NFL Sunday Ticket, an absolute must have. And now that it's on YouTube and YouTube TV, it's easier than ever to keep up with all your favorite teams games on Sunday. I'm excited for the four box. So that in week one, the Pats are playing the late game. And I'm gonna be watching four games at once in their four box on Sunday. So it'd be 10 o'clock Pacific time. Here are the choices. Texans Ravens, probably not gonna be one. Bengals Browns, if I was the czar of the four box, which honestly they should just hire me and make it, Bengals Browns would be one of the four. Bucks, Vikes, no. Titans Saints, I think makes it for me because I really like this Titans team as a possible AFC South team. I'd wanna watch them. I wanna see the Saints. So there's two. Panthers Falcons, probably not. Jaguars Colts. Yeah, I wanna see Richardson. I think he makes one of the four TVs for me. And then the last one would be 49ers Steelers, which is a no brainer. That's the best game of the early days. So I would have 49ers Steelers, Richardson, Titans Saints, Bengals Browns. That's a nice four box. Put me in charge, YouTube TV. "Like seriously, like news is important. I did The Economist. How do I put it? It's pretty good, but it's consistently, it has its bias, but it's kind of where it's inspires on a sleeve, so to speak. You kind of know where they're coming from. I like the fact that it's a weekly thing, so you're not getting the same kind of frenetic stuff that you get from something like The New York Times. But it's genuinely a crisis. I mean, we're in this crisis of. Media and governance. Yeah, but it's even deeper than that. It's like, how do we know what's real? How do we know it's true? How do we know what's going on in the world? I don't know the answer to that question anymore. We're just questioning the most basic things and I legitimately don't know where to turn to know the truth on unless I've observed it myself. And I think that that's a huge, huge, huge social issue. Yeah, and I think I kind of have a picture of what I think is going on. In that pre Internet, there wasn't very many news sources when I grew up there. Three or four TV channels, same in the states. The news was on. Once or twice a day, there was like a 6 o'clock news and a 10 o'clock news. And it wasn't really commercialized in the way it is now. There are a number of newspapers and you kind of read the newspaper, which was from your cohort of people. Right. And then the political debates happened from distance. You've got your updates and you've just got to live your life. And so I suspect everything that was happening now was happening previously. It was just easy to get away with it. The corruption was hidden. Yeah, I think that's true. And I think that the Internet has had a lot of deep foundational impacts on human society, but one of the biggest ones is just, I mean, frankly, revealing bullshit.

And hopefully we'll be adding some other ones for Florida and Illinois very soon up to 24 weekly or monthly trivial locations in both states, which is the most I've ever had. And I am up to 13 hosts who helped me run all these places. So we are really expanding here. My goal by the end of this year is to have 48 locations. I have these 48 little magnetic tiles that I use on the whiteboard to organize everything. And so I use half of them right now, and I said, what if I had to use all of them? So that's my goal for this year. If you know anywhere that wants to host trivia weekly, or biweekly, or monthly, or wants to try it out. In any country, in that country, probably just the U.S. for now. But any state in the United States, let me know, send me an amount, Ryan buds, Gmail dot com. "They'll be i guess that's those are winnable games and the first game against in the double header. I'd have rigo seven just having a sudanese cooking. go the full. Seven radio flowing. Thirty two pitches over in indiana third. Give one and struck out one. Oh yeah so. That's one hundred percent. The plan in my mind stripling will pitch on saturday. I would be shocked if he doesn't. Yeah but you let them go again francis if you can go the full i don't even i wouldn't put out there for the full seven. Put them in five and let the nape pearson or meriwether finishing out on saturday night but again i'm trying to make here is that these are all winnable games especially with that pitching staff going on against the baltimore. And then you'd have matt's like you said fishing on sunday you should be able to win all four of those games and if you do that you will be looking at the blue jays in the wild card position not just guessing spot in it at that point again the yankees have The mets this weekend so it wouldn't you know sage that's naked one of those games you know and even though it's in new york it's one way game and the red sox had the white sox you know they're not they're not a cakewalk. Either and their traveling to chicago and then that trying to yeah how crazy would be sorry out of if the red sox and in mayor and like let's just say the red sox a