"The physical labor was forced upon the girls at the rock mark campus. Just as it was the boys in douglasville caravel. A new campus had to be built. the rest of our day after breakfast we would work from probably eight thirty or nine until eleven thirty. I believe and we did various projects and all of them were very physical. Sometimes we would work on landscaping projects working with heavy wheelbarrows rakes shovels digging holes post hole. Diggers the hardest project. That i remember doing my first summer. We were building a campsite at the top of a very high ridge. We were hauling two by fours and a frames and shingles and bags of mortar and cement so at age fifteen they would have us bend over and they would put a bag of mortar on our back which weighed forty six pounds or a bag of cement on our back which weighed ninety four pounds and we were to hold and carry that bad of mortar or cement bent over up a mountain in order to make the footings for the cabins. The girls in my particular group were fourteen and fifteen years old. Maybe succeed years old. And i can't imagine how hard it must have been for the girls that were twelve and thirteen and this was the middle of the summer in a terrible heat wave and even though we were in the mountains it was very very hot temperatures well into the nineties sometimes up to a hundred girls were getting heat exhaustion and heatstroke and they would discourage us from sitting down and taking a break and drinking water. They would give us very very short breaks. We were not allowed to sit down and start working.

It wasn't born in terms of things that that it was quite a small head office so our work in their showroom as pr and social media person booked could also see the things that were going on wholesale and orders and the factories that they doubt with darby lay. It was kind of a very small close knit company in the fact that you knew everything about what was going on it was either so first of all. I just think that the major again it goes back to the major. Just wanna jump on it. I'm going to call this the justin bieber fact because this is exactly what happens and i always go back to this example. Where the major car. How but pick on one particular person. I love justin bieber or half. Always yes. I'm a complete loser but i'm proud of being that loser but it was just a point where justin bieber did everything wrong. And that's what comes with being in the limelight and in the media. Well i was excited to see the much anticipated data. Ck d. study published in the new england journal of medicine a few weeks ago. And i knew just the right people. I wanted to review this study for i former expert. Dr jennifer clements dr stephanie. Nitro jennifer and stephanie are no strangers to i former x. I'd like to get your thoughts on a patient case. A i think that is not unlike. What many of our listeners encounter in their practices and want to imagine. You're seeing k t a sixty one year old african american female in the primary care clinic today. The patient has a longstanding history of hypertension type two diabetes dyslipidemia and. She's morbidly obese. She also has osteoarthritis internees. She recently was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease in her primary care physician referred her to you to make certain quote. We are doing everything we can to protect your kidneys. According to her medical record katie has been prescribed lysenko pearl twenty milligrams twice daily resume astatine twenty milligrams daily metformin thousand twice daily and insulin Twenty it's bedtime and in addition over the counter. She takes aspirin eighty-one milligrams and naproxen sodium for arthritis pain. She currently weighs two hundred sixty four pounds of bmi forty point. Nine blood pressure today when thirty. Eight over seventy six and her most recent labs yesterday include a fasting glucose of eighty seven and a one c of six point seven percent. Sam crat nin of one point seven milligrams per deciliter and an estimated. Gfr of thirty seven seven potassium of four point seven. Ldl cholesterol fifty six hdl cholesterol. Forty eight triglycerides of one. Oh seven in addition. The patient had a timed urine protein tests performed and the album into creating ratio was three hundred fifty. So stephanie. Before we talk about the study that you reviewed in your i former x commentary. I'm wondering what's going through your mind in this case What are some of the key questions you ask this patient during the encounter and what additional apps if any might you want to obtain and is there any additional treatment options. Who'd be considering at this point to stewart. I would agree that. Kt really does mirror. Many of the patients that are encountered in clinical practice. And i think this case excites me because there are many opportunities for the pharmacists to intervene here and if we're going to utilize the ppc process. I would. I want to collect additional information from kt. for example. Does she smoke. How often is she using her naproxen. And at what dose. I'd also want to collect possible. Her a. one c. Blood pressure and serum craton and trends and we know how important it is to not evaluate labs in isolation so seeing her patterns would provide additional insight or care planning. It's really important to know. Kt's renal function is stable or if it's consistently fluctuating as this information would help our assessment of how we can manage. Her current metformin does since her egfr is approaching the cutoff for continue at minimum. She needed both reduction. And also story the for thinking about the potential use of sglt two inhibitors for katie ensuring that arena function is stable. What help us feel more comfortable recommending. Its use since we know that there have been reports of a two kidney injury and volume depletion upon initiation of these drugs. I don't want wanna collect a bit more information about her. Lifestyle habits including a general understanding of her dietary choices notably her sodium and protein intake and see if she is engaging in any physical activity given her need when the patient and osteoarthritis. I'd also wanna know her insurance provider and learn if she's burdened by any of the cost of her current medications in case we want to add anything in the future cd management perspective. I'm really happy to see that. She's on than a pro because she has albumin. Urea but further management is needed to help delay rano progression and when we think of good. Ck d. management. We need to consider it. I optimizing her glycemic control which looks really good for. Kt at this point and also painting and maintaining a blood pressure will have less than one thirty over eighty if we can do that safely

