"Welcome to another episode of the Monday morning tech chat show on the QA podcast channel. I'm Juan Carlos bagh now, AKA some gadget guy, the SG G of this ridiculously named podcast, but the QA, that's the important part, obviously stands for some question and answer. And I'm already seeing a tremendous crew in here to have some conversations with. Let's see. I've got Dave burns. I've got gorm lord. I've got purposely gaming. I've got snorkel, Ron Guido fat produce. Farhan, Simon says hypno. I'm missing people. Twin full tech. Haven't hasn't been able to catch a show for over a month. Thank you so much everybody for dropping by for tuning in. Jay man one 50 says, hey, hey, Gary the fireman. Howdy geeks. What's up, Gary? Good to see your handle in my chat. And Jay man won 50 just really good advice for life. Remember to stay hydrated and stay safe everybody. So let me get this out here. And get rid of this here. Purposely gaming. Oh, I didn't click on the right thing because the chat is going so fast. Okay, let's try that again. I love it. I love all the nerds. All right, let's get that out of the way then. Cool. So everybody, I hope you had a tremendous weekend. We have a ton of news to discuss, especially with part of the gadget block. We're going to be talking about pixels and Xiaomi's and haikus oh my. And then we also have a lot of earnings reports this week. Or over the last two weeks we've been getting companies talking about their financials, Apple had a pretty big one Comcast had some interesting numbers to share. And also Sony for the gadget block. We're going to be talking about some of Sony's mobility department. So there's quite a bit. And something tells me this is going to be the running theme of this week's show from twin folk tech. I'm watching this on my pixel 6 a and I can't see anything because the screen's only 60 hertz. Yeah, I mean, I don't know what to tell you guys. I mean, if you were if you were foolish enough to buy one of these pixel type phones, I mean, the assault on your eyeballs for only having a very good screen refresh rate, I mean, I don't know what to tell you. We had all of those techies out there trying to warn you against this type of refresh rate. You should have gotten a poorer performing phone with a higher refresh rate display and that's really the only qualified advice that a good YouTuber could give. But if you caught the title of this podcast, that wasn't really clickbait. We do actually have some Google ire. Some things that I'm very much frustrated with the way that some of Google's business and some of this pixel launch has been handled. So we do have some dish. We do have something to kind of dig our dig our teeth into, especially for those of you who only seem to accept the Google can't do anything, right, kinds of stories. I mean, there is actually some fair criticism to level here. So, I want to start this week off where I would normally kind of go through, oh, this was how my weekend was. We got news yesterday that an icon of science fiction passed away. I'm going to screen share here, because I feel like ours technica had a lovely write up on the passing of Star Trek icon, Michelle Nichols, she left this plane of existence at the age of 89 and was an icon for not just for science fiction, but in the era of civil rights in the era of storytelling and in a time period encouraging more women to sort of embrace scientific endeavor. I mean, her influence was felt in the real world throughout conversations of civil rights and empowerment and equality. And I grew up on classic Star Trek. You know, it's one of the things I have a hard time when people complain about new track being so woke. And it's so ham fisted and soap boxy. I can't say I've particularly enjoyed Picard as a series because I feel we've lost some of the threat of what made the next generation such a dignified contribution to space opera. It is soap boxy, storytelling, but the next gen, that's sort of my era of Star Trek. I was raised on the original series, but I kind of came into my own science fiction storytelling. Watching the next gen, the problems I have with shows like Picard aren't that they're so woke and they're so political, Star Trek has always been clumsy space opera dealing with the issues of their time of the day with bad science fiction metaphor. Not bad. You know what I mean? Kind of corny or over the top or fantastic science fiction metaphor. And classic Star Trek and specifically Michelle Nichols plays such an influential role in our culture's history. In exposing and commenting on the issues facing society of the late 1960s. Just as like a tribute or for all the, okay, let me rephrase that. For all the things that Star Trek can be really clumsy about, because I love when people are like, yeah, this is the show that gave us Frank Gorshin, who also played the riddler in the 1960s Batman. He's black on one side and white on the other. And obviously, that's superior to the people who are the reverse, or white on one side, and black on the other. You know, racism in a very sort of David Brent kind of kind of on the nose commentary. For all the hokey setups that Star Trek gave us, I don't think the show ever got enough credit for some of the quiet moments of character empowerment. Where sulu and chekov are at the helm in the con at the front of the enterprise in a society that was still facing some of the worst aspects of the Cold War. But in the first captain Kirk episode of Star Trek the original series, there's this one incredible Dolly shot. Bridge crew needs to go do something down on the planet. And captain Kirk turns to commander uhura and says uhura take the con. And the camera pans in as this young African American woman sits at the controls of the enterprise and it just lingers. It's a

