"Any decisions. You haven't made any judgments. Will people aren't like that? That's why I say it's impossible. We go through life. We have experience. We form judgments. We form values. That informs our work. It certainly informs yours, but it never makes you unfair, and it never makes you knowingly inaccurate. We all make mistakes occasionally, you make very few and usually correct them immediately. And that means that you are willing to listen that you are willing to interrogate that your conscious of your opinions. But you also have values. I'm saying that as a word, as I understand it, it can't exist in a thinking person, because the thinking person makes choices. That's why I say fairness as opposed to leaving accuracy aside, that's why actually fairness is what I substitute for objectivity, not accuracy, which I think any journalist who knowingly lies is not a journalist. I accept that and endorse this message. Can I ask you to sort of wait a minute? This is about me. I'm asking you something. Okay, go ahead. I want to talk about what makes your program unique in a maligned medium actually where all maligned, right? Shakespeare wrote in a play first, let's shoot all the lawyers. I've met enough people who feel that they should, you know, metaphorically shoot all the journalists. But talk radio has a bad name, mostly because of a.m. when it's the most important community building mechanism we can have in the Brian lerer community is one of the smartest best informed ones there is, and it's partly because you rise above what might be expected in so many ways. You don't just give them a voice, you give them important things to talk about and especially around election times, like now. You give them this innovation, which I'm so proud of. I talk about it all the time, even though it's not mine, which is 30 issues in 30 days. You say innovation in a way, it's just old fashioned public affairs. Not like that. Not the way you do it in a run up to an election. So people understand what they need to consider when they become the informed electorate that they're supposed to be. 30 issues and 30 days was born during the 2004 presidential election cycle. This year, I was proud that we did that because let's say in New York, for example, where we both are. The race had become so much about crime, one way or the other. And then the media ran with that. But again, what about healthcare? What about housing? What about democracy? What about so many other things? Abortion was the other issue that was being discussed. And of course, we wanted to discuss that too. But what we avoided, I think, was the temptation to indulge in red wave stories, which turned out to be false because we as a matter of policy did not do explicit polling segments. As opposed to following the structure that we set up for ourselves, we were going to do an issue a day for 30 minutes. It is the polls on the prognostication that fuels every election cycle and, of course, proved to be disastrous this time around. It makes me think again of the ways that you go deeper than people think you're going to go as host of a media show. And I want to take this in a different direction, but I think it relates back to the trouble with reality and how we interact with the media on your show, you're going to show that was hooked around the emotion of fear. And the obvious newsy angle was that Fox News had recently amped up their coverage of crime, even though crime rates had not suddenly increased. And your takeaway from that, if I heard it right, was that they were doing this as an election strategy to help the Republicans win because ginning up fear of crime was proving an effective strategy in some cases. But then you went from there to later in the show, a segment about horror movies. It was Halloween week also. And that's exactly. And I know you like horror movies. We've once had this conversation in the office. And I'm like, no, I just want to look away. Give me a call or something, you know? Why do you like horror films again? Well, I think that I'm more naturally a fearful person than you are, Brian. I think a lot of what I do is motivated by fear, whether I'm conscious of it all the time or not. I think therefore I really crave the catharsis you can get by being scared in a safe place like a movie seed or on your living room couch. And so there's certainly that. There's a sort of predictability to it as the person we interviewed discussed that sense that you're going to be scared and formulaic ways, which makes it even easier to take. It's almost like a COVID vaccine or almost any kind of vaccine for the potential illness in question for controlled dose of fear or horror. Possibly, after the peace I did Becca Clark calendar, one of our producers did a piece on black horror in particular. And there was a maker of a horror film who talked to women who had horrible experiences during Jim Crow and he'd used some of those tropes in these films and he said too much, not good. Do you hate it? And they said, no, we love it. It's so much easier to process when we see it this way than when it's a continuous pressure up a formless fear invading your life and your unconscious. I think we've used our available time and we should probably lift the curtain. We don't have an arc. Can I offer a tribute to you? I love your program. I love what you do for New York City. I love your queens accent. And I know that all of New York loves it too. I hope you never, ever try and get rid of it. At this point, it would be way too late in any case. And I love your show and the many spurs that it has created, including even one of your producers winding up, testifying at the oath keepers trial. Because the reporting that he did in the context of on the media revealed so much. So keep pulling back the curtain on our media and ourselves and we are so lucky to have you as hosted managing editor of OTM and not me.

"Now Mark Warner went on TV And smeared you And said that you're just doing this to obstruct this and that there's protections built into this law And you certainly didn't have an opportunity to respond to that Would you like to Yeah so it was unfortunate He's apologizing to stand and I appreciate his apology It is important that we speak with clarity when speaking with others He went on there and in response to a question from Shannon bremont Fox News Sunday who asked him you know what about Mike Lee's amendment Don't you think that's necessary And he went on to say well Mike Lee first of all Mike Lee is a Mormon And the Mormon church supports this bill without the amendment making it sound like my church spoke for me and making it sound like my church was against my amendment which wasn't true Yeah but by the way and Romney sounded the same way just for the record but go right ahead Right Which is which is also unfortunate but anytime somebody mischaracterizes somebody else's church or their own church it's unfortunate and many compounded the error by saying look here's the deal Mike Lee had a chance to pass this amendment at a simple majority threshold in the Senate which wasn't true We finally voted on it today This was ten days ago or so He was claiming that I had already had a chance to get it passed 51 vote threshold which wasn't true And made it sound like that coupled with my church's position on it meant that the only reason I could be doing this was to engage engage in bad faith delay tactics This is the cheap sleazy move to characterize somebody else's church somebody else's religion is speaking for them and then saying that you couldn't possibly have a good faith legislative objective in trying to create this religious protection

