The Breakdown
A highlight from The Five Most Important Stories in Crypto This Week
"Welcome back to The Breakdown with me, NLW. It's a daily podcast on macro, Bitcoin, and the big picture power shifts remaking our world. What's going on, guys? It is Saturday, September 16th, and that means it's time for the weekly recap. Before we get into that, however, if you are enjoying The Breakdown, please go subscribe to it, give it a rating, give it a review, or if you want to dive deeper into the conversation, come join us on the Breakers Discord. You can find a link in the show notes or go to bit .ly slash breakdown pod. Hello, friends. Well, as you know, I have been doing something a little bit different for the weekly recap recently. I've been collaborating with Scott Melker, the wolf of all streets on Friday morning with a live show that we've been doing. That's basically a chance to count down what we think are the most important stories and have some more editorial analysis around them. Obviously, you guys know that when it comes to the normal breakdown show, the way that I insert editorial isn't me giving my opinion on every story that comes through. Instead, it's about how I curate the breadth of different opinions, and that's what really matters to me. I want you guys to have lots of different opinions so you can make up your own minds about everything that's going through this industry. However, people have responded to having a chance to have a little bit more of subjective that opinionated take. And so today, while Scott is in Singapore for token 2049, I decided that I would do my own countdown. This is pretty off the cuff. I'm just letting it rip. But these are what I think are the five most important stories in reverse order. Of course, we're going to do a countdown. Let's make it a countdown. At number five, we have the Gensler hearing and his subsequent comments. So what happened? Well, there was a standard oversight hearing for the SEC this week in the Senate Banking Committee. And of course, everyone in the crypto space was waiting with bated breath to see what soundbites would be trotted out against us this time. Certainly, they were there. Sherrod Brown, who's the chair of that committee, certainly used it as a chance to reinforce his view that a crypto is bad and that be the SEC's enforcement record is good. And Gary's prepared testimony also had some knocks on the crypto space as well. When it came to the hearing itself, the biggest soundbite from Gensler was when he responded to Sherrod Brown, saying right now, unfortunately, there's significant noncompliance and it's a field which is rife with fraud, abuse and misconduct. That was the headliner quotable that people ran with. And yet what was notable about crypto in this hearing was how little crypto there was in this hearing. Indeed, it was almost totally supplanted from the GOP as a topic of interest instead to be something like Exhibit A in a broader case that it seems like Republicans are going to be making for the American public heading into election season, which is about the overreach of Biden appointees and government agencies in general. There was a lot of antipathy towards Gary Gensler for his refusal to comply with Republican requests for oversight. Ranking member Tim Scott, for example, called this dereliction of Gensler's duties to the American people. And in general, it seemed like Republican members were gearing up for much bigger fights. Things like the major questions doctrine, which is a new vector for having the conversation about how much authority agencies and unelected officials can claim. Those seem like the battlegrounds that are shaping up in this pre -election season. So the reason that this hits number five at the list is not that there was something really substantive that was said. It's the fact that there wasn't. And indeed, that crypto has become part of a very different narrative, which is something that given that we are just at the beginning of presidential election season, I think we're going to see a lot more of. Now, as to the question of whether crypto not being a hot button congressional issue throughout the rest of the election cycle is a good or bad thing, I think that's a little bit in the eye of the beholder. Certainly, we had a pretty good chance to get some bad legislation on the books during the time when antagonism towards the industry was highest. But at the same time, you have a whole lot of people and a whole lot of companies and a whole lot of institutions that simply aren't going to touch the space with a 10 foot pole until we get some at least basic clarity. I think that if you are in that camp that wants that basic clarity, the best that you can hope for is some very targeted legislation such as common sense stablecoin rules or something like that. Number four on our list today, we have of course, Binance executives leaving. This was the only one that I knew had to be at this certain level. Because of course, four is CZ's favorite thing to say when anyone has anything to say about Binance this year. TLDR three executives left this week from Binance US making the total 13 across the entire conglomerate since June. News broke on Tuesday that Binance US CEO Brian Schroeder was gone. And then on Thursday, the head of legal and the chief risk officer followed suit. Now added to that we have allegations from the SEC that Binance US were not cooperating with document discovery and that their wallet provider is a Binance subsidiary offshore. In other words, effectively a direct allegation from the SEC that Binance lied earlier on in the lawsuit when they said that they would not send client funds to Binance International. Now CZ did come out and address the rumors around Brian Schroeder. He said in the tweet, there's been some speculation regarding recent management changes at Binance US. Brian Schroeder is taking a deserved break after accomplishing what he set out to do when he joined two years ago. Under his leadership, Binance US raised capital, improved its products and service offerings, solidified internal processes and gained significant market share, all of which helped to build a more resilient company for the benefit of our customers. We are grateful for his contributions. Of course, the crypto world falls into basically exactly two camps. The one who followed up that post saying thanks so much for the explanation. Of course, that's it. And the rest of us who are looking at it sort of shaking our head saying, of course, that's the only thing that you can say. So what's actually going on? Well, it seemed for a very long time like Binance had basically no future in the US. It is under absolute assault from basically every regulatory angle. And regardless of what turns up, there's already been a huge impact on market share. It doesn't have access to banks. And at this moment, we're seeing trading volume in the single digit millions for 24 hours, which effectively means it's not doing anything. We've had eight months of online science from that CEO Brian Schroeder. And so it's hard to imagine that there's any real future there. Now at the same time, it's important to remember that Binance doesn't necessarily need the US. It is still by far the biggest exchange in the world, although its market share has decreased as well. And it would be a pretty rational move at this point just to move on to greener pastures. Now that said, it does not at all feel like the regulatory story and the investigative story around Binance is done. And while I'm certainly not rooting for them to have done bad things, because God knows this industry doesn't need another SAM. I also would like whatever's going to happen to happen so we can get on through it. Speaking of SAM at number three, we have FTX selling approved. This has been a big emergent narrative, really more of a fear than a narrative. And the TLDR is that Galaxy Digital has been approved to start selling FTX's liquid crypto assets. FTX has about 3 .4 billion worth of liquid crypto to sell. And Galaxy has been authorized to sell 50 million of that this week and next week, and then 100 million per week after that. There had been some discussion before this approval around whether people could just get their crypto back instead of it being converted to US dollars. But basically, the bankruptcy estate said that that was just impossible based on how messed up things were internally at FTX. Now, why this matters is less the bankruptcy process and more about the market internalizing this deep fear that we have this big multi -billion dollar sell pressure coming right down the pipeline. Lots of people have pointed out that it's not in anyone's interest, Galaxy Digital FTX or any of us, for this group to just mass dump this and create negative price impact. But that hasn't stopped people from being scared. It feels to me like one of the next things we just have to get through and frankly might correspond with another round of negative press around SAM's trial coming up next month. But if we're asking for opinions, get through it, we will. I think the pressure will be less bad than people think it will. And I think there will be a little bit of a rebound narrative when people realize that it is less bad than they anticipated. At number two, we have the SEC but in a different context. The SEC settled their second case against an NFT project this week, that project being Stoner Cats. Now, I did a whole show about this. But basically, the important things about this are one, the SEC saying its jurisdiction extends to NFTs, two, the reasoning for the SEC's jurisdiction extending to NFTs making it seem like their jurisdiction extends to your Magic cards and your anything else as well. Three, for the fact that we are again seeing their strategy of going after smaller projects who have very little incentive to actually defend themselves and much more incentive to just settle and move on with their lives. And four, for the increasingly direct dissents from Hester Purse and Mark Ueda. Now, there are a lot of pieces of that. I don't really want to go into the whole NFT and collectibles argument again. I did that on the show a couple days ago. I will only say here that I do think that overreach in this area potentially undermines SEC authority in the long run, because I don't think it's going to hold up necessarily. I think the bigger thing to watch is once again, the culmination, the crescendo, if you will, and the coming endgame between this SEC and the industry. Now, of course, should the SEC be emboldened by another Democratic administration, things could just continue or even amplify. But it does kind of feel like we are at the period where most of the big shots have been fired, cases against Coinbase, cases against Binance, etc. And now they're back to trying to pick off easy targets that have implications that would lead to the accumulation of their own power. Perhaps once again, this is the reason that the GOP opponents of the SEC have decided to make the issue not crypto per se, but regulatory overreach in general and Gensler's desire specifically to expand his personal authority and the authority of his office in ways that undermine the authority of Congress. In other words, the reason that the Stoner Cats decision gets so high on this list is not so much the Stoner Cats decision. In fact, it's not hard to find people even in the crypto community who don't really want to go out on a limb to defend Stoner Cats. Instead, it's about what it represents in terms of the cycle and where we are in the fight versus the SEC, which leaves us with our number one, which is actually a news story that broke a week ago on Friday, which is Ripple acquiring Fortress Trust. Now, it's not really Ripple acquiring Fortress Trust. That's the number one. It's what has happened subsequent to that. Specifically, the very brief timeline of events is that last Thursday, this is Thursday, September 7th, said that there was an incident and that all client funds were safe. On Friday, however, Ripple announced an acquisition of Fortress, which coming right after that all client funds are safe announcement certainly raised some eyebrows. And indeed, by Monday, back to this week, we found out that this was actually a bailout and that $15 million was stolen from Fortress, which was made whole by Ripple. On Wednesday, Coindesk dug up the incident report from the software partner, and it appeared that the software provider and not Fortress themselves were the ones that had the breach. Although it also doesn't appear that Fortress were really abiding by the best practice security offered by that provider. On Monday, Anchorage Digital co -founder Diego Monica had discussed the issues with housing crypto custody within trust companies that may or may not have the technical expertise to do it safely. Now, it was related to the prime trust wallet incident, which, by the way, happened under the same watch of the guy who was running Fortress Trust. But it's certainly just as applicable here. Diego said it is an integration failure. It is a company that did not have the technical ability to do what they're saying that they do. So you've got multiple layers of why this story matters and why it's at the number one slot. First, you have the significance of this crypto institutional consolidation. Fortress was one of very few custodians, and so seeing them get acquired by Ripple will have Ripple effects for the rest of the industry. Second, I think that it is reflective of the larger brittleness of crypto institutions right now coming off of the chaos of the last two years. The infrastructure for big businesses and major funds and major investors to interact with this industry is very, very bad right now. Now, of course, a lot of that is due to the fallout of things like Operation Chokepoint 2 .0, where it's just getting harder and harder to be banked, for example, to get access to things like banking services and accounting services. But whatever the set of reasons, it has set back and will set back the industry. Obviously, one of the major positive trends that we have in crypto right now is the fact that major institutional players are circling around the edges, starting to wade their nose in. You've got Franklin Templeton adding their ETF application to the mix as a for example, and maybe that should be on the list as well. But it will be a significant barrier for those companies if they're not able to actually interact with these basic services like custody without having to go build it themselves. Now, the most likely outcome in my estimation is that they do, in fact, go build it themselves, that the companies who are good at all of these different parts of the traditional financial sector reapply simply that expertise to the crypto space. And I wouldn't be at all surprised if what happens and how the regulatory stuff resolves is that basically authority to do all these things is given to who the regulators perceive as the adults in the room. Another way of putting this is that in the same way that BlackRock is likely to get the first ETF, because that gives regulators the ability to say, look, we gave it to a safe party, I wouldn't be surprised if you see more and more crypto activity being managed by these storied, vaunted financial institutions that have long term relationships with the regulators themselves. At the same time, of course, there is no crisis without opportunity. And by the end of the week, Swann had announced that they have plans to spin out a Bitcoin only custody service. They announced that they are working with cold storage provider BitGo to develop the service and they are planning to structure it as a trust company. Now they are quite clear that this is a very difficult thing to do, that there is going to be a long period of getting the requisite regulatory approvals. But ultimately, I think it would be a huge boon to the ecosystem for that service to exist, especially from a service provider that Bitcoiners have built trust with. And that ultimately that combination of reflecting where the industry is, and the really low ebbs and hard points of what's happened over the last couple of years. But also the fact that there are multiple paths forward, some which we might prefer to others is why the Fortress Trust Ripple and now Swann situation makes my number one for the week. Anyways, my friends that is going to do it for the weekly recap. Let me know what you thought of this format. Come join us on the Breakers Discord. It's a great place to talk about this. I hope you are having a great fall weekend. And until next time, be safe and take care of each other. Peace.

