Airline industry facing worst job losses in history

"Act Payroll Support program runs out of money tomorrow it helped airline workers hold onto their jobs and some benefits as well. Massive cuts for lows and layoffs are now expected without last minute intervention from congressional lawmakers in Washington. DePaul University professor Joe Schwieterman, says airlines facing historic losses We've seen this October cliff coming for four months. It's no secret that without Federal protection. The airlines they're gonna have to jettison lay off lots of people, he says. With Muneer Americans rather passing on flights during the pandemic, there's no way around heavy cutbacks without more federal financial assistance. We're still only about 35 40% of normal, and I just can't support that payroll made tens of 1000 layoffs. Our inevitable. It appears without something dramatic coming from Congress not looking real good right. That cuts are also expected to impact. Chicago based United Airlines. MGM Resorts and its

Wall Street Week Ahead: After monster rally, investors cautious as U.S. recovery wobbles

"We start with that monster rally on Wall Street today the SNP up more than one and a half percent and the Dow jumping over four hundred points. As you can see there, the Nasdaq also up nearly two percent leading those markets, higher energy stocks, financials, and the small caps as well. Investors appearing hopeful a new deal for stimulus is coming down the Pike but markets are still down significantly for the month does today's action give you a reason to perhaps be more optimistic and for that perhaps I I will turn to you first. dominated. Welcome. It's always wonderful to have you on board got a bonus hour with you. So that's fantastic and you know I think the answer. Your question is yes but you can't say that in a vacuum something we talked about over the last couple of weeks was you probably see a short term market bottom on a day the market sells off and the volatility index sells off with it and you actually saw that. Over a few days, NOP can speak to this vicks topped out around thirty six, and as the market was selling off, the VIX was selling off down to the twenty five and a half level that gave you a pretty good indication that maybe we were going to bottom. I mentioned that because one of the things we said now for a while off that low that we made a week and a half or two. Weeks ago the obvious move at this point was probably a moved back to the prior all time high of thirty, three, ninety, three that we made back in February and Steve can speak to this because now does that make sense for that reason it also makes sense because it would be a text book, fifty percent correction of the recent, all time high and the low. We made a couple of weeks ago. So the. Answer is yes. But let's see what happens when we get there and when I say when because I do think we're GONNA rally another forty or so snp handles. All right. So Steve, let's bring you in because guy teed it up for you. There is this level is this a market right now the action you've seen that makes you feel as though you're comfortable being long comfortable putting new money to work right now. So I know everyone wants to have that gut instinct of being positive on the overall market and this market has shown you nothing. But positively, because that gap tom is closing from the corona bottom to when we finally actually restart the economy. But you talked about a couple of levels, fifty percents I'm sorry, the fifty day moving average I heard you talking about today on air thirty, three, fifty, three. So we closed right around that level that's why people are keying in on that level where did we bounce from the hundred day moving average which was thirty, two tech? So this is technically A great set up to play it for a bounce. But the problem is we still have what the problem was. We have an overbought market granted. We work that awful just a little bit. But what has been the most overbought the tech space the most bloated names, those six or ten names that we all focus on. Doesn't mean that. Have not. Rally doesn't mean that other sectors have doubt rally. But it's time to take a pause because the market and the economy or two totally different things. A lot of volatility going forward the biggest thing for me dumb month end quarter in this week. So I heard. I heard it was mentioned prior to us on closing bell I still think it's a big deal I. still think people were under weight energy. We had emanate today I still think people are underweight financials. We saw those rally today what sold off what rallied into month and I think that's what you have to keep an eye on. Let's see