"It came up the other day we were watching was watching the old Batman with my kids. He's he's into the old Batman now, yes. Great movie. Great. I remember that as a child, Just loving though it was on for me when I got home from school every day, and so, you know you have the cliffhanger every other day. Oh, yeah, Well, I loved it then. And I love it now. Same bat time, Same bat channel that sort of stuff. But I mentioned in my kids that I had met that man once and we've interviewed both Burt Ward and Adam West, Adam West Arrayed animal must late, Great soul, Robin and Batman. My kid was just that my son was just amazed at that. I met that man and talk to Robin. I'm kind of a baby seal, son. And he said Why did Why were you talking to Robin And I have no memory of why we're talking Robin to amuse ourselves and the listening on it. I tell you what the original Batman show I read once and again. I'm not sure I buy this exactly. But The mark of successful art is it conveys what it wanted to convey it. It moves people in the way that the honoured artist had in mind. It's a least partially true, but the original Batman Was precisely in achieved precisely what it set out to achieve. It was It was funny. It was snarky. It was camp. It was all so much camp. It was actually fairly decent drama in that, you know. Ah, Robin would be trapped in a giant clam. You want to know whether Batman could pride hungry Jaws open in time, and you think? Damn. I wonder what's gonna happen You soon in the next time he might have on his utility belt, some anti clam spray. Exactly. Normally had that came in very handy. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I love the labelling of everything like it was that that computer and I'm pretty sure there's even Twitter account. It just is, you know, bad thing, but it was precisely as smart and as it was trying to be, and precisely as dumb as it was trying to be a really great art the stars that were in that show. Oh, yeah, Everybody wanted to be on it at the time. A lot of the like, You know, Burgess MEREDITH and I'm little Frank Gorshin. All thes reflect the biggest stars of the time. There's on you in A Simpsons appearance. Really? My son was watching an episode the other day that I swore to God I'd never seen which almost seems impossible. Yeah, she never been so like, five, but it was a bad guy was a woman and I'd never seen her before. She was a one off, but and I looked her up. She's one of your famous movie stars like the forties like one of the biggest stars in the world, and she decided to be You know when she's a little older, this villain in the Batman show? Yeah, because that was the Hott TV show at the time. Is that anywhere? Can you get that on demand? I'm sure you can on one of your screaming services. Check your local listings. Either I get stuff on streaming services. I do this I set a record. You know, I set the record and so I can't tell you what time our channel anything's on it. I know it was up in my list of recorded shows. You only see it long enough to look like I watch Tucker and Larry Bird. I have no idea what time of day there aren't a slightest idea. Really? Okay. I actually know that Justcause listen, live from in my car. But when I'm not listening to this great radio station Have you heard about loot? Safe dot org's the Safer way to loot. Now it's a website loot saves mission is to make the act of looting, safer, fairer and in to empower all parties involved. I can't believe more people aren't bothered by the fact that there's life on Venus. We should revisit that. They discovered life on Venus yesterday. Yeah, enormous snakes like 150 ft. Long. Eyes at both ends. Wow. Yeah, yeah. Was it put in the middle right in the middle in the middle? You know, you know nothing about evolution, snakes Venetian Venetian. Now, that'd be from Venice, anyway. So ah, creak living creatures on Venus and loot safe dot org's in moments, folks, this is Adam West Armstrong and getting maybe drinkers, Robin They're okay. "Wealth something that no matter what what race or sex or gender you are it if you're poor and not rich there's a huge divide there and that's something that we can all relate to I think command and then the other thing that across my mind was you know now it's slipped it I hate it when that happens it was that Frank Gorshin solved racism yeah that was the point and then we had a texture I thought this would you have you have good thoughts on this Paul the it is somebody in the texter was when we were talking before you came on and I think I said the people of color or and somebody said oh my god can you guys just please say black and I think you have interesting thoughts about that phrase well if I could play it quickly yeah I I I've come around to I try not to use the word one working as a substitute for non white because minority means small if you're talking numbers okay but if you're talking about an actual ethnic groups and I'm not did it again helps to cement that kind of implicit bias the door let them smaller but with people of color I have as you all know early eight non black white non black on black well my home and family members and a loss of freedom and that's where you would have seen them and hold another say well but and students specially built well I'm a color tooth like well yes you are that's true and I think people of color sync the GM center in centers everything all white that you are white it in your color so why not just say you're black Latino X. X. cetera SOCOM hawking about you all I would say I'm black y'all are not black yes I want to stay that way through complexion on black just because of the color seafood no other way to separate people as they are all one group others yeah and yeah and it's not accurate to say that were white either it's better to say were non black because we're not white or pink we're paying transaction we also walk she flew be truthful I'm probably more white than y'all are good my wife made literally is what yes that's true doctor well it's always in Kentucky accent is slipping through a lot in the morning I'm a little bit in the middle date it and happy anniversary I do believe that your dirty work those are as radio from hell today is for today hi Katie we will never remember yeah thank you doctor thank you thanks Paul you're welcome it's always a pleasure to talk to you and and please stay well and I'm glad that and I know I speak for carrying gene and Katie that were glad to have you as a friend yes thank you for listening listening lords and colonels thank you for.