Yo, good morning, everybody. Welcome to Cafe Bitcoin. How are you guys doing? Happy Friday. Morning, nerds. Is it Friday? Holy crap, dude. It's Friday. It's September and it's Friday. I wanted to do that macro, macro, macro, macro, macro. Yeah, I was just going to say, Sam, it's unfortunate you were not involved in that theme meme. I know, man, I thought it was hilarious. Yellow hit it out of the park. Well, it's not such a happy Friday for me. My my writing partner shattered his ankle. So, well, you're laughing about it. Well, fuck you. I mean, it's kind of ridiculous. You know, we actually we actually turned around to go back down because what we were doing was like not only over our heads, but it's not something you really want to do on a 600 pound Enduro bike. And he he he shattered it while we were going down. It was kind of ironic. Peter, you made him jump the fountain, didn't you? No, no. And, you know, I got to say, this dude is savage. With a with a broken ankle, he managed to ride the ride the 10 miles down that we had we had gone up and then another 40 miles to get to the town where we got him to the urgent care. And the the doctor there said that he didn't understand how it wasn't a compound fracture. Well, at least there's that that's a win. Is this mountain biking, I assume? No, this is this is off off road adventure motorcycling. Oh, really? Oh, man, that sounds fun. Oh, no, it wasn't fun at all. It was fucking sheer terror most of the day. Are you an adrenaline junkie, Peter? Let's see, I ski, I cycle, I motorcycle. That's a yes. Jumped out of airplanes. I've stage dived. No, not at all. Have you ever held shit coins? Yes. All of the adrenaline. Now, you know, it was it wasn't it was more in at the time that I was holding them, I was still highly infected by the Fiat virus, not quite so much now. And I just I thought I was diversifying. It's just the same frickin thing that almost everybody goes through. Almost everybody goes through that iteration. You buy a little Bitcoin because its number go up and then you get into some shit coins because you want you to have a diversified portfolio of the of this asset class. And then somebody tells you you're fucking nuts and. You kind of look at it and you start to go down the rabbit hole that is Bitcoin and you realize you that are nuts and you sell your shit coins. The diversification, you see it time and time again, you know, I have a crypto portfolio and they're like, these are my platform coins, these are my privacy coins, and they think they're like diversifying against across the space. And you just kind of like got to shake your head because they're all just baited at Bitcoin. They're all just like increased risk to Bitcoin. Well, it gets like I agree, Sam, but it gets even worse because like and this is why I specifically wrote an article talking about where like that crypto diversification, like you mentioned, is really just like they don't understand that a lot of these shit coins are just downstream from Ethereum and like the way that Ethereum is set up. Like we don't have to go down this like for today's conversation or anything. But I like I approach the conversation is like you guys don't realize that these shit coins are built off of Ethereum. Ethereum is already a broken product to begin with. They're like two levels of leverage that are like mechanically built into these systems on top of the leverage that they're using within derivatives to like pump and dump the price. But that's that's a nuclear bomb that you just don't want to be a part of. Can you tweet what you just said? Because there's a lot of people that would identify with that and they can't really say, but the marketing is so good because that's what it is. It's always the marketing is so good, but it does this. It does that. It's like, no, it doesn't do that shit. It's just marketing.

