If You Think the US Is Conservative Now, Imagine a Free Speech Twitter
"If you think this country is somewhat conservative now, imagine if we'll be able to speak freely online. I want you to imagine something. So a lot of us were really upset about how unfree America has become the last couple of years. Lockdowns, mask mandates, vaccine mandates. Imagine if Twitter would have allowed a robust discussion, an Ivermectin hydroxychloroquine, azithromycin, early interventions. I want you to imagine that. Imagine if Elon will allow that, according to his own position. In fact, he said that. That means the next time a tyrant rears his head and tries to do something irrational, Twitter can now be an open market for ideas to compete, and guess what? We're okay with that because our ideas are going to win. We know that. That's why we're unafraid. To them, they know their ideas do not win when they are cross examined. They know their ideas fall apart, so they must be able to shut us up, which is why they're reacting the way they are, but also this is the greatest show on earth what you're seeing happen with Elon. And people say Charlie does it even, does he even realize what he's doing and all this? Maybe not. If you know anything, he's admitted he has Asperger's. He admitted he's like, he just focuses on something and he doesn't get off of it. And I only say that because I don't think he cares.
The Slippery Slope of the Transgender Rights Issue
"You mentioned during the pandemic that suddenly parents got an opportunity via Zoom to look into really what their child was because now instead of asking the teacher they're turning to mom and dad and asking these questions and then we saw the transgender movement in what they were doing with our athletes of saying wait a minute the guy can compete against a girl and just the total unfairness of that lack of justice in that has been the thing that has caused the American people to rise up, moms and dads to say, no, wait a minute. You're not going to do that to my kid. So I think again, that they overplayed their hand in interjected that now into the workplace. Yeah, I mean, look, I always say this before I go into the trans issue. I don't recognize a lot of this nonsense around this issue. But I want the best for all people. We're all made in the image of God. I want nothing more than people that are living under this delusion internally to try to find Jesus Christ and realize that they are living under a delusion. And they need grace and compassion. However, like we could sort that out, we could have your own opinions on that. I'm not going to call you by your pronouns. If I see something different, like I'm not going to play that game. So however, I will say this though, regardless of all of that, the whole kind of bargain around the trans thing was supposed to be like, let us live our life and you live yours and we'll leave each other alone, right? That was kind of the whole thing. And so the personal opinions aside, it kind of sounded fair. Like, okay, you could obviously wear a dress in your own home, you could wear a dress publicly. We're not going to stop you, whatever, okay? That was kind of the way. Now, how naive, right? We were so naive to believe that all of a sudden this was going to be the end of it. And so what happens next? Will you have the 462nd best swimmer in the country who's a man who transitions to be a woman and then wins the NCAA championship, therefore disenfranchising the other women in the NCAA championship, right? And we're supposed to put up with this. And so someone asked me, well, Charlie, what do you think the solution to that is? Well, I think the solution is pretty simple, right? Which is, you know, make the person compete against their own biological sex. He could think he's a woman all day long, but you still got to compete against men like your own delusion is not my problem, right?
Charlie Explains Gov. Ron DeSantis' Parental Rights Bill in Florida
"Wonderful Ron DeSantis. I mean, how great is Ron DeSantis, by the way? Isn't he amazing? He's just incredible. He passes like the most boring Bill ever, like super boring. Like you ask 99% of people in Fresno, they'd be like, why is this even controversial? Like, get away from me. Like, of course, obviously. Which is super simple, right? Like 5 seconds, 7 year olds should not be taught about transgenderism or sexual matters. Okay, that's it. Should not be taught about gender. You could read the bill yourself at 7 pages, and then the other part is that if health treatment is given to kids, parents have to be notified, okay? That's it. And so it was called the parental rights and education bill. And so this passes and Disney acted acted as if that somehow this was like a Jim Crow two against trans people or whatever. And they start running these advertisements, like this is a war on trans people. Excuse me, how is not teaching 5 year olds about these very and albeit confusing and highly politicized radical matters, an attack on trans people. And then what was amazing is you saw so many teachers come out and be like, I will not know how to teach my kindergartners anymore about math. That tells me a lot about what you were actually doing in math class. If you're not allowed to talk about anyway, I don't even want to talk about it in public. It's really disgusting, honestly. That's what we used to have words for people like this and that you could fill them in. It's not right. And so, but then most Americans look at this and you feel as if you feel like you're losing your mind at times and you watch the news. It's okay, it's actually part of the design. They want you to feel that way. You're like, wait a second. There's nothing controversial about this. Like 5, 6 and 7 year olds deserve to be protected in their innocent state. I'm not going to apologize for that, then Disney does this whole thing where they're like threatening against the governor of governor Florida. And honestly, Ron DeSantis responded correctly. He told me to cut it out. They didn't. He told him to cut it out again. He didn't. And so he treated Disney like a child because Disney doesn't care about children anymore. He said, okay, what do you do when a child misbehaves after the first couple of times? You punish him put in time out. And he said, okay, Disney, you're losing your $200 million a year tax bonus from the special carve out from the people of Florida like, okay, you're now going to go after the children of Florida and act as if we're the enemies.