It's great to be here. Yeah so you know. We previously had another member of your team. Aaron from wabe. If you guys haven't had a chance to listen to that podcast go to the website. Go to wabe mad. And you'll see our rate chat with erin but today we've got paul on the podcast and he's gonna die of a bit deeper into the topic of brain health and what we're doing to do more and to do better within that field so before we do that though paul you know why. Don't you go ahead and tell us what exactly inspires your work in healthcare watts. Broad question to me I think for me it was always. I had a fascination with the human body whether it was from the performance aspect. i. I'm an ex bodybuilder. And so i always had this huge fascination trying to manipulate the human body to be the best at it could all the way through my undergrad. And we'll getting in about school. I had a huge fascination at the genome and and a genetic and solving things like duchenne muscular dystrophy with genomic other being crisper cast nine gene regulation. And you know all of a sudden. I started thinking about this and you know genetics. You're just familiar with upi genetics and and protonix. And when you really get into that you know you start looking at medicine as a whole and realizing that we are not controlling what we can. And that i want to continue to strive to make people the best version of themselves that they can be and continue to drive the education behind that specifically in now with lobby kind of the brain sector. Yeah that's pretty cool man so you did like weight training professionally or what. What's the story there. Never professionally I had a whole bunch of friends that were professional bodybuilders. Still to this day. You know on a fascination with muscle for lack of a better term probably unhealthy fascination for being I like to call bodybuilders the first bile hackers you know when when tides just now coming out and getting into mainstream medical community us bodybuilders. Been using uptight for twenty years and not in a nearly regulated fashion. Obviously very underground bro science for lack of a better term. But yeah i mean i. I'm five foot nine. I was all the way up to about two hundred fifty four pounds. It less than ten percent body fat which was not healthy by the way could punish shoes And realize that you know. I think that's a good topic of conversation about health. Though you know people. I think genuinely believe that external appearance can actually reflect internal health and that is so far from true. 'cause x i looked extremely healthy right. I ate what i thought right things. I had low body fat. I had astronomical amount of muscle mass for my frame but internally when i started looking at my labs my panels my lipid panels cluster all levels my ratios. My inner cellular calcium levels all of a sudden. I'm like close. I am the furthest thing from health. Yeah and you know. It's a good call and we've got a measure to understand where we're at and that's a lot of what you guys are doing with wabi around the brain so talked a little bit about the business and some insights about how you guys are helping. Health care leaders do their job around brain assessment. Yeah i think the key there to what he's done let me start by saying why doesn't do anything do what we do. Is we make information significantly more accessible so measuring the brain has been really underdone. Because it's never been a accessible be. It's never been affordable. Those are the two things that david oakley data joffe really set out to change e. g. and evoked potentials or. Erp have been around for sixty seventy years. The problem with both of those erp specifically was really only used in brain death situations to measure. You know long hospital procedure and prostate expensive and b. e. g. is really people are familiar with the g. from epilepsy studies. And these really terrible torture base you know. Eeg say league caps. You're just awful and they're expensive and they're not quick right so when you talk about measuring the brain you know. Are you going to send a client or patient to go. Get a yearly. Mri no are you gonna go send a client to get a yearly specs or anything else out there eeg. No you're not gonna do it because it's going to cost them. I don't know that many people that have five to ten thousand dollars our way every year. Nobody i mean right very hit. I know people that do it yearly. And i'm like that's excessive right but when you really look at that the problem is that by not doing that on a regular basis as we don't have a whole bunch of data on the parade you know it's not like we're able to just go in with a stethoscope and listen to the way than our heart is a. We haven't been able to do that with the brain and so really. The only clinton which measurement is happening is when. There's already a problem whether there's already issues of cognitive decline whether there's already ti stroke whether there's already behavioral sheeps and so we don't really know these baseline normative were supposed to be or house amongst progressing their cognitive science progressing as they age. And that's really. The foundation of lavi is providing a simple fast and affordable assessment that we establish a baseline and then compare subsequent. Scans to see how someone is progressing