The Breakdown
A highlight from SEC Defeats, Binance Intrigue, and a Bitcoin Flop: The Biggest Stories of the Week
"Welcome back to The Breakdown with me, NLW. It's a daily podcast on macro, Bitcoin, and the big picture power shifts remaking our world. What's going on, guys? It is Saturday, September 2nd, and that means it's time for the weekly recap, albeit a slightly different version. Before we get into that, however, if you are enjoying The Breakdown, please go subscribe to it, give it a rating, give it a review, or if you want to dive deeper into the conversation, come join us on the Breakers Discord. You can find the link in the show notes or go to bit .ly slash breakdown pod. Hello, friends. How's it going? Happy Labor Day weekend. Now, one of the things you've probably heard me talk about before is that I'm never exactly sure what I want to do with this weekly recap slot. A lot of the weeks I just use it as an extra episode because there's been so many topics going on that we just didn't get a chance to cover everything. But one of the ideas that I had for it going way back to when I first started doing these recaps was to actually use it as a chance to do a bit more call it editorialization. When it comes to the average Breakdown show, part of what I think you guys like is that I keep the opinion and op -ed to a minimum. Now, of course, I have my perspective on things and they come out and there are some times that episodes just need to let the hot takes rip. But by and large, my goal is to give you information. I think that news in general and especially in a sector as contentious as crypto is so hot under the collar that simply presenting a diverse array of perspectives without trying to just nudge you towards my own is the value add that I can offer that maybe is missing in some other places. That said, I also do think there's something interesting about being able to contextualize the news and give some takes around it. And so when Scott Milker, who some of you listen to as the wolf of all streets, asked me to start experimenting with a Friday news countdown recap show, I thought it was totally worth a try. So what you have is a first collaboration that comes from a live stream on Friday morning. Basically, we talked through what we had determined were five top news stories from the week. And as you'll hear, have a whole lot more room for discussion and analysis than just reporting the news. Now, if you guys just strictly want facts, you will have heard about all these things before on the shows earlier this week. However, if, on the other hand, you want some of those hot takes and more discussion around the big events of this week, this might scratch that itch. Now, as to the specific topics, one of the things that made this week interesting is that a lot of the summer has been fairly quiet, but it ended with kind of a bang. The court cases that were determined this week have, I think, big implications for things heading into the fall. And so there was, as you will see, a lot to discuss. Anyways, you know all the different channels to find me at NLW on Twitter, YouTube comments, or, of course, in the Breakers Discord. Let me know what you think about this format. Let me know if you enjoyed the conversation. And we'll see where we go from here. For now, like I said, I hope you're having a great holiday weekend. Let's dive in.

Markets Daily Crypto Roundup
A highlight from Crypto Update | SEC Delays Spot Bitcoin ETF Decision for All Applicants
"This episode of Markets Daily is sponsored by Kraken and Simpliras. It's Friday, September 1st, 2023, and this is Markets Daily from CoinDesk. Hi, Michelle Musso here with your crypto markets roundup. On today's show, we're talking Bitcoin, Spot Bitcoin ETFs and more. And just a reminder, CoinDesk is a news source and does not provide investment advice. Bitcoin and major tokens gave back all weekly gains as the SEC, the U .S. Securities and Exchange Commission, delayed key exchange -traded fund decisions that were expected on Friday, dampening traders' hopes of a long -term recovery. The largest cryptocurrency fell under $26 ,000. In the past 24 hours, majors Solana and Litecoin dropped as much as 5 .5%, while Ether lost 3 .7%. Only Tron and TonCoin were in the green on Friday, up over 1 % each. With Spot Bitcoin ETF aspirations sidelined after the SEC yesterday pushed off decisions on a raft of new applications, crypto bulls are hoping an employment slowdown and lower interest rates could provide a positive catalyst. The U .S. added 187 ,000 jobs in August versus expectations for 170 ,000, while the unemployment rate for August stood at 3 .8%, surpassing earlier forecasts of only 3 .5 % and marking an increase from the previous month's figure of 3 .5%. The price of Bitcoin exhibited minimal fluctuations, hovering slightly above $26 ,000. In the immediate aftermath of the Friday morning release of the Bureau of Labor Statistics report, Bitcoin bulls might be looking to a softening in the economy and thus lower interest rates as a possible catalyst for market action. While this morning's report provided some interest in the form of rising unemployment rate, job growth continues to be chugging along. And shifting to stablecoins, Lyra backed TRYB token has become the world's second largest non dollar pegged stablecoin, second only to Tether's euro pegged EURT. While the stablecoin world is dominated by dollar backed tokens like Tether and USD coin, there's a smaller chunk of the market that's pegged to other currencies. Now a token backed by Turkey's Lyra, one of the most volatile fiat currencies globally, has become one of the world's leading non -US dollar pegged stablecoins. Data from CoinGetGo shows the market cap of TRYB has surged by 325 % in three weeks. Buylyra told CoinDesk in an email, quote, since the Turkish Lyra price has been very volatile and losing value against the US dollar, the TRYB token is mostly a medium of exchange currency. Continuing, our customers have been using the TRYB token as a gateway to exchange their Turkish Lyra fiat into cryptocurrency and vice versa. End quote. Stay tuned for after the break when we'll take a look at the latest news on Spot Bitcoin ETF applications.

