He died in a car crash. After one of tamara's wrestling meets back in high school and he also likely would have approved of the way. His daughter responded after she won. Using Lap Splits to Track Your Mile Split With Ultra-Marathoner Zach Bitter

"Out one of these runs saying. I think i'm ready to run about this or like how. How do you determine that with with such a long young race. The nice thing is at this point. I've got done enough of more. I kind of know well. This is what i've done in the past. If i wanna make this much of an improvement years the splits. I need to hit so then if my training indicates that i think that's a reasonable enough goal than what i'll end up doing is all kind of pick elapsed split so the nice thing about these mice and sometimes it can be a problem to his. They'll have like a big computer screen. Tv screen so every time you do a lap you can see your lap split was so what do you think of one hundred miles on. Four hundred meter track is four hundred and two and a half laps. So you could see every one of those of you wanted to. I would advise against that. But it is nice to spot checks so i'll go in thinking. Well if i want to average like this mile pace to hit this time goal that i need to be within. Like i'll give myself kind of like if everything goes perfect. This is the split. I'd have to hit on average if if things go good but not great and kinda like worst case scenario but still within the realm of what. I would consider a good day. This is the slowest. I can go and usual. Have like maybe a three to four second like buffer in there that I'm trying to hit each lap so as coming around in the early stages i'll check a little more frequently just to kind of calibrate things once you kind of get a feel for it that i can pretty much hit those splits on demand and then just spot check every once in a while to make sure i'm not drifting in and out one way or the other and that's kind of how i've always gone about it.

"Hello and welcome to three wide Kava. I'm your host Mick Wall. A Pat Mullane here at the screen would tightening the situation going on in Australia very seriously. Megan show we give ourselves a NAS? A man of distance but was still gonNA cover a lot off here on Friday. We had to bring you all of your writing analysis. The satellite joined Bananas Salmon Marshall Absolute Pleasure to have you invoice. How we going is big really good Saif Sand and happy to be working side gang to be bringing you the best of Roseville this weekend and right around the country of course but I'll tell you something right now. Hug taught him how many has never looked better from the. Toronto's you look terrific today hugging Ka. That's the best I can but nausea to courtney love a band hall. At the moment we are in one. But we're going to get out of these we're GONNA roy stick fatty hiking winners. Send us only away from Josie. Now we know where we started. Tweet we stop at Joseph's track report the prohibit loss. Wait let's let's recap these second he said. You gotta be gotta be pies on spayed. Di Di all were. And they'll be coming off the route of the middle of the track. Josie absolutely not last week Josie placed hammers. She got something for this. Well hopefully we can get something Roy this week as well look ask seeks maters. We'd go at a little bit. Further soft seeks at the moment so expecting fifteen meals on Thursday fraud. I expecting I Ryan but Saturday expecting zero to six meals a gain so I think we're going to be in that soft seek seven Ryan Account. Expect these track to draw it really interesting to get further off the rile. Not so much the case he really own speed again but even horses. Just on the riles or a big advantage. When it goes eight six made is in the soft six Ryan. So don't be surprised. If the riles are the place to be. Look back to rile fullback rows. You could probably still win so darn expecting to get too far off. The fence are now. That's the pattern that was last week. And you sort of Virginia again. This week I think would be the case this week. Woy think they might go for horses. They're hard up against the rows one-two-three lines this Saturday. The Guy. We've heard that I very good Josie. Let's jump into the rights now. I rice. We're going to have a look at of course is the Tankard. I've a twenty four hundred metres very elegant. You're five and deservedly so to five followed in the market village. That five dollars Mugabe does muster g non does Mirage dancer in southern France both thirteen dollars tariff at twenty three dance area twenty-six truth at thirty one dollars Josie. We'll go to you and the map here. Really Secular Fahey woolley done. There's a lot of speed on Piper. Roy think very elegant will roll forward. We saw her roll forward last seven days ago when she was just beaming boy a dive. I think they'll roll forward John McCain take deposition Angel Truth Going forward I think four nail you'd expect to be at its fetus. Mugabe possibly could go forward. I think now it's had its second. Go at twenty four hundred meters. It could possibly roll forward. And there's a few days that just don't have the yearly gates paid to be able to do that with very elegant fourth. This time last year she was fourth option. One the CEO. She went really well. I think they said something really. Well spoke about that Rice where she finds finished second to die. He's a superstar. We spoke with these inform. One hundred and twenty-five die have absolutely gone extremely slow in that Rice lost weight but twenty two or three to eleven to seek time clearly the best laws four hundred lost two hundred of the die by far just close to half a second best boycot or. I think she'll win. I think she'll roll forward. John macrobiotic control the rice and she'll be two affiliates. Yea won this race last year. Two dollars sixty seven to a dollar sixty but that was off the back of winning the brain but somewhat unlucky in Australia Cup with issues. He's not going as well for me. Plus doesn't have the tactical advantage that very elegant will have always very elegant in the tankard. She proved a class. Last docked ships loomed up. It was a terrific Roy. Thomas macron Donna. Because he was able to take it up. A heated flat spot very elegant nosing front about he was able to fought back and Buddha. A love the way she held and she backed up once before that was from the white fool. Obviously into the Oxygen