"Joel then will be returning to the big chair on Monday. I'll be back in my normal sports slashed a sidekick role will be up and running coming up on Monday, but we head into the weekend, I mentioned that we talked with Kevin Carr about it. AMC theaters are starting to open up. In fact, they had the 15 Cent movie night and Stuff like that last night throughout central Ohio. So what? Entertainment option for you, Of course, socially dissonance joined by Marc Summers in Columbus business first for his weekly visit. Right now, I noticed Mark yet Ah piece this week about pro Musica orchestra launching a concert. Siri's, albeit social distance, but another entertainment option as we try to battle through Cove in 19 here. Damn it is that it's interesting that we've had no music this summer. Everybody has missed it. There hasn't been a lot of good news on the entertainment front and then pro music has been working for several months now. Trying to come up with a socially distance plan for putting live music together, and now they have that they're gonna have seven outdoor concerts from August 30th September 11th. 100 people per event, and these will be outdoors in parts and give Hannah the Ohio Village in Dublin and even at White Castle's new Open Air event Center on Good Ale, So it's a little bit of good news in the entertainment world in some live music and in Columbus again, So Mark, how are they going to do it? In terms of you said 100 people per concert, I guess. Limiting the ticket sales like 100. It's cut off our they make sure that they don't overfill. Yeah, that's exactly how they're going to do it. They usually play at the Franklin Park Conservatory, and they usually can get up to what the 2000 people there for show and they're really severely going to limit it. To make sure that the people who come to hear the music will be spread out and that there'll be very little chance of contracting the virus because of social distancing. So, yeah, they think they can do this. They're hoping that this will lead to other events that they could be a blueprint for other groups that are looking for some sort of outdoor venues. Thiss May you sound like a silly question, but are they limiting the number of musicians too? I mean, I would think they would have to be socially distanced as well. Yeah, they are. They're gonna have them at least 6 ft apart. There won't be the full complement of musicians. It'll be a smaller group, but they're still promising. They're working out all the details now, but say That they're looking for music that really fit smaller groups that it'll still be a powerhouse performance, and people will get mused live music again and the dates again. Ah, it's because it's coming up. You said end of August beginning September. Yeah, it's August 30th through the September 11th on DH. There'll be seven performances altogether. And people can go online music and find out more of the details. But yeah, they're goingto Spread this out over about 11 days or 12 days and Yeah, it's it's really interesting and musical, like all the other performing groups has really suffered in the spring and summer, when they usually have all these outdoor events and musical concerts, having to put everything on hold trying to do things virtually And now pro Musica says they found this waited to provide outdoor live music again visiting with Marc Summers in Columbus Business first here on news radio, 6 10 W TV, and you know one of the things that when when my wife and we're looking Tio Go on vacation she frequently goes to Airbnb looking for, you know, places it stay throughout the course of the country. Regarding Colombus, though he had a piece this week about Columbus House parties, and I don't know basically, people abusing the social distance saying and the large group thing so Airbnb has kind of put a stop to it. Talk a little bit about that. Yeah, well, this is their nation Wide band. There is no more parties and no more large events and Airbnb sites and then Columbus alone in Franklin County. There are 300 plus Airbnb sites that you can rent from and a bunch of them. Have you know that people like tohave events and parties? Summer small events that it may be a bridal shower but summer Ready and a number of Corona virus outbreaks have been tied to some of these larger parties and other cities. So Airbnb announced this week that is a global ban on parties and events. They're capping occupancy of 16 and then saying You cannot have a party or a large event of these air BMPs will be shut down, and it's something that the health departments have been warning about. It's something that the governor has talked about it in the in the state that large events or just a bad idea right now, an Airbnb does not want to be part of that, where they're providing the space. For a party or a large events, so they're just saying no more. You know it's interesting because we're seeing it, You know, with college campuses coming together, and you know, Notre Dame's had an outbreak, and it's been tied to a campus party. Purdue University Actually this week suspended three dozen studios. Students for attending a party and breaking covert 19 protocol. So you know when Airbnb I guess they have an opportunity to say not on our watch their you know their can't do much about college kids and then Fred arising in getting together, but interesting that Airbnb is taking the stand that it is. Yeah, agreed. It's so hard. Ah, in and around college campuses toe have that kind of that kind of large group of young people and some of them not being smart and hosting these large parties. But Airbnb wants no part of it..

