"Mike morris is back after filling in for me yesterday with his wife. Deb and i'll be honest. I thought there was going to have to be a marriage. Counseling taking place about halfway through there. You're throwing some shots over at her man. I'm not married but that doesn't seem idea you back a guy into a corner. I'm under a mother gunned. And i'm out brained so all i can do as lash out that you know that checks out. Well thank you guys. So much for filling in i was down at the pepsi. Front range huddle With all the college coaches From colorado down there. And as i was heading down there listening A i i thought that was a good show. I don't think. I don't think society is better for it having fill in however you have the phone the show still on today so that means something. You know the the interesting thing. Tanner is You know there is a time and a place to to be very serious and then there's a time and a place you know you just gotta laugh because right all the things going on today I will tell you in my fifty nine years i I can't quite get my head around a lot of it right around a lot of it. Then you know. I hate to say this but you know one of the things that we talked a little bit local. Yeah well and that's going to be the key topic for today as we get into this. I don't know if you've got a chance to catch it this morning. But i had commissioner scott james commissioner perry buck in here for the commissioner roundtable I always used to think there's part of me that still thinks you know politics might be a fun to get into some day for you. Know for the right reasons and and listen to them. Talk off off. Air psych man. There's there's a lot there's a lot of morons in this world. Which is something that i knew already but one of the things we talked about yesterday was Scott which i think. He's i think he's a good man. had a post on facebook about fuel prices right. You know that's a pretty darn complex issue and you know quite frankly. I look at the comments on this facebook. And what i do know. Is that if people had to stare him in the face and say some of the things they say would they say it. No i think not no. No i don't think they would was. And scots are pretty. Big man to i he i mean. That's yeah you probably think twice. Where did we get to the place that That this kind of if you get a chance go to his go to his facebook page right and you know. He didn't say anything. That should rile anybody up. Scotch not that type. He believes twenty believes in. And it's okay. If you don't guess what why. What a great way to try. And i see some of his other posts and again. I'm i didn't vote for him or anything like that. Just because of. But not. Because i wouldn't read it just. It worries anna that set though the You know why can't people just say what they mean. And then we don't have to agree with everyone but you don't have to hate them for what they say either. And that's that's something that definitely has changed you ever consider a political career and your way too straightforward to be a politician. And yeah i know. I yes i have thought about it but the reality is you know. I did all that i made so many mistakes. I i you know. I did things that kids do. God i you know somebody would dig into your battle pass. There's things in everybody's past you know the the beauty of that now today. My god you have to be squeaky clean and And i think that's a big mistake because if you've never made a mistake how do you learn the hard knocks is is the place where the education happens mad at in an. Somebody's saying don't do this. Don't do this. You know people. That have t- i've taken chances man and i've done some really stupid stuff right and i've learned. Yeah sometimes it took a couple. There's a great There's a great country song by frankie ballard that says how am i supposed to old wise if i'm never young crazy and that's There's a lot of truth in that. But i will tell you mike Mayor mike morris has a nice serene to it. Sure milliken so. I'd have to start small mayor of mike morris liberation going on. I'll be your campaign manager would But i i'm going to go back to your first comment. I think that. I'm probably a little too straightforward you but i think that's there's a place for that and i think we should get back to that You know it may not be. What's the old saying. If you always tell the truth you never after. Remember what you said right and you know even in my business. I'm pretty you know if you listen to my ads on the on the radio. They're pretty straightforward. And you know a lot of people go. Oh my god. I can't believe he said that. Like why su truth yeah. When did that become you know you have to risk you. Well you know. I still these old these old sayings because i think they're just as relevant today as they were fifty years ago right. Is that just because you can doesn't mean you should Then you know if you try to please everyone. You're going to end up pissing. Everybody off and that's the truth. Yeah at some point time. Take a stand and then agree to disagree but you know this backstabbing and throwing everybody under the bus and somewhere in there he goes well. It's the truth. what really what. What truth right well and if you don't stand for something you'll fall for. Let's see how many of these things we can get in on an audit on it. You know the everybody. I hear i see it on on facebook again. We're going to talk about local. We may get back into that but this is important as well is that everybody throws that word truth while the truth will the truth right well whose truth right whose truth because everybody understands a situation differently so i i get really annoyed when when i hear even when i use it the truth will. It's my truth right but truth lurks behind understanding. Does that making so that. That makes a lotta sense. And that's something that i don't think a lot of people understand and there's there's no black and white in this world there's not just be civil not asking you to be happy and you know and love everybody. No i'm just saying. Can we just be civil with one another. I look back again. At scott james post ali posted vote. Was he posted a prices of fuel. Which is a big darn deal. It's a big issue. Big issue right now and and it's very complex. We don't have enough time to get into that but you know again. I look at that. And i get pretty darn disgusted now. I don't get the responses. There's no doubt mike. Let's get into that that shopping local Type of thing like we said this is exactly where how this program started was Was with letting local businesses talked about how they were operating drink code and things of that nature. So where are you taking us today. Well the one thing that The world seems to be everybody. See if if you've looked there's mergers and acquisitions and purchases and you know. But when i drive down the streets ag- really down. Eighth avenue. were down tenth street. And i look and take the time to look and i'm not just looking at the stoplight or.

