"I know you wondered if there was any. I wondered if there was any until you have how the date went. Oh i should find out okay. Well i'll i'll texture ask maybe by the end of the show. We'll get a little bit of an update on that and if they went on a second date and this show paid for it. Yeah okay. Did i tell to have. I talked about when. I went on the or audition for the dating game when i was eighteen. No have not and here. We go story commencing now. Okay so my my good. My my really good friend at the time frank martinez the guy who cut my hair i. He said we should go on the dating game. We would watch the dating game at his apartment and he was like we gotta go and we can win a trip to to wherever they would give trips to hawaii. Usually actually a year after this story takes place. I started dating a girl who who went on the dating game as the person who picked and went to hawaii and never spoke to her date ever on the trip. He just hung out with the chaperone on the date with the date to hawaii. Seems like a tall order. The exact but they send a chaperone so that. You're not stuck with some weirdo. Who assaults you. And so she just the whole thing and she just but it was a woman. She hung out with the chaperone. The so that was a love chaperones. Yes so that's my chink. So franken i were like air chaperones cooks now. This is a great philosophical. Question are all chaperones cox by their very nature. Even if you're a shepherd at a school dance you're just watching people grind. That's right and the chapparal traditionally somebody who wants to be with the person or people or chaperoning. I don't i mean if i were chaperone. I don't see nothing wrong with the little bump and grind personally. But hey chapel housed bob grind. You're going to be selected as a chaperone anytime soon with ra. Hey i'm scott. I don't know what he wanted to school. But i do any with a little bumping brian to apply to chaperone all over the school system. So frank frank was really adamant. And i was kinda like frank friend frank barber. He was really adamant which. And frank. By the way i should mention. Frank is in It was and probably is a really good looking guy like like all the all the women we hung out with constantly life probably still is. Yep taylor sure so. He had the confidence of someone who is going to go on dating game and do well and i was like you know he wanted me to come along for moral support or whatever or he genuinely thought i might do well but i feel like i sabotage my chances because i dressed like morrissey essentially or a cardigan and these big late eighties giant working girl glasses headlights working girl glasses. Which basically raphael glasses. Yeah exactly so but not not like read the word off so we go there and they they put us in a room with like twenty five guys and they have a woman behind a partition. Who's asking us questions. And we do it. Three at a time. And so i'm like third. I think i'm bachelor number three. So this is this is practice. And it's like the addition like this behind the thing it's like it's like some some guy who's actually going to like. What would you say right. So we she asks bachelor number one she goes. If you have any ki- what would the key be that you could have any goes the key to your heart. You know in that skill in way and she goes. My heart doesn't have key basler number one and he implodes goes i well i i would i would. Then i would lock your heart up and i would tie you up with chains..

"Well, well, another Republican in Hollywood, who came via the Democratic Party like Ronald Reagan was Frank Sinatra. Um, you know, Sinatra was one of the most popular and influential artists I think of the last century. Um people should know that he was a first generation American. His parents were born in Italy. And he loved the fact that this country offered him the opportunity to express his skills. Um, is funny. His mother was influential in Democratic Party politics in Hoboken, New Jersey. And he actually sang at the 1956 Democrat National Convention. That's the one that nominated Adlai Stevenson to face and lose to Dwight D. Eisenhower. Um, Sinatra wanted help the little guy and I think that's what they thought that the Democratic Party was at the time. And if you remember is beautiful song high hopes when I was a little kid, I loved high hopes and a 45 of high hopes that became the campaign theme for John Kennedy in 1960. And Sinatra performed it at Kennedy's inaugural 1961. But like Reagan, Sinatra didn't cotton to the leftward drift of the Democratic Party, and he particularly didn't like Bobby Kennedy. Now, you know, Kennedy was known as attorney general for prosecuting a number of Frank's friends for ties to organized crime. Sinatra had no such criminal history. But it did cost him his gaming license to the Cal Niva Hotel in North Lake Tahoe. And I think he never forgave him. I saw Sinatra live twice the South Shore room. It's here is Tahoe where he performed this next song that we're going to be Playing that comes from his Madison Square Garden main event. It's a song that's about patriotic. It's a song about diversity before diversity was popular. It's a song about the little guy. Frank went on to be the music director of Reagan's 1981 and 1985 inaugurations. Both Bill Saraceno and I were there to see those performances. Here's a snip from the beautiful song. The house I live in. The Howdy under the handshake, the air feeling free Am the right To speak your mind now. That's America, uh, to me. I just think that's a beautiful song and Frank included it many of his performances. Well, we've got a little bit less than three minutes left in the segment. This is Jim Lacey with Don Romano. We're live in tax if Oranje and let me turn it over to done to end out the segment Yes, Jim, A beautiful song there. We could have You know, played any of many segments there. Uh, I, uh I I think music is one area where we see a lot of, uh, collaboration across Different ethnicities in this country, as I was referring to earlier with the Thelma Houston, Laura Nero, Jimmy Webb combine, But, you know, I also think that It's interesting. I think music can unify as to, um I'd like to ask a question to everybody. I'm thinking of two people that everybody likes. Maybe I'm wrong. First ray charts Is anybody here? Not or Ray? Charles? Yes. Great. We've got two minutes second. Johnny Catch? Yes. Sensational, So I think we have unanimity. There's others, too, but those are the ones that they come to mind. Uh, so we have the we're going out with a song that's actually written by a friend of mine who's great performer here in the San Francisco Bay area..

