"Probably going to be in terms of him being that all around super duper michael vick randall. Cunningham type of quarterback steve young type of quarterback where there are do threat quarterbacks. The new new age of what they do quarterback is all about them. We went from bobby douglass with a chicago bears with nothing but a runner. We you know we. We went ahead and went to randall. Cunningham who revolutionized the quarterback position when he was by far and away the grip the best athletes on the football field whenever he played his athleticism and his His movements and how he was able to not only run for close to one thousand yard but also be able to throw a ninety yard bomb the freddie mitchell and those guys and be able to operate in a system designed just for him to take advantage of his skill set of his athletic ability and then after he retired after flaming out in philadelphia to come back for the year that he had Taking the place of brad. Johnson when he got injured in nineteen ninety eight with the minnesota vikings with danny green at the head coach. Brian billick the offense coordinator and have the renaissance for one year that he had where his athletic skills were quite diminished but he still had the developmental he had developed. He had developed an an opportunity to be that pocket quarterback and you had the season that he had for the vikings going. Fifteen one randy morrison chris carter and in in Isaac re-litigating i read. I read or something like that. Robert smith that team was flipping loaded. But you know what made that team go. Was the pocket passing presence of randall. Cutting him. I see possibly the scene type of adventure in terms of lamar jackson. You know developing into that type of quarterback where look man for the next four or five years lamar as be maybe one of the most if not the most dangerous threat authentic threat in the league. Because he's going to continue to develop as a pocket passer and is that leather system is still going to be there. So we're looking at lamar about maybe until about the age of twenty eight or twenty nine barring some type of injury where you're gonna have to account for him in his athleticism big time now when he starts getting into authorities when he starts slowing down a little bit won. The game progresses will in new generation of super freak athletes. Come and You know in in Start to play him a little bit more. She's going to have to adjust by that time. I'm going to go under the on the assumption that he'll be able to stay in the pocket. Use his athleticism. When need be because won't be the same as it was when he was playing at his current age right now but You know. I think that's the i think. That's the progression in terms of quarterback. Play for lamar jackson. So yes. Lamar won the mvp. When basically i wouldn't want i. I'm not gonna say that..

Thirty tich twenty years the final score on forty niners radio the pack take the sunday night affair in santa clara that was mason crosby from fifty one yards out for aaron rodgers. Nice to finally win here. They they beat us up twice in nineteen. Those were tough tough ones. Are the road trip out. West from green. Bay's always tough but there's a lot better when you're going back to win going to have his body language after the game set a lot fired up you is really into it. Yeah no doubt here was talking about body language and everything else. It was matt leflore and davante adams he took a head. Shot came back into the game had a couple of big catches on the final drive. That competitor man i mean and then to go out there and have to bake catches and in the the final minute drive. I mean he is the ultimate components. Certainly set them up a jerry. Yeah how about this. Who has what quarterback has the most three hundred yard passing games three. Td's zero interceptions over the past six sixties. Aaron rodgers. he's he's he's on the list he has town dak prescott. No he's not going to be something. Someone obvious here daniel jones. No i don't think about this. Three hundred pass yards three ts. Zero interceptions hatchard has six season. Patrick mahomes a second on the list with eleven. He's tied with tom. Brady and drew brees each of those. Have eleven those types of games text leap becker to kirk cousins packet from ya. Kirk cousins has it and he's he leads with twelve of those types of amazing amazing. Thank you interception. By the way in the last two hundred taps right. Nobody's been so good being mediocre. Vikings beat the seahawks thirty to seventeen. Also you had so. I i told you i pull some dan campbell from the The loss to the ravens nineteen seventeen. He basically put it on his defense because there was that fourth thousand nineteen conversion on that drive. We still had an opportunity to. I was fourth and four thousand alone long way to go and we gave it up. You know. didn't get off. The donovan mcnabb to fedex. Did you have fourth one. "With Greg, Papa here, just come on Family news, Our buddy Kevin friends and who we love and he's back in Philly, you know, doing Phillies games Huge news Thiss morning at 6 15 Mama. And that is the name of Kevin's late brother who passed away of cancer, deejay, friends and self So D J lives on Kevin Amanda's new born at 6 15. I know It's a cute little picture. I said to myself, Is this kid possibly the first ever Phillies Giants combo fade in in fandom history? Yeah, you know. Yeah. I don't know if that breed exists, but because Pops works for the Phillies. And of course, Pops grew up with the Giants. Welcome to deejay and congratulations to the That's great news. Congrats branding his great news, man. Ah copes. Let me know when the connection has been made. We have made the connection just yet. Action. Yeah. So just to give you a little road map going forward, we haven't forgotten you. The cooler content is rife with content, Teo. I'm trying to get in there too. I can't wait to see what you guys pull out. Ah! Return to to the demon friends and war. By the way, the French Indian war. There's the 100 Years war. Then there's the Beekman friend Damian Copeland. Yeah, yeah. Use that giggle for the record. Just thank you very much needed that correction on then Henry Sherman at 9 35. Hey, yeah, Coach, we're going to tell you, man. Is that all just so you know this? I've never like announces on the air, but just for your head because we never get to talk to her and brakes anymore. Like we used to, And I missed that. But when we do the cooler content, just so you guys know I never ever Ever. I never look at that email on purpose because I want to be like listeners see up because I don't want to know. Like what's comin. I want the element of surprise. I like a jazz musician. You want to improv? Do it. I'm a cool cat with a cigarette in my mouth and and one of those little Berets on my head and spinal tap Mach tube free form jazz Odyssey. By the way, there's a re formacion Spinal tap will be doing an online over 14. Yeah, and they were on the news and no, papa. Just the connection's been made. We have to return to the person who compared the A's complaining about the start times two. To Nigel Tufnell complaining about the spread backstage. Yeah, it's a complete catastrophe. We're not going to let it ruin my performance. No one. Ah! Alright, Greg. Buffer, Ready Force of eagles. 40. Niners, Greg, We are armed with the Ah, the 6:30 A.m. interview We did with Mike Quick of Eagles radio. So ah! We're ready to go, man. How you doing? Gee, pop, What's upgraded My quick tell you And what more importantly what John Lynch tell you, we'll fill fill you. Well, well, well, quick was sort of he Papa. Let me get back to my writing days, I would say he, he ruefully chuckled a few times about the state of the Eagles. Have more of the rueful is more like reenact remain fullness like Ah, Ah, home, man. So like, where do I start? Let me start because he's a former Great wide receiver. Oh, yeah. Um so I'm my board Murph for the Eagles. I don't know who to put foot down. You know who's gonna play or who's not gonna play? The only guy that I have down is Greg Ward. He's right there with you, man. He first did it. Did you ask him about the availability and J. J are Sago Whiteside, the Stanford Cardinal John High Towers and to give you a way loved all those guys into one big list of injuries. Alshon, Jeffrey to Sean Jackson, John Tower, Jason, and That's when he ruefully shook his head and shot. Yes, eyes is basically the they're goingto have to rely on Miles Sanders is what he's saying. Harold Carmichael gotta play in this game. Our Michael Freddie Mitchell. As you know, parties go to go on X has might go to so it's gotta be Secord and Mile, Sanders is is the only path to victory for the double in both. We're good. Let's go. All right. Next up. Who's that dolphins to eligibles the whole game. We're gonna play with its nine million offensive line, he says. Let's go and with Wentz, he says, it's everything he says. The old line has let him down his mechanics or poor. He's making bad decisions. He's turning it over. It's just he's in a funk and He even said, You know, the town plays a role in the town's hard on him. So that's Philly. Man. I know Philly. Well. My brother was a sportscaster there for years, and they are They're cruel to be unkind. I would say they're very different, but I think they're even tougher than Boston or New York. I kind of like it. Carson Wentz is a tremendously capable player. I mean, when they won the Super Bowl. I thought he was the best player in the NFL. Hey, doesn't tear his a C l diving into that ends up with the L. A Coliseum to beat the Rams. I think he went to the N V. P that year, and I think they win the Super Bowl anyway. Now, who knows when you get into a playoff, you know, maybe they don't run Philly special and who knows, But Hey, did finished third that year in the M V P. Behind Brady and and girlie And he was second team All Pro quarterback. I think he's that good of a player. I can't you know, I do see a little wide base in his legs, sometimes. I know John Land next wanted me because I get man crushes on guys and I had a deep one on Andrew luck forever. I was right there with little 49 3 preseason game. But Carson Wentz what the people have come in the league. Before. Since whence reminds me the most of luck. I don't think he's quite as good as luck. But he can be so I don't know if she has she gotten over. The hell, he said in assortment of injuries. He's like luck where he's little bit reckless with his body for one And he's sometimes reckless with the ball trying to make a play where he should just throw it away. And then he's a lot like you know Philip Rivers. You talked about the offensive line. Jason Kelsey Travis's brothers, a good players center, Lane Johnson, a right tackle, but They're flipping their guards. Jason Peters is not the same player..

