"Sports leader. Yeah. Giants baseball back in our lives, Buster Posey back in our lives there he was yesterday got a knock to look good behind the dish. Azi. The Giants took on the Angels in a Was seven inning ballgame. That's what they're doing now. Polly 70 ball games next, calling these things here and you'll get seven and like it or are also calling innings after 20 pitches is is kind of kind of bonkers out there. But, ah lot of stuff to talk about with. Well, pretty much the best baseball writer going. Our guy John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle, The national Baseball columnist covers both the A's and the Giants. He's down to Scottsdale. For us. It's bright and early, he's on the Yuma guest line. Johnny Shea. Dude. Welcome back to Murphy. Mac. How are you, man? Want a job? Good morning, everybody. How are you? How's it going down there? Well, it's unusual except for the actual game itself. I mean, between the lines that looks normal, but everywhere else is a little different. Personally, I just go. Press box Hotel press box hotel. It's not like you. Go to any haunts or drive around or socializes. Although this is Arizona lot of people do that, anyway. Yeah, right. Exactly. But you sent some pictures yesterday. To me. I'm thread of the shuttered Italian grotto and the shuttered pink pony and man that hurt John that does hurt. Yeah, they had been closed already, You know, starting from last year, but the big one this year is Don and Charlie's is like under construction. They flattened it, and now they're supposedly putting up some kind of hotel. At that intersection, And so that's gone. So all the places you are at just a few years ago whether they did this nineties early, two thousands, you know, 2016. They're all gone so You know, and especially the reason I sent you those pictures is Brad Man's and asked me to check him out. You know you and he, the great photographer in the Bay Area have many stories to tell it the grotto right? Yeah, well, for sure involving years and minds friend Pedro Gomez, who served lit that place up like, uh, like few others. He was one of the great regulars there so well, you know, times change. I guess. You know, it's like going looking for looking for two chores in Manhattan or something. You know, I say things things things change they move on. So Well, listen, man, this Giants team were we were just talking about how today's lineup is already out, and you know, it's kind of convenient. It's kind of fun to be able to talk about it, and we're talking about guys like Jason Vossler in the four hole for the Giants today. And and Adam Copeland. I was just talking down the line here during the break about out its He's such a like you couldn't cook him up in a laboratory. Farhaan doesn't want George Springer. He doesn't want Frankie Lynn Door. He doesn't want Trevor Bauer. He wants Jason Vossler right. A kid who is 20 homers in the minors and missed a year. Whatever you know, it's like he's This. This this whole camp and all the pictures. You are slated to go. The Tropeano nose and the Broncos And the band is it seems like 400 loves his his garage sales, doesn't he? What do you think? When you look at this whole, this all encompassing roster that far Hunt's rolled out here on March 1. Well, if they ever sign a guy you never heard of, or you heard of barely or maybe got a cup a cup of coffee or is coming off down here? If he's a hitter, you look at his obp. You know his on base percentage, and not necessarily his batting average was lead these guys they get or might be cheap because they have low batting average, and I'm simple Find things, obviously. And as a hitter, you know, look at the strikeout toe, you know, walk ratio. Number one. You look at his view Load number two. And that's Ah, You know that? That's what excites. You know the masses in the front office when you have guys who you know, like, like the kid Lamont way, Junior e mean he'd never strike that strikes out. He doesn't have a great batting average in the minors, but he gets on base all the time. And you know, he's probably more of a corner outfielder. But what do they need? They need the guy who could bat lefty and who could play center field. So you're not going to spend a lot of money? They're not there yet. They're not. You know, one or two or three big time money acquisitions away from contending with the big boys. So you fill in the spots with, you know the cheaper Versions of those guys and hope and pray. So that's what you're looking at, and Wade played yesterday he made some nice place in center field, and that's exactly what management wants to see out of him because They look at him is maybe a guy who could play around the outfield and get on base A bunch and maybe platoon with to bond out there, while Du Bon also backs up Crawford so everybody's got different roles. You know, it's not The younger boat. See, everyone had a position and in the bullpen, everyone had a role. Well, that's not really the case anymore. No, it Zschau a Pless a more fizz. It's hard as a longtime fan to put your Head around the new style of just these interchangeable parts, and it's gonna be obviously winning will help. We'll see what happens when the season starts. You mentioned a left handed center fielder to platoon. Is a guy playing for them today. That was supposed to be that guy. Steven Duggar, right? I mean, I'm almost like is I don't mean to. I'm not trying to be cruel to the young man here. But Gary Brown comes to mind of a Highly touted center field prospect that didn't pan out and then Duggar comes along and Already the looking for guys like what, Like like Wade to replace him. What's the What's the status? Do you think Yeah, You're right. And, um there was a time W was the top center fielder in the system, And now he's falling on the depth chart. Hey, doesn't necessarily have the pop. He doesn't get out based enough, and he strikes out too much. So those are the things that he's got to improve on. And if he doesn't you're not going to see much of him. Now you look at Wade. Well, he's got a little poppet. He does get on base. You don't expect out too much. So they're kind of opposite. So what do you look for with this management team? You don't look for a doctor. You look for a way so that Z what it's all about, and you talk about the fluidity and and guys. You know who you expected here. I mean, don't go by and the jersey of any of these starting pitchers because the law be free agents at the end of the season. And, uh and and you look around the lineup in most guys, you know, opening day you're gonna be in their thirties, so it's not a young team, and it's not a team that you know. There's a whole bunch of guys. They have long term. It's a team in transition. So you're you're looking for guys just holding positions for now. Well The prospects are, you know, doing their thing and you know, eventually will show up. But, um, yeah, yeah, There's a reason they're not spend a lot of money, and there's a reason they're getting these guys. Man. It's, uh Hey, John..

"Show. And Jack, do you think now is a good time to tell Alfred what's happening tomorrow? I'll let you handle that. Jack will be in for a repeat performance on the initials game. Tomorrow. Road is hurt. Listen, Hal, Fred, My Throat is hurting right now. Yeah, available. Yeah, That's what Okay. I'm not afraid of Jack. Come on with it. Jack. Can't wait to see you tomorrow, buddy. Hey, Jack, is we talk about a sweet talk about pitchers and catchers reporting voice Ian Fernando to teach Junior get this side. $340 million contract extension. We We've seen this dance firsthand here in in Denver with Nolan Aaron Auto, given him the big, big, big money. But what does this do for a player like Trevor Story? Who now that the bar has been set is not going to probably give beginning this team Hometown discount. Well, you know, I will say a couple of things to that one. Um Fernando is a tremendous talent that at a young age and you know, the Padres feel it was worth the investment will See how it plays is it moves across the 14 years? I mean, but I think Trevor is a is a separate entity from Tad TC. I think it's much more about Corey Seager and Frankie Lynn door Hobby Baez and those people. Um, it will be very interesting with Trevor Does he does everything very quietly, Um, except in terms of the clubhouse when he is a very strong leader in his voice is heard much more. Um, I don't really have any sense yet how it's gonna play out with him. Does it appreciably change? Um, the marketplace for all of those great shortstop, So we're gonna be free agents at the end of this year. I think how we handle the pandemic and how baseball comes to their next players agreement has a much impact on Trevor as This Todd teach contract. What? I know. You know, Every year we go into spring training we're looking for Bright spots going going into this year's spring training do you have? Do you have any early indications that we have bright spots that we hadn't really recognized or see on the roster last year? Um, you know, it's a great question. L I mean, I think, Um, uh, We have seen a lot of the kids start to work their way up, so I don't know if there was If there's a surprise name, you know, people have heard about Brendan Rogers for a while. And and Ryan McMann and Garrett Hampson and Sam Hilliard rhyme. L Ta Pia. I think it's much more will. May. I guess if there's one it would be Brendan Rogers. I think you know, here's a guy who has From being drafted third overall to being on all the top lists going through the minors toe have the last two years really not go for him at all because of a shoulder injury. It's kind of. Ah, make it or break it year for Brendan this year, and I think, um, he'll get the chance to play and how he plays. I think in in many ways Helps. Um, either make the lineup a little better than people think it's gonna be or be another hole in the lineup. That's gonna be a challenge. You know, You know the reason I asked you that because Daniel Bard was such a great story from last year and Continued to be bright spot for this team last year and wanted to see you. Have you had any inkling of of management? Or or people around the team with a buzz like that? You know, like, Hey, you never know what could happen. Check out this guy. Yeah. You know, Eller probably would be, you know, in terms of and we'll see how it how it plays, and obviously people are going to say Oh, that's because he was part of the trade. Um, But Buddy was very enthusiastic about, uh, the left hander Gamber that the ball club got in the trade for No. One among all those players. And, of course, buds, a little partial, the left handed pitchers and he was one himself. But, um, I think, but believes that he has a chance to be Better than people think so. Maybe he is a little bit of a surprise. I love the comment that he made today. You know, he's a curve ball pitcher, and you know it is best pitch. You know his fastball spine, but he spins it is Bud says, Boy, he can spin it. And one of the media. People today asked him, um what it was gonna be like throwing a breaking ball at Coors Field and and he said If I was on the moon, I would throw my curveball. So I like that kind of attitude. I jack on the other side. Let's talk about the rest of the rotation for the Rockies because we know how pitching goes. So goes The Rockies as far as the way that they've played. They've never had problems putting runs up. It's stopping the other team from putting runs up. We'll do that, in the other side are great play by play announcer for the Colorado Rockies. Jack Corrigan is our guest. It's big Alan Judge. Oh, okay. Way news radio traffic.