"Mostly on news radio six ten and W. TV at eight to one W. TV those are never talk about you are doing on this fifteenth of February can you believe that a good MC one I he only had a few minutes to spell this morning he's actually working on a project this warning us we took some time out and city view Expendables with this but super nice guy and is is sister the same way then if you haven't seen the show you can go online and check it out but it's restored by the fords and that they really do take also unusual projects his home and I don't wanna get into about his home he took on an old warehouse and renovated into his home is absolutely gorgeous he is very creative the way they put it is that she's the house Whisperer she's a designer and she's done a lot of things is just been out to LA and and other things and like you said I think was part of the Brady bunch they when they read it read it at home very good in and as she is the color of the brains behind the project and Steve this course has a carpenter's girls and she says that whatever she comes up with this crazy or over the top ideas or whatever he brings it to life they say was very creative and able to bring it to life for her and brother sister team in a this work well together but if you like to learn more about him just go to HDTVs restored by the fords and you can learn all about their their lifestyle how this all started in the eye third season for this and so there'd and is fun they just have a good time to relax and kind of funny and enjoyable so I think they'll put on a pretty good show for you as well and that's on again on February twenty ninth at the three o'clock at the home stage an answer your questions in the you can take pictures with with them as well all right back to the garden for life we should go on a two one WTVN mark good morning our around our area good how are you doing today thanks for always get back with me on email that sometimes I'm a little slow but I get to you eventually you're right on this week so I appreciate it I had the unique experience yesterday about getting in to see a green house that was actually up and running right now and I tell you what that's just amazing to see all that green and it was just a great way to let the spirit is walking in a greenhouse or like the Franklin conservatory something like the Franklin park conservatory it's amazing how that gives a little vitamin always say vitamin G. to get the dry spell those plants this time of the year it is it's a heck of a boost for your health no doubt the downside of it was now I get that it's just our plans over were a long ways away exactly but at least you know that if you recognize that so that's good so what we think and what end of March maybe middle end of March intimate as well it's published take a little bit longer if you think about tomatoes if you're gonna plant may fifteenth let's say usually it's about six weeks or so from the time they germinate to the time they're ready to think outside in the acclimate to the plant so if you come back six weeks that put you right about the the end of the meal and takes you back through April so route the last week of March the pepper steak another week or two so now your mid March for those if you like the plan will but earlier you know mid March year earlier March would be fine but yeah you're talking mid to late March to get a start on that and that's again may fifteenth planting you know if you plant later starred little later plan earlier plans startled earlier but I just always tell folks you I'd rather get stuck with some smaller plans to be able to play a little bit later than these things that are structured out and ready to go and I'd only place to go with because the weather's not right yeah that's a big key is making sure they don't stretch out get Spain like and if they do I mean you still plan if you still plan de but but either way I still rather not have to do that so correct all right well thank your operation everything Armonk always a pleasure good talking to you thanks for the emails and again then you feel free to email me I'm a right this time here usually can get back to you in a fairly reasonable amount of time because you know only get a hundred emails a week rather than three hundred as we get the spring time not being facetious although the three hundred the spring time I'm not because that's usually the way it is try to answer as many as I can and I think the thing about emails questions is that if it's a picture or something to identify I'm a lot of times you get can get back to you right away if I can you know look at it so yep that's what it is your right back to you as a quick answer I usually can get back to you love fashion of it takes a little time to sit down actually type out a long answer for you sometimes I do have tip sheets and somebody asked me a couple weeks ago you know you said you talk about your tip sheets why don't you have those on your website somewhere so that I can go what kind of file through those and pick up your a tip sheets and I said you know it's a good question I just called it's it's tough to do that and I also get the it whether you answer this or your staff I kind of chuckle sometimes because my staff is me I am the one who takes care of that so a simple website I heard they take care of all that so anyway I do want to mention this for folks that I don't know if they're where this in a year where in the suburbs you know I heart has an app there at the I. R. I. heart app the you can actually download on your phone was free and listen to our show no matter where you are in the world I have a nephew Connor who is representing the United States armed services in the Middle East right now he's over in Saudi Arabia anyone over about I know three months ago or so when they were in Kuwait for while another up Saudi Arabia doing whatever but what's interesting is he listens to our shows on Saturday life because he has that I heard apple the cellphone is manifest you can text back and forth which always I just kind of blows me away to think that you can do that while he's there and some days they are allowed to do that but for the most part you are out loud to stay in touch with each other so that's kind of neat how things have changed over the years then I think it Emily I think back to two of two even the Vietnam War we could you know you did have constant you could be in constant contact with the anybody or your family or whatever and of course World War two and World