"Week long with the players of making sure that this book list five let the past stuff okay twelve during this week let us you know I have an opportunity to know what it feels like you know to play at home to win a game in front of the fans and to play not for cultures or family or anything else to play for each other in that room this is after hours with Amy Lawrence Doug Marrone says of course I care about my job of course I care about whether or not I am retained as the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars his team ends on a high note Frank friend you with the call on the Jaguars radio network I don't know if that was enough to save his job but I do know it's been nobody the way the rumor mill has swirled around Jack that Jacksonville and its head coach and Doug world specifically there have been conflicting reports now for weeks about whether or not he was being kept on the job whether or not he'd already been fire weather nadie already heard that even fired someone actually asked him that on Sunday what about this report that said you've already been fired any any bristled at that which I can understand who wouldn't but ultimately unless he is a really good actor we're talking about Oscar worthy actor he says he doesn't know any hasn't been told one way or another same with Jason Garrett he is optimistic as always Jerry Jones is disappointed as he has been I'm sure Garrett is as concerned as Marone but we don't have any news officially to offer just a lot of speculation just a lot of rumors Freddie kitchens of course he's gone the plane was still warm probably still getting cleaned up after returning to Cleveland from Cincinnati in a season ending loss and kitchens was already informed by the Haslem's and GM John Dorsey that he was out of work for now it's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio Baker Mayfield finishes the season with twenty two touchdowns twenty one interceptions little more than thirty eight hundred yards passing his completion percentage hovered around sixty percent was not a great year for him not a good soft more campaign and as much as people want to point to Freddie kitchens I get it the team was undisciplined unprepared very often just the entire attitude and feel around the team wait to Lucy goosey way to almost out of control little bit too much and that living on the edge this is not a team that's got an established winning culture you can't play fast and loose with games that are supposed to help you build a foundation help you build confidence I don't care what the preseason expectations were inflated or no that team and all of them bear responsibility accountability that team school wondered a chance to if not make the playoffs at least bill if only a year so even with the basement is solid build the base would build a foundation a future winning teams you don't wear brown and orange you don't matter yeah I mean that goes back to Freddie kitchens introductory press conference and I did at the time I was surprised they didn't hire Greg Williams or at least give Greg Williams an interview because he was the interim head coach at the end of last season when they Thursday nearly had a five hundred year challenge for at least while and people tell me no not Greg Williams it's pretty kitchen he's the one who deserves credit he's the one the work with Baker Mayfield he's the one that guided their rookie QB to seven all up an old time rookie touchdown mark he gets the credit he was calling the plays but he never been a head coach on any level he scored Nader he had a lot of fun freezes that country's kind of country strong attitude defiance bigger may feel body into a lot of the team did to but the defiant attitude got them in trouble you got to build a foundation first hello check the two and do you have something to be proud of about learn how to win learn how to be professionals none of that happened this year and I did you this before over and over all say it again it was only about wins and losses with kitchens I think the team will be doing a disservice by making a change again but it wasn't just about wins and losses it was about miles Garrett was about Antonio Callaway it's about reports of players on the field telling their opponents come get me come get me regardless of the denials out that was another distraction it was about the Pittsburgh started it T. shirt and I don't mean that that the fire Wrobel offense to that that's the attitude thank you first before you start it's your business all over the country they just they they lived like they were already champions they played in walked and talked but they're already chapped and they learn that yet and clearly are ready for that yet and so all the personnel issues the the fact that they did not respect their head coach to me that is something you can't get back and it's not fair course life's not fair but this is how quickly things can change in pro sports in the NFL and of course in real life but here's what I say here's what I.