"From New York City to the world, Tom. World. Young kids today are not drinking. Doing drugs having sex as much as or smoking cigarettes as much as their parents don't know what the supper for more anxiety something's going on. What do you make it this next generation? These are the kids that are in these are teenagers, eight five five two nine five sixty six hundred Ron in Missouri. Hello, ron. How are you? Hey area. Man. Get these days are a bunch of babies. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? They that totally reminds me of a country song. If I how am I going to know where the line is about a hundred times. Well, that's true. How do you? How do you? Learn. That's where when you're young you, try things experiment. Whatever you wanna use. You you dry things to see what? What you what you like what you don't like. I think I did. Exactly. Exactly. Yeah. We turned out. All right, right. Well, I don't know about you may have I'm. I'm still working on stuff. But that's just me whether or not I did I got. Yeah. I mean, I don't know what kind of generation this is going to be these are going to be this is going to stay with them. When their future thirty forty fifty years old. They're going to be still stressed out about stuff. I don't know. Why exactly exactly? Well. It's what people say they wanted. They don't want their kids to go out and get drunk smoke have sex take drugs, and they're not so careful get spanked. Yeah. They go ballistic. Well, that's true too. That is true. I think we all know. You know, what you don't have to beat your kids. But spank, spike, you know. Well, I just know about kids at the there was a girl that I knew in high school who was so. Her parents were kept the thumb on her all the time and the minute she turned eighteen she bolted, she ran and she also became a wild. Probably the wildest girl. I probably have ever known in my life just wild because she had a thumb honor growing up, exactly. You know, maybe we're being too wild animal for so long. Right. Maybe maybe we're putting a thumb too hard on our kids. You're getting what you wish for you want them to not drink and smoke and do all that stuff. But and then they don't and you go, wait a minute. They're not normal. You're the college professor saying, I say are are they okay? She said, no. I don't know what to say. Yeah. I think you've got a good point there. Ron thank you. What was the name of that country song? I can't think of the name of it. But the line is. What did I say oh out of our? I know where the line is. If I don't cross it a few hundred times you hundred times. About country music where they they lay out life pretty well. So. We'll we'll see we can find it somewhere. All right. Hey, ron. Thank you. Appreciate the call Benjamin Carson city, Nevada. Hello benjamin. Hi. How's it going going? Great. What do you think about? So I would call it about the subject you're talking about. I'm I'm twenty eight. I I have some children my own I've been raising and I had my first given is twenty one. So I just I feel like I have a different perspective on this. And you've been you've been looking at it and other callers like I feel like the older generations. You know, they pushed really hard, you know, for the kids to go straight into college and enter to kind of the same routine now, but it was a more structured like more strict really like proper lifestyle, you know, like in the industry fifties and sixties, right? And then people rebelled, and then and then things kind of likes like us more strict, and then and then people started running again, actually happening. Now, the parents are having, you know, their teenage years smoking and having sex and end up being rebellious and partying and the kids are growing up with parents that are still smoking pot and stuff and they're going. I don't wanna be like that. I want to. I don't want to drink. Might teenagers are at Ben. Look at it. Oh, that's not cool. I don't wanna do that. I just want to, you know, not do anything. I think you hit the nail on the head. And I'll tell you why I have I have observed over years varies from from family to family, but the kids who were the most restricted most supervised most discipline when they grew up and had kids they were much more apt to let their kids run wild because they were so heavily supervised that they're letting their kids have some freedom. So then when that generation those kids grow up and they're going. Oh my gosh. I had I had no guidance. I was Iran wild. Then they have kids and then they start saying, oh, no, no, we're gonna have rules here. And we're going I think the pendulum swings from generation to generation. What you're saying? Thank you for clarifying that up for me. No, you you laid it out. I just I it's an observation. I've had for years. And since I've got a few more years on you. I think you'll find it to your watch watch over generations. How it flips from one to the other, and it's not it's not a generational thing is family to family. Just depends upon how you were raised how you were raised will probably not be the way you raise your kids. What you're saying? Right. Because you know, we don't want to be, you know, the laws that were, you know, sometimes parents. So how were you were you? Were you raised on like, I mean, like I had I had a dad who was not in my life. You know, interestingly he was he was in and out very early age, and then pretty much on existent throughout you know, my younger years and my team. He was not there at all. So it was just mom. So now, I have my children. And and I would never, you know, not want to be there for them. Because your dad wasn't. What your dad wasn't? So never I could never do that to my kids. Now, you know. Interesting. Break the cycles with with us. It