War one where was all you hear from people for me one who knew how long and now he's pick up cell phone and and text back and forth so anyway always feel free to download the iron app is free and then of course the list of you can download our shows the list of live through an app so that is available for you to do that so be sure and the and remember that traffic he sent me the I'll go back to guarding phone lines here he's he was sent me some questions on Sunday morning and he was saying asking about something about the garden and he has started guarding about three or four years ago and got called away but was asked question about do you think it's a good idea thing that's a good idea I said were you coming up with these questions and he sent me back a picture of a fine gardening magazine which is a great magazine fine gardening as a K. forty seven or whatever his rifle is sitting next to each other on the table in front of me so it's a great combo we're not that busy live regarding magazines and do whatever is rare fact when he comes back he's already making his plans when he comes back what is going to for the garden and he's going to be a beekeeper he's decided now to be a beekeeper so guess what I'm sending him books on being a beekeeper so we're gonna get those in the mail to appear another week or so and usually learn study about being a beekeeper so he comes back he can do that but I just I is very interesting and again we have thank him in the hall is all the guys are out there gals are with him they're protecting doing what they do in protecting course us as well and we thank him for all that but just a interesting that that you can do that in today's world David good morning you're in the garden with Ron Wilson hello Mister Wilson I have a question about an evergreen you sure up half a dozen of them I've got as a hedge their seventy years old there was well over grounder there twelve foot tall okay how severely can I cut them back or can I cut them back all the evergreens that are out there you know evergreens really don't most ever result like a real hard pruning but of all the evergreens that are out there Japanese you or taxes is one evergreen that typically responds very well to heavy pruning now I've taken personally six to a foot an old hedge I thought that was an old ages six to eight feet and cut it back to about eighteen to twenty four inches off the ground so there was nothing left besides there would and it took him two years but they flush back out new growth and another year after that they look like a brand new thirty inch hedge I. N. and was totally rigid route rejuvenated now we've also done that and lost a few that did not recover from that so you know you always take a rest when you do a real hard pruning like that but of all the evergreens Japanese you or taxes would be the one that we have the most success with them the best time to do that is coming right out of the winter and early spring before anything starts to happen is to get a call back at that point so that all their energy goes in the flushing out new growth now how far back can you take them if there are twelve feet now if I went back three feet would there still be foliage on the steps very little very little yeah and that's that's the thing that you you know you could do it over a two or three year period where you would take a back a couple feet open them up so by taking all because I'm sure they've been sheared right they were here about ten or fifteen years ago and it's been a long time and then they get shot up I neglected to move so now they're they're just feathered out so as well okay long raunch okay yeah that's fine if if you took a back just to open a month so so my gets down to the inside of the plant you may start to see full we start to break to the inside and if that happens the next you take a back up another third of the way so now you've gotten halfway down the plant and then you could go another third the next year if you wanted to just a gradual basis you know trying to force out new new falls down inside the plant supported as you continue to cut it back otherwise if you go back enough where there's nothing left like I say you always take a risk that they may not come back out so that's kind of you but otherwise you would be back into the foliage back into the branch is still leaving a little bit of foliage breaks out lower the next easy do it again next issue to a given kind of work it back down to a smaller size she and as far as the season I'm good until until things start greening up all through yeah eight zero yeah you're good to go you know I certainly wonder you know March what twenty second is or somewhere around there is the beginning of spring and it and it depends on what the weather's like but the whole goal is to get them cut back so that before the new new growth has started to come out so they put all that energy into the new growth and so everything the apostle of that point so late winter and I say late winner again it's weather pending but mid to late March you're probably still in real good shape good good thank you so much I want to tell you I very much enjoy listening to every weekend thank you I appreciate that appreciate your help you too and good luck with everything and again that's that in him lock does a pretty decent job you know I've taken some old hemlock some nasty looking hemlock and cut those back still leaving some foliage on the plant tomatoes on the plant and have them recover fairly nicely that I'm going to do that as well box would not too bad Holly's blue Holly's in some cases cutback card and get in the flesh back up but the Japanese you free needle foliage definitely one of the best ones juniper's you kind of backwards no full was left your chances of getting a series of leave paired needle back out probably about many years of not me leaning back up about ninety ninety five percent yes they won't come back out but the Japanese use one of the best try but you always take a risk when you do that quick break we come back I will continue phone lines are open for you a two one WTVN eight hundred six ten WTVN here on newsradio six to the Batavia traffic and weather for Columbus WTVN the second five star county regional community corrections center scabies arrested authorities say Joshua Bingham was taken back into custody Friday he didn't jade Miller were caught while chasing Drake Michael Fisher invent some black man on the run the five escaping the facilities were first for windows.