"I got it. I got a hamstring injury. I got a cat problem. I got turf toe. My gotta get better. He's got to get better. He doesn't look at him. He's averaging what 18 19 points game. You should be a 25 26 point. It should be a double double. Every night, he walking out of getting on a bed. He's 27 12 over his career. I don't know. Anyway, so and that's a look at the NBA scoreboard and we will go into the overnights before we do. I had to get some baseball in because to me. It was huge news over the weekend when the Dodgers signed Trevor Bauer The fact that they are plus 3 25 to 1. A real serious to me is absolutely ridiculous. I do not remember a team being Det short. A favorite to win. Well, they couldn't make him a minus. No, they couldn't have. But they should. There are five Cy Young awards in that rotation, ridiculous. And two and three piece Yeah. Three from Kersh, obviously one from Trevor Bauer, one from David Price. They have the best fit starter in the game with David Price. It's good. They have dusted man. Tony Gonsouland coming out of the bullpen? Yep. Unless you trade them, Use them as trade bait, But I don't think they will. I think they keep them because I know, but I don't have to keep him. Yes, And no, I would. I mean, when you look at this go, OK. I can put areas in the bullpen. Let me treat. Dustin May and Gavin looks to the Reds for Luis Castillo. And you anyway, you heading No, Suarez. Don't have to worry about Justin Turner. I know I have a third baseman is gonna they can hit 40 to 50 home runs and I have Oh, by the way, and Louise Castillo, who would be a number one starter on most teams as my number four, but I'm also looking at Couple years from now. Double years ago. I still have either gone stolen or may which everyone? I didn't trade, but I have both. Now I just find them in the spots that David Price and curse shall come out of, and I still have them. That's what I look. You're not gonna Bauer's there for two years. I know that, but I'm not. I don't want to give up my two guys that I believe in because I've kept them for A couple guys that I really don't know. Bauer was so much more important for the Mets to get them the Dodgers and this is why I didn't understand. Steve Cohen is the richest owner in all of baseball. And he said going in were our farm system. Isn't that good? So we're gonna have to throw money at this problem. The top five free agents, DJ the Mayhew, Uh, often and catcher just resigned. Real Thank you. Real Moto. George Springer. Uh uh. Trevor Bauer, one of those guys, you figure was gonna land in New York. They lost on every single They were in the bidding problem. They lost it. I'll bid for Springer by the Blue Jays. LeMay you by the Yankees power by the Dodgers Real Moto by the by the Phillies, although they decided not to go over real Moto because they signed James McCann. So, yes, they traded for Frankie Lynn Door and Coast Marasco. I think Carrasco's have forgotten guy in all of this, but He hasn't done when I thought he was going to do. And if Mets fans were disappointed, I totally get it won't end of the day. You can only offer them the money. They got. Take it right. So I mean, he offered But I mean in the National League, If you ask me, it's all I mean the play authority sewn up. You got the Dodgers, Cardinals and Braves. I think winning the West East and Central now, especially the Braves, re signing Marcelo Zuna. And you have the Mets and Padres. You two wild cards. There's no spot for anybody else. Well, it's it's almost the Larry Bird thing with with the Dodgers. Only Avery walked in locked room, said All right, who's coming in second? Yeah, right now. Doctors like I mean, and if I'm the Padres and my I just spun my wheels had this amazing off season in one fell Superman, nothing but even after doing all that, and you don't believe like I do, But even after doing all that I'm still going okay and And worst of all, it's not that I don't believe you do know is that I don't wanna be cocky about it. It's not me. It's just telling the truth there. They're so much better. And everyone last year. And an ad Trevor Bauer. So now, right before Bauer of the Dodgers were.

"Conversation with one of the newest New York Mets. We're gonna have a conversation with someone who's also an owner. The football team. We'll talk about it. He's heavy. It's a digital. It's my main man. Trevor made trouble. How are you? I'm good. Are you man? I'm cool. Thanks for taking the time to hop on. We know we've been dealing with 2020 and 2021. Lot of it has been digital and based on social media. How has your experience as a New York met Ben just over this past month or so. Been great. I'm excited to be. I was started to be that first guy and watch the dominoes fall behind me, you know, with with Frankie Lynn, Door and Cookie and McCann and No, probably other people. Well, we'll find out but it Z good time to be a met. The fan base is fired up. Everyone's excited about new ownership and the direction this team's going. So there's ever a time to join. The New York Mets is right now, and I'm happy to be aboard that train for sure. Yeah, that's a good idea. Troubles timeto make people hop aboard the other bandwagon. It's a good look right now. Especially with with Daddy Warbucks as I call him, Steve Cohen now owning the team, and you've talked about how just him being interactive. Connor was one of the things that lead you towards being more attractive. The New York Mets. How much do you value that to say that the owner is Kanda? Tangible? He's not some dude who sits up on a mountain or a hill and doesn't care. Yeah, it's it's being a huge fan. Your whole life is a big Part of it, professing that like yourself, you know, it's not just like a rumor right on on social media stuff That's just like this is where the world's going for me. I feel like there's a lot of, you know, it's been in the news a lot about the negativity around social media, but I think that there's two sides that coin. On band You know, in the entertainment business, it's It's really important that people are enjoying themselves and enjoying the product You're giving him. Um and it starts with him. He's the top of the pyramid. And he's It's a new games. Changing all all sports are changing the way the games are played and portrayed and all that kind of stuff. It's it's It's evolving. And, uh, you know, he's he's kind of He's taken that in stride and evolving with it on, But I think that that's that's a super super cool thing to see first and foremost, but the second the same time You know, he just exudes that he's part of that family is the families has been clamoring for certain things. And and and he basically just came out the gate said. Hey, guys, I'm right here. I'm part I am one of you like I could be out the crowd with you, Uh, doing the same thing. I'm thinking the same way as you and I have. I have some power. Tonto make a lot of these things happen. Trouble May is on the line with us. One of the newest New York Mets. So you talk about how the game has changed. And I know you grew up a Mariners fan up in Washington, and the game is different. We don't see you know Garcia and Jamie Moyer and Randy Johnson going out there. Just given you, you know, 89 and you being a reliever. When you take a look at how the game is changed over the past 20 years, too. You know what we've seen with the Mariners? What do your thoughts on how the game is adjusted? Yeah, it's interesting because, you know Really You're seeing it with a lot of guys, guys, So give it a little preface here for a lot of guys want to stay starters for for for a long time. You want to stay started cause I always get the major leagues frankly started just have much better earning potential long term. S o, you know, being like a middling starter or started that's just like good enough to be in the big leagues but isn't leaving a staff But you could make a lot more money your career than being a You know, the best closer in the league. It's it's like comparable, so it was always preferable now that that that shift is changing. So for people's careers being a reliever isn't so bad anymore For your long term career. You you can make a you could make maximize your potential in the short one that you have. Believing now, and that's that shift is happy. So that's great for me because I was a guy who switch fairly recently in the last few years to be a full time reliever. But once you understand that, uh, it's interesting to see how big of a value certain innings of the game are being given now and and now you want your most Shut down arms to throw those innings. So when you do that, you start to identify times when you might go into the game, and it helps to kind of iron out what your role is, and then when you got a bunch of guys down there that can do it like I was very fortunate. Be part of very good bullpen last couple years in Minnesota. With, like, four or five guys who could pitch who who could all get saves and could all throw? You know, in the 9th 8th all the way down to the fourth inning, and we did And seeing that shift, it gives us a lot of gives relievers more value that they add to a game, which