"That's legacy p.m. investments dot com. All right, it's a great big mess over in Arizona. And we're going to get to that in just a moment. Want to bring you up to speed on what's happening in Georgia with the Senate race next Tuesday is the runoff election between Warnock and Herschel Walker. And we can now tell you that Donald Trump is not going to be campaigning in the state of Georgia and it's Lara Ingram asked walker about this. And by the way, Herschel is supposed to be on our show tomorrow. I would not hold your breath, but fingers crossed he actually shows up this time. But anyway, Laura Ingraham on Fox News channel yesterday, as Herschel Walker about what's the deal here, why isn't Trump and he sort of he didn't really he didn't want to answer the question. So I don't know what's going on. Newt Gingrich says quote and I'm going to read this quote to you from speaker newt. He says, I think Trump would be more effective if he did it by phone. A suggesting that Trump participate in an automated phone call to Republican voters, the night before the election. Gingrich compared the hypothetical get out the vote call to what Trump did for Glenn youngkin in 2021, keep in mind Trump did not campaign in Virginia. During that gubernatorial race. And the Republicans in Georgia are concerned that having Trump on stage could be problematic. And it could actually turn voters away from Donald Trump is that true, George a listeners, is that true? Would you would you like to see Trump out stumping for Herschel Walker seems to me you would eat all hands on deck. But apparently, they say they're going to get a bigger bang for their buck with Brian Kemp out there campaigning the governor of Georgia, who really just smoked Stacey Abrams, and that gubernatorial race. One reelection. But people are a little concerned. There's been record historic turnout in early voting. A lot of young people are getting out to vote and that normally does not bode well for the Republicans. Democrats senator Raphael Warnock is running an ad featuring a video clip of Trump praising Herschel and the word stop Donald Trump stop Herschel Walker pop up on the screen. A person close to the walker campaign talking to Politico, by the way. Speaking on the condition of anonymity, about Georgia's complicated dynamic with Trump, said the campaign has not asked Trump to visit the state and Trump has not asked to come. So it sort of like, I don't know, the Cold War. You've got to stalemate and the state of Georgia is the neutral zone..

Lord Conrad Black and Sebastian Discuss Former Press Sec. Jen Psaki

"You mentioned, I played you a cut from the current White House, press secretary. She was very, very angry today as Fauci gave his last speech from the podium before he retires. You said, who do you prefer more Jen Psaki or the current incumbent? Well, Jen Psaki was more competent. I mean, this was competent, frankly. But I find her rather an amiable personality where I found Jen Psaki really rather obnoxious. Well, let's talk about Kayleigh McEnany, which is the champion. I thought I thought she was great. Let's talk about the predecessor. Let's talk about Jen Psaki because she's in the news. This is from Fox News dot com. Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Monday that there wasn't a lot Democrats could have done to change the inflation reality. A federal judge ruled Monday that the former White House press secretary must comply with the subpoena and offer a deposition in a lawsuit that claims the Biden administration colluded with big tech to sense a speech. Now, her response and I must read it to you. This is directly from Jen Psaki to the judge, lord black. Sitting for a deposition would be extremely burdensome for me. I understand that I would need to devote several days to preparing for the deposition, as well as attending the deposition itself. And that would be highly disruptive to both my work and my family. My response on social media or black is, well, that's a great excuse that president Trump can use now that there's a special counsel coming off to him. Your response. That's just nonsense. But self indulgence self serving pompous statements. I mean, she knew when she was took that job on that there was going to be a good deal of controversy because her party. And so addicted to stirring up spurious litigation against its opponents, she might reasonably assume that some of it would come back at them. And as press secretary, she might have to testify and give evidence. And the president current president did her the honor of conferring that important position on her. And she had to know that something like that went with the therapy. So what did she talking about? I

"Doctor Fauci is the most fraudulent person on Planet Earth. He's the most fraudulent person on Planet Earth. If you ask me my opinion, I believe he should be put behind bars for the rest of his life. Why do you say that Brandon? That's very harsh. To lie to the American people, deceive the American people, people have died based on his deception for whatever reason. Vicariously, he's responsible for turmoil, death, joblessness, people committing suicide because people like Doctor Fauci can't tell you the freaking truth. Won't tell you the truth about it. They won't even be honest that it came from China. They literally fought Trump on this point. Well, we don't know. You know it came from gain of function research, but you lied, then they lied and said you're supposed to work, you shouldn't wear a mask. Because they quote unquote trying to protect first responders and let them have enough masks so they don't run out. So they tell us a lie. How many people died because of that? According to the logic of Doctor Fauci, probably many people.

Colorado Club Q Shooting Suspect Is 'Non-Binary'

"Let's get on to some news. Colorado mass shooting identifies as a non binary. Now, I don't know if this person, and if you're not familiar with the Colorado shooting in Colorado Springs, a nut job went into a gay nightclub, called club Q or something like that, and decided to shoot up people, end up killing about 5 people and injuring several other people, but now that he's being presented in front of a judge, he's now identified as non binary. I'm going to try to read again because I think these articles explain a little better than I do. I'm not going to say the person's name because he's a scumbag and I'm not going to say scumbags names. The suspect in a daily Colorado LGBTQ nightclub massacre is non binary and uses they them pronouns. Their lawyer said in a new court filing Tuesday. This is so stupid. But blank blank is non binary, the footnote states, the Denver post reported. They use they them pronouns and for the purpose of all forms filed on all formal filings, we will be addressed as mix blank. So I'm not going to say his name, but it's mixed blank. So it's MX, so not mister with MR or miss with MS or MRS. It's MX. And I don't know if this is just adding insult to injury by a person being so fanatically against homosexuality and the trans stuff that he would go so far is to kill people, knowing that one day he will be in court and then in court adding insult to injury by just adding on to the foolery by saying that he identified as a non binary.

There's Things That We Have to Be Thankful For...