couple of games to the white sox which probably happened say two or three jays win. Three or four in baltimore may be all four. And then the red sox go to the mariners in the mariners gained ground and tie the red sox and then they're right there to it. We're going to look at four tv. An equal shot within the last three weeks of the season this ship to be like the race down the stretch in two thousand sixteen. Remember this jaisalmer in one the orioles and then the tigers rollei game behind and i think the mariners two games behind although. I think this will be tighter. Angela server race senate. It ended up being in two thousand sixteen. But yeah it's going to be crazy. It's nuts. yeah. I'm looking at the the wild card right now for the nfl. Not nearly as excited right. The dodgers are taking the one of the One of the wild card spots. That's that's inevitable and then you got like pretty good. Cincinnati san diego ph- philly and the mets are still in the mix there only three and a half in saint. Louis maybe san diego finds their way in maybe filled. I don't really have faith in philly. It's just not as it's not as i think the the because you've got three. Al east teams. Battling it out fucking crazy. I love it. The reason why..

She was nine years old. We have the best way of looking at whatever he said. What if God came to you and said Got somebody who would like you to take care of for nine years. A girl once you take care of her. And he said, I would say yes, that was his one of the most wonderful, touching things he's ever said. About the death of his daughter. I also found out that a lot of times when we lose a child, it is a huge marriage destroyer. Which is horrific. Add on top of losing a child. But Regardless of that. When I heard the segment On Tucker Carlson show on Friday night when he had Steve Nicu. Whose son, Lance Corporal Careen NICU, was killed. One of the 13 killed It made me cry. Yes, And they were incredible. These young men We're so had so much empathy and we're so concerned. With me and my family who? Luckily my family wasn't there. It's funny and chris. Before i get to this article about amazon. Delivery drivers forced to sign a biometric consent form or lose their job. I wanted to chris. Head wondered out loud during the previous one of the previous segments about the quote and it was. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots. And tyrants i believe that's thomas jefferson. If i'm not mistaken. Thank you to one of our chatters I just saw that during the break here. So appreciate you piping in. So that's the quote that were. Yeah it's a great club. Yes so this from motherboard. Or vice dot com. If you will amazon delivery drivers forced to sign a biometric consent form or lose their job number four. I read anything from this article. I realized that at least from a libertarian perspective or volunteers perspective that if you sign up for a job you know me you agree to whatever conditions they outlined for you employees you can you can have you can counter there. The agreement usually there's an employment agreement. Right yes and you can add your own stuff to that agreement. The other side will permit it and sometimes people aren't in a position to negotiate goshi. But that's not you know that's the that is it is what it is. You take the job where you don't take the job if you want the job. Generally you agree to whatever the employment agreement says whatever. Those conditions are oftentimes people. Just don't have the nerve to try to negotiate with the employer. I think and so somehow you know because they fill in some respect they then like expect some some sorta socialism or something like where some sort of like rights or something that they shouldn't really have. This brings up the question for me like as an employee of well any company really. Do you have a reasonable expectation of privacy at all. Well i can say. I've known like a bunch of people who worked in amazon warehouses because there was like at least one near where i lived in taxes in so many times and it's so easy to steal from them. Maybe that has something to do with that. Like they have to know exactly. who's holding. What package or what time or something. Well i mean. They've deployed massive amounts of technology already with package shipping. And that kinda thing they already have things like. Gps embedded in their vehicles. I realized they outsourced to independent contractors. And they're not able to do that with independent contractors but sometimes they are if they provide the vehicle. Let's see what this article has to say. The new cameras which are being implemented nationwide use artificial intelligence to access drivers location movement and biometric data amazon delivery drivers nationwide have to sign a biometric consent. Form this week and let me see one was the state of this is dated march twenty third so They have to sign a biometric consent form this week. That grants the tech behemoth permission to use. Ai powered cameras to access drivers location movement and