Victoria. Sh we know she's a two thousand four hundred made a win in the. She's charrier off by very elegant and I think rolling forward outside of Angel of truth or couldn't imagine she'd give up that advantage and get into a NAS rhythm and then settle for the twenty four hundred Mehta Gallup with that Mirage dancer and Moussagy. I think Mr. Jeez the best at solder in this field. He beat southern France over in Europe when they last met day. And I up. Winning these runs behind master on was terrific last dot. Ob It on a heavy non draw surface. He could improve out of the Ground Ivy. These trip most ability. He's not going as well Mugabe wait got group three. He comes up another level he so it's very elegant rice to win. Technically he bought oil Weiss. I look for a broad from one of these jockeys to get rolling at the item. I can take away that breeds and that turn of foot from very elegant and it might be the Rod on Moussagy. Just quickly you did mention. It was a really good. Pick up to mention that she did back up in the visa off the white full she actually filed she seven so there is. There's a slight knock. It could be that. Maybe she doesn't back up. She needs some link. Between Iran's bought. The profile was perfect but are just want to punish that you mentioned it so. It's really good to cy that she has backed up before she rented finished seventh in the works and she was four dollars. It was a foul issue variety wrong. That's the case. I think that animated well You guys know nothing more than when you hit the sign. That horse especially in a group want now. Let's have a look at the voluntary. Well I'll tell you what we're GONNA shorter Ye. Gentlemen Don Wait Funds. Ta Adults Seventy Five. So I'm interested. He chance they probably don't four. Forty MARKET GETS FROM THE PAINTINGS. Twelve bucks for say no and Missile Mantra. Both Iden- Does as got twenty shot about twenty. Six game of thrones. Twenty seven nudge. Forty six dollars and then just over the page aspect ratio. Best of the rest at sixty one dollars Josie funster very short but is justified. I think so. I think she's an absolute potential superstar. If she's not already there just with the Matt I think she had the barrel forward but again not a lot of speed on pipe. Pontes aspect ratio. I think we'll go forward and here. I think where the rights can be won or lost. I think that he's talked to clearly. Have between them they both exceptional phillies hard to knock either of them. But I think our probably roll forward as well and I just don't know where the problem beale has that tactical speed to be able to do that. Third up he fund star in the spring on the floor knocking off probably'll it was a dollar seventy four or five hundred one three and a half links. I just think these rice. It's up so much like that Rice They went extremely slow. Start yes fun. Style was in the advantage position and just had the technically vintage probably it was pretty good ren very close to debate and link not even that but they've come home twenty five twelve thirty four. That was the best of the die by a significant margin. They would've won the Kumo. They used to run the Cornell if they decided to run. They've got panels on the wrist. They got panels on the is the too serious racehorses going forward with both of them but I think fund star will have the tactical advantage and she's an absolute beauty. She will be but the last question overdrawn barrier right. She's she'll be in two minds early doors where the row. Ford and talking. Just come back and rod for a little bit of luck. I think that plays into the hands of probably joining soda. A breach of the China of probably Siamese. She's not based on a wet track in which funds stop later on last stat and she was able to technically outlawed on that occasion. But I love the white probably going fishy. V that she's had she's GonNa run a good tooth estimators. She can jump and lane close out and be wrought on fun styles hammer wherever she wants to sit in this field. These are clearly the 2-based horses in this race by five and ninety bad luck will bring one of these two undone because missile mantra as IAGO. Who won the Kimball Grind classic an Old Sisa painted and shout the Bio? Come through that time rice. This is another level up to Probably'll and found status. I based on that inside a barrier Kerrin mcevoy. If you're watching go and watch you'll lasting group one winners might and try and get to means Barack Obama. You just seen a bit of a hall. At the moment the basting could do back much all of my best rods to get out of that. And it'd be nice and shop for a big dialogue roading PROBAB- bill and can you get rotten. Big Fan Star. "Get started where we always Josie track report. He's focusing on Paknum. Is that Roger Riot true good for for their cap. Mating expecting nightline around saw should be beautiful conditions. A little bit of wind. Fifteen to twenty five says Wesley. So it'll be in their faces in the strike but look twenty-five Kaiser that track is very exposed so you can be partial to a lot of wind but only twenty five. You'll have too much impact but if it does it'll be in a headwind in the strike. Usually we always speak abaout back. Nakas Nakas really. Low percentage apply but they even packing him a little bit. You can swing moored such a long strike. Get your opportunities. So I expect to play fairly daily but not as big a disadvantage being off the spade was a couple of other tracks like awful prices. spayed it's not such a big disadvantage banging packing on the the soft six a drawing soft six. We hope can help these conditions move on the worst of that five and the troops truce off six just going to have have to say this race play. These track plays. I think it's in that because they've obviously had to irrigate heavily throughout the WACO. I just can't imagine come rice my warning that track. He's a fix it from the way that we've got coming up. So this is one of those guys. Josie we talk about it. You can get the older. One is my wife until the day before. Let's apply on the die in. Let's have good advice there are. We have pointed caveat here we're going to cover off plenty of rice from packing them and then we're going to have the group stop. Where else would we stop the sports bed packing them? Cop shows you might not be the the greatest of fields but there is definitely a winner here to be fan and the boys duvall on