"Have magical experiencing your home and you don't live in my neighborhood or town. I want you to have that if you love my food i'll think of how we can bring that back or i'll show you my recipe. Send you my ingredients and so all of a sudden in a weird kind of way. The pandemic brought people closer to shops and restaurants closer than ever where they were sharing the secrets. And i'm not sure if you saw that. We launched new initiative. Gabelli live about a year and a half ago classes for one hundred bucks well. So it's a live interactive class. Where you get to go belly pack for free. You're in this life class with the chef and they're showing you how misunderstood it. Yes you actually get the food. So it's the first truly interactive cooking. Show where you're getting the food that the chef prepares and they're showing you how to make their signature dishes at home. So it's been a really incredible experience. I look at that. All this dumpling classes In a bow kit. Oh wow that's dope. That's actually a ridiculous value. Think about that if you could get somebody from florence You know to teach me how to make like steak florentine. You could actually ship me. The stake in the us but put me on with a chef and florence. Have you had any international You know aspirations or any international tax. I know that sounds crazy but that does seem like the next shoe to drop like there are things. I love in tokyo. There are things. I love in paris and spain in italy that i would just die to be able to replicate here. Yeah well i told you before what our mission is right. So it's debris jason comfort and happiness and make his dreams come true so our mission would not be completed until we achieve that Have you heard of francis melman the argentinian chef famous for the giant like assad does in the hanging meats and vegetable. He's the guy in miami at that new hotel the the fine fine dinner at the fana- with the owner and chef did that for us on a giant thing. We had like fifteen people a couple of my friends and it was outrageous outrageous. I mean it's. It's like the best meat best grilled meat that you could ever have So we actually ship francis melman and we've partnered up with him and it's it's just unbelievable like drill kit that he asked what some of my favorites are. It's something that i've ordered like two or three times this summer. Is this like full. Assad kit where you get the most amazing meats and side dishes and you can basically have this event for friends or family that come over using your own grill. Based on his recipes is the meat already cooked or is it prepared and season. Where what state is the media. When i get it you reheating or are you cooking so it raw so this is raw and it's you know there's a skirt steak there's a there's a rib steak this four different stakes. His signature potato sides is all of that should be chewed he saw is in hot sauces. And it's just like it's got to give credit. When i was in miami on that same trip i was with a couple of friends of mine. And we're like. Let's go now. To little havana was have a little venture and i was going to take them to one place that i live for croquettes and cuban sandwiches but then you know i i my twitter and i was like hey. What's what's good in the cuban sandwich base. Somebody says sandwich is the one. I gotta go to. Hugh got sandwich. Have you ever been there sandwiched in miami. I haven't been there. I've ordered it multiple times. it's actually like a gold belly team favorite. Everybody is obsessed with their product. They make a beef one now. She cuban kit and the croat sandwich but they also make beef when they have input here yet. So see you gotta get on by the way. You should have gone to go belly to figure out what the police i engineer at. That's true yeah. That's a nice. I use twitter people a lot of Twitter to figure all that out Did you ever si- for cuban sandwich or you know. Let's say there. I when i stay at the addition hotel there. I liked the addition. And then here's the thing the addition. This is one of the craziest moments. I'm at the addition. And i go downstairs. They got the food court. They're you know they got like a nice food court with a lot of different stations order. Cappuccino yeah she gives me the bill. I kid you not. It's thirteen dollars. And i look at it. I said oh so wrong bell. I said that's the wrong bell and handed back to her. I said i just had one copy. She goes yeah. I know and look at it. And it's like nine fifty for cop pacino and plus like to you know tax or whatever and i look at it and say can i talked to the manager for shaiken and i never do this and i may hundred percent tipper like in these instances like in the manager. I said listen. I want to tell you something. I love staying here. This is the most abusive thing i've ever seen in my life. Just because you can charge nine. Fifty for a copy chino. She goes mr calcutta's twice a day. That people are shocked. Because i just wanted to tell you. Because i love staying here but i'm gonna cop if you don't need to competent. She's like i'm hoping for you. I really appreciate the feedback. I gotta tell you like. I love staying here but this is the kind of thing when you do something abusive like this that it kills the experience. Because you feel like you're getting price-gouging like i expect if i'm out like yankee stadium or something or at the movie theater but not at the hotel one hundred percent. I'm in the industry. Whatever i grew up in the restaurant business. I go up. I swear to god. She buys me a bottle of rose. A sixty dollar puts it my room with the fruit plates. And now she's in for one hundred. I gave them twenty dollars when they cancelled my bell and give her twin tip. But i go next door and there is a cuban restaurant right next door to the addition and they mechanical bonner call. Let's say i kid you not it's a dollar or dollar fifty and i hit three of those things. Line the moon joe. Those things are the greatest they put. Put up a toothpick in it or like a woodstock-era. There's so much sugar in that catholic lecce catholic. It stands up. That's how.

"We have people come in and like rain my book We also had all these cities and those the channels on our slack. Which is this week in startups lack. The the cities were actually kind of doing interesting conversation. So i created that slack. Because i want an interesting conversations not marketing it spam so now it is narrowed the focus in its We're going to rebuild it and it's doing pretty good. I asked rachel to manage along with jackie. The original producer of the show these Meet ups rachel gave you some basic ideas here. which cities are we going to do. I the first three cities are going to be chicago. London and new york gun chicago shy town london and new york my hometown perfect. Those are three great cities And we wanna get these right now. I ice came up with an idea. Which was i want people to prove it because my number one concern is that these are done in a way that's got some level of quality and that's four the fans that represents the brand well so i came up with the rule which was hey. I only want the coordinators In these cities to be startup founders. So you can apply to be a coordinator. Have a minimum of three. And i think a maximum seven or ten could be on the organizing bodies that right yup on the between three and seven founders perfect and the reason we did that for people who are wondering is once you have a lawyer or an accountant or a head hunter real estate broker the whole gestalt. If you will the entire you know direction of these things will start to go in a in a marketing kind of direction for them to get customers what i wanted to be as founders who founders of startups. Listen to this we can start talking about startups adult startups. so it's about startups Now you did a call with the london The members of the community in london. Who were interested in doing this. How did that call go. It went super mazing. Actually of london's not the only city that is doing really well new york and chicago also both doing amazing London is planning. I believe doing their vent later in october. And they're already really excited to hear more about the third events so they can start having content of the when it went really really well and i was happy that jackie was able to hop on that call with me. Great now explain the gamification. I added the three missions in order to have people who are on these organizing bodies proved to us. They're serious and they're going to represent as well of course so for the first meeting. I was telling the founders. It's basically just to get comfortable. It's around ten founders. To meet up everybody pays their own way. Having meal have drank. Grab a coffee. It's really just to have everybody get to know each other and it's obviously because it's only around ten people. It'll probably mostly only consist of those founders. Planning these events meet up number. Two is a little bit bigger around twenty five to fifty people. You said some examples you gave us were dim. Dim-sum pizza go to a bar network And obviously that is a lot more than the the founders that are helping plan and the big thing for that is to network and then for meet up number three. That's the really fun one. And that's when they get to host content and that's probably when they'll have to start talking to you a little bit more because then we're talking about fifty to one hundred founders of hosting program. You can even jump in and call in Rally won't go there but you'll be calling in which is going to be kind of cool for them And a bunch of the city have recommended about what different kind of content. they'd like. they're already so. I'm excited for that. One fantastic guests. So what we're gonna do is we're going to have them do two things before we allow them to do actual content at this week in startups. Meet up because i have concerns like people are going to be serious about this and do it in a way that is you know just in line with our brands. So step one have breakfast with ten friends Three to seven people in the steering committee and everybody invited an extra person. Just go find a place for breakfast. You go dutch. Everybody splits the bill. You don't have to market it. You just take a picture. An instagram you. Tag us in. it will re tweet you. And we'll put some of those important that they just do a little social media on it. Rachel they would be cool than we can amplify it. And linked to their page this week in startups dot com slash events slash london slash. Whatever so we'll make a url reach city. That'll go directly to our notion page on that city and people can take it from there And in the second event you just find a bar that fits twenty five people. You may wanna give him a heads up. you're coming. Maybe they wanna put out some appetizers whatever but everybody just peyser away or it could be a large cafe if you think they can handle it. You can maybe have name tags and that one. You're going to have sign up form the way we'll do it. Rachel is we will control the sign up for with them so we have a you know a type former survey monkey account or maybe google sheet will share the sheet with them. We'll have a copy of the sheets so we'll collect those email addresses for our less and we'll let them you know emailed about lest we have to think about that because we don't want people to then use these lists of spam people but the idea here is to build up some trust so we probably want to maintain that less than and make sure people don't get spammed or use it for the first purposes and then on the third when he gets big then we'll have them pitch on the content they want to do and if it goes. Well we'll say okay. And in the fourth mission we will have Have a sponsor submission for is find a sponsor and when they have a sponsor will let them you know. Basically it'll become like a little mini franchise. We'll have to come up with some rules of the road. But i think either will let them you know collect the money themselves and it will or will collect the money and give them the nat- or something that we don't see this as a money making thing but we do not want this to turn into something where You know people who are running at lose money doing it We also don't want it to become something where you know. They're using audience to make too much money. In other words we want kind of be cash neutral. I mean if there was an extra five hundred bucks and you know went towards securing the next space. I wouldn't feel so bad about it but So it's kind of like ted ex some rules of the road all right. Did you talk to chicago. And new york yet or call setup zoom calls for them. I already talked to them. And the new york one is actually already set up for their first meeting it. They decide to rush things a little bit due to cove it. They weren't sure how things were going to be and they actually do have a little form setup for everyone to rsvp unfortunately though are only ten spots available because they had to make a reservation just because safe. That's what they decided to do. And that's perfectly fine. I think already. Seven people are are rsvp to that but if anybody on here wants to rush over checkout and apply for that Will be taking the first people that fill out that form and chicago. I did talk to them. And i connected all the founders that are willing to meet up with the event and so far i haven't heard back from them but i only talked to them on monday so i'm short by the end of the week. Something we'll be sorted out for them. And i think if it works and these three go well. We don't have any shenanigans or a donnybrook doesn't break out at the event we can maybe add one a month right and i think you know it's nice to got to in america. One in europe. Love to have one in australia which i love to go to love to have one in tokyo or or south korea again maybe south america so great job rachel if you want to be a coordinator on this we are only coordinating at through the slack so go to this week in startups dot com slash slack slack and notion slack in notion. It makes things really easy. Those are the two places. Don't start flooding us with emails. Don't start hitting us up on twitter. I mean i guess you could but let's try to keep it tight so.

I'm going to do a random auction. It's not going to be random where i'm going to do it on this day. And i'm going to announce ten minutes after so i'll announce it ten minutes late. Nobody will notice. But you'll be sitting at your finger on the trigger when they launch. I want you all to buy these. But more importantly. I want all to buy them and then by each other's and flipped them. Now you the soccer sees trending everybody's sharing it. You see all the wallets doing this and you think wow it's going up it's going up. There's volume this trading. I need to jump in here and grab one of these. So i can flip it and make money and you buy it and you are. What's called in the business. The bag holder. So they're having folks. It's really that easy now. If i describe that and it's such an easy grip fraud scheme scam for me to come up with the top of my head. You could probably come up with ten go ahead and the comments if you're watching the lashing. Tell me ten different ways you would perpetrate a scam. Well it's up to the platform open. See to make sure the stuff doesn't happen. It's up to top shop dapper labs and the players here but all of this is built on open decentralized technology which means it's very hard to stop these kinds of things and when they're racing like this what is the incentive of open sea ten not take their commission on every one of these and to not build up their market cap. Now here is something that You know. I hate to bring up. I don't wanna be a hater or portrayed as a hitter here. What if a company had this happening. Not just with one person but two or three please or people who are partners in the company were investors in the company stake stakeholders. So what happens if it's not just their head of product but one other person in customer support and what if it's somebody who's an investor or an angel or a partner company connecticut four or five people doing this and what happens if People inside the company know this but they don't take action and disclose it and then they raise money and people invest dollars into the company. You've now on top of doing whatever unethical behavior. We want to categorize this as right at some kind of a fraud. Wire fraud comes to mind. and this manipulation banana just committed scurries fraud right committed securities fraud and you go to jail for them And it's not a joke right. We have elizabeth homes right now on trial. She is facing serious jail time for wire fraud.