biometric data. If the company's delivery drivers who number around seventy five thousand just in the united states refused to sign these forms they lose their jobs. Yes i would refuse and i. You know it's funny. It's like. I have actually been in situations where i've effectively turned down jobs over things like pay or you know other other circumstances that are not that different from this and if if if a employer decided to change the circumstances under which they are willing to employ you. It's up to you decide okay. Is this job still worth you know work. It's worth working right. And if it's not then quit you know. This is why people you save up your money. Okay your partner a little bit off to a rainy day to a rainy day. Villon save money. Chris yeah but this is this is on you. If you don't do those things right. Yeah and i. I would say that some of it. You know the blame for why people don't have the money to and i know somebody's say but i don't to make enough money. Well the reason you don't make enough money is because the government is stealing from you. Okay so stop promoting the government you know and then you. You'll actually have the money to take care of yourself. In those situations. There are ways to reduce your out. Go right so a lot of people. Spend a lot of time talking about income yup the opposite of that i referred to casually as out. Go right or you're spending right. There are ways to do that. "Just kind of start out. I just love to know where the name bell saint came from. I'm guessing that i should just. This way is stem. Gotcha yeah basically. I started out. I wanted artists name to be bell but that was a nightmare because nobody could ever find me So i just was like. I really want an artist's name that is a you know a name that i made up that nobody else has So i i just liked the way l. saints sounded. It was just a made up word When i google that i didn't find anything but i liked the image of like bows feels very you know. Seminarian and saint feels very empowering and so okay cut a juxtaposition then is it always in all caps. yes there's a unique unique stance on that. It's my middle middle child syndrome coming out. Say it loud. You notice me so okay. Well you've been doing. The music thing for a while now and have had some music featured on some television including shows like riverdale shameless. And i actually just talked to someone in past episode and learned that there's quite a few different ways to get a song on to tv. So i'm just kinda curious what your experiences have been like. Yeah i mean for riverdale. I collaborated with producer that Worked with somebody that helps music on the show and Some of the writing sessions. I go into the producers. Are the songwriters like we kind of ride it. I mean i don't wanna say right at four tv but kinda writing it in a way where it could create an emotion or an environment that would fit a secret. he's given like a Like an idea of what scenes. It's going to be around so you can kinda like connect with the mood and stuff. That's what i'm really curious about is coming from a songwriter. Standpoint is this. What tools are you given to produce the song that they want. Or i would also imagine that you've already written something they might come to you and be like this works for us. Would we need to do to get this on the show honestly. It's been both their some where i go into work with the company. Anita is like mainly off email. And they're amazing. Secret road they They're the ones that like. Hitch my songs for td licensing. Sometimes i'll go into a writing session. And if i'm just kind of like i don't really know what to write about today. I'm kind of you know not really inspired. All just say like is there. Are there any themes that you're getting that are like You know for different. Tv shows and they'll send me a brief and it'll be it'll typically be something a little a little more vague like it's not usually like we need a song for this specific. Well actually no. That's not true sometimes but sometimes they'll say like we we kind of want a song that has this thing lyrically Sometimes it doesn't really match what i'm like. If it's like we need something super happy and soubra something that sounds like something if it feels unrealistic to my brand or just like yellow press on it and just kind of do my own thing but then there are the songs that all right that are more like from personal stance and then you know songs that i wrote for my own project a few years ago. End up getting a placement. Because it's just like the perfect The perfect song for the scene been both. I feel like a your head down in writing. What is authentic inspiring to you. Just focusing on the artistry in the brand because i feel like seek is so overly saturated that it's almost if you're writing just four sank it kind of can limit it sometimes if there's not like an artistic emotion behind it so what kind of what. How have you found your. You've been doing this for quite a while and you some time to find that that truth within your sound