"Thousand nine hundred eighty eight. I don't care what the score is. What an and just put it on and I'm going to watch it. Can I tell you my favorite part of the last dance? It's not the Michael Jordan looking at the IPAD in the meantime it seeing Chris Gatling. Take Dennis Rodman in the post. It seeing you know debt left shrimp at a Pacers Jersey. It's that's the stuff the old place last night when I'm flicking through and I see that on. Nfl Network. Jimmy. We could talk about the broadcast elements of it. But what about Marian buts about Ben? Coates what about you know? Mark Ingram Senior Irving Fryar like there is a real style to seeing these men and not the hall of famers like the other guys that Kyle and I are leaning into also. Because we're doing this thing and to get through your leading to it. Were doing a thing for NFL DOT com. That they're they might put on. Nfl Network as the first one went really well but he and I go back. And we re watch games from yesteryear. And it's not the classic Super Bowls that you've seen thirty times from NFL films. It's a random playoff game or a random regular season game that you might remember and that we break it down. Not The plays not the famous moments where we hit all that. But we're talking about. What the Hell is he wear? Joe Montana is wearing eastern wrist bands in the game that we did this week. We did nineteen ninety-three chiefs versus oilers. A game where Joe Montana takes the chiefs into the astrodome and every time the the oilers make a sack they're playing whoop there. It is by TAG team encountered. I break it down like that's exactly exactly what you were doing. Less light on twitter tweeting about this game like what in the world is happening in this broadcast in an awesome. I Yeah I I love the fact that you're doing a cheese because I was thinking to myself last night. I didn't tweet this but in my head. I'm like I'd love to see any game from the astrodome. Oilers run-and-shoot days love and says I love that you're doing that. I I can't believe that and you know it's funny as I'm watching the game and I. I remember when I was a Kid. My two favorite running backs in the NFL. Where Marian Butts and natron means he means business and it was Chris. Berman Natron means business and Marian. You know cigarette butts or whatever God the pads that Marion Butts at on last night and I forgot I totally forgot. He was on the Patriots. Of course you think of them as the San Diego chargers number. Thirty five yeah. Yeah This game that we're doing. Let me just give you? Some unlocked Christian equate because of course and Berry word. Whoever else barry word up very word up We're doing against gone. Nfl DOT COM. You can find. It's called run it back? It's GonNa be on Youtube. The first one we did was the Freddie Mitchell game in two thousand four when it was fourth in twenty six and mcnabb hits Freddie Mitchell and we ended up talking about the furniture play. We end up talking a lot more about Todd Pinkston. Who's the other wide receiver? Who's got just chicken? Legs and his dominating this game and talking about Almond Green and why we never think of green is one of the great running backs of that Arab. Anyway we're doing this game and it's Warren Moon which would end up being his last game as a Houston oiler. It's it's Joe Montana. And The wild part is this is two weeks after. Kevin Gilbride gets punched in the face by Buddy of mine that are broadcast in the game is is Dick Ebersol. Nbc's the Lead Guy. Dick Ebersol the play by play guy. No no no Dick Emberg Dick Enberg. I'm sorry to ever sell probably put them in the booth. Ebersol is the executive. Dick Enberg is doing the play by play and it's Bob trumpy who you probably remember. Bob Trump tight end. And he's fantastic. He's been tastic in and the entire broadcast. Every play that happens it's cut away to Buddy Ryan Grimacing are rolling is. And it's it's incredible. Montana takes a beating and part of the broad. Could part of the stuff that me and kyle are about his holy cow like Montana as an elbow that looks like a baseball getting knocked around. The refs are not protecting him. And Joe Montana's a chief. We we remember okay. He had a nice little playoff run. You'll forget Joe. Montana missed two full seasons from the. Nfl shows up the chiefs in ninety three and takes them to the playoffs. Wins the game in overtime against the Pittsburgh steelers on a crazy comeback and then comes back all the way in the Astrodome in the House of pain and beats the oilers in it would end up being one of the great comebacks of Joe Montana's career. It's forgotten because you know whatever it time goes on and we forget but we went back and revisited it and it's just tasked with Marty Schottenheimer that she's coach. Marty Schottenheimer coach of end. They're down ten. Nothing and Joe Montana. Hits a guy named Keith? Cash tight end and those. Who are die hard. Nfl fans might remember this. Keep scores a touchdown makes it ten to seven takes the ball and he spikes the ball on a poster of Buddy Ryan's face in the end zone love it. And it's like the most violent like touchdown celebration and me and I'll go to a whole riff on like if this were to happen at of Gronk was to score a touchdown and then go and throw the ball at a drawing of the face of the defensive coordinator. I think the broadcasters would be outraged. It'd be like what an immature petulant. Guy Gob Trumpian Emberg our loved. Like yeah rate. There's no place in the game. No place for that kids watching. But it's all about the look and the feel of the broadcast. There's no I intend. There's no score. There's no bottomline ticker it's very odd. It yet incompletely completely endearing. It was great I I had a couple of awful people reply to me on twitter last night about like. How can you know? It's very hard to watch us with no score bug and no down and like that person is one. Why are you sending me that tweet? Like if I'm sitting here saying I enjoy this. I don't need you to come in and tell me you're not I don't give a shit and to. That's not why you're watching the game for the actual score and the the play. I mean you're doing it all wrong and don't tweet me. It's just so good. Those pay the parcel screaming every player. Last night was phenomenal. Just constantly. Berating people loved it. Which leads me to a segue on this podcast. Which is your podcast to my question based on this Michael Jordan documentary. Can I ask you? Can WE DIG in. We can dig in. I hear I'm so I have. I want to talk about the last dance. I Y you just ask one question. I have so much to say about the last dance but I am very terrified of saying it because there's going to be backlash and I'm not in the mood to or not being cynical or not being negative about the actual documentary. It's a question to you in a sports media. Sense that I think you and your listeners can ponder good if Michael Jordan was treating teammates like he treated in that nineteen ninety eight season that we see in that all of the people on twitter are champing in loving and saying. Oh He's got such incredible vision. What a savage. What a winner. Whatever if there was an athlete. Who is doing that today? Would the same people on twitter? Who are lionising and loving Michael Jordan's intensity and commitment to excellence and in crazy way? He treated these teammates but that he brought them along with the same exact people. Praising Michael Jordan's greatness. Today be appalled if an athlete was to treat a teammate that way in two thousand twelve they would be trying to take down. Michael Jordan. Twenty four seven. Because I I'll say that would not fly today. There'd be a lot of backlash flu then. I don't think it was celebrated. I'm saying the same people on Twitter. Who WERE PRAISING. What a look at the focus. Look how he talks to these guys like look how he treated. Scott Burrell again Jordan. Goes out of the way to say you know. Hey off the court I was great and I you know. Burrell says the same thing. He was as awesome as it could be bunker the same exact people talking both sides of their mouth and I don't have names also. I'll say this I'll say this. This is one of the pro. I don't even know if you WANNA say problem but this is one thing that I think people have to understand. The documentary is airing on. Espn