Jen Psaki Shrugs off Crime Concerns as Part of ‘Alternate Universe’

"Yeah, when they're pee, says the first year of the Biden administration was extraordinary. I'd agree with that. Although I suspect we have a different interpretation of extraordinary. But extraordinary is one way to put it. Yesterday, press secretary laughing off the concerns that 83% of Americans have, according to a recent poll that crime is the first and foremost problem in America's communities. And Psaki shrugs this off as Fox being in an alternate universe. She was on a podcast explaining that she's got the four screens on her wall. The cable news networks. I guess that would be Fox News, MSNBC, CNN, and what was the fourth maybe MSN or CNBC, I guess? So those are the four cable news networks that real image really for news and breaking news and opinion is just Fox MSNBC. And CNN, things are so bad incidentally over at MSNBC that their top rated show host is taking a sabbatical

"Then that might get exciting. How do you think Bitcoin changes the role of government as well? Do you think it forces it to become smaller and more service based? I'm not sure. Yeah. Government is what government is. I mean, it's a hard problem to break. One of the best Twitter accounts I have to give is rusty Russell. I love rusty. Love rusty. He has that Twitter account. I know. Yeah. Yeah, he's retweeting me once. Bitcoin faces this, they're wearing mocks. And he's right. He's so right. Bitcoin doesn't solve all these problems. We have to have a bit of humility in some of this. Anyway, he makes me laugh. He's a great person. There will be other ways to solve these problems. It's not just Bitcoin. But I think Bitcoin could be a great tool. And I think politicians who align themselves with Bitcoin, who are focused on getting money out of politics, they actually can get funded by an economic engine that's honest and transparent because Bitcoin has that kind of economic engine. I think you can create different kind of candidates, different type of people that emerge and actually have a lot of support from people. Going back to the vulnerable world hypothesis, I feel like we've done a good job why I say you've done a good job of highlighting the risks. I still don't feel like I know enough about the potential solutions. One storytelling to some centralized control over the access to these technologies harm reduction on reduction around things like drug addiction, various things we can do to reduce the threat profile. I think there's more that needs to be done for creating harmony between individuals and the states because we seem to be living in a very tense world at the moment. We have a lot of disharmony, especially here in the U.S., but also a geopolitical level. So definitely media media and information education awareness training needs to start becoming a basic basic requirement in Kate through 12. Teaching people how to understand how media lies how misinformation works, how mass media works the breakdown of Fox MSNBC left right the entire news media system, how broken it is, how to learn how to research, trusted sources, how to learn how to verify whether or not you believe something, how to verify facts in the scientific method or Wikipedia. Who to trust and who not to trust? That should be basic kindergartner training that is being done all across the nation. Because it's going to equip our kids and our parents and we should frankly be doing adult re-education.

The author of White Rage on the persistent pattern of punishing blacks for their resilience

"Professor Carol Anderson Thank, you so much for coming on the PODCAST. Thank you so much for having me Jonathan, thank you? Okay so your your book, White Rage the unspoken truth of our racial divide. Came out of. An op Ed that you wrote for the. Washington Post in August of twenty fourteen in it was trying to explain to to people but white people in particular why the why Ferguson and the protests in Ferguson were about a whole lot more than the killing of Michael Brown explain, and and so that that op-ed really came out a watching the news in the did matter which channel I. Had you know which station whether it was FOX MSNBC CNN? They were all saying the same thing. Look at all this black rage looking all of these folks bird down where they live with that. That kind of Narrative A. Lack pathology piece running in there well I have lived in Missouri for thirteen years. I knew what that state had done to black people, and that was nowhere in that that media narrative of Ferguson, so I set up to ripeness fees to put that historical perspective in there. And to make clear that. Would have said in the piece. We are so focused in on the planes that we missed the kindling. Kindling owner, those policies that systematically undermine African American. Citizenship rights their human rights. And those policies often come in a nasty way. With African Americans have made some kind of significant advancement in order to gain their citizenship rights. And Bass what we were seeing so I set out to provide that hysteria historical context with also to make clear that if we look at the policies. That are coming out of White House and Congress out of