"Playlist. All right. So we're talking about a couple of different things in the next five minutes, and we always appreciate your involvement is well, six one four eight two one nine eight six six one four eight two one nine eight six a couple of different things. What is your favorite war movie? And what's on your bucket list this summer? Yeah. Because those are two things we're thinking about because of his Memorial Day weekend. And we are honoring the memory of those who died in the fight, but also on top of that we're thinking about the summer and starting the summer a lot of folks are getting out of school and have a holistic things they wanna do. So let's do the movies. I you have a top ten list I do have a top ten list. But Joe you're fist pump in control room there. What do you think is going to be on it? And what is your all time favorite? There's a lot of good ones are going to be on it, but my all time favorite my all time favorite movies of all time. Americ-. Sniper. That was so sad because it was based on a true story. Chris kyle. But that's not on this list. It's not. Well, it's, it's fairly new more. The older ones are going to be on or the later ones. So what do you think is going to be on this list? Same saving private Ryan. It has to be like, number one says, duh. Are you reading in Maekelae? Don't sheet list. I can't read upside down can't write very well. What else Black Hawk Down fake one? Maybe we were soldiers. We'll callers we want your opinion two six four eight to one WTVN six one four eight two one nine eight six. The best war movie of all time, shall I give the less Michaela? Go ahead. Would you guess Michaela? I have a couple that I'm looking for on there. What is the one Joe? I'm not going to remember. It was really good where they captured Osama bin Laden. Oh, that's I mean killed them. Yeah. They. Zero dark thirty. Movie. Great movie. Zero dark thirty on their no. Okay. Here you go. There's some of these, I have not heard of number ten all quiet on the western front number nine Braveheart. Yeah. Eight pats of glory, seven platoon, six Patton, five full metal jacket. I've never heard obscene it. Who's in that? I don't remember it's an older movie, Schwarzenegger, is it? I've only seen a once and I like I don't feel an older movie for you guys. Guest this one saving private. Ryan my kids actually saw that in school, this past week, they made sure it was okay with the parents for them to see it because it's a little bit violent, but they wanted to show that to sophomores, number three Lawrence of Arabia. Number two, Schindler's List. Yeah. That actually had twelve Oscar nominations and won seven Oscars, and then the number one war movie of all time, Apocalypse, Now really, according to this list, that was eight EMMY or eight Oscar nominations. At one two of them. You know, I have a hard time watching war movies to watch. Emotionally from the sadness of it. And then from the violence of it, I actually have not seen saving private Ryan because of that, something that I'm concerned about band of brothers. I only watched little bit. You know, then with the library mentioned that with Marcus, I have trouble. It's not that I, I think about it. I you know, and I do those things for Morial day or other times of the year honor those, but it's just really hard to watch a really, really sensitive to it. So switching gears a little bit. What's on your bucket list for this summer? Do you have a lot of things plan Michaela. You know what I don't yet? But friend of ours, calling Barbara cultivate, Columbus. She emailed me something that everybody was asking her about she has an ice cream trail that she's plotted out in Ohio. I wonder if we should ask Matt McLaren about that from Ohio travel and tourism they have one themselves, but Colleen is created she's made up her own because they had a Donut trail they did have a Donut. Matt may wanna talk to Colleen. Yes. So she emailed, that to me, I always get a little worried about bucket list, because I feel like there's pressure to perform in one summer and I had a friend, one time, whose bucket list was insane Mindy. She wrote it out. She's a teacher has already. Have you do all of that? Amy and one summer charitable, I still felt like it was impossible. Is there anything on yours? Just travelling watching baseball play softball. That's buck. I mean I know. But that's what we do. That's what our summer is. It isn't bucket list material. But no, I guess I don't I'm I'm boring. Well, there's the reason wanted to talk about Louis center. Moms the Facebook group had this big post where everybody was sharing what they're gonna do. Young's dairy farm was a favorite people wanted to make it out to Young's, which I don't know if you've ever been that direction yellow springs, I have been in that direction. Yeah, it's really, really good. And the children's garden at Franklin park conservatory because that's fairly new, I think it only opened up last year. Mom said there was a big article in the paper today to that lists, a lot of things to do across Ohio, and we are blessed in this great state of Ohio, that there is so much to do with your family. You just have to broaden the horizons and go out there and do it. You do get that newspaper article a you really need to do that at times, like if that was there today. And you know, it's one of those things if you're in some of these groups some of these