if it lasts a week or so Tim Seymour over the last week over the last five days of looking at our screens here it says that the big one of the bigger cloud computing. Is Up over three percent semiconductors that particular ETF the ticker SMH look at a lot is up over three percent right now for five trading days, we also saw financials and energy to Steve's point lead the rally today. So those are two different parts of the market both assuming some kind of leadership role does that then mean that there is this kind of all clear signal, the bad and the good are going up at the same time. Downgrade having you getting me to say you've got an all clear signal is something that's tough to do But I I hear where you are, and if you look at the triple cues and the Nasdaq one hundred, you've rallied almost six percent over three sessions. The semi's which they have multiple times over the last couple of years and certainly coming out of the worst dacoven to have have certainly been a leader and something to follow it. In fact, they've they've kind of lead the way. So both of these are now back over the fifty Todd Gordon will be your to talk some. Of the technicals and a bit, but you're talking about the broadening of the market and to the extent that maybe you're excited today about the move in retail and in small caps and along with that with the banks, and if you look at the European banks were up over three and a half percent. So these are the parts of the mark that I think people wanna see the good news for all investors. So back to at least where you've had an all clear and where I don't think anything has changed is the guys who talked about some oversold conditions I have to do that I. Think. The Nasdaq can contract can correct further down and I I mentioned kind of those late June early July levels but the Fed is still very much your I think the payroll numbers this weaker are going to give you some sense of where the labor market certainly is going to need a lot more fiscal health than just with monetary policy is but I think you've got a case where you've at least seen parts of the economy. Especially, the transports give you a lot of reason for confidence in terms of leadership and they lead you on the way down from two thousand, eighteen to. Twenty thousand nine hundred and transports have been outperforming the market for the last almost four months now. So many key bellwether esque type parts of the market that we're watching right now. So I'M GONNA turn now to Pete and Jerry, and I know that you're on the news line with us right now at CNBC let's talk a little bit about what you're seeing in terms of trading action there is there something that makes you feel as though this is a constructive environment or are we do for a little bit more consolidation perhaps even some more discount pricing in the coming weeks ahead of the election. Well I certainly could see the consolidation side of it. Tom. This. Also though in the derivatives world where I live I gotTA. Tell you something a lot of bullish activity over recent weeks and and it just continues to come come in now A. Lotta that short term today we are seeing a little bit longer term type offer. Options that we were seeing whether we're buying in major indices. So I'm not even just talking specific names or whatever. I'm just talking about indifferent indices across the board we're seeing some buying. So it felt like a bullish tone potentially, but not as much short-term as we had been seeing that makes it a little bit more interesting because it's very easy to sit there in the very short term in. This movement that we are seeing but to commit to buy those kind of premiums that you've got to to be able to go out to January and December that says a lot more about what the what, what they really are feeling those very large buyers out there in the marketplace. So volatility guy brought this up and I just have to address this real quick volatility was selling off all day. It was doing early then it started to sell off. We actually nearly closed on the absolute lows of the session, which was pretty interesting to see how that volatility index was coming down as market came down from being up five hundred down to four hundred yourself. A lot of different things going on right now. But certainly, there are sectors that I'm impressed with the do lead us a little bit. More so out where we have been recently light transports like material and a few other names I like seeing what we thought financial today. But that's one day. We haven't been able to see financial foot back to back to back days together for a very long period of time. So that nothing I think we got to watch very very closely. All