now before we get into some sorry I got I have I have something I want to share and this is an homage to the famous Slovenian from Pittsburgh Frank Gorshin played the Riddler and Batman riddle me this my taxes when can you use up and down to mean exactly the same direction when you use the word gobble not god well I have here either saying shut up or down well I'm not kidding I believe that there is an episode of the nineteen sixties Batman where Frank Gorshin character as the regular poses a joke like that and the answer is gobble and then they come up with Turkey and they they figure it out but I'm pretty sure that that's the case now listen you shouldn't have brought this up because now I have to tell you that I met Frank Gorshin I had drinks with Frank Gorshin at Sardis who didn't no kidding I tell you I most people know him as the Riddler which is one of the most insane characters ever created I mean who you would think he would like to leave on a table in a in a green unitard and you know clinches fest and eight like it was just one of those crazy characters ever created but what a lot of people might not know if they don't know Frank portion he was one of the greatest impressionists who ever lived his impressions of he was most famous for Kirk Douglas and Burt Lancaster he would do the modem but he he was a genius you know sometimes it just it's scary how how freakishly good someone is he what he would do the two of them you can look these things up on you too but he was a genius and he played this must be about fifteen years ago he was on Broadway in a one man show George burns had died not long before that so we did a one man show as George burns right the whole show imitating George burns singing is George burns it was brilliant and I went backstage to meet him and talk to him I got his information I gave a copy of my don't you believe that book speaking of fun fact Friday night I don't believe a book and he read it and loved it he said to me that's quite funny you know when I met him again but we met at Sardi's we talked I wanted to have him on my show but the problem is I don't have a show in those states rights I was trying to get a show and but what a privilege to spend a couple hours with Frank Gorshin and I I need him to when I was working at the old FX network was New York City I did but here's the best factor well my mother knew his mother because she was young mounts on the Slovene radio program the Slovenian what are your prices the president's wife wow yeah he's living issue of three of us met Frank Gorshin Christian must feel like a real jerk right about now I do I did not meet him but I am having all those question mark signs around my head right now at the well I don't remember what we're talking about we're talking to all these different things it's okay Georgia Jackson Jackson she's coming on in a in a couple of minutes she's just a ton of fun I just we we love her so much and you know what a lot of people who watched a Christmas show on TV and and you can see that on the YouTube channel if you go the architects show on YouTube and you scroll down to Christmas time you can see the show but she most people she was her favorite she was their favorite part of the show because using scalar she is a scene stealer and I will I will I love her but she's so funny and and and you know it's hard to crack me up you guys crack me up well why you're here March world you guys doing marshmallow world is my favorite part of the Christmas spending that long and it didn't really happen did we really do that means going to do what we gotta do a thanksgiving this year we got to do thanksgiving okay when I interviewed her now by the way since it's Friday tonight at six PM eastern time and Sunday at ten PM eastern time the TV and show will be on okay on my one year anniversary show she's on that and she agreed to do with thanksgiving special with me she said we should do another Christmas special that we've already done a Christmas special they need to repair that not that many people site we need to repair the Christmas special but we need to do with thanksgiving special well maybe we'll have a little Squanto thing Hey can I can I play a Turkey I don't think you you you really are you can I don't think you could not play Turkey has that grab via okay I got the knack for know what I just said all right look that's a logical appropriation if he does the Turkey for that's right this politically correct let's remind our viewers before we get to the fun there's a different kind of fun when you get to angel tree prison fellowship angel tree program to help the children of those who are in prison right now you are doing god's wonderful work to reach out to these kids I'd say if you meet these kids you'll cry not to have a mother or dad around through no fault of your own that is you can just imagine what that does to a kid in on any level and I want to tell you you can do something about it you can reach out to them with the love of god by either sending them to summer camp for an entire week to get them you know out of the urban environment and so they can see something different and can hang out with people who tell them if there's a guy who loves them really and or if they can't go to summer camp this year they will get a two hundred dollar care package sent to them by prison fellowship an angel tree which has a hundred fifty dollar grocery cart because a lot of these families are really struggling a lot of unemployment you know about this folks right we're going through a tough time and there's a there's a Bible for the kid in age appropriate byteball so there's nothing in there about you know David delivering two hundred four skins to Soller none of that gross stuff is in there okay this is all family friendly okay I understand so they get a Bible they get a Bible study thing they get a letter and tell them how god loves them and they get some sports equipment sports equipment folks if you give by going to taxes talk dot com you're enabling a kid to be very very blessed and hear about the guy who loves him but it's up to you so you have to either go to taxes stock dot com which I just did a couple days ago the easiest thing in the world folks you go there and you can give it's nothing it's so easy to do I want to encourage you to please do that if you can give what you can don't say oh I can give you can give something you can't can you give ten dollars can you give twenty dollars give that because that's gonna it's it's gonna add up and by the way it doesn't matter what you give whatever you give you'll be entered in a grand prize contest to win all my gosh Alban telling what they might win well what you might win you are good I'm a big bundle of sports in there going to be signed and then there's a couple of my hamster Holmes books you're going to get those and those are going to be signed okay if you say books second books you understand you're like I swear off reading yeah that's right that's how bad it's going to be a truck is gonna dump stuff it just gonna bury your garden in books no you.

