Mike Benz on the Largest Mass Social Media Censorship Op in History
"A clip that you will explain for us. Eric play clip. There was a lack of capability around election disinformation. This is not because it didn't care about this situation, but at the time they lacked both kind of the funding and the legal authorizations to go do the kinds of work that would be necessary to truly understand how election disinformation was operating. So because of the feedback and the ideas from these, this group, we were able to pull together pretty quickly a project between these four different institutions to try to fill the gap of the things that the government can not do themselves. There are kind of four major stakeholders that we operated with that we worked beside at EIP. Our partners in government, most particularly those in cisa DHS, but also in all the local and state governments with whom we operated with the election integrity infrastructure Isaac. We worked with civil society groups, such as the NAACP, miter, common cause, and the healthy elections project that worked at both MIT and Stanford. And then we also worked with the major platforms, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, Reddit, next door and the like. So that's a description of the election integrity partnership. What is sister and what are they boasting about their Mike? They're boasting about the largest mass social media censorship operation in human history. So this group labeled 22 million tweets just on Twitter alone as misinformation incidents in the 5 months before the 2020 election. And they did this with 15 different social media platforms. So this is hundreds of millions of content. The pieces of content. Let me ask you a question. Millions of posts, that's a lot of work. That's a lot of man hours. Who's doing this? And who's funding it? Well, unfortunately, it's not if you're powered by AI. And this is the dirty underside of so much of this. Once you have a narrative outlawed, say, mail in ballots, if you say that mail in ballots are not safe and secure. Any narrative which undermines public faith or confidence in mail in ballots is if so facto content in terms of service content violation,

Who Were the Stoics?
"Mister Kirk, today you made a comment about the stoics can you tell us about the stoics in your opinion of them God bless. So yes, there are four major stoics. The kind of inventor of stoicism, if you will, is a man by the name of a he was a slave and obviously living in slavery and then being freed. He was able to live through all different parts of life. By being in slavery and by being treated terribly, he came really came up with a philosophy for life and operating system, regardless of your circumstance regardless what's happening around you need to identify what you can control what you are able to do in that moment and then release everything that is outside of your control. So there's elements there of Christianity do not worry about today. Do not worry about tomorrow, don't worry about the future, but focus on the present. There's elements of some eastern philosophy there. There are three other stoic thinkers and writers that are quite interesting. Zeno, which we'll talk very little about, Seneca, as well who I believe was a counselor to a Roman Emperor, Blake would know, but the most famous, he was a counselor to Nero. Okay. That's notable. Yeah, he did a great job. They're actually you never know. Bad emperors sometimes can have really good counselors. That's a good rule for life. They're not always listened to and sometimes their heads are chopped off. That's right, yes, that's correct. The Seneca was forced to commit suicide because he was such a wise and lord of man, but the most famous stoic of all. And there were other kind of quasi stoic thinkers, Cicero being the one year Roman council, who wrote extensively about separation of powers and has some of the greatest writings that later inspired the American founding, but Marcus Aurelius. And I have a bust of Marcus Aurelius in my office because I really love studying about Marcus really. So Marcus Aurelius was the last of the good emperors of Rome. He ruled, I think, between Blake to look it up. It's like 200 something. Far after Christ, it was right at the end of the pax romana and Marcus Aurelius, he really was one 61 80. Thank you. And so he ruled over more land, more geography than any other ruler or leader alive at the time. And so it's a very interesting window of if you have absolute control of the earthly realm, which is what basically a Roman Emperor did. You could, any woman you want, you go to any person you want, you could cut somebody's head off, you full complete dictatorial control because Roman Rome ceased to be an empire and transition to a republic. What would you believe? What would you do? And what was so fascinating about Marcus Aurelius, we only know this because of his private journals that later got repurposed and published as a book that we call meditations, is that Aurelius adopted stoic philosophy to help him become a better ruler.

The DHS Censorship Mercenaries With Mike Benz
"Okay, with us on a separate topic right now is Mike Ben's Mike, welcome to the program. Walk us through the latest research that you've done and also includes me, I believe. On the DHS targeting regular Americans for censorship. Sure. So this is a pretty extraordinary scandal. A lot of people have seen censorship in isolated cases, like Hunter Biden, laptop story, where a single story was censored or a certain accounts were individually censored. What we're talking about in the aggregate here is 22 million tweets censored or throttled by the Department of Homeland securities outsourced censorship consortium. In the 5 months before the 2020 election, then the same group went on to censor COVID in tandem with federal government partners. So they essentially used a Blackwater model that a private military contractors, except DHS start doing that for speech policing at home in 2020 through these sort of private censorship mercenary groups. So the one in question here is a group called EIP, election integrity partnership. And they're made up of four major disinformation labs who are sort of the heavyweight hitters in the censorship industry, particularly staffed by national security state, intelligence and foreign policy folks. Now, the total damage that they did to a free and open debate around the 2020 election was 22 million tweets censored, 860 million tweets put in databases, 15 different social media platforms, scrubbed in real time, a 120 staffers working 16 to 20 hour shifts for 5 months to censor every emerging narrative that had to do with a pro populist or pro Trump sort of beat around election information.

