"With regards to your roadmap, I know you mentioned where you guys are doing expanding and looking for new companies and so forth. Anything else on the 2024 roadmap that you want to highlight? I know one of the things I spoke to Joe about, Joe Endoso and even Nick was the project that's being worked on where the XRP ledger and poly sign and atomic settlement and XRP being used in that. Any updates on that project that you can share? You know what, that is a very good question, Tony, because I know we are exploring building on taking our platform to a decentralized exchange and the future of tokenizing the assets on our platform. As far as where we are in that roadmap, I'm not certain. I believe, we just even brought on a new blockchain lead, I want to say product manager this week, who I just met him, he's a phenomenal gentleman with past experiences working in the commodity sector or building out systems for the commodities at large. I believe that there's a lot going on and for me being my role, I'm usually the last guy to hear about some things, Tony, because I'm the guy that's supposed to broadcast it to the community at large and I think I do a really good job at that and so they got to protect that information before it gets to me. So, but I believe that we're definitely tooling on those technologies and I'm really excited. Actually, I'm also going to be interviewing Jack McDonald, the CEO of PolySign at Coinalts next week in San Francisco, he'll be interviewing or having a keynote speech with Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse. So, maybe that's a question that I'll ask him when I'm there. That'd be awesome, yeah. Absolutely. I know these things are still in the pipeline being worked on and not ready for production yet, but yeah, if they can give any updates, that'd be awesome.I did want to get your thoughts because it's such a big topic right now with the BlackRock Bitcoin spot ETF situation going on. This year was huge for institutional adoption for crypto where they kind of came out and put all their cards on the table. We kind of know what everybody's plan is now. Now it's a race, right? And the line is growing around the block for that ETF. What are your thoughts and do you think we get an approval sometime in the next six months or so? You know what, I'm hopeful for regulations to move in that fashion. I'm thinking that obviously we hear that there are Bitcoin ETFs, maybe they roll out other assets that can follow suit. So, it's to be determined and I'm very excited for what's to come. I think it's just to your point in an earlier conversation, I think it's going to be even timely with 2024. So we'll see what happens and we'll have to hop onto another interview and talk about all the excitement that it's going to bring. For sure. Ray, always a pleasure, my friend. Thank you for joining me and looking forward to your interview with Jack and Brad Garlinghouse and future updates around LINK2. Absolutely. Tony, thank you for having me, sir. It's quite the privilege and I look forward to seeing you in Vegas, sir. Thank you.

"But back to your question in regards to the crypto companies, I just think that even the industry leaders. I know that we're going to be bringing on some really great and proud, well-known and respected portfolio companies that are tech enabled, that are leveraging DLT and things like that, but I still just want to bring focus back to the companies that are currently on our platform right at this time, Circle, Uphold, PolySign, Ripple, who else, BitPay and a few others. So, I just recommend your audience members to visit link2.com and see the breadth of portfolio companies on our platform. But even like I mentioned, or even since your last interview with Mr. B, Link2's Director of Member Investments, Nick Birafato, we've passed 366,000 members worldwide with over 290 million in total member investments. And even this past month of September, we welcomed over 75,000 new members. And so, with that being said, as mentioned, we're scaling up our personnel operations, portfolio companies. These weren't blockchain-centric companies, but these are still high-quality companies. We brought on our platform recently, Astronis, Ulta Pharmacy, Psi Quantum, TAE Technologies. So, these are companies that are focusing either on aerospace, health tech, quantum computing or energy fusion. So again, we have a tight affinity to blockchain, but just keep in mind, we're also targeting other verticals that we believe have just as high growth potential. Oh yeah. And I love it, as a user at a platform, getting access to these companies that are going to be essentially part of the future and how the future is going to be built out. Like with aerospace, AI, and all these different things, I mean, I feel like we're at the start of a new industrial revolution as we did in the early 1900s with the automobile and the electricity and the light bulb. We're having that now with AI, crypto, blockchain, aerospace, tech, and all of that, right? It's the next frontier that's happening. It's pretty amazing to watch all these things unfold. A hundred percent. And I even feel, even though, like for instance, where I mentioned Astronis or other aerospace companies, I believe that it's still, I mean, it's not blockchain, but they're still leaning in on AI. They're still leveraging systems that I believe are going to be compatible with the future financial framework, allowing that value data to move across network. And why I bring this up is because Astronis is they're making low orbit satellites similar to Starlink. And so I feel like we hear that that might be involved with emerging distributed ledger technology, finance, crypto, D for all the above. And so I feel like, even though they're separate verticals, I still think it's, like you mentioned, it's all interconnected with this big movement towards leveraging technology and streamlining processes that have been in a way just, I don't want to say slow and clunky, but because they were much better than their previous model or technology. And so I just feel like we're just progressing and now regulations and things need to catch up. And so we're just really excited to be sitting in this front seat, front row of you and your community and crypto, and those that just have their thumb on the poles.

"So I'm hopeful, I'm optimistic, and I think I share that same perspective with not just many of my colleagues here at Link2 in the digital asset space, but I mean, I think even people in just traditional finance as well and beyond, I mean, people are catching tune to Ripple and this new way of shepherding in internet of value, a new century of modern finance. But I just think that we're coming to those crossroads. How soon? I can't put my thumb, I mean, I can't tell you when, but I just say I'm optimistic that it's sooner rather than later. For sure. Yeah, I'm hoping 2024 is better for the markets overall. And obviously, we go through these cycles of boom and bust maybe every 10 years or so, recession happens and hopefully we're at the tail end of it and we're in a much better place next year. I'm certainly excited for the Bitcoin halving we've seen that historically has triggered what would be considered the crypto bull market and excited to see how things progress. Are there other crypto companies that have been added to the platform recently? Are there others that you may not be able to give names, but you're exploring right now to add to the Link2 platform? We really great question, Tony, and thank you because I know that we have a very firm affinity to blockchain, digital assets and crypto. We have on our platform, like we just mentioned Ripple, Circle, PolySign, even ourselves Link2, but all I can say, I can't spill the beans and say which companies are coming to the platform or that we have our eye on. But what I can say is we are definitely scaling up our operations from features, portfolio companies, personnel, I mean, even our marketing team went from three people last year to now we're, I believe, about 15.

