletes are going to be vaccinated. So i suppose took tokio. Being hot better. Cova is not really a thing. Well we're going to allow a limited number of japanese fans in the stands but no international fans at all and the japanese people. I think if things do start to go sideways they'll down very quickly and everybody will cooperate. And i think they can minimize any serious problem. Honestly i don't know. I'm just not excited about the olympics for whatever combination of reasons. I know as a couple of weeks ago. Only three percent of japanese adults had been vaccinated. Which is a very small number. Now unless they've ramped up that really fast really hard they're going to be a of vaccinated people in the stands. No no i think you have to show a covert negative cova test. And i can't remember how it's gonna work. But i don't know i'm actually much more concerned with the question of whether indeed the olympics in china are gonna come off. I haven't heard anybody seriously. Says suggesting they're not no. But i haven't heard anybody who's smart say that there's any way they can possibly happen. So it's kind of in between those two things. There's no way. All the countries of the world are going to gather in china and do the olympics. Like it's normal. There's just no way that's going to happen yet. No no countries officially said they're not. Yeah i wonder. I it's just a question of the look. There are totalitarian regime with slave camps side versus the every time there's a boycott back and forth we decided was a bad idea. Not just keep the exchange. Not this all about sports and would it would be ridiculous to go to china. And to let the g. stand there with adoring crowd cheering him on that'd be ridiculous looking like winnie the pooh for the world to do that. I'm so why aren't you excited about the olympics. I'm not either. But i can't figure out why. Why why. why are you got no interest in it. It's combination of the You know sports becoming politics The greed the corruption of the international olympic committee. I don't know. I don't know maybe eight i don't know i like sports. Watch sport of it. the presentation has gotten. We've talked about this every olympics for years now the presentation has gotten you hear about everything before it happens. Yeah that's that's a serious issue if you're younger you don't know that this used to be the case but pre internet and everything like that. You turn on the olympics at night. You didn't have the slightest idea if the if if the united states is going to win the gold medal in this. Or what are you no idea. It was all surprise. Well now you've heard it and seeing the highlights and heard the and then heard the backlash against the athlete. Because somebody dug up an old tweet of. There's so you've heard all this stuff happens right. Yeah just not the same thing. Yeah yeah that's that's probably pretty been factored out to think about it. I've been slowly losing interest over years. I'll still flip it on there. Still events i've really like i'm trying to. I'm trying to think if there's something missing you know part of it might be one of the biggest things. We have a golden force in the olympics. Every single years are women's gymnastics team. That turned to be out to be shot through with rapists and rapists supporters at every level willing to let little girls be raped by grown men and turn a blind eye to it if they could keep the gold medals turned out. So you know. How excited can you get for that. Yeah the the gal themselves. They're worthy of our admiration horse. But you're in the whole thing if you get excited about aren't you in a way. Yeah in a way and plus. I think there's also swimming turned out to be just as bad. So see. Got a whole bunch of rapists women's volleyball how 'bout you rapists running these organizations the ios's corrupt who you're supposed to be rooting for here other than the athletes themselves. Yeah yep true. Plenty of as many of whom hate america circling back to the the young dunderheads in georgetown. Anytime it becomes about patriotism and the flag and usa usa. You get the blowback. Maybe that's so. It's just a combination of factors a stew of apathy who ordered the apathy. Stu who cares. I wonder what an opening ceremony with You know a quarter filled crowd would be like mall. I just yeah. I got no feeling for whatsoever. Just get together in the stadium floor and do origami or something. I'll just run around. He i think you one all right man. That'll.