"Do you think eighty games and offer you true Major League Baseball champ that's what the proposal reportedly is Ken Rosenthal from the athletic has this report they're gonna propose the owners are the players eighty game schedule beginning on July the wind Robbie's in Massachusetts Robbie what do you think any games that enough Hey it's been a really long time since we talked when you were doing part time with the fan once in a while we talk many years ago but so I don't hear from me but you too brother yeah I know mom usually run during the week with mark and Joe in the afternoon most of seven up to put the on the on the on the all their art Hudson street so quickly she no sweat yeah it's funny my background in radio fact I was talking to my friend Tim never disappoints the Dodgers and Tim and I go way back doing radio back in the days we're ever since so frustrated so intense the perfume was my old roommate who's in the in the time of exit yeah I've talked to many many years but baseball eighty games I have no problem with the brother you know first what this will save you know does your family and everybody in the know happy mother's day by the way as well thanks fact accessibility yes money remitting Dennis Miller before us cracking up they will with Miller saving like you likely you know the very first of the three of these calls got more question marks and Frank Gorshin and Israeli constant okay there so you know it's funny because so you know I I I remember the last championship good seventy three because I was like I'm thinking because so that's how the last time he had real estate databases throwing jumping only two playing right now so he's really at the time but anyway anyway but I was gonna say about eighty games I have no problem with that but when will I want to ask you about because this will make no sense to me this three minimum batter garbage I mean where would the Yankees goodbye Graeme Lloyd in nineteen ninety six and because of other examples of you know many situations were left in the specials was brought in someone to see a thought about that rule but I have no problem with a two game season I just want the baseball back in obviously in the pocket and not that I am a dire ranger fan than I am I will see hockey back so much so but the you know the your give up like like for like princess was saying the Republic everything in this new York's gotta get healthy for everybody else to get healthy so but if you're feeling about that receive the phone call Roddick to hear from you again buddy great stuff I actually don't hate the three batter rule and here's why as a National League baseball fan since birth as I talk about in the outset my family goes back to the Brooklyn Dodgers that inherited the New York Mets to the Dodgers left and so that's why I became a Mets fan and I love the strategy behind every pitching change behind every match up I do that's my roots but baseball has evolved into such a specialist's game and that managers using so much information at their disposal and so much analytics and the GM's and all these three proposed situational matchups use this if this happened this guy comes in for this that creating pressure packed you can't go by the book situations I think it's going to be refreshing I know why it's jarring for a lot of people I get it but I think when you will have to throw out the well if this happens that we do this if that guy does this we do this there's so much that robotic memorization of baseball these days that creating a scenario where you kind of have to throw that out that it can't go according to plan because you know what you are out there without a life preserver you just gotta get three guys here and if no ifs ands or buts I think creates the situations that we want to see high leverage stressed out the manager box today's the picture can't get out of the jam I think that's what we want instead of bring this guy you know he's in trouble bring this guy you know he's a bad batch of bring this guy yet and that has stripped away some of the humanity of baseball and I think this could bring it back so I don't he didn't actually looking forward to what it does to managers Dan is in Albany here on CBS sports radio what's going on Dan Hey good afternoon Sir I go back to nineteen fifty six my first payment but feel the scammer Damon quality homered off the railing take a picture of me and Jackie Robinson wow I went to the first night game at the Polo Grounds first game at Shea I should say one to three World Series went to the last game at Shea and now I seventy three work for a minor league baseball team up here in the Albany New York area and the new York penalty and I usher there and I'm for this eighty game schedule on for the three about minimum I think it's going to be intense wonderful hopefully maybe in August maybe September of may allow some fans in the ballpark but here's what I want to say to you and I think it's been missed by a lot of people Major League Baseball this year before this pandemic started just talked about eliminating forty two teams there was a lot of drawback on that and some of the senators in the Congress people talked about that yup but they didn't want that and then when they bring them a check MLB and commissioner rob it was last name begins with an am and MLB baseball took this pandemic I believe and said no way no way are they might not play this year and then might not and if they don't I hope they do I want them to drill if they don't Major League Baseball should say suck it up we're gonna take almost three leagues and play next year why well because it's colder in intangible assets there's people that come to those games every year singled every game whether be single tickets or season tickets yes advertising people that don't go out don't go full time workers go out to the community and work in the community there's baseball kids that come to the game and have catchers and stuff in or will usually I agree with Dan and thank you for the phone call I completely agree I don't understand why Major League Baseball has a hair you know what to try to figure out a way to disband minor league baseball teams okay financially fine you would maybe streamline your profits you have to take responsibility over some minor league teams what have you but what you pay in advertising every year to try to grab a portion of America that is no longer watching your sport you then lose even more so by losing minor league baseball I don't understand is the best marketing you could have if you grow up in a small town somewhere the US and you can't drive to a Major League Baseball ballpark your experience of the majors is those guys the you might watch the majors.