sacred buys is your fiber to two dollars. Forty five Chapada at six dollars ca calves off at seven dollars credence seven fifty nine dollars. Fifty Midterm Return Twelve Bucks back then the bottom the big awards strapping. Who they're at the doors Josie the Matt Pretty Canaan Valiquette Alec Is? Let's be honest does Ram trucks. y'All want me having a sin south probably get up there. I'm I absolutely the Rondo full with James Locks to go forward meet term probably lost two weeks ago with a capital loss whenever it was to actually go run away to go forward guys horses and usually put some genuine Tampa sacred wise and Chapada. They've got sticky guides. It'd just be interesting. I think Chapada probably goes back sacred on the seven day backup. Wouldn't be surprised if they beat. The bullet sort of went forward and try to find a spot of us even want to be posted. Three Ward Dare nightside with no Kebab imortant just carry much just bought the bulletin go forward and if it does find a spot I think it is the winner or I have marked opted to thirty four. I think the price is pretty good at the moment tales. Forty five dollars fifty. You can get. I think he's got to be Mardi heart debate. I think he's just the raw vine form fourth up here. He's on the quake seven dieback which we love. We ask dying offices. He's very good at many valley. It was only moderate Tampa but hyman about eleven on last week which is pretty good for the die. He's got twenty four hundred meter win at core field backing April and that was in good time ran a terrible light section. But it doesn't matter if you're on like section. It's terrible if you live in front who absolutely ks not may not getting that I am with sacred I I think he's perfectly placed. Twenty five hundred meters. No concern has one of the twenty four caufield teamwork. And he's a really good bit very good Josie and instead you have to give this pushes is wow. You're be very keen on cigarettes yell at the process of live nation. When you look at the field what invading? He tends to pick himself. Lock the backup as well as three eight nine cava facing the braves. It was a solid test to bait rupture who ran quite well in Bendigo Cup on dog running that Benny. CK kept backing behind. Him Wasn't too far beyond him. Control on through that the cows off he loomed to win but then didn't unquote run an ad. It at Ballarat Ballarat sports bit Beller at Cup. So more question Maki's a strong two thousand five hundred for Loyd cows off at that value. He was fourth close. But I can't seem running strong twenty-five and Beta sake replies if you look carry and you're running the best in the rice with the lack of speed I think across in use it and then lock and load after the first four hundred Maracaibo is interesting drawn. Lie He can roll. Fold and hold a Pasi Savvy Oak just court shaw with him but I think Chapada is the is the binding and the reason for that. He's got attach a class in a little bit of expecter about him and I'll side is because he still a young horse trying to form. These Weinstein ranks third against the autumn Sun a group living in Sydney and and then the southern France. He wasn't far off at seven France. who was you know some form of Melbourne Cup? Chance going into that Mobile Cup this year. So he's drawing awkward could but he's got fifty five and a half if he can find tile and get some Cabot Chapada up. Capitalism is a danger to sacred on the backups differently. The debate Vandeweghe because he can in sty. He'll run the two thousand five hundred and he's drawing low and you'll get a soft around. I think the full wakes fresh. He's the value so I'm gonNA clued in time. Rice moldy a little bit lighter. We'll talk to that right. A choice they josie just very quickly. You spoke about the Quick Seven Day backup has backed up. Before Sake reply back it was twelve hundred boy. Mouse Madrid renforce. Enforce was twenty to one side nine on the quick seven day. Backup

"Right yep Minnesota watching that game I again it it took me back to the Broncos and I'm not saying the Dalvin cook is going to have the kind of career the Terrell Davis had me TV's in the hall of fame rightfully so but boy I tell you what he to me looks like Terrell when he runs except all due respect the TV he's fast faster beat up big time fast he's but he he you know the the the term stay on track he he is not going to be persuaded when they run the outside zone he stay in on that track and even even if you have penetration he has been well schooled in making sure he stays on the track until you make that first cut it end in cousins now you know they've taken all the pressure off him really he throws a couple slants and a couple of the balls and everything else is boot and as Vic said you gotta commit people get out of the secondary to stop the run it's so you get one on one match ups don't think the strikes me as curious about Kirk cousins in the Vikings in this regard I I think the office is good I think if I think they can beat anybody in the playoffs because how good their defenses in fact they can run it but you're paying that guy almost thirty million dollars a year and I mean I think he's really sort of settled in and I'm not anti Kirk cousins but I think in that offense you could find a lot of guys for less than thirty million dollars a year to do what they ask him to do yeah I think you're right like maybe case Keenum well he did I think you're pretty good about that was without Gary I know I know but the case Keenum matter had that one good year there they got a good team let's face it they got a lot of talent on the team in in the one thing that I really like about cook is how quick he gets through that line eight he makes that cut in here yeah out his exhilaration the second and not in the league he run through tackles too hard over a couple two hundred ten pounds he runs like he's about to for thirty but again to put things in perspective a ten four hundred meter guy in high school I mean they're not might not mean much to the majority people listening to the show but I will just tell you this he would be one of the probably the five fastest backs plane in the NFL today that's what that me that's a lead speed there there aren't a lot of receivers that run ten for the hundred meters in high school so he's he's big time fast Broncos have to find a way to get him shut down about ten forty five is our time let's check traffic once.