"There's things that we have to be thankful for. Do not forget to count your blessings. Don't let stress in the perception of depression to make you forget all of the wonderful things that God has done in your life, all of your great accomplishments, you've got to look at the good with the bad. But be thankful. This is your opportunity to be thankful. And I just want to give some context to Thanksgiving. I know a lot of people may not understand the true history of it. People may only think that Thanksgiving is about neck bones, collard greens, chitlins, at least that's what I remember Thanksgiving to be. However, my wife refused to cook me chitlins. But I understand they smell like crap. So she don't want to cook them. But anybody out there that know how good chitlins is when you put some hot sauce on it, especially y'all people from the south, you know what I'm talking about. I'll miss those chipmunk. But let me just read this to you. And I think this is very well laid out. My producer sent it to me and I think that it was pretty good. It says, let us let all give thanks to what we are thankful for. In autumn of 1621, Plymouth colony governor William Bradford urged his brethren to observe a Thanksgiving Day observations observance, I'm sorry, for God's harvest, blessings with pilgrims and Native Americans who helped him. In 1777, after the Revolutionary War, victory over the British at the Sarah Saratoga, the second Continental Congress declared that there should be a day of Thanksgiving.

Libs Blame Lauren Boebert, Tucker Carlson for Colorado Gunman

"Some of the things they were saying were just simply horrendous, as a matter of fact, I want you to listen to cut 14. This is someone saying that Lauren boebert that congresswoman and Tucker Carlson, they need to be flogged. They need to be punished for defending these children against these radical sex and gender revolutionaries. Cut 14. You need to see accountability and consequences. So first, a real quick hate crime charge here on top of the homicide charges, I applaud that. That tells me prosecutors and police, they found quickly what they needed. That means they know this was a bias crime. This is likely, and since we've heard reports that the subject isn't cooperating with police, that means they likely found clear and convincing evidence on his devices. If he's a consumer of the people we just rattled off from Lauren boebert to Tucker Carlson, let's get it out. Let's get it out at trial. Let's expose it for what it is. Name it and shame it. He's a consumer of these people and those people should face civil consequences from the victims. The other thing they want to deny is not only the safe harbor, but the way we resolve this. And by that, I mean, you asked earlier, how do we put a stop to hate? Well, one of the things you would normally do is teach young children in school, here's what race is about. These other people over here who may seem different to you. They have a different orientation. But you know what? Increasingly, states are saying, no, no, no. You can't talk about race or say the word gay or teach anything in schools. So they deny the resolution mechanism that we would normally use. So this guy is saying that the government clearly was a fan of Lauren boebert and watch Tucker Carlson all the time. Well, there's no proof of that. And I can not sit here behind this big, beautiful, huge conservative microphone, and tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt that the guys ever watched Fox News channel. I can't tell you that because nobody knows that.

Rep. Jim Banks: Pentagon Promotes CRT, Gender Identity 'Insanity'

"There is a very disturbing report out this is the headline from Fox News, Pentagon promotes critical race theory, gender identity, insanity. This is according to a GOP report that was obtained exclusively by Fox News, what's in this report? What can you tell us congressman? But The Pentagon told us that they weren't, they weren't pushing critical race theory, right? The last couple of years, they've been telling us that's not happening. It's not going on. It's completely provable and the report proves it that they've been advancing anti americanism through pushing CRT, other ideologies on our own troops. I've battled back and forth in the armed services committee hearing room with the top admiral and the United States Navy with secretary milley or general milley and secretary Austin, the top leadership of The Pentagon on these issues, it's unsustainable for a country to ask the next generation of young men and women to raise their right hand, take the oath of office that I did to serve protect and sometimes in some cases even ultimately the risk of paying the ultimate sacrifice for our country when we, at the same time, teach our kids and tell our troops that America is inherently evil and racist and that we're dying for this unsustainable as a country and that's why it's so dangerous that they would allow this ideology to creep into our institutions of the military and out among some of our troops who are younger who are enlisted and you're teaching them this garbage. So it's dangerous. We have to do something about it. Now that we had, again, now we have the we will have the majority. It might be a narrow majority, but Mike Rogers from Alabama will be the chairman of the House armed services committee with the gavel, we have to use that authority to force The Pentagon to stop spilling this garbage teaching this garbage pushing this garbage out on our men and women in uniform.

The Left Has a Game Here...

"Thought we'd start by talking about, well, the Trump announcement, some of the kind of one way skirmishing that's gone on between Trump and desantis. And of course, the left egging all of that on, and then finally also Mike Pence kind of weighing in now, I have a couple of initial thoughts I want to put on the table and then see what honeys have you react to them. The first one is I think that the left is they have a game here. They hate Trump. And they hate the SanDisk. But they realized if we can kind of use desantis as a truncheon to beat up Trump, he's the guy we are really afraid of. But if we can somehow knock him out with desantis, then the fight between them that we will encourage will be bruising enough that desantis himself will be wounded. And we're going to end up with our ideal nominee, Mike Pence. Or somebody of that ilk. In other words, kind of someone who's more someone is just more placid, more kind of a nonentity, not threatening, certainly not threatening to the left. Someone at the left goes we can easily beat this guy if by some miracle he beat us, we have nothing to worry about. We would be able to police this guy almost like a dog on a leash. So I think this is what the left is going for with Trump and descent. And they want to fight. Guess who else is on this bandwagon? Fox News. A Murdoch. Right. They actually announced that they are going to support desantis and not Trump.

"I say that, I don't believe Donald Trump should run again. I believe that he's got too much against him, and I don't think they're going to quit trying to get him till they get him with something. And he's got too many foes in both parties. So I think he's going to he's innocent. He's been my man, and I believe these gods man for the time, but you know, I just don't believe that he has a chance of winning anymore. Maybe desantis would be would be the one to go with now because Donald Trump's just got too much against him. And if people get behind him, I mean, he was the best president. This country has ever had in my opinion that I know of. So anyway, that's what I got to say. Yeah, you know Jeff that's an interesting, it's an interesting thing you brought up because Trump is going to be battling his own party, the establishment wing, and they're going to be coming after him. They're going to try to sabotage him. So he's got to not only fight the Democrats, and the mainstream media. He's going to have to take on the establishment wing of his own party and he is not going to have Fox News channel there to present the truth of these accusations that have been levied and will be levied against him, so that's something you've got to factor in. And the other big part of that is, where does Trump go to siphon off voters from the Democrats? What demographics will join him that have not joined him to this point.