"So Ray, I'm going to ask you, I'm going to put you on the spot right now. I don't know if you can talk about it. Any predictions as to when Ripple might do an IPO? I know right now it's not conducive in this quantitative tightening period, but look, maybe 2024 will have more liquidity, more optimism. Do you think it happens in 2024? You know what, Tony? I'm hopeful for something like that, that's in line with what the Bitcoin happening, that's in line with a few other narratives as well. I mean, I had the privilege of attending Circle NYC Forum or Circle Forum NYC, which was also coordinated around the same time as Ripple's proper party in New York City. So the same day of Ripple's proper party, I went to Circle Forum NYC to link to his pre-proper party and then Ripple's proper party. But where I'm getting at is at Circle Forum NYC, Jeremy Allaire, the CEO, had said proudly on stage, he believes that 2024 is going to be the year that USDC or stablecoins are considered real money. So I think that would be very timely with regulations and things like that being firmed up and that would put, I believe, Ripple in a very good position as they are a company that has pioneered many of these, helped pioneer the framework that's embodying these new technologies such as ISO 20022 payment repository. So I think there's, and we haven't even, I'm not even tap dancing into the patents and the relationships that they have developed for themselves as well. So global relationships with some of the largest financial institutions and banks.

"Welcome back to the Thinking Crypto Podcast, your home for cryptocurrency news and interviews. With me today is Ray Fuentes, who's the Community Director at Link2. Ray, it's great to have you on, my friend. Tony, it's quite the privilege to be on your podcast, sir. I'm a huge fan. Thank you for having me. For sure. We obviously bumped into each other recently at the Ripple Proper Party. It was a real good time. Did you have a good time at the party as well? I had an amazing time, Tony, and it's so funny because when I think back of the event itself, all I could see is you wearing your famous, I love Gary t-shirt, Gary Gensler t-shirt. Just kidding, but it was great bumping into you, it was great bumping into the XRP community and the energy was high. We got to dance to Lenny Kravitz. That took me back to a really great time just getting dropped off at school by my mom because all we would do is listen to... We literally had a Lenny Kravitz CD playing for quite some time, maybe a couple of years of middle school into high school, but regardless, it took me back to a great time of just dancing with my mom and also she was even there at the Ripple Proper Party alongside. Oh, that's great. Yeah, so it was a good time and it was even... Some other takeaways are obviously bumping into you, DAI, Brad Kimes, Stu Alderati, and others from the space as well and where I'm going is it was really exciting to hear even Brad Garlinghouse lean in and talk about XRP Las Vegas 2024 and so kudos to Brad Kimes and his team for what I believe they're going to be hosting another successful conference in Vegas come 2024. So hopefully I have an opportunity to MC that like I did last year and maybe you'll be there this year, hopefully. Yeah, I'm hoping to be there. I couldn't make it this year due to some family issues, but yeah, I have it on the calendar and I'm definitely going to try to make it out and it's Vegas, so it should be fun. Yeah, it should be a really good time and it wouldn't be the same without you. So I'm looking forward to seeing you there, sir. Now, since we're on the topic of Ripple, with the ruling in Ripple's favor for the large part, XRP being declared a security in many different instances, was there a higher demand for Ripple equity, which is already something that's been on your platform, on the link to platform after that ruling, was there a higher demand? Absolutely, Tony, 100%, I mean, around even this time last week, if you were to look at link, if you did look at link to his website, we were hovering around 285 million in total member investments. Now fast forward to today, or even since the Ripple proper party, we're now succeeded past 293 million. Now I'm not saying all of that is generated because of Ripple, because it's not. We have thankfully a breadth of high quality private companies, including PolySign, Axiom Space, Zipline, Cerebrum Systems. So we're seeing demand for all of these companies in addition to Ripple, but definitely Ripple is driving the volume for that essentially, I mean, I think we saw about 10 million in investments since roughly around this time, even last week. So we are picking up steam, we are ramping up and we're definitely seeing the demand. So in regards to the lawsuit, XRP has, yes, been declared, thankfully, not a security and the SEC can appeal that. So right now, I think it's safe to say XRP is the only digital asset in the USA with legal clarity and I believe people are picking up on what's coming down the pike and it's an exciting time, not just for link to, not just for the XRP community, but I believe for crypto at large.

younger let's let's show photographs of the plaque surrounding both of their hearts and judge their age by that shall we yeah you want you also tweeted old enough to remember when Patriot meant one who loves America and not guy with a bald eagle fetish who hates lots of other Americans thank you right that's yeah I gotta say Joe that's one of the things I hate the most is that when you see a you know pickup truck or an something American with flag you just immediately instead of feeling yeah you feel like oh right -wing Trumper you don't like we've got to take back what you just talked about what it means to be American the flag patriotism take back the Bible while you're at it to take back the Bible from the Philistines and frauds take back the flag from these corrupt Stooges and fascists I mean are we even going to have a government in weeks two and in ten days my god Matt Gaetz is so childish he pays himself for sex at this point like Kevin McCarthy is Kevin like one of those like like humiliation fetish S &M slaves who forgot his safe word is that what's going on here because he's just a punching bag for these people he is pathetic here let's oh now that you've asked yes kevie go ahead Kevin McCarthy number six yes creating the sense that I don't understand why anybody votes against bringing the idea and having the debate and then you got all the amendments if you don't like this this is a whole new concept of individuals that just want to burn the whole place it doesn't work it just it's like he just discovered just now that there's a bunch of lunatics in his caucus that he can't control my god we need the government functioning to go after Hunter Biden people saying at the top of the show John is so dumb is because Trump told them to shut it down to stop the prosecutions and is not going to stop the continues DOJ anybody knows that you know whether it's as you said Hunter Biden or Trump Donald the DOJ is not going to be defunded no no it's not then again you know I I just this is what the Republican Party is now this is what they become and if they want to have a BS impeachment that goes nowhere of a president and to shut down the government again on the eve of a presidential election year oh well go ahead guys why is it Paul a lot of times two former Republicans to talk out talk about how because they always make it like this is about spending Joe Scarborough it's not about balancing the budget we've been through it Republicans don't care balancing the budget and they haven't for the past 20 years especially when Republicans are in the White House Donald Trump spent more money with this Congress than any president and Congress any in the history of the Republic yeah he went on to say Joe it's all gesture and it's all crazy Republicans and who are the people who lose because of other this than their constituents these Republicans that actually won in Joe Biden seats they're the ones that are gonna lose in 2024 if this continued yeah I mean we just I just the Flintstones background just it's the same every single time but I this feels like one of those times that they really could do it that they could shut down the entire United States government over this right I mean we're days away again right I mean and you'd think at least Lauren Boebert would warn them she pays attention to polls I saw finally video the of Lauren Boebert and her date and all I can conclude is that some guys will do anything to to avoid watching act 2 of Beetlejuice the musical my god you you know we don't judge here at the stephanie miller show as you know I have behaved way more horribly in theaters and sexy leaders all across the country that's why we don't judge others aren't like God she should come to sexy liberal with kind that of behavior is encouraged handsies and motorboating is encouraged available for a reasonable fee at the merch table there you go um back so going to your tweet about patriotism I guess none of these stories like they don't matter anymore I mean it's just we've heard a thousand of him you know Trump scoffing at veterans but this very this one Trump snarled about seeing a severely wounded veteran sing in an event tele -held during his presidency of the military base he was attending the welcome for General Mark Milley and the Milley had chosen US Army Captain Louis Avila God to sing Bless America Avila who had completed five combat tours had lost a leg in an IED attack in Afghanistan and had suffered two heart attacks two strokes and brain damage as a result of his injuries the ground was soft from the rain earlier in the day in Avila's wheelchair at one point nearly toppled over and Milley's wife and Mike Pence ran over to help after Avila's performance Trump walked over to congratulate him but then said to Milley within earshot of several witnesses why do you bring people like that here no one wants to see that the wounded and never let Avila appear in public again Trump told Milley I mean but it just and this is what the eleventy billion story of him disrespecting the military. I would have thought that a guy who mocked disabilities and vets would mock a disabled vet I never saw that one coming everyone should read that Atlantic piece and if you're appalled by that thank Rupert Murdoch because he made it possible yeah all of possible I mean my god I'm glad he's off to retirement and enjoy his cases of true blood on the veranda but I mean everything bad in this century the two millionaires at birth who've been elected to the presidency who one of whom launched this illegal war for a lie the other one launched a terrorist attack on our capital for a lie brexit the fact that your your uncle and aunt are now right -wing zombies who hate you I mean we got to remember like Rupert Murdoch gets more blamed for this than any Republican politician in our lifetime for how awful the Republican Party has become yeah yep um okay let's talk to let's turn to Rudy Giuliani news I apologize please pardon me yes your impression of Rudy Giuliani I still haunts my dreams is from a sexy little okay I'll put all the glue from the bald wig out of my hair he says he never groped Cassidy Hutchinson as she alleges in her upcoming memoir he said she claims groped I her in a tent on January 6th where all the people went in that were very very cold as a result of the president's speech I'm gonna grope somebody with a hundred people first of all I'm not gonna grope somebody at all and number