Portland Officials Prepare For Proud Boys rally in Portland

"In Portland, Oregon, are bracing for a rally today by the proud boys. In fact, dozens of people wearing militarized body armor are already arriving there coming early for this right wing event. Proud boys are expected to attract thousands of supporters of President Trump organizes of the rally, called a free speech event. They want to restore law and order, and they condemned what they see as domestic terrorism. Oops, like the proud boys have been critical of the mayor of Portland for allowing the violence there to continue nightly for four months. Several events to oppose the proud boys are planned for today, as well. So the tension out there is pretty high.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Honored At The Supreme Court

"To imagine that something can be different and suggesting that Ruth Bader Ginsburg achieved that. Speaking to a rather small group of friends and family and the socially distant times in the Great Hall of the United States. Supreme Court hears Chief Justice John Roberts, Jane Jim, the entire Ginsberg family. On behalf of all the justices, spouses of the justices. The entire Supreme Court family. I offer our help heartfelt condolences. The loss of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. That loss is widely shared. We know that it falls most heavily on the family. Justice Ginsburg's life was one of the many versions of the American dream. Her father was an immigrant from Odessa. Mother was born four months after her family arrived from Poland. Mother later worked as a bookkeeper in Brooklyn. Ruth used to ask What is the difference between a bookkeeper in Brooklyn and a Supreme Court justice? Her answer one generation. It has been said that Ruth wanted to be an opera virtuoso. It became a rock star instead. But she chose along. Subjected to discrimination in law school and the job market because she was a woman, Ruth would grow to become the leading advocate fighting such discrimination in court. She was not an opera star, but she found her stage right behind me in our courtroom. There. She won famous victories that helped move our nation closer. Equal justice under law. To the extent that women are now a majority in law school's not simply a handful. Later she became a star on the bench. She sat for 27 years. For 183 majority concurring and descending opinions. Will steer the court for decades. They are written with the unaffected grace of precision. A voice in court and in our conference room was soft. When she spoke, people listened. Among the words that best describe Ruth. Tough, brave fighter a winner but also fought for Careful.

House passes short-term spending bill to avoid government shutdown

"The House passed a short term spending bill Tuesday night in a three, fifty, nine to fifty, seven vote, which would keep the government funded through December eleventh. The Senate is expected to vote on it this week. In addition to funding most government agencies, the measure would add backdrop farm payments sought by the trump administration in return for expanded nutrition assistance for low income households sought by Democrats. Lawmakers have said they want to get past the shutdown threat to focus on passing more coronavirus relief, which they failed to do four months amid disagreements over the size and scope of a fifth stimulus package.

Flu Vaccine (MM #3471)

"The Maison with Kevin Nation doctors are telling us we need to get a flu shot this year because the flu vaccine will be most important in helping wage covid-19 because a lot of the symptoms do mimic each other. So we want to make sure not spread germs and disease this year, but also heard something very interesting where that this year. The summer time flew was the most inconsequential than we've ever seen in years because everybody's wearing masks and they're avoiding people to stand six feet away. So naturally flu germs aren't getting past. So we didn't have any summer type flu this year. My wife and I are looking at getting our flu vaccine this year. We don't normally do it, but they're not going to get it but now you've got a time when you get it because if you get it right now with some recommend it may not keep you covered for the flu in January and February if I get the flu, it's normally during January and February so I may want to push down until late October. So it make sure to cover me for about three four months which is all the flu vaccine is good for but if you get your flu shot now, that's only going to take you through the end of the year and you got to worry about January and February when you get it could play a big part two dead.

