It makes sense. in that regard to shorten the regular season the n._f._l.'s never going here the n._f._l. anything they're going to lengthen major league baseball i think could shorten but if they do it would be by a week it would be ten days it would be to go back to one fifty four i think if you were building a league right now baseball would be in the vicinity of one hundred games in the vicinity the n._b._a. would be in the vicinity of fifty games if you're building it today but that's not the reality so the reality is can't get back money nobody gives back money you get a raise at work and then they say hey we're we want to take that back that's a bad deal that is a really bad deal the n._b._a. is not going to give back money so if you're short in the season then ticket prices have to go up i don't know how they can't you know if you take away if you shorten the home season by ten games twenty games off their schedule ten of those home games then your ticket price per game goes up i just think that that's part and parcel to the storyline but on the court i think what you're going to see this weekend is the shaping of what the next five years of the m._b._a. looks like this is a significant free agent market kevin durant not gonna play much next year if at all but he is on the market or is he klay thompson not gonna play next year much event all he's on the market or is he we're talking about coli leonard from toronto on the market or is he being the three three of the bigger names that are potentially available may not be available you know what i think is really interesting about quite heard someone talking about this is that the city of toronto is almost an essence like you never see you rarely see this much interaction to try to keep somebody there case day here whatever but toronto's like hey stay here you get to eat free hey stay here we're gonna hook you up with spot hey stay here like it seems like it's a huge l. use the term that i heard recruiting job with kawhi that you don't do you get that other places than the raptors drake drake talked about l. boards and stuff right the bill in the pastor drake talked about during this playoff run that toronto and jurassic park and everything there is got a college atmosphere this whole team season it's a college atmosphere right and that's unique in itself so when you look at collide where's he going to sign i saw something that some of the experts at e._s._p._n. said there's like a sixty six percent chance he goes or sixty six percent of the expert said he would stay with toronto and i'm thinking to myself how much of that is actually due to the atmosphere obviously a lot to the championship but to the atmosphere and to the embracement from fans with toronto with with kawai how much of that is actually going to help the raptors if they do in fact keep coalisland right so this isn't a nice thing oh no what what are you going to say don't you feel like toronto was a one year flash like there was a lightning bolt that just struck with the raptors not as far as having regular season success because they've had a long run of being very relevant in the regular season but don't you feel and get the sense that it was a miami marlins florida marlins lightening strike for postseason run that resulted in a trophy and rings for the toronto raptors you know here here's the thing yesterday no but but let me finish the thought let me expand upon this just a touch in the n._b._a. the teams that we remember are the teams that have had sustained success goal state is that the chicago bulls certainly with it we're that lakers celtics miami would lebron there without all of the titles that they thought they were getting the cleveland cavaliers while lebron was their sustained success i get the feel that toronto i don't think is going to stay if even if he does i don't know if toronto is the team to beat when you begin basketball again in late october when the n._b._a. gets underway i mean a lot of it is unknown right now because of where free agents are going to go but do you if you were going to install a favorite right now would toronto be your twenty nineteen twenty twenty n._b._a. favorite just go look at the the i s right you know they're not and i think for what you were saying before did they catch lightning in a bottle or or was it just kind of that type of one off for them i can see that because of the injuries that happen to golden state mainly with kevin durant not being part of that series basically and then klay thompson didn't play all the twelve minutes but you know so yes there is a little bit to that but at the same time at the same time you can't deny fifty eight wins sure it can't deny second most in the n._b._a. get in the regular season getting past the better team in that regular season wise in that conference milwaukee milwaukee bugs from conference finals after falling down to nothing sweeping the next four so imagine gazelle staying there if kawais days there how do they add the team i think they're still going to be a team that can make it back there john i have a problem right now that i need you to see if you can figure out now i'm going to give you the commercial break that's coming up oh don't quiz me i no no no no no i just want you to figure out what what don sent in on twitter because he asked this question on twitter at heller sports he said why are you allowing john to embarrass a great national show by being wrong what was i wrong no he didn't expand what so i need you to figure out what it was you are wrong about because we cannot embarrass the rich eisen show by allowing you to be wrong to be fair i probably was wrong about something so there's something to be said about that i need you to figure out i need you to figure out what it was that done says you're wrong about could you reply to don no no to say you're included in the tweet you replied what have we talked about the n._b._a. who talked about on this is all and this is something that i need you to figure i can't i wouldn't have said it no you can you can figure this out this is this is part of what you can figure out listen there two other storylines both in los angeles where baseball major league baseball is part of the conversation have you seen the the the to fans who have run out to a hug a certain player this week yes i have all right so part of the conversation there on fans running out to hug cody bellinger is are we okay does it need to be addressed is there a safety issue here that's a lighthearted view the other one far more significant the dodgers one of those teams that are extending netting and they're doing it now we radio shows around the country and on the national format including the rich eisen show have had the conversation there's a wrong side to the conversation and i've been on the wrong side of it a little bit but there's a wrong side to the conversation the dodgers are on the right side i want to explain a little bit about what i'm talking about here in a moment before we do what do you think of when you think about your bank sure it's where you keep your money but you probably think about minimums and fees to pretty typical capital one has reimagined banking by building something completely different.