So thanks for joining me. Thanks for having me. So in your bio I, read that you were one of the I don't know about original. You've spent some time at AOL. My father-in-law still hasn't AOL account and he thinks he's he thinks it's the Internet that AOL's. That's I I met. So my real question though is, do you still have any of those CD's? You. Know what I do have a couple of the CD is that I kept and I have a few. AOL Jackets Memorabilia that I stuck in a plastic bin. For. can't can't throw that away I. Mean it was a great time. I mean it it's a you know it's sort of an iconic brand that really Steve Case. Bill Right. There were a lot of people there and I played a part in building out the e commerce and You know there were a lot of people that basically felt like. Was the only place to shop. I mean, we were kind of a very enclosed safe place where you could go and You know I really fortunate opportunity to help build out I always viewed it as like a virtual mall and so I would I would like actually. Study Mall's people would ask like, how do you not like bring in Lake J. crew and into. Building out the small and I'm like I go down to the Stanford Mall and actually figure out what other stores are sitting there. Do you know Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom's and some of the others and and that's essentially what we were doing and A community for people. It's funny too because and and we'll get look into the book but I think it's fascinating because it was really it was really a closed place originally got AOL and it wasn't the same as getting to a website that you could. Then just you know punt go somewhere else for a long time it was a very much a contained. As. You said, yeah, and it was also a place for brands to really reinvent themselves I. Mean I remember there was this one catalogue company that we were dealing with called celebration fantastic and pretty small catalogue and and They weren't doing great on the service I mean they were up against like some big guys they weren't getting the promotion. So I remember Valentine's Day rolled around round one day and You know they had this product that was like a chocolate sauce and and they were like we have this idea that we want to do one of your pop ups, those pop-ups screens come. and. They and they called it a better than sex chocolate entrepreneur and and you know people went crazy over it and and so I think it was like it was the first place where you know you could really reinvent yourself in this new channel by showcasing certain products that you have and I mean their sales just off of that product were millions of dollars and just it was absolutely insane but it was really the first place where I saw that you could build brands you know in a non traditional way which you know frankly I go back to our business, my my main business hint. My my day job, you know we fifty five percent of our business is direct to consumer and a world where Soda Is. You know that's just not the way that. Are Sold I mean if anything if they are sold online, it's through an Amazon but it's not through their own site and so I think it's it just little examples like that on my journey make me believe and make me think like how can we just do things? How can we try and how can we do things a little bit different and ultimately better. So today hint comes in twenty players if people aren't familiar with it sparkling and caffeinated. It's a non alcoholic beverage, one of the maybe the largest independent non alcoholic beverage in the world hundred. This is estimated I haven't looked at your books, a hundred and forty million dollars or so in yearly sales, two hundred employees and no famous investors involved in the company, right? That's ten today. Did you start hint to solve a problem or disrupted industry. a little bit of both. Actually you know it's I think back on the journey and you know I call myself an accidental entrepreneur because I wasn't a typical. I'M GONNA go and work for myself or I'm going to be an entrepreneur one day My Dad had actually kind of been frustrated entrepreneur and side a large company He had developed a brand that you may know called healthy choice and inside of Armor Food Company, and then ultimately they were acquired by Conagra but I i. so I had a little bit of learning working for him but I think also when I. Had grown up and tack and in many ways and being at AOL before I decided to start this company and while I, was. Really trying to solve a health problem for myself after I had had three children I wanted to lose the baby weight that I had put on and. Develop terrible adult acne I realized after looking at everything that I was putting all the food I was putting into my body that there's diet. Soda was had more ingredients in it than like I mean I I I talk about it now as I. Cared more about what I put in my car than what I put into my own body and I thought like why is that and a whole story around labels like Diet and you know there's low fat and vitamins and things like that that equated to health in my head but you weren't alone in that address. After switching from my Diet Soda over to Plain. Water, I two and a half weeks lost twenty four pounds got rid of my acne God my energy back and I said Gosh, there's just like a lot of people who are trying to figure out obviously how to get healthier and it's not. Right and and. Like if they could just actually enjoy water again, then they you know we might not have the brand new thing that cropped up about the time I was starting hint type, two diabetes you know things that are. Really. Dangerous chronic right and I thought they need to ultimately enjoy water maybe they need to do other things but that's a first step and so that's when I. Recognize that I didn't like water I aspired to be a water drinker and I start slicing bruton throwing in water and that's when. You know I thought I'm not even sure this is a company I think it's like A. I I don't know I think it's a product I'd worked for companies before right and so when I decided to take this product to whole foods and my local whole foods in San Francisco friends were would come over my house and I tell them. You know it started this little thing I wasn't even calling in a company and they're like that's so cool that you start a company I'm like is it a company? I don't know if it's a company like I have three skews like I'm not sure it's actually a company. But. That's when I really realized that I'm starting something that could actually help bigger range of people get healthier disrupted industry that doesn't care about health back. Then there was nobody calling companies mission driven I was mission driven from day one because I really wanted to help a lot of other people.