Was Pres. Trump's Speech Effective When Announcing His 2024 Bid?

"President making the announcement there at beautiful Mar-a-Lago. I mean, the place was packed and very enthusiastic crowd. No doubt there are a lot of people that are not very happy about the president's decision, and we're going to get into that in just a little while. But I'm curious to hear from you. The president last night a delivering a speech. Look, I thought it was a fine speech. The question is, was it effective? I thought the president's tone, the president's tenor, was spot on. I thought he was very measured. And how he delivered the speech he was on point. He did not stray. He didn't chase it. He squirrels. And as near as I can tell, the only people he offended were people on the left. So that is a good thing. There are many people that are questioning the they're calling it the lack of enthusiasm. They're saying the speech was boring. I don't know that it was necessarily boring. It was just long. Well over an hour last night, the networks, let's see here. CNN and I don't know if this was a breaking news or a miracle, but CNN actually broadcast the speech. They dipped out about I had a low 45 minutes or so into it. Fox News carried the speech, but they dipped out of it. And then dipped back in, newsmax, I believe, is the only network that carried the speech cover to cover. From genesis to revelation as they say. So newsmax, I thought did a terrific job with their coverage, and by that, I mean, they just let the president speak. You know, there was no commentary until after the speech was over. But MSD and C did not cover the speech at all. They were, they decided to take a pass and they were in regular programming, as was Fox

Daily Mail: Rupert Murdoch Will Not Be Supporting Donald Trump

"There is a report out of the daily mail. That the owner of Fox News channel Rupert Murdoch is saying that they are not going to be supporting Donald Trump in this presidential cycle. And that's why we've seen Fox News take a turn. We've already seen the New York Post and The Wall Street Journal take a turn against Trump as well. So I'm curious to know if that's going to have any impact on your viewing habits, if Fox News is ordered to stand down. And not get behind Donald Trump. And again, this goes back to a much broader question. What happens when the establishment Republicans decide they're going to take their ball and go home? Now, some of you out there are going to say, well, we're just going to keep fighting. Okay, yes, but that is a losing proposition. And this is the challenge. For the Republican Party, we're divided party right now. No doubt about it. A divided party. And we got to figure out how does everybody get along for the greater good. And what is that greater good?

Ned Ryun: We Have to Beat Democrats With Early Voting, Mail-In Ballots

"Here's one of the challenges. About early voting and mail in ballots. The founder of American majority, Ned Ryan, is a great, great voice in America. I see him pop up on Fox News all the time. He's often on Tucker over the weekend. He said this to Pete hegseth on Fox News channel. And states where we know early voting and mail in ballots, it is rife for corruption and fraud, where we have the ability to outlaw, we must. And where we can't. And I have to tell you, Pete, after Tuesday night's elections in Michigan and Pennsylvania and other places, we better play by the rules of the game that have been laid out for us. And if they want to have early voting, universal mail in, ballot harvesting in those states, we better figure out how to beat them at their own game. He's right, of course, we got to beat them at their own game. I don't know what that means. Because here's the problem with Ned Ryan's argument. Florida. Lots of early in person voting. I was one of them. Thank goodness. I wound up having COVID election week and was working from home and was scheduled to travel. It was supposed to be in South Carolina, so I did something I don't like to do. I went early. I hate early voting. I want to go on election day. I'll stand in a line. But I went early. There are plenty of mail in ballots in Florida as well. Why does Florida have no problem? Counting the votes.

Mike Lindell and Eric Discuss Trump's Potential Big Announcement

"One of the things that gives me hope, frankly, is that next Tuesday, down at Mar-a-Lago, you'll probably be there. I don't know if I will be able to get an invitation, but president Trump will be announcing it seems to me he'll be announcing that he is running again in 2024. That is going to get a lot of people excited. There's just no way around it. That's something that I think people I just heard him, I was in Pennsylvania at the rally with Doug must Rihanna. And he really, he just knows how to give hope when he's speaking on the stump like that. It's just kind of amazing. So I'm personally just excited about that, that he's going to be out there. Right. You know what? And we don't know what his announcement is. We were praying that is the announcement. But I will say this to, you know, you think back the rally she did like you were at Eric. Do you remember let's go back in time, ready? Wow, you got to watch those rallies on Fox News. Now I want everyone to think about this. You know, why doesn't Fox air these anymore? It's a, you know, it would be millions of people watching, you know, you got to ask yourself that. So I'm just saying that do they not want people to hear hope? I don't know. You decide for yourself. But I want to say, before I go, I want to tell people when we speak of hope, we have a terrible thing that happened in our country where people can't hear the hope, and that combined with open borders and fentanyl rolling across into our country and people have turned to addiction, which I know it's like Russian roulette, whether you're going to die or not. And I want to tell everyone by Linda recovery network dot org is free. Get people there. You know, it's free. You can't beat free. And they know I was an exotic, and they'll actually go there. I talk to people all the time, Eric, and they go, wow, I went there myself and it gave me hope in, you know, and inspired and inspiration. And so I just try to encourage people. If you're not getting the message out of hope, you know, you've got to tell other people that there is hope out there with our country. We're going, we are going to get our country back and get it's going to be better, safer and more great again.