A highlight from MARKETS DAILY: Crypto Update | SEC Delays Spot Bitcoin ETF Decision for All Applicants

The Hair Radio Show with Kerry Hines
A Chronicle of Black Culture: The Hair Radio Morning Show Nears 900 Episodes!
"It's Friday morning, it's August 11th of 2023, it's voucher number 878, Michael Hopkins. Wow. 878. I just don't know what to say on that note. That's a lot of shows. That's a lot. That's a real show. That's a heck of a lot of shows. Yeah. And we are discharging for that 1 ,000. Exactly, and with that in mind, I was thinking that once we hit number 900, that we would focus on a lot of the classic interviews. There's so many, so many wonderful things that have been said and played on our network that we really have not replayed, and I thought it would be good to go into those vaults, kind of like what Geraldo Rivera did way back in the day, and dig up some of those old interviews and so much content and kind of mine it again, and we air it for you guys. Sure. And we've got, once we get to 900 shows, we are almost there. In a couple days, we'll be at number 900. Probably, I'm gonna give you an idea when, this is August, I'll say by about October, we should be hitting the 900 month at the latest, so September, October. So once we get to 900, which is a lot, just even today, the number 900 is huge. When we get to 900, that means we have 100 exact shows to go, and 100 shows is not a lot. No, it's not. And we're gonna count down those 100 shows, and we're gonna count them down from, because once we get to 900, and I said that we would play, go back into our vaults once we got to 900, and really kind of go over some of the things that we covered here from show number one, all the way through show number 900. So this is, it's exciting. Yes, it really is, Terry. Very exciting. Yeah, I'm very, very pleased. There are no words to say, Terry. I mean, we have just pushed that envelope. I mean, to get to 1 ,000 shows, and just, like you say, even going back, and that's a great idea, going back and just looking at the classic head radio morning shows. You know, the big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big, minutes here. Right. And, Michael, we have, you know, and I can really say this, the show has been a chronicle of Black culture. We are at, today, show number 878. So each show is three hours. So we are the most prolific of anybody in hair and beauty broadcasting in the world. But what really jumps out at me is that I have been here working in our studio at this desk for 878 mornings. 878 mornings. Wow. With everybody. My alarm goes off at 4. The show starts at 6. And so in the block of that time, I'm preparing my day and yours, looking at what music we'll play, what is the conversations, what's going to drive the conversations to make sure that everybody's days start in the most positive way possible. And then if that's not enough, we look at some of the biggest news stories. I often think back, you know, when I'm listening to the hair radio morning show, after we wrap at 9 o 'clock New York time, I go back and listen to the day's broadcast. So, you know, a little later in the morning or early afternoon, I'm washing dishes, doing housework, I'm listening back to the broadcast to see if there was anything we could maybe improve upon or change up or whatever. Right. And sometimes, most of the time, I just love the music that we play in the show and it's just great to hear it pop up again.

The Breakdown
The Altcoin Apocalypse: Understanding Crypto's Weekend Crash
"You were watching the coins on Friday night, well, let's just say for the sake of your Friday night, I hope you weren't watching the coins. Today, obviously, we are exploring the Altpocalypse that sent a slew of tokens down by 15, 20 percent plus and asking, of course, what drove it. But to do so, we have to go back a little bit earlier. On Friday morning, Robinhood announced that they would be ending support for all the tokens named as securities in the lawsuits brought by the SEC last week. That delisting will affect Solana, Cardano and Polygonsmatic. Users will be able to access transfers and trading for the three tokens until June 27th. After that date, Robinhood will sell user assets at the market price and credit their accounts. Robinhood noted that no other coins are affected and that all tokens are safely held in cold storage. Now, this was the capstone on a week that also saw Robinhood's chief compliance officer, Dan Gallagher, testifying before Congress around the company's frustration with being unable to register the platform to offer crypto trading. Gallagher, who is formerly an SEC commissioner, said, quote, When Chair Gensler at the SEC in 2021 said, come in and register. We did. We went through a 16 month process with the SEC staff trying to register a special purpose broker dealer. And then we were pretty summarily told in March that the process was over and we would not see any fruits of that effort, end quote. Robinhood said that the delisting decision was part of their regular review process. However, only all coins named by the SEC were affected. Similar alts, for example, like Avalanche remain available. Robinhood tweeted, Earlier this week, the SEC sued crypto companies Binance and Coinbase. The SEC has alleged that a number of crypto currencies trading on those platforms are unregistered securities, including three that are currently supported on Robinhood crypto. This introduced a cloud of uncertainty around these assets, and as a result, our team has decided to end support for them. We believe in the future of crypto and will continue to advocate for regulatory clarity in the U .S. so that customers can participate in the marketplace with greater confidence. Now this is all infuriating and seems pretty much exactly like the SEC's goal. Ethereum mainstay Eric Conner said, As much as I'm not a fan of Solana and Cardano, I will absolutely stand against the SEC using bullying tactics to force exchanges to delist them.

Kansas passes bill to end gender-affirming care for minors
"Kansas lawmakers have passed a bill that would punish doctors who provide gender affirming care for transgender youth, but it's not likely to become law. Kansas governor Laura Kelly, a Democrat is expected to veto a Republican backed bill passed in the wee hours Friday morning, proposing to revoke the medical licenses of doctors who provide gender affirming care to minors in Kansas, supporters say they are trying to protect children from side effects or changes that can't be reversed. State senator Mike Thompson described it as pushback from parents. NY Post: Trump Threatens 'Death and Destruction' to Alvin Bragg
"Didn't have this on my bingo card. Trump posts disturbing photo with Alvin Bragg threatens death and destruction. Here's the New York Post characterizing the last 24 hours. Former president Trump sparked outrage by sharing images showing him holding a baseball bat next to Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg's head as he threatened death and destruction if he is criminally charged, Trump shared the image, which was featured in a link to an article on his truth social platform, he kept on raging until the early hours of Friday morning with continued incendiary name calling, he wrote after 1 a.m., here's what he posted after one in the morning. What kind of person can charge another person in this case a former president who got more votes than any sitting president in history and leading candidate by far for the Republican Party nomination with a crime when it is known by all that no crime has been committed and also known that potential death and destruction in such a false charge could be catastrophic for our country. Why and who would do such a thing only a degenerate psychopath that truly hates the USA? Now, like I said, never thought I'd be asking you about stuff like this.

HASHR8
We're Seeing Similarities to May of 2022
"We are recording this Friday morning. It is 9 30 mountain time. So it's what love and 30 Eastern Time. Bitcoin's price almost broke to $27,000 this morning. It's up around 5% in the 24 hours previously and is up about 30% this week in 56% year to date. That's obviously pretty amazing for everyone's bags. And it's also helping out hash price a little bit. I think we're over 7 sets with hash price. The thing that's interesting to me is transaction count, which or the fullness of the mem pool, if you will, is increasing the drastically we've seen two large increases in the mempool size since the beginning of the year. Once in February, when ordinals started really going, haywire, and then the last week would Bitcoin's price has been going up. Historically, we often see the men pool really fill up with transactions during a bull run when a lot of retail floods into the market and this current fullness of men pull is very similar to May of 2022, which is when we had the contagion in the explosion and Tara Luna. So another time for a lot of transactions on chain. Get a throw it over to you for your thoughts on all that. Filling up the increasing transaction fees good for minors, first of all, good for miners on both fronts, price going up and more transactions. So that's exciting. It seems the mental to me seems to be kind of driven again by ordinals inscriptions. This seems like there's like some deja and competition for the 500,000th inscription. And there's some like pre hefty size transactions and the pool right now, which definitely seemed like very similar to the ones we were seeing. So that's kind of unique and interesting there.