There Is So Much Freedom and Peace in Speaking Your Mind
"Have you found that when you step across that line when again that fear is there? I don't want to be identified this. I don't want to be called that way. But once you step across that line, step through that barrier, you suddenly realize it's not what they said it was going to be and you find that there is allies on the other side. They're saying, oh, I'm finally glad somebody else stood up and said what is truth. Yes, it's total freedom. I do three podcasts today, three hours of radio a day. Travel in the country always. And I know a lot of other people in media and they work for certain organizations and they're always reaching out like wow Charlie, like you really speak your mind. I say, yeah, because I don't have to report to somebody if I say something wrong. I'm not going to have to, you know, if I say something incorrect, I'll be the first one to apologize to you. But if I say something true and you don't like it, all right, whatever, there's a sense of freedom and a sense of peace that I want for all of you in your life where all of a sudden you do not care about what they could do to you. And that's not to say that you might not be in that situation right now. I understand that. There might be an employer, there might be somebody that might be threatening. But I do not believe that's how God actually wants you to live his life. You know, the story of the Old Testament largely is God giving abundant grace and delivering God's chosen people from tyranny into freedom, even though they didn't deserve
We're in the Early Stages of a Great Citizen Rising Movement
"You're just beginning to see the early stages of what I believe will be a first a couple year than a multi decade citizen rising movement where all of a sudden the game gets changed permanently, and what a time to be alive. We should still thankful that we get to live through this. And it's the things that it's a thing that historians will write about for generations to come. So what were some of the catalysts that you think that brought about this change that motivated what we're seeing everywhere from the entertainment to media? Yeah, so two things. First is the laws of reality. So we as Christians, we believe in the laws of nature and nature's God. It says that in the Declaration of Independence, but we believe in a God of order. We do not believe in a God of chaos, the enemy says chaos and our lord is a God of order. So when an organization or a movement a celebrity decides to sow chaos against order and they institutionalize it, that will not be rewarded by the laws of nature and nature's
Is There Any Hope for California?
"I'm asked all the time. Charlie, do you think there's any hope for California? And my answer is always the same as we have to make our own hope happen. We have to obviously fast and pray for the nation and the land that we're in. But we also have to do things that actually make a substantial difference. No longer be a spectator, but be a participant in that. And in some ways, that is against where a lot of conservatism has been in the recent years where some people think that, hey, we just went a presidential election. I can kind of take it off. And I'm just going to kind of watch the rest on TV. The left is never thought that way. They've been in the trenches. They've been in the schools for a long time. And I'm starting to see a mindset shift. I really am. I'm starting to see after the initial shock that you're not going to get your country back in just 18 months. Now I see conservatives putting their work in boots on. Now I see people that are willing to get into the trenches into the grassroots and say, look, this might take 5, ten, 15, 20, 30, 40 years. But I'm willing to do that because my grandkids are worth it because liberty is worth fighting for.
The Left Tries to Sabotage Charlie's Visit to Cornerstone Church
"The left, they could be tricksters. I'll tell you what. We had 7000 reservations for this event. And you can never tell. Imagine being so such an awful person that you try to take tickets away from other people. Anyway, we are going backstage. You're like, well, we could kind of spend all of our time on how the left tried to derail this event. Because that's what they do. They do tickets to try to prevent other people from common and making it seem as if it's going to be the way it is. Anyway, I said, but you know what? Look at all these amazing people that are here right now. We're going to have a great event. So that's what we're going to do. So we'll see you guys got the intimate seats here. And just think about this now. Think how special you are. Charlie travels all over the country to pack auditoriums so that you got to share him with thousands of people and you get to spend an intimate night with him here. And we said somebody's life tonight is going to change. I know that because the enemy would love to throw division and rancor and all that. So I don't know who you are, but whoever that is, your life is going to change tonight. So you get going. So you're here on purpose. I'll just say that.
How Does Charlie Have So Much Energy?
"Charlie, how and where do you get all this energy to travel over the place and do these events at the same time be married and tend to your marriage and have time to do hillsdale courses? I'm just ashamed of myself and my time management. Thanks so much, shabu. So look, we do a lot and we don't we don't rest a lot. But, you know, we do three hours of radio a day, which translates to three podcasts a day. We do one on Saturday one on Sunday. Just this week, I had an event every single night except Monday. Kris kross in the country, not to mention the work we do at turning point USA. And running that and managing that, we have a great operational team thankfully that we've been able to put there, but also raising the money for turning point and our 250 plus full-time employees. So look, I don't sit still well. There's work to do. I mean, you got to make a decision in your life where you just kind of sit around and hope things get better. You're going to start to do things. And you will live a much more meaningful life if you act. You'll live a much more meaningful life if you figure out the teleological reason for existence, which is just a really fancy, unnecessarily academic way of saying the purpose. What is your purpose? And so we've definitely found ours. And it's a grind sometimes. Travel the country, you're in new places every single day. We're doing one event tonight and then we got the two tomorrow and next week will be in Fresno and we have not we only missed and it was mainly because of a tactic up one hour of radio this week. So we were on the entire week, we also did the event with the great Candace Owens, a university of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and that's coming off of last week where we did Berkeley boulder and Fullerton in a 72 hour window, and only missed one day of radio last week. So you guys helped make all that possible when you get behind our program and you help turning point USA and you help us. You subscribe to the Charlie Kirk, show podcast. Look, we're a podcast of action. And there's radio program of action. There's very few that are like that.