P. at the last supper my grandmother came over here at about age twenty to Ellis Island because you got to fight with her dad from Ireland and Burke he giver the player to get here and she had fifty dollars in her pocket and she had to have a sponsor here which was another family member that already live here right that was not a sponsor to make sure she wasn't going to be a drain on society and he just came over here I worked what all and that's the way it had to be if you didn't have a sponsor you weren't showing up yeah I don't know why that's a but that's all of a sudden offensive thing to some people but that's the way it works most we don't know we're gonna I think so six one three seven one well we're going to a dance in a builder you think you're so smart all this praise your way to Americans yeah well you do the next thing you know Adarand outboard Amman and she'd go over here and did just fine think about that if there were four of five over cab fare you still be in Ireland well there is not a camper over a dance dance okay yeah my my great grandma said she could go my great grandpa said she could and she climbed out a window and went anyway and that it was all so it was a real match I wonder if she entertainer and has been I would have seen her father ever patch things up I'm sure they did my grandfather he came over here they were they you know they do you know each of them but when he came over he got tired of being on a ledge you between the Catholics and the Protestants he didn't want to live that way so he came over here and did just fine yeah that's something I've never understood is the Catholics and the Protestants shooting each other read a lot of sense didn't yeah if if if all right John brief universe since yes something and when I went to Philadelphia I was a whole New World I mean to me but I I didn't I'd never been I guess I've heard of it you know but I was gonna all come on prejudice towards Catholics I'm going what is that all about yes I'm gonna be my general managers Catholic and you know a lot of you they re thereby with every everybody that I knew or live near whatever they were either Jewish or Catholic we we were looking for a church to go to and we couldn't find a southern Baptist church well actually I take that back we found this I'm this is not this is not a I'm gonna say this you'll think I'm making it up we found a southern Baptist church in king of Prussia yes that down the main line outside of Philadelphia and it was Korean well I guess it was south Korean bad does that southern Baptists and it was Korean we end up going to the Episcopal Church I think it was and but it was an interesting time but I never understood this thing about Catholics you know I when I got in trouble with Gerry DiNardo many years ago I didn't I didn't know because we we talk about that with your talent I never really I I never understood why that would be of the walk forward why that was offensive and I'll tell you why I didn't think was offensive because my boss Vic room Moore who is now gone his reward he always sign notes to me to walk to the top it was a general manager and so you know I just yeah I never thought of myself was so naive and then we use them to bid on the radio injured in our came unglued and the rest is history so but I don't understand this it reminds me the Star Trek episode and every time I say this I can't remember the name of it but you know the two guys that are chasing each other through the galaxy in ones and Frank Gorshin was one of them who played the Riddler and Batman one of them was black on one side and one on the other world you know you don't notice it until Frank Gorshin is sitting there with curtain spot and talk about you know we gotta wipe out his kind and Spock says what you two are the only two left of your kind this is not my account what do you mean he's wide on the right I'm black on the right one on the left and this first time you noticed it and they don't leave the obviously a reference to the racial issues that were going on in the nineteen sixties in America and you know that's something I mean I died the whole prejudice thing was fast you don't understand praise you don't keep the Chinese out that's because a corona virus you full that's why we go full circle on this when you when you want to be prudent this is what happened in this country we have gotten so hypersensitive about race and things like this M. and about being prejudice that we don't do the common sense stuff it was like we were talking about profiling well that is one of the ways the police find criminals they've they've Whittle things down by profiling and it's not you know trying shrewd one thousand percent of the time but I tell you this if you're looking for a rapist on the loose more than likely it's gonna be a guy I don't know it just you know came to me in a dream so if we're looking for doing it if we're doing a traffic stop you know where people are coming to the to the intersection of the copter you gonna stop women no woman woman comes driving up say Hey man you've gone through or chance can hurt any questions she might be the right first no it's just common sense so if you've got this deadly virus is coming out of China why didn't we shut the door before now well I'm I'm gonna tell you I don't know how long this goes before you know what how much damage is going to do to the world economy because of political correctness it's in Italy now it's it's you know soprano south Korea's got it if they had closed the door and said well well well well well nasty virus coming out of your country we're gonna have to say Hey I'm sorry you can't come in until we figure this thing out yes I we started doing after nine eleven or we should have done until you know what it what was the analogy I use yes Ryan said somebody's Putin to pull and everybody's got to get out so we clean it up so I'm sorry you know if if it's going to inconvenience you but we can't take that chance we're gonna get a game will do and what he smokes Ambrose.

"Time yeah you'll like it it's been thirty years I was doing an interview the other a month ago and this was television television interview and she says you've been here thirty years and I never even slowed down to think about that that it was thirty years and believe it yeah it goes by quick eighty seven nine I came out here so when you see the town in thirty years big changes at some pretty incredible yeah and still find that the football arena is going to be outstanding you are what you wear to Vegas golden knights yeah jacket today so I know you're a sports fan to be in the community where I could not that's not a hard sell it to you live here I'm so proud of this hockey team is incredible the way they've been you know plan and the way that they've been going around town and and hanging out with the locals and when they have when they have time and I think it's the same thing for entertainers you know we love our city and we love them for being and doing so well yeah proud of them I'm glad you brought that up because I was thinking it is really no different than what you do in the sense that yeah your visitors and all that but you all of this town in Vegas Vegas is incredible yeah it's been really really special you know there's no place I'd rather be in the the entertainment capital especially for what I aspire to do and and raise a family and and have it all no well in its different all there is different now than it was back I'm thinking of Mike and rich little stay in Frank Gorshin in those people so much TV with it yeah you have to do it off reputation right I mean you got you have to make sure that when those people leave their laughing anyway going out to Vegas you gotta go see this guy he's great yeah that's the the best way to ever sell shown is that the show needs to do a number on the audience in a very positive way that they leave there I want to tell you know the world about it yeah that's always been my goal are you friends with the other in practice is impressionist in town yeah rich little has always been a mentor of mine and and he's he's a great friend one of the probably three years guys I know and a Paul Anka as well lives at the in LA but they're both from where I'm from Ottawa Canada okay and so when I first came out here those thirty years ago I wanted to meet them and I was so so honored that a that idea I was able to get backstage and meet them and be invited to their shows and through the years and working with both of them yeah yeah and it makes sense because both of them are kind of what you're good at it you're good at singing and you're really good at impressions of the us over with to the very best riches roses rich little just he's still to this day so supportive you know he's always been never give up cord keep at it so I know you do sing if you do or you do I politicians are to do some non singer said your little brother Travis gonna be fantastic if you came to the show you would see the lips Parker and you will see the wonderful hand work I'm doing right now it's terrific okay that's very good any other non singers that off the top of your head non non singers non singers you know yeah politicians or what anybody and even help me we got locked in he's in the show a lot of boys just to gather around is going to be very good time got the narrow yeah Jack Nicholson and we've got all kinds of family that comes around different actors and we'll have is great and and facial expressions is really it is really unfortunate there's no video to this because that goes along with it too who mannerisms is definitely part of and I can't help but when I do their voices turn into you know the character well my can of some of the people and I've never seen you do this but Johnny Mathis do you do that our Harmon thrown in the long but I have seems to be a care to try he just doing more on the tenth J. right now but Willie Nelson was excellence which onerous mama don't let your babies grow without paying their taxes spend at all the money have a lot of money maybe I didn't pay my taxes squad as often as I should have a similar joint but it was always is on my mom great and so let me get into your brain for a second if I can't see you pic you see somebody you wanna start and all the persons in my hand so they're all there I Stephen who you're talking to right now more with the veteran Vegas impressionist Cordy brown in just a few moments time now for one three living.