The dire prediction came after Afghanistan's Taliban government said women can not work in NGOs in the country because they're not wearing the Islamic headscarf correctly at work. All four major NGOs save the children care world vision and the Norwegian refugee council has suspended their operations in Afghanistan, spokespeople from all four groups warned that without female workers hundreds and thousands of people will die, they also said that Afghanistan is grappling with one of the worst hunger crises on record with 6 million people on the brink of famine. Novak Djokovic Knocks on the Door of a Very Exclusive Club
"Today in New York, and some of the most legendary players won't be there because of injury. Serena Williams. Venus Williams, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic, the third member of the so called Big Three, is trying to become the first man ever to win 21 Grand Slam titles and the first man since 1969 to win all four majors in the same calendar. You almost Frank Lindsay caught up with the New York Times tennis correspondent Chris Clary. You just released a new book about Roger Federer called the Master Chris before we get into the book itself. I wanted to get your sense. Is this it? You know, it's sort of it's sort of snuck up on us. Could say it snuck up on us quickly or gradually, But I mean, I think the big three as we've known them Federer, Nadal and Djokovic just routine legal and deepen slams Now that Roger's tried to come back from his Third knee surgery and ended up not working. I think you have to say that era is over. Now you've been if Roger manages to come back against the eyes of place, or I don't see him being a regular factor with just those two guys at the top anymore, So it was a tremendous period of time in tennis history. I think it is over. And now we're looking at Least for now, Novak Against the younger generation until that going for one of the ultimate achievement sport, not just tennis a true Grand Slam. World Video Game Hall of Fame: Everything You Need to Know
"To kick things off just like sports, rock n roll W W E and TOYS. Even the video games have their own Hall of Fame. Now, the method of selection of Hall of Fame or the Games is a little bit unique compared to other halls of fame, so we turn to Robbie Landers. To give us some info on the video Game Hall of Fame. Yeah, so a little bit of info about the video game of the Hall of Fame processes. It's actually the strong National Museum of Play, which is located in Rochester, New York, and over there. Unfortunately, yes. So a few years ago, they decided to to to to basically start the video game Hall of Fame within the strong museum here. So, uh, Give an idea of how their how how games are nominated. How you get to be within the Hall of Fame is anybody can actually sort of, you know, suggest or nominate a video game by sending an email email them and say, Hey, I think Mario Brothers, too, should be in the vision of all the things you could be the guy you could be the one to do that. But then it goes through through a few different things. Such the player's choice ballot. So you know gamers do actually get to vote throughout the year. You know in in certain instances, help move that along. But there is actually an international selection advisory committee that they That's composed of journalists, scholars and other individuals, Indwelling nerds who are familiar with his former basement willingness with the history of sort of video games and the role that they play in society, right. So to give you an idea, you can't just be like I I vote for this and let's look at how much money did it make to go in. There's actually a few specific criteria. This is where things start to get a bit more academic so Are four major points that they look at when deciding if a game could be or should be inducting the video Game Hall of Fame. The first is its icon status. Is this a game that is widely recognized and remembered. So Mario Brothers to? Unfortunately, don't think Is in there. I think that there's too many. I think you that's a true state. I can't argue that all right? Yes, Longevity. The game is more than a passing fad and enjoyed popularity over time. Sorry, fall guys.

"So like, why would the NFL pick that fight? But not this fight, so and I don't have an answer to that. But I think the answer is obvious. I think the answer is obvious, because when it came out, and they were accused of it that affected the product on the field and with the product on the field comes I'm sorry gambling dollars involved even though the NFL wasn't in bed with any of that. What happened in the Washington's workplace has nothing to do with the product on the field, and therefore feeling like your game is is cheated a little bit. That's why they went after them. Well, no right. You can go. You can go after them like theatrically and then have your experiments and all your report and and and end up with this end up with this kind of conclusion where I'm not telling you what happened. We're going to find them. No one's losing anything and we move on in the game wasn't really that compromise that that's what I thought was going to happen to flake it. I mean, they the NFL did not relax in any way. I mean, there were going after Tom Brady's cell phones like they did. They went after those guys like they were the enemy. And this does not feel like Dan Snyder was the enemy. And maybe he should be more than anybody else. Because he seems to be as despicable as the economy. He might be the least liked owner. There are four major leagues. No one likes Dan Snyder. No one defends Dan Snyder, except the NFL here seems to be defending him in the way they shouldn't at all, like, yes, football on the field has a different importance. But I mean, as you said, these are people, it's their careers. It's their emotional well being. It's their physical well being. And it just seems like the NFL got, you know, got to the finish line and went men. We can't let anybody know how bad this was. So let's give him this, but not that and we'll, you know we'll pretend he's going to disappear for a couple of months. Then he'll come back and they can tell us all the things that Ron Riverine company are now doing it. Maybe those things are real and things will be better and things will be fixed. That would be the good news out of this. But this is basically Dan Snyder getting off scot free for being and running and creating a bad organization that harmed a lot of people who now say they were slapped in the face. That's kind of what we've seen with gaming, and I say Esports for the last couple of years where you're seeing that cross-pollination of, you know, young professional athletes, like traditional sports that are, you know, either starting a sports teams or joining you sports teams and gamers in terms of the type of sponsorship in activations. Are getting four major brands where like they are like a culture of Acres of the day. So we find that like as an entertainment category, I think it went from being, you know, the the pool in the size of people playing has been huge for 20-plus years. I just think it kind of has now come where it went dead I'm still being this Niche, you know, perceived to be somewhat nerdy thing to to cool, basically. And just like entering a mainstream culture where you got Neymar with Ninja and you got obviously Drake when ninja and you got like that was actually like the really big cultural Tipping Point say from like our perspective, just where mainstream investors, who previously didn't care about, e-sports didn't understand it. Maybe they were, like investors of the game Publishers, but it really even understand what the game Publishers were doing. It was like that if she calls over that really just connected. The Two Worlds, four people and realize that as an entertainment category, this is probably something that they should be taking a closer look at. Another one used cds in digital another us blu ray digitals and the other one like vinyl and digital butler. You couldn't cross over and that's what like video games are. You've got four major players in this. And i say the four major players xbox nintendo playstation and pc this year ubiquitous right. He's also mobile but mobile. Impede sometimes have some overlap. So i'm not really going to get to the nuances of the mobile specie. So we'll say five then because mobile is a little bit different so you have those five and they all have their own platforms. Like you can't crossover. Except for xbox and pc can in a lot of ways even wyan even within those platforms even within the playstation line up between ps one ps by or in es to switch or xbox to xbox series x again play the xbox game on xbox series x. I can't play a nintendo game on a switch. It's on the online platform. whatever If i if. I want to go back and play does as an example the jurassic park video game for super nintendo after super nintendo in any get the cartridge and plug it in and do all hookups. Anything messed up i did. There's no retro Accessibility for new console or for any consuls. And some of this is a. It's the same way if you had a vinyl you can't play the final on a cd player though but you can't convert violent. Yuqing hammered the vinyl to an mp three and listened to the mp three on a modern music player. Would you can't do a video games. You can not legally well. I mean the legal. The legal of the vinyl onto a modern is also sketchy it. But i think they're a little bit more defy. I think music. It actually is legal right. Well it is also I can't convert whatever i can't take learned scattered out unified can't take learn. Scared album converted into three. It will be three the that version get an album is still available on mp three music platform formulas too. But i mean things that aren't there a lot of albums that came out years ago that were never updated to modern platforms. You another i care. And the problem with like jurassic park as the is the issue is. It's not just a video game so the super version has some like it's an intendo gate. Nintendo doesn't own that particular game They just own the rights to put it on their console in some ways. The biggest problem is wide. Nintendo wouldn't have it on their agenda switch online or updated is they couldn't make a new version of it because they don't own the game and getting it onto a free online services an issue because it's a licensed gay and.