"Of things about this country are really embarrassing. Just like i mean racist. History colonization even currently. Just what's going on with politics and the cops. Okay go move to major country. That was not involved in colonization. Go ahead i'll give you give it a little time to figure out which one you wanna go to exactly any culture on earth that has an expanded or taken resources or whatever. Good luck anyway. So what are we hearing here. Cables reform which is fabulous website organization was on the streets georgetown in washington. Dc talking to college students. All of them were woman women. It was a woman asking the questions. I don't know if that's a coincidence. But they're asking about if they're proud of this country and that sort of thing and it is a both unintentionally hilarious and in troubling. Let's go ahead with fifty one. Are you proud to be an american. No i feel embarrassed to be an american every day. I think that's a complicated question for me. I think. I i. I think most of the time no at least over the past four years. It's been tricky to love to be an american half. Seize on that like partly 'cause like i feel like there's certain topics where it's like very controversial but like i don't know i would honestly bother kind of live somewhere else. Wow wow well. The the lack of depth of opinion the same at that point but he shouldn't be asked anything. You shouldn't offer any opinion. You shouldn't go into streets and demonstrate. You have no idea what you're talking about. Go ahead with fifty two. Not most of the time i think. Sometimes it's just a little embarrassing. We claim to support everyone. But you know we continue to support israel which is you know which are dislocating quite a few palestinian people. And that's you know it's sad. I don't know i think our economy just cares about money. Not like are like humans like yeah in general. I wouldn't say that. I am as proud as i was but i would still say there's a little bit of country pride statement our economy just about money claim to like support everyone but we support israel. Geez is asking earlier when we were playing. This is is there. Is there ever been a country in the history of the world that taught. It's elite young people. Because if you get to go to college you are. By definition among the elite if has any country ever taught at young people to hate thrown country to focus on the flaws and hate their own country. I gosh not that i can think of. It seems like a hell of an experiment to conduct. And it's just weird man. It's just weird. How how do you get there. Yeah i'd say fifty. Three american dream is so thought after that if not even a thing anymore even really think it's there is an american jim really anymore. I mean like. I would bother kind of live somewhere else i mean. I don't know. I'd say that it's like the greatest. Didn't like the olympic skull infix. Okay you know in their defense. You shouldn't ask. The problem is college. Kids think i did to college. Kids think they know what's up. You just do sure and you you got. You got the worst of things going. Yeah graduate high school. Woo a plant can do that. And then because you're out on your own and you're an adult and then because you're young because you're not old so on one end of it. I'm old enough to know this. But because i'm not old i know this you older people are just wrong about all these things right here in the sweet spot of maximum intelligence at age. Twenty exactly. and you've just been taught really interesting things by your suave. Professors got you harassment. You hop right exactly fifty five. Have you ever considered moving to another country. Oh absolutely think. I had joked about it like joked. Was you know fully seriously. I'm going to move to canada. Yeah i mean i personally. I'm the type of person that likes to help people so i was. I would actually consider going someplace like more with more poverty. Yeah probably would you be willing to give up your us citizenship. Yeah i mean sought that necessary. I mean i can still take vacations here. Okay and finally go ahead. If you name a country that's more welcoming than the united states who Not really. I don't really know that i don't really have that much information. Keenum a better country than the united states in your opinion. I'm not sure if i can. I don't think i can I mean there's probably a really tiny european country that thriving. Ooh the question at europe europe's not a country you go. You know what i'm saying. Worry child go to something else. No one answer was Was fine some tiny european country that those are always there what are held up as the standard of. Why can't we be like this. What a tiny country. That has all of the same race in all of the same religion. Yeah exactly yes they they all they do fun and everybody knows everybody and and they get to exist because the united states supports the world order. If the united states didn't do that you'd be taken over by russia or china or somebody like that tomorrow because you don't have a military right now. Yeah what an odd experiment. We're running here and i. I wish we could run some sort of simulation where people can see what the world would look like if you took the united states out of the equation and was not protecting that world order. I was just talking about and how quickly you know. The china's and the iran's of the world would assert their power. And you might not like the way they run things Whether yeah for gay rights women's rights quality for anybody religious freedom. Any of those things. You might not like the way the world works. Once you take the united states out of the mix similar quote. I heard the other day similar to that of asking for perspective. Somebody pointed out that the kids in particular college professors are always demanding that the free market capitalism if you will needs to justify itself because it's unfair inequitable evil volleyball and he said capitalism doesn't need to defend itself. Every other system does because every single time they've been tried they've resulted in poverty. The free market is lifted billions of people out of poverty. Billions and yes. Because it's all we know we just see his flaws and assume that there is a better more perfect system all right.