When California Told Mario Murillo to Stop Preaching the Gospel, He Found a Way
"Hey, folks I'm talking to Mario Marlo about everything. We're talking about politics. We're talking about the gospel. You have spent decades doing ministry, and then a few years ago, I guess I think you thought that you were just going to shuffle off to buffalo, retire. I don't know what you thought. Something happened. Can you talk about that? Well, I was told that because of the pandemic, I could impeach the gospel in California. It was the first time, yeah. And so that kind of like was my wake up call. And one day I was sleeping in about middle of the night, I had this experience where I saw a man from Fresno, California, who was the embodiment of what the culture had done to people. He was homeless. He was addicted. He was in agony. And he said these words to me. If you want to, you can come and help me. And what I put together from that, I woke up, I got in the word of God. And I got to Matthew 8 where the leper said to Jesus, if you will, you can heal me. And then the vision of Paul Macedonia, where he said, the man appeared in the vision said, come over and help us. I went to Fresno, brought a tent against every local injunction against meeting, but I felt that God told me to do it. The police were on our side. The mayor of the city sat with me. The owners of the park that we put up our tent in, said, we're going to stand with you in case Sacramento decides to shut you down. But instead of being shut down, thousands came to the tent and were healed and born again
Eric and Mario Murillo Discuss the Problem With Churches Avoiding 'Political' Topics
"What? I just have to speak the truth and I might offend somebody, but things have come to a place where I need to speak truth. And if that offends somebody who voted this way that way, that can't be the final arbiter. It doesn't mean I don't care, but that can no longer be the final arbiter, but for some people that is the final arbiter. When they cross a line into something that might offend a political group, they say, for the cause of the gospel, I won't go there. And what it reminds me of and you just referenced it is bonhoeffer, he saw exactly the same thing in my book I write about how there was some folks that was an American evangelist. He was just a few blocks from where I'm sitting here in Manhattan. Bookman, I can't remember anyway. Right. He was, you know, so obsessed with quote unquote evangelism that he couldn't see the evil in front of his face. He couldn't see that we need to defeat Hitler. We need to do anything we can to defeat him. Not because we don't care about the soul of Hitler. We care about the soul of everyone, but he couldn't see that. And so he was sort of playing patty cake with the Nazis and not understanding that we've crossed a line where we need to fight. You want to talk about souls at stake. You want to talk about lives at stake. That is somehow what is missing today. There are many who still believe there's some safe neutral ground. And you and I and others have said, unfortunately, there isn't. You need to see that. So talk about that because you've been a very rare heroic voice on these things. Well, thank you for the opportunity to clarify something in Fresno. I spoke to a large group of people. The Holy Spirit told me to stand that they were over 50 or 60 pastors in the room. So this recently or years ago this probably one year ago and I asked for a show of hands from the audience. I said, how many of you have had a child suspended from school for wearing a Christian T-shirt? Raise your hand. Hands went up. I said, how many of you have lost your job because someone canceled you through social media talking about your view on abortion or marriage and hands went up? And I said, how many of you are experiencing daily hostility in your job because you witness or you mention that you're Christian and hands went up? Then I looked at the pastors and I said, are you preaching anything to what your people are actually going through? So here is the real problem with the pastors. They have to ask themselves am I obsessed with self preservation and using the excuse that I won't be political. And so when I was attacked and asked, well, Mario, you're nothing but a politician. So I confronted this pastor and I said, why aren't you mentioning abortion or same sex marriage or the policies of the Democrat party, which are clearly against everything that you and I believe, why aren't you speaking? He said, well, I would lose, I would lose
Larry and Tribune Editor Stephanie Finucane Discuss Systemic Racism
"Good morning, mister elder. Morning. Stephanie phonon, I'm the opinion editor at the tribune in San Luis Obispo. And I'm going to return to the topic of systemic racism. On your website, you say it's outrageous that America is being demonized a systemically racist. Yeah, that seems to fly in the face of what we see around us and our reporting. For example, tab Webber just completed a series on redlining in Fresno and how it prevented black Asian and Latino people from buying property and preferred areas. And that has ramifications to this day. A national survey just ranked west Fresno is one of the worst places in the nation for a black person to live. And it was the only place in the west to receive such a bad ranking. How do you respond to that? Well, I'm back in 1991. There was a black Harvard sociologist named Orlando Patterson. He's still there. 1991. And he said, America, despite its flaws, is the least racist majority society in the world provides more opportunities for blacks than any other country in the world, including all of those of Africa. 1997, Time Magazine, CNN, time teamed up, you'll study a black teens and white teams. And they asked them both were the racism was a major problem in America. Again, this is 1997. And both of them said, yes. But then they did something that I rarely seen, any study do. They ask black teens if racism was a big problem, a small problem or no problem in your own daily life. 89% of black teens called racism a small problem or no problem in their own daily life. In fact, more black teens than white team said, failure to take advantage of available opportunities is a bigger problem than racism. I want to repeat that. More black teens and white teens said, and this is pretty much verbatim. Fail I want you to take advantage of available opportunities is a bigger problem than racism in

'Smash and Grab,' a Product of Moral Decay
"The smash and grab craze happening across America. It's just another sign of moral decay. What we're seeing happening all across the country and this really started during Floyd palooza and it's continuing. Is hundreds if not thousands of criminals that go into stores, grab whatever they want and then leave. Now, of course, in San Francisco, they will not prosecute theft unless it's over a certain dollar when I think the dollar amounts like $950. But cut 50, here's a small business owner in Democrat run Oakland, California, saying he might just shut down his business because he says, I can't take this many break ins, go to cut 40. I don't know how many more incidents like this. We can take to keep our doors open. One of the owners of renegade running Victor Diaz is contemplating keeping his doors open for business in Oakland after they were most recently shattered late Sunday Night. And cut 5 a security guard was killed over the weekend. You probably didn't hear about this. As these criminals, these thugs in these vigilantes are just going in and taking whatever they want. This is happening all across the country, by the way. And what happens is a group of 30 or 40 criminals show up to a store and they just flood it and they take what they want and no one dares stop them. Play cut 5. So these gangs of smash and grab thieves raising alarms across the nation, a couple of shops getting hit over the holiday weekend in Fresno, California. It's not just California where it's going on. The organized looting now spreading other parts of the country as well. Also, when I mentioned Kevin ishida, he was a Bay Area security guard who was killed over the weekend during one of these smash and grab deals. So who benefits from this type of anarchy? Remember, that's the most important question that you can ask with any of these things. When things start to unravel and they don't make sense, you need to ask yourself the question who benefits? Well, one more piece of sound cut 9, Fox News report on a Home Depot that was looted for crowbars and mallets. Don't wear everybody. They just want the crowbars because they're going to be building swing sets. That's right. Play cut 9. A group of about 15 to 20 suspects stormed a Home Depot store in Lakewood and stole crowbars, mallets, and sledgehammers before jumping in a bunch of getaway vehicles. Some now fear what those sleeves might plan on doing with those tools. These robberies are leaving many holiday shoppers on edge.

