Mike Lee: We Will Self-Destruct as a Party, Rushing Spending Bills
"I mean, Mike Lee senator Mike Lee from Utah was on Fox business network and just nailed it. Listen to this. I mean, I think Rand Paul put his finger on it. He was on our show a couple nights ago. He said, GOP has lost any power of the purse and he said, the GOP has a masculine itself. This is not a good episode for the Republican Party, is it? No, not at all. And in fact, I'm glad you brought up the tax hikes in there, which are themselves problematic in your correct to point out that they're not getting the attention they deserve. One of the reasons that this sort of thing can happen and not get much attention in the process and Republicans can still go through the motions and vote for it devastatingly. It's because it's folded into a 4150 5 page Bill, one that was negotiated in secret by four or 5 members of Congress, held secret from the public until Tuesday morning, Larry. There's not a human alive who can digest four 1100 and 55 pages of legislative appropriations text in that short period of time. It's one of the reasons why this should never happen. Republicans, in particular, who do this, it should be asked to never, ever do it again. We will self destruct as a party if this ever happens again. Raise your right. We can't do this ever again.
Paul Ryan: Republicans Are Likely to Win the White House Without Trump
"Going to want to win so badly. We're going to want to beat Biden and the Democrats in 2024 that we won't nominate Trump because we want to win that new swing voter in American politics is the suburban voter. And it's really clear the suburban voter doesn't like Trump, but they like Republicans. So I think anybody not named Trump I think is so much more likely to win The White House for us and sort of like what the Democrats did. What they went from dean to John Kerry in O four, they went from Bernie to Hillary in 16. They went from Bernie and Elizabeth Warren to Joe Biden to win in 2020. I think the same thing is going to be for us. We're going to want to win The White House so badly and beat the Democrats and we know we're so much more likely to lose with Trump because of the fact that he's not popular with suburban voters that we're going to want to win. And that's why I think we got a great stable of candidates. Any of whom are really capable of not just getting the nomination, but winning the general. All right, there you go, folks. That's Paul Ryan former Speaker of the House on Fox business network, and it looks as though Fox is going to be populating its airwaves at least on the news side with the anti Trump forces.
AJ Voices His Concerns Over Liberal Journalists Like Yashar Ali
"Let me just say up front. Yasha Ali is a good journalist. He's a good writer, and he's made himself a very important and influential guy, especially on Twitter. You know, he's broken stories, listen, he's the guy who broke the story last year about Fox News commentator Eric boiling, sending dick pics to a female colleague or colleagues at Fox News and Fox business network. And when he filed a $50 million defamation suit against him, Yoshi stood strong, didn't blink, and he said, you know what? I'm going to stand behind the accuracy of my story. I'm going to protect my sources and fuck you. And unfortunately, and this couldn't have made yasha feel great, but what are you going to do? Boiling sun died of a drug overdose, not too long after the story broke. Even with that awful news hanging over his head, y'all sure wouldn't buckle any protected his sources on a story he knew was right, given to him by sources he trusted implicitly. That's why I sometimes say journalism is a contact sport. You Asha was always also the first guy to get on Danny Masterson's ass for allegedly being a rapist. And as we all know, now that story ended up in the way that Netflix has gotten rid of Masterson. So that's the kind of journalism I love and live for. But what I fear is happening to yashar Ali and a lot of other guys is that they're starting to only attack one side of the fucking aisle. You know, Yoshi is unequivocally a liberal. He's a gay liberal and sorry that adjective has nothing to do with how I feel about the way he lives his fucking life. I don't care. I could give a shit. But it obviously has a lot to do with what stories he decides to cover and which ones he does it. And if he says otherwise, he's full of shit.
David Asman: Main Street & Wall Street Are Converging With Concerns
"Here's David asman, the Fox business network and Fox News anchor yesterday with Bret baier. You know, it's been tough for Americans on the street for over a year now, as they've seen prices do nothing but go up. Wall Street's a little different case. Sometimes you have good days, sometimes you have bad days, but right now Main Street and Wall Street are converging with their concerns. Because frankly, as Americans begin to wonder whether they can afford the food on their table, they're definitely sure they can't afford the high ticket items that are costing companies that are represented by Wall Street. So, you know, if Americans aren't buying corporations, aren't making a profit and their figures come down. So again, Wall Street and mainstream are completely aligned now in fearing both inflation and a possible recession to come.