state legislatures. Out of zoning boards. The. We're having a very different kind of conversation about what is happening. Whom you're? Key paragraph in that OP ED is white rage, and you mentioned white way rage recurs in American history. It exploded after the civil war erupted again to undermine the Supreme Court's Brown v Board of Education Decision and took on its latest incarnation with Barack Obama's sent to the White House for every action of African American advancement, there's a reaction a backlash, and to read that and and I want to really get you to dive in to the more expansive argument in your book, but what I took from from just that paragraph and especially the last that last sentence I read. Is that what we're going through? Even though it is painful, horrendous horrific. In, a lot of ways. dispiriting. We've been here before. We've been through this cycle before. Yes I, and and it's the. It's one of the things that just is astounding. Amazing given that you've got a nation that seems to wallow in the language of black pathology, if only black people were. Value Education then their schools would look like that. If only black people would not be folks and we wouldn't have had the police all over them. If only black people valued property, they couldn't have nice homes in only black people if Lately if only black people were just exercise that maybe the corona virus would get them so. So you get this language of black people, just not doing. But in fact when you look at the history, you see such incredible drives, such incredible resilience, such incredible creativity. That that amassing that creativity that refusal to accept subjugation. Creates this. Anger Within the larger white community that black people will not accept, subjugation would not accept bear place. And what you see happening them. Is that as these moments happen? You get this massive. Massive backlash, I'll take Brown Brown decision alone. We Harold Brown. Because of the way that it it drove is supposedly drove a stake through the heart of Plessey Ferguson is separate but equal. After Brown, you have states that have already been organizing to figure out how to undercut the Supreme Court decision, which would be the law of the land, so law-abiding for nigger now how to undercut. Below Lane. and. They came up with massive resistance where you have one hundred one Congressional representatives signing manifesto. Saying only do everything in their power. To to dismantle to block. The Brown decision you have schools. Shutting down for years, and what these registers do. They shut down the public schools. And provided in funding for white. Children to go to school. But nothing for black children. Those white children were going to all white private academies. Think about that, so you get black people fighting for quality education. And the states rising up saying we will systematically deny your children that education, so that narrative of black with. This false.

"Seven seven three eight one eight one America. I am Mark Levin. I want to thank my buddy, Ben Ferguson fulfilling, and he's terrific, isn't he? Well, just explaining what took place I got a call not this Sunday last Sunday night. That the home. My parents had was flooding because of pipe blue. So I had to call a buddy and some others to turn off the water. Then I flew down there Monday morning, and I've been doing my radio and TV shows from there. Then I needed to come back to where. Absolutely no flights on Sunday. None. That is no seats on any flights. There were no flights this morning. I had to pay some exorbitant amount to get on a flight to something to get in here. And I wanna apologize to you. But that's what took place, but I didn't wanna leave you for the entire day. There's too much going on. I am very very much committed to you. In this business. And let's jump in now. The watching the news I've been reading the news looks like CNN has an obsession. CNN is a cesspool. A frauds and phonies. I take a look at this picture of Jess Jeff Zucker who's the head of CNN. He used to work in NBC. This is one freakish. Looking dude. And he's your typical knee-jerk liberal who has control over a cable channel. And folks, you should know. It's FOX MSNBC and CNN is a distant third CNN's ratings are better than they've ever been under the Trump presidency. I should say in the past several years, but they are in the toilet. Nonetheless. It's not even an also ran its and also also ran. It's far behind I mess NBC, which is rotten enough. But at least these guys on MSNBC, they'll tell you what they are. As I keep saying about CNN. You can't tell the news from the opinion there. You can. On fox. It's getting better in that regard MSNBC it is non-existent on CNN. And I'll give you some examples. You've got a fat little slob there by the name of Brian Stelter? He's a dishonest hack I've dealt with them. He's out of control. But he does exactly what Zucker tells them the Dewey suckers lapdog. Any spends almost all of his airtime. Trashing fox. They have Allison Colorado who failed at FOX now. She's at CNN spends almost Oliver time trashing, FOX. I would mention some of the morning hosts and afternoon knows. But I