"No one wants Vegas with Muhammad Ali the boxer called himself the greatest there is somebody actually the we're talking Tuesday the you'll meet that it's actually the greatest vocal impressionist out there there's no really no question about it and he's been voted best entertainer of the year in Las Vegas six times if you can believe that the great Bobby Anderson was with us too at last time I saw him was over at the Venetian in that show called Frank the man the music with Vincent Falcone thirty two piece orchestra Bob but what a great pleasure to have the now you did something thank you for thank you for having me Hey any easy it's our pleasure to have you on a one of the things I want to ask you is you have a unique story you're really one of those cases you know everybody says they want to go to a baseball game and then fell ball was and they make a great catch in the globe the Hiram right there on the spot well that's sure to happen to you talk about the first time you had it because it you know you had talent but you didn't realize what was going to happen no I had no idea I think see what you're talking about is my introduction to Nancy Sinatra yes exactly and that all happened when I was a very young I guess I was twenty one years old I took a drive from Detroit I was going out west to California and I didn't realize that when I drove to Chicago on his right got travel that route sixty six really took me to Las Vegas so anyway I want up in Las Vegas how you drive into my car an old ugly folks wagon you know I'd cut off so lawn care sandals a peace sign for about local all that stuff and anyway because I had just come back from the enough so I was always in the fourth infantry division return later over there I get back unlikely my head from driving out west I go into Las Vegas I've been driving for three days and slept in my car I really did have the money for a hotel or motel I didn't didn't want to spend it so anyway I get there I'm looking up at the wall I look at theirs is the marquee at the Sahara hotel and it says Frank Gorshin and Joan rivers so I pull my car in their park it will be in the backseat nobody's going to see it and I I walked here and you know I'm shaven kind of gaudy looking but you know you can sleep in your car for a month when you're twenty one you come on you look great I sound like I said I get out and I want the end and I'm gonna have a fearsome sitting on the bar I I right by I see the Congress show room so I'm getting excited now I know that's where that said the they're they're working at three o'clock in the afternoon and some guy walks up and sits down beside me and we're having a drink and we get talking and find out that he's a journalist his name is mark ten and from he writes for The Hollywood Reporter and review journal Las Vegas all these things so after we're talking here about ten minutes he says a listen I'm going and to see a rehearsal it's Nancy Sinatra and the Everly brothers are opening tonight would you like to come in with me she's a friend of mine I see yeah that be great I go in so we wanted to run in there and we're certain for a minute and all of a sudden there's a big argument and fight on the stage and the Everly brothers to make the story short they wind up quitting the show they leave they walk off they had been rehearsing for a whole week and everybody's in a panic because the shows in open three hours so she's called everybody mac Davis Glenn Campbell Jack Jones to everybody she could get victim nobody could come over and help her this was Nancy Sinatra was hi this is their debut for her no record these boots are made for walking so she was and and you know so she was opening up the to her dad got earned I looked at the guy next to me and I said to this guy I as as a as seen these is no not not Steve mark I said okay mark mark so I said mark I'm a singer man I I can do whatever she needs and I'm really kind of joking on the square because I could sing and all that but I wasn't really into business or not so he starts laughing really hard and he says well who are controller actually make walking calories yet his workers will tell her that and as you just walk up there like that he said yeah he said it would be better if you address a little different the only last so I walked up to the stage and everybody just went silent and looked at me and thought how did he get in here so I think he's innocent Nancy I said I'm a singer I can you have unique and everybody broke out laughing the center conductor and he handed me a Mike and he said Bob now he was he was Elvis Presley's producer and Frank Sinatra's producers sick people don't realize this but the Sinatra family in for an Elvis Presley were very closely they were very close friends back to that the famous special you had back earlier in the day yeah yes what what's albums when he came back from from Germany right is that what you're talking sekali yeah because they were all very cool and Nancy was very close it out so and so is her father so anyway he says that he's there conductors which is next to give the kid a Mike this might be funny so how has that you okay site nor do we did give me a like a nervous started to play bond on the road at all this stuff and I wanted to sing along I know I stand in line and your thank you find the time to spend an evening with my number this on this show yeah something still yes something by saying something stupid like I love you well I did that I harmonize whether I did the whole song she came off the stage and hugged me and I open that evening at the main show room hotel more with singer an impressionist Bobbie Anderson in just a moment time now for your vegasinsider Scott Rolen of Iomega stock com today takes a look at the world dining in Vegas is different than almost any other place in the country certainly one thing they really his work well magus is let's talk about dining I mean now some of these restaurants not only have five they might have ten or twenty really solid restaurants and consequently the force to keep quality I because it not only competing with people outside the down a competing with people that are in the very facility there in some of these resorts it's funny because you'll any cuisine you want sometimes to restaurants with the same cuisine they they try not to compete against each other because there's some cannibalization but the volume of people at any given resort is is so high that it can it tends to be able to support multiple venues doing similar things because I mean whatever.