"8 Hannity at 9 And pierce David folk conflict joins us David thanks so much for being with us Pleasure Fox did have live coverage on the Fox business network and online but why not the channel that makes most of its money Because it's the channel that makes most of their money They in fact very happily sent out release Friday afternoon pointing out that they had an audience of over 3 million viewers tune into their prime time shows last night I can tell you that what Fox News enjoyed over on the Fox business channel and its coverage of this hearings was less than a tenth of that And they're saying the ratings is telling us what our viewers want and we're treating them as consumers rather than perhaps as citizens It's also worth pointing out Fox of course is a channel favored by devotees of president Trump and conservatives and Republicans although those are not their only viewers And they're not looking to alienate their core viewers who happen to overlap neatly with the core Trump voter Did Tucker Carlson or Sean Hannity make any mention of the January 6th committee You know Tucker Carlson denounced it even before the opening moments As a show trial as propaganda as lies being perpetrated on the American public and talked about how pernicious it was that other networks were not covering all of the ills of the world that he was laying at the feet of the current president Joe Biden Similarly Sean Hannity spent significant time minimizing the severity and significance of what was seen At one point I think Tucker Carlson called the events of January 6th vandalism and something that got out of hand as opposed to an insurrection with dire consequences David can they argument be made in these times that anybody who wants to see the hearings can find scores of places to see them and every network doesn't have to show them Not only can that argument be made that argument is being made right now by Fox News executives who say we don't have an obligation to do this But you know they're reasons to look skeptically at that This is something done as a civic enterprise in a way to show the public as branding but also government officials and particularly regulators that they are committed to doing serving the public good at times In addition news organizations will say whether or not our viewers are desperate to watch this This is something they need to know about and they need to know about it perhaps in a direct manner before we start reporting on it and before we start opining on it Fox News is not willing to do that It's not willing to present to its viewers unwelcome information unwelcome arguments unwelcome facts about really what was happening both with the insurrectionists and rioters of January 6th and also the legal machinations in support of then president Trump trying to cling on to power despite the election that cost him a second term Is this a permanent editorial decision or with a network carry some of the hearings if their revelations that they consider to be newsworthy What they've conveyed is they will cover it live as warranted I'm not sure what standard they're using I'm not sure they know what standard they're using on that There have been a number of moments during the hearings that are uncomfortable for Fox because it's flatly contradicted what some of the most popular figures have said And particularly looking forward to Monday's hearing we're going to have as one of the witnesses fox's former political director who will talk a little bit about fox's decision to call Arizona for Joe Biden in the 2020 election on election night which was something that The White House under Trump really pushed hard back against and tried to get Fox to reverse This is going to sound awfully naive but the former attorney general of the United States a Trump appointee referring to the president's arguments about the 2020 election as BS I don't know let it strike me as newsworthy to fox's audience I think that what you're seeing from the committee is an effort to put each of these things that might have been known some of them publicly already in sequence in a way where the public can digest it What Fox has decided to do is not play with it at all.
Tucker Carlson: Why Fox News Is Not Airing Jan. 6 Comittee's Lies
"So here's Tucker last night, explaining why Fox News prime time programming. They did carry it wall to wall over at Fox business network. They carried it at Fox News dot com, but they stuck with their prime time stars of Tucker and Sean and Laura. They didn't deviate from that. Here was Tucker explaining why. Yet another lecture about January 6th tonight from our moral inferiors no less. An outbreak of mob violence of forgettable minor outbreak by recent standards that took place more than a year and a half ago, but they've never stopped talking about it. In the meantime, in the 18 months, since January 6th, gas prices have doubled, drug ODs have reached their highest point ever, the U.S. economy is now careening toward a devastating recession at best and scariest and least noted of all. This country has never in its history been closer to a nuclear war. Yet the other networks can't be bothered to cover any of that tonight. Instead, they've interrupted their regularly scheduled programming to bring you yet another extended prime time harangue from Nancy Pelosi and Liz Cheney about Donald Trump and QAnon. The whole thing is insulting. In fact, it's deranged, and we're not playing along. This is the only hour on an American news channel that will not be carrying their propaganda alive. They are lying and we are not going to help them do it.
Chuck Schumer Rants About Fox News Not Airing Jan. 6 Hearing
"They're not worried about the future of America of democracy. They want to do what The New York Times admits they're doing, refocus the voters getting closer as we get closer to the midterms. Listen to this bonkers unhinged rant from the floor of the Senate yesterday from Chuck Schumer about a cable news network's decision. Fox News, one of the main amplifiers of the big lie about January 6th and about the election has stated they will not broadcast Thursdays hearing. After giving the likes of Tucker Carlson a blank check to spread conspiracy theories and white supremacist views night after night, it's beyond repugnant that Fox News refuses to cover an investigation into the deadliest attack on our democracy in modern history. It's a disgusting and treacherous decision. One that will gravely harm our democracy. One that deliberately will conceal the truth from a large portion of the viewing public. A cable news network. Now understand Fox News is going to cover it, of course. It's going to be on Fox business network wall to wall. It's going to be on Fox nation and Fox News dot com, and I'm sure that the prime time shows will pop in and out of it like they always do. But the fact that they're not going to preempt Tucker Carlson is going to be the undoing of our democracy, according to Chuck Schumer.

