"Every guy's excited to go play ball and go do our thing. What's that energy out here, baby? Let's go, come on, come on, baby. Start up individual. You know what we have in the slot room? I mean, we know we can be. I be on my grind hustle I'm a shine when you're up, man, it's gonna be a fast season, but it's gonna be a fun season. Football, it's getting closer. You can just smell it, who's saying hello and welcome into NFL. We've got a full crew. We've got from left to right, keeps young Johnson. Rob nikov Adam Schefter and I am field dates. It's a busy Thursday because why we're covering football. It's always busy. And we got some news right out of the gates check. Let's start in San Francisco. What can you tell us about a notable retirement? Field Frank Gore is shining with the forty-niners, not to play with them amazingly enough, but to retire as a 49er and Frank Gore goes out as the NFL's third old time leading rusher. The only players to rush from courtyards in Frank Gore are Walter Payton and Emmett Smith, Frank or led the forty-niners in rushing, played for the coach, played for the bills, played for the jets, played everywhere, didn't play last season, wasn't going to play this season, so he's now making it official signing a one day contract to retire with the team that he's so closely identified with in San Francisco in order to talk to the Miami running back to play with Edgar and James and Clinton portis would go on to become the third lead in Russia overcoming injuries and all the adversity in his career a tip of the cap to a man who had an unbelievable NFL run. Yeah, an incredible run. A guy who came in with durability questions and went on to become the leading the leader running back in terms of games played in NFL history, 241 games played by Franco Franco remarkable consistency and speaking of consistency. He had at least 1200 scrimmage yards in 12 straight seasons from 2006 to 2017. That's the longest such streak in NFL history. So key as you reflect back on the career, a friend quote, what stands out to you about his run. All right, it's just that this is worth it. Right? You got to think his endurance, all the different things that it's 16 years, 16 years, averaging about 4.6 yards, an attempt. I mean, that's a lot of workhorse inside of that, and you think about it. He has a Hall of Fame career. I know a lot of people start that debate now, but in my opinion, if I was a voter, he certainly is a Hall of Famer because if you can rush for 16,000 yards in 16 seasons, that's a lot on your body for a running back when they're trying to get rid of running backs after four or 5 years. Yeah, it's amazing. His durability and the ability to play year in and year out thousand yards, thousand yards, thousand yards. I mean, I remember playing him and he is so strong. One of the hardest guys to tackle to get on the ground because of the fact that he's so dedicated and listen, I tip my hat to guys like that because you know that when they're on that football field they came to play and he was one of them guys old school guy every single weekend. He was coming to play. So Frank Gore, I tipped my hat to a heck of a career and everything you do in the future. If you got that same mentality, watch out. I want to tackle you. Well, we've already seen that mentality carry over to the boxing ring as he has become a boxer in his post football playing career. He is eligible for the Hall of Fame starting in 2026. We're going to stay in San Francisco. Another storyline and debo Samuel remains a 49er still no new contract and as far as we know still has his trade request out to the team, but GM John lynch doesn't sound like a man who's planning to grant debo that wish that he made earlier this off season. We had to trade it. I used the word fool. I'd be a fool to trade. So yes, a little hard to hear the audio there, but John lynch was making it clear. He'd be a fool to trade away deebo Samuel. So let's get chef to hear on the latest. What more can you tell us about where things stand with deebo Samuel? Well, feel they never came close to trading deebo Samuel despite the fact that deebo Samuel had asked Jeff darlings and said publicly that he wanted to be traded out of San Francisco. Now, we still have not been given a detailed reason from deebo Samuel, there have been a lot of theories floating around after why he doesn't want to be back there. But the fact of the matter is the draft is coming on. There's no real viable shooter. There's nobody that's going to compensate the forty-niners in a way that essentially compensates them for a player as valuable as he is to their offense. There's nobody that brought more firepower to them than deebo Samuel might be the best player on their team. And they're not just going to go trade somebody like that, even if he wants to be moved. And so right now, you heard John lynch last night, he saying that he would be a fool to trade him and it looks like they're determined to hold on to debo despite the fact that he has said that he doesn't want to be there. Yeah, sometime times can heal, but kill me ask you this. If debo Samuel is not going to be traded by the forty-niners, does it make sense for him to hold out? Oh, absolutely. 100% feel. I wouldn't step foot in San Francisco on a football field. You hold out to get your money. People Samuel, look, this is, he's still on his first contract. He hasn't hit pay dirt. He hasn't got to a second or third big payday. There's no reason to risk. I understand when people say, oh, why don't you go in? Why don't you give them an opportunity? No, I'm not giving them anything. Pay me my money. And he deserves to be paid. If he had won a Super Bowl two, had made 60, $70 million and wasn't on his rookie deal, it's a different conversation. The fact that he needs a secure his future. For the rest of his life, he needs to sit out until they pay him his money. Period. And guess what? The forty-niners agree with you. They want to pay them. They want to give him a new deal. And with all the wide receiver deals that have been given out, this off season, it's really not all that hard to figure out what the numbers on a debo deal should be. We could do it right now before the show ends. 22, 23, $24 million a year. Come up with a number that's fair. Make it work. They want to pay him K unlike you. Debo has been unwilling to take the money so far. Well, hey, you are unwilling to take the money too. Don't you dare go there with me, but look, Adam and all, in all seriousness, though, when you look at it, where do they value him? Where is he sliding on their pay scale or are they trying to offer him a contract as a running back or the offering one as a receiver? We don't really know what they're saying because he's out there. He said, basically, he doesn't want to talk to them about it. So they can't even give him the numbers. That they want to pay him, but at some point when training camp is coming, then does he lose an accrued season? Is he willing to risk today out and miss out on that money? Is he willing to incur the fines that would come along with not there's so much that would come along with not. That's a decision. But here's what I would say about that, though, Adam in terms of accruing a season. He comes in. I think it's ten games that he would have to play. He gets, I mean, being at least 7 games. So he gets the season on top of missing the money in all respect to the players that's making money and it's not chump change, but when you look at it, what he will be missing and being fine versus what he would be gaining is not a whole lot at all. If he can afford, if he can afford to do it, though. The rules are different with the new CBA. They're more punitive than when you were played. They would have punished you back in the day for doing some of the things you did. Deebo, I don't know they can afford to stay away from training Campbell. See, well, we'll see whether he can resist being there at mini camp as well, which is 11 days away. It is mandatory for San Francisco or debo is subject to.