that you're talking about where you're like. I kind of know my road. And i wanna stay focused on this. I'm not going to branch out and go to poppy. And and do this really happy thing or whatever it might be just kind of finding a in your place and just being like. This is wearing comfortable some time for that. Yeah definitely i mean. I think it's so important to find out what doesn't work for. You like to try a lot of different. Because artistry three dimensional people in it so hard to kind of. I don't know i mean i guess it's different for every artists but for me kinda tried different avenues of collaborated with more like poppers. And sometimes it works. Sometimes you styles work really well together and it can work for you know more pop sound but sometimes it just. I don't know i've kind of learned. I know i've done it. I've sessions that. I can kinda go. Yeah i don't. I don't know if this is the right lane for me but like i be excited to take it in this direction wage if you just kinda know instinctively what you can realistically do and not to. And we've got your husband kyle with kyle. Hi wonderful thank you. I'm curious how you guys started Getting together and collaborate was it. Was it love and then music or the everything kind of happened at once. We were friends for quite a few years before we started dating oak wrote together and that time but a really at our circles musically socially always kind of inner waged. Yeah it wasn't until after we started dating. We actually wrote the first time and it was forward initially for saying something like okay. We're going from friends dating collaborators. A lot of us like let's start with something like feels low stakes. It feels like like test. The waters a bit end off the bat. It felt like pretty great. I mean gratefully. She's a great writer. So it's easy writing an easy writing in from there. The last four years or so we've been using belsen and we were holy. We're totally prepared to like okay. We write and it doesn't work. That's okay because sometimes you can really you know love somebody and it just doesn't work are tests just really mature conversation to have two of. We're going to give this a shot. But we've got these two separate things we're going to try and bring them together. It's a seinfeld episode about that. Like what we're doing here we're gonna try and bring back into their and if that doesn't work that's okay all right so i've kind of put these songs. You told me which songs you were gonna play for us So let me know What we're gonna play. And then just tell me. A little bit about the sun early undoing rainbow so i wrote this song with Jews larsen and rob kleiner who are super talented songwriters. They've also done a lot with on sink. Jefferson Graham here talking tech weekend edition, where once again, we are talking about YouTube, and it's massive kid problems. You think about YouTube, and you would expect that the number one channel on YouTube would belong to a brash foul mouth video gamer, like Pudi pie. A celebrity heavy Tien like music videos from Arianna 'Grande, or footage in the Kardashian sisters. But for today, it's all about nursery, rhymes and potty songs. You heard it here, folks, the number one most viewed YouTube channel in the US belongs to a team of animators from Irvine California that produces weekly animated preschool, sing alongs under the cocoa Mellon brand in the last thirty days alone coca Mellon has pulled in over two and a half billion video views, which averages out to eighty three million young viewers daily by comparison, the major four TV broadcast networks average just under thirteen million viewers daily during the TB season. So this is a. Problem. Well, it is, when you keep going down the chart and you see that six of the top ten channels are also targeting babies toddlers, and first time students, yet, YouTube, you have to be thirteen at least to watch the network. That's never stopped parents. But those are the rules, which brings us to the issues because YouTube is more than just nursery rhymes and play dates. It's also Hitler was right, Juzar, bad porn softcore porn, a lot of stuff on the that parents would not want their kids watching it's everything this week reports surface at the Federal Trade Commission was set to respond to complaints from interest groups to get YouTube to clean up its act for it's handling of children's videos. And according to the Wall Street Journal YouTube is looking at potentially doing something really radical like removing all kid programming from the network and putting it instead on. On his little used YouTube kids app, which is aimed at babies and toddlers YouTube, neither confirmed or denied it saying that they consider lots of ideas for improving YouTube, and some remain, just that ideas. But clearly Google needs to do something never Riecke suggested. It's not the that separating the content is not the solution, particularly since very few people watch the YouTube kids app, which is really aimed at babies and toddlers, not at preteens. You to keep saying it's kinda get better machine. Learning artificial intelligence, some human involvement are going to catch more of the videos that shouldn't be on the network. But you know go type in Disney plus porn and see how much stuff you find on the network that as a parent might concern you, you can find it. I can find it and trust me day should be able to find it, but they don't. So here's what needs to happen. Google should curate. It's kid content akin to how it's done on TV videos would need to be submitted watched an approved now that would be a lot more expensive, but a whole lot cheaper than paying the government, a giant fine, which it might have to do per the FTC. USFL vs NFL - Risky Business