JBS Resumes Most Meat Production After Weekend Cyberattack
"Most production after a weekend cyber attack, but experts say those vulnerabilities exposed remain far from result. JBs notified the government. The ransom demand came from the ransomware gang revolt, which is believed operate out of Russia. If so, it would mark the latest cyberattack ahead of President Biden summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin. White House press secretary Jen Psaki says President Biden plans to confront the Russian president. The president has launched a rapid strategic review to address the increased threat of rent somewhere to include four major lines of effort, disruption of ransomware infrastructure and actors working closely with the private sector. We will work in partnership with them. That is something that this administration has done ah, bit differently than in the past in working to find best practices, ensuring that Private sector entities have a seat at the table, and we can work in close coordination building an international coalition to hold countries who harbor ransom actors. Accountable mean this attack is an example of how this is not just a problem in the United States. These are actors that are working to get into systems around the world. This was a company obviously based in Brazil, but Australia was a major It was impacted. Also by this is the U. S going to retaliate and realistically, what options are on the table is a counterattack and option. Would you expect this to be one of the issues that the president will discuss with President Putin at the summit? That will be two weeks from today. If my if my calendar is correct in my mind's on in terms of considerations of, you know, we're not taking any options off the table in terms of how we may respond. But of course, there's an internal policy review process to consider that where in direct touch with the Russians as well to convey our concerns about these reports? President Biden says he is considering retaliation for the attacks. When pressed by reporters, he slyly admitted With a smile that Putin is trying to test him. Thank you for listening. Please