"It's been tricky to you. Know love to be an american half. Seize on that like partly. Because like i feel like there's certain topics where it's like very controversial but like i don't know i would honestly bother kind of live somewhere else all right. We got more have strongly held opinions. That have really nothing beneath them. No basis we've got more on that coming up later as a more college girls were asked questions about how they feel about their country and whatnot. That one girl in there i hate her. The other ones are just you know. I think you're misinformed. I pretty sure hate that one. I came across the central. Remember what i was reading ours. Listen to a youtube video. I know it wasn't somebody quoted. Cs lose it. Louis about hell. Now i have been my my My circumstances have put me in a mom. Not the most optimistic mood of the last several weeks and months but Came across this thing about cs lewis his definition of hell. And there's a couple of different things that i really liked before i get to the money shop. Oh this is good. I hadn't even seen this. One help begins with a grumbling. Mood always complaining always blaming others actually think some of this fits in with those college kids in there You know their their view of america. He just came across a red thread. That was all about how there is no future. And there's no point and then this is the worst time to be alive and the rest of it. Listen to this quote from cs lewis and this was written in guessing the forties. We must picture hal. As a state where everyone is perpetually concerned about his own dignity and advancement where everyone has a grievance and where everyone lives the deadly serious passions of envy self-importance and resentment while pretty much like the average college age person or a lot of older people If you're all caught up in your envy self-importance in resentment. You are probably in jalan that is in your blaming society for the way you feel you know. There's an element of that in jd vance's fabulous hillbilly allergy to that that attitude and it has hellish consequences expound on that that's interesting because jd answers now running for the senate in ohio He he was not obviously not talking about the elite college kids on a campus Yeah i just. I think it's the attitude of constant grievous and grievance rather and blaming others for your circumstance just You know and you can get that. On the low end of the totem pole or the high end of the totem pole. It would seem. Oh yeah i think. It's a constant temptation for humankind. No matter where you are financially or or socially more on hal from cs lewis the safest road to hell is. The gradual won the gentle slope soft underfoot without sudden turnings without milestones without signposts. That's pretty good to just gradually with your the attitude we were just talking about. You just gradually had their next thing. You know you're miserable and blaming everyone else and then finally which fits in with all that the doors of hell are locked from the inside which is absolutely freaking fantastic. Oh the doors of heller locked from the inside. You can open them. Get out if you want. Change your attitude changes situation. Look at things differently or you can just stew in your own misery and just continue to obsess over yourself. Wow see i thought he meant the opposite. I thought wait a minute locked from the inside. that's wrong that's you're not trapped there. Oh that was his point. Wow so true. They mentioned that the highway the highway to hell has no stop signs speed limits but that that is one i will think about the doors to hell or locked from the inside. If i'm if. I'm feeling like i'm in hell well then. Why don't i unlocked them. And come out. Yeah wow heavy man. It's pretty good stuff right there. Yeah it is it is. Let's see where do we go from here on the time. We have disney's evil. I don't know if you knew that kids are going to be at disney this weekend. Oh supporting evil good. That's nice super which which way or the evil well number one. Everybody thinks disneyland disneyworld and delightful movies and that's all true but they're deemed willie very gigantic kilometer with unsinkable extensive holdings in real estate and technology in in hotels in it also there a gigantic corporation. He's got the hantavirus spreading all over and they don't care who they crush couple of stories involving disney. They have dropped boys and girls from their fireworks greeting to be more inclusive. Now right they used to say ladies and gentlemen boys and girls and dreamers of all ages who do not use gender language to to address everyone the fireworks other than that gentleman there who was upset about gender language. How many of your patrons ever think about that ever ever one out of a million and they can shut up. Why i just. I can't believe that these corporations were politicians or whoever that you know what it is. It's what i was talking about earlier. Twitter is the most misleading thing that's ever happened to mankind. People believe twitter is the world and nut jobs going crazy over gender language they think. Oh this is what everybody's talking. Nobody's talking about this sort. We'd county laughing complaints today via social media nice twitter. Nobody is actually worried about using boys and girls. Nobody's going to be offended. And if one weirdo is they'll still probably come to your park and they can walk around in hell us lewis said if they want or they won't come. You'll be fine right right. Well i agree completely. And then the other story i wanted to bring to your attention is that dan crenshaw the the congressmen the combat veteran with the eye patch. You remember them. Don't cheese fabulous fellow. Well he was condemning That athlete who turned her back on the flag and the rest of it old. What's her name berry. Gwen berry and and blasting back on the ridiculous evil. Social media was actor. what's his first name dave bautista. Who's one of the guardians of the galaxy. Guys a big marvel movie star. Dude many got into a twitter war with them which is fine and he made some interesting points but then he called crenshaw an effing. twa t. Compared he'd compared hit the trump to hitler all sorts of stuff no discipline whatsoever for marvel disney anything like that. Wow how does that stand. In contrast with gina carano who tried to make an innocent point about america's so divided. It's like nazi germany. She.

