"Let's go back to mars and talk about this this test flight. That's coming up soon for ingenuity. The news i hear is that they have dropped the helicopter from the belly of the based perseverance and it is getting ready to be ramped up. Almost literally exactly. That's right a tweet. From nasa jet propulsion laboratory. Which are this was the weekend. I liked very much. It said mars helicopter touchdown confirmed. It's two hundred ninety three million miles or four hundred. Seventy million million kilometer journey aboard nasa perseverance and it with the final drop of four inches ten centimeters from the rovers belly to the surface of mars today next milestone survive the night. And that's because as of. I think it was saturday. The ingenuity helicopter has been now relying on. Its own power for the heaters that keep the electronics war because until then it was taking power from perseverance itself now tell its own and so it relies on the batteries the internal batteries and the solar panel which sits on top of the the two rotor blades. So hopefully that will keep going. Well the heater apparently keeps the inside. The about seventy degrees celsius forty five degrees fahrenheit because the temperature on mas drops to way way below zero it can be as low as minus ninety celsius about one hundred thirty minus hundred thirty fahrenheit. Early Spring Means 'Last Call' for Transplanting
"Now i know that this is the time of year when you say it's the last. Call for transplanting. Yes now by that. Meaning i. I'm looking at several things in my yard in the near area that are starting to put out leaf wise and or even flower wise. I would say that right now. You either have to get the transplant done. Sap like noon today or soon or wait until the new growth has hardened off with some sunlight some growth and so on. Because i think to move things when they're in full. Spring growth is is detrimental. Now i know it has been done in a commercial sense. You just have to do some things when you want to. Instead of when the plants best suited but I don't see any reason why why not i. I didn't do one of the things that's going to do this week. I have to fatten. sassy brilliant. Yellow chrysanthemums. I was going to move the monday Tuesday wednesday thirty now. We're at saturday. They're not done yet. I because they have only just started. Oh maybe an inch and a half to two inches of growth. I wouldn't hesitate to pop them out. Divide them down the middle etc and replant them but things that are coming on for example. I have peonies right now. That are oh at least ten inches and one plant is it features itself in good son and so on. It's almost knee-high already. Buds are setting. And then i have a japanese tree peony that has put out about. Oh three almost four inches a growth. The buds are starting to set. I would not even think about moving it at this point now i also have. Then what's a little little. It's a fern leafed peony that is Very very very fine. Textured leafs
Designing a Tilt Out Onion, Potato and Bread Box Pantry
"My mom wants a weird potato onion. Breadbox pantry thing. i'll idea. yeah yeah well the thing is. She's got a small condo not a lot of storage space and there's a couple of feet between a very skinny little pantry door and the garage door and there's like literally about twenty four inches of space so go over there and she's like i have an idea for this pantry thing that i want said. Show me where it goes. I take a look and she literally wants to take up the space between these two doors so that when they're both open there's almost hit this pantry thing And it's such a small kitchen. I'm like mom. You really think you really want this big thing show. Yeah this is a very popular thing. People have this so now. I'm designing a weird potato onion breadbox pantry thing and one of the things she wants on the bottom. I guess is like for the potatoes and onions to have those kind of tilt out containers it just trying to figure out how to do this. Of course first thing. I do i go to rock ler and see if they have any Hardware so they do have some of the reva shelf brand tilt mechanisms but a lot of times those are used for that little space In front of your sync which is typically wasted space. But you could put a little tray there for. I don't know brushes or you know washy things so i'm not sure that that's going to work. I guess i could also just kind of go with like regular hinges and come up with some kind of a stop system which might be the like probably the the no frills smart way to do it but anyway. I don't know so rock where does have some good hardware there for something like that and i might have to do that. But if anybody has feedback on this if you've done Not going to be too big. You know because a camping. There's no room for this thing in the first place but if you've done a till doubt system like that let me know what hardware us what works for you because i'm going to have to do something like that pretty soon.
Can I Grow Roses on the East Side of the House?
