"The WTO traffic center. Difficult on this Friday afternoon along the Potomac on the George Washington Parkway between the beltway and the key bridge. Southbound, a crash after U.S. park police headquarters along the right side, a work zone before one 23 with only one lane getting by and other works on farther south, southbound past the overlooks, getting by single file slowly. Northbound traffic, heading for the beltway backed up to near one 23. It is Friday traffic is slow there on four 95 at elsewhere, like down at the Wilson bridge, especially on the outer loop. All volume on the beltway at the moment in Virginia. 66 westbound heavy at a Centreville at the western end west of front royal. It is Friday again. Sound found on 17 from Marshall toward warrenton about a mile out from war intended two 11. Caller finding a broken down truck near bland tire wrote arleigh road in the right lane. Arlington boulevard, route 50, westbound into falls church beyond annandale road callers finding the crash on the right side. 95 northbound very long delay is Quantico through Prince William county, near Prince William Parkway, exit one 58. They're in the process of clearing the crash that involved the car carrier right this very second, getting the northbound lanes of 95 open, but they've been blocked for well more than an hour. And so it will take a while to recover if you're northbound on 95 southbound slow through Quantico. That's Friday traffic. Let's go to Maryland route 50 from northeast to the eastern shore. The crash eastbound in landover before two O two blocking the left lane. Then heavy eastbound from sandy point to get onto the eastbound span of the bay bridge. There is one broken down on that span. And it is blocking the right travel lane on the eastbound span of the bay bridge. Volume delays in Maryland on the beltway, two 70 north of Germantown and 95 in the Baltimore Washington park way along with I 97, but without any major incidents reported near and north of the capitol

What Happened With Crypto Over the Weekend?

"So what happened over the weekend? Well, lots happened, but not a lot as well. As far as the market goes, look, we've not really seen too much in the way of anything significant or interesting. We have been seeing more and more frequently a lot of sucking up of, I guess, what you'd say, momentum and also volatility. We've seen very little volatility over the weekends of late, whether that's because we've got more traditional plays in our market now or it's more economic data that's driving it or possibly even the fact that we've just seen a lot of retail participants start to dissipate with this downward market that we've been sort of suffering from all year really. It's been pretty much a 2022 bear market thus far. But yeah, not a great deal of activity. I did my scan with FTX this morning on the YouTube channel. So go and have a look at that, give it a like, subscribe, do all those sorts of things. And look realistically, it was one of the slowest weeks I've seen in a very, very long time. And that doesn't mean we were not able to get in there and find some really good opportunities. If you had a look at my FTX video on again, it's on YouTube, it's never free. If you haven't been there for Friday afternoon skin, you would have seen a number of options that did play out very, very well. Now, we're working down on those 30 minute one hour time frames. And that's sort of the, I think what I'm going to be doing from now on whilst we've got the sideways markets, because the four hour doesn't have any trend at the moment, they're very average looking charts for the most part. is also very confused and not very inspiring. And last week we did get three days where we sold off and it was basically between two of those really, really few days that there was significant profits that were available to be had. I mean, some of those profits were very significant. You're talking, you're talking 15 to one, really, really strong, strong, strong moves.

Rose McGowan Turns on Asia Argento to Seize Control of 'Me Too'

"I don't know how many of you were there during my Facebook Live post. When I beat the world with my breaking story of who dropped a dime, I see argento's fling what the underage costar, Jimmy Bennett, this was on Friday afternoon, but I was a couple hours ahead of the eventual announcement that Rose McGowan's lover, the trans model, rain dove, found it very necessary to take what osia told them in confidence about her fling and the fact that the kid was pushing them for money. Eventually came forward and notified the authorities at the crime had been committed, okay? And this caused osia to go Berserk and call rain dove a monster. But it also did something else. In fact, in what felt like a bunch of chess moves. Rose McGowan went from sort of defending her friend saying be gentle. We don't yet know what happened, et cetera. To all of a sudden, placing argento in CheckMate because rose saw an opportunity to basically expel our gentle from the me too movement. And become the quasi leader during a very crucial time. And at this point in time, especially with argento's sexual thirst, if the movement were a boat, it would have sprung holes and started to take in water. But with argento basically excommunicated for a number of reasons, McGowan and her lover rained dove, they're steering the boat. And what that means for the future of the movement? We're going to find out.