"Because the baby at the park said, no, you're not going truck. So white van with an ice cream sticker on it. And then after I changed baby. I look he's already a football field down already going over there with the girl. Wasn't scared me. It means had rather listen to the girl than me. And I took them home and give him his first banking any laugh, so but van I take away their cell phone. Oh my gosh. Oh. Oh my gosh. You waiting. I have fairly control over the kids. But you know. Most societies don't I we've got a lot of issues in in schools. So the UK government. Has an idea. They're going to recruit the cool kids in school. To become the anti-drug influencers. Classmates will vote and those in the top seventeen point five percent of popularity is gonna be invited for this government pilot study, and it's funded by the HFS and it's going to run across forty eight schools. Parts of England and Wales. Why because there's quote limited evidence that drug prevention interventions are of factors. So the most popular kids at school are now going to be recruited. To convince the others to do something. Now, I see a movie I see I see how this could. Unfortunately, you know, go bad if somebody evil is forcing the kids to recruit, but let's say their soul democracy. Would that work? So teenagers have been voted by their peers as most trendy will be trained in how to discourage classmates from taking drugs and the scheme is known as Frank friends funded by the NHS National Institute for health research to run across forty eight schools start September, and it's going to be overseen by Cardiff university. Researchers Dr James white senior lecturer public health Cardiff university said there is limited Evans, the drug prevention interventions are effective schools. Provide a systematic and official way of reaching a large number of people every year. The randomized controlled trial is the best way to determine if the Frank friends intervention prevents drug use among people. I think in concept. It's brilliant. I think it's brilliant. And because I remember I went to twelve schools four high schools, and I remember there were a couple cool guts. And I just thought the world of they were gorgeous. They were athletic. They were really really cool. And somebody had asked them to do some sort of. Hey that was procreate and he's like, please. Please that stupid no mega setting night. Okay. That's cool. The cool guy is going to study. And I immediately felt as a teenager. That it's okay to say, no, the cool guy did it. So can because kids do they do mimicry. Remember, I told, you know, sometimes kids good to daycare because they need to see other kids need to mimic. They need to figure out. What work don't? And so teachers are watching each other all the time. And they see what works for some and the nature I do implemented to their behavior. So your kids behavior isn't always a complete copycats. But it's a mesh of the things that they see work now. Unfortunately, you see there's a lot of room for influencing. Lot of room for government. Injecting their beliefs. We gotta be really careful with that. But if I saw a cool kid. Get handed Dube or joint and not a man, I'm not going to my lungs and away. I'm going to say the same thing as a kid. Some kids. We go ahead if he doesn't want it all tickets. You know, you have some of those independent thinkers a lot of the lot of the non thinners the ones vulnerable to drugs. And seeing a cool kid do drugs and make it look cool to say, no. Is a fantastic idea is a realistic pots addictive people like their hit what their nicotine what their vaping? I I don't know how this will work. They say five hundred eighty thousand secondary school students are high school students in England took drugs at least once last year. So eighteen percent of their high schoolers have tried drugs cannabis, of course, is the most common so to help combat this. They're going to have fifty six hundred thirteenth four roles vote for their info the most influential classmate and those of the top seventy five percent will be asked to have two days of training on how to disgorge drug-taking. They will then be encouraged to discuss the harms of illicit substances with their classmates over the next ten weeks half the schools in the program will controls will not take part in the scheme. The effectiveness of this project at stopping adolescent drug useful than compared against the school's not being involved. It's going to go for three years. This will be one of the largest, you know, school based drug prevention programs. And. It may work. You know, we do it. Don't suicide just kids. We'll look at an adult at work. We'll see why the boss likes them. And they're like oh. You know, maybe maybe I should do that. Maybe I should dress like him. You don't have many of us have changed our dress. Because we saw it worked a certain way for others. We mimicry all the time. And you know, one of what being adaptable is five in Evelyn were trained to adapt. You going have to adapt your language, you're going to have to adapt for those people that just never changed and you're still living in nineteen fifty five. That's problem. But if you wanna know what I'm gonna shave my upper lip. You know? Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna do. The flip start. I'm gonna wear boots to work. I were to work. I would've never thought that was business casual or visit tire. And I was one of the first people start right boots to work, then low behold other people's are wearing boots. I I like votes, then you you wanna why we're boots look sexy. It's my feet can't handle the pumps anymore. I can't wear pumps. After an hour and a half feet ache. Yet, I found boots to be really comfortable. And if I end up let's say at the end of the day getting Kinkel's, nobody could see. So my feet look good. I feel good, and I don't have to have a skinny hill and they're wide. They're wide towed. So I don't have to bunions. So I I mean, even if boots go out of style, I'm going to keep trying to bring back I'm bringing six vac, the I'm going to be definitely bring a boots back because I from the I think it's a healthier shoe if you were tennis shoes crocs things like that. So I I don't know what we'll see if it works. God speed. I think the drug problem with kids, you know, like marijuana has been linked to variety of things it could triple the risk of schizophrenia. Class depression, people have been getting panic attacks. They even found a study that showed an increased risk of bipolar and Hypo mania the problem with that is is the kids BI polar to begin with them. That's why they use the marijuana. So it's kinda tough. But you know, there's marijuana's huge. And now that it's legalized how do we get kids off of it? How do we get them to not.

"Let's go to Linda, Linda, how are you? And thank you for being so patient. I'm good. Thank you. How are you? Good. Thank you. I have a question. My son. Had Epstein Barr and waited no he had obscene bar. He was going to some other issues. Apparently he had. I think it was a virus and his intestines. So they gave him around if any -biotics twice to treat it, and I guess that kind of does not go well without steam bar, and he's been pretty bad ever since he's seen any attrition. And he sees a acupuncturists and acupuncture hits on it sometime because his body is he feels like he has a flu he's very sick. And then the next day, he's feeling better. But they still can't pinpoint a said he has a virus in his body. They can't pinpoint what it is. Or where it is. So I just want to know what kind of blood tests. Do they need to run to find this virus? Or if it's a blood test. That's gonna show it. Ali you want to start with this. Well, I think I. Viruses, are not that very insidious. Were they are to what degree to what low? That's the kind of a little hard to find them. But the antibody of all the three antibodies run on the virus. I I agree. All three will tell us was he exposed it. Is it active? Now was it in the past. But a gerbil loose pecan a. CBC? They white blessed south and all this Frank friends by your practitioner by your docked by his doctor should be able to pinpoint it. And don't forget about the hidden. Schorr says of this virus has bell. And I did matron district their first caller that they're wider says really they do not infect the host your son would've wireless with a fungus. They always reinfect you in a bacterial form. So your doctor have to distinguish that every time he has something s not necessarily the bacterial infection. So can their specific tests that can be run to identify this CBC in general. Okay. But then again antibodies on day the Epson bar, okay? How how old is the son, Linda? He he's actually in his thirties and his his muscles are very weak, and they hurt and he said he he doesn't feel like they're firing energy really fast. And they gave Annabel see antibiotics said they thought it was a virus. But they gave to antibiotics and about extent do anything against the virus. No sounds like she she and her son need to take this a step further. And what I'd like you to do if you would is after the.