"Can you grow roses on the east side of the house and most definitely yes and explaining that by the same six. Our business I'm going to go to some old well. I may be told before some junk roses. The pots were broken. The plants were at best gimpy I bought him. This is a while back. I bought them for fifty cents. A piece. I worked up the soil in the apartment. We were living in On the east side of a one story with an overhang. I stayed out eight. I would maybe twenty four inches from the. The area really really amended the soil gutted in excellent shape planet six roses. Those scraggly half live plants ended up my shoulder to head height by fall absolutely magnificent because i well first of all i got him into good rooting situation then from there. They were getting full. Six hours of sun in the morning dawn until noon or so And and just flourished because they could make the food in the morning then. They were in a cooler less lighted area. So they could actually. Let's just say reserve some of the food they made and it made a better better better to the point. I was cutting not big bouquets and believe me were better but for for the start they had. They were beautiful in the fall.
NASA concerned about space's growing trash problem
"Is now more than 128 million pieces of trash. Left over from 128 Million, yes, left over from degrading satellites, byproducts of past flight missions and other cosmic accidents, and they just keep circling the earth. They just keep spinning around the earth. That is, um That's just the debris that we actually have the ability to detect. But here's the problem even like paint chips. Paint chips can actually be a fairly deadly if they are, you know, flying around at warp speed around the planet. And that's what that's what's happening out there and again when the astronauts get out onto the space station to try to fix stuff. I would think that you know, it could be kind of Bad situation. It was I quarter inch. Let's see. Uh oh. It was 2016 1 of the European Space Agency Astronauts took a picture of a quarter sized dent. It was in a glass window of the international space station. It turned out to be a tiny little teeny fleck of space junk. It was a paint flake. From a satellite. It was, they said few thousands of a millimeter across They said, not much bigger than a single cell of E. Coli. And it caused a quarter sized Out in a Pane of glass in one of the windows. I mean, seriously, You gotta watch out that something like that hit you in the helmet. You're not gonna have a good day. Um When it when something that small could do that much damage. Of course, the bigger stuff is going to be a really, really bad day 34,000 pieces of moderately sized debris. That's anything larger than four inches. Would just pretty much take out an astronaut. Anything bigger than that. Uh or anything bigger. I guess. Then the little tiny fleck of paint would be catastrophic. All comes down to full lot of philosophy, philosophy and velocity. Uh, Anything circling the orbit? With the space station. They're moving at 17,000 Miles an hour, 10 times faster. Than a speeding bullet. So the key is I think you wanna be rotating with the trash. Or simply tried to avoid it altogether.

that what is the sun level that the grass is getting full mornings on the nose in its shade in the afternoon you know I would be surprised if you would need if you needed some water that more than once a week it so long as we're getting water a good soaking you've got an interesting situation with the grass if I use a spray system and I'm spraying it I have to spray so many minutes just to get the water to get past the grass to get to the ground you know what I mean so much of that grass is going to catch the water so if you're actually getting the water down there deep enough once a week should be more than enough to keep that happy early morning sun even in this kind of weather it's not that hard so and afternoon shade once a week should be fine on that especially spending in a while no I think it'll be okay during then the the heat of summer that we're getting okay that's that's a pretty deep watering muscly Kerr a yes Sir or the goal should be when you turn your water system off if you come out twenty four hours later and you stick your fingers in the soil it should be damp about four inches deep if I feel dampness four inches deep that was enough water in now if you stick your fingers down there you go while it's it's really damn four inches deep you can either water for a slightly shorter period of time or you can go a little longer between watering whichever ways easier for you to do but that's the target twenty four hours later I can feel damn four inches deep okay great thank you you have time for one more quick question yes Sir got a Lacy bark in alarm that I took out of my flower bed and I put it in a pot last year and it grew fine got up to the little over a foot tall this year it hasn't grown at all in its not me not any and it started to lose some leaves I give it see we and super job about once a month and just kind of at a loss for what to do about it is it possible how big a part is it in a four inch pot our roots starting come out of the bottom of the pot no it's not rebound okay I made a bit of a loss for that too that would have been the two things that that would have come to mind is that at a foot tall it's got some routes to it it is possible that you might want to move it to a pot that allows for more in depth then actual diameter to it