Joe Scarborough: Biden Should Try Reversing Trump's 'Deregulations'
"Here we have Joe Scarborough Last Friday morning Cut one go The thing is just to show how hypocritical Donald Trump and the Republicans are being that are criticizing Joe Biden's response they should immediately Joe Biden should immediately propose a bill that reverses every one of Donald Trump's deregulations that made train train safety more tenuous They could do that Just to show the hypocrisy And let's see how many let's see watch how quickly that Bill is killed in the Republican House The democratic Senate could push to try to pass it See how many Republicans in the Senate kill it from even being voted on because they're interested in deregulating these sort of events making it more dangerous which regulation you're talking about Joe You don't even know what you're talking about

Kurt Schlichter Breaks Down the Final RNC Showdown
"Us now is Kurt schlichter, Kurt, I'm going to see you later this week. I am going to Dana point California kicking and screaming. But I will be there, and I say that half sarcastically, because going to the RNC meeting, not exactly where I want to spend my time. But I do so out of duty to our audience and hopefully to the country, but Dana point, if you will say, I'm glad it's not in, let's just say, buffalo, New York, love buffalo, New York, not exactly as nice as Dana point right now. But it would make more sense. I don't know if they were in a battleground state. Separate issue, but I'm going to see you there. I'm going to be at the RNC meeting. I'm going to be doing whatever I possibly can where I can be helpful to the cause of trying to change RNC leadership, whether it be Mike lindell or harmeet villain. Close with both of them, you're going to be there as well, Kurt, if I understand, walk us through the state of the RNC race. Well, look, I'm going to head down there tonight. It's at the Waldorf Astoria, which kind of gives you. Just the thought of the Republicans meeting at the Waldorf Astoria after the semi disastrous November election. Where would they meet if they had done well for psi? You know, I hear about this obscure resort in southern Utah. I think it's called the amend Geary, where it's $17,000 a night. Yeah. Maybe that would be in the cards. Yeah, I just. We need a change, Charlie. What we're doing isn't working. We're going to make Daniel and she may be a very nice person. I don't know her. And I don't care, all right? You got to sometimes you got to channel Tommy Lee Jones in the fugitive. I'm not here to make friends. I'm here to win. She has a proven track record for failing. She's an O and 5 on federal election cycles, two of those being Georgia runoffs. She's apparently learned nothing. She's making no case for herself except this vague idea of unity, which I'm all for. We should unify around herme Dylan because harmony Dylan has a vision of the future that involves reforming the RNC to make it lean, mean efficient. And a winning machine again. It's going to be a tough race. There are a 168 electors, three per state or territory, and they're going to pick Friday morning. And we will see who they choose.

Republicans Have to Communicate More Honestly With Voters
"Of the day, I am amazed that I hear actual people who are, you know, that are libertarians call in our Republican Party who are who are not. Pro life and others who call other Republicans rhinos. At a certain point now, folks, let's just get along and say we're a conservative agenda, some are more conservative than others. That's what the Democrats tend to do. And at the end of the day, they try to get stuff done. So we're here at the end of the week. As you hear this, they're on a Friday morning, you know, we may or may not have a speaker. I'm assuming we're going to. But what does this actually reveal about the new Republican majority? It is revealing something that I have said to you now for almost the last year on this podcast. Is that Republicans and I've talked about it as you've heard me talk to guests is Republicans have to be more honest in their communication with the voters. They have to be more honest with communication about what can get done, what can't get done and what would be a long shot in getting done. I've said this before for all those folks who said, we're going to impeach Joe Biden. Well, what does that actually get you because you know now even last time there was no way is going to happen in the last Congress and this Congress, if you were able to strike by enough votes, by the way, you probably won't with some of the members who were elected in districts that Joe Biden actually won. So you only have four to play with. This four number 5 number, if you want to count it as 5, cuts both ways. And the real conservative line is you got to do this every Republican should vote for it while not every Republican will.

And what time do they get up it. What time do they go to bed. And what happens all the way between those two those two moments just anybody kind of curious what jason does from the minute. He gets up to the minute he goes to bed. I mean not a wonder because he consistently seven pm jerseys in one of the most competitive markets in the world montecito. It's a small mark is very malibu. it's very like like controlled by a few agents. And so you got to wonder. What is he doing on a daily basis to be cranking at all these sales and so jason. I talk about that. He says yeah. I can do that. It is my life a good morning. J. morning peter how are you. Thanks for having me. It's great I guess we begin. When alarm goes off you have an award. I do so yeah. It goes off around five. Am and i have a five am daily. Mastermind call that. I joined with I'm tom ferry coaching still. My coach has five. Am called its agents all across the country and then we just talk about the market marketing. Anything real estate related So that goes from about five to five thirty then in the morning. I'm gonna make myself some breakfast Depending on what day it is. I go to the gym at seven. Am and i have a and this is what my kids are still sleep I've got us seven. Am cross fit workout for about an hour. i come home. A will drink like protein shake and have some recovery drinks for the day. And then i get my kids up Make them breakfast and regionally out the door at about nine. Fifteen or school starts at nine thirty. They're back in school now and Then i get to the office By nine forty five and then. If it's a monday we have a team meeting from ten. Am eleven am and basically a you know my whole morning. My whole day is pretty much can addicted by this. This my playbook right here. This is what. I do everyday. So when when i kick off by day i write out what my goal is through the year so this year my goal is eighty million and i write this down every single day just to remind me of you know what i'm what my goal is. Alright down what. I've closed year to date what i have pending and the difference to where i need to be to get to my girl so last year my goal is forty million and i did this on a daily basis. We reach sixty seven million one point six million in i in this your goals eighty millions trying to exceed that really per second so a lot of this for almost five. Am to have buried..

"We can legitimately have you market these assets to your clients position yourselves as experts on the florida market which is extremely hot and earning three or four percent commission. Right away Which is really something. That i mean. I've i've seen happen the other way around when a client walks in the door chronic buys a ten million dollar condo or the commission is four hundred thousand dollars and then afterwards the agent calls us and says hey you know that was my client and of course you know. Our hands are now tied. Not because we don't want to make the money but because the developer saying that agent had nothing to do with this sale. So it's a it's a really powerful opportunity. Both for our religions in florida there joining in. I saw bunch of you participating in this friday morning drive to share information not only from florida to california but also your california agents on the line. Show your inventory with us because there is the transition in this country right now we are seeing people making moves and i think quite frankly as said peter in the rest of us on the call this morning. You know it's not it's it's not. It's it's a very easy conversation with california. Because i think we both live in destination markets where the weather is amazing. It's apostrophes amazing features. We've got the culture. We really have it all really with stephen collar. Peter is the best people in the industry leading. You and i hope i can follow in their footsteps of our easily easily So you know whatever market you work in At douglas element you elevate to becoming a global advisor and i love what Stephen collar and and you could steven if you could just like. Tell us what you say when somebody asks you you know house the market one mortgage uh. This is the. Us market is international market. Is the florida market it. That's the best question peter right. Yeah it is so in your buyer seller. Are you investor. Are you renter. So i think with us. And we have so many markets that we serve and to to what what jay said. I'd rather that we refer this business too far to than seeing that customers show up on their doorstep and we know that that happens so you know with with this gives you the ability to go out and market another product to your farm and i was sharing this morning if anyone wants to do it. Just go to folio that element dot com..