don't know who the hell they are because nobody watches her. They do the same thing in the evenings. They do the same thing at prime time with Don lemon and Chris Cuomo notice you don't read stories about how Don lemon and Chris Cuomo at their primetime lineup is all the time attacking Trump all the time attacking conservatives all the time race bay. Where those stores nowhere. Nowhere. So they've gone after Hannity they've go after the executives over there. And now they're going after and I'll name the two Tucker Carlson. And judge judge Janine. Pirot? Now, what CNN did because CNN doesn't do actual investigative work. They got hand fed information for media matters against America. Media matters is believe it or not a tax exempt nonprofit, nonpartisan organization under the internal revenue code how this criminal front group gets away with this. I will never know. But they are funded by the left for the purpose of destroying non radical left media. Whether it's talk radio hosts, well, that's FOX or FOX house. This is what they do every single day. So they go back, and they get some of the audio of Carlson's interview with a with a provocative program neighboring it up several several years later, and they look at this as a massage, and it's look at this. Now, they don't have a problem with real misogynists. Real misogynous in media. Some of them have had to go away. But I'll bet there's a whole bunch though there. I'll bet they're still at CNN and MSNBC. I'll bet they're stalled the New York slimes in the Washington compost. You don't hear about CHA Charlie rose anymore. You don't hear about Matt Lauer anymore? You don't hear about the people who used to sit? In front of these cameras at CNN and MSNBC who got the hook because they were sexually harassing molesting women. What about FOX? Fox's dirty laundry is out there. What about CNN's dirty laundry? What about MSNBC NBC ABC CBS? But they're furious with Tucker Carlson why? Because he's a damn good show. And he's rating very, well and CNN is trying to knock them out. And they can't knock him out based on competition. They can't knock them out based on substance. Look, there's only so many. Patients in our mental institutions are prepared to watch CNN. And as I've said over and over again, they have a monopoly on our airports through the air. It's all CNN why? Because I have a contract with CNN. They have a contract with CNN. So Tucker is supposed to resign or what he supposed to stop speaking. What? Meanwhile over there and MSNBC they have joy Reed. Did anybody at CNN spend time on joy Reid and demand that she resigned, they have Al Sharpton over that this guy doesn't just talk the talk. He walks the talk. He's a race baiter. He's a Jew baiter. "Seven seven three eight one eight one America. I am. Mark levin. I want to thank my buddy. Ben, Ferguson Fillion. He's terrific. Isn't he? Well, just explaining what took place I got a call not this Sunday last Sunday night. That the home. My parents had was flooding because the pipe blue. But that's what took place, but I didn't want to leave you for the entire day. There's too much going on. I am very very much committed to you. In this business. And let's jump in now. Than watching the news. I've been reading the news looks like CNN has an obsession. CNN is a cesspool. Frauds and phonies. I take a look at this picture of Jess Jeff Zucker who's the head of CNN. He used to work in NBC. This is one freakish. Looking dude. Any your typical knee-jerk liberal who has control over cable channel? And folks, you should know it's FOX MSNBC and CNN is a distant third. CNN's ratings are better than they've ever been under the Trump presidency. I should say in the past several years, but they are in the toilet. Nonetheless. It's not even also rats and also also ran. It's far behind MSNBC, which is rotten enough. But at least these guys on MSNBC, they'll tell you what they are. As I keep saying about CNN. You can't tell the news from the opinion there. You can. On fox. It's getting better in that regard at MSNBC. It is non-existent on CNN. And I'll give you some examples. You've got a fat little slob there by the name of Brian Stelter? He's a dishonest hack I've dealt with them. He's out of control. But he does exactly what sucker tells them the Dewey suckers lapdog. Any spends almost all of his airtime. Trashing fox. They have Allison Colorado who failed at FOX now. She's at CNN spends almost all time trashing, FOX. I would mention some of the morning hosts that afternoon house, but I don't know who the hell they are because nobody watches them. They do the same thing in the evenings. They do the same thing at prime time with Don lemon and Chris Cuomo notice you don't read stories about how Don lemon and Chris Cuomo and their primetime lineup is all the time attacking Trump all the time attacking conservatives all the time race bay. Where are those stores? Nowhere. Nowhere. So they've gone after Hannity they've go after the executives over there. And now they're going after an all name the two Tucker Carlson. And judge judge Janine Pirro. Now, what CNN did because CNN doesn't do actual investigative work. They got hand fed information for media matters