Fresno County Health Officials Seeing an Increase of Covid Cases
"With new covid cases growing across the country, Fresno County health officials say they're noticing a surge in cases and younger populations, according to the data shared by the Health Department. Younger age groups are driving this surge. Now, If we look back to January of this year, when Covid 19 cases were surging people 65 older made up a big chunk of those early cases. Nearly 25%. Now they make up less than 15%. But 18 and younger category has done the opposite. They were at about 15% back in January. Now they make up nearly 20%. This is concerning because the under 18 population is not all eligible to be vaccinated. And so their only protection is the people around them. The Fresno County Department of Public Health is urging people to mask up if you're not vaccinated, the rules really haven't changed. That's Fox 26 news reporter. Shelby brought show,

California Wildfires Have Decimated the Giant Sequoia
"Wave comes amid a drought has dried up vegetation, increasing fire danger. There have been a number of small wildfires around California this week. But thus far, the state has avoided the kind of fierce gusts of wind that drove last year's devastating blazes. Last year's sq. FT. Complex fire in the Southern Sierras scorched more than 176,000 acres and giant Sequoia National Monument and the adjacent Sequoia National Park and now report compiled by National Park Scientists indicates far more of the iconic redwoods may have been killed. Than previously five. Some 30 to 40% of all the giant sequoias within the fires, footprint or incinerated by the severity of the flames. Researches explained that the intensity of their fire was brought on by drought conditions, fire prone undergrowth and a legacy of fire suppression together with climate warming, stressing the entire ecosystem. Ecuadorian files. This report from Fresno. The devastating castle fire in the southern Sierra Nevada last year may have killed between 31% and 42% of all the large giant sequoias in the footprint of that blaze. National Park Service report says that translates into a stunning loss of somewhere between 7500 and 10,600 large giant sequoia trees that are more than four ft. In diameter. That's 10 to 14% of the entire population across their rank along the western slope of the Sierras.

I mean i could go on. What's more he lists. The email and snail mail addresses phone numbers names and like all sorts of personal information for law enforcement officials staff members of the sacramento and the fresno bee. And frankly given everything. I've just listed. I'm kinda surprised he didn't get sued by the fresno pd or either of the publications. But here's the thing. As any conspiracy theorist will tell you if you suspect people in power of being shady. The last thing you wanna do is get on their radar let alone make serious allegations without any legitimate proof to back up your claims on a fucking public forum agreed to say it. I mean you know. Yeah some of the videos. He posted as i mentioned earlier. We're definitely questionable. Especially the one with the minivan. But other videos i mean it could have been totally coincidental or misinterpreted. I mean if you really think the cops are after you you're going to convince yourself that anyone in those videos maybe out to get you or maybe law enforcement or whatever it was. It was all very iffy to me but then again you other other people who watch those videos who were like..

Now let's talk a little bit about the state of john lang's house at the time. "It's a one way street that appears to be heading one way north. So thank you google maps. Because i wasn't sure. I don't know california that well that said i'll be honest while i did see the truck in question. The first time. I kind of thought they were lost. The truck does pull over but added pulls over in front of his next door neighbor's house. And then of moses back on the second appearance like i said is just maybe the truck or a truck that looks like it driving by without slowing down Seeing as how lang street is a one way street that theoretically the driver could be trying to get somewhere and not know his or her way around the one way streets. I know i've had lift drivers run into that problem with the one way streets in my neighborhood and they're using fucking. Gps just thought. Yeah i think a lot of the videos that were posted. You're kind of making a lot of some jains about what's going on. It's not exactly clear. And obviously he was monitoring his house twenty four seven so who knows how many other occasions that he did not post to youtube that he saw this truck or what was going on. I mean there's a lot of room for interpretation so you know if if you want to believe something hard enough you can make anything. Seem like it's in reality when not be The next video that we're gonna be talking about is titled thermal imaging threat and intimidation by fresno law enforcement. And i will say that out of all the videos. This was the most questionable and the most bizarre and this one actually looks like it could have been someone who was purposely recording his house. But i'm gonna read the caption and then describe a little bit about what this video showed so laying writes. This is the same fresno california. Sheriff grew that has been illegally entering my property and home. When i leave my house here they are using an infrared. Thermal imager to see if i am home. They done a phone a waiting. Second party with information. As to whether or not i'm home. Fresno pd fails to fully investigate my complaint on this incident which i fully detailed in my fresno. Pd internal affairs complaint. If anyone can identify any of the fresno sheriff personnel in this video. Please afford their names and quote so the video is of a mini van parked across the street from his house. It stops the side during the event opens and there are some in with this huge camera. I have no idea what type of camera this is. But it's recording lang's house for like and a half then. They closed the van door in drive away a few seconds later so this is weird for multiple reasons. Yeah why did they solve in front of lang's house. What exactly were they filming. Who are these people. Also he says that these are the same people who have been illegally entering my property in home. When i leave my house yet there is no videos posted to his youtube site. Showing any sort of people illegally entering his property and leaving he also had video cameras inside of his house. There is no videos posted inside of his house. You would think that if police were illegally entering his house he would have shared those videos. Just say yeah so many thoughts but we will cover them. I agree that of all of them. This was definitely the strangest of the video of the bunch And a few things struck me as well first of all. It's an unmarked black van. What looks like tinted windows in the back and his street is fairly residential..