P. passes the whole deal so get involved in that I I certainly hope you get out there to see him up the fact that the show was campy was was any of that ever debated among the producers had to go in that direction or was it always intended to be kind of flip and fun and and light hearted that was her intention from the very beginning and we debated the word campy and it was a term of convenience but it was actually in those should Jericho and treat them you know but the trip them camp the man well my little camp followers hello the one where they'll follow the leader there right right that was capped no I don't think that Ben was really share that sense we are though prosecutors following apps yeah yeah cat woman occasionally but that was and curious stories about your cell of the file I tell you though that when you look back and and those shows have been restored beautifully on on television packages when you look back at just the sim simplicity of it all and when I was a kid and I'm sure everybody used to ask you this in the sixties how do you climb up those buildings Batman I mean that was the coolest thing in the world climbing up the building the way you and robin did my goodness and the secret is we just tell them on their cell and and I guess the question you posed as a million times I loved as questions of people as complete that did you ever have a chance to take any souvenirs from that amazing set I mean the cowl is the Cape anything well if you don't tell of a what I can tell you a little what are you from us my lips are sealed no one's listening but you mean about three hundred thousand or four thousand of my close friends okay this that some of the guys with the date were very friendly and is there like a show they used to say well but something that your truck come closer we watch the awards show you know I was able to take a few little things server there which when the show quote and you know I took the bat cave the six but yellow of juvenile things cost you a thing you know Adam west I look at it like a man sure old or old may I don't see why not and by the way I mean at the time I mean who knew that fifty years later people would still be going nuts over you and what you did in the original series I mean that's that's like the Star Trek thing everything in the sixties as hot as a pistol these days yeah you want to buy an old chair well the big geeks are taking over the world well have you noticed since the internet blew up in the twenty years ago have you noticed everything's just gone completely off the charts because in the old days we had a look at magazines and and find you on a on an occasional Entertainment Tonight to know what you were doing now everybody knows what everybody's doing that's right I object does realize that there is she shared on the way how do you feel about it I do too I think there's a certain privacy element that's gone and also I like the mystery in the the hunter in the investigation of the to try to track down my favorite people I think I've seen you at least once or twice it shows and I can tell this to the audience you're very personable and people love the opportunity to just hang out with this so I mean that's kind of that's kind of nice to know people you know have that that sense that you're a good guy and you really want to be out there to support the fans and help them I'm just a little sherry out actually before I let you go and again the northeast comicon event this is on the weekend of the twenty the twenty first go to northeast comic con dot net to the Wilmington Shriners auditorium and that is just thinking about the celluloid heroes that we had back then as opposed to today and I have no problem with all the super hero movies I love them but back then there was a certain innocence the Lone Ranger of Batman Superman wasn't there yeah and did that make us did that make it more fun overall that you didn't have to get into the the personal problems and ticket the host of Batman absolutely I mean you just did your thing now we have a very shallow at the executive producer who knew how the cash challenge and it was very successful your branch of the guest stars he just put things together play knowing that you know what was for the entire family spectrum and and I've got a said Bruce I was calling you Bruce Wayne can you believe that was good I was going to ask you about the theme okay I'm getting in the car I was going to ask you about the theme song and what Neal Hefti wrote that did me Adam sure yeah yeah let's say didn't perform but he wrote it Nelson were a little bit of a is that the bridge is that right back to the greatest arranged so not to use the money to the greatest arrangers in the history of pop music yeah when I wrote that then provoke produced a thing that's amazing that's right our guys have the knack well they certainly did what I could tell the cook and one more thing have you watched it all the new series on fox that just ended the first season Gotham if you cut that at all actually the level of it but I think it's pretty good yeah it is interesting to look at the backstory of all these folks and I can tell you this the little boy who plays you I'll call you is is adorable and very very talented so that bodes well for the I am adorable with a bunch of worms in your we have some big figure four brothers that is so huge I can't tell you because kind of a gag order thing I'm shackled lunch or coming back well I you know something I I wasn't going to press you for future plans but I am thrilled to add one thing I've always noticed about you Adam west is that you are sort of eternally optimistic youthful and fun and you look forward to.