is always good. In my opinion, because I feel like we're the kicker. Sometimes. Trevor May is on the line with us here, CBS Sports Radio Yeah, you started off as a starter coming up and you were with the twins. You had to Tommy John. You became a One of the best relievers in the game. And now you're a New York met you faced off against one of the newest and more exciting New York Mets right now, Francis Colin door when he was with the Indians for Met fans. When you had the face this dude in the batter's box, what was your thought process and what can met fans look forward to every day in and out with Francisco. Well, The guy plays super incredibly hard, and he's always having fun. You know that he's got the smile that is known for he's been winner. He's been part of a group that kind of came into to an organization that that wasn't the top of the division and then Because he was part of because he came on and they had. Josefa has the Ramirez join and and a bunch of young guys come up and then start include burn all those guys. He's part of that kind of renaissance over there, so he knows how to win on Carrasco is part of that, too. So we got in both. Great defensively. It's a great hitter. He's tough tow. You can't strike him out of a big strikeout guy I've faced him, uh, seems like 1000 times on Gwen. I needed a big strikeout. I wasn't necessarily able ever to get it, but it was all just about getting them out. I go after strikeouts with 1990% of guys I face. He's not one of them. So he's just not a guy that that's gonna get you. Success on So he's gonna battle. He's gonna give you those long bats. He's gonna He's gonna hit guys in and he's gonna He's just gonna addio already lethal lineup of guys. He's It's gonna be not fun to face him. And it's gonna be really nice to say for the fourth straight year that I gotta I gotta pitch behind a lineup that is probably top three baseball, so this is really exciting. Trevor May is on the line with US CBS Sports Radio Trevor You talk about the lineup. We can look at the pitching. We can look at the bats..

"I've got my final hour ready to rock and roll. We are Template attempting to Established contact with Jim Duquette. Former major league baseball, Gentlemen. You provoke the Mets and the Orioles on now we got coast for Sirius XM and does met TV work. On their table out. Let s and why. It's a pretty big moves around Major League baseball, so I didn't want to catch up with Duke. I try and get him up every couple of months. I think he's one of the best faithful. I was out there. These days, so will reach out to Jimmy D and see if we can get money Telephone line Game Two of the triple header of the NFL wild card playoff Sunday is underway. Saints driving first possession, They drove it and Flattened out and ended up having to punt. The Bears didn't get anywhere. The Saints are now into the end zone for the first score of the afternoon, and this one Michael Thomas, back off the injured list with his bum ankle catches about a nine yard touchdown pass from Drew Brees. I would say to put the Saints up sex, and nothing will keep an eye on that game for you, but You want to spend a couple of men stocking all things baseball with my next guest. The aforementioned Jim Duquette joins me here on CBS portrayed Yo, Jimmy D Johnny Mack here. How was your New year? Bring back everything That was good, Thank you. Hopefully staying with you. You could stay in healthy, healthy as I can be in this covert world in which we live, which means staying home and not leaving outs and living like a hermit, but breathing and upright. So that's the most important thing doing that pretty well. These days. Um You're staying busy with the activity of the Mets. The big trade that they made this week. Um, sure did Janette's and why talking about it? You talked about it playing on your serious XM show. I did a bunch of shows in New York around the holidays couple before Christmas. A couple after Christmas, and I got too many met fans saying Well, when is the new owner with the deepest pockets in the world going to start spending money? And I said, Who have you lost? Who is he? Not? So I was because of me. You've gone elsewhere and signed that you desperately had to have is a Medford that Well, he's got all his money. Why isn't he spending it well dipped to get Frankie Lynn Door and Carlos Caracas Co. Uh, didn't know that was the route They were gonna go. I do. It's gonna be like most my fans free agency. Were you surprised when you got the word that will endure was now met. Yeah, I think that's the thing that's it stands out about that trade. Not that they traded for him, but he had a kind of given us the blueprint earlier in the winter that he was I didn't have the upper level prospects to match up. You know, it's gonna be difficult to make that type of trade. Um and so you know that got everybody kind of looking at the free agent market and okay, they can. And Trevor may and Okay, there's all this conversation about George bringer. And and then you know the Sandy and Jared Porter. They do an end around and a little fake. And all of a sudden, Yeah. They're deep in the discussions with Linda, and it comes out they get Carrasco too. So like that was a big surprise from that side of it. Um, you know, when you look at the what they gave up, Jesus. I thought it was a really, really good deal for them. They have depth in their model leagues with kid Mauricio, other plays shortstop, you know, down the road or to flip over a second base at some point. Hopefully, the Mets are gonna sign them door long term. So I think it kind of checked all those boxes. I thought a lot better than the last big deal. Uh, you know, Cano on dead Wendy is. In fact, I thought this trade Jody, you go back a little bit in time, But when I was in the front office when we traded for PS, I felt it had Ah lot of similarities in that in that regard. That would be a pretty good deal. If that's the way it worked out for the Mets. You mentioned that you believe that they can or will get him signed. Do you think that signing will get done before the year starts as the season plays out? You think you're gonna have to wait till the end of the year? And then he's gonna actually taste free agency. But Theo Nurcan, right? A very big check, And I don't expect this experience in New York to be a bad one. If they're going to get him inked for long term when you take its most likely to happen. Well, I think I'd be very surprised if they didn't reach out to him soon. Now I don't know how quickly this would go. But it's pretty pretty clear where you have to be to sign this guy in my mind. Machado was, you know, 12 years, 300 think it was attended 300 same age, But he was a free agent, you know s so you might be able to get him for a little under there. Some people would argue above that. You know, that was two years ago. But I think that's the range right. And so you kind of the important thing here is you have a target where where it should be, And you know he's going to try to ask for more. And I think in this circumstances environment, um you know, it's going to be hard to be asking for Mookie Betts money he can, but I don't think that's it. I think there's a lot of As you know, when we talked about good lot of good free agent shortstop next year, Right Trevor Story and Corey Seager and Carlos Correa Hobby Baez like that those air topsy along with indoor so so there'd be a lot of musical chairs going on a lot of uncertainty around that. You might think this is almost perfect fit for him. And so I would be surprised if they weren't able to do a deal. Let's say by opening day, give me the core asco aspect of this deal when he's healthy, and that's a big if, because he's had a lot of injuries over the course of his career, including last year s. So you can't say that in a vacuum, assuming his health because he just has been a often did player, but for the purposes of this conversation If he gets his 20 high 20 starts 26 27 starts for the Mets over the course of the year. I don't think his contract is outrageous for his talent level. Um, what they do have two more years Commitment. How big A pill was that for the Mets to swallow hard today? Not even looking as a pill they had to swallow. No, I think they looked at it as a really good addition. I think Listen, Carrasco had to 90 year a that this past year was comeback Player of the year coming off of the key MIA there that he had the year before in 2019, so You know when you look at him, you know, the stuff is still there didn't look like there's much of a drop off. Uh so I view it as a positive, You know? No, Jim Bone, and I did our show today and you know, he thought he was the number two starter Hedda Stroman. I think Mixed in Stroman, depending out how well they're pitching. Could you know Russell? That number two starter spot, you know, But so I think that's the range that they are now you know, And then and then that kind of bide your time until Syndergaard comes back. A Syndergaard's capable. You know, we always capable of you've never puts together. He's your true number two, but I think that's where he you know, Carrasco kind of fits for me..