U.S. Digital Response and the Volunteer Tech Effort

"President Obama's chief data scientist, talks with US Digital response cofounders Jennifer Palka and really knew as well as racially A member of US digital response. You know the place. I wanted to kind of start this conversation with you. Is almost rewinding the clock back and Tio where we were, and it's it's hard to to remember. But You know, it hasn't been that long. Since then. She all came together. March 16th, You know, that was 133 days ago or 19 weeks or on Lee 36.34% of 2020. Not long but to put it in perspective. What was what was coded like at that time. When, when, when? Back in March, 16. You know we had 4500 people who had tested positive in the United States and 88 had died. Six of which were in California. Sam Cisco Bay Area had moved to a shelter in place, and it was three days before a governor Newsome had issued a stay home order for the whole entire state. Ouchy had just warned that the worst is just ahead of us. It was his first time really warning that publicly. And so you know what we think about how much change from the numbers back then to now, I want you to take us back to the initial moment and that that almost that realization Of why jump into this? Why create us digital response when people the numbers weren't as bad as people have thought, What what got you to see this? And and maybe railing? Could you talk to us about how you came together? US digital response. I would say we started off a somewhat simple idea and a bit of a prediction. It was founded by a former U. S deputy chief technology officer is like John He was here and season tech industry veterans more like myself, and we kind of came together with this idea and thinking that With the pandemic. We were going to see government systems and government teams really be stretched beyond their current limits. And knowing all of the wonderful tech really talented tech expertise we have in this country. Is there something there? We can connect the people who have this expertise with the government teams are really going to need that hope to scale beyond problems that we've really never seen. So I think what happened was that was a thesis and we basically gave it a shot. We put a call out for help to technologists and we reached out to government people working in government that we knew their networks and we're basically like Is there something here? Can we provide help? As a team. We've really just been blown away by what we've been able to dio on Both sides. I think we've seen on one hand. We've seen those government services be taxed in a way that's really unprecedented. And in a way that goes way beyond where we made initially thought or on health care. We see systems being affected like Government service is like voting toe accessing benefits in the social safety net in general, and I think we've been overwhelmed by the interest from technologists who raised their hands to help so Probably. Within our first few weeks, we had thousands of technologists all over the country raised their hand sign up online just to say, Hey, I'm here here on my skills. I want to help. And so I would say USTR has served as that bridge that gap kind of bridge that gap between tech and I just want to help and governments in need and when we've really seen that the model works. So we're just about past four months of existence, and we've had over 5500 volunteers sign up to help from all over the country. We've actually taking on over 130 different projects with states and counties and city government teams in a TTE this 1300.27 different states, which kind of really amazing when I think about that. And as I said, it's all happened in just a matter of months. I mean, it's just phenomenal. You know, Raph, why did you join? What? What? What? What you did to this effort You have, like endless job opportunities with your background. Yeah, I was one of the first volunteers with you See, are the newbie on this panel? It's because I was spending all my time Energy doom, strolling and reading the news on DH. Release is worrying about the future on that didn't feel good night background is in Tech Azan Engineering executive You know, like I have worked at a few different startups and developing amazing roller coasters. But the thought experiment that I run when I'm thinking about leaving a group or joining group is if this group of people who succeed beyond their wildest dreams like what would the net impact on the world being In past companies have sometimes thought like I feel pretty neutral office like I love the people and the projects are interesting. But what is the impact? And so I've been on kind of a quest for the past few years to find a way to make That kind of impact it scale back in March. In this tiny thing that you're talking about. There was a lot of energy from the tech community, especially here in surface Go like the hacker news readings that to try and find ways to help and it seemed to me like a lot of the Things that people are working on. We're a little bit like solutions in search of problems like The solutions that are going to move the needle are going to be like something crazy, innovative. It's going to be mass cooperation and distribution and logistics and the kind of things that we infected government for. So a mutual friends talking about USTR, and when I read about it, heard about it. It was like this is this is the way we have to help governments. Let's help them be responsive to the needs. And so I had, like. The man's privilege of having the time of the financial security volunteer for free for a while. And the anxiety to not sit around doing nothing

First Berlin Production Equipment, New Largest Supercharger Location, Daimler Emissions