"I've been warning you guys that this would happen. Any system that can be corrupted will be corrupted and i told you that. Nafta's and crypto were full of people gaming the system and that you would be the ones who would be the bag holders. You would be the ones being manipulated while leading. Nfc from opensky sea. For those of you wondering just admitted that an employee was running feature drops with a secret ethereal account before the public had access. So what this means is an fte's if you're unaware. Nonfunctional tokens are like collecting cards. That's what the board monkey board a yacht club and top shop and all the stuff is about. I believe teaser. A really interesting crypto. Use case i am not anti crypt. Our anti nafta. I'm anti market manipulation. Are my anti-people breaking the rules. And here we now have confirmation of people breaking the rules and not just a bad actor. This isn't the mafia in you know. Russian mafia rough russian hacking groups isn't chinese. You know black ops no literally. This is somebody who worked at open sea so they have featured. Nf teas that are listed on the front page of the website As you now open. Sea devon fencer was on episode twelve fifty back in july. If you wanna learn more about open city And devon was a great gas. And i think this is a really great platform. I think what they're doing is really interesting. And they've recently been rewarded. They've raised over one hundred million and they were recently valued at one point. Five billion in their series b. And there's a lot of issues with fte's so wednesday morning. September fifteen open see published a blog post. Admitting that one of their employees was involved in front running popular. Nfc drops dropped. Means a watch too fancy hipster way of saying the release of something so when they are going to release them they call it a drop. It gets everybody excited crates foam. Oh it creates marketplace They did not fire the employee on the spot where they name the employee in question instead. They said quote. We are taking this very seriously and are conducting an immediate and thorough review of this incident so that we have a full understanding the facts and additional steps we need to take. They also implemented two policies regarding employee conduct open team members may not buy or sell from collections or creators while we are featuring or promoting them i on our homepage open. Team members are prohibited from using confidential information to purchase or sell any. Nfc's whether available on the open sea platform or not This is insane that they did not have a policy. This is insane that they did not fire the person and it's insane that they haven't taken legal action against the person. This is an existentialist moment for open. Say you need to drop the hammer immediately. And violently when people do something this corrupt they absolutely have to take legal action against us employees. They have to sue the employees. Yes that sounds crazy so According to a report by the block crypto the employee in question is allegedly open seas head of product. Nate chastain Now i would normally not say the name of the person but since it's already out there and it's everybody's talking about it in the news it's not like me not saying it changes anything The front running was uncovered by numerous twitter users trays chest pains transactional data using a site called either scandal. I open sea is built on a theory and utilize the smart contracts so all transactions are recorded and searchable. He purchased cyberpunk number three five. I used to transactions to another secret wallet. Where was flipping and t according to the twitter. User chastain was flipping and if tease for tax returns in under ten minutes and setting the prophets back to his original account. Okay this is where the immutable blockchain comes in handy. This idiot i mean not only is what. He's doing criminal unethical immoral. It's also stupid. I mean this is one of the great things about criminals. If he's a a actually a criminal. You know whoever did this. Let's let's assume he's innocent for now whoever we would do this is moral and this is why criminals get caught so off. Gustav do something so stupid. Why wouldn't you create ten different accounts. Use other coins wash trade them etc until the point at which you couldn't trace them back to him So i mean really it as far as frauds go this one Was caught but to me. This means that the department of justice and the sec now need to do a full investigation. That's right you can't say these things are insecurities if your own employee orange flipping them. Ten acts to make a profit and you know what that means. that means. You're manipulating your own customers for your prophet now. I have told you scenarios over and over again of how people might manipulate the system. This one i never used. Because i thought it's kind of obvious that insiders at a company could do this. "When the olympics start will be the most talented team in tokyo. Hands down no question. Most talented team in tokyo with the roster that they have but this is like a five alarm fire right now howard. This loss to nigeria. I don't care if they win the rest of these pre olympic games which will take place through next sunday. This has to make you nervous if you're a fan of the team because not only is it this. The loss to nigeria. But you go back two years ago at the world championships where you had a us team. That was good. Didn't have probably better team now than they were back in two thousand nineteen but all nba players. They finished seventh. They've been seventh at the world championships. You have the seventh-place finish the loss of nigeria. How concerned are you howard beck about. Usa basketball. It's just an exhibition game. Chris oh no no. It's not just an exhibition game. Stop this team was thrown together over the last however many weeks they had what like three practices. I think i'll ever. Us team is thrown together. What are you talking about. There's no team. There's no no mid season practices for usa basketball. No but the nigerian team has been practicing. What i'm saying is some of the play in the nba though wants win the nba nba. A few of them play in the nba but that team has had time together more so than the team. Sorry brown coaching. that team. That i missed was that a facsimile of mike brown on the bench all season long. What what are we talking about. The warriors have been out for like two months kris k. Okay so two months. that's what matters. That's that's the number three three practices. Also they're still missing. I believe at least three guys because they're playing in the finals right now. Booker middleton chris paul get it. Yes not chris. Ball's not playing a holiday with the the what holland is your holiday. Those those guys will matter especially given that middleton and holiday are to the better perimeter defenders that that team. Usa has and if you look at the rest of team usa's roster. I don't see a ton of great defenders. There there are a few. I think those three guys by the way are going to be exhausted by the time they get to. They may well be. They may will be so. We're going to judge them. Judging when their whole judge when the games matter to strange to me like we don't judge nba teams based on the preseason but we judge team usa based on these exhibition games. That they do going into international competition. I feel like it's thirty. One point favorites. Why why is there betting line on a freaking exhibition better training but a little league baseball. Now country degenerates damn right. I didn't mean chris i'm with. Let's go monday. Nigeria money line. I just. I can't get too excited about this. If they lose the rest of the exhibitions does that mean something. Yeah that might be alarming if they're if they're still struggling to find some cohesion. That could be alarming. But i mean the talent is obviously their talent alone doesn't win on the international stage in style of game is different team ball matters. Shooting matters like yeah. There's a bunch of budget stuff that comes into play. But i i find the panic over this loss or at least the outcry to be a little bit much. So you don't take into account the seventh-place finish in two thousand nineteen. I mean that to me. It's the it's not just as game. The totality of it right. Like and i don't know howard like so in the early two thousands the world kind of caught up to the us ninety to ninety six thousand us. Gold maps then comes the two thousand two world championships in indianapolis and that's seven. The place finish was one of the worst worst outcomes in at least recent usa history. They got it together after that. They hired jerry colangelo. They bringing mike chef ski. They get their act together. Two thousand six two thousand eight then. They run off. Three consecutive years are three consecutive cycles of gold. Medals is argon. Made that like the world's caught up again that somewhere along the way and the last four or five years. The rest of the world has once again caught up usa basketball. I'm trying to understand this. I mean that's close games in those olympics cycles. No question about it. But i can't imagine the oh eight. Twelve or sixteen team losing nigeria. I can't exhibition or otherwise. I can't see it happening. No team and the and the one that followed it were built around like lebron koby. Carmelo enjoying wait. I mean that that groups at another level like as good as this group is that we're seeing right now as talented as they are after k. D. tatum's really good damian. Lillard is great. I mean come arbit- tatum. Bill lillard auto bio levin. Draymond dream ends up there in years but one has won some things. Jeremy grant jeremy grant zach living out of like. These are guys who have done anything in the nba yet. But they're all stars most they're they're also but are they to level of lebron kobe now but do you think is that what you're saying then is that what you're saying to be at the level you need to have like i'm saying the crop to win. I'm saying that if we're going to start comparing the twenty twenty one team to the twenty eight a two thousand eight two thousand twelve teams there is. There is not an equivalent right now. Lebron kobe laurent cobaine weight. And plus what we what. We called olympic. Mellow like carmelo. Didn't have the success in the nba. That some of his teammates did but carmelo in terms of talent level and certainly has resume like that group was at a whole other level. That group is a different level than jason. Tatum bam outta bios. Zach levine. Okay so not saying that you necessarily should have to have that level of time firepower to win an exhibition game against nigeria. Or anybody else. But i am saying comparing usa to itself different iterations of team usa. This one is not that one. This is not as dominant group as the ones we saw in eight and two thousand twelve. It just isn't what do you do like. What's the solution here. Like i mean i jerry. Colangelo deserves an enormous amount of credit for rebuilding that program when it was at. Its nadir mitra chefs. He comes in enormous amount of credit for what they did. But as we sit here in twenty twenty one like it's almost to me howard like the usa basketball rebuilding. The program became cool. Like lebron wanted to do it. Chris paul like dwayne wade. These guys wanted to do it and then they did it. And i think playing for usa basketball didn't become quite as cool as it was fifteen years ago. Like is that what has to happen like does not need to have like a fifth place finish in tokyo for all of a sudden the next generation of a-list stars wherever that may be in two thousand twenty four to come back into the mix and is that the only way this team can win. I mean i think we need to pay attention to the overall context like obviously one. These olympics were supposed to happen a year ago. They're delayed a year because of covid got durant out of it though like that right. It's questionable whether these the olympic should be happening at all still but along the way because of these back to back brutal seasons and everything else like team. Usa doesn't have james harden right now. Doesn't have anthony davis because of the injury doesn't have steph curry doesn't have kyrie irving doesn't have lebron kawai again. If your argument is that the second or third tier it sounds like sounds like insulting. Somehow but if you're saying that the next wave believe after those guys should still be good enough to dominate on the world stage. Maybe but if the point is that the team as best are they still. Are they still able to win. Gold fairly easily. Your probably but a bunch of them aren't on this team right now because of injuries and just the stress of the last year or two so this this is not necessarily representative of the best of the best right now. It just isn't and yes. They should still be good enough to win. Yes the world has caught up to some extent. No the the group that at nigeria's put it put out there last week. Does not leap off the page improbably. Us should've still want it. But again i exhibition game after like three practices. Let's see what happens with the rest of this. This schedule out brought mellow back. I mean he's not what he was four years ago. Eight years ago twelve years ago but the guy knows how to play international basketball. He might have sat. maybe. I guess. I didn't really. I assume that he just want to keep. He didn't kind of like four formerly re retire from the olympics. But it'd be pretty much says like i'm done like lebron kinda did to get talked into it. I feel like. I don't know if i was if i was the usa team would try really hard to get carmelo blake because his style. Whatever it is to the nba is perfect for the national basketball. He's a really good or national basketball player. On this subject damian lillard. He spoke for the first time. Since the hiring of chauncey billips. Only listen to what little had to say about his future in portland. I'm prepared to go in and do my job every year. Like hopefully we make strides over direction and could become a better team a new coach notice. That's where i am. What soured it sounds like. Lillard is at least nominally on board with going back to the blazers. But if i'm a team out there with assets. I don't listen to that response and say well it's over damian. Lillard is back on the same page with the portland trailblazers. If i'm a team with assets i hold onto those assets because it feels to me like the blazers might be one like sixteen to start from blowing that whole thing up with louis mccollum on the way out the door so get the sense now. That seems more likely than not that damian lillard at blazers training camp. He's in ablaze uniform. He starts the season with the portland trailblazers. But if it doesn't work with chauncey billips early and you get close that trade deadline. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see portland decide. Look we've got a. We've got to do something here and opened the door for damian lillard trade. What do you think. I think that nothing has changed. I think that his remarks last week because he sounded a little bit lukewarm. Or just you know you hear one of two things. Well you want to hear one thing if you're a portland trail blazers fan or if you're just looking for any indication that lillard is all in your you want to hear him say listen. I know things are rough right now. But i'm all in you know this is. This is where. I want to be you to repeat all the usual talking points that you hear from players in his position and that we've heard from bradley beal that we used to hear from james harden houston. Which is a win in phil in city fill in the blank with the city. I want to win here. I don't wanna go somewhere else. You know we're going to get this right blah blah. He didn't go down the usual list. And so i think it left open. Some interpretation but getting has changed like the disappointment was clear when the season ended. Some of the things have happened since including obviously the the the train wreck away they went about the the coaching search and lillard. Being caught in the crossfire. There at feeling heat from fans about chauncey billips being selected and so. I don't think we should expect he's going to be rah. Rah right now The trailblazers have a lot of work to do. But we also have not even hit the summer yet. Like there's the draft hasn't happened yet. Free agency hasn't happened yet. There's there's a lot of work to be done. And i think if you're damian lillard which you're probably doing is internally saying here's what i need to see happen externally saying you know what let's let's wait and see i mean you see. He can't he can't say publicly the same things that he's telling say neal o'shea right about what the the state of the roster i i would think that there are some very impassioned debates or discussions being held behind closed doors about what they need to get this thing right and if they can't get it right the he might shift is his stance about staying there long term. But that hasn't happened yet that we know of. What do you think the most interesting potential conversation is amongst players over these next four weeks like i'm kind of curious what jason tatum bradley beal talk about. Tatum and beal close friends dating back to their highschool days both went to the same high school bill with something of a mentor to jason. Tatum actually got him involved with his trainer. Drew hanlin which helped. Tatum elevate his his personal skills and they've talked about how happy they are to be playing together. Played the all star game together for the first time beal last year of his contract. Like you know we've seen these conversations yield real tangible conversation. You'd like to be a fly on the wall on for any of these guys in the next couple of weeks. Yeah i mean look we. We have a history now going back over a decade. If we're to believe that the that the heels were formed in part through team usa activities. You know which is true which is true. That's that's yielded an extra things guy. You know guys who you mentioned. Tatum and bill because they were already friends but guys also become friends through this experience right and then they start getting the ideas about playing together. Like oh hey. This is a lot of fun. Let's do this again in the nba. So there's i'm i'm sure some of that is is happening. It always does. Who else in that group. I mean man. If any of these guys that'd be trying to recruit bam out a bio but he's too early in his in his contract with miami to pry him loose from there And you know the heater still a pretty potent team but you know jimmy butler is up there in miles and outta bios future won't necessarily be there forever. That's the way it goes in the nba. I think tatum has the potential to be like the biggest recruiter. They're like he's about to start the first year of his max level extension. He can recruit bill. But like you can also does damian lillard like. It's great to play in boston. I love it here. Answer some questions of my have a playing on the east coast for the first time. Like i think data might be boston's best asset at this point. Yeah again some of this comes down to bradley. Beal's coming up to that point where he has the leverage to task out because of his contract lillard under contract for several more years and so he's not in that position. So what if it says. Like i need to go like. I don't foresee the blazers being no finish your contract. Just don't see it. i think right. And they would work with him on a deal to sure but directing it is harder so beal can use the leverage of his free agency to say well if you send me to team x. I'm not gonna resign there. Which then blows up that deal and he can direct himself to the team he really wants to be at lillard would have a harder time to doing that. Because he doesn't have free agency looming two to play that card. Yeah well i encourage any reporter. That's in tokyo tatum. Beal and lillard talking to each other. Just take a picture and then let the internet go wild crazy because it will unquestionably last thing for you. Howard the breaking news. This week in the coaching ranks. Is that jamal moseley is headed to orlando moseley of course last with dallas. A really well respected assistant coach there. Who was a candidate for that. Maverick job before. It went to jason kidd my immediate reaction to that higher howard beyond i think being an excellent choice for orlando is that we're gonna look at at moseley and jason kidd on parallel tracks. The next couple of years moseley. There was a strong case to be made that he should have been elevated to that head. Coaching job he'd been considered for other head coaching jobs. Before most recently in new york he had by all accounts a great relationship with luka doncic i understand bringing kit in he's got a history with dallas and as riccar lau said publicly having a player that played the game like kid and having a player that plays the game like don-shik make some sense to pair those two guys together. But there's always going to be as i watched these two situations unfold. I'm gonna wonder you know. Did the mavericks make the right choice. Leading jamaa moseley go and bringing jason kidd in and there's so many variables in this the first being at orlando's in step one or maybe even steps zero of a massive rebuild right there in the negatives right now. I think there's still maybe more fat to trim on that roster before they really bottom out. Yeah and you know you talk about trying to build around. You know markelle foltz. And and jonathan isaac jonathan isaac for so long. They're getting hurt and he's a great player but they've loved writing in a weird way john stays healthy. He's still more of a complementary store right like he's he's a potentially defensive player of the year at some point. He's not a guy who you're building an offense around though and marquel foltz okay. He he got himself back on track in orlando. He has a career now where he didn't have one but he's not a foundational building block. Come on like that's crazy so the roster doesn't have much talent jamal. Moseley's is coming into a situation. Which a lot of first time head coach is committed to which is all right. There's a lot of work to do so You're gonna have to do a lot of development. You're going to have to take a lotta lumps in the win loss column. It's gonna be rough going for the first year or two or maybe three. Let's see how they can get things going. But you know as it has been a certain other like kenny. Atkinson came to look a completely hopeless situation in brooklyn but was known as development coach in atlanta. And sure enough. Everybody who went there. Joe harris spencer. Dinwiddie jared allen versus lower. First round picks. Guys who were you know whether they were reclamation projects whether they were low picks everybody seems to get better the second they went to brooklyn and play kenny atkinson and his staff congenial. Moseley have the kind of effect in orlando can the front office. Get him to kind of guys. That will thrive in that in that kind of environment and carve out careers from cells and carbon identities. Jamal moseley has a lot going for him. And we've heard like many great things about it but we often hear great things about assistant coaches who don't end up panning out so i always. We have to caution ourselves on these things. Because i thought. Brian shaw was gonna be a great head coach and he was. Everybody loved him all the players sung as praises when he was associate head coach under frank. Vogel indiana he goes to denver probably just the wrong guy at the wrong time but he hasn't had another shot since then but that went really badly. Brett brown was really great in in some respects for the for the early years of the process and then suddenly. It seemed like they'd hit some sort of ceiling. Eager kokoschka of had been talked about for years is a great assistant. Coach didn't work out. Swells head coach in phoenix. David dale bumpy ride in memphis and then disastrous in new york. We just don't know like luke walton. Another example like there are plenty of coaches who as their when their assistance. We hear and see the best of them and then you know some of them be go on it and have great success coaches. I mean tyler has been fantastic. Mike malone has been fantastic money williams. Nick nurse dwayne casey a lotta longtime assistance. Get their shot and then you know it. It works out in a dozen. It's all contextual. It's all just the opportunity you have the thing for dallas is. They went with a guy who has experienced jason kit. That experience was not necessarily good experience. Like i think most people around the would look at what he did in milwaukee in brooklyn and say. I'm going to steer clear. Maybe you'd rather have the the unproven. Jamal moseley versus the somewhat proven jason kidd but. I don't think we'll know what the right choice was there for a while yet. Because it's it's gonna take some time before we can evaluate moseley as head coach. I maybe jason kidd learned something in two years as an assistant. I mean that happens. You know working with lebron for entire for two entire seasons working under frank vogel maybe picked up some things that'll be useful to him as a head coach. Moseley to me. The key is giving him time. Like you've got to be committed to moseley for a minimum. I think of three years and more likely five years. And then you see what you have in head coach. You mentioned gore. I mean it's worked out for phoenix. Absolutely but i do think he got hosed out there i mean he only had one year on the job and that year was without deandra aiden chris. Paul had devon booker of course but that was not a good team that he was coaching. There i gotta get moses the because you want to see what the guy can do when you put that team in a position to win a great example to me is james breglio in charlotte. I mean berea. Was one of those guys assistant coach elevated to head coaching position in charlotte. Not great first couple of years there but when he was given players and chance to win he did pretty well. I mean up until lamelo ball went out the horns were really good team and i think they will be a good team. Going forward in part because of the borrego is a pretty good coach. I want to see this magic team. Invest heavily in jamal. The you're the guy developed these guys and we'll keep you around no matter what the won loss record says until you get a chance to win then you judge like brett brown six or seven days since brett brown left but i can see the for letting go of brett brown. I mean they had a talented team and to a degree the underachieved. But you've got to let the coach get a roster on that level before you really make any decisions about whether they can coach. Yeah well and that's the thing about. This is what set up says apart. I think the good organizations from the bad ones is that you you decide when you choose a guy. Especially if he's a longtime assistant not a guy with head coaching experience. And you've said we believe in this guy. This is somebody who's got a great trekker record as an assistant. We're going to first opportunity. It's your obligation to when you say investment. Yeah it's time investment. It's a give them all the tools to succeed. Give him the