against America. Media matters is believe it or not a tax exempt nonprofit, nonpartisan organization under the internal revenue code how this criminal front group gets away with this. I will never know. But they are funded by the left for the purpose of destroying non-radical left media. Whether it's talk radio hosts, well, that's FOX are FOX. This is what they do every single day. So they go back, and they get some of the audio of Carlson's interview with a with a provocative program. They bring it up several several years later, and they look at this as a massage and look at this. Now, they don't have a problem with real misogynists. Real misogynous in media. Some of them have had to go away. But I'll bet there's a whole bunch though there. I'll bet they're stole at CNN and MSNBC. I'll bet. The New York slimes in the Washington compost. You don't hear about CHA Charlie rose anymore. You don't hear about Matt Lauer anymore? You don't hear about the people who used to sick? In front of these cameras at CNN and MSNBC who got the hook because they were sexually harassing molesting women. What about FOX? Fox's dirty laundry is out there. But what about CNN's dirty laundry? What about MSNBC NBC ABC CBS? But they're furious. Tucker Carlson why? Because he's a damn good show. And he's writing very, well and CNN is trying to knock them out. And they can't knock him out based on competition. They can't knock him out based on substance. Look, there's only so many. Patients in our mental institutions who are prepared to watch CNN. And as I've said over and over again, they have a monopoly on our airports goes through the CNN why because I have a contract with CNN. A contract with CNN. So Tucker is supposed to resign or what he said post to stop speaking. What? Meanwhile over there and MSNBC they have joy Reed. Did anybody at CNN spend time on joy Reid and demand that she resigned Al Sharpton over there, this guy doesn't just talk the talk he walks the talk. He's a race baiter. He's a Jew baiter. MSNBC hires him. I wonder if Zuckerberg hired him when he was working at NBC toss incestuous, but let's go back to CNN. I want you folks to Google the name Jeffrey Toobin the legal analyst over there. Pretend you're media matters. "Ritual with me Garrett Lewis, Kansas T AM seven hundred Tucson's. Most stimulating talk three things. I think you need to know number one is the fact that the White House, President Trump invited Republicans and Democrats to the White House to get a briefing on border security, Democrats, finally accepted, Chuck and go there, and they go to the situation room and when cures to Neal's the homeland security secretary is about to speak to give stats about what's happening at the border. Chuck Schumer interrupt, sir and keeps interrupting again, and again, and again, you'd want to hear anything she had to say. Nothing at all. And the Republicans are missing the boat. This is clear evidence that the Democrats do not care about border security, but that is not coming from Trump's mouth or any of the Republicans mouth. It's pathetic. Second thing that I think you need to know is the fact that Democrats do not want to pay for any border security that includes a wall, but they want to keep the government to get there and back open and the Bill they have introduced doesn't give any money to building a wall. The building introduced to to open up the government again to fund it doesn't include a penny to build the wall. But it does include money for taxpayers to fund abortion. Yup. That's what they are trying to do. Third thing. I think you need to know state rep here in Arizona, Mark Finchem for moral valley. We're gonna get him on Tuesday morning at seven ten because he's not available right now. Let's talk about this. He has a Bill that actually would get teachers fired. Let me is going to happen. When you get more detail miss, but we could actually allow teachers to be fired if they talk about politics or controversial subjects in class. I'm not a prude, but this is all based on teachers trying to brainwash their students that red for Ed was a good movement, and they should support it, and blah, blah, blah, and parents got mad. He's trying to do something about it. And now Finchem is being attacked and called the Nazi word. He actually sent me emails. He showed me each semi screen shots. She has apparently he is being called a Nazi for this by people that don't like it. And that just nice. That's what the Nazis did three things. I think you need to know again, he'll be on the show Tuesday morning at seven ten because he's he's out of town right now. Now, we have a lot to get to our I want you to hear. I want you to hear. It is what is so Tim Ryan is sitting in DC Capitol Hill. He's talking with hallie Jackson and Halley Jackson said so Pelosi seems to have some optimism there about this shutdown negotiation, but you achieve make clear Democrats not want to give money for a wall. If you have that position. Do you understand why some Democrats will see this as is their fault because they don't wanna give money for the wall? I mean, that's what it comes down to. And Tim Ryan responded like this. Well, there are also Republicans in border states.