"Studio forum and herbstreet work the games and he was great stravinsky in lindsay. Let's say i'll make this even harder on my own point. Let's say that the nfl is really strict about electronic and he can't coach electronically right right like because that's what got baseball messed up with. You know with watches and the band the trash cans and the video camera. So let's say they don't want They don't want to open that. Pandora's box and kevin stefanski coach from home remotely right. Why couldn't kevin stefanski and you. He's the head coach of the browns. Why couldn't you put him in a booth. Where lamb self like as again socially distanced at the stadium isolate them with nobody else in there. You could say hey coaches coming in at one thirty you could keep six feet apart from everybody else why. Why couldn't kevin stefanski be accommodated. If you wanted to really ridiculous about it you could remember. When the pandemic i started and they were setting up. Those workout bubbles at gyms in the parking lot. We're actually inside of a plastic bubble. Yes you could. You could put defense inside of a plastic bubble the coach in the plastic bubble right. But i mean why are we just automatically throwing him out. I actually understand lindsay's point here. Could we accommodate kevin stefanski being that. This is the first playoff game in cleveland in thirty years. Well you'd think they'd be able to. I mean coaching from home. I don't see why that would be a problem as long as the. Nfl setup the feed and he had just like a cleaning they monitored it right. Yeah exactly or like you said. Why can't they just put them in a box and isolate them just like they were going to isolate justin turner during the world series after he tested positive. But obviously this you'd you'd have the ability to police precautions in place. I don't understand why they won't do it but they won't. Because is it because they think it would be setting a poor public example letting your guy with covert i. I'm not sure. But i think there's from what i understand listening to cleveland. Sports talk today. Apparently somebody somewhere thinks that. It's an unfair. They could give them an unfair advantage. Which i don't know. I'm pretty sure that they're at a pretty unfair disadvantage considering. They don't have their coach. And i just don't i don't understand why they won't accommodate them because everything in twenty twenty one. Covert era pandemic era everything. Just make it up as we go along. They've changed things so many times. This is all impressive and stuff. They have to make it up as they go along right. I get that so my point being. Why can't they make accommodation. Why can't they change it for this. Why why is why are they doing this. Does i'm with you on that. I don't know why you wouldn't make some kind of accommodation. I too fancy and it doesn't. It doesn't seem like they're doing everything. They go. lindsay in terms of players year even upset because the players in the number of players that have tested positive and ovid protocol. 'cause now i think they have nine players have six starters that are going to be out and it's not just code protocol. These are players that have tested positive and then somebody on the nfl network today said that there has. There is evidence that these were transmitted among teammates. And it's not community spread which is what the league was saying yesterday which. I don't understand how the league can indefinitely say. Hey we've got nine guys on our team. Wal- tested positive for kobe. But we know for a fact that this was transmitted outside of the facility and don within the team. I thought you were going to be mad. That the indians traded francis. Yeah i think that's undercurrent of all this. The undercurrent is that. They traded frankie lynn door and heck by the way they also trade rasco traded carlos carrasco but with linda. We've known for two years that they were going to trade him. The indians owners are cheap jerks. And nobody likes does anyone. They think they do that. Whole small market team crying poor us lindsay said. I'm mad as hell. And i'm not gonna take it anymore. I'm mad as hell. But i don't know what i'm not gonna take it anymore means but i'm not i'm not gonna take this anymore i. It doesn't look like they're trying to help the browns in any way shape or form. Yeah but i understand it and they are making this stuff up as they go. They've been doing it. I mean the bronze plan game with no wide receivers. The broncos played a game with a practice squad playoff wide receiver as quarterback fan in a market. That hasn't seen one in a long time. But would you move the game. John would you change the time. Change the day of the game. No but i would accommodate stefanski some fancy but not in terms of the players that are out. I think there are six players. You've ruined covert protocol mean. I'm sorry people have been dealing with that all year long. They've been doing but no what. What about two months ago when this happened and there was four or five players on the steelers and then they'd nine in baltimore and they moved that game. But we we we play last week. Without cooper kupp for michael brockers cooper kupp arguably the might have to play this week without alvin kamara. That's one player. They browns have six starters and their coach and to their assistant coaches. I don't think they can move the game. I think third a plow forward by do understand why you're mad as hell and it also includes the fact that the indians traded franken door. I know dodger tied there. I'm not mad that they traded him. I'm mad that they traded him for nothing. What's the what's the dodger tied. John will you have you and others have said that nolan are nado. If he gets traded the number one candidate would be to get to be traded to the mets. Yes now that they've played. They're big card here. They've unloaded their minor league prospects to go get carrasco inland door. I think that moves the dodgers back to the front free or not if he moves. I think you're underestimating the amount of money that the mets have spend with this new owner. I know i'm not saying that they wouldn't pay air. No i'm saying that. The dodgers could now offer a better package because a lot of the guys that i chain. Wise right tracy. Trade wise guys that the indians ended up getting would have been people that the rockies would have asked for. Yeah that makes sense. That may maybe does make sense. I would give gavin lux to get nolan not. That's how much i think of aeronautics coming up next john tell us what you're mad as hell about okay. Yeah and then at one forty. Steve says he's been red hot with his best bet of the week for wild card weekend mason ireland seven ten. Espn yeah it's a bad day for lindsay. Just steer clear of the is young. We talk about the indians training francisco door with carlos carrasco. She's upset i'm upset. Ownership are a bunch of cheapskates. That's when i'm upset about because they can't even pay cy young candidate twelve million dollars to stick around for another couple of..

"One world series the past twenty years. The new york yankees have had one world series victory. They lost an owen. They lost in. Oh three they won in. Oh eight. And i think that's the last time they actually made it to the world series was two thousand and eight and if you look at their team they had a roster where they had geom- be gary sheffield derek. Jeter alex rodriguez jorges kasahda. Like bernie williams. They had so much more. They had so many great pitchers on their on their staff. And they had joe tori. Who was all who's a hall of fame coach and they didn't make to the world series but they opened up the checkbook and nothing happened. You can look at the dodgers. The dodgers just won their first title in thirty two years. They've been open up the checkbook for how long almost fifteen years now since they got manny ramirez they opened up the checkbook for just any free agent was just. Oh he's going to. The dodgers will apparently not. Let's look at the super team in detroit where they had david price. Max scherzer justin verlander. They had rick porcello. Also who's you know. Has we just talked about in the last time. It was cy young award winner. Four quality like not just quality. I would say three borderline hall of will one borderline hall of fame to guaranteed with sherzer in lander david price. I feel like he's going to get in but it will be. It'll take a few votes or a few years to get in with a couple of votes and then report selo. I don't think we'll ever make it into the hall of fame but those are four very very good pitchers that they had right. There didn't get in the phillies you know when they opened up the checkbook and guy royals while you know they had roy halladay cliff. Lee roy does wall and they had another pitcher and cole hamels. Those are four pitchers right there. They didn't make it to the world series. You know there's so many. Instances where teams just open up the checkbook and are like okay. Let me just i. everybody is right now. Body gregorious they bought. Jt romeo there while they traded for jt. Romeo but They're going to try and buy him again got bryce harper. You know they bought jake arrieta. You know david robertson So many players were on the open markets. And they just were like here. Here's a blank. Check come here and nothing has worked like they haven't worked out. It's all about team chemistry. And he thinks that he can just open the checkbook and just by all these players wolf. They don't gel no cohesive unit than what what what are you gonna do. You're just gonna be spending a lot of money for a mediocre team like the phillies haven't even made the playoffs with those guys granted. It's only been a couple of years but still you have all those guys that you have all those big names you sell them and made the playoffs. So what is the like marcus stroman. What is the point you had so many opportunities to go to other teams that have a legitimate chance of making it to the world series and are a cohesive gel together team where you can fit in seamlessly as just like the guy because you have the personality for it you just get after it but if you have a whole new team that hasn't gelled yet and you know you're just kind of a bunch of guys to a bunch of ragtag dudes thrown together. Granted you know if they're able to get George springer or you know Jt rome yudo and all the guys that they're looking to get two pair them with You know with. Jacob degrom and noah syndergaard but what is your pen look like edwin d as hasn't been very good how they did this. They've already done this. What edwin diaz and getting ed Marcus stroman and getting i forget who else. But they got some other guys and then they're also. There's a rumor where i'll get to this in the next segment. But you know they're looking after frankie lynn door to help build the super team and i just don't understand it it doesn't make any sense to me Maybe they're gonna use him as a trade peace to try and get another big name player. But i don't know what his allegiances to the new york mets why. I don't think he owes the mets anything on why he would be so inclined to help the mets do anything. But i mean if it is i guess it is what it is. At this point. He accepted the qualifying offer. He's going to be at the twenty twenty one season. Maybe he'll be part of the package. Deal to get frankie lim door but even then who wants to go to the indians like why would you put yourself in that position where it's like okay. I'm going to sign a one year deal and you can trade me wherever you want to and you know a lot of teams probably aren't going to accept me on a one year rental package to give up a bunch of prospects you guys can be good and then or i can just go to a team that is you know kinda bummed team that will just take me as a contract so you can get a big name. Who has a bigger contract. Like a contract. Dump in exchange for like sort of the chris. Paul to Oklahoma city from to get russell westbrook. You know what i'm saying..