"Obviously, bird strikes against you feel like this is an issue but it is right and these things especially. If. It's like a goose I mean, that's a I don't know what twelve pound object getting hit by something going for and miles per hour. Well, what what is, what is the damage like here and how do they? What is the technology keeping US safe from safe from these bird menaces it really is testing. That's what it is and designing for the regulatory requirements. "About our fancy frame TV. Over the last couple of weeks on the PODCAST and I guess also on the blog. If you've seen our last couple blog post, we've been talking about how we've been pleasantly surprised that the furniture we moved down here for the most part fit very well and naturally into our new home. Yeah, it is kind of amazing to say. We showed a bunch of stuff in the. The pod I mean we did have measurements for rooms, and we did have an idea of what we're going to wear, so we weren't just like willy. Nilly putting a bunch of things in the pod, but we knew as we loaded the pod like there is going to be a margin for error I'm sure we'll get there and something won't work the way we thought it. It would because there's really nothing like being in a space and moving furniture around like you can try to do that in your head. When you're not in the space, it's really hard to land on the right. You Know Group of objects in the right. Lay Out I think anytime. We've moved houses. There's been this process where like some of your old furniture doesn't fit in. In the new house, for whatever reason like maybe it's because of the scale of the peace or the exact dimensions, or even a style, but you know you have these pieces that just don't land and work I think we expected that issue with at least some of the things that we brought down, but again we're grateful. Most everything has pretty much worked as it is. Is Yeah were even things John was like I. don't even know why we're bringing this. And then we brought it, and like played a very important role like remember. We talked about those bookcases that we're using in the kitchen and they have like so much storage. They're basically like extending our cabinets using as a pantry fought to leave those in richmond or sell them in Richmond. Richmond because I didn't think we had a place for them. And Sherry was right and the table in the kitchen. There's like a round white table that was like a game table in our old house in the bonus room and John was like I can't picture for people being able to eat here. I can't picture it fitting in the kitchen and it like probably won't live. Live there forever, but it is so good for now and if it hadn't made the POD, we'd be in trouble once again. Sherry was right so I think it's been nice because we didn't have this kind of like panic buying mode when we got here. We're like we don't have a kitchen table shot for one real quick and pretty much the only things that we have. Have had to buy at least the big furniture pieces we've had to buy have been things we knew we'd have to get because we didn't bring them with us. Like our beds like we had to get an outdoor dining table and other side note as we were packing the dining table with outdoor dining table in Richmond, and it was routed in the legs fell off. So we basically bought the same sized table. It was a different finish in a different color, and it works perfectly like I'm actually really glad that one did fall apart in Richmond. Has that one was like seven years old and disbar gone, and even informed the decision like that one was would, and it was rotten, so we got a metal and resin one. That will not, so you know some things were just dumb. Luck. Something's were strategy, but whatever it is that led us to where we are. We both kind of expected to land me like okay so now we need a rug dresser aside table six lamps five. Cheers. But you know what I'm saying I thought we'd land and have this list of like huge furniture items we needed, and it's like all we really needed. Where the things we knew we needed off the bat like beds. Yeah I, think that's the point here is that we've been grateful that we haven't had to go on like this sudden shopping spree and the other thing I wanted. Wanted to point out that was interesting. As we are shopping for one of the other items. We knew we'd have to get which has been window coverings, because as you have probably seen on instagram. We've been using packing blankets. It's very swanky at Casa Peter Sick. Let me tell you packing blankets. They disintegrate into like a black soot, and it's all over your window sills, it's. It's all over your floors, but we have started to receive some of the curtains that we bought, and it highlighted something interesting about downsizing and going to a smaller house that I think we consciously have known, but this particular purchase was like a good case study to help us quantify one of the benefits of living in a smaller space and furnishing a smaller space I think. Think things that are more obvious to everyone is like Oh to clean and less to pay to heat and cool like we said that over and over again. It's like less maintenance if I only have one bathroom I, worry less about maintaining four showers, enforcing them leaking and all that stuff, but I think this is one of those things where it's like when we say it. But it's just a thing we consciously knew, but then it was really interesting to see the actual numbers I. Actually don't know all the numbers. John is going to reveal them to me. Yeah, so I actually went back and tallied how many curtain panels and blinds we had to buy for our Richmond House, which as you probably heard? Her say