"Of money part. Okay, speaking of money, 'cause we just had a conversation about money and how you need that money to survive. You know who got a lot of damn money that dude by the name of LeBron James. He got a lot of money. Every time I talk to him, when I hit him up or he hit me, I always tell him and I hate you. I hate you, bro yeah. Having that bra, you can't count is a beautiful thing, okay? But beyond that, I think I heard LeBron talking about and I want you know that you and Braun got a close relationship and y'all know each other. You know how much he loves his family, you know how much he loves his kids. You know ultimately that's really what LeBron is about. Taking care of his family, helping people. The basketball thing, he just graded. He was born to do it. He was talking, bro and I thought it was so fascinating because on the NFL side we had Frank Gore, who was playing for a long time. I thought his son was going to actually get to the league while he was playing. But LeBron said he wants to be on the floor when his son brawny gets drafted or has the opportunity to make it to the NBA. I swear to God, bro, the Manning's on the first family of football. And I used to be like, man, it is so dope that your brother start for the New York Giants and his other brothers start for the Denver Broncos or the colts at the time. I just thought that was phenomenal. I thought it was phenomenal that your daddy was the starting quarterback for the New Orleans Saints back in the day. Like that's phenomenal, but park I don't know if I ever saw the potential of some dude playing with his son. Like he and Griffin and Cree Griffith junior we've seen it in baseball with Barry and his father, but basketball dog. Yep. LeBron might I don't know it, perk, but LeBron might be in the NBA when his son has a chance to get drafted into the NBA. Talk to me. I can't even really wrap my head around. What is no Mike if you don't get injured or a serious injury, he's going to be there. You know, yes. You know what? If when it comes down to LeBron, and all the individual accurate, all the milestones he has reached all the milestones, he's going to continue to reach. The one thing in the world that he wants and that can't be replaced the milestone that he want to do is be able to share the court with Ronnie. Whether that's playing with him, or compete with him. And that's something that will over that will Trump everything else that he's done in his basketball career. It will, for me, it worked for me as well..

"He's been really good early and then fades late. How do you see that fight? I see this fight being a lot better for Parker he knows what to expect. He was keeping his head up a little bit too high. He was fighting too tall, the jab was a little lazy. He got knocked down in the first round, I believe, right? In that fight? So I said yeah, first round. Okay, so anytime you get dropped in the I tune out when you're talking to him. But anytime a fighter gets knocked down that early, he stops he stops worrying about the game planning just stops starts worrying about winning rounds and not getting hit like that again. So the game plan got thrown out really early in that fight. For this fight, he knows what to expect. He already felt the power. He probably got shocked by the fact that chisora was able to close the distance that fast for being a big guy. Yeah, it's going to be a different fight with a snappy jab, keeping the distance, keeping that chin down, which is most important for Joseph Parker and letting go of that right hand at the right time in the second half of the fight. I could see him hurting just so maybe not knocking him out, but hurting him where the corner has to maybe look into it, the doctor maybe even the referee. He can knock him out. I mean, just knock out a bowl. I don't think with one punch. It's gonna be a it has to be accumulation of right hands and jabs and stuff like that. It won't be a one punch knockout. Parker's not that eraser type. So someone's gonna have to get involved, but one too many wars, you know, so a lot of wars. He has no intention of retiring. Should they call them war? Well he's kind of adopted that in recent years. He was dull boy for a long time. And I was like, he's a fun fighter. He, to me, though, is a gatekeeper at this point. Look, as he's said to us before, we've called some of his fights. He's not a championship fighter. He's a money weight fighter. He fights for cash at this point. So he draws fans. He'll be the crowd favorite over in the UK. I just don't see the skill set. He's a prize fighter. And I think he can see what the press conference when he had the piece of tape over his mouth. Eddie pay me to talk. He busted that, I believe his Marilyn Monroe says I don't get up out of bed at least for $2000. Remember, he did that to prograde Taylor before their fight..

"But that could also end in stoppage by somebody. So yeah, I would love that fight. All right, a few more things I want to run through. On Friday, we've got another light heavyweight title and action two in fact. An archer better be of takes on Marcus Brown. As we record this Sergio, I'm pretty sure that fight happens, but right now, Canada is a complete shit show with the COVID-19 virus spreading all over the place. The fight is probably going to take place behind closed doors at the bell center, better be of undefeated knocked out every opponent along the way. Marcus Brown, he's got that Olympic pedigree, but he's also lost his young Pascal and I mean, it doesn't look like it has not looked to this point like he's on the level of archer better beer. How do you see that fight kind of playing out? Yeah, I mean, as soon as you talk about, how do you see this fight and who do you favor? The first thing that pops up in your head is on better vision and knock them out. But anybody that knows boxing anyone that studies the numbers studies the opponents studies the background, you mentioned it, U.S. Olympian, check. So as an amateur experience, he's a tall southpaw check. He's going to give the lefty angles. I think the difference here that we're not seeing the secret weapon here is going to be Derek James. The trainer. First time working on Marcus Brown. Exactly. The motivation is going to be the fact that he's going to be in camp with maybe the best southpaw in the world and Errol Spence. He's going to pick up that southpaw information, the motivation. He's going to be he's going to want to impress him as well. He's asked charlo a beast so he learns the meanness out of Charlotte. So he has a good mix of three brilliant boxing minds right there in that small camp, and none of them are fighting, so he had Derek James to himself. There are James concentrated, however long it was two, three months, just focusing on better beef. Who is beatable, who was overweight for this fight might have been struggling with a point to .36 years old and I just, why do you silly matter? Why do you say better be of his beatable? Now he got knocked down by Callum Johnson. That was more of a flash knockdown for better. We have a couple of years ago. But why do you think he's beatable? I just think maybe lots of good do it. 'cause it's very good fighter. You know, father time and once I know what it's like to fight at 36 years old. But he fights different. He's a 36 is 36 different. 36 is 36, man. And that's why what donara is doing is incredible. And any fighter that's still in the top level past 35 is special. It really is special. There's a young man's game, and the fact that it might be time, the perfect storm might be brewing, but if there's a secret weapon here at the amateur pedigree, the fact that he has the experience coming from Pascal and Derek James in his corner. All right, so you're picking the upset. I'm a throw a couple hundred on that. You're throwing money on Marcus Brown. Todd Grissom, Todd Grisham and I you're throwing money on Mars Brown. You know what? That's something that if the odds are right, yeah, why not? Okay..