time to succeed. You've decided you believe in him. So stand behind that have the conviction to stand behind that and take some bumps along the way you know maybe maybe memphis and or the knicks should have stuck with david physed longer. You know we had heard nothing but great things about fiscal coming out of miami. Initially we may yet you know. Find out that he. He can be great head coach in the right situation. Maybe those worth rights situations. He might be one of those guys though. I love physios and assist one of those guys. Though the just the temperament is always important. Like the government like memphis yet. Some battles with market assault didn't work out your plus new york. You just might be one of those guys that doesn't have the right temperament to be is based on what we've seen a memphis in new york might be better suited for these ranks but if he succeeds in l. a. I think he'll get another chance right. Maybe i think the point being though that if you as an organization have identified a guy instead he we believe in him then. Okay then believe in him. Stick with them and make sure you've given them enough tools to succeed Is it a pulling the plug at the first sign of of struggle and that's what happens in the nba. too often. is that seems panic. You know the fans turn. There's some minor flare up. Oh the coach and player got into it. Whatever it may good teams that can happen on as well. And it's it's just. It's the way franchises. React so you have to know whether or not the guy is is is right and then stick with them. And so yeah. Let's jomo's should get a nice long here. She got a ton of latitude in orlando given where they are as an organization given the state of that roster. Yeah i agree. Howard enjoy milwaukee looking forward to hearing the conversation with the lazarus on friday. You can check podcast. Right here on the crossover feet again. Make sure you listen to howard's interview. Spencer dinwiddie from last week. It was really really strong. Enjoy -joy the mid west our. We'll talk when you're back on the northeast always a pleasure. My friend the newest player in the pre nba basketball landscape is overtime. Elite elite will begin playing sometime in the fall. And we'll be headlined by some of the top now. Former high school players in the country players would be paid minimum one hundred thousand dollars with some making north of that and have access to high level facilities training as well as educational programs to help. Get a better grasp on that. I'm joined by brandon williams the head of basketball operations for overtime. Elite and kevin ollie the former. Nba guard uconn. Coach was the head coach and director of player development bread. And i want to start here with you. Just kind of give me the ten thousand foot view overtime elite. What are the objectives. What what what was behind the formation of this league. I think any of us. Chris who've been around for a long time i've actually seen Sort of the downside of young players who entered into professional ranks to this point. It's been the nba Who are not ready. And so what does that mean you know not not ready to form and be stars or is it just not ready to be great teammates or is it not ready to be good partners. is sort of all that you know the idea that the work day is much longer than they know. And that there's more responsibility to be in a professional athlete The responsibilities to families and communities we just have to do a better job preparing them and here was an opportunity to be part of a program that wanted to address all that. It's not just about being a good player. It's like we wanna address the whole athlete. Hope so on. Three levels were hitting basketball. Easiest thing understand. I think businesses in our world is education And then there's brand you know. These young people now are moving at a speed that we aren't as older folks and they want to build things An earlier age particularly off the court so building a brand is important something that can last well beyond their tread on tire so we're hitting it in basketball business brand. That's that's that's really thirty thousand foot view. Kevin what attracted you to this job. Just like his dad is the whole person being able coach them from a mind body and soul Experience and understanding the mindfulness athlete I've seen it from a pro level. Got up tune into play thirteen years with twelve different teams so i understand like the different trials and tribulations you go through with a player not saying that these players are gonna go through that but is getting them more prepared if they do come into some certain situations where it's not typically going the right way. How can they manage that situation. So what they do today can echo into tomorrow and having the ability to kana paint on a black blank. Canvas is what a really attracted to me to to this you know. Ot league program we can take the player really shape the curriculum you not with teaching them about subjects. But we're really teaching them about themselves as well from media training From mental health issues. All the different things that come involved because we all know chris is stress. You know from success is a lot of pressures is a lot of people pulling at you. It's a lot of people won't certain things. But how do you deal with that from a player's standpoint where you can play when you get on the basketball court and half clear and not be caught up in the distractions of off the court issues. Um as desks desks were really kind of vocal. Spirit to give back in it and how these kids you know. Have these players be available at the moment of truth to make the right decisions and that was very important to me. Kevin as you mentioned you played in the nba brand. You played in the nba. As well i wanna ask both of you guys and kevin. I'll start with you like if this was available to you as sixteen. seventeen year. Old looking back. Would you have founded attractive with a definitely founded attractive You know i kind of thought the box anyway. I was from chris. Shaw from from from south central and i chose connecticut. So you places that. I didn't even know nothing about growing up. You always thought out the box and never wanted to go down a path that everybody was going down So i was always curious. And i think that's how my mom especially my mom. My dad raised me. So i definitely been curious of this situation. No no speaking now without you know took it. I'm not sure. But i think it really gave me another option to look at it and this is what we're trying to do not saying that the ncaa is wrong overtime. Leaders wrong or right. It's not about that. It's about if you really care about the student. Athletes you give them as much options as possible. And i think this gives the lee student athlete. Another option and i think you know it's a very Great option for them to have and if they choose overtime league we're going to give our whole heart to make sure they're developed on and off the basketball court chris i- jumping after coach It would have been interesting. Chris but i certainly would not have been a candidate i would. Let's just get that right. What what things that's important. We sit down going through just grassroots community and we spent months just talking to people educating about. You know what we're about who we are. Each of us has a reputation in some other space. Not here The this program isn't for everybody is not the right fit for everybody. We are cherry picking and a lot of ways. These are players that feel like they are destined for professional basketball. There are a lot of sixteen year olds. That don't know that yet and their parents aren't convinced that yet in people that support them. Don't don't feel that confidence yet. They may be another year away or two years away but this is not. This is not the right path for everyone. Twenty four athletes roughly twelve per class. We're looking at juniors and seniors and the truth is at this age. What was really funny about scouting them is everybody's skinny and like a lanky and underdeveloped and still has like a mountain of upside to you know to to get through before you can really see who they're going to be but you know if you have a young player like brand williams who's just dreaming of being an nba player but does not much certainty. That's even realistic We gotta be very careful about this approach In taking because there there are risks but for those that that have already established in this deke. They've established a day of separated from their class. You know jaylen. Lewis has an example the most recent example. He's he's he's elevated in separate. The draft isn't tomorrow though so there's still a lot of work to do but he's already in front running physician and it gives everyone low confidence that this is the kind of investment and the kind of pet that would make a ton of sense for players like that. Let me follow up on that brandon. Because you're you're entering. What suddenly become a fairly crowded space in terms of leagues like this. You know the g. league ignite is one season in but they've had a measure of success. We've seen jalen green probably a top pick. Jonathan kamenga top five or six. Then you have the ncw with this. Recent ruling allowing top players to make money off their name image and likeness. How does how does the elite separate itself from that group. Why think i is. We start a little bit sooner so the g. league zone a great job with what we call it a year the prep year that year. That a recent graduates would be going to college and they've already been hacking the system you know going to italy or china So so there's a market for those players and we want an alternative to college for for for us though. Our players are seeking an alternative to high school so we are a school but we think about the resources that were bringing to the table first of which being an nba like environment You know start coach. Ali coach lehto in a robust set of staff. I mean scouting staff a high performance staff administrative team. Our goal was to simulate an nba organization for for young athletes at sixteen seventeen eighteen. Th there there is no other environment. Like that. And i think the big way that we separate with high school athletes Is that both domestically and internationally. We're able to put twenty four of them together in a building. So what we're selling is the best competition for these guys starts at home. I mean every day in line coaches don't minister drills administer competition aspects of practice and getting ready for games but when you look to the right and left and i noticed as a player. There's no weak link. I mean everywhere you look. There's somebody that's doing what you're doing and possibly doing more. Because they they are not just dreamed about the into the league or to the high level. They're on their way there That's where we've been able to. I think create a little separation from others that have tried or looked at something. Like this kevin. How do you approach this job. Do you do it in a similar mindset and you had at uconn where you have young players you also you know yukon. You had to keep them academically eligible you to follow that pretty closely. I mean is there is it a similar mindset or do you take a different tact. I think you just let it be you know. Similar is not. It's just whatever comes you say yes to it and you cultivate hope from it I never coached high school players. They was always you know graduated from high school. And now they're freshman's This situation is a little different in in was recruiting for two to three years. This situation is a little different. But you know from me. Chris i love the unknown about it. And that's the space i live in. Not just wanna make sure that. I have the space incorporate something in these players that they can just think about it can build from a have a foundation so when they make the transition they have every tool in the toolbox to say okay. Oh that's a problem Assess it let me be able to correct it. Let me obsessed. Let me be aware of it and i think that's the difference between you know coaching a high school kid in in the college. Kid i mean you get able to mold them a little bit better and then you have to understand where they at. Now you know back then. I didn't have social media. We didn't have social media now. These kids these players are building their brand a little bit earlier and now you just meet them where they are. And i can't wait to get them up on campus get them up until atlanta just continue to build a great relationship. Welcome spend time with the one on one in. This situation is going to provide us to do a lot more skill development that i didn't have a really good opportunity and it had not one say good opportunity. I didn't have the best opportunity. Because there's so many things we own a row recruiting You own a row fundraising these different things. Brandon's taken care of in. Dan porter is taken care of. I can just really coach the player and work on his skill development on and off the basketball court. So it's really given me my own lane. So i can really perform my job. Mama job is really breaking down and relationships it starts. Relationship is start with trust. Stars will hold is spending time with the the young student athletes on and off the basketball court and pushed them to greatness and the competition is not on. our side of competition is with him. You know can you beat your previous best bestself. Can you be better than today you know. Can you be better tomorrow than you were date. And that's what i'm coaching. And that's what i love to do. And i think we're going to have some great young man as open as biden has going to be vulnerable going to try to reach for the sky. In the sky is going to be ob- you is not going to be limits. I can't wait to get up to atlanta. We've been having some many camps. Chris has been wonderful to get back on the court with the guys. And i'm looking forward to the next mini camp and dan looking forward to getting them up to atlanta. So we really can go to work. You know when. I was was talking to brian. shaw a couple of months ago. Kevin about how he was coaching. The ignite you know it was a lot of pro stop. He was trying to bring to that team. Are you taking that same. Approach you trying to coach them like their nba players or something different. No it's nothing different is just. I'm building pro. Habits in every situation is going to be different. Chris this is going to be some guys. Come in you know. Say for instance like a. John montero will we got him and he you know is a little bit more advanced than some other players because he's been a pro- already and then it's going to be another situation where we gotta talented guy might not be able to get quick but these opportunities we can go at our own pace we can sit down and talk to them but we're really teaching and building pro habits and those habits is going to translate over to them being great pros when that opportunity come invest in the nba are the euro league so every day you know we are building like a practice plan like more of a college practice plan nba practice bandwidth doing drills. That i got from my numerous stops in the nba. You know we're doing sets in the nba. Then we gotta understand that sixteen years old as well you know and maybe sometimes you gotta you know kinda doubt it down a little bit. But i'm gonna let com. I'm going to let that go. i'm not going to focus on one of it. I'm not gonna say oh. We're doing this process. Each and every day every day is different. And that's what i love about the unknown. And i'm gonna treat it like that and we just gonna continue to bill because i think we got great mas and organization that really want to coach the whole person. And that's what i'm really excited about. You decided to upgrade your outdoor deck. So you ordered the essentials. Power washer said a patio chairs and a shiny new grill. And you use your bank of america. Customized cash rewards credit card choosing to earn three percent cashback online shopping and up to five point. Two five percent preferred rewards member which you put toward your most essential deck addition a bird feeder of yours at bank of america dot com slash more rewarding copyright two thousand twenty one bank of america corporation support for this podcast comes from invent together according to studies less than thirteen percent of all inventors who hold a us patent are women black and hispanic college graduates patent at half the rate of their white counterparts. But we can fix that by increasing participation innovation and patenting by underrepresented groups. It would quadruple. The number of american inventors and increase annual gdp by almost one trillion dollars. Invent together is a coalition of organizations companies. Universities and concerned citizens committed to ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to invent and patent because the more diverse. The american patent system gets the stronger and more successful. our nation will become. What can you do to help. Divers inventors patent and unleash economic opportunity. Find out at invent together dot org learn more and take action today brandon not to continue to compare this team to the ignite but when i talked to sharieff abderrahim about that i mean. I had asked him about the sustainability of that team. Given how much. Money was being poured in to pay some of the players. And he bobbed and weaved floyd mayweather trying to answer that question. Because it's it's hard to commit to it without say a television contract more sponsorships and things like that when you can you speak to kind of the sustainability of this because we've seen startups with an influx of cash. Get get in big the first year. But then peter out. I mean what needs to happen. Four overtime elite to become a long term successful program while has got to answers. I think you know a concept. I mean we're we're selling on the ability to develop young players and have a more more pro ready right. So this is. This is the path we are offering basketball development. Call it professional Business development And we are also like leveraging. What is an incredible media platform that again. The things that we like to call a distinguishing factors. That's a huge one. So not to bob and weave one. We gotta be good ass. You know that. That's how have long deputy spurs the spurs. They were good for really long time. And so we've got the that there were good at this note. No pressure on kale right The the the second piece though is you know and this comes from my my time in the nba. It just wasn't that long ago where it out of chicago. Pre-draft combine interview. If i said. I wanna build my brand. Everybody in the room was like smirking and like you know what. What are we talking about like. It's about basketball basketball basketball And you know if you are young team developing and not winning a lot of games truth is you can't sell just basketball because your basketball isn't great you got to sell personalities and stories in that there's something that people can invest in in fall in love with other than like the final score like otherwise. The sixers had no chance right any any development team yet to buy into a story and for us. I think we have a chance to create stories but we get a chance to show those stories because we have a platform. So it's it doesn't take much. I mean i'm not a social media guru. But when i got recruited for this job haven't been around the block a little bit certainly from an nba perspective. I heard a couple of things. I really got my attention. One was fifty million followers That's eyeballs and we all know that that Business follows the eyeballs in whatever in whatever respect. The other was which is unfair. Because i think that number changes month over month but it started at one point four and not set maybe one point eight or one point nine billion with a b. billion views of content a month that overtime in some ways has found a way to the heart. The mind of young people It is being communicated and solid as you know the generation z. sort media and content engine We are doing an amazing thing here which is developing young talent in a pure way that we want to make sure that they are prepared. Top to bottom to do well on the court to do well and communities to do well in business but then there's this other thing which is they want to be known like. No player wants to play in an empty building. Everybody wants to play where it matters. They wanna play. When nick can rock and like the building and just like recognizing their talent. We're just artists. And one thing that is kind of showcase. By one event that that overtime overtime the media company producing s called. You see it on youtube to. Is that over. Hundred million people watched that. I mean that that's not an insignificant number that players that are going to play overtime. Lee will have the opportunity to be known The the opportunity of bring brick big brands to the table and support this platform If not already indicated by the kinds of investors that that have shown interest but the brands that are coming to the table our sustainability is going to be showing value delivering value to not just the athletes but to overtime visibility. I would imagine great for them but can you monetize it. Can you make it so this league is in the black or does it need to be in the black every year. Well my the good news is as a basketball man. No different than a different than the is Get a budget. My job is to be fishing and and spend wisely. I i'm not. I'm not asked to sell tickets or generate revenue that's for a tremendous And in successful a business operations Our job is to make sure that what we are delivering is high is a high level product That you see the growth and development of our young players. What's there recruited. We gotta make them better. They need to be able to perform and probably the best testament of our success is going to be our nba. Gm voting with this pick right but with a coach saying like they did a nice job. This guy was. Well coached testament to takeo and the rest of the coaching staff. That if we're doing that will prove successful. Because guess what the next crop of recruits when we're in the gym like we're not chasing them. There's sort of meeting us at at minimum half way. We need to keep bringing high level taliban and developing talent to prove successful and i have a tremendous set of partners across academics and across content media. That will will do their part to elevate our business. Can you expecting to tap into some of your. nba relationships. I mean as you mentioned thirteen teams in twelve seasons. You've made a lot of friends over the years. We're going to see like san preston sitting in the crowd for your practices as a whole so sam and so many gyms that i know you know Kevin durant and all these guys are destinies in overtime. Just having them be around. We had our first minicamp. Ray allen showed up and not only showed up. He brought his son to work out with guys. Just it was just amazing. does just see how the branches that we can continue to pull up on and they continue to pull on us and be a partnership in. This thing is going to be great. Are you expecting to have kind of drop ins. Durant's involved with the league. You expecting these guys. Just be around. Which i would imagine would be both a resource for you but also an attractive quality to this league definitely. Definitely we going to build a place where it's going to be hopefully a development premier development destination for everybody and you know hopefully katie can come out and work out with guys and russell westbrook and james harden and all these guys that we know and i know i had opportunity to be evolved. Then it's kinda beat a veteran guys We want them to be around. Because it's not. Just me sean. It's also watching tape like these are the different drills and look how k. d. and look how chris paul is using the pick and rolls and now they're showing up that's a that's a big big bang for us with us growing these young talented student athletes To get them inspired to the next level and they're doing a great job done only gonna do. I coached him. Chris a coach me on a day to day basis. I'm open to that and we just really want to have a love affair with guys and and the end of the day chris. We want appease the basketball guys. We wanna play the right way. We want to share a basketball. We wanna run. We wanna have fun. We want how to join the game but it can't just be me me me. It has to be weak. And i'm wanting to teach guys how to be involved in any system they get drafted about. They can be a part of a productive system and be a productive partner in in the community as well no matter what city they when they arrive to the nba brandon. Before let you go. What schedule gonna look like i mean is this team playing. Just walk me through kind of what these kids are getting into. And what kind of schedule you gonna be able to put together so schedule that that is really interesting for everybody. And i wanna try to illuminate. But i've got to be careful we are still contracting with some teams But for the audience the think about it in buckets. We're gonna play independent prep schools. That's going to be a significant part of our schedule. We are a high school so we are looking to schedule. Some of the top independence that you would typically no to have a national schedule can travel that have the ability to be mobile. We're scheduling home and away with with With those folks and it looks like net set as an example It looks like you know. Folks that are playing for a national title Arizona florida california. So it'll be a widespread travel schedule for us. We're also looking at European competition so think about junior euroleague as an example. Some of the best clubs the Insects as an example Where we can get a collection of sixteen to nineteen year old elite talent to compete against us. And then as i mentioned earlier on the show we really feel like the best competition is gonna come internally and that's where our league play Comes into effect so we are looking at our group of twenty four as three teams of eight. There will be standings you'll be able to track will compete against each other. That'll be a significant part of our schedule as well. We don't want to overstep our guys one of the things. We really wanna correct leading science. Guide us here. is is minimized the wear and tear. Nobody's while still developing and preparing for a professional level place so a schedule of maybe thirty five. To forty games is our target. We started september Training camp will will begin Play by mid august. We'll be done by by Late march is how we see our schedule shaping up i'm looking forward to it brennan kevin. It's a really interesting concept and hope you guys have a lot of success with an. I'll certainly be watching a lot of. Nba people will be watching but brandon. Stay out of a set of massachusetts. Kevin has like some basketball. Ptsd from all those bc. Matchups i'm sure would probably were so tough. I don't remember kevin. It's not real like talk about it. But lita past. We'd be six thousand. That's not very nice. That's hovering kevin brand. Thanks for joining me. I appreciate it all right. Thank you chris. Thanks so much.