"The threat of severe thunderstorms, lingers in parts of the Midwest and south where residents had been warned to take shelter overnight, a line of unsettled spring weather with high winds and large hail followed by a cold front swept from northeastern Texas to Illinois, there were reports of damage and pleasantville Iowa, Adrian stahmer Fuentes, a meteorology student at Iowa state university captured the rope like tornado touching down. She is a my God. Tornadoes were confirmed Tuesday in Illinois, your brain and kelowna, temperatures are expected to drop as much as 40° in a blizzard warning was in effect for most of north and South Dakota. Some areas are still recovering from last weekend's deadly storms. Initially it was really a gut punch. Rioter charged in Pelosi laptop theft sentenced to prison
"Pennsylvania woman linked to a far right extremist movement was sentenced to three years in prison for storming the capitol on the day of the 2021 riot. Riley Williams was charged, but not convicted of helping steal a laptop from then House speaker Nancy Pelosi's office suite. She bragged online of stealing Pelosi's gavel, the 23 year old was convicted of 6 charges, including a felony count of civil disorder, prosecutors say everywhere Williams went, she acted as an accelerant, exacerbating the mayhem, where others turned back, she pushed forward. Prosecutors also say Williams was obsessed with Internet personality Nick Fuentes, and his white nationalist griper movement, who amplified the claim the 2020 election was stolen from Donald Trump. "Two. So you'll believe it's gonna teach me to play together. But man, she treat us till superstar. He's still the man for big moments, even good or bad, 'cause he's kind of always involved. He's a guy that I'd want to watch all the time in el traffic going games like that. So it's unfortunate that it looks like he's going to be unavailable. What's the biggest on field story for you? Well, for this coming weekend, from that game from el trafficker. Yeah, I mean, I think it has to be how LAFC look after winning the double last year. And staring directly at CCL, they changed a lot from that team, but they kept some guys, I think we all expected them to sell and Fuentes. And palacios, they maybe upgraded in central defense with the addition of Aaron long, but all of that is kind of overshadowed by the fact that they really only have two DPs right now. They don't have a true number 9. It's probably going to be Mahalo poku, playing as a number 9 in this one. For such a big occasion and for such a big tournament coming up like two weeks from now, they feel weirdly incomplete. But I low key kind of love the idea of mahala as a number 9. I think he's really smart off the ball. He's like, he's always attacking that space in behind the defense. Now we've only really seen him do that as a winger, but I think that will translate to what he does as a center for. And then the other aspect of this is he's just devastating defensively. He's like maxi a routine level defensively. And I think he could cause problems for that galaxy central defense trying to play out. But as fun as the galaxy R right now, and they are arguably more fun than LASD on paper. How the champs look is the biggest story coming out of this game.