ESPN people staff dominate twitter. More than any other sports organisation those people are. Never GonNa say one negative thing about the documentary or Michael Jordan and I don't even mean negative. You're not gonNA see a critique you're not gonNA see know there was even an incident This Sunday where the episode where he wins the title after his dad is a father's day he throws himself on the floor hysterically crying. I don't understand that how you don't cut him today and say talk to me about that moment. What was going through your head what known from. Espn's ever going to say that you're never going to get one ESPN person offering a critique or anything about Jordan or the documentary. So that's why when you go on twitter. It looks like people are just orgasm. Twenty four seven over the documentary because the biggest media company entity in the sports world can't offer anything other than this is the greatest thing since sliced bread. So we can do it because we're not affiliated with. Espn now having said that the documentaries great. It's phenomenal it's entertaining. It's the old stuff the old footage MARV DOING GAMES WITH BILL. Walton said those those sons uniforms that they trump they all baby blue nets uniform. The documentary could not be more enjoyable. But you can critique some things that are not in it or not covered and for me you know. I don't have this. I think Michael Jordan is the single greatest basketball player of all time. That's my opinion but I don't have this. Let me get on my hands and knees in. Bow Down to them type thing. When I watched that I think okay. Yes on one hand. He seems like an extremely cool individual the way you know the cigars and the suit but I see that and I'm like he I wouldn't WanNa hang out with him for five minutes. He seems he seems exhausting. To be around with the constant just busting balls. And everything's a competition and this and like I can't be around people like that for a long time. I want to be like just you gotta calm down for five minutes and Michael Jordan's response. Which is what he says. When these critiques for being a tough teammate? Well then I'm off where you. I'm not all awesome guy and Jimmy. You grew up in where long island where for a soothing. You were more of a Mason Oakley Guy. And you're a ewing I was and I was actually grew up in New Jersey. And I know it sounds crazy but like Patrick and and Kenny Anderson. And Derrick Coleman and all those guys were my guys growing up and I think I don't view Jordan the same way either and yet I find this documentary to be such a wonderful trip down memory lane and that's what I love like. It brings warm feelings of when I really loved the NBA. And when things were real like the rivalry stuff with Isaiah is real. And it's still real. I see now you know. Whoever is drinking wine with Lebron James Barber shop and they're all just complaining about you know the media and it's like I get it but like I kind of wish. There were some rivalries in that there was some Actual without a doubt you know like it was much better back then so much better and the NBA. I as far as the documentary itself. I think it's fantastic little bit too much. Bj Armstrong is that fair to say. I don't think beat Armstrong plays a major major role in Michael Jordan's story and yet I strong. I don't have a problem with with that. That's fine you don't you don't with the Divisional. Rasc- like I'll give you one thing. Everybody loves this week and I didn't love was the La Bradford Smith thing because just came off like a guy making a story like well no but Jordan's the one who made it up but my so it's like okay. So he's the greatest player of all time but he needs to make up a story about La Bradford. No he doesn't need to make up a story about with private Smith because when he can put the ball in the hoop like no one ever could. It goes without saying. That's a window into the psychosis the mental. That's what I'm saying like. I find gamesmanship that he needs. He needed that edge. I I wrote about it. Monday for aside Com got great response. A lot of people read. It was good about the narrative that the documentary because he punched eve current face and he would bully scupper rally. That that's what may Jordan and the Bulls. Great it's just such the Bulls won championships because of Michael Jordan Scottie. Pippen and Dennis Rodman's basketball ability. Not because Michael Jackson Michael Jackson not Michael Jordan was an asshole. A ridiculous like so. Tim Duncan One. How many rings was he an animal? Like what kind of ridiculous narrative is put?.

Super Bowl XXXIX Recap: Patriots vs. Eagles

"The game we most fans remember. Andy Reid foremost is super bowl. Thirty nine and especially how the game finished up in the last six minutes. But let's set things up here just a little bit coming into Super Bowl all thirty nine. Both the Patriots and Eagles were the best teams in their conference. Both number one seeds both had tremendous seasons. The Patriots went fourteen and two that season season as they were looking for their third super bowl title in four years. Obviously Tom Brady was just beginning his run as the greatest quarterback of all time but he'd already established himself as a two time superbowl champion. And so the odds were stacked against the eagles a little bit in the Super Bowl although the eagles were far and away the best team team in the NFC that season having gone thirteen and three really they were essentially a one loss team. They lost to the Pittsburgh steelers in the middle of the season but they had clinched the number for one seat in the conference with two games left in the season and basically didn't play anybody in the final two games and that's why they went thirteen and three. The Eagles probably could have been a fifteen in one team if they'd actually played their starters in the final two games of the season but thirteen and three is nothing to sneeze at and it was certainly good enough to get them the number one seed in the playoffs The Eagles defeated the Minnesota Vikings rather handily in the NFC divisional round and then in the NFC championship game. As you heard me talk about on the last edition of BG and memories when we took a look back at the ten greatest moments in Eagles NFC championship game. History when they dispatch the Falcons pulling away in the second in half winning that game. Twenty seven to ten on New England also had a pretty easy time in the postseason. They won their divisional round game against the Indianapolis Colts. It's twenty two three and then they won the AFC title against the steelers. Forty one to twenty seven. Bill Belichick Charlie. Weis the offensive coordinator at that time for New England Oakland and on the side. Of course you had Andy Reid calling the plays and Jim Johnson The defensive coordinator at the Blitz Happy Defensive Coordinator one of the big story lines. The the biggest story line going into Super Bowl thirty nine was of course the health of terrel owens who was hurt against the Dallas cowboys a few weeks before the end of the season He had A. He broke his leg on a horse collar. Tackle that has now been deemed illegal because of that hit but as the game started getting closer it started to appear as though Teo Jio would be able to get on the field and Tara loans for the Eagles in two thousand and two thousand four was the difference. He took the eagles from being a very very good team. Urine in your out to an almost unbeatable team That season in fourteen games really was just thirteen games because he was hurt early in that game against the cowboys he caught seventy any seven passes for twelve hundred yards and fourteen touchdowns for the eagles that season for the first time in his career. Donovan mcnabb had a true number one receiver seaver to throw the ball to but the eagles offense performed quite well whether well without Tara loans in the two playoff games but to beat the Patriots it was clear the eagles goals. We're GONNA need him and he managed to get. He managed to get back in time six weeks after surgery to repair his broken right ankle. He was on the the field for the start of Super Bowl. Thirty nine Donovan. mcnabb had his best season. An Eagle in two thousand and four mostly because terrel owens was on the outside and he and mcnabb was outstanding in two playoff wins against the Vikings and the Falcons mcnabb had always struggled in those NFC title game but he played very well against Atlanta Atlanta. One or the other storylines that Freddie Mitchell was running his mouth. He came into the game talking a lot of smack about safety Rodney Harrison telling Harrison that he he was gonna have something for him and then in the game you know Freddie Mitchell caught one pass which late in the fourth quarter and Harrison had Two interceptions as we'll get to here in just Dominica and of course the Patriots were looking to officially become a dynasty. They had beaten the rams had upset. The Rams in the Super Bowl three years before they had failed to get back to the super bowl the year after that. But in two thousand three or just after the two thousand three season they beat the Carolina Panthers and one of the most underrated super bowls in NFL NFL history. And we're looking for their third title in four years. Andy Reid looking for that first title after finally getting the Eagles back to the Super Bowl for the first time since nineteen eighteen eighty so that was the setup as the teams gathered on the field in Jacksonville Florida for Super Bowl. Thirty