"Our series on the grudge match between the US F L and the NFL United States football league championship game nineteen eighty nine. We took you back to the eighties. When an upstart spring football league came along and tried to score on the NFL's turf. The USFL backed by a new set of owners, including the likes of Donald Trump attempted to change the face and feel of America's most popular sport. In the end. The USFL folded, but the league did have a lasting impact on the game. Many of its players and coaches went onto NFL stardom and rules. I initiated by the USFL like the two point conversion and the coach's challenge are now. Mike, it's a real honor and privilege to have you on business wars. Thanks so much for doing this. It's my pleasure. Hey football is I guess you could say America's favorite professional sport still is I don't think NASCAR ever superseded football. And the NFL has been called the biggest show in the country if not on earth. I mean, what do you make of the league today, especially considering the many controversies that have been surrounding it from taking a need to you know, to to hit injuries. Well in America, we used to have a monoculture when there were three or maybe four TV networks and a few evening news broadcasts, but we've gotten fractured and we've gotten away from that. And the one exception is football. So not only is it the most dominant sport. I also think that it's to a great extent. The closest thing that we have to a culture. -tural glue. If you look at the ratings of the top twenty shows, the top twenty individually aired programs in any year football will be I don't know sixteen of the top twenty or so people think the Academy Awards is right there under the Super Bowl. No. There are three to five football games before you even get to something like the Academy Awards, and maybe a big bang theory. We'll sneak in there, so. Yeah, it's now it's not like most people or even watching every game. But it's the closest thing we have to a shared experience an agreed upon experience. And I think it says something about American twenty nineteen that we can't even agree upon football. Yeah. Yeah. Well, there's something to that. I'm sure, but what about in a business sense? I mean, part of what we've been exploring is in in the course of of examining the USFL, and it's sudden rise was how the NFL was sort of a dominant business player. And I assume that especially given the television revenue that we're still talking about football the NFL in particular as as dominant. Yeah. Yeah. Football is collectively the value of the teams are worth possibly close to a hundred billion dollars in revenue it makes upwards of fifteen billion dollars. Roger Goodell has predicted that football would be a twenty five billion dollar industry within a decade. So you can see from a business perspective. Look, we don't have to take half the audience or a quarter of the audience. If you just take a few crumbs from that gigantic pie, you could be pretty rich. So I understand why someone would say, hey, what if? Where just a pale copy just a tenth or even a fiftieth football. We could still have an enterprise that makes us a lot of money. The problem is historically. It's been hard to do that. Yeah. I wanna go back. Do you? Remember when you first heard about the USFL? I mean, were you already plugged into football at that point when the USFL made its debut. Yeah. In the early nineteen eighties. I was a big New York Jets fan, which doesn't make that much sense. Because they were that good. Although there was one year strike-shortened year that they had a decent enough team. And I remember Donald Trump who was by then a fixture in New York media and real estate circles and remember him going on the Letterman show and talking about how he took over Eastern Airlines, and it's going to be the Trump shuttle. It just seemed like one of these billionaires or millionaires on the make and he announced plans for USFL team. There were going to be called the generals and the name the name. Donald Trump wasn't the most associated name with the generals who was was her. Herschel Walker the great perhaps one of the greatest college running backs of all time, he joins the generals. And if you wanna watch a great college Heisman Trophy running back. He was the only way to watch it. And there were