House Democrats unveil full $1.9 trillion Covid relief bill with minimum wage increase
"Yesterday, House Democrats unveiled their version of a covert 19 stimulus bill, which contains an increase to the minimum wage. House Democrats are pushing and Senate Democrats pushing for this $15 minimum wage hike. That figure has been a signature of the Democrats wish list, but the president has hinted May Not be possible. Now Politico reporting that President Biden told governors and mayors last week in the Oval Office just may not be the right time boxes David Sponte. The bill also includes more than $100 million Burn underground rail project in California's Silicon Valley, according to documents obtained by the Fox Business Network. The project has been in the works for years, but ground has yet to be broken. Republicans are opposed to the covert package. But under a process called budget reconciliation. Democrats could approve the bill without GOP

"3934001 Tucker. Did you see that? Our old buddy Larry Kudlow got a new gig? I I did see that. Yeah, Interesting. It's exciting. Yeah. He was the director of the National Economic Council under President Trump and Of course, he hasn't been on this show for the last few years. But now that he has moved to Fox business, starting when does he start like the next week or two? Yeah, it's relatively soon. Yeah. Uh, we he would be starting at 4 P.m. on the fox business network and texting about four or five. I soon. Yeah, I would definitely reach out to him. We should if you haven't already done so, Tucker, he's gonna want to come on our show. I guarantee. Thank you, Barry. Appreciate very much, Um The problem he's got is the Fox business Network doesn't have the same type of ratings that CNBC has The directory used to work. Yeah, that's gonna be the challenge. Yes, it is. Thank you, Barry. You're done. E was talking to Tucker not you. Very, um The Bitcoin purchase. Can we talk about the test? I think, Take us a little while so Tesla Purchase $1.5 billion in Bitcoin, and they're saying that they're going to start allowing people to pay for their vehicles via Bitcoin, and I have so many questions out there that I don't think anybody's gonna be able to answer right now. Let's start with the potentially damaging one here. Ellen has gotten in trouble with the SEC before. I don't know. So they disclose that they company itself. Tesla about $1.5 billion a Bitcoin. Believe, they said sometime in the last quarter. How long the last three months. How much has Ilan must been putting out tweets that have propped up the price of Bitcoin? I don't know when he made this purchase, but I have been looking at tweets all over the last few days of you know, Ellen must talking about Bitcoin back in December of last year. And so if Tesla went and bought this thing in October of last year, and he's been propping up the price like this via 12 dump, baby pump and dumps I want. I don't think that has Liz going to go use this as an investment tool, but it is You know, problematic if he was doing this again, it is not a regulated security like the like. The SEC would normally go after, but I think you know you must have a history of Twitter problems, And I think that's probably needs to be looked at. But questions like why do you buy 1.5 billion? If you're gonna accept is a payment. Fine, right. You can you can accept it and then sell it. You're settled the trade. But why do you need if you're if you're accepting the payments? Why do you need 1.5 Billion? That part? I didn't understand, Did you? So here is the theory right? So here's the problem with using Bitcoin as a form of payment. So if I bought Bitcoin at $5000, and now it's worth $45,000 if I sell it Have a big capital gains tax, right, right? What happens if I use it as a currency and trade it for a car? You have to pay capital game. I don't know. Do you do I question on? So I think why Tesla bought $1.5 billion worth of Bitcoin is they don't just want to start accepting this as a form of payment. They want to start using it to buy goods. They want to buy a battery from China. They're going to try and send the money over to China and use it to buy supplies for their assembly plants and several payments in Bitcoin, I think would be the endgame here. Which is why you're building up a base of it currently, but there are so many questions about this, right? I mean, if I Okay, So let's say I complete that transaction. I trade my Bitcoin for a Tesla. Now Tesla has my Bitcoin. If they go sell it today paying capital game, right? Do they have my cost basis that I used? How do I transfer that cost basis over to test list so that the IRS knows what they used it for? I guess all of this is to say. This is going to be regulated. I don't see any other way around it right? I do, especially when you have a big company like Tesla getting involved. Now that's going to just the Treasury Department is looking at this and saying We have to regulate this right if you start using it for cross border commerce if you start using it for a Massachusetts resident who buys a car from a Texas based company that manufactured in California. There's a pretty clear case there that that's cross border promise, and this type of thing would need to be regularly. I don't think that that means necessarily that the price of it needs to come crashing down. That's not the argument that I'm making here. I had just merely mean to say that The Wild West Days of nobody looking at who owns crypto currency of being completely anonymous, and people getting away with not declaring it on their income tax. Is Is another important question to folks evaluating how to smoothly pass along assets to your faith. And we He ate. Mitt. The tech I will. Walk you through. Com. You know, I'm sorry about yuan must may have some issues with the SEC and the Treasury Department over the Bitcoin announcement. But another issue, which is far more pressing, is the challenges he's facing in China. Hey, you know some of their having quality control issues with cars that they're manufacturing regiments and selling in China. Well, that's all it takes, though in China, So here's my question for you guys. Have you guys heard of the company? Neil? Yes. Both have Chinese electric car manufacturer. How predictable is this series of events? We talked about this when Elon Musk opened up his Chinese manufacturing plant. Here's what happens whenever an American business goes to do business in China. Here is the process that has played out time and time again. Come to China. Open your manufacturing plant. We'll let you sell to the Chinese general public. Too. Let's get our people in there so we can copy your proprietary technology and do it ourselves. Three. You've got safety issues. The product that you're selling to our country doesn't meet our standards, or you've broken some obscure law that didn't exist. Prior to this. We're kicking you out of the country. You could no longer make your product in our country anymore. Every time this is have, not every time every Starbucks has been there for a long time, McDonald's.