just so that it can start setting that more central route to it can you potted up to like a half gallon pot that may help it get going some more your sea weed and super thrive should be more than enough what about the environment is it getting like morning sun afternoon shade it's mostly a full day a son by moving it out of the full day of sun and it because that's smaller pot especially if the part is a darker color at all is not reflective the soil in that part can get hotter than the soil that would be in the ground so try a morning sun afternoon shade Ford it'll still grow it'll be plenty happy but it will take some of the stress off at such a young plant right thank you for your help I appreciate it yes Sir good luck a lovely spark arms I've got a beautiful one of my front yards so happy at its appearance how well it's grown it's giving me really nice cover just love the tree it's a good addition it's a good change of pace and though the pattern on it it looks like puzzle pieces up and down the barks very very pretty tree you know somebody was asking and I made the comment yesterday I am going to be cutting my tomatoes back up I have an indeterminate variety Julia it is still producing for me in this heat it produces a really small tomato but it still produces tomatoes I've got good growth low near the center of the plant good green grocer cut new shoots coming up I'm going to cut the top of the plant off this weekend well depends on if I can get to it today I'm gonna cut it back now I think it's a good window to do so I'm gonna cut the top part to the plant often I'm going to fertilize and I'm gonna let the lower leaves become new plant will let him grow up and become a whole new tomato for me so that when we get out of the the heat of summer when we get back broken into the G. it's nice weather it's fall it's slightly cooler during the day that tomato should fully erupt on me let's get another great rounded tomatoes done really well so far this year I've got bags of dried tomatoes so I'm going to be able to enjoy that in the cold of the winter and early spring we don't have to made us yet so yeah I'm thinking that it's about time to do the cut back it's the first of August I have a healthy plant I cut it back so that.

And it was a thing with a hinge right in the middle. And she turns it on and it just like Ben's now, and it just makes your knee bend, and she'd have to do that like a couple times a day for like twenty minutes just to keep her knee flexing. Yeah. And. I mean, I guess it paid off she's walking again. Man. I can't remember how how long Rene was laid up. I don't think very long. I think they wanted her to keep moving. Yeah. I saw those it was like DAT looks it looked like it was were like like you look at it. You can go. I think my foot is worse than before. I had surgery. Why did I do this? It's still really numb Rene set me up with a massage over the casino. Morongo maybe three weeks ago, and they just worked the fuck out of that foot, and it felt really good for about a week. Yes. It was it wasn't the first time. I've. Found down in high heels. I mean, I was living in New York. I commuted in them. I was running up and down subway stairs. So it's the kind of thing that is about to happen eventually, but that one felt particularly poignant because like you say because of the circumstances. And I thought gosh, you know, many of our modern articulations of feminism say we can choose whatever type of womanhood femininity we want. But sometimes it's also interesting to take a closer look at some of these choices were making and this is a bit strange. Why am I wearing this thing that's dangerous in this way? Yeah. I mean, this is this is the undeniable truth is that high heels cripple you they make it hard to run. And you also I feel stronger. I feel empowered when I'm wearing them only two, and I should say is also say in the book, of course, not every woman in these types of work settings where heels and even the UN Samantha power who was the UN ambassador for the United States at the time. "So commit a crime. We don't see him stalking her the way other movies portray a romantic pursuit of the time. But he is like he's taken an interest in her and he is trying to get her attention. And then eventually that does happen and they have like work, hang at a bar in which his friend MacKenzie says, like, hey, do you want a boyfriend? And we'll talk about this whole conversation when we get to the discussion. But basically she says that she's not really into having a boyfriend, but they he's like she's saying, but she doesn't mean it change her and my four inch Pena's are going to change your life. Woman mind doesn't know what it needs right. He's on the fly. Most flaccid man's ever. Take breath. She and she will be mine. Yes. So then they do start dating and throughout the whole course of their relationship, she tends to be kind of distant. She tells him that she's not really looking for anything serious. He is meanwhile in love with her whenever he thinks that she's on into him or whenever she breaks up with him, he falls apart and has to consult his toxic friends and his sister who is a character who has never existed in the world. So we'll talk about that child. Love of why we. Yeah, we'll get into that. We're just child trope ruins me. I hate it. So fucking lazy. They all go school together. Insufferable group of pretentious little like actually kids that should be that should be a YouTube video of cutting all of those kids