Abortion ruling prompts variety of reactions from states

"Louisiana has reinstated its abortion ban I'm Lisa dwyer with the latest For weeks access to abortion in Louisiana has been flickering with the state's three clinics relying on rulings and temporary restraining orders that allowed them to continue operations but procedures came to a screeching halt Friday afternoon after an appeals court ruled in favor of Louisiana attorney general Jeff Landry The court ordered that Landry be allowed to enforce the ban while ongoing legal challenges play out in court The clinics are still open however but staff members are calling patients to notify them of the

"Election Friday since hang on I'm getting to it Friday afternoon the committee posted a damning January 3rd text to Mark Meadows which they say reads I have details on the call that Navarro helped convene to delay certification including that the president participated Okay that seems like a big deal But I can't tell anymore I bombed shelf fatigue Right I can't tell from my from my All right stop it Hurts Jamie ruskin again They shut down the counting of Electoral College votes for the first time in American history Didn't even happen when Lincoln took the presidency in 1861 Okay so there was that violent instruction but then there was an attempt at an inside coup with the political scientist called a self coup not a coup against a president but a coup that's orchestrated by the president against the constitutional system And what we're looking for is the connections between the inside political coup and the violent insurrection And I do feel confident we're going to be able to tell that story Yes that's what glad Kirsten told us Friday Okay One more Jamie Raskin I think that hearing should be an early May That's what I'm hoping for Obviously we're up against a lot of obstruction Now this week we voted to bring contempt citations against Dan's and Peter Navarro Right The social media guy for him and Peter Navarro was the trade adviser who for some reason was off involving himself and insurrectionary coup plotting activities Those guys are claiming executive privilege which is absurd And that vote is going to be happening this week We hope so Yes Okay So there.

Caller: Biden Said We've Never Lived up to Our American Ideals

"Out of Biden's mouth on Friday afternoon statement, which was brief, but way, way more important to my mind than any kind of regime change message. I believe he was speaking to the troops. It was one of the, one of the international events, obviously open to all the ears of the world, everybody watching. He was courting one of our founding documents about all men created equal. Right. And that was their creator, blah, blah, blah. She sometimes calls the thing. The thing. And he said, he said, so although we've never lived up to that ideal, but you know, maybe in the future going forward, we'll be able to. I'm paraphrasing. I heard it briefly, but we're once again a shocking thing out of his mouth. I hope you can find it. We'll look it up. We're going to look it up right now. I appreciate the heads up.

You did not know the owner of car surfs previously. I did not. Was he being nice to you guys? Was he happy you were there? Was he mad at you for being there? Describe it. He was happy we were there. And you heard testimony that you owners, I believe that was Friday afternoon. I did. And did they give you permission to be there? They did. And the other individuals in this photograph, some of whom have testified in this trial. Ten minutes before this photograph was taken. Did you know any of them? I did not. Did you ever spoke into any of them? No. And when you were there, what was the idea? Was there a plan? What was going to happen? Yes, the plan was to I went down there to provide first aid. I also, I brought my orange first aid kit, the fanny pack, and I also brought my pelican box which was filled with first stage stuff. By my feet to provide first aid. The orange box by your feet you referred to as a pelican body? Yes. Did you have that before the 25th? Yes. Was it stock? Yes. With things that you would bought and brought? Yes. Nope. All right, we lost the feed there. We'll pick it up where we left off. It's got your reaction to this testimony. Miami Dolphins WR Will Fuller to Miss Buffalo Bills Game With Personal Issue

"Breaking news out of miami gardens. The miami dolphins will be without wide receiver willful or for sunday's matchup versus the buffalo bills. The team is calling it. A personal issue and brian flora's even when as far to say there was a possibility for may not suit up the rest of the season. Obviously a lot of unknowns. But what were your thoughts. Jake when you first heard this friday afternoon. Josh first and foremost i mean the seed blake first weekend forever where the dolphins were gonna have a completely clean injury report willful or was the only one who wasn't listed as a full participant in practice on both thursday and friday. But just i do have to say. I think we're kind of over-reacting about this. A little bit will fuller was in the building wednesday. I believe he was actually in the building thursday as well. I'm concerned for some things are bigger than football. I don't necessarily know. I mean ryan floors declined to say preston. Williams who is fully active is going to be playing on sunday. So i think that's more displays being bryant floors as much as odd. This is something that's gonna completely ruin season. I hope that isn't the case. I hope everything is all right for him and you know. We can't really speculate on too much by terms of what's happening on the field. It's gotta be a little disappointing to not see him out

Dallas Cowboys Starting Tackle La'El Collins Suspended 5 Games

"Lyle collins suspension. Which for those of you. That have not heard yet. Which i'm sure you have but Friday afternoon it was announced that he was getting a five game suspension for violation of the substance abuse policy There's nothing on the books in the nfl drug policy that says a substance abuse issue is a five game penalty. There is a for the second time you're punished for methamphetamines. Or amphetamines and adderall. And diuretics and things like that That is a five game suspension. So i don't know if there's some somehow taking that as precedents and applying it lyle's case and somehow It's still murky as to what exactly. He was in the drug program for There was a report on sl from jason lockenfora that he's been tested ten times a month for the last eighteen months which that's not totally unusual. I know there have been players before that have been tested with that. Frequency randy gregory had talked about that When he came back so it's it's not totally unheard of for that to happen. But i don't know why lyle would. It have been in the program but missing a test missing. These tests are refusing member. Whatever the story is because apparently it was not a failed test. Missing these tests would result in this suspension. Only if he had already been on the program. So something's off here where we're missing a lot of details here and hopefully we can get some more clarity about it But as it stands now we don't know exactly what he's in the program for. There's lyles disputing the word. Representation is disputing the refusal to take the tests and and they're in this appeal process. They've already appealed apparently and it was rejected but they feel like the appeal process has not been exhausted. And so that's part of where this tension is coming from. Mike mccarthy didn't have any other comments on it he just said they were not surprised suspension. So this is something. That's been brewing. It's been something that's been out there. And that the cowboys have been aware of