local groups like Louis center. Her mom's asked the question see what everybody's doing because don't you feel like when you get into those groups that you find out a lot of interesting information you didn't know about your own community. There's no doubt and people can comment and join in on conversations and you do learn so much. He learned so much, not just about the area but about each other to you do and coming up something, you should put on your bucket list, apparently, Jim Henson, his made his way and his legacy is made its way to Cosi. And Dr Frederick Berkeley is in with this just opened up this week Mindy. Just wait to hear about it cannot, this is going to be a good one. So stick around folks for this one. "Weather wise. What we've got going on is a little cold front is going to push through this morning, and usually cooler temperature will ring some of that moisture right out of the year. So we have seen improving conditions through the morning, then quite got to where you are hanging. There is coming and then we've got rain some of the models. I've seen. What you know bucks? Put up on Twitter in some of his feeds this morning, like two two and a half inches of rain on the day tomorrow. And it seems like middle of the day is when you go, of course, I spent time washing the cars over the weekend. So I kind of get what I get. But it just seemed like, you know, that batch of snow we got last Friday. I don't know what was on the roads. But all my cars just looked awful. My wife's car my son's Carmine. So got out there and hit them at least the rain should wash some of that away. But you know, I think back to the end of last year anytime I'm out trying to play golf it was like mud bowl after mudballs seemed like a couple of years a couple of a couple months at the end of the season that it was just never anything but wet so will we get out of that? I know a lot of people don't care because it's warmer. It's february. So we're happy. It's nuts. Snow, but again, we're keeping up to date, traffic and weather on the tens here. Newsradio six ten WTVN did have one school delay this morning taste valley was onto our because of fog no morning preschool down there this morning. Of course, the list is always available to you at six ten WTVN dot com. You can get it on demand there type in keyword. Closings. It's powered by lifeline of Ohio. A couple of interesting things this morning. One of which Tripadvisor says Columbus, one of the top ten destinations in the country. That's pretty cool stuff, and, you know, live in here, you might think. Okay. Well, what do they cite? Specifically, they mentioned specifically Franklin park conservatory great place to explore. They talk about short north gallery, hops, and then, you know, talking about Rena district brewery district things like that just, you know, really sticky good environment, and you can get to it pretty easily. So come in the John Glenn make your way into downtown. And there's lots to do. So that's pretty cool. So thanks trip for recognize what we've known for years because we live here to the doctor William useful story. As it continues to fan out as we understand it nine Nell proposed wrongful, death, lawsuits and more and more people being named. So it just kind of has the feel that that may grow a little bit. The number of lawsuits. But when you look at that interesting note from our partners over at channel six they found a former co worker didn't name them. But just talked about what a great doctor. Dr Houston is caring thoughtful. Some of the words that were used to describe him, and that flies in the face of most of what we've seen here of lake. So again, we're keeping an eye on that story as we continue to roll. But the number now nine as many as nine wrongful death lawsuits against Dr Hugh. So we know pope Francis is in Abu Dhabi. He's at desired sports city stadium. He's going to hold the first mass by pope on the Arabian peninsula. They say there's about a million Catholics on the Arabian peninsula. They expect about one hundred twenty thousand people to attend. We know too big throngs of people cheering as a New England Patriots get their do. They'll be paraded through the streets of Boston today and much like here. Temperatures very mild. So they expect a lot of people to come out and just enjoy the day yell for the patriots celebrating their sixth Super Bowl win with the measles story going on in Washington. And again that that kind of conversation flares up vaccinations, do not vaccinate or to do it. Whatever the American Academy of pediatrics they're releasing their updated twenty nine hundred child and adolescent immunization schedule they say, the most notable change is updating the recommendations for the live attenuated influenza vaccine, the L A is sometimes preferred especially in kids because it's a nasal spray rather than a needle. And I don't know too many people that liked the needle, but they say data from twenty ten through twenty seventeen. Indicates that the nasal spray lacks effectiveness among two to seventeen year olds. So your kids don't wanna hear that they say for this flu season, new viral components have been added, and they say that will hopefully improve efficiency, the LA IV the nasal spray. They say it's recommended for none pregnant people between two and forty nine years of age. But if you want officiant get the injection, they say that's the best way.