I think from the drug cartels because I think I if you listened to hurt her not I went to rally that was here with Steve Bannon, and that's former sheriff David Clarke in an expert that works for Breitbart. It's been down the border for off and on for about ten years. And he says Mexico's completely controlled by five different drug cartels, and Ken my wingman. Ken. He's on hold right now. He personally went down to the border. So what a disaster at places Laura Ingram. She was down there for a couple of days and did a bunch of big stories. What a disaster this. But yeah, I guess the ninth circuit court ruled in Trump's favor, but they got to do something because you know, we're having hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people flooding the country Carl, and meanwhile, we got all these new diseases breaking out all over the place record measles in drugs flowing into the country. And this in my opinion, this is all from the experts. It's all reports donating anybody jump on me. But we gotta help a crisis down. There it Pelosi in her plan. They tried to claim some manufactured crisis. That's true. They need to. Horn teen people that are that are going to come into the country. I don't care who they are. Right. Because we don't know what they're going to be bringing into the country. What I was going to say though, was if that wasn't true. And maybe it still been a be contested. Remember a Bronco saying zero built all kinds of detention camps. Yeah. And he bought billions of hollow point bullets and. Hundreds of thousands of bodybags and he got the detention centers getting detention centers to hold these legal alien, though that they don't get out into the public and we can warranty them for a while. And. With the Japanese in World War Two, which was absolutely wrong. And were nationalized Japanese people, and we really destroyed their lives. But. A different situation. So we should be caned people. Well, I think you're making a good point a lot of people agree with you. And I think the biggest problem I have right now is that this is all a plane invasion in see this is being funded by George Soros character. And he's a guy that I don't know might be the richest guy in the world or whatever but one of them, but he's throwing all this money. And he's got an agenda in one of his head groups is the open border society. So he's funding all this. And then you got a jackass called Tom star. And he's a big time, California left. This made made all his money in the coal industry, energy industry, or whatever. So he's throwing a bunch of money. Then you got that big jackass Archie bunker called the meat had he shakes down all the Hollywood simpleton like Babs and share Madonna. Bobby dinette. Oh, Sean Penn knows to leftist punks and. Shake say then down for all his cash, and then he's funding all this stuff. So yeah. But if this is all playing because they want to tear down values here in America and get all these people third world countries come in there, and if they brain disease, no problem, that's more money for their big pharma, buddies, etc. Etc. And burdened system and attack Donald Trump because they're going to claim he's a Meany lock and kids up in cages, but that was Obama did that so you know, what I mean, it's all part of a big agenda to make Trump look bad. I have to give Trump Atta boy because who else. There's nobody in the world that I know that could have stood up against all this oppression. Yeah. Gotten and still got things done that he said he was going to do the guy is tremendous. And I'm being behind him one hundred percent. What's good to know? I'm sure because he listened to the show from time to time either live or on the podcast. I'm sure he enjoys all the support he gets around here for every once in a while, we get a character. Like marvelous Marvin that likes to try to put the bad mouth on him? Right there. Well, I mean, Marvin got his opinion. But the only problem couple of my guys to say, yeah. Well, he's wrong. And besides if you listen to anything it comes from MSNBC or CNN CNN, it's documented they got the dumbest guy on talk television net. Don, landon. I mean that guy and then the second dumbest person is at Rachel Maddow, or mad cow or whatever the hell her name you'd between those two moons. So, you know, but what I'm saying is Marvin's gotta get some other source. He needs to turn on FOX and friends some time in the morning because he's still up partying with his blonde. Bam beano and stuff and getting some of that medication working on them. Then he could get some real good solid information. Because FOX France has it early in the morning. But can I change it? So yeah, go ahead me. Go ahead. I think it was Friday that would have been Bubba. I think. Yeah. Indicate. Said that age is having a plague. And it's a swine virus pig virus? And the virus is similar to the Abol of virus in humans, but it's affecting the pig and they've killed million a million or more pigs and tack that killed more than all the pigs that we raised in a year, they destroyed. Yeah. I did hear some some news about that. They're kind of keeping it quiet and keeping it a hush hush because. Spread rapidly spreading and. Week. Did this could affect the entire world as far as our economy and so forth. If this doesn't get taken care of and there's no cure. That's scary. Scary stuff. And the problem is now