Nancy Mace, who is of course, the first female Republican ever elected to the House of Representatives in South Carolina. She is also the first female To ever attend and graduate, The Citadel's corpse of cadets program. She was born into a military family on Fort Bragg. She has a hack of a biography, and she is the furthest thing from You know, a carnival Barker looking for attention or looking to get into a Twitter scrum. I mean, my my belief and I will ask her about this because she's gonna be on the show here in about 30 minutes. My belief is like a lot of us. You know, she was frustrated with a docs effort on Monday night to make an event that killed five people of the capital about her, Okay, We're not gonna talk about sexual assault. It has no place in the conversation and there's no bearing on what we're about to get into. But we are very much going to get into You know the veracity of some of her claims and just get us up to speed on that. Basically what happens? AOC posted this instagram videos February 1st. So it was Monday and in the video, she talks about how she thought she was gonna die. On January 6th. She described hiding in her bathroom of her office while the mob was storming through the capital. But it turns out the capital was 0.3 Miles away, which many people are saying is a 10 minute walk. I've talked to multiple congressman about this. They say Cannon is a legit 10 minute walk from the capital. But IOC went on to retell the tail. And I'm gonna play you some of her clips because I want you to understand what went on and I want you to understand what's being called into question. So here's a O. C. This is clip eight. So I looked through this door hinge. And I see this white man in a black Beanie. Um, bump just like open the door of my personal office and come inside the personal office and yell again. Where is she? Um and I have never been quieter in my entire life. I was just I don't even know if I held my breath. But I was just, you know, here behind there, and I just start sliding down. Um, And then all of a sudden, I hear my staff Fergie. Yell out. Um, and he's like It's okay. Come out. So that's a no state and she basically saying she's you know, looking through the keyhole, people yelling, Where is she understand that this video was set up? For her to tell you why she thought she was going to die. And you know the mob was stampeding. And she was fearing for her life. Now I don't doubt that everyone involved had valid fears. Because what went on was horrific. We were condemning it in real time. But you understand this is a little bit manipulative when you find out There wasn't anybody in the building 100% of the damage sustained at the Capitol, and it was horrific. But 100% of it was a sustained in the dome. So she wasn't in the building. But here's more of what she says which a lot of people haven't taken exception to. Because she went in and started throwing more shade at the Capitol Hill Police..

"This sort of, you know, pothead waste away type of guy who had no business. Quote, inflating this otherwise worthless stock and the bit was basically you know, this company's worthless. You know, this is your game stops better days are behind it. Um, you know, this is all a scam on a farce in a ruse, and you have no business. Having this kind of money was basically the thrust in the tone of the sketch, and I keep hearing that that this was Ah, game and a scam on another wise working system seems to be the take of the critics. What do you make of that criticism? The system isn't working. You know it. Imagine this is so you're like, 27 years old. You got your first job you're doing okay? And you've got some extra cash and you want to get involved in the market. You looked at your mom and Dad and 1999 and 2000. The brokers community told him. Hey! Load up for the long term. We're gonna give you a bunch of songs, and we want you to buy a home for the next 2030 years. Here's G picked that up in 54. They went to six. Well, how about I? D, um, that only dropped 50%. Hey, also, let's put some of this gnocchi and your portfolio because it's got this number one smart phone company in the world. 36. I went to two. So so That's the system they're talking about. That's perfect. That's working greatly. So then, of course their parents lost and they say, Okay, well, we'll try it again. Then came 2000 and 2009. So these these young adults who have lived through this this is not hypothetical that you know the sales pitch in the brochure doesn't work with them anymore. They know people get rich in the stock market. They want to figure it out by the way. Another notion and you brought it up a couple times. I'm glad you did that. Certain stocks are doomed. I gotta tell you something. It wasn't long ago where everyone on Wall Street said that best buy was doomed. It was absolutely doomed. I could remember going on shows where they had it on death Watch. That's my is $110 a share right now. You know. Yesterday, Amazon reported their earnings. And so Jeff Bezos, he's stepping away. That was the news of the day. There was an article There's a book in 19, and that he talks about a visit to Harvard 1999. I love this because you know, he says he spoke to the class, taking a course called managing the market space. And then afterwards, graduate students pretended that he wasn't there while they just dissected the online retailers prospects. At the end of the hour, they reached a consensus. Amazon was unlikely to survive the wave of established retailers moving online and once that you really seem like a nice guy, so don't take this the wrong way. But you need to sell the Barnes and nobles and get out now. So so, so, you know. Yesterday, Cole's got an upgrade from a major Wall Street firms. The last March. Everyone said that they were going out of business. The day before that happened to another retailer that was supposed to go out of business. You know, Gamestop does not have to be doing that does not have to be going out of business is kind of well recognized Name. You know they're improving your digital strategy. Same thing when AMC, which is another one of these thoughts, you know when we could go back to the movies would probably see a lot of people go to the movies. That's a different experience had been at home. We've been watching on TV at school, but I think there'll be a huge pent up demand ago. Go back to the theater. So You know the notion that a company is doomed. Therefore, we should allow Wall Street hedge funds T to put the final state in the heart if you will, artificially is wrong. And that's part of the system that needs to be looked at and fixed. 