"By your logic, Alexander usak is the man in heavyweight. Do you believe that? No. He's got, okay, then what's the difference? You know, that's a good point. Maybe it's just the fact that he collected all the belts, kimbos is collected all the belts. Not a unification, not two belts. The ring, the lineal championship, he the way he did it in the hometown of tee of female Lopez. It was hard. I mean, everything was just there. It was aligned. It was a storybook victory. That's why he's number one. Look, in this sport, one story in one punch one punch can change your life in this sport. That's what makes it so beautiful. The fact that you can lose it and lose everything in one night and you can gain it back in one more fight. That's the beauty of this. You can't do that in basketball. No, you can't do it anymore, but you can do it in no other sport. You can kind of do it. Well, I mean, when a Super Bowl you change everything. But I don't disagree that it was a magical moment for George campos. And he should cash in on that. But I watched lomachenko, not just this last fight, but his previous fight against nakatani, and every fight prior to the day a few more Lopez fight. And he was brilliant. He was arguably for the last few years, the top pound for pound guy in the sport. He is rebounded from his only loss at lightweight and won two straight. He beat up on a very good fighter like you said in Richard Comey. And if you were gonna match lomachenko against George camb boss tomorrow, I mean, you and I both know we both pick lomachenko to win that fight. And by that standard, that's why I put lomachenko at number one. It would be a good fight because Cambodia knows how to follow game plan and he knows how to cut the distance. That's probably his best asset. The fact that he knows how to close the distance really well. He's an excellent fighter. But he knows how to do it in a sneaky timing is probably his best acid timing and cutting distance, but lomachenko is the smaller lightweight. So he's not only is he going to have to cut that on our show there this week, but how much Comey's a big lightweight, right? Comey's a big guy. Lomachenko didn't look that small against him. You put lomachenko and cam boasts in the ring. Yeah, Kim, both might have a couple inches on him height wise, but physically, like lomachenko was the thicker guy in a matchup like that..

"Thursday. September twenty third. Twenty twenty one. Here's what's happening with your san francisco. Forty niners the first real practice of the week is in the books. Let me get you the news. Update those who did not practice. Kevin gibbons je michael hasty. Both of those guys have a high ankle sprain. Eric armstead did not practice with the ad. Dr muscle injury those that were limited emmanuel. Moseley coming off that knee injury. Although the forty niners did cut divergent from the practice squad so that is a good sign. That moseley could be back in the lineup against green bay. Trae sermon was limited in the blue practice jersey. Because of a concussion although kyle did say he was trending in the right direction and giovan kin law who as we know has a banged up knee although he did play seventy percent of the snaps last week so hopefully even if he didn't practice that much he can still get in the game also. The forty niners have signed another running back. That would be chris thompson. And they also signed defensive lineman eddie yarborough to the practice squad to make room on the practice squad. They did release tight. End jordan mathews now. Both kyle shanahan and jimmy garoppolo spoke yesterday. I i was just talking about the running backs. let's start with kyle shanahan. A lot of people have said that the forty niners favor the outside zone and they like guys that are super fast so they can get to the edge quickly. Kyle was asked about this yesterday in his press conference because like we pointed out they signed. Jaquez patrick who is not a burner. Who is six to two hundred and forty pounds. And kyle said that. Don't think that the only thing that he can run is the outside zone. Thing redeem changed a lot of stuff you know. So when whenever his speed which is different than everyone's We get used to having that and you start to design stuff for that which i don't think many people in the world can do But we've never been never said we have to have guys who run for threes. I was really never been like that if you look at the history of some of our runners and stuff it's just kind of morphed into that recently But we just look for who without the best runner would be They come in all different shapes and sizes. That's a really interesting thought to me. Because when the forty niners had their draft and we saw that they drafted two guards that were big guys than weren't necessarily as mobile as his guards usually are the thinking was that maybe the forty niners are going to run. More power runs up to gut with trae lance and maybe some of the other running backs on the field now. We haven't seen that so far but maybe it was something that's been on. Kyle's mind for awhile. It's not exactly a surprise that remo. Cert- got hurt. So maybe we could see more of the inside runs that we thought we were going to see when the forty niners made their draft picks in april and oh by the way maybe we see a little more trae lance potentially doing some of those inside runs against a very very soft green bay. Packers defensive front now onto jimmy garoppolo. We're gonna play a cut from ham which was echoed by multiple people yesterday. Kyle shanahan talked about it. Fred warner talked about it. And that is the crazy environment at the packers are going to have to come into on sunday night. You all know. Fans and leave is for the first time since the nfc championship game. Which oh by. The way was played against the green bay packers. It's actually the first real road game for the packers because if you remember while technically the game in week one for them against the saints was a road game but because of the hurricane they relocated that to jacksonville so that was more of like a neutral field type thing so it's really going to be the first road test for the packers as well. Eight is going to be a crazy environment. and jimmy. Garoppolo was asked if he's looking forward to it and he didn't pull any punches. Oh yeah yeah we Has been a while since packers were the last team. Actually with the crowd here. So it's i kinda come full circle now but it'll be exciting. Getting the faithful back in the stands can't wait to get all them screaming and everything like that it's gonna be it's gonna be a fun atmosphere. I think he's completely right and i would love. I am hoping that right out of the gate. The forty niners can get one big play either an explosive plan offense or like a bosa sack maybe turnover something big right out of the gate and just have you know that plays will be shaking. 'cause four hundred fans are going to be pumped and i think you could knock green bay out with a couple of big plays early. Specially since aaron rodgers seems to have one foot out the door already this season we always give you one thing to read one thing to watch and one thing you might have missed on the show. One thing to read on this thursday actually a good piece from david lombardi in the athletic. It's about the forty niners backfield and now that they've had all these injuries. What kind of a running back group can they put together and does the sort of narrative that kyle shanahan can just use any running back. He wants in the backfield to gain a thousand yards. Does that really hold up. When you examine it. I read it. And i have to say. I think the answer might surprise. You one thing to watch again the running backs given all the problems here. Cash-in-hand was actually asked yesterday whether he thought about checking in. I'm thirty eight year. Old frank gore. I would never put anything past frank by give them a little heads up some notice. You'll always be ready to work and help a team that was lower early for that in our guys still have a chance of playing this week never fully ruled that out on exactly where he is right now but a number of people in your relationship with them and that time ever comes that we need to do that and he wants to do it then whenever rolled out one thing you might have missed..