Eagles Patriots Andy Reid Donovan. Mcnabb Pittsburgh Steelers NFC Minnesota Vikings Indianapolis Colts Seaver Freddie Mitchell Falcons Bill Belichick Rodney Harrison Terrel Owens Tom Brady Teo Jio Defensive Coordinator

"San Francisco forty Niners and somebody who is preparing for said San Francisco forty Niners any rate I'm always like did you read he was on those that go to those those eagles teams I've always felt like when I was a kid the eagle for fun like make now was a lot of fun to watch Brian Westbrook was a great a great running back up a pass catching back he was an honors for a minute too at the back end of his career I really like Brian Westbrook I thought he was fun then T. O. goes over there yet the Hank Baskett thing you have try to get somebody that does or on that team anyway they had some it says a lot what was it is your name there yeah Freddie Mitchell Freddy Mitchell damaging Teo anyway those are some fun teams went to the NFC championship all the damn time all the time are they had some great rivalries with those those Tampa Bay Buccaneers teams in the early parts of the two thousand or to see Jon Gruden's Bucks team either beat them in the visual around a little I don't it may have been the NFC championship today knock them off to get to that Super Bowl out in San Diego again the raiders anyway Andy Reid I've always been fond of him he was also always just kind of harmless right like a lovable loser a gimmicky kind of offense a phone high octane offense but never won the big one well for him it all came down to to his roots right where he started coaching football and as a guy who went to this school San Francisco state who did not have a football team I would say that the kids aggressive stayed in and big kids probably around the country who go to a division to school they don't have all the major sports that is the one thing you're missing from a true college experience is not having the the big Saturday tail gate football experience you don't really get that at the smaller of the two schools that do not have these these teams so when you end up with a moment like this where a guy who used to coach at a football program at your school that does not exist anymore is coaching in the Superbowl this kind of a a fun moment sandy Reid yesterday in service media was asked how did the San Francisco State University the Gators over a nineteenth Avenue in San Francisco help mold you into the coach you are today yeah now is great I stayed on the way you for a couple years and then went to San Francisco state or for grown who was an older coach very very well respected in the country hello the college football coaches association it is a great teacher of coaches and players tremendous amount of experience and and so those great learning grounds for me and and you know personally as a coach and he gave me an opportunity to to work which I appreciated yeah pretty cool stuff manatee he started at San Francisco state plan at **** stadium which is not just just the soccer field the whole the whole Lotta graduations there and everything anyway just a cool man that he came out of there I think Holden was there too we should hire holder holder hired him I think add to address of state of course holding co teaching in the use of Lincoln high here in the city so pretty cool stuff more from Andy Reid now any sort of reflects on more stuff for San Francisco state this is pretty funny it was such a small school in such a small program that not only are you coaching football hero they're doing the fundraising for the programs yeah I mean I've come a long way from selling hot dogs they actually Allen gives me a couple after the game so I don't pay for but yeah no we we it was division to non scholarship program so great conference in northern California I conferences but a lot of coaches or players and great experience so you know it gave you that respect factor to worry are now he appreciate it you know take for granted and for being here you feel very privileged to be in this position it is crazy the kinds of into the places these coaches start when it's time to start as a grad assistant or film guide the route you take to being a coach not the same as that used to be like I feel like in the in the seventies eighties now probably eighties nineties just when I was growing up and even into the first part of this decade I guess we've just started a new decade in the first part of the century all say lot of it was about you know having been an assistant for a number of years especially the game of basketball or the game of football having played obviously takes you to different places but now you end up with guys were like video coordinators right you want to put these guys like house in and were holding the cable from her dad on the sideline during the Superbowl you know what guys like am like air exposure who was a video guy working in the video room and then Pat Riley gives him the nod and I mean hello users posted in the head coach of the of the the Miami Heat we're coming up on my twelve thirteen years or something right he's been around for a long time coaching that team so interesting stuff just passed you take now to become a full time head coach in either D. one or at the professional level and when I do I believe bill lost his first coaching job was a college cemeteries other hall of fame there so you know you got to start small that matter where he starts where you finish is also where it's also we're John Miller started broadcasting in a tale it was well shot out the other he were farmers that's what Chuck Miller what's before that somebody actually earlier when we were talking pizza said Hey I Hayward under rated pizza yes but a lot of time to a word I I mean the the call yesterday yesterday said it maybe was two days ago when we were talking cheese burgers and I said I think Hey we're not on a pizza Hey word though might have the best or the most electric Marino spots per capita of any city in the bay area I'm going with I'm talking quarter pound giant I'm talking vows burger talking Cecil's burgers I mean they are almost unrivaled I will say as far as Mexican food goes in maybe a parade or quesadilla goes Eduardo's talk three in a work one of my favorite spots in all of the bay area to get some Mexican food more from from a Andy Reid yesterday talking about I'm does the perception that you can't win a big one keep you up at night because so we're just saying I said boys love Dan to read because he was also kinda harmless right you go up against bill Belichick your family been blank diskette I don't have to deal with bill Belichick I want to deal with bill Parcells but your facing Alicante redo come from an area like this started his coaching career at a young age coaching in this city and he never really wins the big one you don't feel all that bad about having to go against them but any does it keep you what do you feel like this is a weight on your shoulders in any read for all the conference championships cannot get the job done I listen I high on life better than that doesn't tell