"friday afternoon" Discussed on WCPT 820

"On this beautiful Friday afternoon. Get ready for the weekend. Just another 40 minutes or so. After 4 30. We're going to be talking to you about your memories from 9 11. I can't believe it was 20 years ago tomorrow 773763 92 78 is our number, but First of all wanted to touch base and say hello to our friend, director of labor standards for the city of Chicago and the Fox. It's not every day that you get to talk to the director of labor standards for the city and the so thank you so much for being with us today. Well, thank you, Andrea. I'm really excited to talk about all the good work we've done for workers in video. Chicago. Absolutely. That's you know, that's why I wanted to start. I want to talk. First of all before we get into the restitution, the $935,000 in restitution for city workers. One was at the center of the Alderman Burke scandal, but When I say labour standards I know I know what you do. And you know what you do, but for some people, they don't know what you do. So tell us a little bit about labour labour standards for the city of Chicago. And what you do is the director Andy. Absolutely So in 2019, the mayor of Chicago, they like joy stood up and office of Labor Standard and the department of Business appears and consumer protection and at that time we were charged to me. Enforcing minimum wage. The minimum wage in the city of Chicago paid sick leave so that workers cruel and earned sick time off and then later on, we launched something called the Fair Work record Me, which feels with schedules for workers and seven industries and subsequent to that we passed the vaccine in Tiger Tally Ation Ordinance. And Covid 19 anti Retaliation Ordinance in recently passed, um, hotel worker right the return ordinance, so it's really labor protections. Very low wage workers generally vulnerable workers who are not in unions who are employees as opposed independent contractors. Absolutely. You were at the forefront of all of the shied this strong initiatives to which mayor life what had supported Correct, So she best strong. We came out and said, You know, we need to do more for workers for it An economic recovery. On the one hand, we wanted to support the economic recovery without book things. Business, but we can't do it on the back of the workers. So we passed all new wage theft pregnant. That's really the final and most recent one the way stepped ordinance for unsavory actors that want to take away waited. Some workers not pay them, not give them benefit. Uh, change their wages. Um and we also expanded sick leave so Even the leading change the amount of hours of work crude for workers. But we did change somebody uses to include, um some of the happening against covid and pandemics and you might be. It's either a family member. You have to stay home with your schools, Colleges, the quarantine, isolate or the order by treating medical provider to stay at home. And if they were mental health issues that you might need to stay home for that would be included in the definition of, um, sickness. So many workers and it's unfortunate Andy don't realize they do have rights, you know, and they are owed the most basic basic things like sick time or family. Leave whatever it might be. And the steps that you certainly just blew my mind with regard to the first ever. The wage theft ordinance that you were talking about. 146,000 plus workers in Chicago experience at least one pay based violation every week. That's a lot It's shocking Mhm, the those people trying to earn a living wage and we were talking about essential frontline workers. Domestic workers fast food workers, especially for workers, frontline, low wage industries, and it achieved community different high $7.3 million per week and stolen wages on the face Normal wages. It's not just that they don't pay them if they don't came over time, or they show them on checks, or we don't cases where they take my work, 40 hours and baby 30 or some businesses charged people these uniforms and certainly those things all kind of add up to. You know the business recovering on the back for workers, and we want business to recover. We want to support all the small businesses all the moment. That's all over the city, and they've been But we also want to protect prison anyway. Yeah, and another way of doing that, too, is the enhanced minimum wage provisions and the domestic worker protections and this is again focusing on a lot of the jobs that you were just referring to anti a number of minimum wage in domestic worker protections, and these have been recently passed by the city of Chicago or by the City Council. And again, I don't think so. A lot of workers even know that these have been passed and they do have rights when it comes to sick time or you know to be getting to be paid minimum wage. It's so true, Um, you know, for employees that are getting a business 21 or more employees, they should be making $15 an hour if you work in a place in it, 4 to 22 $14 an hour, But you know what we've seen over time is that through the extensive outreach that we've done, and through those two big cases We've worked on like the claims in the complaint has begun to come into the office to the point where we have more than enough work to do. Found it just it just goes to show you like If you really dig in and develop a trust relationship and the small communities where this is happening, people are going to say You know what?.