Rebecca Weber: A Structural Voting Problem Promoted by Democrats

"Are reading Seamus column here, make some very good points for example. Mitch McConnell out there publicly endorsing and supporting candidates who were clearly anti Trump looking at rhino Lisa Murkowski, giving her money. He also spent big money on Murkowski, even though she voted to confirm kanti Brown Jackson while she voted against Brett Kavanaugh. This is an in your face move, meanwhile, you have Kevin McCarthy out there, and he is covertly and has been covertly supporting establishment candidates and trying to sabotage the campaigns of true conservative candidates out there. That's exactly right. And we saw that a lot of the candidates hand picked by Kevin McCarthy lost races. But again, major media knows that people know the Trump's name, the average person might not know who Kevin McCarthy is, unless you're paying attention to politics, right? And even if you look at what happened with the Oz betterman race, I don't think it's because Trump endorsed a bad candidate. I think that 70% of the democratic vote was mailed in prior to the debate. And we know that the debate was a bit of a goal. And we know this as a sediment campaign really misled the public. Saying that his stroke was not very severe. So we're seeing this over and over again. There's definitely a structural voting problem. We've seen that. We see how the Democrats are using COVID to implement and extend a vote by mail in early voting schemes. So this is something that we here at a Mac or very focused about or members care. We had over 12,000 amac members who participated as poll watchers, but this was an issue impacting the entire country and we've got a really work aggressively to remedy.

Janice dean is the Fox News senior meteorologist, she's an author. She's based in New York City. Of course, you see her all over all over Fox News channel and she became a personal hero of many of us for the brave battle that she waged against the corrupt New York State leadership over the nursing home scandal, Janice, it's a joy to talk to you although under very difficult circumstances with hurricane Ian, but may I just quickly say, thank you for all the work you've done on behalf of your late in laws, your husband, your family, New Yorkers, and Americans, you are a treasure and we're grateful for all of your efforts. Oh my goodness. I didn't expect that. I'm very appreciative of your listeners and of you for the recognition. It was, you know, it's a battle that's still ongoing to be quite honest with you. I'm not going to stop until we have justice. And I do believe we will at some point. I really believe there will be subpoenas issued at some point and we will get to the bottom of why our governor and his administration are former governor put all of those sick patients in a nursing home. It's something that we should treat as a disaster. Exactly. And for many who may not know, but you both your husband's parents died and you just waged, I think you made a decision. I mean, you're a meteorologist and you're an accomplished experienced broadcaster, but I think you decided that you have a high enough you've got a platform where you could shine a light on this scandal and many credit you with bringing a lot of people to accountability over what happened. Well, I hope that happens. We still have to get there. There are many things going on behind the scenes that I hope to be able to tell you about the next couple of months to do that to bring our families justice. But I think it's because I'm not a political person, Mike. You've known me for many years. I am the meteorologist. I deliver the forecast and when there's a serious storm like we have right now bearing down on Florida, I take my job really seriously. You know, I always say the red and blue. I see on a map or areas of low pressure and high pressure. And I sort of like to keep it that way, but when I realized that there was deep corruption and something that was really evil going on. And I had the ability to bring awareness to what was happening here in New York during the pandemic. I had to do it on behalf of the over 15,000 elderly that perished and were really put in harm's way..

"Polls including one by fox. News itself have now shown. The president biden's vaccine requirements and other cove measures are widely popular so republicans and right wing. Pundits have been forced to come up with increasingly insane arguments against him for more on this. It's time for a closer look way. You can tell that the republican party is intellectually bankrupt. Is that they spend very little time talking about policy and a lot more time talking about conspiracy theories they concocted out of nowhere so hard to keep up with the right wing rumor mill. That sometimes i'll only find out about one after it's been debunked. Yesterday was scrolling through twitter and slopes headline. That said no joe biden is not a westworld robot created by george soros to steal your hamburgers and i thought now right. I forgot to tape judge janine last night saying what you want about the democrats and there's plenty to criticize about centrists standing in the way of major legislation but at least the progressives in the party like budget committee chairman bernie sanders are trying to pass the three point five trillion dollar package that would among other things established universal pre k. program and new childcare benefit for working families extend the and the child tax credit the earned income tax credit and child independent care tax credit create the first federal paid and medical leave benefit at dental vision hearing benefits to medicare and make investments aiming to meet biden's goal of reducing economy-wide carbon emissions by fifty percent and in defense of the bill bernie is deployed some of his trademark sarcasm. No you understand that. Senator mcconnell the republican lead up and others a really shocked by bill. They cannot believe it. Imagine just imagine that the united states senate is addressing the needs of working families and was going to stand up for ordinary americans rather than just the wealthy and powerful. What is this world coming to. Don't we understand that here in the senate was supposed to take campaign. Contributions of the drug companies and the insurance companies and the fossil fuel industry and from the one percent and do their bidding is not the way it has always been done here in the us. Well senator mcconnell things are changing. I like the bernie takes on the right the same way he takes on a waiter who brings him soup but no spoon. Oh this is fantastic soup without a spoon. Maybe i'll just use my faulk famously. Designed for use with liquids. Or maybe you'll be good enough to bring me one of those wide. Mcdonald's straws so i don't get myself an aneurysm trying to get the chicken chunks up so the left is focused on trying to pass a far reaching bill that would transform childcare expand the social safety net and tackle climate change among other things. And what's the maga crowd doing. And they're offering any alternative solutions or are they asking. Eric trump about nikki massages cousins friends. Swollen balls we saw what happened to nikki manashe this week. She's facing backlash for tweeting to her. Twenty two million followers that a friend of her cousin had issues with the vaccine. And now she. They're trying to cancel her. Well that's exactly right. They'll try and cancel everybody. I mean i've lived cancelled culture. Probably better than any person in the world and if you speak out against them if you disagree with them they cancel you. They try arrest you they try in prosecute you. It's amazing kind of the unjustice. In this country in america was always this country that stood for equal weights of justice on both sides. I mean it's a national symbol of ours the scales of justice. We don't have that anymore. It reminds me of a banana republic. Maria really does first of all you do is the scales of justice are not equal weight. Some both sides the whole point. Is that the evidence on one side outweighs the evidence on the other. That's why court cases never end in ties. also who say. Nicki minaj cancelled. I mean i disagree with her on. Vaccines and i think spreading misinformation is dangerous. But she's still an amazing artist and if her next song rhymed vacs sacks and biden. Call me back. I'd be happy than anyone. It's also great when the same people who scream. Fake news treated nikki. Moniz tweet about her cousins friends balls like it's unimpeachable information. She just tweeted a room. She heard that obviously wasn't true. She's not reporting. Live outside of hospital on cnn. Data ballwatched we go. Now live to nicki manashe. Also something reminds. Eric trump of a banana republic. It's probably referring to a time. He thinks he was treated rudely at the store. Berea this whole thing reminds me of being told. I could only bring seven items into the dressing room at one time to which i said. Maybe we should have a smaller collection of chino's but that isn't even the weirdest topic of conversation. Maria bartiromo entertained on her show this weekend in the same our she also has ted cruz about a conspiracy theory that the white house has been cutting off. Joe biden's microphone which has already been debunked by fact checkers as well as reality in crews went along with it. President biden's microphone. Apparently looked like it was cut off at one point This past week. Do you believe he's making these decisions on afghanistan and these leadership misteps. Well i would say it's a disturbing pattern where it seems. They cut off his microphone. Anytime you might say. Something that has handlers. Don't want there's no doubt that that president biden's capacity is severely diminished and his white house handlers. Amplify that impression when they keep them keep him locked up in a basement all day long. You know they've tried this basement line in the campaign and it didn't work probably because it wasn't true and even if it was after four years of trump voters are thinking abasement president doesn't sound that bad. They're also probably super bummed that if a mute button exists they didn't use it for trump gonna use during that boy scout speech but apparently this mike kathleen button theory repeatedly debunked as a thing in right wing circles so much so good. It's been repeated on fox news and even in an official hearing of the united states. Senate i don't know. Is somebody telling him that. He can't continue in our they to the point where they're controlling. When he has to end his speaking has he thought or read anything that people are writing about him and how they cut off his microphone rather than ask questions somebody in the white house authority to press the button and stop. The president cut off the president's speaking ability and sound. Who is that person. I think anyone who knows. The president including members of this committee knows that he speaks very clearly and very deliberately for himself. No one else does. Are you saying that. There's no one in the white house that can cut him off because yesterday that happened. It's happened the number of times before it's been widely reported that somebody has the ability to push the button and cut off his sound and stop them from speaking. Who is that person varies. There is no such person. Are you telling this committee that this does not happen that. There's no one in the white house who pushes the button in cuts him off in mid sentence. That's correct first of all if a but like that exist in shoemaker would have it for me because he is a power hungry.