Alibaba Share Fall Under Regulatory Pressure

"Alibaba shares falling today. After the company's web browser was pulled from app stores and china the move follows comments from chinese president. Xi jinping calling for increased scrutiny on big tech she sang regulators. Need to fill in gaps and loopholes when it comes to chinese tech companies dan. You're saying that one of the worst looking charts and the market is of h chinese tech company. And it's alibaba. I mean the news flow has been downright horrible for months now the stock has been very volatile If you look at it right here down from i think about two seventy five to just about two twenty six to twenty seven right here sitting right on a massive technical support. Look at that chart. It's a massive head and shoulders formation. Here really has to hold here. The news flow has gone from bad to worse. I'll leave that For tim but it seems like the chinese government is seriously looking to clamp down on this company and some of their entities. And i just think you want to be careful below those recent lows below two twenty. I get that really clamping down a harshly would be cutting off your nose to spite your face in way because these are these are national champion companies. Tim at the at the same time. They are requiring alibaba to do things like divest. Some of its businesses like ant financial that could really transform these businesses. And how they're valued. Yeah i actually more worried about this I you know alibaba media assets including what they hold in some american companies like twitter. But also billy billy which is a online video gaming platform it's a forty billion dollar company mean. The these are part of the nuggets of value. That i i actually like in owning alibaba so i'm not surprised that the regulator actually needs to do their job. I'm not surprised that they're they're doing. They're they're slapping on the risk. Call it the companies that have been front running the government. But it's the entire china tech sector. That's under pressure and the irony of this is is that this. Is you know where we were fighting. Many of our kind of geopolitical wars over the last couple years with china really control the internet called the next wave of technology companies which china wants to put them out there. I i don't run to the door at these levels. I gotta tell you to twenty very big support on bobbled

Seattle Seahawks Today: Latest Rumors On A Russell Wilson Trade

"Originally or a few a few weeks ago russell. Wilson's camp released some information that he was unhappy in seattle. They have not formally requested a trade but it seems like the relationship has some conflict there. he has a no trade clause in his contract. There were specific exemptions from four. Team's the cowboys. The saints the bears and las vegas after dak prescott signed is extent like talked about and the raiders recently have back derek carr. They've given their full support. They they wanna move forward their cars. So that really leaves the saints and the bears as the final two candidates for possibly getting russell wilson this offseason so saints are always in salary cap trouble From what. I've learned about the salary cap they can. They ended up being able to just move money around when they need to. But they're always close to reaching that point so they're always during the cat but it seems unlikely that they will be able to make a move for quarterback this price in this caliber. So when you re comes down to it. The bears like the front runners as the most desperate team. Four quarterback if you've watched the nfl shares have always had quarterback issues. They've been in quarterback hell so to speak for the past two decades and russell. Wilson could come in and immediately fix that so the bears are desperate. And i see the bears as the front running candidate to lead russell wilson or land russell. Wilson this offseason. So when did all this start with russell. wilson is come out of nowhere I would say to myself when i first saw. Russell wilson wants out. I was shocked. But although it's not that cut and dry comes down to russell wilson. Mp carol's relationship. So they've won a superbowl. They made playoffs made. They made the playoffs. Eight times in the last nine seasons which is absurd. It's absurd to think there was wasn't been playing in the nfl for the last nine seasons But he's been assault as they come. He's true winner. he goes to the playoffs. he's clutch and i see. The situation is very similar to the tom. Brady situation new england. You had tom brady and bill play for all those years. Winning all those super bowls and talk. Although tom brady wasn't playing up to his level he wasn't playing bad and they had that loss to the titans of the playoffs. And i think he just had those two egos bill. Belichick and tom brady kind of going at each other. And they've they've finally kind of just tired of that relationship and they wanted to move on. They wanted to start. Something new. And when quarterbacks are with the head coach for so long things start to take a turn for the worst so. I'm not sure if that's exactly what's happening with p carroll and russell wilson but there are a lot of similarities there so it was reported in week. Eleven of the season. That wilson stormed out of an offensive meeting when he was trying to offer insight as to what he wanted done as on a bit done for protection standpoint and so that was the first sign the second sign is just overall. He's been getting hit way. Too much. says he's sacked. He's been three hundred ninety four times since entering the league which is on pace to be the most sat quarterback of all time which is pretty insane when you consider how well he's played and he's just been under duress running for his life literally for the last his whole career and so seattle hasn't found a way to kind of sure up that protection for him. I think that's starting to get frustrating as well. So but more specifically in two thousand twenty. He had a week nine loss to the bills. This was a defining moment for this offense offense because after that moment. Russell wilson had started to throw a lot of turnovers making a lot of risky plays they lose to the bills. The seahawks kind of started to scale the offense back like i said to limit turnovers and did not perform well for the rest of the season so before that game. They were top. Three league based on expected points added per play. They were the number three the top three leak and then after that game from from weeknight on they felt a number eighteen the remainder of the season. So that's a huge huge drop off so they really sputtered down the stretch. They were able to win games and make the playoffs through to their defense. Kind of picking picking up. Their play was weird. Their offense was so good in the beginning the defense awful and he kind of flipped that latter half of the year but he's also getting hit It doesn't seem to meet on their offensive loss of beat philosophy and he. He's definitely voiced that he wants more of a say. In the franchise direction as the franchise quarterback so all these things culminating into one is. Where would he end up.