starts. It's exactly the same. It's exactly the same though, isn't it because you're not going to let happen to your children. What happened to you? The negatives. Yeah. Interesting. Benjamin. I like you call very much, you you you nailed it. Very good call. I appreciate it. As a young twenty eight year old guy. You find that song? Yeah. Okay. The so I gotta be out by forty that will give me much time. Oh, I see. I wanna play more than just the hook. Sharon in California. Hi, sharon. How are you? Great. This is your public health nurse. Oh, good. Good. So tell me about public health. The thing that I see both in the hospital in the community is that children are observing their parents and grandparents and their bad behaviors and the health consequences and financial consequences that they've endured and they were in the lesson. I'm like, well, I ain't going do that. But at the same time, the I think I think we're bringing it on the doom and gloom of of. Nuclear fallout, Dan, polluted cetera. In years, and that's making. I would be the kids are scared. They're scared. I think it takes a dumps with some common sense to put it in perspective. Well, but the problem is is that you don't have to pass a common sense test to have kids. So that that in there in lies the problem? I got we're gonna get to our break. But Sharon, thank you very much. We found that the song about crossing the line. Frankie Ballard young. Right. Stories. Stop yelling at the radio and get on the phone your way, Tom solid. "Look Liga players. I mean, they're the they're the dominant name of off road. If you do anything off-road, they're most likely tied to whatever you do whether it'd be four wheel parts players razor, whatever they're tied to something. They have their ties their roots are in offroad. That's what they've done now. It's it's really interesting. I mean, like watching the cultural shift to like, you know, pre running for the ball and thousands about to start and talking to a lot of teams in a lot of them are are free run in razors. You know, because like, you know, it's twenty forty fifty sixty thousand dollars to prepa cre- running for that for pre running. So you could buy two cars. I go pre. Right. I mean, they're they're not like the same thing. Like, obviously the pre runners go way faster, but the the razors are getting up there. I mean to where you could go for your one of those and you're going pretty damn fast. Yeah. And that's just your periodic. Yeah. I just opposite coming from short purse background the cops racing team. Yep. Pay me up, and they're like, hey, we won't help going faster the banner shipping right now. Yeah. They didn't make recording this live out. Can't raise the ban going in the background. They just guys. You haven't heard Frankie Ballard before. Here you go. Here's a teaser now. Youtube strike a flag. This thing you're not gonna go live because we're using some pirated meal. Tell you what the tars work. Absolutely now, it's really cool to see, you know, a company like Polaris give back because there's a lot of company e you know, this is this capitalism. Right. Nobody's required to give back, but they definitely are getting back. They're spending a lot of money here. You know to make sure that people come out this weekend. Have a good time in the razors. Yup. Get taken care of go. See all the displays here at camp razor, all the different companies that support him, you know, as well as you know, bands, two nights. Yeah. It's it's cool. It's easy to sell like everyone like talks about like what what should I buy? I'm like a razor. I don't have to sell out but come to camp razor, Frankie Ballard's coming. They're going to fix whatever happens. Like who else? Does that their support a segment non they're giving back to the desert community polarises isn't selling anything here? No. Like, they've got her viewership full here losing money. They're not selling they're getting back free. It's a free concert. That's what I hate. Sometimes. I. Seeing you know in comments and stuff, you're like, oh, Frankie Ballard's like they'll get mad like certain things. It's like you guys should be should be happy. That laris is put it not only putting his whole thing on doing a free concert fixing your car for free. Like, they they have it all here. And it's and like you said, it's it's not like you're trying to sell you something like, it's just awesome. They're doing it. There's three hundred and sixty five days a year. And how many Collins was gonna Glamis? Yeah. That's it. You probably played air guitar out here if you time from our? On one leg. I do. My I do my part, but they might have had a concert last night. But Franky is a better singer. For sure there's less of it. Well, what a circle back the racing thing real quick. Because think this has been kind of understated, and I think MSCI could be the next version of it. But so we've had a razor kid, which is RJ come all the way up through the ranks hero. He won the biggest premier championship ensure rope. Oh, right. Raiser kid. Then you've got a guy like MSCI. He's come up on the desert side of things all the way through the ranks is a razor kid. He's winning everything. You can't in the desert makes me wonder when we're going to have somebody like Mitch the doors are going to open step up into trophy truck and be the first guy to legit ticket championship coming up through the razor ranks at trophy track. You know, I think we been Dr guide Johnny who anybody we love to death, but Johnny's moneybags, Johnny. And you know, he started in UTV's, and he just want overall Vegas Reno which I think was a big deal. That's starting racing. That's a big look, let's give Johnny some credit. I love Johnny to death. So he he's the longest offer race American. Yeah..