"Aka your home wireless network and your comment. And the exact time it was posted the fresno pd would be able to trace your ip address and find out where you live what you post post etc oddly. John lang's website with named jodi murray dot com was being a smart ass by naming it. After the person who he thought was an informant. His posts are worth a read. And again we will post the links to what i found in the show notes. Okay so sharon. What is next in this crazy town. Banana pants of a story all right. So as we mentioned john laying thought he was being harassed and was going to be killed by the fresno. Pd he actually had a youtube page and he posted videos from his surveillance camera. So let's talk about that. There are seventeen surveillance videos on his youtube page. His channel is called laying marine marine as in the branch military. That he belonged to his youtube. Page is still up so you can go check it out for yourself and watch all these videos link is going to be in the show notes as well so all videos were recorded with his front home security camera. The first video was posted on may twentieth of two thousand. Fifteen and the last video is dated january sixteenth of thousand sixteen just four days prior to his death. Lanes theory is that since he was criticizing the fresno police on the local news site the fresno bee they were able to track his ip address and find out where he's lived mini explained all that previously so he had cameras set up to monitor his house to see. I'm not really sure if he put up the cameras just to see if the police were surveying him or if he had these cameras up for a while but the videos in start appearing on youtube until twenty fifteen and he had issues going on with the police since like two thousand nine. Is that right many. At least that we know of and honestly like there were it. Sounds like there were quite a few cameras. So i don't know because he had indoor and outdoor cameras right. So yeah yeah so. Let's talk about a few of the videos that he posted. Because i definitely have questioned. Why do too yeah on these videos so this is from. This is a quote from the first video that laying ever posted he states ford crew cab. That stalked me at my resident. Numerous times on twelve thirteen fourteen. This truck belongs to fresno sheriff personnel was stalking me that saturday morning on twelve thirteen fourteen truck is visible in timeframes and then he lists couple timeframes and then goes on to say five minutes. After this incident. I received a hang up call from this number. He list number. Which i'm not going to be reading because i don't know who this number belongs to and i don't want anyone calling this number. But then he goes on to say. The owner of this phone number is a member of the fresno sheriff's office and just a quick description. And all you see in the video is at the start of it. There's a truck that pulls up actually really more in front of his neighbors house like they're driving but they kinda pull over to the side for a bit and then pull back into traffic and drive off and then towards the end of the video you see a what looks like a similar truck to simply driving by the house. Quick note on the videos. Because i know i had to look it up to get some perspective than ness avenue lang street..

"We. Need the national guards we needed. Spare Co we are killing pay. Dogs. Win. flaky France during the. Time about this crime. That's kick the. Best States of America tonight get a whole team specimens immediately my bestest. Crowd him the crown. And What is that you? One last time record. For years from now. We walk out of here a national champ. I'll tell you this. I expect nothing less important. Keys to the Game Colfax normally I do my keys to the Games to the teams that we cover on a football. Friday. But as you know it is Thursday and the Colorado State Rams are playing. I and you got to get used to the Thursday games. Three more after this one I think next week's Thursday game too so. What I'm looking at this one against Fresno State Fresno state handed to them last week against why I don't know how much you really WanNa take from a Jake Hainer I think is is going to be a decent quarterback for the bulldogs this year we don't know a lot about Colorado state we know about some of their returners we know about Dante right nate Craig Myers trae McBride. Marcus macelroy. Obviously, the big decision was to go with Todd santio today the guy from temple the transfer from temple. He's not like a a runner runner, but he can run he can get outside of the pocket he can move around. So you look at that, you look Cordeiro did for Hawaii. Last week with one, hundred, sixteen yards. Did that have an impact or was it the fact that Patrick? O'Brien missed some time I'm not real sure. But when I look at the keys to victory tonight number one, it's to me it's obvious. Adagio is a running coach his teams run the ball Fresno state gave up three hundred and twenty three yards on the ground. Last week to why Marcus Macelroy Christian hunter key one herndon that freshman might get some action tonight I I'm looking for big games from the running backs and obviously this. Shoe merged, with Boston College. Offensive Line three guys I'm Elisa Johnson Cam, ready and Adam Corey the right guard there. So three guys in that interior part of the offensive line are transferred from Boston College and then bury Wesley on that right tackle side Keith Williams and the left tackle. So I WANNA see this offensive line pushing people around so. You Know Ben them to your will I want to see a forced run game? I don't think that's a big ask because I think Adagio is going to do that regardless. So run the ball stay committed to it. And maybe we have to sacrifice wide receiver you name from now on which Kinda sucks but this is the new. This could be the new rams run run run and we'll see trae mcbride what goes well with a great running game play action to a tight end and trae. McBride had forty five receptions last year, five, hundred, sixty yards, four touchdowns I wanNA see a big game a special night. For McBride, this guy could be a first rounder but seven games to build that resume into the. First round. So looking for a big one there tonight on the defensive side of the ball now Fresno state last week, they threw for about two hundred, eighty, nine yards ran for one hundred, twenty Jay cantor's a decent quarterback. He might be trying to get his tonight Rashad Gye defensive, Backfield Logan Stewart the safety I want to see special games from those guys, Kelly. told us and I kind of agree with them right now, the only special player you have on defense maybe Manny Jones changed that tonight. Start being special in the defensive side of the ball because you haven't been for far too long. Give Rams fans something to cheer about you. WanNa blitz you WANNA take chances get after trust your defensive Backfield Trust Logan Store Trust Shot Gye there you go I like the rams to win tonight. I'm going to go twenty fourteen. In a maybe an ugly game. That'll do it for us. We'll be back at it on a Friday good night northern Colorado..