"Which is samsung is my phone samson balance. My hands on pop shot their watch. I'm not gonna talk about samsung right. Dallas y'all samsung saying. Watch gang gang calvin johnson. You love the business of sports. And i wanted to get into something with you what that is about loyalty and emotion. So calvin johnson's one of the best players in the history of the detroit. Lions lions such bad franchise that they make two of the best players ever quit. Calvin johnson leaves and they make him pay back. One point six million dollars of his signing bonus and calvin johnson says okay. I'm going to be disgruntled the rest of my life. I'm going to be a disgruntled lion. Great i'm never going back to your stadium. Then they say we'll give you some of your money back but in three installments. If you make twenty eight appearances as promos and he says you could bleep. All the way off i am i just want my money back and can you give me my money back. Otherwise i'm not going to represent your organization in a way that's not angry. Who's right the organization. Just have to give him one point six million dollars for nothing because that's he wanted for nothing and contractually they don't have to do it but it feels like they should do it. Yeah that's one of those ones that you have to weigh the pros and cons in the nfl. Is that one point for me. I always like way the headache in a sense of if you give somebody the money to cut ties and have a clean cut. That's because we want to be done with you as well as you being done with us. And it's almost amicable. If that's the word but i don't know man i'm the type. I have money that. I've left on the table overseas. I people know wnba players. We play overseas every year. And they don't pay you one time. The environment isn't the greatest. And i'm the type that if i was him i'm gonna i'm just gonna leave it like i. I've left money on the table to be done with the situation. So i kind of look into other ways. Not worth that headache. They trying to make you twenty eight appearances for it and all this. I would leave the money on the table if i was him. We have to. Rene we have to clinton portis was in the news here mike. This had to have made you sad right. Because clinton portis comes from a un backfield they'd had mcgahey and frank gore in it right. It was the three of them at one time. Mcgahey was the fullback. There were like three injuries before we had to get to mcgahey. That's how deep that team was. Well yeah yeah clinton portis. Frank gore mcgahey nausea davenport all at one point It made me sad but it also gave me A reason as to why he wasn't texas back for the tailgate at the alabama game. If the audience doesn't know this back story clinton portis made a lot of money. Part of a seismic. Nfl trade him for champ bailey. Great running back in denver all the running backs in denver were great and then he gets out of football and it's hard to make money. It's hard to make money the way you were making money and now it's fraud and now is it ten years in prison because he in some other. Nfl players got involved in a medical insurance fraud scam. And i know it's easy rene for us to judge these guys and say how could you go broke. You made so much money but the worst thing for the worst thing is not being poor. It's being poor being rich and then being poor again because you got to. You got to feel something that felt good. And once it's over. Rene these guys don't have a way. Sometimes of making a big sum of money if they blown through their fortune now it is. It is the easiest thing to say that they shouldn't be broke but their lifestyles are just different. I mean whether or not people think that they should spend the money on the things that they spend the money on okay. Maybe that's up for debate but a lifestyles certain lifestyles that same way. A judge will allow someone to get paid to keep their lifestyle. You get a divorce you have to pay your wife or your husband to keep their lifestyle because that's the thing But for me it's tough because it's like i always tell athlete now with name image and likeness. Hope there's an education part to it because all we do is give athletes a gazillion dollars. No one helps them. And i know it's like oh poor athletes. No one wants to hear about millionaires. That don't know how to deal with their money. But a lot of times we see athletes where they came from. It wasn't an educational background. So i feel bad for when i see stories like that. Because that's just somebody that's trying to stay on top doing whatever they can to do it. The gymnast testifying has been something. That has been heartbreaking and listening to them say it felt like the entire system was against us. It's not just about protecting gymnastics. But it's giant legal institutions that failed us by making a predator. Have more pray. Because they didn't do their job correctly. You listen to some of that testimony simone biles and others and thought what in our thought. It's crazy because imagine like i always think about it from opposition like imagine me wanting to be at the highest level basketball playing the wnba and to do that. I need to be in a toxic environment. you know. that's that's crazy because then you have to choose between your passion and then what's going on in your reality and that's like that's what they were in you know. And when i wanna bob costas show and one of the gymnasts was on there and she talked about after she has like after..

"Let guys like davison who maybe didn't have the longevity but like those years speak for themselves he was above and beyond when when you have a guy who moves like. Jamal did that yards per carry. Average alone should like signal like man. I didn't even watch him but it's not like he played behind great law. It's not like he was running behind. Willie roaf like priest. Holmes did it's not like he was planned for great head coaches. it's not like matt. Cassel kept defenses. Honest you know. The guy was playing for like a rotation of offensive coordinators. You plan for the worst quarterbacks in ireland until like read comes in the area. He was the most dynamic player to watch. It's like The chiefs lucked out to me to me. Jamaal charles was the most dynamic offense of weapon in the game when he was healthy. The chiefs have that now and tyree kill the single most dynamic offensive weapon in the game. We've been lucky. Have to in the last decade or so So yeah to me. it's. I'm with you except i take it all the way out like i'm i'm so against the hall of longevity that i think frank gore is in no way a hall of famer get that get that out of here no way not. In any season frank gore was never one of the top five running backs in football that he played so even a frank gore place twenty five seasons i would never identify frank gore as like. Oh yeah. he was one of five best that year. No he wasn't he was always. I mean he was always like a top ten back. He just played for forever and sometimes top fifteen. I just don't get his hall of fame case to me. I think he's great good to great for very long time. means he'll get into teams ring of honor or whatever's going on there but but You know to me. How many defense. How many defensive coordinators went into their weekly game planning beyond like. What are we going to do about franken yet. Nobody nobody ever like you were never like shit man. We gotta play frank gore this week. You know right. Julio jones go into the titans. I was like damn it. I don't want that guy in the titans. She's have to play that guy he's really good. I don't wanna have to deal with them. I get even when. I know that the chiefs are better than the titans. Derrick henry can record game he can record game. It doesn't matter. Nobody's ever said that about frank gore and they said that about jamaal charles. I think make excellent points. It's just absurd and you know. I don't know why we cling to this idea that that that well you just you have to play a certain amount of time where you had to have one super bowls super bowl's like those are like their bonuses right. They like their resume adar's but like the idea is how good were you there. Fifty three guys on the team like there are eleven dudes on the field. This isn't like the nba. Where like you can be so good that you can just win a game by yourself like that doesn't really happen in the nfl. With maybe the exception of patrick mahomes. Who's absolutely insane. you know. there's not too many people who could just put a team on their back. That way football it. Just schimmel charles. Todd would not play in todd. Was thomas jones in there. let's get todd's carries. Thomas jones is veteran. Leadership was all about the intangibles plan..