a lot of is on Herschel Walker Brian Sipe who was a former Cleveland Browns. Very good NFL quarterback who we hired to be on the team. And the the roster of the generals was a decent roster a plausible. They wouldn't have won five games in the NFL. But I don't think they would have gone over sixteen. So we put together a very interesting watchable product as did a few of the other owners at the time is funny. You should mention Herschel Walker because I was growing up in Georgia at the time, and you can imagine, you know, you have this Heisman Trophy winner who put UGA on the map in many respects. I mean, it just made it a championship team. And you wanted to you just expected that he would be going to the NFL. L and when the USFL scooped him up what a surprise. And I remember feeling both a sense of letdown that maybe I wouldn't get to watch him, you know, in this new league. But also a sense that something new and exciting was about to happen spring football. I mean, that's crazy. You know? And I unless memory is doesn't serve it seems like Herschel Walker jumped to the USFL before he could have jumped to the NFL because of the rules. Do you remember any of that? I think that back then there was a restriction against underclass men coming to the NFL. Yeah. USFL did away with all of that. In fact, I think the USFL was pretty much open to anyone joining their league there were pirate type organization, but you also have to realize the early seasons of the USFL. It was only fifteen years removed from the AFL, and what the AFL did was they took another exciting southern player and brought him to a New York team. And that. Was Joe Nemeth playing for the jets? And so and that was my team and that was a model of an upstart league. They were a fall football league. But an upstart league challenging the establishment and winning and becoming absorbed into the NFL. And then even more recently than that, the ABA which was the the organization that challenged the NBA, and it was more exciting, and they add multicolored balls, and they had three point shooting and many of their team's got absorbed into the NBA. So this idea especially in the early eighties before football became this culturally. Dominant juggernaut I would say back then by the way baseball was the national sport this idea that you couldn't possibly challenge the NFL. It's not true. Maybe in retrospect, it seems true. But a good business plan could have and a lot of people in retrospect, look back and say, in fact would have challenged the NFL establish that USFL as lead to be reckon with. So why didn't the USFL become a part of the NFL? L as as Donald Trump wished that it had. I mean, obviously he wanted to have an NFL team in part of his strategy was to get ownership of the generals. Yes. And I think and this is this is mostly going by the accounts that have been written the ESPN documentary books on the NFL. And maybe it relies on the great man or the infamous man of history little too much. But the answer is Donald Trump. It seems because Donald Trump just like he was a guy from queens who always looked at Manhattan is looking down on him and wanted to be part of the senior circuit in Manhattan. I think looked at the fact that the US was spring football. And he couldn't live with that. He wanted to directly challenge the NFL and a lot of other owners, maybe without the economic wherewithal to oppose him said this was a bad idea there. We have a plan if we stick to this plan we can make money in the future. But it's very important that where spring league and Donald Trump said no Donald Trump says we're going head to head because he couldn't. Be second best. And you also engaged in a court fight simultaneously as he brought the US fell into the fall. And that just ruined it. There was no way to compete head to head with the NFL. But that's just it. Right. I mean, if in fact Trump's idea that the USFL would be absorbed into the NFL like the AFL with what you were just talking about early. If that had happened. It could have been a gold mine for certainly for all the owners, and who knows how many other football fans in some of the smaller cities, for example, this is I guess I wonder why it hasn't happened. And when you consider what's going on right now, you have the XFL you have the alliance of American football. Which is you know, just just getting off the ground. Now. I mean is this basically given the NFL's position in sports and business today is it basically game where you can't really take on the NFL head to head. It's always going to be about trying to. To get a foot into the door with the hope of getting absorbed somehow by by the leviathan. Yes, I do think. So. And I think that there's a very real impractical concern with just in terms of salaries, and this is not true for a couple reasons with the USF L, but just in terms of salaries you can't pay players more than the NFL. Can I suppose none? Neither of these two new leagues can do. So I suppose you could imagine a league founded by billionaires that wouldn't mind burning