I I saw one of the border head honchos was on pressure on FOX and friends, but might have been on Laura Ingram because she has them on there, but they've captured now they've documented people from about fifty different countries in from over there in the far east, and you know, the the country with the terrorists who they think that some of these ISIS characters these fighters are trying to sneak on in here. Taliban type sneaking on in here people with all kinds of different disease. I actually seen one of them being interviewed, and he basically said the same thing. And I think he was from down there South America. So I mean, yeah, this is a big time crisis. But you know, Democrats is doing everything they can to throw a roadblock. Locks to stop Trump from addressing this. And then, you know, get those never Trumpers and the rhinos out there. They left in a finger because you know, all they're cronies, and they're guys give them all their campaign cash. They're big business type, and they won all these people in here because I think that's more business for him. I don't know if you'll be WalMart shoppers or what it is. Lessen the day. I appreciate you talking to me. Okay. Well, let's call anytime. Carl sounds like you got a lot of good common sense. And you back the Donald you betcha. Okay. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for doing. What you're doing? Thank you, brother. Okay. Appreciate. Okay. What do you think? Damon time. Take little short break. Let's do it right here at AT ATN. Now is the time and wherever you are.

How about we also reveal who was responsible for the the sexual misconduct that caused our taxpayers you and me and everybody else to pay seventeen million dollars to people who were abused by members of congress. And those members of congress have never been identified to even though they've caused a seventeen million dollars taxpayer. I totally agree. They say they want transparency give us that transparent. Yeah. I've got another one for you. You want transparency craw about we see your tax time because a lot of walked up in their poor. And now, they're fifty rich. How did that happen? "fox france" Discussed on Opinion Central
"I'm John Deere's coming up on the opinion central. The government may be shut down. But the political games are going into overtime in Washington. Governor Gavin Newsom runs into some unpleasant surprises in its first week in office and William Barr had his big confirmation hearing. How did he do our editorial board will take up each of those issues? Nets on opinion central. Welcome to opinion, central John D as chronicles editor paycheck hitter here with my editorial board colleagues. Josh Polke Spencer, Whitney Marshall Kilduff KYW Milner, Lois cassock off. Okay. Well in Washington. The government remains shut down. But we have a little tug of war going between Nancy Pelosi and President Trump. She told the president sorry. You can't come for the state of the union while the government shutdown and he quickly then grounded her so to speak on our plant trip to Brussels in Egypt and Afghantistan said no air force plane for you on this, quote, unquote, political our excuse me public relations trip. What do you think who's winning this? And who's right? Who's wrong is pretty ridiculous on both parts. I mean Polisi through down the challenge. I by saying it would be a insecure on safe for him to go to Capitol Hill to deliver the state of the union. And she thought it was a bad idea. She kind of almost implied threatened suggested he not pull it off which is pretty much expected of that. And but then he couldn't resist of course, and he fired back by yanking her plane privileges saying it was all showy trip to nowhere and she should stick around Washington right out the shutdown. But you know, this is this is so distracting, so so unmanning 'full and just under underlies or underscores really the the whole shutdown mess, and how frustrated the rest of the country is the hard luck stories are piling up. And this is the response. We're getting come Marcia. You're seeing pots on both both houses somebody take a stand here who's the villain. Speak up. Now, I don't know about who's the villain. But I think Nancy's looking better here. Just because she absolutely knows how to go this guy. And no one has been successful since except her you know, she knows how to poke him and how to prod him and how to tickle his manhood. And you know, she knows what his soft spots are. And I think she is doing a really good job of just making him. But at the same time when why would you get off on a sort of unneeded? So what tour while the rest of Roma's burning behind agree with you Marshall, I think all of them need to sit there in their little seats until they get this shutdown worked out because this is ridiculous people are going without their mortgage payments. And that's definitely what the country wants them to focus on that said, I mean Nancy's winning the shutdown fight, and she's definitely make. She's definitely making Trump overreact was deaf. With the American people who are losing. I mean, that's that's the clear position. I mean they've been. Using since the shutdown has been going on it quiz getting worse. Even with any Bill signed to give these federal workers their back pay. I mean that doesn't really matter if you have a mortgage if you have rent coming up, and