"Breaking news on the quarterback front. Derek Carr signing with the New Orleans saint on paper, it makes a ton of sense to their cars a really good quarterback in this league. You can win with Derek Carr. Carr lost in your corner. He walks in, touchdown. I don't want to waste any time. I want to win. Half of this from straight from the man himself will in a second as Michael Thomas teammate is very thankful for the new beginnings in New Orleans. Of course what he is referring to is Derek Carr, who you just saw on that opening stamp because he is headed to New Orleans say hello, welcome to NFL lot. A pretty busy studio here. Her redwood, two by left to coach and Daniel domain, our day in our lobster here on my right. We've got Lewis ready and Adam shepherd joining us as well, busy day here for chef. I feel Gates. Let's dive right into the news of the day out of New Orleans and chef Dee is gonna give us that in just a minute. Chef, what is the latest on what is taking place in New Orleans with Derek Carr. Field Derek Carr is going to sign a four year contract with the saints. He tweeted out who that nation and it's essentially a situation where New Orleans prioritized Derek Carr after the Raiders released him and allowed him to go visit. That was the one place that he spent a couple of days going to visit. He's played before with the saints head coach, Dennis Allen, who was part of the Oakland Raiders organization when they drafted Derek Carr out of college. Now, those two men will be reunited again. He had interest from the Carolina Panthers. He had interest from the jets, but clearly he wanted to go to New Orleans to play in an NFC south division right now that's lacking in quality starting quarterbacks that essentially is in a position where the saints can win that division and the saints had a good enough offer on the table. It's a four year deal, but it's really going to be about a two year $60 million contract. He can make more in the third year of the deal. The fourth year of the deal is back loaded. So really amounts to a two or three year deal for Derek Carr, but he goes to New Orleans and that is essentially the first big quarterback domino of the many to come here in the coming days with the new league year scheduled to begin a week from Wednesday at 4 p.m. eastern. Jeff de grey's stuff and as you can imagine the deal is palatable for their salary cap, although the saints never worry about finding space on the cat. During Derek Carr's tenure with the Raiders, how about this? The soap from black's defense allowed 26.1 points per game. That's the most for any starting quarterback to play at least 50 games with a single team in the Super Bowl era. Now to join a saints team, does that a top ten defense in terms of points allowed in each of the past three seasons, cars ever played with a top 15 defense in terms of points allowed in his career. Let's go to our quarterback Dan. When you think about this fit for Derek Carr. It's really good for both parties, not only Derek Carr, but the same, you know, if we think about the saints offense and what they ask of the quarterback and two things that I think Derek goes really well. One, get the ball out pretty quickly. He's really good with the quick game, making sure ball is getting spit out to the sidelines, catchable throws, and then pushing the ball downfield. I've always thought one of the more underrated default throwers in the NFL. And I think it's gonna work really well with Pete Carmichael, who's been the offensive coordinator in New Orleans for like 14 years now. And that's one of the reasons why I understood the schematic fit. I also think this, Derek's really good under center, and the saints do it a lot. If you look at the way he performs when you put him on her center and live in that play out in the world, he's very good at it. The saints like it has a big part of their offense because that offensive line still could be a top ten unit, a question is what is the roster they're going to look like after this contract comes into play because they've been over the cap and this is only going to impact that in some fashion. You know what? They have a lot of nice young pieces on the offensive side of the ball that are really going to directly benefit from Derek Carr's veteran presence, his leadership, his consistency quite honestly in terms of being a guy who's going to be hold himself accountable to other teammates and that's exactly what young guys like crystal larvae, rasheed shahid, the wide receivers Adam troutman that tight in juwan Johnson at Titan. These are guys where I've all seen play multiple times live and they are fantastic, fantastic athletes with great character who want to win football games. And Derek looked down as you mentioned, as being one of the better deep ball throwers, I think Pete Carmichael, via the Sean Payton tree, is one of the better schemers of being able to dial up those play action shots that are able to push the ball down the field. And look, anybody who hasn't seen Rashida, he play, this kid can absolutely fly. And I mean fly in Chris the lobby is one of the best route runners of all the young generation of wide receivers coming up. So he has a lot to work with, man. A ton to work with down here in New Orleans. And we'll see what the future holds for Michael Thomas with there are plenty of other pieces in place. Coach, what does it mean for the saints though right now in the NFC south? A golfing term, they are first in the Clubhouse right now. They posted a score in the NFC south and when you think about what you bring some table, not only his ability to throw the ball as you talked about play action, offense fits his skill set. But what he's going to do for the locker room. And we're losing sight of that. When you think about bringing in a quarterback, a veteran quarterback, how is he going to handle the locker room? This personality a plus. He'll get along with these players, coach, drafted him with the Raiders so he understands the mindset of the guy he's bringing to the door. There's no guesswork here. I know dairy car. I know as much about Derek Carr's anybody because I drafted him as a raider coach. So this is a good fit for Derek Carr and the same. And of course, Seamus Winston likely on the outs as a result of this move. We'll have more on the jets perspective, of course, the jets were also one of the suitors for Derek car a little bit later on in the show, but we have more news and for that would turn the chef to what is going on out in Kansas City, chef Dee. Well, field at the combine, the chiefs and the agent for defensive and Frank Clark had some discussions about a reworked contract that two sides were unable to come to an agreement and therefore in the coming days the chiefs are expected to release the 29 year old defensive end who was the NFL's third all time leading sack leader in the postseason. And so there would be one more big free agent. Now the chiefs made some news today. They're not tagging. They're offensive tackle Orlando Brown. They still would like to bring them back, see if they could work out a deal with him, but they also plan to move on from Frank Clark. So these are some of the fallout scenarios for winning the Super Bowl when you win a Super Bowl people get paid. People want more money. And Orlando Brown is going to want to be paid though. It's something to be there in Kansas City, protecting Patrick Mahomes, and then Frank Clark, who's been an asset in a force in the postseason. He'll have the chance to test the free agent market as well, and I would imagine there'll be some severe significant interest in his services. A question about that. If you actually are pretty good edge class this year in free agency, you know, we're just about 24 hours away from the NFL's deadline to use a franchise or transition tag and chesty. We're right back to you with more news out of Dallas. The Dallas Cowboys put their franchise tag on Tony Pollard. They recognized that they did not want to lose him. He means too much to their offense and so that franchise tag worth over $10 million officially was placed on Tony Pollard today and now they'll continue to try to work out the long-term deal that the two sides were unable to get done this past week in Indianapolis when the two sides met about a long-term extension. Now the running back question in Dallas, of course, will involve Ezekiel Elliott, who's got no more guaranteed money on his contract. I think there's a chance that the cowboys wind up moving on from him, he's a cut candidate, though Dallas would like to see if there's a way to restructure that contract and get it to where he's back on a lower number, but that'll be a call that Ezekiel Elliott will have to make and we'll see how that transpires and unfolds here in the coming days. It's a great point. You have to be because as of right now when things can change fast, those two running backs combined account for about $27 million on the cap in 2023. It's just the right move though on using the use of the franchise tag on Tony Pollard. Oh, no question. Tony Paul is the most explosive player in offense. And significant parts. I have two questions kind of leading going into the future with it is the leg injury that he suffered against San Francisco. How much does that impact the negotiation for the long-term deal? And