"Some in the nineties but almost all of his stats came in the two thousands. He's a borderline hall of famer. You have somebody like fred taylor. Who's a personal favorite of mine underrated. Yeah he's a borderline hall of famer. And i think he had over twelve thousand rushing yards in his career. You don't have him on. He literally almost doubled up. The career rushing yards. Brian westbrook. I i said before the show. And i'll say it on air. Pf is purposely making these tweets. Were they get the top ones correct in the whole bottom. Half of the list is people that don't belong there because they know i'll get a reaction and they're literally click baiting and that pisses me off. Because they shouldn't be doing that they have a better reputation than that but they've suddenly started doing this. Well that's the frustrating thing that the whole point of pro football focus was supposed to be. Hey we're going to go beyond the eye test beyond the bias is beyond that type of thing. Get you better information to make you smarter fan. And yet what they're doing here is just blatantly intellectually dishonest. And i feel like there's two. Pf fs there's the the pf all the ratings and things like that. Which by the way. I still respect i still. I don't think they're the end. All be all but i think there are a really good tool to evaluate players and i love that but the social media. Pf is horrible. Because they just throw out tweets like this and it's just like if you know anything about the sport you know they're full of shit right one running back. I just had to look at the talks. Felt like i was forgetting some people that i would probably personally it. It's a fifty fifty. But somebody like james now You don't edgerrin. James has almost sixteen. Thousand career yards from scrimmage despite the injuries and he has almost one hundred touchdowns to he did a lot in half the career. Edward james was a good player. But you put frank gore with peyton manning railway marvin harrison. I think his numbers. I mean you know. Gore was on those forty nine or teams. It was nothing there was nothing else going on with those forty nine offenses except frank gore and he was still churning out thousand yard seasons. The problem with that argument for me is it opens a pandora's box okay. How many really good running backs out. There were lost on really bad teams and so they don't get to be in this argument only because they're on bad teams. You know what. I mean like me. Start making that argument and you open it up to well. This guy would have done this if he was on a better team. This guy would have done that. You know what i mean. When they finished third all time in rushing they could be part of that argument. That's where i draw the line. Like i get what you're saying. But it's not like gore didn't also produce on those bad teams he he. He's not stephen jackson who had a really good career. Who i think could have been way better. But he was just stuck on those awful rams teams gore's third all time in rushing is he third where my saying fourth. He's thirty sixteen thousand yards. He's a. He's about a little less than eight hundred yards ahead of barry sanders. I don't know why. I'm i've been saying fourth but yeah gore's guess i'm i'm an odd duck because i truly can fully eliminate the fans side of myself But of course one of my all time favorite niners like you know you can see me on video our listeners. Camp right over my shoulder. I have literally like four foot by three foot photo framed. And it's frank gore the biggest photo on my wall. It's frank gore strew like. I'm a big fan. But i'm able to eliminate the fan. Part of me wants to say well if he's on better teams or in to me when you start talking about all time greats. They all put a big numbers in their careers. So i start to value who was truly dominant who who had the higher peaks and that's why i don't have gone on my top. Ten gore's peak is not as high. You can argue. That's because he was on bad teams during his twenties. But i personally look at it and there are guys that had two thousand plus scrimmage yards multiple years in a row and did it three or four times in their career and gore is one year like is one year of fifteen hundred or more rushing yards. I have a hard time saying a guy that only top fifteen hundred yards once is top panel time now you. Hey frank gore that's fine. That's just the difference between the two of us. I like the all time. Best players in franchise history. And you. don't that's fine. That's just how we're different your emotional in your fan and you don't wanna piss off other fans. Oh yeah that's me. i'm the guy that doesn't that that couches his opinions to not make people mad as i've just got all sorts of hate because i said george kittle needs to catch more touchdowns all i can say is you are definitely more a fan and i think there's probably in my opinion. A little bit of homeowners khomeinism. Coming into your opinion here. How dare you. How dare you question my integrity on on this network. You are a huge jerk. All right that's going to do it for this edition of the show. Thanks for listening everybody. If you haven't done it already please. Follow the niners nation podcast network. "Let's welcome in craig. Burley julian laurent and moreno guys. Plenty of world cup. Qualifiers to discuss. Let's start with the pick of the day from wednesday in group g turkey a four two victory over the netherlands bracket mouse with the hat trick. Telenovela scored as well david class in luke. Diong the goal scores for the dutch memphis to pie missing a penalty late. See this was a crazy game to come out more impressed with turkey or disappointed in the dutch. Oh definitely disappointed in the dodge. Listen to the tux. Four shorts and four goals. Something something crazier so clearly. The game plan was to keep tight and try and catch jonah. And so for them. It was a perfect game for the dutch yes. They scored two goals away from home. Yes they got. Apparently but all of these things were when it was too late and with a possession. The dutch with the ball particularly in the attack in the did absolutely nothing with so going forward in some respects. They a blunt. Clearly we useful goals. You got problems at the back. Alley pre pandemic. I feel like we were talking about. The dutch is a potential favorite. Dr course at least for the euro's things have certainly changed under frank gore and you just mentioned the name that changed at all frankly war he gets a hold of this national team and it's my goodness this is going to possess the ball to that they're gonna pass the ball sideways and back but when it comes to being efficient in the attack well there ineffective. This is a team that in the first half. Yeah they had all the possession in the world but did nothing with it as stephen. Just alluded to it and then defensively. Not enough for incision not enough work in one v one situations almost prize that the turkish team was actually getting after an attacking them when there were opportunities to do so. This team has all sorts of flaws. But i think the biggest flaw comes from the top frank gore. I just have to say. I have no idea how he got his hands on this national team job and to me it looks like a guy who dosing match the personnel that he has available to him on the field. This team is all over the place

"Relationship with Bruce Arians, you know, I don't know what they're gonna have going. You know for next season, But if I'm a part of it if I if they want me to be a part of it, I'll be a part of it for sure, because I'm definitely trying to. Adam told me to mind my resume. Oh boy, A P, The latest veteran ago Ring chase in and try to jump on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers bandwagon. It's pretty amazing that Adrian Peterson is still even effective. He's 35 years old. Let's face it. He has a lot of blows on that body, and that's a guy that took a lot of shots and most running back to do But because he was so big ran so upright, he took a lot of punishment. If you look at the last three seasons his age 33 season in Washington had over 1000 yards his age 34 season in Washington had 900 yards and five touchdowns. And last year despite being released by Washington, landed with Detroit and started 10 games and ran for 600 yards in seven touchdowns at 35. He'll be 36 that season. Frank Gore has proven that 34 doesn't mean that you have to retire from running back of the NFL. You can keep plowing through. And so that's what Adrian Peterson's gonna Diogo And so let's see the off season. What veterans want to latch on to the bucket ears? It's gonna be the new over the Hill Gang. Let me chase championships with Tom Brady in company. Speaking of here's Jason Light, the Bucks GM yesterday as the team celebrated its championship with a boat parade.