"But it's a significant number of day. Is it really possible that you could have a conspiracy so vast and so deep. Do you ever hear so from think that it sounds ridiculous. I know i know myself very well. I've been in me a long time. I know my reputation. I know my level of integrity. Okay so sydney powell has this deep and enduring conviction what about fox journalists and present his more generally were you able to get a sense of the extent to which they themselves believe in the big lie. It's hard not to arrive at a conclusion. There is deep deep cynicism now when they have to defend themselves they say pundits they're not journalists their opinion and in fact their defenses is like this that what they're saying is colorful and it's hyperbole and they don't think that people believe them. Now i think this is. This is where we get into really serious territory. Because i think this is deeply dishonest. And it it misunderstands the relationship between those people and their audience. They may understand that. There's a kind of show biz element but nonetheless. The audience understands that these people are telling them things that matter and that has been cleared from some of the defendants in january. The six that they think fox news was part of what made them go there. The attorney for an alleged writer named anthony antonio's that his client had watched fox news for months before the six insurrection and developed a unique condition that led him to believe the lies about the twenty twenty election. He had heard fox artists or fox mania and started believing what was being fed to him. Imagine believing things you hear from channel that purports to provide news. In fact. I think there are sort of two questions that i still have hearing to all of this reporting that. You've done sarah and those questions are you know. Where does this big audience. He believes in the stolen election. Lie go from here and a related question is what does this all main for the next election and for america more. Broadly going forward so one of the things we did. Well we will making. This program was to go to ohio and watch trump at his first rally since Since biden became president ladies and gentlemen please welcome the forty fifth president of the united states of america. What's happened here. And i think this is certainly the case in australia. That the news networks thinking hard about the role. They played in amplifying trump when he was president. You know the kind of crazy role that everybody was on full of those years What trump said today and so a lot of the media is downplaying its coverage of trump's so off we go to ohio even fox isn't taking his rallies live now but what you saw was thousands and thousands of people chanting for the incredible turnout supporting trying to get rid of republican congressman who had decided to impeach him vitriolic nasty speech that trump gave and the rally was extraordinary. There was darkness to it. That was really quite. I'll have to say really was quite frightening. You know by the end of the day. I think we were. We were exhausted in away by the grimness of what we had witnessed as much as spending a day out in the sun on the riser. These are truly dark days and let's there's no hyperbole in that what what we saw in that field on ohio was disturbing. The twenty twenty presidential election was rigged. We won the election in a landslide. The election was the lie. That was the big lie you know. They talk about the big live. We all saw those extraordinary scenes and the capital in january this year. I didn't understand until i started digging into this faulk story. How much that period. After the election and the way the news media in this case fox news pushed. Trump's big lie was connected and part of what happened on january. The six so this is where you see a straight line between a news organization behaving in an extraordinarily irresponsible way by allowing the statements of particularly rudolph. Giuliani sydney powell. Giuliani pushed this story. For forty days with the help of fox. They were made to stop by legal threats from the companies. They were attacking saying they were part of the fraud. They stopped but it was too late because the idea is that they had pushed into the american public into homes across america. Taken a deep root and just a short while after that the outrage at the capitol happened fox. News played a role in january. The six they won't be held to account for that in the investigations that are going on in the capital. And i think it brings us all to the point of the responsibility of the media in a time when truth is such a premium. There are so few shared truths. What the new york times used to call. Zone of inclusion has been destroyed. There are very few places that we share together in terms of information. What happened in. America usually comes to australia sometime. Sooner or later we need to watch out.