"The smartest way to hire. All right, news segment, starting with the chiefs. That is my number one ride or die, plant my flag team. I think with the chiefs, you either have to say they're going to be better, they're going to be worse, but you can't say they're the same because they're not because tyreek hill is no longer on the team. And they're shifting what they want to do offensively. At least a little bit. I think from by all accounts, they got pretty spooked by how defenses were just playing them last year and just kind of daring them to run the ball and they weren't really equipped to run the ball that hill couldn't really black. Kelsey can't really block and they just Cincinnati and a couple other teams. Definitely stumbled on some sort of recipe that they have now fixed. I am planning my flag on the KC will be better. Real estate. I said this on Tuesday's pod. They offensive line, which basically it's the first full year together. But for the most part there together, they bested heavily in it. They struck oil with their center that they drafted. And they've just created they have the best offensive line in the league or the second best offensive line. And for me, mahomes plus time is the scariest thing in the league. And I don't really care who has receivers are because if he has three to 5 to 7 seconds to throw every play, guys are going to get open and he's going to find them. And there's also a little bit of that whole just incredibly embarrassing playoff loss. There's some borough Herbert buzz. Josh Allen. The little Josh Allen, there's a little bit of the rocky four running around on the mountain. He's trying to see how high you can go with the parka on to the mahomes season. I'm all in. I'm going to pick them to win the Super Bowl and that's my team. This is the stuff that Kansas City Chiefs fans have been looking for because Bill. I'm in the same boat. We never talked about this. I almost don't like the fact that you did all that spiel because that would have been my spiel. And I'll go even further with it. Mahomes is a different cat. And I've gotten to know him a little bit. And this off season I spent some time in Kansas City and this guy watches everything. And when I say watches everything, I mean, he watches what people say, he watches how teams are reacting, how other teams are responding, but he's taking notes on all this. And there have been analysts out there who have said that the chiefs are going to be the fourth place team in the AFC west. There are others who have crowned Josh Allen as already, you know, the top player in the league and mahones has been sitting back there and waiting. And watching. And this room of wide receivers is not tyreek hill. It is a variety of guys. And juju, prior to the injury, he'll be fine, has looked amazing as a number one guy. Marques valdes scantling, who quite frankly, Rogers lost trust in because he wasn't running the right route at times. He wasn't always there. Mahomes, different type of person in the huddle. I think that's going to work. Skye Moore, The Rookie, excellent so far. Justin Watson out of the University of Pennsylvania who came fantasy. Justin Watson, who wears number 84, has been a beast in practice. And then you add all the different big men at tight end with Kelsey and fortson and Noah gray. There are weapons and Pacheco. Number ten, the new running back from Rutgers, like awesome. This is the type of team that everyone's going to discount and say, well, is this the year they fall off a cliff and mulholland isn't going to let it happen. And I trust mahomes and Andy Reid. And maybe I trust them to a fault, but all the reasons you said, and they might have the best young defenders in Nick Bolton at number 54 who's right there playing the linebacker spot. Their second round pick last year. And they believe that they've got in luxurious need and 32, the safety, they've got a great young defensive backfield. You know, everyone's reaction was, how could you not sign the honey badger? There's a reason they don't resign the honey badger. They think about Frank Clark, come back here. Frank Clark, come back here, Chris Jones. Chris Jones playing in the right spot for the whole season? I'm telling you, they are, they are very bullish on themselves in that building, but not in a boastful way, but just that yeah, you guys talk about tyreek all you want and good luck to tyreek, but all that stuff, they've been stacking the chips. And I feel like you've seen it in the preseason games. They're lights out. I know it's just preseason, but mahomes doesn't have to play in these games. I think there's a bit of him and Andy wanting to show the world, all right. All right, doubt us. You should doubt us. Go for it. And I'm not going to be one of those people to do that. Who's had the most wins the last 9 years? Chiefs? 103.

"Well, you know, and I went through that and my number one option if I am Bill Belichick, I'm eyeing a tag and trade. And I looked back, it's gone basically crazy in the last two years. That and I have the wrong year on Jarvis lander getting traded. But there have been 5 tag and trades in recent years in the NFL. You know, you had Yannick in gawk way, went for a second and a 5th judeo and Clowney went for two players, a third round pick, Frank Clark, and a third went for a first a third and a second, he got an extension from Casey, it would be the same sort of thing because you have to in a tag and trade, you have to factor in. All right, well, this new team is going to have to give him a new deal to make it worthwhile for them. It's going to have to be in place. They're going to have to talk to Jackson and his representatives. So you're going to have to have a good extension in place. D Ford got an extension from the going from KC to San Francisco. Went for a second round pick. Jarvis Landry went for a fourth and a 7th got an extension going from Miami to Cleveland. So this has been happening more and more. Of late. And what's going for the Patriots is that, look, we've seen it all this year. There is a dearth of good cornerback play in this league. Every team has some sort of cornerback needs, even the Patriots. There are not enough to go around and so if you're a team who perhaps is a little bit more sold on JC Jackson off the field or willing to take the risk, then you say, all right, well, look, I can get a starting caliber cornerback right now. A good starting caliber cornerback at the very least, who could grow to be more. He's 26. He's coming into his.

"I feel like the only catch chase made downfield in that divisional round game in Tennessee was the last one to set up the set of the field goal there. I think everything else was a lot of quick stuff. And that said, I mean, he is, he is incredible with the ball in his hands, like at a level where I always thought he was good with the ball in his hands at LSU. I didn't think he was going to be able to do what he's doing, which is, I mean, there was a one throw to the flat, where it's like, two guys were pursuing them. It's like, all right, this is gonna be like a four yard gain and all of a sudden he just hits another hits another level here and turns the corner and doesn't lose any speed when he's turning the corner and then he's 25 yards down field. So he created a bunch of stuff out of kind of nothing in that game. And then they had the one big throw to him and that was that was kind of it, but I would expect, especially after last time, I mean, they have to bracket him at all times. There's no, there's no more option for the chiefs. There's no more single coverage on a Jamar chase in any scenario. Yeah. And I went back and I was looking at their first matchup and this is so it's interesting. What the Titans did to Joe burrow. I thought was worth noting because they traditionally are one of the least blitz happy teams in the NFL. And what they did early was they kind of emptied the emptied the ammo on their blitz stuff, which was only like four or 5 times that they blitzed, right? And they also emptied their ammo on all the stunt stuff where they were kind of switching stuff with the defensive line and have one guy crash. One guy loop all that kind of stuff. But then for the rest of the game, once the Bengals were tired, it was four on 5 and it was just like an ass kicking, you know, and Jeffrey Simmons was just dominating. And the chiefs didn't even need to do that in their first matchup. Like if you look at that opening drive, you know, and I don't know how many times this has happened to the Bengals this year where did basically three guys trying to block Chris Jones and then you somehow get Frank Clark like isolated on the tight end. And this happened time and time and time again for them. And of course, Joe burrow just gets crushed on that. And you don't need Jeffrey Simmons to be able to create that kind of pressure. And if you have Chris Jones plus Frank Clark, like you're going to be able to really kind of screw his day up a little bit. So other side of the ball here, last time they met it was look it was a bit of a dink and dunk game for mahomes and this chief's offense here and they were out to a lead. They maybe ran a little bit more than you'd get in a normal game script and then the Bengals came back and retook the lead. But I do want to note, when they played last time, Tyree killed did not seem to be, you know, it looked like he was playing about 75%. He was not his usual self, whereas, as we saw last week, he was his usual self, but when they met the first time, let's see 40 yards on 6 catches and ten targets..