Goldman Sachs on S&P 500, Model Y Range, Tesla Police Vehicle

"Everybody rob our here today. We were talking about tessa. Stock and the s. and p. five hundred inclusion process. We have an updated note from goldman. Sachs talking a little bit about funds that may need to purchase tesla. We also have some news on the model y and then a recently published study by the fremont police department on using tesla as a police vehicle. All right so i up on the stock tussles. Green streak has come to an end finishing down one point nine three percent today to four hundred eighty nine dollars. Sixty one cents that compared to the nasdaq down zero point four percent and two again quickly. Check on the volume. As we've been doing for the last few days it was quite a bit lower today. Only about thirty two million shares traded hands. That was the two hundred and first highest volume rank day for the last year. So very low. That's out of about two hundred and fifty trading days was actually even below the one month average of thirty three million shares and well below the three month and twelve month averages around sixty million shares debt. If you're curious why. I keep talking about volume. It's because i anticipate a lot of shares needing to be purchased. So i do want to keep an eye on volume as we head into the snp inclusion. I do expect most of the related buying four. That will happen around inclusion. But who knows how much for there's going to be so i think if we see a lot of really heavy volume heading into that that might indicate a little bit more front running. So it's not normally something i watched super closely and i'm definitely not a technical analysis based investor. But just something. I'm kind of finding interesting for less period time. Quick related note next week. Is the week of thanksgiving. So the nasdaq will be closed on thursday november twenty. Sixth all day and then on friday the twenty seventh. We closed early so reopened until one pm eastern time. As for my schedule. I'll probably take thursday off and potentially friday. We'll see on that. But hopefully the seven episodes that. I put out this week as well as two interviews that i did the most recent of which is on the talking tesla podcast. By the way we'll make up for that next week. Okay so we've got a bit of an update here on the s. and p. five hundred situation a new note from goldman sachs. Has shed a little bit of light. On that. portion of funds that is benchmarked to the s. and p. five hundred remember. This is the portion of funds that their compensation is impacted based on the relative performance to the performance of the s. and p. five hundred versus the tracking funds. They're literally trying to replicate the performance of the s. and p. five hundred identically. So if we look at our little spreadsheet here that we've looked at many times based on today's closing price for the s&p five hundred and four tesla. It looks like the waiting would be about one point two five percent for tesla and the s&p index so the p last update. They gave us said that there was about four point. Six trillion in assets tracking the index. Saw one point two six percent of that should be allocated to tesla shares. That's about fifty eight billion dollars. Almost one hundred nineteen million shares and then additionally there is six point six trillion in benchmarked assets. So that's what we're talking about here with this goldman sachs update and one point. Two six percent of that six point six trillion would be eighty three billion or a hundred and seven million shares so focusing on that slice for now goldman sachs in an updated note. Overnight said quote of the one hundred and eighty nine large-cap core funds in our universe one hundred and fifty seven funds that manage around five hundred billion in assets under management did not hold tesla on september thirtieth and quote. Okay presumably here then. The one hundred eighty nine funds that goldman is referring to here are benchmarked against the s. And p five hundred. I don't have the full note. So i'm not sure if they stated that clearly but i do think it's the best assumption we can make so they're saying five hundred billion in assets under management for those one hundred and eighty nine funds. That's five hundred billion of the six point six trillion that we're talking about here so that's about seven and a half percent of the slice so then golden is saying that of those one hundred and eighty nine funds. One hundred and fifty seven of them didn't hold any tesla that's only seventeen percent of those funds so we don't necessarily know how the dollar distribution looks if one of those funds makes up the majority of that five hundred billion assets under management and they hold tesla the dollar percentage will look very different. But for now it's just assume it's the same at seventeen percent and then let's extrapolate that percentage to the six point six trillion and benchmarked funds. Broadly obviously quite a few steps. There were the math. Can break down. This is just a theoretical exercise but if we apply that then we could assume that of the six point six trillion and benchmarked funds about one point one trillion of that may already have a position and tesla leaving about five point five trillion. That does not so drop that. Six point six trillion down to five point five trillion. Assuming others already have tessa positions. If all those funds want to be equal weight on tesla they would need to buy sixty nine billion dollars. Tesla nice which one hundred and forty two million scherzer's. Obviously they could buy more. That could buy less. Could by not at all but doing anything other than being equal weight on tesla is an active choice to deviate their performance versus their benchmark based on how tesla's said another way if they don't know about tesla the safest thing for them to do is just to be equal weight so that it's not influencing their relative performance if we hop back to that goldman note per the bloomberg article on the topic. They say quote assuming those funds chose to hold the carmaker at benchmark. Wait they would need to buy eight billion dollars of the stock or about two per cent of tussles market value the analysts set and quote so many of you may have seen the headline articles about that today. That's just goldman saying that of these funds. These five hundred billion in assets under management those funds. We need to buy a billion to be equal weight. So there's walk in clients through the exact math and we've been walking through here for awhile. But on their universe as they say which is just a subset that seven and a half percent subset of the six point six trillion that the snp says is benchmarked against the s. and p. five hundred. We've now seen a couple of separate confirmations that overall the we've been walking through here is correct. I we had the snp announcement which indicated that okay. Yes it's going to be about a one percent weight that equates to about fifty billion in terms of shares that need to be bought so check that box and then here we have goldman sachs now the benchmark funds and how they would need to buy eight billion and that lines up well with the math that we've been talking about on the bench marked funds so i think good to see that i still don't really know how all this is gonna be able to work again if all that is equal weight. That's you know. Thirty eight percent of tesla's float you can't just take thirty eight percent of afloat off the market over the course of two weeks

"Like sky drives me insane. You're running the ball downhill. Just keep rogue grading people, Wilbon. A lot of AA. Lot of anger. Come from that WILBON Man Cave every week. I see that if that memorabilia could talk some serious stores all that angry Washington bullets thoughts. I'm sure thoughts on the Capitol survivor at he's not happy. I love him. I love it, but Well, but the cap. I think that's what he is, though, too. Don't forget. He's a pass First guy. It is a past first league. I mean, he is running there running the ball when you can't. We can't have the same argument right now that we had last year, saying like he's running the ball seven times a game eight times a game. I thought Montgomery had, but Montgomery had the best game. If Mitchell had a little bit of a better second half, I would've said Mitch had the best game offensively, but I mean, Montgomery led them with 82 yards. He had three catches for 45. So there they're using him. They're giving him almost 20 touches per game. It's not cab. It's not that he goes away from it. I just feel like sometimes the run plays themselves. Are you overthink them a little bit? That's just my opinion when your offensive line is getting off the ball and you're going downhill. And you're blowing him back and you know he's running for 5678 yards. Chunk. I would rather see that than some of the play calls they do when they attacked the edge because you know when you have Montgomery in these guys run side, I'll give Cordero Patterson credit to guys. He runs hard, Doesn't he know there's a guy whenever the ball's in his hand? You say what you want about his career, and he's never really hit Once one spot that guy runs hard. It gives you maximum effort, so it's an odd fit Jeff. It's like a It's like a Greyhound front run into a ground Hogs tunnel. When he tries to run between the tackles. It's just odd, but he but he, but he liked but he will give you yards. I would like to see his yak his yards after contact with the gun reasons really high. My point is when you bring the sideline involved. It's almost like to me like you're adding another defender on the plane. You're limiting your closing off your space. I don't know. I just feel like some of these design runs that are just straight around. I don't mind them running true Biscuit four times. I'm fine with that. But Just some of the calls in the situations. I still wonder if if maybe sometimes you know, we're just trying to be too cute. He trying to do cute out there, Jeff, we take a look at the second option offensively, Captain. I talked about this. Not just today. But for a while. Of Robinson's one. I'm starting to believe that the rookie Mooney last couple of games, is trying to solidify himself as the go to guys, so I'll ask you as faras weapons for Mitch. If it's Robinson, Is it moony and also some thoughts about the tight ends? Not being utilized Very well. Yesterday's game? No, not at all. Graham had one catch I wrote commits name one time when he had his first career catch. That was it. They tried a couple of shots, shots. Dimitri's Harris down the field, and that fell incomplete. That was his only target. Tight ends except for Jimmy Graham's touchdown against the Lions. Lad week. One also had that nice catch. That was almost a touchdown. Hasn't been much from that group. You know, Donald Moony look. He's a He's a fast guy, and when Mitch could make that was a great play by Travis Key to when he kept the play alive inside the pocket and moving and moving and.

"I'm in the front I told you I'm front running the hell out of this yeah the cubs the Reds what amount and they're good you sneak a look at the power rankings so we have a lot going on today will binds going to join us here in a minute we have a lot going on the hawks keep losing we keep we're arguing now with people about whether or not what they should do it they get better we ended up on a list today from barstool cheap because we were entertaining the notion of possibly trading just changed to re stock averages for the record I have many more questions than answers just down there nothing wrong with being inquisitive yeah asking quite there are no dumb questions while now when he comes in the in hockey there I'm sure there aren't yeah and then we're talking about the bulls we just played you some Windhorst about the way they spend their in a search I think they're letting everyone know till Casey Johnson was mentioning they were looking at the second in charge of the at the Pacers what's his name Cumberland is his name and I get that right number bun it's not Clumber blind then you can Chad Buchanan how did I come he's going to be the GM and he's gonna be doctor now yeah the doctor or check the job we're calling him Chad Cumberland okay if he gets the job he is officially Chad Cumberland not chat if you like a stage name doesn't it Chad Cumberland now to the stage on stage with we're talking about like if he's an actor you'd better radio DJ everybody this is Chad Cumberland bulls GM and doctor strange so that was one named Casey throughout their their I've heard a lot of guys too who are like second in command to other people well now now cap still believes a guy like Prust you're a bigger name could be on the table I don't know again like you heard from Windhorst if they could get a guy like that well that would cost let me ask you a question would you be willing to give a lottery pick for a a new general manager no no no no no no I mean even for and now they're all the same right you're now you're gonna get creative right now I'm not for real player and then the NFL CBA was approved by the owners like we've been talking about the last twenty four hours now the NFLPA they're scheduled to discuss this tomorrow I'm includes the seventeenth game it includes an extra playoff team in each conference I'm a little surprised that we don't have more of the details to this proposal so one detail the Tom palace there yes it out interesting that saying it for players that are under contract through next season so they have sixteen games under contract for sixteen games we'll get paid a Max of two hundred fifty thousand dollars for an extra game changing so it's a lot less than the rest the extra game would go on a fact it could be any time between twenty one and twenty three right or do they just think now if this gets approved it will be in twenty twenty one didn't Allen Robinson responded that twenty three the time Palestine said rip it up was he talking about the C. B. A. R. is he talking about his own contract will think about if you're a sign you're ripping up your county makes fifteen million dollars okay so you're dating game yeah you're making almost a million a year right a million a game right amount million if you played seventeen games you your two hundred fifty grand is a pay cut right of course you're not doing it could be the most important game of course that's why this thing is like I know that the owners and I really careful if in fact it is something that you would get excited about I'd be careful being excited that this thing is going to clear all the hurdles quickly so the phone number to reach is three one two three three two three seven seven six do you like seventeen games do you like extra playoff teams one per conference with the number two seed the division which are not getting a bite and having to play wild card weekend what that means for you is a fan it would mean that you would get six playoff games the first weekend of wild card playoff weekend so you would get three on Saturday three on Sunday get seventeen regular season games spread out over nineteen weeks so instead of seventeen weeks watching the red zone you get nineteen weeks of watching the Reds down you get an extra by so well mine's going to join us at about five fifteen when when you know that and then I want to quiz you on the baseball power are a real quick I gave you a thumbs two thumbs down on that and I think Jim Harbaugh called the so we kind of quick conversation so you're a hundred percent on board with more football more but I am not saying to you that you know what the NFL needs right now what I need right now is the seventeen game I'm not doing that but I'm saying if you give me to less preseason games if you give me two more regular weeks of the NFL with my team only played one more game if you give me an extra playoff teams per conference I'm okay with what is eliminating two preseason games do for you as a fan it nothing well it just it can you get on with the season a little bit quicker but as a season ticket holder you wouldn't have to pay for a meaningless game and you pay for a real game well why don't think they're going to talk you're still paying you're not paying for your only right for one minute right yeah you should not paying a regular price for to a pre season the reason that is critical for season ticket holders is because you can resell a regular season game no matter what its face value is and generally make a profit that's a good point but you cannot sell your preseason games from what you usually can I get face value over making a decision based on take it he's right if you have a one hundred dollar pre season game ticket you can probably sell that for forty dollars always fat right I mean you're gonna get forty Bucks for that right now you might if you sell if you put out right away you isn't as you know as soon as you get your tickets in March you might get forty fifty Bucks for because some people do like to take their kids are those games warm yeah summer stale I'm curious though so we've been talking about the seventeen game schedule and the idea of not what whether or not there's going to be a second bye week added I'm curious are they going to start the season and Labor Day weekend right are they going to still continue to because the reason they pushed back if they didn't like initially having a Labor Day weekend what they found was their TV ratings dipped a little bit because a lot of people have plans on Labor Day weekend so they may not be in their normal routine and so they found out they got bigger ratings if they pushed it back one week also college football has now kind of taken advantage made that their their kids I don't think I think once you get this deal done you're not worried about I mean ratings ratings slowly no lag or get them over the course of the full seventeen so the individual ratings for Labor Day whatever but just from my perspective I'm curious how will they do it because it because now how far are the place let me give you an example here so if you started this regular season at the same time and you did not start on Labor Day the Sunday before Labor Day you're starting at the Sunday after Labor Day you know this year this year we would have done it that way do you know when the last the last regular season game would have taken place which Sunday John on January twelfth okay so then you would have had the first week of the class on the nineteenth the division games on the twenty sixth the conference championship games on February second was in that the Superbowl yeah otherwise yes are you gonna get week off and then you get a week off on the nine and you'd be playing the super ball just a few days ago on the sixteenth with that you know what that means that means Monday is president's day a lot of people have that day off but if you're not if you're not going through four preseason games are two doesn't know what you want to know when the regular season starts you would just start to get the pre season games later for you would you know you would still either you're not starting earlier than Labor Day okay and if you want to keep it the way it is now then you like Miller said you have Superbowl Sunday the day before presidents day can you imagine if the season just ended this past Sunday I you get used to it if this is what you're asking for you take a you take off it's all encompassing if you want the Steelers to play at an eight Nate team on a wild card Sunday your or whatever the day it is this is the downside you want extra teams one more football you know it's not going to be a perfect system for me that the conversation we were having earlier was about the post season I'm not gonna rail against it I know exactly what it's all about it so well all about money so that's over here in basket one basket to for me is are you going to welcome in mediocrity I think the NFL playoffs situation currently with six on each side of the conferences is perfect I love it I'm not gonna rail against it if you add the extra team fine I'll watch it I don't feel like I missed out because there was four games instead of six in fact I thought while Kerr weekend was brilliant I'm more passionate about I don't need seventeen regular season games I don't like the fact that you're already you eat your already taxing guys physically the sport is you guys are bigger faster stronger if you extend the season by game injury becomes even a bigger write component to this I'm just not a fan of it I get why other people would more football more better I I I get me personally what if you have a team running away with that the division and you could rest the last two weeks I mean would they be doing that would you they don't play football for a month yeah I don't know I don't she got that rock hard though now because only one team gets a bite so that actually is to play through to ensure you get that we bet bye right I'm not a fan of more football so asking thumbs up or thumbs down three three two three seven seven six as someone who watches a lot of college football and that that Labor Day weekend is usually the college football weekend I would be fine with them going back to just having all the games on Saturday because when you spread it out then there's a lot of like mediocrity that you watch out during that we can just put all the games on Saturday again let the yeah yeah yeah Labor Day college football really legal yeah but they do the games Friday Saturday Sunday and Monday don't I don't need that I yeah I'm not Saturday football there's like forty games okay three one two I would be mad though if they would not act added extra bye week if they're playing seventeen games with the same schedule I don't I think now you're making it even more unsafe I think at least if you get a second bye week you're only adding one game and you're giving.