"Should be spending any time with Nick Fuentes. He has no place in this Republican Party. And Senate minority leader, Mitch McConnell, even more blunt. Anyone meeting with people advocating that point of view in my judgment are highly unlikely to ever be elected. President of the United States. Trump has yet to announce the anti semitic views of either of his dinner guests. Australia is pushing back on a United Nations backed mission that pushes to add the Great Barrier Reef to a list of endangered World Heritage Sites. Australia says there is no need for that. The UN says the world's biggest coral reef ecosystem has deteriorated because of climate change. In San Francisco, Ahmed Baxter, this is Bloomberg Douglas. Thank you, Ed. Let's get to our guest guar of Malik is with us. He is the chief investment strategist at state street global advisers. He's on the line from Boston, thanks for being with us. We've been dealing with the inversion of the yield curve in the states for some time, obviously a lot of the conversation has focused on recession. It seems perhaps inevitable at this juncture, I think we need to address the timing and the severity. Do you have a view on this? I think that if it is a recession, it's likely to be a mild recession. So I think we will see something happen in the first half of next year. It won't be across the globe. But I think we can expect it for sure in the Eurozone and maybe a mild recession in the U.S.. We think that the pace with the fairness tightened and how it's showing up in both the inflation numbers and the anticipated growth slowdown. But perhaps cause the fed to shift more towards cutting rates. So it won't be a situation where you start seeing a sign of recession, rates are still being held really tight. But in stagflation, consequently the session becomes more words. So I think a micro session would be what we would expect. We saw markets kind of going sideways in the U.S. today, potentially holding off for the wise words of Jay Powell. What are you anticipating to hear more of the same in terms of the reality check that we've had from other fed speakers this week? I think so. I don't think that they will, I mean, you know, when I start looking at both Bloomberg zone financial conditions index, you can see that in the last month, it's moved up dramatically. We've seen financial conditions loosen a lot in the last last month already. So I don't see them changing the language dramatically, still sticking to being worried about inflation, much like last time you will see something being said about growth concerns. Or the fact that they are seeing some of the slowdown or the fact that with the lag is going to show up. So I think that language you can expect. But I think they're going to still pull a pretty firm line on inflation, especially with losing we've seen the move up in markets. I mean, all those are signs that investors are perhaps getting ahead of the fed wants them to be. So for embracing this notion of softer growth, maybe a shallow or a mild recession. Do you want to avoid the equity market right now and look at what's happening and fixed income? Yeah, I would say so. I mean, I think that I know we've had quite a strong rally and very honestly. I think we were asking us, as we were thinking about 2023, if you were asking us an outdoor November, we'd be telling you that what played out in the last two weeks is something we expect to play out over the next 12 to 18 months. So from college January 2023 until the first quarter of 2024. And it all played out in two weeks time. So I think I did back in equities sort of treating this as more of a bear market value that would not surprise me multiples of 18 on the S&P or global markets trading at MSA one trading at 15.9 16. I think that's a bit ahead of where it should be if fed fund rates is something in that four or 5 range, right? And like it is sustained for at least the first half of the next year. So I think a tip back in markets would have to announce a surprise. However, for it to go beyond the levels we saw the lows of June of this year, I think that's a bit more challenging. Given our view

You black, black, black, black, black, black, black, black, black, black, black. Okay? What you thought this was? Gonna be tea and biscuits? Huh? Are you all sunshine in sometimes you want a little extra croutons in a salad, bro? Huh? Nah, bro you can't get no more, man. We gotta go. You don't need a house ninja out here, bro, okay? All right. Then you got Candace Owens over there. Take a blast. Here we go. Recently, about the whole police yaga ad. But yeah, so you got your mouthpiece. Listen, listen, listen. Listen, listen, Candace, listen. Kanye will walk to you and be like, you're listen fan, don't you ever talk about my wife? She just did. And he'll get loud with you. She just did. I'm just saying Candace. And he talked about his wife and son. He just did. It's different when I'm talking about my wife. It's different when you're talking about my wife. She just did it today. She just did today. What I'm saying is she might wonder. Let it go. She gave her the permission to do what she wanted. Her children are baskets. Did he give her permission? Of course. About his wife? Yes. I don't know about his wife. I mean, I don't know about his ex-wife for most of his life so hard. You know, your children are bastards. It is what it is. It doesn't happen. I found it out. Use all that later. That's a check out of the week right there. Go ahead and send you. Hi. What are they doing as Kanye West? Was asking me for advice considering some of his difficulties. In particular, having to do with his business. We also discussed two of us instead politics where I told him he should definitely not run for president. Any voters you may should vote for Trump. Anyway, we got along great. He expressed no anti semitism, and I appreciate all the nice things he said about me on Tucker Carlson. Why would I agree to meet also, I don't know, Nick Fuentes. Nor does he let that part at the end. A went on and on. I want to get a number. You know Nick Fuentes. 2016, there are 5 people at Charleston. I do. Listen, just because I was at the dinner table with him at a restaurant that we usually frequent at, and we ordered the same food. It doesn't mean I know him. Baby we're just like to say food. We have the same taste. You like racist, your cold slaughter huh? Huh? Just because I meet this woman at the same time. I'm just saying. Every day. Every at this day at this time. Potato salad, right? You know? Go ahead. So that helped a troubled seriously troubled man. Who just happened to be? So I helped a seriously troubled man. Top right there. Says absolutely to look at you like Kanye West? Your trouble now? I'll get worse. Your man's right here called you trouble, bro, what do you mean that that means? So I've said to help you a troubled black man. Yay, tell you west. That's been decimated in his business and virtually everything else and who has always been good to me by allowing his request for meeting at Mar-a-Lago alone. So that I could give him very needed, much of the advice. He shows up with three people, two of which I didn't know. The other apolitical person. What haven't seen in years? Donald Trump Has Dinner With Kanye West, Nick Fuentes at Mar-a-Lago
"But that said I'm getting all these emails and texts from friends and foes Alike foes I don't know how they get my contact information And the big story for the last several days has been Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago Nothing new with that right By the way he's the ex-president But there's always a 5 alarm fire when it comes to the median other people when it comes to Donald Trump I don't quite get it But here we are And of course you know Kanye West and somebody named Nick Fuentes Well honestly I never heard of before Let alone saw what he looked like We're at Mar-a-Lago And met with president Trump for lunch I think Kanye West and president Trump go back a ways Nick Fuentes the president said he didn't know that the guy was and I remind him before And Kanye West who wanted to see president Trump brought him and apparently a few other people with him And president Trump put out a statement stating an I paraphrase that Kanye West is troubled and he wanted to talk to him That he had treated him well so he agreed to meet with him and spoke to him Now Kanye West is a reprobate He is now at least and out of the closet Jew hating anti semite And come to learn this Nick Fuentes is the same And a Holocaust denier and a white supremacist