And J. Reynolds and Alex Ellis all shot four under par. 67 Greg Smith, a great listener to this radio show on radio station, fired a three under par 68. Greg would have been four under par. But he hit his drive on number 18 slightly to the right ATM. Uni and his ball was lodged in a route and he had to rely on a route hit it out, and he made bogey. But again, Austin former shot a 64 today, but a lot of guys on his he a lot of low score. I am I am good at 18 at Alliance. Yeah, It's a good hole driven that green so many times. Yeah, Yeah. Now I'm are usually already over 100 by the time I get there, but, man, I play 18 good. I've driven that whole once, but it's just go and play that whole. It's a tricky little hole. Also today, they're playing in Detroit at the Rocket mortgage tournament. Bo Hustler is tied for 13th Place continue to play well. Cramer. I believe he's one under for the tournament. That's probably not good enough. Not good enough, right? Um, he's denied requests to speak to the media for two straight days now. You know, you're always, you know, Standing for the dude. Do you like Bryce and the shambo? Because I've started this. I'm full on team captain. In this one. And she did the best that she could in that situation where she was panicked and didn't wanna make. It seem like she was afraid and calling people. Because you're all alone there. It's usually a busy trail but there was nobody else was there. So what are you going to do that. Kind of burst. A bubble for me in that like no one's on facebook. No one's on social media on a friday after lunch you know. They're all in their own thing. And you're you pay a lot of attention to statistics so you probably had statistics. Said they weren't. "Six on this Friday afternoon, and you are listening to member supported KCRW. This is all things considered from NPR News. I'm Audie Cornish from Ari Shapiro. President Biden has been trying to convince Republicans to back his big infrastructure plan. There has been some interest, but Republicans have balked at the $2 trillion price tag. Today. White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Biden is dropping his asking bid a reasonable counter offer that reduces the size of the package from 2.25 trillion in additional investment to 1.7. Trillion, and in our view, this is the art of seeking common ground. But Republicans are already pushing back and prospects for a bipartisan deal may be fading. NPR White House correspondent Aisha Roscoe joins us now. Hi, Aisha. Hello. So how does this smaller proposal compared to what Republicans had said they're willing to support S O. This proposal is less than what it was now about $550 billion less than the first offer from the White House. But that's still a lot more than what Republicans have said they're willing to pay. There's been a group of Republican senators lead by Shelley Moore capital that have been in talks with the White House. They offered a plan that was worth about $568 billion in total, so there's still about a trillion dollars difference between them. Well, what is the White House say the president is willing to let go off. So this is the plan that Biden has said is needed to help the economy rebuild after the recession caused by the pandemic, And it's part of this broad push that he's promised to change the U. S. Economy Create jobs address climate change Changes today essentially bull down to removing or cutting down spending areas that have drawn bipartisan support. So Biden is taking research and development out of this package and then cutting down on proposed calls for investments and roads, bridges and broadband. But the plan's still includes a lot of measures that Republicans found problematic for an infrastructure bill like modernizing V a hospitals or investing in care for the elder Really? And and Biden rejects the Republican proposals to pay for this, which with user fees or gas taxes, eh? So he rejects that out, right? Now, with the sides so far apart. Still, what are the chances that this bill will get past? The fact that the proposals are still so far apart is definitely a sign that Democrats may need to pursue the process known as reconciliation to get this done, But then they would still need all 50 Democrats to support the bill, and this is reminiscent of what happened last time on the covert aid package. The White House said they wanted a bipartisan deal They invited Republicans to negotiate. But then they said, we're just too far apart will do this by reconciliation. The problem is biting may not have all Democrats lined up for this approach. To moderate senators have said they want a bipartisan support. West Virginia's Joe Manchin and Arizona's Kristen sent Kristen Cinema. They don't want a massive bill don't do reconciliation without any Republicans. What has the Republican reaction been? Is there any chance of some might come on board? Well, so, uh, Republican senators, including Senator Capital said that this is there still vast differences between the parties and that they actually seem further part now than they were before the Counter offer, but they're not shutting the door to further negotiations. They say they're they're still willing to talk and engage with the administration on this White House correspondent Isha Roscoe. Thanks a lot. Thank you. The hedge fund. Alden Global Capital, is known to strike fear in the hearts of journalists and has a track record of buying up newspapers and slashing their newsrooms in search of profits. Today, shareholders at one of the largest remaining newspaper chains voted to sell to Alden. It's about to become the sole owner of Tribune Publishing, which includes Chicago Tribune, the Baltimore Sun and many others for more. We're joined by NPR media correspondent David Folkenflik. David Welcome back. Hey, Audie. Thanks. So the news here the shareholders voted to sell. What do you know about how they reached that point? Well, this was a company designed to be sold. At some point, it was split off from its more profitable TV operations. Shareholders were offered what's called a premium that is more than what their shares were worth before, Alden said. Hey, we want to buy the whole thing and shareholders approved that. There was little wrinkle today that the largest shareholder other than Alden is a guy named Patrick soon, Sean. He owns the L A Times. On, his spokeswoman put out statements saying he had stained from the vote, which sounded as though it might have blocked all them from voting. Actually, what he did was not voted all and essentially affirmatively gave all in the past. They got the company. What did all don't have to say after the vote? Alden's of president. He, Freeman says, you know, they look forward to serving the community is with the public service mission of local news in the Tribune's markets, and that they hope to find a sustainable operating future for its newspapers. That, of course, is a reference to profit. What happens next at the Chicago Tribune and other papers in this chain given you know what we know about all this history. Well, you know the phrase you hope for the best you prepare for the worst. I think mostly I'm hearing from a lot of folks attribute properties they're preparing for the worst lot of union activism has been stirred up in recent months as the result of Alton's bid. And so they're saying they're going to dig in. They've been activated, essentially, and they're going to fight significant costs. But, you know, Alden has a history of not just cutting newsrooms but cutting it again and again and again, selling off whatever assets they can for for the value, particularly real estate. There's not a lot of that left in the Tribune chain. But where there is Alden is likely to identify that. I think that's a source of real concern not only for journalists, but the communities they serve. On by the way, this Maryland entrepreneur who's involved in this can you give us the back story? Well, look, there's a guy named Stuart, Panama Hotel magnate who tried to launch a rival bid. He originally was bidding for the Baltimore Sun part of the chain. And then he said he wanted the whole thing. He fell short because they couldn't get somebody to step forward in Chicago the way they did not only in Baltimore but in markets like Allentown P. A Hartford in South Florida, places where people came forward with more of a sense of a public mission. Adam says he's still going to try to get the son and if he can't he like to create a major digital start up a new start up in Baltimore to try to compete with the sun if it remains owned by a by the folks at all than themselves. If it David before I let you go. Why does this matter in the grand scheme of things, I mean, aren't the days of kind of alone wealthy publisher long time over in the news business? News businesses is been severely hurting financially. But you know, these papers are still profitable than making about a 10 to 13% profit margin. And even though greatly diminished, they hold people accountable. They look at public officials records, they get them tossed out of office. At times they're able to check major corporate actors were doing bad deeds. And if you don't have at least some sort of core, a critical mass Of people not only enough people but given time to do reporting with the skill set to do it and editors, their sophisticated to help them do that reporting it goes away and we lose a sense not only of what people are doing in our name, but our sense of what our communities are like, right around us. That's the threat. That's NPR's David Folkenflik. Thank you for this analysis. You bet. Conservative lawmakers in Idaho and Montana are going after wolves in those states. New laws call for killing more than 1000 wolves and paying people to shoot them to Boise State Public Radio's Troy copy says the laws passed despite objections from local wildlife managers. 25 years ago, federal wildlife officials reintroduced wolves to Idaho. They did well enough that 10 years ago, the animal came off the endangered species list..