"On Thursday. It's noon right now. PT because we wanted to get the chiefs chargers game into this. And the reason is because the COVID stops just gone bonkers and basketball and in football. And our picks on a Thursday, not knowing who's playing and not knowing who's going to get scratched. It seems like Thursday's the only game. I feel great about it. Is the league in a complete panic right now? What's going on? No, I mean, they're hell bent on getting these games in, but I'll tell you some of the teams are in a complete panic. And you look at what's happening with Washington and with Los Angeles and with Cleveland, who has to play on Saturday, and now Chicago, if you saw it as we're going to record in this, they don't have a head coach offensive coordinator defensive coordinator or special teams coach. The head coach actually Maggie's fine, but like, I don't know, the rams, I don't know if the rams can feel the team right now. But the NFL says we're playing these games. And the unfortunate thing about it is that if this was like week three or week four, you could say, well, there's some wiggle room. Kit really rescheduled these games. Like, we're here at the end of the season and the playoffs are not changing. So, I don't know, man. This is something else. Yeah, my thought was that we would just go big on chiefs chargers and then sprinkle some on the rest. But I don't want to actually put big money on any of these games such as money. I don't know, it's going to play. What if we take the paths and all of sudden they lose their entire secondary on Friday? It's just such a weird times. And you know, the way most of these everybody just about, I would say is vaccinated, probably in the league, or at least most of them. So it's not, it doesn't feel like anything's life threatening here, but at the same time nobody understands how fast can you spread it? Is this the flu? Is it where she does? Here's the problem. They all had a leak meeting, all the owners, all the presidents and all the health officials in Irving, Texas this week. And a lot of people were like, all right, we understand that like you're being safe here, but if you're testing every single day and these guys are asymptomatic and they're vaccinated and they don't feel sick, like can we change these rules? And I think the NFL would love to and they might. The NFL Players Association, the union is hell bent on as of now. Let's stay with the daily testing and let's do what's best for these players and it's a collectively bargained policy. So it's not as easy as that. I'm going to be really interested to see how it plays out because these rules might change. We need the union and need the players to buy in. Crazy times. And we're heading toward the playoffs. That's the other piece of this. And who knows how that's I wonder would they actually postpone a game? What would need to happen? Let's say one of these teams, the browns, Washington, one of these teams passes the point of no return, and they can't feel the football team. They have the two week window between the championship games and the Super Bowl. So would they consider nudging everything back a week? I don't know. I think they're going to have to start thinking that way. Going to have to look at everything and the players union has to cooperate with it. I'll say that there was some heated discussions this week at the league meetings. And I know there are a lot of representatives from teams saying, hey, we need to change these. This is not the life or death thing we have vaccines and as calluses it sounds like we've played 15 weeks. Let's not throw the season away because of some rules that we think might be changing. But who knows the NFL's being rather be safe than sorry but gosh, you look at a team like tonight, the Chargers don't have rashawn slater. He's the best left tackle in football the last few weeks. He's their best player on their offensive line this season. And now you got Frank Clark and whoever else because of this. He can't play in Sean slater, most likely feels fine. Right. Weird times, Drake's. I know. Not as weird for us because we just every week we have bad luck and we lose games. We had tough beats on the browns and all that stuff last week. But as I'm looking ahead at week 15, it's hard not to see the shadow of the one and only urban Meyer. Over one of the games where the Jaguars are 5 point favorites against the Texans. The line moved after he got fired because I think people were like, oh, they're gonna try. Empty your urban Meyer notebook. What are the three craziest things you heard about this this week? Well, it was coming to a head. And Tom Pelosi from the NFL network did a really fine job chronicling it with that article on Saturday. And I think one of the things that stood out most to a lot of people said, no one from Jacksonville at all was like, no wait a second. That's not true. Like not one person came out and was like, no, he didn't get into a fiery argument with Marvin Jones or no, he didn't bench James Robinson and Trevor Lawrence begged him to come back in. There was no one coming to his side. So I could tell you that shot con the owner did a bit of a fact finding mission this week was speaking to a lot of people within the building. And then once you got that Josh Lambo story on the record and no one came out and was outraged by that story, I think it expedited. But the story that what I heard as of Wednesday was like, they got the Texans this week. They got the jets next week. Let's give it those two weeks and let's reassess. And then once the Lambeau article came out, I think it really expedited things. But at the league meetings, I could tell you that it was a hot topic of conversation and I feel like shot con saw the writing on the wall and said, let's rip the band aid off. Bill, it's the first time we've ever in the history of the NFL seen a first year coach fired before the end of the season. We've seen petrino leave. We've seen coaches get fired after one year. Never through this. Just through 13 games. It's pretty wild. I think it might be the new go to reference. For me, it was always spurrier in that crazy Washington year he had where he's like, it's working 8 hours a day. It's like, oh, good luck. Good luck with that strategy. And the NFL, but there's been some good ones. You mentioned Saban lasted a couple of years. This one went the worst. All the signs were there, all spring all summer. And it makes you wonder, like, why would teams ever do this again? Yeah..

"Gregory is a great addition there and had that batted down pass interception but can cut a break up. Some of those quick throws that Patrick mahomes does to get a lot of his best skill position players involved. So i think again. It's like it's not one of those things re freak out and you see the blueprint exists to be the chiefs but you know that it's possible on a slightly more regular basis than it was before. Yeah it's it's not like Taking away tarry kill with some and never Occurred to people over the past couple of seasons. I mean they're they're gonna see this more often than not this. This sort of exaggerated too deep safety. Look where you absolutely do not let anything over the top Come in there. But i mean right now. Look a part of the reason. The chiefs are losing games because they are turning the ball over. They are giving away possessions. fort four giveaway zero takeaways. That is the second time in three weeks. They have done that. They didn't gets the chargers to their minus seven on the season and turnover differential up. That stuff makes a difference when you are getting into these sort of the tonight wasn't one possession but if you get into a lot of possession gains and ended up giving possession that That makes a difference there. Also just no no pass rush and we know. We know chris jones tonight but like i dunno frank clark man. Frank clark is just been complete. Non factor which And they gave up a ton of draft capital. They gave him a big contract. They now decided they would whether you know his his Passed the domestic violence Allegation from from his michigan days that kept a lot of teams away from him and right. Now they're just getting nothing out of the guy i mean. They definitely missed chris jones because he is such a presence up front and also because he has to be such a presence. Upfront and there just. Aren't that many good players on defense. So when you're missing one of those good players it really makes a big impact. It does feel a little bit. Like i don't know correct me if i'm wrong here. But that the chiefs are kind of what they are. Right is a collection of very very good players to elite players. And then just like a and then just players you know what i mean. It seems like the roster has grown more top heavy The you know. And i'm not blaming it on patrick mahomes contractor or anything but like since the days of that second super bowl the roster has kind of grown slightly more top heavy to the point. Where like i think you have a lot of replacement level guys mixed in and while it's every team i think the replacement level talent there is is not as elevated. Maybe a smaller teams not. I think that's fair. And a guy like daniel sorenson. Who's been around there forever. And they keep them there for that sorta comfort level and then he gives you the you know sort of shaky performance like he got tonight from from a safety in a game where you just don't wanna give up. Repeated big plays not. The you want that to happen any game but especially when you're going against a really good team like buffalo and this is my favorite part of.