"I mean, full disclosure MSNBC contributor. But I also know I've never in my life. Had somebody say something had had a liberal on MSNBC say something when the cameras are on. And then say something else when they're off. I have had that experience being on TV shows with conservatives. We'll sort of talk about talk very contemptuously about Trump, and then defend him the second the commercial break is over. And you kind of you don't need to listen to somebody like that arguing with them is just sort of playacting. It's just kabuki theatre. So I think the difference between MSNBC and FOX MSNBC the people who work at MSNBC. They're certainly frustrated that they can't cover certain issues like, you know, my friend, Chris Hayes. We'll talk about frustration that he can't do more coverage of immigration that he can't do more coverage of climate change. But the stuff he covers. He does genuinely believed that he is giving you the most accurate picture of the world is kind of he sees it. Whereas I don't think there's any equivalency to say Fox News, which is trying to convince you that Seth rich was murdered because he was the one who gave. The hacked DNC emails to Julian Assange, and that it really had nothing to do with the Russians. I can't imagine anything on MSNBC equivalent to this recent scandal where it turned out that they were working that Fox News was working hand in hand with Scott Pruitt too. To kind of let him pre review scripts and let him preview review segments. And kind of there's there's MSNBC was never state TV for the Obama administration in the way that Fox News state TV for the Trump administration. And so. I don't see again, I feel like as long as I've said this Mike home before that. I think you know, we used to believe that politics was a battle of ideas. Right. And that if you wanted to kind of meaningfully engaged in politics, you sort of had to be somewhat conversant with the opposing body of ideas. Right. I mean, if you you had to kind of understand the thinking behind Neo conservatism, even if you wanted to oppose it just to be able to speak meaningfully about current affairs. And now, I think that what's changed is that the people who believe in ideas are aside in politics, and then there's another side that sees ideas in purely instrumental terms and sees its loyalties, and kind of purely ethnic terms, and is not really interested in argument, except as a tool of kind of confusion, and, you know, mass epistemological arrangement. I don't know what I don't know. What to do about that? I mean, I know that the social media allows it and makes it worse. And makes it worse. Not just here, but all over the world and needs to take more responsibility for that. I mean, it should certainly be taking more responsibility for spreading genocidal propaganda in countries where you can kind of dragged through direct line between people spreading kind of terrible. Rumors about out groups on Facebook. And then massacres happening. And so the problem to me is that what is the organization or the institution that has enough. And if broad legitimacy to step in and do it instead in place of the algorithms. I just I don't know what it is. You want to respond? Some the anti-trump right is is the post facts. The purely creek creature of the writer is an equal opportunity problem. I look I certainly don't believe that MSNBC and FOX are equivalent, and I don't believe that necessarily as a defensive FOX or as a defensive MSNBC. They are they are organized differently. I I've been a Fox News.

"Coming up after on her. She does his award-winning newscasts and five. Thirty. I will talk a little bit about play little segment of the Louis. CK audio. That's making a lot of news Louis CK trying to get his his standup act back on the road. He's working out some stuff. He's at a comedy club in Long Island called governor's comedy club in there a couple of times and does summer Reverend stuffed typical Louisa kissy K stuff. It gets into some bits about the parkland students, which got him more controversy more heat. So I'll get into all that coming up in just a little bit. So we were talking about staying on the Trump train in jumping off. And you're starting to hear from people who were like, Like, I said. I said the Ann Coulter wrote a book about and she just rip them a new one last week. Where is she? Now. She's still back is he back on the train or no she's still she's still on team Trump off team Trump. Well, I think from what I my understanding was the reason she'd like junked off was because he agreed to that one point five billion as opposed to the five billion for the wall. She's back on. And so now that he's I guess he apparently flipped after hearing her radio show, and then decided that he was going to dig in his heels, and and and go for the five Bill actually today, she's been tweeting at him pretty aggressively. Specifically, she mentioned with the press conference. He had today. Right. She says and I quote on her Twitter instead of explaining why we need a wall. Trump spent this entire press conference bashing Mattis, Iran, Romney, flake, etc. And then she very quickly linked out a piece that the hill wrote where an Coulter predicts Trump will fold on the wall demand, and she re tweeted that and said prove me wrong and added him. Has to be put a little pressure on the on the old man here when you get an end Coulter nagging at ya. What are you gonna do something? Right. That's pretty funny. Well, yeah. People that are on and are off. But you wonder how it's affecting some of these that works. Do you know that between the the dates December twenty sorry, December seventeen to twenty first that week? Any guesses who came in first place in the cable, news wars was it FOX MSNBC CNN? When was this December seventeenth for the twenty-first? I'll say FOX FOX first place, and then who would be second place. What do you think? CNN CNN and third place at MSNBC. You got it backwards. For the first time ever MSNBC beat FOX guarding kidding me. The hell between December seventeenth and the twenty first they had a total of one point five six million viewers FOX drew in one point five four million viewers than CNN is like way behind nine seventy five thousand viewers, but it's the first time that that's ever happened. MSNBC also reportedly scored the most viewers twenty five fifty four that's the big demo for advertisers on television for the first time two thousand one. Wow. What was it a Lawrence O'Donnell marathon? That the big numbers just reread the best of Lawrence O'Donnell and his men meltdowns. And then the best of Rachel Maddow. When she looks like she's about to like fall apart. That would get me to watch. Yeah. Maybe that's the best of or something. But yeah, it was it was pretty shocking to see that. So CNN hasn't really done themselves any favors. I mean, if there's if there is such a thing as credibility in television news, they don't have any of it though. And it's hard for me to even wrap my mind around the fact that between CNN and FOX FOX is actually the more balanced of the two is completely totally skewed of Trump. I mean, they're at war. Yeah. But that's just goes. It'd be the the they're like almost half a spigot ratings. I heard from the program director today that that WF deals ratings very good. We beat all the competition. I guess we'll.