"Obviously, that would be an incredible story at age 50 if he's able to do it. Yeah. Right? I have a question about Rory McIlroy. Um, does he does he win all the tournaments that we don't gamble on? Because I am trying to figure out like I feel like the however long we've been doing this, you know, for for pretty recently, I feel like we all pick him. He's almost always one of the favorites. And he's a disaster. I just don't understand. Like does he win when I'm not watching? Because I just can't. I can't. I can't understand how he was the betting favorite for this term. I think you're I think you make a great point. I probably should not have taken him is one of my pick. But I was sucked in by the fact. That he won when it was last at this venue. I probably if I'm full honesty about it had been at a different venue. I probably would not have taken him for your exact reason. But I think I got sucked in a little of thinking like, well, he's coming back. You, of course, that he had one on previously the course was playing totally different the year he wanted. There was a lot of rain. The greens were super soft, and it was like target practice for him. Now this this year, obviously it's dry and it's windy. He just We talked yesterday. He gets off the terrible start. I mean, it's a great point. So we've been doing this since what 2013 Yeah, we've got you've got it, but he's got four majors. Couple of PJ's. You got what you owe us open. So I mean, what would be in some women? Sure. Hey, has four. He has four You want, um somewhere and he's by the way is even today. He's even right now He's not dead. Right so he could he could still make the cut for sure, but no it in terms of like, really being there. You're right. I think your points Correct. It's probably Something that we shouldn't do. And there's of are picking of guys that Z, referring to, I mean, Gotta wait until he ends up. Getting back into the winner's circle in a big time event. I think he hasn't done that in a while. And you well, you did win two weeks ago on tour. So that probably about the wooden vault that vaulted him up to the top of the betting on the tournament. He won at Keogh. I think he shot 75 on the Friday And still won. So, Yeah, I don't rule him out. The guy gets hot. Ryan Kojiro with us. How are you looking with your picks? Brian? So you got 10 guys for this? That's what we do it the major's bet. And I see the shambo and near the top out at the top, but you don't have capita. I saw your tweet also that your field your group was pretty good overall. But just not near the lead. So how many guys do you have with a? You know what you would say is a realistic chance of winning right now. Probably. I'm down to two. I think I put hobbling into shambo right? Those are the two that I think are within striking distance or reasonable striking distance record time minus one, Morikawa. Yeah, but I didn't take him. Yeah. Oh, what's sorry? Yep. Thank you Know, I I think it's down to the shambo and hobbling, I think I guess Overall, I'm proud of the fact that I didn't pick any guys that have been terrible for whatever that's worth. But Going back, Torto. You're a point. I'm picking guys to win, so it might not turn out that great even though Maybe we should have a bonus of all your guys have make the country or something right way, adding an adept him too are going just just play. Just play draftkings. All your guys make the cut. I'm arguing, even though I know it's ineligible for me for this tournament, but idea for hearing that is there a small payout If every single one of you guys makes the cut Brian, There's a process you know that there's a process we have to talk about it. We'll take it down The hall Control board have to approve it. I know I gotta go. That's right. Right. There's a school teacher for you. Right. Okay. Well, let's talk about capital here, so he's not on your roster. But he's 14 majors himself were just talking about him before you join. He's 31 You win. Five. You're coming up on names. Everybody knows Like Faldo and then Torino and Arnold Palmer, who won seven majors in a very different era, But he's 31 years old. He's coming up on names. Everybody knows if he wins here. I mean, the guy is putting a career down, that's all. Definitely is. If somehow he wins this week, that would be a third PGA Championship, right? Pretty impressed. That is impressive, and that's kind of what you said. Met. Would you say he's automatic Hall of Famer already? At this point with four majors, Probably And I don't know Hall of fame to you. I don't know standards really for Well, you know what Women standard for Hall of Fame so much more difficult than the men's. Like Nicholson. I thinks already been inducted into the Hall of Fame, so I think I think for the men, it's a little more Based upon just opinion versus like an actual box that you have to check in order to be eligible. I think if you were from here, he would be in for the Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame. I think that I would say confidently. Yes, I would agree with that. But he you know what, Like that's a guy that I kind of go back and forth and whether I like him or I don't I like that. He speaks his opinions. But sometimes I disagree with his opinion, so I kind of want to root against them. He feels like he's very standoffish. She actually really seems like you could care less what any other golfers think about him. I guess you could say is an admirable trait in some sense. Well, Brian, think compared. Think about Tiger for this because But I'm on a different level. I gotta go on a global scale tiger, you know, Sort of. I wouldn't say exactly that uses exactly the same words as you did, but he was just in there to dominate them. And Capta. Might you tell me the capital might have some sort of the same kind of agenda. When it comes to the competition, the other players I would agree, and he's mentioned that he's really he looked up to Tiger quite a bit for that. So If there's a If there's a guy that I would say has the Mental and no one who have what Tiger head just the aura of walking on the T like he had an edge already. But I think kept is Probably at the top of my list if I was going to pick guys Whether it's physical, mental Attitude. Swagger like you. I think he's got all that going for what For whatever you value for that engulf. I think I'd probably put him at the top of that list. And the fact that he does say controversial things I think is still is okay. I don't mind guys sharing their opinion. Even if you disagree like I At least I want to give him credit for that because Most guys don't say anything, and that's what I always liked about McElroy he sometimes we'll say something that's not Quote, you know the PR thing to say, and I respect that. And some of these guys realizing that they do have a lot of influence like Can change something if they want to. Whether it's Golf wise or even, you know, socially or something like that. They want to say something. They've got the power to do it. Some guys don't really It's not their thing kept good, McElroy some of these guys there. They do that and I respect that for for both of them. Last thing here, Dustin Johnson finished six over. Cut his five over right now. I don't know if it'll move and not sure what they're saying. But I saw that if Johnson doesn't make the cut He'd be the first world number one. Missed two in a row at majors since Greg Norman. Wow. Now that's tight. That's a lot of tiger years where I mean he wasn't missing two majors cuts in a row. But still like that Z 1997. Yeah, that's amazing. The other staff that I was hoping to share that maybe looks like it won't happen..

If i'm a tiger woods fan and he's taken on rory mcilroy who have if i remember the gallery and i don't like rory mcilroy but i'm lovin me some tiger and i want tiger to win and i dislike rory the way i dislike the toronto maple leafs and why not being allowed to cheer against roy mcelroy. And i don't want. I don't think you want to get to a stage where you know. He heals one. And you're like i should. I don't want to get to a scenario where you're yelling in his backswing but if he does he'll one i should be able to go. Yeah i guess. Yeah i guess i mean the games always. It's always been based on the utmost respect for the game You know the that the game the players the players don't make the game. There's an honor system about calling penalties on yourself You're you're supposed to be polite You're supposed to congratulate the golfers when they make a good shot so it might be a bit of a stretch until you get to the right exact. That's why i've always. I'm always capelle by that. Everybody loves the ryder cup. All the behaviors and yet it's so verboten when it comes to any other event it's interesting to me away from the round stevia might be cool. Might be cool. You know That that you know steve. Warren and jungle were down the stretch. You know in the us open and and more ends up winning knocks into the ten footer to win by shot over jerome and then the next day on twitter ugo kicked your fucking c. I fans would love that. Absolute they would they would. And that's syndergaards point. I think yeah yeah. Bring it on. Bring it on for sure. But i think yeah and i think there's a there's all kinds of sacred things that need to be challenged now because when you're looking at you know what what the wheel the way the world is. Now it's different and were still applying the same ideologies to the four major sports golf and all the other great sports that are out. There were still applying the same nineteen fifties ideologies two things. When in fact you know people under thirty years of age. They think entirely differently now. They just want to be entertained..