Maria's <Speech_Male> more of the <Speech_Male> commerce <Speech_Male> yet they're right next <Silence> door each other so <Speech_Male> we <Speech_Male> try to learn as much <Speech_Male> as ten <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> and then i more <Speech_Male> about as <Speech_Male> much numbers <SpeakerChange> out of area <Silence> over that too. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Yeah i <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> for me i. <Speech_Male> I work <Speech_Male> mostly with investor <Speech_Male> clients in the short <Speech_Male> term rental market <Speech_Male> and focus on like <Speech_Male> destination location <Speech_Male> where short <Speech_Male> term rentals are in high <Speech_Male> demand. <Speech_Male> So i'm doing a lot <Speech_Male> of data analysis <Speech_Male> using air <Speech_Male> a mash adviser <Speech_Male> pulling like occupancy <Speech_Male> rates <Speech_Male> daily average <Speech_Male> rates. And things like <Speech_Male> that because you know investors. <Speech_Male> Want the numbers <Speech_Male> so. <Speech_Male> I'm also <Speech_Male> looking at locations. <Speech_Male> Like <Speech_Male> josh betrays <Speech_Male> very nuanced. <Speech_Male> It seems like the whole area's <Speech_Male> just one big desert. <Speech_Male> But you know <Speech_Male> you have monument manner <Speech_Male> you have upper friendly <Speech_Male> hills you have <Speech_Male> panorama heights <Speech_Male> these different neighborhoods <Speech_Male> command different <Speech_Male> occupancy rates <Speech_Male> in different average <Speech_Male> daily rates too. <Speech_Male> So i have to <Speech_Music_Male> be familiar with <Speech_Music_Male> what these different <Speech_Music_Male> neighborhoods are pulling <Speech_Male> in numbers wise <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Because you know <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> rian. I'm on <Speech_Male> in escrow and twenty <Speech_Male> nine palms with a <Speech_Male> client that <Speech_Male> He works. He <Speech_Male> lives in nevada henderson. <Speech_Male> Nevada <Speech_Male> and <Speech_Male> She's <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Relying <Speech_Male> on me to <Speech_Male> know <Speech_Male> whether the <Speech_Male> property that he's <Speech_Male> an escrow on is going <Speech_Male> to be <Speech_Male> lucrative as the short <Speech_Male> term rentals. I really <Speech_Male> have to be up on <Speech_Male> my game in that regard <Speech_Male> so there's a lot of <Speech_Male> prep work and <Speech_Male> does a lot of <Speech_Male> preparation <Silence> <Advertisement> that i have to do. Yeah <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> <SpeakerChange> you <Silence> prep derek. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Mostly <Speech_Male> like with my clients. <Speech_Male> These are people are moving <Speech_Male> into their own home. And <Speech_Male> i strongly <Speech_Male> encourage them to go <Speech_Male> up and drive the area <Speech_Male> you know. Learn <Speech_Male> learn the neighborhoods <Speech_Male> if if school <Speech_Male> district important to <Speech_Male> them. I you know. <Speech_Male> I have them identified <Speech_Male> the school district. They want to <Speech_Male> be in <Speech_Male> Then once they <Speech_Male> give me the information. <Speech_Male> I'll pull up what whatsoever <Speech_Male> what's available. <Speech_Male> What's coming soon <Speech_Male> and kind of like <Speech_Male> alex. I <SpeakerChange> i <Speech_Male> like numbers. So <Speech_Music_Male> <Silence> <Speech_Male> brew them down into <Speech_Male> something that makes sense <Speech_Male> to the client. And then i give <Speech_Male> them that information <Speech_Male> but as far as <Speech_Male> area and stuff. <Speech_Male> I really demand. <Speech_Male> I don't demand. But i. <Speech_Male> I strongly suggest <Speech_Male> that they tell me <Speech_Male> where they want to be. <Speech_Male> And then i'll <Speech_Male> give them the particulars <Speech_Male> of what the market's doing <Speech_Male> in that area <Speech_Male> and how <SpeakerChange> best to <Silence> spend their money. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> We're at the <Speech_Male> bottom of the hour. So <Speech_Male> we're gonna. We're gonna stop <Speech_Male> the friday morning drive. <Speech_Male> You can see from <Speech_Male> a chat everybody. <Speech_Male> That's gotta listing <Speech_Male> somewhere. <Speech_Male> You know scrape to know <Speech_Male> that. We have <Speech_Male> agents like jason <Speech_Male> derek and alex <Speech_Male> in the company <Speech_Male> because so many of <Speech_Male> us have slept <Speech_Male> in a sleeping bag <Speech_Male> joshua tree <Speech_Male> or driven through <Speech_Male> tequila or lancaster <Speech_Male> but no nothing <Speech_Male> about those markets <Speech_Male> and yet we may have virus. <Speech_Male> That really would like to <Speech_Male> be there so <Speech_Male> reach out to these three <Speech_Male> reach out to others <Speech_Male> company. That are <Speech_Male> are no bad <Speech_Male> realtors <Speech_Male> in semi <Speech_Male> little business and make some <Speech_Male> money on the side for yourselves. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Great day everyone <Speech_Male> is <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> the friday morning drugs. <Speech_Male> Thank <Speech_Male> you <SpeakerChange> thank <Speech_Male> you.