"But some people when they take pictures on instagram. Make it look better than what it actually is like. They improved their wife on just social media so people think that things are great when in reality they're not as great something that people do So if you wanted to edit to shawn watson out of instagram you'd definitely do it clearly. He has been working out a lot. he's been throwing. He's been kinda getting more into the spotlight. I would say you know. You'll get his his longtime agent reps reps all those guys Has had to sean around. I mean that's a guy. You know sean. As a guy they look up to. He's been training with them and he has been. I would say more active on social media. Maybe a sign that he's ready to get back to work as well. I want to get figured out in a short amount of time but you know obviously his intention is to kind of football and get right back into it. So i think my respect level for mullah gate. The is so high that he would not have to sean around justin love jordan. Love or justin fields is. There wasn't some positive. I don't know just that's me reading into too deep. I don't know why you would want to associate with a potential twenty some the if it was you know i just i just think for me that feels like business was or maybe mortgages like you're my dime so you're not we'll figure it all out as we go. I'm not hundred percent sure but that is july twelfth for you in the nfl. Right what do you have. Yeah rap sheet. Is there any word from the chiefs as to what they're expecting with frank clark and also well they jump back into free agency to try and replace him if they do end up losing him for the season. I mean first of all with frank clark edge. Rush they have had melvin. Ingram in for a visit was about a month or so ago. So usually when you have a veteran like that wants you know real money in for visit and you don't sign that's the guy you revisit kind of before camp. You know if if frank cork is off the field for dealing with far far more serious issues like gun charges including having having an uzi in his gym bag in california right. And i haven't done all of the work but it doesn't sound like there's a lot of wiggle room when it comes to the gun laws there. That's like. That's like texaco whenever he shoved himself. He's got himself. He was the victim of his own gunshot near like. Oh that means you have a gun on you bang. You're going to see. I mean it is. There's some serious lots new york. Obviously california's different. But there are some serious gun laws in those states. Right yeah and you know. It's not like they care whether or not frank cork and rush the passer and not she. She can't law is the law. So i'm curious to see how quickly that goes. I mean the charges extremely serious I don't know enough about what options he might have to avoid jail time. But i do know that you know. Obviously this is something the nfl's looking at looking at very seriously and You know we'll see about his availability for the start of the season and beyond there's just at this point. There's there's way more uncertainty than there is certainty for frank clark and for the kansas city chiefs off the field was with frank clark and i said this whenever we found out about the uzi incident. Why does he feel like he has to have. That is a number one question. I think we should have as a like. Hey two different gun. Charges in a couple months period and he was strapped strapped. Why who houses going. That doesn't sound. Good though for chiefs or frank clark teasing. Ps we help everything ends up all right and nobody ends up hurt. What do you have time in for a while there. I think the packers were talking about making davante adams the highest paid wide receiver and talking about doing a deal with him Him re-signing do you think that's entirely dependent on whether or not rogers comes back. Yes i would be crazy. Things have happened. So i hate saying this but i'd be really surprised if devante adam signs before aaron rodgers like i i know he likes green bay. He's been pretty successful. He likes his quarterback as being everybody does i know. The packers divides adams's definitely someone. The packers would like to extend. I have heard that haven't heard any traction there. As far as i haven't heard any progress about a new deal for davante adams. But i don't i don't see him or maybe anyone like i don't see any packers deal before aaron rodgers would make no sense to. If rogers doesn't fact get a new contract that kind of makes this situation salvageable and something they can deal with then they will to their next to would be devante adams cigar. We got your quarterback. Now it's now it's really talk and we'll see if they can do it kind of before the start of the season although the packers do deals at all times They did bahktiar like middle of the season last year. So if they don't get it done before the season. I'm sure we'll continue talking to see. He won't be deserving of every penny that he gets. Have they thought about a potential extension. Raise for qatari after what he did for the milwaukee bucks in guaranteeing a non sweep in the finals of the bucks in milwaukee last night alongside old dana beers and mr takatori on the jumbotron is have the packers thought about maybe giving him a life life term deal. I mean they gave him so much money. Can i just tell you. What's fucking carries. The grace he really is being being star off guy also is awesome. Because you really want your sort of set for life and you know like there's nobody you can just do whatever you want like when we all like to do that right. Yeah but you can't shove a beer. Let alone two of them. The guinea do crazy.

"The lions weren't in the super bowl. Although i will say this weekend i saw a snowy owl and that was a superb owl to see i had to work upon in there anyway. There are some michigan ties to the super bowl this year. That is correct There were nine people. Eight coaches one player who had ties to the great state of michigan. Actually make that ten former michigan state assistant. Who was on the buck who was on the kansas city sidelines. But the ones that i saw my one is picked out. I will go with the team. That loss to kansas city chiefs had chad henny who most remember from his as at michigan. Backup quarterback superstar big ten Levy on bell who. I didn't even realize it's on kansas city. I wondered what happened to his career after he left. The steelers and frank clark most recently from michigan university now for the victors. The bucks had six names. Six names i antonio brown the much-maligned receiver went to central michigan. Everyone knows time brady university of michigan. A seven rings. Every michigan fan is patriots slash bucks. Fan William golson who went to detroit southeastern and later on to michigan state university known for his infamous punch. Unfortunately you also have dominated sue. The defensive line destructor with the lions. Everyone loved him until he left. And then everyone did not like him as much one name. I'm surprised to see 'cause. I thought he'd retired a long time ago until someone tweeted a picture of him with his kids. Drew stanton of farmington hills harrison. Which is oh. Yeah now closed. He's still kicking around. Yeah i think he's probably gonna retire. I think he really wanted to ring. Go out on. Top farmington hills harrison michigan state. And then you know. His time with the lions i will say side note whenever i played madden. I'd always make him my quarterback because he was the most mobile of the lines quarterback at the time so you know whatever and finally coach for them who also super bowl when the steelers were one of the championship in detroit. Coach larry foot of pershing high school and michigan football. And i think he played a year at the lions as well. But yeah fuse the lines as well..