1,002,011. I remember sending a DVD back to a company called Netflix and they were doomed. They were doomed. They were absolutely doomed. The list goes on and on about Microsoft did nothing for 20 years until they got a new CEO. I mean, Doomed companies that are doomed that there you know, and therefore will put them out of their misery and then, but in the process of putting them out of their misery will put all the people who work. There are other business and almost small investors own. The stock will bankrupt them as well. Charles Payne is host of making money on the Fox business Network. I'll just close with this question, Charles is this Is this a paradigm shift? Or is this a temporary hiccup? Do you think this fundamentally shifts anything or we still business as usual when this settles out? I hope it. I hope it's a paradigm shift. I hope that these folks just you know they they continue to invest. They continue to in trade. You know, obviously you gotta have some discipline. You know if you're up 300% a week, maybe you take process. You know things like that, Um, you know, there's certain basic investing in trading lessons that they're gonna learn, And sometimes you learn those the hard way. I really pray that these young of the young folks stick with it that they're not discouraged and that they don't turn on each other. And do you think I mean for somebody that's never done this before? Do you? Do you advise jumping in this red it community stuff. Where do you do You think there's a better way to go for learning this? Thank you. I think it's fine to go in there and listen and get ideas. You know, I just I just wrote a book last year and it Zubin. It's amazing. And I because I've done this for over 30 years I've been a broker. I own my own research firm. It turns out that you are you show up on Thursday. You haven't been there Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and you end up dominating the analysis. Of the big financial story of the week. And then one of the staff members here said. In addition to that, that's a great compliment. By the way, I'm Very great performance. One of staff members here said. You know you are your own best PR person. And that's a you know, that's true, but it's a bummer. That in 30 years there isn't anybody but me. Who could explain what I do? There's nobody but me. Who would explain how I do it? I remember when I first When I first entertained the idea of hiring a PR firm Cause that's what you did. So I went through the motions. I was interviewing these guys. Various companies. And I noticed That every one of them's of what would you need to do? You need the calls such and such a The New York Times and explain who you are and how you do what you're doing. And then you need to call the wash. What are you gonna do? I just did it. I just advised you what? You've got to do it. So why do I have to make the call? Why do I have to call the New York Times? Why do I have to call the one? Why don't you do it? Well, you're you're seeking our advice You want to hire rested your PR firm were telling you what you need to do. So what you're telling me is I don't need you. If you're just going to add to my work load, I don't need you. And so I've never had a PR firm. I've never had an agent. I've never had quote unquote representation. Because there isn't anybody out there who can explain what I do and how I do it, Even after 30 whatever. One years or however many it is. And it's probably a good thing all in Guess it's one reason why I'm still doing it. And still unique. After 31 years, there's not a soul out there could explain what I'm doing and I'll tell you what this game stop story. Given example, there is a piece here by freedom powers. At best pack review dot com And this story is basically nothing but quotes of what I said yesterday. The first paragraph explains what the story is. And then every paragraph after that. Well, the next 45 Paragraphs six program sort of what I said. They didn't even try to rework it in their own words. And I need to thank free to power because I have never been this accurately quoted in this long a story. That I can remember. It's uncanny. Normally in a story this long that quotes me, they're going to get a bunch of things wrong. They're going to misinterpret they're gonna miss analyze or they're going to misquote this thing. None of that. It is accurate from beginning to end, radio host Rush Limbaugh compared the surging Gamestop shares and the latest frenzy on Wall Street to the political battles. Between the establishment of everyday Americans in politics. Host told his listeners on Thursday that the surge and trading volume in game stops stock price. It skyrocketed, thanks to a group of reddit users was the most fascinating thing. They were current a while noting the similarities between today's political landscape. And the way platforms such as Robin Hood and interactive brokers stepped in to restrict trading. And then they quote me accurately. Folks is not just politics. Now, The elites are bent out of shape that a bunch of average ordinary users Figured out how to make themselves billionaires, and that quote shows up all over cable news last night and this morning now, what's the latest on this? Well, you know, it all depends on how deeply you want to go. I was watching Charles pain today. Charles Payne goes back and forth between the Fox business Network. And a Fox News network. And I think I saw him being interviewed. But Bill hammering wasn't Fox Fox News. And he was he was talking about you as an example the financial crisis in 2000 and eight Does anybody remember that? That zwelithini years ago now That Was a central Seminal event. That Led to the election of Barack Obama because you know what McCain did. McCain Canceled his campaign. And it wasn't blazing any trails anyway. McCain suspends his campaign to go back to Washington to monitor events. Suspends his campaign. Financial crisis is more important campaign. No, Your campaign is how you're going to fix this, But he suspended Cameron and Obama didn't and Obama was left own the issue. And, of course, the financial crisis of 2008. When Charles Payne was discussing it today, he used it as one of the examples of white people today are so ticked off still at the elites. In finance. Now, remember what's going on here? He is all this game stop story from From my standpoint, I mean, the financial aspects of it are fascinating and the idea that people can For example, the people that knew what they were doing in one day earned their kid's college education. In one day. This has not been possible. Well, it's been possible, but it's not been as As accessible as it is now. In one day, a lot of people trading in this in this stock were able to earn enough money to pay their kid's college education four years. In one day. "Wjr. Today is day one of the Biden travel ban. It is stricter than