"People. There you go. Yeah. And white people are done being bullied. As an expert on bullies. Take issue. With that, so I'm supposed to call him a white supremacist, the Holocaust denier, what's the deal, Nick Fuentes, now has broken bread with Donald Trump. Thanks to yay, that would be Kanye who discussed the dinner, whatever, on video after it was done. Yeah. So Trump is really impressed with Nick Fuentes. And Nick Fuentes, unlike so many of the lawyers and so many people that he was left with on his 2020 campaign, he's actually a loyalist. When he didn't know what the lawyers is, you'll still have your lawyer list. Okay, and there's your loyalist. Nick Fuentes. I guess he's got because everyone's got their own TV network. He's with the America first foundation and he was on online talking about this at the full at the anchor desk in the suit and everything. And he just, he clearly had a great time, here he is. The president, I don't think he does know who I am. Or rather he didn't know that I was me. Let me put it that way. I don't think he knew that I was me. At the dinner. Let's put it that way. I don't know if I'm going to say he didn't know me, but I'm not sure about that. But certainly he didn't know that I was me. But he's got a wink in the smile. Donald Trump writes on truth social because and I know this because Jeannie told me that he dined with yay. And the rapper quote unexpectedly showed up with three of his friends whom I knew nothing about. He can't believe people are blown away by this one, Jeannie. I'm guessing 'cause he's been posting ever since. He has been posting an I spent my Thanksgiving Joe Matthew for you tracking what was going on. He called yay a seriously troubled man whose business was decimated and said he showed up with three people he didn't know, but of course we know that that's not the case. We know one of them ran his campaign in Florida and she certainly knew Donald Trump he certainly knew her and you're hard to press to imagine Donald Trump didn't know Fuentes because everybody else in the Republican leadership does, including, of course, Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul gosar amongst others who spoke at his group. And so even if you believed he didn't know him, for him not to come out and as his former U.S. ambassador said to condemn them and to throw these bums out is deplorable and vile and human scum in all the words that have been used describe them and if people look up what Nick fonte has had to say, in addition to Ye, the anti semitism is disgusting and should be condemned and we've seen Republicans asa Hutchinson the most recent do that, but it has been slow and it's been a slow drip so far. We heard Greg valier weigh in on this earlier in the hour here, Rick. I know you're not surprised probably by a story like this, but does Kevin McCarthy need to condemn this before he can hold the gavel? Well, I think Kevin McCarthy can't condemn it if he wants to hold the gavel. That's really the pinch he's in, because he needs these support of people like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul gosar, who attended white nationalist conferences with Nick Fuentes. I mean, they're on his side. And so he's basically in the position where he doesn't have a vote to spare. And he's just going to stay silent because that's the bargain with the devil and the devil in this case is Donald Trump. And just to reiterate it, it's not about Nick Fuentes. I mean, Donald Trump is talking about meeting with his friend kind west. Yay, who, by the way, has just shown us the stripes that he has, and that's as an anti semite. And the rest of the entertainment world and the business world of ostracizing, but not Donald Trump. Well, look, that's important here. Nick Fuentes is so outrageous. And so offensive Genie, the people forget, in some cases, at least that Kanye was just fired by Adidas in a couple of other companies, right? That wasn't the only one for being a full throated anti semite. That's right. And let's not forget Donald Trump himself has recently spewed anti semitic remarks. So, you know, this is what Donald Trump has trafficked in, and it has been Donald Trump's approach all along. If people like me, if they'll vote for me if they support me, then I'm all in for them. I don't care who or what they are. And that's the case here. You know, the best part of this dinner apparently, in my mind, at least was when Kanye West decided to ask Donald Trump if he wanted to serve as his vice president. And that apparently through Donald Trump into a rage, and then he attacked his ex-wife. So, you know, that was the most absurd, but the best part of the whole dinner by reports. I can't tell if they're even friends or not. I guess this is just, you're in this sort of fringe circle and you want publicity to show up at Mar-a-Lago, Rick. But that means anybody can get into Mar-a-Lago. Now hang out with the former president, current candidate. I think after Nick Fuentes at dinner with him, it shows anybody can go to Mar-a-Lago and have dinner with Donald Trump. It's incredible. We'll see if I guess the Oval Office works like that. Of course, he's been there. There's a big conversation as well about what's happening at the RNC right now. This is all part of the stuff that follows a difficult midterm election cycle. Ronna mcdaniel, the chair, is now being officially challenged by none other than my pillow guy. Here he is. I am 100% running for the RNC chairman against ronna mcdaniel. A 100%, I'm all in Steve and one of the things that one of the big donors said to me, he said, Mike, he said, everybody wants you to be head of the RNC. Some of them just don't know it yet. That happens to the best of us. He's talking to Steve Bannon. I believe they're, look, I'm assuming that you guys don't think Mike lindell, the my pillow guy is going to be the next chair of the RNC. But it's not just him. Listen to Kristi Noem from over the weekend talking about this issue on Fox. We need to win. I mean, that's just the fact. Our kids future depends on it. So we really all have a responsibility to message what Republican policies bring to this country. And I don't know if a party that can continue to lose like we have and keep their jobs. The governor of South Dakota sometimes talked about a potential running mate, Donald Trump certainly a loyal trumper, Rick, what's happening at your old RNC

"Fuentes is from. I'm Brian shook. I'm a Baxter. And I'm to these Pellegrini. And you're listening to Bloomberg wealth. The David Rubenstein part of our best of Bloomberg series. And we've been getting some insight from Sam zell billionaire real estate investor and founder and chairman of equity group investments. And here's David Rubenstein with Zelle. Let's listen in. In your observation, what is the most common mistake that the average investor makes selling at the wrong time or buying it the wrong time? Almost can't answer that question without using the word optimism. You know, one of Sam's favorite Sammy's is we suffer from knowing the numbers. I think we managed to tip throw through the tulips for the last 50 years by never allowing ourselves to get swept up in the enthusiasm of whatever the current event might be. And I think by maintaining that level of discipline, yeah, we made mistakes and that's to be expected. But we live all been controllable. No one mistake was ever catastrophic. So when I make a mistake in the investment world, I think about it for the next ten or 15 or 20 years, I never forget it. Do you able to walk away from those things and just go on to the next thing? Historically, that's been the case. I mean, I can't help but think about the baseball player that gets paid $30 million a year for getting a hit one out of three times. My job as an investor is to be right a lot more than that. But more important not to be wrong. So people are ever come up to you and say, Sam, you're a famous investor. Can you give me any advice? What would you tell that person to do? I do the best I could to extract myself from the conversation. I could talk generically. I'm going to talk about real stand as my trust I think a very viable investment opportunity for the average person and a lot of other things, but I don't ever want to be anybody's guru. So you and I are a couple years older than me, but I've reached the age where people do look at me and say, are you still working this hard? Are you still investing? And I say, yes, this is what I know how to do. Do you get this a lot too? People say, why don't you slow down? Well, everybody says to me, you know, when are you going to retire? I'm sure they ask you that way, and the same thing. And I look at them and I say, retire from what? I get up every morning and I read 5 newspapers and I'm intrigued by what I'm doing and I'm intrigued by the things that are changing around me and how I need to adjust to what's going on on an ongoing basis. I consider that to be a blessing. And that was Sam zell, found her in chairman of equity group investments on Bloomberg wealth with David Rubenstein. All right, Denise, let's turn our attention now to another well-known name of the world of investing. That's right, Steve palka, co chairman of Bain capital, and also I should mention co owner of the Boston Celtics. And Palau uca tells Bloomberg's at ludlow, the global investing environment is volatile right now. We are in a very volatile period right now. Where there have been breakdowns, I think, a democracies in the policies, we came out of a period of 25 or three years of growth of globalization, global trade benefiting people all over the world lifting that of poverty. But there were winners and losers in that in the industrialized countries. And now we've seen kind of tribal movements of people who are left out of that. And the political system has been upheaval in Britain and the U.S. and many countries. Where people are looking for answers. But it has caused a lot of dislocation. And almost a breakdown of what we were before. So I think the social issues are very, very important. There's a

Seven million people other denver. But you know if we had to sacrifice three million people to save the seventy million people utilitarianism dictate. That's good but like if you put it to a vote you probably have a lot of people who are extremely uncomfortable with sacrificing to remain people to do that right and so it's really would they would not want to live in a world where those people are sacrifice based on their own well-being if those people are but you tila terrorism would dictate it would dictate that..