"On the fox news audience. The first thing that happened after the election because trump was furious he was tweeting to his eighty plus million followers that something had gone wrong that arizona had been badly called at fox down the wrong thing that killed the goose that laid the golden egg. I think he's the phrase he used and what happens is the viewers leave in droves. And they go to the more fringe new networks. These small start up more right wing more further much further to the right than fox news. Maximilian and there is consternation inside fox because the ratings are under attack this is a strange sort of interregnum period. And what happens. Is that three of the key. Anchors at fox in particular janine pirro lou dobbs has been around for about a thousand years had sort of become trump's economic advisor during the trump presidency. Sean hannity us to speak to him every single night. Virtually after he got off air will these. Three anchors in particular decided to go all in they want to get trump on the program when they start pushing the big lie he's appearing more frequently he's contributing to the program he's phoning in more and so they go health another for the big lie and then it really starts going nuts and in terms of the big lie is any of the evidence cited in support of an even remotely true. How do you build this argument around. What appears to be falsehood. It's such a good simple question and looking at it with the eye of a straightforward australian. You you see this because even after spending weeks looking at this sometimes have moments where i am scratching my head. So what they did was they started in with. Two companies that provide voting technologies so new electronic means of voting and their says one of the guests who began regularly appearing on fox to espouse. These outlandish claims about these companies was the k. Trump ally and former new york city met rudy giuliani and the company. Counting is not dominion. it's smart matic. Which is a company that was founded in two thousand five in venezuela for the specific purpose of fixing elections expertise. How to fix election because people are afraid of what happens on the internet and they think everything can be stolen. This was very fertile ground. So they started saying that these two companies they work together. They were part of a communist conspiracy. It was cuba venezuela. It was china. It was soros. And one of the people who was involved was an adherent of the planet of as guardia and at that point kind of lost my mind it sort of comic except that it wasn't because across america in homes across america. These ideas were taking hold and on fox with these anchors who they trust who. They've seen talking to the president. The anchors are either endorsing what they're saying they're saying. Oh wow at the end of segments not well. Let's just test what you're saying. There there are ways of having people on saying crazy things and testing them. What you guys to all the time or you just let people let it go whistle past and say. Oh wow which is. What one of the maria butter romo did mr president. You've said many times that this election was rigged that there was much fraud and the facts are on your side. Let's start there. We had glitches where they move thousands of votes from my account to biden's account and these glitches so they're not glitches there theft their fraud. Absolute fraud right. So essentially what. Sarah is saying is that fox would give an incredibly easy ride to donald trump and to rudy giuliani. Who would basically be invited to come onto the network and push this idea of stolen votes and rigged voting machines. Yeah and another of the people pushing this kind of argument especially against the companies that developed the machines. It was lois. Sydney powell sarah says. Gop on fox a loss for example he talking to the fox host. Lou dobbs you say these four individuals led the effort to rig this election. How did they do it. Well lou they designed and developed the smart matic and dominion programs and machines that included a controller module that allows people to log in and manipulate the vote. Even as it's happening the main problem with that. As the company's lawyer eric connolly explained to sarah is that of all the thousands of counties across the us smart medic was used in just one the only state that they participated in the twenty twenty election was california and los angeles county specifically nowhere else. And how easy would it have been to establish that as a fact you know. I'm not an expert on google. Lean but i think it takes about thirty seconds to google that it really did go from. Smart maddock was founded by hugo chavez. They are funded by corrupt dictators. They inspired to regular election. They own dominion or they control dominion their softwares used by dominion their equipment is used to rig elections. It's always been used to rig elections. They send votes overseas. They have back doors that allow security breaches. That's where evolved into and none of that is factually accurate okay. And that's unsurprisingly. Given all of that smart medic has since launched a multi-billion dollar lawsuit against fox news and the trump lawyers rudy giuliani and sydney pow and sarah went and interviewed sydney powell as part of our investigation. Does she still believe that. Smart medic had a role in stealing the election as she would put it. She appears to. It's a good question and a half to say. I think the answer is yes. Let's get a few simple facts straight. In how many states were smart. Matic machines and software used in the twenty twenty election. I don't even know the exact numbers you accept the fact now that the company that you accused of stealing a national election only operated in one county in la in california one county one state. No i'm not prepared to accept that fact i think smart maddix involvement was far more significant than that too. I think they're trying to minimize their involvement. Of course do what you're describing is a massive country-wide fraud involving the fbi the doj the department of homeland security the organizations who certify elections and on and on all the way up to the attorney general and thousands of local election officials. Are you saying that. Thousands of americans participated in a fraud. I am saying that. Thousands of americans had some role in it knowingly or unknowingly it is extremely concerning why it is so difficult to get anyone to do anything about it and assad from that you must understand that there are trillions of dollars of global wealth at stake here the control and power of the largest best country on the face of the earth the united states of america it was essentially a bloodless coup where they took over the presidency of the united states without a single shot being fired. Who's dane that sentence i. I don't know who they are. I would really like to know the answer to that..