"35 minutes after two o'clock on a Friday afternoon Beautiful day here in these day capital The man whose job it is to market, the state capital to people outside of New Mexico, outside the United States and inside to Mexico. Come to Santa Fe. Spend your money Executive Director Church in Santa Fe. Randy Randall joins us now. In a while, Mr Randall, how you been? Sure has. I've been fine. Richard. Not what I hear. How have you really been? Better than tourism deader than tourism. I promise you Okay, Um Hand, you guys they're still open, though still slugging away, right? Well, we are. There's some people that are still coming into the state. And what's kind of interesting is the Hotels were just You know, way way down in December. Uhm they ran what 24% occupancy. Vs 56 the year before. But short term rentals. We're only down by one point. They ran 30% in 2019 year 2019 and they ran 29% in 20,020 soaked. You know, there are still people coming. If you're gonna have to quarantine for a little while they like a little extra space. You're gonna have to have to go food from a restaurant. Nice to have a dining room or a kitchen to read it so Um, there are there are a few a few bright spots. All right, Let's talk about the future. Near term, mid term long term of the future of our of our big advance. We're talking, of course, the festivals and mean Mark in Spanish market and international folk art market. We're talking about the opera. What about big events? What do we know? What are we planning? And how? Who we planning a whip? The future, of course, is all dependent upon How Much testing we do and if our infection rate gets below 5%, we can start opening up our Restaurants, which then will support the hotels. And the future is, um Determined by how well we do in our vaccine, you know, right now, I guess we're Over 20% vaccinated as a city or county, which is terrific. Um, whereas the what the state is a little over 10% so Um you know how well we do with those things are going to dictate a lot of the future. But I think the events through the summer are still thinking they're going to have to do some sort of hybrid. Type event. If they in fact are able to produce their event. Um We a request for at least outdoor event. Information has been Submitted to the governor's office through the Economic Recovery Council by the industry. And, uh, They've been Hold. It probably will have an answer by the end of March, which would Give us enough time for some of the more significant events, too. Get their planning done and give us the chance to market the fact that they are in fact occurring even if it is Perhaps a different, uh, format than they normally are. I know. Folk art market is looking at maybe doing a couple of Concurrent, smaller markets. With time entry time departure, every couple of hours turn over much smaller crowd so that they could socially distance. On In one market to the to the second market in two different locations. So There's a lot of creative thinking going on which is great. You know. Last year we were all kind of Caught flat footed was this totally shot? We were in shock. Absolute the right word and You know, in April, I was talking about the fact that you know, we'd be back in business by August, and I was only a year off. So, um You know, it could be a weatherman. Uh, I don't think any of us fully understood the impact of What was coming so Um People are having have had a lot more time to Try to figure this out, but they also it's important we get something's going because these these events need this earned income to keep operating there. All nonprofits and Some of them did had deep bank accounts, and some of them didn't so they need a lot of help you Well, the I mean, the events themselves are one thing. But the people who sell that the events of something entirely different folk art market. Many of the artists to come and sell their artwork, their folk art folk art market, you know, support the town of village, a region and a desperate country, some of the Indian market people that's their entire yearly income. I was just going to say that it's a It's a big part of their annual income. We've also started a thing called Santa Fe Marketplace that we hope Some of these individual vendors, not just stores, but some of these individual bent. Vendors will Register for and put their product on the Santa Fe marketplace. Which allows it to be exposed. On the Internet. "Is for 11. It's a Friday afternoon. We are d nd I'm Jess Tyminski and I am build oil. I'm not sure how to feel about this thing that Pete Genevieve's wrote. For NJ dot com. Um, does a ton of food stuff, and he wrote this piece because the Super Bowl New Jersey's 45 best wings, just in time for the 2021 Super Bowl. And he points out the stats. He, uh he says 1.5 billion Wings billion will be consumed on Super Bowl Sunday. He says. How