"Them. They don't care. It's not going to be on the evening news in beijing lower. Remember talking to guys who had just come home. Ten years ago describing the rules of engagement during the obama administration and how incredibly suffocating they were and they were not allowed to return fire without special authorizations and and so they could just absolutely get surrounded by the taliban while they were filling out paperwork and china's not going to do that. Somebody just sold a picasso painting for one hundred and fifty thousand dollars that they'd found in their closet so check your closets today. I'm pretty sure. I don't have any picasso's in my closet i will have some snowboarding gear that i haven't used in many years and probably doesn't fit maybe a badminton racket. I have a camera tripod. i bought for some reason couple of unstylish at this point. Jackets all haven't been stylish for some time and then there's a shoebox that i haven't opened in a very long time because it's full of papers that i i'd have to go through and maybe next weekend i'll get to those. Yeah doing fine where they are. Nothing's happened the irs hasn't thrown in jail. The police haven't shown up. How important could it be right. But i'm pretty sure there are no picasso's in my closet. I drummed up the stuff. I wanted to get to on hell from. Cs lewis so. I thought that's pretty interesting. Can bring that to you if you have any comments on the whole afghanistan thing. I don't think most of you care enough to even comment on an actually text line. Four one five two nine five. Ftc who used to do the topic of. Why don't you care about this. Call us at this number. Get no calls. We finally figured that out. Yeah if people don't care they.

"Abraham lincoln radio studio and the george washington broadcast center jack armstrong and joe getty armstrong and getty show so earlier in the program. We talked to mike lines. He's one of our favorites military strategists. And just an expert all around and that sort of stuff. We wanted to talk about afghanistan to give you an idea of weight. Some people feel about. This is mark stein last night on afghanistan for twenty as american taxpayers have trained and paid an afghan national army. That's fallen apart. In twenty minutes here they are surrendering to the taliban. Don't all throw down your weapons at once. Lads over a thousand. So-called afghan national army troops have fled into tadjikhistan so to gca. Stan has sent twenty thousand reservists to secure it southern border. We can't secure our southern border. Because we're too busy training. Afghans to flee across to gca stan southern border you can have the best bombs the best jets the best and the bravest men and as real commanders of known since shabri in athens two and a half million a year ago. None of that means anything without strategy and will. That's a decent point right there. Stein's a terrific writer anyway. He is just amazing. I love it when he feels on that in on that prime time show because clearly. He's writing his own monologues and stuff there but his ultimate point of wanting to stay in afghanistan. I don't agree with. I agree with their that. We had no strategy. And there's no will among the american people to to stay for good reason. I think but if there's no will be there and there hasn't been for a very long time you know. Why are you still there. Well it's interesting. In the beginning of it and again i love his writing. He was mocking the idea of training up the afghan forces to make them a self sustaining security force. But that that is the mission that is the the strategy agree with what we're doing now or not mike wines. Who like i said. We really respect his opinion. He had a lot to say on the subject. Well i do agree. We should've been out. Maybe five years ago. I think donald trump should have made it a priority of his administration when he first got elected and just Basically gave everybody the heisman and said this is what we're doing The military industrial complex though wasn't finished testing equipment wasn't finished the on. The army still didn't have mission couldn't figure out how they're going to make that happen. I do think it's the right thing it's going to be back to the future. Though we're going back to nineteen ninety nine and two thousand and one very quickly. The civil war will start the taliban now control. Something like eighty percent of the land districts in in the country. Already we've just built this over the horizon standoff military now where we don't feel that we need logistical basis in places like this. I think we're going to be proven wrong. I think that that would have been a great idea to keep this airbase and keep these kind of lily pads that exist either in the ocean or in certain landmasses. Because we'd have no friends now and that part of the world We don't have any in pakistan. We're not doing anything. Obviously in india and a like. You're aware that afghanistan actually has a border with china in addition to all those middle eastern countries that we We have problems with right. Actually has a border with china and we could've kept our military base there. I haven't heard any good reason for why we haven't have you other than politically. It would look bad. I just i still. I still don't buy that. I just think it's the idiotic. We need to end the war in afghanistan. America's longest war which hasn't been a war in years and years. It's just been a an occupation assisting the the hapless afghans and you know. I've advocated for a long time. Do more or less what we've been doing the last several years. Keep that lily. Pad is as mike. Put it because i think it's of strategic importance and have enough troops to to fend off the taliban should they come a column and to help the afghan government stand on its own but that's not an communicate that to america. Look we're not at war anymore. This is a strategic place