"Our here, and today we have a super charger network update, which is nice. Little throwback for those of you that have listened to the podcast for a long time I used to do those every day at the start of the podcast. We also have some news on Berlin paint a small little updates slash rumor. I would call it on Battery Day and the news on Daimler Nikola Motor as. Well. Tesla stock with another really strong day to day even though it was relatively quiet news wise finishing up seven point two percent to four hundred and forty nine dollars seventy six sense that compared to the Nasdaq up one point two percent we'll start off with these super charger news. This is coming from Brian Mac se on twitter, who is a long-time listener and I believe Patriot supporter of. The podcast who happen to come across a super charger network location under construction near Firebaugh California. As far as I can tell, this location had not yet been noticed. So upon Brian tweeting these out Tesla Motors Club Forum members did some digging on this and they were actually able to find that the permit for the site as well as planning documents for sort of a conglomerate travel center at. This location those documents disclosed that Tessa. We'll have fifty six spots for Tesla charging at this travel center. Assuming each of those spaces has a super charger associated with it. fifty-six chargers would put this as the largest superchargers location in North America and possibly in the world surpassing cattleman city in the United States at forty chargers and believe in China, there are a couple locations that have fifty chargers. So. Pretty exciting this location is between San Francisco and La driven miles. It's about two hundred and thirty miles from La and about one hundred and fifty from San Francisco. It's not clear if these will be all version three superchargers but I'd have to imagine that they would be and as far as other features go. It looks like about two thirds of them thirty eight of the fifty six. will be pull through hopefully accommodating the use of a trailer and making things a bit easier for the cyber truck and potentially also accommodating the semi of course, cincy unveil of the semi. We haven't heard much more about Tesla's mega charger plans. So hopefully, we get a bit of an update on that during battery debt. Right next today is an update on Gigabytes Lynn gigafactory underscore four on twitter. Has Been following. The gigafactory development closely looks like some equipment has started to arrive, and some of that equipment carries branding for Geico Tikey Shah? which is a paintshop solutions provider based in Milan Italy. There's also some signing there that is co branded between that company and desolate GEICO take show describes their approach by saying quote innovation is our weapon of choice were constantly increasing the technological possibilities in. Order to meet the needs of the most demanding customers in a highly competitive sector and quote they also seem to be heavily focused on sustainability and they're their paintshop operations. They have a project called the party's project, and they say quote with the Party's project launched in two thousand, five Geico Kotecki show was the world's first company to offer zero environmental impact paintshop reducing consumption by seventy percent and. So. Without really knowing much more about the company does he pretty good fit for Tesla we know Tesla has pretty big aspirations with the shop and gigabyte Lin Yuan talked about it many times and even setting Matt aside, it's good to start to see some production equipment on the grounds of Giga Berlian and though I haven't seen it yet. Maybe this gives us another milestone to compare the progress with Giga Shanghai from what I can. Tell, it looks like paintshop equipment started being put in place at Giga. Shanghai. In early to mid August of two thousand, nineteen with production of course, then starting about four months later. So if that's the case, if Berlin falls a similar time line that could potentially project out to start production and January probably best to keep expectations for later than that but I do think it's helpful to keep an eye on how those timelines compare all Right next up today is something that could end up being completely nothing but I thought it was at least interesting enough to share earlier today Fred Lammert over at electric tweeted out a couple of images of him holding a pretty significantly sized battery cell and Fred Ask if anyone has seen this battery cell before or you have some information about them, please reach out to him. A says also by the way, this new cell May. Or may not have been made by Tesla I don't really have much speculation to add this. A couple of people on twitter were saying that it does look like a tablets design which we've talked about and past episodes. But really just pointing out to say could be something to keep an eye out for the next couple of days if electric is able to you dig up a little bit more information on whatever this ends up being. Last couple of pieces of news here. Today I on Daimler Daimler has reached a settlement with the US government to pay one and a half billion dollars and settlements and penalties to the US and California State to resolve allegations of Daimler using emissions test cheating software to conceal the actual emissions from vehicles even with the settlement, and despite the fact that engineers at the EPA found software designed to cheat the emissions tests. Damore denies wrongdoing saying quote as stated in the consent degrees the. Class Action Settlement the company denies the authorities allegations as well as the class action plaintiffs claims and does not admit any liability to the United States. California plaintiffs or otherwise and quote. So I don't know kind of disappointing to see a settlement of that nature that doesn't require the admission of fault with such seemingly strong evidence against Daimler right lasting today is a quick update on Nikola Motors. It sounds like from the comments yesterday that most of you preferred that I don't do significantly. Deep dive on this budget stick to the high level updates, which I'm totally fine with if Trevor Milton wanted to come back on the PODCAST, I would probably do that. Otherwise, we'll stick with these updates anyway today the Wall Street Journal and other outlets are reporting that the Justice Department has started to also investigate Nikola Motors due to the allegations that they had misled investors by making exaggerated claims about their technology I know that sounds similar to

Boris Johnson faces Brexit revolt in parliament.

"I'm Anthony Davis. The European Union on Monday ramped up pressure on UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson to step back from breaking the brexit divorce treaty. Delaying a key decision on London's euro clearing justice. He faces a rebellion in the British parliament. The European Union says Johnson's plan would wreck trade talks and propelled the United Kingdom toward a messy brexit while former British leaders have warned that breaking the law is a step too far that will tarnish the country's image. The House of Commons will vote on moving the internal market bill which the EU has demanded London scrap by the end of the month two, its next amendment stage after a debate that Johnson will introduce. As Johnson prepared to try to persuade lawmakers that he's planned to explicitly break international law was worth supporting a derivatives industry source said the European Commission had delayed a decision on euro clearing. The Return of Playoff Rondo