is more than twice the size of the house. We are now living in Florida. So obviously had more windows to cover. Yeah, I can't wait to hear the numbers. John was like their staggering. I was staggered, so keep in mind. We didn't have curtains on every window so like not in the kitchens, bathrooms or anything like that and having a dining room, either yes, so this is not representative all the windows, so we had actually more blinds, and we had curtains, but we had twenty four curtain panels in Richmond. House K Twenty four, and I should point out. Out In recent months before we left, we were starting to like double up. Some of the curtain panels to make them look thicker right. Some have always been double in our living room. That was four panels instead of to on that big picture window in our office. We had a big picture window with four pounds instead of two. Did you just count those to? Double them because I couldn't remember what was doubled, so the twenty four number is probably closer to like thirty or thirty two. Yeah, that's what I would guess. We also have thirty blinds throughout. The houses were also. Roughly sixty two different window coverings. That Jack's yeah I mean. It was a lot I. Remember hanging those. It took us forever and I remember buying them, and it was so much money. I remember the blinds. We were like Oh. Do we need lines? Backpedal real quick and when we got home depot and saw the total. Yes, so again thirty ish curtain panels thirty blinds. Are you ready for the Florida numbers? I can't wait in Florida instead of thirty. We only need eight curtain panels, eight curtain panels versus thirty well, there's the saving instead of thirty blinds. We need five blinds. Five lines is my favorite and. And we're being very specific about these lines, guys. No one has researched blinds more than us. We will share what we pick when it arrives and we're sure we like it I. Don't want to jinx it. Hence all the packing blankets because we're taking our time and I also just for fun also looked at the number of curtain panels in blinds that. That we had to buy for the Beach House and the duplex. That's going to be like a million. A million I mean feel like we're. It's going to be close because it was three kids nine bathrooms like it was six seven, eight nine hundred ten bedrooms like it's a lot of juices well, and it was also fifty two curtain panels O and And Forty two blinds, no regrets right. We're glad we had curtains and blinds, but it sure is nice. When what did you say it's eight and five here in Florida compared to when we tally all of those previous homes that we sold eighty two curtain panels and seventy two blinds is so insane. How to Eat 45,000 Extra Calories Without Gaining Weight

"And today's show was suggested by Fabio. Who writes? I came across a study on bodybuilders, which suggests that a caloric surfeit doesn't contribute to weight gain as you would expect when the extra calories come solely from protein. Can you comment on it? The study Fabio asked me about was published in two thousand and fourteen in the Journal of the International. Society of Sports Nutrition and it is definitely worth a closer look. The subjects in this study were all in their early twenties, and they were all engaged in heavy resistance, training or weightlifting. They were quite lean and very muscular, going into the study in fact, if you looked only at their body, mass index their BMI numbers. It looked as if the subjects were on the verge of. City, but when you look at their body composition, it's clear that the higher body weights related to their heights word due to their very high muscle mass. One group in the study then added a lot of extra protein to their diet in the form of way, protein powder, and when I say a lot I mean a lot. These athletes had previously been consuming about one gram of protein per pound her day, or about twenty to twenty five percent of their calories. Now this is about twice the recommended minimum intake, but it's still comfortably within the acceptable range for protein that's laid out by the National Academy of Medicine, which is formerly known as the Institute of Medicine. For the study, the researchers essentially doubled the appleans protein intake to an average of three hundred grams per day now that is quite a bit higher than the National Academy of Medicine Maximum recommended intake, and it's also as the researchers point out, and I'm quoting here. The highest recorded intake of dietary protein in the scientific literature that we are aware of and quote. The researchers didn't evaluate whether this extremely high protein intake had any negative impacts on liver or kidney function, but many of the subjects did complain of intestinal distress during the study. However, nobody is recommending that eating this much protein would be a good idea on a long-term basis. The point of this short term study was simply to find out how eating protein in excess of caloric requirements would affect body composition in highly trained people, and when they say highly trained, they mean resistance training not trained in the scientific method or whatever. So? The subject's didn't eat less of other foods. They just added the way protein and of what they were already eating, or at least that's what they were supposed to do. In reality, some of the subjects ended up eating fewer carbohydrates. Others actually ate a bit more carbohydrate, but on average they managed to increase the caloric intake by eight hundred calories per day mostly from protein, and they also continue. Continue to do their usual strenuous workouts. So what were the results of this grand experiment? Well, according to