LOVES BEING ON THE CAMERA LOVES BEING ON TV now apparently appendicitis apparently rushed to hospital but this video always target only twenty four hours ago and show you video on will the background camera legal round the block a man in the back dead who is going to pin this on us now are always the doctor boys I would be looking getting nowhere near the appendix I'll be working towards the leveraging as the light scratching on vets at voice box towel enjoys Dhabi heavy wealth to talk about on Taylor downdraft on Saturday fans wind the Melbourne Cup the Siamese Prince of aerated law she came third in the rice has that changed anything look into the rice it's now seven eight dollars and obviously we've seen through history that you win the Lexus the wholesome the SOB whatever it's called utain to run really well in the Melbourne Cop in the the market seems to gravitate toward you we'll get to that very shortly bought the market did change a little bit off to the barriers or war we're going to get the market up a brand new let's go through the market rocket as it stands at the moment and glass who's coming to five or tim that was a bad I fifty a couple of weeks ago Constantinople touch sevens at had fiend Shit tain bound declares in the cross Cantu the extra kilos this she is surprised by being Il Paradiso having a lot of pundits h. y. the Prince of Erin and move always at either over the table and Raymond Tusk at Nineteen downdraft is the one that came means southern France bits bits two thousand dollars on on the five southern France at twenty one dollars all the way Dan Hunting Horn who won two weeks ago at forty one dollars here it's a big rice guys on the page and there's still some genuine probably live chances there as well toy that we've had since the barrier to that the punishment the most sports bit the favorite mode aglow I told is into six fifty after the barrier draw guy to probably a big advantage for that horse obviously it's good it's about thirty two hundred meters but maybe the guy alleviates it's a couple of those problems with that and the other one was lying there the to the pun is one of the moment for us at sports is there anything out of Sessa die the why the trek plied that you can take in the Melbourne Cup look other than the fact that you are dandruff obviously going really well he's going to be fit we still have these trucks going apply to be honest it was quite wet on Saturday there's GonNa be some rain today on Monday and supposedly drawing we know it's a joint track but he's going to draw on add some confidence seem Flemington because what we saw on Saturday Dhabi is they used the entire tract I didn't just stick to the fence that didn't stick for the day in the middle like I'm Dan wide and we sold melody battle-winning Michael Grand and also fees impact and then towards the end of the day that I wish shifting off and leaving the fence about four horses of a gap to the inside running row also it was a great spread right across the track all wouldn't expect it to be too much I've got to get through it on Melbourne Cup Day and jockeys go to pick their best path so Jewish touched on it a little bit of inclement weather I think it'll just help Flemington because it's such a great draining track they've prepared these track for the full days play on Oregon it was really fair on Saturday more I'm really looking forward to catching up with the hall of fame trying to dive is he's got three runners in the Melbourne Cup and we're going to get him on the final on a little bit lighter so he won't be able to help some throughout the show today I'm looking forward to that is your task done well let let's go through all the runners one by one in Reis Book Order Starting With Number One cross candidate last year obviously a little bit more white penalty the she does a two-horse classy Ohio UCS V8's now with goodell from blue forever because of course Canis Ripa but that's last year that's irrelevant now you go to carry fifty seven and a half doing now you can get thirty two hundred Mehta's after one the Melvin copy he wants him otherwise he went to do boy I wanNA group to their he started two dollars fifty in this ledger most recent run looking Ren fourth I think back in that rice it was a little bit of a worrying run but he has the pay over a lot of these other international forces put it this way Celli police and absolutely gun he's done it before these horses this is done it before he can win the rice he's not my talk for everybody can definitely win the rice is to have been more helpful because I'm going to trust him at Flemington Lymington as a genuine style what we saw last year was that three year old northern hemisphere hemisphere foam come to the fore carried fifty two key allies he was the best background Gripe Gripe profile leading into that rice since then Josie mentioned you want my which was terrific winning out of the thirty two hundred meters so to me that look walk a whole studied improved to travel back tonight in and then he ran out of a full thousand meters he got one point nine links off stratovarius in gripe form rice in the Gold Cup with D. XP just let's be in front of him as well and then he wasn't far why beyond Stratovarius again in the goodwood and then Dayton full links I'll forgive him for that he's had a really good I think he's a better whole this year and net foam and those four runs within twelve months suggest that he's a bit holes that's fifty seven and a half the reason Gordon Moore top four is because I'm going to trust him as the genuine style in the rice think if you've got class law came you can come back drawing a good guy with fifty seven and a half get locked away and he's going to use he's that he's going to be more top four for those reasons I think we're going to see a bit of a patent horses that can win absolutely smell them cap so that is a big number one cross cannock came winless got the number to murder glass obviously after the barrier draw eight fifty six dollars fifty dining line on board came in as well Ken Wayne counting anyway any of that process of six dollars fifty Moran knowing nine dollars fifty but of a winning chance look he wanted to cool field cop I think the inside guy is the positive Damian line is absolutely able when he's a fantastic jockey there is concerns whether it gets thirty two hundred meters stay in that's probably the concern for the Japanese but I think the inside guy allows him to maybe get a bomb and just because up clued up if you can be with four hundred maters guy I've got no daddy can win the rice doubts on the coffee cupping teams if he had every opportunity to win that rice and still on the run high twenty four and a half twelve and a half so it wasn't sensational last four hundred dollars two hundred a pretty moderate Tampa he's got meaningful the Japan and as a guns I think sometimes we can fall into the brains of twenty four hundred a Coffee Cup win locked that didn't right off the roof in terms of figures that was he's I have a twenty four hundred proud of that he was a two-time winner I have a twenty two hundred police phones brain around the mall and a quarter so easy to to brilliant and is he wanted to he's best at fifty-six kilos against genuine thirty two hundred natal's GonNa be strong that you can trust at the end of the rice with that Madam on top four and now he gets the best run but he's going to need the bush guidance it'll suck up beyond side he can use that tune afoot but easy the brain Ho slot the Saudi thinks these talk horses that we've saying come through at the mall and a quarter and right really well and Hoy but just with the fifty six and not being tested beyond twenty four hundred meters of got that question macaroni happy to him on Kenny Win Not yes yes okay number three mass reality twenty six dollars at at the moment Frankie Dettori onboard can't win yes but I just don't know enough about the tone four one hundred twenty three matches up pretty well but time for one hundred twenty three fifty four and a half roy it up there I mean that's a fair wack he's the handicap has got a hold of him there's no doubting that he ran fifty alleged that cross Canada ran fourteen cross Canada Tudo is fifty Master Valley started fifteen does he can win but I've got him into bat twenty one twenty six dollars look I wouldn't be knocked over but he won't be my betting strategy is to he can he can running the top bite for show this horse because he's a genuine style and he's trolling barrier wine he gets a fifty five and a half and he's foolish stratovarius there's a lot of this