You and Frank Jr does that enter into your mind? I know I could. I'd be real myself home. I know how to lead it, and that's a tough sport man and No, but I am happy that you know the public. And in the case of a few of you, one of the most understood or misunderstood players ever. Frank Gore, Frank Gore, 10 20 Frank Gore. He have 16,000 yards rushing Number three on the all time list for watching CBS Sports Network. There is a graphic looking good. Frank Gore coming up in 1 20. Eastern can't wait to run him down something else that we do leading up to the Super Bowl almost every single year. We talked with Carson Palmer, a perfect guest at today because we're talking about two of the best quarterbacks ever in the matchup on Sunday. Carson Palmer will break that down what he sees with Tom Brady. How Tom Brady fits in that offense and Brady along with Bruce Arians. Ah, got to Carson Palmer play for Coming up at the top of our number three. We're talking America's team. We're talking Browns Football David and Joe coup. I also love that book. Because when you look the quarterback's like it's all about the quarterbacks for this game, right. Do not sleep on the tight ends. Travis Kelsey, Best tight end in the NFL right now, Gronk arguably the best tight end ever. Cameron break of the Bucks. So I'm gonna get a tight end starts on the tight ends. And in Cleveland, there's always that question about a joke. Who does he feel about his situation because he's planning a position that is really deep, really deep with Cleveland. Then at 11 20. Big head bets. James Kelly's been working this thing for two weeks now, and I know for a fact that he's been going back and forth. I had him late last night. Which, where you going? Which way you leaning? He's like, Do I have to tell you right now? And I said no big head. You don't have to tell me right now. It would be nice before you came on the air to let me know. He is a bad man on that football field. I'll be real interested to see you know how much longer he can continue. His work and then early on in the show. We had. Sorry, Bradshaw. He came through and joined us. We had a conversation about coaching. We took a look at Bruce Arians. We took a look at Andy Reid. And yes, the game might come down a coaching. Yeah, he faked out Ted on that one. And the guy that he faked out more than any of that night was Eric Walden outside linebacker. The Green Bay Packers. Every is soon after that became a member of the Colts because they got rid of them. Tap capers had it figured out. He could not figure out the zone read. He's gonna pull that. So don't slay it down or have a spell linebacker there So he went for 1 81. Frank Gore went for one night, right? Yeah, that night they ran for 323. Yards. "We turned over night on CBS sports radio. There's a play at the end of the Colts and Bills game that honestly it's atrocious, like the way that play got officiated. It's just absolutely insane to me and completely defeated the purpose of instant replay, and we're gonna talk about that Just a minute. By the way, we're coming alive for the rocket mortgage studios when you need certainty in the home buying process with a loan that fits your life. Rocket can so we're gonna get to that in just a moment. But again, Philip Rivers, he might be done. We'll see whether or not he comes back. Is your Hall of Famer. To me? He's not. I think it's pretty clear. He's a very good player. He's not one of the best to ever play at its There's no shame in it. There's no shame in not being a Hall of Famer, if we're gonna get every guy that has a long career and puts up numbers and put them in the Hall of Fame. We're robbing a lot of other deserving players that other spots. I mean guys like how many safeties air in the Hall of Fame? Think about that there's not many There's not Those guys very valuable. Look at how the game changed and we're starting to see those guys now. Ed Reed, Troy Polamalu, Brian Dawkins, like different safeties are starting to get into these versatile, talented guys. So many great shutdown corners over the years. Offensive linemen, defensive lineman linebackers tight ends like there's a lot of great players. And to just give it the quarterback's all the time because we know who they are, and they put up the numbers. I just don't think it's the right thing to do. So 855212. 4 to 27. Let's go to let's go to Tom itself Been Tom? What's up? Hey, How you doing? Thanks. Taking Michael? Yeah. Thanks for calling. Yeah, I agree. I loved him Upriver. She's a phone player to watch. Fantastic. But when you when you phrased question, like if you were telling a story, the NFL would it matter, And I would say Yeah, I just not know. So I would agree with you on that. I just have two players that I was wondering what your thoughts are. Okay. I think Eli Manning. Like You know, he said he had plenty of years where he's just like and that, you know, um, but then beating Brady in those Super Bowls, I think would be a really fun thing to add. If you were telling somebody who had no idea what the NFL was Story. I think that'd be fun to see the head so that I guess I'd put him in there. Yeah, And and that's the thing. I totally get the argument on Eli Manning and what he did especially the 17 and no team to get the undefeated Patriots team or 16 Note to beat that team and having the big plays that he did and clutch moments like he he had really great. Isolated plays and the playoff runs. And so I get it with Eli. I'm not thrilled about it, but I get it and you really can't tell the story without him. I agree. And what you think about Frank Gore this place for you know, like a billion years. Yeah, and and Frank or I'm so glad that you brought that up because for Frank or He had a good stretch where he was a top five running back and football. I mean that guy consistently because he could run he could catch. He was adorable. Like all those things together. He was a really great player in those early years with San Francisco and so for him to have a peek, and that's the thing you want to die. It's not longevity, necessarily in itself. It's not health in itself. It's the idea of what is your peak. What are you at the best of your career? How great are you compared to everybody else? And he was up there in the conversation with guys like Adrian Peterson and LaDainian Tomlinson and Brian Westbrook had a good run at that point for a brief bit Like so he was with those guys. And that's a hall of Famer because he has the longevity and the numbers and he was great at his peak. Really one of the best in his position, I'd I'd be far more okay with Frank or Amen. I agree. Thanks, man. Yeah, Tom Appreciate him in And did I just get in? I love you There. There we go. I love it. There we go. We got some love so a 55 to 1 to 42 7, by the way, Speaking of love. Send us a male. Let's let's see what happens in the mail. We set up a mailbox last week and I don't know what's going to come in. No clue, But whatever comes in you, you wanna write a letter? You want to send a picture? I don't care You could send in a picture. Basically, anybody else sign it. What's my autograph worth? Why not? Um The Vince Quinn show is where you will address it to the Vince Quinn show. And that's going to be 3 45 Hudson Street 10th floor. New York, New York 10014. I have no idea what's going to happen. But it is your mailbox. Whatever comes in, we'll figure it out. We'll talk about it here. I just wanna, you know, give you guys a different way to be a part of this because obviously freaking mouth shut Wolf. It's gonna be a boring show. If I don't know why I'm in this job. It's It's not even like it's a visual medium, so I could do interpretive dance for four hours, But nobody can see it. What's the point? I don't know if I can keep my mouth shut. In fact, they want me to talk. Which is nice. Which is nice. I got yelled at a lot for talking over the years. Um you know all the teachers young advance Stop talking in class. I was like, whatever, like the number of teachers, you know, I didn't think I'd go to this angle. But now that we're here, the number of teachers over the years they told me I just wasn't gonna do anything with myself. Yeah. What's up? What's up? We're doing all right. So anyway, story now that I've got the story from hate out of my system. Let's get to some more hate. Actually, I've got a lot of hate me today. Let's let's go to the Colts and Bill's playoff game because this was this was insane. Okay, Here's we're talking about. It's the end of the game, right? And The Colts are trying to get down the field. And passed the bills. They won't take the lead in the game. As they're going down the field. Wide receiver for the Colts catches the ball..