"So Bill Game One against Houston was Rozan rondos first game nearly six months. Can you break down everything that he went through with injuries? Yeah. It was interesting because this is a guy who has been slowly it feels like kind of breaking down as he's gotten older he had two broken fingers on his right hand last year his first year with the Lakers. This year he had a calf injury. He had an aversion fracture in his right ring finger and this is all before we get to March and the shutdown from the pandemic. So the Lakers are off for four months they go to. ORLANDO. Rajon Rondo is with the team their first practice inside the bubble Lakers guard Rajon Rondo has suffered a broken right thumb in. He's expected to return to full basketball activities in six to eight weeks, he's going to undergo surgery to repair the fact fracture this week. So he leaves the bubble has surgery. He's out for another six weeks or so the Lakers have a first round series against the Blazers Rondo, comes back to the bubble and is actually cleared to play for game three against the Portland Trailblazers, he's on the court getting ready. For that Game Rondo was listed as active tonight for the Lakers but was a late scratch with back spasms that happened. So, by the time, we got to game one of the second round against the rockets. There was kind of this sense of porcelain Rondo forget about it what level, but is he just going to be healthy enough to play and be able to stay healthy to make a contribution to this team? What does he had to say about all of these injuries he basically downplayed the injuries and said that these are the sorts of things that are going to frustrate. Anyone was very frustrating injury and step back I'm my career fourteen years have. Everything happens for a reason. Obsolete man says talks we. Still for the moment but the timing of this latest injury, the broken thumb and the back spasms I think particularly frustrating for him because this is a guy whose entire reputation and career is built on playoff performance on being a guy who really ramps it up in the postseason. Early, in his career uses a second your point guard with the Celtics out of Kentucky playing with Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen and Paul. Pierce and he ended up playing an instrumental role. You remember the two thousand, eight finals against the Lakers decisive blowout game. You know he had twenty one points against Kobe Bryant and the Lakers twenty one point seven rebounds eight assists six steals to give the Celtics a championship for that story franchises nearly ovation barrage. You've seen it win Lebron was in Miami. If you remember game three of these conference semi finals Rondo dislocated his elbow. Oh. Wow. Left arm hyper-extended boy. Didn't see it on that I replay certainly. Saw It there. When back to the locker room pop back in came back onto the court to help the Celtics with game. Time is pad. Rajon Rondo expired the crowd rare Boston. We've seen it time and time again in his career in these big moments, it's not superhuman. But when you take a player who is seen as a high level, but not superstar player can a hitting that superstar switch when the playoffs come then obviously a legend starts to grow. And for him did have another injury right when the Lakers were expecting to get him at his best was extremely frustrating. But the timing actually ended up working out he made it back for the second round series against the rockets and as we've seen was really no worse for the wear the Lakers got blown out by the rockets in game one. They're all going to be in a good mood tonight as the Houston Rockets when it one twelve to ninety seven. But after that, they rattled off four straight wins how much credit do you think Rondo deserves further taking that series. So easily I think you could make an argument that without Rajon Rondo certainly that the Lakers wouldn't have off the next four wins, but he was instrumental in games two and three and four also, but specifically games two and three with his performance in the fourth quarter game too. He knocked down a late jump shot to kind of hold off the rockets and what was a close game Rondo two. Point jump shot that's Rajon Rondo with a bucket right there ten points nine assists for Rondo and then engaged three. He was actually the guy who is Lebron James on the bench to start the fourth quarter in what was a close game at the start of that period he either scored or assisted on Lakers I eight possessions of that quarter to help kind of turn what had been another tight close game into a rout for the Lakers. Rondo. He'll three and Rondo hits another one largest laker lead tonight Rondo has. Been Spectacular and a nice Lee for Kuzma. This is sort of how his reputation has been built. But this also is kind of out of line with the way he's played for the Lakers over his first two years. He hasn't been the guy who has come up in the big moments or been clutch. You've seen the decline of a player who's in his mid thirties and has been in the League for fourteen years, but there has always been this belief from the Lakers that when the playoffs come that he. Would step up and have those sort of vintage Rondo performances and so what you saw was sort of this return to form that the Lakers have always promised would be there and you saw not only offensively. But also defensively when Houston started to make runs, it was Rajon Rondo who was picking up James Harden full court and pestering him into turnovers they double team Arden and get a steal and another round of bucket. That's a ten old laker run hard was trying to go behind the back Rondo was right there. In both game two in game three second-half possessions where rondos picking up James Harden. The former MVP of the league, hounding him into a turnover, taking his pocket and going the other way for layup that completely shifted momentum and those both are Lakers win. So when you look at what Rondo did in those two games, I, think you could easily say that the Lakers could have been down two. Oh, two one in the series instead of kind of romping to a five game series victory.