"You mentioned acclimate as the pacesetter but the addition the late edition by Jackson of Bandera at some at some pace too I think and not that escape clauses isn't a nice horse but sneaky betty we're we're going to hold up sneaky betty as as I agree that the staff to me you know she would she what price would she be in the in the desk staff that's the thing she'd be seventy two three two one I mean I don't I don't first of all I don't less the or less perhaps right exactly I guess it just depends on how low midnight would go but I don't understand it it's almost as if the thought processes that you're conceding this after midnight visa do when meanwhile this horse lost a blue prize last time and and and you're somehow it's total backward logic that she belongs in a significantly tougher race because she beat bad competition or lesser competition at the same distance I it's it's sort of you know if if if you saying I had a four hundred meter against a bunch of teenagers that everybody was oh well he should go to the four hundred the next Olympics but now he's a sprinter right he's not supposed to do that because he beat weaker weaker competition and that's almost it's probably a little extreme but it's almost the same analogous to what's going on here and and I don't when everybody to it's funny to me that it comes from a lot of people that have been it makes no sense to me and she actually would have been a decent wager and and had a much bigger chance in the distaff so I I look I applaud sportsmanship and trying things that are a little bit outside the box but I like it better when they're more in the realm of possibility nick everybody will be together next week for some final thoughts and ticket building exercises and so forth but this was invaluable and again the first nine races of the weekend we do the same exercise with Nick on the archive and we'll resend the podcast our that that had actually cut off at some point yesterday and anything anything Belmont keeneland related tomorrow I haven't done too much tweet to give everybody a look I'm excited maximum security but yeah I haven't really dug into the car too much we dug into the first glance at The Breeders Cup Nick thanks so much this was great I'll see you out there you bet sounds great have a good weekend and Tam T. a. m. m. one two one five we'll take a timeout right now back and get James scully in here he'll have some keeneland ideas then might be we'll do Belmont with Mike including the cross country cross country is the Belmont seventh eighth ninth and the Keeneland eighth and ninth and the Internet is lighting up with news that cool more has secured the breeding writes state rings how about that so an empire Baker son the first prominent since empire makers return North America we'll go to coma after his career is over which hopefully is at the end of twenty twenty two twenty twenty one back after this James Scully recent aberrations.

I always take musician but i like to know. What was your your best day in your worst day <hes> yeah. I always feel very good. When i come cover distance i mean when i flew all the way to this because it is for me to diverse or the most difficult term fine. I planted that national down so it's very good <hes> maybe it was just playing day but leeann the covered difficult part and so i would feel very good and divorced one was awesome. Maybe when they cross thome m my place and already well and i was expecting easy easy going and it was the hardest day a covert five thousand four hundred meter appeal <hes> on the end. I was flying in there rain. Mike lighter was totally wet and uh we stopped nine in camping because i was looking for a room to try my ring and be stopped already at nine and mike mike liden in my opinion was completely wet also the reserve had without and writing and when we eat dinner at ten i felt good because i covered almost nothing and mike was wet and i must stop delay over because five tell us four hundred meter makes me worry tire and so it's it's totally strange that feeling about putin the bax day <hes> ear your preparation is famous for these races and i think you i even saw somewhere that you're for more fit for this one than in any previous edition which we all got to see in the prologue <hes>. I never felt the in the previous prologues that i've done with you. You think you were pretty casual about them. But clearly this time you were gunning for it to get that second position than fat. I mean ben john axiom or fast and that was a breakneck pace for prologue. I mean i think we were all really fast that day but if you if view in the last you know i i know you're always preparing choice as soon as you're done with this when you're preparing for the next but if you could prepare differently for this specific acidic race when you look back at the last year what would what would you change if anything it was quite good because a lot of power training in gym during the winter and i never stopped really because i realized that it's very important for the body wanted to have a good shape muscle so the legs have to be very strong and they did once in a week <hes> chain until the start so enduring training did a lot of ski touring also skittering racist to base it would base and then in spring is to run. This also was quite good. Maybe for an exhibition. I tried to have more competition on flying competition close before they start to make sense because this year i was not planning related competitions.

"The on this Monday July twenty ninth Jennifer could shake it in for Gordon deal along with Ross okay some of our top stories and headlines the shooting at a food festival in California kills three and injures more than a dozen president trump keeps up his criticism of democratic congressman Elijah Cummings tropical storm Erika in the Pacific's expected to strengthen into a hurricane today twenty nine year old Delila Muhammad of the U. S. breaks the world record in the four hundred meter hurdles and the impressive way of Florida couple celebrated their wedding that story in about twenty minutes millennials who are carrying a heavy student debts and dealing with high rent in big cities are turning to a new kind of living arrangement communal spaces Dalvin brown of USA today is written about this trend and joins us now delve in what's this all about I think that millennials are in a very interesting space right now I think it other carrying a lot of that debate you are making as much money as they are and into we live in this sort of sharing economy where everyone okay with sharing in a group or are living in a stranger's house through Airbnb anti what you're seeing is you know a lot of young adults get getting together and and living among one another I wanted that in one case I spoke with there were seventeen people living under one roof and so yeah I think it's interesting to think that a lot of the times we live in double what do these places look like in general it runs the gamut I mean Saddam our traditional apartment complexes but what's really interesting is that a lot of them tend to have a lot of luxury elements are things that you would only see at a luxury hotel resort so have tools and I I eight think it's really important to for experience craving millennial but they do have these amenities right that some of them have like rooftop pool or the work like work area is that you know the rules of the room the smaller obviously but also are are really large what's really interesting is that people are choosing to live here they're paying you know they can afford to buy their own okay right in their own apartment for choosing to live with the the roommate communal environment and that I find really interesting so is the only private area your own personal bedrooms that's the idea that you you're sharing a kitchen you're sharing a bathroom in a in a lot of cases and and and what I've heard people say is you're in you know just having the privacy of your own bedroom for a lot of them it is enough some some of that that I've talked to develop a code word so you're not really in the mood to talk to a stranger you just say that code word and you know they get it they pick up on it and they leave you alone so I think that you know you you have the privacy when you want it but also instead of having to go to a bar or club or lounge or should look up somewhere on Google to go you can just go to your living room to meet somebody maybe somebody new and so that I think that people find that really exciting we're speaking with Devon brown of USA today to me this sounds a little bit not fun when it comes to things like keeping the kitchen clean or keeping the bathroom clean or all the problems that you had in college when you had a roommate yeah I read it I I I think you know a lot of people are compared to adult dorm rooms and I think that's very fair me yeah and that was one of my interests diving into this but what's really we're thinking is that these young adults have gotten together and said Hey we don't want these problems so what can we do to mitigate that and so some have a maid come in once a week to clean up everything so people don't have to and then you know obviously they they emphasize communication the problem here talking about it and the directing it but but even beyond that before you can enter at some of the space is there some that you're betting that that can happen one of a the company that I spoke with caught lightning fast they they actually interview people and and prevent new members to the house into the house the voter has the word in on what they're what do they think that that person is a good thing hopefully for the space to mitigate those sort of pain points as best as possible I mean I'm sure I'm sure things will happen you know but that is at least they're being for the spot all the awful about that sounds a little disc hickory factually I was going to ask you about that the landlord of the companies of a private people who who's running these things it's a mixed bag for you have companies like we work is getting into the space with their with the we live division and your block to start out one called in that I spoke to for the article in a whole multiple properties throughout Brooklyn into by being a member you get access to all the different amenities in the property and then you have lightning society which was started by two to who were essentially a roommate I think and they bought the space out for events and decided you know what instead of just having events here let's open it I thank.