I both i partner in apartment building in. La forty units in the middle of the money and the said okay. I figured this out. So then i invested in three hundred twenty units in fresno. And i got my ass kicked from sorry for my french for here today to the moon and then figure out not the agents of the shoppers benson in the box. So i said okay. I'm going to go study released. The because i i want to learn how to do this. So that's long story for a small questions but that's how about to release the row. Okay so now so now. You're you're in real estate Where did you discipleship practice right out of the gate. Well that's also a long story A woman to newport. But the time so it's other than in newport immediately newport beach new provincia ya ya house now and isreaeli. They can't speak english in newport. Beach house out will the time or the the time i hit my green film. Ucla so I'm still working on it. The great. that's great. I just know newport beach i came down here. And it's not the most welcoming town. I didn't buy anyway. I never thought about it. So it was welcoming permit. That's great So so here you are now. You're in like one of the most luxury real estate markets in the world by the way that's not a slight on newport reject. I don't mean that to be just that it's very very like palisades. I grew six palestinian. Clicky right you have to you have to work. You got to work harder to get into some of these groups that's off and so here you are. You're in you're in you're in newport beach during the luxury markets. Where did you do. How did you build a business. Started the open houses in focus on one a community. Which right now i still. I'm pretty focused guys. So i have a very tight schedule Doing day every day and we do probably sixty percent of the business in that community right now. There are the thing. Seven listing in community. And i have five of them and that's usually predict consistent like that Much much market is at into. It's a small community of inviolable blah. Okay then anybody that tries to get endure. I fight like dogo. Look like resin. Kick them out nobody. They manage the established. So that's my bread and butter at red matter. Yeah and then we do newport beach. The peninsula with starting to tackle the peninsula in the Swear end in about six months will stop to work. Would on land in corona del mar in the us. "I'm going to say that. I thought was very valuable on the call that we had on the uniquely yours. This week someone common did that. Health the new luxury and You know here. You couldn't see that being more true. That's combining all the elements that related typically is and making their projects. The masterpieces they are is one thing. But when you add in dallas And you add in the beach lifestyle of pompano. it really is a perfect perfect scenario. So i'm hoping all of you will be able to realize benefit for yourselves and bring a product to your clients. Have a question does does come into existing properties and and make changes there to bring them up to these standards or just new construction a great question. Peter note short answer is yes We brought into construction earlier is always better so that it can be aligned with the design intent of the architects of the designers on the property. However we have retrofit solutions as well so the what we like to say is healthy. Living is a right not a privilege so regardless of the price scale typology single family multifamily high rise. Low rise. what have you. We have a very scalable solution that aligns with the design intense right down to fit and finish that can accommodate any price point and any typology so not only. Is this really important for sola. Mar in terms of leveraging as as a differentiator but for everyone. That's joining us today. Think about this for your own projects whether you're working with new developers working on sell side or buy side representations or what have you these are solutions that you can incorporate into projects so Shapiro you know. I'm going to give marshall pekka plug for a minute because we've been working with dealers actually for almost four years we actually had posted at our convention at elevate a couple years ago. So packers house on summit ridge in In beverly hills which is a dallas house. It's going to be complete very soon. And froggy wanna see data's product contact marshall House on the market for some of the range of about twenty five million dollars but full full daily amenities and so. I think we were headed. This was great here. Paul talk about this. I think it was three or four years ago and no. I don't think it was on. Everyone's mind as much as now. Obviously so timely anthony. I'm sure you guys are getting a lot of attention For what you over overwhelming response and more important than response. It's just demand the demand for wellness and dalos has been at this for quite some time so we are the the authority in wellness real estate and technology as it relates to that. But i'm yeah. I'll i'll echo shut out to marshall that summit ridge property it's a magnificent property on all levels but it was also the first well home that was that was designed with that intent as a leading narrative in country and it is an extraordinary property. It is integrated wellness from dalos from top to bottom It's really it's a special property. we've got circadian lighting in every single fixture throughout the home Advanced.

"Paid in installments. So you don't have to wait till the project is complete to get paid here. You're going to get paid portion upon the initial expiration of the what we call a fifteen day recision period another portion and they're all types of deposits When the building starts construction which we anticipate to be in the next few months and then the last of course when it closes. So there's a real income. Earning opportunity and as john said and i can't emphasize it. Enough related has always turned a great opportunity into an incredible investment And so this is a real winner on all levels and the price points extraordinary. What do you expect delivery to be john. Twenty twenty and the twenty twenty two. We'll we'll be at the spring of twenty twenty two. We're expecting to break ground. In march or april our sales velocity has been more than embraced by us and just really really strong right now. So we're going to move forward right now. We've already applied for permits. Show anthony We know dallas a little bit in california. I'm we're used to living healthy already here. So this is just adding as the dallas product is amazing. We've had a lot of experience working with them. And i think those of who don't know about it It really makes a huge difference in people's lifestyles value of to the property. So anthony thank you for joining us this morning. Thanks for having me is good to be with you. Guys appreciate all the support and we're really happy to be able to touch as many people as humanly possible for those of you. that don't know about dallas. I'll give you a quick thirty seconds. Summary and then i know the team is going to share some documentation with you so i won't go into the gory. Details but adele sweep and merging the building sciences and the health sciences. For over eight years. First five years of the company was pure research with the likes of the mayo clinic. Cleveland clinic and literally hundreds of individual contributors across architecture design medical sciences health sciences subject matter experts across aarp occasion lighting purification bio failure etcetera to prove the thesis that if we buildings better with the human condition in mind could we possibly have a improved health outcome for those people so with that five years of foundational research. We proved the thesis and we went to work to commercialize Our research platform. We did. I come to market with what is now known as the well building standard We spun off into a completely separate company to administrate that standard. That's called the well building standards. Some of you may have some familiarity with that. I reference it here because that is all of the same foundational science evidence and research that goes into all of our consumer facing products and services. So that solution is now distributed in over eighty countries around the world north of a billion square feet of registered and certified space. So now we take that same recieve research foundation and we bring that forward into the residential environment across all different typologies. What we're able to do using that research is informed better combinations of technology so we've got create. we've created algorithms software in protocol darwin. That's the healthy smart component of your home and that talks to third party products case it were monitoring and remediating the.

Very peaceful pompano is under a revitalization been talked about for years but it is happening right now. They have relied revitalize the whole downtown area. They just finished literally a twenty minute. Walk from the project which would be awesome. The go down there and they have three restaurants do reckless on the sand facing the ocean. They have a boardwalk that they've completely redone with free yoga classes every saturday and sunday and hundreds of people show up. It's it's incredible to be a part of. I do quite often on their developing a five star resort and marina. Right down this street. And the touch with jay said it is close everywhere that you want to be. It's ten minutes from fort lauderdale. It's about fifteen minutes from boca raton. It's about forty five minutes the bowel harbor which is some of the greatest shopping. If you really wanna take it a little step further a little under an hour from worth avenue so you can go to all those places and with the all with all the action and all the shopping and yet you can come back to saul amore in stepped right back in to peace and tranquility. It's we are literally. I would say five minute. Walk away from one of the oldest inlets in the state of florida. The hillsboro inlet. It still has a functioning lighthouse that works every night and from solemn from our terrorists because all of our residents are directorship view. You're literally going to be able to see the lighthouse going up and down the coast. It's amazing. I live ten minutes north of here. I get to see it so it makes it very special for people that are are boaters or with yachts literally ten minutes away. There is a lighthouse point marina that handles up to one hundred foot yacht so pompilio is the perfect place to launch this project. Now let's talk about sola mart. It is a boutique building..