"Four months after the account had been close. And we call them back and said, listen what we need is a year of pay history. We need to see how you got from. The seven thousand dollars you think that she owed at that time. To that number from the sixty five hundred dollars or whatever that number was. We wanted to see the entire pay history is her right as a consumer to get that debt validated. Her right? Certainly when they go to court if they are going to move forward and sewer. So I I knew because of the statement we got the only one thing we had that. There was no way they were going to be able to get that information from the by the way, this was a Bank credit card one of the one of the big five banks, and they had they sold thousands of of these debts. But the bottom line is that after a week and a half of this. It was clear that they didn't have that documentation. I said, listen, our clients going to just go to court and demanded or you can just take a couple thousand bucks to go away. Because there's no way I'm going to instruct you to pay seven thousand dollars on a debt that we think is nearly out of statute. And you guys can't provide all the background for and the biggest part of this. And you know from listening to my show if you've listened for any period of time guy that says if you owe the money pay the money. "But yeah, I think with porter. He's also the most likely to be moved to be Bradley. Beal is playing it all star level. He is going to be an all star John Wallis untradable for a couple of different reasons in the immediate. So yeah, if they're going to make a move. It's auto porter yawn Meany is already talked about the possibility that they would try to use an asset to get off him as well. But that leads into the other challenge for Grunfeld at this trade deadline is the porter and maheen me paths. Like, you don't want to give up assets to dump me he'd meet if there's a chance that you're going to get salary relief from auto porter. Whether it's now or in in the summer because then that's just a waste of resources. Yeah. May I think the assumption is going to be that they're just going to stretch me he'd me? But again, if they could to we saw them do this type of trade with Nicholson, which was what was. Four months after they signed him to that deal. I think it was a year and four months nano. It was that. You'll wasn't that a? Yeah. Right. Yeah. No Nicholson was out of the league a year after siding and deal that was over twenty million any wasn't inch. Okay. So you can you can creek. 'cause this is another funny Grunfeld thing did they amnesty Andre Blatch before his extension kicked in or was it like right or wasn't like right on this. I don't recall that that's long enough. I, but I think I remember you telling me that before it's possible while I mean, at least I was an amnesty just hurts the owner's pocket book and not the the salary cap. So. Yeah. Mimi the the point is starting to make as they do that Nicholson they picked up Donna veg-. They also were able to get an expiring contract. And maybe they could try that. Again, we talked about with the hawks may be getting a guy like bays more, even a deadman might be possible. You could also maybe even see we've probably should've talked about this the hawks briefly. What if they traded maheen me? For deadman. And and maybe someone else who makes us salaries and Plumbly miles Plumlee. So that the next year it's only twelve million instead of fifteen and they throw in some kind of an asset there. But again, you know, you mentioned there issue with the second round pick zone have many assets like that. But that that could be another thing that they might try and do as a just to get a guy who's just as bad as me, he meet, but maybe just makes it a little bit less something along those lines. We've seen those sort of deckchair shuffling, trades that are purely financial before it will never it'll never match the Biondo for MAs gov trade, although I I guess you could say Charlotte one that one because beyond bows, actually playing. But anyway, I think that's about all I've got a on these guys. This is another team that I would probably predict wouldn't move though, you know, it seems like there's a ton of deals that have like a five percent chance of happening on the team. Yeah. I think with them. A big swing factor is going to be what Sacramento values in how much they value it. Because if they really like Otto porter then. There is absolutely an avenue to make a deal happen. But if there were guys that they're interested or other uses for their cap space. There just aren't as many teams that are well situated right now. Maybe a team is sitting there July fifteenth or July twentieth and feels differently about their twenty nineteen cap space. But right now, I think it's it's a different situation. You only get back to a point that you lead off with here. Which is yeah. Okay. They might make the playoffs. They say that they're not gonna take, you know, a the toys wouldn't owner is going to say, but in this year where with John wall out, even if you really like your team yet, maybe they sneak into the play offs, and you can kind of feel good about that seeking the playoffs with thirty eight wins. Even though you're you're max player was out for the year. But it does seem like they could take this opportunity to really reload just in terms of getting some lower level assets..