yeah I don't want to win one of those may is America the minutes went that's what we do and the so you're here so I don't want that to be slighted but I also understand the perspective of life and there is my childhood I that doesn't mean I'm not going to work hard and coach are do all those things and comments way about their album drop in there this is America yeah I want an opportunity when one this is America for many read people check it out of the cast pre tax on all five one I'm I'm I'm with you here five one "So football season is upon us and everyone around here is pretty excited and I want to get back to the question of whether or not you're good with NFL referees playing fantasy football. because. these NFL jobs. as referees. while they pay well they're pretty unpleasant because we now can study everything you're doing microscopically and in slow motion and the rate of speed that your trying to judge versus what we get to see at home when we're calling you a **** because it was slow down for us and it was so obvious even in times when it's not that obvious on replay because we're doing it so microscopically now and it's making its way into soccer with this what's it called VA are what's VA ours not going well well because on penalty kicks if the if the if the goal keeper twitches all of a sudden you're saying that on a on a penalty kick you're saying they moved to store energy that's just silly the way that we're doing some of this stuff microscopically but on top of that these guys these they pay well these jobs but they're not full time jobs all of these guys are working second jobs usually they're good jobs not like baseball players in the thirties or working second jobs plumbers like their lawyers and stuff for they run their own businesses but this NFL thing is in a full time job so what do you think the integrity is important enough and the pay is good enough to got that I do think that they should have the rights as the rest of us do the same right there's no way NFL referees comply fantasy football it be a conflict of interest they're not even allowed to do the others they can't go to Las Vegas during the season they can't step into Las Vegas different is it even the off season but during the preseason regular season postseason referees get go to Vegas that's going to be problematic when the ravens. what do you think they're going to try and hide from gambling and be followers on gambling. the reason I thought of this question is because I know somebody in one of my fantasy league and I'm going to be very vague because this guy is very nervous he's a low and very he's trying he's an aspiring football referee he's work low in college games he's done scrimmages for some bigger team so he's just very intense referee has another job as well but he will not be in a group text about fantasy he it's all through his wife's email me he's doing it but he is nervous about you know some future thing be and I'm just like wow this guy's freaking out about this I can just imagine at hockey Lee's son in a league with his wife's email on it. hi Kelly son lives in here right now that hockey league done but imagine like your referee and you're in a fantasy league and your processing you have it's only a brown you know the score of your game to catch the touchdown but you know what's better the fear it and the flag does it come out I mean that's the kind of stuff that you have even the appearance of conflict of interest like I I understand that these are human beings and I understand that impartiality an objective objectivity are not human trait like you can aspire to them but that we all have our bias is conscious and sub conscious and it would be pretty conscious if using a fantasy to many and he's running fifty yards downfield and other of the penalty is going to help you any but if there is a play that that he cheated on and he scores on and you've got it when you're finished. you can't have the appearance of that conflict you can't have that actual conflict Mike my guess is that there are rules against this but they have to be reset rules because this is all a modern phenomenon like fantasy leagues not that long ago weren't even about money you got it was just some writing something that you're doing your playing time and now it's just straight up gambling now it's this it's this loophole that we have where it's gambling being legal before gambling is legal everywhere well you have the one day fantasy like draftkings which a lot of people are ours are betting a lot of money on it which one of the many reasons people are so excited about football returning is because you can now have this action baseball started with fantasy leagues but baseball did not perfected the wave that football has perfected it on the season long leaves have become very expensive momentum I've talked about him for years where I mean the seas along lady a lease there for a lot of money I'm just trying to process what I would do if I were referee while being in a fantasy league the same dot you would cheat and lie like if I. what I had that game that week I got guys listen the flag and coming out today you could do whatever you want you're also lands are coming and also be angel Hernandez in terms of just being terrible a judge I mean if the last forty five minutes aren't proof of it they couldn't trust you with making judgements on others I have come Mari scores a touchdown on part of the celebration. I would do that. good idea again if the if the people listening don't have an idea of how bad still gods is judgment is listening to go ahead and he read I dare you to go fourteen into and allow Alex Smith to leave arrowhead stadium to leave Kansas city guided there yeah because the Patrick my homes because you think you could turn Patrick moms that's something that Alex Smith is not Al Smith is a very good quarterback the audacity first off to do this to Alex Smith who's been very good and loyal to Andy Reid and what have a lot of football games dangle Patrick my homes out there because any re think she's some sort of quarterback was birth which he he's not by the way he is not because if he was out and it would be better that he's been the last few years so I but I why are there with the I mean that's a record for contents on anybody that that is that is. that's that's a world record for strikeouts not paying attention to any of the things he said the sentence before are you guys are interested I've told you before that Bella check is interesting in private with had Michael Holly on who is told us that sophomoric lay he'll be giggling at his desk because he's listening the jerky boys prank calls from the nineties I have heard him miked up sometimes on NFL films and he says interesting things he said that after Super Bowl that you could quote him on the fact that eagles receiver Freddie Mitchell was terrible and he was happy whenever Freddy Mitchell was on the field is H. B. O. gonna get in there with the Sabin Bella check documentary because. documentaries are great everything they do when sports or elsewhere is great they've got a mirror Donna documentary coming out I saw on our of it last night and I can't wait to get to the next hour wow you fans copy they're great and all that stuff and I'm curious are they are they going to do the hard knocks thing where they're not gonna be able to get close enough to actually explain to us the genius of these two leaders I saw the trailer for it and now I'm in just because Nick save it appears to be a really good mood which was shocking enough as it is so he doesn't have to say much of anything if he's in a good mood and actually happy to be there I'm all in yeah I'll bet on that as well HBO is area by the way they are airing a documentary so it was kind of like the ballot check Parcells one the thirty for thirty that it was fascinated to see the respect that those two got and the stories they were talking about each other but I don't wanna watch jovial friend guys I want someone to explain to me why it is they're not jovial or friendly. I want someone to explain to me how it is they do all of that. this is showing. what does meals on wheels do they deliver meals and smiles to homebound seniors but meals on wheels does something else they turn of volunteers lunch break into a meaningful experience as.