"No one's looked at a pitching staff that was too good. Went like Oh God, whatever you going to do with this. You know it's not looking at a football team or basketball team where people gotta get their touches like everybody's going to be able to hit the mound every fifth or sixth day and With Mike Levinger and Zach police sack you know if they have to dish them, they would probably I mean, they would definitely get a huge major hall. They could probably get moby ready player and about three to four prospects for both of those guys. So I don't think it would be missing much. In the long run. But right now you know they're still they're still contending still got Jose Ramirez. They still got you know Carlos Santana. Frankie Lynn Door Roberto Perez, even though he's he's injured they just optioned Oscar Marcado but I've I've been given up on him yet I think he's going to be a really good player one day and you know Fran Mill Frem. As you know, they have a good team that's ready to compete, and it's weird to see that might clovinger insect police actor on the trading block but that's i. mean that's just the way it goes you know if if They they may have you know they may have messed up that badly. So that's definitely something to keep an eye on for the next couple of weeks 'cause. You know. Mike Levinger if if they decide to go like, Hey, you know you're not coming back and we're going to get an extra year of control over you. He might. You know he might branch out and be like, Nah. I'm good. Give me out of here and then it would probably be the biggest. Get more more buzz surrounding him on the trade bloc than than Trevor Bauer would just because he has the same capability of being type pitcher without all the you know the off field antics. So, we'll see how that one goes. Next Netflix we have. Another name that's been you know dangled around the trade bloc left and right it's Kauf seeker. Sears. Easily been the longest tenure mariners player by I mean. A Lot. To say the least. His tenth year. SEATTLE. This could be final year you know. They. They sent a lot of pieces away with you know in the recent. Past with Robinson Gano John Singer Mike Tyson Nino Omar Davar as you know, James Paxton Mike leak, and windy as like all those guys were in the or mariners at one point and got traded and you know he's Let's look at it. This way you know he's thirty two years old he's slashing three real seven, three, two, three, fifty, four. We've seen the ball very well as many walks does strike out to the first twenty, five games which is. Kinda rare especially in today's age where it's you know. Swing for the fences and if K. K whatever. You know I kinda light I'm I'm a I'm a fan of Seger like I really like watching CALC- girl. I like the way that he chooses the pitches that he likes to swing it and you know all that kind of all his you know his is really i. feel like he would be a great coach one to like once he's done out of the League. He's GonNa go right into the You Know Rain To a coaching position or like a front office position at some point. FI-. There was a mar- MLB DOT COM, Mark Fine San. You know he wrote that secrets off to a stellar start posting a slash line numbers above his normal career averages a solid defender at third base and a strong clubhouse. Guy. Seger. would be an impactful position addition for any contender. The mariners are in the. Midst of a youth movement. So. While seger stance as an important veteran piece in the lineup moving him for more prospects would be an appealing option for GM Jerry Dipoto who has never been shy to pull the trigger on a big deal. One major hurdle could be SEGER's contract, which contains a clause. That turns a fifteen million club option for twenty twenty, two into a player option if he's traded. So that is definitely something that could be. It could be seen as an issue, two years away. He'll be thirty four. He would probably be staring down the barrel of one to two more contracts maybe like a journeyman after that. But you know. I I could see I could see him go into an AOL team you know staying in the Al doing something to where he's kind of a d. h. and you know just kind of helping. just helping a team contend. You know I think Hal seeger can do. Can you know? He could bring a lot of energy to a team especially especially being a clubhouse guy like I don't think there's any better title than being strong clubhouse guy and you don't being teamed up with Jerry Dipoto. He could go anywhere little anything could happen when you're with Jerry dipoto really and another crazy news I'll end this here ZANDER BOGART's is a name that's going around the trade block, the Red Sox they're six and eighteen. The worst team in the American league. You know they have a bunch of names out there that that he can get. For like just major prospects. Mitch Moreland, Jackie Bradley, Jr. Kevin Poole Large Jd. Martinez Nathan, you've all the Matt Barnes Brandon Workman. All these guys can be floated around the trade bloc and you know. Sandra Bogart's is not somebody WHO's WHO's off that list? You know he's not anybody who's immune getting traded especially with Boston Boston's a team that's going to contend. They're gonNA find a way to contend. They're not going to be cellar dwellers anymore. They're not gonNA for very long. That is maybe a couple years was saying that on the last show and. You know it's twenty seven years old he was. Top. Three best shortstops in the game last year I would argue the best but I mean I'm sure there was other that could others that could contend. kind of like Frankie door. And Harvey by as I would say by Lynn doorns Andrew. BOGART's were three last season I mean bogaerts had an incredible season last year and. You know. It's definitely someone that you know team that's pushing for the world series could grab really easily. And You know the red SOx have their also a team that's never been shy to pull the trigger on anyone and you know especially with the whole major use movement that's coming through the that we're about to talk about in the next segment. You know it's it's way. It's way more tempting for a team to go out there and just pull the trigger on a upcoming prospect especially nowadays and speaking of prospects. I'm going to take a quick break and we'll be right back to talk about the youth movement that we saw throughout the week and their major headlines there some major prospects that have just been called up to the show that I want to talk about. "Minutes, and we do for the next five hours right up until six where else the fan right here in New York City, and it's going to be jam packed show when you have the reigning champs on the doorstep civilization. Anybody saw this coming in this year is NBA finals will dive into the mastery of Leonard, and he wore rounded Toronto team that is one win away from an NBA championship as we move closer and closer to game five on a Monday night. We'll get to the gritty start out of Stephen Madsen a much needed win for the New York bedside set at night. But we thought with the New York Yankees and folks, you had to understand. That for a team that was basically playing seven hundred baseball since what second or week of the year that sooner or later, there was going to be one of those weeks, where things did not fall perfectly into place for this New York. Yankee team that it was going to be a we that it was going to be a moment where there was some adversity. Dad, it up a couple of losses. They didn't play particularly well, and that is what you have seen here in the report of what five games now against the Toronto Blue Jays and a Cuban Indians, let's call. It is the Yankees have had themselves. A lousy week. The Yankees have had a week in which they have not gotten out starting pitching. The Yankees have been unable to get the time we hit the Yankees have not done enough as a whole offensively. I mean Friday and Saturdays games will basically a microcosm of each other. There were carbon copy the Anki jump out to an early lead. You have the return of Didi gregorious, which is a sudden for so rise. Listen with TD in any of these Yankee players, and we'll get to this in a minute. The idea that you're going to tell me, you're better team without Dini gregorious is the biggest bunch of crap on the planet. I mean, let's just call like we see it as a gamer Dini's guy's gonna want play every day's already fighting Aaron Boone