it's hard to imagine one without the other. Hard to imagine the Super Bowl without wings. Why Screw wings. There was a time. Not all that terribly long ago. I mean, in our lifetimes when wings were considered cast offs of the chicken people didn't want wings. They would get rid of them. I say we get back to them. And then all of a sudden, somebody figured out in Buffalo that Hey, if you put some hot sauce on, people will eat him. And all of a sudden wings became a thing. Well, you know what people are just gullible then. I've said this before I'm saying it again Wing. A wing is a wing. There's not really much difference between a wing. Hey, hey, points out here. That the average American goes through 18,000 wings in his or her lifetime. I did. No, I'm nowhere near that. Just not a big wing person. And but but see. So, like I'm reading this and getting annoyed because you know how you feel about wings, right? You feel the wing of the wing. Right. Like I'm not saying I've never had one. I'm not going to sit around thinking about what's the leaders Wing recipe O You know, Ted, he makes a really good wings. I know he doesn't Ah, wing is away. You don't see a difference. We like honey, mustard and garlic. And but Frank's red hot sauce. Yeah. But any wing with honey mustard will taste like anyone with honey mustard. Any wing with you know Frank's will taste like anyway, Frank. Someone's get fried first, and then they get coated in a nice flower. And maybe some cayenne in there you never. That's a nice story. My wife makes it. Oh, Bill. I'm not saying that that that I'm in the majority here. I know. I know. I'm not So? So I'm reading this and with my with my not hatred for but Disdain. Certainly no, no, It's not the stain. It's my It's my lack of comprehension of the popularity of wings, and I'm getting annoyed with this. But then all of a sudden it takes a turn. And he writes It may be wing heresy. But most bar wings are nothing special. Grouped and dunked with the same tired buffalo Wing sauce nine times out of 10. I already know what they're going to taste like, and I'm like, Yes. Wait a minute. So first you're extolling the virtue of wings on the Super Bowl weekend. Now all of a sudden, you're singing my song. It's like, Yeah, but it isn't one way doesn't want them to be. The wing is when he wants creativity. You're right. And then that's where it goes back because he because be gender these then and he doesn't rank these. By the way these air, not ranked as far as 45 through, you know, the absolute best. But he just picks 45 of the best right in his opinion. 45 of the best places for wings around New Jersey. Unlike when we talk about best hamburgers or best pizzas, I guarantee you I was not eaten it any of those places. Why? Because I just don't call for wings. Oh, yeah. Um And there was a place Jovi was ranting about today. What was it? Chicken and something Jovi was going on and on about how he thinks he knows what the number one was going to be on this list. And that was before ladies and gentleman Jumbo Trueba. Yeah, I guess I got to do is ask you, you kind of but I forgot you sit over there and make things more difficult, though. Sorry. Okay. What was this place? We have a restaurant, right? It's called chicken or the egg on l b. I beat my son loves that place is the best place. Okay? And you were saying that this is before I realized he didn't. He didn't rank these, but you were thinking chicken or the egg would be number one for wings. And why they're They're huge. Sauces are amazing on you actually get like, so it's the sauce. That's amazing. Not the window. You actually get bang for your buck with the size of the meat. Yeah. Sure it's a wing. It's a wing. All right. Yeah, well, guess what? Not even on the list. Well, they're not even on the list, my friend and you know what There's a wing is a wing. That's why yes, it is true. He's got places here like this is just random. Midland Brew house in Saddle Brook. I don't get to Saddlebrook much corner bar in piles, Grove. I'm not even sure where piles grow visited. You said that? Yeah. Little on the corner bar. Okay. Belmar, Jersey Shore. Barbecued Belmar never had it now. Yeah. He's got here. Um, What the hell is this? T s t BB. Hugh Tst barbecue in Leonardo. Uh, Everything he mentions. I never heard it before. I'm not saying they're bad places. Taphouse, 15 and Jefferson. You could get great wings. They're blah, blah. Why do you care? Because you don't even think that any of them are gonna get it for you. Well, yeah. Okay. Mama. Chicken lady Mama, I'm offering them to you in case you want, okay? Uh, okay. Well, Joe, what do you think? When you think of Super Bowl Sunday's if you're gonna do a house party or something like that? What? What do you think of as the best Super Bowl food? Whether it's stuff that you're making? Wait, What Did you.