"Our cities have annual events and festivals. Well worth the trip some are experiencing a resurgence of culture, and entertainment, and what they say specifically about us. So you got to go to the Franklin park conservatory and botanical gardens the topiary garden relax to beautiful stroll among flowers unless plant life explored downtown with a local expert on a Columbus short north walking tour. Learn some history galleries stop by other local hot spots. So I mean, if you're a hopper. You know that that's absolutely money. And I don't think I would limit it to their. I mean, you know, we're so close with a lot of times, you don't think about it. It's just like those festivals that happened all over central Ohio. If you live close to unusual, you don't go because you feel like it's so close have been there you got to go to one farther away. They're just all great. So really well done. And you know, when you got an entity like trip advisor saying this is a good spot. Then it just kind of amplifies what you think about Columbus. Right. Would you have one school not pass along this morning, six ten WTVN dot com? Type in keyword closings. You can follow along its shortlist, though, just one school taste valley. Two hour delay. No morning preschool there as well. I guess it's fog thick fog. That's keeping them out Corsellis, powered by lifeline of Ohio our partners over at channel six this morning. They have a story up the continuing story of Dr William Houston and all the wrongful death lawsuits that are up one former coworker who at this point to my eye unnamed. Says the doctor Houston was a caring, compassionate, excellent. Physician. Says it makes me very sad to hear of another. Wrongful death, suits, so far at least nine wrongful death. Lawsuits have been filed against the doctor in the hospital as well as various pharmacists, and nurses, alleging patients were giving fatally potentially fatal doses of sentinel. Sixteen people now known and that's part of the thirty four that are identified by the hospital. And again, those numbers are amazing. When you hear what an appropriate doses, they do it in micrograms and some of them eight ten twelve microgrammes and the doctor had him push eight hundred even one thousand micrograms of federal. That the claims are wildly inappropriate and lethal. So there's the update at least one coworker says retro Houston was an excellent physician and a caring physician, and that certainly seems to fly in the face of what we heard with these long full death law..