"Westwood One. Sports. They have at the final call Super Bowl fifty three in Atlanta. Patriots a thirteen to three win over the Rams. Rodney Harrison dashboards here on the safety blitz. NBC sports radio and Rodney the dynasty continues six Super Bowl championships nine appearances in eighteen years, my friend. He says if there's no end in sight and the crazy part about it is Tom Brady comes out this week. And he says, you know, what zero percent chance that I'm going to retire is unbelievable. And really think about the patriots. I mean a lot of props to coach Bela check for getting his team back into the Super Bowl after losing the Super Bowl. And that hasn't happened in what forty plus years. Yeah. Amazing and also kudos to a team. By the way, we keep forgetting this Rodney, they didn't even have one of their two first round picks this year. And I say a win the kid out of Georgia the offense lineman who went down early in training camp. Right. This is a dynasty that continues to draft picks two first round picks taken away by the NFL. And yet they don't miss a beat and Tom Brady at forty one going on forty two. He might be fifty at this point. Who knows it's amazing the the adjustments? They make the fact that Bill Belichick continues to have that fire with all these wins. I mean, how many steak dinners how many, you know, first class writes, it doesn't matter Bill ballot. Check still goes out there put together masterful game plan. But I'll tell you what the here's the problem. Ronnie people are getting patriot fatigue. I know it doesn't matter to you. You're an ex patriot. You want Super Bowls with them this dynasty continues. But my goodness. It says if it's automatic at this point. Oh, yeah. It'd be the patriots got a knock him off. If you don't like it. Knock them off. And it's some teams in the AFC this year that have really stepped up the chargers the Kansas City Chiefs to Indianapolis Colts. But you still have to understand the patriots are the dynasty the patriots on a team that everybody's trying to to basically knock off. And you know, you look at those teams I just named and maybe the Kansas City Chiefs with the new defensive coordinator, probably a new defence of mindset could come in and possibly do that. But right now, I mean Brady looks great. He didn't have a great Super Bowl. But he made the plays when it mattered most look at the patriots and look at every all the adversity that they faced this year from gronk from Eshelman, Dan suspended coming back. Not looking like these guys have looked. Tom Brady himself. It's just amazing, man. What coaching does and coach check. I'm sitting here looking at a lot of those different defenses and all a judgment cities. May it's very similar to what we did back in. Oh, three and four a lot of you know, a lot of men and abandoned some zone covered some pressures spying quarterback different. Looks to confused Jared golf, it was masterful that was coached. Ballot. Check at his very best just out coaching flat out out coaching, Sean McVeigh. Yeah. You know what? Go further you mentioned the chargers you mentioned the chiefs. Okay. Those are two teams. The patriots got through to get to the Super Bowl against Anthony Lynn Alcocer. Anthony, Lynn ran circles around him. Okay. Understandable, Lindsay young coach very bright future against the chiefs. Andy Reid look out coached coached him this year in the AFC championship game. Okay. That's not going to change. The Rams Sean McVeigh the young buck. Great future ahead of him. Tremendous start NFL careers. What twenty twenty four and eight. I think so far in two years bell. Chuck ran circles around him as well, the one constant besides Brady, of course, who continues to play at a high level is Bella check is just flat out that much of a better coach than anybody else right now in the league and probably in history at this point. But what did I tell you didn't I tell you? It's it's like when you play coach Bela check, it almost feels like you got twelve guys on the field against eleven because you're so well prepared you're so smart you feel like we out there on the field. You feel like you see things happened before they even happened. So that's why you see guys jumping on plays and expected things in a -ticipant is just just how smart he is. And you know, I look at the pets. And I said the pats would win by ten at least ten points. Yeah. Won by ten points. The pats were prepared. I mean, that's one thing that coach Belichick does. He makes sure that you prepared. They experience really kicked in. And they were ready for the moment. The moment was not too big for them. Like they've been there. So many times over and over again, it's almost like the equivalent of them plan another game. It wasn't the Super Bowl. It was. Just another game that they prepared hard for and flat out once again, coach Belichick. He did his thing. A lot of props tool safety. Rodney Harrison, Dan, Schwartzman, NBC sports radio news, not getting credit though. Because people keep talking about. Oh, well, Sean McVeigh's offense wasn't able to get the job done. You know, Sean McVeigh's offense was neutered. The Rams defense did play very well. And we have Wade Phillips a lot of credit because we've been on that defense this year for being disciplined Rodney they stifled Tom Brady for most of that game. They really did until the end when you could tell they were gas because you offense was not staying on the field long enough to give the defense any sort of rest. The fact is until really that lash drive which resulted in the touchdown for the patriots. You only touchdown of the game. By the way mean the Rams defense was playing outstanding football and Brady really had no answers for them. Rodney. Well, I mean, I think we did some things in a, you know, in the defensive scheme system in the secondary. What he was playing kind of more of a trap defense where you're trying to take away the inside guy. Etel men, and you have the outside corner coming in once goes out to the outside trying to rob instill the ball. So I mean, it's very complicated to takes plane on radio. Wade Phillips did a really good job of Sean Tom Brady, a bunch of different loaves confusing them. And and really Tom wasn't that factor? But I'm gonna tell you like I told you last week the to the patriots offense it's Brady, but it's still there either run the football and ran the football with thirty sometimes for well over one hundred and fifty yards. You know, when you have that level of success running the football it sets up everything else. And also told you this. I said Bill Belichick will not allow in Dominic in sue an Aaron Donald to ruin the game. They're not tell you that. Yep. Absolutely. Because he understands the this is the guy that I have to block and Tom Brady comes up he identifies where Aaron Donald is that now he has a host of plays that he can call away from whether it's blocks, whether it's you know, guys pull in double teams. Triple teams, this is what they do there prepare for everything. So if you're the Rams if you got if you don't have anybody outside of Aaron Donald damaging Suda can step up and really take control from a defensive standpoint. You don't have a chance of stopping them. Now. They you're right. Absolutely. And then you know, what you have guys who talk, and we know about the whole, Nicole, Roby Coleman, talk and talk and talk and you brought it up and you're right about it. Rodney you said watch Bella check in them scheme against him. And that's exactly what they did. If a guy wants to go out there and poke the bear the way that he did for some reason. I mean, look no fence to Nicole Robie calming or maybe a lot of offense toward him Rodney. But who are you like who are you to be talking smack? We're Super Bowl rings. Where are you to be talking anything about Tom Brady and age, and then he goes out and element ten catches one hundred and forty yards. And I told you that I told you they're gonna attack him. You know, think about it? Freddie Mitchell did the same thing. Philadelphia Eagles back in you know, when we played them an old four. A whatever, you know, talking trash about the team and our secondary in and myself and guys take it personally. And you know, you look at Robie in. What did I say I said he had is low twenty four minutes of fame. And now you back humble, you know, when you plan against coach Belichick and Brady. And when when people say that these guys are the greatest is it's because they are the greatest because they've been through enough fires. They've been through enough wars they've been through so many different situations. And you know, hopefully, this young kid, you know, hopefully, he he understands like in the future shut up and just play football. It's a lot of football to be played. And once you get on that big stage stage, it's easy to get exposed. And he certainly was exposed. No question about that. And by the way, he talked after the game as well. It's like what are you doing talking? What did you say? Especially now, you just kinda came out downplayed the whole, you know, you know, what he said and things like that. And how the game went out, and it wasn't all his responsibility with that Oldman and things like that. And he's right. Let me just say this, Dan, the fact that he came out and because element put up such big numbers. He feels like he has to come out and say, I just shut up once again like people see the numbers and all of a sudden, he's getting paranoid. Like, all man. We think he got killed. He got beat on some plays. But that wasn't his total responsibility. And yeah. No. It's just one of those things like these guys are young and they have to understand how to win and how to expect to win. And when you win do class. You don't have to tease people. You don't have to rub it in the saints face and say Yale was a penalty and things like that just win with class. And they help you in the future. One thing. I want to bring on our producer, John, Sal. She's a Rams fan. If you're the Rams Rodney, and John do you? Do you look back? Do you say to yourself man, we blew an opportunity here we held that patriots offense to thirteen points. We are a dynamic offense. Couldn't get out of our own way. You think they can look John? How do you look at it as a fan? Yeah. Of course, they're going to be looking back on it. And the offense of being saying, hey, how can we only scored three points when our defense is only holding on thirteen where was Todd Gurley? Jared Goff is getting pressured almost every snap. It felt like he was just not even on his game. Like Brandin cooks drops a couple of key passes. So, hey, I'm looking back on it and figuring out how to build on this and move forward. Yeah. Yeah. But to me, I think realistically, the Rams you're not you you you can't beat the patriots. I think what you do you take from it? And you say, you know, what we got a lot of positive things that we can build from it. We got Todd Gurley and season getting healthy. We have some decisions obviously to make with sue Peters. And all them guys. You know? But to me, I'm not looking at it from a negative standpoint. You was one and down last year in the playoffs. You you reach the Super Bowl in Sean McVay second year. There's nothing. There's nothing wrong with losing in the Super Bowl. Yeah. I mean, it's a big deal. But I never thought she was gonna win in the first place. I just felt like this team still has a lot of potential depends on Jerry golfing. How he bounces back. And and kinda what his demeanor is. Because remember people are going to look at this Super Bowl tape, and they're going to say, okay. If you could play some Zoll coverage if you can show some different looks if you could show some pressure and things like that you can you can limit Jared Goff. And I think that's what he's going to have to build off. He's going to have to find a way to get. Better because more people are going to put pressure on because guess what against the Chicago Bears. He didn't handle the pressure right against the patriots. And the biggest game of the year. He'd so he's got some demons that he has to deal with. Yeah. He definitely does have some team. Instead he has to deal, but Rodney you're right about one thing you brought it up in this segment. That was you said this game would be the ten points or more in favor of the patriots. I said something on the last safety blitz. They you didn't seem to agree with one hundred percent. But I feel that here we are after marinating this Super Bowl game that I was in fact, correct. What was I correct on? I'm gonna tell you next. It's the same was Rodney Harrison Dan Schwartzman right here on NBC sports radio. Ambi NBC sports scores app. Taking a.