"Goodyear more driven before we bring in Diana. I want you to listen to this from Chiefs linebacker Frank Clark. I mean, you think on the other side of the field, Tom Brady's been shouldering the load to get the bucks to where they are this year, snapping the NFL second longest playoff drought or guess what? It's not all about the neck up for Brady. Frank actually says it's from believe it or not. Just slightly the neck down. How can't you bring down this old dude? He got these shows. Have you ever seen times I can show There's nothing in that pocket. Come on. Y'all got a little film for this. Y'all got attached to film this video to the shoulders crazy sometime. I ain't got nothing against nobody, You know, a 43 year old age lanes around those hands. A man should be able to move his shoulders like that is quite amazing. He not it is a party. But it's like man. He just good. Honestly, sometimes just living the shine. What I think the shine watching the best You watch Tom Brady. Sometimes in that pocket, man. You can't really tell the difference. I don't know if he means Brady played for a second team. And so Mike to Shawn, That's another story for another day. Let's bring him Diana. She joins us this morning, Dina that comment from Frank Luck really caught you what more can yet here? Well, I feel like any good reporter needs to get a second source when you hear something like that, So Frank Clark obviously spent a very long time came to the details of that Brady shoulder shimmy. So I asked his teammate Chris Jones not expecting to get such an elaborate answer. Well, Chris spent like two minutes talking to me about how he'd Frank watch film of Brady and feel like you got to just see this tape, man. You've gotta watch how he does this and the thing is, we all know what he's talking about How pretty is able to escape the pressure so well, but Their enthusiasm about it. It sounded like it was coming from obviously a place of respect, but also ah, place of concern for these two guys who are looking to take him down. Remember? This cheese team blitz Tom Brady on third down every single time. The last time they faced each other and week 12, and they didn't have a lot of success doing it, so they've got their hands full. So, so they're being cute about the shimmy that Brady does, but they know that on top of all the pocket awareness that he brings to this game His ability to actually move is better than what I think we we talk about how right now hard the teams filling overall heading into this big game on Sunday. Hey, Keith, you know You've heard guys talk. Days leading up to the Super Bowl before and they give you a little lip service of Yeah, we're prepared. We're ready. But on the zoom calls, and this is a perk of assume call is I feel like everybody forgets the players being That there's you know, hundreds of media people on these calls. It's not just them looking into a lens. Um, and the sense I'm getting is That she's feel really confident going into this game. They point to being prepared. They give the credit to Andy Reid, but you've got guys like Tyreek Hill. Who spent a pretty long time Also talking about Patrick Mahomes throwing dots out on the field. You know, you gotta figure Terry Kill has seen patch Mahomes look really sharp. During the week leading up to any game, and obviously he's had so much success with him in big moments, but he was talking to him like we're talking about him like he had never seen Patrick Mom's play before. That's how psyched he was about how sharp Holmes looks at this point. And then Travis Kelsey was just very open, he says. This is the most prepared we've ever been for any game. So I mean, I think that's a really, really strong statement. And social. We know how Andy Reid is. Guys. You give this guy time you give them two weeks. And he's gonna take care of business..