"Socialists and the front running candidate is a socialist the ones that got the whole thing scrap it all would go to a system that has failed every time it has ever been put in place in any nation in the world which is tried and generally results of repression into telecare it is a after the fact as the freaky socialist try to hang on to power and take away everyone's rights we transitioned into I believe the not so subtle anymore sides that president trump's popularity is increasing there is a huge segment he'll never get their lactea and and they're just furious over the fact that I think the Rog they know they're wrong and they're in raged the tribe not only beat them but they're in rage the tribes policies have been successful what is happening I would say under the radar because the radar is not trying to pick it up the media's not Friday to see this story it's not that hard to see it when you see and I'll graduate was a below zero anything but it's still the middle of winter in January people standing in line for hours in advance of a political rally thousands being turned away for a non traditional president who has made a connection this side usually do you put on usually strong unless you just I have a double minded you're not curious about anything you want to be curious about what's going on with regard to that I get the lefties who are never going to buy into it I just wonder about these never trappers the Republican crabs who you know people like myself who had to make a decision after trump why did not support for the Republican nomination ice supporting Ted Cruz in the election of Wisconsin related jets the boat is everybody knows that I had skepticism the trump was going to actually be a conservative president I've gone to wet legs the things that brought me around including the basic common sense understanding that our president trump is going to be better for me in this country that Hillary Clinton is going to be for me in this country add to me that real turning point was when trump laid out the names of the judges that he would appoint to the Supreme Court that was too specific for me not to think that it was real secondly he spoke to true core conservatives this question about whether or not trump would govern from a conservative perspective or not the courts are as good a tip off as you're gonna find dad as you know I believe the importance of the federal courts are so unbelievably profound anyway I came around and that is trump campaigned and showed no signs of wildly gone the conservative thing at all and then secondly the passion that he showed in his campaign ad big one of the few Republicans in my lifetime that actually was willing to fight when some people headed for the high heels after the access Hollywood tape came out it from took it on full bar by say okay I'm not proud of it but it's not like I'm Bill Clinton or anything and brought in Clinton's victims to the green room at the debate that happened that a Republican would actually fight back like this I've been trying to get up in Wisconsin to show that kind of fight part of it is it's not in the nature of most people would simply be is confrontational Estrada bids anyway there's several just left behind I'd like prop I don't like prop but I'm not going to support over the election and so on you know locally we had Charlie Sykes but there but others some of the conservative magazines they still wide a bottom magazines that are by and large going under now these are people who actually are conservative but didn't trust from but they didn't like some of the things about trump yet unless they're blind they see the result what are they gonna do argue with what's happened the economy is not strong where where do you think what war what we're not the trade policies are working one of the lines that I use of the shell all the time because it's just true is rationalization is the second strongest human drive people have a very hard time admitting their raw egg I oppose trump I said he be terrible you have to keep arguing that he's terrible even if things aren't terrible and you end up sounding like a lunatic you have a disconnect from reality with regard to people of the left to I think the wind is coming out of their sales as they sit here and they decide between a bunch a technocratic socialist lots that don't expire any passion in anybody at all I mean how do you really get in a ladder over Elizabeth Warner Joe Biden for heaven's sakes they can't produce the kind of emotional connection the trump is producing gravitating toward radical changes at an academy at a time in which the economy is you end up where you're at you also end up with this story going on which is a compelling American story not only a divided country but the half of the country that supports the president developing a strong emotional connection to him at that store just being managed by the media because it kills up to report it or there's so blinded by their animosity that they can't see it people have been sending me videos of the trump rally you Natalie noticed that it's a little yeah and I'm not gonna deny it's mostly white people but it's more diverse than Republican rallies had to be and there is this you see people hugging each other you just see things you don't normally see he's tapped into I think one of the defining moments in America was a few years ago when cap predicted the kneeling for the at the the lefties in the elite is just did not understand why that's so it all they're still try to stick his name into the black history month resolution they want to get to the legislature is if he's had anything to do with black history for heaven's sakes the long standing civil rights crusades the terrible times in American history of Colin capp arctic marching as he get on Selma meeting national guards but to walk amid the universities because of his skin all that's right none of that happened he's the guy who just decided that he was going to kneel during an asset allowed the add you just had this hello is they get people that were bothered by his the leg and you realize how many people out there actually do love their country and are patriotic Americans I just think that without regard whether you're on the left to the right you show some respect for the nation rather than Bakit for whatever reason they have the fact that he did never came out he still to this day has not come up with a good results that they died so I don't that's not about the troops out about the police is not about this is about what is it about I have a he still is never explained that the point that I may he's you realize how many millions of Americans actually are patriotic people who love their country and trump has tapped into that their people argue it's fake the trump doesn't really by any of this the wealthiest fake it he's taken the right right thank you if Capranica speaking yes all think he's faking a stupid bag trump also knows who is supporters are I don't wanna lose one point of this before I will buy like though and I represent earlier with regard to the leader of the walk away movement is a talking about for him trump's reaching out to the black community contradicting the narrative all these are racist and so what was the thing that opened up his eyes trump did not need to reach out to the black community he won without it it's not part of the space while it's true that I think trump is deeply connected to his base it is also true but he has tried things that most politicians including most Republicans have not everyone knows one other point I decide to keep say one other point but there's a lot one of the point of this I think one of the things that the media just misses it's almost every problem supporter I've ever come across knows he I shortcomings denying that everybody has shortcomings I have shortcomings guy like Paul he's got way more short comings and strikes what so while you does this year you shouldn't do that he's he goes there staffers like some people go through socks I mean some people already hero worship and think that everything about trump's perfect but most people though that there's fly said there's issues any kind of denial about that they just see way more positive than negative and they really appreciate the positive yes if our country was in a recession if we were involved in three wars if prompted appointed a couple of duds is Supreme Court justices everything would be different but that's the point none of that happened the results are fairly obvious there right in front of everybody now I do believe when we get to the general election the Democrats are going to drop this socialism crap I believe that thank you to do the same thing that they do in every alike the thing that they used to do for thirty years to say that the Republicans are gonna take away your social security I mean I swear I've been here and that since I was twelve and for the last twenty years they but I'd the Republicans are going to take away your health care and they're going to go to that you're gonna start seeing that it's going to be health care health care health care in the same way that they pulled out Scott Walker in twenty eighteen that'll be the thing that they go to even if it's Bernie Sanders I mean he's got a by the time you get to the general election to be died that he's a socialist I do get all of that still as they fight for their own party's nomination the fact that almost all of them are moving to the radical left and are advocating things that ARE lunatic policies at the same time the crumbs policies are working shows you that the party itself is becoming a French party in terms of who's driving it okay one's got a run on Medicare for all that birdies got a right to be a socialist and all the other to them chase themselves over to the left Joe Biden keeps apologizing for everything you ever stood for his life as he tries to say I can be just as lefty as the rest of them it's revealing that that's how they think they have to behave in order to win the democratic nomination that's not the main street it's just the eggheads that are wrong that live on the two coasts that's all that is and in order to win the presidency I suspect there will be a payment like they always do when they're going to come back and claim that Republicans got to try to take away your health care this that and the other thing it's going to be hard for that to stick to be sold out whatever.

"And on the radio here on my calendar sure it's been too long we shall have you been. are you my friend I'm good I'm good it's great to see your face on Skype in joint is here you hear you on the radio but before we get to your book have you heard any actual nationwide Biden's I was bleeding. I know. well I mean I don't mean to be cruel here but that's kind of a big deal the thought that the front running democratic candidate for president all of a sudden his left eye fills up with blood right in the middle of the debate with thought your honor all the cameras in the life that's a that's a bad moment yeah it's metaphorical I think. pain is bleeding out as well I agree I agree they're they're they're scrambling all right let's talk about open borders and can I I like I said a moment ago I want to spend all of your book is show important I mean to to follow the money trail because there is a money trail and there's there's a talk about dark forces behind our car images are Erin aggression crisis but help out this Michelle nearly five hundred illegal aliens have been released from North Carolina jails despite ice detainer now this this this sanctuary city crap in Mecklenburg County North Carolina Michelle we're not talking about Berkeley. yeah Mike I think it's such an important point because a lot of Americans are very place that they think well I don't live in Berkeley I don't live in one of the far left enclave what's happening is that many ordinary American cities as flyover country and places like North Carolina and it seems shocking on its face I've become as over run as a as at the far left well what's happening is you have to follow the money and it's not just the crazies in the Soros social justice wing that have as their goal the undermining of American sovereignty unfortunately there are a lot of big business interests and establishment interests that are behind it as well and people would be shocked to learn that many were leaked your nonprofit charities many of the operating in North Carolina are aiding and abetting what is essentially a criminal illegal alien smuggling conspiracy and ask the sense of the sanctuary cities how is the state that's and is also law enforcement you know this Mecklenburg County sheriff Gary McFadden was elected in two thousand and eighteen and he opted to end the program that allows I use state and local law enforcement agencies to share information and work together to identify and remove illegals from the country and me and Michelle here's a guy this guy is a sworn law enforcement officer wears the badge who runs the Mecklenburg County sheriff's department and refuses to turn over illegal shoes they're holding to ice. yes either outlaws and people who I call sanctuary anarchists really should be separate criminal prosecution. to be a public uprising against the war on immigration and customs enforcement facials you mentioned the program involving local state and federal partnership and cooperation this call eighty seven feet are they're writing about it in the aftermath of nine eleven acts eight anniversary of which we will be commemorating this week. it's as if there's this collective amnesia not on the part of these Democrats want Medicare for all and drivers like this yeah yes Alex and state tuition for illegal aliens but unfortunately you many police chiefs and sheriffs you are doing a bit of open borders. our guest is Michelle Malkin she's the author of the very important new book open borders ink whose funding America's destruction we have a huge decision to make next year Machel I keep saying on the radio day in and day out there is a solution to this there is a political answer it comes in going to the polls and voting for for Republicans whose policies reflect the common sense of most Americans is there any Democrat on the horizon in this crowded field of democratic candidates for president who who reflect the wisdom that is imparted in your book. there's only one was shown even a glimmer of common sense and logic and sanity and that would be Tulsi Gabbard run but he is still going to end up being held hostage you are the radical amnesty forces every other candidate raise their hands are you decriminalize border. time when MS thirteen gang members and even alien rapists are running rampant in fact worried that he's out of the state you know I I've been on a man's theme today and it fits into your book and it fits into what you were learning us about when it comes to illegals and the failure to connect the dots of illegals this is something that the president said when he was a candidate came down the escalator any they've never forgiven him they've never forgotten when he said Mexico is in sending its best there are rapists coming across the border there are criminals coming across the border it was like from that moment on he was branded this hate mongering big get is evil guy and yet we see these stories of illegals committing crimes here in the streets of the United States in North Carolina in Florida you know all over the country but there's a but there's a strategy behind it right Michelle there's a concerted. full strategy to sh mayor and vilify before you can get even get out of the gate and so even common sense responses to something like not cooperating with ice is met with the smear of bigotry and and and and racism and hate form as the in other words the other side they know precisely what they're doing don't pay they do you hit the nail on the head Mike and I have been a whole entire chapter on the Southern Poverty Law Center. I've been up against it I'm sure you have that as well for more than a decade are anytime that you hear wife principles of sovereignty in the rule of law you're deemed a hate monger I mean the rest is so long who is at eight speaker I mean it would be if we're with if they had one of who would not it's ridiculous they've gone after people of color like myself is branded us white supremacist. after all of the money finding that machine as well even at a time when the SPLC has been something in pearl complaints about discrimination and harassment there's still quoted as if they are credible source by the like CNN MSNBC in The New York Times your first book invasion how America still welcomes terrorists criminals and other foreign menaces was a number one New York times bestseller from that book then then seven later to this one what's your big take away Michelle in terms of what you've gleaned during your years of studying this and writing about it what do you know the words what what are some conclusions in open borders ink that you didn't reach an invasion. well I think it's more fortification and in invasion which was written after the nine eleven terror right I was built by my action one of the things that was important now with that look AT a logical alliances on both sides you are it's G. there for our immigration enforcement and that's only been made clearer and the subsequent books that I've written I wrote another book called sold out. loved it loved it all right Michelle I know you're up against the clock I think we what we would lose just like no we got but yeah we kind of froze up there Michelle Malkin the great Michelle Malkin joining us thank you Michelle for spending some time with us I hope everybody gets your book open borders ink whose funding America's destruction yeah and it's you know Hey push back at me tell me about the sheriff in North Carolina because there's a lot of controversy about him right now in effect now he's pushing back he's attacking a Mike pence he's a he's going after president trump the the sheriff is striking back at his critics of his policy of not honoring federal request to detain illegals who are charged with crimes and are in his jails Dan bishop who's on the ballot today in the special election he's called on the sheriff to resign over these reckless policies. the sheriff's argument I don't want you to hear this. he argues. the reason. the police should cooperate with ice. this is very very important ring from the Charlotte observer trying to understand this guy's logic he says it's propaganda to to say that I'm I'm I'm lit letting these illegals out but the reason he does it is because. the detainer sh in other words the the flat the red flags that go up pretty legal who's behind bars breves dish crush among Mecklenburg county's immigrant community. this is the chief law enforcement officer the sheriff of Mecklenburg County who says well you know if we if we notify ice that we got somebody behind bars who we know to be illegal if that policy is enforced it breeds distrust I read around quarter of the Charlotte observer it breeds distrust among our immigrant communities. he's right or do you think that the bishop is right when he says the sheriff ought to step down over the recklessness of.