"I want to yourself. I'm Jason with LA that's Marcellus Wiley that do. Yes, sir. In a new suit. You know it coming up. We'll tell you how the NFL can avoid another saints Rams controversy and LeBron James is still starting to put Magic Johnson that hussy whatever. But we start every day with a win which got to take big doll Rams defensive back to kill Roby. Coleman is continuing one of the Super Bowl Super Bowls great traditions consulted with his agent or is boys from college and made the decision. He's going to be Super Bowl fifty three's. Joe Nemeth Roby Coleman is attempting to trash talk his way into Super Bowl history. He started the week taking aim at Tom Brady suggesting that age had he wrote of the quarterbacks performance in the same Bleacher report interview Roby Coleman expressed his disdain for the patriots. He said, I've got buffalo blood running through my veins. So you know, I hate these guys off your naturally hate them. I never. Liked New England. He called the patriots airgun. He said Bill Bill check will run up the score in the fourth quarter. He said the patriots love antagonizing their opponents stuff like that little stuff to look down upon a team little a-hole stuff like that. That's what makes you not like New England Roby Coleman calls himself to slot. God if he's not careful when the Super Bowl is over. We'll be calling him the slot fraud homeless needs a history lesson on Super Bowl trash-talk before. There was a Joel Nemeth and Super Bowl three was there. Fred the hammer Williamson and Super Bowl one. We've played for the Kansas City Chiefs before playing the Packers Williamson a defensive back with a reputation for big hitting ran his mouth about shutting down the Packers. Receivers medical personnel. Carried Williamson from the field on a stretcher and the chiefs lost the game you want more history lean up Super Bowl third. I two plays filler receiver, Freddie. Mitchell himself red x because he always delivered. He promised. He had something for patriots safety. "The assets to make this happen. The one thing that gives me faith kyri would stay is not just him being a man of his word and saying, hey, he plans on re-signing here. But this was the challenge he wanted. He wanted to be the guy to lead a team not to piggyback with somebody else. Like people think he did with LeBron in Cleveland. But if you look at what he has in front of him now. Now, even compared to what he thought he had at the beginning of the season, it looks entirely different that max free agent that was next to him. Gordon? Hayward was supposed to be coming back has been a detriment to that team this year. And we don't even know when he's going to get back to his regular form. Jason Tatum seems to his stall that a little bit in his second year. Jalen Brown has had an open down your. We don't know what we're looking at there. So then you just say to yourself. Well, maybe this isn't the organization maybe he will go with LeBron to sort of piggyback for another championship. But maybe the Knicks are in play. The nets are playing maybe the clippers are in play. So I'd be very nervous about the Celtics. And I'd start looking at other deals for kyri possibly to give me to tell me that this guy and made all these big deal living Cleveland, he's calling back Ron. What are you going to? You know, you gotta make that big show. Again, I'm going to happen. But it goes you liberal out of the mother with that shot. You know what I mean? Nobody gets any credit. He's you know, I saw him in Cleveland. He kept holding that trophy. You know, if front of everybody days, and you were chasing the lung. That's what happened don't go back. Well, go roaming Coleman regret talking about Tom Brady saying I think he already does he's already backtracking on what he said originally with age comes a loss of accuracy. And they felt like they were going to expose him overtime if they remain linked together. But yesterday he walked that back. This is what I would tell you. I know a keep to leave. I know Marcus Peters. I know they've got same shields. I am not heard of this guy until he interfered in New Orleans, and he shouldn't be talking about Tom Brady. Because the only reason I know is name is because he's doing things like that. And talking about Tom Brady all of that said though, Tom Brady is already maximum motivated. It doesn't matter. What this or any dude says about Tom Brady, which is another reason why he should just lead in be the he'll everybody already hates them because he feels like he got away with when the NFC championship game. Right. And you know of what kind of smack you talk. You are not going to influence Bill Belichick's game plan. He's not going to tear everything up and say, okay this. Robie? Komen kid's been talking smack. We're gonna go to his side of the field every day. No, just go ahead. Lean in and say, hey, Tom Brady is this. And he didn't even say anything that was that bed. And if the end up being right, then you're genius. If you're wrong. Who cares? Tom Brady just won another championship. I know many of you are not rooting for the pages. But if the patriots win, you might get a Bill Belichick honest, quote like you did after they beat Philadelphia. And he said a Freddie Mitchell that guy is trashed we were happy when he was in the game. You might get similar talk after this one when he's Mike up don't Brady. He's goal this guy soul. He says, look, I really, you know, he's going like that. He has trouble going to the bathroom. That's that's a sign of old days. You know what? I mean this guy. No bread bread, you still spring chicken AG looks like when you don't have a doctor who's not a doctor. I don't have trouble going to the bathroom. No goes all the time. Thank you..