you need to pay bills. There's vast majority of Americans that are living paycheck to paycheck, which includes some federal workers. So, you know, the fact that they're, you know, kind of going back and forth it as John said a tug of war. It doesn't really it's seems pretty self serving. But I mean, that's we can say that about the this entire presidency thus far. What do you think lowest castes cough zero zero tired? We have somebody getting advantage out of all this Nancy's winning Nancy's very good at what she does. She's very good at which he does. But the bottom line is we elect these people to run the government and they're not doing their job. I'll go out on much of a limb here and said that President Trump is the villain. He did single handedly force shut shutdown. And if you look at the substance, it's it's unprecedented. Not only in length, but no president has really done anything like this has ever tried to shut down the government over some sort of policies trying to enact that the lax public support and is inherently controversial prior shutdowns of largely occurred because congress was trying to force the president to do something. And to lesser extent of the villains. Here are Mitch McConnell. And and the other Republican senators who are enabling him by by refusing to vote on these funding measures which passed a month ago. Thank you for pointing out Mitch McConnell in this. Josh because he really has been M. I M I N he really is the villain of this entire thing. In many ways, good point. I mean, what's up with this? Well, I'm not gonna. Put anything to vote unless the president's going to sign it. Well, there's a proposal out there. In fact, that the president had agreed to it was unanimously from the Senate. I mean, it's crazy. I'm wondering what it's going to take to to break this stalemate. I I suspect that there could be something happening along the lines of maybe we'll have another case of romaine lettuce scare while the FDA is on furlough or obviously the airport security situation is getting a little bit is getting a little bit precarious that may be the president right there. He's listening in you know, he he's put down FOX France to listen to opinions central as should you? But I could see some some kind of especially a public safety issue coming off dead center. That's the price that terrible price of -absolutely. There's no doubt about it that that we're playing with fire the agencies involved here lay the TSA the coastguard the. Yeah. I mean, it's it's it's completely insane. Did you mention the border patrol patrol is at this. Is it this whole crisis because we have a crisis on the border, and we have all these AAC news these alleged caravans coming by the thousands of Sean Hannity put it on thoughts last night. We don't know where they're from or what they're up to. And yet we're telling the border patrol keep showing up adopt pay. Yeah. Really? Yeah. He's claimed a fake emergency. And is creating a real lot worried about drugs coming into the United States doesn't the coastguard role in that I asked rhetorically speaking disasters. We have that fiscal disaster with the with the PG and E which was caused by. Of course, the the wildfires and other disasters. Governor governor Newsom came in just over a week ago. Everything look rosy had a surplus looked like he was on a glide path to to sainthood and suddenly reality strikes within the first week. You've got the LA teachers strike in PG and E. How's he doing on them? I think he's stepping very wehrley towards both issues. He hasn't really said very much either than I keep an eye on both. And I'm looking into each task force. You know, he's rolling out all of his management lingo on this thing. But he hasn't really taken firm swing at it. He's got friends and both sides of there are each each of these sort of burning issues, and I think he's got a brand new crew that he's assembling around. I mean, the paint just drying on on all the doors up there. I think also there's some wariness about making big choices early on that may define you. And also what the stakes are where you might be pulled next. What it says about you right off the bat, and you know, your governor ship is just as you said of week or two old what the heck are you going to do right off the bat that, you know, shows your your leadership Bill. So I think caution is the biggest word in his front of his mind right now. And I think the world wants a lot more of that than they're getting. I think one thing he did. That was very smart was the first thing he said about PG knee was I'm going to make sure the power stays on. Because if we remember what happened to Governor Gray Davis. California's a very sensitive to Brown outs in what things that happen when PG genie up and they don't get their power. So for him to be like immediately. This is my first priority. I'm gonna make sure that your everyone is still getting electric city and as for the rest of it. I mean, we don't really know yet. And we're not going to know until PG knee files for bankruptcy at the end of the month and gets assigned to judge and we start seeing how this shakes out, and he's got to be careful about waiting into the strike in LA because as a governor you wanna be you don't want to look like, you're tipping your hand one way or another to either party and getting involved in that can actually make things a