"And i think i think so. This is james this is your this is your definition of what outright is gosh. Yeah for the sake of this conversation. The yes okay. Oh you know Vincent james and nick are there. And then jake wall and all their friends What's what's the big. Obviously beat alaska. But i guess kill stream will be on there and there's probably ten other people you could say michelle malkin's probably there. I like this. So i mean we'll see we'll see the the end of the game. Okay so your definition is it's it's a shifting line. Currently it is to the right of charlie kirk. I still disagree. You're saying this is the end of someone like michelle malkin. I think this is good for michelle malkin for at least her or like her income like like what she stands to make incomewise great so we got a debate now so i don't think so. I think they're going to be a have a big crackdown. I think as soon as joe biden gets in there's going to be a hate speech task for pushing place. They're going to be working with visa. They're going to be working to pay all they're going to be working with twitter. They're going to be working with facebook. You know we've seen basically video after video where big tech is sitting down with congress and key and you know left-wing congress's like what are you doing to combat hate speech. What are you doing to down on domestic terrorism. What are you doing to stop white. Nationalism from rising what are you doing. You're not doing it you're doing off. You're not doing enough and you know we did have some pushback in the past from the white right-wing legislators well. What are you doing to protect free speech. Who made you the boss. What why are you against conservatives. And that's gone. that is fucking gone. Like trump has gone the conservatives have lost the house. They've lost the senate. They've lost the presidency. The pushback is gone and so now the focus of the american government working with big tax will be to crack down on hate speech as they put it. We we brief interlude. So do you think someone like nick winters and other people like him. I in fact. Interestingly enough. I think everybody that you've labeled like people who are the right of charlie kirk wanted be banned. No no they wanted the senate to be lost. Only that's interesting. Could you explain that to me. Because i don't know they explicitly said so. Nick what is explicitly said. Do not vote for these senators. Who are up for reelection or the senators who did see that in the in the run-up georgia right. They're like don't show up. Y'all vote do not support these people. Because is this is something that you were saying is part of why it is the end of these people so you think that they will. Well what is your no. I totally think the wrong. What is a reasoning behind that. Move while they say that These these politicians did not support them. They're they're like they're wet paper. They do absolutely nothing. So why would you vote for them. Create an illusion of support for your cause and create an illusion of Things that people on their side want happening. I mean okay. So without without the wet paper with the veneer the thin thin thinly-veiled idea of protecting free speech. It just becomes a mealy office. We don't have it at all. I think i think in the next four eight years. I mean do. I don't know biden. We'll do eight years but Certainly four we've got ahead of us have liberal government You know i think the..

"Like just look at look at lindsey. Graham's sticky men about these trump supporters like they're basically saying trump supporters are not within our party now welcoming trump to some extent through them under the bus with one of his last tweets before he got banned to video tweets. I think it was something like. I don't condone this violence in any way. This is terrible and his press secretary was on saying i speak for the whole white house when we say this off all these domestic terrorists and they will be investigated in bubba global What what are the fans saying. Like what are what are the trump fans saying about these kind of things that happen. Are they still inside or the upset. I think i saw one. Nick post where he's like. I don't know this is true. Maybe it's a deepfake. Maybe it's real. I don't know yeah. Well he was definitely upset about the The final the final statements by trump before getting banned off twitter the disavowing. Because the fact that you won't see someone like joe biden and do that. You won't see someone like joe biden. Come out and say whatever black lives. Protest is a sham or like He's ashamed of what's going on there. I mean he doubled down on it. He said hey look we know. If the people storming that we're black lives matter of supporters that would have gone differently and like implying the shot and murdered by the police. Wait did joe biden. Say that yeah absolutely. Yeah yeah kamala. Harris said something similar lau knows. What's so crazy because if this if this actually bad girl got shot in the neck during black lives matter. Protest this unarmed. Fourteen year old or rather. Fourteen year veteran of the army If she got shot in the neck and she was black at a black lives matter protest by a white cop. We wouldn't hear the end of it for years. I know should should be the go-to martyr of the of the time until better one came along. You know who knows how long that could be we need. I think i think the mainstream left-wing media is saying like all these people are stupid and they're getting what they deserved and then see. The things i'm seeing are well. You know we we know if they were black lives matter. The police treated them away. Worse in the police has been treating them with kid gloves. And i totally disagree man like. I don't think the police murdered anybody at most of the black matter riots. I'm very few people were arrested. Most of them were like all right with just minor charges or no charges at all every single politician coming out and saying they have a right to protest. They should be mad. They should be broke out at kamala. Harassing that elizabeth. Warren yeah you had. Aol saying like it makes you uncomfortable. Good it makes you uncomfortable. These these protests should be making people feel uncomfortable you add Cuomo saying who says that the protests are supposed to be peaceful. Banjo does on that Don lemon is on that list. I mean it's just we see very very obvious. Mainstream thought that is. It's like watching sports. Like this is not their team. That came out today and everyone's happy that they lost. Everyone seems to be pretty overwhelmingly happy. About how the rights were squash about how everyone's being arrested. I mean i don't wanna talk about this woman dying but people are laughing..