"Now that investigation. That sarah is talking about is actually a two parter and the first episode aired last week on four corners with the second one going to wear on. Abc tv tonight at eight. Thirty and up later on i view. Yeah and today. We're mostly focusing on sarah's second episode but just for context it's important to know that that first one explored how one k. Departure at fox news in two thousand sixteen seemed to change how the network covered politics and donald trump in particular right so this was the departure in disgrace amid sexual harassment allegations of the former fox news chairman and ceo roger ailes. Sarah says it was an important moment. In the history of fox news especially for key fox news commentators including the talk show host and close confidante of donald trump. Sean hannity in spite of all of the controversy which we looked at in the first episode in relation to his sexual predation roy drills was also according to all of the people we spoke to and this is widely held view in the. Us media was also a news and programming genius and when he was moved. Out by the murdoch's rupert murdoch actually took over the took over fox news and took over roger ailes position. And what happened to that point it. It coincided extraordinarily with the moment that donald trump took the nomination for the republican party. So call it. A greek tragedy at shakespeare in. It's all of those things and more at that very moment. You've got a bunch of fox executive sitting in a conference room crappy conference room at the convention where trump is going to take the nomination and they hear the news. That roger ailes has sacked all at chris star walt. Who is the political editor of fox. News tell us how that happened. Right in the middle of that that roger gets detonated once roger did himself in standards for conduct for the opinion hosts went way down right we would have never been in a place where sean hannity could appear onstage at a rally with donald trump. I have a few people that are right out here. And they're very special. They've done an incredible job for us. I'm going to start by saying sean hannity. Come on up sean. How the company went through a rebranding several months later and we were stunned to see that the phrase fair and balanced which had been our core had been removed. It is an extraordinary moment to pivot because james murdoch the more liberal member of the of the modal family had the idea that he could push fox news back towards the center. Right to be a a more modern voice of conservatism younger voice of conservatism. In america still the incredibly successful business that it was still this huge revenue generator but a more moderate version of fox news will. It didn't want that. He decided that he would take over from drills and there is trump and at that moment fox realizes that they're this pile of gold that That the fox the fox station represents for them really depends on their support for trump and trump brought them an audience. A devoted audience and fox decided to go all in with trump and every one of the insiders that we spoke to described their consternation watching the network that they had worked at for some time Become if you like the propaganda arm of donald trump's operation. Let's listen to ralph. Peters ralph peters was a strategic analyst on fox for for a long times of full member of the us military. He doesn't mince his words. In the decade that i was at fox it changed profoundly and i went from being a conservative voice if sometimes unruly one to be a propaganda organ for donald trump what you saw Fox becoming was ethically and morally corrupt. Enterprise united states of america gave rupert murdoch a great deal and he repaid by doing a great deal for now. Sarah says as trump presidency played out this relationship between fox and donald trump which started back during the election campaign in two thousand sixteen continued. And sarah says it was pretty cozy one right through donald trump's term in fact in august of twenty twenty so few months before the election james moto resigned from the board of news corporation citing disagreements over certain editorial content published by the company's news outlets and what james referred to as certain other strategic decisions. Yeah but on election not itself on fox. Sarah says something strange tonight. America decides so you mentioned the evening has begun and remember that trump has laid down the predicate very clearly for the possibility of this being a stolen election. He can see the numbers and there's a chance in the lead up that he's going to lose so he has been building. This idea that the election is going to be stolen particularly through the use of mail in ballots which were introduced to deal with the voting during corona virus on the night. He does quite well to begin with. He wins florida which some there was some suggestion that he might have lost. Florida said the champagne. Corks are popping inside the white house. But meanwhile something else is going on behind the scenes and fox's getting ready to announce arizona and the extraordinary thing about this is that rupert murdoch had actually invested in brand new data analysis to give foxy edge on all its competitive so they had their antony green and they were going to win the night by being first with the calls and in fact they were first with this very important call. But what is this happening. Here why is arizona blue. We just call it did. Our decision does make it arizona. Eleven electoral votes can can okay. That's the case thing. Okay time out. This is a big veld. Faulkner's decision desk is calling arizona for joe biden set off a furious reaction inside the trump white house. So trump tells everybody with him in the white house that night. Everyone of any significance to get on the blower to fox to someone they know at fox including jared kushner calling rupert murdoch and try and get the call reversed and there is also consternation at fox because despite the fact that they've put all this money into it and they wanted to make this the winning election performance and indeed fox did win the ratings that night. There is consternation inside fox because they've done this so confidently. They have stopped the narrative that trump can win from that point with fox making the call. It's almost impossible for trump to win. So whatever efforts that he had on foot to keep the election result open later into the evening. This foils it. So it means that. Trump's narrative that election has been stolen has been dealt a terrible blow by the network that he thinks owes him everything. Okay now as you might remember the time after election not in two thousand twenty is where things in the. Us really started to hate up. There were several days where the overall election result remained too close to call and then once it was cold. Four joe biden there weeks of debates and claims that the whole thing was wreaked right and sarah says the fact. That fox had such a k. Rolled apply on election. Night had a.

"So i guess this makes it. Official folks tucker. Carlson is a fox news hypocrite. It turns out that fox news actually has vaccine passportprogram at their workplace. The same kind of program that tucker carlson rails against almost nightly so. Here's a picture of it. Take this so you talk about a vaccine passport. This by definition is a vaccine passport policy. Because if you don't want to wear a mask you have to upload your vaccination card into what they call their workday system. Whatever that is it's sort of like an hr system. If you don't wanna wear a mask you have to upload your vaccination status so why are on the air nightly in. it's not just tucker carlson. It's laura ingram as well as tucker carlson on the air every night railing against so-called vaccine passports they're hypocrites that's why they're hypocrites. It's good for ratings. That's why they do it. It's more fun to resist. Isn't it then to comply with the policy that ninety nine point nine percent of doctors say you should do and that's get vaccinated. It's more fun to say. No i'm not gonna do that. It gets ratings it makes them money and tucker almost nightly he rants against vaccine passports the same ones. That fox news is using any compares them to jim crow laws of segregation of all things. But that's what they do at fox news folks why won't tucker say whether or not he's been vaccinated. What's the big secret about this. What's the big secret. i'd. I'd bet anything folks that tucker carlson has been vaccinated. He'd be foolish not to be right and he can't even tell us whether or not he's been vaccinated because it would expose them as a hypocrite. A further hypocrite. Is it just too personal to share that information. Why all the secrecy. It's no big deal. It shouldn't be a big secret but he makes it a big secret will for one. He'd probably doesn't wanna lie about it and it would make them look like a hypocrite but just think of all the good he could do if you shared whether or not he's been vaccinated and if he has been vaccinated how it would inspire others to get the shot and just think how many lives he could save. I mean if if he's a religious man he's been vaccinated and can't share that information with others because it's more important to have good ratings. It's more important to have the money flowing in than that's criminal. That's criminal folks. It's not just hypocritical. Which is more important to you tucker money or saving lives..