though. And we're going to hold onto the turf. We have china's on one end pakistan and iran or on the other end. Let's keep our military base there in american saying all right. That'd be the total reaction. Okay or leave or whatever. I don't know i wasn't paying attention to that anyway. Because we're in dozens of countries. It's i think that is really going to come back to bite us in the ass. You know might be fifty years from now but anyway one of the other main topics with mike lines that you didn't hear there. We brought up the whole getting interpreters out thing. The seventeen thousand is that the right number. Interpreters that xavier are. It's a big number of people that helped us out over the years as their family members plus their family members and a whole bunch of others in In every town in every province in afghanistan or on our side for and there's a decent chance. The taliban is gonna kill those people and for of red tape and bureaucracy. Were not going to get them out. I had been hearing news stories. That sounded like we were going to do something and get them out and there okay cool mike lyons stated right there. No we're not it's just not possible to do. There's too many of them. There's not enough time. We're not going to get them out so you know. We didn't drill down very hard into that. I'm just curious whether that just get them into topeka stan. Because i think that's where it was proposed that they're stored right and we'll do the paperwork while they're there that sounds at least somewhat implementable to me but there are thousands of people. I guess spread out all over the whole country and they'd be probably infiltrated by taliban guys i don't know i don't know what an ugly mess. Yeah did i hear. China's going to like jump ugly in afghanistan or yes desert. There will alex by the way alex who you heard his voice last hour. We already got a text alec. Sucks bring sean back. So welcome to the show allies. Like me you really like me. Yeah welcome alex. China ramping up afghanistan involvement amid us withdrawal china appears to be preparing to ramp up its involvement as us troops complete their withdrawal with beijing. Eyeing the war torn nation for investment and infl- influence opportunities. Well joe shirley walk. Just good luck with influence. The rocks and goats. I hope you spend a lot of money. And a lot of soldiers trying to influence all those rocks and all those goats. Yeah vlad putin. And joe biden or say to each other. Can you believe this. Have you seen nothing. The graveyard of empires. The brits did it knee. Eighteen hundreds the soviets did it in the eighties. Nine hundred eighty s and we did it over the last twenty years not a graveyard for us but no didn't accomplish anything not after the first couple of years you know about. Say not a graveyard but definitely a quagmire. Do you remember when there was that. Stupid argument isn't a quagmire. Oh it's not a quagmire. It's a quagmire diggity. So dick cheney said the other day we're out of the business. Yes dick cheney still alive. He said the other day Were out of the business of installing a democracies good. It doesn't work very well if you want it more than they want it. It ain't gonna happen eight. China have a good time in afghanistan. They do have the advantage of they. Don't care about what happens. And how it looks on the world stage you don't think they're going to prosecute their soldiers for taking a picture next to a dead guy right. Yeah yeah or we were. Even you know that one's That's ridiculous sean. But then even awful stuff if they have to. You know they get shelled from somewhere. They'll just obliterate that area. Oh you killed the whole wedding party. That just happened to be there. Bad luck for.

I hope so mica. How about you anything Aviation wise In your future or or that you've done recently. Yeah this past weekend actually in two weeks ago Captain craig who flies for acme regional and his little embraer One seventy not that little actually up here and we went out to breakfast Couple of saturdays and this saturday. We went out to the runway restaurant. Out in lymington where We went to a couple of together. Max and had a great time visiting with him Hope to get back there and And talk to the owner there so that was Been very very exciting and then there was something else that That i heard about that that needs to be brought up. Apparently you know cirrus aircraft. I don't know if we know anyone that is familiar with serious but they They awarded the twenty twenty series approached safety award to To this guy named max trescott. Apparently and i've heard great things about him i hear. He's a brilliant flight instructor. And and really personally. I think we should invite him on the show sometime. Yeah maybe we should. Maybe we should Would you have to say for yourself. Mr trescott deeply honored and flattered. They give out One safety award for the entire world if you will and you know for the two thousand twenty award which they awarded here and twenty twenty one They gave it to me last year. It went to collectively. All of the c- triple p. instructors so those are the people that teach in the weekend long programs that are part of the series owner pilots association training programs But in awarding this they specifically cited my work with aviation news talk and the focus on the safety You know in in that. So yeah. I quite Quite flatter to to get this award it was presented remotely essentially via zoom. Because of the you know the the pandemic But again yeah. It was really pulling award. Yeah congratulations that's really nice. Yeah there's one other thing. I need to say about max stress too. That's very important. Actually i may have mentioned a couple of times. I have a cousin east about five years old. I am that flies and he has for years and years and years. He said nope nope. I can't i can't deal with the digital cockpit. I can