"This is not so when alex jones got banned from the internet essentially There was all this talk about the streisand effect. And you know you're trying to hide it. It'll just put more eyes on it. People wanna see what they're not allowed to see and to some extent that did pan out for alex jones for maybe a couple of months there was more is on him for a couple of months has since dissipated and he is doing much worse now than you would have otherwise been doing. He was doing before the band's but there was a spike in his views. Now alex jones had around one hundred or rather one million followers on twitter. Roughly trump at the time is banning had roughly seventy seven million So this is this is seventy seven times the amount of attention the amount of followers the amount of people who were either fans of trump. Or who watched this happen. This is different than the out at. This is different by orders of magnitude than the alex jones situation. This allows trump to start his own thing but perhaps a subscription service online. Who knows exactly how he could do it. And he's got immediately tons of devote vowed followers that that they are somehow the counterculture. I like even before the election. I said you know. I kind of i kind of want trump to win but i'm not too passionate about it. I don't think trump is that counter cultural. I don't think. I think he's kind of inside the bubble to be honest. Like we were saying. This guy hangs with jeffrey epstein. This guy is very much. a at. The clinton weddings fans was donated to all the big top democrats on and aides equals cohorts when alex jones gov and people thought oh like if i subscribed subscribed to ban dot video. I am like getting the truth. That they don't want me to see you know like apple and and twitter and and all these companies banned him and they don't want me to see him so this is this is the truth that they don't want to see in the same sense people are going to be thinking that way about trump now and they're like he opens up his. You know his own fox news trump news or whatever the trump news network and there's going to be without a doubt tens of millions of people subscribing tuning in thinking that this is the way due to what has happened in this purge. The audience would be much less passionate if these didn't happen. Yeah so you think it may. It may legitimize his saying well. We need a new media. A we need a new media because look we'll definitely tell we've been banned. Luckily been treated definitely be be. He might have the critical mass to launch it. Because you know. He isn't alex jones. He's not he's not censored. Donald trump lends legitimacy to the claim of..

Boston - Springfield Detective Fired After ‘Hurtful’ Anti-Police Social Media Post
"Protests in recent weeks have revealed tensions between police and the black lives matter movement. An incident in Springfield reported this morning underscores that tension on May thirtieth a detective in the Springfield Police Department posted a picture on Instagram of her knees. Holding a sign at a black lives matter rally in Atlanta. It drew criticism from officers in her department. Mass live reports. The detective was fired on June nineteenth by Springfield Police Commissioner Cheryl Clap route. The former detective joins us now from Springfield flonaise. Welcome to Radio Boston. Thank you. Can you bribery? So flourish, so your story was first reported by mass. Live in Springfield Republican reporter Stephanie Berry, I wonder. Can you walk us through what happened beginning with? What was the picture? And why did you post it? Yes on the. Post and was a photo of my niece and her friend protesting the killing of toward floyd on the protests took place in Atlanta Georgia. On my niece and her friend, holding signs one of the signs read. Who Do you call when the murderer? Where's badge and the sign that my niece was holding? said shoot the F. Back. Okay. That content could be considered threatening. You acknowledge that the posting could be considered hurtful or threatening to fellow officers. Did you think about that when you posted it? I mean it could be construed as threatening to you as a police detective is well. I didn't take the polls. Have be an anti COP You know when I. When I shared the Post I, Think about how others would perceive it, at no point that I share that post with malicious intent just so you know supporting my niece and her right to a practice her first amendment. So then what happened floor? So you posted it? What did you hear from Your Department from other officers? What happened next? So after share in the post a few hours later, I received messages on on social media. Phone calls text messages. From some of my officers who express their concerns They said that they don't look good that it looked like an anti Kat post once I realized that I had offended some of my fellow officers I immediately deleted the post and I apologize to those who had reached out to me, and I also think them for you know looking out for me. I. Know that right now. At that time, emotions were very high, or all the officers with everything that was going on, not protest that was happening throughout the country. the following day I received a phone call from direct captain before he could explain himself I explained that I why he's calling me but at no point did I share that pulse with malicious intent or Ernie intent to harm or fund any of my fellow officers but the captain stated that the Commissioner was highly upset. She was embarrassed and then I did express the him that I understand How she you know. She could be embarrassed in offended especially after she honored hardship for me, the Commissioner has done a lot for me. All my career my one year career in the in the department. Excuse me. On the day after the phone call with the captain, I met with the Commissioner Commissioner Clap. there was a few deputies in the office as well a few captains, and I went in with my us union present Joe Gentile. in the meeting the Commissioner. basically told me that you know I embarrassed her and that she was highly upset with me. Especially after honoring to hardship, I apologize to her and I and I told her that I understand where my fellow officers are coming from, but at no time did I post that with militias and another time? did I think that might be as anti cop. I told her that I. You know I. Should apologize to all the officers. I'm sorry till the up to supervisors who advocates for me? I think that they deserve an apology from embarrassing and she went on to tell me that people had called up to the. Commissioner's Office and And when I see people I, mean my officers and they were upset and they wanted me terminated She did say that she thinks very highly of me in the. She didn't want to terminate me and then you'd have to figure out a way to fix this. after I left that meeting I consulted with my union president Joe Gentile. after control than what time we both agree that it'd be a good idea to go on a local high bdo. IBP Oh page. And, put up. The public apology to my fellow officers I put up the apology later that day and once I put up the apology I had a few officers that you know basically told me it's okay. No where he's. We all make mistakes. you know we. We have to stick together. Then received a lot of insults and threats on there as well. I'm sorry to interrupt you I know there's a little more to this story, and I do want to give you a chance to tell it, but I need to clarify a couple of things that you've already said. You said that the commissioner said to fix it in the mass live reporting today. She denied that she had said fix. It had a quote that said quote. Once you post something. It's out there and you can't retract it. That post was hurtful to many of her co-workers. What do you make of the dispute between your sense that she told you to fix it and her saying, but that is not what she said. I'm when I was in that meeting. I recall those words like he needs to figure out fix this. and I remember being. Sorry go ahead. No no, that's okay. Finish your thought, please. I'm I'm commenting on that? Okay, also, you said that the commissioner honored hardship for you. Some of our listeners may not know what that means. Can I please ask you to explain that? I'm so dern. The pandemic the kits for being home schooled and I. also have my father who has cancer that I for so i. Put it in a re. I spoke with my captain I was on the midnight shift. I was working twelve eighty a And I wrote up a hardship after consulting with the CAP, and he told me to put in a hardship I wrote to the Commissioner asking to go back to four to twelve as a patrol officer. And in order for me to homeschool my three children and look after my father. a few days later. She authored my hardship while I'm and. Threw me in the TV as a FDU detective. So made you a detective? Yes, Ma'am! Okay thank you now after you posted the apology, you got mixed results or responses from that my apology, my understanding was ultimately you withdrew the apology. You then later were part of a larger picture that was taken of the force, and then on that same day. Receive News that you could either resign or be fired. Do I have those events correct? Yeah! And so the firing was about a week and a half ago. Yeah, it was on Friday to nine hundred. And did it come as a surprise to you on that day? Yes, it did after spoke with Some of the supervisors in the department. They had basically told me you know lay low. Just try to blend in you know, take this as a small bumping your career and a lesson learned and You know you'll get through this. Why do you think you were fired? At this point. You know I I am I don't know. Like the Commissioner as the Commissioner stated She was pressured by the mayor I think it was It was driven my politics but that's as far as I can comment on that. Were there discussions within the police force during the the weeks of the protests prior to you posting your Social Media Post. About the protests, the movements the discussions about police brutality. Were you talking with with fellow detectives or other officers about that? Did you have a sense of where they stood into? They have a sense of where you stood. I'm no. We didn't talk much about it I. Mean I had one one officer life spoke with that was very closely with in regards to the protest and I think we both stood in support of the black lives. Matter Movement. And other than that I. didn't I didn't really? Have conversations about the protests with other fellow officers. And after you posted your apology, why do you believe that some officers came back? with strong responses threatening language. I think is the term that you used it, Cetera. Why do you believe the apology was not sufficient to kind of to begin to heal the controversy around your post? I believe emotions are just very high at this time. You know like I can't tell you why they felt offended. again I had some even had some that some officers at attack me. Flirt so, we reached out to the Springfield police to either appear on the show or to provide comment commissioner share a clap route sent us a statement, said quote. This was Miss Fuentes a second infraction during her probationary period complaints about her social media posts came from co workers who were hurt by it, and questioned her stance on the quote that advocated shooting police officers. It was my decision to terminate her employment and quote. What does she mean by a second infraction?