make a stellar blade yeah yes I'm looking forward to that and I'm going to pick someone that nobody has ever heard okay that's what I'm going to do I'm going with our yard to miss eighteen year old swimmer from Australia she handed Katie Ledecky Katie Ledecky has been one of the most dot we talk about Michael Phelps all the time so much Katie Ledecky has been one of the most dominant swimmers fell over last handful of years and by dominant I mean she could get out of the pool and dry off before people were finishing their rates that's how dominant she has been our our young can this be her in the world championships it's her first ever defeat in a major international competition in the four hundred meter freestyle in fact the last time she lost in this race was in an exhibition me between European and American all stars in Glasgow in two thousand thirteen I mean that is unbelievable she had said to what what a line she just turned her fourth gold medal at the two thousand sixteen Olympics Katie Ledecky said of her motivation moving forward be from knowing that someone else in the world or somewhere else in the world a young swimmer was training hard to one day on see her she said that in two thousand sixteen that's how works you know that next young phenom comes along and this girl now this girl a couple of seconds off the deck is world record and we'll see what goes on but to beat her the last time she lost that was in two thousand thirteen and never lost it it in international competition with Jackie was an Olympic star with last time around one of those that comes to prominence during that four year run dominant and now pushed in for those of us that have seen programs like Alabama push like they are this year and then the response the usually follows got terrifying for the rest of the world sorry Aaron Kipnis after eighteen year old swimmer from Australia so can I put my fan hat on for my head to here who won the weekend this weekend NFL "You know just to see what they could do and and and and and do this for their for their former teammate was very I mean it's just amazing to me Hey Bob Williams is in studio what's going on but not much yeah that numbers in baseball is just an amazing thing yeah it just it no no game embraces numbers better than baseball I mean you can teach a child math just by right is to do similar baseball right it's true learn my percentages baseball baseball would it wouldn't unknown I better three ninety eight the year I made all stars for that math right right that's pretty good by the way he three ninety eight yeah just missed four hundred meter already yeah but isn't that incredible thing this year come first of all combined no hitter yeah those are rare an amazing yeah and to do it on a night when there's only some more all these in yeah and did you see the mom to out the first pitch no I didn't she walks it so we brought a plaque big picture of him are notices Jersey and then and then they're all one of the forty five like I said and his mom comes out it just like or gives nothing comes up gets the ball and just turned around just fires at the home right to the catcher almost like she had you know gone out and that's all there's always Balma I'm sure she did yeah I'm sure she did yeah I love that yeah love seeing that it's like up with the river cats game Saturday night yeah yeah I was a they had three people throw out the first pitch really two of them threw overhand god to the plate the third lady came up to about halfway between the pitcher's mound and home plate and probably kind of role that I thought was a bowling tournament if you roll the ball and all apparently she did not feel comfortable going overhead yeah never thought on the first pitch of the game no I've three I'm sure you have I have yeah I'll tell you one time I thought I I think maybe two or three times of done it and a river cats came I did at one time if Bob I'm telling you right now I I did the wind up and I threw a fastball and a catcher did movies met nice it was a it popped is met I'll never forget he comes up to me and he walks out and handed me the ball he says to me man that was the best first page I've ever seen anyone bro and then I went out as I was leaving I was going to the press box was going into the stands and I live I had people literally we go so question do you get to keep the ball yeah yeah awesome yeah catcher in the back to you very good it was really fun now you need to throw the first pitch at Dodgers game before you get called to the final big leagues well I think the only way that's ever gonna happen I was returning spring training my work that would be something syndicated actually work then then I can get out there though at the Dodge I'm otherwise I use I know you want to yes I do bad what is a great thing for you wanna be what would you love to go out to a giants game into our first page I sure would be practicing before I did that a long time since I since you played okay I fired one and yeah yeah yeah I'd I'd be I'd be working out but go by myself and pitch back right back with my friend man if you don't have anybody to play catch with his back was the best you're set up that little known that little rut roped off area in the middle C. get your strikes the writers just falling it rate you know you're missing it four out of five times when your little fling it over filling it under flinging around for anyone it will get that pays back just right to come right back to yeah right for anyone who doesn't know what a pitch back was it was like in which is going to be anybody under forty I guess all right yeah this bridge back was a big square give that to a metal to metal frames with elastic type netting yeah that you set up it had some up some little J. hooks the pounded into the ground if you didn't do those you knock your perspective right right right you would spend on there for hours if you never want to play catch with and the and the idea was that it would come back to you well it did come back to you sometime it came back your direction somewhere well depending on how good you throw was right you center that so it come right back and right right yeah that was a pretty pretty good out somewhere else we had a game we had put pitch black baseball as a two man game where the one guy would throw the ball in the pitch back in the other guy had to be the fielder yet to get three out so you could then be the guy who threw the ball yeah it's so great man making of games like that when you're a kid the baseball stuff yeah absolutely I remember James rather we used to go behind the wood shop I I started doing anything with wood anyhow except without hitting a brick wall but right yeah and we would take these sticks there would be well these the you know here's what job we take the of this war and the like is steak or whatever then we take her you bury you buy the milk cartons you buy the milk at school be the little pike to melt yeah the you would take that and you would smash eleven news was close you could into a ball shape then you take the duct tape or we were the only okay tape down up yeah I mean you'd stand we still have to go beyond would shop and throw that sucker play home run derby for hours and those were the days so much for a next day new milk carton deducted ball that right nothing better to look to the teacher caught yet again it's not that Bob there was one sad note about