Tesla to raise prices in China on August 30 as trade war escalates

"I'm macrey and i am joined by motley fool analysts. Emily flip and ron gross welcome. How are we feeling. Hey mac days of summer here dog days. I've i've had a nice little break so i'm tan seen you in months as look. I know it's true. It's been a very generous break. Thank you thank you thank you why feel well rested and we got lots to talk about. We've got some new health concerns with vaping and and i have a lot of questions about this vaping. I'm just i'm not sure it's a good idea. We're gonna talk about that. No no no i think it's the devil's playground okay and also we're gonna talk about target getting some disney magic target and disney teaming up here so we'll get to all of that but let's begin with tesla now according to reports tesla. We'll raise prices in china on friday. That's earlier than planned and tesla. According to the same report also considering raising prices again in december should the chinese tariffs kick in so emily. You're one of our resident experts on china and now we're seeing some of the ripple effects potentially really of all this trade war stuff tesla. We should add currently imports all of its cars. It sells in china. That's an important note right there. The fact that tesla as it stands right now how is selling every car in china that they produce here in the united states so the twenty five percent tariff on automobiles that china is putting into place or considering putting into place at the u._s. Would hit tesla very hard. That's an addition to a five percent tariff on auto parts as well so it's kind of a minefield for tesla tesla right now. They're trying to meet what they see. As expanding demand in china will still navigating the tariffs <hes> for the business as a whole. The most important thing is the fact that you know they've been working on the shanghai gigafactory so factory there in shanghai china that would produce cars that they could then sell in china for a while now but they've kind of been going to their own minefield and getting up and running so the fact is is that simply they're not going to have it up and running this year and they're probably going to start trying to front run deliveries to china china and advance at the december terrified ex yeah. I couldn't tell if this was a tesla story or a trade war story or a little bit of both but i think it's a it's an actual real world example full of how trade wars and tariffs can actually impact companies in this case u._s. Companies <hes> everyone should sit up straight and listen and see how how this can impact. It's it's not like tesla was kick knocking the cover off the ball so this this is another little thing that they're gonna little another thing that they're going to have to deal with and it is the consequence of trade awards. <hes> president trump said they're easy to win and maybe one day we'll say they are but as of now it doesn't appear to be the case and when we look at tesla's business us as a whole emily how important is china if i'm investing tesla or if i'm a considering investing tesla how much should this concern last time i looked china actually accounted for about one fifth of tesla sales so this is actually pretty concerning. It's a little surprising stock hasn't moved much day actually on on this news but that might be in large part because tariffs as we've found and trade wars in general tend to change rapidly so we don't actually know what the situation will be like in december. I think we all see how quickly <hes> you know. Administrations and politicians tend to go back and forth on things like trade wars but what's what's important is the fact that companies have to prepare in the environment in which they know right now so you know tesla which has had a problem for a while and and getting deliveries out of their factory non-tobacco on demand problem as they say but it's a livery problem whether or not they can really actually deliver these cars in advance of a tariff hike that basie coming in december is the big unknown here. I think we should add as least walking into the studio. I noticed the tesla has confirmed that this is actually the case as of now just a report a little bit more than a rumor rumer think but just a a report <hes> we'll we'll see tesla comes out with a comment later. It's august ron. I mean we need something okay. Let's move onto vaping illinois officials confirming that one person has died after being hospitalized with severe lung illness after using e cigarettes now this is the first death breath reported from a vaping related long illness. Emily there is so much that we don't know about vaping in about the long-term effects. 'cause i wanna be careful careful here but we do know that it's been marketed as a safer alternative to traditional cigarettes. So what do you make of of the vaping news and as our cannabis expert what do you make of the potential link or the implications for the cannabis industry. I'll take cannabis expert. Ah my title now i'm actually it's important to note the difference between smoking and vaping a lot of people may not be familiar so smoking obviously burning whether that be like tobacco for the nicotine tina facts and that's been for a long time now proven to cause lung cancer so vaping came up as a healthy alternative to smoking. He's as water taper to get you your addictive chemicals whether that'd be cannabis or nicotine <hes> and so it was perceived to be healthier alternative because that water vapor itself was was not linked to the tar in cigarettes that caused cancer so these new reports coming out that maybe vaping isn't as healthy as it initially seemed is not good for the the industry in large part. It's just that we don't have a lot of history to work on here with vaping. We don't have people that have been vaping for twenty or thirty years to prove proved side effects so it's almost like we have a generation of of many guinea pigs. Have you been the first generation to consume vapes in any large quantities. I expect expect that we'll see more reports like this. It is worth noting that the report is not nearly as bad as immediately causes lung cancer but is to say that there are likely health effects the facts to to vaping and using vapes as opposed to smoking cigarettes yeah at the risk of stating the obvious. I think we have to make sure we keep us out of the hands of of kids because kids kind of did learn the lesson about cigarettes. I feel and now boom just when we thought we were out of the water with that generation smoking cigarettes. They're there vaping more than ever <hes> so if it's the fruit flavors or the bubble gum flavors or it's the marketing to children i think the i._b._m. Phone firmly early in favor of stricter regulation when it comes to children i mean even nicorette i believe for example is a prescription is necessary so why can't vaping <hes> <hes> <hes> nicotine also be prescription. Perhaps i don't know if the industry will ever go that for but let's just try our best to keep it out of the hands of kids and it's so interesting. Can you say that because the f._d._a. has actually been targeting regulations focus that keeping it out of the hands of kids so the largest producer in the united states jewel has flavored pods is that the f._d._a. has recently sat are too attractive to children's so they've limited <hes> a lot of places that jewel can sell their flavored <unk> pot products and i believe san francisco's outlawed the sale of a vape vaping products completely <hes> you can actually use them. I believe in san francisco but you can't purchase them <hes> so maybe we'll see more of that and before we get to our next story. I want to say thanks to net suite now. If you don't know your numbers you don't know your business but the problem that growing businesses have the thing that keeps them from knowing their numbers is this hodgepodge of business systems. You've gotta system for counting. You've got another one for sales another for inventory emily and ron what a mess complete mess systems everywhere and it's so inefficient taking up too much time and sucking up way too many resources and that is where

Citigroup Hit Hardest as EU Fines Banks $1.2 Billion Over FX

"Citi group was hit the hardest of the five banks that agreed to pay European Union. Fines totaling one point two billion dollars for colluding on foreign exchange trading. Tragedies traders ran to cartels on online chat rooms that were called the Essex express in the Jimmy the three way banana split and semi grumpy old men. Joining me a securities attorney David Bessinger a partner at pissing off Schmidt and Williams. Dave explain how the traders worked in manipulated, the benchmark foreign exchange rates in these rather colorful chat rooms. While there's three basic strategies I think L I is good old front running securities markets as well. And that's when I traders aware of the going price and has his own or her own proprietary position. And at the same time also obligated to sell for a customer and tells the proprietary, I the customers disadvantage say, for example, if I'm trying to sell an eighty thousand dollars tesla. And I can sell it at eighty five thousand I sell mine I before I sell my customers by selling mine. It's gonna have it negative downward effect on the pricing. The second strategy is called banging the clothes and in the foreign-exchange market, the measured volume or the dollar amount. But by the volume of trades. And so this strategy would be breaking up. Maybe one trade into fifty and by doing it. There were a lot more traces certain price, which manipulated the market. And then finally, there was a strategy called painting, the screen and painting, the screen fake orders in the market to perpetuate an illusory price and then broker can sell his or her own proprietary positions. There's other strategies but those three are predominant in the regulatory actions. So now the EU Commissioner McGrath said these fines will send a message, while they're certainly large they're lower than the one point three billion euro penalty for banks for rigging Europe or rates and below the record three point eight billion euro penalty for collusion. So how much of a message is it really sending? Well, that's a big economic question. It's hard to measure. Evaluated is, you know, this is just the latest that you mentioned you have the euro or scandal before you had the library scandal before that you've had the same banks involved in the credit crisis. You had them in the tech wreck and all sorts of other things. Certain point one must ask what the regulators having scandal after scandal. So perhaps your question is raising legitimate concern that these are not severe enough. One of the banks are said that quote this kind of behavior has no place at the Bank. We are today. Our culture and controls have changed fundamentally during the past ten years. Is that true or is there room for something like this to happen? Even today at these banks, did you have to I suppose take that spokesperson at his or her word? But, you know, the real issues when you look at the massive size of these banks, for example, this scandal in the forex market, the banks comprising the global group that were sued both by regulators in the. US. EU. Elsewhere marketed about five point three trillion dollar trades per day that was just in the four x then you have all of the other activities. They have in a number of areas from securities, underwriting, too bonds on issuance to, you know, all the instruments during the credit crisis. So you look at the large reach these banks, perhaps, we have another four x scandal. But it does seem to make you wonder if we'll have the scandal somewhere else. Dave, I was trying to go through the investigations that are pending. There's another investigation, Bob in Credit Suisse in this area, another looking at the trading of euro-zone sovereign bonds, another potential coordination options trading in the FX market. There are so many investigations. What does that say about the way the banks are operating in the traders are operating? Well again, it's such an incredibly huge market. And so when you look at just the release it, we're talking about, you know, the ease variety of text messages. And like you say, in the introduction, you've got the Essex express and so forth. But then you go back, Bloomberg ran the first story I think, apparently in June twenty thirteen and there was a whole host of other foreign exchange channels. As part of that came out through class actions, the United States, actions and so forth. So it's hard to imagine regulators getting their hands around everything. Because again, it's just such a huge market when three British traitors in a group known as the cartel were tried there were actually acquitted by federal court last year of using a chat room to coordinate trades and manipulate prices, what did they show that led the jury to acquit them I can't speak to that instance? But I think one of the problems that you see in a lot of the allegations is that the regulators will try to insinuate wrongdoing because of. Nicknames. For example, that British pound to the US dollar trade is called the cable the New Zealand dollar to the US dollar is called the Kiwi. They have enormous numbers of nicknames. A lot of them are kind of cockney flying to make the traders look bad. And the traders are legitimately allowed trading to communicate and they're gonna communicate often like everybody else does these days by text. And so a lot of the texts are a lot of them involve trading and taking and to convict criminal court, you've gotta show guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. You typically would have to show intent and a jury is gonna wrestle with those

Okay. And then start raining again in the morning to be honest. They just have such good filtering the track area system. Just they're able to make the track seal the track. Well, so unless it's like a torrential downpour during the race or before the race. I really don't see it being that stop the of track as seen in recent years. I mean, obviously, if that's the case, then the whole different angle, you kind of have to take and obviously horses that have experienced over the track is a good angle to take but with horses. I mean, I don't think there's a horse with more than one. Maybe there's one with to experience over the off track. So it's tough enough. That sense. I mean, I'm not really gonna base my handicapping on that I mean, obviously drawing far outside in a sloppy track. Closers lot harder to do. So so that might come into effect. But to be honest, I really don't think the rain's gonna affect the dirty as it has in the recent years with with Omaha beach being scratched is there one or two horses in particular that kind of benefit the most where they had maybe a similar style or they were kind of considered the second or third favorite's going in and this this makes it a much better opportunity for them. Yeah. I think maximum security benefits a lot from that. Because he's going to be. I think he's going to be on the lead. I think he's gonna be on the lead early. I think he is shown some really freakishly fast times, which he may be able to hold on the whole distance of the race. Who knows it's grilling distance. And he's really only had four career races. I think he's going to be on the front end. So I think any of the front running horses really benefit from that anyone that drew outside that has a little bit of speed. Who would that be? That would be you not that many actually to be on all the really quick courses the horses. I want the front end drew inside the benefits roadster a lot. Just because I do think it is very wide open. I think he can make a legitimate case for I'd say about eight horses. So I think a lot of them benefit the Stilo benefit the other benefit the most would be any of the running horses 'cause that's one less horse to worry about on the lead. Can I make sense the the front runners will benefit because you know, the stud is is out of the picture. But also, maybe the longshots a little more viable because the front runners out as well. Yeah. You mentioned a roadster. I saw my book he had a prop horse to be leading at the corner poll roadster is one of the favorites their plus four hundred do you have any do you have any.