Headline Capitalization is a free headline checker that correctly capitalizes titles for all your writing. Article Title and Headline Capitalization Rules When it comes to creating headlines and titles for articles, it can get confusing what words to capitalize and what words should remain lower case. There are several styles of title and headline capitalization which different publications may use. For the most part, there are general rules that all publications follow with a few minor deviations between them. For those who write, it's important to understand these rules about which words to capitalize when creating headlines and titles. Major Headline Capitalization Styles There are four major title capitalization styles. These are: AP Style APA Style Chicago Style MLA Style There is no single authoritative style guide when it comes to capitalizing headlines and titles, although some are used for certain types of writing. For example, the Associated Press Stylebook (AP Style) is often used by news organizations, the Chicago Manual of Style (Chicago Style) is more comprehensive for in-depth writing, and the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers (MLA style) is used for academic papers. While this is where the different styles are usually used, it's not mandatory to use a particular style for a particular type of writing. If you are unsure of which style to use, the best method is to seek out which style the course, editor, or teacher prefers so that you know, and then use that specific style. If you're in a certain field, you should learn the style that's most prominent in your field. For example, the AP Style for those in journalism, and the MLA style if you're in academics. In all cases, it's best to ask for each project to make sure since each style has its own rules. General Headline Style Rule: Title Case How to write headlines and titles is usually referred to as "headline style" or "title case." As mentioned, all styles are not the same, but there are a few general rules they all follow. These are: Capitalize the first word in the title Capitalize the last word in the title Capitalize the important words in the title The first two points are clear cut and easy to follow. The next question is, what are considered "important" words in a headline? In most cases, they include the following words: Adjectives (beautiful, large, hopeful) Adverbs (forcefully, silently, hurriedly) Nouns (computer, table, manuscript) Pronouns (they, she, he) Subordinating conjunctions (as, so, that) Verbs (write, type, create) Words in Headlines That Aren't Capitalized The above words are the ones generally capitalized, so what words are usually written in lowercase when creating headlines and titles? These tend to be shorter words (under five letters long). The following types of words are generally not capitalized: Articles (a, an, the) Coordinating Conjunctions (and, but, for) Short (less than 5 letters) Prepositions (at, by, from) Alternative Headline Capitalization: Sentence Case One style of headline and title capitalization which doesn't follow the rules is Sentence Case style. This is where editors decide to write titles as if they were a typical sentence. In this case, the first word of the headline would be capitalized while the rest of the title would be in lower case, except for proper nouns. Below are a few examples of Sentence Case style headlines: How to properly write article titles A review of a hike at Grand Canyon national park The best value meal when eating at Chipotle Referencing Titles of Publications No matter what style of headline capitalization you decide to use in your writing, if you ever reference the title of a book, article, or journal, you should write the title of it as it has been written, even if it happens to be a different style than you're using for your writing. You should not change them to fit your style, and they should always be written as they appear in the publication. Copyright © Headline Capitalization 2021. All rights reserved.

Why It’s Important To Flex in and Out of Ketosis
"Acidic toast this is really an ideal state however we don't wanna be in kito sus all the time and that's what you talk about in your book hito flex so let's talk about that. Yeah exactly so when we look at the our ancestors yes they all did. They didn't stick with kita long term whenever they had the opportunity when they came across honey or tubers or fruit they would eat that they didn't look at their tribe and say we don't eat. That were key they would eat that. So there's not one culture in the history of this world that stuck with the same diet long. It's nine hundred till the last fifty years or so that we have this new problem. People are sticking with the same foods in the same diet which were not designed to do. It doesn't create any kind of adaptation in the body and we know we create a change and we force adaptation. Good cells. get stronger and bad cells. don't adapt and that changes this for measles right this hermetic curve that we start to see benefits so key flex the reason i call kita flex is because we want to actually teach the body to burn fat and had that as your primal fuel source but not the only fuels for us. We wanna have times where we actually flex avocados inflex back in. And that's the premise behind the book. So i and. I've seen four major problems with those people who stay with keita long-term and people always ask me david. What is long term. I would say anything more than about six months. Strict could be considered long-term number one. I've seen fat loss actually slowed down. So if you wanna lose weight on kita which can be done. The body will want actually preserve that precious fuel source fat. The number one priority for the body is survival. You know if you've only been giving fat as fuel source it's gonna want to preserve that fuel source so i've seen weight loss and some of the results slowdown when you to regiment with it. A number two We know that the thyroid gland produces t four hormone which is that inactive forum that needs to be converted to t three which is the active form that has actually used by the cells. T. three is so important. That every single stock has the receptor site for the t. Three hormone in helps the cells produce. Energy helps you burn fat helps you feel good now. What helps make that. Conversion has actually insulin. So when you don't when you have chronically low levels of insulin from script ketosis end or too much. Fasting that conversion could become compromised. So those are a couple reasons why we want to actually flex in and out of