I did I get into the data. You've got the rags and I've been through it all. You're not throwing me any curve balls here. I'm familiar with all the territories. He had the rats. The furnaces have done. It checks out. The rats destroyed our furnace. That's is that what happened? You guys furnished? No, that's a wrinkle. Okay, Okay. There's a wrinkle know. What do you mean? They got the 40 They doing chewing on it? Or, like, Tell you what? No joke. We were lucky man. They said we had a full rat infestation. We thought we had brought a guy out. We did. We brought some guys out. But apparently the rats are like, what is that? Is that all? You got? Not stopping me with this When they take you for, like for, like, an hour. They're like we'll go away for a Knauer soon is that guy's gone? We're coming back. Scale warfare, man. You're going to hold them for a frame of mind once this thing gets, uh, gets, you know, in Its own flow it so if you become obsessed, you really do. The rat is a brilliant creature. Unfortunately, uh, conniving there are, you know, keep popping. So they came pouring back in and apparently unbeknownst to us began tearing up our insulation and you and making nests inside our furnace. The Suns, which Polly Insulation can catch fire, Okay, we dodged a major bullet that this malfunctioning furnace did not. Spark up a insulation. Rat nest fire. So good lord. I know, right? You're lucky your partner's talking to you right now. Now I'm pissed that the rats too. It's like, how dare you guys like, you know what I mean? I'm pissed. I'm pissed that your hair metal guys for naming themselves rat to tease you do with to tease, you know, And plus, I got to say, you know where if it's one thing to like, you know, have to like, you know, root around and like and build a nest. But now you throw in a fire hazard in the mix, you know? Yeah. We dodged a major bullet. So this, uh, pee in the rat guy's coming today. Nice not to be confused. A Syrian Clark or member of Jethro tells faith, but he's gonna get down there in the bit in the bitter cold and rain and he's gonna He's gonna try toe seal off these rats once and for all, Because the first guys can't do anything until the rats are taking care of interest thing. I mean, it's like we got to get runners on before we can score. Right. Well, let's just get in your wife. I'm talking today is d day. Then I'm talking to pull every lever. I'm pressing the red button. Whatever. I'm talking full scale attack. I want all these rats eliminated so we can get some heat back up in your house, Maybe having Tom Brady and to take care of the rest. We'll see. He just walked around looking at all the rats here. We'll see you guys, by the way. I got. I got thrown into the hot the deep end yesterday with my Irish podcast second captains because they put they put me in a position and I just I just Joan Brady. I just snapped on him, too. And I just I just doubled down on Joe on the prize. And then they started telling me that I was crazy. You know the U S Murph man, you lost your mind. You're losing your way. E. I think I think there are people all over the Republic of Ireland right now. I think that I'm I've lost as they say over there, Polly. Lost the plot. That's what he's lost. His did lost a plug for this. Well, I gave him my whole argument about you know, what is what is the greatest of all time. Now we talking the greatest. When are the most prolific or the guy? You wanted? One game? I mean, what are we talking about here? These are all important questions. And also I need to know. Did you throw in the Lawrence Taylor clause? I always mentioned that I was going with my my favorite analogy of yesterday. The Jack versus Tiger versus Hogan. How each guy could be considered the greatest in a different way. Yeah, yeah, I mean, Like Jack. Yeah, That's Brady. Jack is Brady Brady's Jack. But there are people we like. Jack's great the time. Take Tiger. Yeah. I mean, you know, he doesn't have many majors. I take Tiger and other people like, Oh, you take Tiger Hogan was the best of them. All. He's is the mystical creature. They don't have made some right. Anyway, I went with that. I think they were ruefully shaking their heads at me. I think there were all Brady acolytes over there. So it's getting harder and harder. What with the Murph? What With the double digit Super Bowl appearances do double digits. Now, you know, it's bonkers you get. It's crazy. Is he going to go win this freaking thing? I mean, if he wins this one, he might start thinking like, Forget about just appearances. Maybe I should win 10 before I retire because Refuse if he wins in their position. Yeah, they're in their position to go Do it again next year, Right? Yeah. I don't see why not. I mean, I think that I haven't looked at their free agency, but they got a good team. You know, Writing clearly, you look around the NFC and the Packers were I mean, I hate to start this and the Packers, But if the shoe fits, man, you're gonna have to slip into this at some point like the Packers can you know they can do all they want during the regular season, but you can pretty much talk him up for a loss. I mean, which NFC teams looming out there to knock off Tony. That's my point. Exactly. Maybe the Niners are rebuilt and chest. Kyle Shanahan in the hat. Maybe, you know, could be what you said yesterday. The thought of Nick Bosa kind of breathing down. Tom Brady's naked, pretty intrigued. See that that's my fantasy. I'm not, You know, that's my folks. So we get him to Boston with me. If you would take the whole game, he would get him. At some point. I tell you look Frank Clark and Chris Jones the can to Kansas City D lineman who best member that they were knocking down Jimmy's balls and They were, You know, Frank Clark in the fur coats, and I got no message from. I'll just see his ass on Sunday, Right? Exactly. All right. Well, this is a good warrior basketball tonight. How about that? Yeah. I don't know where there's a Kelly. You break trade Rumor just kind of cropped up yesterday. I'm not sure the warriors have gotten what they what they hope to be getting from him. By this point. You know what I mean? Like I'm starting to develop a slight fondness for because he plays hard, You know, but His shooting has been up just brutal. And then he doesn't and I think steps out here like this guy never passes me the ball. Yeah, So, so there's a little and he's a free agent. The end the year it's not like they were building the franchise around him, right? S so funny. T believe Lake up took on this luxury tax for a brain Now they're thinking of trading him, You know, two weeks in or whatever, some its not working What? 70 million to me? I don't even know right. By the way, The other thing is, too is he's talking about missed opportunities. Like there's all these things were pointing at, like you say, like missing open receivers that it's confounding because there's a kind of play like Rodgers makes it asleep yet he didn't do it or see these guys yesterday. Also, let's not forget more federal food's up. Who were the pics, But certainly of at least one of the picks. Assumes the Packers got the ball back. They went three and out. Yes, there was that three and out on both picks when I believe on the road again. Yeah, just three and out. At least one of them If not both him involved a sack from Pierre Polar bear. Yeah, because pass Rush is everything in life do that's why George see for once said If he could have his two he'd have 53 d lineman on his roster. Yeah. Hey goes this draft thing. I don't get it. I guess if I was, if I was me, we just have 83 defensive lineman, Right? Yeah, Charles, You're Charles Haley's I'm the guy who's treating Joe Montana like he's some sort of deity who walks on water. Guess why he won? Because Fred Dean and Charles Haley, we're out there. Second fools. Okay, That's why he won right. And same thing with Brady and the Patriots because of the defense man and just take care of you got the D and the Packer D could not get to Brady. And by the way, Coach I might need my two favorite new cuts of the day. If there's any way you can package these up for me. Later. I might need a Stephen A going. Let him run the ball into a if it's possible. Yeah. Damn, boy. What a day for sounds. What a day per cent. You. Well, you know, I gotta ask you because you're saying and I don't disagree with you. By the way, you're right without a great defense. You're not gonna win a championship. Specifically, a pass rush to the Chiefs have that to the Chiefs have enough to to disrupt what Brady knows he needs to do out there. That's the question of the next two weeks and copes have we had plans to play other sound? But if you can cue up Frank Clark and let me know when you have it, there is one man out there and he wasn't a problem for the Niners Last year, Frank Clark played well against the Niners. He's the D M that the chief chose to keep over D Ford. And he after the game, he got to Josh Alan last night. He did. He got to Alan a couple times when he hit Alan. I was like, Oh, that he could do that to Brady next week. That could be a big thing. So Frank Clark shows up in a fur coat. Holly fur coat, Okay, Sure, sure, And he's asked. You know, Chase Young, the young rookie from Washington said. Give me Brady. Give me Brady just Frank Clark want to say the same thing. A few weeks back Chase Young say that he wants Tom Brady. He wants Tom. You have a message for the go ahead of them. The Super Bowl. Um No, no, I'm gonna say Tomasi is concerned and soon, Bob greatest. That's my favorite kind of the day. He's smart. What am I gonna say? Yeah. Bring on Brady. No, no, no. Uh, I'm gonna say Tomasi is on Sunday. And so, Bob. Some kids perfect. By the way. The Hayward is okay on our radio, right? Uh, what can we get that for the next two weeks when we get that un beeped. Yeah, you can. It's not like in market student. Yeah, because I think that sound unbeaten would be amazing. Just simply. I'll see his ass in the Super Bowl Sunday. Exactly. It's pretty darn good. Meanwhile, on the other side, the grin of a Tom Brady I mean, we saw it. I told you the last thing I saw before I went to bed last night. I'm scrolling the phone making sure I'm all up to date. Polly to give you the best radio show. I can give you my father. And I'm scrolling in right. The last thing that crops up on my screen is a post from Tom Brady. Nice. It's him and drunk. On the tarmac doing there. Is it copes? Help me a puff Daddy or did he who gets now is I think now he goes by Didi. But at the time was it Puff Daddy when he's saying he could have been puffy than to any official title of the song is we bad boys? Always for life. Bad boys like you. You're going nowhere. Him and drunk. They've done this before they did it. I think after the Kansas City game, I think it was after the A C championship game in Kansas City Poly. Yeah. And they're walking together to the airport to the airplane. And Brady's given this look just raised eyebrows in the bit in the song is playing bad boys, and then he tilts his phone and walking alongside him is drunk..

"More homes. Entire e kill. And Travis Kelsey. And then they have a couple key defense of guys. Chris Jones up the middle, You know, defense Attack position. Karen Matthew Frank Clark. It's just really well built, built team. They're so explosive. I mean, they scare you offensively because of the speed that they have. And it's hard to not say that patch where Holmes is the best quarterback in the NFL right now, with what he's able to do and what he's done. I mean, just Win loss percentage. Over the last couple years is just remarkable when he's the starter. Well, now, if if you're just going off wins and losses in the games that Mahomes has started, they've won 25 of their last 26 games. It is 25 1 that is unheard of in this league last week 438 yards of offense against Cleveland this week. 439 yards of offense for Kansas City, third straight A F C championship game for the chief's. They've hosted all three. No way of C team has ever done that. Through the biggest turning. They lost that first one they've won their last two fireworks went off here in Kansas City. The fans have remained for the most part in their seats to watch this celebration Chiefs players have now lined up. And we are set to go. Waiting on this presentation to begin. Tracy Wolfson.