"So I thought if I had any car to kind of go a little overboard 'cause they're still subtle. It would be the triple nickel silver car, man. So I think what they ended up coming up with. And if you see in the video, I mean, I they don't teach me how to wrestle or play football. And I don't think to them how to pick out the proper wheels for my car. I could just give them a direction. So I think what they came up with is great. They're they're beautiful. I got in a while a lot of meat a lot of it was on on those things and it looks like the car's been lower than the front. I can use a tiny. Bit of of rubber in the back high was, but you know, it is what it is. They're great tires, man. When I switched him on and drove that thing home for major e trying to get here as quickly as possible. And by the way, I basically met Chris Jacobs on the road on my exit the full into the house man nothing drope. So nice. It's amazing the difference. But yeah, those guys do such a great job. And so it's a wheels that G code wheel. And it's a collaboration between them and the ring brothers, and you know. As well. As I do how, you know the quality of the ring brothers quality engineer and the creativeness they're like artists. And so when those to collaborate, you know, it's going to come out to be one hell of a product and they've been doing that we'll partnership for a little while now for for a few years now. And I love the designs that they sort of all came up with together. H hurry and ring brothers G code was beautiful Camaro that they did. I'm gonna say it was like a light bluish kind of blue gray kinda Camaro. I can't say for sure. But that that's sounds about right. And such a sharp looking we alone it. It's more of a traditional five spoke sort of like a dual five spoke peace, and it looks like in the photos that you went with like you were saying like a brushed center sectioned, but the outer rim the barrel of it has like a tent in it. So it darkens up a little bit to gloss. But it has you know, it makes the center section pop more. It kinda hides the barrel of. It looks like the center section just kind of bleeds into the tire itself. Yeah. I mean, I like I said I I wanted it to be simple yet. You know, good looking at the same time, and it's fine balance that you know, you try to teeter on. But I think they did. Well, man, I I really like it. Now, you're running rutta three fifteen tire in the front running. Do you? The back as well as it squared up. Or you got more in the back. It's split up. I I mean any twenty you know, right now NATO's not not offering the size tire that I want in the specific tire. But hopefully in the future, I can get the little bit more. I mean, I I went a different direction on the demon. There's there's a Hoosier on the rear three twenty five an eighteen inch wheel. So, you know, the the options are much better to get that big of a I mean, there's not many people drag race of what somebody is. Yeah. Yeah. It doesn't make a lot of sense. So it's it's hard to really find that balance and get the right look. But I think I've think I've got it in both of them for what I'm asking vehicles to do now which tire using are using their triple five or their MTO five to do recall, man, I'm every one of their tires on every one of these vehicles. And so the one I'm using let me let me look real quick. It's an MTO five on the front and an N T O five are on the back or that might be reversed. It sounds like. Yeah. I. My have the are in the back for a little bit softer compound for a little bit better. Sort of off the line traction interesting treads a little bit different ano-. It's a little little less tread tobacco and more meat..

After the Thai cave rescue

"Now last July. We were all captivated by the successful rescue of those young Thai soccer players trapped in a flooded cave since then the boys and their families have been adjusting to fame movie offers interviews international appearances there have been some amazing opportunities. But also as you might expect some unforeseen stresses the cave system itself was also shaken up by the frantic use of bulldozers and industrial water pumps. The effort is now on to restore it to its former state ABC southeast Asia correspondent Liam Cochran wrote a book about the cave rescue. And he's still following the story from Bangkok when the twelve members of the wild boars football team, and they coach ended Tom long cave on the twenty third of June. They expected to emerge for birthday party. And for the youngest one a tutoring session, just another Saturday in this small town of Macy's why? But eighteen days later when the last of them was rescued they were global Salah. Liberties hounded by the media fretted over by friends, family and strangers alike. They lives have been turned upside down by the experience some of it positive some of it not so much. The boys are much sought after for appearances around the world. They were flown to Argentina to take part in a friendly football match at the youth Olympics that went to the US to appear on the Ellen Degeneres show and visited soccer's hallowed turf Old Trafford to see Manchester. United played they've conducted themselves in a way that's made the nation. Proud retelling this story smiling and posing for photos again, and again, and again, they may never have had this international exposure if it hadn't been for them as adventure. And they've lapped up the experiences making new friends seeing new places and gaining huge followings on social media in particular, Instagram, the pack the boys made to support each other inside the cave has carried over to. The outside world, but things will be changing soon. Some of them will graduate from junior high school and hit off to different campuses in the coming months away from my side life goes on friends drift apart as for any teenagers around the world for the families. It's been a complicated ride being a parent of a wild boar has become pretty much before time job for some of them with travel meetings and difficult decisions to consider about movie deals and appearances the Thai government has offered assistance. But also applied pressure setting up a committee to handle media requests that is still yet to seal any deals for a major Hollywood movie all the big studios want to tell the cave rescue story. And it looks like a deal may be getting close with Universal Studios said to be a front run out a tie production has already finished shooting and his set to release its movie mid year with one of the divers and some of the tire risk. Work is playing themselves amid huge sits built in swimming pools and scenes shot inside real caves in northern Thailand, including Tom long itself, the cave and the environment around. It was hit hard by the rescue efforts. Water was pumped out from the adjacent Cy Tom cave and into quickly built reservoirs rice farms were flooded creeks on the mountain tops above the cave were dammed and diverted by shovels and backhoes after the triumphant rescue the Thai government sealed off the cave and the site on park to getting to work rehabilitating the area directly in front of Tom Luang. A statue has been arrested of Samoan good non the tie. Former navy seal who died while diving in the cave during a resupply mission. The bronze statue is impressive more than three meters tall with soman in his diving gear, a superhero six pack at his feet Adrover. Pigs representing the members of the wall boys football team. There's a museum. The works to in front of the cave to memorialize the rescue for generations to come this time last year. Tom Lang was pretty much unknown except perhaps to dedicated cave explorers, local teenagers or tourists who happened to be in the area. But now it's a magnet for visitors over the new year holiday time Luang was the number one tourist destination in all of Thailand with tens of thousands of people making the pilgrimage, even though the cave entrance is still off limits behind high fences and security cameras one reason for the fences apart from of course, wanting to avoid more lost souls in the cave is that loads of diving equipment was left behind when a water pump. Burst minutes after the final rescue and Tom long flooded fast. With the rescue is just getting out in time Thai soldiers and expert divers are working to salvage some of the equipment. And it's still not clear when the cave will reopen to the public when it does all be queuing up to get in for a look. Despite writing seventy five thousand words about the risk you at Tom long. I've never been inside. Liam cock. Learn there in Bangkok.

"Lots of different ways to express opinions. Whereas in crypto, you really just trade cash, and so is about bringing both the technology know, we do everything data center, but also products from traditional markets, we do warrants so you can trade both along in short side. And then maybe like even the third thing. I would say is kind of ethos like exchanges are run in a professional in transparent way in alignment with local regulations. Generally if trading on an exchange in traditional market, you're not worried about the exchange secretly trading against you which we've seen amounts of crypto. Are we don't you don't worry about like the exchange? Front running your orders. And so that's that's kind of a lot of the meeting the last things like wash trading, right like washed hurting, you know, like fraud and crime in traditional markets, but like rampant in crypto. And so it's the ethos of like bringing what what we get in traditional markets. Crypto is also one of the things that LSD axes is trying to do. And just anyone who's not sure wash China's when you try to yourself. Yeah. Watching when you trade against yourself and an in crypto, it's typically facilitated by exchange. So the exchange has fake accounts that they use to trade with each other to make it seem like the exchange is more active. They're generally not doing it to to manipulate prices, which is liable Australia, usually in traditional markets like in traditional market, if you have some illiquid small-cap stock that doesn't really trade, you know, it's it's fraud. If the thing is worth five cents, and you and your buddy decided traded for ten dollars. While no one is looking but on the market, but in in crypto, it's really about just inflating blind's not not a ton of relational. There's a little bit of. That's crazy. So you sign that most of the wash in in crypt on crypto exchange is done by the actual exchanges themselves done by the actual changes themselves. The only guys that will tell you a different story or the decentralized exchanges because they have actually incentive really to to manipulate volumes small incentive, but not not much. But what they have the problem with is that like team members of like released small coins that people have never heard of have incentive to like drive up the price of their coins. So that like their market got goes up massively. And so they'll go to decentralize exchange in the thing might be worth, you know, like five ten thousand of sent like bid up the price and then of each other for a penny over over and over again, even pay the fees, but it's worth it to them to manipulate the price that that much. It's like shocking if you come from traditional markets to see like all this stuff that like you're like, but they would take you away in handcuffs for that in real markets. And this is something a bit curious about she's and it's something of of wanted like when you stop and you exchange..

China's exports to US tick up as traders try to beat tariffs

"China's exports topped estimates in both UN and dollar terms. As companies rushed to make shipments before higher tariffs, actually, kicked in are trying to correspondent Tom MacKenzie has all the numbers in Beijing. Tom. Front running is the phrase usual with these numbers. So we saw exports coming in as you say above the forecasts. We're gonna number fifteen point six percent increase in exports. Sorry about compare that to the forecast of eleven point seven percent. A big reason, of course, is because the customers in the US stocking up putting in those orders before these times rise from the ten percent. We got now on the two hundred billion to twenty five percent. That is expected from January the first you you want as well as also played something of a supportive effect, coding, be speaking to these down, of course, seven percent year to date, and then you've got some policy measures being put in place in terms of tax rebates from officials to try and support the export states in terms of the imports. That was also a beat as well around. Twenty one percent increase in imports for the month of October again compare that to set timber. The number came in at fourteen and a half percent fourteen point three percent with the September number. There have been other measures that have been outlined here to try and support infrastructure spending that may approve. Supportive for some of the imports in terms of oil, by the way, there was some record numbers of imports of crude into China, which is the largest crude by of course, around ten million barrels per day, which is a record the refiners here stocking up as they tried to produce diesel again that seems to be linked to the stimulus effects that are being unfolded. Now here in China, tens of the trade surplus. We saw a number of about thirty four billion US dollars. So in terms of what the Trump administration wants to achieve and of rebalance in the trade picture, we are a long way from that were record levels now almost record levels in terms of China's trade surplus with the

Triple 8 dominate the Sandown 500.

"Motor sport. Look back at the same now, five hundred. Stay with us. Rice engineering, dominating the same down five hundred taking all three spots on the podium. The to red bull, Holden racing team ties one and two and lands order banned the position at the end of a hundred and sixty one laps, Jamie wing Cup, pulled on bro. All but two laps of the journey wing Cup, talked about how I'm have mental. The rice was full. The front running. You just preparation. We fed really well brought through really quick housi- this weekend and. Really proud of engineering grids, Kim, moving forward, we'll fostering fraud. I just can't moving forward Kim evolving the car and Sunday tonight for the rice. The cows at this. Rice's is pretty straightforward. Pay did a great job like you did and we, we lead from the front thankfully that the gossip stays didn't throw entertainment safety cow with a with a choke on the outside. So that was nice. We just had a clean run, which is important. But all in all. Yeah, yeah. The funny thing for the rice all hit a massive rub and ran over and looked him a just smashed out lousy head lot. So that was fast and furious. So the stuff. But apart from that, it was Oprah, shy, Fode we, we do a lot of prep and we, we try very hard. We represent a lot of people and a lot of brands and absolutely expects us six guys up here to go to represent the brand and showing how good the cows out the end of the die. So thankfully it doesn't always go you alive at today at everything rent smoothie, there were no no curve balls with ties or blown gearboxes or seatbelts coming down. Actually, to be honest, the on the drama was the safety cat. I just made a mockery of that could've could've cost us too late. So thankfully will far enough up the road that that didn't work at rice, pulled Umbro gave his thoughts on the result. I think as sedalia. What happened in the past. It's happened in the past. You know, you can't. You can't Dame yourself. You can't do that. That's happened. So all we could do come here is coming here this weekend, not put a foot wrong. I'd probably Danny lo lot familiar was Jimmy take them all that record away from me. So Dan after the weekend calling with one loss gnawed. Big match. Next weekend's richer targets. No, Beth Nissen. What's all that now? Obviously, the cows really, really quick went. They lost and didn't really form as we expected. So there's a lot of work focus going and a couple of weeks, Tom, Shane, being Bergen, and or Bamber finished in second place, van Ginsburg and he gained more points bleed over his closest rival, Scott McLaughlin in the DJ our Team Penske falcon who finished in fourth position because pretty amazing and then get into rice the Penske's and stuff. The these top attracts the low downforce of really being a struggle in previous years. You know, you took wing off the af and just wanted to do done, not everywhere. So it's one of the first things I learned in rising. Felons is more important than grip and he didn't make the downforce number out wrought, but the balance is so much better. And when we come to hear tizzy, hopefully Bathurst, maybe we can actually take it off max weighing and. The balance of the car. This weekend was awesome, and we had straight lawn. So last couple of years we couldn't have both. So it's been been really good step forward with the Zabi Bamber who's won some amazing races, including the l'amour twenty four hour rice twice. He spoke about what it was like to be on the podium in Sandown. Firstly. Absolutely amazing to be able to come join AAA and red bull. The first time in Giro's is pretty special. Thank you. Trust him. Main rookie to come here. There's been amazing. And I mean the Qasr being all Simpson's or wrote off the truck. Cobb, one was a rocket to think about it overnight as well. And we managed to tune into out Karen to a rocket as well for Sunday, and starting in the middle of the pack was pretty interesting. Tenth eleventh, but the cow was mega managed to get it up into the top five or six by the time we pitted and over to shine. So it's been a pleasure. It's been awesome. Shines being a great mentor as well. Teaching me about supercars and everything to do. I think without his advice in those two, since it. It would have been more difficult. So now really finding my fate in the category there and count life, and Beth is now super pump for this advantage attracted, I know, and now come together the team and sort of rolled on from here. But like you've said, we need to keep working hard. I see the amount of hot work and of managed to drive in some