Also, if there's one guy who maybe shouldn't be talking this week. It's the Cal role be called me that and the only thing that's stopping the warriors right now. Let's go. All the field advocate. He was all right. Jackie. What do you make the trash job forty? You made these subsequent walk back. Oh, silly, Nicole. We have been down this road. So many times before players disrespecting Tom Brady players disrespecting the patriots. And if you notice the patriots are smart enough to say anything until afterwards. I'll take you back to Super Bowl thirty nine. Tony was there. Freddie Mitchell, the receiver for the eagles says, I don't even know the names of these DB's on the patriots because they're no good at what happens. He has one catch for eleven yards. I will not do that. The love is to will you Jack that up to five points. What I'm saying is if the coal to win I will not Jack that do I I will you give me five points. No, not five points ratchet that I've seen. No, no, no. Oh, no, no, absolutely. Not saying with your five just asking it can't hurt to ask. I took an under my first one guys I'm gonna love the eagles and saints over fifty one over fifty one. I know they got they got some defenses. But that's fine points points points. There you go it like it. Love it in steer clear of the games that we didn't mention. It's W MVP AM, Chicago ESPN one thousand. That was great. Yeah. By the way, the Packers did make it official to today. Mike Patton is remaining is defensive coordinator. And like this was reported a couple of days ago. Why does that matter because things that were thought to be true haven't turned out to be true today? We found out from shefty that our old buddy. Vic Fangio who we thought we thought had an offensive coordinator in place is not getting his offensive coordinator in wonder where they're going to go for him. I don't have a square to spare. I can't spare a square Gary kubiak was thought to be back on the sideline to call fence plays while Vic Fangio oversaw the defense. Shefty's now reporting that because the conflicts I don't know if the conflict came from Fangio, or if the conflict came from from kubiak, the story is now on the ESPN Denver Broncos site, and I'm wondering now whether or not. Do they expand? Why like whose I'm trying to scan the article? Says although kubiak will not be on Fangio staff because of differing ideas about the team's potential offensive philosophy. And some of the other assistant coaches who would be hired sources said the possibility remained Friday. The kubiak could remain as part of the Broncos personnel department. It was unclear however, what would happen if another team pursued coup kubiak with a coaching opportunity. So the Tom Pella Sarah of the NFL network is saying the Broncos will interview forty Niners quarterback coach Rick scan. I skin garafolo him for their offensive coordinator job. Monday key assistant for Kyle Shanahan since their days in Atlanta's here and jello had a big hand getting Nick Mullins ready to roll this. Let me read you some more this article this is from Jeff Jeff Jeff leg walled. And I think chef who was part of this as well. Just before Fangio was formerly introduces the team seventeenth head coach Thursday here and extended sit down with kubiak and Elway said he planned to meet with kubiak later that day when Fangio was asked about the possibility of kubiak joining the coaches, taffy said, none of the assistant coaching positions have been determined yet. And until things are hired out in ironclad. I prefer not to comment on that. But Gary is a hell of a coach. He's a guy that I've respected throughout my career in the NFL having competed against him at several stops. If Gary is interested than I'm interested and Thursday afternoon. Elway had added. I know Vick met with Gary on Thursday. I haven't had a chance to get a sense of that meeting. I have to talk to Vic I think Gary would like to go on the offensive side. But none of this has been settled interesting so already drama for Vic Fangio after I joked earlier just come on home Vic. Did say as rip up the contract, and I'm going back to Chicago to be the DC, but don't hold your breath. Pass out. The bears are reportedly according to the Tribune interviewing Chuck Pagano today. Former colts head coach who was a DC in Baltimore in a defensive assistant as well. So he is being interviewed today. According to the Chicago interesting that. I mean again, and maybe it's just doing your due diligence. But I found it interesting. If they in fact were very much sold on just hiring from within with Donna tell that you'd even. I mean, wouldn't you think that that that would have been announced fairly quickly? Yes. If that was kind of a loved. I mean now look his contract does need to be negotiate correct? Because he's out of contract. But still does it say something that Donatello got the first interview. Yeah. But the bringing in other people, by the way, Chuck Pagano as you said he was the secondary coach in Baltimore from two thousand eight to two thousand ten he was only there coordinator for one year two thousand eleven the following year. He was named head coach of the the Annapolis colts. Right. And I told you the story off the air was talking to my good, buddy. Jason will the about Adana tell if you remember a dinatale was a former defensive coordinator with Atlanta for more. Notably for bears fans. He was the Packers defensive coordinator for four years. And I forgot about this. He was the defensive coordinator when the Packers played the eagles in the infamous fourth in twenty six game. It was Donovan McNabb correct? Freddie Mitchell right for they had forth in twenty six, and we believe it was the conference championship game. I think it was where if if they stop them from for picking up four th the twenty six it's the Packers going to another Super Bowl with farm at the time. I believe I think so and they picked up the fourth and twenty six now Wilby was telling me that Donna tell wanted a blitz and the Sherman scapegoated him. So I don't know like a lot of people referred to add fourth in twenty-six Donatello. But according to will d Welby was telling me that that wasn't on Donna towel. And that, you know, something the Dan Durkin told us the maybe the bears wanna more aggressive TC. And I told you that Rex Ryan, and I'm not saying that would be the candidate. But Rex Ryan was very critical. Of the bears defense on the final sixty are dry. I noticed it as well. They just didn't look like they were they're aggressive cells or they they kind of sat back and caught a little bit. But. By the way, pa- Ghana's best year was when leading a defense when he had the the coordinator job with the ravens a two thousand eleven Baltimore had the NFL's best defense best defensive Devi away. So and I think that year also they lost on a field goal in the postseason so tie those two when was that it was the two thousand and twelve AFC championship game their season. Ironically, ended on a missed field goal. But he had sons Ray Lewis and Ed Reed that were part of his crew. I mean, it's like I said. They were the best defense in the NFL that year in Devi away. Art the bears. The best TV. League. So pretty interesting, and it will say like a lot of people didn't like Pagano is a head coach does that mean he still can't coordinate a defense. I'm not sure I don't know what kind of coaches, I'm not sure either. I think they had more of it. If you go back to the time when he was the head coach of the colts. My recollection is they had more of a talent issue is much more. So than even coaching issue. And that's why a lot of people held Grigson accountable. And that's why a lot of people are giving so much credit currently to Chris Ballard because he flipped that roster every pretty quickly. To not only get to the playoffs who would have thought that. But now, they're they're a lot of people think they could be Kansas City this.

"Remember that she's burger video that was nuts who cert list and everything like he got hassle. I could be that one for. The number one story on good morning football is what? I think I think it's right now it's eagles saints that eagles saints game this weekend because we're all caught in this prison in between. What is real? And what we see which is the saints. The saints are at home. They have way too many good players for we want to believe in something. We want to believe in false. We want to believe I mean, it sounds. It's almost like we want to believe in magic. We have shrine setup on good morning football, which we offer sacrificial mementos to Nick foles. And last the last thing we offer to the shrine last week was was oven mitts, Freddie, Mitchell. And sure enough they win because someone gets their mitts on a kick. And then we think the magic might be real. So there's no flash photography allowed. You have to believe there's a jacket required policy. We want to believe in magic. And we keep debating because some of us do some of us. Don't what also we were talking about this this morning. We wanna believe in Cuyler Murray playing football. Okay. Like we. That's we want great story to whether it's true or not we want to believe that because that's going to spice up to. Draft. I wanna believe he can play both. Then I mean Dionne and bow like, I was I cut my teeth on that as a sports. Yeah. Why can't we have that anymore? The money and the injury ready because they weren't quarterbacks. Yeah. In I think when your quarterback is not committed, you know, he's got to be committed year round. And I think when you would see that. And then if he didn't play well, then you say, well, you know, he's spending too much time on base with two for five for the royals. They should have been. We're gonna watching tape or something like that. It's such a buzzkill because I would love to see. But if you had him drafted by Oakland. He's already drafted by the as and you've got the raiders with three first-round draft picks. Couldn't you see a scenario where and their AAA team the as AAA changes in Vegas, so okay? By the time he gets the starting job. They would be in Vegas. Get to play baseball. I'm loving this. I mean, the poster with Bo with the shoulder pads and the bat like overhead at that. That was my I don't I loved the onto. And I wonder I wonder what role Gruden were plan that because if he's old school. I don't know where you come out. Then either comes out, and I can't appreciate a guy can do both. I remember guys to both or using my full commitment. I want you plan for the as I want you here. Twenty four seven it's a buzz kill. Yeah. And I think that that's a valid point. When you think of Gruden because he's the wildcard. And you're not sure if he it still feels like he's old school, even though you know modern times, and I think that's going to decide if he's successful. Not is. Can he adapt to today? It feels like Gruden is still back ten fifteen years ago. It does and from everything from the way he talks to the way he dresses and everything, and it's like, we're also the other the number one topic now is like we're sitting this this ridiculous crazy almost farcical coaching spree that we're going on. It's. I live. I live up in the suburbs up here. All right. And I have a five year old, son. And I'm just now entering this realm. Whereas parents the switchblades coming out, meaning they want the best for their kids. They want the personal coast. They want the private instructor. They want the specialist, and I feel like these young quarterbacks are the kids like Jared Goff and Baker Mayfield and all of them. Every one of these owners now says this is my private my, pride and joy, my son. I want to raise them up to be an all star. I have to get the special instructor. No matter what I have to pay.