the researchers and I'm going to quote again here. The current investigation found no changes in body, weight, fat, mass, or fat, free mass in the high protein Diet Group and this occurred in spite of the fact that they consumed over eight hundred calories more per day for eight weeks and quote. Now how is this even possible? Where did all of those extra calories go? After all eight hundred extra calories a day for eight weeks equals about forty five thousand calories, which according to the Conventional Calorie, math should have translated into a gain of almost thirteen pounds, and in fact when you look at the actual data, you will see that the subjects did gain some weight just not nearly as much as the old school. Calorie math would have predicted. In the group consuming the extra protein, the average change in weight was a gain of almost four pounds, meanwhile in the control group, who purportedly changed nothing about their diets or workouts. The average change in weight over the eight week period was a gain of almost two pounds. Similarly both groups gained some muscle. The high protein group gained an average of four pounds of lean muscle. The control group gained just three, and both groups also lost a bit of body fat. The high protein group lost a bit less than the control group. So how can the researchers conclude that eating the extra protein didn't lead to any way change or changes in body composition. Well because the differences between the test group and the control group weren't large enough to be statistically significant. Now, I want you to keep in mind as well that this was a relatively small study, only about thirty subjects completed the study, and there was quite a bit of variation in the results of the individual subjects, and sometimes that gets a little obscured. When we're just talking about averages for example in the group consuming the extra protein, the average change in weight was A. A gain of almost four pounds, but some of the subjects in this group actually lost weight while others gained twice as much as the average, and when the variants and results that wide. You'd need a lot more subjects in your study before those averages would be very meaningful. Okay, despite all of these statistics, nerd caveats, it is still somewhat surprising that the group that eight. Extra calories didn't gain more weight than they did. And that the differences between them and the control group weren't bigger.

"Welcome back to the show. Oh, it's great to be here with you today, Pat, and we have a very exciting topic to cover today pack day, we're talking about string and power. How do you get it back? "Interesting. It can be an interesting dynamic in the exam room because some staff members and some clinics are better about those initial introductions than others. And where I am currently working as a relief technician, they focus a lot on communication. And so when you enter the room, the first thing that that I do that everyone I work with does is introduce themselves and talk about their role in the clinic. But you may not get that at the clinic where you take your pets. And I think it's never a bad thing to ask. Oh, are you an assistant are you a credential technician as I said that initial contact in the exam room, there's not a big difference in the skills or education required to do that part of the job? But I think it's good to know who it is. You're talking with you know, I I know that you you know, that my husband is an RN. And so he cares very much about credentialing and training. And of course, so do I, but when I m deal. On the human side with someone. That's calling me back about lab results or whenever oftentimes that person will not be a registered nurse or an LPN. And we'll just be someone who does calls, and I think that the general public doesn't understand that everyone in a doctor's office is not a nurse. And I think by the same token, everyone does not understand that everyone in a veterinary office is not credentialed informally trained. And that's why I wanted to to have this show today. Yeah. I agree with you. I think it's a big issue. I really I like my doctor's office. They wear very clear name tags that say medical assistant or they have a big like a banner tag on their badges that say are N or MD. So it's really a clear visual cue to patients to know. Exactly. Who it is? They're talking to and for a lot of people. And I'm sure your husband knows this very well. They don't understand the difference even between a medical assistant and an R N. But there. Is a huge difference in education training certification required. Just as there is in the veterinary side between an assistant and a credential technician, I agree and my team members all have their title really publicly on their name badges because I feel like they worked pretty hard to get the credentials that they have and everybody should know it. So I'm going to share this podcast on my animal hospital and everybody should be aware of who they're talking to. So that they can adequately. Appreciate maybe their own investment in their professional skills. I think that is really a huge part of it for the pet. Owning public is to know that when they're spending their money at a at a veterinary hospital that they are contributing to the advancement of the profession if they're at a clinic that really believes in credential technicians and hires credential technicians to do those jobs and skills that are restricted to credential technicians are veterinarians. I think it does show a commitment to the profession and a commitment to the gold standard of care by that clinic to hire those people who have that credentialing.