what President Trump was proposing. Is he left office? That's a good thing. Especially with these new variants coming in from South Africa, Brazil, the UK Vary It is already here. That'd be like closing the barn door after the horse is out. But it does raise the question of whether or not these travel bans air strict enough because Americans they're still coming back from South Africa. In spite of the threat of this variant on the virus doesn't really give a darn what kind of passport you carry. So where they go far enough Want to get reaction to what's been happening at the nation's airports with the new Ban and also this new requirement that you have a negative test. Jeff Flock is with Fox Business Network on old friend who normally we'd be welcoming him with a few mountains of snow when he was here for the auto show, Jeff, how you doing? A guy. We got plenty of snow here in Chicago right now. Little hair so you can keep your own snow there. I will. I'm sure their biggest problem today is travel delays, not travel bans. But when you Where flyers about this that are coming in on international flights. First of all, is there a general sense that that these these tests are going to be, uh, effective. Well, in some sense, No, because there's quite a bit of reporting out there that you know of. Your countries have implemented this sooner than the U. S. Did and that people traveling from those countries Have reported. There have been reports that people have been sort of faking the tests. They get on photo shop and take, you know, an old test or dummy up. A test was owned and present that to the airline, and somehow that gets through course that's a felony. But you know, if you do it, you get through. That's what happens. Well, it's interesting. We've got a case here in Ann Arbor, which you may be familiar with, which is our first UK variant. Identification was a woman that flew in from the UK. She had a negative test before she flew to negative tests after she arrived before she was diagnosed with 818117 so Even a test. This is necessarily mean that this thing won't travel back if people don't quarantine Absolutely. It's not foolproof. In fact, even the CDC leather Redfield, the head of the CDC, said when they issued this new directive testing and I quote him now, testing does not eliminate all risk. You're absolutely right. You can be negative and still carry the virus. So you know There's no great way There's there's no foolproof way to dodge this thing. We know that at the beginning of the pandemic, the President Trump when he had the somewhat porous Asian travel ban that China travel ban, he allowed Americans to come back and I think there were over 40,000 it did. Um, but there was there was criticism of him for being xenophobic. It now appears that maybe some health experts are rethinking that idea in light of the success that Australia, New Zealand Ghana, South Korea, Taiwan countries that had very strict travel bans the success that they've had with crushing the numbers. Well, you know, the tougher you are, And of course, this runs counter to, you know the American sense of what we ought to allow and what we ought to do, But you know the toughly, the tougher the regulations that seems to be the better it goes, You know, it's funny. My daughter lives in Poland. Listen, works in Poland and when she went back to Poland after coming over Christmas They made her download an app on her phone. She was required to quarantine for 10 days and they checked on her location s O that they knew that she was at hearing to the quarantine. I can't envision that happening in the US that has been very successful in making sure that the virus of the spread Yeah. In Australia, they just make that they check you into a hotel and you stay for two weeks when you come back, and they you know, and I again it runs counter to the kind of freedom of transit that we love here in the United States. But at the same time you look at Australia's economy and they are booming. They don't have the kinds of lockdowns that we've experienced here in the United States, so you could almost do it not as a health policy but an economic policy. Yeah, that that that's sort of had been there with the real dilemma on all of this. You know, you don't want to harm the economy people, you know, make the point that those you know people that supported the former president, you know, made the big point that you know you're killing the economy If you shut things down. Well, you know, in some ways, as you point out there, you know, they have the positive outcomes from that. And right now we're kind of I think you know, we have done what usually is sometimes the best way to go, which is be the middle ground, you know, try to keep the economy open, but try to keep you know some regulations in place and the half measures were kind of halfway somewhere. We're not booming. Like Australia. We're not in terrible shape like some other countries. But that's where we are. When you talk to international travelers who are coming in with their negative covert tests. How much are they relying on that covert test is a passport to freedom, or are they saying Look, I'm going to be responsible. I'm going to quarantine On give myself a strict quarantine for two weeks. Well, you know, the ones I've talked to are used to this. Some of them have traveled other places. You know they're much stricter regulations in place and other countries than in the U. S. And so they're quite used to the notion of quarantining and being careful and You know, there are some of them are quite surprised that there isn't a tracker on their phones. So the government knows where they are so that they're sure they're quarantining. Um, now what they do after they leave here, I don't know, but that is a surprise to some people that have experienced different stuff elsewhere. Yeah, well, Jeff, I know you've got a hit in a minute here, so I'm gonna let you go back to work. Bye. Thank you. For you. You're on the scene, reporting there at O'Hare Airport, and hopefully the folks will be responsible, but it raises. I think a good debate in the goods conversation about How early we should attack these things, and also how strict we really should be. Thanks so much, Jeff. Take care. Very point. Good to see a good CIA guy. Thanks. All right. Take care. Jeff Flock. Fox Business News. Also WJR contributor with Fox and interesting, interesting piece in the New York Times that gets into this And they come to this conclusion that travel bans only work when countries don't allow a lot of exceptions, And when you make an exception for your own citizens, you're basically killing the reason that you're having the travel ban. In the first place. And it Z interesting that they're saying, Look, you know the.