"WTVN Get a little funk in. Your junk here this afternoon I'm, Dave man in. For Mark blazer and joining me on the line right now Mike gone dacas and Mike what, is going on these people wanna start reaching their hands in our pockets and they wanna do a, ticket tax proposal. For all kinds of places and. You're not in favor I, I don't think I'm in favor what, can you tell, us why I think, most of the, Columbus is not, in favour, either this is another nationwide arena bail out on the backs. Of the, tax Bill you see. My friend city hall the arts council, they, want to put a seven. Percent ticket tax on every single ticket in Columbus include movie theaters, hockey, clippers, church about Finger abandoned local boss seven percents tax golf, courses even membership Cosco membership Seven percents equal Their figures not ours fourteen million dollars of taxpayer, money a year a lot, of nationwide arena and then a lot of it going to be arts and. Keep in mind the Franklin comedy central ties to not want to have to pay for nationwide arena and tragically we today because a politician said, we had to and now they want another. Bail out for and so like if I'm buying a, concert ticket, for you know we'll just say the Rolling Stones are gonna play. At the horseshoe I gotta pay my ticket master fee which has already, out of control and then another seven percents on, top, of. That yes sir The stones is about one hundred fifty, bucks and you're gonna pay the thirty five forty, at, TicketMaster Keep in mind wider arena Dollars building. Fee for every, single tickets Arena go on top of that three dollars for nationwide to be another seven percent The average family you know have four people. Mike we're not going to be able to afford to go to these events anymore it's going to cosign Franklin park conservatory every Well I was. Gonna say just now Columbus referring, to. Be, passed if, this goes for the. Ohio State fairgrounds is in their Columbus zoo, and aquarium, so I mean, you're, really not kidding and you said movie theaters to right so I mean you. Can't escape this this is going to be What does I I like the arts I'm not an anti art, guy what are. They gonna do, with all this money. What are what do they got, on. Their, mind to, spend this on what. You can't answer that Chris Chunk of the current. Columbus hotel bed tax and we have to hire? Tax in the mid west full annually with the bench and different things going on in the city and You're already and now they want to just fourteen million more than we asked him why The director because it's our. Turn I hope Wow The arrogance of. That So, you know the Columbus raping. Income tax every year we. Have another county Ballard miss officials want more. Money at the school Columbus school sprays the school taxes several. Years ago every year it's another -nother in how? What point is it, gonna be. The straw the back I think. It's just ticket tax Michael dacas joining me spokesman for advocates for responsible taxation and just to, be clear to Mike there are artists concert promoters and other member members of the local arts community veterans on. Board. With, us either correct. Oh you nailed it so there's been Republicans today was the third and final Local local musician decimate? Our business because I, ten bucks. To get into Europe at a. Local bar you know we can barely give him enough money to pay for their gas to, come to our venue and now you want church seven percent more lawyers and accountants dip as such this is. A. Diverse, coalition of people. All different races creeds and colors coming together saints enough Urging them not to do we will go to ballot, and let the voters decide, the school Two more money to do with the library they. Have to go to, the ballot the voters decide why should the arts get a free pass so as passes tax I promise you. And I will lead this effort to get it on the ballot and let the residents decide we did this when the reached a. Couple of years ago and we tax seventy two thirty and. I'm betting you're right now, cheeseburger your favorite place will be packed seventy two thirty as well and then just to clarify I. Mean the only, the only things escaping this tax would be, high? School, and collegiate sporting events so you're you're you're Buckeye, tickets aren't going to be. Affected right yeah because Ohio losses a company now wasn't Ohio advice So you can't tax, the? Buckeyes, cracks Ohio haiku athletics otherwise they would be included If your church Christmas hasn't Brexit the doors just to raise money, for, the church. That would have to be Is this just in in Columbus proper or I mean is it. Gonna affect. Grandview and and, you, know Dublin or is it what's the cutoff as far, as geographical perspect- often. Amazing question so right now currently Columbus can only pass something in the city of Columbus but here's the thing Saying well Columbus passes out to pass a countywide to make. Thirty across. The board so, the, movie can tell you don't have an advantage over the, movie theaters in commerce Then it's cheaper to go to, a movie theater in in Dublin anywhere else we'll be in Columbus but here's the thing. All of us in central Ohio regardless if you live in the. City or not because so many, of, the events are downtown or wherever they may be within the city so. This will only apply within the corporate limits of Columbus now but I again the signals Even that this will go. Countywide Quander facets we need to draw a, line? In the sand bath so so what is, the next mile marker were looking for then. When when does the next. Shoe drop on this well within the next several weeks the members of Columbus council mayor coming back from their summer recess. They get, up, and. So I guess bring this up, and then there's gonna be public airing on I'm encourage everyone to come down to Columbus right the city council members call them. Email