Oh my kids you know but what does it mean you have to be really specific about your y and so over the years i had a lot of wise that actually made a lot of sense for me and it was because i wanted my my kids to have a better life than i had growing up right or i wanted them to have more things or one of the have better experiences in in i worked with my coach against for years on this and he challenged me and i i got mad at from time to time because he was always asking me. You know like how come like. Why do you want your hair life. Because i just wanted to have better life. Why because my child had kinda sucked will but what does that mean in any going on and on and understand. I wanted them to understand love. And and in commitment and grief and respect and all these things these life things understand money. We never talked about money. Like i got to the point to where. I wanted my kids to to understand all these things right and in how i need to be the person that kind of models at for them and isn't that so my big y comes down to after years of doing this to where i just want my kids at some point in my when they they've grown up maybe they're out of college. They're in their twenties. They've lived their life. Maybe they've met. Some people have heartbroken. Whatever it is the understand compassion and empathy. And i want them to come back to me and say my my my big wife when i write it down says i want my kids to come back to me and tell me as an adult dad. We had a really good life in life. That i see i say this during business planning season hundred times and i still i get choked up now saying it because because it works and i'll tell you this no matter what anyone does no matter what the market does no matter what the agents do no matter what anyone might competitor say. Nobody fucks with that with me. Because i'm no one's gonna take that away from my kids. I'll be damned if you do because because my wife is than you and you won't you can't mess with it and so it. It took years get there. But i had a lot of great ones along the way you also so you may not have the big one right now but it's but it could still work. I love that everybody. Everybody gets that. Because you cross the finish line in nome with your dog team You've been on that sled for seventeen days living breathing taking care of your dogs. You know pushing yourself to the limit sleep-deprived this is another thing. Peter talks about which we know about from from sealed training. Is you find out that you can do so much more capable of so much more under stress than you think. Got to the finish line. My family was there Streets are lined with people. Local people cheering you on and they take your dog team away from you to go off into the dog lot They pamper them and feed them steaks. And i was like no no no no no no. I'm not leaving my dogs. I couldn't you know it was just we were so connected so This bond that is built. "You have lee dog which can have a variety of characteristics but the first and foremost is the dog that is willing to lead the entire team down the trail on take commands right or left has the intelligence to know if the where the trailers could smell it can feel it with their feet in but they have a lot of independence in. They want to be up front. They want to be have the responsibility they want to please And that's a very very unique characteristic right behind the lead dogs swing dogs so swing. Dogs are Are dogs that could be. Oftentimes our leaders in often no the commands. And when you give aids elite doug commander writer languages Swing dogs might go with two. They might help. Help the lead dog. you know by pulling the team on in some cases swing dog doesn't agree with the with the lead dog on on the direction they're going in they'll they'll sometimes Pull the opposite direction and be like no no no. That's the wrong what you're going the wrong way. I know which way the trailers so they're but they're very key members they set the pace they also can lead them behind swing dogs. You have the team dogs team. Dogs could be. There could be two or three rows of a team dogs which are basically. They're the steady pullers can always rely on them. They don't necessarily have the characteristics to make good good lead dog but you kind of forget about them they do the work and And they're they're in. They're helping get the sled down the trail in there right in front of the sled. You have the wheel dogs. These are usually the toughest dogs in the team. Because they're closest to this lead they get jerked around a lot when the sled whipped around quarters and and they're usually just they're they're like the draft horses of of the team in so some if you are probably sitting here thinking ho. What kind of dog. I am where i am. How would i fit in the team. And what would it take for for me to be a lead dog. Or maybe i don't wanna be elite dog but in and i like to follow a law and i'd like to you know i faced in the dogs ahead of me In in so everybody has a role in dogs. Ensure there's most of you are our dog owners here. Y'all know how sensitive they are. How intuitive to our to our own you know to to us to each other to the dynamics within the team there's really not much not much difference between humans dogs when it comes right down to it terms of emotions and so you know what i learned in those in those years with two..

"I wanted to just kind of talk about the fact that like dog machine. Real estate requires training and preparation and it takes a lot of discipline. Peter talks a lot about this all the time about how disciplined leads to freedom writers. There's something that you're a big proponent of that's correct and so the the the training the the diet of the dogs the interaction with the dogs interaction with people supporting your people loving the dogs loving the people you work with it. All leads to a successful journey whether it's a thousand miles across alaska or to a successful business model Whether selling luxury luxury real state or or getting a number of listings in your part of the team the primaries in the team are responsible for taking care of making sure the needs are being met of of the team members in order for you to be successful in get to the finish line in one of the things that's very unique about sled dogs is. They are elite athletes. There's there's a way to measure the fitness of humans. Dogs called Via to matt's which is which talks about how well oxygen is transferred to your muscles so for instance a a sled dog or an average human being whose fed works out five days a week. The mvp to max of about forty a world class sub. Four minute miler has view to max of Ninety eighty to ninety a sled dog the trains lead. doug has revealed to max of three hundred and They have the ability to go one hundred miles a day without improvement on very little sleep. They consume of twelve thousand calories a day during the idea. Rod which is pretty remarkable for an animal that Typical average sled dogs is about forty to sixty pounds on the i did route. So they're they're elite athletes train their tone and in the same way we all try Aspire to peter again is a great example of this is that he treats he treats the whole part of real estate as it's a holistic approach. It's not just having great knowledge about real estate is also fine-tuning the body whether it's is physical training mental training in. I think we all aspired to to that end up. Finally a finely tuned dog team is is really a reflection of that training in And also one of the things. I looked at when i was studying the sport and i had plans to go on and compete at a high level and i wanted to win the race someday but life changes children. It just didn't make sense on. Kong compassi lifeset lifestyle. Was i looked at what the winners the top mushers. Who have won the iditarod for five times. There's not very many of them have in one of my mentors. Who's a butcher. who she. She won the race four times and she was she the common denominator that all of these winners had was superb. Dog care there's a fantastic attitude of positively with their dogs when they when they would come out of you know Cidade checked into a checkpoint on the trail on got something to came out to take care of their dogs. Dogs would all jump to their feet and just daily had is for for that for that person and they own they were. They worship them because of mutual respect and care that that that person was providing them so just to give you a little idea of what the layout of a team you have..

And you know when when edna were thinking about this call about being a team leader being team member. You know a quote came to me. And i'm just want to kick it off with this quote to be a good team leader. You have to be a good team follower. That's the bottom line. If you don't follow you'll never learn how to lead you. Be a good leader. You have to be a good follower. And ed four. He is our managing broker of our colorado region based in aspen and snowmass. Eda's lived in aspen for twenty eight years in the past president of the aspen. Board builders pass realtor of the year of the aspen border wielders prior to moving to colorado. Ed lived in alaska for fourteen years where he studied anthropology at the university of alaska was a commercial fisherman log. Homes lived off the grid without electricity and running water for ten years. During this time he became involved in raising and racing sled dogs competing twice in the thousand mile ida trod sled dog race and once in the yukon quest at thousand mile race from fairbanks alaska to white horse in the yukon territory. Territory of canada. You may be wondering what racing team of dogs across the wilderness of alaska. Canada has to do with managing a team of real estate brokers. And ed is going to share with us how there are a lot of parallels between the two and how the importance of the dynamics and a dog team in a real estate team are surprisingly similar. So let's give it a nice warm welcome welcome attitude. The friday morning drive is a What have you done are you the world's most interesting man element or what i definitely. They definitely had an interesting past in. was blessed to live in alaska. Which have a lot of fondness for and had some great adventures there and But but before. I dive in I wanted to talk a little bit. About what the genesis was of the idea rod race in in y y it was formed in in goes all the way back. Interestingly enough to one thousand nine hundred eighty five there was a pandemic in nome alaska did syria pandemic in. You got to remember that.