So you know he's experienced he's connected, but he's working with a team that may or may not be suited for that allied with and I, think that's what he has to discover You know they have. Had A few injuries that are a factor but I think tonight's Big Test can the personnel they use the other night in that same alignment be successful against physical running team. If not, do they have some changeups, can they change their front? Can they go to an odd front? Maybe an extra guy on the line? What are some of the things they? Can Do to try to counteracted team that wants to overpower Hawaii did that second half and That's probably the biggest thing I'm watching for tonight in addition to how the quarterback players and I think. That's what's so interesting about the short season and how much can you really take from last week's game is that is that what this team is going? To be because even if it was a regular season Paul we'd say, Oh, well, that was the first game. They're going to try to iron some of those things out but you said it Fresno state didn't practice a whole heck of a lot in fact, correct me if I'm wrong I don't think the bullocks practice until the schedules were were released is correct. That is correct and that's you know the coaches are very careful to say, hey, that's not an excuse me. We don't want anyone talking about that. We don't want to think about it, but it is the reality and you know from that standpoint, they are at a disadvantage compared to the rest of the mountain west. This is an area that you know has people in the bay. Area and La, Fresno, you know and the the thought is those people take their better than the folks here in the valley. So there's always that dog mentality that chip on the shoulder and that's when the bulldogs are at their greatest. So if if they look at that and say, Hey, that's another disadvantage. Hopefully from the coaches perspective, it's just more fuel for that underdog fire how about on the offensive side of the ball j or the transfer from Washington. three turnover four turnovers thatthe I believe he had the fumble two, three, three interceptions in that one. But I I still watching that game I. still kind of really like the look of him for the most part. But you gotta wonder how much of that is just ironing out the kinks against a team like Hawaii early in that first game of the season. He's wearing a number nine was retired for the record breaking Kevin Sweeney I mean there's all these little dynamics going into it so you can imagine how it might not be routine and comfortable and I think he did some things we probably won't see him do too much like bailing on a good pocket when it's only a three man rush the coaches don't want him doing that you've tried to force the ball downfield a little too much through those interceptions. One of them wasn't his fault it hit. The receiver right in the hands bounced off his pads what up in the air got pick. But you know those other turnovers as far as he's concerned are absolutely on him he knows he can be better and he's looking to prove that tonight against Colorado. State team that came into the valley last year and beat the bulldogs on their home field. Yeah. That was one of the you know the big wins for Colorado State didn't have a lot of, but certainly, that was a big moment for the rams last year. Paul Leffler joining us the voice of the Fresno State bulldogs and. Paul will leave on this one. I keep wanting to say what does the tape show Fresno state, but there's no tape with Adagios crew just yet but you look obviously some of those stars on the offensive side, not a whole lot of stars on the defensive side for the rams maybe you know other than Meinie Jones but you know Dante right stormed onto the scene last year for C. Issue Marcus Macelroy was was a decent back last year and then certainly trae McBride the tight end. Those are the guys, right? Those are the guys your circle if you're if the bulldogs tonight. Yeah in addition to probably you know two different quarterbacks that you may see in the game regardless of who starts macelroy had a game in Fresno. Last year McBride had a big game at a long touchdown in Fresno. Last year I can tell you absolutely without hesitation they're thrilled that Warren Jackson isn't suiting them for the rams this year because he was match nightmare but no, I mean they're going off tape from Boston College last year tape. "No, it wasn't. But part of that I think is telling it was Kwami was cramping up and here's a team that wasn't on campus at all from the time covert it until after the mountain West reinstated fall football so that you know they didn't have access to the weight room they're on their own to try to be in football shape and he wasn't the only one who was dealing with some conditioned issues. So you'd hope that's cleared up, but it's only five days. Later that could rear its ugly head again tonight, and I'm sure the coaches you're going to keep close tabs on who's getting, how many rats and how frequently they're substituting. We're talking to the voice of the Fresno State bulldogs Paul Leffler I. I'm always a fan of unique defenses. I'm curious to see what Ceus you does. I know they're thrown in this Fox position I I'm very intrigued by that see how they use it. But on the other side for Fresno State, they had this four to five defense and a Husky position I. Just I just like the nicknames I don't really care if it's just the exact same I just liked the fact that you name them something different and it seems unique. Well and I guess a Husky is a dog. So fits with the bulldogs a little bit distant relative. But if they have to play Washington next year they play UCONN they may want to change that position name but coordinator that Defense William in is really charismatic guy at you know coach Khalil Mack at Buffalo and it's got some great stories of that and he's been at a lot of different places at college football. So you know he's experienced he's connected, but he's working with a team that may or may not be suited for. That allied with and I think that's what he has to discover You know they have had a few injuries that are a factor, but I think tonight's big test can the personnel us the other night and that same alignment be successful against physical running team? If not, do they have some changeups can they changed their front? Can they go to an odd front? Maybe an extra guy on the line what are some of the things they can do to try to counteract team that wants to overpower Hawaii did that second half and? That's probably the biggest thing I'm watching for tonight in addition to how the quarterback players and I think that's what's so interesting about the short season and how much can you really take from weeks? Game is that is that what this team is going to be because even if it was a regular season Paul, we'd say, Oh, well, that was the first game they're going to try to iron some of those things out but you said it Fresno state didn't practice a whole heck of a lot in fact, correct me if I'm wrong I don't think the bullocks practice until the schedules were. Is Correct. That is correct and that's you know the coaches are very careful to say, hey, that's not an excuse. Me Don't want anyone talking about that. We don't want to think about it, but it is the reality and you know from that standpoint, they are disadvantaged compared to the rest of the mountain west. That's just the way it is and I think the the spin on that is Fresno. State's greatest teams in the greatest moments in Fresno state history in any sport underdog stories. This is an area that you know has people in the bay area and La. Fresno you know, and the the thought is those people take their better than the folks here in the valley..