only fly steam gauges. I just don't understand it digital cockpit can't read that you thousand for years and years and years i said. Why don't you get that book by max trescott. Why don't you get g one thousand book. He wrote it. I'm sure it's good. I've never read it. I don't fly but he said no. No finally this year. I got it for and i sent it to him and he actually opened it up. Read it and he says wow. This is great. I understand it now. I can fly it. Why didn't i get this before. Mike how come you didn't tell me that this book is going to really work for me. And he is absolutely thrilled and delighted. And it's finally flying g one thousand understanding. It still needs some work on it. He said because we know when he gets trying to change some things on it while he's in the middle of flying he can't quite concentrate both ways but he's able to do it and he's not afraid anymore so i've got thank you max for him off my back. That was a fun project to to write. And i did it. Gosh the first edition came out in two thousand six. Because i had gone to the cessna factory with a client who was picking up a brand new two. Oh six of that time they gave. I think it was a full five day. Maybe it was only three but we were there most of the week to to learn the g. one thousand and i walked away going man. I'm a smart guy. Come getting this. What i realized was yeah weeks later. Oh no there's need for better documentation. Someone has to write a book. So i took all my notes and tried to write it from a pilot perspective and kind of organize it the way a pilot with think about using glass cockpit all right. We haven't across the pond segment from our friend. Peter johnson This is this is a great conversation. So listen to peter and the interesting guest. He spoke with.

"Com titles american and once you get past all the clutter of the page. You can actually find the article in the titles. American airlines asking dallas based employees to volunteer to work without pay as travel skyrockets. Well certainly that headline caught my attention because typically when people work they work for pay. You can certainly volunteer for nonprofit organization but people don't usually think of volunteering for their employer but American airlines according to this story is asking employees to volunteer to work outside their normal hours without additional pay in there are many other sources which say essentially the same thing. I'll get to a moment. One other source. I just found. Because i was thinking. This just doesn't sound right but the The story says that The dallas based airline is asking non union employees from their headquarters to help staffers out at the airport including travelers in the international terminal among other tasks and they are asking for volunteers to take on three six hour shifts per week working at the airport. They say that one of the benefits of that headquarters team will get to know a little bit more about the airport operation and what goes on there. Interestingly the story also says that delta back in may ask. it's staffers to volunteer to take on additional work shifts again at says with no extra pay out of atlanta. They mentioned here. That airport screened one point. Nine million people. And i've seen since this article came out. There have been several days. Where more than two million people have been in the airport so the first place i went to when i just thought boy. This doesn't sound right was a story about the fairly labor fair labor standards act the f. l. essay and there's a nice big headline here that says can employ or hire an unpaid intern person. And they say most of the time. The answer is no for profit plight private employers they cannot accept free labor and then i did finally find one story over simple flying dot com and this one is totally different from the many other stories Which basically say hey. These people are working for free and in it. It says that Let's see it says there will be no additional compensation however the six hour shifts will count as part of an employee's weekly hours. The program is entirely free of choice..

One more thing on the actual jobs data adhering to the policy of this program that if we stop talking about this stuff, we're gonna stop talking about it. White unemployment 6% last month black unemployment 9.9%. Virus. As I believe I've said a time or two on this show and his, Neela said about three minutes ago is in charge of this economy right now. So who gets the vaccine for it? And when is gonna have a lot to do with how this economy goes among the slices of this economy that lost the most jobs last month? Restaurants and travel and leisure. So it's of note that in Washington, D. C next month, restaurant workers move up in the vaccine line marketplaces Jasmine Garza has that one. Listen, Layne bartenders at several different places in Washington, D C, she says. Even with the pandemic, raging patrons waiting for food and drink, recited that it was okay to take off your mask. If you're sitting down at this table, it's like OK, so the virus stops if you're sitting down, which puts servers like her at risk many times a day, she says. Vaccinating restaurant workers. It definitely is an acknowledgment that restaurant workers are important and we are often exposed to disease without any health insurance and vaccines won't just protect the health of workers. They could be key to rebuilding the health of the restaurant industry. More than 100,000 restaurants have closed temporarily or for good since the pandemic began. Hundreds of thousands of restaurant workers have lost their jobs and millions of people have stopped eating out. William Wheaton is an economist at M. I T. He says. Good at the restaurant industry. It is really hard for city destroyed. That's that's you know, Half the reason people live in cities, Saeko CV heads up Restaurant Opportunities centers, United and advocacy group, he says.