"I know exactly how much all that shit ways. When I saw the pick up the Dow to the face, I was like he whips around the Olympic bar into some dudes fucking nuts. Those forty five pounds there's thirty five pound bars too. And that's a problem. But generally a forty five pound bar now when he fucked that dude's face up with the little small twenty five pound plate. I that's what I started getting uncomfortable like physically uncomfortable. That's face was just completely changed. It was so fucking Vialli glory so violent this violent. I love the trailer the fight in the trailer was really good with Curtis and John pilgrim like just fighting in that enclosed tight space. They've been that. Well, honestly the joke yard fight between him and pilgrim. Oh, yeah. They're they're whipping chains at each other with the scuba tank facing. Yeah. Yeah. I was surprised pilgrim that strong. I was like how's this dude? Taking all this. And that's the thing is is the reason that they do the whole like because there's a point where you wonder like why are we doing this weird backstory with pilgrim where he visit the the Neo Nazis? Yeah. That's the whole point. Is it shows you that fight that he has with the Neo Nazis in the bar. That's where you go. Oh, he's Frank. Right. But then he goes he does some drugs getting. Quote scripture at the same time if the shows like the most sexually explicit. I've seen any of these shows. I think surprisingly only paling maybe in comparison to the first season of Jessica Jones. Yeah. But they. Yeah. It was I was at some points. Just like oh my God. How does he take all this? But yeah, it's the punisher. He does keeps fucking ticking. Like. He was on Jimmy Kimmel burnt all broke his hand. During filming the first fight seat on the first day of shooting. And so he really had a bra. And then even tell anyone for like. It was actually real. Yes. To go in for surgery because he didn't wanna tell anyone, and it was getting smashed around and got worse you had to have surgery. So he really had a fucking broken hand the whole the whole time. But he's bad as how bad is that girls? Fucking bad ass. I love the sheriff's office because I love the way birth. All Frank turns them to trusting him. I thought that was I thought what that I what really. I was. It's he doesn't even have to turn them. He just has to get the sheriff to believe him. Yes. Yeah. He knows they're gonna follow him and the whole time. You're like, dude, you better. Listen to him, you know batch. It's coming thing. But then literally the next episode agent Madani shows up to interrupt all this take to New York where they're hanging out in her apartment for like, four episodes. And it's and there's a lot of moments where you check in with characters who are literally waiting while other. Character is doing it. Franks friends who are just sitting around waiting for him. Hey, did you know cool army here? Weird. Fuck. Let's talk about some other characters. I loved Curtis. I thought it was great. I lo- Curtis. He was fine. A lot of Justice. This season agent Mahoney. I feel bad for his girlfriend. Oh, yeah. Right. Three stand. Why? After being in the defender's daredevil like why does it? He just assume punisher is doing some good shit because he seeing this kinda crazy vigilance problem with the avengers. Yeah. All that stuff. They're still giving cops the collar beat the dude up. He's tied up in the alley. Go arrest him, you even the system. Yeah. The punisher is bullet in them because I think you're incompetent judge jury and executioner. Yeah. A little too far for their absolutely punisher. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, that's that's his theme allow that hurt. Us was great. What was good? Yeah. I we think what Karen page one episode one little girl. Well, let's talk about Amy. Yes, sir pages such a small part that I don't even think he's worth discussing. Okay. Honestly. But talking about Amy was I did not like, Amy and all. I thought she was a little better. But I was like this girl's a little punk. I know that the punisher has to help her. But I did not like her. And I'll be honest. I know we all like to that first half of that..

"Well, a lot of people think it's going to come to Texas because Jeff Basil's has ties to Texas which I only recently learned he's he hasn't with George strait. Will bring this up any chance. I have. It's really weird Armadillo aerospace. They do things out in west, Texas. Right. That's also basis initiative. I don't know about that. But I trust or mode. Alot Aeros wonder if I could get the last thing you bought an Amazon. How close I get because you by seventy it was really practical things batteries, right? No. No. Let's yes. We take again. I'm looking at Armadillo, aerospace, all guess the last thing Gus would have bought no show socks. No show socks. I need to buy socks. I reminded me. I needed by Saad jet, blue origin, Armadillo, I'm gonna guess some type of household cleaner. Fifty five gallons of. Todd's the last thing that gusts are all about on Amazon is. A fish tank. Tips for the record. I never wear. No show socks. Show those babies so I really wish that they were a sponsor today. But the last thing about an Amazon was a it was a product from ring. Oh, was it. What ring? From ring sea tank on Amazon about lip balm and batteries. I think that's my latest. I feel like whenever I need batteries. I'm eat them immediately. So I never like four them from Amazon. Down to two