"Groupie is often referred to as the golden age of rally racing. It was by the faa in nineteen eighty two and its rules gave birth to an incredibly powerful and ultimately dangerous new era of rally with very fee regulations to keep things in check. And just for those. Who haven't who. This may your first episode. Maybe this is the first thing you've ever heard about racing. Rally racing is not traditional circuit racing with multiple cars on track rallying point to point cars. Go one at a time. And their time into between the two points and over the course of event the team with the lowest time wins. Just a little background for you. I'm obligation requirements. Meaning the number of units per year that the car manufacturer was required to produce each year to enter a car were reduced to a paltry two hundred vehicles compared to the five thousand cars a year in group and and group a i take building materials. Were now allowed as well. As unrestricted turbocharged boost basically while previous rally regulations had tried to keep the cars somewhat close to production versions in group. B there are almost completely unleashed for example and the year before group groupie the average rally car produced about two hundred fifty horsepower but by nineteen eighty six the final year of group b. That average was up to five hundred

"I think i brought this up to you on tv side once but it has to be attributed question as anyone else done cardinals baseball rams football and blues hockey. Are we pretty sure about this. That you're the only one that would have done that. That's a great question. Martin i very well could be. I certainly did a lotta rams games. During their years in saint louis Many many cardinals games as well and of course the blues. So you'd have to go well into the archives but I guess i could be right at the top of that list. How about mizzou if you ever done them as you. I don't think of you watch college either. I could be wrong about that. But i'm gonna guess you'd never done them. Mizzou football basketball is that right. I have not. I did a kansas football game. would fox. We used to have some of the bcs package so. I worked at kansas virginia tech orange bowl at one point but never worked zoo game. Okay well put that on your list and found how about this one in college i went to nyu and we were in the university athletic association along with wash u. So i did do a basketball game at wash u. back in the late eighties. See decay albert. Saint louis roots run deep going back to these lutely burke during that trip for the wash u. and while you basketball game. It was the first and only time that i've ever gone to the top of the arch. Why that was a memorable trip to saint louis for sure i read that. I think you said that baseball is the hardest to call. I would guess hockey just because of the pace in a lot of times because of the names involved in. This could be a wikipedia mistake. You never know what you read online. But is that accurate you think in terms of like which is the toughest have been asked that question a lot martin. I think it's the most challenging of the four major sports for somebody who doesn't do one hundred sixty two games a year. I've done hockey longer than any other sport. I started back in one thousand nine hundred ninety with the baltimore skipjack of the american hockey league. So it's thirty one years between age l. hockey nhl hockey starting in ninety two. So people usually expect me to say that hockey is the most difficult the hardest the most challenging to me. It's the easiest. I guess it's similar to riding a bike because i've done it for so long and i think the pace is something that actually leads to that becoming my answer Especially on radio. I've done a lot of hockey on the radio a lot of hockey on tv. And when you're calling again on the radio and you have to be so descriptive you get into the flow into the rhythm into that pace and it's probably the sport that sounds the most exciting on the radio because of how fast it is basketball similar to hockey as far as in hockey the pucks in action for the sixty minutes of the game in basketball. The ball is inaction for the entire forty eight minutes. There are more whistles. More stoppages basketball football is the most rhythmic is one play. And then it's twenty five or thirty seconds it's another play and then it's twenty five or thirty seconds baseball to me and i usually work about anywhere between ten and fifteen games a year. didn't work last year obviously due to the pandemic and i was in the hockey bubble in edmonton but to me. Not doing a lot of baseball games every year..

If there is one you know. It's tough to say. Because i look at the four major sports and i don't think any of them have fundamentally changed in terms of their viewership. We know numbers. Were down for the nfl. The superbowl wasn't anywhere. Close to what we've seen in the past but people are going to bet on football on no matter what you did to provide obstacles or restrictions in that regard. I honestly think baseball can be the biggest beneficiary from it. Because you're talking about not having a whole lot of competition especially during the slower summer months this year. The anomaly because i think the nba playoffs go into late july. Or whenever the hell. They're going to manage that up. But you're talking about you know once the nba and the nhl wrap up and maybe a little bit of horse racing you know major league. Baseball becomes a standalone entity from late. June through the dog days of summer when you're talking about first inning. Will there be a run score. I five inning strikeout. Props that major league baseball has a huge six week window. That if they really wanted to make a major push that they could keep all of those gamblers who might go and normally we take summers off fully engaged. Find different ways to bonus and that's part of why you've seen you know the major league baseball go with digital show that will focus a little bit on gambling shirt to incorporate some dfs components. But i think that's a sport can do it one sport that i can speak to that. I know is openly embraced in his trying. To figure ways out is actually nascar. I've had extensive conversations with some of the folks there. I've covered the sport for the last handful years and it was really a niche for me but they know that most casual fans aren't going to tune in and watch a race for three and a half to four hours they have to find other ways to try and get them involved. And whether it's betting on the outright market or betting head to head matchups or anything else that's out there stage race stage racing to take advantage of folks to get them involved for a couple hours and all of a sudden you find fan was watching a race for ten minutes starts watching for twenty starts walking for an hour and suddenly can't leave his her tv every saturday or sunday for thirty six races.