"Barkley is protected area here yeah Manny back the throne is I'm going to see the one twenty two C. listen women still ship is there we could play we just the back end of that broadcast and listen to some hyena in a press it in the in the giants broadcast booth who is that hyena there who is that fan boy in the giants broadcast booth going let's hear it again how many here one more time calls out signals Barkley is protected in his life many back to close down the left side you can see what twenty two C. Louis Frank Gorshin as the Riddler on Batman at the other we are fine for that broadcast by the way should make sure that we give them proper credit pop pop is a fantastic call there Bob I'm sorry that you've got the you know the laugh track behind you all of a sudden it's like we gotta TGIF episode man takes no no I don't need to hear it again I really don't need to hear it again even the pop pop is incredible does a great job it shop tweets at me in the first year hall of Famer and I'm like oh my gosh ship doesn't understand first of all ship that is a violation of guy code now considering you wore woman's top to work yesterday I can understand where the violation may come from it's a violation of guy code when when the Mets are playing the Phillies or the eagles are playing the jets and the eagles were stopping the jets earlier this year I didn't feel the need to go on d'antoni's Instagram and be like spiking the football enacting that's a violation of guy code what wait a minute Jennifer you stop shopping at lane Bryant song or forever twenty one for your tops on Saturdays right you would understand that that is a violation of geico JK I what I didn't say was this is why the eagles defense can't hack it I didn't make a derogatory no you were spiking the football ally manning all no no no I was just pointing in alluding to something that you have been neglecting yes for years and years on that I ask you the question I ask you the question again and you have been taught you have the entire show to research it I'm gonna give you a three hour window to research it I want you to tell me a hall of fame quarterback that ever against their top rival in the division and no it's not Dallas I've cushion morass tried to pull that crap with me the other day whereas Dallas is not your top rival in the division because Dallas has not even been to an NFC title game in a quarter of a century that's fair they haven't played for anything the eagles the giants have been consistently and NFC championship games have won super bowls things like that multiple with the giants tell me the hall of fame quarterback that ever had a twenty two game stretch against their arch rival where they went for an eighteen is a star but your picture you will no no but you know what I'm asking is that picking Jack no it's not no no no no no no no I wasn't you have no balls he has a he does have a winning record against Dallas either by the way okay so you got to so wait a minute so do it I know it now tell me any hall of fame quarterback any one of that went for an eighteen versus their top rival in a twenty two game stretch that is exactly the opposite by the way of NIT picking okay so you have to tell the nets your getting something very small that's twenty two games that's not small right that is large that is a that is a large that's something that you and Jay Berman could wear together okay I think you know you guys a large funny I include the great tiki barber in this argument JKR in you can add to of course not going to be biased in this at all okay who has waited jet yeah they wouldn't be biased in this argument what a who has yeah I many had at his medals on his team that has been a hall of Famer on the office so what are you talking about need my name is played with he's not a hall of Famer maybe someone else he played with just answering questions with questions I just made a statement to you and I challenge you there is no hall of fame quarterback that ever in the history of the NFL went for an eighteen versus their top rival over twenty two starts with the Chargers rival I think here I'll get your deflect you're asking the question question yes who's all three quarterbacks in the charger who's the charges rival because I can I am I'd be shocked if bout your top similar right here to set against the chiefs or Tarkington against the Packers and go look they didn't they didn't top no they did okay they didn't because you know why because Fran Tarkenton I think with how many super bowls I love without a soul to allow many championships did leave his teams play for I mean it you can beat that deal I manning the book of Eli sorry Joe Tessitore the book of Eli is very very it's very slim it's a pamphlet JK's a pamphlet taking one side of the argument know what you're doing my picking but it but it gets the greatest quarterback in the history of the game name is someone else that has the record that you like has against him on the neck falls I that's one that's one game I that's one they were to get what are you talking about do you like me to provide safe now what does it you're you're going to take three days I just gave you twenty two when you just if you want to look at it it's nonsense the ride is accepted Hey I add that is is is taking a really big on us does he really defend us because I'd love to have this debate with tiki barber but he doesn't get up on Sunday mornings I don't think at this hour I would love to debate this with my man tiki barber he's awesome are coming up we'll get to it there's one reason why.

"You having a negative thoughts. no one plays a weird crazy guy better than walking free well cash yeah it's the type casting it's kind of like you build it from there you'll pass the guy and then you find out with us or you're gonna tell so how is it it's it's genuinely disturbing in it's it's really interest in their direction they take with this because it without the mythology of Batman which is kind of slipped in there it's really the story about this loner cast aside by society who sort of becomes a radicalized in his views and the way that they play it very much speaks to today and some of today's crazies in some of the way that fringe people are becoming dangerous and society there are a lot of overtones to today politically and otherwise and I I wonder how this movie is going to be received its opening super wide on October fourth there's a lot of anticipation for this thing there's a wards talk surrounding Joaquin Phoenix who is legitimately super crazy in it but it outside of even the comic book round the kind of leaves you with a thereby disturbed feeling but it's I'm not a comic book movie like all the kids who go to a to see yet another movie in the DC or Marvel universe it's not doesn't seem to be in that realm not really it uses that as a spring board and there's just enough of the Batman stuff to to to keep you there does that suggest that the and that now that they've developed this whole story that they'll be a Batman movie with him playing the joker I read that there because I think Robert Pattinson is going to be our new battery and I I I read that they're packed their pads will not cross this is just meant to be a standalone but it's it's definitely a because a lot of talk when it comes out in a couple weeks how does the Phoenix version of the joker compare to heath ledger now back in that one by all accounts he was absolutely consumed with this part I I think that similarly. Joaquin Phoenix lost fifty pounds for this role kind of went crazy and it it while making it and I think the same way that the heath ledger version made you kind of say what was going on with Jack Nicholson's version the Joaquin's almost makes he's seen cartoony hi mom this is a movie that's going to be discussed outside of the realm of normal comic book movies and I'm interested to see what you guys have a Caesar Romero never recovered.