"And the Jets won't have the clones favorite player, Frank Gore. Not that that matters. I just wanted to really mentioned Frank Gore out there because I know they love me so much, But Cam, it probably will be his last start. Maybe Ever as a full time starter. He's only thrown one touchdown December, but the Jets are still the Jets. They have the worst offense in the league, and they even dial it down on the road to a 12.4 points a game average. It's the worst traveling offense since Dennis Allen was in charge of the Raiders back in the day. I mean, the Pats are bad, but three points better in the Jets. I think they are minus three pats at home. I'll give you another nugget to exemplify just how challenging it's been for camp. He has the chance to be the first effective full time starter to have more rushing touchdowns, passing touchdowns over the course of an entire season. James as we wrap it up any thoughts about college football today with the national semifinals? Are you staying away from both of because they have big numbers? Well, the Notre Dame Alabama Wanna Right now. I'm leaning to Tate Lenient. Take that plus 20 and Notre Dame, but I haven't hit it, so I'm staying away from that I did hit Ohio State. It opened up 8.5. It's down to 7.5. So I hit that 8.5. I mean, it's gonna come down to Justin filled. It's kind of funny, Brian. I mean, in the next three days, we're gonna know a lot about the Jets win the Justin filled Sam Darnel dynamic, because I mean, if he doesn't show up tonight, that could you know down the road? Impact that second overall pick. So if he can't turn the ball over and they could run the ball because they did run the ball against Clemson last year, I think they could cover that that spread, so I'm taking Ohio.

The Curious Case of Frank Gore

"Tim kunin you recently. Wrote a profile of frank gore for espn dot com. So what inspired you to take him on as a topic at this particular moment. It's interesting follow. Because i've watched his career forever. I i'm in the bay area. So i followed him when he was with the forty niners and he's always struck me as someone who's sort of exists outside of our current time. Espn's tim. Qa has been writing about the nfl for three decades. Like he's this guy. That's the third leading rusher all time and yet he doesn't really seem to be appreciated or highlight that you can point to. He's just sort of this guy that has just existed forever in our consciousness and right and the fact that he's he's on the jets. He's he's i mean he's their lead back still. It just became this thing like how. How remarkable it is for someone. His age thirty seven years old From the two thousand five draft class as a running back is still not only in the league but productive and you spoke to him on the phone for a long time for this story and as you say despite him being this guy with a resume that might be worthy of consideration hall of fame consideration. He is fairly anonymous. So tell us what he's actually like. As a person he is amana few words and he is We did have a very long conversation. And you know he's he just is a football guy. I know that sounds like a cliche but everyone you talk to about. Frank says that he's this vont. He's one of those people that that can do these things but isn't particularly good at explaining them. And i think it's partly because what he does is just as is a product of of work and study and just feel and it's another reason why why he's one of a kind. I'm not talking. I'm really not a talker. I know i've been blessed with the bullied. Play football at a high level. I'm glad there every day you know. Give it up all on field in the game. And we'll give my teammates mall to i take advantage of it and why i take advantage of occurs got got taken away from you at college so i know that knows this game not promise nobody as we say in that press conference clipped him. His injuries in college an enormous part of his story early on had come to the university of miami out of nearby coral gables high school as a freshman. He was a backup on that iconic team. That won the two thousand and one national title scoring five touchdowns that year and really impressing people as this up and comer tell us what played out over the next few seasons. You talk about remarkable. I mean he had to l. tears at the university of miami and was on those uteem's with guys like mcgahey in clinton portis in one star after another in the backfield and he pushed himself to overcome these injuries and to compete with those guys obviously for running back. Acl tear is among the worst. And have it have twice in college. You know it would seem to be insurmountable. It cost him some speed as a freshman. He was kind of a revelation as a speed back down. You know what we think of him now isn't necessarily that. It's it's the tough yards and it's the inside yards. So i think he had to adapt a little bit to what he could do when he lost a step or to get the poor right gore riding out what again the man out of coral gables brings the big to the miami hurricane he just wilt himself to become a third round draft. Pick of the forty niners in two thousand five. Only a handful of guys from that drafter still playing in most of them are quarterbacks and kickers.

Multiple NFL teams removed Tua Tagovailoa from their draft board

"The hatred for to a total of a lower is at an all time high after the past couple of weeks of where do you draft two of his hip his hip his hip his tip is the big concern I wouldn't track to be sliding down draft boards he could go was as high as third or as low as twenty third which trust me that is not happening all the hate culminated tonight in at culminating in the all the hate coming tonight with a report of two was Wunderlich which she took it came back with a score of thirteen and now I can't get over and it's haters because I just have to say haters because of the way things have been going and I'll get into why but it's haters who are just continually jumping up and down on to and how all yeah I don't know if I could read about it if I can draft all right first of all let's deal with the hip he's got a clean bill of health right now okay he's healthy he is healthy could you get it in four years could something happen with his hip yeah put in four years a guy you draft instead of him could be out of the league right there's a risk in every single player you take in the NFL draft there's very few perfect prospects will the last perfect prospects pose it was Andrew luck I think was the last guy that got the highest grade that Kashmir was was Andrew luck and before that I think it was Peyton manning I did with over the last couple of guys to get perfect grades coming out of college there's no such thing as a perfect prospect all right the thing is the thing what people fail to realize with two a is that when you can talk about someone that's had injuries it's tangible it's black and white so it's easy to say well I would worry about him because you know we could wind up having an injured hip in a couple yeah you could you know other guys could wind up getting hurt too but because it's an injury it's something tangible that I don't know the hip could given problems you know it's not tangible the fact that the quarterback might not be able to make his second weakness progression mark Sanchez may not be able to do that and that's going to find a guy out of the league faster than a guy who's good with a hip injury there are so many risks for quarterbacks but we we focus on the physical because that's what we can understand what all the evaluators you see we have a filter they're looking at if they're picking everything apart why is this guy going to be able to travel to the next level because he's able to go through his progressions quickly or he's able to put the football in a place where only his teammate is going to get to it look Joe burrow it made a meal out of that this season only putting the football where his player was going to go get on LSU there's so many things going with there's so many risks for every player there's just as much risk for Justin Herbert because the guy could be a bust all right I want to play some games last year your chase a locker for on with us earlier this week he said there's a couple of games he looked like a high school kid playing quarterback he looks so bad last year everything to what has done on the field physically has shown you he is the tag for to a guy he is the most talented quarterback in the NFL draft and how I know what's haters when it comes to everything now you have the Wonderlic score out here of thirteen thirteen is not the worst for the world there's been guys with scores in the single digits and you know what some of them it has to stop Frank gore I think got a seven on the Wonderlic and he's going to the hall of fame so it's not like you just because you could have low score thirteen I think he took it before I got a nineteen on it when he was at Alabama together thirteen now his score is absolutely fine but all this jumping up and down on to a is all haters and it's all pushing is his value down and it's not fair because what's not being talked about by the same people that are like a draft to again as a present what about all the other things he brings to the table what about all the reasons why you would take of that height with considering what he can do physically what kind of arm he has what kind of accuracy has how strong his arm is how you can get outside the pocket all right his attitude that so far has been the best part of it no one's talking about because he's taking all of this eight and he is not imploded he's not explode is not blamed anybody he he is just trying to let people know I'm healthy right so this is a kid who's healthy could be hurt later on yeah but like I said the the risks for other players are out there too as long as he's healthy now he is the most talented quarterback in the draft there's no reason why I wouldn't take him I I I said months ago I would take him number one overall other people came to the party late on that congratulations it's good for us so I would take him number one I told you as always gets a clean bill of health I take a number one because he's that good the people are forgetting he was that good and if I'm a team in in the draft and I need a quarterback I am happy as hell with this is going on right now because this means the price to move up for him is going to be less and less because the lines are open for business at three and the giants are open for business at four and if teams are going to get scared away and there will be teams scared away of two a because of his health because what whatever reason because now is the time when teams talk themselves into things they don't need to talk themselves into the competition to move up to get him is going to be a lot less so a lot of teams that need quarterbacks you're not hearing from they are happy as hell right now still to this around that yeah yet continue to hate to us so we can go up and get in and get a franchise quarterback and be and be set for the next