I'm thinking back to when Trump was running for president, and there were many people who said, you know, he really doesn't want to be president. He just wants to enhance his brand. How's that working out for him lately? Well, child, it's been some weak right on morning. Len and Michael. I think they have the brand is obviously in big trouble. If the PGA move was the first of many, I think to take away the PGA Championship from his eyes, golf course and 2022. Now you know, from from here on out, I think we'll see a number of People are companies that more associate ID. You know a disassociate in a big way with the with the Trump brand, but it's already started with a lot of the company's coming out yesterday, saying they won't be giving Political donations, many of them said just across the board for the next six months or so, But what I thought was more interesting about that. And it goes beyond the Trump brand a little bit as well. Is that some other Of individual companies. Marriott was one believe horizon. Think a TNT and some others said that they would especially target the members of Congress. You voted against certifying the election and would not be making donations to the likes of Ted Cruz and Josh Holly. So, yeah, they'll be real, You know, financial consequences, and that should be from what happened last week. Yeah, But, Colonel, how long is that gonna last? I mean, if the Democrats get what they want, and they want tighter regulations on business and high corporate taxes is to come a point where corporations are going to say, Jeez, we We've got to get behind the Republicans again. Our business is going to be strangled. I think it depends on how the Republicans handle the next few months. Michael be honest. And yet the short answer is yes, probably. But the longer answer is if if the party goes down the path of And there's a lot of this will probably depend on how the base of the party reacts in the next few months as well. But if the party follows that base and goes down this this nationalist path, which in many ways his anti business or especially anti big business, Then, maybe not. But But, yeah, the party has a kind of a reckoning of it goes back to its roots and talkto. You know older people like Steve Forbes for examples on our show last week, just saying that Republicans need to go back to their basic principles, which is Aziz. You point out more. Taxes, fewer regulations than that would get the party back on track and probably get big business back. You know when it's cornered because you're 100% right? Those those priorities are the same priorities that many big businesses in this country hold and they're gonna they're gonna want to back them. But it's a matter of whether the Republican Party wants to keep going in that. Direction, which is really what is his roots are We're almost colonics Shane from the Fox Business Channel Connell. I know that one of your sources is Forbes magazine, and what they came out with yesterday was kind of interesting and provocative. At the same time, they came out with an editorial. Saying that if any company hires a former Trump press secretary like Kayleigh, Mcenany or I, I even mentioned Kellyanne Conway or Sarah Huckabee. Sanders was Sean Spicer. If any company hires any of these people, and those people do PR for their company than Forbes is saying, we shouldn't believe anything they say for those companies because They lied under the Trump Administration. Interesting. Take no I see the editorial. But I, you know, essentially agree with men with what you just said, is that if you put yourself in a position to and I think that's one of the most bothersome things about I mean, there's been a lot of terrible things that have happened over the last week, but the lead up to what happened last Wednesday. In Washington was all based on lies, but I think that's what's bothered so many people that have been covering the aftermath and I did personally of the election. I was, as you guys know many of the swing states was in Pennsylvania in the election happened. I was there even in a few days afterwards, when there was counting and recounting going on, and we've reported many times on our show and through our reporting at Fox and in the news division, that there was no evidence emerging of widespread election fraud or anything else, But there were so many lives being told by so many people who knew better. Yeah. If those people are going forward with their lives and moving on to other positions, I mean, how could they not expect some sort of consequence from that? Because, you know, you're gonna be judged on what you say publicly and how you handle yourself and again and you should be a least I think you should. Connell. You know, it's the long standing tradition of you work for the White House, and then you go off to the private sector and cash in and make a ton of money. Do you think a lot of the people who worked in the White House who are associated with Trump are just untiring ballin the environment today. In the private sector. Well, I would you know, I mean, I don't know with a broad brush, but I mean some of those people that you mentioned that the Kellys in that in that group, to be honest, and there's some, and there are many others as well. That spent the last few months Lying on behalf of the president. And that led us in many ways to where we were last Wednesday, so I don't know if they're on hirable. I'm just saying that if I was in the position to hire him, I wouldn't. I mean, I just wouldn't And I think that that Z just a consequence for how you handle yourself. And that's you know what we all have to deal with them. You will speak publicly every day. And I've thought about this and guess I'm sure you guys have as well over the last week or so is how do we handle ourselves leading up to this? Did we say enough? Did we get the truth out there as much as we should have, because I think not to make excuses by any means for the people who did what they did at the Capitol. Those of the people responsible for it. They should be in there. They're being put in jail. But the lives they were told by the president by members of Senate by members of the Congress by people in the media, who are influential, definitely had an influence on that so again any of those people.