about the idea sitting out on Sunday and he's the hitting machine. He's gonna feel this position. Well, he's going to help this team, a great deal. So you wanna positive from the weekend, it's the fact that Dini is back in. He is back. It looks like with the vengeance, but unfortunately Friday's game and Saturday's game the score early their starter falters, and then the offense basically shuts down for the final six or seven innings. You know what you sell in Saturday's game. Two narratives. What CCC Matthew while up? I was going to be future hall of fame. I didn't key has been an outstanding outstanding member of the New York Yankees. But I think it's very important to understand and realize what feces about the brings to this team. Is there a problem starting feces about the every fifth day? Of course, now the guy's a fine fish star at this stage in his career, he's going to pitch right to a sub for your Ray. CC's eight. Okay. Going out there every fifth day, but you've got on the stand. You're not getting more than five or six innings. This is not a guy's gonna go, particularly deep into games. And when we move into big boy, baseball that when we talk about big games down the stretch and for Yankee team that will be playing in the postseason. What talking about postseason baseball, CC's Tabatha at this stage in his career can no longer be making postseason starts for this team. And I remember coming on the air last year right after the Yankees lost game four of the division series to the Boston Red Sox in. That was my big takeaway. And I kind of went through this like metamorphosis of I didn't want back and then I did want him back. I was okay with the Yankees bringing them back at the end of that. But I have said, over and over again. It's got cannot pitch in a postseason game as far as being a starter because this stuff is not good enough. And if you're gonna put CC against the Lexi's thin, the Minnesota Twins, the Tampa Bay rays. The Boston Red Sox, you name the team in the American League, he's not a guy's got that sort of stuff that'll be able to get you the store that you looking for. So I think her mom cooling off the way that he has Sobat looking the way that he has. It makes it that much cooler for Brian Cashman, and company that they will need to go out and get themselves. A starting pitcher who's not just going to anchor the back into the rotation. No. I've talking about a starting pitcher, who is going to make a difference for this team. Dallas Cowboys that guy. I know I'm going to fight some Yankee fans on that. I know some Yankee fans are going to be telling me, Dallas gyco could have been that stood sorta starting pitcher. I just don't see it. But the Yankees, gotta find that guy, whether it's Madison Bumgarner whether it's talking to the Cleveland Indians, if by some miracle the nationals pushers on trademark and I wouldn't be hitching my wagon to that one. They need that sort of front end starting pitcher to complement, Tanaka to complement, James Paxton to hopefully at some point, compliment Luis Severino and go from there. So that's got to be on the priorities list. And I think it's been pretty obvious watching these two games in Cleveland, the Yankees need that sorta got number two. There is this narrative that is out there that some of you tried to lecture me on that I've heard from some Yankee fans and I just found it comical. I found it laughable, the idea that anyone could suggest that the Yankees would be a better baseball team without Aaron judge without data Gorey's, and without Giancarlo Stanton. Well, I think these two games including one with the way the Yankee offense has just gone ice cold after the second third inning should teach us all a pretty valuable lesson. The idea that the Yankees or better team without that three guys that I mentioned is beyond laughable. It's beyond comical. They need these guys back. And if this losing road trip if this bad stretch over the last four, or five games going to tell you, anything, you know, it's going to Bill. It's going to have those Yankee fans saying, you know, maybe we don't need those gas which was foolish to begin with maybe coming today. Senses having that moment at the eleventh hour, they realize you know what I sounded like a damn fool, and yet the feed those guys back in a lot of because I don't know about you guys, I've sick and tired of watching Kendrick Morales did it pass. But if the Yankees team, I'm going back and forth with Robbie today's we're getting ready for the show. How about that ground ball, and trying to come back and it felt like they will get a couple of guys on base. He hits the ground ball with Frankie Lynn door sees clever tourist feeling third walks over at their base thinks about maybe trying to pick them off at their base. Then proceeds to look at first base and Morales is like a away down. The live I could hold on. Open tryouts at WFAN. And by the way, a majority of the staff is not exactly the fastest group of people in the world. Exactly going to be the footage defeat. You know. They might be countries Morales one on wanted to race. But more importantly, forget about his foot speed. Can't hate. This guy's been a good point throughout his career with the angels with the royals with the Blue Jays. Here's a bit of total stiffen the big leagues. But when it's time it's time I think we will know that when it's time it's time for give him play. Kansas barral. It's no longer serves a purpose on the Yankees. So for those who want to argue with me, well, Giancarlo Stanton, a Kendrick Morales. You're gonna tell me the Yankees, a better off without Giancarlo Stanton watching Kendrick Morales setbacks. Give me a break you gonna tell me you'd rather have Cameron may. But in the lineup of Aaron judge, thank you again, and we all brick owner Brett Corner's been good Yankee. Brett Gardner has had a lot of big hits in that uniform. Brett Gardner is certainly feeling the heat and the double in which he was robbed it led to the sort of outbursts, that garner, actually was lecturing DJ LeMay. You in not doing only ago because of how important DJ LeMay you is this team? He was basically DJ make sure you being careful with a helmet thrown about. We can't lose you important through good. Well, garner gets robbed these in this old for nineteenth streak, and he's lost for good majority of it today. He actually deserved better. I mean a couple of bowls. Right on the screws. But that just goes to show you baseball can be a very cruel and a very harsh game. But the bottom line for brick on, or is this, he's no longer a guy, the Yankee should be relying on to be an everyday player again. It keeps bringing me back to these guys that are on the shelf, the have done a remarkable job in Europe. Since the fact that this is their first losing a week. Despite all the injuries they have had. I think it's a testament to job that Aaron Boone has been able to do. I think it's a testament to the job this Yankee team as a whole has been able to do this was inevitable because over the course of one hundred sixty two games. I'm sorry. You're gonna lose. I don't care who you plan on care. What the schedule may look like there is going to come appointed time we hit the skids a little bit and a great teams. Find a way to nip it in a but leave it in a short term type of fashion and proceed to the next week. That's what you want the Yankees through Sunday. And then going into next week with a take on the Mets. And then they take on the Chicago White Sox. I will be out there Thursday and Friday US cellular field, or Comiskey, or whatever the hell they call them that part these days. Good walk trying to figure that out. But this was inevitable for the Yankees. And I think this losing skid it tells you three things one, the a front end stone in pitcher, not breaking any ground there. I think we all knew that, too. The Yankees need members of the cavalry back. And three seeing the Anki actually lose a couple of games here shoot. Silence. Any notion that some of you may have had that the Yankees there, I say better off without the particular players. Then this, this kid does Giancarlo Stanton comes back in a week actually tastes a little pressure off him. He came back to team that was playing seven fifty baseball that and had a losing week in about seven or eight weeks at Stanton had like one of those two of eighteen weeks like ten strikeouts. He'd be.