"To the podcast for about four months and really soaking it in and read a lot of total money makeover and i'm on board hundred percent i'm we're on step two and working our way through that and and that's going well my wife is sort of onboard by proxy listen to red or anything okay h e cheeses sorta following my lead and which is great by there's one struggle that we have she has these and i'm on board with you know don't have credit cards but she has these store cards you know these they're not visas and mastercards but their store arts and and you know she doesn't want to get rid of them because they send your coupons if she if she uses them or they or she gets points and and you know i dutifully paid him down zero every month that that's not a problem but i hate them they complicate our life and it's just more things to keep track of but i i don't know how to how to explain to her in a sort of a loving way that you know we need to get rid of them i don't want just cut him up and and just sort of no no that would be bad bad or marriage or yeah i want her to eat agreement i don't know how to explain it to her okay so let's kind of get down under this first second what the real problem is is that she trusted utility got to her cards proxy ended at the department store cards so what this is saying is you all are evolving through this process which is kind of normal and the next step in the evolution that process is not proxy anymore it's instead of her trusting you for her to go gather this information you've been gathering the goal is not to for her to get rid of the cards the goal is for her to learn some of the things that you have learned that you've got excited about right and when she learns those things whether it's podcast whether it's just the total money makeover book or something else then she will be as excited as you are and it won't be by proxy and so this has gone as far as it's going to go with proxy you'll put this thing into this whole movement into overdrive when she actually gets the why and why is not because i trust my husband it's great that she does trust you that's very cool but that's not why anymore the why now needs to be that she grasped why you're doing this have you guys been through financial peace university no which she go if i gave it to you yeah i think so i'll give it she would she would pay for it the two you need to go because if the two of you go to class and go honey just do me a favor just let go this class with me it's only nine times and then we'll talk about this other stuff 'cause she's gonna go the light bulbs gonna come on over her head she's not unwilling she's not unintelligent she's not a princess she just said oh honey whatever you want do until you wanted to mess with her stuff and then whatever you wanted to do didn't cut it now she's now she's wanting to be a thinking person and engage in the process so she's an easy one she's an easy person to convert because she's not add the cereal right now if you push her and make my name into a cuss word by just jackie had her all the time about this stuff you'll you'll make it adversarial don't do that too i'm afraid of yeah instead you guys just go to the class and i'll pay for it and just say as little as you can possibly say but enough to get her to go with you hey maybe proxy will extend enough to get her to go to classroom proxy that would be fine because then she's going to get a hold of it and she's going go oh now z what you're saying brian artless do this game on baby that's what's going to happen this lady because that's who this lady is isn't it yeah yeah cool very cool how hang on i'll have zac pick up and we'll get you guys into a class brian and sarah our weather's in los angeles i see on my screen you guys are debt free congratulations.

"And those are the times where you're like why is this happening to me this is awful and you know that was really hard to go through i mean we've been through also issues with the fda stopping our inventory ten thousand units of sunglasses being held for four months in the fda really can wipe out your cash flow and so you know it's things like that that have really that really make you wanna quit but we were smart enough to have an emergency fund sort of in place you know enough to keep us afloat and we now know that we need more and you know you just have to prepare for things like that but even when you have bad days like that or bad month's twenty seventeen was not an amazing year but it was in so many other ways you know we had a child and we've been waiting for that for so long and we're still helping so many people by giving back that that really keeps you going and you're right it's just you have to put your mind in that you know you're helping people we're gonna continue to plug along no matter what we have to do and we'll get out of this bad time because on the other side of that is going to be a good time and we know that you know twenty eighteen is going to be awesome for us and what happened on the other side of that really bad day i'm guessing took awhile to climb out of that hole but what happened to the business in the following months.