"fox business network" Discussed on KSFO-AM
"We'll get to your calls next half hour. 809 41 Shawn is our number. Maria. Bartiromo's with US. She host the morning show on the Fox Business Network, and also Sunday futures hit show on the Fox News Channel. What do you make of here? We are nine days left in the trump presidency articles of impeachment that the Democrats would be putting forward. I don't even think they have the time to do it, trying to invoke the 25th amendment, etcetera, etcetera. Where do you think this goes? And what do you think the endgame is here? Well, I think that because Pelosi wants to impeach President Trump so that she could ensure he doesn't run again. You know, I think that right now it's pretty clear that there's no way to have an impeachment trial because there's no time and you know Alan Dershowitz resolved with me on Sunday and said, Look, the first opportunity to even take this file would be one o'clock on January 20th an hour. Joe Biden is inaugurated. So I ask you Is this what Joe Biden wants to do with his time in his kick off to his new presidency? This will be very selling. By the way. Let's see how the talk is generated in the Senate on day one of Joe Biden's new presidency really be impeaching President Trump. Or Will it be trying to move the needle on his agenda and beginning the work of the American people? I don't know, but you know there is a clause The parent played that if you were to get impeached when you can't run again, I mean that some people believe yes, by the way, and Jonathan Turley has been very clear on this, too. And Professor Dershowitz also saying that you can impeach somebody after they get out of office, which is others have proposed that idea. Um, Ondo again, It would be for the very reason that you are saying, you know, when you think back, um, I've gone back and I've looked at the president's speech on January, 6 was some of it hot intern. Was of Yeah, the president wanted to support the effort for a 10 Day. Ah, official look into the issues that he and his supporters have been raising the whole time. That's really all the provisions Woz, the Ted Cruz and Josh Hollywood pushing, and but he actually used the word peaceful protesters Peaceful Patriots, he said those words in the speech, But yet everyone's claiming he said he's was inciting people to violence. How did they get from that? Point to this? You know what? What? What? Struck me is unfortunately, many people have been used to seeing some of these scenes, and we've been watching these sheets all year. You had a very good montage on the show the other night, which I was glued to Hannity when I was watching you on Fox News the other night where we saw the pictures of the chop zone in Seattle, where we saw the pictures of the military cocktails thrown blown up. It's cops faces and bricks be thrown in people's windows smoking. This is windows, forcing them to board up and there was not a peep out of any of these people about any of this. Look, Obviously it was a heinous situation. It should never have happened. It was just dreadful. What those people did Do I know who was in those crabs? No, I'm sure it was out of it. Soup of lunatics who would break into the capital? No one would advocate such a thing. But that wasn't the vast majority of people that showed up in Washington. Just like just like the vet. It's like all the people that pro tested in the case. I was outraged. Every American was outraged. What happened in the Floyd case and that can happen and it worked peaceful protesters. But then you had the people you know, taking over city blocks, burning police stations, arson, riots, looting and everything else that took place and there was there was a reluctance of resistance. I never understood to criticize them. One thing that the Trump supporters and President Trump has stood for this entire term. For years, it has been the rule of law and law and order. Trump supporters have been all about that. That's why they work horrified by that, you know, chop zone and what went on this summer. But, look, I think that at this point, you know they very using whatever they can use against this president to get him out. And, you know they don't want any peaceful trends and they wanted a peaceful transition. They would just have the next nine days and have a peaceful transition. The one go toe Studies pursued every remedy, and that's it. There's nothing left to pursuit. He asked people to be peaceful. But of course that never gets reported by anybody, except for people like us. Thank you, Marie. Appreciate it. 809 41. Sean is a number When we get back, we'll hit the phones. Our phones are burning off the lines here. I know a lot of you want to weigh. It will do that. Next. Glad you're with us. Don't Miss Hannity. We're gonna montages. You will want to record 90 stood on the Fox News channel set. Your DVR will continue. Oh, taking a look at KSFO traffic..