"Slipped like that man. Just wave. We're gonna have in. We're going to have to jump. You that easy? You have to spend surf you can't just go out there. And catch the biggest wave and riot, right? In absolute MSCI, what was your first time out here, man? I actually came out here a long time ago with my dad and wrote in like a buggy, but that was basically it I wasn't driving that was kind of when I first started trophy cards, and then like RJ said my first times really coming out here and actually doing and kind of coming out and driving myself was camp razor, probably five or six years ago thing going on for a while now, and now are here, and this is one of my favorite places to come. You know, it's it's so fun coming out in razor and doing and trend with your friends, and it's also fun. You know, Glamis is one of those places where we all come out and runs camp together. And it's just a good time. I think that's like it's truth. I mean, like, it doesn't matter if you do shortcourse or desert. I mean, you guys are both on both Matt's been around the industry for a long time doing a bit everything. But like. There's not many places even like the mid four hundred after the race. Like you you're decompressing after a race. And it's like you want to have some drinks have a good time. But it's still it's like, I don't know. There's so much going on this is like one of the few times or places in this industry where we can all get together. And just like you don't have to worry about anything you go out and have fun. And you know, you're with your friends. Yeah. That's that's one thing. I say is who else has this is this Halloween weekend peel of incoming to the dunes for Halloween weekend for years. But this is holding weakened everyone. No matter where you're parked pad five whatever you are. This is this is camp razor. Yeah. Yeah. No. It's it's really now. They've stamped. Yes. To and they've been the weekend. Yeah. Yeah. And, you know, starting from the inception of it was really cool because you know, they just wanted to reward their custom down and do it in a way that actually gave them something back gave them a good experience. You know, you look at the repair line. They're they're repairing cars for free that still blows me away. I'm like, I I always asked. Hey, so what's the math on that? And they shake their head and go don't ask that, right? There is the reason to buy razor. Yeah. I'm here by razor go out in the dunes. Hey, do you do some stupid like we all do it happens? Every once in a while we gosh. Hey, pulled right in we'll fix you out. Does that? Yeah. No, no, it it's really cool to see it just again what I really like about the platform about the whole UTD platform is it just makes it accessible everybody for years growing up in this culture out tell people about Glamis, and I'd tell people about riding in trophy trucks, and all that stuff, and they they couldn't grasp it wasn't something that the average person can come and do now with these vehicles. They can. And that's what schools we ride around out here in our big posse of of people, you run into people that are just you know, they just bought a car and this is their first weekend or they just started doing it. And they're learning the dunes, and it just it's really cool. It's almost sounds like a sales pitch. But. You don't. Well. You know, what how come we're coming to camp razor? But it's not that I have to come here. I don't have any of that. Right. It just goes to show like there's so many people here and they've been we've been doing it for five or six years now. And it's like, it's it's not dying. It's getting bigger and bigger every year in it. That's that's like, it's not fish. Everyone loves coming out and having fun. This only would I not miss camp razor. But I mean, Frankie Ballard's coming. But it's not G easy easy dollars..

Twice a minimum. Kicked me. Funny. You can hear that. I mean, you're so I, I would have never heard that happened in the right here in your left ear went. Yeah, menu. Different level. I didn't do the Yamaha Suzuki. Most. I learned to make records by listening in headphones. So it's a good rule that if you see my name on an album, either as an artist or as a producer, a writer, even, but mostly professor, you should take a minute to put on the big headphone to Princess Leia ones. And listen. 'cause I left you secrets Lois rags? Yeah. So depending when you hear this, people listen to podcasts for years after, but as we do this sugar land's about to go out on the big tour and I'll becoming. For sure coming Sugarland and you have Frankie Ballard and Clare Bowen out. And you have Lindsey l. and you have Clark who is one of my absolute love. Brandy fossil lenses. I just thinking these guys are so good. And it's just not fallen cards aren't falling for them and they just put their head down and they just kept working and kept working. So I love the idea that people can come to Shirley show in discover music. They've never thought that they would be madly in love with. And if you can trust us for that much like people trust you on your radio show for music. When you turn people onto some, I think it's the, I think it's a trust that you earn and you got to do everything. You can to keep it. Sugarland back again, secret album.