"Welcome back. It is Friday afternoon show I'm Dan O'Donnell. In this week. This actually the first Friday afternoon show I've done since October. Maybe I got lucky because the two days I was supposed to do my Friday. We're the day after Thanksgiving. Company, Holiday and Christmas Day. So Hey, I got a two month reprieve. No, I'm it's not even a reprieve with with all of the goings on in the world today. I honestly I I always talk about How in the morning I'm on from 9 to 11 am I could truthfully without even breaking a sweat Go for four hours every day. I did. Gotta figure out a way to get that extra hour. In any event, four o'clock word in the cold, Hard cash contest is money M o n u Y you've got until 4 55 to text the word money to 202 100. You could win $1000 in cash instantly. You will get a tax conforming entry. Plus I heart radio information, standard data and message rates apply in this nationwide. Contest. You know who Hank Johnson is? Congressman Georgia But 10 years ago, he was the butt of pretty much every joke imaginable. This was back when we're allowed to laugh at Democrats those healthy on days, he actually said during a congressional hearing. About deploying more troops to the base in Guam. Whether the sudden influx of 5000 more Marines Would cause the island to tip over. Because it would be so unbalanced. He really honestly said that I can't even do it. Justice! How stupid That sounded so a couple days, so it was. Well, I'm just very, very good at deadpan humor. And you all just you didn't get my joke. No. Sure sounded like you were worried about the island tipping over there, buddy. Well, Hank Johnson doesn't understand how islands work. But he does understand how power works. In a very chilling interview he gave Ana Sirius XM Radio show earlier this week. Johnson actually talked about systemically. Getting rid Not just Trump But anyone who dares to support him. Listen to that. We've got to make sure that those who come after Donald Trump know that they will not be allowed to get away with. What Donald Trump did that they would be held accountable. They will be treated. Yes, like Negroes. They will be perp walked to the jail hot hands handcuffed, not in front of him, but behind them. And they will be booked, fingerprinted. Have to make fun and have to hire a lawyer just like everybody else and go through the system. System of feast on on black folks, But for once, it needs to turn its attention to, uh you know what this man has done. That's what this is all about. That's why the House is preparing to draft articles of impeachment against Donald Trump. Literally. Eight days before he leaves office. They are honestly going to try. Hold it Impeachment trial in the course of like four days to try to get him out, And the reason for this is because they're going to try to literally permanently. What they're trying to do is take him out. Because the thing they're scared most of his Donald Trump running for president again in 2024, That, incidentally, is what all of this removal from social media and all of this nonsense is really all about. Trump is so dangerous because Trump poses a threat an ongoing threat to Democrats. Political power. This is why Hank Johnson is talking about not just trump, but everyone who comes after Trump. Coincidentally enough, the people he mentioned by name Were Josh Holly and Ted Cruz. Those are two of the leading presidential contenders in 2024. Those are two of the leading voices in conservatism. Just yesterday, Josh Holly had his book deal canceled by Simon and Schuster. Why? Because every presidential candidate has to write a book. I don't know. Barack Obama wrote like five autobiographies, and he's got like a 10 part series. When all is said and done. Will there be more Star Wars, movies or books by Barack Obama about Barack Obama? It's tough, isn't it? Yeah, I'm gonna go books about Barack Obama written by Barack Obama. So Hank Johnson is talking about clearing the field of potential threats now. If Trump is a violent insurrectionist. Why is why is everybody forgotten? The name Cynthia Johnson. State senator from the state of Michigan is just a warning to you, Trumpers. Yeah. Careful, walk.