"Forecasters say hurricane season which starts June 1st this year is likely to be busier than usual. NPR's Greg Allen reports. Researchers at Colorado State University are projecting 17 named storms and eight hurricanes. The seasonal outlook, released by Colorado State University says there may be four major hurricanes with the nearly 70% chance One of them will make landfall in the U. S. Researchers say a major factor they don't expect an El Nino this year. That's a climate pattern in the Pacific that typically makes it harder for hurricanes to form in the Atlantic. Half a world away and in the Atlantic water temperatures are expected to be warmer than usual in the areas were hurricanes typically form If that forecast holds up, it would be the sixth year running with above average hurricane activity last year broke all records with 30 named storms and six

The Impact of Australian High Performance Computing in the Coming decade
"Joining us in the podcast. Today we have professor shawn smith that director of national computational infrastructure and see i and he's also a professor or computation of nanno matera science and technology at australian national university. Professor smith is also a fellow of the royal australian chemical institute a fellow american is association for the advancement of science a fellow of the institute of chemical engineers and he will be sharing with us the highlights of high performance computing at nci. Thank you professor for joining us in the podcast. Today i thought we kick off by taking a look at the evolution and development in australia. Research backed by high performance computing and data infrastructure which plays a pivotal role in national research. But also have wide ranging economic and social impacts. I'm so for example as you pointed out in your presentation at supercomputing asia Looking at the year two thousand twenty the events challenging for many with the pandemic but particularly so for australia with the bushfire which i thought i very salient. Examples of where policymakers and help provide as neat fayza reliable information to get a sense of what is yet to come to better manage the situation but beyond these examples is also cancer research. Physics et cetera. So for our listeners. Can you tell us more about you know audi australia. Research are backed. By high performance. Computing infrastructure have evolved over the decades. You certainly are one constructive way to approach that question. Jain may be. If if i summarize the way in which australia to tijuana one phones compute facilities have evolved over the past decade which gives a flavor of how that the sick to hebron australia has developed in the major demise signs that have been really key in driving it forwards so we have to tier one facilities in australia One is the australian at the australian national university campus. Here in canberra the other one is the posey supercomputing center in person west australia. So both of these centers were set up in their initial in the current model as it were nearly a decade ago and when nci was stood up in its current form. The australian national university has long long history of computing. But the carrots. Nci was put in place around about twenty eleven two thousand twelve and we build a new data center on campus and put in the previous supercomputing facility which was called ryan now when i was set up with financial input from the federal government. They then we're really looking for a degree of leverage of their investment And so the federal contributions to were helped to facilitate the standing up of the big facility and the big shane And the new data center per se and they contribute a certain amount of our national expenses. But i asked us dan to negotiate the larger part of operating expenses. With am i just stike holders. And in the case of nci. This was done by substantial collaboration with four major organizations. I was the australian national university. Which is our organizational host. It was the csi. Giovanni australia and the bureau of meteorology so the one university into three big government agencies collaborated in a way that allowed to build out and develop and the common thread across those three. Big agencies was really climate weather simulation and geospatial science earth sciences and so for example the the great majority of large-scale climate modeling research is done at nci. And it's done. In collaboration between the bureau of meteorology the csi and the university sector which has some substantial activity also in that mind so nci became if you will the collaborative sandpit that these organizations could actually work together on very large common data sets in degenerate very large data. It's through the simulation work and the the other component of that was with geoscience australia. They are the secretaries for the international agreements which bring labs scout satellite imaging data four alpine out of the globe down to australia and nci was tasked to work with Jason social strata. To figure out how to host is enormous data sets and make them there in available findable so forth and accessible and utilize -able

"Happened has opened a judicial panel acquired. But that's a story for another day. The core is. This is a great trae similar to my findings stats. Nigeria's of national security is so politically tainted that there's perhaps the limits to the to physical violence that the government would miss out against citizens organized police force to crush any sorts of political opposition. Or any sort of headway and sort of disturbances to the stability of the central regime. The leckie massacres. is actually a product of this another Where the government remains wholly focused control of political power in the center but delegates with a very freehand the the fighter repression pop any political dissent to specialized units will get the army would apiece force who accountable to anyone domestically or internationally are commit. Violence insists however depletes burger. Listened british colonial rule. So we're ause unit police squidward where them all politically align to Give him artie or they just politically aligned to just funding from the central government. They are allegiance to whoever is in power that point in time until the niger. Police force before independence owed. Its allegiance to the british governor. General at the time and insolence switch to the prime minister and said these forces are up don't necessarily have any political leanings towards parties as long as a party can take over control of the center. Their allegiance is to the continuation of the units fire funding arm and proximity to power. I constitutionally does Is their remedy for for this. Because obviously i mean i'm telling you this because constitutionally we have the almost identical problems in iraq the difference being that we don't have a specialized unit. The infants is that we have so Constitution that allows you know these leeway for for certain abuses of power to happen and so. Do you think that there is a remedy for this or do you think that is something. That's become too ingrained in the political sphere. In in in nigeria. Bring up the constitution a because niger tying has had four major revisions to its constitution. And at this point in time we're acting another nineteen thousand nine of metro constitution saddam. Last time we had an overhaul the interesting nigeria's constitution is that through the strings of military dictatorships firm nineteen sixty six all the way to nineteen ninety eight these dictatorships came in an either suspended the constitution completely or so to be bright entire constitution points in history where the supreme sovereign power was a federal military governed military council or prime minister or president of these institutions in their pollution actually entrenched and enshrined the interests of those parties though were able to violently take over political power and so when we talk about international talk about human rights and the rights of peaceful assembly and rights to political asian in nigerian is override in provision privatized stability of prioritize mitigating or minimizing sort of disruption to the country and so these provisions were actually introduced by military declarations miniature acts in the ridge leaders and a lot of these things have actually been passed into the nights nights so looking for remedies to this fisk repression of political dissent within the nigerian constitution. Itself is actually a futile exercise. However negeria is state parties cape a lot of international treaties agreements exist in a world where there's north instead become crystallized over time that meant to protect human rights in the individual agreement injury as pocket to is the room that which essentially establishes international criminal prosecution and protects the rights of citizens especially citizens so they're protesting peacefully. Now even let me difficult to propose political reform domestically. Niger is still constrained. But provision up to robes Until going into a peaceful protests up with meditated aid of shooting thou protesters with live ammunition goes against his grave violation of the room. Statistics that is why people have cold for national criminal investigation again. Like the nigerian constitution. International criminal investigation isn't something that can effectively deterred a government carrying them for precipice titties. As matter of fact is carried out much more grievous violations of the In recent years heard a buckle haram the terror deterrent organization in northeastern major when butter haram disintegrated into a full blown insurgency. Many parts of northeast injury puts under emergency legislation under state's emergency and according to amnesty international Lot of society organizations in humanitarian organisations the ground that would bring violations carried out against human rights of not bystanders sympathizers. Took around and face of it. It doesn't seem like a big deal those award Insurgency but why is it permitted that a government can some early execute in flattened villages that they suspect of being sympathetic to the political aim. Cement insurgent group take an active potent insurgency. And if there's a suspicion perhaps people have the right look. Perhaps they do have the rights to face. You process it. The rights to be investigated through judicial system. It shouldn't be that the states can go in there and carry out. Extra-judicial killings international criminal court at least since the twenty fifteen almost once every year has had a reason to open preliminary investigations into the niger government but the thing about international criminal court is that the principle of complementarity this principle states.