and conversation. Yeah, there is horrible and the I feel like it's also we can when we talked about that character more in depth, I feel like she that characters fully exploited as a way to make Tom seem like not a bad guy because it's like, oh, he's so nice to his little sister and he's clearly a good role model for her and they're so close. But like if you deconstruct that even a little bit, it's just like the screenwriter grasping at straws like, how can I make this guy not look like shit had let me put the story out of order. Let me give him friends who are worse than him. Let me give him a sister. So it's like he doesn't hit all women. He has a sister, you know, says sneaky shit play here. So basically the story ends with them breaking up him being distraught over it, and then she gets engaged and then married and he's all like, but you said you didn't wanna boyfriend and now you're somebody's wife in what I don't understand what was wrong with me that you didn't love me. And then this sort of this is the catalyst that gets him to be like, oh, I should pursue my architect degree. I'm going to go on a job interview to become an architect there. And I want to be clear that we, I am fine with men in real life who are emotionally sensitive and vulnerable. I don't want to sound like we're being like, ooh, since you know. But the way that movies often depict that character is that they are still extremely toxic, those men. But we are led to believe because they're so sensitive and because they know how to write. I love you into a greeting card. We are supposed to sympathize with them so much. It's just a self serving sensitivity where only you're still selfish like it's like, no..

"Good morning welcome to kill BJ I wanted some advice on. Watering the lawn I got a couple of trees in a couple. Of bushes I got the broadleaf graphs and. It's not too big a lawn I don't have to oscillate it too much But is it like thirty minutes an hour hour and a half. Now what should okay well let's talk about the trees first and then the bushes and then the lawn because those, are three different watering techniques where. The grass might benefit from a certain amount during the week a tree would need a much deeper watering and the grass roots are going to. Be down there deeper so the tree would need to get. Water into the soil at least four inches deep starting at the soil line not at the mulch light. Self so watering around the, tree, using. A. Smaller sprinkler and focusing. Around the. Drip line and leaving. It on until that depth of moisture is. Obtained then that would be the proper way to water that. Tree you can use a timer to see how long the take. This you're talking about having an automated system Well no I just have the oscillating thing in the yard used drag around oh okay well in the best efficiency on that would of. Course to before ten AM or after seven pm otherwise you. Wind up with so much evaporation you don't get the depth of soil soak that you're looking for and For for that idea. Is, I. Turn, the sprinkler off and I come out a couple of hours later and ice hand trowel in. The soil and how deep the water went. I need to water long enough that I'm targeting that four inch deep For the for the turf deeper for the trees if you can and the other thing about that is is as the sprinklers running as soon as I see run off I want to turn it off I want to wait an hour and try it again if I can hit. A goal of about an inch of water per week for the turf I'll have really happy turf for the trees and establish tree or shrub An inch of water every couple weeks would be great. In this temperature and they will be less stressed by what's going on Gary I on Saturday, I try to water. Least an hour for the trees we'll check check, the soil profile after hours out take your trowel trout I know they're in the backyard it. Does start to puddle I do it at night because I figured that. Would let little more time to soak in certain evaporates quickly and the other thing about that is, the classic tuna can get a small tuna can that's empty put it where the oscillators goes and see does it fill in an hour because if it does that's an of water and move it around to other locations is the water coming out evenly in this place is another one and that'll help you develop a program for the, landscape because that's what you're asking is about what about, trees bushes and lawns the each have, their own individual needs but they can be met very. Easily especially the proper watering of the trees. And the bushes now you're buying much more time the tree although right now the conditions are extreme under, other conditions can probably go two weeks without. Any more watering and then you're just supplementing. What has evaporated you don't have. To water that deep again So it's a combination of testing some techniques. The lawn watering may be beneficial at one inch in the weeks time so you can go Saturday to, Saturday that's eight days but still you'll be. Able to manage the law improperly that way So looking at each one. Individually is the best way to go about this. And Jeff mentioned something about the soil being shiny you would back. Off on the watering at that time. That it's soak. In. This is flowerbeds. Around, the, bushes and then you. Water, again and then when it gets shining you back, away and as that happened several times now the water doesn't run off it actually goes into the story over. It'd be long okay thank thank. You okay, Scott thank you very much well.