The Promise and Forgotten Journey by Silvina Ocampo
"Of the joys on the path of a reader is seeing a name that you see for years and years. Who is this person as we know today? This person who we hear of and don't know is likely to be a woman who's been neglected. This woman Safina. Oh compo was considered to be one of the great unknowns of South American Literature. She worked with or who we spore his when he was putting together his collection of fantastic literature working on that anthology as well was her husband. Cassavetes who wrote a book that Voorhis praised very highly the invention of Morrell. I read born face and Casado race as a young man but until recently I had never read much to my discredit savina Ocampo. Now I can say in my defense. The two of her books a novel and a book of Stories have just been translated and published by city. Lights press many people know city. Lights Bookstore do you also know that froing getty has oppress attached to that bookstore? Yes there is a press and they have published Safina Compost Forgotten Journey which is a book of short stories. But if I am not giving away too much the forgotten journey is the journey out of the womb into the world. This is a journey. None of US succeed in remembering completely. He did not remember it or face. He saw that. Silvino aqap ball had the gift he said of clairvoyance and so now. We have to thrilling books. Forgotten Journey a book of her short stories and I mean the longest is six pages and then a novel called the promise and we say an awful because it is probably the longest thing she wrote. But it's fairly a hundred pages. I have three translators here who have been working on Silvino compo and they are just some of the translators who are working on Silvino Compo. Because she's about to be the discovery that we have all been waiting for. It's very exciting. And one of these translators is the marvelous Suzanne Joe Levin who goes by the name June. Wien many of you will know as soon as I tell you that. She has translated. Cabrera Infanta. Julio Cortazar Carlos Fuentes Man will tweak Severo Saad we hand Buick Assad Race. And she's translated a great deal of poetry more than forty book on translations she is the dean of Spanish South American literature and translation with her are to people who've been her students and who worked with her on each of these two books. Jill how did you come to know? Savina OCAMPO's work well I came to know Selena. Compost work Because I had the good taste and look to make amazing Literary critic when I was very young New York name a mirror years ago and he with him I was down in Argentina and Together we went to the House of Combo They were married. They were married and so I met them for the first time but of course I had already heard of them because I studied Latin American literature in college and And I was at graduate school that time so but getting to meet. These people was like so exciting. You know it's sort of like meeting Gods When you're a student you're studying. These people like absolutely amazing. Did you also meet for his? At that time. I actually met him the year before because he was brought to yell to give a lecture and evolve bone. Was there also Savino Campbell about whom we're speaking being cassavetes and all who were triumvirate of sorts? Once they married for fifty years he continued to be their dinner guest and You know he as I said. He said of her that she was clairvoyant. She didn't take many photographs. She did not like to be photographed when you see a picture of Safina or Campo. It's not unusual for hands to be crossed in front of her face and if fast if she were going to this or that party she would sing with this ugly face. Jessica Powell use started to read Cedar Fina under the direction of Jill Levine. Yes I was first introduced to Selena's work many years ago in a translation seminar that I took with Jill when I was a graduate student at UC Santa Barbara and after that class ended Jilin. I decided to collaborate on a novella which was actually the only work that Silvino Compo and her husband Blake Assad wrote together and so it was lower haight which is fantastic and we co translated it. And after that Jill and I started talking about you know Oh wouldn't it be wonderful to translate more of Selena's works and so then in Katie a? New Young came on the scene and she's completing her doctorate and her dissertation is in part on Compo Katie's Latif John worked on the translation of forgotton journey. A book of short pieces. There has been also. I don't want to confuse anyone a book of poetry from the New York review books as well as another book covering the entire spectrum of So Vena or Campos pros. I've found my own beginning point. Were these two thrilling little books. Let's here who would like to read a section of Savino Compo? Who'd like to go start with the first black? I can read a section of the Olive Green Dress. The first paragraph from journey forgotten journey. The very first book of Savino Gone Full. Let's hear the first paragraph of the Olive Green dress the olive green dress. The display windows stepped forward to greet her. The only reason she had left the House that morning was to go shopping. Miss Hilton blushed easily her skin translucent as a waxed paper like those packages who's wrappings reveal. All that's inside but beneath such transparencies where the thinnest layers of mystery behind the branching veins growing a little tree over the surface. She was ageless unjust when one noticed the deepest wrinkles on her face or her long white braids. It was possible to catch an unexpected glimpse of her youth in some childlike gesture. Other times she seemed to have the smooth skin of a young girl and light blonde hair precisely at the moment when she looked as if old age had caught up with her. The first paragraph of a very short story called the Olive Green Dress as I read. The stories seem to escape from me as I moved forward in them. There's a strange quality of presence and absence coal joint as she writes. It's quite extraordinary and this first paragraph. Because it's so zigzag you know I I saw it begins with a very odd sentence received like awkward. How could display windows stepped forward to greet you of course? That's that's very surrealist element of you. Know which was the time she was writing in but you know she she young as she old. It's like going from a woman's You know perception of herself but you were talking about how she felt about. She looked I mean. I thought this is kind of interesting example now. Above of that of of those issues and so as very twisty this is Jill Levine. Who is perhaps the Guardian Angel of these three translators bringing savina Ocampo's writing into our present