Houston bar struggles with how to enforce mask wearing after state mandate was lifted
"Greg Abbott lifted coronavirus restrictions. He made the announcement in a restaurant. The governor is ending a mask mandate and encouraging businesses to return to 100% capacity. How does that plan look to the staff at a restaurant? The governor did not visit. That's where Houston public Media's Katie Watkins begins her report. They're going around at Neil's Bar in Houston's East downtown neighborhood. A sign on the door reads. No shirt, no shoes, no mask, no service. But bartender Kristin Farmer worries the end of the statewide mask mandate may make that harder to enforce. Even prior to this, it was difficult sometimes to get customers to wear masks. So Going forward. I feel like it's gonna be More so under Governor Greg Abbott's new order businesses, Concil enact their own mask requirements and safety protocols, the bar farmer works that will still require masks and social distancing. But she fears the governor's message may further embolden anti masters and put people like herself who haven't been vaccinated at risk. We're obviously in a position where the vaccine isn't available Death but are trying to still work, so it would be cool if More people were vaccinated before we started opening up everything and Not taking just the basic steps. Currently, just 7% of people living in Texas are fully vaccinated. Still, some praise the governor's decision to allow businesses to operate at full capacity that is going to be tremendous and very, very necessary for our industry. That's Melissa Stewart with a Greater Houston restaurant association. She says. The statewide mask mandate was helpful when it was stay wide, and everybody had to do it. Was easier for staff members, frankly, to enforce it says it wasn't a question. That's why restaurant owner Alex Brennan Martin says he's making mass mandatory for employees but not for customers. Those strongly encouraged. It's become contentious and putting our employees are managers myself. In the position of enforcing those regulations, especially on an issue that seems to be just about 50 50 when you talk to folks and is highly emotionally charged It's a difficult thing to ask your employees and management to do. Houston has recorded all four Major Cove in 19 variants and medical professionals warn that loosening restrictions now will set back recovery efforts. Dr Joseph our own is the chief medical officer at United Memorial Medical Center. His main concern is another spike in hospitalizations. The moment I heard about these information of the governor was saying, I immediately called for a meeting here in the hospital on talking to the rest of the leaders of the hospital. We leave. From initial plans. So what we're going to do because we think we're going to have a large number of patients coming because of this, don't not wear a mask request by the governor, he says. These plans include stocking up on more PPE having more nursing personnel and even getting additional ventilators. Other frontline health care workers like ICU nurse Yvette Polo, Mackey share his concern. Colbert is nowhere near over. There's still people know ICUs like today that are dying that will die tomorrow that will die the next day. The next day, weeks and weeks to come still because of covert. She's worried about the extra physical and mental toll. This decision will take on her colleagues. Who have already been caring for a never ending stream of covert patients for nearly a year for NPR news. I'm Katie Watkins in Houston. The

Yes you guessed it the international criminal court yet. The thought the pictures On twitter from everybody. But i stayed home this time. But i guess we watch the same thing The judgment of dominic ongoing. Why don't you do some steph pedia for us and tell us who. This person is what he was charged with. What a bit of what happened. So this case is on dominik oregon his now in his forties but according to the judgment and the defense he was taken as a child soldier by the elleray. The ugandan lord's resistance army rebel group led by joseph conan owen. Himself started out as a child soldier. But kind of rose through the ranks of the ira from his twenty s he basically led one of the four major operational fighting units of the laura the senior brigade. He came to the court in two thousand fifteen. After either his defense as surrendering the court or the prosecution said that he was captured or transferred and he's been charged with about seventy counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity. There's a plethora of counts launch involving sexual and gender based violence including legal. I like forced marriage and forced pregnancy. He's also charged with shaking child soldiers and in short In this judgment he was found responsible for most of this even though the defense had tried to argue that because of the drama being himself a child soldier in the way that he really couldn't tell right from wrong and he was so under the influence of joseph cohen that he was actually acting under arrest because he's felted he could be killed at any moment. Let's listen to bit of how the presiding judge described. What happened in uganda and he made a nice narrative explaining a lot of things from the from the victim's point of view of what you don't really hear so much in these in these kind of judgments so let's listen to that. Throughout the period of the charges the ellery killed and injured a large number of civilians in numerous attacks on individual civilians dp camps and other civilian locations in uganda in response to the question whether shooting civilians during the course of an attack would constitute an offence.