"The Browns had all the momentum with about eight minutes left with my homes out there running the ball well, and they came up with some real big stops. Goffi offense, the ball back and the Browns didn't have a chance to take the lead to win the game in the fourth, But the defense s O Tyron Matthew is really the key. He's the defense of leader. He He kind of goes all over the field. He plays some safety, even place. Um, cornerback even you know, maybe some linebacker can roam and freelance and he's really good at just reading routes. And then their defense line is probably the strength. Chris Jones is probably the most talented player on the defense. Now, if if there's an issue, they've had it that their pass rush has been a little bit down. Frank Clark ease High paid edge rusher Defensive end has had a little bit of an off year s O, You know, that's that's something. He only had six sacks for a guy who's one of the highest paid defensive lineman and The NFL's. She's a little low, so you know, I'm sure the bills were kind of hoping that they can exploit that and keep the chief's pass rushers of day. Uh, really gay, the linebackers out, But I guess a couple other key players, we mentioned Edwards a layer Sammy Watkins. Lady on Belle. Any idea they were listen, is questionable on the injury report later in the week. Any idea of their status for this game? Yeah. I think they're going tol places they were practicing this week, So I'm assuming they're going to play and Walk ins is interesting. He gives kind of the chief. Another little dimension because you know, it's almost like you have to get so much attention to Tyree Kill, and Kelsey give that other weapon that you know, sees if even single coverage Is very dangerous and also goes against the team that drafted him the bill, so ah lot of motivation there. If he plays, which I expect you can. I actually think what they did last year they held out Chris Jones. In the divisional round just to be kind of saved. God had passed the Texans and then Chris Jones played from then on May have championship game in the Super Bowl, I think, and we just kind of doing the same thing just being real cautious. With what? With walk ins on that front. We talked about the concussion that well, the The injury that Patrick Mahomes incurred last weekend going through concussion protocol, but his tone was also a big deal to you, but you touched on that a little bit in the beginning. I mean, is that still a concern? I think it is a concern. Now. Mohammed has said all the right things that has gotten better with Today for that. That's what he said. That's what we have to go on. But you know, what is he gonna say? He's not gonna say Well, Oh, man, It's killing me, You know, So I think I really think that's the thing to watch. He's gonna play seems cogent. I don't think that concussion is an issue, but Um, that you know, he relies on his mobility a lot. He's not. He's not the fastest cop, but he's very nimble. He can, um when he kind of steps back in the pocket, ER suspect patrol. He's so fast that and they're so elusive and does a lot of run pass options. So if his mobility is limited You know that that that definitely could have an effect on this game. Jeff Adult nor guest covers the chief's Forbes a number of other outlets and does a chief's podcast as well. What is it about Andy Reid? I mean, he wins. Every worry goes, Hey, seems like a likable guy. But I'm just wondering what kind of person is he? And why does he get so much out of his team? On and is it more than just the talent that he has to work with? Yeah, I think you know. When he won last year after getting so close last year. Everybody. It seemed nationally locally media, other football people What kind of rooting for him And I think that's because he's such a The reason he's very likable and a good guy and that that shows why the players like playing for him so much. He's really a player's coach. He gives second chances. Two guys we've seen guys he bring in and in the way That, Um, Kelsey in the home of last year, especially, you know, it was really about just winning for Reed. That really was one of the thea monsters and so that that that That's a lot about re. He's obviously a skilled plate collar that great football coach but also its is likability that that makes him so popular in actual guy he was doing press conferences. You know, he he's not. He'd always pushed for them themselves usually mentioned his love cheeseburgers or how you could have a cheeseburger after game he made. He's you know, lighthearted, self deprecating making fun of this. Is wait and things like that. So yeah, I think that's who Andy Reid is. Travis Kelsey. We like him out here obviously played a variety right? What is the problem? With Eric the enemy and landing a head coaching job. What? What is I mean, he interviews. He doesn't get these jobs and I know there's some things in his past that Um, domestically might have come back at some point to haunt him. But I mean, just unsure talent, and probably I'm not. I don't know, but I'm guessing probably he's moved on from a lot of the things in his past that might haunt him. Why? Why don't people giving him a chance? Great question. I think we're all wondering that he's certainly very deserving. I don't know if there's maybe a couple of knocks on them one the fact that he doesn't Really call the plays, and that Andy Reid is is such a master play color. So people pick that is a knock wood against on the other coaches, offensive coaches who who got jobs as you like. Dan Campbell didn't call the place. I don't know if the fact that he is a former running back for running back coach People equate him or with that versus everyone is interesting. The passing game, which is the wave of the future. Um and I don't know with, you know Doug Peterson, obviously one Super Bowl but then quickly fell out of favor and Matt Maggie's been on Sin ice in Chicago. I don't know if the other lead assistance maybe that's hurting him. And, of course, you know, I I hope that in the case that you want to do wonder about race, and that's something that is hurting his chances. But regardless he I mean, he That he seems like such a good football coach. Not just the players love him, just as a leader is a motivator, but also his understanding of offensive principles. So Yeah, it is a very surprising and disappointing Yeah, I mean, on and among his stops, and the National Football League was here in Cincinnati. He was running back for the Bangles many, many years right on, but just it just I just strikes me as odd that someone who regardless if he calls, plays or not, someone who is at the epicenter of one of the best teams in the National Football League defending Super Bowl champs just strikes me as odd. I don't know. I hope he gets a chance somewhere might have gotten a chance here a couple of years ago under different circumstances, but I just I just look at what that team does, and If he's the offensive coordinator. He has to have some input as to what's going on, even if in the middle of a game he doesn't call plays. If that's the case, hire the guy and then have somebody call the place for him. It's truly baffling. The one that really, you know, I think there were some higher Arthur Smith that was really impressed What he did with Tennessee thing with Dan Campbell. He's coached under Sean Pain ourselves and a very good office of the Saints..