"Hundred Alex bregman, fourteen to one zero mares fifteen one Carlos Correa. Don't know why he's up there at eighteen the one what are we thinking about? Aol MVP. I think Dave, and I agree here. Alex bregman is my pick for ale MVP sitting at fourteen two one. It's great value. Unfortunately, he's only going to get better. And he could screw around and wind up being the face of baseball. Yeah. I think I think Braguin's in a win it. I wouldn't be surprised Frankie Lynn door at plus two thousand. I mean, we start how deal he's starting on the DL. But it's so early in the pitcher I l yes, he's on the injured list. He's not a pitcher, which is totally different sorting out that early Severino missing a month really hurts for his young. But if Franklin door goes from five hundred and fifty at bats to four hundred ninety eight and still bats three thirty with thirty home runs and thirty stolen bases one hundred and twenty RBI's he can definitely went MVP. And I think it's a pretty good bet there to sprinkle on especially because he is throwing on the I L so because of that, you know, he might not make it. But I think the clear choice they're all there than trout, obviously at the child's gonna bat three twenty three thirty thirty to forty home runs. One hundred RBI is thirty stolen bases. Go glove defense, you know, best player in baseball. That's what he's gonna do. But if it's not him bregman could choice would what are we going to do? If Matt Chapman hits three hundred this year be very afraid for baseball because he'll it three hundred with forty five home runs. He's basically. Chipper Jones reincarnate. Yeah. He's trying to be once against that average up. Point loss of Chapman. I do Chapman forty two one. And then my pick. It's not even like a sprinkle. I'm so in on Jean Carlo as crowd. Jim Collins, Jen, g no, no, Giancarlo Williams. Okay. Well, I was like wait San dude. Jim Carlos Stanton is gonna hit six hundred home runs. If you just like doesn't strike out all the time. Yeah. We'll he's going back to fifty sunny, gray syndrome. Leads the gray syndrome, but the park is just like a wiffle ball ballpark for it is he's too big is to chisel too, handsome, and too charming for me not to pick them plus twenty five I love it. I love those odds. And then like I said sprinkle a little on Chapman. If he was in if Chapman had that year in New York, he might be the cover for MLB this show. He's an Oakland. So nobody even knows he exists. He's at just like, Mike know in those might trout exist either. Which is sad. I know I know former MVP Jose altuve as sitting at twenty five to one JD Martinez who will not win because you the D H, and that will never happen in a very long time until it's universal sitting at thirty two one. Is there any other odds out here that kind of surprise you? I'm surprised to see a guy like George Springer and Andrew Benintendi being having almost the same odds as a guy like no momma czar who couldn't hit his way out of a paper bag. Yeah. I think some of those are pretty like, I don't know Joey Gallo being plus six thousand like is in the same arts. Yeah. You could hit seventy and back to ten. I mean, I'd rather take Bogart's bat in three hundred and hitting twenty through. I'm seeing I'm seeing Rando Grischuk on this list. Can you imagine if Randall Grischuk was the MVP about the first pitcher, Corey kluber Cy Young and MVP? That's but like that's happened recently. Like the fact that J joker show. Yeah..

"Cooper, seen Dallas Mavericks radio network. I've seen his name a lot along with fellow Dallas athlete. Layton, Vander Esch worthy of ten year deals and how about Connor mcdavid. He kind of feels like a slam dunk tomorrow a basketball and Jack Jack Michael's and the Oilers radio network Ted Davis as well on the bucks radio network and Yoenis another one that I've seen a bunch of your tweets and your Facebook post. He's a unique skill set. But also, you can't coach body type you can't coach athleticism more size and his foot work and his skills to go along with that size. It's just a rare combination for me, Anthony Davis. I think I've investing in Anthony Davis a ten year deal. I put my list up on Twitter a law radio, but I'll share it with you. Now, this is. Not a complete list. Okay. So don't be freaking out. I mean, whatever you're gonna freak out anyway. So just freak away Anthony Davis and Donovan Mitchell out of the NBA, those are two guys that I would give tenure deals to Donovan Mitchell has been a find. And I think in Salt Lake you have to lock a guy like that up. Because otherwise if there's a chance he into depart, then it takes away from Saint from Salt Lake's ability to recruit, it's it's not an easy place to get athletes to go to for obvious reasons. And so in a situation where the guy like that a ten year deal can also help you build around him. I go Nathan MacKinnon and Connor mcdavid in the NHL. Nathan McCain is having one heck of a year career year in pretty much every category. If you project the numbers out over the the full season and he's coming off a year in which he had ninety seven points. Pat, Mahomes, I go Quentin Nelson the colts offensive lineman who just played all sixteen games is a major reason why Andrew luck. I was only sacked eighteen times. And then Bradley Chubb, I had to pick a guy that defensive side of the ball. And yes, Aaron Donald and Khalil Mack are phenomenal. But they're also twenty-seven. And so when you're considering the amount of pounding that these guys take in the trenches, I decided to go a little bit younger. We talked about Myles Garrett to I put I put Bradley Chubb in there. And then a major league baseball, Mike, trout and Christian yelich. So this is just a few for our toys ler Tuesday. Eight five five two one two four two two seven eight five five two one two four CBS Dwayne is in Baltimore. Welcome to after hours CBS sports radio. Hey, jamie. You know, the guy I'm talking about is Jackson. Manning NFL history. The team playoff. Okay. The Heisman Trophy? I bet. Ravens David for a place to bury. And then he came in and. Right through the whole thi and you see what happened in the playoff when they long. What do they do real quick? Offense coordinator. Well, it tells me you got to find an OC that has a system that fits your quarterback. And they're they're in is the big problem. And and yes, he was the youngest quarterback ever to start a playoff game in NFL history. And he certainly saved John Harbaugh's job if Harbaugh decides to stay there. We're still kind of waiting on that there's a contract extension. But yeah, he turned around their season halfway through all of that is true. But what's also true is that he's got to be more of a pocket passer because not even Cam Newton with his big body size built like a linebacker can continue to be a dual threat qb. Not in this league. The defenders are too big there too fierce to physical there too fast. And so while it's working now for him to be a run first QB is not a viable long-term plan. Which is why at this point. I wouldn't give him a ten year deal. I need to see more out of his passing game. I. This passing game when the family let him go in the fourth quarter. You know almost. Two and bam. Bam says he did accept the game at that point out of reach. And so you have to put some stock in the fact that the defense is probably not playing as tightly as they were earlier in the game. I mean, the the chargers had that offense pegged. They had a peg. They knew exactly what was going to happen. Exactly how to stop it. And even when they were stuffing the box and even when they were stuffing the run when it mattered. The Baltimore Ravens couldn't come up with an answer. Exactly, right. That's why you need another offense. I mean, you can only coordinate for the guy you've got you can't turn them into something. He's not. I mean, you can't. But you know, just like outline line. I wanna leave the little tweet you. We had a guy on the list that is males coming Indian lavar out on loan from me. Yeah. Because the guys it's coming in protecting. They didn't even put. How you doing over there? The hippy guy. He's gonna move when he's on the move. And he's holding the ball out for anybody to knock away that's on Lamar and he's got to take responsibility for the fumbles as much as the protection helps. He's also got to take responsibility to as an NFL QB Dwayne. Thank you so much phone call. I don't agree with you. But I like your forward thinking it certainly could mean a lot for the ravens moving forward if they can get the right guys around him. Thanks so much for calling eight five five two one two four two two seven. Let's say on our Facebook page. Joseph says does Shawn Watson there's a quarterback again. Sometimes I worry about the pounding that he takes this year. How many times was he sacked? Did. He didn't reach sixty because I'm pretty sure going into the last game of the season. It was fifty something that he'd been sacked. So if you want to look that number up just so we have the final, but Joseph says, the Shawn Watson, Alex bregman Carlos Correa. So this is a Houston fan, which I like Josh on Facebook says Matt Murray from the Pittsburgh. Penguins, Jake soul as well. Let's see Anthony says Jaanus in his opinion. Milwaukee hasn't been able to hold onto MVP caliber players since their existence. Levi's says Luca dot Terry Ronaldo, kunia, Mark, Frankie Lynn door baseball. Because there's not contact. It's a little easier to stomach to be short. Chris says Jeff Skinner and Jack go from the Buffalo Sabres. And then another tweet out. I'm sorry. This is Facebook. Facebook post is Mookie Betts and you've