them, our Facebook page advocates. For responsible tech station we'll have to. Date. Information they need to hear from each. Of us, because if we don't tell them how we feel they're going, to pass, it all right Mike gone. Dacas appreciate your time this afternoon and we'll maybe just check back, in with. You in a couple, of weeks and see where the situation sits at that point all right grateful for this opportunity thank you, so much appreciate the time Mike I that just sounds stunning to me I mean another. Thirty percent tax on top of your ticket that no it's a. It's a seven, percent tax Excuse me seven percent? Tax, on tickets and when when, you figure you know go into a big show like we're saying, let's just say. It's the you know the stones or somebody at at at the horseshoe you're going. To have to pay your ticket master fee, and? Then this and it really is gonna price, people out of being able to do stuff. Just go to the movie. Theater they're going to tack on another wanna turn into the San Francisco of the midwest where you know everything is exorbitantly. Expensive because, there's, fourteen. Layers of fees and taxes and, all the you know look I'm glad to live in Columbus I love being here but this is not something this is not. Something that, you know you can. Get by the will of the people. I. Mean I remember learning I'll fighting a. War over, something about no taxation without representation and Mike's right this needs, to be, put to a vote let's The people. Decide on this used, to the arts council doesn't just get to bypass everyone in give us a big middle finger because it's their turn. Because it's, their turn and, then strike some shady deal with city council know everything about that process is. Just like it's wrong it's un-american man well. I Yeah I'm just I'm flabbergasted by when, you sit there and really look at the impact, of, that people are just going to pick up and they'll drive. To I mean you're go to Lancaster to go to the movies I would be worse the savings right there I love the blue jackets they are literally my second favorite professional sports team but if. We knew, now, what we know that yeah nationwide. Arena how this. Whole thing was going to go down I'm not so sure I would have been in favor of the the way it went because all you gotta do is get the deal done and then just worry about the fallout. And the bull I mean that's that's the that's the. Business model you're. Absolutely, right E- even with moving the Columbus Crew and stuff and and the other thing too is that you know you'll get people trying to position this. As well, you're, one of these Neanderthals that doesn't. Love the arts I like to I like the arts I like to be, entertained in. Many different facets but it doesn't mean I want you digging in my pocket for more and more. And more money traffic.

About their society is simply Columbus Day lilies dot org that's Columbus Day lilies dot org I was at the OSU turf plots. This week Off lane and Karnak there it's always. Fun brings back old memories when when I went to Ohio State also like looking at the Barnes that's a lot of friends that were, involved with the egg Barnes as well but going out to the plots and taking a look at the grass is. Out, there and all the work that they're doing and experimenting and you get caught up and you're there with a lot of lawn care professionals and hear, what's going on, there I I, was really impressed because the one. Of the last talks that they had. At the in the afternoon was getting everybody up to speed on bees and Honey bees and native, bees and I thought it was. Great it, was a lot of great questions a lot, of things that folks, still don't know about the, bees that they were able to, answer and I. Thought that was outstanding but again going through and looking at what they're doing they're, at the plots the new types of grasses the newer besides pre emergent. Herbicides things like. That I thought what was interesting. Is that as I'm listening to what they're doing And let's say for instance they're doing an experiment on crabgrass control or whatever They take a crabgrass control in turf type tall fescue they take a plot that they have of turf type. Tall fescue and they stress. It out and how do they stress it out they mo- at really low. So they. Mowed at about an inch and a half less than two inches all right so it totally. Stresses out the turf type tall. Fescue crabgrass starts to grow near the. Water make sure he's got plenty moisture crabgrass comes? Up in in the now they can experiment, as, far. As you know, what what, crabgrass killers are the best to use etcetera etcetera But the point I got out of that other. Than the fact that new chemicals that are coming along, but the point that I got out of that that I wanted to share today is that how, did they create the situation for. The crabgrass and other ways because they're doing other week control they're they're. Doing other like nuts and things like that how what. Did they do to create that situation that they're going to have these tests to go on there at the trial they the the. Sod trials well you know. What they stressed out the grass so it made it thin out so that. The weeds. Move in and I just kind of chuckled to myself and said we talk about this all. The time on our show about. The the whole thing about long care. And you want a nice look there's no doubt? About the whole thing about lawn care is, cultural, practices Doing what's right cultural practices to keep it as thick as possible now obviously right turf right location Bob LA I understand that but not stressing long keeping an easy can fewer weeds, fewer insects and definitely fewer weeds so by mowing it. Low and stressing it out they thinned it out naturally and then let the crabgrass move in so if you mow on a, higher level three to three? And, a half sometimes? Four inches high that's.