"But and with Fresno state that's complicated by the lack practice time, the dogs have had as well but again, it just expect the unexpected and that's why we love sports the unexpected. Well, you said you, you mentioned a few new coaches in the area where this station here the Voice of the bears we were pumped for the McCaffrey era and yeah, we're putting that on hold how `Bout Fresno State. Guy Familiar, great history with the bulldogs but Kaelin to bore. I know you think highly of him I know I know the bulldog's fans think very highly of this head coach. Yeah it's. It's really interesting that head coach hasn't won a game. Yet I think is so highly regarded and part of that is how well the team did when he was here as offensive coordinator, you know they did win amount West Championship won twenty two games in two years when the team they inherited, it only won one game the year before. So yeah, that was impressive but I think it's just who he is and how he carries himself how he expresses himself you can see the rapport with the players with the coaching staff. But he's a really genuine guy who was just had success anywhere. He's been and you know bulldog fans can't wait to see that I win. But I'll tell you having done a show with them this week and spent some more time talking to him yesterday. He's definitely concerned about Colorado state. He does coach adagios physical reputation. Now, you've got the curve ball today it sounds like you know the transfer from temples going to be starting quarterback and not O'Brien who fresno state face last year. So again not to beat the dead horse be a broken record, but expect the unexpected and I think these coaches need to as well and they need to be ready to adjust on the fly and what's interesting in on the Hawaii things. Last week when you look at the box score there in that game kind of unfolding as they were able to run on the bulldogs for three, hundred, twenty, three yards at quarterback was moving around. So wondering today, a lot of things were going through my brain as far as that decision by coach Adagio but then todd sent, you can run a little bit better than Patrick O'Brien. I'm wondering how much that was a factor when looking at the game last week between Fresno State Hawaii. I'm sure it's a big factor because not only did Cordeiro pile up that yardage in those hundred sixteen rushing yards for him. our with the sack yardage subtracted. So we actually had a better rushing day than that in that element of the game, but they also switch things up with Calvin Turner who they list as a running back play quarterback. At Jacksonville last year, they use some wildcat with him with two extra lineman seven linemen front. Fresno state really didn't adjust well to I'm sure that the rams coach is looked at that film and said, Hey, we think we can win the line out Physical Fresno state. So I think the onus is on the bulldogs tonight to prove that they can be that tough and physical upfront and stop the rent, and if they don't stop the run, they know it's going to be a long night. On the on the pass rush side of things for Fresno you look at what? kwami. Jones had had three six that was in the was that in the first quarter. Paul it seemed like he was off to a hot start and. Then then you kind of start peeling guys out of that game because guys are getting so tired but man, he looked unstoppable early on. Yeah he did. It was three sex in the first quarter we're thinking, Hey, remember that game. Eighty nine Ron Cox at seven sacks against cal state fullerton that record in.

"Colorado. State's first game of the season taken on the Fresno State bulldogs and who better to talk to us about the Fresno State bulldogs and the Voice of the bulldogs Paul Leffler. Paul thank you so much on short notice by the way but thanks for giving us some time today before game night. You Bet it's college football I mean everybody's ready to go at a moment's notice because you never know when at a moment's notice things Mike, it can't. So it's just one of those bizarro years and I'm just excited. We've got a game here tonight. On our side. Now, what was that like for you last week? I never know where the broadcasters are. Now I never know if they're never know what that's like I don't know if they're in. Doing the game from a hotel room. What was it like for you personally last week You know it's one of those things you realize what you've taken for granted for. So long because a lot of people are are doing this under very difficult circumstances but no, it was great for us. They did move us out of our normal booth at the stadium and put us up on the roof. But I thought it was actually a little better vantage point probably GONNA be a little chillier up there tonight with the elements but Being able to be there and see it in person and described the action as you see it as opposed to a monitor that can't capture the whole view and the whole atmosphere. That's that's really ideal for someone calling a game. So I'm thankful we're still able to do that. What was it like the the lack of fans of course It's gotTa be a strange one too. Surreal absolutely surreal and you know one of the reasons that bulldog stadium has one of the top twenty five winning percentages in the country for any home field is that the fancier are so phenomenal at the red waves you know it's Almost a mythical situation that people talk about after they bring their teams here they lead boy that was a tough place to play. So the do a game there without that element without the palpable presence of the crowd, not the noise. But when that crowds there, you can feel it you feel it from you know the tips of your toes to the top of your head and and that's different and it's you know until they allow fans to come back. It's just not going to be the same. So it was pretty surreal to be there for that..

