It's a great option for them to come back to the workforce and not have to start at the entry -level position again. Path Forward is an organization that assists with returnship programs and says participating businesses have on average converted 80 % of returnships to full -time positions. He then stabbed Lyon in the face, chest, arm, and neck. Both men ran from the scene. Lyon was found dead a few blocks away. Lee was arrested a short time later. He was sentenced Friday to 40 years in prison, serve but will only 28 years and be on probation for five after that. Luke Lucret, WTOP P News. It's now been more than two weeks since an elderly man was hit and killed in a hit -and -run near the National Mall. This week, the suspect in that case was face -to -face with a judge. 33 -year -old Benjamin Robertson is being held without bond. He's being charged with second -degree murder for killing 75 -year -old Bing Wong on July 12th. The victim's teen granddaughter also was struck. Police say the pursuit began after the driver sped away from officers during an attempted traffic stop. Following the hit and run, the Secret Service issued an alert to other law enforcement agencies to search for the driver.

A Russian woman living locally in Leesburg pleads guilty to an unusual smuggling incident last year at dulles. Paulina Perlman pleaded guilty to bringing into the United States vials of animal DNA, while denying on a customs declaration that she was importing any animal products or cell cultures. Perlman told the court she is a researcher in molecular biology and does genetic sequencing. The incident occurred last August at dulles. The office of the U.S. attorney for the eastern district of Virginia says perelman was carrying samples of endangered species including Siberian crane and Dole, a South Asian wild dog, Perlman is scheduled to be sentenced in August.