baseball I saw this over the weekend you know when you talk about over the years about pitchers who were intimidating to look at when they are looking at you you know there's been a few like Randy Johnson to some others or whose Jewish Gossage were Dave Stewart there was some guy got it would you look at him there Bob Gibson and that's who I get to Bob Gibson a sad to hear the news about Bob Gibson what happened I do miss this is all in favor of chorus genocide young actually give me P. awards in sixty eight he has pain create a cancer is here he was a obviously widely considered one of the greatest pitchers of all time is diagnosed so I guess several weeks ago so yes is so he starts chemo today in in Omaha he was born in is old town is Omaha Nebraska and he's been hospitalized there last couple of weeks but I mean this guy Bob right to wait twenty two at nine led the majors in ERA with a one point one two thank organs didn't score any runs when he was bitter about that I've seen interviews with him they sat down people wondered he just thought he was a mean guy because I'm not a mean guy and just mad because I'm not getting a run yeah many run support any wood Squidoo the batters no body was given the evil eye goes I don't have real good vision well there's some yeah well you say you don't see until after you're out of the game but really it's kind of intimidating if you don't think he has good vision and he throws away did like boy that's kind of itself he was intimidating but we talk about a guy who twenty two and ninety think about twenty two nine led the majors near one point one two yeah thirteen shutouts us strike out to one sixty eight strikeouts in nineteen sixty eight for the cardinals in the year before that he went the distance of three games all the winds and Saint Louis is victory over the Boston Red Sox in the seven game World Series but that was the time that all never forget that the that's when I realized in that sixty eight series I just a little kid and that series was any of their play the Tigers and it was in that series I distinctly remember realizing wow all iolite the team in the white jerseys which was the cardinals they were lining up they need to do so we come out lined up on the basepaths the World Series you know and I didn't care for the for the time I I instantly loved the nationally I don't know what it was but I just love that if I'm not mistaking that Tigers team had a pitcher who won thirty games anymore claimed thirty game winner yeah Denny McLain Mickey Lois was on that idea with another health care line is another big one yeah yeah that was a great World Series ship a lot of similarities to that in the twenty twelve Tigers medivac lectures yeah yeah they they the bay yeah panda show how big a Berliner was when Gary tell you what you know redeem himself on the World Series with the Astros yes he has a nice still still you still great pitcher to this day but yeah you know I I so sad to see about yeah about Bob Gibson because that's a tough one pancreatic cancer the young man the no no he is he will turn hi yeah hold you think yes I'd have to put him in at least seventy eight eighty four November wall I have no idea eighty four in November I'll be darned I I did I had no idea if he was out old either but what a what a man what at what an intimidating pitcher and so obviously we wish him the best as one of our childhood baseball heroes guy was is outstanding yeah so building a minus talking baseball for second here Matsuno grow here in about Wall show mad with Bob Williams a low okay so I'll go above the good good good thank you lord you know like the apostles of the radio man a lot of you guys thank you almost all or thank you by your words of kindness yeah I got to be very careful on stage I've had a hitch I had a ghetto version the little little role little rubric trampolines a ground lease John Paul like three feet across I use it so I use that like Graham agree she's before over on its side and I would swing the ball at that down the three ball so hard enough to come back and get beat the Sir there's.

"Men will dominate moments sports would have taken place. We'll be denied scholastic opportunity women who use male pronouns to talk about men may be arrested fined and banned from social media platforms girls will stay home from school when they have their periods to avoid harassment by boys and mix sex toilets girls and women will no longer have a right to ask for female medical staff or intimate care providers, including elderly, or disabled women who are at serious risk of sexual abuse female security. Officers will no longer have the right to refuse to perform, Pat down or intimate searches of males who say, they're female and women undergoing security checks, will no longer have the right to refuse having those searches performed by men, claiming feminine identity for a good look at how lesbians are impacted by gender idee. Algae and legislation. Please read lesbians at ground zero a survey from the UK about the harassment of lesbians in clear spaces, which I request to be placed in the hearing record everything. I just listed is already happening, and it's only going to get worse of gender. Identity is recognized in federal law. The authors of this Bill have done a lot of work to make it sound like gender identity as well. Understood and has been around for a long time, but it's a new concept that can only ever refer to stereotypes and unverified claims the witnesses for the majority. We'll talk about medical conditions and desperate unhappiness that everyone is surely sympathetic to. But this Bill doesn't reference any medical condition, and unhappiness isn't a sex class, nor is it a reasonable category of civil rights protection, everyone experiences unhappiness. So I would ask the members to strike the gender identity provisions of this Bill and instead, consider protecting all forms of self expression and loving relationships under. Stronger sex, stereotype discrimination provisions sex, stereotype non-discrimination could equally cover both rupaul and Caitlyn Jenner in their rights to housing employment. But only if we accurately recognize everyone's biological sex. I think the Republicans who invited me here and I urge my fellow Democrats to wake up knowledge biological. Reality. Thank you for your time, wouldn't it be great? Please. Stop denying. Saints. Please stop denying biology. Okay. That's, that's from a less gull her ater you notice it nobody did. Because, you know, she also is a protected group of people, she's protected class. She's a lesbian feminist. And you can't attack lesbian feminists. You can't. And so good for her for speaking out and, and speaking truth, for the most part disagreed with few things she said there, that was it was really well, put, and especially as when you're talking about athletes, there's no better proof than this. What's her face points out on Twitter women's sports have become the dumping grounds for poorly performing male athletes? Right. Exactly. In fact, I read a story about this one girl who trained her whole life, your whole life. And now she's in high school, and she's losing to a trans athlete, and she had it was down to one sport. She had one sport. We're only females were competing. And now even that has been taken over by transgender athletes. What sport wasn't it? Field hockey. No, no. I'm saying what are the track and.