timing war. I was going to damn it. Who's going to bring something on the pockets that I bought this weekend. I bought a Tamagotchi no way back. You say Tamagotchi Tamagotchi. Not Tom Gottschee. I'm I'm committed. speaking of language, puns Tamagotchi is one of my favorite ones. It's Japanese tamago egg and pummeled achie- is friend. Oh, egg, Frank friend. Yeah. I I saw I was at urban outfitters, and they were selling them there because they sell a lot of like old like it was it used to be trending outs trendy again type things. I spent twenty five dollars on. And I was playing with it. And I'm like cod this annoying. It's like what you have to do if you wanna like step away or go to sleep. You just like set the timer or or go to the timer setting page, and like have it paused, basically like you're resetting time. And then just leave it. That's the only way to posit you'd be a great parent. Yeah. How do I pause baby? I was playing I was playing with it with the Trevor, and we named it beak because it has a little beak after it gets older, but we would like step away for a few minutes than it would be like. And it's just like oh shut on the floor. I gotta clean this. Same thing, always hungry and always unhappy draft house with you. I showed my kids fellowship of the ring for the first time this weekend. What did I go they boarded love really they loved it. Because we we like watch this segment because I got so it was on sale on Amazon to get the Blu Ray extended vision trilogy, and I only had it on DVD. So I wanna Blu Ray. So I bought it again. And it's the extended version of the movie, and so we had to watch it in like stints, but they loved it. And they get a little like intensive points. But they were fine with it. It's a good movie. But I feel like it does. It's it's long is traveling movie. There's a part there's a I love how kids wreck differently stuff. There's a part when they're in the minds, and they're fighting the orcs in the room right before the cave troll comes in. And so they're all doing their stuff and at one point. Era and has a pretty good swipe at one of them and lops off his head and like blood's. Yes out. And I knew that was coming. And I was wondering how my kids would deal with that. And that was going to be a good gauge because I think fellowship actually is probably the most like nice of them to get darker and darker, some let's see how well they do. And I may I may or may not stop. And so I turned in watch them, and I have a five year old and eight year old, and I watched the eight year old was wrapped in a blanket. And when that happened she jumped and like hip hop over face, but he didn't want. I turn look at my five year old..

"As you might remember. Rosie, Watson is not Frank's mother, a summit thought, but instead the mother of Frank's friend, Jonathan Rosie's presence on blonde is used in a similar manner to channel orange. She represents adulthood and the mothering life lessons. We here in our youth on be yourself. Rosie discourages the use of drugs and alcohol. A common parental message we hear growing up, but the heart of her message as the track title suggests is authenticity. She discourages the use of drugs because it distances us from who we truly are. She says, quote, don't try to be someone else be yourself and no, that's good enough. Don't try to be someone else. Don't try to be like someone else. Don't try to act like someone else be yourself, be secure with yourself, reliant trust upon your own decisions on your own beliefs, unquote. While there's a comedic aspect to the voice mail, there's definitely utility in her advice as we've heard, and we'll continue to hear blonde is largely about youth and young. Hood, a transformative time in which we experiment try on different identities, an attempt to find and come to terms with who we are rosy understands the naievty in highly impressionable nature of adolescence and encourages us to be strong enough to withstand peer pressure to be strong enough to believe at ourselves. Even when our beliefs are at odds with our peers be yourself is the first of a handful of interludes that will feature this underlying principle of identity authenticity. It also introduces a reoccurring musical motif that will return in each interlude. The theme is drawn from a sample of a piece called running around by buddy Ross, but he Ross has been Frank's live keyboardist since two thousand twelve and contributes to a handful of tracks on both blonde and endless. Regarding this reoccurring keyboard theme Ross told pitchfork quote, there's one thing I did the first day I was in with him back in two thousand thirteen. That was so long ago, but then hearing the record when it came out. He uses that repeating theme through all the interludes in the closing out of the record. Like under be yourself Facebook story. I almost forgot. I gave it to him and ended up being a reoccurring theme, which is super cool. Just to hear it on the day, it came out being in their unquote. Let's hear a bit of running around the piece from which the keyboard riff was taken. A fragment of this piece is looped to create the backing music featured be yourself. Progresses into its next track solo. We notice that Frank uses Rosie's lectures in a similar way, both blonde and channel orange, not just money. Rosie speaks about the importance and value of money and on the next track, super rich kids, Frank sings of recklessly spending money on weed alcohol and women with.