got a ton of answers as well. As on Twitter AOL radio. It's after hours here on CBS sports radio. And Andrew bogusch. Is in studio. I've been waiting for hours to tell you what happened in yoga. I I really believe I need to rethink my encouragement of you going to yoga because I don't think you can handle it. If this happens to you. I don't think you can handle it. Thank you. I hope. No, no. It's it's just you'll understand. I almost couldn't handle it. I nearly got kicked out of yoga because I was laughing my rear end off so yoga's. All quiet, right? We're we're doing. Poses with a strap. So essentially strap kind of goes on the bottom of your feet, and you use it to you know, to stretch ourselves. You otherwise. So there's one particular post she asked us to do where to put the strap on your feet, and then you stretch your feet upwards. But the idea is that you have to your we're laying on her back. So you have to bring your feet down you of lift your rear up a little bit. You know, almost like you're in a curl coming to your chest. And you're putting the strap on your feet and when that happened. Here's what I heard. Okay. The guy on the mat next to be Andrew. It was dead, quiet. And I mean, I'm sure it's an honest thing. Like. I'm on the mat? And I I'm like, I'm like you. Right. I'm like, oh it happens. And I started to think about it. And I almost die laughing. Like, I'm just like you're the one that breaks host silence. No, I didn't. But you know, you ever had those moments where you're you don't think about something else. You are going to absolutely lose it. And so I start thinking about how I'm going to tell my mom what happened in yoga, and my mom. That's not a good idea. Bad idea. I knew when both die. And so I own almost lose at the grid. If the yoga journal. So he didn't say anything. He said nothing. No, one said anything, we just we just can't. Just kept on going. And I thought I don't know what the etiquette is for this. But I just turned into seven year old Amy like, you know, six and seven year olds think Pfizer hysterical grown men due to breed also dangerous, and they feel like this happened often in yoga class is one of the reasons why. I wouldn't wanna be yoga class. This was the first time. But it was so I mean, it couldn't have been a worse time. She wasn't talking. No one was moving. It was just all of a sudden. Poor guy. Bending in ways. He wasn't used to bend. Opened up a passageway supposed to be. But you're no not so much forever. I'm proud of you didn't actually laugh out loud. She didn't looking at me the look on my face. I mean, I was like. The largest grin and just like, you know, when you've got liquid in your mouth, and so it makes a joke and you're about to go. I read it was that it was seven year old. Just walked out. Sure where it came from. I mean, there were seven eight people in there. So you never know it could have been the guy next to him. I maybe just the fact that he was on the mat right next to me. So you knew so I knew because I could tell by the depth perception. So don't go to yoga just just don't. I don't think. I mean, my maturity of Chicago. Now, maybe you'll be that guy. Maybe life goals. Poses that. He's never done before. It was like one of those deals you just gotta have to do the fetal position, but you're on your back. So the rear is. Madness. Locked and loaded. Okay. I feel better now that I've laughed about it. Thank you. Thank you. I appreciate it. I hadn't told anyone else until you and your both. Thank you. Now. Even your mom mom. No, no. I told him. Okay. But in terms of here at work. Saving especially for you. Just don't go to yoga nearby. Be lumpy. Not lean just. I mean that was probably going to happen. Anyway. Now at your reason, not to go. I should have said excuse, you know, should we just ignore? What would you do it? You had assuming you can't ignore. It was you. What would you have done? If I had been you or him if he'd been you who accidentally had the, you know lot I would've never gone back to that class. Because here. I went to a spin class with my wife one time when I left like fifteen minutes. It was awful. What I like felt shameful side. Be like on the bike outside. Like, the main part of all the funny people were going inside the spin class like I wouldn't make icon quitter. You're the quitter. Yeah. It was hard my quads on fire. I kind of feel like partying in a quiet class is worse than quitting. But everybody saw me leave. Okay. Loser. Thanks. Thank you. Good. Girth. Alright it's after hours with Amy Lawrence. My cheeks hurt now. But thank you. The truth ler Tuesday question, which athletes are worth ten year deals. I'm gonna laugh all the way through your update. Now if unleash the beast. Eight five five two one two four two two seven five five two one two four CBS Dwayne is in Baltimore. Welcome to after hours CBS sports radio. Thank you, very, Jamie. Hey, Amy, you know, the guy I'm talking about is Mark Jackson. Was the man in NFL history Lee. Eighteen. Playoff. Okay. Should've worn the Heisman Trophy. He came and took the raiders. Floor place the barrier. Then he came in and. The whole tea and you see what happened in the playoff when they launch. What do they do real quick? Offense coordinator does. The defenders are too big there too fierce their physical there too fast. And so while it's working now for him to be a run first QB is not a viable long-term plan. Which is why at this point. I wouldn't give him a ten year deal. I need to see more out of his passing game. I. You see this passing game? When he let him go in the fourth quarter. You know, almost ten. You too. And Ben Ben said he did accept the game at that point out of reach. And so you have to put some stock in the fact that the defense is probably not playing as tightly as they were earlier in the game. I mean, the the chargers had that offense pegged they had to peg. They knew exactly what was going to happen. Exactly. How to stop it? And even when they were stuffing the box and even when they were stuffing the Ryan when it mattered. The Baltimore Ravens couldn't come up with an answer. Exactly, right. That's why you need another offense. I mean, you can only coordinate for the guy you've got you can't turn them into something. He's not. I mean, you can't. But, you know, just like our line at Mina lead the little tweet, you we had a guy on the list that is males coming out on loan blown away from me. Mas phone. Yeah. Because the guys it's coming in that projecting enough. How you doing over there the history he move when he's on the move. And he's holding the ball out for anybody to knock away that's on Lamar and he's got to take responsibility for the fumbles as much as yes. The protection helps. He's also got to take responsibility to as an NFL QB Dwayne. Thank you so much for your phone call. I don't agree with you. But I like your forward thinking it certainly could mean a lot for the ravens moving forward if they can get the right guys around him. Thanks so much for calling eight five five two one two four two two seven. Let's see on our Facebook page. Joseph says does Shawn Watson there's a quarterback again. Sometimes I worry about the pounding that he takes this year. How many times was he sat did he didn't reach sixty because I'm pretty sure going into the last game of the season. Penguins. Jake, get soul as well. Let's see Anthony says Jaanus in his opinion. Milwaukee hasn't been able to hold onto MVP caliber players since their existence. Levi's has Luca. Danni, Terry Ronaldo kunia. Mark Frankie Lynn door. Baseball because there's not contact. It's a little easier to stomach to be short. Chris says Jeff Skinner, and Jack I go from the Buffalo Sabres. And then another tweet out. I'm sorry. This is Facebook. Facebook post is Mookie Betts and you've got a ton of answers as well. As on Twitter, AOL radio theft hours here on CBS sports radio. And Andrew bogusch. Is in studio. I've been waiting for hours to tell you what happened in yoga. I I really believe I need to rethink my encouragement of you going to yoga because I don't think you can handle it. If this happens to you. I don't think you can handle it. Thank you. I know. It's just you'll understand. I almost couldn't handle it. I nearly got kicked out of yoga because I was laughing my rear end off so yoga's. All quiet, right? We're we're doing poses with a strap. So essentially strap kind of goes on the bottom of your feet, and you use it to you know, to stretch muscles that you'd be able to do otherwise. So there's one particular post. She asked us to do where you put the strap on your feet, and then you kind stretch your feet upwards. But the idea is that you have to you're working on her back. So you have to bring your feet down you kind of lift your rear up a little bit. You know, almost like you're in a curl. He's coming to your chest. And you're putting the strap on your feet and when that happened. Here's what I heard. Okay. The guy next to be into it was dead, quiet. And I'm sure it's an honest thing. But I've I'm on that they're used to. And I I'm like, I'm right? I'm like, oh it happens. And I start to think about it. And I almost die laughing. Like, I'm just like. So you're the one that breaks host silence. No, I didn't. But you know, you ever had those moments where you're you don't think about something else. You are going to absolutely lose it. And so I started thinking about how to tell my mom what happened in yoga, and my mom. That's not a good idea bad last like I do and I knew we would both die. And so I own almost lose that you should see the grid. If the yoga. So he didn't say. Etiquette?.