"But anyway, so during a during a real training cycle typical week I something like a marathon or fifty K would would include a couple easy runs. Like longer slower stuff a long run, and then some sort of speed element. And I even recommend that for fifty miles and even hundred dollars to to some degree just because I think it's good to get your legs firing in that way. I think it's a healthy. Way to build strength and help prevent injury and that kind of thing. So I mean, I think that there's benefit in doing speed workouts. Even if you're only goal is to finish whatever ratio doing not at all worried about speed. So if you're thinking about. You know, running something as fall, and you don't have using to train right now. But you wanna begin kind of doing that certainly just start by running little bits at a time get back into that. But yeah, of course, you can you can do some some speedwork and some longer runs on your own without any sort of real structure. The the important thing is to make sure you're not biting off more than you can chew jumping into quickly because as someone like you who's run several marathons seventy do you have. I don't know twelve fifteen them in there a bunch of marathons, you know, several tros one hundred mile already under your belt. You know, the temptation is going to be to go out and do a fifteen mile of this weekend. And if you haven't done that in a long time because you just want to jump in. Then, you know, then it's a risky move. Right. So if you want to start doing that or if you want to start doing some intense track works, make sure you're you're starting slow make sure you're starting with like Tempa work and far it looks. And that kind of thing that are going to be a little less intense than like all out four hundred meter repeats. Right. You know, so that so that then you kinda get your body used to it and get your body in shape, right? But I mean, but I mean. Most people, and I really believe this certainly here. I can think of like probably four or five different training groups that have a weekly track night or Wrigley speedwork night. And they're not training for anything in particular. It's just kind of somebody gets designs the workout that night, and you go and adapted to whatever your level is and and do it, and that's a Superfund way to begin getting more comfortable with speedwork because because if you're if you're say running for your first marathon for your first marathon, I mean, this I was in this boat for sure. When I trained for my first marathon the training plan. I had had all this check work and I'd ever done in track worker, not since like high school and just didn't feel comfortable with it at all didn't understand some of it. And that's a good way. If you can find some group that's doing that. It's a great way to get more comfortable with it and begin to be able to ask questions ING, and that kind of thing I didn't have a group, but I did find a friend who who had run competitively in college. And we'd go to the track and he'd literally run laps around the running when I was out there running all out, but it, but it was just it felt way more comfortable than trying to do it myself. Yeah. It definitely does. I remember when I first got into track workouts and eventually into Google, I think I also went a few days on my own and just sort of went and did it and it was weird. I don't know how to pass people. You don't know what if you're supposed to stay in one lane. You don't know if if all the lanes of the same. I mean, you know, they're not the same distance. You don't even not interpret the markings. But yeah. Anyway. There's like a high school football team BAAs everywhere and like you feel judged because. No, I'm with you. But if you can find a group to do that with then that's that's a good way to do it. Or like another thing that I think people forget is. You don't have to do speedwork on a track. Right. I mean, you can you can do you can measure out half mile from your house on a street relatively flat course, and it might not be the exact same because it won't be pancake-flat..

Mars Mission Makes Clean Landing

"This is Americans sixty seconds science. I'm Steve Mirsky passed through peak. Deceleration telemetry shows the spacecraft saw about eight G L, and Markle Bravo and Iraq radio science reports carrier detected. Inside is now traveling at velocity of two thousand meters per second control room of the NASA insight Mars mission earlier today as the spacecraft landed on the planet after a voyage of six months and three hundred million miles. It'll be sending a probe some five meters below the Martian surface to measure heat flow and listen for tremors. Most of the talking is by Christine's ally of Nasr's Jet Propulsion Laboratory travelling at one thousand meters per second. Insight about four hundred meters per second. It will deploy it's twelve meter diameter. Supersonic parachute. Parachute. Parachutes deploy nominally at about mach. One point seven thirty. One seconds pass round. Patients are serving signals consistent with parachute. Deploy. Trees shows parachute deployment radar powered on. Did you separation commanded twenty two seconds pass? We have radar activation. Where the radar is beginning to search for the ground once the radar locked on the ground and inside is about one kilometer of the surface. The Lander will separate from the back show and begin terminal descent using twelve descent engines, twenty seven seconds pass altitude convergence the radar has locked on the ground. Yes. Danny by the Lander separation. Lander separation commanded altitude six hundred meters. Gravity turn out four hundred meters. Three hundred meters. Two hundred meters. Eighty meters. Sixty meters. Fifty meters constant Rossi thirty seven meters thirty meters twenty meters. Seventeen meters standing by for touchdown. We'll be until about eight PM eastern time today that NASA knows if inside solar panels are out and working correctly.