More prevalent fifteen years ago is so significantly different now that I am so thankful and grateful for that because I see girls coming out of school now and to his wall right that maybe don't have to deal with it and nearly as as much. And how his right you know? Shall we wake? Jj Side. Just you know showing up in that hard work and that's just how it happens and you know some people just you're just blessed with it. You know you rather you become blessed by hard work and other things yeah. That's good advice you. Do you watch these network shows. They're great and they're intriguing and you do learn from. It's not how kitchens are. They're not begging open and spacious. Sometimes Sir in tight you know and one hundred and seven degree and you know and then upstairs cooking outside or you know you're in elements. Yeah yes or your throat. You're cooking dream in the middle of August in Fresno. See if you love you know sixty thousand dollar wedding and all of a sudden The PG in New York decides to go out so you have no gas so you have to rent propane grills and put the whole wedding on outside the bride and Groom Finding out. It's just you know it sounds like a true story you just. I still don't think they know that we did everything that must be that. Well that's the beauty of the food a chef that you know they never find out you just served beautiful food and they were happening. That's fine the being shirt and solving problems you know the customer should never see those those glitches if you're if the customers are seeing your service glitches. They're very severe service. Glitches right absolutely yeah. We'll we just so appreciate the time and we usually and our podcast with one question and so we are called fresh local on us. So the honest question for today is what's something unique about you guys. The most people don't now I feel like we got a lot of your story though today so we might have like. Let the cat out of the bag base. People would already know most of my stuff because I'm pretty much an open book. If you ever talked to me I'm obviously a loyalist. I've been at the same rush for eighteen eighteen years and A story that typifies. That is that I stood up at my wedding and my boss at the time. The owner of this restaurant Got Stanley was there and they asked me to do with speech and I was supposed to do a speech to the whole thing and the biggest thing other than getting married to my wonderful wife. It was They asked me to speak and I saw stood up when I go. Max's is now open Sundays and I down and I walked off. You know. That's just like we know what to do. So that was my. That was my whole public speaking speech for that for that wedding. And that's how that's how much in love with the business I am in and I even told my wife I said. Hey this is what you're marrying into. Here's our pre-nup this is what I do. This is the effects it's going to be. You know we just. She just went through even during Cova she just went through two holidays again without her husband at home and and the kids went through that without data you know we went through an Easter already. We went through mother's Day now and she signed on for that. But I really try to do as much as I can to make her feel super special on those days too because what an amazing person to be able to To be able to still like at all with the amount of time that I spend doing what I love you know people in our lives that people are in our lives that encourage us to and give us the time to do the things that we love our true angels BAFTA. Is there anything like you guys want to tell the community share like you're from from behind the you know the doors of you know your kitchen or behind the doors of your restaurant obviously you're offering takeout and curbside but like what's going on inside of restaurants right now and what's going on inside of your head as we kind of move forward? Well you know there's honest fear about what's going to happen with the industry as a whole. That's that's my wholesome fear I am trying to detach myself from the news outlets and everything else who are constantly injecting more fear into the situation So I've I've done that which is good but the thing that people can do and recognize the most is that. It's probably going to look a little different when you come back to the restaurant for the first time we're going to do our absolute best to make it a very safe and educational dining experience for you For my server as well as you the customer that are sitting there at the table. "With the local board member of Fresno unified, just to fill in some of the blanks. We hear from superintendent Nelson just to follow up on what Nelson finds concerning about this guy's behavior. Apparently Slavic the school board member has engaged in some micromanaging behaviors coordinated Allison. Similar to those cited by two thousand seven Fresno county grand jury investigation is problematic for the district including making excessive demands on the staff for radiation research justification for the actions taken as well as scheduling meetings setting agendas and purporting to represent the district. This is going to be a fun ride. For the unified school district. Nelson also writes his general behaviour towards the staff is very demanding demeaning an abusive and unnecessarily controversial. And a lot of information was printed in the Fresno bee quote in an Email communication. You said to me on January. The Ted two thousand eighteen you described the district as a pardon my language turned. And this was my third, and you would not accept slow change in the Email. You describe yourself as a sheepdog a person who you say has the capacity for violence. Nelson writes, the Email was at is very disturbing to me. Yeah. It is. Here's a two minute warning other speech. So we will bring that to you shortly. A lot of you thought that Slavic was within his. It was okay for him to treat the bullets to the way that he did by grabbing the backpack. And I think it was pretty obviously student probably said something about the female. But he was with Michelle has a Dorian who has also at one time of school board member, and he was trying to direct the students to the office possibly the the confrontation really wasn't anything that heavy although the parents have to be so you blues that's exactly what they're going to be doing. So but looking at all this other behavior. It looks like there's going to be some problematic stuff going on. And it looks like we indeed do we have the president, Michael? Looks like we do. Let's bring him up..