Frank Gore passes Barry Sanders, hits No. 3 spot on NFL's all-time rushing list

"I'd like to talk about a player on the bills. Offense the man they call the inconvenient truth Mr Franklin Gore now I understand that people who watch the NFL are generally loyal to teams and not players and that everyone has different allegiances. But the fact of the matter is if you don't root for Frank Gore at this point you're just wrong I'm sorry but those are the rules. Gore has been in in this league for fifteen years and on Sunday he passed Barry Sanders to move up to third on the all time rushing list another gift decor by drew over the left side. He gets closer. The first down is down at the forty one yard line. That's a gain of seven and that is enough record is now the third all time leading rusher in NFL history. How about that? You saw it here today folks along with Emmett Smith. He's one of just two running backs to start in over two hundred games with remarkable. Not only because he's thirty six years old when he began colleges quarterback Josh Allen was five but because he's conquered so much for those who are unfamiliar with his life. The story. Here are the broad strokes core grew up in poverty and his mother suffered from addiction. He overcame severe learning disability to get to college and once he got out there he tore his ACL twice and yet fifteen thousand two hundred eighty nine yards later. He still here about a year your ago. I was asked to participate in an NFL insiders panel where we argued why various player should get into the hall of fame. I made the case for Gore. Are The reason why he isn't a shoo-in is that despite his longevity he's never really achieve dominance at his position which I understand but even if he was was never the best he has always been great historic matters deeply to the league into everyone. WHO's been fortunate enough to watch him play? So here's hoping he makes it to sixteen thousand yards.

Quick-hit thoughts on the Patriots' win over the Bills

"Patriots sixteen to ten win over the bills in Orchard Park. The bills made this a game after a very slow start but there would be no magic when Barkley Barkley replaced an injured Josh Allen Greg who bravely locked up the Patriots in this kind of didn't see a lot of offense on display in Buffalo. No you asked you know going into this game. The bills make a statement or did the Patriots do Patriot. I guess it's both because the bills made a statement they made Tom Brady look worse than any has in in a long time. This was his lowest passer rating since two thousand six in a game. It's the most passes he's ever thrown in a game without getting to two hundred yards didn't even get close closely at one fifty. He was under fifty percent completion. They had seven drives where they went three and out they had only a couple apple more where where they got one first down they did nothing offensively and late in the game they were inside the five yard line with a chance to go up to scores and and they smartly kicked a field goal and I thought that was bill belichick saying this bills defense is is too good for us. We need to just go up six points. That's the kind of defense buffalo played but they get a special teams touchdown they knockout Josh Allen in the fourth quarter and they do a lot of things defensively on their own to get the Stop ATM in my tracks the decision fourth and goal to go for it because it feels like a patriots thing that they would go for it and since the moment but you're right they had that much faith the defense which they should be doing defense is incredible and the bills just weren't moving the ball. I mean you locked up New England but if someone had told me that you would have held Tom Brady eighty two three point eight yards per attend sub Gabbard so if you would have given up only sixteen points to this offense and if Frank Gore would have run for one hundred and nine yards at six point four yards spur Kerry I would have plucked up the bills. I would've thought they're going to find a way to they're not an explosive offense but find a way to get seventeen points. I mean the difference was the punt return touchdown. The Patriots scored the Patriots offense only scored ten bills offense scored ten and the Patriots Defense was very lucky to hold the bills to only ten because the bills did do a better job especially in the second half moving up and down the field but the situational defense that the Patriots have especially in the red zone with Jamie Collins and Kyle Van Noy and everything that they can do was really special today. You're tipping your tap. Your tipping your cap to a good bills defense and a well coached team. But how much of this does it raise any red flags for are you on the Patriots offense. It's a long season. I said going into this game. I didn't think their offense was nearly up to speed their offensive line. got pushed around. I think this the bills defense had a great plan for them. I mean yeah they have to be. They're going to be a different team in December one way or another whether they're better or worse. They're going to be totally different the fact that they we're able to sneak out a win was

Frank Gore Won't Return vs. Vikings with Foot Injury, Reportedly Has Sprain

"Next thing, you know, it's fourth and thirty for Indianapolis. It's fun to sort of observe all the games taking place at one time. I Lamar Jackson throw to somebody attempt to throw titan Mark Andrews, hit a defender in the back hawk the mar a thrower is still a work in progress. Yes, worker progress is putting it lightly. I mean, he just has to, you know, a lot of time with quarterbacks no matter how good or or, you know, whatever the scouting report says about you. We can't see you at your best until you're comfortable. And when I watch him throw the football when I watch him try to dissect defenses. I don't see a guy who feels comfortable yet. Which is why I think you've. Verse two running a lot because that's the thing that makes them feel the most confident so he asked to become comfortable as a passer, and then we can kind of make the determination of whether or not he has the ability of the thrower right on cue. I see him rush for about eight yards for the Baltimore Ravens him or Josh Allen. Who's been the more impressive runner to you. Because Allen's doing it on non design runs. Lamar. The design stuff. Yeah. I mean, I think they're both impressive. I think Josh Allen is just the one that surprises me more. I didn't expect him to be able to Russia the level. He is because he didn't Lamar Jackson had incredible Russian production. Yeah. We knew it. But not nearly what Lamar Jackson exactly we've got an update here. Coming up. We have an update from the Bengals do we have this. We have the update yet. I'll take it myself Joe mixing the Cincinnati bangles on fourth down plunges into the end zone. Hawk fourteen. But it's gonna take a lot of work. I guess like are they playing are. They playing to save Marvin job right now is that is that your interpretation of what's left in this season. It's a very good question. I'll have to take the break to to figure out. Okay. Good enough wants to talk about that later on throughout the show. We continue to see if they can lay it on the Oakland, Raiders, the raiders who've been frisky recently, not so frisky today. The Bengals are like you don't come to our house tried to play our game and win. Instead, you might lose her down fourteen to nothing.