All about air, movement and when you if you take it down to a, series of, PVC, pipes for instance writing you're reducing the airflow and you're causing the system you're creating like a. Back pressure coming in and so you don't want that the larger volume of air and a return air that you can get the better now in those areas where. "Yeah no kidding hey talk a little bit about planting depth we've been kicking this around all spring so far on corn and common theory is anywhere from one and a half to two and a half i mean what's ideal i mean what we like to talk about we we recommend two and a half and guessing about trench right so that the house thinking about this this morning that's a v not all your t's going to fall to the bottom of that trench so say you're trenches the two and a half your seed might be you know a quarter of inch higher and so you got to think about you wanted to make sure everything's at least two in our minds you know we have research trial data that proves that three and four is sometimes equal to two and one's always by far the worst and so i think about a plan going across the field and if you feel a farm one way and your plant in a different way your planner boxes are going up and down not all your seats hitting that same depth and you wanna make sure you're never going to that one and a half to that one it's box wait a minute three and four inches is that a thing we've done trials on it right until yeah we've actually done trials and one you'll usually lose a little bit of population but our main thing was the demonstrate that you're a lot better to air going deep than shallow corn yeah it was it was pretty wildest either the root systems on some of those and how far that push through but yeah we set our we set our kinsey plot planners diva she'd go and it was getting about three and a half four inches deep and it would but i mean the stands are really comparable you might hit thirty three thirty four thousand with that two and a half inch depth but we'd be getting thirty thousand even at the four inch step it'd be nice if we could feel cultivation get some rain cat kind of you know metal that stuff back out again that's not always the case so sometimes we're planting right at one right after the other almost yeah i mean that's kind of one of the big watch out to me and where i've seen growers running situations.

"I don't know i don't know about the stealing aspect of it but you got a situation a couple of years ago where fellow caught a fifty four inch muskie out of a lake up in oh gosh i don't know it was somewhere on the think around mckenry or somewhere up there yeah it wasn't a you know we thought at the time that was possibly a new state record was it was a few pounds shy but it was it was official wade's officially measured nationally it was looked at by illinois biologist and he measured it himself and he said as far as he knew it was longest muskie caught in illinois they knew anyway and it was it measured out officially a fifty four inches i think maybe thirty five pounds or between thirty five and thirty six and the fellow who caught it you know really didn't want on a lot of notoriety no but there was the obama got a hold of it and wrote about it and it got out a little bit but he really wasn't looking for publicity so that was really kind of the different end of the spectrum you know he wanted not not that he wanted to keep it quiet but he just wasn't didn't seem like he was really looking out for the notoriety so records by weights instead of by length well i mean you know you can have a a major difference between if you take for example a twenty four inch large mouth bass depending on time of year you can have two fish that are a couple of pounds of part safer with your longer fish big piker big mosque's you know if you have a fifty inch muskie you can have four of them and there can be you know five six or more pound disparity between the lightest one and the and the heaviest one so was i think thought to be not indicative of size i guess because you have to have the girth that would play into it i've seen fish i had a pike for example that was caught up in minnesota that was oh let me think now what it was thirty six inches long and it weighed no it wasn't thirty it was what was it was forty six inches long and it weighs thirty two pounds townhouses tremendous growth on it and it came from a real deep water lake and it was.