"We're back. It's the hot stones sideshow on Chiron. Tom Douglas, chef Terry's lazy but taking another day off here we are going to jump right into our favorite dishes from 2020. And why don't we start with Terry? Terry's texted you a few of his Thoughts on 2020. What did you hear from him? It's true. He has quite the range of food here, Tom. I love his. If I could only I could read it in his beloved accent. But he one of his favorite bites of 2020 was Vegemite. In Australia, Melbourne. He went too soon. The restaurant, which was in the best restaurant he dined in in Australia. He was back there in February before we all closed down and had a veggie, my crispy cake that was absolutely delicious. It was the first time that he tried it, and he said he was not disappointed. So that was a top on that would be his chef. Teri's favorite bite, But whatever you might say, I didn't have it. He did say, you know, after, he said, the most surprising for him. Only because he does not normally eat pizza was when serious. Pi re opened across the street from Andhra here at serious Pie downtown. He went on a Friday afternoon He went four Fridays in a row, he said, eating pizza like a child who had never had it before, but suddenly fell in love with a dish so surprising but the experience of rediscovering how those pies are so well executed. And reminding me of what bad pizza is, but rather the craftsmanship when when well done can create, And he said, you should be very proud Tom of the team. He absolutely loves serious pie and his last favorite bite. He forgot to mention he wanted to meet it. Make sure that he gave a shout out to his beloved wife, Cathy, her chocolate chip cookies. Fresh 10 minutes out of the oven, he says Ho ho! Oh, he says, the cookies have oats, raisins, cocaina and chocolate chips. And it is his favorite bite. And I'm sure he's probably eating a couple right now, if I'm mistaken, Jump s Oh, we miss you Teary. We're glad that you were able to send in your favorite bites. Tom. What do you miss? Well, I decided I didn't want to, like, Get into you know the my favorite bites of to go food for the last month, So I just thought I would say talk about as we kind of go through this. My favorite bites from our own joints that have been closed for nine months. Some never to return, like Cuoco and brave Horse Tavern are closed for good. On did some that hopefully will return in the spring when there's new business like the Carlyle Room across from the Paramount Theater. It doesn't make a ton of sense open that until the theaters can be open. Yeah, because that was our big business driver there on then, Of course, that is maybe not until the tourism happens again. Down the pike Place market we've got Some A couple of top things from ad is on the menu at sea town because we combined all three of those restaurants s O. Let me start. Let's say at the Carlyle Room. And, um, this is going to sound weird, but I have it every time I went there, because it's trashy. Good. And if you know, trashy, good. That's my highest compliment. So the chips and dip my favorite years to that ranch and the ranch dressing does his ranch is Top five favorite things I've had in a long, really, that is, I thought I was gonna be like left out of the room there, But homemade potato chips grew really good ranch and I love crudities. I love carrot sticks and celery sticks, And there's just something natural and organic about the whole thing that I find with my whiskey or my martini. It is the perfect snack for me. I love that. So there's the Carlyle Room. Let's come right down the hill here to say Lola, which is been closed now for nine months and the course I had breakfast there many times before the radio show before we taped and I missed our little maple pork sausages in our little goat cheese omelet with herbs. So good. Those are a couple of things in 2021 that I hope will return. But you know, the hotel here is still closed. Nine months later, this hotel of the Andre is still closed. We're here when we tape our show here in the hot stove. We are by ourselves in this entire 120 room. Hotel s so it's kind of crazy. It's true. I think Lowe is probably one of the most email we get in terms of what people missing the breakfast items for sure. I think that just great standard. Well done Breakfast spot for downtown. It was always bustling, which is fussy. And, Yeah, it was perfect because it was just the perfect delicious food. The Lola Pancakes. I think we're most Favorite for month, much of the e mails that we were going well, one of the things you know Amy, who your co producer here of this radio show, One of the things I have on my list for her is to start looking at park lips for this spring air on Fourth Avenue. For to try and get some of our restaurants open because my gut instinct is we're not gonna be open indoors for quite a while. Yeah, maybe till April or may. That's just my instinct. I have no idea. No inside information, So, Yeah, I love that whether or not the Dahlia reopens. Questionable. can't gotta keep You rolling. know, Right, that's Madeline, a big restaurant, Right. and there's I Who just don't do we see have the need up for next? 150 I Brian seat restaurant hears from right the fat now, cork. but I Breiman could see lettuce. it turning Yeah, into the like Dahlia the lettuce Bakery. or Molina's And Brian. when I think about what I miss most Molina's, of the Dahlia Bakery but I've been called Miletic There's one my cookie whole life. that I really love.