Super Bowl 54 Recap

"Kansas City Thirty One San Francisco Twenty air it. It is Mitchell as he's been waited his whole damn life to make that call and cheese fans. They've been waiting fifty years for their team to Hoist Lombardi and it finally finally happened on this. The second of February two thousand twenty the Kansas City chiefs are the super bowl champions after that thirty one to twenty win over the San the average Cisco Forty nine dollars a game in which they were down like they were all their postseason games by double digits. This time in the fourth quarter and yet Patrick Mahomes and company would not not be denied. Dan Heads here the around the NFL podcast presented by little caesars. And yes I'm coming to you from a hard rock stadium that is filled with heroes mark. Sesser Chris Wesseling and Greg Rosenthal. What is up boys? Hey Dan still filled with some chiefs fans and employs employs. Usually I feel like we start the taping after midnight. got going a little quicker like there's still an MVP chant going on the exciting. These fans. Don't WANNA leave. They've waited. You know half a century for this. Yeah usually when we're here it feels like we're ghosts like passing passing through a stadium and and and you can't. You're not sure if you're humid or not until you get back to the hotel but in this case where here. The field is is covered in confetti. Where on the third level the really Nice hardrock stadium here in Miami was great Super Bowl Week? A lot of fun a great city for a super bowl the eleventh and Super Bowl in this area which is most just past New Orleans and If you're a cheese fan this was the dream come come true and I got to watch the second half of this game in the seats With my cousin Matt and I just you know watching an older gentleman guy looked like he was in his fifties with his wife Cheese FAN IN JERSEY. As that game it became clear. After obviously the Damian will even before the Damian Williams run that clinched it it was becoming clear then the Williams touchdown and then there was this release. Like Oh my God the chiefs are GonNa win the Super Bowl and it was a well-earned win and one that didn't look particularly like it was heading in this direction even halfway through the fourth. That's quarter the chiefs to me. Their players and coach Kinda remind me of the fans. It's been so long since they got that Super Bowl in Randy read. It's been so long a guy like Frank Clark find his way there. Honey Badger finds his way to Kansas City to make this happen. Terrell suggs is lucky enough to come along for the ride at the end of the year. A lot of I just find their way to Kansas City and end up winning this one and you're right fourth quarter at midway through the fourth quarter forty nine hundred ninety five point six percent win probability. I know that's not your stat. The latest evidence that people need to stop talking about win probability it means nothing other than a twitter talking boy. It means it means it's unlikely the other team's GonNa win and now know Kyle Shanahan. Would it peaked at about ninety nine point wait. Six percent against the Patriots early in the fourth quarter always had ninety five point six percent. The percentage. I don't think takes into account Patrick Mahomes uh-huh it just doesn't or the chiefs offense or Andy Reid like the way that you have to dominate Patrick mahomes and make his life. If uncomfortable for sixty minutes I think is the hardest thing to do in the NFL. The forty niners balled out on defense. Not Unlike I believe the the Seahawks balled out on defense against the broncos. They did so many things right for the first three quarters. I think in a lot of scenarios and with a lot of quarterbacks that game would have been twenty seven to six at with eight minutes left in the fourth quarter and they're never could've been a comeback but mahomes got out of a lot of plays blaze. That could have gone worse. He had a lot of negative. Plays the chiefs defense. Did just enough and it just shows you. Yeah you can. You can do a lot while. They held him to five point three yards per play which is a very very low number for the chiefs and she's still put up thirty one points in nine drives. They barely have the ball. They still went over not surprising. Because that's what they've been doing for for months and months and if we had one kernel of information going into the for the last two weeks to to base our analysis on that the chiefs and Patrick Mahomes I would open the third quarter with back to back picks by Patrick Mahomes and that the niners would be nestling a twenty two ten lead minutes into into the fourth. You would think this is a perfect setup for San Francisco to run away with this thing but if you give Patrick Mahomes even ten minutes to operate and it gets hot. Aw everything's off the table. Fifty fifty two and a half minutes of game time the niners down day and I remember thinking as has the game was reaching as it's ticking through the fourth quarter and they have a twenty two ten lead and thinking what made the chief. So unstoppable all when they were humming the regular season but especially in those two comebacks in the AFC playoffs it. was that big play ability. That the niners there's through their dominant front four. Were taking away. Mahomes running for his life just by his brilliance kept the game close because is almost any other quarterback decided. Lamar Jackson has a couple sacks. Fumbles and the game gets away. Like what Von Miller Cam Newton a few years back but he was able to stay on his feet. Keep the game from getting away and the what really sticks out to me at that moment again. Midway through the fourth quarter after the tyreek hill catches is overturned on review. And you feel the entire building is psyching up. It feels like the niners are about to make the big play. Plays away from winning the super. Aw It is third and a miles third and fourteen. I believe third and fifteen and I leaned to my cousin Matt. I said the most likely play. Is You get try to get half of this back and then make a manageable fourth-down fourth and five and get it done. But no that's not what the chiefs do that's not how they operate and even a game where they never made any big plays with the season on the line mahomes dropback. This time found tyreek Hill West on a busted coverage and that changed

Jalen Ramsey Active, Will Start for Jaguars vs. Titans After Requesting Trade

"Moving onto jalen Ramsey he wants out of Jacksonville unfortunately for him he will be playing against the dines tonight for Jacksonville in Jacksonville the Jags all pro cornerback has requested a trade but we'll be active again with the trade seemingly coming sometime after the game so C. C. which contender should try to acquire Jalen Ramsey. I don't mean I it doesn't have to be a contender tender for me right now. We only played two games. Everyone's a contender the giants I think we make a quarterback's which we right back into this but I think there are certain places that would be better perform. I think the raiders Jon Gruden got the CAP space. They got a really young teen. They could use the corner play. They could also use a star going to Las Vegas the Tennessee Titans. I do believe coach coons. He was a legendary highschool coach coach at Ohio State. He only coastal hieaux until last year we took the job in Tennessee variable who has experienced at Ohio state went there and got him. He is a great defensive back coach in his hometown there with the Titan the raiders are the titans feel are the smoothest transitions for him for a guy that has that type of skill set big corner wants to play a lot of man to man and as we said before he's from Tennessee and wants to go back there and anytime if you can get a big time star like that in a smaller market like Tennessee yeah I think that they should look into that particularly when he's listed the titans previously before the season as a place he'd like to play sometimes you worry big-time star. Would he be happy going to a small market the size of the market in Jacksonville's not why he's unhappy and because of his roots in Tennessee he has already said Nashville would be a place. He wants to thirty proven that he can get national attention no no matter no matter what I mean he's he's one of the star players in the league and one of the faces of the League that we have on the defensive side of the ball one team you mentioned yesterday for I give a couple of others that that I thought really interesting was Philly Philly. Obviously is a contender philly that is the place where they need. I would argue help the most on the back end of their defense particularly the corners because is I liked now. Come Jenkins. I understand we're talking about phillies injuries those they deal with spate of season ending injuries for Philadelphia with how active Howie Roseman has been and how great he's been at almost manipulating the cap to free up space when they need it you would mention philly yesterday that to me is a really interesting fit. It would be something that if you're the Dallas cowboys and you see wait eagles got who the Eagles got jalen Ramsey at the not even at the deadline a month into the season that could be a game changer. I'M GONNA mention a team no one's attaching them to but I think they have the space the picks they have the need. What about the Los Angeles Angeles chargers now maybe they don't WanNa pay Jalen Ramsey they all they're going to have to pay Joey Bosa two guys but they have the cap space to do it? They they are right now. They know that last year they were this close to being the number one seed in the AFC Derwin James is going to come back at some point at the end of the season they already have an extraordinary corner in Casey Hayward but they're starting a guy who was an undrafted free agent couple years ago at the other corner spot if you added few had Casey Hayward Jalen Ramsey Ramsey winter when James comes back that immediately becomes far and away the best secondary in the NFL well for one next year to pay Joey Bosa Casey's already already making a bunch of money Derwin James you already know you're going to have to pay him now. Both of those guys being from Florida state sometime. You think that oh well. Maybe that would work well. Maybe that might Mike not work so I don't know they haven't been the most contract friendly to their player. Philip rivers doesn't have a contract so to me. That's a lot of money that a team that is not customary to pay a lot of money. I don't think they would have that kind of money tied up in their secondary. Just two more teams quickly obviously yesterday. We talked a lot about the chiefs. It's for the cheap since the best player available at the biggest position of need but I do think the chiefs would have real cap issues with that Patrick mahomes going to become the highest paid player forever a year from now. They paid tyreek Hill. They went they paid frank. Clark may be above market. Sammy Watkins they can get off him next year. If they want to play really well race you're adding the highest paid corner in. NFL history was what Jalen is going to become would be tough to keep an eye on the colts though called I mean the colts have enormous cap space the draft capital. They're obviously going to try to win without being a super explosive offense the culture. If I'm Chris Ballard with Andy I am calling Jacksonville and bill and trying to take their temperature on that but he plays his last game tonight for the Jaguars most likely absolutely that would be my guess about eight players to borough road
